- 0:01Yeah, I see the world through an entirely different lens.
- 0:06It doesn't just give you confidence, but it gives you
- 0:08hope. Take like we're squandering our
- 0:12energy, our life force. So Bitcoin is changing that.
- 0:16For me. It's like it's healing energy.
- 0:20It gives you a kind of of a stand feeling right travel hole
- 0:28goes deep and deep and deep in the immortal works of the doors.
- 0:32The time to hesitate us through discovering.
- 1:00Pete Evans, How you going, man? Yeah, great, DJ.
- 1:03Thanks for having me. Good day, everyone.
- 1:05That's out there too. You are welcome and I'm pretty
- 1:10stoked to have you on. I must admit.
- 1:12There is, it's we're we're funny human beings.
- 1:18Like we kind of you see someone on the telly, right?
- 1:20And you're like, and then you see him in real life.
- 1:22And obviously we're talking over the Internet, so it's not quite
- 1:25real, but I am having a conversation with you and it's
- 1:28kind of like when you go, I guess, and see like a famous
- 1:32landmark on, you know, in real life, like you might see Big Ben
- 1:36or the Colosseum or something like that.
- 1:38And you kind of just go, this is really weird.
- 1:40Like I've had so many interactions with this entity,
- 1:43whatever it is. And then you know, you, you're,
- 1:46you're sort of chatting with with the person and you're like,
- 1:50oh, OK, that's really cool. I'm kind of that's cool.
- 1:52That's then I think just just acknowledge a little bit of
- 1:55gratitude and and thanks right off the Batman.
- 1:58Thank you. Thank you brother, means a lot
- 2:01to me and glad I'm an entity of some sort.
- 2:04An entity, A being. We're old as beings, right?
- 2:08Yeah, that's it, Trying to evolve.
- 2:09Higher no. It's weird because, you know, I
- 2:13used to watch MKL my my girlfriend at the time, now
- 2:18wife. And you know, it was kind of
- 2:21like our dirty little secret, you know, but it was a very
- 2:24compelling enjoying TV show. It's not so much anymore.
- 2:27But hey, let's just let be bygones be bygones.
- 2:31Let's get down to what we're actually here to talk about.
- 2:34How did you discover Bitcoin? Mate, what a great question.
- 2:38And yeah, like everybody probably very sceptical when I
- 2:42first heard about it and it didn't know anything about it
- 2:46obviously. And, and obviously when we're
- 2:48presented with something that we don't know about, a lot of the
- 2:51times we have this sort of this response which is probably a
- 2:58little bit based in fear, based in fear of, of what we don't
- 3:02understand and what we don't know.
- 3:04And so we just dismiss it. And I was one of those people,
- 3:08and it's a funny story, a dear friend of mine called Alex
- 3:13Fetsky, who's pretty popular in the Bitcoin community.
- 3:17We used to bump into each other at an organic store back in
- 3:21Bondi Beach going back 15 years, 14 years ago from now.
- 3:25And I always really enjoyed his energy.
- 3:28He was one of these very sharp sort of individuals that
- 3:33radiated a lot of energy. Yeah, whenever you, you saw him,
- 3:36he just had that, that persona, that, that character, that
- 3:40identity, that entity of just he, he, he, he's an individual
- 3:47that bangs his own drum and he bangs it quite loud, sourcing
- 3:52really, really beautiful produce.
- 3:54So a friend of ours had this organic store in Bondi Beach and
- 3:58we'd always bump into each other there.
- 4:00And, and over the years we formed friendship.
- 4:03And Alex came to be with quite a few different entrepreneurial
- 4:07ideas because I was in the restaurant space as a restaurant
- 4:10owner and a, and a chef at the time and writing cookbooks and,
- 4:14and being on television. And he was in the tech space and
- 4:18the entrepreneurial space, and he was always looking for the
- 4:21angle of what is missing and what can be added to the human
- 4:28experience to make life easier for those sort of the gaps that
- 4:34exist. And I believe, you know, like
- 4:36every entrepreneur that's out there, there are so many gaps.
- 4:39There are so many ideas that can help facilitate solutions on our
- 4:44journey of this technological evolution, whatever that may be.
- 4:49And, and so we bounced around quite a few ideas in the
- 4:53restaurant space, the online space, we got pretty close to a
- 4:57couple of them and it just didn't manifest for us.
- 5:04And I, I lost contact with him because I think he started
- 5:07travelling overseas and doing some other stuff.
- 5:10And I had a chance encounter with him at an airport in QLD
- 5:15for like 2 minutes, probably going back to 20/17/2018.
- 5:19And I'm like, Alex, what are you doing?
- 5:21He's like, I'm fully into Bitcoin.
- 5:25He goes, he goes trust me dude, trust me.
- 5:29Have a look, get into it. Like look, look into this
- 5:33technology and, and I dismissed it and, and I, I reckon if I had
- 5:39of, had longer than two minutes of that interaction, things
- 5:42would have changed for me. And it wasn't until early COVID,
- 5:48or maybe even just before COVID or something.
- 5:50And, and Alex invited me onto his podcast to talk about health
- 5:55and looking at what foods can help us along our journey of
- 6:00long term regenerative health. And subsequently, I invited him
- 6:05onto the podcast afterwards because we had this conversation
- 6:08about what he's been doing for the last couple of years and
- 6:10buildings Bitcoin ecosystem with his Amber app at the time.
- 6:15And, and so I invited him on and just to give people the
- 6:20background, I, I had a pod, I've got a podcast network called the
- 6:25Evolve Network. And I've at that time had done
- 6:29maybe 400 interviews on this podcast about long term
- 6:32regenerative health, everything to do with nutrition, doctors,
- 6:36scientists, professors, researchers, farmers, all the
- 6:41pillars of health, including psychedelic research, Emfs, all
- 6:47of it that encompasses how to be healthy or to remember what it
- 6:52means to be healthy and, and use those tools.
