- 0:01Speaker 1: If you know what I'm saying, so so shameous, if
- 0:07Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, so shameless, if you know
- 0:13Speaker 1: what I'm saying, sous, so shameless, so so so smous,
- 0:24Speaker 1: If you know what I'm saying, so shamous, if you
- 0:30Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, so shameless, if you know what
- 0:36Speaker 1: I'm saying, so shameless.
- 0:41Speaker 2: If you know what I'm saying, if I can start,
- 0:46Speaker 2: I have bad things, sister.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I have a new ski.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I have a newfound fear and anxiety. I developed it
- 0:53Speaker 2: last night when I was up three o'clock in the
- 0:54Speaker 2: morning doom strolling very bad.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Mm.
- 1:00Speaker 5: What did you.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Little niggas?
- 1:06Speaker 4: Whyans yo?
- 1:07Speaker 2: I'm terrified of these niggas, bro Like I think that
- 1:10Speaker 2: I'm I'm actually at the point when I'm scared of
- 1:13Speaker 2: the youth.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I'm not even gonna hold you. Them niggas as scary
- 1:16Speaker 3: as hell.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Yeah, did you see.
- 1:17Speaker 3: What they did at Brooklyn Bridge Park? That's nigga. I'm scared.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I'm scared of whatever summer y'all about to have.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I'm terrified for y'all, y'all New Yorkers.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I'm terrified.
- 1:30Speaker 2: These little niggas had one seventy degree day, they all
- 1:35Speaker 2: had a.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Link up at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
- 1:36Speaker 2: It was like two hundred m niggas, I swear to god,
- 1:39Speaker 2: cops come out of nowhere like they just they just running,
- 1:42Speaker 2: They just all everywhere. Then then somebody got snuffed, and
- 1:46Speaker 2: then like the brother of the kid that got snuffed
- 1:49Speaker 2: like jumped in and it was like a big ass
- 1:50Speaker 2: brawl and the cops just trying to break it up.
- 1:52Speaker 2: They throwing shit at the cops, They throwing balls at
- 1:54Speaker 2: the cops, all types of shit, Like it is actually terrifying.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Like I had a conversation I said this on the
- 2:02Speaker 2: show a while ago that before I met Drew, there
- 2:07Speaker 2: was this cop nigga that I tried to talk to
- 2:10Speaker 2: and we had a fundamental ethical differences, so it didn't
- 2:14Speaker 2: work out.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Like literally, we had.
- 2:16Speaker 2: A conversation about the youth in New York and Brooklyn specifically,
- 2:22Speaker 2: and he was a detective and he's just like, yeah,
- 2:26Speaker 2: you know, we gotta like get down on crime, and
- 2:29Speaker 2: we gotta start liking these niggas up because they're out
- 2:31Speaker 2: of control and they doing this and they doing that.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Da da da, And as an educator.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I'm like, no, what we need is we need more
- 2:38Speaker 2: resources for kids. We need more things for kids to
- 2:41Speaker 2: do after school. We need more mentorship and allyship for children,
- 2:44Speaker 2: because at this point, if they don't have anywhere to
- 2:46Speaker 2: go and they don't have anything to do, that's what
- 2:49Speaker 2: gets them into the bullshit.
- 2:50Speaker 3: We need to invest in education.
- 2:51Speaker 2: And we literally had like a fundamental disagreement. And he
- 2:55Speaker 2: was like, what you're saying is gonna take too long.
- 2:57Speaker 2: And I said, yeah, it's not gonna happen overnight. But
- 3:00Speaker 2: if you start investing in education from now, in four
- 3:04Speaker 2: or five years, you're going to see gains. This conversation
- 3:08Speaker 2: was now seven years ago, we went your route with
- 3:10Speaker 2: your ball headed as a cop ass mayor from before. Now,
- 3:14Speaker 2: look at these kids, they are literally running it's hundreds
- 3:19Speaker 2: of them running around that ship.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Is that ship is not terrifying, y'all?
- 3:24Speaker 5: No, they had they of.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Course they have their shaisties on.
- 3:29Speaker 2: But then you also have to understand that this is
- 3:31Speaker 2: a generation of kids that was not They don't have
- 3:33Speaker 2: moral values, and they haven't really been raised by anybody.
- 3:36Speaker 2: They've been raised by computers and internets and tablets and ship.
- 3:39Speaker 2: So like back in the day and me, they was
- 3:43Speaker 2: raised by me. You're a teacher, I am.
- 3:46Speaker 4: You've been an educator for the better part of.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Their entire life, of their entire I know these niggas.
- 3:53Speaker 4: You you New York, have more contact with those y
- 4:01Speaker 4: ns and get anybody else in.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Here and guess what over the last it comes to
- 4:05Speaker 2: when it comes to the children that I have cultivated,
- 4:07Speaker 2: and take responsibility.
- 4:09Speaker 4: For what you your influence on the.
- 4:11Speaker 6: Children, on the youth as a whole do I as
- 4:15Speaker 6: a teacher, principal, dean, the whole thing para the whole
- 4:19Speaker 6: part of their upbringing?
- 4:20Speaker 4: Do you take responsibility? You talk like them, You just
- 4:23Speaker 4: like them, You are part of their culture. I never had.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I see, I said, what you're doing here, and it's
- 4:30Speaker 3: cute or whatever.
- 4:31Speaker 2: However, Comma the difference is I am a type of
- 4:36Speaker 2: person that if I come around any kid that I
- 4:39Speaker 2: came in contact with, there's automatic respect that's given to
- 4:43Speaker 2: me as an individual, But not in the masses because
- 4:46Speaker 2: parents have not taught their children to respect people. They
- 4:50Speaker 2: have taught people their children to respect individuals. So I
- 4:54Speaker 2: get respect. Perfect example, I went up to the high
- 4:57Speaker 2: school of uh my charter has one high school. I
- 5:00Speaker 2: went up to the high school and I'm just standing
- 5:03Speaker 2: in the whole way and I'm just talking. I'm talking
- 5:04Speaker 2: to other leaders or whatever, and I'm running into my
- 5:07Speaker 2: old students, and as soon as they see me, the
- 5:09Speaker 2: ship that they know that I would have a problem
- 5:11Speaker 2: with automatically started disappearing like niggas walking around with hoodies
- 5:14Speaker 2: on headphones on Shistyes.
- 5:16Speaker 3: They look at me like like, oh mister, oh right,
- 5:20Speaker 3: what's up?
- 5:21Speaker 2: Like, yeah, don't I don't. I talk to students. I
- 5:24Speaker 2: talk to scholars. You don't look like a scholar right now.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Don't speak to me.
- 5:26Speaker 4: What's the difference between you and the other teachers that
- 5:28Speaker 4: don't get that type of respect.
- 5:31Speaker 3: I can't into that today.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I can't answer that today because I could, but I'm
- 5:38Speaker 2: on a slippery slope right now.
- 5:40Speaker 4: When I was in school, I only related to teachers
- 5:45Speaker 4: I felt understood me. It was It was a very
- 5:50Speaker 4: it's a thin line, of course, but there was something
- 5:53Speaker 4: there and the way you related energy something that and
- 5:58Speaker 4: it's not black. It's not just yeah, there's something there.
- 6:02Speaker 3: I can tell you what it is. It's high love
- 6:05Speaker 3: and high accountability.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And that's what I was talking to some leaders about
- 6:09Speaker 2: this week, because they're like, oh, yeah, we tell them to,
- 6:12Speaker 2: you know, like try to enforce the uniform mandate or whatever,
- 6:15Speaker 2: and they don't listen and they start cursing you around
- 6:17Speaker 2: and be like, fuck out of here. I'm not gonna
- 6:18Speaker 2: do shit. I say, yo, watch this. It was a
- 6:21Speaker 2: high school girl. She had on her school uniform but
- 6:23Speaker 2: her belly button like she had it tied up. And
- 6:26Speaker 2: I said, oh, my gosh, you are so pretty. And
- 6:28Speaker 2: I said, am I looking at your belly button right now?
