- 2:55your favorite drinks, sit back, relax and let's have our Friday
- 3:00night session with the beautiful Angela.
- 3:08Hey Angela, how are you? Amazing.
- 3:11How are you so happy to be here? Yes, I'm going really, really
- 3:16well. I've.
- 3:16I've had a bit of a sore throat, but I'm on the tail end of it.
- 3:21So yes, I'm looking forward to our summer months.
- 3:25But you are on the other side of the world, so where are you,
- 3:28Angela? Located in Montreal, QC, Canada.
- 3:32So we're smack in the middle of summer right now, which is nice.
- 3:36Oh wow, you lucky thing. And I'm off to Bali with someone
- 3:41from Canada. Soon she's flying out there and
- 3:44we're going to be doing some really exciting things like
- 3:48we're going to be branding ourselves and launching her
- 3:51legacy. So that's so, so, so very
- 3:54amazing. But, you know, I can't wait to
- 3:56have this discussion with you because.
- 3:59You know, I have a heart and a passion for people to really
- 4:05transform their lives and you are definitely all about that.
- 4:10And I love that you are solution focused in.
- 4:16Yeah. And also you because of your
- 4:21background in, you know, as a social worker and also in CBT.
- 4:27I personally have come to find that CBT is the single most
- 4:34powerful talk therapy I have ever come across that I've ever
- 4:40known about, where you're simply just talking to someone and you
- 4:46know I love that you you are bringing so many of your own
- 4:49modalities that you've done because you've you've got a lot
- 4:52of modalities up your sleeve that really.
- 4:56Bring out the magic in a person, right?
- 4:59Yeah, well, because nobody's A1 size fits all and but some
- 5:04people CBT is super effective because again it's connecting
- 5:09that like our emotions with our thoughts and how one influences
- 5:12the other and it gives you a nice concrete strategy.
- 5:14So it's a very, like you said, solution oriented, solution
- 5:17focused and that works really well with some people, but some
- 5:20other people. Maybe they need more of a
- 5:22narrative approach. They need the storytelling
- 5:24approach to connect deeper within.
- 5:26And some people, well, there's just so much going on.
- 5:28They need to accept what's happening first before they can
- 5:31move forward. And some people just need simple
- 5:32quick solutions, so and some people need all of the above at
- 5:36different points, so. It's really.
- 5:39Tailoring things to really meet the individuals needs.
- 5:43Yeah, and and look. What I love about what you're
- 5:48doing, it's very much aligned with what I do as well.
- 5:53And that is that, you know, I think there's a time and a place
- 5:57exactly what you've just said, you know, where CBT like
- 6:02obviously, in case people don't know what that is, it's
- 6:06cognitive behavioral therapy, correct, Angela?
- 6:10Exactly. Yeah.
- 6:12So you know, it's clean language.
- 6:16It's it's the ability to go deep very quickly.
- 6:19Don't you find like you're gonna go rather than just going back
- 6:24and forward and back and forward with a lot of questions just
- 6:26sort of going really in this clean?
- 6:31Methodology you're able to navigate for that client.
- 6:36And bringing awareness to all the noise that goes on in our
- 6:39mind because there can be a lot of noise.
- 6:41And so it's to really shine a spotlight on it and then just
- 6:44start cleaning it up because often people, it's like they're
- 6:47trying to clean. A room with the lights off and
- 6:50maybe they're getting some dust, but they're spreading others.
- 6:52So what kind of behavioral therapy can do is it can really
- 6:55shine a light on. Like here are all the thoughts
- 6:57and how they're contradicting and creating all this anxiety.
- 7:00So now that we see these thoughts and the feelings
- 7:03attached to them, let's undo that and let's find another way.
- 7:07Yeah, because we've all got a past, right?
- 7:10We will all run to child. Yes and and and I love the fact
- 7:14that you do the inner childhood. Oh, that's nice.
- 7:18Yeah. And you know, I'm sort of
- 7:20getting this vision, A vision just came to my mind and you
- 7:23were just talking about how you're going in and and and sort
- 7:28of clearing that I was imagining this great big vacuum cleaner.
- 7:31Yeah. Really.
- 7:32Like sucking out all the debris, all the negative talk and all
- 7:39the rubbish and you know, it just, that's, that's the vision
- 7:44I just had then. So you believe that obviously
- 7:49making the magic happen happens with fun and bringing the fun
- 7:56back, you know, can you talk? Us through about, you know,
- 8:00like, because there's a lot of serious adults out there, let's
- 8:03face it, right? And how important is it to be
- 8:09able to find that magic? Yeah, it's it's necessary.
- 8:15It's, I think, one of the secrets to having a happy life.
- 8:18Because again, I think somewhere along the line especially, and
- 8:23it's not to say you shouldn't be responsible and you shouldn't be
- 8:26serious. There's a time and place for
- 8:27everything. It's just sometimes we forget
- 8:29the reasons why we're doing all of this and that is to enjoy
- 8:32life and that is to enjoy the people in our lives and to have
- 8:37that fun. That's why often parents relive
- 8:40their childhood through their children and at the same time
- 8:42they don't. It's great to do that and they
- 8:44can still relive enjoy their childhood themselves or relive
- 8:48their own childhood themselves and reconnect with that
- 8:50innocence and that childlike ponder, because that's what.
- 8:53Keeps us curious and excited and enjoying life.
- 8:56Like I feel myself getting excited talking about it
- 8:58because. I can see that.
- 9:00Yeah. I mean, I know NLP holds a
- 9:04presupposition. It's never too late for a happy
- 9:07childhood and I feel like you're you're what you do for the world
- 9:13is really emulating. Why it's not too late to have a
- 9:19happy childhood and how you can go back to that inner child and
- 9:24how you can heal. So you know, obviously you know
- 9:30that these people are in a position of, you know, losing
- 9:35who they are, getting caught up in the people pleasing trap.
- 9:40Perhaps you can tell us about your story in your mid 20s and
- 9:44exactly what happened. And cheering.
- 9:48Yeah, so my mid 20s, I was pretty much at the epitome of
- 9:52everything was about everyone else.
- 9:53At the time I was a hospital social worker, so the job was
- 9:57all about other people, as it should be.
- 9:59It should be about helping your clients.
- 10:01But it was like that also meant not taking my breaks and doing
- 10:05more than maybe what was required of me and meant also
- 10:10working late and meant. Also at my home life, like
- 10:14making, I basically put everybody ahead of myself to the
- 10:17point where I was ignoring my health, which was actually not
- 10:20doing so well at the time, but I didn't realize it.
- 10:24I just said, oh, I'm stressed, I'm stressed, and then I'll
- 10:26never forget this. It was like a crisp winter day
- 10:29sitting in front of my doctor because I had him feeling well
- 10:32and literally a friend literally drove me to the doctor to be
- 10:36like, this is not normal. You need, like, it's not normal
- 10:38that you feel so unwell. You need to go deal with that.
- 10:43So I'm sitting in front of a specialist, He just examines me
- 10:46and he's like, oh, you have like a golf ball sized tumor sticking
- 10:49out of your throat. Do you realize that?
- 10:51And I'm like, no, he's like and way too casually.
- 10:54Like, way too casually. He says it's probably cancer And
- 10:58I'm like, wait, what? Say that again?
- 11:01He does. He just says it like well.
- 11:03Casually, I'll never forget that I was like, oh.
- 11:06My gosh. Go on.
- 11:09And I think it was like four or five inconclusive biopsies and a
- 11:13surgery later, it turns out he was right.
- 11:15That's exactly what it was. It was cancer, thankfully, very
- 11:18cheatable. Thankfully I'm OK.
