- 0:03Speaker 1: When the drops all eyes.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Become well, big tournament has a big tournament has had
- 0:24Speaker 2: one hundred or more altered already now and that's how
- 0:27Speaker 2: keep in Arizona, Like, well, yeah, not anyway us.
- 0:32Speaker 1: You know, COVID kind of killed a lot of stuff,
- 0:35Speaker 1: you know, like.
- 0:36Speaker 2: You're Mike is doing that thing for me.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a little bit wavery, but I think I
- 0:46Speaker 3: don't think an issue for the recording.
- 0:49Speaker 1: So I don't really know what's going on. I have
- 0:51Speaker 1: a full bar connection, Like nothing is going on. I
- 0:56Speaker 1: listened to the.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Last Yeah, there's like a every time.
- 1:02Speaker 1: That's probably because my phone. My phone's too close to
- 1:07Speaker 1: my mixer and it does that. Is that better?
- 1:09Speaker 4: Still doing it?
- 1:11Speaker 1: I don't got anything else.
- 1:12Speaker 4: It's like I don't know.
- 1:14Speaker 3: It's like it's like Netflix, you know, not being able
- 1:18Speaker 3: to with stand the traffic last night entirely. That's what
- 1:23Speaker 3: your voice sounds like.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know how to tell you. Like everything's
- 1:26Speaker 1: plugged in proper. Nothing's crazy.
- 1:30Speaker 4: It's a little bit robotic y at times too.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Well, hopefully it changes, because what's weird is it doesn't
- 1:36Speaker 1: do this in my server just saying.
- 1:44Speaker 2: And like I said, stage or any of these other
- 1:48Speaker 2: new channels were created by Z, so if they're set
- 1:51Speaker 2: up wrong, it's Z's.
- 1:52Speaker 4: Fault, not mine.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Probably are set up, yes, but that's neither here nor there.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I whitched my name on the Unique Conversation because it
- 2:05Speaker 2: was Ogre. Ogre is not here. But we're just painting.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Do you sound really tinny and hollow? Is that what
- 2:12Speaker 1: it is?
- 2:13Speaker 4: Yeah? Kind of. I wouldn't say it's hollow.
- 2:16Speaker 1: It just echo sounds like ooh talk some more echoey talk,
- 2:23Speaker 1: some more. No, that's that's that is like real good,
- 2:27Speaker 1: that's like normal. Lookie, Yeah, I don't know.
- 2:29Speaker 4: I didn't.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't do anything.
- 2:31Speaker 4: So said did you.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Did you rattle the cage and some more hamsters started
- 2:37Speaker 3: running the wheel to get a little faster.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I busted out my tiny whip and I was like,
- 2:41Speaker 1: go faster.
- 2:42Speaker 4: They were made.
- 2:48Speaker 2: You sound perfect and we can understand, all.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Right, perfect. So we're going to do this the old school,
- 2:56Speaker 1: a c way off the cuff of our fucking pant.
- 3:00Speaker 1: What's going on, everybody, I'm the one, the only the
- 3:03Speaker 1: w O O K. I E still tired from our
- 3:06Speaker 1: last weekend. Clearly, according to the last episode, I don't exist.
- 3:12Speaker 4: It's nice to meet you, Wi you all, Cole.
- 3:16Speaker 3: You're doing an awesome job at voicing these other characters,
- 3:19Speaker 3: keeping up because too.
- 3:22Speaker 1: But we work. We are a few misfit shorts of
- 3:25Speaker 1: a happy meal this week. But who we do have
- 3:28Speaker 1: is we have Dexter hell that we have Zach.
- 3:34Speaker 4: How's it going?
- 3:35Speaker 1: And we have coal.
- 3:38Speaker 2: And also Ogre and z today Hello everybody.
- 3:41Speaker 1: No Ogre no z z is sicky pool his wife's
- 3:45Speaker 1: spoon feeding him chicken noodle soup. Maybe I don't know.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Can he eat chicken?
- 3:50Speaker 4: No, she's not there by himself.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Oh so he's gonna be by the time somebody finds him.
- 3:57Speaker 1: It's likely.
- 3:58Speaker 4: It's likely.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Man, that's not good.
- 4:03Speaker 2: At least it's twenty twenty four in door Dash and
- 4:05Speaker 2: Uber eats exists and everything. Maybe he'll survive.
- 4:09Speaker 1: But boy, howdy, we got tons and tons and tons
- 4:12Speaker 1: to go over. I mean honestly, like we got we
- 4:15Speaker 1: do the unique of the week and why suck a
- 4:19Speaker 1: key forge man, I don't even know if we want
- 4:21Speaker 1: to go over this. Like, honestly, I.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Was gonna say I put it, put a penny in
- 4:28Speaker 3: the jar because you just like Keith Forging, I really
- 4:29Speaker 3: oh you did.
- 4:31Speaker 4: It's so so habit, right, it is just.
- 4:33Speaker 1: A habit, but like whoa mind blown gone Wawoo players
- 4:40Speaker 1: something like just crotch shopping all week, just to all
- 4:45Speaker 1: the Woo players out there. Huge news coming out of
- 4:51Speaker 1: altered robin Hood has been modified. He's been erotted, he's
- 5:00Speaker 1: been banned, he's been he hasn't been banned.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Hold on, I mean nobody's nobody is playing robin Hood
- 5:09Speaker 5: as it is.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Now. All right, are we jumping? Are we going to
- 5:12Speaker 4: be at the unique of the week?
- 5:13Speaker 1: We're going right in the metal lines man, Like this
- 5:15Speaker 1: is there's too much going on here? I yeah, jump
- 5:19Speaker 1: right in?
- 5:20Speaker 4: Go all right? All right?
- 5:21Speaker 3: So the medal line this week is why Wao has
- 5:25Speaker 3: been lowered from an st here two possibly a minus.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Other people might disagree, but that's okay. They can be wrong.
- 5:33Speaker 3: So so the big thing after the article is at
- 5:37Speaker 3: least unaltered. November fourteenth, robin Hood's ability massively changed.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Yes, let's go through those real quick. So the changes
- 5:47Speaker 1: are as such. So robin Hood used to read cards,
- 5:52Speaker 1: your opponent plays costs one more, right, and that's for
- 5:57Speaker 1: the rare ability. Yeah, what was the common ability? I
- 6:00Speaker 1: thought he had a character character. So now robin Hood
- 6:05Speaker 1: reads as such for the new version. For the common
- 6:08Speaker 1: characters your opponent play cannot cannot cost less than two.
- 6:13Speaker 1: If they do, they cost two instead. The rare is
- 6:17Speaker 1: cards your opponent plays can't cost less than two. If
- 6:20Speaker 1: they do, they would cost two instead. And then they
- 6:24Speaker 1: go into this like kind of mini paragraph. You need
- 6:27Speaker 1: cards that used to have robin Hood's ability now have
- 6:30Speaker 1: the new court And I was curious. This was the
- 6:32Speaker 1: one that I was the most curious about because like,
- 6:35Speaker 1: obviously there's unique robin Hoods out there, how do you
- 6:37Speaker 1: around all of them?
- 6:39Speaker 5: Like, you know, change, just change the text that says
- 6:44Speaker 5: all cards cost one more to.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You need cards that used to have the robin Hood's
- 6:50Speaker 1: ability now have the new corresponding ability instead. Unique cards
- 6:54Speaker 1: will only use the short version of the text. Characters
- 6:58Speaker 1: your opponent's play cannot cut less than too cards your
- 7:02Speaker 1: opponent play your opponent plays cannot cost less than too.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Yep.
- 7:07Speaker 5: So this just completely makes the double text unique robin
- 7:11Speaker 5: Hood's worthless because it does nothing now.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I mean, it makes it makes any character or card
- 7:20Speaker 3: that had this ability like massively less useful at this point, right, Yes,
- 7:25Speaker 3: So The big thing is like this was interesting, is
- 7:28Speaker 3: that they talked about that in their testing right. They
- 7:31Speaker 3: have a very thorough article about how it originated, how
- 7:35Speaker 3: it changed, what they saw recently, and why they decided
- 7:38Speaker 3: to go with this change. And one of the things
- 7:39Speaker 3: that they had was that it would used to be
- 7:41Speaker 3: like a five cost or something like that, and that
- 7:43Speaker 3: it wasn't seen very much play because of the cost
- 7:46Speaker 3: and the stats were low. Well, with this ability, you
- 7:49Speaker 3: basically just made a card not playable or lack there.
