- 0:14Speaker 1: What's up everybody. I am at Beard Laws podcast. Thank
- 0:17Speaker 1: you for tuning in. If you're looking for a podcast
- 0:20Speaker 1: that talks about beard's, beard care, beard news, really anything
- 0:25Speaker 1: beard related, as well as some randomness, some sports, some jokes,
- 0:30Speaker 1: some music news, a little bit of whatever. Then you
- 0:32Speaker 1: have found the right place. You have found the right host.
- 0:35Speaker 1: So stick with me and we will get you there,
- 0:38Speaker 1: especially my bearded brothers. I got some tips, I got
- 0:41Speaker 1: some tricks. You might be asking yourself beard laws, what
- 0:45Speaker 1: are they? I mean, it's pretty self explanatory, but if
- 0:48Speaker 1: you must know, beard laws are something that everyone should know,
- 0:50Speaker 1: whether you have a beard or don't. The laws need
- 0:52Speaker 1: to be remembered and they need to be enforced, like
- 0:55Speaker 1: beard Law fourteen. If you touch my beard without asking,
- 0:58Speaker 1: I'll touch your butt without asking. It's just common courtesy.
- 1:01Speaker 1: And make sure that all of us bearded guys are
- 1:03Speaker 1: protected and everybody that's out there grabbing bearded boys butts,
- 1:07Speaker 1: you're protected as well. There's laws against it. I mean,
- 1:10Speaker 1: we can issue beard tickets. We haven't had to yet,
- 1:13Speaker 1: but it's a concept that we've been toying with. But yes,
- 1:16Speaker 1: so all of the beard laws have came up with
- 1:19Speaker 1: just sitting around coming up with ideas. Certain people have
- 1:22Speaker 1: submitted them to me. So if you have a stroke
- 1:24Speaker 1: of brilliance and you want your own beard law, email
- 1:26Speaker 1: me Matt at beard laws dot com. You can name
- 1:29Speaker 1: the law. I'll name it after you. Whatever works. And
- 1:33Speaker 1: if you're looking to see a list of all of
- 1:34Speaker 1: the beard laws, check out beard laws dot com. But
- 1:37Speaker 1: what is absolutely amazing I personally think and I think
- 1:40Speaker 1: you're gonna think it as well. People that know what
- 1:42Speaker 1: beard laws is is took this concept of just making
- 1:46Speaker 1: up these silly beard laws and made the website and
- 1:50Speaker 1: have merchandise with the whole intent of raising money for
- 1:54Speaker 1: the Richard Ey Winter Cancer Center, which is Augsburg, New York.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Work at the hospital, so it had a little more
- 2:02Speaker 1: meaning to me. I've had family members, I've had friends,
- 2:05Speaker 1: I've had a lot of people that I know that
- 2:07Speaker 1: have had to sit at the cancer center do their treatments.
- 2:10Speaker 1: And the first thing you're going to notice when you're
- 2:12Speaker 1: sitting there for so long, other than the fact that
- 2:15Speaker 1: you're nervous, you don't know what to expect. The TVs.
- 2:21Speaker 1: They're about thirteen maybe fifteen into crttvs, which are the
- 2:26Speaker 1: old style big long, heavy TVs. They're terrible. The quality
- 2:31Speaker 1: is terrible. And I remember being over there. Family member
- 2:34Speaker 1: of mine was sitting there looking up at the TVs
- 2:36Speaker 1: and he was just like, man, I don't know if
- 2:39Speaker 1: this is a newer episode of Price is Right. I
- 2:43Speaker 1: can't tell if Drew Carey's fat or not. I mean,
- 2:46Speaker 1: they're that bad. And then you would just be sitting there.
- 2:48Speaker 1: They would just turn off, And it was just something
- 2:51Speaker 1: that kind of hit home for me, something that I
- 2:55Speaker 1: had kind of the ball rolling on something. I was
- 2:58Speaker 1: able to set a goal of five thousand dollars that
- 3:03Speaker 1: I wanted to raise. It was the original proposed quote
- 3:09Speaker 1: that the hospital had, but they were unable to fit
- 3:11Speaker 1: in the budget. It just kept getting cut out for
- 3:13Speaker 1: the last two years quote was provided to me. It
- 3:16Speaker 1: was like I said, five thousand dollars, it was going
- 3:18Speaker 1: to be eleven TVs twenty eight inch did a motorcycle
- 3:22Speaker 1: run leather up for cancer Care. Buddy of mine, Chuck
- 3:26Speaker 1: was just just huge. He got the word out to
- 3:29Speaker 1: some biker friends, advertised all over the place. Had a
- 3:34Speaker 1: lot of generous donations from a lot of great people,
- 3:37Speaker 1: a lot of great companies, a lot of great vendors,
- 3:40Speaker 1: so thank you all. You know who you are. And
- 3:44Speaker 1: we actually came up with the idea sitting in his garage,
- 3:47Speaker 1: just having a couple of beers one night and I
- 3:49Speaker 1: was showing them, you know, some of the beard laws,
- 3:51Speaker 1: what was going on with it, and he says, man,
- 3:53Speaker 1: let's do a motorcycle run. Keep in mind, this was
- 3:56Speaker 1: like February cold. We kind of took a list of
- 4:00Speaker 1: all the other motorcycle runs that were going around in
- 4:03Speaker 1: the area and noticed that May eighteenth, nothing was going on.
