- 0:15Speaker 1: and podcasts and all sorts of stuff and culture dot
- 0:19Speaker 1: substack dot com and culture. How you doing fantastic?
- 0:24Speaker 2: How are you, Mark Simone?
- 0:26Speaker 1: I'm good, I'm good. Uh, hey, let me see this.
- 0:30Speaker 1: You know, you see Berkeley, that's a terrible college. There's
- 0:33Speaker 1: a turning point event there. Yesterday Antifa gets violent, goes crazy.
- 0:38Speaker 1: University didn't have enough protection. Uh, everybody says when it's
- 0:41Speaker 1: a liberal speaker, to make sure there's plenty of security.
- 0:45Speaker 1: But not for this one. Justice Department now taking a
- 0:48Speaker 1: look at going after them. Uh you speak at all
- 0:51Speaker 1: these colleges, what what is wrong with them?
- 0:53Speaker 2: Well, you remember they should have sent the nationally they
- 0:57Speaker 2: Trump should have sent the national Guard. When when Berkeley
- 1:02Speaker 2: shut down my speech, and I think I think it
- 1:04Speaker 2: was twenty seventeen. I went back the next year, but
- 1:08Speaker 2: I had the Proud Boys protecting me. That was November
- 1:11Speaker 2: twenty nineteen, and several thousand Antifa showed up. Yeah, don't
- 1:17Speaker 2: expect local law enforcement. I've directed not to protect or
- 1:23Speaker 2: the campus security to protect you. Trump should have done
- 1:27Speaker 2: this long ago. We should have done it when it started.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Listened to Senator Tom Cotton. These are state universities. That's
- 1:36Speaker 2: why we have civil rights laws because states, certain states
- 1:42Speaker 2: back then, the Democrat states of the old Confederacy, weren't
- 1:46Speaker 2: enforcing the rights of black Americans. That's why we have
- 1:51Speaker 2: the ability of the federal government. Well, even from the
- 1:53Speaker 2: beginning of our country, the very reason we have a
- 1:56Speaker 2: constitution and a strong president was to put down mob actions,
- 2:01Speaker 2: criminal behavior in our country. Surprisingly enough, the founding fathers
- 2:06Speaker 2: were not thinking about what can we do to help
- 2:10Speaker 2: Syria or Ukraine, was to protect our country. And yeah,
- 2:15Speaker 2: drump should have been doing this from the beginning, and
- 2:17Speaker 2: it wouldn't keep happening. Well, I'm glad he's sending in
- 2:20Speaker 2: National Guard to protect ice agents. But when this happens
- 2:23Speaker 2: on college campuses, particularly college campuses that are state institutions,
- 2:29Speaker 2: though according to Supreme Court rulings, even private colleges have
- 2:33Speaker 2: to have to but they well, all everybody has to
- 2:37Speaker 2: obey federal law. But federal troops could go in and
- 2:40Speaker 2: enforce things against private university because of all the money
- 2:43Speaker 2: they've taken student aid and research money.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Well, the good news is Antife has now been officially
- 2:48Speaker 1: declared a terrorist group. This Department of Justice letters are
- 2:52Speaker 1: going after UC Berkeley for allowing terrorism on the campus.
- 2:56Speaker 1: And this will allow the Department Justice to really step
- 2:59Speaker 1: in and do something.
- 3:00Speaker 2: But well, they ought to. This is something I mean,
- 3:05Speaker 2: this is this is why a lot of people like
- 3:07Speaker 2: me support this idea of America first. We're constantly solving
- 3:13Speaker 2: the rest of the world's problems. We're constantly getting Americans
- 3:16Speaker 2: and the news media, oh, focus on what's going on
- 3:19Speaker 2: in Europe now, and what's going on in the Middle
- 3:22Speaker 2: East and what's going on in the Balkans. Can we
- 3:24Speaker 2: please pay attention to what's going on to Americans because
- 3:28Speaker 2: our country is in trouble and this is what we
- 3:31Speaker 2: expected Trump to do. Put our interests first.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yes, the shutdown Democrats what a victory? Huh? Could you
- 3:38Speaker 1: tell me what they achieved with the shutdown?
- 3:41Speaker 2: Yet it did not work well and the argument they're
- 3:44Speaker 2: making and Republicans are going to have to learn to
- 3:47Speaker 2: navigate this. Although sorry, let's let's pause for a moment
- 3:50Speaker 2: to celebrate what knuckleheads the Democrats look like. No one
- 3:55Speaker 2: has ever wont to shut down, so I don't know
- 3:58Speaker 2: why they would think they could win this, but they're thinking, oh,
- 4:01Speaker 2: because they want to keep subsidizing Americans healthcare. I've always
- 4:06Speaker 2: thought Republicans are too afraid of this issue. Their voters
- 4:12Speaker 2: are not made up of welfare recipients. There may be
- 4:15Speaker 2: some Trump voters who have had your reli on public
- 4:18Speaker 2: assistance for a time or two, but this permanent underclass,
- 4:24Speaker 2: just generation after generation after generation living on welfare, having
- 4:27Speaker 2: other Americans pay for them, pay for their food, pay
- 4:31Speaker 2: for their health care. I think senators like Josh Holly
- 4:36Speaker 2: are making a big mistake acting like, oh, yeah, this
- 4:39Speaker 2: is the Trump base. No, you're insulting the Trump base.