- 7:53Speaker 3: You know, you're not really going to get the utility
- 7:55Speaker 3: out of it. The only way that I ever see
- 8:00Speaker 3: is getting played anymore because it's only effects just a
- 8:04Speaker 3: handful of metadecks right now. Right it affects Turbosus and
- 8:13Speaker 3: Sigi to Siggy has some cheaper cards that they like
- 8:16Speaker 3: to play. The only way that I potentially see this
- 8:20Speaker 3: in the future getting played is if they the game
- 8:23Speaker 3: itself all out of sideboard, uh to where you could
- 8:25Speaker 3: switch in and out. But they had expressed earlier that
- 8:29Speaker 3: they don't have a sideboard and they don't plan change in.
- 8:32Speaker 4: That for right now.
- 8:32Speaker 3: So as it is, robin Hood basically is going to
- 8:37Speaker 3: be taken out of all war Root decks, yes, which
- 8:41Speaker 3: will probably make the game play a lot more balance friendly.
- 8:48Speaker 4: It's true. It's true. It's true.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Now with with that being said again, as it started off,
- 8:53Speaker 3: probably Waru as it was going from an S tier
- 8:56Speaker 3: hero back down to an A minus puts it on
- 8:59Speaker 3: love with some of the other you know, potential six
- 9:03Speaker 3: to eight other meta decks that are out there right now,
- 9:07Speaker 3: There are there are, it's.
- 9:11Speaker 2: The meta line section, right. Even though we're combining a
- 9:15Speaker 2: lot of parts of this into the robin Hood discussion,
- 9:18Speaker 2: I am going to be the one the anti ortist
- 9:22Speaker 2: person to say from the outside, I still see a
- 9:28Speaker 2: ton of ways that robin Hood is viable as a
- 9:31Speaker 2: Muna player. It is still disruptive when you're playing Tasia.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Your spindles are gonna get hit, Your shrooms.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Can get hit.
- 9:40Speaker 2: They can't get this go down any more than two
- 9:45Speaker 2: with your Meadow, So it kind of hits Meadow a
- 9:48Speaker 2: little as well. I mean even some even some like
- 9:53Speaker 2: Novenka and Arak cards and decks are kind of hit
- 9:56Speaker 2: by Robinhood.
- 9:58Speaker 1: How it is now, Well, just just because y'all chose
- 10:03Speaker 1: bad heroes doesn't mean.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Well, see what all.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I'm saying is all of these Waroo players and Robin
- 10:11Speaker 2: Hood fans are acting like it's the end of the
- 10:14Speaker 2: world and all you got to do is use your
- 10:16Speaker 2: head of it.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Why am I still hungry?
- 10:19Speaker 2: I players aren't used to it?
- 10:21Speaker 1: But well, I mean, because here's the deal, right, because
- 10:24Speaker 1: like with with the change, right, and this is a
- 10:27Speaker 1: big change, right. I really sure this was the change
- 10:32Speaker 1: personally I was hoping for, like some something along these lines.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I think they crushed it too, by the way, addressing
- 10:39Speaker 1: it like this, really, Robin Hood's not meta anymore, right now,
- 10:45Speaker 1: robin hoods kind of irrelevant, like you will not really
- 10:49Speaker 1: like I know you're saying, like, oh, it affects the
- 10:52Speaker 1: there's still there's still uses. But the problem is with
- 10:55Speaker 1: the game with no sideboard, like you have to just
- 10:59Speaker 1: imagine and well, it only really works against what five.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Here I would even say five, I would say about three,
- 11:07Speaker 3: I would say. And that's the thing, like, you're not
- 11:10Speaker 3: going to play a deck that only addresses yes, yes,
- 11:15Speaker 3: because if you do, guess what, Kojo is going to
- 11:17Speaker 3: come and stop all of your face. Any kind of
- 11:20Speaker 3: Tajo that is playing any kind of bigger dragons, guess
- 11:22Speaker 3: what they're going to just get to stop all over
- 11:23Speaker 3: your face, like it's not going to be productive. We've
- 11:27Speaker 3: talked about this in other card games before too. You
- 11:29Speaker 3: don't play a deck or you don't bring you know,
- 11:32Speaker 3: a specific card collection to beat one specific deck, to
- 11:36Speaker 3: be TechEd against one deck or one type of deck, right,
- 11:39Speaker 3: because against everything else, you're going to lose.
- 11:42Speaker 1: And that's what well is about a week ago you did,
- 11:45Speaker 1: but now you don't anymore, right exactly.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Well, I think that is still fair to say, and
- 11:51Speaker 2: at the same time, I think it's just a testament
- 11:56Speaker 2: to how many tools are an artist has that because
- 12:01Speaker 2: of the robin Hood change, they're like, oh, now I
- 12:03Speaker 2: just don't put robin Hood in my deck. Where if
- 12:06Speaker 2: it were something like a change to Hydra somehow, I'd
- 12:12Speaker 2: be like, well, shit, I still have to play Hydra
- 12:15Speaker 2: when I'm playing Muna, you know mm hm, Like I
- 12:19Speaker 2: don't have Attorneys, I don't have Ozma, I don't have
- 12:22Speaker 2: all this other stuff in my toolkit.
- 12:25Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, and that's why, like I said, Italy,
- 12:29Speaker 3: it probably goes from an S tier Hero down to
- 12:32Speaker 3: an AUS along with the other you know, top end
- 12:35Speaker 3: meta decks. It you know, it just it definitely got
- 12:39Speaker 3: that step up about that above everybody else that had
- 12:43Speaker 3: taken out from underneath of them. And now, like you said, yeah,
- 12:46Speaker 3: that is one thing like Ze and I had been
- 12:47Speaker 3: talking about there for a while, like if Robin does
- 12:50Speaker 3: get nerved, where does our deck go and what does
- 12:52Speaker 3: it look like? And I know he's been tooling around
- 12:54Speaker 3: for you know this this last couple few days or
- 12:57Speaker 3: whatever about potentially changing out some of the cards.
- 13:00Speaker 4: We had talked about switching out and I don't know.
- 13:02Speaker 1: That was my next question for you, Like, I mean
- 13:05Speaker 1: it was three rares in your deck, like where do
- 13:09Speaker 1: you wear? I mean, there's a lot to talk not
- 13:11Speaker 1: the contact still in the article, but where do you
- 13:13Speaker 1: go from here?
- 13:15Speaker 3: One of the things that we had talked about was
- 13:17Speaker 3: going to replacing two Like so we have two rares.
- 13:21Speaker 3: A lot of people might have three rares or whatever
- 13:23Speaker 3: or even zero rares based off of robins because they
- 13:25Speaker 3: have good uniques. We had talked about going from taking
- 13:29Speaker 3: the Robins out as rare and putting into potential Kellen
- 13:33Speaker 3: burst or even archivists at rare for you know, keeping.
- 13:39Speaker 4: At all.
- 13:40Speaker 3: And I had talked about that again, we're just testing
- 13:43Speaker 3: out to see what's going to happen. Yeah, the only
- 13:45Speaker 3: reason why it would be in there is to keep
- 13:46Speaker 3: the character count high, but also the bureaucrats as well.
- 13:51Speaker 5: I would actually bring back in Counsel at Common and
- 13:54Speaker 5: then upgrade frog prints to rare.
- 13:57Speaker 2: So you guys are both saying they that he already
- 14:02Speaker 2: did and it's already in the tracker.
- 14:05Speaker 4: I think.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Unfortunately we don't have a ton of games tracked because
- 14:10Speaker 2: he did get sick. But if you go into the tracker,
- 14:13Speaker 2: you can click on his deck. He has rare Kellen Burst,
- 14:18Speaker 2: rare Frog, Prince, rare Attorney, rare cets, and then rare
- 14:24Speaker 2: Bountiful Meadow.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Yeah. I was gonna say, what are the bountiful metals?
- 14:29Speaker 4: Is putting that mean?
- 14:30Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:30Speaker 4: From two to three that was a choice.
