- 0:02This is HBr News number four thirty one, Jezebel is no More, George
- 0:08Orwell is Finally Canceled, where we discuss the news of the week and give
- 0:12it the Badger treatment. Hello everybody, and welcome to Honey Badger Radio.
- 0:19I hope you guys are doing well this week and that you're laughing all of
- 0:21this absurdity so that you are not consumed by it. I am your host,
- 0:25Brian Martinez, and I'm joined by, as always, my lovely co
- 0:28hosts Mike Jay, Hannah Wallin and doctor Ranimercam. And we have a great
- 0:33show line up for you guys today, so please be sure to continue the
- 0:36conversations both in the chat as well as the comments section. On this week's
- 0:40HBr News show. We're going to be talking about the latest news of Jezebel
- 0:45finally closing its doors, shutting down and what that might mean, as well
- 0:50as I guess there we're also layoffs in related media. Just put it that
- 0:55way, a woman is saved from a mugger by a good guy with a
- 0:59gun, but laments it. George Orwell is considered problematic and more so,
- 1:04stick around. It's gonna be a good time. And be sure to join
- 1:07us afterwards for the Patron Only Show. So you guys might have heard that
- 1:12the latest outing of strong female characters in the in the in the world of
- 1:21film has well it basically went belly up. The Marvels, which was released
- 1:26last week, is essentially the biggest failure in all of the history. Nobody
- 1:34went to see it. Very underwhelming box office, but that doesn't stop some
- 1:38really intellectually like powerful people like Stephen King from essentially taking jabs at the fan
- 1:47base for not giving their hard earned dollars to a movie that apparently exists to
- 1:53make them feel like crap about themselves. So he's asking that people stop gloating
- 1:59over the failure at the box office. You know, I thought that we
- 2:01were against like these gigantic, multi billion dollar corporations making money, but I
- 2:07guess it's okay as long as they're you know, providing us with the message.
- 2:14So anyway, we're gonna be reading this in the Patriot Only Show.
- 2:16If you would like to join us in the Patron Only Show, you have
- 2:19to become a Badger yourself by going to feed the Badger dot com and setting

- 2:39noticed that, you know, oh yeah, she's really really new and just
- 2:45now getting into it. So you know, maybe if you're interested, maybe

- 3:09to wake up one morning to find that we have been yeeded from the mainstream
- 3:14big tech Internet, then go to badger feed dot com. That's badgerfeed dot
- 3:20com. All right, With all of that out of the way, we
- 3:23are going to get ourselves stuck into the stories, and we are starting with
- 3:29Jezebel. Rip F's in the chat for Jezebel. Okay, Mike Jay,
- 3:34I'm gonna hand it over to you. Well, thank you, Brian.
- 3:38So. As many of you may have heard, American media holding company Go
- 3:44Media, famous for running such publications as Kottaku, Deadspin, and The Root,
- 3:51have announced that they are suspending a publication of online that feminist magazine a
- 3:57Jezebel. The suspension comes amid turmoil from the world of online media during twenty
- 4:02twenty three, as many companies have either closed their doors or engaged in brutal
- 4:09rounds of layoffs and firings. Other outlets that have been shown it like so
- 4:14many feminist projects, all it ever was was following the path of least resistance,
- 4:19which is always step one simp for women, Step two question mark,
- 4:25step three profit. And it turns out step two is get sky hooked by
- 4:30a larger company with more money than Sensor, or a larger company with more
- 4:35ideological tunnel vision than money, such as the likes of Gorka and this Geo
- 4:43thing that bailed them out, and Gorka took a hull Cogan flying clothesline to
- 4:49the knee as one the point is. There's there's the reason Jezebel had to
- 4:57die. While Honey Badger Radio and Advice for Men, the nemesisse are still
- 5:05going strong and will continue to go strong for a long time because we have
- 5:11a slow but steady force that was founded by volunteers and is maintained by volunteers
- 5:16and paid for by volunteers. No paycheck of any size can motivate a grifter
- 5:25as much as the truth can motivate a critical mass of reasonably stubborn individuals with
- 5:30no fucks left give. That's why we call it grassroots. It doesn't grow
- 5:36very tall, but it's capable of growing everywhere wherever it grows it. Hello,
- 5:48Mike, did we lose Mike? I think we did. Will not
- 5:56grow back briefly. Yeah, now you're you're cutting out a little bit?
- 6:05Is it? Is it a noise robot to me? I guess robot ship.
- 6:12Well yeah, you sound fine to us. But it might be on
- 6:15your end. Maybe the internet thing. Yeah, it might be an Internet.
- 6:19I'm looking at my Internet. It looks fine, so it must be.
- 6:23He's probably something I'm down on a little bit. I'm bound bandwidth.
- 6:27I will say this. Jezebel is not alone, all right. I like
- 6:31to find crazy things in feminist publications for for my after shows as much as
- 6:36I can. You know that we could laugh at them when we're reading,
- 6:40because you know who thinks that way and stuff. And I used to be
- 6:45able to go to a whole bunch of very classic, longstanding feminist blogs,
- 6:53and in the last three or four years they have all stopped publication. Jezebel
- 7:00is just the latest one, and UH, to me, it's it's sort
- 7:04of bittersweet. It's it's definitely something to celebrate, not in a there.
- 7:09You know, they're not being censored. People just aren't bothering to to go
- 7:14to their sites. They're not being read there. Nobody cares what they have
- 7:16to say, like their their vision is not shared. And that's not censorship.
- 7:23That's people having a different perspective than them and disagreeing with them and and
- 7:30not having an interest in in theirs. And that's perfectly fine, right.
- 7:35The only sad thing about it is who are we going to laugh at when
- 7:39they're gone? You know, because I don't really wanna. I don't want
- 7:44to resort to to reading David Foutrell in in the UH in the after shows.
- 7:53That's that's that's like I don't know, digging through dog shit to find
- 7:58the corn. It's it's just I suppose that's an insult to dog shit.
- 8:05And he'll be around even after they're gone, because I don't think he gets
- 8:07paid. I think he just is obsessive, so it might be all that's
- 8:13left. Well, that's that's why I appreciate David if you tell, because
- 8:18he is. He's grassroots as well as as fucking playless and as much of
- 8:22a liar and bullshittery is. He's going to be there. But Jezebel will
- 8:28not grow back like yeah, I mean, some other bizarre tropical plant will
- 8:35be mass produced to have some other experimental psycho botanical laboratory, and that too
- 8:43will eventually die because they can't afford to feed it anymore. That's this is
- 8:48how the tortoise wins, because the race in question is not to any given
- 8:54finish line. There is no given finish line. It's a race of endurance.
- 9:00It's how far you can make it before you crash and burn, And
- 9:05like every fable, it's on a scale larger than analogized, on an evolutionary
- 9:09scale. The hair just squirted into existence relatively recently, and it's only a
- 9:16matter of time before overbreathes itself to death. Whereas the tortoise has been hobbling
- 9:22around for millions of years, and it'll keep going strong. Even when all
- 9:26the humans are dead and they have new top of all life and earth,
- 9:31there'll be a few tortoises who are hiding in a cave and doing a podcast
- 9:37until it all blows over. They are the meek who will inherit the earth.
- 9:43Folks. You might have thought that Bible passage was about the Jews,
- 9:46but I like to think it was about the MRAs. You'd be surprised how
- 9:52long we've been around in some form or other. You just haven't noticed us.
- 9:56That's how we survive, by being unnoticed and camouflaged until the day comes
- 10:01that we springing into action. So yeah, good, ridden's Jezebel Yaboo talks
- 10:07to be you kiss my sweatd butt crack you whan kiss yours, sincerely the
- 10:13Meek. I guess the only thing I wanted to say to this is that
- 10:20Jezebel was originally part of the Gawker Media network, and after like Mike said,
- 10:28Hulk Hogan sued the pants off of them. I don't know what happened
- 10:31to Nick Denton, but I know that he's still out there doing stuff.