- 11:20It's in remission. It's been in remission since
- 11:22there haven't been any issues And you would think you would
- 11:25think that would have been enough to be like OK and like
- 11:27geez, you're not even like you've ignored yourself to the
- 11:30point that you had a freaking golf ball sized tumor in your
- 11:32throat and you didn't even, you didn't even know that was
- 11:35happening. You need to take care of
- 11:36yourself. But.
- 11:38That is that that. I mean, and isn't it
- 11:40interesting, right. You know, you sort of wonder
- 11:43like a young woman like you, you know, not just getting, you
- 11:49know, these thyroid issues, but the fact that it is cancer.
- 11:54And I feel like there is too much.
- 12:00Of either people on that side of the spectrum where they are, you
- 12:06know, really fighting disease. And if they're not fighting
- 12:10disease, guess what, they're fighting disease.
- 12:14So obviously you learned a bit of a hard lesson, although maybe
- 12:20not right there and then from what I understand, but I I
- 12:24believe you kind of learned along the way.
- 12:30After getting burnt out that you might have had that kind of
- 12:34hello wake up moment, that what's going on and what had
- 12:39gone on in your body was kind of like it.
- 12:43It's it's it's almost like a G PS:, isn't it.
- 12:45It's like our subconscious saying hey hey, this is just a
- 12:50redirection, are you listening now?
- 12:53You know do this because one thing I noticed is that.
- 12:59I used to be an absolute crap magnet when I was in that
- 13:03position. And what you're driving with
- 13:05that typical person, you know, that's just really, I guess
- 13:10they're fighting that in a child that keeps coming back.
- 13:14And they're dealing with all these kind of issues from their
- 13:19past. They're driven as a result and
- 13:22they're really trying to cover up the pain.
- 13:25So they they they kind of going and going and going and going.
- 13:30And then I found that when I stopped, which is usually at a
- 13:35point of a breakdown, which we're going to find out all
- 13:38about yours in just a moment. That's when you kinda get the
- 13:42hello call and it's like the subconscious mind going, well,
- 13:45if you're not gonna stop, if you're not gonna throw, I'm
- 13:48gonna throw you down. One way or another, you're
- 13:54stopping like it's enough. Exactly, Yeah.
- 13:56So what actually, I mean, obviously, you know.
- 14:00On the other upside of my story, just very quickly, you know,
- 14:04once I was able to heal the way I was thinking and go through a
- 14:10lot of the elements that you're going to be talking today about,
- 14:14I my immune system just became so much better.
- 14:20You know, all of a sudden my immune became rock solid.
- 14:24You know, my, I even grew, I've told this story on my podcast
- 14:28before, but I've, I even grew at the age of 40 like a tiny
- 14:33little. And my sister who's a big
- 14:35skeptic, she, she could never believe that and she's an
- 14:40analyst, you know. So she's into all the
- 14:43analyzation and escalation of technology and she went, well, I
- 14:49will. She has, it's true, but this is
- 14:53what the mind So the mind can really make us or break us in
- 14:57our physical form, in our mental.
- 14:59But your thyroid cancer obviously wasn't enough for you.
- 15:03You so tell us. Yeah, tell us about your
- 15:06breakdown and and what that what happened there?
- 15:11Yeah. So that's it.
- 15:12After that, I became maybe a little more health conscious,
- 15:15but you know, right when. I called myself the People
- 15:17Pleasing Addict because it felt like an addiction.
- 15:20It just went right back into the same habits, into this, and it
- 15:25took 13 years. It actually took about 13 years
- 15:27after I had the cancer diagnosis.
- 15:32You know, in that time I became celiac, like I had issues with
- 15:35the thyroid. Well, I didn't have a thyroid
- 15:37anymore, but with the medication, there was just a
- 15:39bunch of stuff that was just going on and again, just ignored
- 15:42it. It's like, no, no, no, it's
- 15:43stress. I didn't learn.
- 15:45I should have learned, but I did not learn until I think I'd say
- 15:50it was maybe 2-3 years ago. And I just completely my body,
- 15:55like you said, actually really beautifully, like the body said
- 15:58no. The body mind souls like you're
- 16:00done. That's it.
- 16:01You're not. You're not moving forward until
- 16:04you start to actually deal with this.
- 16:06Because this, we can't do this anymore.
- 16:08How did you know that you were actually having like a a real
- 16:12burnout? What was the symptom?
- 16:14Oh my goodness. It was like nothing I ever felt
- 16:17before. It was I would wake up with
- 16:19this, like pounding anxiety. Like I would wake up just
- 16:23terrified with no real reason to be terrified, but just.
- 16:26This feeling of terror in my body, and it was so hard to
- 16:29concentrate. It was so hard to move.
- 16:31It was hard to get anything done.
- 16:34It was just the sense of pessimism, like I'm normally a
- 16:37very optimistic, bubbly person. And all of that was gone.
- 16:40There was no spark, There was no magic.
- 16:42There was no anything. It was just this fear and this
- 16:48sadness and this emptiness it was.
- 16:52And it was one of those things where I was like I could this
- 16:54could not be my life. Like, I cannot, like this is not
- 16:56a life I want to live. And I think it was at that
- 16:58moment where you know, when they say you hit rock bottom, well,
- 17:01emotionally I felt like I hit rock bottom.
- 17:03And I'm like, no, this is not for me.
- 17:05I something needs to change. And you know what?
- 17:07That change has to be me. Like nobody can make me suddenly
- 17:11feel better because God knows the people around me, my husband
- 17:15and. The people who really love me,
- 17:17of course would want me to get, but it had to come from me and I
- 17:20had to start making changes in how I approach things.
- 17:23And you know, I had to first of all treat this and get the help
- 17:27I needed to treat that, and then and then reconnect spiritually
- 17:30because I think somewhere along the line I had lost a little bit
- 17:34of that and like really reconnect with that spiritual
- 17:37connection, you know? And I know.
- 17:39Talk about what? What, what?
- 17:41When you say connect with spirit, because, I mean, some
- 17:44people understand we're all spiritual beings, right?
- 17:47We, we truly are. But you had a real spiritual
- 17:51awakening. So you know from from going to
- 17:55that, waking up and feeling terror and you know.
- 18:00You know, obviously you are the epitome of a classic person
- 18:04coming onto my show who talks about your zone of genius
- 18:08through your zone of weakness. And I always say that it's the
- 18:13weakness that forms that you know, incredible you know moment
- 18:19where we just say no more and then somehow or rather it's like
- 18:24God put us on the planet and said.
- 18:26You know what? You have got to be the light and
- 18:30the ambassador of your show and what you're going to do.
- 18:34So I'm going to make sure that we we treat you like a diamond
- 18:38and we put you under absolute incredible pressure.
- 18:44So when you had, you know, from where you were in that waking up
- 18:49with terror every morning to the spiritual awakening.
- 18:55Talk us through, you know what that looked like, what that felt
- 18:59like, and and what happened for you.
- 19:01Yeah, So for me it was really like calling out to God or my
- 19:07higher power, like I meets God and to be like, I need help,
- 19:11it's really surrendering. Honestly, I think surrendering
- 19:13was. The best word to say?
- 19:15Yeah. Like I can't do this and I can't
- 19:18do this on my own and I need help.
- 19:20I really really I really need help because I'm not OK and I
- 19:24know you didn't put me on this earth for this.
- 19:27This is not your plan for me. So help me.
- 19:30Please help me. And I don't feel like that
- 19:32surrender if I can just really bring this up because obviously
- 19:38the listeners really, they want the gold Nuggets.
- 19:41So you know. What do I require to do?
