- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast. We're here today to
- 0:08Speaker 2: break down a big announcement in Bachelor Nation. The Golden
- 0:11Speaker 2: Bachelor cast has been revealed. I have an incredible co
- 0:16Speaker 2: host with me today, specifically chosen not only because of
- 0:20Speaker 2: her talents and her wonder and awe, but also because
- 0:23Speaker 2: of her experience on The Golden Bachelor. Susan Knowles is
- 0:27Speaker 2: co hosting with me today.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Hello Susan, Hello dal how are you hey? Everybody? Thanks
- 0:32Speaker 3: for listening. I'm so excited to chat about this.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Susan, are not going to be easy on you, because
- 0:38Speaker 2: here's I thought about prepping for this. Here's what I want. Okay,
- 0:44Speaker 2: if you listen to the Almost Famous podcast for any
- 0:46Speaker 2: period of time, you would know that I am a
- 0:52Speaker 2: massive fan of the Golden series. Like a massive fan.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I think it is the best decision The Bachelor has
- 0:59Speaker 2: made in years. I was a massive fan of your season,
- 1:04Speaker 2: of the women that came off of your season, then
- 1:07Speaker 2: entering into Jones season and meeting some of the guys
- 1:10Speaker 2: from that season. I just think it's such a heart warming, genuine,
- 1:17Speaker 2: authentic experience to try to find love and then also
- 1:21Speaker 2: teach us as I guess we're calling us young'ins, teach
- 1:26Speaker 2: us so many things.
- 1:27Speaker 3: I agree. I agree, and we are real at this age.
- 1:31Speaker 3: You know, we don't have to try to be somebody.
- 1:35Speaker 3: That's the best part of the Goldens.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I think, well, we're gonna have to convince some people
- 1:39Speaker 2: to watch this season. I think because of who they
- 1:42Speaker 2: chose as their bachelor, mel Owens was chosen as the
- 1:46Speaker 2: Golden Bachelor. I have a theory, Susan, that if I
- 1:51Speaker 2: was in charge of the Bachelor franchise, I would have
- 1:54Speaker 2: gone away from the attractive Golden back to maybe gone
- 2:01Speaker 2: as far as like, Hey, I'm finding my eighty year
- 2:04Speaker 2: old dude who is just wanting love so bad and
- 2:07Speaker 2: is wearing eighty come on, seventy five, seventy he's wearing overalls,
- 2:14Speaker 2: he's wearing suspenders. This guy's meeting at McDonald's in the
- 2:17Speaker 2: morning for breakfast with his friends.
- 2:20Speaker 3: There's another show out there. I think it's some country
- 2:22Speaker 3: one in the woods or something.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I just would have I don't want the Golden to
- 2:29Speaker 2: turn into what the Bachelor ended up doing, which is
- 2:31Speaker 2: where everybody would go on to become influencers, and everybody
- 2:34Speaker 2: was just so attractive that they weren't relatable. And Mel
- 2:42Speaker 2: obviously came out publicly. He was scrutinized for I haven't
- 2:45Speaker 2: met him. I'm not going to. I don't. I'm not
- 2:47Speaker 2: holding any judgment towards him as a person until we
- 2:50Speaker 2: get to talk to him. But he is a very
- 2:53Speaker 2: attractive man who said publicly, so I can only take
- 2:56Speaker 2: his words that he was going to date younger women.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Sometimes regret things we say. I've been trust me one
- 3:04Speaker 3: hundred times in my life at least that I've said
- 3:06Speaker 3: things and that's not how I meant it. And I'm
- 3:10Speaker 3: really hoping I have met Mel. And one of the
- 3:14Speaker 3: things I said to him when I said welcome to
- 3:17Speaker 3: the family and he said thank you, thank you. When
- 3:19Speaker 3: he looked really good and he had his shades on,
- 3:21Speaker 3: and I said, would you like? He said, do you
- 3:24Speaker 3: have any advice for me? I said, I do. First things. First,
- 3:27Speaker 3: take the shades off. I'm going to look in your eyes.
- 3:31Speaker 3: It was a whole different feeling for me, and what
- 3:34Speaker 3: I said was be true to yourself, don't get caught
- 3:37Speaker 3: up in the show or what some producers are trying
- 3:40Speaker 3: to tell you like this one, you don't really stay
- 3:43Speaker 3: true to yourself because this can work, but you have
- 3:47Speaker 3: to be real.
