- Lucas: Hej och välkommen till Learn Swedish with Fexingo! I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna! Episode 28 – can you believe it? Lucas: I know, it's flying by. Today we're doing something super practical: time words. Luna: Ooh, like today, tomorrow, yesterday? Lucas: Exactly! Let's start with idag – that means 'today'. Luna: Idag. Idag. Lucas: Perfect. So if someone asks you 'Vad gör du idag?' – that means 'What are you doing today?' Luna: Vad gör du idag? Let me try... Vad gör du idag? Lucas: Yes! Great pronunciation. So how would you answer, Luna? Luna: Umm... Jag jobbar idag? Meaning 'I work today'? Lucas: Exactly. Jag jobbar idag. Let's say it together: Jag jobbar idag. Luna: Jag jobbar idag. Lucas: Now let's bring in imorgon – that's 'tomorrow'. Luna: Imorgon. Imorgon. That sounds like 'ee-mor-gon'. Lucas: Close! Imorgon. The 'o' is a bit shorter. Imorgon. Luna: Imorgon. Okay, got it. Lucas: So if you want to say 'See you tomorrow!', you say 'Vi ses imorgon!' Luna: Vi ses imorgon! That's cute! Vi ses imorgon. Lucas: And the last one for today: igår – 'yesterday'. Luna: Igår. That's like 'ee-gor'? Lucas: Almost – igår. The 'g' is soft, like in 'gård'. Igår. Luna: Igår. Igår. Right. Lucas: So you can say 'Igår var jag hemma' – 'Yesterday I was at home'. Luna: Igår var jag hemma. Let me repeat: Igår var jag hemma. Lucas: Perfect. Let's do a mini conversation. I'll ask you: 'Vad gör du idag?' Luna: Jag jobbar idag. Och du? What are you doing today? Lucas: Jag jobbar också idag. Vi ses imorgon! Luna: Vi ses imorgon! That was smooth. Lucas: Now let's practice igår. What did you do yesterday? Luna: Igår var jag hemma. I was home. Lucas: Nice. And I can say: Igår jobbade jag. That uses the past tense of jobba, but we'll save that for another day. Luna: Oh, so igår is always with past? Good to know. Lucas: Exactly. So let's recap: idag – today, imorgon – tomorrow, igår – yesterday. Luna: Idag, imorgon, igår. I think I've got those down. Lucas: And the question: Vad gör du idag? Luna: Vad gör du idag? And the answer: Jag jobbar idag. Lucas: Or you could say 'Jag är ledig idag' – 'I'm off today'. Luna: Jag är ledig idag. That's good to know. Lucas: Let's do a quick quiz. I'll say a Swedish phrase, and you translate. Luna: Okay, hit me. Lucas: Vi ses imorgon! Luna: See you tomorrow! Lucas: Igår var jag hemma. Luna: Yesterday I was at home. Lucas: Vad gör du idag? Luna: What are you doing today? Lucas: You're a natural, Luna. Luna: Aww, thanks Lucas. This was a really useful episode. I'm definitely using these today. Lucas: Great! That's what we love to hear. Remember, you can practice with a friend: ask them 'Vad gör du idag?' and answer with 'Jag jobbar idag' or 'Jag är ledig idag'. Luna: And if you're planning to meet someone, say 'Vi ses imorgon!' Lucas: Exactly. That's it for today's Learn Swedish with Fexingo. Tack för att du lyssnade – thanks for listening! Luna: Vi ses imorgon! Or... in the next episode! Lucas: Hej då!