- 6:55And Alex was the first person that I interviewed outside of
- 7:00that health space on a topic called Bitcoin.
- 7:05And we spoke for about an hour and a half on that first
- 7:08Bitcoin. And he gave me quite an
- 7:10overview. And subsequently over the last
- 7:12five years, I've interviewed him about 20 * 3 or 4 or 5 or 6
- 7:17times per year just to keep educating myself and the people
- 7:22that choose to listen. And, and I was amazed because
- 7:28usually in those 400 interviews that I did prior, they were all
- 7:32just individual interviews. And I never went back really for
- 7:35a second or a third bite with these people.
- 7:39Occasionally I did two or three of the same people on sort of
- 7:45deeper aspects to their interest in the health space, whereas I
- 7:51found myself so hungry for what Alex could provide in the
- 7:56Bitcoin space. And, and it's so fascinating
- 8:00because I could probably do 100 or 200 podcasts with Alex if I
- 8:05really wanted to with with the knowledge that he has around
- 8:09Bitcoin. And over the last few years,
- 8:13I've interviewed people like Stefanine Amos, Mark Moss,
- 8:17Robert Breedlove, Natalie Brunel, Lily Douse, who MC the
- 8:22Bitcoin Vegas that I was invited to speak at this year, and
- 8:26others in the Bitcoin space, Brandon Quiddam and many, many
- 8:31others. And it's, it's, it's fascinating
- 8:34that I as this person that's a chef and has spoken about health
- 8:40for so long. My focus really over the last
- 8:43five years has been about Bitcoin.
- 8:45And, and I don't say that lightly.
- 8:50I, I say that as a very powerful statement that Bitcoin has
- 8:56definitely changed the way I see the world through a very, very,
- 9:00very different lens that I never thought that I would be looking
- 9:04through. And I'm so grateful for that
- 9:08experience and for the introduction and the education
- 9:11that I, I have had on this journey.
- 9:14And I, I still view myself as a Bitcoin novice, so to speak, and
- 9:19a Bitcoin beginner. I don't run a node.
- 9:22I don't mind. I don't really trade or transact
- 9:28in Bitcoin a lot. I have I've accepted it and
- 9:32I've, I've used it in very small amounts from peer-to-peer.
- 9:38So again, I, I would, I would call myself a novice as compared
- 9:41to some of the O GS in this space and the people that really
- 9:45embrace it. But I I embraced it through more
- 9:48of A at this point in time, more as a total student.
- 9:56Yeah, OK. And I love it.
- 9:59I love it. I mean, I've still read about
- 10:01Bitcoin probably an hour or more a day, especially the last year
- 10:05Bitcoin treasury companies, what Sailor is doing out there in the
- 10:10space and what metaplanets doing out there in the space and
- 10:13wrapping my trying to wrap my head around and and seeing in
- 10:18real time, but then projecting out into the future all the
- 10:22different possible tentacles that are being created from this
- 10:30one tool called Bitcoin. And it's so exciting.
- 10:34I think it's so exciting. It's like it's like, I still
- 10:37believe we're in our infancy. And I was recently on the
- 10:40podcast of this Fella's just like we were talking about my
- 10:45journey and he and, and I mentioned Bitcoin because I
- 10:48released a book, as you mentioned this year or you
- 10:50haven't mentioned, but I've, I've released a book about
- 10:52Bitcoin and ancestral diet and he goes, well, tell me about
- 10:57where do you think the price is going to be in years?
- 10:59And I'm like, may I that that's the lowest piece of the, the
- 11:05puzzle for me, even though it's obviously important.
- 11:11And, and during the course of that interview, I think he asked
- 11:13me three times, But what do you think it's going to end up being
- 11:16in the used time? I'm like, fuck, dude.
- 11:19Like I just told you, it's not the most important.
- 11:22And he's like, well, tell me what's important about Bitcoin.
- 11:24I'm like, I, I can't explain it to you in 10 minutes.
- 11:27I couldn't even explain it to you in an hour.
- 11:30Like maybe just start with reading Saffanin's book or some
- 11:33of these books that are out there on Bitcoin and watch some
- 11:35of these documentaries and start there.
- 11:39I mean, Saffron books would take you 40 hours, if not 100 hours
- 11:44to possibly read from all the different things.
- 11:48And even then you'll, you'll be at the starting point, but
- 11:51you'll have a wealth, a great foundation on which to build
- 11:54your knowledge base. Because I don't want to do any
- 11:58disservice by trying to explain to somebody what Bitcoin is in a
- 12:0010 minute grab. It's so difficult to explain
- 12:04what Bitcoin is. There's a there is a quote by a
- 12:07fella called Beauty on and he wrote an article, an essay a
- 12:11long time ago or a little a reasonably amount of time ago.
- 12:16It's just called Bitcoin is and that's enough.
- 12:20And that's always been my like, I mean, that's a very, I guess
- 12:24the philosophical definition of it.
- 12:26But the, the thing you've touched on when you're just just
- 12:30talking then about, about Bitcoin, first and foremost, I
- 12:33love the notion that you meet Swetzky, who we've had on the
- 12:37pod episode 100, I think it was in an organic food store, right?
- 12:43And and that's just beautiful because what I find is those
- 12:48connections sort of manifest over time.
- 12:51And when you incept Bitcoin into this, into it, wherever you can
- 12:57find a place for it, the Bitcoin puzzle fits in everything.
- 13:00And it's almost becomes like an Ikagi, you know, those
- 13:03overlapping Venn diagrams where it sits in the center.
- 13:06But all of these things sort of spiral around the outside of it
- 13:10and you can incept it. Like there's people that have
- 13:12incepted Bitcoin in their life and they're major developers,
- 13:15tech nerds. They love to get down deep down
- 13:18in the code. And then there's people that
- 13:20love to wax philosophical about it.
- 13:23And I'll count myself as one of those.