- 3:49Speaker 2: So am I getting on board with this season? You
- 3:52Speaker 2: are a wise counsel, a trusted counsel. You have met
- 3:57Speaker 2: this guy, I don't know anything about him. We're going
- 4:00Speaker 2: to break down the cast members today here in just
- 4:02Speaker 2: a second, we're going to fly through the list of
- 4:04Speaker 2: incredible cast members that he has joining him on his experience.
- 4:09Speaker 2: But Susan for the listeners and for me, who's now
- 4:12Speaker 2: a skeptic of the thing that I was most supportive of.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Am I getting as a friend? Would you tell me
- 4:18Speaker 2: let's get behind this season.
- 4:20Speaker 3: You have to, you absolutely have to. You have to
- 4:23Speaker 3: give him room to redeem himself. If you will, I'm
- 4:27Speaker 3: almost certain he'll apologize and he'll share why he said
- 4:31Speaker 3: what he said. Hopefully he was kidding. I mean, we
- 4:35Speaker 3: all know that it's a known fact in the world
- 4:38Speaker 3: that older men like younger women. I mean, that's just
- 4:42Speaker 3: something that's written. Look at me, I'm an older woman
- 4:45Speaker 3: with a younger man. So both ways we can all
- 4:50Speaker 3: do it. But let's give him some grace and let's see.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I wish him a lot of luck because I looked
- 4:56Speaker 3: at these women who to me, because we we were
- 5:00Speaker 3: the first, I think we were a group that was
- 5:04Speaker 3: so different, h and every one of us, you know
- 5:08Speaker 3: what I mean. Now that people actually saw the show,
- 5:11Speaker 3: and those that are going to be on the next one,
- 5:14Speaker 3: on mel season, I hope they're there for all the
- 5:17Speaker 3: right reasons too, because once the show is out, then
- 5:20Speaker 3: you catch on, you know what I mean, who's doing
- 5:22Speaker 3: this now and not now? And go for the right reasons.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Let's see what you think of the cast members today.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Again we just mentioned Jesse Palmer will be the host.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Mel Owens is your Golden Bachelor. We have Susan with
- 5:35Speaker 2: us today, one of the cast members from the previous
- 5:37Speaker 2: season who has continued to light up our lives in
- 5:40Speaker 2: the best of ways. We're going to start with this Susan.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I'm going to read their name and where they're from. Okay,
- 5:47Speaker 2: you give any other thoughts, kind of give the color
- 5:51Speaker 2: commentary if that works.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Okay, Okay.
- 5:54Speaker 2: We got Alexandra from Miami, Florida. She's sixty seven. I
- 6:00Speaker 2: will give the age as well, because I guess that's
- 6:02Speaker 2: important here.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Yeah, and she's sexy and she loves Bob Marley. I
- 6:05Speaker 3: think she's going to be a fire. That one.
- 6:09Speaker 2: We got Amy. You can go on ABC dot com
- 6:14Speaker 2: to follow along with the pictures and kind of the bios.
- 6:17Speaker 2: We got Amy from Shorthills, New Jersey. She is sixty
- 6:21Speaker 2: three years old.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Amy reminds me, from what I've read of me, a
- 6:25Speaker 3: little bit like I love when she says she has
- 6:28Speaker 3: a built in bullshit detector. She's bold and bubbly, and
- 6:34Speaker 3: she used one of my lines, I feel like a
- 6:37Speaker 3: kid in a candy store. So I think I'm gonna
- 6:40Speaker 3: like Amy, And.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I feel like at this age you do have like
- 6:44Speaker 2: that's just a skill set you have, it's built in
- 6:46Speaker 2: who we are. You've seen too much, You've done too much.
- 6:50Speaker 2: The next one is somebody I'm confused by. She should
- 6:53Speaker 2: not be human. She is not from this world. There's
- 6:57Speaker 2: zero chance this person actually exists. We got Andra from
- 7:02Speaker 2: Los Angeles, California. She's seventy seven years old. And if
- 7:05Speaker 2: I saw on the street, I would say, you're forty
- 7:08Speaker 2: maybe No way?
- 7:11Speaker 3: Does she look seventy not even seventy seven? And isn't
- 7:14Speaker 3: she related to someone?
- 7:17Speaker 2: Is that true? Who?
- 7:19Speaker 3: She's a twin? Actually?
- 7:21Speaker 2: Oh?
- 7:22Speaker 3: Someone that was on our show. I believe if I'm
- 7:25Speaker 3: not mistaken, it's Sandra's sister.
- 7:28Speaker 2: No way, way that is true.
