- 0:11Speaker 1: It's the good report.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Tonight, Israel arrists Greta Tunberg as she tries to sail
- 0:17Speaker 2: the Gaza, and a diesel powered boat with some strange
- 0:21Speaker 2: cruise companions and a climate alarmist gits Astraea's top honor
- 0:25Speaker 2: despite crying wolf so often about the Great Barrier. Reef, Well,
- 0:29Speaker 2: maybe that's exactly why he did get it. Speaking of
- 0:33Speaker 2: King's birthday, wards, why does Scott Morrison get the top
- 0:35Speaker 2: award for his handing of our ott response to COVID?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Also tonight, the hard left starts another civil war against
- 0:43Speaker 2: Donald Trump, fighting under the flag of a foreign country.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Plenty more tonight as well, but first Anthony Ibnezy looks
- 0:54Speaker 2: headed for a nasty confrontation with US President Donald Trump
- 0:57Speaker 2: when they finally meet, probably next week of the GC
- 1:00Speaker 2: in Canada, a confrontation on defense, plus now one on
- 1:05Speaker 2: free speech after the Avenizi government outrageously banned an American Jew,
- 1:11Speaker 2: a tech expert who was coming to speak at a
- 1:14Speaker 2: fundraiser or two for mag and David a Doom Israel's
- 1:17Speaker 2: version of the Red Cross. Now on both issues, this
- 1:22Speaker 2: government is on the very wrong side, and the US
- 1:25Speaker 2: is already complaining about that ban. Now the defense issue
- 1:30Speaker 2: you already know about. I'm sure just over a week ago,
- 1:33Speaker 2: US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth privately told our defense mister
- 1:37Speaker 2: Richard Miles that China was a huge threat Australia had
- 1:41Speaker 2: to ramp up its defense spending from its pathetic two
- 1:44Speaker 2: percent of GDP to three and a half percent. When
- 1:48Speaker 2: Males refused to tell journalists what the US had actually wanted,
- 1:51Speaker 2: heg Seth embarrassed him by publishing it on his website.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Three and a half percent and as soon as possible
- 1:58Speaker 2: for Marceday was still though, and.
- 2:01Speaker 3: It's not about chasing a particular number, it's about chasing capability.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Now that's already likely to provoke Trump, who said he
- 2:09Speaker 2: won't defend allies who won't defend themselves.
- 2:13Speaker 4: I said, if you're not going to pay your bills,
- 2:15Speaker 4: we're not going to defend you.
- 2:18Speaker 2: But now just rub a little extra assault in that wound.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Our government has canceled a visa for that American jew
- 2:25Speaker 2: helll Fulled, claiming that is a danger to our safety
- 2:29Speaker 2: or good order, which is a joke. I mean, Food's
- 2:32Speaker 2: real sins seems to be that he disagrees with the
- 2:35Speaker 2: Amas terrorist group. The Home Affairs the partiment of Minister
- 2:40Speaker 2: Tony Burke, who said of Watson coincidentally is thirty five
- 2:43Speaker 2: percent Muslim accuses full of denying credible atrocities in Gaza.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Atrocities be Israel that means and Islamophobia rhetoric in social
- 2:54Speaker 2: media posts, only two of which it quotes. Now, these posts,
- 2:59Speaker 2: according to Burke Department, were received by members of the
- 3:03Speaker 2: Islamic community as inflammatory. So there we have it. I mean,
- 3:07Speaker 2: you know some of see it. I don't like Fold
- 3:09Speaker 2: saying things. So this Jewish should be banned from Australia,
- 3:13Speaker 2: just like Burkeer earlier banned a former is already Justice minister.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Can you believe a let's check ed I Fold is shocked.
- 3:22Speaker 5: I literally had to read the email like five times.
- 3:24Speaker 5: I was like, there's no way that a government is
- 3:27Speaker 5: banning some random guy who writes on the internet. I'm
- 3:29Speaker 5: not a politician or anything. I had to read the
- 3:31Speaker 5: email literally five times. The topic of my talk wasn't
- 3:35Speaker 5: even politics or anything to do with gods or anything
- 3:38Speaker 5: like that. I was there to talk about how Israel
- 3:40Speaker 5: and Israeli innovation is changing the world and making the
- 3:42Speaker 5: world a better place. What's inflammatory about that?
- 3:45Speaker 2: Now you see that full interview with Fulled on Sherry
- 3:48Speaker 2: Maxon's show just after mind. Now, what's really extraordinary here
- 3:52Speaker 2: is that nowhere in the reasons that Burke's Department has
- 3:58Speaker 2: published for in full doesn't even try to prove him wrong. Now,
- 4:04Speaker 2: the first post is from March last year. Burke's Apartment
- 4:07Speaker 2: claims it's when Fulled, whose name it misspells posted in
- 4:11Speaker 2: relation to the news reports made by many reliable news sources.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It claimed that at least one hundred and twelve Palestinians
- 4:18Speaker 2: had been killed and more than seven hundred and fifty
- 4:21Speaker 2: wounded after his ready troops opened fired on hundreds waiting
- 4:24Speaker 2: for food aid were Fulled had instead written there was
- 4:28Speaker 2: no massacre of Palestinians in Gaza today. Palestinians trampled each
- 4:32Speaker 2: other as they fought for the aid of the IDF
- 4:35Speaker 2: the army sent in, knowing that Hamas was going to
- 4:38Speaker 2: steal it. In parallel, the Palestinian mob tried to attack
- 4:42Speaker 2: Idea forces, who preceded to shoot warning shots in the air,
- 4:45Speaker 2: and when the mob didn't stop, the Idea fired at
- 4:48Speaker 2: their legs. Now Burk's Department's account is essentially based as
- 4:54Speaker 2: were the media ones on claims of the Hamas terrorist
- 4:58Speaker 2: group which runs Gaza. Fools, on the other hand, were
- 5:02Speaker 2: based on the claims of the Israeli Defense Force. Who's
- 5:05Speaker 2: telling the truth is even now unclear, but Burke's Apartment
- 5:10Speaker 2: clearly prefers to trust Hamas, which has lied so often.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Yet Israeli's Defense released heavily edited video yes showing Palestinians
- 5:21Speaker 2: indeed swarming the AID trucks. Now, I don't doubt Israeli
- 5:27Speaker 2: truths to issue Palestinians, but how the strategy unfolded and
- 5:31Speaker 2: how many were actually killed remains highly contested. Burke's Apartment
- 5:37Speaker 2: then quotes that a second that second post from Fuld,
- 5:41Speaker 2: which was last January, but without saying which of the
- 5:44Speaker 2: twenty one points fold makes are wrong and islamophobic, but
- 5:49Speaker 2: well guess. In point one, full said that up to
- 5:53Speaker 2: fifteen percent of words Wislims were radicalized, and the data
- 5:58Speaker 2: actually backs him. Last year, a polled by British British
- 6:03Speaker 2: think tank found that even in Britain, even there forty
- 6:07Speaker 2: six percent of Muslims supported Harmas. Fulda also said that
- 6:12Speaker 2: differentiating between Gazans and Hamas is abyst inaccurate, given that
- 6:16Speaker 2: Gazans elected Hamas and a vast majority of them support
- 6:20Speaker 2: October seven. And by the way, no one debated the
- 6:24Speaker 2: legitimacy of World War II by saying, well, there were
- 6:27Speaker 2: innocent Germans in Germany and we should treat this war
- 6:32Speaker 2: and Ghaza the same. It was his argument, and again,
- 6:35Speaker 2: you know, sure enough. In May, the repetial Palestinian Center
- 6:40Speaker 2: for Policy and Surveyed research found in its poll that
- 6:44Speaker 2: despite Israel's massive retaliation eroding a fair bit of support
- 6:50Speaker 2: for Hamas, even then, fifty seven percent of Palestinians it
- 6:55Speaker 2: polled still backed it, and half still thought the October
- 6:59Speaker 2: seven massacre of Jews was a good idea. It was
- 7:02Speaker 2: worth all. What's happened since.
