- 2:53Sunny mornings send you. In local news, city
- 2:58leaders will hold a conversation addressing the
- 3:01impacts of gun violence and seeking solutions
- 3:04this Thursday. State Representative Bud L. Williams
- 3:08will join City Councilor Justin Hurst and community
- 3:12advocate Charles Stokes, along with residents,
- 3:15clergy, community organizations, neighborhood
- 3:18leaders, youth and their families, to discuss
- 3:21this pressing issue. Williams emphasized, This
- 3:25listening session is an opportunity to come together,
- 3:28speak honestly about what we are experiencing,
- 3:31and work collectively toward solutions that protect
- 3:34our families and strengthen our neighborhoods.
- 3:38The event will begin at 6 o 'clock in the evening
- 3:40at the Bay Area Neighborhood Council Center located
- 3:43at 437 Bay Street. Now on to sports. Three big
- 3:54questions arise after the shocking sale of the
- 3:57Los Angeles Lakers. Is the dodgerfication of
- 4:00the team on hold? And what does this mean for
- 4:03a potential Las Vegas franchise? The Bus family's
- 4:07stewardship of the Lakers spanned 11 championships,
- 4:10while Mark Walter's tenure lasted less than a
- 4:12year. Walter will sell his shares to Bob Iger
- 4:16and Josh Kushner at a valuation of $12 .5 billion.
- 4:21This sale raises questions about Laker operations,
- 4:25NBA expansion, and the legacy of the Buss family.
- 4:29With so much uncertainty, the future of the Lakers
- 4:32remains unclear. In local sports, the Red Sox
- 4:37are staring down a sweep in Toronto. Boston fell
- 4:416 -4 last night, extending its skid to five straight,
- 4:45and the Blue Jays lead the series three games
- 4:48to none. Ranger Suarez was sharp, but the bullpen
- 4:52couldn't hold it. New catcher Adley Rutchman,
- 4:56acquired from Baltimore at the deadline, is still
- 4:59hunting his first win in a Red Sox uniform. Boston
- 5:03tries to avoid the sweep this afternoon at 3
- 5:06.07, sending Payton Tall to the mound against
- 5:09Max Scherzer, with the wild card picture hanging
- 5:13in the balance at 64 and 56. Meanwhile, Peyton
- 5:18Pritchard isn't rushing a Celtics extension,
- 5:21even with a three -year, $67 million deal on
- 5:25the table October 1st. He's focused on the new
- 5:29Legroster after Jalen Brown's trade to Philadelphia
- 5:32for Paul George. On the gridiron, the Patriots
- 5:37open preseason tonight against the Colts, but
- 5:39Drake May won't play. Cornerback Christian Gonzalez
- 5:44is fanged up and out. with Charles Woods also
- 5:47sidelined. New England added running back Hassan
- 5:51Haskins this week to shore up depth behind the
- 5:54top of the chart. In top news, White House press
- 6:00secretary Caroline Leavitt, the youngest person
- 6:03to hold the role, will leave the Trump administration
- 6:06at the end of the month to spend more time with
- 6:08her young family. Leavitt, age 28, called it
- 6:12a bittersweet decision in a social media post
- 6:15after President Donald Trump announced her departure.
- 6:20She recently returned to the White House podium
- 6:22after the birth of her second child, a daughter
- 6:25named Viviana, in May. Leavitt expressed that
- 6:29she cannot be the best mom her two young children
- 6:31deserve while fulfilling the demands of the role.
- 6:35Trump respected her decision and indicated she
- 6:38will remain a top -outside adviser within the
- 6:40Republican Party. In business news, survivors
- 6:46have emerged in China's fiercely competitive
- 6:49car market, which is increasingly dominated by
- 6:52electric -powered vehicles. Healy ranks first,
- 6:56with its Ximuan electric hatchback being the
- 6:58bestseller, selling nearly 197 ,500 units. The
- 7:05price is just under 100 ,000 won. Tesla's Model
- 7:10E ranked second, with more than 180 ,000 sold,
- 7:15priced between 263 ,000 won and 313 ,000 won.
- 7:22New energy vehicles accounted for 65 .1 % of
- 7:26new passenger cars sold in July, showing a significant
- 7:29increase from 54 % last year. In crypto movement,
- 7:36Bitcoin is unchanged at about $64 ,000. Ethereum
- 7:41is unchanged at just under $1 ,900. And XRP is

- 8:34Morning sent you by. And now, back to the show.
- 8:40Let's talk tech. Some cloud users are upset that
- 8:44Anthrophic's new watermarks will identify AI
- 8:47-generated content in their work. Anthrophic
- 8:51recently decided to watermark outputs by inserting
- 8:54invisible code into the chatbot's text. This
- 8:58policy addresses the European Union Artificial
- 9:00Intelligence Act's transparency code, which mandates
- 9:04labeling AI -generated content. While regulators
- 9:08may be satisfied, many users express frustration.
- 9:12One Reddit user claimed the watermarking system
- 9:15is a draconian conspiracy against innocent users.
- 9:20However, other users countered that the watermarks
- 9:22are necessary for accountability. and to mitigate
- 9:25risks associated with AI -generated content.
- 9:30In general, support for watermarking appears
- 9:32to outweigh criticism. And in entertainment news,
- 9:39while giving his all to his portrayal of Mark
- 9:42Zuckerberg in The Social Reckoning, Jeremy Strawn
- 9:45reached out to the Metachief Executive Officer
- 9:48and Facebook co -founder. The Oscar nominee recently
- 9:52revealed that he mailed Zuckerberg to assure
- 9:54him he takes the responsibility very seriously.
- 9:59Strong noted that the tech mogul responded, but
- 10:02would not reveal the details of Zuckerberg's
- 10:04email. It feels incredibly fraught to talk about
- 10:08the movie, added Strong. I feel an enormous sense
- 10:11of weight and responsibility. The film premieres
- 10:15on October 9th. focusing on a 2021 document leak
- 10:19that exposed harm Facebook caused on society.
- 10:24Well, alrighty, folks. It's time for the quote
- 10:27of the day. And today, our quote comes from the
- 10:31American civil rights leader and minister, Martin
- 10:34Luther King Jr. And he said, injustice anywhere
- 10:39is a threat to justice everywhere. reminding
- 10:42us that freedom and unity are essential in overcoming
- 10:46societal divides. And that's a wrap for this
- 10:51morning. You can check out our Instagram, YouTube,