- 7:32Speaker 3: And look at Sandra. She don't look like she's seventy
- 7:35Speaker 3: five or seventies.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Who are their parents? Goodness, gracious, you're right. I'm looking
- 7:40Speaker 2: at that now. She's one to look out for. She's
- 7:43Speaker 2: going to rock his world if he ever thought he
- 7:46Speaker 2: was going to date younger, because that's what's better.
- 7:49Speaker 3: No, she's got her together.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Yeah. Next we have Carla from Los Angeles, California. She
- 7:56Speaker 2: is sixty two years old.
- 7:58Speaker 3: She likes Safari. She's going to be a lot. Why
- 8:00Speaker 3: are right?
- 8:01Speaker 2: I think so? I mean she I think from the
- 8:04Speaker 2: video that we watched too of these women, they just
- 8:08Speaker 2: seem confident. And I do think the note there is
- 8:11Speaker 2: that you open up the door. You're the season that
- 8:14Speaker 2: you were on, open up the door for these women
- 8:16Speaker 2: to walk into it without kind of the hesitation of
- 8:18Speaker 2: what is this thing? They know what they're getting into?
- 8:20Speaker 3: Yes, yes, And you know what I loved how they
- 8:24Speaker 3: showed them in all colors. It was bright, it was cheery.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Everybody had their own color. When we were all you know,
- 8:31Speaker 3: very formal, very dark, we all had black and sophisticated,
- 8:35Speaker 3: and that our true personalities came out. But this is
- 8:38Speaker 3: showing personality right off the gain.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I also want to comment on the video that we watched.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I'm just amazed at these women. They are gorgeous, like
- 8:47Speaker 2: they they are stunning, incredible careers. Really. You know, we'll
- 8:55Speaker 2: keep adding some notes that we saw through the video,
- 8:57Speaker 2: and I want to hear your thoughts and opinions too,
- 9:00Speaker 2: But just an incredible cast of people and I'm really
- 9:03Speaker 2: I am excited to watch them. Up next to you
- 9:05Speaker 2: have Carol from Villa Park, California. She is sixty three years.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Old and plays a tambourine. Baby.
- 9:13Speaker 2: She's also the family manager for Baseball All Star Freddie Freeman.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Right, and loves bad money.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Goodness, gracious, what are we doing? This is amazing.
- 9:25Speaker 3: No, I can't wait to really know them.
- 9:27Speaker 2: You know, we got Cheryl, sixty six years old from Inglewood, Colorado,
- 9:33Speaker 2: right out here where I'm at. Okay, she is really
- 9:38Speaker 2: fun of fact. Yeah, but she has fifty motocross trophy.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Can you imagine? So you know, I used to own
- 9:46Speaker 3: a motorcycle when I was fifty. Yeah, I was out
- 9:50Speaker 3: in Spain, rant at something and came back and got
- 9:53Speaker 3: my license with that. That's I admire that. I can't
- 9:55Speaker 3: wait to get to know her as well.
- 9:57Speaker 2: I hope they have some like video footage I want.
- 9:59Speaker 3: To see here or one of their dates.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, just running off and see if he really can't
- 10:05Speaker 2: keep up with somebody sixty six years old, he might
- 10:08Speaker 2: be a little scared. Next, we got Cindy from Austin, Texas.
- 10:11Speaker 2: She is sixty years old.
- 10:14Speaker 3: She dated Chuck Norris. She went on a date with
- 10:18Speaker 3: Chuck Norris. I love this and wait, so a couple
- 10:22Speaker 3: of them are from Texas. We got a lot of
- 10:23Speaker 3: Textans here.
- 10:24Speaker 2: We do have a lot of Texans. Yeah, and so far,
- 10:27Speaker 2: Cindy is sixty years old. Is our youngest that we've mentioned.
- 10:30Speaker 2: There's obviously somebody a little younger, but about the age range.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Her grandfather lived to be one hundred and five years old.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Know, God, can I just say to me going on
- 10:42Speaker 3: my show? When I was on, I thought, being golden
- 10:47Speaker 3: if you will, everybody had to be sixty five.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 3: That threw me when I looked and saw Joan and
- 10:54Speaker 3: this one and that one has to wait a minute.
- 10:56Speaker 3: You have to have social security before you can.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Be cold I think it's a very I think it's
- 11:02Speaker 2: a fair statement.
- 11:03Speaker 3: It is now I'm looking at sixty Cindy.
- 11:07Speaker 2: But we do have a sixty five year old in Debbie.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Debbie is from Denver, Colorado. She is from where I'm at.
- 11:15Speaker 2: I'm really loving about these fun facts because we're seeing
- 11:20Speaker 2: you know, obviously when you're sixty five years old, you've
- 11:22Speaker 2: had a lot of fun facts, but also some of
- 11:25Speaker 2: the celebrities they may have dated.