- 6:30Speaker 2: I don't think that's school appropriate, do you? But you
- 6:32Speaker 2: are beautiful? And she was like no, and she starts
- 6:37Speaker 2: pulling it down. Yeah, because you don't have to be
- 6:39Speaker 2: a dickhead. You don't have to be like take that off,
- 6:42Speaker 2: do this, do that. I don't talk to children like
- 6:44Speaker 2: that because at the end of the day, their children,
- 6:45Speaker 2: their job is to push the envelope. You have to
- 6:48Speaker 2: lead with love and high accountability. I want you to know, yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 2: I just told you to take off your hoodie and
- 6:53Speaker 2: your headphones. But I just want you to know, in
- 6:55Speaker 2: two seconds, if I see somebody else do I'm gonna
- 6:57Speaker 2: say the same thing to him. So that's the accountability
- 6:59Speaker 2: and it's love. One of my kids rolled up on
- 7:02Speaker 2: me this nigga had on a hoodie, a shisty and
- 7:04Speaker 2: a face mask and walked up to me to give
- 7:07Speaker 2: me a hug.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I was like, Yo, who know who is this? I
- 7:10Speaker 3: didn't know who the fucking was.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I was like, I'm gonna try to trauma y'all gotta chill.
- 7:14Speaker 2: And he starts taking everything off and I said, Oh,
- 7:17Speaker 2: that's my baby, that's my kid. This is the kid
- 7:20Speaker 2: that I know.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Now, how you doing.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Think, Sean? I'm a direct this towards you, By the way, everybody,
- 7:24Speaker 4: Welcome back to So Shameless. Last week was interesting. I
- 7:28Speaker 4: will say that it's difficult. We're gonna keep working with it.
- 7:32Speaker 4: We're trying to get it together.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Mercuries and microbrades. It's not our fault.
- 7:36Speaker 4: I'm fifty one years old, so don't expect me to
- 7:38Speaker 4: understand that I'm working on it. We're working through it.
- 7:42Speaker 4: But we have a guest, uh note, the notorious thug
- 7:47Speaker 4: Okay shot Thug. She's in Brooklyn.
- 7:52Speaker 5: Hi. Hello, you know what I'm saying with you again?
- 7:55Speaker 4: Out here from Houston? What do they call it? We
- 7:57Speaker 4: call New York the towns? What do y'all call y'all think?
- 8:00Speaker 4: The times?
- 8:03Speaker 5: Houston m hmmm.
- 8:05Speaker 4: So y'all kind of the towns, but y'all want to
- 8:10Speaker 4: because Atlanta's the A.
- 8:11Speaker 7: Yeah, M I'm sorry, I'm not even.
- 8:24Speaker 4: I was raised a particular way. I would get back
- 8:28Speaker 4: more into my introduction shot in a minute, but I
- 8:31Speaker 4: was noticing. I was remarking the difference between kids today
- 8:36Speaker 4: and when I was growing up, and every of course,
- 8:38Speaker 4: everybody has different ways of raised. But I was raised
- 8:41Speaker 4: more like if you don't, I'm going to kill you.
- 8:46Speaker 5: That was.
- 8:48Speaker 4: It was more like listen, fear. It was like even
- 8:53Speaker 4: in a way she spoke to me around the house
- 8:55Speaker 4: when I wasn't doing anything. It was a very strict like, boy,
- 8:59Speaker 4: what you know what I'm saying, and it better be
- 9:02Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. It was all of those
- 9:04Speaker 4: connotations and that ship you know whatever. I think it
- 9:06Speaker 4: affected me, Shy, What was your upbringing like? Was it
- 9:11Speaker 4: more like that or more like the love when people
- 9:13Speaker 4: say they were raised with love?
- 9:15Speaker 7: No no love, no.
- 9:20Speaker 5: Love, wear no.
- 9:22Speaker 7: It was very much do this because I said so
- 9:25Speaker 7: very much, I'm not one of your little friends. That's
- 9:29Speaker 7: the major difference between how we were raising how these kids.
- 9:34Speaker 7: Everybody on the phone, they sent an Instagram reels to
- 9:37Speaker 7: each other like they pattens. They're not parent kids, so
- 9:41Speaker 7: they cool with each other. They saying what's up gang
- 9:45Speaker 7: to one another, what's up?
- 9:47Speaker 4: Gang?
- 9:48Speaker 2: I have sat in meetings when I've had to tell
- 9:54Speaker 2: kids to speak to their parents in a different way
- 9:57Speaker 2: in front of me like dead ass, Like yo, like
- 10:00Speaker 2: did you just brow your mom?
- 10:01Speaker 3: You don't even brow me? Be respectful?
- 10:04Speaker 2: Like literally having to have parents come up from meeting,
- 10:07Speaker 2: and then when the parents have to leave, I have
- 10:09Speaker 2: to tell the kids, YO, say goodbody your mother, say
- 10:11Speaker 2: goodbody your father. Tell them to have a good day,
- 10:13Speaker 2: and sorry for inconveniencing them day because they had to
- 10:15Speaker 2: come up here for this stupid ship. Like I have
- 10:17Speaker 2: to tell this to children in front of their parents,
- 10:20Speaker 2: and I'll just be like, hmmm, apple.
- 10:24Speaker 4: And I noticed that, m I don't know if I
- 10:27Speaker 4: want to go there.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Take it to hell, go ahead the mothers.
- 10:36Speaker 4: There was a there was a video that I saw.
- 10:40Speaker 4: There was a video that I saw where a guy
- 10:43Speaker 4: was like how the kids talk to their parents?
- 10:45Speaker 2: Like okay, yah, yeah, that out your mouth, smack it
- 10:51Speaker 2: right out your mouth.
- 10:52Speaker 4: But I noticed that the kids, they don't talk to
- 10:54Speaker 4: me like that. The girls don't talk to me like that,
- 10:56Speaker 4: they talk to their moms like that.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, Well why is that?
- 11:00Speaker 4: Because and the reason I asked that is because for
- 11:03Speaker 4: the large part, these children are being raised in single
- 11:06Speaker 4: home by the mom. So if they think they can
- 11:09Speaker 4: get away with it there, why wouldn't that trance of
- 11:13Speaker 4: the rest of your life.
- 11:13Speaker 2: It's not even I don't think it's about single homes
- 11:16Speaker 2: per se, because I can say, like thinking about Parker,
- 11:19Speaker 2: the way Parker treats.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Me and Drew is completely different. It's night and day.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Even like the way that she, like I will say
- 11:25Speaker 2: something and she'll say something back, but he'll say something.
- 11:28Speaker 3: And she'll just fucking do it. It's something about the mom.
- 11:31Speaker 2: I think that because the mom, especially at the early years,
- 11:33Speaker 2: we're more like the nurturers. So like, yeah, we're the
- 11:36Speaker 2: soft place to land, so you feel like you could
- 11:38Speaker 2: play with me, and then when you realize that you
- 11:40Speaker 2: can't play with me, you don't have no allies in
- 11:42Speaker 2: this house, little nigga, Like I have to like tell
- 11:44Speaker 2: her this all the time, like it's us versus you,
- 11:47Speaker 2: Like I don't even care, Like I'm not your friend,
- 11:49Speaker 2: I'm not your homie.
- 11:51Speaker 3: None of that shit. Like I'm gonna be kid. You
- 11:53Speaker 3: say that to her, I'm not even talking to her
- 11:56Speaker 3: right now. I'm not even gonna hold you. I'm not
- 11:58Speaker 3: speaking to her. I'm not speaking to speaking of She
- 12:01Speaker 3: threw something at me yesterday.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Blood. Wait wait, sometimes.
- 12:04Speaker 3: It's all right. It was an air ring.
- 12:07Speaker 2: You don't really it wasn't nothing, it wasn't nothing consequence
- 12:10Speaker 2: to But it's like she would not throw something at Drew,
- 12:13Speaker 2: so you I told her yesterday, I said, I think
- 12:16Speaker 2: that you need to understand, like you don't really know
- 12:18Speaker 2: your mother, like you know your mother as the nurturing
- 12:20Speaker 2: like oh my god, my baby, and hug you and
- 12:23Speaker 2: kiss up on you, and you know that sad of mother.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Please don't make me have to be the real meat.
- 12:27Speaker 3: And you got she I don't. She don't know me
- 12:30Speaker 3: like that. She's she just got here.
- 12:31Speaker 2: She a new nigga, Like you don't really know me,
- 12:33Speaker 2: blood like years you know, you just got here. You
- 12:36Speaker 2: don't know your mother in real life. And I'm I'm
- 12:38Speaker 2: gonna take it to hell every time. I never violate
- 12:41Speaker 2: like you in what world do you throw something at
- 12:44Speaker 2: your mother because you got an attitude? I will tear
- 12:46Speaker 2: this whole fucking house up. I would have never made
- 12:48Speaker 2: it at the house exactly. But I'm not a I'm
- 12:51Speaker 2: not a beater. Yeah, so that's the difference.
- 12:54Speaker 5: A lot of parents aren't that shit.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Don't feel the parent that that don't feel.