- 19:45And when you can stand on the shoulders of giants like Angela,
- 19:50you know you you may not have to get hit with a a disease or, you
- 19:56know, have that moment where you're so in the darkest,
- 19:59darkest place that you're pleading to God.
- 20:02But the operative word is surrender.
- 20:05Do you think the surrender? Can you explain?
- 20:09What surrender? Feels like what it actually.
- 20:14It was so, you know, I would at that point meditate a lot and
- 20:18just sort of like kind of go in my head and be like okay, God,
- 20:20just talk to me and help me. And I remember this one image
- 20:23and it was like the most powerful image because sometimes
- 20:28we think it's like I have to give everything up all at once
- 20:30and we're just not ready to. So in this image I had seen
- 20:33myself. Almost like a kid holding on to
- 20:36this really big rock. And it was jagged and it was
- 20:40hurting me, but I couldn't let it go.
- 20:41I was so scared to let go of this rock.
- 20:44And then I was like, I know, God, I know you're going to take
- 20:47the rock. I know you're going to help me,
- 20:48but I am not ready to. And and I get emotional thinking
- 20:53about it because it was just so powerful.
- 20:55Suddenly I just felt these two arms around me, just with so
- 20:58much love saying, OK, then we'll hold it together.
- 21:01And when you're ready to let it go, we'll let it go.
- 21:04And when that happened, it just gave me the permission to be
- 21:08okay. This is who I am.
- 21:09This is what it is. And over time, eventually I was
- 21:12able to let go of that rock and then reconnect and then connect
- 21:15with that purpose and that and connect with God and to that,
- 21:19like, and just find that light, you know?
- 21:21And I remember another very powerful moment was that
- 21:24recognition of, you know, we, you know, how we struggle with
- 21:27the not good enough. They're not good enough.
- 21:29Well, was that. And I remember I would do this
- 21:32thing every day, and I still do it, actually, where I'm like,
- 21:33okay, God, how can I serve you today?
- 21:36And I would just write. I would just literally write
- 21:37whatever comes to me, you know. And at one point I was
- 21:40struggling with the not good enough.
- 21:42And then what came to me was, but at your truest, and I
- 21:47believe this of everybody, it's not just me, but at our deepest
- 21:50core, we're an expression of God's love or the universe's
- 21:53love. So how can you not be good
- 21:56enough if at your core you're just you, you are an expression
- 21:59of. God or the universe's love.
- 22:01And when I had that, I was like, welcome, I love.
- 22:06That I mean you know how we we you know, cuz when you say this
- 22:10I'm kind of like picturing you know one of those moments for me
- 22:14where I just felt like I wasn't good enough and and you know
- 22:19you're in this self sabotage you're in this and and the and
- 22:23the worse you get the worse you seem to get.
- 22:25You know it. It's like a downward spiral.
- 22:28But you know, it's interesting how us humans, it doesn't matter
- 22:32how self-centered we are when there is a bigger purpose
- 22:38outside of our self, how it can really bring us out.
- 22:42But as you're saying that what came into my mind is it's you
- 22:47know, you know, I'm God's. I'm God's image.
- 22:50I'm made in God's image. How dare I insult him?
- 22:55How dare I put too much alcohol into my body?
- 22:58Or how dare I tell myself that I'm not good enough and all of a
- 23:02sudden it's like that is so key that when you realize that you
- 23:09are something beyond just your human, your human physical.
- 23:16Form that you know is is is really just, you know, Ego.
- 23:21It's it's it's what's going to pass on, you know, one day.
- 23:26But inside of us is something so infinitely powerful in that
- 23:31spirit and spirit can't die. Spirit will never ever die.
- 23:36So yeah, that is so, so, so amazing.
- 23:44So you know, you being a social worker, you being a narrative
- 23:49therapist, you having CBT under your belt, you being able to
- 23:54have some of the most powerful world class methodologies to
- 24:00help people to really step into their magic.
- 24:04And take action. You know when a person comes to
- 24:10see you, like I know you've got this program and I always love
- 24:16to go through like the the modules that are developed in
- 24:21the program because I almost feel like.
- 24:24When you when I kind of, I mean I'm a bit cheeky here, but I'm
- 24:29going to go deep into each one because what that's really going
- 24:32to do is in itself, it's going to help our listeners because
- 24:37I'm so passionate about that happening.
- 24:40So obviously you know you're helping people to come out of
- 24:45that that dark place. And and have this spiritual
- 24:50awakening and realize that there is something so much bigger and
- 24:55better in them. And I mean, you're also an
- 24:57author and you've written a book.
- 24:59What is it That's life, Or is it?
- 25:02That's life. Or is it?
- 25:05You better get that book, everyone.
- 25:07And you know, So what is what when you say that's life?
- 25:12Or is it? Tell us what's behind that
- 25:14philosophy, Um. I guess it's just very often
- 25:17we're like, I guess that's life. That's just what it is.
- 25:20And it's sort of this, you know, like resignation, you know,
- 25:24like, oh, I guess this is what I have to accept.
- 25:26So I posed the question, yeah, that's life.
- 25:29Or is it? Or is there maybe something
- 25:31more? And maybe you don't have to
- 25:33settle for something you don't want.
- 25:35Maybe there's something more you can go after, but so long as
- 25:39you. Go after it.
- 25:41I like that. I like that because it's, you
- 25:45know, I've suddenly got this picture of, you know, a person
- 25:49throwing there. Hands up in the air and going,
- 25:53oh, well, that's life exactly. And then sort of this big long
- 25:57pause and then going, hmm. Or is it?
- 26:01Yeah, exactly there. Must be nothing bigger out
- 26:05there. I love that.
- 26:06So, yeah, that book. I'll have to get my hands on it.
- 26:09Please send me a copy. Yes.
- 26:11Absolutely I will. Yeah, so now step into the magic
- 26:17of your life. When you say that, what exactly
- 26:21do you mean? What is your powerful?
- 26:24So when you're talking about that powerful formula of being
- 26:27able to step into your magic, what does Angela really mean
- 26:33when she says step into your magic?
- 26:36Yeah, it's reconnecting with. That inner child that see, I
- 26:42say, I say like we can all make magic happen but sometimes we
- 26:46lose that and we forget about that and we get so focused on
- 26:49everybody and everything else that we forget about that child
- 26:52who believed in magic, who believed in Santa Claus and saw
- 26:55the world through wonder it like with wonder and excitement and
- 27:00saw magic everywhere and then had this amazing imagination
- 27:04like we want to kind of harness that so now we can have that
- 27:07imagination and. On top of that, as adults the
- 27:12know how to make it happen. So it's connecting, merging that
- 27:16inner wisdom, the adult, the logical adult, with the
- 27:19childlike innocence and creativity to live that life
- 27:22that you want to live, to live that fulfilled life.
- 27:26And who? Well, they're listening.
- 27:28Would like to know how you can do that.
- 27:31Yeah. Would you like to know what
- 27:33Angela is talking about, where she says, you know, come into
- 27:38this magic life and and really embrace that in a child with a
- 27:44whole new sense of? You know, excitement and fun.
- 27:49So I'm going to be really cheeky now and I'm going to walk, walk
- 27:52us through your, you know, like it.
- 27:55It's almost like an 8 step program.
- 27:57So when people are stepping in, they know there's eight steps
- 28:02from where they are to where they're going to go.
- 28:05But you know, you're doing something a little bit unique
- 28:08here because. You're approaching the first
- 28:12step as what is your story and getting really lays illusive
- 28:18focused on it and then how to align it with your dream life.