- 10:35Jezebel was then picked up by another company, along with the Route and others,
- 10:43and now Jezebel is going to be closing its doors. Now there is
- 10:46definitely cause for celebration because it means that people generally are not interested in the
- 10:54hateful messaging that Jezebel puts out. They are literal propagandists. This is what
- 11:00they exist for. However, it's also you know, worth pointing out that
- 11:05Jezebel was bailed out when Gawker got sued, and now they're closing, But
- 11:09somebody else might bail them out, so Jezebel might reappear, maybe under a
- 11:15different name, maybe under the same name but owned by a different company.
- 11:18Or all of the people who write for Jezebel have they're going to go on
- 11:24to write for places like The Guardian and Slate, and or they're going to
- 11:30join activist groups like you know, Democracy Now or whatever it is. They
- 11:37may just go and make the Marry Sue bigger, because the Mary Sue is
- 11:41still an extremely you know, popular force to be reckoned with I'm still hopeful
- 11:48because really what it comes down to is like these things can happen to these
- 11:52websites, but as long as these websites have an audience, then they can
- 11:58kind of sustain. What might happen maybe is that maybe the Mary Sue will
- 12:03see a bunch of new people, maybe a lot of the people that wrote
- 12:07for Jezebel also wrote for the Mary Sue or any other number of feminists or
- 12:11you know, far left websites or whatever you want to call it, because
- 12:15there really isn't that much difference honestly between the Mary Sue, Jezebel, the
- 12:20Guardian, you know, most of Medium, dot com and stuff like that.
- 12:26So I, I, you know, I'm glad. It's good.
- 12:30It means that public opinion is definitely like being reflected, you could say,
- 12:35in where people decide to invest their clicks. But I, you know,
- 12:41it's just important to note that these people don't disappear when their websites close down.
- 12:46They just kind of like, you know, they go and do other
- 12:50things. Maybe they'll get jobs in government, maybe they'll go work on you
- 12:52know, campaigns or whatever it is. So you know, well, obviously
- 12:58I haven't seen the last one because the problem is the idea itself. And
- 13:01also just like the last thing is, you know, the there was some
- 13:05recent data I know we've talked about on the show before that the Zoomers and
- 13:09the Alphas, the generation Alpha men and women are further apart politically than they
- 13:16have been in previous generations, and that what that means is the women are
- 13:20moving further left or more feminist, and the men are moving away from that.
- 13:26I wouldn't even say they're moving right, They're just moving away from that.
- 13:28And so if it's true that that young girls that are growing up in
- 13:33this you know, still extremely feminist society, in a very feminist education system
- 13:41and media and everything, if they're still like moving in that direction, then
- 13:46they will probably be the new Jezebel or Mary Sue. At some point in
- 13:52the future. We'll probably see that as a research assuming that that is true,
- 13:56you know, so we will see I do I do. I still
- 14:01think it's good news, but I would just say, you know, it
- 14:05certainly is far from over in my opinion. So does anybody else have any
- 14:11thoughts on this before we move on to the next story. It just it'll
- 14:16be interesting to see because this does create a void. It'll be interesting to
- 14:20see if anything does come forward to fill the void. I never trust the
- 14:24media when they tell us this the this whole generation is doing this, or
- 14:28this whole generation is doing that, because I mean, look what they said
- 14:33about gen X when we were in our thirties, and we had a percentage
- 14:41of gen X that were slow starters and a whole bunch of gen X that
- 14:46were actually doing very well and not being mentioned in media at all. So
- 14:48it may be that there's a bigger contingent of girls in gen Z that are
- 14:56non feminists than they want to admit. And is the feminist media reporting on
- 15:01this? So yeah, you know, yeah again you know. And another
- 15:07thing too, you know. We talked a little bit about the Marvels on
- 15:11yesterday's Patron Show, and I mentioned that these films these feminist This feminist media,
- 15:18we're talking about a broader thing here, ye, feminist media itself.
- 15:22If it doesn't do well in theaters, it doesn't really affect the people who
- 15:28made the film that much because there are very rich and powerful investors that are
- 15:33going to pay them anyway, because they want the content out there, because
- 15:37they're trying to socially engineer, you know, our society, in particular the
- 15:43girls. So even if the film flops, they're going to consider it a
- 15:48cultural success, like in terms of like the impact. And they've said said
- 15:54as much. There's plenty of examples. I think Sana Amanat who was you
- 15:58know know, like she was like one of the executives over at Marvel Comics,
- 16:03but more importantly, she was a very close friend of the Obamas and
- 16:08an activist. She said that, you know, when people are asking her,
- 16:12are you worried about these sales? And she said, It's not about
- 16:15sales, it's about cultural impact. So they know that this is that the
- 16:21ultimate goal has nothing to do with whether or not what they're doing is profitable,
- 16:25because there are people who make a lot of money that just give them,
- 16:27they just pay them. And that's another thing too, is they're planning
- 16:30on cutting out the market completely and just you know, putting these things in
- 16:34libraries for example. So they never had an interest in being a part of
- 16:40a you know, I guess you could call it a free market because it
- 16:45won't have an impact on that their their products won't impact the culture in the
- 16:52way that they want, and that this is yeah, go ahead. They
- 16:56think that if they say something is true enough times for enough for enough time,
- 17:02that it will become true, or that at least people won't understand that
- 17:07it's not anymore. And I think they also think that if they push this
- 17:11stuff enough and they make it the only thing that you have access to,
- 17:17that it'll change your beliefs, that you'll it'll move the over ten window.
- 17:22It's you've got two groups of people trying to move the overten window window,
- 17:26right. You've got people like us that are are doing it, you know,
- 17:30through a grassroots movement where we're talking to other people, you know,
- 17:33individually and in live streams like this and so on, and having conversations on
- 17:41social media with people who go out and have conversations with others on social media,
- 17:47and opinion changes that way, based on the sharing of evidence, based
- 17:51on you know, this is one of the reasons why they want control over
- 17:53social media. They want to be able to say that backtracking you, you
- 17:59know, when when they're actually posting propaganda in response to your facts and so
- 18:03on. The other the other way is from the top down, and that's
- 18:07by making the ability to see things that are contrary to their propaganda impossible,
- 18:18Like they take away everything that contradicts their propaganda, and they're in the process
- 18:23of doing that right now. That's why you see all these different movies and
- 18:27everything. So money doesn't really matter to them, even like the if they
- 18:33are getting no play, say with the gen Z girls, because if if
- 18:38gen Z girls were really all feminist, they would be dying to see these
- 18:42movies. They would be dragging their boyfriends. You gotta can't be to see
- 18:45this movie, yeah, you know, And and there would be there would
- 18:48be a lot more because they're they're being pushed in feminist media, right,
- 18:56there would be a lot more profit going on, right if it was all
- 19:00so there is there may be a bigger contingent of them than there were of
- 19:04gen X, or that there are than there are currently of gen X.
- 19:08But I think there were more gen xers who were feminists when we were in
- 19:14high school and college than there are now too, because people grow up and
- 19:18they realize that feminism is stupid and dishonest. Yeah, So all in all,
- 19:25all of that, like things like Jezebel, things like these, these
- 19:29movies that are designed to propaganda as your entertainment and everything ultimately by themselves.
- 19:37They cannot achieve what they're trying to achieve, and ultimately they are going to
- 19:42take companies down with them in their effort to do that. But don't don't
- 19:47expect it to happen next week. Well, no, of course not.
- 19:49And I wanted to add to what you're saying about the movies. So the
- 19:52Marvels most of the people, even though it was a gigantic flop, the
- 19:56biggest flop in all of the MCU's history, the majority of people who watched
- 20:00it, of those who did go, were still men. So it was
- 20:03still mostly men. So women aren't They weren't turning out for that Mainly.
- 20:08I think it's because it's not their cup of tea in terms of like the
- 20:11type of film. They just don't want to see that kind of movie.
- 20:15But they do want to see feminist content because Barbie made over a billion dollars,
- 20:22so there is a kind of film that girls will turn out. Yeah,
- 20:27I'm I'm so sure Barbie made that much money because it was feminist.
- 20:32Well, I think it made that much money because it was Barbie. Possibly,
- 20:36possibly, but see, because Barbie also has a it's got its own
- 20:41following, and to the degree that older barbiees are expensive and and never removed
- 20:48from the box and things like that in the same way that actions people are.