- 14:32Speaker 5: Put back in another Bountiful Meadow for sure.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I from once again from the outside, I think there's
- 14:41Speaker 2: potential that we actually see scarier warrior decks come out
- 14:46Speaker 2: of this, just from a point of like having I
- 14:52Speaker 2: don't know, I'm not, no, I'm not, I'm not ogre
- 14:56Speaker 2: war is actually not my boogeyman. But just like you know,
- 14:59Speaker 2: things that be born out of you know, necessity or
- 15:04Speaker 2: you know, having to get creative. I think there is
- 15:07Speaker 2: potential where something new props up. That's pretty strong.
- 15:13Speaker 4: For sure.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I mean it's it's always a possibility, right because now
- 15:17Speaker 1: this makes the Wahoo player go figure something else out, right,
- 15:21Speaker 1: any anytime a card gets banned, like the player who
- 15:24Speaker 1: did that has to go figure some stuff out. Now.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean you're you're taking three cards out
- 15:30Speaker 3: and now you have to make the other decisions and
- 15:32Speaker 3: kind of like how you had said goal like it
- 15:35Speaker 3: it unfortunately ortis Robin or excuse me, Waru Singi. They
- 15:39Speaker 3: do have options to fall back on, and now it's
- 15:42Speaker 3: too to see to test to see what is the
- 15:45Speaker 3: best of those options. Because robinhood was such a great
- 15:48Speaker 3: card right like as it well I shouldn't say great
- 15:50Speaker 3: apologies apologies, such a strong card right as it was before.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Now it is it is TechEd against only just a
- 15:58Speaker 3: handful of decks. And again that is not the way
- 16:01Speaker 3: that you're going to win.
- 16:02Speaker 1: If not how you win many games, you might win
- 16:05Speaker 1: a few, not a lot.
- 16:07Speaker 2: So yeah, just just looking at all the removal on
- 16:11Speaker 2: this deck at Zia's bill is scary.
- 16:14Speaker 3: So yeah, like I said, we talked about that quite
- 16:17Speaker 3: a bit, and uh, it'll be interesting to see how
- 16:20Speaker 3: it goes through testing.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm really glad. I waited to build Waho till after
- 16:27Speaker 1: I have it all in my cart still too. Just
- 16:30Speaker 1: like hanging out, I'm like, I'll just buy it when
- 16:31Speaker 1: I come back because I won't see it. And we
- 16:34Speaker 1: were we were opening another box. I was like, oh,
- 16:36Speaker 1: we'll see what I get the rares, you know, see
- 16:37Speaker 1: what all comes out of that, because I you know,
- 16:40Speaker 1: I don't have a ton. I got a number, but
- 16:43Speaker 1: I've got a ton. And I was like, I'll just
- 16:44Speaker 1: buy whatever I need when I get back. And then
- 16:47Speaker 1: I think this was Monday, right, this is no number fourteen,
- 16:51Speaker 1: so you Thursday, Thursday, Thursday. And they just are like, yeah,
- 16:55Speaker 1: we're just gonna dump this year. And I don't know,
- 16:58Speaker 1: like Scoed went on fire, and I don't know, like
- 17:04Speaker 1: a couple of days, I don't know if everybody's burning
- 17:06Speaker 1: their robin Hood cards. Now. Maybe they are, maybe they aren't.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I don't know, Like I have seen at least two
- 17:13Speaker 2: different people say I am selling all of my cards.
- 17:15Speaker 2: I'm getting out of this game, because you.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Know, it's amazing.
- 17:18Speaker 1: It is such a BS statement, like every time, like
- 17:22Speaker 1: a couple, and you know, like, I hope it's one
- 17:27Speaker 1: of those people that spent a bucket of money on
- 17:29Speaker 1: a unique rap. Now like that rounded, right, And this
- 17:34Speaker 1: just proves to you that like, like these are just
- 17:36Speaker 1: pieces of cardboard, right, no need to spend three hundred
- 17:40Speaker 1: and fifty dollars on a unique that may not be
- 17:43Speaker 1: the same. And you know what, I don't even feel
- 17:46Speaker 1: sad for those people. I honestly don't. I don't, I don't.
- 17:49Speaker 1: This is like the same thing. This happened in Key Forge.
- 17:52Speaker 1: A bunch of people like started buying stuff before they
- 17:55Speaker 1: even knew it was gonna happen. And then they're like,
- 17:57Speaker 1: oh man, now I'm sad. It's like you knew this
- 18:00Speaker 1: was going to happen, right, And you couldn't look at
- 18:02Speaker 1: Robin Hood and not go like, oh yeah, this this
- 18:05Speaker 1: will probably change. There's no way they just continue to
- 18:09Speaker 1: let you get away with this for forever.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Well they even addressed it is that they are looking
- 18:14Speaker 3: into the potential of to see what happens with it, right.
- 18:19Speaker 1: So, like you said it, so they not only did
- 18:21Speaker 1: they say it, so if you bought anything after that fact,
- 18:24Speaker 1: you were stupid and that end, but not only that,
- 18:28Speaker 1: Like in card games period dot, end of story. If
- 18:31Speaker 1: you have any experience in card games whatsoever, like even
- 18:36Speaker 1: just a little taste of it, you know, eventually, like
- 18:39Speaker 1: if there is something that is absolutely busted that is
- 18:43Speaker 1: bad for the health of the game, more than likely
- 18:46Speaker 1: the creator is going to be like, hey, we need
- 18:48Speaker 1: to change this. That way, everyone else who's not playing
- 18:53Speaker 1: Blue can also have fun, Like you should just like you,
- 18:57Speaker 1: this should just automatically pop into your head and be like, yeah,
- 19:00Speaker 1: this isn't staying for forever, so yeah, we'll go ahead.
- 19:04Speaker 6: Sorry, Oh, I was just going to say there were
- 19:05Speaker 6: there were multiple tracked instances of people who didn't want
- 19:11Speaker 6: to play the game anymore because of war and robin hood.
- 19:17Speaker 2: So if they showed up to a local and guys,
- 19:20Speaker 2: if you're playing at a local and someone's new, like
- 19:23Speaker 2: come on, why are you going hard on them? First thing?
- 19:27Speaker 2: But there there was actual feedback like I stopped playing
- 19:31Speaker 2: the game because this happened to me.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Right, I mean, and that those are going to happen.
- 19:35Speaker 1: So for every one person's like selling my collection, there's
- 19:38Speaker 1: probably like five others, you know, But is the damage done?
- 19:41Speaker 1: Is the question? Like can you get those people to
- 19:43Speaker 1: like reel it back in and like come back now
- 19:47Speaker 1: that this do they even know this change is happening.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Nobody knows. That's that's well.
- 19:53Speaker 4: I do want to say.
- 19:54Speaker 3: What is interesting to me is we've talked about this
- 19:57Speaker 3: before a little bit about how because the game is
- 20:00Speaker 3: and digital. They they released the article on the fourteenth
- 20:04Speaker 3: and the effective date and this is in the article.
- 20:07Speaker 3: The effective date started the next day, November fifteen, And
- 20:10Speaker 3: then they talked about with print on demand and you know, like, obviously,
- 20:14Speaker 3: since print on demand isn't working right now, that you
- 20:16Speaker 3: would have to still play.
- 20:20Speaker 4: What did they say?
- 20:20Speaker 3: For this reason, we are allowing players to play with
- 20:22Speaker 3: the pre random version of the cards for now, you
- 20:26Speaker 3: know you should and then like you have to disclose
- 20:28Speaker 3: to your opponent.
- 20:28Speaker 4: But at the same point, like you know.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Well, right, you play with the physical cards, but like
- 20:33Speaker 1: still the ruling is the same, like you can't still
- 20:35Speaker 1: use the card, right right, So yeah, I'll read that.