- 11:27Speaker 3: The Robert Denaro, thank you very much. But she's got
- 11:31Speaker 3: a fear of heights, so I hope she don't have
- 11:33Speaker 3: to jump off of the bungee jump or anything, or
- 11:36Speaker 3: climb the wall like Leslie climbed down the Oh yeah.
- 11:40Speaker 2: You don't tell the show what you're scared of. I
- 11:42Speaker 2: don't do it. Keep it to yourself. If you're scared,
- 11:45Speaker 2: put that last say the things that you're not scared of,
- 11:48Speaker 2: because you know she's going to be freaking out.
- 11:51Speaker 3: How about her smile in her eyes? She's really pretty.
- 11:54Speaker 3: For some reason, I have a thing like maybe she'll
- 11:57Speaker 3: go far.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Yeah, just a guess to guess a lot of confidence
- 12:01Speaker 2: in it.
- 12:01Speaker 3: At least get a date. I don't know.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Diane is up next from Wasscilla, Alaska. I have no
- 12:17Speaker 2: clue where that's at. She's seventy one.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Years old and she wants to be Dolly Parton. I
- 12:22Speaker 3: love it the things you write down.
- 12:26Speaker 2: In this life. She's done three.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Triathle triathlongs how about it? And these people are in shape.
- 12:33Speaker 3: He's an ex football player, so you know these girls
- 12:36Speaker 3: are standing up for themselves. There's another one coming.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Way do we get to her? We have Jerry from Rockville, Maryland.
- 12:44Speaker 2: She's sixty four years old.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Yes, in healthcare business and loves to fish. Not one
- 12:51Speaker 3: of my favorite things.
- 12:53Speaker 2: She's a CEO. She does not tolerate bad breath and
- 12:56Speaker 2: breath who does je? I just don't think it's a
- 12:59Speaker 2: thing like I think anybody's like, you know what, it's cool.
- 13:02Speaker 2: The only problem is on this show it's long days.
- 13:06Speaker 3: You just have one of those mint things for your tongue,
- 13:09Speaker 3: that's all.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Yeah, the strips. We have Lily seventy two years old.
- 13:15Speaker 3: She does not look seventy two saying seriously. And she
- 13:21Speaker 3: hates bad drivers. I love that, don't we all? And
- 13:25Speaker 3: she likes tennis.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Yeah, she plays for the USTA tennis team.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Yeah. Another one in shape at seventy.
- 13:33Speaker 2: I'm just what we're saying.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Blows my mind. It just blows my mind.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Lisa sixty six years old. She is from Marion, Ohio.
- 13:42Speaker 3: I can't That girl is the cutest thing I've ever seen,
- 13:45Speaker 3: the way she talks, and she's a swiftie. I mean,
- 13:49Speaker 3: she loves She's just adorable to me. I hope she
- 13:52Speaker 3: gets on there. I hope he picks her for something,
- 13:55Speaker 3: just because I think she's too cute for words.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Was a trender seeing so far are I feel like
- 14:02Speaker 2: she's one of the only well, yeah, she's one of
- 14:04Speaker 2: the only blondes that have come up on our list.
- 14:08Speaker 2: We have one.
- 14:09Speaker 3: There's more, there's more, But do you?
- 14:12Speaker 2: I mean it's always a good teller because I remember
- 14:14Speaker 2: when I was a bachelor, they do give you a
- 14:17Speaker 2: list of what are you physically attracted?
- 14:19Speaker 3: What do you like? Yeah?
- 14:20Speaker 2: Yeah, And I don't know if they actually care to
- 14:24Speaker 2: find that or not if it says anything.
- 14:26Speaker 3: But well, did you say Brunette?
- 14:30Speaker 2: I forget, honestly, I forget. It's been so long, but
- 14:34Speaker 2: I married a brunette, so I guess that would have
- 14:36Speaker 2: been let's just say yes, I said to Brunette a
- 14:41Speaker 2: five foot one inch brunette was what I.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Was like, perfect brunette for you.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Maya's up next from Malibu, California. She is fifty
- 14:49Speaker 2: eight years old. She is the youngest so far.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Yes, yes, wait a pro shopper, like, do you know what,
- 14:58Speaker 3: my kid, I got to meet this girl because that
- 15:03Speaker 3: is one of my passwords, pro shopper one.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Well this, I mean this, like, think about the date
- 15:12Speaker 2: that she could go on where he takes her to,
- 15:15Speaker 2: like the mall which you've seen recently, may have like
- 15:17Speaker 2: a shopping spree.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Maybe she could dress him too.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Dreams do come true.
