- Liam: What's up and welcome to another Fourth and T podcast. It is the week six game review show with me, Liam, and not Jamie today. We're with James, the boy from across the pond. James, how are you doing? James: I'm well, I'm well, thank you. The boy from across the pond is doing well. Liam: Not that we can tell by the accent, which what a blessing. Don't James: But Liam: tell the people over there. We've got we've actually got some listeners over in New York, actually. I don't know if it's probably like your mother in law shout big shout out. Big shout out. James: Really? It's yeah, yeah. That's it, yeah. But we'll we'll be able to test test if she actually listens now. Liam: I know I I'll expect a text later. Also, shout out James: Okay. Liam: to Sean, who is hopefully a new listener. I met him at the London Games. We're talking to some people about the podcast, James, which is quite fun to go and get stuck in. So yeah, that's where James: Yeah. Liam: I was this weekend. trying to think, where have you actually been to games in the US? Many places? James: No, not many. a bunch at the Giants. I saw some college games down in Tampa. when I was I was down there for a year. And then that one game we went up to in Buffalo. and I think that's probably it for NFL games. Yeah, I think that's Liam: Yeah, okay. James: probably it. So but same as you basically. I haven't but although I haven't done a London London one. Liam: Well that's it. So yeah, so I was at the London Games and I and you know what? I think I think we would be I really think that London, I've seen it before, is ready for an NFL team. And I think they just need to be declared an NFL team to just be believed as a home team. Because that's the only thing it was lacking. That we went to a tailgate party for the Jags. It was actually really fun. They had not American level food, but I think it was like British appropriate level food for a stadium. Because it's way bigger than a you get a football match or a rugby match or anything. I remember drinks were flowing. There's all the Duval, like Duval. That's why I the Trevor Lawrence up behind me today. Got the new Trevor Lawrence jersey. it's vintage. It's not ac it wasn't from the stadium. But the only thing it lacked was a home atmosphere. James: So I gonna ask this, it other than that, are the trance the same? Is does it does it feel the same, other than the home atmosphere Liam: It James: aspect? Liam: it I think a lot. It felt because all the drinking and I think drinking in the stands as well, like that was good. Like not like football. our football. But it felt like an exhibition match. Like it felt like you know when it's third down when you're on defense, it's like make the noise, make the noise. It's like the English fans that At all there that don't quite get it, make noise James: Yeah. Liam: for like two seconds, and then it's almost like they go, Why am I making noise? On James: Why? Yeah. Liam: when we're defending. Like that's how it felt. Went with some friends and James: Mm-hmm. Liam: they almost were like, Yeah. And then I was like, No, you've gotta make noise. James: It's part yeah, it's part of the tactics. So and it works sometimes. I feel like even in America it doesn't work all the time. But I can't remember I think it was Stafford recently, one of the games, and he literally had to like run over to the side to listen because he couldn't hear it. And like, when you see that, you're like, it does actually make a difference. It's not just some like BS thing they say to do. But yeah. Liam: Yeah. Yeah. But apart from that, James, they had you might appreciate this. They had all the things like they had Jackson Deville, the Jaguars mascot doing the bungee jump off the stadium into the middle of Wembley. That was fun. They had all like James: Did he Liam: the games on. And then they had they had a corgi race called the Duval Derby. And all the At half diamond, all the dogs are running around them. So yeah, you had that fe you did have that feel part and part of it. And obviously you could drink around the games in the UK anyway. James: Yeah, I see. I was we said the you know, the the Mascot did the what did they call it, like repelling or something off the the roof. Did you see the did you hear the news about the army navy game in the US this weekend? And some army guy Liam: I didn't. James: did that on video in front of everyone, slipped, fell, didn't them well. So, yeah. I don't I don't even know if they carried on the game or not, but kind of acts they're gonna do because yeah nice start to the pod nice cheery start to the pod for everyone but yeah Liam: Just lovely cheering, but I was just gonna and I mean I was about to follow up with some health and safety notes because I don't know. Surely there's no health that's gonna have been messed up. But yeah. Anyway, swiftly James: Yeah. Liam: moving on. So, James: There we go. Liam: like I always say every week, James, we're a new pod until we're not. We're gonna do a quick rundown of the show. We're gonna do a quick couple of minute review of each game. We're then gonna go into our fantasy pickups for the week. And then we're gonna pick our our winners and losers of the week on what we think's happening. So without further ado, let's get into it. And we're gonna start with the Houston Texans at the Jacksonville Jaguars here in London. The Texans sneaking it at the end with a 34 points to the 31 points at. The Jaguars. So as I said, this was in London. Loved all the vibes. Loved the Corgi races. Loved the drinks. I had the Jaguarita on tap, you know, nice blue little margarita James. but James: I think I saw a photo of that. It had like a wafer in it with the Jags logo or something. Liam: Yeah, had the Jag, you know, the all the branding was on point. And the game was on point. This is a high scoring high scoring game in London. I mean, 34 points to 31 is actually just it's quite a ridiculous back and forth game. although watching the game, it didn't feel like the Jags are reaching their potential. The Texans felt efficient and they was, they were spreading it about like Marvin Harrison Jr.'s just turned up hitting him, Nico Collins. Noel, they're getting the running game going, Woody Marks. CJ Stroud's looking closer to the rookie CJ Stroud, efficient scoring points. he did throw an interception at the end, nearly, nearly, nearly changed the outlook of the game. We'll get onto who did that in a minute. Jacksonville Jack Uers, a lot of things seemed painful. They looked like they can move the ball, but they just had these Drops like Brian Thomas Jr., two key drops. He got benched and didn't come onto the pitch for the whole of the second half. these are just things that are killing you. On about the halfway line, it looked like it was on the edge of Cam Little's distance for a field goal. They decided to go for it on a fourth and four, I believe. And they it they've been they could only seem to run the ball consistently, and then again another drop. So The Jags just felt frustrating all day. That being said, they had players turn up, Parker Washington taking the ball in. They had Travis Hunter. One play gets a touchdown. The next drive gets an interception. And and and honestly, he actually stood out on the field. He looks like a he just looks so twitchy and athletic, and it's just good to see. all that being said, though, the Texans managed the clock better. They managed the game better. They managed to turn over Trevor at a couple of key points and there's a couple of key drops. And I think overall they were deserved. deserved winners. that being said, James, have you got anything on this? you know, well done. Well done to the Texans. You're not you're not looking like that useless team from a couple of weeks ago. James: Yeah, well done to the Texans. Well done for me for my small bet on the Texans winning. So I had a feeling they would. I I think when I was on a couple of weeks ago, I said when they had Collins back, it changed so much for them. and actually, you know, I'm starting to really, really like you've got Collins, you've got Marvin Harrison who I think he he only needs to be okay. Get a few get a few targets and everything. And Tank Dell, I just saw an alert, he's coming back. So suddenly they've got a decent receiving core. still probably gonna struggle in the running game. But they've got that defense, so I kind of like the Texans. I think they're really going to turn. It's great because they're about to play the Giants, so I wish they were still awful. Liam: Well, small spoiler alert. The other team that Saquon Barkley nearly went to was the Texans. Now, if the Eagles season is over, wouldn't that be something to go and pick up? But, you know, that's just the James: Yeah. Liam: rumour mill. I mean, overall, very exciting game. Marvin Harrison Jr., let's see what he can do. He caught three passes over the middle. And he they looked to look utilise him in the way that he was using college, crosses over the middle. Now he's put on that extra weight of muscle. Like I think that's what he wants to be used for. And he's not running those big distracting routes. And then the other one. We mentioned him before, Travis Hunter. First player since Brian Dawkins in two thousand and two to get a touchdown catch and an interception in the same game. And he looks like maybe this is the turning point where he starts to become the player that they drafted him to be. Don't you? James: And we all remember that back in twenty twenty two when the Dorkster did that. I remember it Liam: Mate, two thousand and