- 20:39Speaker 1: It's a little blurb. But since print on demand as
- 20:41Speaker 1: a service is not available yet, there's currently no way
- 20:45Speaker 1: to play in paper with post rodom versions of the
- 20:48Speaker 1: card impacted by the decision for this reason we are
- 20:51Speaker 1: allowing players to play with the pre Irodom version of
- 20:54Speaker 1: their cards for now. If they do, when they play
- 20:56Speaker 1: the card, they will be required and is close any
- 20:59Speaker 1: changes to the hard to their opponent and allow them
- 21:02Speaker 1: to access the information by scanning the card. So very
- 21:07Speaker 1: very easy, right, and then once print time demand comes,
- 21:11Speaker 1: y'all can buy your new copies or however that's gonna
- 21:15Speaker 1: if you even want to at this point, I don't know.
- 21:18Speaker 1: At this point, maybe you're just Yeah.
- 21:21Speaker 2: There were there were people that So we have this
- 21:24Speaker 2: conversation on like episode one or episode two where we
- 21:28Speaker 2: classified that there were two camps of people. The camp
- 21:31Speaker 2: that most of us on the cast were was they
- 21:33Speaker 2: are changing Robin based on what they said, they just
- 21:37Speaker 2: don't know how yet. But there was another group of
- 21:39Speaker 2: people that were like that we just said they ought
- 21:42Speaker 2: about it.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Yeah, they didn't say there was like yeah, it was.
- 21:46Speaker 4: It was not.
- 21:49Speaker 2: I mean, they were outside.
- 21:50Speaker 1: They were gonna do it, but they were thinking about it.
- 21:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:55Speaker 2: And then there were there was absolutely someone in the
- 21:57Speaker 2: discord that was like, I spent four hundred dollars on
- 22:00Speaker 2: a Robin card last week. What the hell's like?
- 22:04Speaker 4: That is?
- 22:04Speaker 1: Like, why why would you do that knowing what was
- 22:09Speaker 1: and very problem.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very hard to have sympathy when you know
- 22:14Speaker 2: four hundred dollars could go a long way for a
- 22:17Speaker 2: lot of people.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Be more of a benefit than one guard fours. It's
- 22:22Speaker 1: like almost that's a little that's a little under half
- 22:24Speaker 1: my rent.
- 22:26Speaker 4: Yeah, to say it, but.
- 22:29Speaker 2: The timeline to kind of bring it back on point.
- 22:32Speaker 2: They also already took feedback. They're like, Okay, we understand
- 22:36Speaker 2: we acted too fast this time, so next time this happens,
- 22:40Speaker 2: we got it. We got your feedback. But there was
- 22:44Speaker 2: also leading up to this a ton of complaints about
- 22:46Speaker 2: how they hadn't announced what was happening with Robin. Yeah,
- 22:50Speaker 2: but knowing everything that goes on on how they change
- 22:54Speaker 2: it and getting ready for that and then having it
- 22:58Speaker 2: go pretty dang smooth once they announced its awesome. They
- 23:02Speaker 2: had to change all the cards on digital, all the uniques,
- 23:06Speaker 2: and then they had to make sure it got over
- 23:09Speaker 2: to BGA correctly.
- 23:11Speaker 1: And see this decision was very well.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Yeah, because they're like, I have a tournament on Sunday
- 23:20Speaker 2: and you guys only gave us twenty four hours notice,
- 23:23Speaker 2: and now I can't.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Play any any kind of timeline people would complain about, like, yeah,
- 23:28Speaker 3: we're going to complain to complain, that's that's how the
- 23:31Speaker 3: world works.
- 23:32Speaker 4: And that's just they could have given three months.
- 23:35Speaker 1: That is, you had your time in the sun. Aw,
- 23:40Speaker 1: you had your time to shine, right, you got you
- 23:44Speaker 1: got to kick around, kick around the plebeians for like
- 23:48Speaker 1: a month and a half two months. Aw, Now you
- 23:51Speaker 1: have to slum it like the rest of us and
- 23:52Speaker 1: play fair. Aw don't I don't feel.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it just to me, Yeah, it seems like a
- 24:02Speaker 2: lack of wanting to figure something out or try, Like
- 24:06Speaker 2: you copied a deck list and we're going to take
- 24:10Speaker 2: it to a tournament and that deck list that you
- 24:12Speaker 2: just copied from somewhere doesn't work as well for the
- 24:16Speaker 2: tournament anymore, which I mean honestly, like I'm not the
- 24:22Speaker 2: most competitive player. I'm not the best player on the
- 24:24Speaker 2: cast by far, But that just tells me that you
- 24:28Speaker 2: also aren't really willing to put in the time and
- 24:32Speaker 2: thought to be super competitive.
- 24:35Speaker 1: So it's like, well, and with most CCGs, that's kind
- 24:38Speaker 1: of I hate to say this, that's kind of the uh,
- 24:42Speaker 1: the status quo, go get deck from online by cards,
- 24:45Speaker 1: build deck. I mean that's what I did. I ain't
- 24:47Speaker 1: gonna lie to Ale. Yeah that's what I did. I
- 24:49Speaker 1: just you know, we were I was still in the
- 24:52Speaker 1: middle of a totally different game season and was focused there.
- 24:55Speaker 4: So yeah, there's nothing wrong with that. You know.
- 24:58Speaker 3: The net decking is has and will all continue to
- 25:02Speaker 3: exist for card games, like you said, forever, and it's
- 25:06Speaker 3: just it is what it is.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I just I obviously do whatever you want,
- 25:11Speaker 2: build whatever you want. But that is really the only
- 25:14Speaker 2: reason that's an issue is because you did that and
- 25:18Speaker 2: now you have three days to change your deck. And
- 25:21Speaker 2: I don't know because to me, it's like it's three cards.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Maybe you're uniques that you have to swap out. And
- 25:29Speaker 2: if you if you aren't thinking about those kind of
- 25:32Speaker 2: things ahead of time, maybe you weren't going to place
- 25:35Speaker 2: top four anyways.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Especially when they foreshadowed that they're weird. They were at
- 25:40Speaker 3: some point going to change something like Zee and I
- 25:43Speaker 3: have been talking this about this for a month, like
- 25:45Speaker 3: how would we change the deck, because regardless of how
- 25:47Speaker 3: Robin's gonna get changed, it's going to get you know,
- 25:50Speaker 3: nerved at some point, whether it was bureaucracy gone or whatever. Right,
- 25:55Speaker 3: we have talked about what are our options, and we
- 25:58Speaker 3: listed out the various options that we and you know,
- 26:01Speaker 3: right now like our deck, he renamed it r I P.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Robin because you know, it's not it's no longer will
- 26:09Speaker 3: of the people, but it is it is now lacking
- 26:13Speaker 3: robin hood and you know, it remains to be seen
- 26:15Speaker 3: how it's going to balance out.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and the curve on this new deck and some
- 26:20Speaker 2: of the tools in it are is still amazing looking
- 26:24Speaker 2: just looking at the you know, little page here for
- 26:27Speaker 2: the deck. Mm uh, did you want to talk about
- 26:33Speaker 2: because you mentioned a little bit about the suggested changes there.
- 26:40Speaker 2: I spend a lot of.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Time because they do talk about it, and I do
- 26:43Speaker 1: feel like this is something that needs to be stated
- 26:46Speaker 1: because they were quite comprehensive on this, right. So yes, yes,
- 26:52Speaker 1: Slow and steady wins the race. When a problem seems
- 26:55Speaker 1: to arise, players often feel it is crucial to address
- 26:58Speaker 1: it as quickly as possible, especially when they believe they
- 27:02Speaker 1: know the ideal solution. We two share this in patience.
- 27:06Speaker 1: We're also players, after all, so they address that. However,
- 27:10Speaker 1: to address things properly, it is essential to follow the
- 27:14Speaker 1: follow a few keys. I mean, this wasn't like just
- 27:17Speaker 1: a couple of both. This is five bullet points and
- 27:19Speaker 1: they're well thought out. First, we need to determine whether
- 27:22Speaker 1: it's a rules issue or a balancing issue, then confirm
- 27:26Speaker 1: the problem. This is usually involves increasing the number of
- 27:28Speaker 1: test games and analyzing the available data. If it's a
- 27:32Speaker 1: balancing issue, is it possible that players simply haven't discovered
- 27:36Speaker 1: a counter strategy, though one may exist. We also need
- 27:41Speaker 1: to track community sentiment on the issue. Sometimes unforeseen situations
- 27:46Speaker 1: arise and the community expresses a preference for keeping a
- 27:50Speaker 1: cart as it is rather than fixing it. Another factor
- 27:54Speaker 1: to consider is also the potential impact of a problem
- 27:57Speaker 1: in relation to future sets. A card impact maybe less
- 28:01Speaker 1: significant over time as new cards are introduced, or conversely,
- 28:06Speaker 1: it may become stronger. Finally, we need to explore solutions
- 28:10Speaker 1: and test them, which can take several weeks. On top
- 28:13Speaker 1: of this, there's a technical implementation to consider. Due to
- 28:17Speaker 1: the digital nature of our game. It is connected to
- 28:19Speaker 1: BGA modifying thousands of card carries risks for the database,
- 28:25Speaker 1: so any changes need to be carefully tested. So as
- 28:29Speaker 1: this wasn't like a fly by night, like oh, we're
- 28:31Speaker 1: just going to do this, and like they thought about this.