- 15:24Speaker 3: That's it.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Monica Bee from Huntsville, Alabama. She is sixty two years old.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Yes, and she loves Martha's Vineyard, which is a really
- 15:32Speaker 3: cool place, and feeding the ducks with her grandkids. Like
- 15:36Speaker 3: she seems like a nice family oriented, good mo mom.
- 15:43Speaker 2: We haven't seen I mean, Susan, I'm kind of running
- 15:46Speaker 2: through these quickly, but we haven't seen grandkids mentioned.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Not too many of them say it, but I know
- 15:53Speaker 3: she does.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Yeah, she says it, which says a lot about her
- 15:57Speaker 2: and kind of where she's at in life. Yes, during
- 16:00Speaker 2: your time on the show, grandkids were a very common topic.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Yes, most of us had them.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Yeah, most of you were missing or talking about or
- 16:10Speaker 2: sharing about so. And I think that's a wonderful thing.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Monica pe is next. She's from Birmingham, Alabama. She is
- 16:19Speaker 2: sixty years old.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Skateboarding that I love, but like that's awesome that you
- 16:26Speaker 3: can skateboard or snowboard. That's not my thing. And she
- 16:31Speaker 3: also likes to crochet. That's like the total opposite to me.
- 16:35Speaker 3: That must be on her downtime.
- 16:37Speaker 2: It's a renaissance woman. She you can do it all.
- 16:39Speaker 2: She can do everything.
- 16:40Speaker 3: And loves big hair. Well she should be from Texas
- 16:44Speaker 3: because when I did hair back in the day in Texas,
- 16:47Speaker 3: everybody I made a fortune. Does everybody wanted big blonde.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Hair, big blonde hair. Absolute gorgeous person that I'm announcing.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Next Myleen, who is a casino VIP host Las Vegas
- 17:00Speaker 2: de Bada. She's sixty one years old. Her picture, I
- 17:04Speaker 2: mean it looks like they put like a faint.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Stunning, stunning, stunning, stunning. I mean you gotta notice her.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, am I wrong? In this picture that
- 17:15Speaker 2: we're seeing on the website. She's the only one that
- 17:17Speaker 2: looks like her hair is getting wind blown.
- 17:19Speaker 3: I know, I know, it's like perfect great hood shock.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Nicole from Miami Beach, Florida, sixty four years old.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Oh yes, a yoga girl, right, she's going to be flexible,
- 17:32Speaker 3: she's gonna be she's anything like me in the morning
- 17:35Speaker 3: to shock the girls. What I used to do early
- 17:37Speaker 3: in the morning.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Is that what you do?
- 17:41Speaker 3: No, no, no. I used to like get a rise
- 17:44Speaker 3: out of the more quiet women. And they'd have coffee
- 17:48Speaker 3: in their hands out by the pool, six thirty in
- 17:50Speaker 3: the morning, and I would come out in my little
- 17:52Speaker 3: robe and I'd take it off and I skinny dip
- 17:55Speaker 3: every morning. Oh my gosh, you have to see them, Susan,
- 17:58Speaker 3: weren't you get Why are you crazy? There's cameras everywhere.
- 18:01Speaker 3: I said, there's no crew here to film. We're good
- 18:04Speaker 3: just to get a rise out of them.
- 18:07Speaker 2: This is a story I've never heard.
- 18:08Speaker 3: This is yeah, it was printed. Trust me.
- 18:12Speaker 2: It's a beautiful It's a beautiful way to wake up,
- 18:16Speaker 2: especially with that chili pool. I mean it's like a
- 18:18Speaker 2: cold dip in the morning. Wake here.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Youre fig perfect.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Yes. Well. Nicole went to culinary school. She's been a
- 18:25Speaker 2: vegan for nineteen years. She can do handstands in the splits,
- 18:29Speaker 2: so that will be a wild way. What you got, maw,
- 18:36Speaker 2: I'm next? You got Peg sixty two years old from
- 18:38Speaker 2: Las Vegas, Nevada.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Can't we talk about Peg? First of all, she's got
- 18:43Speaker 3: the thickest hair I've ever seen on a woman. And
- 18:45Speaker 3: I noticed those things firefighter wait doing bombs for the
- 18:50Speaker 3: last few years. Like, this girl's going to be a
- 18:52Speaker 3: tough cookie. Nothing's going to get by her. I think
- 18:57Speaker 3: she's going to be real to the raw of sense.