- 12:59Speaker 4: You don't a gentle parent.
- 13:00Speaker 2: No, No, I'm not a gentle parent. I'm an understanding parent.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Whereas I opt to talk before I give consequences because
- 13:09Speaker 2: I need to understand the rationale.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Is it the parents, like we can say, all right,
- 13:14Speaker 4: we know low income housing, middle class, we know how
- 13:17Speaker 4: that kind of affects the upbringing of children, right, Is
- 13:21Speaker 4: it the parents relationship with the child that kind of
- 13:25Speaker 4: determines how they view the world.
- 13:27Speaker 8: I think we got a different so this generation, and
- 13:31Speaker 8: so I would say Generation X and the millennials that
- 13:33Speaker 8: are raising the kids right now are a little bit
- 13:36Speaker 8: younger in spirit than the older generation than our parents
- 13:39Speaker 8: growing up. So I guess that makes us a little
- 13:42Speaker 8: bit more relatable and they could talk to us a
- 13:45Speaker 8: little bit different differently because I remember, like you know,
- 13:47Speaker 8: I was raised with love. My parents were very progressive,
- 13:50Speaker 8: but there was a clear distinct line that these were
- 13:54Speaker 8: adults and not even just with my parents, my parents, friends,
- 13:57Speaker 8: everybody we talk to, grown ups and elders.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Back then was totally different. I still don't cuss in
- 14:03Speaker 4: front of my parents, you know what I mean.
- 14:08Speaker 3: But that's real.
- 14:09Speaker 8: So it's a certain level of respect and boundaries that
- 14:13Speaker 8: existed that I don't think exists anymore. I don't know why,
- 14:17Speaker 8: and I'm guessing maybe it's the relatability because we were
- 14:20Speaker 8: just younger presenting.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I think it's that, But I also it's these damn phones. Man,
- 14:25Speaker 2: it's these damn phones.
- 14:26Speaker 3: We gotta get through.
- 14:27Speaker 4: We started getting off the phones too soon, we start getting.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I think that what happened is a lot of parents nowadays,
- 14:33Speaker 2: we're so busy and we have so many things that's
- 14:35Speaker 2: going on that we have substituted real parenting with things
- 14:41Speaker 2: to keep our kids distracted and occupied.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Right, So I think that like for me.
- 14:48Speaker 2: I noticed a clear shift in my kid early on,
- 14:53Speaker 2: and I took her iPad for years, like for years,
- 14:57Speaker 2: maybe like three years.
- 14:58Speaker 3: She didn't have it.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Like right now, I am in that season of making
- 15:02Speaker 2: sure that I have to. I have to balance what
- 15:04Speaker 2: you're watching and what you're ingesting because that also is
- 15:08Speaker 2: part of it.
- 15:09Speaker 3: And you around other kids that are iPad babies.
- 15:13Speaker 2: And cell phone baby, like I know seven year olds
- 15:15Speaker 2: with a cell phone, Like, y'all get the fuck out
- 15:17Speaker 2: of here.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Is it drugs? Why would a seven year old need
- 15:20Speaker 3: one of these?
- 15:20Speaker 2: I don't even need one of these, Like I can
- 15:23Speaker 2: see the addictive properties that are happening in me as
- 15:26Speaker 2: a grown ass woman. You're gonna get a shit to
- 15:27Speaker 2: a child, Just give them crack.
- 15:30Speaker 7: Things have changed though between out like you could comfortably
- 15:34Speaker 7: leave a child at home by theyself back in the day.
- 15:37Speaker 7: Don't open the door for nobody, don't answer the phone.
- 15:39Speaker 7: You can't do it if these god damn kids now these.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Niggas is kind of they they they're not. Yeah, they're not.
- 15:45Speaker 2: They're not as a depth as it comes to where
- 15:50Speaker 2: they should be cognitively at a certain age, because they
- 15:54Speaker 2: only know the screen. And I'm I'm very cognizant, and
- 15:58Speaker 2: I'm trying my best. I'm trying my best, but I'm
- 16:01Speaker 2: also fighting an uphill battle. I'm fighting the battle of
- 16:04Speaker 2: but everybody else but all of my friends have and
- 16:07Speaker 2: all of my friends get to do and and I
- 16:10Speaker 2: want to do a TikTok with you, Mommy and I
- 16:12Speaker 2: want to I want to do videos on YouTube, but
- 16:14Speaker 2: you do video and I'm just like.
- 16:15Speaker 3: I hear you. But I also got degrees, shorty, like
- 16:18Speaker 3: I don't even know what you're talking about.
- 16:20Speaker 5: Were not on the same lovel were not.
- 16:22Speaker 2: I'm here and you're here like you got you gotta
- 16:25Speaker 2: matriculate some ship.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Are the adults too young? No? What is what if?
- 16:32Speaker 5: Speak?
- 16:32Speaker 4: Like Traum was saying. Back then, we knew what an
- 16:36Speaker 4: adult was. They presented themselves like an adult. They listened
- 16:38Speaker 4: to different music, they lived a different type of life,
- 16:41Speaker 4: which there wasn't a There was a clear separation between
- 16:43Speaker 4: them and us. Now we dressed the same.
- 16:46Speaker 5: You got on the damn everybody got on Lululemon.
- 16:50Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying. The whole house got on.
- 16:52Speaker 4: You know what I mean, everybody's got on the same ship, sweatsuit.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Everybody's got to say the same and mac since everybody
- 17:00Speaker 4: got the same, right, we all listen to the same music.
- 17:06Speaker 4: You listening to summer, I'm listening to summer, you know
- 17:09Speaker 4: what I mean? Dad, Mom? Everybody listening to shit? Is
- 17:13Speaker 4: there a lack of respect? Now? Always showing a lack
- 17:16Speaker 4: of respect because they're not really able to see the
- 17:19Speaker 4: difference between where they at and where we're at because
- 17:23Speaker 4: of how we act socially.
- 17:26Speaker 3: I think that there's an argument to be made for that.
- 17:28Speaker 2: However, I think it's a scapegoat because regardless of me
- 17:33Speaker 2: and my mom, we used to listen to the same music.
- 17:36Speaker 4: To her music.
- 17:37Speaker 3: No no, no, no no.
- 17:38Speaker 2: When I say we used to listen to the same music,
- 17:41Speaker 2: like she would buy albums for us, like CDs for us.
- 17:46Speaker 2: When I was listening to Eminem, she was listening to Eminem.
- 17:48Speaker 2: When I was listening to jay Z, she was listening
- 17:50Speaker 2: to jay Z. Now mind you, she also had the
- 17:51Speaker 2: Araca body listen.
- 17:53Speaker 7: Yeah, and I loved it, right.
- 17:59Speaker 3: I'm blast.
- 18:02Speaker 4: I tried to.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Hold you like I used to really fuck with Eminem backing.
- 18:06Speaker 2: But you know the only thing she did not fuck
- 18:08Speaker 2: with she did not fuck with my white people music.
- 18:09Speaker 3: She hated it.
- 18:10Speaker 2: When I played my INSYNCT in my Britney Spears, she
- 18:12Speaker 2: was like, oh, turn his whack ship off. I'm like no,
- 18:16Speaker 2: but but yeah, that was really my ship back then.
- 18:19Speaker 2: But I think that there is I think that that's
- 18:23Speaker 2: a that's a cop out because it's not my fault
- 18:26Speaker 2: that I love the new music, but I also love
- 18:30Speaker 2: the old music. In my house, I'm playing everything and
- 18:32Speaker 2: I'm Caribbean, so I'm playing everything top to bottom.
- 18:37Speaker 4: What you think about that? Do you think that there's
- 18:39Speaker 4: needs to be a clearer separation between adult and child
- 18:43Speaker 4: because there's a lack of respect.
- 18:45Speaker 7: Yeah, but I don't think it's It's not the music though,
- 18:48Speaker 7: because you know, we did listen to the same stuff,
- 18:50Speaker 7: but I was also introduced to older stuff. It's the
- 18:54Speaker 7: it's diversify the kids, So I think that that makes
- 18:58Speaker 7: for a better upbringing, just being a little more broad
- 19:01Speaker 7: in your music, because yeah, I do know Sexy Red,
- 19:03Speaker 7: but I also was raised on Luther exactly and Anita
- 19:07Speaker 7: and you know stuff like that. These kids don't know Luther.