two. Nutty. Yeah. I think we was in secondary school, wasn't we? So yeah. Cool. So James: Two thousand and two. Twenty twenty two. Yeah, two thousand and two. Yeah, if that I know. Liam: anyway, on to the next game. And James is gonna be you with the Giants. James: Yeah, Saints, Giants, weird game. especially as a Giants fan, but the Saints I I thought the Giants would win, but the Saints did it thirty four to twenty seven. So high scoring game. It probably probably reflects pretty pretty poor defenses overall, I'd say, as opposed to anything else. But yeah, the Saints played very well. but it was a weird game, especially as a Giants fan, because you know, up until about half time, even into the third quarter, we were just getting trashed. The Giants were not looking good. They were scoring every time they ran, every time they threw, we couldn't put anything together. Jameis unfortunately had I think at least two receptions on the day. Wasn't playing well. Cam Scataboo hadn't, I don't think he got one attempt throughout the whole game. He just stood there like a naughty kid in timeout. Liam: Zero touches? James: Yeah, it's and even worse than that, he did come on the field for a few, but didn't get the ball. So it was almost I feel like it's almost a piss take at that point, but that's a different topic. So Saints did really well. Tyler Schock was looking good, his his hand wasn't bothering him, they scored some points. But then, you know, they benched Jameis, everyone everyone for the last few weeks, I don't know if I necessarily agree with it, but they've been calling for JJ McCarthy. He came in and threw like a monster. He's broken all sorts of records in fourth quarter. Two hundred and odd yards just in the in the the Liam: Meh James: final quarter. Liam: he was on pace for a thousand yards if he'd have played for for a whole game. James: Yeah, it's unbelievable. And so y you know what, like and could have come back and tied it. Really could have. So I think it was good that they didn't down tools and just give up when we were twenty odd points down. likely the tight end is just an absolute monster and neighbours is catching Liam: Based. James: everything. So the there's some real silver linings there. I think it's going to be interesting because like I say, the Giants have the Texans next week, then a bye. So do you keep JJ learning the playbook, roll Jameis out one more time, then have a bye and then bring JJ in? Or do you just go with JJ? I I saw there was a press conference just before we got on and Harbor deliberately didn't name the star. Quarterback, so clearly that's being considered. But yeah, you can only say well done to the Saints because I think they've been playing better than their record suggests. I think they deserved you know a one-and-four team, but they didn't feel like that. and yeah, it was annoying as a Giants fan, but enough silver lining where it's not like I'm depressed for the week. There was enough there to Liam: Yeah. James: keep me going. Liam: I think for me, I hate that Harbor is considering starting JJ. He is saying the Saints who parked their st they took their starters off. They got so they got so much in the lead. I think it might have been 34 points to ten. Something like that. They took their James: Mm-hmm, yeah. Liam: starters off the pitch. Eventually JJ comes on, thrown against backups, thrown against non starters. thrown against complacency. And my worry is now you start JJ next week. He then gets battered by the Texans, who the defense is now being called on to step up. You're gonna maybe rock his confidence. And I don't know. I think I obviously Jameis wasn't having his best game, right? But would JJ James: Mm-hmm. Liam: have had a better game if he started? That open question to you. James: Yeah, I think it's I think it's interesting. The thing with the knocking the confidence, I mean it has to be there 'cause something went wrong wrong for him with the Vikings, but he seems like a confident guy. This nine like if anything Alright. Liam: I mean, they've got he's gone from he's nine took over, nine took over, James: Well it no, this is it's it's the second it's the second Liam: he's ten now, nine plus one. James: it's the second coming of nine. He's eighteen. It's two times nine, his number's eighteen, so that's what everyone's saying. So I Liam: Eighteen James: hate if he ever if he ever says that, like, I am eighteen, drop him straight away. I I have enough of that already. Like I don't care if he's winning. Liam: Drop him straight away. James: It's but no, it's an interesting point about the Texans, but I think the thing is with Jameis you know what you're getting. And actually Jameis if he's throwing if he's throwing aggressively, he's gonna get intercepted. Now, JJ went out. Yes, again to second, like, you know, more of a second team, but he was finding throws pinpoint. If he's throwing like that, he's he's better at scrambling, he's better in the pocket. he's more like Jackson Dart that this team was built for. I think that's the key. Liam: Question Didn't he get intercepted on his first throw? I think he did. We'll skirt past it, James. We'll skirt past it. The I think the JJ Hype is James: Don't know. Well if he did, he got he got it. Yeah, well it i if he did he was just he was made Liam: gonna hit New York hard. James: it yeah will and I I wasn't that I I think he was just being really nice to his teammate Jameis and he's like look I do it too don't worry mate now I'm taking your job boom I think he was just like easing him into the bench spot but yeah like I say overall Saints deserved winners on the day let's see how depressed Giants fans are after next week if if Whoever starts goes out there, in gets battered by the Texans and throws interceptions and then a bye week. But if we win, which I don't think we will, but if we win, then back on the horse. Liam: bit him. But yeah, anyway, so this another prediction that me and Jamie got wrong. Anyway, on to the next one. Ravens who are at the Browns who lost ten points to thirteen. James, it's with you. James: Yeah, ten points to thirteen and the Browns who I think early doors, you and Jamie very understandably had written them off like we should every year, but they are looking decent. They're looking to I mean, you know, a lot of credit, and I hate to do this, has to go to, you know, the Voldemort on the team, quarterback Watson, he's throwing well. Liam: Well, yeah. James: but actually, as you're getting to here, it's I've been most impressed with their defense and rookie wide receivers. It's been really, really interesting. So I watched the highlights of this game and I I feel like the Ravens. Are another one of those machine teams. Like once they get a head of steam up, and you I mean, who is more machine like than Derrick Henry when he gets ahead of steam up? so I started Liam: Yeah. James: watching the highlights of this game, and first quarter, first quarter were just ravens. It looked easy for the Ravens or easy-ish. They they seemed to be moving the ball well, throwing Derrick Henry running, not breaking off as he was, but he was he was running well, and then the the the Browns' defense just tightened things up, they slowed it down. They were like Henry had. At least one, if not a couple of goal line carries, and they shot up, took him at his legs straight down, really impressive. And I think that kick-started the momentum swing from the Ravens. The Browns' defense slowed it up, then they were able to keep that defense up and move the ball pretty well through their rookie wide receivers, and also Jerry Judy, who popped up with a good number of catches. So they could have won it earlier. go on. Liam: They've yeah, no, they've got now so many decent wide receivers that I think they're gonna trade someone. Like, they James: Yeah, I mean Liam: should now, they've got too many. I mean, that being said, as well, I know the the Browns won, and me and Jamie got our predictions wrong on this. We got quite a lot wrong. this rough James: It was tough this week. Tough this week with projections, yeah. Liam: survivor and fantasy week, but yeah, I think with this one. I don't know. We did think that Schwechinger Schweiger was gonna go out. He got he forced a fumble on Derrick Henry, thought Conception was gonna be out, thought a couple more of the defenders and the Browns was gonna be out. So then on game day when they they played, and then you have got Snoop Huntley on the other side, you know, f all all being said, the Browns in the theory, I think, did what they needed to do against a backup quarterback, and you look. Voldemort is paid what he's paid. You're playing against a backup quarterback. You're at home. You got the job done. Four and two Browns on top of James: Do you Liam: the AFC North. So have you got anything else? James: And look I was just gonna quickly say on top of the wide receivers, you know, the rookies, they've also got Harold Harold Fan Fallon Jr. who looks like a very useful weapon, young tight end. So I'd say, you know, tight ends and receivers, they're looking pretty good. so yeah, four and two Browns. Who'd have thought it? Liam: Hey, not me. it is the now four and two Steelers down at the now one and five Buccaneers. Steelers winning twenty-six points to nineteen in overtime. And What to say about this one? Not one for the archives or to revisit. Let's be let's be real about it. Tampa led. gosh, Tampa have not James: Have any Bucks games been won for the Archives this season? Liam: been that good. They've not been that exciting this year, have they? you