- 19:02Speaker 3: I don't know if that'll hurt her or help her,
- 19:05Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying, Like sometimes, yeah, yeah.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I have this image in my head though, host Susan
- 19:11Speaker 2: I have to share it of her now or twenty
- 19:16Speaker 2: years ago being a firefighter. She goes and saves the
- 19:19Speaker 2: building and it's like almost like a TV show where
- 19:23Speaker 2: she takes off her helmet and she flips that big
- 19:25Speaker 2: old hair like it stop like jaws on the floor,
- 19:30Speaker 2: Like who is this human?
- 19:31Speaker 3: She's hot, she's hot, but she's not going to take
- 19:34Speaker 3: any no, not that one.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I kind of we need that.
- 19:38Speaker 3: I look forward to it. Yes.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Robin's sixty three years old from Napa California.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Yes, a wealth advisor and has her own vineyards. Now
- 19:50Speaker 3: I could be your friend. Yeah, a wealth advisor. Like really, that's.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Big, it's a big deal. It's it's very different. There
- 19:59Speaker 2: is one thing I think that does stand out for
- 20:03Speaker 2: this season. These women have like all very specific careers, careers,
- 20:11Speaker 2: and I'm assuming most of them are either stepping out
- 20:14Speaker 2: of those careers and retired or just taking a break
- 20:18Speaker 2: to come on the show. But I do think we
- 20:20Speaker 2: see a vast array of careers here, everything from advisors
- 20:26Speaker 2: to fire fighters to dnnists. I mean, come on, a vineyard.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Do you have your own vineyard? Come on?
- 20:33Speaker 2: I think it's going to add to the cast conversation
- 20:37Speaker 2: when we're hearing how they come into each situation.
- 20:40Speaker 3: I want to know, is mellow wine lover.
- 20:43Speaker 2: I don't know many people that aren't true.
- 20:45Speaker 3: This is the true. Yeah.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Roxanne from Austin, Texas. She's sixty three years old.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Sixty three. I thought she was only sixty two.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Well, either sixty two. The website says sixty three. My
- 20:58Speaker 2: notes here say sixty two, So let's say sixty two
- 21:01Speaker 2: and a half.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Okay, whatever. I just when I look at her, she's
- 21:05Speaker 3: going to be a hopeless romantic. I think she's going
- 21:08Speaker 3: to fall for him. I mean these are guestimates, of course,
- 21:12Speaker 3: but as I read their profile, look at their pictures,
- 21:15Speaker 3: and just the way she looks in her picture, she's
- 21:17Speaker 3: going to fall in love. Well.
- 21:19Speaker 2: And she has an interesting note here where she said
- 21:21Speaker 2: she sold everything and moved to Costa Rica without knowing anyone.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Is that crazy?
- 21:26Speaker 2: I mean it's crazy. She also has entered into a
- 21:28Speaker 2: poll dancing competition. She's fiery.
- 21:33Speaker 3: You gotta love it.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I'm next. Susie sixty two years old from del Mar, California.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Yes, a real or a real estate person right.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Yep, yeah, realtor and also graduated from college at thirty
- 21:48Speaker 2: years old as a mom as.
- 21:51Speaker 3: A mom, well somebody else Andre she got her master's
- 21:57Speaker 3: degree at sixty one years old.
- 22:01Speaker 2: That's the stories I love too.
- 22:02Speaker 3: I mean that's impressive.
- 22:04Speaker 2: When I was getting my undergraduate I remember I had
- 22:07Speaker 2: two classes with somebody that was probably in their sixties,
- 22:10Speaker 2: and I remember back then just being like kind of surprised,
- 22:13Speaker 2: but also looking back now as I'm out of school, like,
- 22:18Speaker 2: how cool is it that somebody said, you know what, No,
- 22:21Speaker 2: I'm going to go get myself an education and start
- 22:25Speaker 2: my career in my sixties. I think it's awesome. It's
- 22:28Speaker 2: absolutely incredible. Terry is seventy one years old from Houston, Texas.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Another one from Texas, a cosmetic dentist. Yes, my implant.
- 22:37Speaker 3: She could have saved me money probably, But and she's
- 22:42Speaker 3: very interesting as well, like Ege and every one of
- 22:46Speaker 3: these women have their own thing. And as you said,
- 22:51Speaker 3: they all talk about being a grandparent. But they're very
- 22:55Speaker 3: positive in what they think about life and who they are,
- 23:01Speaker 3: where they come from. Do you know what I mean?
- 23:03Speaker 3: They're not like melting into the background. No, he's got
- 23:09Speaker 3: to run for his money.