- 4:41Speaker 2: It isn't true, and I think most Americans are sick
- 4:45Speaker 2: of paying for other people's healthcare food. The Snap benefits issue, man,
- 4:52Speaker 2: thank god for Twitter. It has been all over Twitter
- 4:55Speaker 2: showing you know, obviously quite able bodied people, a lot
- 5:00Speaker 2: of the men threatening to go loose and rob stores
- 5:03Speaker 2: if they don't get their Snap benefits anymore. I'm thinking,
- 5:06Speaker 2: if they have that much, I mean you can see
- 5:08Speaker 2: them time. They have enough, plenty of energy. It look
- 5:10Speaker 2: like strong young men. Surely they could get a job.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Ditto for the women. If anything could stand to lose
- 5:17Speaker 2: a few pounds and healthcare. Nobody cared about me losing
- 5:23Speaker 2: my healthcare under Obamacare. One thing you will notice is
- 5:26Speaker 2: a difference between Republicans and Democrats. When Republicans save people,
- 5:31Speaker 2: solve an issue, and do solve an issue, that issue
- 5:34Speaker 2: goes away forever. They actually do solve it. For example,
- 5:38Speaker 2: Ronald Reagan ending the Cold War, defeating the Soviet Union,
- 5:42Speaker 2: puff gone, Soviet Union is no more, Rudy Giuliani solving
- 5:47Speaker 2: crime not only in New York City but basically across America. Well,
- 5:51Speaker 2: then Republicans lose that as an issue to run on.
- 5:53Speaker 2: We start running on it again. Now, cut taxes. Reagan
- 5:56Speaker 2: did it. They never went back up to close the
- 6:00Speaker 2: level they were before he came in. When Democrats solve
- 6:03Speaker 2: a problem like healthcare or poor people, they just make
- 6:08Speaker 2: the problem so much bigger and it just it was
- 6:11Speaker 2: always amazing to me watching the Democratic primaries, you know,
- 6:15Speaker 2: every four years since Obama, and their big subject is
- 6:19Speaker 2: Americans can't get health care. It's a disaster. Yeah, okay,
- 6:23Speaker 2: you guys said Obamacare would fix this and you made
- 6:26Speaker 2: it worse. So we can't get back to them. That's
- 6:28Speaker 2: the one premise we need to start with. And then
- 6:31Speaker 2: Republicans have to figure out how to do this in
- 6:33Speaker 2: a fair way and stop giving better health care to
- 6:36Speaker 2: illegal aliens and welfare recipients than hardworking Americans.
- 6:42Speaker 1: They can't claim Obamacare is working anymore, because if it was,
- 6:44Speaker 1: it wouldn't be an issue right now. We wouldn't have
- 6:46Speaker 1: better shutdown over it. We wouldn't be talking about it
- 6:48Speaker 1: if it was right.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Everyone just pretends that they they don't remember Obamacare happened?
- 6:56Speaker 1: Do we lose her? Oh? There you are, you're still there.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, something happened.
- 7:02Speaker 1: We lost you for a second. Hey we only got
- 7:03Speaker 1: a minute left. Friday's the final day of MSNBC. It
- 7:07Speaker 1: then becomes it then becomes ms now from a tiny
- 7:12Speaker 1: studio that got kicked out of them. What do you
- 7:14Speaker 1: think will they survive?
- 7:17Speaker 2: They're kidding, I can't see a bit repetitive. I'm going
- 7:20Speaker 2: to mention that to you, Mark. It's a little tough
- 7:24Speaker 2: even for those of us who enjoy laughing at liberals.
- 7:27Speaker 2: I don't think ms I was kind of noticing recently,
- 7:30Speaker 2: like with a shutdown, MSNBC is not good for the Democrats.
- 7:34Speaker 2: We really should hope that it continues. They they represent
- 7:38Speaker 2: the far progressive left. They are, you know, tickled pink
- 7:41Speaker 2: over Zorhan Mom, Donnie. I think they are taking the
- 7:46Speaker 2: Democratic Party in a direction that is not good for
- 7:49Speaker 2: the Democrats, but is good for Republicans. So maybe we
- 7:53Speaker 2: should try to get MSNBC a little more, a little
- 7:57Speaker 2: more visibility.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Oh very good, Yeah, very good insight into that. Well,
- 8:01Speaker 1: everybody check out and Culture on Twitter. Make sure you