- 7:05Speaker 6: Now?
- 7:05Speaker 2: Apparently most shocking of what full posted that day is
- 7:09Speaker 2: that he said, tragically, it is not safe to assume
- 7:13Speaker 2: that all children in Gaza are innocent, given children, he
- 7:17Speaker 2: pointed out, had been brainwashed to hate Jews and some
- 7:19Speaker 2: had killed them. I've seen the brainwashing videos. That's obviously true,
- 7:25Speaker 2: But fool would sure know about Palatinian children, some a few,
- 7:30Speaker 2: a handful whatever being killers. His own brother was stabbed
- 7:34Speaker 2: in the back by a boy who was just seventeen,
- 7:37Speaker 2: and he died chasing that young terrorist to save other
- 7:41Speaker 2: Jews from being stabbed. That food is now being banned
- 7:47Speaker 2: by our government for coming here to raise money for
- 7:50Speaker 2: Israeli ambulances, even though the government has improved. One thing
- 7:55Speaker 2: is said is false. And here's the thing, the Trump angle.
- 8:02Speaker 2: This is really going to get up the nose of
- 8:03Speaker 2: the Trump administration because Vice President jd. Vance has alreally
- 8:06Speaker 2: warned America's European allies in a really provocative speech, really
- 8:10Speaker 2: put it to them against shutting down free speech.
- 8:15Speaker 5: Shutting down media, shutting down elections, or shutting people out
- 8:20Speaker 5: of the political process protects nothing.
- 8:24Speaker 7: In fact, it is.
- 8:25Speaker 5: The most surefire way to destroy democracy.
- 8:29Speaker 2: And Trump's Secretary of State Marco Rubio followed up in
- 8:33Speaker 2: April announcing America and now banded foreigners who shut down
- 8:37Speaker 2: free speech of Americans.
- 8:40Speaker 8: We don't want to see an American who happens to
- 8:42Speaker 8: be living in London or happens to be living in
- 8:44Speaker 8: Europe post something online about American politics or any politics,
- 8:48Speaker 8: and all of a sudden they're facing ramifications over there,
- 8:51Speaker 8: or they're denied entry. And you know something happens, you know,
- 8:54Speaker 8: or we're denying them into our country. If suddenly these
- 8:56Speaker 8: become places where people are targeted because of what they
- 9:00Speaker 8: said or what their opinion is, than one of the
- 9:02Speaker 8: pillars of our shared interest, beyond military cooperation mounting out
- 9:07Speaker 8: is under attack.
- 9:08Speaker 2: And indeed the US has already sent Australia warning about
- 9:13Speaker 2: banning HELLEL. Fuld, he said an American citizen, Mike Huckabee, America's
- 9:19Speaker 2: ambassador to Israel, has already written to Minister Tony Burke
- 9:22Speaker 2: saying mister Full is a highly respected member in his
- 9:25Speaker 2: community and well known in Israel. While he holds strong
- 9:29Speaker 2: views against terrorism and the kind of massacre that occurred
- 9:33Speaker 2: on October seven, he would pose no threat to the
- 9:36Speaker 2: people of Australia by his actions or words. But once
- 9:41Speaker 2: again the Albanizi government has given the US the back
- 9:43Speaker 2: of its hand, with Burke today saying Australians have a
- 9:46Speaker 2: strong view that we don't want hatred from overseas brought here.
- 9:51Speaker 2: They don't want hatred brought here. Which government, by the way,
- 9:55Speaker 2: has recently issued tourist visas to nearly three thousand palacein
- 9:59Speaker 2: the from terrorists rum Gaza with only the most basic
- 10:04Speaker 2: initial security checks. I fear this government really is just
- 10:09Speaker 2: against importing an American Jewish teller of truths, and Anthony
- 10:15Speaker 2: Albanezi should now fear what Trump might make of that.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Johny now's the panel, Michael Kroger, former Victorian Liberal President,
- 10:26Speaker 2: Steve Conroy, former Labor Senator and Cabinet minister. Michael this
- 10:32Speaker 2: ban on the American Israeli Jewish tech expert, the US
- 10:37Speaker 2: already complaining what do you make of it?
- 10:42Speaker 9: So this is just a political decision by Tony Burke
- 10:46Speaker 9: to appeal to the much larger Muslim community that's in
- 10:51Speaker 9: Australia as we know, eight hundred thousand Muslims, one hundred
- 10:53Speaker 9: thousand Jews. It's embarrassing, it's humiliating, it brings enormous to
- 11:00Speaker 9: credit on this country. It's now known internationally, as you've
- 11:04Speaker 9: just pointed out, this government and this country are no
- 11:08Speaker 9: longer seen as friends of Israel or.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Friends of the Jewish community.
- 11:11Speaker 9: And it's horrific, absurd decisions like this that make Tony
- 11:16Speaker 9: Burke probably the worst minister that we've had in this
- 11:22Speaker 9: portfolio that I can remember in my lifetime. Andrew, the
- 11:25Speaker 9: anti Israel, anti Jewish actions. He and this government have
- 11:29Speaker 9: taken an embarrassment to the Labor Party and embarrassment that
- 11:33Speaker 9: Labour Party is a great tradition of being friends with
- 11:35Speaker 9: the Jewish community and friends of Israel.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Steve Conrolly, this certainly wouldn't have been a decision of
- 11:43Speaker 2: a hawk labor government.
- 11:47Speaker 7: Well, look, I want to take issue with your whole
- 11:49Speaker 7: characterization of this decision some sort of an attack on
- 11:54Speaker 7: free speech.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I mean, let me be very clear.
- 11:57Speaker 7: Jd Vance is a wholly owned subsidiary of the tech
- 12:01Speaker 7: moguls in the United States who've ran a self interested
- 12:05Speaker 7: campaign and continue to do.
- 12:07Speaker 2: You never discuss the topic. No, I can we talk about.
- 12:11Speaker 7: The philosophical position.
- 12:14Speaker 2: I'm talking about the princip No, we're not. We are
- 12:18Speaker 2: not we're talking about it.
- 12:20Speaker 7: Just showed jd VA editing a lecture. What it says
- 12:26Speaker 7: is Australia's sovereignty will be decided by Australia whether you
- 12:31Speaker 7: support this individual being band lea, support a pro Nazi
- 12:35Speaker 7: individual being banned, or a firebrand Muslim. I'm saying that
- 12:43Speaker 7: I don't have enough information to make the judgments that
- 12:46Speaker 7: was made. I've just watched your program go through it,
- 12:49Speaker 7: and then you proceeded to suggest this was an attack
- 12:52Speaker 7: on free speech, and I reject utterly that position. Each
- 12:55Speaker 7: individual case is dealt with on individual circumstances. Being pro
- 13:00Speaker 7: Nazi speakers banned, there have been some individuals in the
- 13:04Speaker 7: Muslim community from overseas that have had question marks about them,
- 13:08Speaker 7: and now this individual. But let me be again clear,
- 13:11Speaker 7: Australia is the one who will decide who comes to
- 13:14Speaker 7: our country to borrow someone else's famous line. And this
- 13:17Speaker 7: is not an argument.