- 20:52Yeah, so I think that the thing is I would agree if it
- 20:56was like one of those things where the first the opening weekend is really and
- 21:00then there's a drop off. But there wasn't. It just kept it kept
- 21:03up its momentum. And I went to the theater to see something else and
- 21:07there are all these girls dressed up to see Barbie, and they were talking
- 21:11about Barbie. And when you look at what went viral from the film,
- 21:15it's this rant about how hard it is to be a woman in like,
- 21:18you know, the best time in all of human history. That's what the
- 21:21takeaway is. So that whether they're feminist or not, even I've even seen
- 21:27non feminist libertarian women do that, and all the women in the audience will
- 21:33cheer because they they do hold that sort of martyrdom self martyrdom narrative. But
- 21:42it wasn't a matter of if theist was never Yeah, if it's a word
- 21:51feminist was never used with regard to Barbie, and feminists had not pushed the
- 21:55message and all of that, that would still be popular. That's kind of
- 21:59a guy. A centrism thing more than a feminism thing. It's women are
- 22:04solapsistic, right, Yeah, And I don't know that necessarily they would come
- 22:10along and say, well, because we're we're solipsistic, we also agree with
- 22:17everything else that feminists are doing. And I think a lot of women that
- 22:21will stand around and tell you how hard it is to be a woman would
- 22:23still get outraged over Like if they read the seven Years in Hell story,
- 22:27they would be like, that bitch needs to go down. You know,
- 22:30why is she doing that to that guy? It makes the rest of us
- 22:33look bad? But yeah, it's still it's still a behavior among women,
- 22:38and it's feminist influenced. No, this wasn't botha This was not the first
- 22:44Barbie film by a long shot. There's a shitload of Barbie films. This
- 22:47was just its own unique, weird thing in Barbie. There are Barbie cartoon
- 22:53films, there are other Barbie live action films. It's a huge, huge
- 22:59thing. Actually, you probably won't find very many little girls in the United
- 23:04States that don't have at least one Barbie doll, if not more. You
- 23:11know, like I had barbiees when I was a kid. Mine were a
- 23:15little different, but I did have barbiees. Yeah, they looked like something
- 23:19out of Mad Max. Well we're digressing a little bit. But we're digressing
- 23:25a bit. But I want to let Mike Jay say what he was going
- 23:26to say. I was just gonna say. I think we were on two
- 23:30separate internets when the Barbie movie dropped, because I wasn't seeing anything about the
- 23:36girl power moment. I was it was twenty four to seven energy from emanating
- 23:41from the Kennethno States. Yeah, I saw that remixes and stuff. I
- 23:47saw that that is the meme. That is the meme that will outlive the
- 23:51movie. I you know, I think that's right. But I'm all I'm
- 23:56saying is that normy women. This is very not people who meme on the
- 24:00internet. Normy women that saw that movie. The message at the end is
- 24:06the takeaway. It's everything. It's everything, and I don't know why,
- 24:10like it's it's obvious to me. But but this is not about that I'm
- 24:15talking about. We're talking about Jezebel, and I think that there is a
- 24:18link. So but I'm gonna read I got some super chow. I got
- 24:22a super chow. Before you get into that, I will say this.
- 24:25Yeah, the thing that you said, the hard to be a woman rant
- 24:32Kat Temp who is a libertarian commentator, that is on I think the not
- 24:40the five the Great Gutfeld Show on Yeah, I haven't watched Fox in a
- 24:47while, but she went on a rant like that before The Barbie movie was
- 24:53a thing, sure, and it got cheered and played it. I mean
- 25:00I saw people playing clips of it on Twitter all over the place and everything,
- 25:04and it was all stuff that women do to each other. But she
- 25:07didn't say that. She was just you know, this is why it's hard
- 25:12to be a woman, and it was all about your looks and all about
- 25:15you have to do nothing you can do being right and all that kind of
- 25:18thing. She's not entirely wrong in that those things happen to women, but
- 25:23they are. They are things that only happen to women. If other women's
- 25:27opinions matter to us, like other women do that to me, and I
- 25:33don't care, they can go fuck off, right right, So, but
- 25:37it is a thing. You're right that it is a thing, and it
- 25:41is something that if they're susceptible to it, girls will latch onto it.
- 25:48And it is an inroad for feminism. Yeah, sure, It starts with
- 25:56I'm a victim of something, and that's what I'm that's what it feels.
- 26:00It feels better to be a victim than it does to work hard. Yeah,
- 26:03avoid, Yeah, victim. It's a very it's a very short trip.
- 26:08But okay, but I really got to move on. So I got
- 26:11a super chow from Meredith G top G. She gives us five dollars and
- 26:15says HBO News four thirty one honey for the Badgers. Jezebel was the useful
- 26:19idiot of a bigger media enterprise that sought to divide us. The problem was
- 26:23there was a glut on the market of this crap. Think of this as
- 26:26a market correction. Uh, yes, thank you for that, and I
- 26:34I, well, yeah, I mean there's like, the thing is,
- 26:37you don't even need to be in a website that is explicitly feminist, like
- 26:41on its phase, you know, to be a feminist website. Like I
- 26:45said, look at most websites, whether they say it or not, they're
- 26:51kind of like you know, most of the time they're towing that line.
- 26:53But this is still a win. I will take it. I will take
- 26:56the w because it's gone and we are still here. So I guess that
- 27:02stands for something. But anyway, thank you, Meredith. I'm going to
- 27:07I don't think I got any other superchows, so we're going to oh wait
- 27:14something, did something else come through? I just got a bloop? No,
- 27:15I didn't, Okay, so we're gonna move on to the next story.
- 27:21Let us know what you guys think of this one in the comments,
- 27:25and uh yeah, let's let's take a look at the next thing. This
- 27:30is an interesting story that we've talked about a little bit. Let me put
- 27:33it on the screen here. Okay, So a woman you guys probably heard
- 27:40about this. A woman was being harassed by a homeless man in New York
- 27:44City subway station when a stranger used his gun to stop her from being mugged.
- 27:49Subway vigilante John Wrote watched as Matthew Roche allegedly made moves to snatch that
- 27:56woman's bag, Wrote, whipped out the firearms and allegedly fired several rounds across
- 28:02the subway. So like a warning shot, I guess, while warning the
- 28:04would be mugger to leave the woman alone. The forty year old woman,
- 28:08who did not want to be identified, told the New York Post, of
- 28:12course, I am happy that that man tried to help me and that nobody
- 28:17was injured during the incident. But it's scary to think that people are carrying
- 28:22guns around the city. I understand why people do it. They see it
- 28:25as their only means of protection. From The New York Post quote, Rhade
- 28:30was seen in surveillance footage casually pulling the handgun from his bag and aiming it
- 28:34at the scuffle before shouting, get the f away from her. It all
- 28:40happened within seconds. It didn't FaZe the homeless man. He continued to say,
- 28:44give me money, Give me money. The woman said. That's when
- 28:48Roe allegedly shot the second time and continued yelling at Roche to back away from
- 28:52his victim. Roche finally stalled, giving the woman the chance to run away.
- 28:56Roche was then arrested after police arrived from the scene and charge him with
- 29:00attempted robbery. Wrote this is the guy with the gun who has no prior
- 29:04arrests. Was arrested the following day after an anonymous tipster recognize him on the
- 29:10surveillance footage. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession
- 29:15of a firearm, and reckless endangerment. And menacing. Menacing. NYPD sources
- 29:22said they don't think wrote was aiming at the vagrant and was just trying to
- 29:26scare him off. In this case, the man risks a lot to protect
- 29:30me, his safety and the safety of other people on the platform. Yes,
- 29:34I do think he is a hero, but I don't know. I
- 29:37would likely think him a bigger hero if he tried to help me without the
- 29:41gun. In my eyes, the gun is a little extreme. It was
- 29:45a very dangerous situation. Anything could have happened, the woman said. The
- 29:48MTA and the NYPD aren't doing much to protect the public, but it's very
- 29:53dangerous. They're also very defunded. There are many incidents where weapons were involved
- 29:59in did badly. Honestly, I am against people carrying weapons with them around
- 30:03the city, she said. If we're talking if we're talking risk, if
- 30:10we're talking risk versus safety, then you have to consider how to translate this
- 30:15into the experience of the man doing the the whole, the whole saving you
- 30:21from the criminal, little miss whoever you are. That seems to be what
- 30:27what you're doing. What you're doing, namely, imagining that any given man
- 30:32also needs to be concerned about his own safety in the process of selflessly attending
- 30:38to your own safety. Why was this man confident enough with his own safety
- 30:45in this situation. It's because he had a gun. The criminal in question
- 30:51may have had a knife, probably did have a knife, And there is
- 30:53no safe way to bring a knife to a knife fight. You must bring
- 30:59this up within malay range. There's no safe way to bring fists to a
- 31:03fist fight or else being equal for the same reason. And there's certainly no
- 31:08safe way to bring a knife to a gunfight, as per the cliche.