- 19:10Speaker 7: The kids don't even know Beyonce was part of a group, right,
- 19:14Speaker 7: And it's pissing me off.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I don't like talking to me. I don't like talking
- 19:18Speaker 2: to little niggas when it comes to music. It actually
- 19:20Speaker 2: really pisses me off. But I will say I think
- 19:22Speaker 2: that I've done a pretty okay job at diversifying Parker
- 19:26Speaker 2: at least because like one of her favorite songs is
- 19:28Speaker 2: Return of the.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Mac, and I didn't put home. That's her ship. That's
- 19:32Speaker 3: really her ship, like she whoa just like.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Taste my son's know or Michael Jackson.
- 19:40Speaker 3: It was so cute yesterday.
- 19:43Speaker 5: Yeah, that was exciting.
- 19:45Speaker 4: I do want to I have it. I don't know
- 19:47Speaker 4: should I say this?
- 19:48Speaker 9: Here we go?
- 19:50Speaker 4: What we were doing? Good?
- 19:51Speaker 5: Why don't get excited?
- 19:52Speaker 4: What?
- 19:54Speaker 2: Wow?
- 19:54Speaker 4: Bro?
- 19:55Speaker 3: Other than the fact that people.
- 19:58Speaker 4: People like, oh, you're such a good dad and such
- 20:01Speaker 4: and such, and I'm like, I could do way better
- 20:06Speaker 4: the amount of time that I take to hustle and
- 20:10Speaker 4: to work and to like, you know what I'm saying,
- 20:14Speaker 4: I'm not spending the amount of time that I like,
- 20:16Speaker 4: I could be having those type moments with them all
- 20:17Speaker 4: the time. They don't know they can't, especially autism kids.
- 20:21Speaker 4: And there's so many men period, there's parents out there.
- 20:26Speaker 4: I don't even say. Man, there's so many people who
- 20:28Speaker 4: are reluctant to let the world know they have autistic children.
- 20:36Speaker 4: And I get the response is like, yo, I can't
- 20:38Speaker 4: believe that you're like so open about it and.
- 20:41Speaker 3: You know, how do your babies?
- 20:45Speaker 4: But yeah, it's that's an episode that i'ma have to
- 20:51Speaker 4: do about being an autistic parent. You know what I'm saying,
- 20:53Speaker 4: but yeah, I just wish that I took yo having
- 20:56Speaker 4: that hustle mentality. It kind of sucks, it does it
- 20:59Speaker 4: kind of because you missed life. You're doing all of
- 21:02Speaker 4: this like I gotta get it. I gotta get it
- 21:04Speaker 4: and get it. And the whole time your friends is
- 21:06Speaker 4: having birthdays, your kids wanted to go over here, but
- 21:09Speaker 4: you're flying out, or you doing this, that and the other.
- 21:11Speaker 4: You missing all of all of these great moments. Shot
- 21:14Speaker 4: your content creator. Now I am what are the ups
- 21:18Speaker 4: and downs for you?
- 21:20Speaker 7: Burnout is the biggest down since I've really gotten into
- 21:25Speaker 7: it for real.
- 21:26Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 21:29Speaker 7: How to I haven't figured out how to balance the time,
- 21:32Speaker 7: like I talk damn there for a living now.
- 21:35Speaker 5: I don't won't talk no more.
- 21:36Speaker 4: I don't be wanting to talk.
- 21:38Speaker 5: But I'm the talker.
- 21:40Speaker 7: I'm chatty Patty, and it feels weird that I don't
- 21:43Speaker 7: want to talk as much anymore. So I'm trying to
- 21:45Speaker 7: figure out how to kind of balance and navigate through
- 21:49Speaker 7: that and a lot of people men. Men, you know,
- 21:55Speaker 7: somebody literally told me yesterday, no, turn the podcast off.
- 21:57Speaker 7: You're not gonna talk to me like we on the podcast.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Because I had a question. I asked a question. It
- 22:06Speaker 5: was a simple question.
- 22:10Speaker 4: No.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Actually, you know, I used to get the same thing
- 22:13Speaker 2: as being an educator, because with being an educator, like
- 22:17Speaker 2: I think that we are prone to just asking a
- 22:19Speaker 2: lot of questions, a lot of follow up.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Questions and make it make sense.
- 22:23Speaker 2: And I have had instances with men, particularly like you,
- 22:27Speaker 2: talking to me like I'm one of your students.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Nigga, I'm just asking you a follow up.
- 22:31Speaker 2: You said something stupid, and I'm really trying to put
- 22:34Speaker 2: the pieces today because if it was really, if I
- 22:38Speaker 2: really was on some teacher ship, I would pull out
- 22:39Speaker 2: my whiteboard and write out all the stupid shit you
- 22:42Speaker 2: just said and tell you to explain it. But I'm
- 22:43Speaker 2: trying to be nice. I'll be trying to be nice.
- 22:47Speaker 3: I just asked questions. I get in trouble all the
- 22:48Speaker 3: time for just asking questions.
- 22:50Speaker 5: Tell the you'll teach them.
- 22:54Speaker 4: You can tell yeah, yeah, the way she speaks.
- 22:59Speaker 7: No, not nearly. It's just there's a lot of in
- 23:02Speaker 7: depth explaining. And I can tell you have to do
- 23:05Speaker 7: it a lot, whether it be with kids. You gotta
- 23:08Speaker 7: deal with adults, suit, But I know you're doing it
- 23:10Speaker 7: with kids just I can do.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you one thing. I'll tell you the truth.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I'll never tell you a lie. The way I have
- 23:18Speaker 2: to deal with adults. I want to teach again. I
- 23:21Speaker 2: would rather deal with children than deal with adults, because
- 23:25Speaker 2: adults are driving me fucking crazy. I ask stressed out
- 23:32Speaker 2: dealing with children.
- 23:33Speaker 8: My brother said the same thing when he became a principal.
- 23:35Speaker 8: I don't understand, bro, mister classroom, because now I don't
- 23:38Speaker 8: deal with the kids no more.
- 23:40Speaker 4: I gotta deal with the.
- 23:41Speaker 8: Stupid parents, he implied, and the staff. And it's not
- 23:48Speaker 8: even just the adults in.
- 23:50Speaker 3: General, adults in general.
- 23:51Speaker 2: And it's like I have a lot of grace for children,
- 23:54Speaker 2: and I don't have a lot of grace, nor do
- 23:56Speaker 2: I have a lot of empathy for excuses when it
- 23:58Speaker 2: comes to adults, especially adults that have to impact children,
- 24:02Speaker 2: Like your decisions impact somebody else's education every day. So
- 24:06Speaker 2: if you're a selfish person, I don't have a shop.
- 24:10Speaker 5: You can't be selfish when you work with kids, especially man.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Listen, just keep me in your thoughts and prayers, y'all, canange?
- 24:18Speaker 4: Can I shift the scope of this convo since we
- 24:21Speaker 4: talk about selfishness, I have I have something I wanted
- 24:25Speaker 4: to discuss us with y'all to open up the show.
- 24:29Speaker 4: I don't think the ladies are gonna.
- 24:30Speaker 5: Like it, would you ask it? But I want this is.
- 24:34Speaker 4: What I want to make sure that we set the tone, the.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Tone of what foolishness or negative chaos, harbinger or chaos today.
- 24:47Speaker 10: If I put the seat up to urinate and then
- 24:51Speaker 10: put it down after I'm done at your request, that
- 24:54Speaker 10: is two seat repetitions per urine area. But this arrangement
- 24:58Speaker 10: means that if you go into the bathroom you can
- 25:01Speaker 10: just sit down and urinate and leave with zero seat repetitions.
- 25:05Speaker 4: Per urine area event.
- 25:07Speaker 10: Would it not then be a fair and equitable marriage
- 25:11Speaker 10: arrangement creating a scenario where we are both responsible for
- 25:14Speaker 10: only one seat repetition per urinary event.
- 25:19Speaker 2: And she's gone, thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm
- 25:22Speaker 2: so thank you for walking away.
- 25:23Speaker 3: System.
- 25:24Speaker 4: Are y'all brilliant?
- 25:27Speaker 11: I don't understand what's happening.
- 25:31Speaker 5: Lift the seat back up.
- 25:32Speaker 8: No, here's the thing. This is what I do, and
- 25:35Speaker 8: I just did this in your bathroom, Tahoe. Well, I
- 25:39Speaker 8: think it started that way, but ahead so Dodge used
- 25:41Speaker 8: the bathroom and so the seat was down right I
- 25:44Speaker 8: walked in there. I'm like, Tahoe is a man that
- 25:47Speaker 8: lives here by himself. The seat should be up. But
- 25:51Speaker 8: what I did I closed everything everything. Everybody got to
- 25:55Speaker 8: do some work. Everybody got to put some for who
- 25:58Speaker 8: you are?