- 13:18Speaker 2: About free speech. I repeat. JD.
- 13:20Speaker 7: Varbes is a wholly unsubsidiary of tech moguls in the
- 13:24Speaker 7: United States America. They bankrolled his campaign to get into parliament.
- 13:28Speaker 7: And if you believe the stories this week that Musk
- 13:32Speaker 7: and Peter Teel insisted that Varnce be the deputy president
- 13:38Speaker 7: or they wouldn't bankroll Trump. So let's not lose anything.
- 13:42Speaker 7: You get Americans bored.
- 13:46Speaker 2: If you get bored in the lobbying industry, I suggested
- 13:49Speaker 2: to go into fishing, you would be a gift to
- 13:51Speaker 2: the red herring industry. Michael, not an attack on free speech,
- 13:57Speaker 2: I mean banning a speaker for what he might say.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Here is obviously obviously at attack and free speech, and
- 14:04Speaker 2: no one here was suggesting that we don't make our
- 14:07Speaker 2: own decisions. It is precisely a decision made by this
- 14:11Speaker 2: government that we are examining here. And I'm just wondering
- 14:15Speaker 2: whether you know whether this can be in any way justified.
- 14:23Speaker 1: No, I don't think it'd be justified at all.
- 14:25Speaker 9: And I'm sorry my friend Stevin Conory is sprouted that
- 14:27Speaker 9: irrelevant nonsense about the tech industry and Peter til I
- 14:30Speaker 9: don't know what subject he's talking about, but as well
- 14:34Speaker 9: as well as Trump sort of Biden. I don't even
- 14:37Speaker 9: he knows what he said. But no, this is a
- 14:42Speaker 9: well known, well credentialed Jewish actor, a lecturer, and he
- 14:51Speaker 9: is very well known throughout the world. He's made some
- 14:54Speaker 9: strong criticisms of Palestinian reports. Well, we now know that
- 15:00Speaker 9: the Palestinian spokesperson in Gaza, for all the years that
- 15:04Speaker 9: we've been listening to the Palestinian civic authority or Palestine
- 15:08Speaker 9: health officials or whatever they call themselves, it's just Hamats right.
- 15:11Speaker 9: These are lying terrorists, these are butchers. These people have
- 15:14Speaker 9: no respect for human life. And so he criticized a
- 15:17Speaker 9: lot of these reports, and for that reason he's being banned. No,
- 15:21Speaker 9: we all know what's going on here. Andrew's ridiculous. The
- 15:24Speaker 9: people are people are not going on. This is another example.
- 15:27Speaker 9: We know what's going on here.
- 15:29Speaker 1: You know.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Even to the King's Birthday Honors, Scott Morrison is only
- 15:35Speaker 2: is one of only fourteen Australians made a Companion of
- 15:37Speaker 2: the Order of Australia and the King's Birthday Honors. He
- 15:40Speaker 2: got it for, among other things, the August Defense Seal
- 15:43Speaker 2: with the nuclear submarines give them a tick, and for
- 15:46Speaker 2: his national response to the COVID pandemic, which is rather
- 15:51Speaker 2: more controversial. Do you think it's deserved.
- 15:55Speaker 7: Look, I agree with both of the issues you've just
- 16:00Speaker 7: in terms of Scott Morrison. He did lead us through
- 16:02Speaker 7: a difficult situation in COVID and I support most of
- 16:05Speaker 7: what he did, and he showed leadership. I also support
- 16:09Speaker 7: the Orcus proposal that is now bipartisan. But I think
- 16:14Speaker 7: this goes to a deeper issue that there seems to
- 16:18Speaker 7: be a desire to criticize and attack and vilify people
- 16:23Speaker 7: after they've left office. I mean the attacks on Morrison
- 16:27Speaker 7: from some on the left of politics. I might say, oh,
- 16:31Speaker 7: it's undeserved, or it was just back off. Daniel Andrews
- 16:34Speaker 7: is not being allowed to join golf courses because people
- 16:37Speaker 7: didn't like how he hand ridiculous. Okay, so both of
- 16:41Speaker 7: the yeah, both of these instances, they've left politics. It's
- 16:45Speaker 7: time for everyone else to move on and let them
- 16:46Speaker 7: move on with their lives or the Scott Morrison or
- 16:48Speaker 7: Daniel Andrews, and neither of them I know, well, neither
- 16:51Speaker 7: of them I would call friends of mine. Daniel Andrews
- 16:53Speaker 7: would definitely not be described as a friend of mine.
- 16:56Speaker 7: But on the principle that once you finished politics, it's
- 17:00Speaker 7: time to move on and not persecute people, criticize them
- 17:05Speaker 7: and attack them because of things that happened years ago. Well,
- 17:09Speaker 7: no matter how controversial it is. So I think on
- 17:12Speaker 7: the basis of the reasons put forward, Morrison is equally
- 17:15Speaker 7: deserving as previous prime ministers.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I want to join you there. I think I didn't
- 17:20Speaker 2: agree with it much of I mean, it was appalled
- 17:23Speaker 2: by the way Dan Andrews, Wren Victoria, absolutely appalled, But
- 17:26Speaker 2: I think the hounding of him now, the golf club
- 17:30Speaker 2: bands and all that is so vindictive and petty. It's
- 17:33Speaker 2: just not you just can't support it. I don't think
- 17:36Speaker 2: if you're an adult. Another winner at the very top
- 17:39Speaker 2: King's Birthday Awards today is former ABC host Philip Adams
- 17:45Speaker 2: of the very tribal Labor Left. Are you applauding Michael
- 17:48Speaker 2: as a former board member of the ABC?
- 17:54Speaker 1: No, I'm not.
- 17:57Speaker 7: No, I'm not tell us what you really think, Michael.
- 18:01Speaker 9: You know I don't think. I don't think these awards
- 18:06Speaker 9: should be given to former politicians, all of whom tried
- 18:11Speaker 9: their very best in office. Whether it's Scott or Julie
- 18:14Speaker 9: Gillard or Kevin Rudd, they all try their very best.
- 18:17Speaker 9: State politicians, I mean ninety nine point nineer sent them
- 18:20Speaker 9: are honest, and they work incredibly hard, no matter what
- 18:23Speaker 9: background or party they're from, and they serve this country to.
- 18:26Speaker 1: The best of their ability.
- 18:27Speaker 9: But they're well paid, and I'm not sure that any
- 18:29Speaker 9: former politicians should be given these honors, nor.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Should political activists.
- 18:34Speaker 9: To take your point, I would prefer these awards solely
- 18:37Speaker 9: be given to volunteers who serve their country for nothing.
- 18:44Speaker 9: Kredlin just had on an extraordinary man from Witchy Proof.
- 18:48Speaker 9: That's the type of person these awards should be kept for.
- 18:52Speaker 1: And also a.
- 18:53Speaker 9: Scientific and artistic community That's how it should be, not
- 18:56Speaker 9: for politicians and not for political activists.