know, Tampa led 16 points to three going into the fourth quarter. So obviously something's gone wrong. You've you've heard about Aaron Rodgers, has been doing these tests. Some of the young wide receivers, and we're probably gonna hear about him later in fantasy pickups. But Jeremy Bernard has been passing all of Aaron Rodgers' tests. He has been talking about him in press conferences and saying how much he trusts him, how much of a well-developed young man he is, by old man Rogers. and he just happens to then put it on the field. He's got his chance because. So many wide receivers are out for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But not what Jamie calls him Jeremy Bernard, but Jeremy Bernard. He ends up with the game-winning touchdown. And he looked great on the day. Jalen Ramsey also looking good. He sacked Jalen Daniels. I have to say it like that to make sure you know, Jalen Daniels at the beginning and the end of the game to end it. And not much to say about that. A bit of a s a little bit of a slug fest. Both teams went through phases of efficiency. but nothing looks really fluid for Tampa ultimately, even though the defence keep giving them chances. Todd Bowl, Todd Bowles, head coach of the Tampay Buccaneers, has got to be on the hot seat. If they don't win one of the first two games when Baker's back. Then I think he'll be gone. not much to say though, on the other side. The Steelers get their business done. They're joint top of the AFC North. They are just being beaten by the Browns on a tiebreaker. James, did you have much to take from this game? James: Beaten by the Browns. If you're gonna get beaten by anyone, it might as well be the best than the Browns, I'd say I'd say Aaron Rodgers is looking okay. Like I I've not really been a fan of him the last few years for various reasons, but he's throwing it pretty well. And I think you you your point was really well made about Germany, you know, big big Germy. and the Liam: Jeremy. James: fact that once you get Rogers's attention and and faith, I feel like he'll defend you and really feed you. Now I feel like, you know, he's a bit of a diva himself, Rogers, so he could s you could switch off quite quickly. But I noticed you know, he's a rook. Bernard, but last week he had nine targets, this week eleven. That's really good numbers for a rookie. And with Rogers throwing so well, I think it's really interesting. But yeah, the Steelers are a funny one this year. I feel like no one's gonna be saying that they're top of the pack anywhere, but while Rogers is throwing well and they've got, you know, they've got Watt and all those other players, could be a dark horse. Liam: The Steelers are gonna be like graduation, I think. It's like if you pass the test to be a good team, you can beat the Steelers. But if not, I think they're gonna turn the wheel just enough to grind you down and score enough points. I don't know. That's a shit analogy, but we'll I'll work on it. James: I I feel like I feel like that was three different analogies in one, with the graduation or something. Grind the Liam: Yeah, g I think I said grind the wheel. Well grind the wheel. James: grind the wheel at graduation, but somewhere in there I agree with you, Liam: Yeah. James: I think. Liam: Also, I'm my mystic powers aren't failing. I had a team winning with two interceptions and James. Doo doo doo doo doo. Mystic Marshall got it right, but for the wrong team. And you're a bit lost on that one, I think. But my James: Well, I remember that the whole Mystic Marshall. Who was it? Liam: Mo it's me and my prediction was Thank My James: no, you're Mystic Marshall. Liam: prediction was that the Bucks are gonna win and get two interceptions, but it was the Steelers down in Tampa Bay, so half right. Cool. James: So you're good at you're good at predicting interceptions though for one team or the other. So that's maybe that that that should be a feature in itself, who's gonna get two interceptions this week. Liam: Exactly. On to our next game then. And James, it's with you. It's gonna be the Panthers at the Eagles. Panthers winning twenty five points to fourteen. James: think jamie's gonna be gutted he's not here to go over go over this game because it was it was like you say 25 points to car to carolina could have been more because they had a goal line carry right at the end and decide just to kneel it out rather than punch it in but if they got that they would have been into the low 30s so a very dominating win again I saw the highlights of this game and you know I mean Carolina have a lot of injuries they were very good today and very efficient but I think this says more about Philly to be Honest, they you know their O-line's depleted. they've got hardly any running backs. They they had the Damian Pierce on Sunday, and was it Tyson or something? Steals the who was on the Chiefs last year, he got knocked out of the game, the receivers back from hamstrings, and then the hurts news as well. So he didn't play on the weekend, and it's come out recently that he's got blood clots on the lung. Which, to be honest, when you start hearing about like genuine health concerns like that, you start to Really worry for him as a person, you know, above just the kind of sporting aspect. so yeah, Carolina were very good. Tuba Hubbard's just been efficient the whole time. And I think who caught my own the most actually was Jalen Coker coming back and getting nearly 100 yards, but also 13 targets, almost double Macmillan's seven. So is he the number one there? Liam: Well, this is literally what I was gonna say to you. Is Coker, is the Cokeheads getting what James: Mm-hmm. Liam: they need? Is he number one in Carolina? When all wide receivers finish the games that they've played in, if you take that and equalize it, he's the number three wide receiver on the year. When he's been James: Yeah. Liam: in and not injured, that's how efficient he's been with what Jamie calls V nine, which is Bryce Young, as a spoiler alert for anybody else that isn't as addicted to the Panthers as Jamie. So yeah. James: It is that envy isn't most valuable mine. Something like that? I see. Yeah. Very nice. Liam: Not yeah. Instead of MVP. Yeah. I think it's a I think it's a Panthers thing, but James: I think JJ9 McCarthy would have something to say about that. So but we'll we'll see how he develops. No, I agree. I Liam: Yeah, I guess. James: I think Coker, Coker's looking very good. and so I tell you what, if Coke's looking that good, you've McMillan is very talented. Young's throwing well, but that's a really good receiving core. and it Liam: And I think I think people lost faith in Tuba Hubbard going into the season as well. because of what's happened with like last season, coming back from injury, not looking as good as he once was. But I think he's proven all them I'm not gonna say the haters, but he's like proving people wrong. James: Yeah, to to to probably come up with another terrible analogy on this pod, he's kind of like cornflakes, like gets the job done. No one's excited about cornflakes, but you know, when you're really hungry in the morning. Bowler cornflakes just sort you right out. So I feel like he's he's pretty he's pretty standard like that. And the final point I just wanted to make was actually on the Eagles quarterback, McKee, who I'd never heard of, to be honest. but I didn't think he looked disastrous. He made some decent throws. I don't think the Eagles are gonna go anywhere with, you know, someone that random, but it kind of reminded me, just to make this into another Giants podcast, but when What was his name? DeVito came in for the Giants and won a few Liam: Yes. James: games. And you see it every now and then. I think before defense before the defenses have tape on a guy, that actually, you know, if they're decent, they can shock. But surely the Eagles are gonna have to trade for a quarterback unless they are literally gonna just sack it in, trade Barclay away, and go for a like at this point, a top pick. Liam: They have got this guy now called Milton, who is like a got a cannon of an arm that used to be on the Cowboys. But I think he's fresh in. So let's James: that's right. They already did try for him. Yeah. Liam: see. He's interesting. But again, you've got it's hard to truly believe at this point in the season if you're going to be on your backup the whole way. Like you said, you're not catching anybody out for the whole season, are you? So unfortunate Eagles, but we move The next game on the slate, and it is the Bears who win 31 points to 23 at the Atlanta Falcons. And this is the this is sort of well, it's Caleb's return. Caleb returned from his little hamstring injury, which is like the littlest and biggest injury somehow at the same time. And he has been quoting John Wicks like the return, getting revenge, and I d I don't know what to say. But he completed his first 12 passes and looked on fire. Penix not reaching that same standard that he has for the last two weeks. I think Caleb came out, had something to prove. Penix has been proving it. This looked like this game could go off. And the scoreline suggests that there was a lot of scoring, and that's true. the Bears defense and Ben Johnson. Had Penix's number though. He's oddly not that mobile. They dialed up a couple of trick defenses and had the corner blitz come. And they were just hitting Penix. And I think he was just scrambled. so much so. I mean, he's hurt again. And the Falcons have actually signed and they've got rid of Cooper Rush, who started the first few games because that was disastrous. And