- 26:00Speaker 4: So hard? What is it about the toilet? Women up?
- 26:05Speaker 8: So the way I justify it to avoid any discourse
- 26:09Speaker 8: is like, I do that so that nobody drops their
- 26:11Speaker 8: phone in the toilet, because that's happened to me. And
- 26:13Speaker 8: that's the way I explain it to my daughter's stuff,
- 26:15Speaker 8: which actually makes sense. But the real reason is everybody
- 26:18Speaker 8: got putting. We're doing the same work.
- 26:20Speaker 4: What would you do when you was paying was on
- 26:23Speaker 4: the phone? How you drop your phone like this?
- 26:27Speaker 8: It could have happened that ship never happened. Well, I
- 26:29Speaker 8: got a small bathroom my bedroom. It's small, so you
- 26:34Speaker 8: were in the bed and it just flipped into the
- 26:36Speaker 8: never walked into the bathroom on your phone like watching
- 26:40Speaker 8: the video or something. Dropped it like change trip. But
- 26:45Speaker 8: put the ship down and slide around.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Never mind anyway I put the top down to But
- 26:51Speaker 4: I also do it to fuck the house up. That's
- 26:55Speaker 4: what I do because somebody has to do some work here?
- 26:59Speaker 4: Why do What is it about the toilet that were
- 27:03Speaker 4: the one that thinks about it? Y'all don't think enough?
- 27:05Speaker 4: You fall in the toilet? You fall in? Have you
- 27:10Speaker 4: ever peed on the cover? You never did that? So
- 27:14Speaker 4: what is it about the ship being up that funcks
- 27:17Speaker 4: y'all up? So bad?
- 27:19Speaker 5: Normal? I'm used to be down ship? What's wrong the
- 27:27Speaker 5: regular way to have a toilet?
- 27:28Speaker 2: Don't let them bat you into this is a this
- 27:31Speaker 2: is as argument.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Don't don't let them.
- 27:40Speaker 4: There two of us here, we both have.
- 27:41Speaker 3: How many brains are here?
- 27:43Speaker 4: Though we both have rolls right around the house, around
- 27:46Speaker 4: with the family. Why is it that it just caters.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Niggas bullet seat reps like this is? This is where
- 27:53Speaker 2: we are as a society.
- 27:55Speaker 4: But I don't understand.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Said, well, they said we got we gotta do equal
- 28:03Speaker 2: amount of work around here.
- 28:04Speaker 5: Equal the.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Y'all know, y'all are so fucking sassy, like the toilet
- 28:12Speaker 2: seat back up?
- 28:13Speaker 3: We want it now? Fight the power?
- 28:17Speaker 4: Is that?
- 28:18Speaker 3: Beat?
- 28:18Speaker 4: Please?
- 28:20Speaker 3: The four two bathrooms you broke, bitch? How about that?
- 28:23Speaker 5: Put a two bathrooms?
- 28:26Speaker 4: I canford.
- 28:28Speaker 5: Let's also not y'all sit down.
- 28:31Speaker 11: To y'all be sitting down.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Do y'all sit with the toilet seat?
- 28:34Speaker 4: Wait, y'all you sit down to pee? My brother, I
- 28:36Speaker 4: don't worry about it.
- 28:37Speaker 5: You don't ship, you not have I bet do you
- 28:43Speaker 5: do that with the seat up or down? Brother?
- 28:46Speaker 4: I do what I do as according to what I'm doing.
- 28:51Speaker 4: I'm smart. I can actually see like I don't understand
- 28:54Speaker 4: that dumb ship that y'all do. Do y'all be have
- 28:57Speaker 4: you fallen in?
- 28:58Speaker 5: All it took was one time.
- 29:02Speaker 4: For me to never do that.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Ship, I will turn this whole house upside down because
- 29:06Speaker 2: you ain't never been sleepy.
- 29:08Speaker 3: And then like it's the middle of the night, the
- 29:10Speaker 3: lights a quick, I know where my bathroom is.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Like, if I can navigate through my house, I should
- 29:15Speaker 2: be able to navigate through my house in darkness.
- 29:18Speaker 3: That's that. That is normal.
- 29:19Speaker 2: So if I go in the bathroom and I go
- 29:21Speaker 2: to pee because I have a midnight pe, you're telling
- 29:24Speaker 2: me I gotta turn on the light.
- 29:25Speaker 3: I gotta recalibrate my eyes.
- 29:27Speaker 2: I got to sit here, just ship, I'm not gonna
- 29:29Speaker 2: go back to sleep in the same amount of time. Yes,
- 29:32Speaker 2: why why would it.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Not be pitch black?
- 29:35Speaker 4: Windows? Windows?
- 29:37Speaker 2: And I don't have a window in my bathroom afford
- 29:40Speaker 2: a better bathroom?
- 29:41Speaker 3: Oh, out of me, it's crazy. Sorry, I'm so sorry.
- 29:47Speaker 2: The two bathrooms that I have and my ceiling window
- 29:51Speaker 2: apartment overlooking the New York City skyline.
- 29:54Speaker 3: No, I'm sorry. It does not have a window in
- 29:56Speaker 3: the bathroom.
- 29:57Speaker 2: But all of the Florida ceiling windows and my in
- 30:00Speaker 2: higher apartment are beautifully laid out.
- 30:02Speaker 4: So that the light from the moon can tell me
- 30:04Speaker 4: to afford you going. So do y'all think it's a
- 30:08Speaker 4: fair compromise that.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Discussing bathroomic That is not That is not a discussion
- 30:15Speaker 2: that needs to happen in my house.
- 30:17Speaker 4: So that's not a fair comfortble.
- 30:18Speaker 2: No, there is no nigga p the way the toilet
- 30:22Speaker 2: was when you got in, put it back the same
- 30:24Speaker 2: way it was when you left.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Do you do that?
- 30:25Speaker 3: Put it how you find it?
- 30:27Speaker 4: Absolutely, because you just went into my bathroom and what
- 30:30Speaker 4: and arrange it for you and did not do that?
- 30:32Speaker 5: And what the.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Top lid wasn't down when I went in there.
- 30:36Speaker 4: The top lid was down when you went in there,
- 30:39Speaker 4: and then you did not put it back down.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Surely didn't didn't notice? Well, how convenient live here?
- 30:48Speaker 4: Do we not see.
- 30:49Speaker 2: I'm the type of nigga I will open every cabinet
- 30:52Speaker 2: and leave everything open, and it's to before I leave.
- 30:54Speaker 4: And I don't give a right.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Why you give a fuck?
- 30:57Speaker 4: Now y'all be caring about it. I don't care, because
- 30:59Speaker 4: that's why. Let a nigga do that ship in your house.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Let a nigga walk out and leave your cabinets and.
- 31:05Speaker 5: Exactly where you found it, how you found it.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Hello, after watching the sixth Sense, I really have like
- 31:13Speaker 2: a deep disdain for cabinet doors being open like that
- 31:16Speaker 2: ship really fucks with me.
- 31:17Speaker 4: I do nothing for no reason. Right yesterday you tried
- 31:24Speaker 4: to jump side, but you don't understand. I'm brilliant, nigga.
- 31:29Speaker 4: I'm fucking brilliant, and I'm glad they said what they
- 31:31Speaker 4: said just now. I was expecting this.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I was expecting them put the gold put the gold
- 31:39Speaker 2: post in the U haul.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Them to give the men no care as to their
- 31:46Speaker 4: concerns about how what goes on around.
- 31:50Speaker 2: The house, about the repetition, just seats for this.
- 31:58Speaker 12: To be the laid bay go with the flow husband
- 32:01Speaker 12: who is actually the cousin of the good guy present
- 32:03Speaker 12: because of him that we talked about a few weeks ago.
- 32:05Speaker 12: Because women are told that this is the dream. We're
- 32:07Speaker 12: conditioned to believe that we're controlling, and men are conditioned
- 32:10Speaker 12: to see us as controlling, So this feels like a
- 32:12Speaker 12: natural segue in a relationship. He's chill, he's easy, he's
- 32:17Speaker 12: a let you decide, babe kind of guy, and you're
- 32:19Speaker 12: supposed to feel lucky. But here's what this actually ends
- 32:22Speaker 12: up looking like. For most women. It means that you
- 32:24Speaker 12: decide where you live, what the kids.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Do, what school they go to.
- 32:27Speaker 12: You decide holidays, budgets, dinner, You decide when to visit family.