- 31:14But you may have deducted, dear listener, how the other combination works.
- 31:18Bringing a gun to a knife fight gives the best odds you can possibly get
- 31:25as long as you're comfortably behind and beyond Melay range, and assuming the opponent
- 31:32in question is not on PCP. In this case, you better get a
- 31:37headshot in as quickly as possible and then hope for the best. If it
- 31:41really is about safety, then this really is one of those situations where a
- 31:47gun is the safest option to prevent violence. A ranged weapon avoids combat where
- 31:56otherwise it would be unavoidable. It's just that so many people are scared of
- 32:02guns because they've swallowed this idea that people don't kill people guns do. So
- 32:07it doesn't matter that there's a person robbing you right here, right now without
- 32:14a gun. There could be someone raping you and murdering you right now without
- 32:19a gun, and you wouldn't find it as scary as the guy trying to
- 32:22save your life with a gun. Far too many people don't appreciate weapons until
- 32:29the moment weapons save their lives, just like they don't appreciate the police until
- 32:35the moment the police save their lives. This is a statistically unlikely event to
- 32:40happen to any given person, of course, so you can see why so
- 32:45many people go their whole lives blissfully unaware yet factuously opposed to those who might
- 32:52guard them at night. But it's an extra kick in the teeth when someone,
- 33:00even after a gun saves their life or even just save the handbag,
- 33:05and they still don't learn to appreciate the technology and the male selflessness that actually
- 33:12gives them the safety that they take for granted every day, Like that's seriously,
- 33:21don't bother my brothers. Honestly, if you're on the bad end of
- 33:23a fifty to fifty chance that the woman you're trying to help not only doesn't
- 33:30want your help, but will actively reject it. You might even categorize you
- 33:34as just another male villain who wants to oppress her just as much as the
- 33:38scumbag in the process of robbing it. Like, don't even get involved,
- 33:43my dude, it's very probably not worth it just putting out that. I
- 33:46realize. I realize civilization on the whole requires good samaritans like this in order
- 33:52to even have order. But there's only so much you can do, especially
- 34:00when it's not appreciated. Approach with caution is the advice in a nutshell.
- 34:06Just like when when you approach a criminal, make sure your weapon is longer
- 34:10range than their weapon, when you approach a woman, make sure her arrogance
- 34:16is not longer range than your patience. It's it's it's a judgment call on
- 34:22an individual basis. Best of like gentlemen above all, avoid the leftist city
- 34:30shitholes where these kinds of crimes constantly happen. Then it's it's not even remotely
- 34:37your problem. Live enjoy yourself, to drink waffles and eat beer or whatever.
- 34:46I guarantee you it's not just her arrogance. That you have to watch
- 34:50out for. I guarantee you this woman is profoundly ignorant in terms of interpersonal
- 34:57violence. I will bet you she grew up in a neighborhood where the kids
- 35:00get into fights with each other by yelling across the street, you can't come
- 35:05into my apartment anymore, because they probably don't have yards. They're in New
- 35:09York. There are no yards left in New York. Yes, not the
- 35:14city anyway. But I'm sure that she probably never duked it out with another
- 35:21kid over anything when she was growing up. And I will bet you that
- 35:27she never saw the boys in her neighborhood do it either. She probably grew
- 35:30up in a nice, little middle class Namby Pamby. Nobody gets into a
- 35:37fight, everybody gets in trouble if anybody in the class misbehaves badly kind of
- 35:43neighborhood and school system. And so she doesn't understand what happens during in her
- 35:49personal violence and how fast it happens, and how scary it is in the
- 35:54moment, and how quickly it can get out of your control, even if
- 35:59you start out having the upper hand, right. She doesn't know any of
- 36:02those things. And so this is why when a woman starts trying to talk
- 36:07you down in terms of here you are handling a situation where someone is being
- 36:14aggressive with you and you are defending, or where you are protecting somebody from
- 36:17an aggressor, that you need to be gentle with your aggressor. Like,
- 36:23no, don't listen to that. That's bullshit. She doesn't know what she's
- 36:27talking about. She's an idiot, she's ignorant, and her advice is going
- 36:32to get you killed. That's the first thing I will point out about this.
- 36:36The second thing is, I will bet you she voted to defund police.
- 36:45I will bet you that she is one of those liberal minded All things
- 36:51the cops do is wrong. All of the people in jail just had a
- 36:54rough life and no ill intent to go with it. And there's nothing wrong
- 37:00with just stopping law enforcement altogether. Kind of people. Until she had to
- 37:07deal with you know this this bullshit experience. And by the way, there
- 37:14is a very very important clue in the experience that should tell everybody why this
- 37:22guy needed the gun in that moment. Right, If you can point a
- 37:25gun at somebody and they still keep coming at you after they see the barrel
- 37:29of the gun pointing in their direction. There is something wrong with that person.
- 37:35That is some of the scariest shit you will ever see happen to you,
- 37:37having somebody point a gun at you and you stop what you're doing.
- 37:44You freeze when someone points a gun at you. Unless there is something wrong
- 37:47with you. You have to either be a little crazy or high on something
- 37:53and no longer in control of your faculties and no longer able to judge how
- 38:00much danger you are in in that moment. And when you fire a warning
- 38:07shot and someone keeps coming, that person is really fucked up. So dealing
- 38:13with that person hand to hand would be just about the stupidest choice you could
- 38:17make. And that's what this woman was advising this guy to do. So
- 38:22not only is she probably ignorant and probably sheltered and probably voted for this shit,
- 38:30but she's ignorant enough to get someone killed, and she would have if
- 38:37she had been able to control that guy's actions. And you know, whoever
- 38:40ever turned him in is a piece of shit, really, But when it
- 38:46comes down to it, this fulfills one of the predictions that I made when
- 38:51they started with the defund the police thing. I told you guys, the
- 38:55point of defunding the police was to get women to start complaining that the police
- 39:04aren't enforcing right. That's the point. Was to get women to start criticizing
- 39:09men and asking for more enforcement, asking for more cops, asking for more
- 39:16government control. And what happened here she lamented the guy helping her having a
- 39:24gun and then suggested that it should have been handled by police. You're going
- 39:31to see more of that, Yep, that's the goal. Now. That's
- 39:36not to say that you should be engaging in vigilantism because it's not your job.
- 39:42You don't have to do it, and as you can see here,
- 39:44it's not appreciated. But be ready when people women in particular start going one
- 39:53hundred and eighty degrees in the other direction and want to go back past where
- 39:58we were before with over policing to even more over policing, in a backlash
- 40:05against what's happening now, because that's coming, except that it's going to be
- 40:12federal. Oh that's yeah, it'll be federal. It was in the nineties.
- 40:16Bill Clinton did that in the nineties in response to this exact same kind
- 40:21of flip flop. So, I mean, we're going to see it again,
- 40:24only it's going to be more mm hm, oh boy, I've got
- 40:30some Yeah, I was gonna say, I'm sure Mike Jay has something to
- 40:34say. Okay, go ahead. I am going to take a bit of
- 40:37an interesting stance here. The woman is probably the least egregious person in this
- 40:44story, aside from the I'm not going to make any bones about it,
- 40:47Aside from the hero who attempted to do the right thing. Like she acknowledges
- 40:55he's a hero. She acknowledges that a man risked his life to protect her.