- 13:25And then there's like, you know, the think boys, but then there's
- 13:27like the health conscious people, the people that are just
- 13:30wanting to find ways to exist and sort of elevate themselves a
- 13:37little bit more, whether that's, you know, getting more sunshine,
- 13:40eating more healthily, whatever it is.
- 13:42And you can literally insert Bitcoin into that thought
- 13:45process and it will amplify the thing that you're doing.
- 13:50It's kind of wild, to be honest. I I agree completely.
- 13:57It is such a simple, simple yet complex yeah, it is tool and
- 14:05everybody comes at AI guess from a very different perspective.
- 14:09I went to Bitcoin Prague this year.
- 14:11I was invited to speak on a panel about censorship and and
- 14:14cancellation and, and the ways in which Bitcoin can offer a
- 14:18solution in those spaces. And it was fascinating because
- 14:21I, I stayed in this hotel in Prague and, and I was getting, I
- 14:27was going down getting a, a coffee in the morning before I
- 14:30went out to the, the thing. And I looked around the room and
- 14:33I saw a dude there and I'm like, you look like a bitcoiner.
- 14:37And I just sort of waved to him and he waved back.
- 14:40And then the next day did the same thing, saw him sitting
- 14:43there and I, I just walked over and I just said, Hey, I'm Pete,
- 14:47you know, who are you? He's like, I'm, I'm the Bitcoin
- 14:50mechanic. I'm like, yeah, OK, so, so yeah,
- 14:56but what's your name? And he's like, I'm just known as
- 14:59the mechanic dude. I'm like, sweet.
- 15:03And then that same day I went to I went to an after after party
- 15:08or something that was being hosted and I met a guy called
- 15:13Rockstar Developer, Uncle Rockstar, I think his name is.
- 15:16And, and he's got the whole anonymous sort of mask on and,
- 15:20and hiding his identity. I'm like, fuck, I, I'm meeting
- 15:26people that take this thing fucking very seriously about the
- 15:30whole privacy, the, the, the notion behind like I'm actually
- 15:36stepping out of not only one system, but actually many
- 15:40systems. And I ended up having breakfast
- 15:43with a couple of times with the Bitcoin mechanic during the, the
- 15:49course of my stay in the hotel, a lovely guys and he was with
- 15:53some of the crew from Ocean, the mining, mining, decentralized
- 15:58mining system. And just sitting there listening
- 16:03and asking those guys questions because mining, I've got not
- 16:07very little education about that space because I haven't
- 16:10interviewed miners before, but just sitting around sharing a
- 16:13coffee and and sharing some food and just listening to them got
- 16:16them talk about their side of the world.
- 16:20And and now I follow the Bitcoin mechanic and I'm watching what's
- 16:24going on with these the node. The.
- 16:28Node called the the conflict or whatever it is and I'm like wow
- 16:33like this is very serious to these people and and the the
- 16:45reason I'm saying that is I guess Bitcoin represents
- 16:50something very very very powerful and important to these
- 16:54people maybe more so than what I had been introduced to it
- 16:59through through my lenses. Even though very important that
- 17:03the people that are sort of protecting that ecosystem, if
- 17:07that's the right or the protocols of this, you know,
- 17:12this passion involved in what I'm seeing, you know, and they
- 17:16do not take it lightly and, and that sort of passion to protect
- 17:21something. And I, I, I have no comment on
- 17:26which is the right way forward because I'm, again, I'm a novice
- 17:29into this and a beginner and I would never put my own
- 17:33perspective forward because I don't have the, the background
- 17:36in it. But that gives me encouragement
- 17:40that Bitcoin is here for the long run.
- 17:44And there are very, very, very, very passionate people involved
- 17:48in the protection of it, no matter which lens you're looking
- 17:51through it. And yeah, I'm just stoked
- 17:55because it's such a different world for me to inhabit and be a
- 17:59part of in a very small way, but with with very open eyes and
- 18:05very open heart to witnessing how this one tool can influence
- 18:13not only individuals and communities, but I believe the
- 18:16whole world. And I, and I do think this is
- 18:19coming, whether people know it or not.
- 18:23Yeah, it, you know, I appreciate the humility of the fact that
- 18:26you're not willing to comment on something like the Node wars.
- 18:30And if you just catch it, if anyone knows Pete Evans, they'll
- 18:33they'll, they'll, and they've, they've, they've only read the
- 18:36headline, They'll think that you're just commenting on all of
- 18:39these wild things and having these opinions and and you just
- 18:43say things when that's clearly not the case.
- 18:45Because if you if you actually read behind the headlines, you
- 18:48actually engage with this person online that most of us interact
- 18:53with, you'll know that you actually quite think quite
- 18:55deeply about these things and will only ever pass a comment
- 18:59when you've actually got an informed opinion, right.
- 19:02And that speaks volumes. I think to, you know, you're not
- 19:06willing to comment on the node wars things, which means you've
- 19:10put the time and effort and doing the research and all the
- 19:12other things that you often, you know, get accused of being and
- 19:16it's just ludicrous and ridiculous.
- 19:18So there's that. The other point I wanted to just
- 19:21touch on is this notion of talking to the Bitcoin mechanic.
- 19:25And I don't know if that's the guy with the check engine light
- 19:27meme or grass fed, but the notion is that I was gonna, I
- 19:32was curious to know after those conversations, those
- 19:35interactions, particularly in Prague, have you found you
- 19:39adopting certain concepts that on the face of it are pretty
- 19:43disparate and seemingly disconnected from your world,
- 19:48your reality and how you interact with the the universe.
- 19:52And bringing those in to maybe reframe or reshape or slightly
- 19:57alter a way that you could approach anything like the
- 20:02notion of proof of work, for instance, which is comes from
- 20:05mining. I think that is applicable to so
- 20:07many different things. It's proof of work that you.
- 20:09Spend the time and energy to write the book and get it
- 20:12published and promote it and do the things.