they've actually just picked up Andy Dalton. because obviously they're in I'm n I don't I I don't wanna say like quarterback hell, but they're in some kind of like quarterback turmoil of some sorts. It's kinda crazy what what's going on with the quarterback James: Yeah. Liam: position in Atlanta. James: And then to for it to be like that and then you bring in Dalton as your saviour is tough times. Liam: The red rifle himself, you know. So yeah, I mean, but the the Falcons have been looking so good. Me and Jamie both predicted this. We both pr we both predicted this to be a Falcons win. And I don't know. Yeah, they I mean, special teams and Falcons as well. Terrible. But pff anyway, we need to move on James: Yeah. All right. Liam: and it is the Jets at the Patriots. James: so Jets at the Patriots. The Patriots win again. Twenty-six points for Jets nineteen. so the Patriots that brings them to four and two. And I'd say straight off the bat, Drake May was looking good again. I think he's really turned it around. He looked like a broken man three or four weeks ago. I think he was literally crying on the sideline at one point when he was just throwing interceptions, not playing well. so he's looking good. He's got his main I say his main weapon back. They've never really Played together because of the injury and he's new, but AJ Brown is back. AJ Brown had a weird game. every time I looked up, there was a bomb throw over landing in his hands, and AJ Brown for some reason just decided to not catch it. So I know he's coming back from an ankle injury, but I think he needs to go and get his fingers checked out because he's has he's lost his grip strength or something. But Liam: Yeah. James: I'm sure that will click in in in time. The fact he's he's still he's he's such a big guy. He only needs a bit of space and then he can just body people off the ball. So I'm sure it'll it'll be all up for AJ Brown. so I think that'd be one to keep an eye on. the running backs were a bit weird with New England as well, because Trevion Henderson last week was reported gonna be out for three weeks with a high ankle. And then someone described him as healing really quickly. He's got the ability to heal quickly, which is a hell of a trunk card. Yeah, like Liam: Yeah, I've s I think even like I think it's like the medical staff have said that. Which is weird, right? James: some type of like different sells or something. I don't know. It's a funny thing to say. But having said that, he came back from a three-week injury in about three days. So maybe they're right. but yeah so he played. Unfortunately fumble didn't play that much. So I think he he probably wished he sat. So the ball mainly went to Ramando Street Stevenson plus. I didn't note his name down but there was a third running back that came out of nowhere. So hopefully not a three-headed you know workhorse backfielder. Liam: I haven't got his name either, but they raised him off the practice squad because I think they thought he wa Henderson James: Henderson might Liam: wasn't gonna play. James: yeah, if he didn't heal quite quickly enough. But he he actually Liam: Yeah. James: got quite a lot of I think after Henderson's fumble it was like fifty fifty or sixty forty between that chap and Stevenson and he did pretty well with it. So one to keep an eye on. on the Jets side, I think Braylon Allen continued to do pretty well, I seem to remember, with Bruce Hall out. But yeah, I've gotta say not that much seemed to it was stuck out to me whenever I kind of clicked over to this game. but you know, Jets aren't winning anything this year. I don't think New England are either, but they're up to four and two and got a bit of momentum, so good for them. Liam: I mean, yeah, four and two. I mean, after the start of the year that they had, and now Drake May I mean, I don't think they're playing that well, but Drake May, you know, he just needed a bit more confidence. I think you play the Seahawks in the Super Bowl, get battered, then you James: Mm-hmm. Liam: st you have to think about the All off season, like that same defense, that same thing that happened to you. And then and then you play even worse. And I think maybe it was a bit of a confidence. Do you know? I think he just got battered twice with a big long goal time to think about it. And he's still young. but yeah, James: Yeah, I I I and I I reckon his confidence as well. He came into the season with Big Daddy Brown coming to help him out, like, don't worry, don't worry, Drake. Throw to me. First game, boof, out for a few Liam: Gone. James: weeks. So it that kind of helped as well. But yeah, he looks to have shaken that off. He he looks like a resilient chap. So it doesn't surprise me he's bouncing back, but yeah. Liam: I mean, talking about AJ Brown and his drops and some of his struggles as well, because Dubs has been struggling James: Don't Liam: a bit, and then he's stepped up the last couple of games, and he's now just gone onto the IR as well. So p people need James: Yeah, so Liam: to step up. Drake May, like we said, he's a young man, he's talented, he he needs a bit of help. But one thing to just mention about the other side, it was Omar Cooper Jr.'s first game of the season. And he looked really good. Six yard six yards. That would be terrible. He got si six James: Six yards. Six yards. Very good. Liam: receptions for over a hundred yards and a touchdown. So, you know, James: Mm-hmm. Liam: the Jets have got some pieces going on, and I think in a way, I'm maybe happy that they're actually showing something, but they're probably gonna get a high draft pick in this. I mean, I think it's gonna I think the narrative's gonna change by the draft, judging by what I've seen in college football. But this is that quarterback dream draft. So we'll see. every time. They got a couple James: I've heard that for so many years. It it's funny, yeah. Liam: of big names though. I think there's the guy that didn't come out into the draft in the end who probably might have gone number one. And then they've also got Arch Manning. So there's two James: Yeah. Liam: big names off the bat already before any late risers. So yeah. Who let's see the Jets. I mean, I don't know. The Jets. They James: Yeah, who knows? Liam: need a cult. anyway. I won't speculate on the future. and now we're actually on to the last game of the early window. And that is the Titans who won with twenty-six points at the Indianapolis Colts with you, James. James: Yeah, so the Titans won. So it's another team with no wins managed to get one. Liam: Jamie, you don't Sorry, James, you don't sound happy enough that the Titans won. Is this not a miracle? James: Well, I'm happy for then, but Liam: The Lord Saviour came once and then the Titans won in this season. That's James: Yeah. They did yeah, they they they they did. no it was a good it was a good victory as well, twenty-six points and at the Colts. honestly I don't really know how they did it, to be honest, because they they I know one they literally I don't really know how they did it. I even watched the highlights and I'm like the scoreboard tech kept ticking up and was like They haven't scored though, but they have they got the you know, they they they got one of the defenses rang it in from a fungal to give give them a defensive score at one point I remember seeing. But yeah, it it seems like really the Colts should have won that game. I think they're faltering a bit, which is a bit odd. I don't think that Daniel Jones is playing particularly well. He's reminding me more of the Giants days at the moment, where he's he's scrambling around but not super successfully. He's still throwing a f you know, he's getting a few throws in, but he just he looks to have lost a bit of that confidence when he was playing really well last season. I think he's missing not having Warren and to a degree Pierce on the deep shots. So he's he's bombing the ball down there, but not quite moving. on the other side of the the ball there, Jonathan Taylor's still looking amazing. so it's hard to see why a team couldn't beat the T Tennessee when the Tennessee doesn't seem to have scored and you've got Jonathan Taylor. But yeah, I think Tony Pollard, another pretty good get day on the ground. and the one thing I will call out here, which, you know, in the grand scheme of things, probably either won them the game or contributed for it, was there is an insane interception on Daniel Jones by Amani Hooker, where Jones was rushing down the right-hand side. Rare for Jones to rush and then still throw behind the line of scrimmage. I always used to say he just pins his earbuds and goes, he doesn't keep his eyes up. Liam: Mm-hmm. James: The one time he actually kept his eyes downfield, he threw the ball, it bobbled off at least one person, and then as I say, Hooker reached out with his feet inbounds and caught it and just froze as he slowly like tumbled down like the leaning tower of Pisa. but it was an insane catch. Yeah. Liam: Love those. Love those little toe tappers. James: it was it was unbelievable because it it was a toe tapper but he almost had to reach but keeping his toes on the ground so very athletic, caught the ball. and hey, in a in a close game, who's to say that they wouldn't have won or if they didn't didn't have that interception. So as you can tell, really exciting. Titans won. They got the got the win on the board. and yeah, Colts probably just have to forget that and move on. Liam: Yeah. Sa I have to apologise. I said I would be gobsmacked if the Titans won a game this season. Consider me gobsmacked. Consider me