- 32:31Speaker 12: You decide when something is wrong in the relationship and
- 32:33Speaker 12: needs to be addressed. Whereas he just goes with the flow,
- 32:36Speaker 12: which sounds peaceful until you realize.
- 32:38Speaker 3: That you are the flow.
- 32:39Speaker 12: You are the planner, the anticipator, the risk assessor. You
- 32:42Speaker 12: are learn hearing every possible outcome in your head. And
- 32:45Speaker 12: the shittiest part about that is that if something goes wrong,
- 32:48Speaker 12: if the vacation is stressful, if the budget's too tight,
- 32:51Speaker 12: if the schedule is too much, or the kids are
- 32:53Speaker 12: falling behind in school, he just gets to say, well,
- 32:55Speaker 12: I didn't care, I was fine with what I heard,
- 32:58Speaker 12: and of course you were because you want them having
- 33:00Speaker 12: to think about it. Because when you don't have an opinion,
- 33:03Speaker 12: you don't have responsibility. When you're easy going, you're never
- 33:06Speaker 12: held accountable. When you're just happy to help, you never
- 33:09Speaker 12: have to lead. And just like with the good guy
- 33:11Speaker 12: presenting husband, women end up exhausted, not because he's mean
- 33:15Speaker 12: or because he's abusive, but because he got to opt
- 33:18Speaker 12: out of the mental weight of being an adult.
- 33:22Speaker 3: What would you like for me to say to that?
- 33:24Speaker 4: Do you agree with this?
- 33:25Speaker 3: No?
- 33:27Speaker 4: Love that? Why not?
- 33:29Speaker 3: I just don't.
- 33:29Speaker 2: I think that there's a difference between easy going and
- 33:32Speaker 2: go with the flow and somebody that doesn't have a
- 33:34Speaker 2: motherfucking opinion at all.
- 33:36Speaker 4: And those are not mutually God, do you agree with this?
- 33:39Speaker 4: The mental weight of men just going with the flow fall?
- 33:43Speaker 4: And as a man, I would say, because y'all run
- 33:50Speaker 4: the house, you have all these specific things that y'all want.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Things need to go this way. Y'all never let shit go.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Even if I'm right, I feel wrong because your attitude
- 34:00Speaker 4: energy around the house changed because I didn't do it
- 34:04Speaker 4: your way. The oh you should have didn't you should
- 34:08Speaker 4: have done this, You should have did it like this.
- 34:09Speaker 4: I told you that. It just becomes like, yo, bro,
- 34:12Speaker 4: I didn't even care enough to go through this all
- 34:15Speaker 4: the time with you. You didn't like the goddamn curtains
- 34:17Speaker 4: I got you gotta change the curtains. I didn't like
- 34:19Speaker 4: the curtains. I told you, don't get the curtains. I
- 34:20Speaker 4: told you I want to tough the curtains. It's just like, yo,
- 34:22Speaker 4: come on, just do the curtains.
- 34:25Speaker 8: You said it in the beginning of the clip, like
- 34:27Speaker 8: if you're dealing with somebody that's controlling, you're gonna let
- 34:30Speaker 8: them control. Just I'm not trying to fight with you.
- 34:33Speaker 4: You know what I mean. You can't way more about
- 34:35Speaker 4: this shit. And so that's why when it comes to
- 34:37Speaker 4: the house stuff and the kids stuff, because.
- 34:41Speaker 3: Even Dodd said this, no opinion at all?
- 34:46Speaker 4: My opinion is yo, all right, you like that? All right,
- 34:48Speaker 4: let's do it. How can I help? How can how
- 34:50Speaker 4: can I be of service?
- 34:51Speaker 3: Opinion?
- 34:52Speaker 4: Well, go with the flow doesn't mean.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Absence of opinions exactly.
- 34:56Speaker 8: It just means like I will inject my opinion in
- 34:59Speaker 8: certain spots and things, but for the most part, we're
- 35:02Speaker 8: gonna let you control the flow. That doesn't mean that
- 35:07Speaker 8: the man is just sitting there.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Like okay, whatever that if y'all doing it because she
- 35:12Speaker 2: picked the wrong husband, talk about it.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Coin, that's it.
- 35:16Speaker 2: It doesn't make sense if there is no space for
- 35:19Speaker 2: you to have that type of cognitive burnout in your
- 35:23Speaker 2: relationship where you have a husband. That's so, I don't
- 35:26Speaker 2: know what the fuck is going on that he does
- 35:28Speaker 2: not see that you are in need, Like you need
- 35:31Speaker 2: to be able, Yeah, like that's discussion. You should be
- 35:34Speaker 2: able to step in into support. Like that does not
- 35:37Speaker 2: make sense to me. Like I could have a lot
- 35:40Speaker 2: of ideas tentatively, but you need to add your input
- 35:44Speaker 2: in here as well. Why is the whole cognitive load
- 35:47Speaker 2: of everything that happens in this family on my shoulders.
- 35:50Speaker 3: That's not a man that I would marry.
- 35:52Speaker 2: You chose a nigga because you thought that he was
- 35:54Speaker 2: nice and kind, but realized that he didn't come with
- 35:57Speaker 2: any substance, and now you're stuck in that.
- 35:59Speaker 3: You should vetted that out. I don't know what to
- 36:02Speaker 3: tell Shorty.
- 36:02Speaker 4: What I will say.
- 36:06Speaker 2: As crazy about a man that's opting out.
- 36:13Speaker 8: Why is he opting out? He's not necessarily opting out
- 36:17Speaker 8: that she started it by using the word controlling. So
- 36:20Speaker 8: can we give some type of you know, credit where
- 36:23Speaker 8: it's due. If the woman is controlling, that means the
- 36:26Speaker 8: man is opting for peace. He's not opting out of contributing.
- 36:30Speaker 8: He's like, I'm going to let her control the situation
- 36:33Speaker 8: because I don't care as much about whether the carpet
- 36:36Speaker 8: is gray or blue.
- 36:37Speaker 2: I love that, However, I'm kind of disgusted by it
- 36:41Speaker 2: because I don't want to be in proximity with a
- 36:45Speaker 2: man that cannot tell me when things.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Need to be done, like like you, I can.
- 36:51Speaker 2: I can be the type of person that is I
- 36:54Speaker 2: can be the type of person that has like big opinions,
- 36:57Speaker 2: but my man should also be able to tell me
- 36:59Speaker 2: like I relax, You've done enough, Like have a.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Seat, like just like what do you you scared of me?
- 37:06Speaker 3: Like what the fuck are we talking about? I cannot
- 37:07Speaker 3: be with a man that scared me. Son, I can't.
- 37:10Speaker 2: I don't care what I say, what comes out of
- 37:12Speaker 2: his mouth. You're if you're the man, you should be
- 37:14Speaker 2: able like all right, I got this, have a seat, Okay,
- 37:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna sit the fuck down and be cute.
- 37:18Speaker 5: Women just be wanting to sit down sometimes I just
- 37:20Speaker 5: want to.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Sit down sometimes because if you don't make the decisions
- 37:23Speaker 2: and the man don't make any decisions, then nothing fucking happens.
- 37:27Speaker 8: I empathize with the decision fatigue, that's the thing, But
- 37:31Speaker 8: I also understand that both parties got to take some accountability.
- 37:35Speaker 8: The woman can't be like, oh, the man should interject
- 37:38Speaker 8: and take some of this load off me. Take some
- 37:40Speaker 8: accountability for why we got here, why you have this decision.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Fatigue, because y'all both chose the wrong people?
- 37:48Speaker 4: What else? So divorce is the option?
- 37:52Speaker 5: Damn.
- 37:53Speaker 3: I didn't say that. I just said you chose.
- 37:55Speaker 2: If you chose the wrong person, you're gonna have to
- 37:57Speaker 2: stick with that, My boy, like you see.
- 37:59Speaker 4: It through other ways to work it out, other than
- 38:01Speaker 4: choosing somebody.
- 38:02Speaker 7: Telling the game man puts, man, pull in him, make
- 38:08Speaker 7: a decid.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Help, help. I can't believe that.
- 38:16Speaker 4: No matter what that man does, it's not good enough.
- 38:19Speaker 4: The woman is gonna find is the violin in the
- 38:21Speaker 4: back she's just yes, yes.
- 38:27Speaker 2: I used to have that for my students, the world
- 38:30Speaker 2: smallst violin. I used to play when they didn't have
- 38:32Speaker 2: their home.