- 19:00Speaker 1: You know, I'm sorry late Night.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Phone the ABC. Correct, Correct, Michael, you are very articulate there,
- 19:08Speaker 2: But I have to say nothing spoke louder than your
- 19:10Speaker 2: huge pause before you give an answer. Stephen Conroy, Michael Kroger,
- 19:15Speaker 2: Thank you very much to you both. I got to say,
- 19:19Speaker 2: this is happening again, scenes that look almost like a
- 19:24Speaker 2: civil war in America. Well, Donald Trump was first elected president.
- 19:28Speaker 2: You had American cities being torched by rioters, by anarchists
- 19:32Speaker 2: and the hard left, and you know, all encouraged by
- 19:36Speaker 2: anti Democrat or anti Trump Democrat politicians who were exploiting
- 19:41Speaker 2: race resentments. After the death of a drug effected George
- 19:45Speaker 2: George Floyd. One of them, of course egging the mon
- 19:48Speaker 2: was Kamla Harris, you might recall. And here we go again.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Trump this time got elected promising to expel a million
- 19:55Speaker 2: illegal immigrants from the US, and last Friday, immigration and
- 19:58Speaker 2: Customers Enforcement officials raided several locations in Latino areas of
- 20:02Speaker 2: Los Angeles looking for illegal workers, arresting dozens, but moobs
- 20:08Speaker 2: quickly gathered to stop them to assault them. Then the
- 20:11Speaker 2: rioting got wilder and more dangerous. Police were attacked, They
- 20:15Speaker 2: were even rammed with motorbikes, They were shot at with
- 20:18Speaker 2: commercial quality fireworks potentially lethal. Of course, the riders blocked traffic.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Of course they set cars alight. And what I thought
- 20:26Speaker 2: was really telling is that many in the crowd that
- 20:30Speaker 2: was attacking police and the National Guard waved Mexican flags
- 20:35Speaker 2: like there were some sort of invading foreign army, and
- 20:38Speaker 2: they chanted slogans in Spanish. Others wore Palestinian kaffirs and
- 20:52Speaker 2: came masked almost like hamas figures, like they were looking
- 20:57Speaker 2: for trouble.
- 20:58Speaker 10: Some would call them, or by any other variety of names.
- 21:03Speaker 10: But they're people that we run across routinely, city to city,
- 21:06Speaker 10: and this is what they do.
- 21:08Speaker 2: And once again Democrat politicians were saying oh no to
- 21:12Speaker 2: the violence, yet still blaming Trump for calling in the
- 21:16Speaker 2: National Guard, blaming him saying he'd provoked the violence deliberally
- 21:20Speaker 2: to make himself look tough. Trump wasn't backing off, you know, by.
- 21:25Speaker 11: All the people, and we're not going to let him
- 21:27Speaker 11: get away with it.
- 21:28Speaker 2: If we see danger to our country and to our citizens,
- 21:31Speaker 2: will be very very strong in terms of law and order.
- 21:34Speaker 4: It's about law and order.
- 21:36Speaker 2: And Kamala Harris, who lost the election to Donald Trump,
- 21:39Speaker 2: the formed Vice president, actually called what you just saw,
- 21:43Speaker 2: these riots are overwhelmingly peaceful. Overwhelmingly peaceful, Join us the country.
- 21:49Speaker 2: So Foreign affairs writer Greg Sheridan of The Australian Greg
- 21:53Speaker 2: to me, this overwhelmingly peaceful demonstration actually looked like an
- 21:58Speaker 2: insurrection by I, among others, foreigners hated by Americans who
- 22:03Speaker 2: hate Trump or hate American Yes, Andrew, good to be
- 22:09Speaker 2: with you.
- 22:09Speaker 11: This is a very serious moment in America, and I
- 22:14Speaker 11: would cast it more widely. I think illegal immigration has
- 22:18Speaker 11: become a critical issue in many Western societies now. I
- 22:22Speaker 11: don't think we need to blame legal immigrants for this.
- 22:27Speaker 11: Illegal immigration has been fostered by the left and center
- 22:32Speaker 11: left of Western societies who have ceased to be law
- 22:36Speaker 11: abiding when it comes to immigration law. You know, there's
- 22:39Speaker 11: a great line in the movie Reagan, which I saw
- 22:42Speaker 11: the other night, where Ronald Reagan, as a governor in
- 22:44Speaker 11: the late nineteen sixties, says to the university administrators, where
- 22:47Speaker 11: do you get off telling students that they can pick
- 22:50Speaker 11: and choose.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Which laws they have to abide by?
- 22:52Speaker 11: Now, the Democratic left in America, through the movement of
- 22:56Speaker 11: sanctuary cities and the like, has said it's simply cooperate
- 23:01Speaker 11: with federal law on immigration. That was not the view
- 23:04Speaker 11: of Barack Obama. Barack Obama deported four hundred thousand people
- 23:08Speaker 11: in twenty ten, more than half of whom had no
- 23:12Speaker 11: criminal record. They were just in the United States illegally.
- 23:15Speaker 11: But since then the left has decided that democracy is inadequate,
- 23:22Speaker 11: it doesn't give them the result that they want, and
- 23:25Speaker 11: that borders should be open and there should be no
- 23:27Speaker 11: immigration control. Now I think you're getting still a minority
- 23:31Speaker 11: of Hispanics. I mean, the interesting thing is the Hispanic
- 23:34Speaker 11: vote for Trump went up at the last election because
- 23:37Speaker 11: legal immigrants hate illegal immigration. This kind of disorder hurts
- 23:42Speaker 11: minorities in minority neighborhoods, and generally Hispanics have been terrific
- 23:46Speaker 11: immigrants in America. They joined the military in disproportionate numbers.
- 23:50Speaker 11: They're very patriotic, they're socially very conservative. But I do
- 23:54Speaker 11: think the moral blame for this rests overwhelmingly with the
- 23:58Speaker 11: American left.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Well, what do you make of the attempts by the
- 24:03Speaker 2: California governor, among others the mayor of the city that
- 24:08Speaker 2: Trump provoked this and maybe deliberately too by sending in
- 24:12Speaker 2: the National Guard, federalizing it, so I was associated with
- 24:15Speaker 2: the army, not under the control of the Los Angeles Police,
- 24:17Speaker 2: et etc. Well, there are a couple of things about it.
- 24:22Speaker 11: First of all, when the demonstrators first attacked the Immigration
- 24:28Speaker 11: and Customs enforcement people, the so called ICE agency, the
- 24:32Speaker 11: LA Police were very very slow to come to their assistance. Secondly,
- 24:36Speaker 11: there's been a really vicious habit now, including among local officials,
- 24:41Speaker 11: local Democrat officials, of doxing ICE agents publishing their names
- 24:47Speaker 11: and their private addresses and their photographs so that they
- 24:50Speaker 11: can be subject to vigilante terrorism later on. Now, these
- 24:54Speaker 11: are federal law enforcement agencies enforcing the law. If you
- 24:59Speaker 11: are an illegal limit, that means you're there illegally, which
- 25:02Speaker 11: means that you're liable to be deported. So Trump has
- 25:06Speaker 11: deployed the National Guard in the first instance to protect
- 25:10Speaker 11: federal property and the federal ICE agents. Now, if Gavin
- 25:15Speaker 11: Newsom and the mayor of Los Angeles were cooperating with
- 25:19Speaker 11: federal law enforcement in the way that they should, probably
- 25:22Speaker 11: it wouldn't be necessary to deploy the National Guard. There
- 25:25Speaker 11: has been a slight change by the Democrats this time.