- 4:07Speaker 1: It could be the first motorcycle run. The weather has
- 4:10Speaker 1: been terrible where we're from. As it got closer, just
- 4:14Speaker 1: cold and rain, and we got really nervous. But we
- 4:17Speaker 1: absolutely we lucked out. We had one of the most
- 4:19Speaker 1: beautiful days of the summer so far, and we were
- 4:23Speaker 1: able to raise twenty seven hundred dollars towards the cause,
- 4:26Speaker 1: which in my opinion, is absolutely amazing. We had one
- 4:29Speaker 1: hundred and fifty six registered riders, which we talked to
- 4:33Speaker 1: a lot of people. Jerry's Run for instance, that's coming
- 4:36Speaker 1: up this summer. We spoke with them and they were
- 4:40Speaker 1: able to on their first one. I thought they said
- 4:43Speaker 1: about forty or fifty bikes, so they're on their seventh year.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Check it out Jerry's Run. Google it, you can get
- 4:48Speaker 1: to the website. It's Jerry's Run for Cancer dot org.
- 4:53Speaker 1: You can preregister now. If you're not a rider but
- 4:56Speaker 1: want to be a part of it, you can register
- 4:59Speaker 1: and they have buses. If the first bus fills, they
- 5:02Speaker 1: will get a second bus. And it's July twentieth at
- 5:07Speaker 1: Bellowbrook Winery and Hammon, so it's a great venue. There's
- 5:12Speaker 1: gonna be some vendor set up there actually raffling off
- 5:14Speaker 1: to give away a couple of motorcycles. Met a lot
- 5:17Speaker 1: of the people that go on the run when we
- 5:19Speaker 1: did our run, and it just just a class act,
- 5:21Speaker 1: a lot of great people, a lot of great people
- 5:24Speaker 1: looking to donate to a good cause. So not only
- 5:27Speaker 1: was ours a success and it's going to go directly
- 5:29Speaker 1: to the community, Jerry's Run for Cancer also they give
- 5:32Speaker 1: back to families that need it for cancer care and everything.
- 5:36Speaker 1: So highly recommend if you're a biker, like I said,
- 5:39Speaker 1: check out Jerry's Run for Cancer dot org. Get preregistered.
- 5:43Speaker 1: If you're looking to help out the cause directly, you
- 5:45Speaker 1: can go to beard laws dot com. Check out the shop.
- 5:48Speaker 1: There's a lot of merchandise anywhere, from shoes that I
- 5:51Speaker 1: can custom make for you, t shirts, hoodies, hats, underwear,
- 5:57Speaker 1: dog beds, towels, flip flops, you damon, it's on there.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Check it out. It also has the sister brandu pun
- 6:05Speaker 1: Intended Sisters for Whiskers. It is an off brand that
- 6:08Speaker 1: was created by a couple of a couple of women
- 6:11Speaker 1: that were a little upset that all the all the beards,
- 6:14Speaker 1: all the beard laws were getting all the love. They
- 6:16Speaker 1: were like, you know, we'd love to buy the merchandise,
- 6:18Speaker 1: but we don't have beards. We don't have to have
- 6:20Speaker 1: a beard to support it, first of all, But second
- 6:23Speaker 1: of all, now there's one for you. Sisters for Whiskers,
- 6:25Speaker 1: also available on beard laws dot com. Check it out.
- 6:28Speaker 1: If you want to donate directly and don't want any merchandise,
- 6:31Speaker 1: PayPal dot me, slash beard laws, or if you have
- 6:35Speaker 1: any questions, any concerns. If you're a business and would
- 6:38Speaker 1: like to join in as a sponsorship, email me Matt
- 6:41Speaker 1: at beard laws dot com. But let's get into let's
- 6:44Speaker 1: get into some beard talk. Often I have a rather
- 6:48Speaker 1: large beard. If you haven't seen it, feel free to
- 6:51Speaker 1: search the internet. It's around, or email me Matt atbeard
- 6:54Speaker 1: laws dot com. Check out the Instagram beard Laws, check
- 6:57Speaker 1: out Twitter, the official beard Law. All right, you'll see
- 7:02Speaker 1: that beard. We're on YouTube beard Laws. We're also I
- 7:04Speaker 1: have a Facebook page, there's pictures, there's everything around. But
- 7:07Speaker 1: the first question I could ask is, dude, how long
- 7:11Speaker 1: did it take you to girl that beard? Well, I
- 7:13Speaker 1: started April of twenty eighteen, So what is it? A
- 7:18Speaker 1: year and a couple of months. And yeah, people just
- 7:23Speaker 1: think that it kind of happens overnight or they think, wow,
- 7:26Speaker 1: that's only been a year in a little bit. But
- 7:28Speaker 1: it takes a lot of dedication. It takes a lot
- 7:30Speaker 1: of time. You might not think it. There's a lot
- 7:32Speaker 1: of people that don't put a lot of care into it,
- 7:34Speaker 1: but once you do, every time you see a beard
- 7:36Speaker 1: that just looks straggly or doesn't look well taken care of,
- 7:40Speaker 1: you will notice. And if you have a girlfriend, a boyfriend,
- 7:44Speaker 1: a significant other, whatever you have, just warn them that
- 7:48Speaker 1: your products are going to take up some room in
- 7:49Speaker 1: a medicine cabinet, it's going to take over your shower.
- 7:52Speaker 1: There is going to be an invasion of some beard stuff.
- 7:55Speaker 1: So be prepared. A lot of people also ask what
- 8:00Speaker 1: I use for products. I can let you know what
- 8:02Speaker 1: I use. I use Viking Revolution shampoo and conditioner currently,
- 8:07Speaker 1: and I'm using the Honest Amish oil. I've tried the Classic,
- 8:10Speaker 1: I'm using the Pure oil. I've also tried the Viking
- 8:13Speaker 1: Revolution oil. Thought it would work great with pairing up
- 8:16Speaker 1: the shampoo, the conditioner and everything together. I didn't have
- 8:19Speaker 1: great results, but I think whether my beard just got
- 8:22Speaker 1: used to it or I got used to it, the
- 8:24Speaker 1: Honest Domish is just absolute money to me. It's my
- 8:27Speaker 1: favorite oil. I've tried several other oils. A couple of
- 8:31Speaker 1: them kind of dried out my skin. It kind of
- 8:35Speaker 1: gave you that beard dandruff. With the Honest Amish oil,
- 8:37Speaker 1: it just just gets in there, just soaks in there.