- 28:23So talk me through that. So the first step is actually it
- 28:27sounds simple, but you'd be amazed at how often we don't do
- 28:31this. It's just asking yourself, what
- 28:33do I actually want? Because very often we tell
- 28:37ourselves what we should want. Or we call or we'll or we'll
- 28:41have settle on. So it's like, I don't really
- 28:43think I can get the thing I want.
- 28:44So I'll settle for this. So the first step is like let's
- 28:49again remember how we talked about shining a light in that
- 28:54how we should shine the light on everything instead of like just.
- 28:59Going around in the metaphorical dark.
- 29:01So it's like, write down all your wants, every want that you
- 29:04have, especially the ones that contradict themselves.
- 29:06Because I promise, when there's probably a should want, all the
- 29:09other ones, probably a genuine one.
- 29:11And let's like actually put it all on paper and put it on out,
- 29:14put it all out there. And then once we're able to do
- 29:17that, then we can look at like, okay, what is it that you out of
- 29:20all of this? What are the should wants?
- 29:22The things that you say I should want, but deep down I don't.
- 29:25And let's just eliminate them. Because the reality is you don't
- 29:27actually want it. You're not going to feel good
- 29:29when you get it, and it's not going to give you anything.
- 29:31So let's just eliminate it and then look.
- 29:34Can you give me an example on that like the should wants
- 29:37compared to the the really do wants?
- 29:40Like what's the typical kind of thing here?
- 29:43Because I know Anthony Robbins always says stop shooting all
- 29:46over yourself. As a person, like when you say
- 29:49write writing down your story and writing down all the things
- 29:52you desire and then also the you know, including the the shoulds,
- 29:57what what's what's the trap that people fall into there.
- 30:01So a should want could be, well, you know, I should get a nine to
- 30:04five and have a stable job and work my hours and then just be
- 30:10happy with that when deep down maybe they're an interpreter and
- 30:13maybe they want to make their own hours and maybe they so it's
- 30:16like. And then it contradicts because
- 30:18it's like, well, I want to be able to travel the world and do
- 30:20all these things, but then I should want to do this.
- 30:22So it's like, well, why don't we just cross out the shoulds?
- 30:26I'm not saying quit your job, but let's just look at what you
- 30:29actually do want. So you don't really want the
- 30:329:00 to 5:00. So how can we figure out a way
- 30:34to get out of that? What is your actual want?
- 30:37So it's. So that's the difference between
- 30:40a should want and then if we take it even a step further than
- 30:42that. So there's the should want, and
- 30:45then there's the. What I would call the settle
- 30:48want. So then we look at so we get rid
- 30:50of the should once and then we look at the rest and we look at
- 30:52each of them and it's like is this what you genuinely want or
- 30:55are you just thinking that's all I can get.
- 30:57So it's like well you know if I can make a six figure salary
- 31:01that's enough. But deep down I want to have a
- 31:04frickin villa in Florence, you know.
- 31:07Now we're talking, you know. So why don't you get yourself to
- 31:12dream big and imagine you're going to get it.
- 31:14Imagine there's you have all the money you have all the
- 31:17opportunity What would that actually look like And I call
- 31:20those the dreams wants like the like it's it's not the I should
- 31:25visit Italy it's the I'm getting a freaking villa in Italy kind
- 31:27of thing you know it's. That Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:29Because I think we, I think sometimes we try to dumb
- 31:32ourselves down a little bit if we're going to be honest with
- 31:35ourselves now that you've. Really alluded me to that
- 31:38because it might be, well, I would say that I typically might
- 31:44put something down there that seemed rational and what I felt
- 31:49that I shouldn't put. When I think about it, it is a
- 31:52should and I've never ever thought of that and I've never
- 31:56heard of that. So that's a really powerful tip.
- 32:01To kind of like you know and and it almost is a bit of a trick
- 32:05actually because it helps you understand how you can dream
- 32:10big. Because I've always wondered in
- 32:13the back of my mind, I've known that they have has been things
- 32:17that I've put down that just seem to make sense.
- 32:20Yeah. And, you know, so you're doing
- 32:23it and wanting it for the wrong reasons, but what you're talking
- 32:26about is really dreaming big and making those big dreams happen
- 32:32rather than just playing small. So yeah, I totally love that.
- 32:38And I mean the next step is embracing your why and going
- 32:43deep past all those superficials.
- 32:48So let's go deep into that, Tell us about how we can go really
- 32:55into our why. Well, cuz that's it.
- 32:57It's great to have your dream. And they should and they should.
- 33:00I just caught myself saying should.
- 33:02And it's important that they're the big dreams.
- 33:04They're like, ah, they set yourself on fire.
- 33:06We also will need to know why we want them, like what are the
- 33:09core values driving them. Because I promise you when
- 33:12obstacles hit you're going to need that why to hold on to for
- 33:16dear life to get you through the obstacles or the hard times.
- 33:18And they're going to have it's going to happen.
- 33:20So we need to know okay why why is this so important to me And
- 33:24often again it's so easy to give a should why like Oh well you
- 33:27know it's going to be good for my family it's going to be good
- 33:31for my you know it'll be nice to have Well that's not enough like
- 33:36you we want to dig deep enough so that it's.
- 33:40Like I say, to succeed you're wise have to be stronger than
- 33:44you're why not. So we need to get a very
- 33:45powerful we need to go deep to like okay, let's remove the
- 33:51okay. My first answer is, oh, it'll be
- 33:52nice for my family, which is great Okay.
- 33:55But why is that important to you?
- 33:56And we keep digging deeper and deeper till it feels so powerful
- 34:00and so inspiring that it's like, well, I will do anything to get
- 34:04this because it's so important to me and that's.
- 34:07What's that that step is all about is really like, let's dig
- 34:11deep and get to why it's so important, beyond the
- 34:14superficial, beyond the shoulds into what's actually driving
- 34:18you. So it's it's really finding out
- 34:23the driving force and you obviously have a very powerful
- 34:28formula as I know that this is something that when you get a
- 34:32good coach, a good mentor and someone that really aligns.
- 34:37With who you are, you know that that person is going to really
- 34:42help you navigate that. And.
- 34:45Yeah, and and and I I do like the way your formula is very
- 34:51unique and you know, I can see by the questions that I'm asking
- 34:55and you're answering how that works and why that makes sense.
- 35:00So. You know guys, if you haven't
- 35:02got a pen and paper and you haven't written down, great that
- 35:06you know, you know, write down let's what's my story and get
- 35:11really loose laser lucid focused on that so that you can really.
- 35:17You know, allow the power of your dreams to come into the
- 35:21reality and ask yourself why? Why do I want this?
- 35:27And you know, go as deep as you can.
- 35:30And of course the next step, which is in the next part of
- 35:34your module, is the smart goal. Yeah.
- 35:39So when you say a smart goal because obviously you've talked
- 35:41about you know, dreaming big, you know, cancelling out the
- 35:46shoulds and now we've got we come into a more like a, a
- 35:52grounded process. So can you talk me through what
- 35:57this is and how you're bringing together the why with the value
- 36:03system and kind of taking people and leading them to their
- 36:07ultimate destiny? How does this work?
- 36:10Yeah. So essentially, like, it's two
- 36:12steps. First, we have to because for
- 36:14the goal to be meaningful, like, it's great to say, like, oh, I
- 36:17want this goal and it's nice, but we want it to be like, oh
- 36:20wow, this is a big dream and we want to know why it's a big
- 36:23dream. And we need to combine those two
- 36:26so that it's a meaningful goal. It's not just a rinky thing
- 36:28goal. It's like, no, no, this is a
- 36:30goal because it's combining what I want with my dream.
- 36:32But then we need to make it specific.
