- 0:10SPEAKER_01: Uh good or no.
- 0:14SPEAKER_02: But what?
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: Betty's grammatical writing always throws me off for some reason.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: She goes, Beautiful morning, good everyone.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's only four words, but for whatever reason, it's the pattern of the way it lays out.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: I'm not used to speaking the way she does.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: Right, because whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 0:29SPEAKER_02: You want to cough that out?
- 0:31SPEAKER_02: I was just choking on some coffee and I didn't I didn't realize it actually like affected my voice.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: Anyway, um, yeah, because you usually start off with good everyone.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: And then beautiful people.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, what a beautiful Maybe I'm not used to seeing beautiful or seeing beautiful around my name.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: That could be what it was.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: Uh then Gavin was testing the the text messaging.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: Did you see this?
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: No.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: Test.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Gavin.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: It worked.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Hey, today is a great day for you.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: And I'm gonna I wanna mention this.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: There are different levels of this.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Today is International Nagging Day.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: And here's the thing about this.
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: Oh, you think I nag?
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: I think well, yes, but you do it different.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Oh, do I?
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: So here's the thing.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: So it's I'm gonna I'm gonna pay a compliment right up front here.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Tiffany is not a nager.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: She will abuse me with put downs in a beautiful way.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: You know.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: It's a theme in your life.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: It's subtle, but you know, also I know it's not it's not nasty.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: Like I think she's, you know, in her very dry way, uh-huh, you know, uh teasing me.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: But it's not nagging, uh, per se, right?
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: I'm probably the nager in the house.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: In fact, I probably drive her BS crazy because she likes to do things at her own pace.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: I struggle with her pace.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: Let's say So roles are um well, in typical households, you would say roles would be reversed in yours.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: I would.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: And I'll give you the example.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: She always comes through on birthdays for like the kids, you know, like with what we're planning.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: The problem is it's always three days before the birthday, and I'm in full panic mode.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: I can do it.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: She'll tell me afterwards.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: I've had that ordered for six weeks, and I'm like, oh my god.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: You have to over-communicate with Scott.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: So, yep, yep.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: So what happens?
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: Oh, I parted, let me tell Scott.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: So what happens is broke a toe, tell Scott.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: I have begun the nagging process and I drive her, like I said, I drive her crazy.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: And it's just something I need to get over.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: I may have to schedule a session with uh the therapist.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: But uh I I can't because I'm used to uh look, I used to be very last minute.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: But then for some reason something changed, and I'm like, I gotta get a little bit ahead, and it causes me to do that.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: I think I know what it is.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: Once you got full custody of the kids, then it's this is all me.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: Like there is no so you knew that if anything fell behind, there's no one.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: I mean, yes, you have Tiffany, but like you are the person.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: There's yeah, that's I think that sub subconsciously probably was a big piece of it.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: I feel like that's when the change happened.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: So that that I will say, I freely admit that I'm the jackass with that.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: Now let me go over to Allie.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: Allie handles things a little bit differently.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's nagging, but it's not nagging in the traditional sense.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't like this word.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: It is very snarky and very just, you know, cutesy jabsy.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Do you ever cross that passive aggressive?
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: That's the word.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Uh do you ever cross the line though and go full in?
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know, maybe Zach's just too nagged?
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, maybe Zach's too afraid of you and and just make sure that stuff gets done.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: But uh so uh two things.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: Number one, I I don't consider it nagging because you should have done it the first time.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: And so Oh if that's not justification and it's fine.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: It's not.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: It's just being a team player.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: And then the second I can't deny it.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: And the second thing is, no, I don't, I'm not a full on I don't first of all, I don't have to tell him over and over and over again.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Because he's terrified of you, I don't like it.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: Well, so he said the other day, he goes, I just don't ever want to disappoint you.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's terrification.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, it absolutely is.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: Terrification invented a word.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: But it absolutely is.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: But even the other day And you love it.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 4:23SPEAKER_02: Even the other day, I made dinner.
- 4:25SPEAKER_02: We have a little thing in our household.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: If you make dinner, then the other person cleans up.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: Because we're a team.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: And and so he didn't do the dishes.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: So the next day, he was talking about just, you know, eventually when he moves in, and he was like, Oh, you know, I gotta keep my weight around here.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: And I said, Oh, like when you didn't do the dishes last night.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: No.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: See, that's where it happened.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: See, there it is.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: It's it's not really nagging in the traditional sense, it's just a good jab, you know?
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: And he's like, I knew it, I knew that was gonna come back on me.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: I knew, and oh look at uh yes, go ahead.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: I want to hear your audio text, yeah.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, he's just clothes everywhere.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: He'll wear a shirt for a few hours and then he'll throw it on a dresser or the desk or something, and then he'll have a pile of clothes that he's worn for maybe a couple hours, and then they just sit there in a pile.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: It's like, oh my gosh, dude, just let me wash it and put it away.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: And then eventually I collect a lot of clothes and wash it.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Well, where did that go?
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: Like I leave a lot of people.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: Oh, see.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: I I I'm actually with I'm actually with him on this.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: I have you know, things get sweaty dirty.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: Yes yesterday, we were standing by the smoker at the farmer's market.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: My my clothes smelled like chicken barbecue.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: That is absolutely going in the wash.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: But these pants I'm wearing today, I only wore them for a very brief time.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: So they've been living.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: There's I have this like little vanity thing.
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: They've been like hanging.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: Ah, that's fine.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: That that's not okay.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: It's closed purgatory, is what I like to call it.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Close purgatory.
- 5:50SPEAKER_02: Yes, it's not ready.
- 5:51SPEAKER_02: It's not ready for laundry, and it's about to go back on my bottom.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: I'll give you one other example of Tiffany's not really nagging, just taking a good.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Oh, I love this.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: So uh she's on this new kick now that all clothes must be turned right side right before it goes in the laundry to get the dog hair off.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: Now, it makes total sense.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: And and admittedly, it takes me a ramping in period to be able to absorb the orders you're giving.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: Not gonna lie about that.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: So uh instead of did you well, there's two things.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: Wait, wait, wait.
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: Are you saying you take your pants off and it's like they're inside out?
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: No, please don't.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Um, no, uh, yeah.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: So if they're wrong side, right.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but you take your pants off and it's like you flip them inside out?
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: No, you flip them the right way.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: You know when you take it.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no, no.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: When you're taking your pants off.
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: I'm not talking about before the laundry.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: I'm saying you are end of day taking your pants off.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:46SPEAKER_02: Do you take them off and then all of a sudden the inside is on the outside?
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: No, if that happens, you have to turn it the right way.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: That's yes.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: I never my clothes are rarely flipped.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: Where they're inside out.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: So that being said, okay, uh, what she'll do is it'll start like this.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: It first it starts like this.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: And I don't know, you guys can tell me if this is nagging.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: I don't think it is.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: I think this is just her way to, you know, stick it to me.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: So she'll give me the the the first will be Did you turn all the clothes right side right side out or right side in, inside right, whatever the word is.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: The way we're the right way.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: The way that you would wear them.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: And as I'm in the middle of saying, why yes, I mmm.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: Oh, back to the mm-hmm.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Go back to the podcast.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: You'll catch that one.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: So that'll be the first round of it.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: The next round of it becomes you didn't turn it right side right, did you?
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: I'm like, but I I did.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: Like, she's already in this denial phase of me doing anything right.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: I'm like, go back and yeah, but then do you go back and check?
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm not sure, I'm really not sure.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: I you're damn right I do, because I'm like, I'm not getting this butt kicked.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: I know where my bread is butter.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: You're damn right.