- 20:14There's proof of work in the meal that you create.
- 20:17You can't just like have a have a meal.
- 20:19I mean, you can pay for one. Sure, you can, you know, flag
- 20:22the way to down. But the notion is that you have
- 20:25to demonstrate proof of work in order to get a high quality
- 20:31output or, or something to that effect.
- 20:33The notion that you've have you found yourself adopting concepts
- 20:36that you've been exposed to in Bitcoin and bringing them into
- 20:40your day-to-day? Yeah, as mentioned, I've, I've
- 20:44just released a book called The Primal Code.
- 20:46So it's Bitcoin ancestral diets and Huddling Your Health.
- 20:49And I'm, I'm wearing the T-shirt huddling your health that I got
- 20:52made-up to. And in that I, I do my best to,
- 20:59to show the correlation or the parallels between huddling your
- 21:05health and huddling your coins base or huddling Bitcoin.
- 21:09And one of the chapters is, is about proof of work.
- 21:13You know, if you are interested in looking after your health,
- 21:18then obviously the proof of work, it can take on many
- 21:22different forms. As you mentioned, it can come in
- 21:25the form of where do I source the best quality meat and
- 21:27seafood. If if you're choosing to eat
- 21:29that, you know, who am I going to support?
- 21:32Am I going to get myself a chest freezer and actually buy from
- 21:35the farmer maybe half a cow or one A1 cow each year and have it
- 21:39broken up and have all the pieces in the freezer so that I
- 21:42have a year's supply or half a year's supply of the best
- 21:47quality meat that I can get my hands on?
- 21:51And then am I going to do the proof of work to actually, and
- 21:54this is where it's really interesting, depending on which
- 21:58geographical location and your education base in the role of
- 22:03cooking in your day-to-day life, whether you do it yourself or
- 22:08your partner does it for you or you do it combined or, or you're
- 22:11outsourcing that, like you said, going to restaurants and you
- 22:15know, proof of work. I think, I don't think you can
- 22:18get any more proof of work than cooking for yourself or having
- 22:28someone cook for you the most well sourced foods.
- 22:34What however, you can get them with whatever budget you are on.
- 22:39You know, everybody has a different, different budget in
- 22:43which they can source and spend their money on to access the
- 22:50best or geographical location, what they can get locally.
- 22:55And I, I invite people, if you're not a confident cook,
- 22:59that it is a beautiful, beautiful skill to learn.
- 23:03And the proof of work is being able to invest the time to learn
- 23:08this skill. If you don't already have this
- 23:10as one of your skills and going on this wonderful lifelong
- 23:14adventure of becoming more and more confident to the point
- 23:18where you're a MasterChef or a master home cook, where I mean,
- 23:24I'm, I'm 52 years of age now and I just had my, my lawnmower
- 23:30fixed. Yes, last night.
- 23:31And, and our lawnmower guy came over at 5:00 in the dark to fix
- 23:36our, our big lawnmower because we, we, we maintain 200 acres.
- 23:40Talking about proof of work of land care.
- 23:43We spend 10 hours a week on the lawnmowers here.
- 23:46And, but if you look at our property, we've invested a lot
- 23:52of time. Yeah, it does.
- 23:54We just, we, we look after it. Proof of work.
- 23:59But the lawn mower man dropped in three fish that he had just
- 24:02caught the day before out of Brunswick's heads in in his
- 24:06boat. And he knows that I and my wife
- 24:10love good quality food And what could be fresher than fish
- 24:14caught the day before off his boat.
- 24:16He was caught that day. But what a beautiful experience.
- 24:20And all day today and last night after he gave it, I'm like, what
- 24:23am I going to do with this fish? To put a smile onto my wife's
- 24:27face and equally a big smile on my face.
- 24:30And honour it too. Oh, and honour it.
- 24:34And I can't wait to show him the photos after this podcast.
- 24:37I'm cooking the fish, one of them, and I'm going to show him
- 24:41his proof of work to spend the time to go out there to catch
- 24:45the fish, to bring it back, put it on ice in the esky, deliver
- 24:49it to me. And the chain of the process of
- 24:53that chain reaction to a beautiful dinner.
- 24:58So yeah, proof of work can be learning a new skill such as
- 25:02cooking. Proof of work can be going out
- 25:04there understanding where to get the best produce from.
- 25:08Proof of work can be educating yourself on what may be the best
- 25:12foods for you to consume, for you to huddle your health so
- 25:18that you can see the fruits of your huddling of your Bitcoin
- 25:22over the coming decades. Yeah, there's no point fucking
- 25:26huddling it and becoming wealthy and then.
- 25:28Yeah. Exactly I'll of a of a disease
- 25:32or a chronic illness that is 100%.
- 25:36Preventable. You have to bring a sense of
- 25:40intentionality. I think one of the cool things
- 25:42that Bitcoin can do for people and, and let's catch it in the
- 25:46fact that is a neutral protocol that does literally just, it's
- 25:49just a triple entry Ledger and just tells you who has what.
- 25:52But there is this kind of thing where you interact with this,
- 25:55this, this network, this protocol, this thing.
- 25:57It's like, it's so weird, it's so metaphysical, but it, it
- 26:02elevates some sort of sense of intentionality.
- 26:04So you get awakened to this notion of huddling your health
- 26:07and you think, OK, well, how can I, how do I do that?
- 26:10Like what do I need to know in order to do that?
- 26:13And then it might wake you up to the notion of looking around you
- 26:17at that local landscape and saying, OK, well, cool.
- 26:20Like actually, wow, we do have fish off the coast that I can
- 26:24access reasonably well. Or there are dairy farms in the
- 26:27hinterland that I can go and see.
- 26:29And and it kind of awakens you to this notion of you.
- 26:32You start to bring far more intentionality to your life.
- 26:36And then that has carryover effects and it all begins.