- 25:28Speaker 11: I noticed Newsom and also the mayor say every time,
- 25:32Speaker 11: now you demonstrators must be peaceful, you must.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Be law abiding.
- 25:35Speaker 11: I think they're aware that the politics of this runs
- 25:38Speaker 11: very heavily against them with most Americans, and so they
- 25:42Speaker 11: want to demonize Trump and blame Trump for the disorder.
- 25:46Speaker 11: And yet at the same time they recognize that they
- 25:49Speaker 11: can't just valorize the demonstration in the way they did
- 25:52Speaker 11: with Black Lives Matter, because ultimately that turns people against
- 25:58Speaker 11: against the Democrats. Police union in the country supported Trump,
- 26:02Speaker 11: and he won a plurality of the popular vote for
- 26:06Speaker 11: the first time ever last time, and illegal immigration was
- 26:09Speaker 11: the number one issue.
- 26:10Speaker 2: I think, just quickly, Greg one Channel known reporter it
- 26:15Speaker 2: was hit boy rubber bullet issues.
- 26:18Speaker 3: The bullets of protesters moving them on through the heart
- 26:21Speaker 3: of la.
- 26:26Speaker 2: He was now. I saw Lauren to Marzi then do
- 26:34Speaker 2: appear on the Channel known news. Such is okay, but predictably,
- 26:39Speaker 2: Green Senator Sarah Hanson Young claimed the US police were
- 26:42Speaker 2: shooting Australian journalists and attacking the freedom of speech and
- 26:45Speaker 2: doing so, I mean, seriously, this rabbel rousing here is
- 26:49Speaker 2: that how you saw it, a deliberate attack on journalists.
- 26:54Speaker 11: No, no, certainly not. I feel nothing but sympathy for
- 26:58Speaker 11: one of our tribe of fellowst caught up in the
- 27:01Speaker 11: violence of covering a demonstration. I'm so glad that she's
- 27:05Speaker 11: not seriously hurt. That's a wonderful thing. Almost everything Sarah
- 27:08Speaker 11: Hanson Young says is utterly ludicrous. And I'm sure you,
- 27:12Speaker 11: like me Andrew, have covered riots and demonstrations and so on,
- 27:16Speaker 11: and you're lucky. You just thank god if you get
- 27:19Speaker 11: through without injury. And I feel sympathy for the journalist.
- 27:25Speaker 11: I feel sympathy for the police and the ice agents
- 27:28Speaker 11: who are trying to do.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Their lawful job and are.
- 27:31Speaker 11: Being attacked and guy street thugs by nineteen thirty's fastest
- 27:36Speaker 11: street thugs in the process. And if Sarah Hanson Young
- 27:40Speaker 11: was a decent social democrat, those are the people she'd
- 27:43Speaker 11: be attacking.
- 27:45Speaker 2: So true and words of journalists. You don't want to
- 27:48Speaker 2: run the risk of being shot by rubber bullets. Don't
- 27:50Speaker 2: stand down the street where police are firing at the
- 27:53Speaker 2: people next to you. That would actually quite help. Greg Sheridan,
- 27:57Speaker 2: thank you very much for your time. After the break
- 28:00Speaker 2: a climate alarms that have actually fought for years gets
- 28:03Speaker 2: Australia's top honor for the King's Birthday. And I'll tell
- 28:07Speaker 2: you why. I'm surprised we're in the King's Birthday Honors
- 28:15Speaker 2: because I see an old sparring partner of mine of
- 28:18Speaker 2: hul Gildberg, Emeritus Professor at Queensland University, has been given
- 28:22Speaker 2: the highest award, Companion of the Order of Australia for
- 28:27Speaker 2: service to climate science. What should I say? You've got
- 28:30Speaker 2: it for a warning for almost thirty years that the
- 28:32Speaker 2: Great Barrier reef is going going, if not gone already
- 28:36Speaker 2: because of global warming, only to find again and again
- 28:40Speaker 2: the reef keeps bouncing back. As he admitted yet again
- 28:43Speaker 2: in this online lecture three years ago.
- 28:47Speaker 6: You know in Australia the Southern Great Barrier reef is
- 28:49Speaker 6: sort of not unusually healthy at the moment.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Now followed who Gildberg for decades, really even before nineteen
- 29:00Speaker 2: nine and say when he predicted coral reefs could be
- 29:02Speaker 2: eliminated from most areas of the world, But twenty one
- 29:05Speaker 2: hundred the next year he reckoned the Great Barrier reef
- 29:08Speaker 2: would be destroyed before then because corals couldn't fully recover
- 29:12Speaker 2: from bleaching episodes like the major event in nineteen ninety eight.
- 29:16Speaker 2: The overall damage, he said was irreparable, except it wasn't,
- 29:21Speaker 2: as I kept pointing out to his annoyance. But on
- 29:24Speaker 2: he went in two thousand and six saying most Great
- 29:26Speaker 2: Barrier Reefs had seen where one hundred percent bleached, and
- 29:30Speaker 2: he was still at it six years ago.
- 29:33Speaker 6: Climate change hasn't gone away and really is a major
- 29:37Speaker 6: threat to places like the Great Barrier Reef and Australia
- 29:40Speaker 6: in general. We lost fifty percent of the reefs shuttle
- 29:43Speaker 6: to corals in the last four years, except.
- 29:47Speaker 2: As the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority conceded just
- 29:50Speaker 2: two months ago, the reef actually started the summer of
- 29:53Speaker 2: twenty twenty three twenty four with high coral cover, and
- 29:57Speaker 2: while there have been some setback since to the reef,
- 30:00Speaker 2: like a cyclone among other things, it cautioned that the
- 30:04Speaker 2: reef goes through cycles of disturbance and recovery, just like
- 30:09Speaker 2: any natural system. Joining me as a scientist who alas
- 30:13Speaker 2: did not get an award today. In fact, he lost
- 30:15Speaker 2: his job as head of physics at Jones Cook University
- 30:19Speaker 2: because he kept warning correctly that his college predictions of
- 30:23Speaker 2: the death of the Great bery Reef were grossly exaggerated.
- 30:27Speaker 2: I'm talking, of course, of marine physicist Peter ridd who
- 30:30Speaker 2: is now chair of the Australian Environment Foundation. Peter Red
- 30:34Speaker 2: great to see you. A Top Australian Ay award for
- 30:37Speaker 2: overhuled Guldberg is a deserved.
- 30:41Speaker 4: You've got to give it to old I. I he's
- 30:43Speaker 4: been incredibly successful in what he's trying to do over
- 30:46Speaker 4: a long time. And look, I'm not going to be
- 30:49Speaker 4: I'm not going to be ungracious. I'll give him my congratulations.