gobsmacked. Yeah. Do you know what? James: They had to they had to win one. Yeah. Liam: Consider me gobsmacked. I think I just don't know who I could imagine it being was my problem, right? and I mean off the back of this, I mean the Colts have fired their general manager, Chris Ballard. He's gone. And I have seen they've had like they've James: Yeah. Liam: had like new quarterbacks basically every season going back. till like two thousand and eighteen. Like they've just not been settled. They've not been grey. And I mean it's it I think James: Well they Liam: it I think it's time. He's had a job he's probably had a job there for the lack of success for too long. so yeah. Breaking slash James: And I I I think he Liam: not breaking news. James: But it was breaking for me. I hadn't heard that. I think also it's a shame for him that last season he did that Source Gardener trade when they were really on fire, traded away a lot of assets. And you know what? It was expensive at the time, but they were doing so well. It's do we just need this secondary piece to win the whole thing? And then after that, well, they didn't have several injuries, including Jones, and they'd already traded away. So it it's broken in a in a tough way for them. But unfortunately, when you're in that GM role, you're Paid to make the right to to make the gambles, and you're also paid for them to pay off, even if it's a bit of luck. So yeah. Liam: You gotta win the gambles. I got a question for you. So I think it I'll be and I I don't know your opinion on this. So today, I mean they won. Nice. 26 points to 20. They got a big special team return on a punt from DK, 58 yard return, which helped for one of the touchdowns. They got a block punt, which is returned for one of the touchdowns as well. So this is obviously great. In your opinion though, James, let's say the Titans have a high draft pick next year. Do you think Cam Ward is a franchise quarterback? James: I mean right now, no. I'd say the only thing that's probably going his way is the fact that if you look over recent years, there's been a lot of quarterbacks who haven't looked very good. I'd say Caleb Williams disappointed and he's really now coming into it. I'd say Bryce Young was awful for a year or two and now's Liam: Mm. James: coming into it. So hey, JJ McCarthy, maybe he's good. so Liam: Eighteen. James: yeah, yeah, two X two X9. so I I I I think it will be a question they'll have to ask themselves depending on who's there. But at the same time, is it worth sticking with him? I'd say the biggest thing with Cam Ward when I see him is it just looks like he hasn't got used to the pace of the NFL. He's still taking his time, easy around. And it it just it looks like he needs to, I don't know, take some smelling salts before he's round and just try and try and like pick it up a bit. And hey, he's clearly got the traits and the skills. Like he was I remember when Giants won a few of those games at the back of that season a couple of years ago. We were gutted because we were on for the number one pick. We thought we'd get Cam Ward. So it's it's funny how things break, but I I thought I lost you there. The so I think I'd stick with him. I think I'd stick with him or trade him away if anyone else really liked him, but I don't know if you just layer first round pick Liam: Yeah. James: after first round pick. Liam: I think I think I agree. I think if you if they ended up with the number one, they could trade back. I that's I think that's the way you got you got to James: Yeah. Liam: stick with somebody at some point. Yeah. James: Yeah, trade trade back. You've got carnal take. I'll say as well. Or invest in the O-line. If he's slow, if he's not used to the pace, give him more time. Maybe that's what you need to do. So like that's what I'd consider. Yeah. Liam: Well, look at the Raiders this year. They invest, they over, over, over invest in the center and they look a lot better. onto the next one. And it's our first one of the late window. And it is going to be the Cardinals who win with 18 points at the LA Rams with 16 points. who are both teams now at two and four, but with the tiebreaker, that puts the Rams at the bottom of the Galactico division, the NFC West What can I say? I think they were saying James: Yeah, crazy. Liam: it on commentary. You don't usually win a game with field goals. And that is what happened today. The for whatever we say, the Cardinals didn't get a touchdown. They had Chad Ryland, who may get a shout out later and the Cardinals defense. that had allowed 148 points in four games. They held the number one offense to 286 yards. And that's it. The Rams couldn't get it done. James: Is that is that st statistically number one offense, or just what people say? Prior to this game. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The Galacticos, yeah. Liam: They're the superstar team, James. It has to be the one of us, but you know what they have moved. I mean, look at their game against the bills, the bills, the Rams lost because they didn't back their offense to keep going last, last week. They were literally passing it downfield to Pukinukua with like no hesitation. And I don't know what it was, but the, the Rams just couldn't do it against this defense. There's a really good clip of a of a Cardinals defender who got asked about the Super Bowl favorites, the superstar team themselves being like, they're you're gonna have to play this team twice this year. And the defender said, Yeah, yeah. And they have to deal with us. And this guy got clipped up onto social media. He got hung out to dry by not just like the clickbait people on social media, but also by the big ESPNs, like all those different channels that do the, they even put him on James: Maybe. Liam: being like this defender is feeling himself. And you know James: Yeah. Liam: what? They've, they've, they've beaten, they've beaten the Rams and the Cardinals fans have got to be buzzing about that. James: Well, they've gotta be buzzing and then also going, We wanted those high picks 'cause I don't think they're hoping for any type of win. So I reckon it's a bit of a mainly sweet, but bit of a bit of bitter sweet. then again, sometimes if you're gonna sneak wins, sneak against the best teams and enjoy the day. So yeah, I agree. unbelievable. Yeah. Liam: have a big drink up. Yeah, I mean, a little bit of injury news. Devontae Adams ended the game with an injury in the last minute and a half. And it looks like he, I think I just got a news alert saying that that looks like it might be an actual ham, proper hamstring injury. So yeah. James: Did you see it? He was he was running a route into the end zone, no one around him, and just pulled up and then went off. Like those non contacts when you're running like that and it his age Liam: Yeah. James: as well. Yeah, Liam: That's what you worry about with these old receivers. James: I tell my uncles that every morning. my god. Liam: I mean, one thing is, they got rid of Marvin Harris and junior, obviously. And since they've got rid of Marvin Harris, junior, their wide receiver one has not really been present though for the Cardinals, which is a, which James: Mm-hmm. Liam: is kind of a crazy bit of a mystery. James: Did you see why though? Liam: Tell me. James: I I don't know the exact stats, but there was something about I don't think 'cause it's Wilson, I don't th Wilson was saying he's never faced double team. Cardinals offences don't shut him down. Since Harrison's left, he's been double teamed. And he came out with a quote and said, It's really hard to separate when you've got to beat more than one man. he said, you know, I'm up for the challenge and everything, but it just shows like even Harrison underperforming there was creating space for other players. It's just there is potential threat. So it will be interesting to see how Wilson adapts to that because it's looking like if you shut Wilson and McBride down, I mean, how else are they gonna score? They won't, they'll just kick. Liam: Yeah, they'll just kick like today. I mean, we said to pick up Bourne in fantasy a couple of weeks ago and when they said they're getting rid of Marvin Harris and he looks like he's getting a lot of those Wilson receptions now. So there we go. James: I I think he's been born again. Liam: But love that. James: There we go. Liam: mean, one little fun one was they obviously got a new goal kicker. James, did you see what happened to him? James: yes, very funny. But bless him. Bless him trying. But yeah, I I I think I I'll let you tell the story, but the funniest is the comparison with their old kicker to the new one, and then this happens. Liam: I know they need a they need the thicker kicker back and they need be making tackles. But yeah, he obviously goes to make a tackle early in the game. He gets spun around like Wiley Coyote or the Tasmanian devil. And then he ends up injured blue 10 done for the game. And then that punter ends up being their kicker who who did kick a field goal, but they was avoiding it for the game, which is James: Yeah. Liam: just quite funny. So yeah. James: Is but that that new kicker, I I I didn't quite know I didn't realize how big their old kicker was. I I forget his Martin Mar he had I can't remember his name now. but he was like 260 pounds, like he is a big 18-odd stone bloke, and now the new guy is 150 pounds. That's so that yeah. Liam: Yeah, he's like, he's five foot seven and he's so little. It's yeah. James: It's impressive he can kick so far, being that small. He must have a very good technique. But I reckon his advice should be