- 38:32Speaker 4: Getting nothing off. Yeah, nasty. If they do not want
- 38:37Speaker 4: to be half of the community. They just gotta have
- 38:39Speaker 4: some ship to complain about him.
- 38:41Speaker 7: I heard that about the woman being controlling, not belittling
- 38:46Speaker 7: your opinion, or not giving you the space to have
- 38:48Speaker 7: an opinion.
- 38:49Speaker 5: Y'all complain. Y'all both complained.
- 38:50Speaker 4: We didn't complain. We did not complain.
- 38:52Speaker 5: You make an observation.
- 38:54Speaker 8: Acknowledge that the same way the young lady in the
- 38:56Speaker 8: clip did. We acknowledged that that's the case, and we
- 38:59Speaker 8: chose peace, and we're not gonna fight with you.
- 39:01Speaker 3: But choosing pieces?
- 39:06Speaker 5: Crazy?
- 39:08Speaker 4: Do I not realize how much men choose peace to
- 39:11Speaker 4: be in a happy relationships.
- 39:13Speaker 7: Okay, I don't want to debate, I don't want to
- 39:15Speaker 7: rebuttal I don't want.
- 39:16Speaker 4: To have a great example.
- 39:18Speaker 3: Tell me an example.
- 39:19Speaker 8: Hypothetical based on a true story.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Okay, today we're doing it all day.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 39:29Speaker 8: You're in the crib. You got some plumbing issues. Some
- 39:33Speaker 8: things are going awry. It needs to be fixed. If
- 39:37Speaker 8: I call my guy and he comes in and doesn't
- 39:40Speaker 8: fix it properly, I'm never going to hear the end
- 39:43Speaker 8: of it.
- 39:44Speaker 4: Right, Oh my god, you right.
- 39:49Speaker 8: So you call your person the same thing happens. I'm
- 39:53Speaker 8: not gonna give you no ship about it. Sometimes I
- 39:56Speaker 8: will be like, you know what I'd rather you call
- 39:58Speaker 8: your person because is if it works out great, it's
- 40:02Speaker 8: a thankless situation. But if it works out bad, it's good.
- 40:06Speaker 8: It opens it up to so much criticism unwarranted. Sometimes
- 40:11Speaker 8: for the sake of peace, let's just go over your route.
- 40:15Speaker 3: I'm sorry. I'm sorry for whoever's experience.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Right, Like anybody dating a Virgo has going through this,
- 40:22Speaker 4: and y'all know it well.
- 40:23Speaker 2: I'd have never dated a Virgo woman or a Virgo
- 40:27Speaker 2: period or man.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Therefore, I don't know this experience to.
- 40:31Speaker 4: People having less sex in January.
- 40:34Speaker 2: I just think that I don't I don't know why
- 40:39Speaker 2: that is a lot of people's experience. Like I think
- 40:43Speaker 2: that when you're in a relationship or you're in a partnership,
- 40:46Speaker 2: there comes compromise. You cannot control every aspect of everything.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Everybody has to have their own lane. And the reason
- 40:53Speaker 2: why I don't empathize or understand this experience because if
- 40:56Speaker 2: my husband starts doing something, I'm not gonna follow bigger
- 41:00Speaker 2: you already started, that's your task. I'm gonna go find
- 41:02Speaker 2: something else to do. Like if he starts cleaning up
- 41:04Speaker 2: the kitchen. I'm not about to go in the kitchen
- 41:06Speaker 2: and clean up behind. It's a grown up. He's cleaning
- 41:09Speaker 2: the kitchen. I'm either gonna sit the fuck down or
- 41:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna find something else to do. So I don't
- 41:13Speaker 2: know this experience like no matter what it is, it
- 41:16Speaker 2: don't take two people to make the same decision. Even
- 41:19Speaker 2: when we first moved in together, we split the house up.
- 41:22Speaker 2: I said, I'm doing the bedroom. You got the living room.
- 41:25Speaker 2: I'll do the dining room.
- 41:26Speaker 3: You got the kitchen.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Yes, because we gotta do all of that.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Yes, what did he decorating that?
- 41:36Speaker 4: Okay, okay, you got it. You want the bedroom.
- 41:40Speaker 6: Cool because he's an artist, but you think he paints.
- 41:44Speaker 6: He does all types of creative things. Of course, I'm
- 41:49Speaker 6: doing the bedroom. Yes, you do the hallway.
- 41:56Speaker 4: And he said, okay.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Because us first of all, want two things. Number One,
- 42:03Speaker 2: I spend more time in the bedroom. He'll spend more
- 42:06Speaker 2: time in the liberalom. He watches TV mortal. I don't
- 42:07Speaker 2: watch TV. He got this big ass screens. I would
- 42:10Speaker 2: have never bought a TV that big. I exactly, you
- 42:14Speaker 2: don't have to do. He bought the biggest couch I
- 42:18Speaker 2: have ever seen in my life what I bought that.
- 42:21Speaker 3: Of course that's not my This is not my thing.
- 42:23Speaker 2: And if he would have been like, no, babe, let
- 42:24Speaker 2: me do the living room and you do, I mean,
- 42:26Speaker 2: let me do the bedroom and you do living room.
- 42:27Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say no.
- 42:28Speaker 2: But at the end of the day, if we're moving
- 42:30Speaker 2: in together, we both have to have equal say in
- 42:32Speaker 2: what this place looks like.
- 42:33Speaker 3: I can't have this bitch looking like a bachelorette pad.
- 42:35Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say here and buy pink, pink, couch,
- 42:38Speaker 2: pink and everything. You know, I can't do that because
- 42:41Speaker 2: that is what is necessary when you're making decisions together.
- 42:45Speaker 2: So it doesn't matter. If I led the charge of
- 42:47Speaker 2: what room I wanted to do, he still had equal
- 42:50Speaker 2: say in the whole entire apartment. There is nothing that
- 42:54Speaker 2: I bought or that he bought that we did not
- 42:56Speaker 2: say you like this, you like this cool? Yes, went
- 42:59Speaker 2: through hundreds of coffee tables, because that is what compromise
- 43:02Speaker 2: looks like. Like. I don't know what y'all talking about,
- 43:05Speaker 2: but go ahead. I told him to decorate the whole way. Well,
- 43:07Speaker 2: my whole way.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Look like whatever. You my whole way look like whatever.
- 43:12Speaker 3: What is my whole way look.
- 43:13Speaker 4: Like, friend, it looks like and more here in the
- 43:16Speaker 4: room over here, I don't know.
- 43:18Speaker 3: You don't know because you have been in my house,
- 43:20Speaker 3: but you're still talking. Okay, bad friend.
- 43:23Speaker 5: No visit, no visits, several invites.
- 43:26Speaker 3: No visit.
- 43:28Speaker 4: What do men say?
- 43:30Speaker 5: You got it?
- 43:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I know I got that on.
- 43:35Speaker 5: The riot?
- 43:36Speaker 6: And then say, okay, let's say that like this, right,
- 43:39Speaker 6: because y'all do.
- 43:42Speaker 4: Understand this if we change the conversation. Y'all know, we
- 43:45Speaker 4: don't like peace, We don't like chaos or arguing. And
- 43:50Speaker 4: you want a man that doesn't like arguing. You've said
- 43:52Speaker 4: this several timesolutely. I don't don't want a man to
- 43:55Speaker 4: have too many feelings. You don't want a man to
- 43:57Speaker 4: have too many complaints. You want a man to let
- 43:59Speaker 4: you be, you do your thing until you want him
- 44:02Speaker 4: to step up, until you want him to step up.
- 44:05Speaker 3: So what does he do until he needs to step up?
- 44:07Speaker 4: He waits until you need him to step up. That's
- 44:12Speaker 4: what men do.
- 44:13Speaker 5: Wait what are you doing as you wait? Are you
- 44:18Speaker 5: sitting there twiddling your ship?
- 44:20Speaker 3: What are you doing?
- 44:23Speaker 4: Back? And motherfucker, what are you doing?
- 44:28Speaker 5: Part of the strategy, y'all play a call of duty.
- 44:32Speaker 4: Let's be real, how much of those things that she said,
- 44:35Speaker 4: as far as the kids' schedule, whatever's going on around
- 44:39Speaker 4: the house, do you really want your man to take
- 44:41Speaker 4: from you? Shy, not you, not you, not you? How
- 44:44Speaker 4: much of those things do you want?
- 44:45Speaker 7: Realistically, I would niggas don't even know what the he
- 44:48Speaker 7: is allergic to, don't even know the kid can't even
- 44:52Speaker 7: get no penicil like I would. I would love for
- 44:54Speaker 7: you to do that, though, I would love for you
- 44:56Speaker 7: to know, be active, be involved, dude, it ain't It's
- 45:01Speaker 7: not the old days.