- 30:53Speaker 4: You know, in actual fact, over is not the worst
- 30:57Speaker 4: of these climate catastrophes. He's actually come out quite recently
- 31:01Speaker 4: and saying that, you know, we've got to go for
- 31:03Speaker 4: nuclear power. Now, you know, he gets a lot of
- 31:06Speaker 4: blowback from that because everybody on his side is the
- 31:09Speaker 4: anti nuclear and the rest of it. So I'm going
- 31:11Speaker 4: to give him it. But of course, look these awards therefore,
- 31:15Speaker 4: the establishment for the insiders and the insiders are in
- 31:19Speaker 4: the present, but the outsiders and the rebels, you know,
- 31:22Speaker 4: people like you and me, perhaps well we.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Own the future.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Because what you're actually seeing is a growing distrust for
- 31:29Speaker 4: a lot of this science. A favorite statistic of mine
- 31:32Speaker 4: is that polls in the America Show show that sixty
- 31:36Speaker 4: percent of Americans reckon that climate change has become quote
- 31:40Speaker 4: a religion that's being used to control us. So you
- 31:44Speaker 4: know the times are changing.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Yeah. Look, I've got to say that personally, I found
- 31:51Speaker 2: him quite nice. Had a lovely debate with him on
- 31:54Speaker 2: the ABC and he did give him credit apologize for
- 31:58Speaker 2: falsely claiming I was being paid by Gina Reinhardt. He
- 32:02Speaker 2: didn't admit that. Maybe he's spoken a moment Vanger. I think,
- 32:06Speaker 2: what is the state of the Great Barrier Reef?
- 32:11Speaker 4: Record amounts of coral the last three years? We've never
- 32:13Speaker 4: had more coral. This is statistics from the Australian Institute
- 32:15Speaker 4: of Marine Science. And most remarkable, the type of coral
- 32:19Speaker 4: that is now in just remarkable amounts is the type
- 32:23Speaker 4: of coral that over and everybody else agrees is the
- 32:25Speaker 4: most susceptible to hot water. So how can you have
- 32:29Speaker 4: all these supposedly massively destructive coral bleaching hot water events
- 32:34Speaker 4: and end up with record amounts of coral, especially the
- 32:38Speaker 4: types of coral that are most susceptible. So it proves
- 32:40Speaker 4: that completely conclusively that it's been exaggerated. And remember it's
- 32:44Speaker 4: not just for thirty years that Ov's been doing it.
- 32:47Speaker 4: You go back to the early nineteen sixties when this started,
- 32:51Speaker 4: not on climate change, but the death of the great
- 32:53Speaker 4: Bewer reef has been predicted by these so called scientists
- 32:57Speaker 4: since marine biology got going on the reef in the
- 33:00Speaker 4: early nineteen sixties.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Oh look, I just don't get it. I mean, middlely,
- 33:08Speaker 2: apparently it has been a great barrier. Reef authority is saying,
- 33:12Speaker 2: you know, it's been batted a little bit bit of
- 33:14Speaker 2: the recent cyclone, a crown of thorns, some runoff from whatever.
- 33:19Speaker 2: But at least to its credit, it's now saying reefs
- 33:22Speaker 2: do bounce back. It's not irreparable the damage. That's probably
- 33:26Speaker 2: why the reef's been there for many, many thousands and
- 33:29Speaker 2: thousands of years. So what does it say about the
- 33:33Speaker 2: state of the science that Herb Guldberg, for all this charm,
- 33:40Speaker 2: gets this award and skeptics that you lose their jobs.
- 33:44Speaker 4: What it says is that science has become dominated by
- 33:48Speaker 4: the group think, by the insiders, essentially, and that's a
- 33:52Speaker 4: real problem where you can get something that is quite
- 33:55Speaker 4: clearly demonstrably.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Wrong, at least on the Great Barrier.
- 33:58Speaker 4: If you can argue about you know what's going to
- 34:00Speaker 4: happen with the climate in one hundred years, but what
- 34:02Speaker 4: has actually happened in the last thirty years on the
- 34:05Speaker 4: Great Barriage is demonstrably wrong and it means we really
- 34:08Speaker 4: need this science auditing, which I've been pushing for for
- 34:11Speaker 4: the last basically ten years.
- 34:15Speaker 2: As you have, Peter ridd It's always great to talk
- 34:17Speaker 2: to you and it remains a tremendous injustice what was
- 34:22Speaker 2: done to you. And may you one day, with the
- 34:24Speaker 2: change of government get the Order of Australia that you
- 34:27Speaker 2: deserve for courage in the face of a mob. Thank
- 34:31Speaker 2: you so much for your time. After the break, Greta Tunberg,
- 34:36Speaker 2: it's arrested by Israel along with a boatload of some
- 34:41Speaker 2: strange people. Greta Tamberger's got what she wanted. She's been
- 34:49Speaker 2: arrested by Israel along with the rest of a boatload
- 34:52Speaker 2: of activists bound for Gaza.
- 34:55Speaker 1: If you see this video, we have been intercepted and
- 34:58Speaker 1: kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces or
- 35:03Speaker 1: forces that support Israel.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Tunberg, as she knows the former guru of global warming
- 35:10Speaker 2: had dropped a religious band of fossil fuels to join
- 35:12Speaker 2: this boatload of hard left activists in a diesel boat
- 35:16Speaker 2: to supposedly sail to Gaza to bring palasin Is just
- 35:19Speaker 2: a small trailer load of aid. But what company she
- 35:23Speaker 2: was keeping there now that activists who just saw there
- 35:27Speaker 2: seems an anti white racist to me, just for a
- 35:30Speaker 2: starch as German of Turkish background. And here she is
- 35:33Speaker 2: earlier telling a German woman that that woman had no
- 35:36Speaker 2: right to speak about pro Palasini radicals in her own
- 35:39Speaker 2: country because she was white. That immigration, what it does
- 35:53Speaker 2: to a country. Also on the boat is or was
- 35:56Speaker 2: this charming looking Brazilian who seems so pro the Hesblo
- 36:00Speaker 2: terrorist group that he was actually at the funeral of
- 36:02Speaker 2: its leader after Israel assassinated him. And Greta herself is
- 36:07Speaker 2: both anti German Israel. Joining me and Michael Danby, former
- 36:20Speaker 2: Federal Labor MP and Stephen Chavura, an author and a
- 36:24Speaker 2: senior lecture in history at Campion College, Michael Danby Greta
- 36:28Speaker 2: Tunberg wanted to highlight what she calls Israel's blockade of Gaza,
- 36:32Speaker 2: the alleged starvation of Palestinians. What did she actually illustrate?
- 36:37Speaker 10: Do you think that she's tiresome, that she's a latter
- 36:43Speaker 10: day Joan of arc who is trying to sort of
- 36:46Speaker 10: virtue signal to get us continue to be involved in
- 36:49Speaker 10: more publicity. Aren't people just so weary of this infantile
- 36:56Speaker 10: politics and manipulation that has so little to do with
- 36:59Speaker 10: the actual Does Greta Thunberg know that the Israelis accepted
- 37:03Speaker 10: the American opera of a ceasefire and that Hermas refused.
- 37:07Speaker 10: I think it's a good idea that you're going to
- 37:08Speaker 10: show her the forty seven minute horror film of what
- 37:12Speaker 10: Hamas did. But I'm glad they've peacefully arrested her and
- 37:16Speaker 10: they should swiftly deport it.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Stephen Already there was a mob today outside the Prime
- 37:22Speaker 2: Minister's office demanding help for Tunberg. What help should we give?
- 37:28Speaker 12: Well, I don't think she needs our help because she's
- 37:31Speaker 12: been intercepted by the Israelis and not by Hamas, And
- 37:36Speaker 12: I think what who needs helper? The protesters they seem
- 37:39Speaker 12: to be confused about who did.