- 41:01She does have a stupid stance on guns. But then again, she
- 41:05probably has lived in New York her entire life. I would be very surprised
- 41:08if she had any other opinion on the subject. And of course she does
- 41:14live in a delusional law law land of well, you know, you just
- 41:17stand up and fistfight the guy, and the Mortal Kombat music starts playing,
- 41:21and you know, the first to two rounds wins, and you know you
- 41:25press Danza on up square right, right, right, you get a fatality.
- 41:30But yeah, just on so many levels, like yes, I would
- 41:35rather this scumbag who rated out again a man who did tried to do the
- 41:42right thing in the right circumstance. I wish he wouldn't exist or would not
- 41:46do this. I wish that this man would not be arrested. The only
- 41:53police escort this man should be getting is to receive the fucking key to the
- 41:58city, be a small parade for his efforts. You know, I wish
- 42:04that there would not be deranged homeless people walking the streets doing this to people
- 42:10who again have like absolutely no sense of fear of death. I mean,
- 42:19when a fucking NPC and grand theft auto has better survival instincts than you do,
- 42:25you got some fucking problems. And of course I wish that that could
- 42:34be a state where carrying a weapon around with you and looking out for your
- 42:39fellow man would be the norm and not you know, something that is so
- 42:45unthinkable that you get arrested for doing it. But yeah, as Hannah touched
- 42:53on, this is seemingly what these people voted for, and this is seemingly
- 42:58what they're willing to put up with. Like so many people came out to
- 43:05say when that guy got arrested for choking out that crazy guy on the subway,
- 43:10just oh well, that's just living in New York, you know,
- 43:13That's just what you expect that's just the norm. And I hate to say
- 43:20it, but I don't think we can start helping these people until they decide
- 43:22to help themselves. Shit them all like God saw them that. That's what
- 43:25I say. Yeah, well said that's Hannah. Yeah. I mean,
- 43:35you know. In nineteen eighty six, my family went to visit New York
- 43:37City, and I was excited to go because I've never been any place that
- 43:43urban in my life. The community we were coming from had like, at
- 43:49that point, maybe ten thousand people in it, right, And we were
- 43:52going to New York City that had millions and that was just the coolest thing
- 43:57in the world. And we did and it was great. Right. You
- 44:00couldn't pay me to go there. Now, I wouldn't want to. Even
- 44:08like I was at the airport there for for a layover, I would I
- 44:15didn't even look out the window, and it's it's been that way for quite
- 44:20a while. I wouldn't want to go to New York now because of ship
- 44:25like this being normal and the way people behave about it. They might say
- 44:31the same thing about Dayton, Ohio. But it just I don't think it's
- 44:38that bad here. It's not great. There are things wrong here, but
- 44:44jeez, New York, that's normal here, San Francisco at least, Seattle,
- 44:50Chicago, Baltimore. They're all absolute, like objectively worse it is to
- 45:01be a person. If that happened here in Date we don't have a subway,
- 45:05But if that happened here in Dayton, anywhere in Dayton where it was
- 45:10public place, that person wouldn't be arrested, you know, unless they were
- 45:16violating the law about having a gun too close to a school or something,
- 45:21that person wouldn't be arrested. And then there's it's it's legal here to carry
- 45:27a gun as it is here. Well again, I mean, I think
- 45:34everything that was going to be said about this has been said, So thanks
- 45:38guys for great points. I'm just looking to see if I miss any super
- 45:42childs or anything. No, I did not. If you guys want to
- 45:45send us a super child with your thoughts on this, you know, you
- 45:49know, it's just feedabadgel dot com force last, just a tip or you
- 45:52can put in a rumble rant, a super chat or whatever. You know,
- 45:57you whatever suits your bloats your boat as it were. So anyway,
- 46:01guys, obviously the moral is, I guess, don't be a hero like
- 46:07they don't they don't appreciate it. Sometimes people just have to like get a
- 46:13taste of the potential consequences before they start changing their tune. So yeah,
- 46:17I mean, you know, I'm not gonna go into it too much,
- 46:21but I've I spoke to a woman much older than me and the topic of
- 46:24guns came up, and she was just like, why do Because she wasn't
- 46:29from America, so she's like, why do you guys have to have guns?
- 46:31Why is it so important? And like it's you're making your you don't
- 46:37understand and tell you about this thing that happened about two hundred and fifty years
- 46:39ago. Revolution. Yeah, Like basically though, the main thrust of what
- 46:45I'm getting at is is that some people, and I think mostly it's women.
- 46:49I don't know why, they think that if only we just didn't have
- 46:52guns, there would be no more crime, you know, Like there's this
- 46:57idea like if we didn't have them, then nobody could shoot anybody. Is
- 47:00like, but we do, Like, you have to live in the real
- 47:02world. This is the real world. This ship is minor aside here.
- 47:07I have the perfect thing to to illustrate this. The other day, I
- 47:14was out and about with a relative and we had to go back to our
- 47:17house for some reason. And uh, we saw just walking along the street
- 47:23a coyote and it looked really skinny, a little bit mangy. It wasn't
- 47:29doing anything weird, but it was out in broad daylight by itself, so
- 47:34there's a lot of warning signs right there about rabies. Yeah. Again,
- 47:37wasn't doing anything sketch, but just just going through the place. And we
- 47:40both looked at it and waited for him to get out of you know,
- 47:45eyesight, to get out, and I hopped out, and I came back
- 47:47with my handgun and I put it in a glove box. And my relative,
- 47:52who is you know, a very very conservative to a supporters, like
- 47:59why do you need that? Mm hmm, And I said, well,
- 48:02I don't know if you just remembered what happened, but a skinny, mangy
- 48:07coyote is wandering around in broad daylight. And also it's legal here. Yeah,
- 48:15of course, nothing came of it, nothing happened. Didn't have to
- 48:19you know, shoot shoot any coyote. But better to have it not need
- 48:23it than to need it not happen. Yep, It's very simple, but
- 48:30really just don't live in reality anyway. We're gonna move on to the next
- 48:32story. Let us know what you guys think about this one in the comments.
- 48:36Uh, all right, that's Mike. It looks like we were We
- 48:39got time to do this next one before you have to take off. So
- 48:43we're gonna talk about the students that was suspended or saying the unsayable. I
- 48:47guess I don't. I don't really know. It seems to be yeah,
- 48:51so close, worse worse, except it's it's not a not a person,
- 48:57it's a place. Oh boy. So, after going viral on social media,
- 49:02a southern California high school student's suspension and the reason for it have been
- 49:08confirmed is real. Newport mesa Unified assistant superintendent to Carrie Torres, has confirmed
- 49:17that an unnamed student will be suspended from school starting November thirteenth for three days
- 49:24for the crime of saying free Palestine to another student. The suspension, noticed
- 49:34that initially went viral on social media, mirrors the confirmation and adds a slight
- 49:38more bit of context. It reads, quote, the incident that caused this
- 49:44suspension happened as follows, name redacted said threatening remarks to a young lady in
- 49:51class, he said, free Palestine. End quote. In an unconfirmed post,
- 49:59a woman on social med media claiming to be the suspended student's relative claimed
- 50:04that the student only said what he said after being called a terrorist by the
- 50:08young lady, and that he had been harassed due to his Palestinian heritage by
- 50:14other students in the past. She further claims that this harassment was made known
- 50:19to the principle, but nothing happened as a result. District spokesperson Annette Franco
- 50:25said in a statement on the matter. Quote Newport Mesa Unified will not tolerate
- 50:30hateful speech in our schools, especially not hate speech that incites others to engage
- 50:35in negative behavior. We have an obligation to maintain a safe learning environment while
- 50:40respecting students' rights to speak on issues. We take our obligations to students seriously,
- 50:46and because of this, there's an expectation for students to engage in respectful
- 50:51dialogue for chain, not hateful speech that is directed towards a specific student population.
- 50:57End quote. Unified also claims that any information pertaining to the suspension some
- 51:04may have seen online or on social media is inaccurate and incomplete, but declients
- 51:09to share any further details about the incident, citing student privacy laws as the
- 51:15reason for doing so. So two things you can't help but notice in this
- 51:20conflict, and in this debate about this conflict. If you support Palestine,
- 51:27you're an anti Semite. If you support Israel, you're an islamophobe. And
- 51:32I mean the slightest deviation from the absolute zero on that axis. And you're
- 51:38already treading one of the minefields that has been sprawled on both sides of you.