- 36:33It can't just be like, I want to be really rich.
- 36:37OK, what does that mean like? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 36:41This is when we need to paint a very clear picture of this is
- 36:45where I want to go. This is what I want to what I
- 36:47want it to look like. This is my destination because
- 36:50like the reality is if you don't know where you're going, you're
- 36:52never going to get there. So we need to create a crystal
- 36:55clear picture like OK, I want to instead of I want to be really
- 37:00rich is I want to have a 8 figure income.
- 37:06I want to have a villa in on the coast in Florence.
- 37:10I want like you want to make it very specific so it's very clear
- 37:13in your mind. Ah, this is it.
- 37:14This is where I'm going. I'm excited about it.
- 37:16It feels really good. I have a destination if we
- 37:20because like I said, if you don't know where you're going,
- 37:22how will you get there? I'm I'm just as just saying all
- 37:27this I'm kind of having I'm dreaming and I I I trust that
- 37:31every there's people out there that are doing the same thing.
- 37:33So I'm I'm kind of going okay. Yeah this this this kind of
- 37:38money would be amazing and there's always a reason for
- 37:43money anyway. We know that it's not just so
- 37:45people can have you know $8,000,000 stored up in their
- 37:49pantry doing nothing but it's what we can actually do.
- 37:54With the 8,000,000 or the 8 billion or whatever you're
- 37:57dreaming about. But I I had this kind of a
- 38:00vision of, you know, a home in Greece and you know, like this
- 38:05little this, like a beautiful cottage just sitting there
- 38:09overlooking the picturesque. You know, beautiful, you know,
- 38:15environment. And then I had another picture
- 38:18of having a place in my favorite space in orbit which is high up
- 38:24in Bali, where I am going soon, where, you know, the spirit of
- 38:28the gods, the island of wards and it's and then I'm like,
- 38:31yeah, I could have all these. Kind of places around the world
- 38:37where I can just pop in and visit whenever I like and my
- 38:40family can do it as well. But it's interesting how, you
- 38:45know, just listening to what you're saying just does really
- 38:51awaken that. So for someone who's struggling
- 38:55perhaps out there. Are there any tips and tricks
- 38:59on, you know, if because you can imagine if someone really is in
- 39:03the, you know, the the really the deepest, darkest back space.
- 39:08How do you get them to move into a completely different mindset
- 39:13where they're suddenly dreaming of that, that holiday home in
- 39:17France or that house that they're living, you know, by the
- 39:20sea Like how what's what's the. The best thing that someone like
- 39:25that can do to start dreaming big.
- 39:28Yeah, so often that person that you're describing is the people
- 39:32please, or the one who just overburdens themselves with too
- 39:35many things to do and just constantly trying to do things
- 39:38for other people and feeling overwhelmed and exhausted and
- 39:41probably a little resentful or a lot resentful and burnt out.
- 39:44And they've kind of lost track of who they are because who they
- 39:47are is dependent on everyone else and doing things for other
- 39:50people. So what?
- 39:52I teach them, and it's going to sound so silly, but it actually
- 39:55makes such a difference. It's a simple phrase whenever
- 39:58somebody asks them to do something, to just say let me
- 40:02get back to you. So instead of saying yes or no,
- 40:04just be like, oh, let me get back to you tonight and then ask
- 40:08themselves, do I actually want to do this?
- 40:11And if not, what do I want to do?
- 40:14And it doesn't mean I'm going to expect you to suddenly start
- 40:16saying no or anything, but I want.
- 40:18What I would want that person to do is to start listening to
- 40:21themselves and listen to their inner voice, because often they
- 40:24tell me I don't even know what I want.
- 40:25Well, of course you don't. You haven't been listening to
- 40:27that voice in so long, Why would you do?
- 40:29It. So let's start small and just
- 40:31start listening to that. Like, OK, well, somebody asks me
- 40:34to do something. Yes or no?
- 40:35Do I actually want to do it? No.
- 40:37OK, Already you're listening to that voice.
- 40:39Great. Well, what do you want to do
- 40:41this? OK, well, at least you're
- 40:43starting to bring awareness to that voice because the more you
- 40:45can do that then. And the more you've developed
- 40:49the ability to listen to that voice, well then the more you
- 40:52can actually start taking action and knowing what you want and
- 40:56paying attention to what you want, it won't be as
- 40:58intimidating because you'll have developed that skill.
- 41:00So it's a simple reason. Let me get back to you and then
- 41:04ask yourself, do I wanna do it? Very, very smart.
- 41:07I need to tell my husband that, you know, don't don't answer on
- 41:12my behalf, don't answer, you know, Australia.
- 41:16Just pause and and and just tell them that you're going to get
- 41:19back. And so in terms of, you know,
- 41:23getting them to dream about what they truly want, do you take
- 41:28them through a like a a visual? Visualization.
- 41:33I know that you know with with what we learned through NLP,
- 41:38it's always based on what are you seeing, what are you hearing
- 41:43and what are you feeling, which is VAK, right?
- 41:47So to sometimes it's very difficult for a person who's in
- 41:53a very stuck bad place. To suddenly imagine what their
- 41:59life is going to look like when it's so incredibly bright and
- 42:05everything's good and they're feeling fabulous, right.
- 42:08Because they're sort of stuck over here.
- 42:11So I know one of the tricks that with NLP, and I'm not sure what
- 42:15your method is, is actually getting them to see both and,
- 42:20you know, with the awareness of, OK, this is where you are now
- 42:23and kind of like stepping out of almost like.
- 42:26They're they're being very objective and somehow there's
- 42:29this magic of, well, take yourself out of it, you know?
- 42:32Get out of the freaking way of yourself at the moment and just
- 42:36take yourself out and go right. See yourself over there, over
- 42:41eating, over drinking, sabotaging yourself, being lazy,
- 42:44unmotivated. Whatever you're doing, you know
- 42:47how you do it when you're in that space now over here, what
- 42:53is it that you know? You would be doing in the ideal
- 42:58world and then getting them to really picture into that.
- 43:02And I know that that's kind of like the format that we go
- 43:05through. What's your format to really
- 43:07help that person to to see their goal?
- 43:10Yeah, so like things like I love visualization, things that we're
- 43:15visual creatures, we even when we think, we think in pictures
- 43:20most of the times, so. I And often we get stuck.
- 43:24Like you said, people get stuck within themselves.
- 43:26So to actually have them visualize themselves.
- 43:29I love the idea of like, okay, you have full permission to be
- 43:32in this dark spot. Yes, it's a lovely spot.
- 43:34You can stay there. Okay, it's fine.
- 43:37And now imagine another you at a different.
- 43:41Spot. Maybe that was a trick.
- 43:48It's different. So it's sometimes it's a matter
- 43:50of. Looking at like OK, well there's
- 43:54a reason you're this way like it's something that it's as it
- 43:57sounds so strange but it's even giving them permission to be
- 43:59like, OK, you're like that that's fine.
- 44:01Just why don't we just accept this is where you're at.
- 44:04You know how we said we need a destination We also need a
- 44:06starting point. So why don't we accept where
- 44:08you're at And that's OK. There's no could have should
- 44:12have would haves. It doesn't matter.
- 44:13Let's just start with accepting this is where you're at.
- 44:16And yes, and the world comes into play.
- 44:19Yeah, exactly. And the more we do that, then
- 44:23the more like once they can feel OK.
- 44:25I'm not being judged for being here.
- 44:27I can or they can stop judging themselves for being there.