- 8:40Speaker 1: So if anybody from Honestamish is listening to this, hook
- 8:43Speaker 1: me up. Come on, man, Let's be a sponsor. Let's
- 8:46Speaker 1: work together, let's partner up. Let's let's get you on
- 8:49Speaker 1: the website. Let's get me some samples and uh yeah,
- 8:53Speaker 1: Honestamash check it out. Tell them Beard Law sent you
- 8:57Speaker 1: so one beard laws dot com. There is a special
- 8:59Speaker 1: page called beard Tips, a lot of the information that
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'm going to talk to you fairly quickly about is
- 9:04Speaker 1: on there. I just think it's sometimes easier for someone
- 9:07Speaker 1: to listen to it rather than read it, because, let's
- 9:10Speaker 1: be honest, a lot of us guys we just don't
- 9:11Speaker 1: like to read ladies. If you're looking to help your
- 9:14Speaker 1: man out, feel free to check it out or just
- 9:16Speaker 1: listen for the next couple of minutes. These are based
- 9:18Speaker 1: on what I think, what I've learned from growing a
- 9:21Speaker 1: beard for a couple of years. If you have better tips,
- 9:24Speaker 1: if you have better products, if you have anything that's
- 9:26Speaker 1: working for you, I would love to hear it. I'd
- 9:28Speaker 1: love the feedback. Like I said, medteardloss dot com, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter,
- 9:33Speaker 1: whatever it has hit me up, love to hear it,
- 9:35Speaker 1: love to see your beard. What I'd like to eventually
- 9:38Speaker 1: do is incorporate the podcast. Obviously on beard loss dot com.
- 9:41Speaker 1: There is a fan gallery. If you already own some merch,
- 9:44Speaker 1: email me a picture madatbeardlaws dot com. If you want
- 9:46Speaker 1: to get featured in the supporter gallery, buy something, take
- 9:50Speaker 1: a picture, take a selfie, have somebody take it, email
- 9:53Speaker 1: it to me and we'll get you right on the
- 9:54Speaker 1: front page. With all the other amazing supporters. So the first,
- 9:59Speaker 1: the first piece of advice that I that I would
- 10:02Speaker 1: honestly recommend, is just take your raisors. Put them in
- 10:06Speaker 1: a medicine cabinet, put them away, don't even touch them
- 10:09Speaker 1: all right, You're not gonna need them for a while,
- 10:11Speaker 1: maybe for some touch up if you're part Sasquatch like me,
- 10:14Speaker 1: I grow hair on my cheeks underneath my neck when
- 10:16Speaker 1: I was first game going. I haven't seen my neck,
- 10:18Speaker 1: let alone my chin in a long time, So just
- 10:22Speaker 1: put those away. I highly recommend just not touching the
- 10:26Speaker 1: beard for a couple of months, two three months, just
- 10:29Speaker 1: let it go. It's gonna look terrible, but it's okay
- 10:31Speaker 1: because once you start training your hair, once you start
- 10:34Speaker 1: trimming your hair, it's gonna look amazing. Trust me, trust me.
- 10:38Speaker 1: But you do need to have patience. That is the key. Well, genetics,
- 10:42Speaker 1: I honestly think genetics are a key because I got
- 10:44Speaker 1: a lot of friends they can't grow a beard. Some
- 10:46Speaker 1: people just don't have the gift of growing a beard.
- 10:49Speaker 1: It's okay, but just have patience, all right. Products products
- 10:55Speaker 1: is number two. All Right, you've already listened to what
- 10:58Speaker 1: I use with the Viking Revolution, the honest domagh combo.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Everybody's beard, everybody's face, everybody racks a little bit differently.
- 11:05Speaker 1: So as we get going a little bit later in here,
- 11:08Speaker 1: I'll recommend some of the top oils in the game,
- 11:11Speaker 1: some of the top products, and you know, try them out,
- 11:14Speaker 1: and you let me know, and we can we can talk.
- 11:17Speaker 1: We can talk beard because that's what I'm about, beard talk.
- 11:20Speaker 1: So this is this section beard talk. Probably should have
- 11:24Speaker 1: said that before, but I just kind of thought of it.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna think of that for next time. Beard talk.
- 11:28Speaker 1: So yeah, obviously, women women, they love beards, most of them.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Some of them don't the whole rumor about how their
- 11:38Speaker 1: beards are dirty. They're dirtier than dogs tongues. They're shit
- 11:42Speaker 1: in your beard, No, nother's not. Trust me. Once in
- 11:45Speaker 1: a while, I'm gonna get some food in there. I
- 11:47Speaker 1: can guarantee you there is no shit in my beard.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I can guarantee you that an animal that licks his
- 11:52Speaker 1: own butt and balls and anything else does not have
- 11:56Speaker 1: a cleaner tongue than this beard. All right, I chant
- 12:00Speaker 1: and Jude, we will swab it up. We'll bring it there.
- 12:03Speaker 1: We'll find somebody to test it. You take your dog's tongue.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I'll take my beard any day of the week and
- 12:07Speaker 1: we'll have a contest telling me I'm gonna win, especially
- 12:11Speaker 1: if we get show first. But uh yeah, just let
- 12:14Speaker 1: it grow, like I talked about two or three months.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Don't touch it. Get a good brush, get a good comb,
- 12:21Speaker 1: get a good combo. I had for sale and had
- 12:24Speaker 1: a ton of positive feedback beard laves, brushes and combs.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I'm thinking about getting another order. If not, find yourself
- 12:31Speaker 1: a good bore bristle brush and a nice like wooden
- 12:36Speaker 1: comb with not a lot of spaces but not too tight.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Where as you're going to coma it's gonna get stuck.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Birch Box they have a great handy chart for beard trimming,
- 12:47Speaker 1: so feel free to check out birch box dot com.
