- 0:02Speaker 1: For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast,
- 0:06Speaker 1: get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Or
- 0:11Speaker 1: Raw Dog It.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Four to seven every weekday.
- 0:14Speaker 1: On Radio Hodake.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Oh, good day, fellas.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Hello. Good day, fellas.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Yeah, really good day. Thanks for asking, man. I was
- 0:27Speaker 2: happy today.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You were happy, past tense.
- 0:31Speaker 2: No, no, I just had a moment of happiness.
- 0:34Speaker 1: What were you thinking about?
- 0:35Speaker 2: Jacking it? No, I'd already done that. No, I hadn't actually.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I hadn't actually jacked it.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Can you just tell me why you were happy?
- 0:45Speaker 3: Well, no, there wasn't anything in particular, Keezy.
- 0:48Speaker 2: It was just a beautiful day.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Was it a bit of contentment, Jase?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah, well, briefly. And then what snapped you out of it?
- 0:54Speaker 2: What was it?
- 0:55Speaker 3: Well, no, I was walking with my wife because she
- 0:57Speaker 3: was donating blood. And we got to the location and
- 1:02Speaker 3: she went, oh, hang on, is it here?
- 1:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:05Speaker 3: And she looked on her maps and went, oh, now
- 1:09Speaker 3: it's telling me it's in Halsey Street, not Shortland Street.
- 1:12Speaker 2: So she said, oh, okay, I've got to go and
- 1:14Speaker 2: do that. Bye, love you. And then I just wandered
- 1:17Speaker 2: around the city down to the harbour there.
- 1:19Speaker 1: So you were sort of rid of her.
- 1:21Speaker 2: And just wandered back, finished off my hot pot for lunch.
- 1:26Speaker 1: You took home hot pot?
- 1:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it was so much.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Too much. It was just a massive bowl. Do you
- 1:30Speaker 1: always do that?
- 1:31Speaker 2: No, not always.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Only if there's some left over?
- 1:34Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Thank you, Muggies. Because traditionally you eat in the restaurant. Yes.
- 1:39Speaker 1: So you had to ask for a doggy bag.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Yeah, well, a doggy bowl.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Fuck.
- 1:43Speaker 2: A doggy bowl. What the hell was that? How was
- 1:45Speaker 2: your day, fellas?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Oh, that's embarrassing. Good day.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Yeah, good.
- 1:49Speaker 1: And what did I do? I felt like I did
- 1:52Speaker 1: something in the morning. Maybe not. Oh, yeah, no, I'll
- 1:54Speaker 1: talk about that on the show. Yeah, bloody good. I
- 1:58Speaker 1: like walking around. I'm enjoying the sunny weather.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Yes, it's very good.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Spring has sprung, Keezy. I don't know if you've noticed, brother,
- 2:04Speaker 1: but yeah, it's bloody, it's shit hot.
- 2:07Speaker 5: I ferried across from Davenport to work today.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Oh, here he is. Old Keezy.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Yeah, man. It's nice, isn't it? It's a very pleasant 10,
- 2:15Speaker 2: 15 minutes.
- 2:17Speaker 5: Yeah, that part of Auckland, Davenport there, lovely part of
- 2:21Speaker 5: the North Shore.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:23Speaker 2: You'll pay for it.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Oh, 100%. Very nice.
- 2:27Speaker 5: Lovely little designer stores and things, and everything looks magnificent.
- 2:31Speaker 5: Then you ferry across to the city, and then you
- 2:33Speaker 5: grab a little.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Snack on the way to the office. It's very like, oh, yeah,
- 2:35Speaker 1: I can do this.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you can do that.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah, totally, man. Totally. And then you look at the
- 2:38Speaker 1: house prizes, and you're like, oh, no, I can't do that.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I can't do that.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Back to West Auckland.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Good art gallery there, too.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Really?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah, the art gallery's got great art in it. Well
- 2:47Speaker 2: beyond my budget, I might add.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 2:50Speaker 3: In fact, as you stated, Keezy, everything in Devonport was
- 2:53Speaker 3: pretty much beyond my budget.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I'd love to live somewhere like that, though.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Funnily enough, my wife.
- 2:59Speaker 3: My wife and I went to see some financial advisors
- 3:02Speaker 3: in Devonport.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Why Devonport?
- 3:06Speaker 2: Oh, because I was looking up various places.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 3: And we ended up with these guys. And we went
- 3:11Speaker 3: and saw them. And about 10 minutes into the chat,
- 3:15Speaker 3: it became very clear– that the amount of money we
- 3:19Speaker 3: were looking to invest and the amount of money they
- 3:22Speaker 3: were thinking of investing, they were poles apart.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Can I just say that?
- 3:27Speaker 1: I've got 12 grand.
- 3:29Speaker 2: And my wife and I were like, oh, I think
- 3:31Speaker 2: we're on.