- 26:40I mean, doesn't have to always begin with Bitcoin.
- 26:42There's plenty of people out there that do those things
- 26:44without knowing Bitcoin. Trust me, I know these people
- 26:47and I really wish they discover Bitcoin.
- 26:50But it's just this kind of very complementary thing.
- 26:54And you have to be intentional in the way that you interact
- 26:57with the network, that you huddle your, your private key,
- 27:01make sure that you store it away safely in disparate locations.
- 27:04If you're running Mobstick, all of these different things, which
- 27:07can get overwhelming and seem really complicated on the
- 27:09surface, but it's the same as trying to, I don't know, quietly
- 27:14ask the person at the markets if they know anyone that has raw
- 27:18milk in the area. And you gotta put yourself out
- 27:20there and be like, you know, I'm looking for some black label
- 27:23milk. Do you is, is there anyone?
- 27:25And then sometimes they look at you a bit weird.
- 27:27And then other times they're like, well, you know, maybe.
- 27:30And you're like, sweet, there's a lead.
- 27:33But it's that whole thing. And I guess even with the
- 27:35privacy aspect of Bitcoin, it's, it's very similar.
- 27:38But yeah, this intentionality, I guess is what brings it out.
- 27:41And then it does become demonstrable when you do do the
- 27:46deed, the proof of work, and you have it laid out in front of
- 27:49you. You know, it's it's pretty
- 27:51remarkable like so. So I guess it has been
- 27:54complimentary in your own life. And I guess one of the questions
- 27:59I do love to ask on this pod is quick break.
- 28:03Just to say, if you're enjoying the show and digging what you
- 28:06hear, please consider supporting discovering Bitcoin by shooting,
- 28:09boosting, sending or zapping the show.
- 28:12Some stats. If you're listening via
- 28:14podcasting 2 point O apps such as fountain pod verse or Breeze,
- 28:18it's easier done than said. All you got to do is tap the
- 28:22boost button or set an amount of sats to stream per minute while
- 28:26you're listening. Alternatively, if you want to
- 28:28ZAP me direct via lightning address, please send zaps and
- 28:32sats or zaps of sats in support of the show to Discovering
- 28:37Bitcoin at primal.net. Thank you for listening and
- 28:42thank you for your support. How has discovering Bitcoin
- 28:46changed you? Well, I'm going to you know what
- 28:53it's one of the benefits has been going through the the
- 29:01crashes, to be honest with you. Yeah, yeah, the.
- 29:07The the amount that I've learnt about myself from investing a
- 29:15lot of, I mean everything. If we can available.
- 29:20Well, let's put it this way. Enough that it the question is,
- 29:29have I lost everything when it when it goes down?
- 29:32Yeah, because I was that convinced in when I discovered
- 29:39Bitcoin and understanding why this makes so much sense on so
- 29:47many levels, like so many levels in that first year of discovery,
- 29:51I was like, got it. This speaks to me in a way that
- 29:58looking after my your health and getting out of potentially as
- 30:03much as you can pharmaceutical, medical industrial complex.
- 30:09This just this spoke to me the same way.
- 30:12And you know, people often say, you know, I remember Alex, he
- 30:18goes, you know, I wouldn't put the bet the farm on it, but, you
- 30:21know, put in what you're willing to play with or willing to lose.
- 30:28Yeah, I bet the farm, right. Very good.
- 30:35And then it went down whatever it was 70% to, you know, that
- 30:39big crash in 2021 or whatever it was.
- 30:43And it was like, OK, here we go. Yeah, what have I done?
- 30:51And it wasn't, it wasn't so much what have I done?
- 30:54It was just like, OK, let's test your conviction.
- 30:58It made me hungrier to learn more about Bitcoin.
- 31:04Wow, yeah. So it taught me and it's
- 31:08fascinating the the level of calmness that going through
- 31:16these couple of cycles. And I know other people that
- 31:19have been in this game for a longer time have been through
- 31:23quite a few of these cycles. But what it it has taught me so
- 31:28much about not overreacting, it's taken away fear because
- 31:37what it has taught me is conviction in the trust of
- 31:44myself and the decisions that I've made and full
- 31:46responsibility and accountability for making those
- 31:50decisions. Betting the farmers, they would
- 31:52say on this, this technology or or this, this opportunity and
- 32:01this invitation to go on this lifelong journey because I do
- 32:06see Bitcoin as a lifelong journey, which if you had have
- 32:09asked me seven years ago or eight years ago, would I ever go
- 32:12on a lifelong journey on on a tech technology?
- 32:16As you said, you know, it's just three things that it offers
- 32:19basically. You know, I would have thought
- 32:22you were crazy, but but I'm, I've been so grateful for the
- 32:27ups and downs of it. I'm more grateful with the downs
- 32:30because it has again, just bought such a a beautiful
- 32:36calmness to my reality. And you know, that can't be
- 32:43underestimated because it's palpable.
- 32:45I feel it. I feel it every day.
- 32:48And even today where it's dropped whatever, I'm just like
- 32:51sweet. Some people were picking picking
- 32:53up some cheaper Bitcoin, like how fucking cool is that?
- 32:58That on sale? That that it's on sale and
- 33:01perhaps it'll it dip again. I'm prepared for it to go to 0.
- 33:06I'll, I'll, I'm happy to bet it all on on this hill, you know,
- 33:12as they say, I'll buy. I'll.
- 33:14Buy all of it all the way down to 0.
- 33:16So if people start want to want to sell, just FYI, if you do
- 33:19want to sell, tank the price. No worries.
- 33:22I mean I'll try, I'll find some dry powder and I'll buy it all.
- 33:25I'll buy it all, send it to 0. Yeah, yeah.
- 33:28So, so that's, that's one thing that it's taught me is, is a
- 33:31greater sense of calm and trust and conviction into this.