- 51:45And if you try to backpedal, you're now stepping on both mine fields
- 51:51simultan simultaneously. There's no semblance of a nuanced position that you can possibly adopt
- 51:58that won't get you pulled up by dissident arm of the same woke machine.
- 52:05That is, unless you are a Jew or a Muslim. If you're a
- 52:09Jew, then of course you can say Israel has the right to defend itself,
- 52:14and you are immune from criticism. If you're a Muslim, then of
- 52:17course you can say from the River to the Sea, and you are immune
- 52:22from criticism. But if you're a regular Western Joe and everyday straight slash white,
- 52:31slash male slash Christian, delete is appropriate, then you are very much
- 52:36existing in an infinitesimly thin sliver of space between a rock and a hard place,
- 52:43and your opinion on the matter will not be appreciated. No matter what,
- 52:46anything you say will get you demonized by the same ecophobic hive mind is
- 52:53currently driving yourself nuts trying to decide which foreign to support based on which of
- 53:01those teams is going to destroy Western values the quickest and most efficiently. I'd
- 53:09say it's a trap, but it's not even a trap. It's just a
- 53:14series of holes that have been dug into the ground by people who have no
- 53:19reason to dig holes other than that they think holes are better than the space
- 53:24that would otherwise fill those holes. They don't care who it is who falls
- 53:30into those holes. If you move too far into their territory, you'll find
- 53:35yourself in one of those holes, and they'll go. We don't take kindly
- 53:38to people who move the slightest inch in that particular direction, So yeah,
- 53:44don't don't move in either direction. To stay between the two mindfields, on
- 53:50the thin strip of no man's land where you actually stand for your own country.
- 53:57That's how we used to do it when I was in We had a
- 54:00vague idea of what Israel was and what Palestine was. But we didn't give
- 54:05a shit, and neither did the teachers. But we supported England in the
- 54:10World Cup, we supported Britain in the Olympics. What we argued about was
- 54:17which local football teams we supported and which bands we liked. And no one
- 54:23ever got suspended or expelled or even disciplined for liking such things, or for
- 54:28liking anything, not even Israel or Palestine, because it doesn't fucking matter as
- 54:35long as they're getting on with your work and you're not beating someone to death
- 54:39or having a gun pointed at you from some guy in a subway? Can
- 54:45we not? Can we just not? Can we yet? Never mind?
- 54:49Never? Even so, I think people who regularly listen have heard me talk
- 54:57about the Israel Palestine conflict enough to understand why I say the whole situation is
- 55:02manufactured, and I'm calling bullshit on all of it. I blame the United
- 55:07States government for a large portion of it. And I'm not going to talk
- 55:12about that because something else is more important. Actually, in this right now,
- 55:17the school has done something profoundly egregious in regard to its responsibility as an
- 55:27institution and the responsibility of the people of that institution, the adults in that
- 55:31institution, to teach young people negotiation skills and how to manage conflict without having
- 55:43it escalate into violence. They have told the students that if an individual loses
- 55:51control over their temper and escalates a conflict from verbal conflict to physical violence,
- 56:00that it is always the fault of the speaker that they're mad at. And
- 56:07that's bullshit. It's not just bullshit, it is advocating violence. The school
- 56:13advocated violence against people who said the wrong thing to it students, and I'm
- 56:19sure the administrator doesn't realize that that they did that. They don't realize that
- 56:23they just gave students an excuse to attack people physically for saying the wrong thing.
- 56:30But they did when they released a statement that they will not tolerate speech
- 56:37that incites others to engage in negative behavior, and they weren't talking about speech
- 56:45that is itself directly advocating violence. It's okay for them to suspend a kid
- 56:53who says beat that guy up, beat that guy up to somebody who's already
- 56:59considering getting into a fight, you know, or or says I'm going to
- 57:02come in and shoot up the school. Those are things that, yes,
- 57:06they should be addressing that, But when a student says something political, just
- 57:13political, like we debated we debated abortion in my government class, my high
- 57:20school government class, and there were some of us that were, you know,
- 57:22felt very strongly on that. Like I was only a few years away
- 57:28from the experience of having had pick shit thrown in my face from you know,
- 57:35from a from a pro aboart, So like I was one of those
- 57:38people that felt very strongly about that. None of us would have come to
- 57:42blows over it because we knew that was inappropriate. Are our teachers right?
- 57:47Our mentors had taught us to differentiate between having strong opinions and engaging in strong
- 57:54speech over those opinions versus throwing hands over those opinions. One is within the
- 58:01rules and one is against the rules. And they just they just fucked that
- 58:06up. They fucked it all up. And those kids, some of those
- 58:10kids are now going to be the next set of Antifa street warriors that burn
- 58:16down somebody's neighborhood because they're mad, Right, That's that's what they've done.
- 58:24They've just encouraged kids to develop that attitude that is absolutely shameful. And it
- 58:31doesn't matter whether the issue is Israel versus Palestine, abortion uh, this school
- 58:38rivalry versus you know that that students not caring about sports at all, nerds
- 58:45versus jocks. It doesn't matter what group, what, whether, how,
- 58:49whether it's big, whether it's small, whether it's life or death, whether
- 58:52it's petty as hell. Students should be learning that you express the ideas,
- 58:59that you challenge, the ideas you critique, the ideas you provide evidence,
- 59:02logic, reason and boundaries. I'm done talking about you know, this subject
- 59:09because we're never going to agree on it, So let's just part Let's walk
- 59:14our separate ways on it. You know that kind of thing. Not well,
- 59:17if you say the wrong thing, your fellow student can hit you,
- 59:22and we support their right to hit you for it so much that we're gonna
- 59:25blame you for it and suspend you, not them. Like I can't even
- 59:35express how how much shame on those people for that. Shame on them.
- 59:40If somebody taught my kid that I would be in there, they would hear
- 59:45me in the next town over. By the time I got done, every
- 59:52adult in that school would feel two inches tall. That is shocking behavior.
- 1:00:00From an administrator, And uh, I don't even support what the student said.
- 1:00:08You know, I don't necessarily oppose or support what the student said because
- 1:00:15I don't know what was behind it. Mm hmm. You know, do
- 1:00:19they support the terrorist acts or do they just support peace? You don't know.
- 1:00:27Half the people that say that have no idea what's going on over there.
- 1:00:30And this is a kid, so you don't know whether they've had a
- 1:00:34bunch of propaganda fed to them or whether they're actually aware of what's going on
- 1:00:39over there. Yeah, I mean, that's that's that's the thing. We
- 1:00:44don't know the context of this situation, and neither side seems like they're gonna
- 1:00:47tell us anytime. Seeing and and fully, the context doesn't change that the
- 1:00:52administrator should never have communicated that speech incites others to engage. When he says
- 1:01:00negative behavior, he means violence. That that students should not be taught that
- 1:01:07they are responsible for other people's violence when they stay a political slogan buzzwords.
- 1:01:15Mm hmmm. And that's the other thing too, is we don't even know
- 1:01:19if there was a punch thrown in this entire thing. The only thing the
- 1:01:24citation of suspension said was suspended for saying these two words in this area,
- 1:01:31and I think that should be a lawsuit. That should be if there was
- 1:01:36no other inciting factor here. I do believe they have precedent on their side.
- 1:01:40Mm hmm, yep. Public. This wasn't anything profane. This wasn't
- 1:01:47anything actually, you know, advocating for any sort of actual violence. Just
- 1:01:53two words free palace and it is a government institution. M hmm, yeah,
- 1:02:00yeah, yeah, exactly, yeah, first Amendment all the way.
- 1:02:04There was one minor update I wanted to throw in here, but yeah,
- 1:02:07I figured but'd say it live instead of kind of jiggering in into the write
- 1:02:09up. There was a quote unquote planned protest about this, I believe for
- 1:02:15today or yesterday, but a comment from the family was to say basically,
- 1:02:22no, there is not going to be a protest, as in, like
- 1:02:25it was either canceled or just simply never going to happen in the first place.