- 44:30Then they give themselves permission to actually dream
- 44:34bigger and to start thinking and even again start listening to
- 44:37the small ones. Because if you're not used to,
- 44:39if you're not used to know, if you don't, if you haven't paid
- 44:41attention to yourself for so long, how can you possibly know
- 44:44what you want and why? Like where you want to go?
- 44:46So let's start with the small things.
- 44:48Do I feel like going for a walk today?
- 44:50It doesn't matter if you do it or not.
- 44:51I just want you to pay attention to that voice that says I feel
- 44:53like going for a walk or I feel like doing this, or I I don't
- 44:57want to do this, but I'd rather do this.
- 45:00Start listening to those little wants and then and now we can
- 45:03give you. You can give yourself permission
- 45:05to have the bigger wants. Let's remove the obstacle.
- 45:08Let's pretend you're going to get it no matter what.
- 45:10Okay, you're guaranteed to win. What would that look like?
- 45:13Let's pretend fear is not an issue, like you have the
- 45:17courage. Which they do, but they don't
- 45:19necessarily know that yet. But let's begin.
- 45:21You have the courage. What would that look like?
- 45:23And so when we start eliminating all those reasons why they can't
- 45:26do it or they see that they're they're allowed to be given
- 45:31hypothetically because again, that's less threatening
- 45:33hypothetically, a reason to do something or a way to see
- 45:37something, then they're more than people are more likely to
- 45:39be like okay. It's just, you know, it's just a
- 45:41vision. It's not something I have to do
- 45:43just yet because that's really scary.
- 45:45And you know, fair enough, it is scary.
- 45:47But if I can let my imagination again, it comes back to being a
- 45:50child, right? Like letting that imagination
- 45:52come out. Letting their self play.
- 45:55Be a kid again. Imagine all this possible.
- 45:57What would that look like? Yeah.
- 46:00And for you viewers at home listening or maybe listening as
- 46:05you're driving or wherever you are or maybe walking, taking a
- 46:08brisk walk, you know, one of the things.
- 46:11That you're going to find out soon is you may have heard
- 46:15Angela say that you know you need courage and then you know
- 46:21the the monkey mind might step in and go where the heck am I
- 46:24going to get courage from, you know?
- 46:28So really what it's about is we're going to show you because
- 46:32this is part of her program where as we so stay listening
- 46:38guys because as we go deeper. You've just got a few steps
- 46:42left. You're gonna find out where
- 46:45you're gonna get your courage, where you're gonna get your fun,
- 46:49where you're gonna get all those magic resources.
- 46:53So stay tuned. So, yeah, So the the next step,
- 46:57of course, is the one that is possibly the most, I guess,
- 47:04sabotaging one that people tend to neglect.
- 47:08And that's the action. But this is before you get them
- 47:13to take action. I love the fact that you get
- 47:16them to do an action plan. So yeah, let's learn about the
- 47:23action. Plan And here's the thing with
- 47:26the action plan. See, either people ignore it
- 47:28altogether, just run right into the unknown and then get
- 47:33overwhelmed. Or, and this is are they make?
- 47:37Are the action steps are so vague and far in between that
- 47:40it's like oh it's really hard to get to or it's so convoluted and
- 47:44people are looking at like well let me get every eventuality
- 47:47because deep down I'm kind of stressed that maybe I won't be
- 47:50prepared. So I have to over prepare and I
- 47:53have this like super convoluted. Like I almost picture somebody
- 47:57tied up and like just stuck like kind of waddling through because
- 48:01there's just there's just too many if ands or buts and then
- 48:05they get lost in that. Are my personal favorite.
- 48:07Is when people and I and I say this having been guilty of all
- 48:12these things, like I developed this plan because I lived
- 48:14through all the ways not to do it.
- 48:18But sometimes people get stuck in the action in the I have to
- 48:22have the perfect plan mentality and it's an excuse to not take
- 48:26action because there's never going to be a perfect plan.
- 48:28So when we do the action plan together, all we do is we look
- 48:31at the next two or three steps. That's it.
- 48:34What are the next immediate steps you have to take.
- 48:36We know the destination, we know where you wanna end up.
- 48:39So now we just need to know what are the next steps to get you
- 48:42just a little bit closer to that and how it's.
- 48:46Good. Yeah.
- 48:48And then, of course, it's practicing, isn't it?
- 48:50So that whole. Evolution of taking that action
- 48:59plan and knowing what works and what doesn't work then.
- 49:05Ooh, so you even go into that element of well, maybe that
- 49:10action plan didn't work after all.
- 49:12And you, you know, what did you practice?
- 49:15And I think this is the magic of having the right coach and
- 49:21mentor. And when you hear that this is
- 49:24exactly what Angela does, that's when you know that.
- 49:29You're going to be able to face up to that because I I think a
- 49:33lot of places they don't, they don't mention that, you know,
- 49:35they do. They go out and say take action
- 49:38and then everybody's going, well, where do I start?
- 49:40What do I do? And then they come back and they
- 49:42don't confess that it didn't work or they didn't put it into
- 49:46practice. So you've come up with this next
- 49:49step, which is evaluating. And as you evaluate the plan of
- 49:54action, you're assessing what worked and what doesn't work.
- 49:58So tell us about that. What, how does that work and
- 50:01what is the big draw card of, you know, people being able to
- 50:07go through this with you? Yeah.
- 50:10Well, because again, often it's like you said beautifully.
- 50:12People just take action, like, OK, and then they take another
- 50:15action and maybe they end up repeating the same thing over
- 50:18and over and they're hitting their head against like, what I
- 50:20call a metaphorical wall, right? When in reality, it's like,
- 50:23well, why don't we take a step back?
- 50:25We took the action. Now we need to look at is it
- 50:28working, is it take like, are we getting closer to where we want
- 50:31to be? If if it is, great, okay, what
- 50:33is the next step if it's not working or is it partially
- 50:36working like some parts are working, that's great, but maybe
- 50:38it needs to be a little adapted a little bit so it's sort of
- 50:43creates it instead of. And again the other pieces like
- 50:46we can be so judgmental, right? And we can be like, what's wrong
- 50:49with me? I'm failing or we can.
- 50:51Blame other people like it's everybody else's fault.
- 50:54It's not working. So what this does, it kind of
- 50:57makes you more of an objective observer, almost like a
- 50:59scientist, right? You did the experiment and now
- 51:02you're evaluating the data. That's it.
- 51:03That's all. There's no bad.
- 51:06It's anyone else's fault. It's just like facts.
- 51:08This is unwell. This is what didn't go well.
- 51:10This is what needs to be adjusted.
- 51:12This was an unexpected occurrence that happened.
- 51:14Okay, Great. Now what can I do about it?
- 51:17So it just gives you the tools to.
- 51:20And the indication of like Okay, well, what's my next step now
- 51:23based on this step, maybe it didn't work at all.
- 51:26Okay, well, maybe it didn't work, but it highlighted an
- 51:29issue that I didn't think of that I need to address to get it
- 51:32even closer. So at least now let me address
- 51:34that issue. And that's the power of a good
- 51:36evaluation and then to have the. Power of brightness and success
- 51:40and people that really, really big in their industry in their
- 51:45field. Because I'm just having this
- 51:49kind of flashback to where we were taught that when you're
- 51:55looking at something that didn't work, like what you're talking
- 51:59about, and then you're looking at the other element that does
- 52:03work, and then you're saying that you're acting like that
- 52:06objective scientist. So you're sort of stepping out
- 52:09and you've almost got, you know, your hand on your chin and your
- 52:12your eyes are looking upward and you're going.
- 52:16Okay. And then you really being able
- 52:19to look at what didn't work and really see what did work and
- 52:26that that is a huge secret to greatness.