- 28:35Speaker 1: The one thing that did kind of catch my eye
- 28:37Speaker 1: when when reading about it is where was it? If
- 28:42Speaker 1: it is a balancing issue, is it possible that players
- 28:45Speaker 1: simply haven't discovered a counter strategy yet though one may
- 28:49Speaker 1: not exist. And another factor to consider is the potential
- 28:53Speaker 1: impact of a problem in relation to future sets. A
- 28:57Speaker 1: card that impact. A card's impact may be less significant
- 29:00Speaker 1: over time as new cards are introduced, or conversely, it
- 29:04Speaker 1: may become stronger. So this just tells me they did
- 29:07Speaker 1: not have a plan for Robin Hood and Set two.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's a fair Yeah.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they already said that, like when they
- 29:15Speaker 3: released Set one or you know, the yeah beyond the
- 29:20Speaker 3: gates that sets two, three, and four were already kind
- 29:22Speaker 3: of planned.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Out right, Yeah, as they typically are in mostcgs, Like
- 29:26Speaker 1: you normally are working a number of sets in advance.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and I know that a good I mean I
- 29:35Speaker 2: can't speak for every single person on the team, but
- 29:38Speaker 2: I know a lot of them play a ton of
- 29:41Speaker 2: altered So people are like, how did they not see
- 29:45Speaker 2: this in testing? Well, one, they kind of already admitted
- 29:48Speaker 2: we did see a little bit. But two, Like, as
- 29:53Speaker 2: I keep telling people, you can only test so much
- 29:57Speaker 2: with the brains you have, and then once other people
- 30:00Speaker 2: get their hands on it, it can just go places
- 30:03Speaker 2: you've never imagined. So yeah, I think all of these
- 30:09Speaker 2: bullet points are super super good.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Yep.
- 30:13Speaker 3: I think that's well put too, like you, within within
- 30:16Speaker 3: a small testing group, however large it is, whatever it
- 30:18Speaker 3: could be. You know, unless it is the public populace
- 30:21Speaker 3: at large that is going to play the game, there
- 30:24Speaker 3: will be a number of people that will not see
- 30:26Speaker 3: certain things about certain cards, right that I've seen that
- 30:30Speaker 3: happen in many, many different card games.
- 30:32Speaker 4: Right.
- 30:32Speaker 3: You don't understand how the impact, how that impact is
- 30:35Speaker 3: going to affect the larger met at a place, and
- 30:38Speaker 3: so then the set gets released, things start to shake out,
- 30:41Speaker 3: and then the cards designers goes, oh wow, that that
- 30:44Speaker 3: is a problem because somebody came up with this really
- 30:47Speaker 3: unique broken mechanic test or you know, or set of cards. Right,
- 30:53Speaker 3: testing is not going to find everything like that. That's
- 30:55Speaker 3: just that's just how it goes. And you know, they
- 30:58Speaker 3: they did, to their credit, they solves a problem. They
- 31:03Speaker 3: addressed it. I think they spoke very clearly about everything
- 31:07Speaker 3: that they went you know, that they thought about in
- 31:10Speaker 3: the different possibilities that they could have done, and they
- 31:13Speaker 3: were very at least from this article, it seemed very
- 31:16Speaker 3: transparent about all.
- 31:18Speaker 4: Those things, which I appreciate. Yep.
- 31:22Speaker 2: And now it's also sparked because there were some other
- 31:26Speaker 2: small changes that people noticed and to us, like Zach,
- 31:31Speaker 2: you and I were talking about it, they weren't that
- 31:34Speaker 2: big of a deal, but people are like, why did
- 31:36Speaker 2: you not say anything about this change or this change?
- 31:39Speaker 2: And so that, and this did spark the fact that
- 31:42Speaker 2: they're going to continue to do more articles like this
- 31:46Speaker 2: that call out any change that's been made and like
- 31:51Speaker 2: kind of how it is now. And there's already a
- 31:53Speaker 2: new article up with a whole list of very small changes.
- 31:57Speaker 2: But they're they're really aiming to be very clear and
- 32:05Speaker 2: thorough with all of their communication on rule changes.
- 32:09Speaker 5: Were there any actual rule changes that happened in that
- 32:11Speaker 5: newest article or was it just clarification?
- 32:14Speaker 2: Yeah, so, I'll be honest, I haven't had as much
- 32:17Speaker 2: time to digest it. And some of them technically came
- 32:22Speaker 2: out in one point one of the comprehensive rules, which
- 32:26Speaker 2: I've kind of been sorting through to prepare for something
- 32:31Speaker 2: we'll talk about later. Packs Unplugged but I think the
- 32:37Speaker 2: biggest one is I'll just pull up the so it's
- 32:41Speaker 2: rules and ruling updates November. I think the biggest one was, uh,
- 32:49Speaker 2: it might not even actually be in this one because
- 32:51Speaker 2: it was so long ago. It was it was a
- 32:54Speaker 2: targeting thing. But the all in lyra, yeah there's I mean,
- 33:02Speaker 2: this this article.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Is is which I did not know. I thought then
- 33:08Speaker 1: rollo dice, but now it's good to know that I
- 33:11Speaker 1: pick a target.
- 33:12Speaker 4: Yep. Yeah.
- 33:13Speaker 2: I think the one that stood out to me the
- 33:15Speaker 2: most was just it was really just a wording change
- 33:19Speaker 2: about things like we can use their first one here
- 33:24Speaker 2: at the top of the list, a cappella training question,
- 33:27Speaker 2: Can I split? Can I play a spell if there's
- 33:29Speaker 2: no valid target, which has always been in the rules,
- 33:34Speaker 2: Yes you can. It wasn't as clear that if you
- 33:40Speaker 2: have one of your own characters that is a valid target,
- 33:45Speaker 2: you have to target one of your own cards. And
- 33:50Speaker 2: so that was that was an update a lot of
- 33:52Speaker 2: people didn't understand. And then enough how tough Works kind
- 33:57Speaker 2: of got a little bit better of a description. But
- 34:00Speaker 2: other than that, as far as I know, it's just
- 34:03Speaker 2: kind of clarifications. But people saw the clarification changing on
- 34:08Speaker 2: the card and cards actually, if you click in on
- 34:12Speaker 2: them and they've had a clarification or rules update, it
- 34:16Speaker 2: will say it in the like I just pulled up
- 34:19Speaker 2: ogun random yeah yeah, yeah, question.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Like that.
- 34:27Speaker 2: So it'll have a it'll have a play by play
- 34:29Speaker 2: of what's changed on any card that has had them.
- 34:33Speaker 2: So people that were just clicking around noticed it, but
- 34:36Speaker 2: they hadn't like publicly announced it. So now every month
- 34:40Speaker 2: they're going to put out an article like this that
- 34:42Speaker 2: will uh, just list all of the clarifications like that.
- 34:50Speaker 1: That definitely cool.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Yeah, like that one one thing about the article, And
- 35:00Speaker 2: I think a big part of this that people don't
- 35:02Speaker 2: understand is when they're like, oh, why doesn't the card
- 35:07Speaker 2: just say this or say that. If a card text
- 35:12Speaker 2: exists in altered that means a unique can have it. Yes,
- 35:18Speaker 2: And a big reason that Robin Hood's entire text needed
- 35:22Speaker 2: to be changed is because of uniques. And I think
- 35:27Speaker 2: uniques are a net positive. I really enjoy seeing them,
- 35:31Speaker 2: even if they're played against me. So for the text
- 35:35Speaker 2: to not show up and not create those double text uniques,
- 35:40Speaker 2: the text itself had to be changed. Bureaucrat change any
- 35:43Speaker 2: of that would not have solved the problem.