- 1:02:29It stopped it maybe, yeah, awesome. Now I am going to
- 1:02:32point out schools do have a little bit of censorship, right if I was
- 1:02:40a student, you know, like this is from back when I was a
- 1:02:45student. I was on the school newspaper staff and yearbook and you know everything,
- 1:02:51they can censor those publications in terms of if the subject matter that you
- 1:02:58are trying to publish in those publications is inappropriate for the student age. You
- 1:03:07can't override the wisdom of the adults in that situation and say, well,
- 1:03:12I'm going to publish this thing about sex and violence in the school newspaper,
- 1:03:17and the adult says, no, we don't want fourteen year olds reading about
- 1:03:22that in our newspaper. They if their parents want them to read about it
- 1:03:25in the city newspaper, that's fine. Or they can also say, you
- 1:03:30know, if it would get them in trouble for libel, or you know,
- 1:03:37if it's a spoken publication like they have a radio station or a television
- 1:03:43station or something like that, they can they can stop you, but they
- 1:03:45can't just suspend you for words spoken in the hallway unless there's profanity involved.
- 1:03:52And there's nothing profane about saying defeat free a group of people. Yeah,
- 1:04:00I mean, I I just wanted to say that it seems to me that
- 1:04:03the our willingness to even engage in discourse has severely diminished, Like the fact
- 1:04:11that you have schools punishing students or expressing an opinion they don't like when you
- 1:04:17look, you know, I've watched a lot of like old clips. You
- 1:04:21can find old clips on the internet of debates and talk show discussions, you
- 1:04:29know, with where the very controversial things were being discussed, very controversial people
- 1:04:34were on and nobody lost their mind, nobody tried to get somebody fired,
- 1:04:40nobody tried to cancel anyone at least not you know, right there. And
- 1:04:44it certainly didn't do that to children and students. This was like adults.
- 1:04:48And if you look at old like presidential debates, you know, so when
- 1:04:54I say this, I'm not talking about the kids. I'm talking about the
- 1:04:57adults today. They they have no ability, it seems to handle disagreement.
- 1:05:04Like it's like we can't even engage these conversations. And there's a strong push
- 1:05:10to end these things, like a very strong push. I mean you you
- 1:05:14only you know, there's tons of examples, but this is like the our
- 1:05:18discourse, our ability to have conversations is like all but gone compared to what
- 1:05:28you think maybe when the internet started. But I'm I don't know, why,
- 1:05:32when do you think? I've been asking myself that question constantly. It's
- 1:05:38just like when when did we truly get there. Yeah, I mean I
- 1:05:41think, but I can't recall a specific time, but I think it was
- 1:05:45right around the time we decided that well, and this was largely a decision
- 1:05:51that people on the political left, I believe, made, which was,
- 1:05:56well, if you're simply talking to the other people, that means you tacitly
- 1:06:00support them. Yeah, I mean, why would you Why would you talk
- 1:06:03to them? I did, Davint. You heard what X, Y,
- 1:06:06and Z the beliefs they believe. Yeah, I mean I think that's true.
- 1:06:13But there's other stuff. I think that our education, the quality of
- 1:06:15education, is a lot worse than it was. I think that was a
- 1:06:19slow process. I think every every generation, like after World War two,
- 1:06:26is more poorly educated than the one that came before it. And I think
- 1:06:30that the ability to handle like serious discussion, you know, the ability to
- 1:06:38know how to think and how to process information, how to propose things,
- 1:06:43it's it's all but completely gone like and you can see it because even the
- 1:06:47people who have all of the all of the authority over raising and teaching and
- 1:06:54educating children, they can't handle this ship. And then you take that come
- 1:06:59by with other things like you know, how much, how many children grow
- 1:07:03up in you know, like whole families where they have both of their parents
- 1:07:10and they're learning from that and they have a community and they learn things through
- 1:07:15that or like their media or whatever. I think that it's for It's a
- 1:07:20bit a thing that has built up over time, and I think it's worse
- 1:07:25now that I mean, you can just look at like the data I have
- 1:07:28a I have a slightly different experience. It's not entirely different experience, but
- 1:07:32I will say this, it was nineteen eighties, five or eighty six when
- 1:07:41I when I had picture it grown in my face for protesting in favor of
- 1:07:45women having the right to know the name of the doctor that performs their abortion.
- 1:07:51That's it. And the reason that the women should have the right to
- 1:07:56know that is if the doctor engages in malpractice and does damage to their body
- 1:08:03when when performing the abortion, they should have as much right to sue that
- 1:08:10doctor as you would have if you had that happened to you in plastic surgery
- 1:08:15or by a heart surgeon or any other physician that performs that. They should
- 1:08:21have to be held to the same standard of practice as any other physician,
- 1:08:27and just that saying well, yeah, if it's medical, then hold them
- 1:08:31to medical standards. That was enough to cause an adult woman to throw pig
- 1:08:38shit at a teenage girl. So that's I mean, and that's nineteen eighty
- 1:08:44six, that's not that's not today, that's not ten years ago. Sure,
- 1:08:48that's a long time ago. Yeah. Also, it's also likely that
- 1:08:53it's worse now. You know, I'm not saying that we were super I
- 1:08:57don't think it's worse now. I think I think it's more widespread now.
- 1:09:01Where at that protest, there was one woman in my vicinity that was willing
- 1:09:06to do that, today there might be five or ten in a similar fourteen
- 1:09:13year old's vicinity. And it's there have always been within and it's mostly within
- 1:09:24the issues like that, the area where there's one side it feels that they're
- 1:09:33defending, you know, innocent life, and the other side feels that that
- 1:09:41they're they're defending a bodily autonomy right, and the innocent life that the other
- 1:09:46side is defending isn't real. And so you have hate on you know,
- 1:09:54one side, and a lot of anger and outrage on the other side.
- 1:10:00And that happens with has happened with a lot of things. It's happened with
- 1:10:05gay rights, right, it's happened with unions, It's happened with all kinds
- 1:10:13of different political opinions. And there there's been a lot of violence involved in
- 1:10:18regard to union issues, for instance, and the mafia got involved in that
- 1:10:24as well. There's been a lot of violence involved in terms of gay rights,
- 1:10:30and there's been a type of mafia get involved in that as well,
- 1:10:35and now that's been corrupted. And there's been a lot of violence on both
- 1:10:40sides of the abortion issue as well, that there's been murder committed on both
- 1:10:46sides of the abortion issue. And so it's really hard to say that this
- 1:10:51wasn't it's not a new thing. It's not that people's behavior in general is
- 1:10:58getting worse. It's that we're seeing more people comfortable, a larger number of
- 1:11:04people comfortable with engaging in that type of behavior. Right. So it's it's
- 1:11:12it's hard to and I've seen sort of an increase in that over time.
- 1:11:16You know, I've been I've been doing sort of this kind of thing,
- 1:11:21not maybe live streaming, but this kind of I've been doing political activism since
- 1:11:28I was a preteen, and uh, I've been watching it. It's more
- 1:11:33like seeing a cancer spread through tissue than seeing it suddenly change. You know,
- 1:11:44like one one day it's uh, you know, nobody's like that,
- 1:11:47and the next day a bunch of people are like that. And I mean
- 1:11:50there's always been There were race riots in the seventies, there were race riots
- 1:11:56in the nineties, and so there's always been this kind of thing. It's
- 1:12:00just there are more people who are comfortable engaging in false dichotomy thinking and taking
- 1:12:10it to a perspective where a place where they won't hear the opposite perspective or
- 1:12:15alternate perspectives to their own, where they won't look at evidence, and where
- 1:12:20they are willing to engage in violence and social cancelation, like social assassination of
- 1:12:30the other side. That's that's spreading, and it is like a cancer.
- 1:12:39Yeah, all right, well, let us know what you guys think about
- 1:12:42this one of the comments. We're going to move on to the final story.
- 1:12:45I look forward to your thoughts on that. Okay, So in news
- 1:12:51that probably feels like it should have taken a lot less time than it did.