- 3:31Speaker 3: That's not quite the investment we were looking at. Well,
- 3:36Speaker 3: you know, whatever you got, whatever you're thinking.
- 3:40Speaker 2: No, not really.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'm all good. And then was the advice that maybe
- 3:43Speaker 1: you should download Sharesies?
- 3:45Speaker 4: No.
- 3:45Speaker 3: No.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Maybe you should invest in cheer yoga. Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Well, an investment in your body is the best investment
- 3:55Speaker 3: you can make.
- 3:55Speaker 1: That's right. Yeah, but you're not doing cheer yoga. No,
- 3:57Speaker 1: I know. You're just paying for it.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I know. I think I still am too. Can you
- 4:02Speaker 2: help me get off that, Keezy?
- 4:03Speaker 1: No. I'm not helping you get off. Got my hand
- 4:08Speaker 1: getting off.
- 4:10Speaker 5: The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 4:14Speaker 4: You know how good the Hauraki Big Show podcast is?
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I love those fellas.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Backbone.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Yeah, backbone, you get it. You've got to get around
- 4:24Speaker 4: the live radio show.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Oh, you, when's that?
- 4:27Speaker 4: Four to seven weekdays on Radio Hauraki and iHeartRadio.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Backbone.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Nice. The Hauraki Big Show podcast.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Are you ever going to sort out your Apple TV situation?
- 4:40Speaker 2: I don't know, man. I got charged for it today.
- 4:42Speaker 5: I know, but what have you done to try and
- 4:44Speaker 5: figure it out?
- 4:45Speaker 2: Everything we can think of. Everything we can think of,
- 4:49Speaker 2: we've tried.
- 4:49Speaker 1: It's really frustrating because there's so much good stuff on there, Jason.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I know. You don't need to tell.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Me that, Jason. Whose email address is it signed up with?
- 4:58Speaker 2: Well, that's what we can't figure out.
- 4:59Speaker 1: That's the thing, Keezy.
- 5:00Speaker 2: We can't figure it out.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Have you tried emailing Stephen Jobs?
- 5:04Speaker 2: Is that who runs it, is it?
- 5:06Speaker 1: Or Steve... Oh, Jobby. Jobby. Oh, Joby. Steve Ballmer.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Oh, Joby.
- 5:13Speaker 1: It's Microsoft. Don't know.
- 5:16Speaker 2: We will get there because I know there's a perception.
- 5:19Speaker 1: How will you get there? What are you doing? It's
- 5:21Speaker 1: not a road trip.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I know there's a perception out there that I'm a
- 5:24Speaker 3: bit of a deer brain with this sort of stuff.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Correct.
- 5:26Speaker 2: But it's actually not true. My wife and I are
- 5:28Speaker 2: generally pretty on to.
- 5:29Speaker 3: It, but this has perplexed us and it's perplexed our children.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 5:35Speaker 1: So they've had a crack?
- 5:36Speaker 3: Yes, and they've gone, I'm not quite sure what's going
- 5:39Speaker 3: on here.
- 5:40Speaker 1: How confident are you, Keezy, that you can sort it
- 5:42Speaker 1: out in under 10 minutes?
- 5:45Speaker 5: I don't know because I need to know how many
- 5:48Speaker 5: email addresses, potential addresses could it be?
- 5:51Speaker 1: Because I'm imagining you have one and your wife has one.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Well, this is the issue that we have. We don't
- 5:56Speaker 3: know whose account it's in.
- 5:57Speaker 1: No, I know. You're not listening.
- 6:00Speaker 5: How many potential email addresses could it be?
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yours and your wife's? To sign in this, as you
- 6:05Speaker 1: see there.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Yes, two. But having said that, one of our daughters
- 6:09Speaker 2: may have done it.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Okay, so. Also, wouldn't you just, sorry, Keith. No, you're
- 6:13Speaker 1: all right. You'd search your history because you get a bill. Yes.
- 6:17Speaker 1: The bill would be emailed out to the person who's
- 6:19Speaker 1: the account holder. You look at that address, that's your login.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Yes, no, my wife, it comes out of her card,
- 6:26Speaker 3: our account, but in her name. She's been through her
- 6:30Speaker 3: emails and has found some stuff and has tried to
- 6:34Speaker 3: make it work on the screen, but it's just not working.
- 6:38Speaker 2: And then it says you need a new subscription.
- 6:40Speaker 5: Have you tried doing it on a desktop PC rather
- 6:46Speaker 5: than a phone?
- 6:47Speaker 4: Yes.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Okay, and so let's just say you put in your
- 6:50Speaker 1: wife's email address. Right? Yes. To log in. Just so
- 6:54Speaker 1: you know, he's gone. You've lost him. He's gone. Jase,
- 6:56Speaker 1: come on, man. Come on, man. He's not here anymore.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Come on, Jase.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I know that. This is good shit, man. This is
- 7:02Speaker 1: good shit.
- 7:02Speaker 2: What's happening?