- 12:50Speaker 1: It's going to kind of give trim advice, just kind
- 12:56Speaker 1: of gonna help you out. If you are fortunate enough
- 12:58Speaker 1: to live in an area where there as a barber shopper,
- 13:01Speaker 1: there's someone that specializes in beards, I would think spending
- 13:04Speaker 1: the money would be a great investment. Unfortunately, there isn't
- 13:07Speaker 1: anybody in the area within probably two two and a
- 13:09Speaker 1: half hours unless I went over to Canada. I'm sure
- 13:12Speaker 1: there's somebody there. So I have done all my own work,
- 13:16Speaker 1: and the biggest thing I can that I can stress
- 13:20Speaker 1: to you is trim it and use scissors. No electric razors.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I mean, every once in a while a guy that
- 13:27Speaker 1: I work with will come in missing a mustache, missing
- 13:31Speaker 1: the beard, and it's always an unfortunate well that's what
- 13:34Speaker 1: they blame it, an unfortunate incident with an electric razor. Personally,
- 13:38Speaker 1: I think it's the woman in their lives saying, oh
- 13:41Speaker 1: my god, you're beard. It's so grow thank you being damie.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Men No beard Law fifty four. If you shave your
- 13:47Speaker 1: beard for a woman, you don't deserve either. So ladies
- 13:51Speaker 1: get used to it, all right, There's many many benefits
- 13:54Speaker 1: of having a beard and man, trust me, we can
- 13:56Speaker 1: touch on that later. Just let him grow it, let
- 13:58Speaker 1: him be a man, let him be a lumberjack, let
- 14:00Speaker 1: them live, let them live out the fantasy of the
- 14:03Speaker 1: bearded brotherhood. All right. But yes, trim it gently with scissors,
- 14:09Speaker 1: very carefully. What I personally do is I just brush down,
- 14:13Speaker 1: get it the way I want it. Trim you still
- 14:15Speaker 1: got hair sticking up, Trim them up a little bit,
- 14:17Speaker 1: brush it down, trim it up, or you can fluff
- 14:19Speaker 1: it all the way out. See the uneven spots, just
- 14:22Speaker 1: start from the ears slowly on the outside, trim it down.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Coma and coma and trim has worked wonders for me.
- 14:28Speaker 1: That's my that's my personal take. But once you figure
- 14:33Speaker 1: out the trimming, once it starts to take shape, that's
- 14:36Speaker 1: when we got to start talking oils and products. Beard
- 14:40Speaker 1: Oils that contain certain ingredients are obviously going to help.
- 14:45Speaker 1: A lot of them are pretty much the same, but
- 14:48Speaker 1: a lot of them are a little bit different. So
- 14:50Speaker 1: let me get into some of the best rated oils
- 14:54Speaker 1: that I found kind of just reading on a couple
- 14:57Speaker 1: of different sites like the beard Aholic, and I just
- 15:01Speaker 1: kind of took the ratings from, you know, maybe their
- 15:04Speaker 1: top five the other websites top five just kind of
- 15:06Speaker 1: made my own list and also based it off some
- 15:09Speaker 1: of the oils that I've personally used. So let's get
- 15:13Speaker 1: into oil talk, all right. So a couple of the sites,
- 15:16Speaker 1: like I mentioned, was beard aholic dot com as well
- 15:19Speaker 1: as gear Hungry dot com is another good site that
- 15:22Speaker 1: talks about oils and products and stuff like that. So
- 15:25Speaker 1: gear Hungry their top rated best oil with the Bossman
- 15:28Speaker 1: Beard Oil Kit. It's about twenty nine bucks on Amazon.
- 15:32Speaker 1: The link is in beard Lass like I said, on
- 15:35Speaker 1: beer laws dot Com and a beard tips. What's unique
- 15:38Speaker 1: about this kit and I've actually had a cousin that
- 15:40Speaker 1: just started using it. It comes with an oil, it
- 15:44Speaker 1: comes with a conditioner, and it comes with a little
- 15:45Speaker 1: beard bomb. So for the price twenty nine bucks, that's
- 15:48Speaker 1: not too bad. As I mentioned earlier, it's nice to
- 15:52Speaker 1: try to stick with with one vendor, so as a
- 15:55Speaker 1: starter kit, it might be something that you'd like to try.
- 15:59Speaker 1: If you do try, let me know if it works
- 16:01Speaker 1: for you. Like I said, it works very well for
- 16:04Speaker 1: a cousin of mine. Number two from gear Hungary was
- 16:06Speaker 1: of a Verro Beard oil and conditioner. It was currently
- 16:09Speaker 1: sold out on Amazon, so naturally it must be pretty good.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I haven't checked in the last week or so if
- 16:17Speaker 1: it was back in stock. I looked up this information
- 16:20Speaker 1: last week, but as of then it was still out
- 16:24Speaker 1: of stock. But if you get your hands on it
- 16:27Speaker 1: through a different vendor, I'd love to try it. Or
- 16:30Speaker 1: if you're out there and you want to send a
- 16:31Speaker 1: product to me any company, feel free I'll review it,
- 16:35Speaker 1: I'll talk about it whatever you want. Third option was
- 16:40Speaker 1: just your straight ahoba oil. It's a main ingredient in
- 16:45Speaker 1: pretty much every oil, but this was just a straight,
- 16:48Speaker 1: smaller bottle of it, pure organic. It's about fourteen bucks
- 16:51Speaker 1: on Amazon. I've heard mixed reviews on it. It's definitely
- 16:55Speaker 1: going to be very good for your beard, but it
- 16:57Speaker 1: does lack a lot of other vitamins and other ingredients
- 17:00Speaker 1: that can help strengthen your beard, and not only your beard,
- 17:04Speaker 1: but the pores underneath your beard, which is which is
- 17:06Speaker 1: very very key. Beard a Holic, like I said, they
- 17:10Speaker 1: they recently came out with their top five. Number one
- 17:14Speaker 1: was the Beard a Holic. It boosts beard growth, it
- 17:18Speaker 1: doesn't have doesn't leave beards greasy, It eliminates beerd druff
- 17:22Speaker 1: entirely doesn't get that itchiness. Number two was the Honestamish
- 17:27Speaker 1: Classic that I had mentioned that I've used. I agree.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I'm just assuming that Beard to Holic went number one
- 17:34Speaker 1: because their product is going to be number one on
- 17:37Speaker 1: their own list. So Beard to Halic, if you are listening,
- 17:40Speaker 1: please send me a bottle. I'd love to see if
- 17:42Speaker 1: it matches up against the Honest Domish Honestamish Premium is
- 17:47Speaker 1: the longest lasting according to them, and it actually has
- 17:50Speaker 1: some probably some biotin or some some chemicals in there,
- 17:55Speaker 1: not chemicals, but products in there that will help speed
- 17:58Speaker 1: beard growth. And Ringinger was their their number four products,
- 18:03Speaker 1: and number five was Viking Viking Revolution, which I have tried.