- 33:36And it's not like because the only thing I'm not evangelical
- 33:41about it and I'm not fanatical about it, but as far as all the
- 33:46options in wealth management and creation go, I have not found a
- 33:55better opportunity. And, and it's not really an
- 34:00opportunity that that's sort of a weak word to use a better
- 34:05solution. And I guess I've been over the
- 34:09last 15 years, very, very deeply curious about what are the
- 34:15solutions for human beings. As I mentioned, you know,
- 34:18dietary health, all the different pillars to long term
- 34:21regenerative health, consciousness expansion,
- 34:25psychedelics, these are tools that are available for human
- 34:29beings to tap into to create a such a a wondrous experience for
- 34:39our individual and collective journeys.
- 34:42And, and Bitcoin just seems to be the solution at this
- 34:47particular point in time for one of those key aspects, which is
- 34:55holding onto your hard earned time and energy that you have
- 35:01spent to earn a dollar, so to speak, or earn a sat.
- 35:06And it's yeah, I was on Instagram today and I saw a
- 35:14Wellness influencer and, and they were talking about XRP and
- 35:18crypto currencies. And I don't want to pass a
- 35:24judgement. I was just observing.
- 35:27I was like, wow, like, is this your journey to go through this
- 35:31to eventually get to understand what Bitcoin is?
- 35:36And I, I've got so many people I know that like, have you read
- 35:41the Bitcoin standard yet that are in the health and freedom
- 35:45truth movements? Apparently, whatever that is,
- 35:48Because I say, if you, if you understand what Bitcoin
- 35:52represents and, and the potential solutions that it's
- 35:54offering, I, I said you, you can probably stop yelling at the
- 36:01agendas that you think have control of you and other people.
- 36:07I believe Bitcoin solves 99.99% of the things that you're
- 36:11yelling out at and, and perpetuating the US against them
- 36:19mentality because it is just a, an idea, because you ask people,
- 36:24well, who, who are they that you're fighting against?
- 36:28Who are they? Well, you know, it's, it's,
- 36:30it's, it's the big banks, it's the, it's the government's, it's
- 36:33this, it's that, right. But who are they?
- 36:38Yeah. And how much actual influence do
- 36:40they have on your day-to-day life?
- 36:42Like and. If you expose yourself, sorry to
- 36:46interrupt, but if you expose yourself to that energy, you
- 36:51will feel it and then you will be looking for somebody to
- 36:54blame. But you can, as you said with
- 36:56Bitcoin, it's given you that sense of calm and scentedness.
- 37:01You can kind of just have that in your back pocket and then
- 37:04just go about your day and just be like, cool.
- 37:06And I've got the solution. It's like, it's like Bitcoin
- 37:09isn't a starvation. You know, it doesn't, it
- 37:11doesn't, it doesn't, it doesn't help.
- 37:13The individual has to still act and, and, and work to resolve
- 37:18the, the inner contradictions, you know, and, and the way that
- 37:22they are in the world. You know, it doesn't, it doesn't
- 37:25erase the feelings of fear and greed and, and, and stupid
- 37:29mistakes and things like that. It kind of, it sounds tried, but
- 37:33I've, I've written about this, but I mean, and this isn't a
- 37:36original thought at all, but like it is a mirror effectively.
- 37:39And it reflects the choices that you make day-to-day back to you
- 37:43without any distortion. The mirror's not cracked and it
- 37:48kind of shows you who you are by how you you act within that
- 37:52reflection, I suppose. And so when you come along and
- 37:56like, well, like, why are you engaging with this stuff?
- 37:58You know, like, I get it totally.
- 38:00Like it's annoying and it's evil in some instances.
- 38:05But there is a solution. And you know what you could do?
- 38:08You know, what be you, you would really be good at is taking all
- 38:11that knowledge and that energy that you're directing to this
- 38:14negative thing and passing it through the Bitcoin filter and
- 38:18coming out the other side with, with, with far more conviction
- 38:21and, and calm equanimity in order to really actually solve
- 38:27this thing that you're, that you think you're trying to solve.
- 38:31I suppose, you know, because by disrupting that though, Pete,
- 38:35you disrupt the business model and there is kind of a business
- 38:38model in there to, to, to, to, you know, perpetuate outrage and
- 38:44you always got to go back to the incentives.
- 38:47Yeah, yeah, under I, I agree 100% but yeah, so stoked to
- 38:54discover Bitcoin and again, look very much looking forward to
- 38:59learning more about it. And it's fascinating, you know,
- 39:02and I mentioned Bitcoin treasury companies, you know, watching
- 39:05Sailor speak and the different people in the space and everyone
- 39:13seems to have their little nation and it's so fascinating
- 39:16watching the ecosystem grow in. And I know some people don't
- 39:23like what's happening in certain aspects, like we mentioned
- 39:27before with the node wars and stuff like that.
- 39:30Some people don't like Bitcoin treasury companies from what I I
- 39:34follow a lot of people on the X and different platforms in the
- 39:38Bitcoin space just to see everyone's perspective, you
- 39:41know, and the Bitcoin lending companies that are out there,
- 39:47you know, made dear friends with Maurizio, who has leaden of of
- 39:53and, and I see other people are like they shouldn't exist.
- 39:58And I'm like, really they're just finding a, a solution for
- 40:02certain people that may need that for that figure that, and
- 40:05that's what I see so beautifully in this space is it just seems
- 40:10to be more and more. Like what like we were talking
- 40:15about at the start with Alex and these concepts or these ideas
- 40:19where entrepreneurs can see a gap in the marketplace or a
- 40:23solution that they've probably needed in the past.
- 40:26And like, why doesn't this exist?
- 40:28And, and for me, like Lenin has helped me on my journey.
- 40:33I'm not recommending them because it, it's a personal
- 40:38choice that I made and I lose a little bit of accountability of
- 40:41responsibility over my own coins.
- 40:43But doing that, but I didn't want to sell my coins in the 1st
- 40:46place, you know, but I needed to survive certain fluctuations
- 40:52that I have created for my own thing.