don't try and tackle, just walk off. Cause I think he's credit to him, but he's done his team a disservice by trying. That's it. Liam: Yeah. Blake. Groupie. That's what he's called. But shout out to the punter, Ethan Evans, who did kick a field goal and maybe he's a solution, but we'll wait and see. on to the next game. And it is the Bills at the Raiders. The Bills winning 33 points to 30. Sorry, little cough there. But yeah, what can we say? We've said this all year, Josh Allen is the number one player in the league, the number one weapon in the league. is, at this point, he's probably the MVP. All jokes aside about Bryce Young, sorry Jamie, but Josh Allen, probably the MVP. They go to five and one in a close game. That being said, it just doesn't feel like... anybody really wants to help him. I mean, James: Mm-hmm. Liam: he's getting a little bit of help with James Cook, who's got a little bit of a, I don't know, he has had some fumbles this season, bass kickers and field goals. I need some of these wide receivers to step up more. Kian Coleman started to step out a little bit. That's quite nice to see. But like Shakir, don't know. DJ Moore, we need like He, he is, he's killed me in fantasy in one of these leagues. They're waiting until partway through the early window to say that he's not going to play. And I can't even sub him out of my fantasy. And I'm like, I'm trying to drop. you know, So yeah, CJ Gardner Johnson, like ejected for spitting at Brock Bowers. Like why are these players spitting? But like the Bill's defense. This is going to get them this year if this Bill's defense can't start doing more. I mean, some of the stuff that Josh Allen is doing, he's like juking out of two, two tackles and doing like a side pitch to throw touchdowns, which is just, I don't. James: If people haven't seen that, Google it now. Go on YouTube, Josh Allen throw. It was un I I found myself, Liam: It doesn't look real, James. James: I know. I was, it looked like he was like scared of getting tackled and just wanted to throw it away. And then it went over a defender. It went absolutely miles. You know how strong you have to be to shop put a ball like that that far? it was literally a shopper. It was like a blop. Liam: Yeah, just solid shot put. James: I I was watching it and I just kind of like cried out like, my god. yeah, you've got to look at that. Liam: Yeah. And I mean, and that's what I mean, like, and this one, like, that's what that's the one that Cain Coleman took core. And I'm like, that's not really a wide receiver step. It's good, but it's not like a wide receiver stepping up and taking control of a game on like a wild play. mean, the inception of Kirk Cousins probably might have been the big difference in the game. That Kirk to Brock Bauer's connection is lively. They look good. James: It is, but they sh they shut Bowers down, because I've got I've got him in a fancy league and I was against him, so it's one of those bittersweets when he scores. He had zero receptions, I think, until either the end of the third or the fourth. They shut him down really well. They were covering him. but then he broke out and he's very good. Liam: They did. And that was clearly the focus, but then he still broke out. That's what I mean about that connection. Not, sorry, not a game, not a game, but yeah, but also James: Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I I Yeah. Liam: Trey Tucker. I think he's the number one or number two fantasy wide receiver on the week. Weird fantasy week. You know, so like cut that cousin's dart. What would Don Brady say? That piss missile down the middle. That was like an James: Yeah. Liam: amazing throw. Tucker just. Tucker just is stepping up all the time. This Raiders team James: Do you know? Liam: look, they won't go away. James: No, they I tell you what, I don't have the stats in front of me, but I know again because I had Bowers in my fantasy team. When he's out, Tucker does awesome. I'm almost certain Tucker had 18, 20 fantasy points in the two weeks that Bowers was out. This game, with Bowers shut down for most of it, Tucker's good. Like it does seem to be if you overfocus on on Bowers, all Bowers isn't playing. Tucker seems to be like the second target or or something. So there's an interesting relationship between the two there. Liam: Of a lot of the teams, it's actually interesting. think the Raiders is a little bit not confusing, but they're the ones I know. I know that they've got Trey Tucker. They've got Jack Bech who I think is injured. but I struggled to think who their best wide receivers are. James: Yeah. Yeah, me too. Liam: And with that pause, I think that answers the question. yeah. But anyway, Raiders won't go away. They look like they're a decent team. And I think that's all that they wanted to do is stop being the bottom of the barrel team that they have been the last couple of years. Well done to them. But the bills roll on. onto our last game. No, our last game of the late window, but not our last game to review. And it is the now. and six charges scoring six points at the Chiefs in Arrowhead who scored 22 points who covered their their spread day one by 16 points. Not a lot I want to say about this game. We can get past this one quick. Charges are injured like lad McConkey also went off he played but then he went off with concussion to add to that pile but Not only they injured, they actually just look terrible. The Chiefs, they, I don't know, they're the best team in the league to me. They, if you'd have told me before the season, the Chiefs are one of two undefeated teams. They are... killing teams with their offense. And I'm not even wanting to talk about Patrick Mahomes. Like, Kenneth Walker is now, I think this is what the Chiefs have wanted to do for a long time. He is such a threat that Patrick doesn't have to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders, and then all of the roots can develop. James: Mm-hmm. Liam: And I think that's all you need with the Chiefs. I love Spags can just run up, he can call up a defense. He's going to shut people down and he's going to have moments. And then who at the minute, who's stopping, who is stopping this offense? James: Yeah. I think who is stopping this offense? Who is stopping Walker? He's he's just unbelievable. The yards he gets is the the I think the biggest risk to the Chiefs is if Walker gets an injury because he has got an injury history. And then they've got Emmett Johnson backing him up who's looked all right, but that is a big step down, or at least it's an unknown step down. Then do you Liam: Yeah. James: go back to you know Mahomes of the last couple of years when he doesn't have that out that outball next to him. So but if if Walker stays healthy, I agree with you. They're gonna steamroll. I've just quickly Googled it. December 27th, 49ers at Kansas. That That's gonna be a game and a half. As long as no one's injured by then. Yeah, I was I was I was sitting here thinking, Liam: Good game. Yeah, well, that's it. James: that would be good. So Liam: Yeah, and also, I believe... to stay, I'll play Seattle as well. I think soon, maybe next, I think it James: I think ne I think next game. Liam: might be the next Sunday Night Football. Don't quote me, but that's big. Like, Kenneth Walker revenge game. James: Yeah, I just saw that pop up. October twenty fifth. Yep, you're right. Ooh, I forgot about that. I know. Liam: As a Seahawks fan, I'm not looking forward to that because I don't think anybody wanted to go and I think everybody wanted to use him more last year than they even did. And they've taken any kind of shackles off and look at James: Yeah. Liam: this man go. He's... Wow. James: He charbon it back next week. Liam: I don't know when Charbonne's back, but I don't know. James: 'Cause that would be epic. Cause I feel like Walker and Charbonnet were kind of battling between each other. If you put them against each other, either way, that's going to be a great game. So Sunday night football. Liam: I just like to think that they got on but you know what, there must have been a bit of beef there, right? Yeah. James: Yeah. Yeah, well brotherly rivalry. Yeah, I don't think they didn't get on, but I'm sure they're gonna love to play each other if he's back. So yeah. Liam: Yeah, 100%. But yeah, mean, and I haven't got, do you know what, James, as well? I haven't got anything to say about the Chargers. Are James: No, they're just Liam: they going to win a game this year? James: Genuinely. It's i is McConkey gonna play more than three minutes this year in any one game? It's I don't know. Liam: I mean, also what's going on with this backfield like Amor in Hampton, Vidal and Metchi? No, Mitchell, Metchi Mitchell, Keaton Mitchell, James: V mm Mitchell. Keaton Mitchell Keaton yeah, Keaton Mitchell. Liam: yeah. Like they've got three running backs that they're saying at NFL level. You know what, maybe it is the O-line, but I don't know. Chargers were like such a hot commodity in fantasy before this season started. James: Yeah. Well I think the the problem is I know. They always are and they never do well. really. It's I think the problem for them at the moment is Mitchell and even Vidal are outperforming Hampton, who was meant to be their star boy. And I think they're stuck in the mid- they almost need to, especially while they've got these really tough games, bench Hampton, you're just running them into the ground. Like get him, get him, get him fit, relaxed, bring him out for an easy game, see if that can do it. Like, I'd almost consider that at this point. Liam: I