- 7:04Speaker 1: So just quickly, just quickly, Jase. Jase.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yes, Keezy.
- 7:08Speaker 1: So you go to AppleTV.co whatever, right?
- 7:12Speaker 2: It comes up.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Put your email address.
- 7:14Speaker 2: He's not there.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Put your password in, right?
- 7:16Speaker 2: Well, we don't know the password.
- 7:17Speaker 5: No, it's just fucking let me know. So you put
- 7:20Speaker 5: your wife's email address in, right? Yes And then you
- 7:22Speaker 5: click forgot password Yes Does that work? No Doesn't send
- 7:27Speaker 5: it to your wife? No Okay, so it's not your
- 7:29Speaker 5: wife's account then.
- 7:30Speaker 3: And it's not my account because I've searched my emails.
- 7:33Speaker 1: No, no, no, but have you put your email address
- 7:35Speaker 1: and then hit forgot password? No Well then that'll be
- 7:38Speaker 1: that Yeah, I think I could fix it in under
- 7:39Speaker 1: 10 minutes.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I'm exhausted.
- 7:43Speaker 5: You could be watching Slow Horses.
- 7:46Speaker 3: I was having such a good afternoon and you've just
- 7:49Speaker 3: fucked it for me.
- 7:50Speaker 2: The fixer.
- 7:55Speaker 5: Why don't we fix it tomorrow? No, Saturday when I
- 7:58Speaker 5: come around.
- 7:58Speaker 4: You should.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I should. Yeah, sure. And the fact that you're
- 8:01Speaker 1: still paying for it is killing me. It's even killing me.
- 8:04Speaker 2: It's an irritating me too, Moogie. Very, very much so.
- 8:10Speaker 1: One thing I noticed about the ferry here in Japan, right? Oh,
- 8:15Speaker 1: here we go.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Because the ferry was at quarter past two.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Sure.
- 8:21Speaker 5: In Japan, it's leaving at quarter past two. Here, it
- 8:24Speaker 5: arrived at quarter past two. So we didn't leave until
- 8:26Speaker 5: 25 past two. So I was like, oh, I'll be
- 8:29Speaker 5: departing in Auckland at half past, you know, 15 minutes later.
- 8:33Speaker 5: I was departing the ferry in Auckland at like 22
- 8:36Speaker 5: quarter two.
- 8:37Speaker 1: So that's fucking annoying.
- 8:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Generally speaking, just from my experience of the ferry, it's
- 8:43Speaker 3: pretty good on time. Sounds like it was running late.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Maybe it was just running late today. But my experience
- 8:51Speaker 3: has been that pretty, pretty good.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Pretty good?
- 8:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Pretty, pretty good.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Pretty, pretty good.
- 8:55Speaker 1: How was the Waiheke one? Always much for much. I mean, yeah. Yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 1: it's a further distance.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:04Speaker 1: And oftentimes, yeah, it would generally be pretty good. Yes.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I never had any really horrendous experiences with it. No.
- 9:14Speaker 5: I think the Waiheke one's too far to commute every day,
- 9:17Speaker 5: I think, for me personally.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, even if I just worked in the city.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I can't remember how long I was doing that for.
- 9:23Speaker 1: It's like a 45-minute ferry. I know how long the
- 9:26Speaker 1: ferry is, but how long I was doing that for.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Two years? It was a long time, wasn't it?
- 9:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a really long time.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, because you'd eat toasties on the ferry. That's
- 9:33Speaker 1: so good. And then come in here and have Red
- 9:35Speaker 1: Bull and smoked tarts with Jase. I.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I remember it well.
- 9:39Speaker 3: I find– because I used to catch the train back
- 9:42Speaker 3: from work out west for quite a while, and I
- 9:46Speaker 3: really enjoyed that. I found it a really good time
- 9:49Speaker 3: to decompress.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Yes. Are you quite compressed?
- 9:52Speaker 3: And I used to enjoy the walk through the city
- 9:54Speaker 3: down to the train.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Oh, you like walking through the city?
- 9:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it, mate.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Because it's quite it was weird at the time because
- 10:02Speaker 1: our radio, my commute took longer than the radio show. Yes.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yeah, because you then had to get from. Bus. Yeah.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Ferry, wait, walk here, you know, all of that. So
- 10:13Speaker 1: the commute was longer than the show. Chat, chat, chat. Blah, blah, blah. Back, back, back.
- 10:17Speaker 1: It was nice in COVID, wasn't it? We had a
- 10:19Speaker 1: lovely time. We certainly did, fellas. The show's about to start.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yeah, okay.
- 10:23Speaker 1: The live show. Yeah, good stuff. What's the date today?
- 10:27Speaker 4: 29th.
- 10:27Speaker 5: Thursday the 29th, Jase. Hey, listen to the big show,
- 10:30Speaker 5: four to seven weekdays, Radio Hodaki.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Thank you.