- 52:30So I I would even be naming that that specific module, you know,
- 52:37evaluating the plan of action towards your greatest success,
- 52:43because I feel that that is going to be such a huge piece.
- 52:51For people who are very high achieving and you know that
- 52:54you're a high achiever, I'm a high achiever.
- 52:57So therefore we're going to attract other people who are
- 53:00high achievers. And guys, I think one of the
- 53:03biggest fellacies is that we think that people who are
- 53:06really, you know, superior, confident, great, they show up
- 53:11with this, you know, magnetic aura and this ability and maybe
- 53:16they're succeeding as well. You think that they don't have
- 53:19to deal with adversity. They had the biggest adversities
- 53:24right. You would know Angela.
- 53:27Absolutely. Well, it's in the adversities
- 53:29that you learn and you grow if you let yourself.
- 53:32It's in the failures that you can see like this didn't work,
- 53:35but you know what? It like we said, it highlights
- 53:38something that maybe I can take into account next time.
- 53:41And now I'm that much wiser and moving forward, I'm not gonna
- 53:44make the same mistake cuz I took the time to figure out what the
- 53:47mistake was and then move forward from it.
- 53:50So. Yeah, that's huge.
- 53:52It's a huge, huge piece. Yes.
- 53:55Yeah, it so is and I'm just. Really, as I'm walking through
- 54:00this with you, because my higher consciousness understands what
- 54:05you're talking about, I'm just kind of like processing and
- 54:08feeling better already, you know?
- 54:11So if I was feeling 80%, I'm feeling like 98% right now.
- 54:16So here's the part that I'm sure a lot of people are waiting to
- 54:19hear and it's it's really about the part where you're breaking
- 54:27free from. The inner child and the element
- 54:32of what you are, you know that that's a piece of it.
- 54:36And of course you've you've just got to stick around for a little
- 54:39bit longer because in the next piece you're going to find out
- 54:42we're going to talk about now healing the inner child and then
- 54:46we're going to talk about how to the courage doesn't have to come
- 54:51from the kitchen cupboard. Can we just say that, guys?
- 54:55Yeah, so let's talk about breaking free of the insecure
- 55:01and fearful child. So talk us through that.
- 55:06What does this person do with you and what does that look
- 55:11like? Yeah.
- 55:12So inevitably whenever you do something big and something
- 55:17really. Important to you.
- 55:19It's scary. It's really freaking scary.
- 55:22And so it's going to bring out all those insecurities and all
- 55:24those worries and all those fears.
- 55:26And what this step does is, again, it shines a light.
- 55:29What are the actual fears? What are the worries?
- 55:32Because what they actually really are is that scared inner
- 55:35child, that part of you. And we all have it, that was
- 55:38wounded at some point. Disappointed, hurt, scared.
- 55:43Well, she, I say she for me. But that child will come
- 55:47screaming, come screaming at you with you.
- 55:50I'm not good enough. I can't do it.
- 55:51I'm too stupid like all those things.
- 55:53So what we do in this step is we go to that child and we heal her
- 55:56and we we become. We give her the chance to let
- 56:01herself. First of all again I say herself
- 56:04the child be heard. Because I think that poor child
- 56:08has been silent and told you're not allowed to feel this way.
- 56:10You can't feel this way. You can't.
- 56:11So it's been. Sort of holding it all in and
- 56:15carrying this big burden, you know that that image of me with
- 56:17the rock, that was the child holding on to the rock.
- 56:20So first of all, we let it know like, hey, why don't you, let's
- 56:23give you the space to actually express all those feelings, all
- 56:27those insecurities. You're safe, you're loved.
- 56:30Let's give ourselves a chance to parent, to see that child, to
- 56:33separate ourselves from that child.
- 56:35See that, that that young child who's just so scared and sad and
- 56:38worried, holding on to way too many burdens.
- 56:42And give it some love and compassion and say like, OK, you
- 56:44know what? Cuz if we saw we're hard on
- 56:47ourselves, but if we saw ourselves as that child and you
- 56:49see a child, you're not gonna be like, wow, you're a piece of
- 56:51garbage. You're not gonna do that.
- 56:52You're gonna be like, Oh my God, this poor child, why are you
- 56:54holding on to all these things? Yeah, I mean, I just had another
- 56:59visual. Just you must be a really visual
- 57:02teacher because the way you're describing it must be your
- 57:05highest, you know, system of how you process.
- 57:09Because I just had this kind of a flashback, and I know you're
- 57:13like me, you do work with both men and women.
- 57:16So I'm thinking like, for the woman, I'm almost imagining her
- 57:20going back as the godmother and the and the and the man going
- 57:25back as like the Wizard of Oz or something like.
- 57:28And and and going back. And then this little child, like
- 57:31the inner child is comes running up like it's a long lost, you
- 57:36know, favorite grandparent and just kind of wraps their arms
- 57:40around and then starts telling all the truth.
- 57:44This happened to me and this happened to me and this happened
- 57:46to me. And with that love and that
- 57:51compassion and that and give that child the chance to just
- 57:55get it all out. And then.
- 57:57And this is where, and This is why it was so important at the
- 58:00beginning to figure out what do you want, Who are you?
- 58:02What are your values? That's that inner wisdom.
- 58:05Now we can tap into that adult logical you and parent that
- 58:08child and give it the comfort that it needed to hear all those
- 58:12years ago. Well, now you have the
- 58:13opportunity. It's never too late.
- 58:14So now you have the opportunity to heal that child and give them
- 58:17that. And that's what this step is all
- 58:18about. But we needed to go through all
- 58:20the other steps to get you to that level, to be able to do
- 58:24that. It's never too late to have a
- 58:26happy childhood. And now for the drum roll.
- 58:32Where's the drums? I haven't got my band yet.
- 58:36But you know what? It's And this is the part where
- 58:42the Fairy Godmother or the Wizard of Oz says okay, I hear
- 58:47you child, what do you need? And this is the part where
- 58:52Angela harnesses. The wisdom and reconnects you to
- 58:59your future self and it's almost like they there we are in our
- 59:05adult form, like our higher self, speaking to their inner
- 59:09child and asking them to connect with the resources that they are
- 59:15going to have and travel through their life with as a pattern to
- 59:20meet that complete higher self. So tell us about harnessing this
- 59:26wisdom and and reconnecting into that higher self.
- 59:31And so part of it, because often what tends to happen, I've
- 59:34actually even had clients afterwards tell me it's like, Oh
- 59:37my God, it. The child and the adult were so
- 59:40enmeshed and it was so hard to tell them apart.
- 59:42But now that I could separate them, it's so easy to see myself
- 59:46as the adult comforting the child.
- 59:47And that's the piece that's the part that we work on together is
- 59:51let's. You know how we always say like
- 59:54I know I've said this and I'm sure, I'm sure the viewers, you
- 59:58guys have said this too. And you too, Terry.
- 1:00:00Where it's like well, logically I know this, but emotionally I,
- 1:00:03you know, I don't believe it or logically I know.
- 1:00:07But emotionally it's a different, I'm feeling something
- 1:00:09different. Well, the logical view, that's
- 1:00:11the inner wisdom, the emotional view, that's the wounded child.
- 1:00:15So what we do is we separate the two, we see the inner child, we
- 1:00:18see where that came from and then we we give it the space.
- 1:00:23Again, to express and let itself say what it needs to say, and
- 1:00:28then we comfort it the way it needs, the way that child needs
- 1:00:31to be comforted. And that's how you harden it,
- 1:00:34because you already have it. It's there, You have the logical
- 1:00:36part, the logical part of you that's saying, well, wait, I
- 1:00:38know better and I know this and I know this.