- 18:07Speaker 1: It gave a great, great shine to it. It made
- 18:11Speaker 1: my beard feel great, but it just I had a
- 18:14Speaker 1: lot of a lot of issues with control with bigger beards.
- 18:18Speaker 1: It is tough. I do use a beard butter as well.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I use live bearded beard brother beard brother, live bearded
- 18:25Speaker 1: beard butter well. I try to say that five times fest.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I know I'm not going to, but yeah, So that's
- 18:31Speaker 1: that's my that's my combination. Those are the top rated
- 18:35Speaker 1: that I'd highly recommend if you have one that's better.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I know there's some out there some other people have
- 18:40Speaker 1: recommended that they've had great luck for and I can
- 18:43Speaker 1: I can touch on those on a further beard talk.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Now that we've gone over what oils to try, how
- 18:53Speaker 1: to trim all that? How often should you oil? You
- 18:57Speaker 1: got to oil every day, I'm telling you, every single
- 19:00Speaker 1: day with a big beard like mine. Other big beards.
- 19:04Speaker 1: They can attest to this. You're gonna want to oil
- 19:06Speaker 1: more than once a day. I know a couple of times.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Ie oil in the morning. By the time afternoon hits
- 19:13Speaker 1: you can just kind of tell it. It's kind of
- 19:15Speaker 1: soaked in. It's just kind of all over the place,
- 19:18Speaker 1: So apply it as needed. Usually all I do is
- 19:22Speaker 1: put it in a pod of your hand. Make about
- 19:23Speaker 1: a quarter to a fifty cent piece. Yeah, kids, fifty
- 19:27Speaker 1: cent piece. They used to be a thing. Look them up.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Rub your hands together, start at the neck area, and
- 19:33Speaker 1: just kind of stroke the beard, just evenly. Put it
- 19:36Speaker 1: in there. If you want to touch it up with
- 19:38Speaker 1: your beard, bomb your beerd butter, do the same thing.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Get a glob of it, get your hands together, just
- 19:42Speaker 1: get in there. Yes, I'm residue. Throw it in the
- 19:45Speaker 1: chest hair, throw it in your normal hair. Don't let
- 19:47Speaker 1: it go to waste. But yeah, try to apply as
- 19:50Speaker 1: much as you can. The basic roll thumb is twice
- 19:53Speaker 1: a day. If it can't happen, that's fine, but you'll
- 19:58Speaker 1: definitely notice the benefits of doing it. Even if you
- 20:00Speaker 1: do it, you know in the morning or when you
- 20:02Speaker 1: get home from work. Make sure you do apply with
- 20:06Speaker 1: a lightly wetted beard, it will absorb it and it'll
- 20:10Speaker 1: make it look much better some people as well, you
- 20:16Speaker 1: might want to do three times a day. I mean,
- 20:18Speaker 1: if you want to promote hair growth, a clean face
- 20:20Speaker 1: and regular use of beard oil is definitely going to
- 20:23Speaker 1: help your body grow more hair. It's just science. Look
- 20:27Speaker 1: it up. During hot summer months, the beard oil is
- 20:29Speaker 1: going to act like a sunscreen for your hair, so
- 20:31Speaker 1: it doesn't dry out, crack, and eventually break. Just another
- 20:34Speaker 1: great benefit of using oil before you go swimming. Shouldn't
- 20:37Speaker 1: come as a surprise, but chlorine fountain pools and water
- 20:40Speaker 1: parks really damage and dry out your beard, So make
- 20:43Speaker 1: sure you apply oil before you come into contact with
- 20:45Speaker 1: the chlorine. It's going to help with that. If it
- 20:48Speaker 1: does dry it out, just get a little more un after.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Besides potentially harming the proteins in your beard, the essential
- 20:55Speaker 1: oils and premium beard oils are very susceptible to heat,
- 20:58Speaker 1: and their effectiveness can degenerate very quickly if heated, so
- 21:03Speaker 1: store your beard oils at room temperature. You should be
- 21:06Speaker 1: good to go. But yeah, I mean, it's just kind
- 21:09Speaker 1: of common sense. Hear Hungary, They have some more information
- 21:13Speaker 1: feel free to check it out. Now that I've almost
- 21:17Speaker 1: beaten you with a dead horse about the oil talk
- 21:19Speaker 1: and how important it is, I'm gonna let it go.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I'm just gonna let it go like Elsa, all right,
- 21:24Speaker 1: But I just want to touch on shampoos and conditioners.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I did mention earlier. I'm a Viking Revolution guy. Tools
- 21:31Speaker 1: of Men has a great article about their best beard shampoos.