- 1:12:58Did you ever come away reading nineteen thinking wow? Or well, is
- 1:13:01such a misogynist? According to a biographer, of Orwell's wife. Or Well's
- 1:13:06wife, that's a weird one. As cited by the Telegraph, the darkness
- 1:13:12that runs through nineteen eighty four is a reflection of Orwell's soul. Quote he
- 1:13:17desperately wants to be decent, and wanting to be decent is an honorable thing,
- 1:13:21a noble thing. But writing a book like nineteen eighty four, which
- 1:13:26is violent, misogynistic, sadistic, grim paranoid that comes out of a writer's
- 1:13:30flaws. It takes someone who is those things to go deep inside themselves and
- 1:13:34pull that vision out. A decent, everyman, underdog, the ordinary person
- 1:13:40that he might have wanted to be, would not have had those visions.
- 1:13:44She then added, it's a very curious thing that's going on. He is
- 1:13:47not a man of his time. It's not to be excused and thought of
- 1:13:51as back in the day. The Telegraph article titled George Orwell was sadistic,
- 1:13:58misogynistic, homophobic and sometimes violent, has no quote attributed to Orwell to prove
- 1:14:03this alleged misogyny and homophobia, and according to PG Media, who's the source
- 1:14:09for this article, the entire article is premised on the musings of the hyper
- 1:14:14feminist biographer of Orwell's wife, who died in nineteen forty five, and whom
- 1:14:17the biographer obviously never spoke to any quote. It seems Orwell's mistake, or
- 1:14:26at least what he failed to foresee, was the extent to which socialism could
- 1:14:31and would manifest itself. It was the same mistake so many non socialists would
- 1:14:38make. I think he anticipated being called a fascist for the sacrilegious things he
- 1:14:45predicted. Even by the nineteen forties, it was already an established socialist tactic
- 1:14:51to simply call everyone who disagrees with you a fascist. It's a tactic that
- 1:14:57has survived to this day and only become more powerful as the general public loses
- 1:15:03any sense of a practical definition of what fascism even means. But of course,
- 1:15:10socialism, as these saints do, has traveled the path of least resistance,
- 1:15:15and when it came to the already decad and already industrialized West, the
- 1:15:21path of least resistance is the path of least exam the power dynamic between men
- 1:15:28and women. All Well lived in a world where the figureheads of dictatorship were
- 1:15:34all male, whether it was Lenin or Hitler or Hirohito or whatever. That's
- 1:15:42why he referred to the incorporeal leader as big Brother, because it's not the
- 1:15:47father has portrayed in the Ibahamic faiths. It's an authority claiming the ostensibly equal
- 1:15:57status of a brother are still very much a male godhead. If he if
- 1:16:04he were to profit a vision truly ahead of its time, then he would
- 1:16:09have called it Big Sister, that Wohilch profers equality among women with no consideration
- 1:16:16for anyone else. But if he had called it big Sister, you can
- 1:16:21bet the feminists would have headed him off at the past and declared nineteen eighty
- 1:16:26four a massage in his handbook many years in advance, and had him quote
- 1:16:33unquote canceled out of existence before any of us were even born. It was
- 1:16:40the shortcomings of his clairvoyance in this area that kept him on good terms with
- 1:16:45the feminists for so long. So yeah, oh well, he took the
- 1:16:51slings of you're a fascist, and he took the arrows of you're a communist,
- 1:16:59and he was careful able to dodge them all by finding allegories that refute
- 1:17:03both sides. But he never anticipated the flavor of the tribulations of the twenty
- 1:17:10first century, where you're a misogynist or you're a racist, is all anyone
- 1:17:15needs to say, and it'll happen to everyone. That author you liked from
- 1:17:20fifty years ago. They didn't understand how oppressive white people are, so they
- 1:17:26got to go that author you liked from thirty years ago. They didn't understand
- 1:17:30how oppressive straight people are, so they gotta go that author you liked from
- 1:17:34ten years ago. They didn't understand how oppressive cisgendered people are, so they
- 1:17:40gotta go that author you liked from yesterday. They didn't understand what you decided
- 1:17:46to hate yesterday, so they got to go. This is as much as
- 1:17:51ohwell did indeed predict. There will be nothing new, nothing novel. There
- 1:17:58will be no history, no context to anything, just this insistence that things
- 1:18:05have always been this way and always will be I and people will fall for
- 1:18:11it, not just because of class warfare, but because of what we call
- 1:18:15gender warfare, bleeding out as it did into race warfare, sexual orientation warfare,
- 1:18:23ability warfare, ironically enough, everything but class warfare, until there is
- 1:18:31nothing but one great machine AI acting as the upper class. All they had
- 1:18:38to do was call everyone racist and sexist. The path of least resistance,
- 1:18:44and it's because we didn't resist. Pardon us here, anti Badgeridia for resisting.
- 1:18:50I hope we die naturally before the Singularity gets hold of us and downloads
- 1:18:56our brains into an infinite nightmare of unimaginable torture. Maybe it's our own fault
- 1:19:01for being such misogynists, will tell ourselves as we scream into the void forever
- 1:19:10louder and louder than ever. And oh yeah, it's honestly just typical feminist
- 1:19:17use of a typical feminist weapon. It's it's not really about him being misogynists.
- 1:19:24That's that's why they didn't have to have evidence. It's why they didn't
- 1:19:28have any quotes or anything like that. It's because it's it's about trying to
- 1:19:32get rid of him, and calling someone a misogynist happens to be the most
- 1:19:39effective weapon right now, or at least it has been for quite some time,
- 1:19:45and they're expecting that people aren't fed up enough with it too, you
- 1:19:51know, to make it not work this time. And that's it. It's
- 1:19:56complete mercenary use of the term. And it absolutely has nothing to do with
- 1:20:01what they really think of him, and everything to do with trying to eliminate
- 1:20:06an effective critic of that type of authoritarian collectivism. That's it. Yeah,
- 1:20:16they had to so now or well late to the party. But he can
- 1:20:24now join his peers doctor Seuss, R. Elstein, Rold Doll, who
- 1:20:30else, I guess basically Tolkien and C. S. Lewis, considering they're
- 1:20:35butchering their work. Just everyone. Yeah, yeah, oh except for Stephen
- 1:20:43King, who is siding with the feminists. So he thinks he's immune,
- 1:20:47like, oh, I'll be at the right hand of the devil, that
- 1:20:50it's better than being in his path. But he has Stephen King good luck
- 1:20:56is that? No, he's all hft hp loft. They did get craft.
- 1:21:09Yeah, so yeah, because of his cat. I mean, I
- 1:21:15admit I'm jealous and I would I wish I'd come up with that, but
- 1:21:17anyway, so yeah, I mean, it's not it should be surprising.
- 1:21:23I thought it'd be a decent way to end the show because we are ending
- 1:21:27with an author who tried to warn us, and we're gonna go into the
- 1:21:33Patron Show to talk about another author that well where we we could try to
- 1:21:41warn or we could just let things go. But yeah, so all right,
- 1:21:46well, thank you for coming on the show. We're gonna go into
- 1:21:48the patron show. Now we're gonna read through the Stephen King thing and if
- 1:21:54you guys want to join us, become a badgery yourself. Are going to
- 1:21:57feed the Badger dot com and setting up a monthly subscription. Oh, I
- 1:22:00got a super chow, so I better put that up on the screen.
- 1:22:05Richard Bierre gives us five dollars and wrote a giant paragraph. He says,
- 1:22:12have you seen the saw getting stopped for drunk driving? A thing about the
- 1:22:15closure of Jezebel is that the next magazine of that genre will have an uphill
- 1:22:19battle, as the now unemployed Jezebels won't take kindly to anyone usurping their relevance.
- 1:22:27After all, how many political scandals have there been that always were just
- 1:22:30short of being of the same magnitude as Watergate? Because Woodward and Bernstein will
- 1:22:35absolutely never be upstage as long as they are alive. Well, I imagine
- 1:22:41that a lot of the women I mean there are I guess there are also
- 1:22:44men that work at Jezebel, But a lot of the folks from Jezebel that
- 1:22:46have left are all thinking I'm gonna build my own Jezebel with you know,
- 1:22:53blackjack and hookers male hookers though obviously can't be you know, be like objectifying