- 1:00:40It's just that inner child screaming so loud.
- 1:00:43We need to comfort it, to calm it down so that it can hear that
- 1:00:46piece. And that's really what that is.
- 1:00:49You know, it's like when you're growing up and you're a kid.
- 1:00:54And I remember 1 Christmas Eve, I couldn't sleep because I was
- 1:00:58lying in bed and I couldn't wait for it to be Christmas.
- 1:01:01So I just wanted to go out to the Christmas tree and open up
- 1:01:04all my presents, right? And I can just imagine it's
- 1:01:08like, well, instead of opening up presents and materialistic
- 1:01:11things like cars and dogs or this or that, it's kind of like.
- 1:01:17Oh, I'm going to open up. Look what I've got.
- 1:01:21I've got courage. And then kind of like ingrading
- 1:01:25it and then opening up the next one and Oh my gosh, I've got
- 1:01:29love and opening up the next president.
- 1:01:34Oh my goodness. Look what's inside here.
- 1:01:36It's fun. So, you know, I I I love that.
- 1:01:41I love how you have really provoked so much vision.
- 1:01:47Through your, you know, transformational teaching and of
- 1:01:52course you know a a solid rock solid program just wouldn't be a
- 1:01:59a rock solid program without the secret source.
- 1:02:03And you know the the the big grand finale of what it now
- 1:02:10takes. To go forward and what you are
- 1:02:13teaching and preaching to those people to go out in the world,
- 1:02:19what is the #1 secret source? Once they've gone through all of
- 1:02:23this and they've really transformed, what now?
- 1:02:28What next? So it's harnessing the power of
- 1:02:30support. And The thing is, some people
- 1:02:34might ask, well, why don't you ask for help at the beginning?
- 1:02:36Because you're not ready to do it yet.
- 1:02:37You need to go through your journey.
- 1:02:39You need to. Experience some of the struggles
- 1:02:42and develop. Heal that inner child and
- 1:02:44develop that voice to say like no, no, I am capable.
- 1:02:47I am confident I'm coming from a place of strength not a place of
- 1:02:51oh I, you know I'm I don't feel confident so I'm ashamed that
- 1:02:55really asked for what I need or the opposite where it's like I
- 1:02:59have to prove myself No, no. You know who you are.
- 1:03:02The last step is now we need to get.
- 1:03:04You don't have to do this alone. Who's the expert?
- 1:03:07You know, there's always going to be someone who who's done it
- 1:03:09before. You don't have to reinvent the
- 1:03:10wheel. So who's the expert?
- 1:03:12Who is the person who can actually help me on the ground
- 1:03:15and get things done? And then who can keep me
- 1:03:17accountable? And sometimes all three of those
- 1:03:19people could be the same person. But make sure that you have
- 1:03:22those 3 components. And once you have that, so
- 1:03:27imagine this right? You know what you want.
- 1:03:30You had. You know how to make an action
- 1:03:31plan. You know how to evaluate your
- 1:03:32progress. You can.
- 1:03:34You've calmed the inner child down.
- 1:03:35You've developed those strengths, that confidence.
- 1:03:37You've learned how to overcome obstacles, and now you have.
- 1:03:40You're not doing it alone. My God, you can accomplish
- 1:03:42anything at this point. Like you're going to get your
- 1:03:45goal. You're already getting your
- 1:03:46goal, like it's happening. And then you can just replicate
- 1:03:48this over and over again as your dreams expand and as you develop
- 1:03:52new wants and new wishes and desires.
- 1:03:55It's yeah, like after that you're good.
- 1:03:57You are going to get your goals, I promise you.
- 1:04:01Oh, and yes, so Napoleon Hill wrote this too in his book Think
- 1:04:07and Grow Rich, and it was, he called it the Mastermind team
- 1:04:14and it it actually a lot of your theories and methodologies
- 1:04:20remind me of, you know, the training through Think and Grow
- 1:04:24Rich. Like he has one chapter where he
- 1:04:27has an actual conversation with the devil.
- 1:04:31And you know, and he switches seats and the devil really is
- 1:04:35the shadow self. And it's, it's really getting to
- 1:04:39know your dark side, the other side, the light side, the dark
- 1:04:43side and the light side. And then you know the the secret
- 1:04:48source. And he didn't call it his secret
- 1:04:50source, but it came up as the mastermind.
- 1:04:54So he actually had. Real.
- 1:04:58I mean, he had mastermind people around him because he went out
- 1:05:02and interviewed many, many of the greatest people in history
- 1:05:06back then, right? But he also had an invisible
- 1:05:09mastermind team. Oh yeah, I heard about that.
- 1:05:12That's really cool. Yeah.
- 1:05:14Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:05:16And so, you know, it's like I can remember when I, when I did
- 1:05:19that, I I I hired the Queen. And Oprah Winfrey and Jesus.
- 1:05:26And I had all these amazing people that would be sitting at
- 1:05:30the table and I would say, well, what would they say here?
- 1:05:33You don't need to hold a meeting.
- 1:05:35But, you know, like you're saying you can't do this alone.
- 1:05:40Greatness does not walk alone. And I feel that's a really big
- 1:05:45lesson for me to learn, too, because I've always been very.
- 1:05:49Individualized. And you know, even sort of
- 1:05:53growing up, you know, in a family business where we were
- 1:05:56together running a family business in real estate, we were
- 1:06:00very much in our own kind of domains, which you can still be
- 1:06:07isolated in a house full of people.
- 1:06:11And and what Angela's saying here is.
- 1:06:15You know, you've got to be able to have people not only
- 1:06:18surrounding yourself. It's it's okay to surround
- 1:06:21yourself with great people. But if you're not actually
- 1:06:24seeking them out, then it's like everything.
- 1:06:28You can be lonely in a crowd. So you know who, who are your
- 1:06:34some of your greatest people like?
- 1:06:35You don't have to name them, but what are they?
- 1:06:38What? What are they actually bringing
- 1:06:40to the table For you? That's really vital.
- 1:06:43You know, past, present, future. What?
- 1:06:46What sort of people are these for you?
- 1:06:50So there is the there is accountability is a big one.
- 1:06:55I definitely the people who keep me accountable and keep me on
- 1:06:58track and keep me focused on what I need to be focusing on.
- 1:07:04Then there's the spiritual wisdom.
- 1:07:07Is a bit. Yeah, that's a big one, isn't
- 1:07:09it? Yeah, that's huge.
- 1:07:10Probably like top of my list. Oh yeah, I agree.
- 1:07:16So I have my and you know, whether whether it's spiritual,
- 1:07:20spiritual, or people who are very spiritual and you have that
- 1:07:23connection with them. So those are.
- 1:07:24Yeah, so you've got the accountability where you're
- 1:07:28accountable to someone. You've got that spiritual
- 1:07:33spirituality concept. What what would you suggest is
- 1:07:37the a good third one? Yeah, a good third one is the
- 1:07:40mentors, the people who've already done it or who who have
- 1:07:43the knowledge and the skill and the know how.
- 1:07:45Like that's another. And who can actually help me and
- 1:07:49can because it could feel very lonely.
- 1:07:51And like, OK, there's many roads that will lead me to my
- 1:07:55destination. Yeah, why?
- 1:07:57Why? Why take the long route and why
- 1:07:59make all the mistakes? Why not jump on the shoulders of
- 1:08:02a giant and learn how to get there quicker?
- 1:08:06It just makes very much sense. It's not rocket science, is it?
- 1:08:10And you know what? I know the concept.
- 1:08:12I'm. I'm completely always teaching
- 1:08:14it in my container. And that is that we require,