- 40:54And I'm like, and I asked Svensky like, does anyone lend
- 40:58on Bitcoin? He's like, and I said, do you
- 41:00trust anyone? And he goes, yeah, he goes, it's
- 41:03probably not the best thing to do, Pete, you know, hold your
- 41:07hold your keys, hold your coins type thing.
- 41:09He goes. But if you if you're really
- 41:11pressed and this is what you want to experience or go on this
- 41:16adventure, he goes maybe have a chat with Mauricio from Lenin.
- 41:20And I've interviewed Mauricio twice on the platform and I'm
- 41:23like, yeah, this seems to work for me and it's helped me
- 41:28through a few hurdles for myself and and we become mates.
- 41:32So it was a Bitcoin Vegas, really.
- 41:34We had dinner a couple of times. I'm like, and I said to her, I
- 41:37said, I said, Maria, I don't have that many friends, like
- 41:43good friends that I hang out with.
- 41:45I said, I would like to hang out with you, dude.
- 41:50Are you from Venezuela And you've got a Bitcoin lending
- 41:53company. But apart from all that, you're,
- 41:57I resonate with your person personality, dude, like, like,
- 42:04and it's just so interesting that the different people that
- 42:07you meet and, and I'm not encouraging people to, to use
- 42:11letters. I would never invite or
- 42:12encourage anyone to do this because I know everybody has
- 42:15their own journey. But I guess where I'm getting at
- 42:19is the seed that is Bitcoin has is growing into not a tree with
- 42:26branches, It's actually growing into a fucking forest, a very
- 42:29biodiverse forest with the people that can complete
- 42:36appreciate the beauty that is growing from this seed and every
- 42:43sort of facet that is emerging from this.
- 42:48This is my perspective and take it or leave it.
- 42:53It's just growing at such a into this beautiful.
- 43:01Don't want to use the analogy of the forest, but I'll.
- 43:02Use it. It's fine that.
- 43:05I love it. Whereas some, some people look
- 43:07at the tree and you know, that's not beautiful, but other people
- 43:10look at that tree that's been built and they go, isn't that
- 43:12beautiful? You know, and that could
- 43:14actually serve my journey in this ecosystem because I never
- 43:21like to put all my eggs into one basket except certain things.
- 43:25And Bitcoin is the basket. But I but I just see so many
- 43:28things emerging from this. And I've said this to, to people
- 43:32that I know, like the people in the Bitcoin space have a perhaps
- 43:40a very different vision of the future that they can create not
- 43:44only for themselves, but for, I think the population or
- 43:50solutions for the population. And I'm, I'm even when I was in
- 43:55Bitcoin Vegas and Prague, I see these, these little territories
- 43:58opening up, whether it be in Honduras or El Salvador and
- 44:02different parts of the world that are creating new tax
- 44:04systems, new new Visa or, or I guess residency options for
- 44:14people. And I think we're, it's such in
- 44:18our infancy that the people in the Bitcoin space just have
- 44:21these, these wildly beautiful visions for the future because
- 44:26they seem to have studied history in very deep detail.
- 44:32And they're like, fuck that. I want to create this for the
- 44:38future of humanity and the Ogs in this space and the people
- 44:43that have gone full Bitcoin, they are going to be some of the
- 44:48wealthiest people in on the face of the planet and no longer will
- 44:55I believe these other billionaires and and agenda
- 45:02driven people, the Bill Gates's of the world.
- 45:05What we're going to I believe is getting created now the Bitcoin
- 45:11billionaires, perhaps trillionaires of the world in
- 45:14the coming future that will shape the solutions for a better
- 45:20humanity. And again, I do not say that
- 45:23lightly, but that's, that's what I can see, which is why I'm so
- 45:27invested in the Bitcoin and not XRP and no other altcoin or
- 45:32whatever you coins you want to call them.
- 45:36Because the beauty of Bitcoin is the people that are behind it, I
- 45:40believe or not behind it, but in into.
- 45:43And I've had these. Yeah.
- 45:46And and that that is just, and I don't use the word hope because
- 45:52I, I, I don't hope that we have a better world.
- 45:55I already live in a beautiful world and I create my own
- 45:58reality. But yeah, well.
- 46:01There's a lot of integrity, yeah.
- 46:04And so when you have these people of high integrity that
- 46:08generally tend to not suffer fools that do are willing to
- 46:13roll up their sleeves and do the work that's required to build
- 46:17whatever it is. If it's a Bitcoin beach and
- 46:19Elzante or a circular economy in Canada or what, whatever the
- 46:23case may be, it's like it gives, it's, it's, it's like a
- 46:28permissionless system that gives you permission to just go and do
- 46:31something and you're just gonna do it, you know, and, and it
- 46:34really resonates with those sorts of people that are like,
- 46:36I'm just going to go and do, I'm going to do it.
- 46:38I'll figure it out. I don't know how I'm going to
- 46:41get from A to B, but I'm going to figure it out.
- 46:43And what's really cool is that I have this firm foundation from
- 46:48from which to stand on. And if it all goes tits up,
- 46:52well, I'll keep a little bit in the side and I won't be
- 46:55destitute. Do you know what I mean?
- 46:57But I'm going to give it a go. I'm going to actually have a, a
- 47:00try. And there's that notion coupled
- 47:05with the authenticity that I tend to, to, to, to find quite a
- 47:09lot amongst Bitcoiners. There's a real genuineness about
- 47:12them, but also that level of integrity that, you know, that
- 47:19that they're not. I mean, I say that I can think
- 47:24of something, I can think of some example, but you know what
- 47:27I mean? Like, generally, on the whole,
- 47:29they're good people and they want to do good things.
- 47:32And that's not blowing our own horns.
- 47:34It's just, it's one of the remarkable things I like having
- 47:37on this pod is, is like just meeting literally desperate,
- 47:39disparate people, just people all around the world who all
- 47:43just are coalescing around this thing.