- 21:36Speaker 1: They've got Professor Fuzzworthyes, they've got beard Washed by the
- 21:39Speaker 1: Mountaineer brand, Art Natural's Natural Beard Shampoo, Viking Revolution, Zeus's
- 21:46Speaker 1: Beard Shampoo, Blue Beards Beard Grills shampoo and conditioner set.
- 21:50Speaker 1: So you can. You can find all these on Amazon.
- 21:53Speaker 1: You can. You can go buy the best trated, but
- 21:55Speaker 1: that doesn't always mean it is the best trated. It's
- 21:58Speaker 1: just the most boton, so just do a little research.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I highly recommend going liquid shampoo over bar shampoo. I
- 22:07Speaker 1: just haven't heard great things about people using the bar shampoos.
- 22:13Speaker 1: If they work for you, that's great, But the biggest
- 22:16Speaker 1: thing is kind of trial and error. They're only fourteen
- 22:20Speaker 1: fifteen bucks for your shampoo conditioner sets. You're talking eight
- 22:23Speaker 1: nine bucks for some amis Dot oil. So I mean,
- 22:26Speaker 1: you're looking at thirty bucks, you're gonna get a You're
- 22:28Speaker 1: gonna get a month or two out of it. It's
- 22:29Speaker 1: not terrible to have just an amazing, feeling, amazing looking beard,
- 22:35Speaker 1: because if you're going to grow it, let's be honest,
- 22:37Speaker 1: you want it to look good as always. If you
- 22:42Speaker 1: have any questions any social media, hit me up, shoot
- 22:46Speaker 1: me an email, whatever's easier. Love to get into further detail.
- 22:49Speaker 1: I don't want to talk about it anymore. I do,
- 22:51Speaker 1: but I feel like I've just lost you guys. But
- 22:53Speaker 1: if you're still here, thank you very much. Let's talk
- 22:56Speaker 1: about what's coming up with beard laws, what's new, what's exciting.
- 23:01Speaker 1: As I mentioned earlier, if you don't know about beer laws,
- 23:05Speaker 1: still trying to raise a little bit of money. The
- 23:07Speaker 1: new quote is about seventy four hundred, and then that
- 23:11Speaker 1: was for eleven forty three inch LGTV, So going from
- 23:15Speaker 1: thirteen inch crtvs to forty three inch just gonna blow
- 23:20Speaker 1: some people mind. But I was just recently informed that
- 23:26Speaker 1: there might be expanding to go to thirteen so I
- 23:29Speaker 1: would like to get confirmation on that. If I do,
- 23:32Speaker 1: I'm going to need about an extra thousand dollars, So
- 23:35Speaker 1: there is still room for donations. Anything that is made
- 23:39Speaker 1: on beer Laws doesn't go to me, it goes directly
- 23:41Speaker 1: towards the cancer center. So feel free. Like I said,
- 23:44Speaker 1: check it out PayPal. Whatever is mentioned earlier in the podcast,
- 23:47Speaker 1: I'll recap it in the outro. But another exciting project
- 23:55Speaker 1: that is coming up is a book. I've always had
- 23:59Speaker 1: a concept of one to put out a book. So
- 24:02Speaker 1: what I think I'm going to do is I'm reaching
- 24:04Speaker 1: out to local artists, people that can draw, people that
- 24:07Speaker 1: want to draw. If that is you, please let me know,
- 24:10Speaker 1: hit me up. But I want to take I'm going
- 24:13Speaker 1: to take all the beard Laws that are out there,
- 24:15Speaker 1: the ones that are copywritten, the first one hundred and
- 24:17Speaker 1: fifty or so, and get them into a book, probably
- 24:21Speaker 1: going to be volume one. Stay tuned. It's going to
- 24:24Speaker 1: be exciting. I'm excited. I just envision it as just
- 24:29Speaker 1: the typical dude bathroom reading. Yes, I know it's weird
- 24:35Speaker 1: to sit there and think that a lot of people
- 24:37Speaker 1: might read my book while on the toilet, but you
- 24:41Speaker 1: have to read something, all right. Maybe it's just a
- 24:44Speaker 1: dude thing. Maybe it's just guys that I hang out with,
- 24:46Speaker 1: fellas let me know, but I feel I got to
- 24:50Speaker 1: read something, all right. But he was over here the
- 24:52Speaker 1: other day, had some Taco bell who dearly was paying
- 24:56Speaker 1: for it and forgot his phone, so he just read
- 25:00Speaker 1: a shampoo bottle round two. Taco Bell hit a little
- 25:03Speaker 1: later on grabbed another bottle there. I think he was
- 25:06Speaker 1: reading the Bleach. So if you have any information or
- 25:09Speaker 1: any questions of what happens if you accidentally consume bleach,
- 25:12Speaker 1: it is on the bottle. But you can hit me
- 25:14Speaker 1: up and I'll have my friend give you a shout.
- 25:16Speaker 1: So I just think that the Beard Lost book is
- 25:19Speaker 1: just gonna be an amazing, funny, easy read for when
- 25:23Speaker 1: you're doing your business. Hopefully it can turn into something
- 25:27Speaker 1: way more awesome, like reading some laws to your kid
- 25:30Speaker 1: as they go to bed. Maybe the children can read
- 25:33Speaker 1: the laws themselves. Some of them are very not kid appropriate,
- 25:37Speaker 1: just to be warned. But yeah, that's something exciting that
- 25:40Speaker 1: is coming up. Stay on the lookout for that. And
- 25:43Speaker 1: like I said, if you're an artist and you want
- 25:45Speaker 1: to help out police, hit me up. I would love it.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Also coming up potentially doing a little mini episode in
- 25:53Speaker 1: a series that the Real Slim Yeaesus a Instagram user.