- 35:46Speaker 4: I agree.
- 35:48Speaker 3: I was gonna say they addressed that with five different
- 35:50Speaker 3: points about they think about the various different solutions that
- 35:54Speaker 3: they were going to try. So again, I thought they
- 35:56Speaker 3: did a very cool job with that.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I'm thinking out loud again here, I guess we can
- 36:02Speaker 1: go into the market updates, real quick search here. So
- 36:10Speaker 1: let's see a box of beyond the gates right now,
- 36:13Speaker 1: we're running ninety bucks. I think, I don't know, I
- 36:16Speaker 1: don't know what it was last week. I'm not gonna
- 36:18Speaker 1: lie to nobody. I wasn't think it was was in
- 36:21Speaker 1: a mid as or it was a close eighty nine
- 36:22Speaker 1: something like that. Yeah, and then the Kickstarter version for
- 36:26Speaker 1: being on the gates. Now, the cheapest one I see
- 36:28Speaker 1: is at one.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Which is I think there was a couple of boxes
- 36:32Speaker 3: left at one fifty, and then I jumped up to
- 36:34Speaker 3: like one ninety or something.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Last the next one I see is one seventy five.
- 36:39Speaker 1: That's the next one I see. All right, let's move
- 36:42Speaker 1: into the exciting portion packs unplugged.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Okay, all right, I'm gonna I'm gonna talk a lot
- 36:50Speaker 2: for a moment. I'm gonna try to get through this
- 36:52Speaker 2: as quickly as possible. We're not going to spend any
- 36:56Speaker 2: time on Altered Corner events or Texas events once again,
- 37:01Speaker 2: just join the discord. Everything that we do will be
- 37:04Speaker 2: in there. But Packs Unplugged, So first Packs kind of
- 37:13Speaker 2: dropped the ball. The descriptions and the titles for the
- 37:18Speaker 2: events were supposed to be added I don't know two
- 37:23Speaker 2: months ago, and the titles were just copied from gen Con.
- 37:30Speaker 2: So the team submitted the new titles to get that fixed,
- 37:34Speaker 2: but then they left the old description, so it was
- 37:38Speaker 2: the right title the wrong description. So if you are
- 37:42Speaker 2: listening to this the Packs Unplugged website, I am pretty
- 37:47Speaker 2: sure because I have not seen them say that it's
- 37:49Speaker 2: been corrected. Is still not up to date on what
- 37:53Speaker 2: the events actually are. So Altered put out a news
- 37:59Speaker 2: article on the website breaking down the Packs Unplugged events.
- 38:06Speaker 2: So the PAX is in Philadelphia December sixth through the eighth,
- 38:12Speaker 2: and there will be a booth in thirty seven A
- 38:16Speaker 2: in the TCG Zone Gaming Hall D so there will
- 38:21Speaker 2: be promo cards a limited edition Philadelphia twenty twenty four
- 38:29Speaker 2: play Matt. I will pause now for everyone to h
- 38:34Speaker 2: and ooh about how great this playmat is. Where's this
- 38:38Speaker 2: it is will you not seeing it?
- 38:41Speaker 3: Then this is the first time I've seen it, and
- 38:43Speaker 3: I'm actually ills or anyway to shoot get any one
- 38:47Speaker 3: of these because I the bureaucracy. Everything is just looking
- 38:51Speaker 3: very I like the princes in there. So it's a
- 38:56Speaker 3: talk is back there like this, this is great, this
- 38:58Speaker 3: is awesome.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Say I must say, yes, it's holy shit. No, this
- 39:05Speaker 1: is this is altered.
- 39:07Speaker 4: That is very cool, very good art.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Are the promos anything different or no.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Prom those are the regular promos. Yeah, so the promos
- 39:18Speaker 2: are going to be the same twenty twenty four promos,
- 39:20Speaker 2: which are subash at Saudi Arak Rin, Jario and Lindaway.
- 39:25Speaker 2: There are going to be things that have not been
- 39:29Speaker 2: given away yet that will get to throughout this article.
- 39:33Speaker 2: The playmat, so I guess I guess I should say
- 39:37Speaker 2: I will be at packs unplugged. I will not be
- 39:42Speaker 2: attending as a pavilion. I will actually be a judge.
- 39:49Speaker 2: I have already been offered very mini bribes to get
- 39:53Speaker 2: someone a playmat, so.
- 39:56Speaker 4: I have also I see that I'm behind.
- 40:01Speaker 1: I have all brand game.
- 40:05Speaker 2: I don't want to say I've been promised, but I've
- 40:08Speaker 2: been told there should not be an issue with the
- 40:12Speaker 2: staff getting a playmat.
- 40:14Speaker 4: So.
- 40:16Speaker 3: It says they only have a select view, so maximized
- 40:19Speaker 3: chances take on this very exclusive prize.
- 40:21Speaker 4: But I guess it's only a new Yeah.
- 40:24Speaker 2: No, the staff is actually very small compared to what
- 40:27Speaker 2: it was at gen Con. We have one head judge,
- 40:32Speaker 2: I think three or four floor judges, and then like
- 40:37Speaker 2: a reservations person. And that's like it at gen Con.
- 40:43Speaker 2: It was not a promise that we could get the
- 40:46Speaker 2: Muna mat, but we ended up being very lucky to
- 40:51Speaker 2: take one home because there were some leftover.
- 40:54Speaker 4: So I do have the gen Con Matt.
- 40:56Speaker 2: It is equally as great. I hate artists. This Playmatt,
- 41:02Speaker 2: I might keep for myself.
- 41:03Speaker 4: We'll see, so I.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Don't know, we'll see. We'll see how the bribes get.
- 41:09Speaker 3: Before before it goes away out of your hands, please
- 41:13Speaker 3: let me have a chance to counter anything that you
- 41:16Speaker 3: may have received, because that is a banging play, Matt, I,
- 41:19Speaker 3: that is nice.
- 41:21Speaker 2: While while I tell everyone how you can maybe obtain this,
- 41:27Speaker 2: if any of you want to see if there's any
- 41:30Speaker 2: of the gen Con ones on eBay. I think last
- 41:34Speaker 2: I heard they were going for over three hundred dollars. Oh,
- 41:38Speaker 2: so there's going to be the usual scavenger hunt hunt
- 41:43Speaker 2: for Loki Knocks, the community manager throughout the event hall.
- 41:47Speaker 2: If you find him in the scavenger hunt, he'll give
- 41:50Speaker 2: you a It's actually a specific ric Root card as well.
- 41:56Speaker 2: I have one their numbered, so I think whenever they
- 42:01Speaker 2: retire that system, there'll probably only be like two hundred
- 42:04Speaker 2: three hundred. Maybe be a finalist in any Hero's Journey event,
- 42:10Speaker 2: which we'll go over here in a minute. Win a
- 42:13Speaker 2: game against Loki Knox and Yo the Lyra boss in
- 42:17Speaker 2: a boss battle. You can look up the boss card
- 42:23Speaker 2: in the Altered Discord. It's been posted a couple of times,
- 42:27Speaker 2: but it's basically just a very cracked hero card and
- 42:32Speaker 2: answer trivia on social media. They did this for gen
- 42:36Speaker 2: Con for people who weren't able to attend. I believe
- 42:41Speaker 2: they gave away a very small amount over social media,
- 42:45Speaker 2: but it was possible.
- 42:48Speaker 4: All right.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Now the events for people who will be there, Like
- 42:54Speaker 2: I said, I'll be there, there will be two cosplayers
- 42:57Speaker 2: in costume. I will not spoil who they are going
- 43:02Speaker 2: to be, but it will be Lewis Stardust and Anna Margaret.
- 43:06Speaker 1: I'm sorry if I say they're writing the article. I
- 43:09Speaker 1: don't think you're spoiling anything. No, you don't know their.
- 43:15Speaker 2: I do, but I won't spoil it, aren't you special?
- 43:19Speaker 4: Uh?