- 37:40Speaker 1: What in this whole conflict.
- 37:42Speaker 12: You see, they probably need to be told that it
- 37:44Speaker 12: was Harmas not Israel who murdered, raped, tortured, mutilated, kidnapped women,
- 37:52Speaker 12: just like Greta Tunberg, that it was Hamas, not Israel,
- 37:56Speaker 12: that built tunnels specifically for the purpose of killing Jews.
- 38:01Speaker 12: So I think that a little bit of education for
- 38:04Speaker 12: the protesters is in order, and they need to know that,
- 38:06Speaker 12: in fact, actual fact, now that Greta is with the Israelis,
- 38:10Speaker 12: she's actually safe and sound on.
- 38:14Speaker 2: A very very good point. That is a very good point, Michael.
- 38:19Speaker 2: The government has already just denied a visa to Jewish
- 38:23Speaker 2: American tech expert HELLEL. Fuld, who was coming here to
- 38:27Speaker 2: Australia Melbourne, Sydney to raise funds for ambulances and first responders.
- 38:33Speaker 2: What do you make of that band?
- 38:36Speaker 10: When I was in Parliament with Tony Burke, he put
- 38:38Speaker 10: his hand on my shoulder and said to me, Michael,
- 38:41Speaker 10: don't invite me to any Israeli or Jewish functions. That
- 38:45Speaker 10: was in two thousand and two. So we have a
- 38:47Speaker 10: pattern here. Andrew Fulled, the former Israeli Conservative minister who
- 38:53Speaker 10: was bart and most unjustly young Israeli tourists are being
- 38:58Speaker 10: subject to a thirteen page interrogation as they can't try
- 39:02Speaker 10: and enter Australia for normal tourism purposes about their military service,
- 39:07Speaker 10: which Burke knows well is compulsory in Israel. So no
- 39:11Speaker 10: interrogations of gardens thirteen thousand who have come from an
- 39:15Speaker 10: uncontrolled Humas area, but young Israelis when they're doing post
- 39:22Speaker 10: military tourism around Asian Australia thirteen pages, phone sees and
- 39:28Speaker 10: other unjust treatments by Tony Burke.
- 39:32Speaker 2: That's funny. You know, the first time I met Tony Burke,
- 39:34Speaker 2: he was working in the defense of George Pell against
- 39:37Speaker 2: false allegations of sexual abuse. He didn't want that much known,
- 39:41Speaker 2: he was doing it for his union. But may how
- 39:45Speaker 2: the murmurs turned. I just think this is a very
- 39:48Speaker 2: different Tony Burke. That's such a shame. Honestly, when I
- 39:53Speaker 2: look at a career like that, I'm thinking, are you
- 39:56Speaker 2: selling your soulmate? Or did I read you're wrong in
- 39:58Speaker 2: the first place? What do you make is absolutely wasted?
- 40:03Speaker 1: Well.
- 40:03Speaker 12: I think it needs to be pointed out that Tony
- 40:04Speaker 12: Burke's electorate of Watson is over fifty over fifty percent
- 40:09Speaker 12: of people in that electric were not born in Australia.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Twenty five percent Muslims.
- 40:13Speaker 12: It just has to be pointed out that what we
- 40:15Speaker 12: have had in Australia is a very irresponsible immigration policy
- 40:20Speaker 12: that is now affecting the virtue of Australian democracy. It's
- 40:24Speaker 12: affecting the free speech issue. The fact of the matter
- 40:26Speaker 12: is Tony Burke and the Labor Party is so skittish
- 40:29Speaker 12: about bringing in people like Hillel Fuold because some of
- 40:33Speaker 12: their seats have very, very large Muslim minorities. Now, not
- 40:38Speaker 12: all Muslims want to see the end of freedom of speech,
- 40:40Speaker 12: don't get me wrong. But when you bring in under
- 40:44Speaker 12: a ideology of multiculturalism people from regions in the world
- 40:48Speaker 12: with animosities towards Jews, animosities towards the West, it cannot
- 40:53Speaker 12: not affect our social cohesiveness and our ability to be
- 40:57Speaker 12: able to say things that are very valuable politically. And
- 41:00Speaker 12: that is exactly what is going on right now. It's
- 41:02Speaker 12: multiculturalism against freedom of speech.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Oh you've seeing the same thing happening in Britain and
- 41:10Speaker 2: in France, where France's top author was sued for defaming Islam.
- 41:16Speaker 2: I mean, it's just ridiculous. In one of his one
- 41:20Speaker 2: of his great books, just quickly a little off the topic, Michael,
- 41:26Speaker 2: this is a great economic and social issue. Australia has
- 41:30Speaker 2: four of the least affordable housing situations in the world now,
- 41:36Speaker 2: with Sydney second only to Hong Kong ad Lady sixth,
- 41:40Speaker 2: Melbourne is ninth, Brisbane eleventh. That's according to a university study.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Although when you compare the median house price of the
- 41:47Speaker 2: median income, Sydney is in fact the most unfordable in
- 41:52Speaker 2: the world. Isn't that actually shameful in a country with
- 41:55Speaker 2: such relatively small population and a lot of land.
- 42:00Speaker 10: It is, and it's a shame that we haven't been
- 42:03Speaker 10: able to move more populations out of Sydney in particular.
- 42:07Speaker 10: But Australia's income is going backwards compared to where we
- 42:12Speaker 10: were and compared to other countries, and housing affordability, particularly
- 42:17Speaker 10: for young people. If you know any people under thirty
- 42:19Speaker 10: five living in Sydney, you know how terribly hard it
- 42:22Speaker 10: is for them, So bad results all around, and they're
- 42:27Speaker 10: paying more and more for their electricity prices as we
- 42:30Speaker 10: go down this renewables only badness.
- 42:36Speaker 2: You've got any children looking to buy houses, well two
- 42:39Speaker 2: of them are, I can tell you this is just
- 42:41Speaker 2: a nightmare. Stephen Trevera and Michael Danby. Thank you very
- 42:44Speaker 2: much to you both after they break Esther Krackos's coming up.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Don't turn off. You know, there's something about being a
- 42:56Speaker 2: climate change for minutes that seems to make people save
- 42:59Speaker 2: them up, some grandiose like we're saving the planet Australia.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Of course it's got Chris Bowen who's now threatening a
- 43:07Speaker 2: climate tax on imports, so is still a prospect.
- 43:13Speaker 4: You know, I've had lots of meetings with steelmakers and
- 43:15Speaker 4: cement makers about these things over the past twelve months,
- 43:18Speaker 4: for example, getting their feedback, and we'll have more to
- 43:21Speaker 4: say during the course of this term.
- 43:23Speaker 2: But Britain has its own Chris Bowen. It's in fact
- 43:27Speaker 2: Bowen's friend ed Millerban, the Energy and Climate has Change Secretary.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Listen to this guy playing Jesus on the Insufferable podcast.
- 43:38Speaker 2: The rest is politics.
- 43:40Speaker 3: We've got this mission clean power by twenty thirty. If
- 43:43Speaker 3: we achieve that, and I'm absolutely determined we do, other
- 43:46Speaker 3: countries will say, look, look what Britain's been able to do,
- 43:49Speaker 3: we can do that too. So let's not have a
- 43:51Speaker 3: diminished view of Britain. We really matter in this So
- 43:54Speaker 3: many countries come to me and say you've got a
- 43:58Speaker 3: really important responsibility here.