- 25:58Speaker 1: He's also on TikTok. He has going on, so stay
- 26:03Speaker 1: tuned for that, follow him, follow myself. I am forty
- 26:06Speaker 1: four beer. That's forty four on TikTok, Twitter, the real
- 26:09Speaker 1: Beard Law. We're gonna be collaborating. We have a concept
- 26:12Speaker 1: in place. He's putting together a script. We're gonna act
- 26:15Speaker 1: it out. It's gonna be awesome. It's about Beard history,
- 26:19Speaker 1: history Beard. They go together like peanut butter and jelly,
- 26:22Speaker 1: like spaghetti and meatballs. You know. So stay tuned. That's
- 26:25Speaker 1: another another exciting, citing thing that's happening with. Beard Laws
- 26:29Speaker 1: also started streaming brawl Stars. I don't know if any
- 26:35Speaker 1: of you guys play brawl Stars. I'm a dork, all right.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I work at a hospital. I do it. I like
- 26:40Speaker 1: to game out, don't always have a lot of time.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Found that app games are about the only thing that
- 26:44Speaker 1: I have time for. Brawl Stars as perfect for me.
- 26:47Speaker 1: It's a super Cell game. Started off with Clash of Clans,
- 26:50Speaker 1: went to Class Royal Brawlstars came out. It seems like
- 26:54Speaker 1: every time they release a new game, it just kind
- 26:57Speaker 1: of kills the other games for me. I don't know why.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Maybe it's just me, maybe it's you guys, but been
- 27:03Speaker 1: stuck on Brawlstar's fun game. You don't have to overplay
- 27:07Speaker 1: it and overplay and overplay it to kind of, you know,
- 27:10Speaker 1: build your resources up. It's less time consuming, but it's
- 27:14Speaker 1: a lot of fun. There's three v three modes, one modes.
- 27:17Speaker 1: But yeah, stream on Twitch. Please give me a follow
- 27:20Speaker 1: I'm just starting off. Got about nine or ten followers,
- 27:23Speaker 1: bear Nuts forty four. It's got the Beard Laws logo everywhere.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Check it out. Also, I don't know if you guys
- 27:29Speaker 1: know about there's a group of bearded gentlemen that have
- 27:37Speaker 1: a very very good mission something similar to kind of
- 27:42Speaker 1: what I have worked hard for with Beard Laws, but
- 27:46Speaker 1: a much bigger, better, well done established group. I've talked
- 27:55Speaker 1: to a lot of people about them. It was something
- 27:58Speaker 1: like I said, the mission statement just caught my eyes.
- 28:00Speaker 1: It's Bearded Villains Bearded Villains dot com. You can check
- 28:03Speaker 1: it out. They're a brotherhood of elite bearded men from
- 28:06Speaker 1: all over the world. They're dedicated to the Beard Charity, Family, respect, Loyalty.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Their mission statement is to unite bearded men of all cultures, races,
- 28:17Speaker 1: creed and sexuality and a brotherhood devoted to loyalty, honor
- 28:20Speaker 1: and respect toward all people, dedicated the betterment of mankind
- 28:23Speaker 1: through fraternity, charity and kindness. They were established in LA
- 28:27Speaker 1: in twenty fourteen with the purpose of showcasing the bearded
- 28:31Speaker 1: men with character from your next door neighbor to the
- 28:33Speaker 1: supermodel on gqme. The brotherhood has grown worldwide now and
- 28:37Speaker 1: organically took shape of its own. There's chapters in Germany, Canada, Greece, Netherlands, Australia, Mexico,
- 28:43Speaker 1: twenty five states in the US, all over the UK
- 28:45Speaker 1: tod just to name a few. The chapters are active.
- 28:50Speaker 1: They have different activities, different charities, lots of work, support,
- 28:54Speaker 1: respect and loyalty for the Bearded Villain's Brotherhood. I've been
- 28:59Speaker 1: in contact with a scout for several months and recently
- 29:04Speaker 1: I was deemed a beard Bearded Villain. Hopeful I was
- 29:08Speaker 1: able to raise my my flag. I'm very excited to
- 29:11Speaker 1: continue the journey. It's just starting. I can't wait to
- 29:14Speaker 1: get patched as a member be able to go to
- 29:17Speaker 1: some meetups. The world meetup is actually I think August second,
- 29:20Speaker 1: through the force out in LA where everything started. So
- 29:24Speaker 1: I'm definitely gonna try to get out there. So if
- 29:26Speaker 1: there's any other bearded villains on there, what's up, brothers,
- 29:30Speaker 1: Hopefully I'll get an opportunity to meet you guys in LA.
- 29:33Speaker 1: I just got to see how finances and and how
- 29:36Speaker 1: Beard Laws kind of pans out, and with the with
- 29:39Speaker 1: the donations, the timing, the installation, all of that stuff.
- 29:42Speaker 1: So just a great organization. Every single brother that I've
- 29:46Speaker 1: talked to just great people. You'll you'll see them. They're
- 29:50Speaker 1: all over Instagram is the main place where I saw them.
- 29:54Speaker 1: It seems like their main involvement. There's some guys on
- 29:57Speaker 1: TikTok as well, and Twitter and Facebook and everything. So
- 30:01Speaker 1: just an amazing organization, amazing brotherhood. So if you haven't
- 30:05Speaker 1: checked them out, check them out. If you're interested in
- 30:07Speaker 1: trying to be a part of it, just keep reaching out,
- 30:10Speaker 1: get active, find a scout or hit me up and
- 30:12Speaker 1: I can try to recommend recommend mine. So again, thanks
- 30:16Speaker 1: to thanks to mine for working so hard to help
- 30:18Speaker 1: me be a part of an amazing brotherhood. Right, it's
- 30:21Speaker 1: now time for some beard news, because let's face it,
- 30:24Speaker 1: what's better than some news isn't the same old political
- 30:27Speaker 1: the same old, boring, monotonous kind of news. In my opinion,
- 30:33Speaker 1: I know a lot of people are into that, just
- 30:34Speaker 1: in my opinion, it kind of seems like it's there's
- 30:37Speaker 1: a lot of depressing it's the same kind of things,
- 30:39Speaker 1: and it just kind of bums me out. So what
- 30:41Speaker 1: I do is I try to find news that involves beards.