- 43:20Speaker 2: Loki Loki will be there the community manager, and Justin Parnell,
- 43:26Speaker 2: the OPI manager, will be there and doing certain events
- 43:30Speaker 2: so events. There will be the Boss battle, which we
- 43:34Speaker 2: already kind of mentioned, so I won't spend time with that.
- 43:37Speaker 5: Boss is overpowered.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Dexter is finally catching up as usual, Everyone meet Dexter
- 43:45Speaker 2: uh Influencer experience. The imaginary world is merging with one
- 43:49Speaker 2: of our own, and once more play a match against
- 43:52Speaker 2: heroes and characters from the Altered Universe come to life
- 43:55Speaker 2: special rewards in victory or defeat Loki nights, I will
- 44:02Speaker 2: for the listener's leak just a tiny bit.
- 44:06Speaker 1: It's a.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Unique way to play Altered, where things have been added
- 44:14Speaker 2: that do not exist in the game, just for the
- 44:17Speaker 2: sake of volatile exploring in the Tumult. That'll be your
- 44:25Speaker 2: sneak peek from me learn to play Altered. They'll have
- 44:31Speaker 2: quick demos like they did at gen Con. Each participant
- 44:34Speaker 2: is rewarded with an exclusive promotional hero card, which is
- 44:38Speaker 2: what we talked about. The promo cards and this one
- 44:43Speaker 2: is no registration needed, and if we do it the
- 44:46Speaker 2: same as we did at gen Con. We usually tell
- 44:48Speaker 2: people you have to sit through and learn how to
- 44:51Speaker 2: play the game, but if you've played a couple turns
- 44:54Speaker 2: and you need to go somewhere else, that's fine.
- 44:56Speaker 4: Just let us know.
- 45:00Speaker 2: I can't promise that'll be that way because it's probably
- 45:03Speaker 2: up to each person. Some of the team is the
- 45:07Speaker 2: same as gen Con, and we're all very nice, so.
- 45:10Speaker 1: This is interesting because and people are magic players.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think I actually bought Lewa at gen Con.
- 45:24Speaker 2: So that is when they got introduced to the game
- 45:28Speaker 2: and like the team and whatnot and really enjoyed it.
- 45:33Speaker 2: And they've kind of been playing and doing secret stuff
- 45:40Speaker 2: on the sidelines. Intel packs all the secret stuff. So
- 45:46Speaker 2: the next thing is the standard challenge. Want to test
- 45:50Speaker 2: your skill and Altered and win some beyond the gates
- 45:53Speaker 2: booster packs. Standard challenge is three rounds for prizes using
- 45:57Speaker 2: their own constructed decks, so that's important you bring your
- 46:02Speaker 2: own constructed deck. Prizes will be awarded based on record,
- 46:07Speaker 2: and I will not list out all of the structure.
- 46:10Speaker 2: You can go to the Altered website or hopefully packs
- 46:16Speaker 2: Registration for the events will open December first at the latest.
- 46:22Speaker 2: I would keep your eyes.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Open on social media, sir, What are you doing for
- 46:27Speaker 1: the sixth to the ninth? I want to go to
- 46:29Speaker 1: pasink that ship has sailed.
- 46:35Speaker 2: For him December sixth or ninth.
- 46:39Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 46:40Speaker 2: I'm not I'm not traveling. I'm not traveling.
- 46:44Speaker 4: I'd say money already.
- 46:46Speaker 1: I'm looking at this Lula's instagram and I don't think
- 46:48Speaker 1: I can go.
- 46:52Speaker 4: All right moving on.
- 46:54Speaker 1: For heavily tattooed women. So I don't want to put
- 46:59Speaker 1: a bad taste if his mouth for Altered Corner.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Price structure for this event is if you go three
- 47:06Speaker 2: and zero, you get nine packs plus a ten dollars
- 47:09Speaker 2: Altered Event Voucher two and one is six packs. One
- 47:13Speaker 2: and two is three packs, and all players receive a
- 47:16Speaker 2: promo card. And then there is the Booster Draft, which
- 47:21Speaker 2: is single elimination. You receive four packs of Beyond the
- 47:25Speaker 2: Gates and Draft in a pot of eight. I will
- 47:28Speaker 2: just say, if you have not drafted Altered, it is
- 47:31Speaker 2: incredibly fun.
- 47:34Speaker 1: To do a draft for Altered.
- 47:36Speaker 4: It is fun.
- 47:38Speaker 2: It is a lot of people's favorite way to play it.
- 47:41Speaker 2: There is a way to do it online, and I'm
- 47:43Speaker 2: going to maybe at some point schedule something do it. Yes, yes, yeah,
- 47:53Speaker 2: So that one is one that's probably going to sell
- 47:56Speaker 2: out incredibly fast. So like I said, just watch out
- 48:01Speaker 2: for when they go live. That's the best I can
- 48:03Speaker 2: tell you. And then you'll receive a promo and prizes
- 48:09Speaker 2: blah blah blah. Hero's Journey Standard. This is where players
- 48:14Speaker 2: will compete over six rounds of Swiss before moving on
- 48:18Speaker 2: to a single elimination bracket for top eight. Prizes will
- 48:22Speaker 2: be awarded based on record, So there's a point system
- 48:28Speaker 2: here for Swiss that you can read. The prize structure though,
- 48:33Speaker 2: this is where there are going to be things that
- 48:37Speaker 2: I said, have not seen before. Prize structure for this
- 48:42Speaker 2: event first place, never before seen Trial by Frost, oversized card,
- 48:49Speaker 2: and the exclusive packs twenty twenty four altered playmat plus
- 48:54Speaker 2: thirty six packs. So we know if it's going to
- 48:57Speaker 2: be one that's already spoiled, or could it be a
- 48:59Speaker 2: new one.
- 49:00Speaker 4: Net exter exter.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Oh, he doesn't understand how these things work, so you might.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Have never before.
- 49:09Speaker 4: Oh okay, I see, Sean, words are hard listening.
- 49:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I got it. It's Okay, it's okay, I got it.
- 49:17Speaker 2: It's a new one cool, Yes, got it, Yes, it's
- 49:20Speaker 2: it's all. It's all love here. Second place you get
- 49:23Speaker 2: the play mat and twenty four packs. Third and fourth
- 49:26Speaker 2: is twenty four packs, Fifth and eighth is twelve packs.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Players with the same record as the player in eighth
- 49:33Speaker 2: place after round six twelve packs. Ninth through sixteenth six packs,
- 49:38Speaker 2: and the top finishing player for each faction will receive
- 49:42Speaker 2: an Expedition Captain reward. I believe that's also something we've
- 49:46Speaker 2: never seen. And then all participants get a promo card.
- 49:51Speaker 2: They are doing a multiplayer event. It's kind of the
- 49:55Speaker 2: same Swiss where there's points and everything, and then the
- 50:00Speaker 2: ice structure is kind of the same. But since it's
- 50:03Speaker 2: a team its first place team gets two never before
- 50:07Speaker 2: seen Trial by Frost oversized cards, two exclusive play mats,
- 50:11Speaker 2: forty eight packs, and then just go down the line
- 50:14Speaker 2: and you know, times everything by two basically.
- 50:17Speaker 1: And that so these promo all I mean, are these
- 50:22Speaker 1: are they alternate arts? What are they? Typically?
- 50:25Speaker 2: Uh so, if you pull up the article, they are
- 50:30Speaker 2: at the very top, but they are full of cards.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yep, yeah.
- 50:37Speaker 3: If you if you like we've been getting them from
- 50:39Speaker 3: our local and it's it's a full yep, just a
- 50:43Speaker 3: full art hero Hero card, no text, but a little
- 50:47Speaker 3: bit different to just full art, so there's a little partialeah.
- 50:51Speaker 1: And that's the I My fear whenever I hear promo right,
- 50:55Speaker 1: is always like, oh, these are going to be promo
- 50:57Speaker 1: cards that you can only get at these certain places,
- 50:59Speaker 1: because lots of card games have tested that theory and
- 51:02Speaker 1: they all fail miserably. So it's good to hear. Yes,
- 51:05Speaker 1: they already are not cards, just differently.