agree. Something's very wrong with this team. I did see a good James: Yeah. I know. Liam: one. I listed Puckett's earlier. They're saying, what is stopping the Rams from just getting the Chargers kicker? Then the Chargers kicker will not have to move or change teams or anything. The Rams have got terrible special teams. Just sign the kicker on the Chargers. Anyway. James: Yeah, I'm not a deal. Yeah. Liam: But that's how little we want to talk about the Chargers. Cool. onto our last game of the day. And we are on to Sunday Night Football where the Cowboys lost to the Green Bay Packers 13 points to 23 with you, James. James: Yeah, and I was So excited about this game for two reasons. One, I thought these are two firing offences coming together. and two, I had loads of fancy assets. I had love on one to be impressed with on the other. So, as it was, it was a pretty good game, but and there were there was lots of throwing, but there were also quite a lot of interceptions and drops in the end. so it wasn't quite the you know 60 odd point game that I was expecting or hoping for. love was looking very good, I think. He was always meant to have a good game against the weak Cowboys secondary, although the Cowboys did have Joey Porter Jr. starting, which who I think will make a difference. And I think he had an okay game. I noticed him a couple of times. love is continuing just to chuck it. He's like one of Golden and Watson are down there somewhere. Usually they catch it. They had a lot of drops today. There were drops in the open field, it was mad. Liam: It was a big drop day across the NFL. Look, you know what? This was James: Yeah. Liam: the worst week of the NFL season this year. James: I think it probably was as well. It was it was just a a little bit under underwhelming, really. So but yeah, I I saw the stat. There were three touchdowns dropped, between two for Golden and one for Watson. Watson's, I was looking, it was a fifty yard throw, bullet straight at him. There were defenders around him and not touching him, and he just kind of he kind of bounced off his hand and went down. Golden had one coming over his shoulder in the breadbasket, just dropped it. So look, they still won because Dallas are struggling a bit at the moment. But I thought even you know, C D and Pickens have had better games. Williams got his touchdown, he's been doing really well. But overall, you know, I think Green Bay are the better team, so they probably deserve the win. They didn't play great, although they have Josh Jacobs returning now. He's I believe he's off the he's off that commissioners list. so unless Liam: Yeah, Voldemort too. James: something else pops up, I think he can play next week. Liam: Yeah, and I think people are picking up on the fantasies as well. If they James: Yeah. Liam: didn't already have him stashed. I mean, yeah, quick one for me. This is I think there's a good there's a good stat about the third downs of this game. Green Bay converted 11 of 18 third downs, the Cowboys converted five of 13. And I think that just shows you what it is. I don't know what's going on with the Cowboys. I thought there's a really good offense and they've just they've just flatlined. James: Mm-hmm. Liam: That's it. They've just flatlined. they didn't. Gervonta Williams has been really good for them this year. This was probably his quietest game when I didn't think he was going to break out. And I think the Packers have timed this season well. think, I mean, they're four and two, so they're doing well. I think it turns out that they were probably, their game plans are probably more affected by those offensive line injuries early in the season, where I think having that much happen to you last second, the plan that you pivoted to at the time didn't work, but given a couple of weeks, big up to the floor, he's actually made James: Mm-hmm. Liam: a plan work and you're putting like the bears to the sword, the cowboys to the sword. And you know what, Green Bay, James: And that's without a running game. They have had no running game, basically. And you're Liam: No running in. Yeah. James: about to get one of the better running backs in the league back. And that's his headshot from all of this stuff. Liam: think he was a top 10, not that fantasy is everything, but I think he's a top 10 fantasy running back last year. James: Yeah, it's the but yeah, I I agree. Green Bay are looking pretty good and pretty exciting. Don't really know what's happened with Dallas. Although I just remembered my stat from before. The Dallas division with the Giants, NFC East, if the commanders lose tonight against the Forty Niners, which I think they probably will, It'll be the first time in I think 56 years that that all four teams from a division have played in two weeks and nobody's won. Because there's been no wins, including playing each other last week. The first time since the AFC and NFC joined and created the NFL 50 odd years ago. Liam: Love that. James: So Giants are top of it, but that's it. Liam: I've got no, that's cool. No, that's a good fact. I've got a cheeky one, a cheeky question for you, James. Who are the favorites to win the NFC East? James: I mean, my my my gut reaction is generally the giant, but of course I'm biased. But when you really Liam: Yeah James: break it when you break it down, I think the Eagles are in a tail spit. I really do. I think they'll scrape some wins, but as it is, I think they're gonna I think Harry Roseman, their GM, is wise enough to realise what's going on and I don't think he's gonna push for this season. I've just got a feeling. The Cowboys Liam: Agreed. James: are good, but I think unless Jerry Porter Jr. can really fix their defence and like you say that they're even their offense is flatlining. I th I don't fear them. I think Washington or Giants are the better the best two teams. I think Washington look good with Daniels back. and you know they've had a few injuries, but I think the Giants can still get it. As long as we don't have any injuries, our offense is looking explosive at times. our defence is pretty big and dominant. So I think it's gonna be a division with poor records overall, but one that Giants could top. That's me. That's that's my call right now. Liam: don't disagree. I love that. Giants, giants for the NFC East. Cool. we're rattle into our last couple of sections. And we're gonna jump into the first one. And it is James, our winners and losers of the week. So who, James, are your winners of the week? James: My my my winner of the week was actually mentioned earlier and it's Chad Ryland, Chaders. so he's the Arizona kicker who scored every single point, 18 of them in the away win against the Rams. I think he's been the starter since last season, so he's still relatively new. but A, the Arizona Cardinals did so well to win, but to go home saying I'm the kicker, I scored every single point for my team today, I think that's an impressive badge of honor that he can wear. So Chad Ryland is my winner. yeah, I reckon so. Liam: Gold star from his mum. Yeah, Chad Rylan, Sorry, James: Yeah. Gold star from his mum. I'm sure she'll Liam: spoke over you. James: I'm sure she'll cook anything he wants for dinner. I bet it'll be one of those one of those treats when he gets home. Liam: Yeah. And then, cool. So my winner of the week is the international London games. Like having gone down, got involved. I just love it. I want to see more. I'd want to see more. The only thing I want is I want, I want London to just get behind the Jags. Forget about all these other teams. The Jags keep coming here and I want to see true home support. But for me. London games are the winners, three games on the bounce. And look what I picked up, James. James: Very nice. Liam: A cheeky little NFL London ball. There we go. James: Did you did you deliberately buy a small ball to make yourself look bigger? Liam: James, think, you know what, I think on the first part we mentioned I could have been a quarterback and it's because of these absolute beefily, James: Is it? Yeah. Liam: beefily massive beefily, what's a big, it's these beef boy hands anyway. I don't think that's the the beef boy hands. There we go. And then, go on. James: Beef boy hands that that'll that'll make the highlights. I'll quickly say before, just because it's just popped into my head, maybe slightly controversial, I don't really know what how to phrase it, but you said, you know, we've had three good weeks of games in London. Aren't they going next week to Paris for the first time? And isn't Paris Liam: Yeah, they got everything. James: basically on fire at the moment? With all the riots. Is how's that gonna work? Liam: I think what's the guy from late? What's the guy from Les Mis? John Javert. James: Yeah, or something Yeah. But he he sings a lot. Yeah they're having a they're Liam: whatever. Yeah, they're doing the full, you know, they're doing the whole French thing. James: having another French Revolution over there, just as the so I I don't know, I I wonder if that'll impact anything, but Liam: True, he's in Paris, the riots are Paris as well. Interesting. James: Yeah, so yeah, one to keep an eye on. Liam: Want to keep an eye on, so yeah, no nice take. And then, and I ruined it, I ruined the tee up earlier. I was meant to go from the, your Cardinals kicking winner to my loser of the week and my loser of the week are the superstars themselves. McVeigh's LA Rams, they are meant to be 6-0, undefeated. Confirmed Super Bowl favorites and they are falling by the wayside. The coaching doesn't look up to scratch this year. The superstars haven't