- 44:01Speaker 2: You think you got that Chris bone Head bond when
- 44:03Speaker 2: you're making a point. Honestly, those guys peas in the
- 44:08Speaker 2: pond joining from London is writer, commentator, author and so
- 44:12Speaker 2: much more is the crack es the always great to
- 44:14Speaker 2: talk to you. Who on earth are these countries that
- 44:18Speaker 2: are telling Britain please set an example to the world
- 44:21Speaker 2: by beggaring your people. I suspect and I've got apologize
- 44:25Speaker 2: to you is that it might be her own Chris Bowen,
- 44:28Speaker 2: who is this turkey you've got there?
- 44:31Speaker 13: Yes, Ed Miliband probably one of the biggest disasters in
- 44:34Speaker 13: Kirs Starmer's cabinet. And that's really saying a lot. I'm
- 44:37Speaker 13: assuming that the countries at Miliband is referring to are
- 44:40Speaker 13: the countries that are really, you know, just eager to
- 44:43Speaker 13: to to impoverish their own people and and you know,
- 44:45Speaker 13: basically destroy their own economies. But you know the thing
- 44:48Speaker 13: is with this sort of complete obsession with net zero.
- 44:52Speaker 13: By the way, in that podcast and the rest of history,
- 44:54Speaker 13: you'll notice that the two presenters were so were doing
- 44:57Speaker 13: such an excellent job of pushing back by sitting back
- 44:59Speaker 13: quite and watching him basically preach like it was a
- 45:02Speaker 13: megachurch in Kansas. Anyway, you have companies like SSE, which
- 45:06Speaker 13: is one of the largest energy companies in Britain, that's
- 45:08Speaker 13: pulling three billion pounds worth of investment in renewable energy
- 45:12Speaker 13: because they say it's due to macroeconomic factors changing, which
- 45:16Speaker 13: in other words, means now that the Bank of England's
- 45:18Speaker 13: interest rate is not basically near zero even they can't
- 45:22Speaker 13: make the numbers work with this kind of investment. You
- 45:24Speaker 13: have all the alarm bells ringing saying this is a
- 45:26Speaker 13: fruitless task. Britain will be in the dark. Why twenty
- 45:29Speaker 13: thirty if we keep going this way, there is no investment,
- 45:31Speaker 13: There is no interest in this. If we want to
- 45:33Speaker 13: talk about energy, let's talk about making it plentiful and cheap.
- 45:37Speaker 13: But you know Ad Milerman is not interested. Instead, they're
- 45:39Speaker 13: just going to keep hiking up taxes on people. Ironically
- 45:42Speaker 13: labor government that says that they want to help the
- 45:43Speaker 13: working people, and eventually, you know, people will realize how
- 45:47Speaker 13: ridiculous this is. There's already been rumors about a cabinet
- 45:50Speaker 13: reshuffle in Kyirstama's government because people just cannot believe what
- 45:54Speaker 13: they are seeing. I mean, they are seeing their energy
- 45:56Speaker 13: bills go up, and yet the climate changement. It's so
- 46:01Speaker 13: detached from reality that he somehow thinks that he can
- 46:04Speaker 13: make this work. I mean, you know, Britain and Belgium
- 46:06Speaker 13: happened to be, what you know, two of the biggest
- 46:09Speaker 13: countries in Europe that are really gung ho for wind energy,
- 46:11Speaker 13: and now you have like countries like the Netherlands blaming
- 46:14Speaker 13: Britain and Belgium for stealing their wind, which actually the
- 46:18Speaker 13: reality is there's not enough wind energy to go once
- 46:21Speaker 13: you have like countries clustered around trying to generate energy
- 46:24Speaker 13: from wind, which is not very economically friendly and it's
- 46:27Speaker 13: actually costs a lot more on energy grid. You know,
- 46:30Speaker 13: it's just not economically viable. But no one is saying this.
- 46:33Speaker 13: These ministers that are making these decisions that are basically
- 46:35Speaker 13: impoverishing their citizens.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Well I was losing track there at one stage. I
- 46:42Speaker 2: thought it must have been describing our own Chris Bowen,
- 46:44Speaker 2: and then I realized they really are the glimmer tweens,
- 46:48Speaker 2: those two peas in a pod. Now I've got to
- 46:51Speaker 2: ask you the hard question, says so you don't just
- 46:53Speaker 2: come on here and get a free pass. It's the
- 46:56Speaker 2: correct are you actually a terrorist? And the reason I'm
- 46:59Speaker 2: asked that is because your own government's anti radicalization program
- 47:04Speaker 2: is called Prevent says one sign of terrorism, and it's
- 47:08Speaker 2: training its staff to recognize this and to intervene if
- 47:11Speaker 2: it sees it is people thinking that the cultural nationalism,
- 47:18Speaker 2: that's what it's called cultural nationalism. They're thinking that Western
- 47:22Speaker 2: culture is under threat from mass migration and a lack
- 47:26Speaker 2: of integration by certain ethnic and cultural groups, and esther
- 47:29Speaker 2: that sounds like you, are you a terrorist?
- 47:33Speaker 13: Unfortunately, I have to be honest, I think I am.
- 47:35Speaker 13: You know, there was a recent a study that came
- 47:37Speaker 13: out that said, on the current trajectuary, white Britain will
- 47:40Speaker 13: be a minority in Britain by twenty one hundred and
- 47:43Speaker 13: the whole view on the left is, oh, you know,
- 47:45Speaker 13: I don't care. I don't even know if I'm white,
- 47:47Speaker 13: says one blue eyed, Firs skin journalist who I'm assuming things.
- 47:51Speaker 13: He happens to be Japanese. Then, but is this complete
- 47:54Speaker 13: lack of reality by many people that don't understand that
- 47:57Speaker 13: actually culture means something and you cannot catch the reality
- 48:01Speaker 13: that once you have the native population declining to such
- 48:03Speaker 13: an extent, it has a significant blowback on national culture
- 48:07Speaker 13: as well. But once you say that, apparently.
- 48:09Speaker 5: You're a terrorist.
- 48:10Speaker 13: So now we're all terrorists. Were saying, actually, we don't
- 48:12Speaker 13: want countries that we live in and we know and
- 48:14Speaker 13: love to change beyond recognition.
- 48:18Speaker 2: I have to say that. Listen, I'd like to what
- 48:21Speaker 2: you said there about the rest is history thing. I
- 48:24Speaker 2: know I'm straying off the path is that. But you've
- 48:27Speaker 2: got a fraud of a show where you've got Alistair
- 48:30Speaker 2: Campbell he used to be Tony Blas Prayer Press, you know, guru,
- 48:35Speaker 2: and you've got Royal Stewart, who supposedly the conservative, both
- 48:39Speaker 2: as left as each other. It's a total fraud, is the.
- 48:43Speaker 13: It's a complete joke. I mean, the idea that Roy
- 48:45Speaker 13: Stewart thinks of himself as any kind of conservative, low learner,
- 48:48Speaker 13: moderate conservative just shows how far the part of his sunk.
- 48:51Speaker 13: It is utterly laughable.
- 48:53Speaker 2: Absolutely absolutely, it's the crack. Always great to talk to you,
- 48:58Speaker 2: Thank you so much. That's it from me, Sherry match
- 49:00Speaker 2: and up next. Goodnight,