- 23:10Speaker 2: She's also she trained herself to be a ventriloquist at
- 23:14Speaker 2: nine years old. Have you ever tried that?
- 23:18Speaker 3: No, you should wait. I talk to my big I
- 23:24Speaker 3: would be the worst person to do it.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Tracy's sixty two years old from Lafayette, Louisiana.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Tracy, Oh, she's an interior designer, a real Southern bell.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Did you see that picture.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Yeah, she's known for her big hats, and she's wearing
- 23:51Speaker 2: a hat in this picture.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Yes, I love it.
- 23:55Speaker 2: She is an interior designer. She enjoys again offshore.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Fishing, these women are fishing.
- 24:03Speaker 2: It's you know what. So that's the cast, Susan, here's
- 24:07Speaker 2: the interesting part of everything.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I'm just looking at all their pictures like.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I did too, I was like, this is ridiculous. The
- 24:15Speaker 2: video is absolutely incredible. But what are your overall thoughts
- 24:19Speaker 2: on the cast at Like, as a whole.
- 24:21Speaker 3: This is going to be interesting in what way? Because
- 24:26Speaker 3: I don't think there's anyone that's really humble. I think
- 24:30Speaker 3: they're all big personalities and like I said before, true
- 24:35Speaker 3: to themselves, and they're going to step it up a
- 24:38Speaker 3: little bit.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I think they're gonna step it up. And I think
- 24:41Speaker 2: what I loved about your season was the confidence that
- 24:44Speaker 2: each woman brought into the house. It isn't this, oh
- 24:49Speaker 2: my gosh, I'm never going to find love one day
- 24:51Speaker 2: for a lot of you. It was this is a
- 24:53Speaker 2: second chance at love, and it is. I have my
- 24:57Speaker 2: own things going. I don't need this show. I don't
- 25:01Speaker 2: need what the show is going to give me. But
- 25:03Speaker 2: it's a cool opportunity and it's cool to mix things up.
- 25:05Speaker 2: So I think the confidence is going to be there.
- 25:07Speaker 3: I'm hoping that when we left our show, my best
- 25:10Speaker 3: message of all was letting people know that life is
- 25:14Speaker 3: so full of possibilities. Over sixty doesn't mean you're dead.
- 25:18Speaker 3: It's the best chapter. It might be the last chapter.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Hopefully it's a long one, but it's the best one
- 25:24Speaker 3: because we don't care anymore. We've experienced so much. And
- 25:30Speaker 3: then after watching us, now the next group coming in,
- 25:34Speaker 3: I think they're going to be even bolder and wilder
- 25:37Speaker 3: if you will. Yeah, you know they're not going to
- 25:39Speaker 3: be afraid.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to see who this skinny dipper is
- 25:43Speaker 2: this season in the mornings. That's pretty bold, Susan. We
- 25:48Speaker 2: always do this yere at the almost famous podcast before
- 25:50Speaker 2: season starts. Can you give me your top three that
- 25:53Speaker 2: you think will be there at the very end?
- 25:56Speaker 3: Who? I think? Debbie Okay, I think maybe Terry. I
- 26:02Speaker 3: think it's a lot of Texas people. Robin Robin just
- 26:10Speaker 3: what she does, she's very interesting. I think she might
- 26:14Speaker 3: be one of the finals. I love peg But and Lisa,
- 26:20Speaker 3: I love them, but I don't know.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I'm with you. I think for me,
- 26:26Speaker 2: I'm gonna be watching Nicole because she can do handstands
- 26:32Speaker 2: and I think that's gonna be too.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Or Miami girl.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I think Myleene will be interesting, and I'm gonna put
- 26:40Speaker 2: Debbie in there, So Debbie, Myleen. What about Lily Pacific Palisades,
- 26:46Speaker 2: retired elementary school teacher.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Dancing queen.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, here's the truth of this, Susan. I
- 26:55Speaker 2: look at this and I look at people like Diane
- 26:57Speaker 2: from Alaska like I need to see their personalities because
- 27:01Speaker 2: I think there's gonna be like I have a feeling
- 27:04Speaker 2: mel even if he meant what he said in his interview,
- 27:08Speaker 2: and maybe this is the thing that most fans should
- 27:11Speaker 2: go into the season interested in. I think he's going
- 27:14Speaker 2: to be humbled that his thought and opinions were wrong
- 27:18Speaker 2: because I think these women are going to give him
- 27:19Speaker 2: a run for his money and show him something that
- 27:22Speaker 2: he never thought.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Yes, I also wonder about the drama. Do you think
- 27:29Speaker 3: they'll be drama? I think some of them women are
- 27:33Speaker 3: going to be outspoken, like like my peg, like being
- 27:36Speaker 3: that firefighter's she doesn't know how to soften the blow.