turned up. So my loser of week are the LA Rams. James: Yep, I think that's a good one. And my losers mentioned it before are unfortunately the Eagles. I just think that they're, as I said before, a bit of a tailspin. Four straight defeats for the Eagles. I think it's been I I haven't looked the stats up, but I bet it's been a long time since that's happened. They've had a lot of injuries, and then you know, you know, I wish him all the best in his recovery, but with the Hertz health issues as opposed to an injury, it's just looking tough for them. So they've had a lot of good years, but right Right now they're on my loser list. Liam: Yeah, you know what? think it will maybe allow the Philly fans to see the good side of Hertz and actually appreciate what he was for them. Silver lining. James: Maybe. So let's see what happens if they're not doing well. Yeah. Liam: So when we win, act like we act like Paris in terrible times. so cool. Onto the last segment and we're onto fantasy pickups of the week. Ready for your waiver wires. Ready for your fab. Send me your fab if you need to. James, who have you got for pickups this week? James: So the first person that I wanted to mention is is just to reiterate, really, Kendra Miller on the Saints. I think he's still out there on a fit on a fair number of waiver wires. I mentioned him two weeks ago before the Monday night game and said it's either going to look genius or ridiculous. It looked ridiculous. I think he had one fumble and four yards or something Liam: Heh. James: after his fumble. But since then, he scored last week, he's looked okay. Kamara is looking good, but he's old. A few injuries. I I'm not, I think it's a week or maybe two until Travis Achan is coming back. but even when he does, maybe Miller would have shown enough. So I don't think it's a high upside play, but I think if you're desperate for a running back, I think you could do worse than Kendra Miller for at least the next week or two. Liam: Well, I think he's definitely a bi-week pickup with James Cook and Basil Tooten James: Mm. Liam: going on by. So awesome. And like you said, he looks like he's a vet. He's only rusted, I think about 33%, averaging across the different platforms. So yeah. So I'm going to go onto my first pickup of the week and it's going to be Omar Cooper Jr. From the Jets, their first round pick rookie year. having his first game in 19, just over nine, I think 19.2 fantasy points, only rusted in about three to 4 % of leagues. Come back from IR, he's the wide receiver too in a functional, but working, Jets offense. Fantasy heads had a lot of two. running back strategies going on this year with a shallow position that is the running back. James: Mm-hmm. Liam: So you might be shy on wide receivers. If you're searching, put your fab in and get this man because he looks like he might be, you know, in a game where they lost scoring 20 points as a wide receiver too. That's, that's pretty good. That's my own. James: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Liam: Have you got any more Jamie, James, Jamie, I call you Jamie sometimes. So that's the confusing bit. James: You you do, yeah. Liam: Ugh. James: just one one quick shout out for it's a very confusing running back room at the moment on the New York Giants, but this week Tyrone Tracy was back with a plot. he didn't get a massive amount of usage, although with the Giants being down, the great the game strip script was throw. but he got a receiving touchdown, a rushing touchdown. We mentioned earlier the weird situation with Scatterboo. I think Harbor likes what's his name? the other running back Harris. Liam: Harris? Naajee? Yeah. James: I Najee, yeah, I think he likes him, but I don't think he's effective. So, and a lot of the the the kind of fans I speak to say that Tracy is actually probably one of the most exposed explosive players on the team. So yes, he had that one fumble, which he and he he got some miss miss protection on Dart where he got benched as well. But I think if he can get back into the team, I think he could actually, as opposed to Miller, who I think is a safe s floor play, no ceiling, I think Tracy could have weeks where he doesn't score you any points, but he could have weeks like this. time where he gets you eighteen nineteen. So Tyrone Tracy Junior, I bet he's available in almost everyone's league. or at least a fair few. So I'd keep an eye out for him if you need a running back player. Liam: nice. And then my last fantasy pick them up of the week is going to be Jeremy Bernard. Sorry. Yeah. Jeremy Bernard like to quote Jamie, Jeremy Bernard still available even knowing that he's going to be the wide receiver too for the Steelers. He's still available in about 50 % of leagues. He had 11 catches for 87 yards and game winning overtime touchdown for the Steelers. He's trusted by Aaron Rodgers, the man himself. And I can only see that going up with a good positive performance trusted in, in the game winning situation. take a bow, Jeremy. So yeah. James: Yeah. Liam: I want to throw a couple on there as well, cause I've got a couple of trade targets this week as well. And my two trade targets this week are one. Actually, James, I want to see if you've got one, but my first one is going to be Saquon Barkley with the Eagles potentially wrapping up for the season. He has got to be an asset that they look to trade. I mean, maybe they wouldn't want that, but I bet they could get a third round pick for him just on name value alone. He has been struggling with health issues, but he could go to a, like I said, the Texans tried to get him originally. They need a running game improvement. Seahawks, they need a running game improvement. There are a bunch of teams out there that could trade for a winner right now. So for me, Saquon Barkley, you might be able to buy him on the low from somebody out there. James: Mm-hmm. Liam: My other one, unless you've got one, James, this is on the spot. James: I I've I've got a couple that I can riff on, but you you go first. Liam: My other one is Marvin Harris Jr. On a quick turnaround, he gets three James: that was mine. Liam: catches over the middle, the way he likes to be used in London. You know, people are struggling with their hands in London with the rain. He caught the nice three passes, he's back with his college teammate. I think his role in that offense is going to increase. On top of Colin, Nico Collins being a bit of an injury risk the last couple of years as well. So Marvin Harris Jr. is my other suggested trade pickup. James: Yeah, I was actually gonna say I was looking to to trade for Harrison. I managed to pick him up on one of my waivers. I think the other thing is he's got the Giants this week than a bye. So I think that's going to be a great point to just play one game than a bye. Like you say, he's already got chemistry from back in the day with Stroud. and then after the bye, if you look at the schedule, it's pretty it's pretty good for wide receivers. You've got poor teams like the Chargers, but you've got a few other high-scoring teams where the Texans may have to throw a lot. So schedule-wise, it's good. And the other person that I've been looking at recently, I actually wish he didn't score. score this week because I was trying to trade for him in a few places is Carnell Tate. Now I know we said Cam Ward isn't very good and everything, but at the end of the day he's got high draft capital. He is very good in Tate, not Ward. But their schedule is also on the sweeper app, it's got the colour coded, it's all green. So I think Carnell Tate could be an interesting one to trade for if you could have picked him up cheap. Like I say he scored his first touchdown now so it's a bit harder to get him but Harrison And Tate are two people I would look to potentially gamble on. I don't know who I'd trade away for them. Like, you know, you wouldn't want to, I don't think I'd want to throw a big name, but maybe someone you think is doing well for you and over a Denzel Boston. Would you rather have those two or Denzel Boston? For example. So I don't know where it sits, but yeah. Liam: Yeah. I don't know. The upside of those two excite me a little bit more than Denzel Boston, who's just steady. And I think he's actually like doing really well, but he's just steady. Is James: Yeah. Yeah. Liam: he a league winner? I think Denzel Boston is a safe selection rather than league winner. James: Yeah, I think I agree. And he gets a couple of bombs every game, whereas the other two, if it clicks for them, I can see them getting ten, twelve targets and Armand Ross and Brown type numbers. But I can also see the opposite where they don't get played or Camboard just crumbles. But that's why they're a tradefall candidate, because you might there's risk there. Liam: Hey, and you always say the trades not good if both sides don't feel uncomfortable. there we go. James: That's it. Liam: Anyway, cool. James, that's another game week in the bag. Week six done. Thank you for joining me. How did you find that today? James: Good, good. had a few more notes this time. so that helps on on a few of the games and yeah I enjoyed it. hopefully I've I've kind of thrown a few words in in order that made sense and really I'm just now can look forward, I'm looking at the time to the the Monday night game, and I need Mr. Kittle to score me 13 and a half points, so that's gonna be my focus after this. Liam: And I'm guessing you're supporting the Niners so that, you know, the NFC stays in your giant's hands. So yeah, cool. Well, thank James: Of course. Yeah. Liam: you for joining.