- 51:10Speaker 2: They are not mechanically unique, and they, from what I
- 51:14Speaker 2: have seen, do a better job at giving as many
- 51:20Speaker 2: chances as possible to get these promos compared to others.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Lorcana had some errata where they changed some squirrel and
- 51:28Speaker 2: the only way you could get the new card was
- 51:30Speaker 2: by playing in like this one event that's gonna go
- 51:33Speaker 2: away forever after like a weekend.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Again, that's that's always my fear. Like, man, when
- 51:41Speaker 1: I played DBZ, like there was promo cards coming out
- 51:45Speaker 1: of everywhere, and like, I mean, you were getting them
- 51:47Speaker 1: in oh what was the shown in Jump had promo
- 51:51Speaker 1: cards and then certain tournaments had promo cards and I
- 51:54Speaker 1: was like, there was so many promo and they were
- 51:56Speaker 1: all met irrelevant. It's just possible able to like keep
- 52:01Speaker 1: up with the amount of money you had to shell
- 52:03Speaker 1: out for these things, and it'd be it was a yeah,
- 52:07Speaker 1: it was a it was an issue. But I'm glad
- 52:09Speaker 1: to hear that these are the o They're already known.
- 52:11Speaker 1: They're just you know, different arts, different, that's different that
- 52:15Speaker 1: that's that is the correct way to do promo cards.
- 52:19Speaker 2: Yeah, the easiest way to get them is the organized playpacks.
- 52:23Speaker 2: But I think there's like a extremely small chance to
- 52:26Speaker 2: get them in other packs. I could I could be wrong.
- 52:29Speaker 3: I think it's only in the Kickstarter Yeah, I'm pretty
- 52:33Speaker 3: sure that's the only place. So we we we got
- 52:35Speaker 3: a couple of them. We actually got in one of ours,
- 52:38Speaker 3: a twenty twenty three promo card.
- 52:40Speaker 2: Ooh yeah, those those are the pricey ones.
- 52:43Speaker 4: That one. That one surprised us.
- 52:45Speaker 2: And yeah, I sold my set twenty twenty three for
- 52:48Speaker 2: eight hundred dollars.
- 52:49Speaker 4: So I mean then you could afford two unique Robinhoods. Well,
- 52:53Speaker 4: now you can probably afford to like fifty.
- 52:55Speaker 2: But seventy of them. Yeah, it was so uh maybe,
- 53:01Speaker 2: like I said, maybe one day I'll tell my journey.
- 53:03Speaker 2: But I did not back the Kickstarter. I couldn't. Uh
- 53:07Speaker 2: so selling those is what got me my one and
- 53:09Speaker 2: only Kickstarter box, so it was worth it in the
- 53:14Speaker 2: long run. But I will say, if you listen to
- 53:18Speaker 2: this podcast and you can find me at PAX, you
- 53:22Speaker 2: I will help you, to the best of my ability
- 53:24Speaker 2: to get all six of these if you don't already
- 53:28Speaker 2: have them.
- 53:29Speaker 1: I will not be at packs. Well maybe I will.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Maybe No, I won't be at packs. I've already made
- 53:35Speaker 1: a decision and I got to stick with it. I gotta.
- 53:38Speaker 4: I do have a couple extra, so you know, yeah,
- 53:42Speaker 4: I do have extra for me.
- 53:45Speaker 2: So if I have to dip into my my own personal.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Extra, just travel to Minnesota and Pennsylvania is a bridge
- 53:52Speaker 1: too far. It's like the same distance, right, probably maybe
- 53:58Speaker 1: the same.
- 53:58Speaker 2: But is going to be the same.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Dexter doesn't work, so like any kind of that's just extravagant.
- 54:06Speaker 1: So like like, hey there's a.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Thing, No they aren't.
- 54:10Speaker 5: I've paid for myself for all of KFC.
- 54:14Speaker 2: He sells pills on campus anyway.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Yeah, out the secrets man, his his darm person what
- 54:27Speaker 1: do they call it?
- 54:27Speaker 4: The t a already.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Did you hear that the knock in his dark?
- 54:36Speaker 2: What I'm trying to I'm trying to think if there's
- 54:39Speaker 2: anything else that I know that would be beneficial to
- 54:43Speaker 2: say about pack Unplugged.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, like I've been to pack some plugged.
- 54:49Speaker 1: It's even if you're just going you're not going for
- 54:52Speaker 1: Altered like, it is a good time. There's lots of
- 54:54Speaker 1: stuff to go and see. So we'll we'll get that
- 54:59Speaker 1: that report from Unplugged when you do come back.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Yep, yep, yep.
- 55:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:06Speaker 2: If you walk up to me and say, hey, I
- 55:08Speaker 2: listened to the episode, I will try to get.
- 55:12Speaker 4: Well, there you go.
- 55:15Speaker 1: That's not true. I had a lot of people come
- 55:17Speaker 1: up to me this past weekend and be like, hey,
- 55:20Speaker 1: I listened to your show, and then they had terrible
- 55:22Speaker 1: things to say afterward.
- 55:23Speaker 2: But anyway, I think that about covers. It just pay
- 55:29Speaker 2: attention to the social media. If you want a leg
- 55:32Speaker 2: up on getting the play mat or getting registered for events,
- 55:36Speaker 2: follow Altered on Instagram and Twitter, and then join the
- 55:42Speaker 2: main discord. I pay way too much attention to the
- 55:46Speaker 2: main discord, So if you have questions, just let me know.
- 55:49Speaker 2: I'll help the best I can.
- 55:51Speaker 1: So I have so many questions, but we are running
- 55:54Speaker 1: into our time bubble here. We are hitting at our mark,
- 55:58Speaker 1: So I think now is a good time to wrap up.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Make sure you guys head over to the Patreon Patreon
- 56:03Speaker 1: dot com forward slash Altered Corner. Once we get enough people,
- 56:07Speaker 1: we're doing what the box tournament or something like that.
- 56:10Speaker 2: Yep.
- 56:11Speaker 1: This is where we need Z because he's the one
- 56:12Speaker 1: who plans all these things.
- 56:14Speaker 4: Yep.
- 56:15Speaker 2: I was about to make a very terrible joke, but
- 56:17Speaker 2: instead I will say in December, we are going to
- 56:20Speaker 2: do a win a box tournament, and I believe from
- 56:24Speaker 2: what Ze said, it will be for the three dollars tier.
- 56:30Speaker 2: And if there's only ten three dollars tier people by
- 56:37Speaker 2: December when we do it, you'll have a very good
- 56:39Speaker 2: chance at winning a retail box.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Now I want to hear that.
- 56:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I was gonna say, you gotta say they Okay.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Well just to say win your mom's box.
- 56:49Speaker 4: Anyways, You hear that, Dexter, You hear that Dexter?
- 56:55Speaker 1: All right. Season two of ACE will be starting on
- 56:58Speaker 1: December twenty third, sixth six point thirty Central Standard time.
- 57:03Speaker 1: You can join our discord the Altered Corner discord to
- 57:06Speaker 1: find out more information about that. Make sure you follow
- 57:10Speaker 1: us on all the social media's X or Twitter? What
- 57:12Speaker 1: do we call it now? It's so confusing.
- 57:15Speaker 2: I still call it Twitter.
- 57:16Speaker 1: I still call it twitter too, Twitter dot com, forward,
- 57:18Speaker 1: slash at altered is it at at altered Corner? We
- 57:22Speaker 1: have a Facebook yet? Who's in charge of that?
- 57:26Speaker 2: I told everyone I would not do Facebook, but I
- 57:29Speaker 2: will do everything else. So no Facebook but altered corner
- 57:34Speaker 2: dot com?
- 57:35Speaker 1: Yeah, follow us on porn hub at altered Corner. Oh yep,
- 57:41Speaker 1: not yeah, okay, perfect, I will at altered cord.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Actually, you know what I can. I was going to say,
- 57:49Speaker 2: I will legitimately upload my cast of the AS Championship.
- 57:54Speaker 2: I can't because that website is blocked in Texas.
- 57:57Speaker 1: So okay, that's a conversation for an other day. I'll
- 58:01Speaker 1: join us next week to find out why porn hubs
- 58:04Speaker 1: blocked in Texas.
- 58:08Speaker 4: Next, go ahead and tell us why?