- 27:40Speaker 3: I'm just wondering, Like I remember Kathy and Teresa at
- 27:43Speaker 3: the zip it in the whole bit.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Yeah, the drama looks different during the Golden like the
- 27:48Speaker 2: zip it thing in any you know Bachelor Bachelorette season
- 27:52Speaker 2: is nothing. It's it's not even shown. So I do
- 27:56Speaker 2: think there's always going to be drama because it is
- 27:58Speaker 2: going to be a bunch of people in a house
- 28:00Speaker 2: and it just gets a little annoying for everybody, and
- 28:02Speaker 2: there's gonna be a moment where somebody speaks up. But
- 28:08Speaker 2: I don't want the Golden to ever be drama focused.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Oh gosh, that was the best part of our show.
- 28:15Speaker 3: We really didn't have drama. We were genuinely happy. Whoever
- 28:19Speaker 3: got the date, we were thrilled for them. I mean
- 28:23Speaker 3: a couple of them were a little wishy washy in
- 28:25Speaker 3: the end because they all were, a few of them
- 28:27Speaker 3: falling in love. I remember the night before we went
- 28:30Speaker 3: to the peer and a couple of women in my
- 28:35Speaker 3: room and I was like, are you really in love?
- 28:37Speaker 3: And they're crying, Like what am I going to do?
- 28:39Speaker 2: West?
- 28:40Speaker 3: Did I watch the show? You gotta tell them, you
- 28:42Speaker 3: gotta tell them who's going to be like the mommy
- 28:47Speaker 3: in the house. Like like I was like, took care
- 28:49Speaker 3: of everybody. I cooked. I don't know, I'm looking at
- 28:52Speaker 3: all these professionals. Nobody said how much they like to cook.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. If we have any Italians on.
- 28:59Speaker 3: Here, maybe that's the problem.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's the big deal. Susan last question
- 29:04Speaker 2: for you. We will be recapping every episode of The
- 29:09Speaker 2: Gold and Bachelor premierees on September twenty fourth, so listen
- 29:13Speaker 2: in here to the almost fon this podcast as we
- 29:15Speaker 2: get into actually knowing these cast members. But Susan last
- 29:19Speaker 2: question for you in relation to this season. Do you
- 29:22Speaker 2: think Mel's going to get engaged at the end of this?
- 29:25Speaker 3: You know, I have my doubts. I do. I don't
- 29:29Speaker 3: know why, but I have my doubts. But I hope
- 29:32Speaker 3: he leaves with somebody.
- 29:34Speaker 2: It feels like there's a lot of a lot of
- 29:40Speaker 2: things that need to be crossed over and healed before
- 29:44Speaker 2: he can actually say, yes, I'm going to engage this.
- 29:47Speaker 2: It felt like he came into this a little hesitant
- 29:50Speaker 2: and not really knowing what this whole experience was.
- 29:53Speaker 3: The mouth and yeah, like I said, I'm sure he
- 29:57Speaker 3: was just teasing, like not teasing, but there's something that
- 29:59Speaker 3: got I say and people say, I hope that's the case.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm giving him the benefit of doubt here. I
- 30:05Speaker 2: don't think it was a good move. I think it
- 30:07Speaker 2: was probably one of the worst things he could say
- 30:09Speaker 2: as the Golden Bachelor. I think it was like did.
- 30:12Speaker 3: You read the tablet? Like the comments like get a
- 30:16Speaker 3: new one, give the guy a break. He made a mistake.
- 30:19Speaker 3: You know. I'm always up for the underdog, like give
- 30:22Speaker 3: somebody a chance.
- 30:24Speaker 2: To give him a chance. I'm hoping for a love
- 30:27Speaker 2: story is what I'm hoping for here again. September twenty fourth,
- 30:31Speaker 2: The Golden Bachelor will be airing. We are excited about
- 30:34Speaker 2: it here at ALM Listeners podcast. It might not seem
- 30:36Speaker 2: like it, but I am excited about it. I am
- 30:38Speaker 2: just more hesitant going into this season as I was
- 30:41Speaker 2: any of the old former Golden seasons. But I am
- 30:46Speaker 2: willing to give this guy a benefit of the doubt.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Don't be hesitant. This is going to be good. These
- 30:50Speaker 3: girls are gonna shine.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Trust Susan, she knows what she's talking about. Until next time,
- 30:55Speaker 2: I've been been Thank you.