- 45:02Speaker 5: Bro.
- 45:02Speaker 7: Niggas don't just go out and they still tow boots
- 45:04Speaker 7: and bring home, bake and give a check and as.
- 45:06Speaker 5: No nigga puts some input in his house.
- 45:09Speaker 7: From the way it looked to Hewes ran, So these
- 45:11Speaker 7: kids up in this motherfucker, they're running.
- 45:13Speaker 5: Me rugged help.
- 45:15Speaker 4: I feel like I try to do that with mine.
- 45:17Speaker 4: But overall, so I'll be like, yo, we need better touts.
- 45:21Speaker 4: You know what, I probably spent what well? I probably
- 45:26Speaker 4: I probably buy that she would want so she might
- 45:32Speaker 4: live more like a I want to say, frugal, but
- 45:35Speaker 4: she's not gonna just like go buy three hundred dollars
- 45:38Speaker 4: towels like, she's not gonna she's She's like, I'm not
- 45:41Speaker 4: spending that. But if we go, if she goes with
- 45:44Speaker 4: me to say home goods or whatever, they don't have
- 45:46Speaker 4: to underd doll toe. But if say it was home
- 45:48Speaker 4: goods and I'm like, do you like these, She's like yeah,
- 45:51Speaker 4: but I just buy them for her. So that's how
- 45:55Speaker 4: I contribute. I go above and beyond. But still her choice.
- 46:00Speaker 4: Does that make sense? Because you keep squinting your eyes.
- 46:05Speaker 5: I'm sorry, get to get the mic in the audience.
- 46:10Speaker 4: How is that game? You wanted my wallet? She has
- 46:15Speaker 4: my wallet. I'm just saying it makes it easier when
- 46:19Speaker 4: she's not gonna do that. She's not gonna do that.
- 46:22Speaker 4: You do you have a man? Person in the audience,
- 46:25Speaker 4: do you have a man? You do not have a man,
- 46:30Speaker 4: So you have not You are not thinking about combined finances?
- 46:35Speaker 4: What's it called when ship?
- 46:38Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 46:38Speaker 4: Like, yo, you're not You're not going to spend his
- 46:40Speaker 4: money previously because that's your money.
- 46:43Speaker 5: I want to spend Red's money. I don't want to
- 46:45Speaker 5: spend mine.
- 46:45Speaker 7: I get that, but my thing is like spend mine
- 46:48Speaker 7: when I can spend.
- 46:49Speaker 3: There's certain things that I just.
- 46:52Speaker 2: That I would hate for my husband to ask me, like, like,
- 46:57Speaker 2: we need towers in the house. You gonna wait and
- 47:00Speaker 2: ask me what, Nigga, go buy the fucking towels.
- 47:02Speaker 3: Bro Go get some towels.
- 47:04Speaker 5: You can never have too many. I'm gonna go out
- 47:06Speaker 5: and get some.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Exactly like if I.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Mentioned like, yo, I think we need a new blanket,
- 47:10Speaker 2: like this blank this douve cover is getting on my nerves.
- 47:13Speaker 2: I want to come in the house and there be
- 47:15Speaker 2: a new duvet cover. But don't be a dickhead and
- 47:18Speaker 2: buy a fucking iridescent douvet cover. And you know the
- 47:22Speaker 2: bedroom is navy blue and motherfucking gray, like like, just
- 47:26Speaker 2: make it make sense.
- 47:26Speaker 4: This is what I'll be talking about. Remember when I
- 47:28Speaker 4: be talking about how she be on wife, you be
- 47:30Speaker 4: on everybody else side. She know how I give it
- 47:33Speaker 4: up in the crib and look how blank nowhere to
- 47:36Speaker 4: be found. Anything else? She's in the comments and she's
- 47:40Speaker 4: right there.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Anything else she's in the comments like now you didn't
- 47:44Speaker 3: do that. Now you know we knew we had two bottles?
- 47:47Speaker 3: Anything else?
- 47:52Speaker 4: Say what I do? I think I don't recall.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I think that I think that the person that has
- 48:02Speaker 2: the more organizational skills sometimes take take the heavy load
- 48:07Speaker 2: of doing a lot of the house upkeep. Like I'm
- 48:10Speaker 2: the one that has all of the important things that
- 48:13Speaker 2: we need on subscription for the house, because these are
- 48:16Speaker 2: the things that I'm thinking about at the top of mind,
- 48:18Speaker 2: so you don't have to think about the minutia.
- 48:20Speaker 3: But if you do see an issue in the house, please.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Don't wait to talk to me about it, like because
- 48:26Speaker 2: then because yo, it's like I'm the project manager, Like
- 48:30Speaker 2: we don't live here together.

- 1:09:42Speaker 4: entitlement from a woman? Sure? Absolutely, in what ways, like
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: a woman that you're not dating or whatever. However, I
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: can't think of a great example.
- 1:09:55Speaker 8: The best exempi I got is like a woman, I
- 1:09:59Speaker 8: can't even say we were dating. We were kind of
- 1:10:01Speaker 8: interested in each other. Went out to eat and she
- 1:10:05Speaker 8: invited her friends along to come eat, just to get.
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: A free meal, you know what I mean. And I
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: was like, you know, it was just strange.
- 1:10:15Speaker 7: Damn a whole meal, not even just cocktails the girls,
- 1:10:22Speaker 7: and that's disgusting.
- 1:10:24Speaker 8: As the man in the situation, of course, I'm gonna
- 1:10:26Speaker 8: pay for it. But I felt the ways like nobody
- 1:10:29Speaker 8: reached for their pocket.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: Because if you wore ugly bitches, I'm gonna be double time.

- 1:10:49Speaker 4: did y'all think that this was cool? Nigga said, no,
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: I'm not. Yes, you just so you must have this
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: must be a gift gies.
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: They're good at it. It'd be working.
- 1:11:03Speaker 7: Yeah, they got away with him, like you said before
- 1:11:06Speaker 7: that they have gotten away with it.
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: Before, my bug. If he was like, no, I'm not paying?
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: Is he cheap? Does he look crazy at the table?
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: Look, he looked a little crazy. But but I would
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: have justified crazy.
- 1:11:16Speaker 8: Yeah, I think it would have been justified. But I
- 1:11:18Speaker 8: think I handled it right. I paid for it.
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: But it was the one and done. Did you beat
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: so you paid? What was the point of this? Is
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: what men's problem is. We really, y'all niggas need to
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: stop caring about how y'all look. Yo, funk that. Here's me,
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: I invited you, here's you. Good night, ladies, y'all have
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: a great night and go about your business and don't
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: call Shorty no more. You're supposed to have standards. You
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: know why y'all saying that he looked crazy for that?
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: No, I said crazy, but justified?
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: You say crazy. That's that crazy.
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: That's a little crazy, bro. It's a little penny pension
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: like you're not. It's not supposed to hurt you that bad. Yeah,
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: it's it's the presentation of it.

- 1:12:23Speaker 3: Yes, Yes, it's dusty. It's dusty all around.
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: So do y'all think I did the right thing by
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: paying it?
- 1:12:30Speaker 7: But then talking, I would have blocked at the table
- 1:12:35Speaker 7: as we sat, as we broke bridge.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: I would have blocked at the table.
- 1:12:39Speaker 7: If you see this, lady, you shouldn't have brought you.
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: So tell me where I'm being broken because obviously you
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: know I like spending money, no problem, but.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: You've done worse.
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: Plus maybe, But in this situation, why did I owe
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: them that meal in order to cut them off?
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: You don't like?
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: What did I do that? I have to show my

- 1:13:02Speaker 4: show you.
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: A yes, and but then I think that.
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: It's different.
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: No, I'm gonna say it. Why I'm gonna say it.
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: It gives a little petty and a little bitchy if
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: you if you're it gives a little petty, especially if
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: you got I can understand. If you don't have it,
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: then that's like like I get that. But if you
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: have it and you know it's not going to set
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: you back, it gives a little like retaliatory, a little bitchy,
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: a little bit like tit for tat. I think it's
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: more appropriate and it's more masculine to be like, I
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: got that, I got this for you broke bitches.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: You're blocked and I'm out.
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: I have five kids.

- 1:13:47Speaker 4: I don't care if I got it or not. Kids,
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: I don't care if I got time. I ain't really
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: have it. This was that makes it. Yeah, that makes