- 30:45Speaker 1: So recently a buddy of mine sent me over a
- 30:47Speaker 1: link from the Ledbible dot com about how genetics expert
- 30:53Speaker 1: finally explains why so many non ginger people have ginger beards.
- 30:58Speaker 1: So I'm just kind of looking at it like, huh,
- 31:01Speaker 1: I guess I kind of am intrigued because like, if
- 31:04Speaker 1: you look on my beard, the bottom of its orange,
- 31:06Speaker 1: there are certain patches that just turns bright orange. I
- 31:09Speaker 1: don't have any family members that I'm aware of at
- 31:12Speaker 1: all that are gingers or have any type of ginger traits.
- 31:17Speaker 1: According to ancestry dot com, I am twenty five percent Irish,
- 31:22Speaker 1: but I don't I can't see any redheads and any
- 31:26Speaker 1: foreseeable future any family members that I have met on
- 31:29Speaker 1: either side of my family. So quick little bullet points
- 31:34Speaker 1: from the article here. It was funny they made a
- 31:36Speaker 1: little joke and it's like, if you look at the
- 31:37Speaker 1: beer and you look and you got some ginger in,
- 31:40Speaker 1: you don't worry. Your mother wasn't with the milkman. There's
- 31:44Speaker 1: actual scientific evidence that supports what's going on. So, according
- 31:49Speaker 1: to this expert, in order to have red hair, an
- 31:54Speaker 1: individual needs to have two copies of the same gene,
- 31:56Speaker 1: one from their mom and one from their dad. However,
- 31:59Speaker 1: for ginger beard, a person only needs just one copy
- 32:02Speaker 1: of that gene, which means that if either of their
- 32:04Speaker 1: parents has it, even if they don't have red hair,
- 32:07Speaker 1: then they're going to end up with a hint of
- 32:08Speaker 1: auburn and their facial hair, which I just kept reading
- 32:14Speaker 1: into because neither of my parents have any red hair.
- 32:18Speaker 1: But I'm guessing my dad's side that was Irish at
- 32:22Speaker 1: least had the gene in it, which is pretty interesting
- 32:26Speaker 1: stuff to me, at least I think. In the scientists name,
- 32:30Speaker 1: I'm sorry you're probably never gonna hear this podcast, but
- 32:32Speaker 1: if you do, I do apologize for butchering your name.
- 32:34Speaker 1: But it appears to be Petra hake Bloom from her
- 32:39Speaker 1: for Centrum, the Dutch National Information Center of Genetics and
- 32:43Speaker 1: Hereditary Traits. Apparently, he said that generally speaking, people inherent
- 32:49Speaker 1: hair color not only from their parents, but also from
- 32:51Speaker 1: their grandparents and even early ancestors. The genes that determine
- 32:55Speaker 1: hair color are also called incomplete dominant hereditary traits, that
- 33:00Speaker 1: there isn't one single gene that's dominant over the rest,
- 33:03Speaker 1: but all genes influence each other. So it's entirely possible
- 33:06Speaker 1: that one distant ancestor had a hair color that suddenly
- 33:09Speaker 1: appears again through a certain combination of genes, and that
- 33:13Speaker 1: can be quite unexpected for parents. So if you've been
- 33:18Speaker 1: wondering why you have that random, that random ginger spot
- 33:22Speaker 1: or ginger hair, I always thought, honestly, like it was
- 33:25Speaker 1: just from the sun or the hair getting too long.
- 33:28Speaker 1: It was gonna go a little bit orangeish, and then
- 33:30Speaker 1: it was just gonna start turning gray and white. Maybe
- 33:34Speaker 1: I have a couple more years with the black and
- 33:36Speaker 1: obviously the ginger. So to any of my great ancestors
- 33:40Speaker 1: that carry this gene, thank you very much. It's a
- 33:42Speaker 1: little weird, but I'm proud to have a little bit
- 33:44Speaker 1: of that ginger. In other news, Portland has proposed new
- 33:48Speaker 1: standards for beards, tattoos and education for officers due to
- 33:52Speaker 1: a very big shortage. Apparently, Portland police officers may soon
- 33:57Speaker 1: be allowed to grow beards, as long as the facial
- 34:00Speaker 1: hair doesn't interfere with their job performance or does not
- 34:02Speaker 1: interfere with the proper fit of protective equipment. The proposed
- 34:06Speaker 1: beard policy was Announcednesday, among a package of changes the
- 34:09Speaker 1: BEREA is making to deal with a critical shortage of
- 34:12Speaker 1: officers and recruiting challenges. Well, that's just great news. I mean,
- 34:17Speaker 1: there's no need to ever fear a police officer with
- 34:20Speaker 1: a nice beard, you know, it can it can't interfere
- 34:24Speaker 1: with equipment and this and that. But I mean it's
- 34:28Speaker 1: not a Viking. I mean, if there was vikings coming
- 34:31Speaker 1: at us, there's reason to be a little bit worried.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Or if there's pirates coming at us, like real legit pirates,
- 34:36Speaker 1: there's a little bit of a worry. But a beer
- 34:38Speaker 1: a police officer that just screams, that just screams, absolutely innocent,
- 34:43Speaker 1: absolutely absolutely calming. But maybe it's just me. I don't know.
- 34:49Speaker 1: So that's what we got for beer news. Pretty exciting stuff.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Glad I could educate you if you're in Portland, you're
- 34:57Speaker 1: looking to be a cop, don't want to shave. You
- 35:00Speaker 1: can be a cop now probably make some good money too.
- 35:03Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go ahead and wrap things up. I