- 47:45And they're generally speaking, incredibly nice people to just
- 47:50have a yak with. And that's a cool thing. 100%,
- 47:53You know, Yeah. What do you wish more people
- 47:56knew about Bitcoin? What do I wish?
- 48:07I wish they understood the the concept or the notion of who or
- 48:15what Satoshi was and represents. I think that's that is the the
- 48:22ultimate. I don't even know the word that
- 48:31I'm looking for, but it's the when I explained to people that
- 48:37Bitcoin doesn't have ACEO, it doesn't have an office, it
- 48:39doesn't have a marketing team, it doesn't have the traditional
- 48:45top tier down business model, so to speak.
- 48:52And that the personal whoever Satoshi invented it and fucked
- 48:59off disappeared. I, I, I, I find that just such
- 49:06a, an alluring story because in in today's world, like, it's
- 49:18just such an anomaly. It's a glitch in the matrix,
- 49:21like I think it's been. I think that story alone is the
- 49:26biggest glitch in today's Matrix.
- 49:29It's like you. Just.
- 49:30Switched off the ego entirely, you know what I mean?
- 49:33Like like. Well, I think it's just perfect.
- 49:36Like it's, it's, it's again, I mean that they people talk about
- 49:42Bitcoin being perfect code or perfect mathematics or the
- 49:46genius perfect invention so far that has ever been invented.
- 49:53But underneath that store, that story, I think is just genius
- 49:57and perfect. I don't think Bitcoin possibly
- 50:00could have been as erotic or romantic without the Satoshi
- 50:08story and the vanishment of that identity from that ecosystem and
- 50:14from that that from the Bitcoin identity.
- 50:18Like it's, it's, yeah, it's, it got me like that's, that's the,
- 50:27that's the part that I'm like, fuck, like you couldn't write a
- 50:32better script. I'm pretty sure they're going to
- 50:35make, I think I was reading recently that they get there's
- 50:38actually a film in the works about the disappearance, the
- 50:41kind of the whole notion of of Satoshi disappearing, that
- 50:43they've made documentaries on HBO and elsewhere.
- 50:46But I'm pretty sure it's Casey Affleck is behind it.
- 50:51But yeah, there that that is a very underrated aspect of of
- 50:55Bitcoin too, to create an engineer protocol that serves
- 51:00all of humanity for the best. Mine some in the vicinity of I
- 51:05think 1,000,000 coins. And then just like, I don't
- 51:08know, disappear, like literally disappear in whatever, you know,
- 51:14notion that could, could mean, you know, and and literally
- 51:18never hear from again and just kind of like walk away.
- 51:22And it's not even like their real name.
- 51:25It is a remarkable and underrated aspect.
- 51:27I think you're right, yeah. And I would love that the
- 51:33identity or identities never come out again.
- 51:38That would be the ultimate story, the ultimate glitch.
- 51:42Yeah, I mean, even Harry Selden from Foundation put his name
- 51:45towards Psycho History. If anyone's a nerd, I just
- 51:50watched the TV show. I I just read all the I spent
- 51:54the last four years reading as many Azimov books as I could in
- 51:59in full. I've just got into the June that
- 52:03I did the Azimov. I think I read 200 of these
- 52:06stories because I'm I'm find it and again, the the late stage
- 52:14science fiction attraction for me is something that I never
- 52:23thought I'd be reading at this age of my life.
- 52:26And from from the June to the ASM of an hour, I'm reading Dan
- 52:31Simmons Hyperion novels, which I think are fucking brilliant.
- 52:36And I think Alex might have put me on to these.
- 52:43The I've lived long enough to know when I'm going down a path
- 52:48that may not make sense to me at this particular point in time
- 52:53when I first start on a path of this.
- 52:55And the science fiction books have been that for the last five
- 52:58years. Like I read them every fucking
- 53:00day. Like it might just be 10 minutes
- 53:03or it could be an hour. There's something in these books
- 53:07for me at this particular point in time that are resonating
- 53:11very, very deeply. And perhaps it's that a lot of
- 53:14this work was done back in the 30s, forties, 50s, sixties, 70s
- 53:18and 80s of the 1900s that are so relevant now to where we're at
- 53:25with AI and the robotic that are coming out at the moment.
- 53:30But deeper, deeper into these novels that I find so attractive
- 53:36is the potential of these tools, right?
- 53:42Because they are just tools. They're just human inventions
- 53:46that we can either abuse or misuse or use to help us along
- 53:52the journey or just completely not use them as well.
- 53:55You know, that is a choice that many will will come to make as
- 54:00well. But I love the Asimov had such a
- 54:04wonderful way of of talking about robotics and AI robotics
- 54:09in particular as this tool. And very few of these books
- 54:13really talked about the destructive nature or the
- 54:16nefarious nature of what robotics may become or out of
- 54:22AI, but more so the wondrous tools that humanity can use in
- 54:29so many different ways and shapes and forms for us to have
- 54:37a more wondrous adventure in life.
- 54:41And, and I love in all of these books, they have the people that
- 54:45shun them and they have periods of time where they completely
- 54:49shun these technologies because they've grown to a point where
- 54:53whatever has happened. But I just love the mystery of
- 54:57it all. And I'm so grateful that I'm
- 54:59present at this particular point in time.
- 55:02And I guess I'm looking back through some of these wonderful
- 55:06creative minds from again, 100 years ago, 80 years ago, 60
- 55:10years ago, that we're predicting the ways in which we will be
- 55:14using these tools or not using these tools.
- 55:18And yeah, I'm captivated by it. And, and I, I, I view myself not
- 55:23only as a student, but just the, an observer of the present
- 55:27moment, but with a vision for the future, but with a big
- 55:31question mark over all the potentialities that can come
- 55:36from the present day choices that we make each and every day
- 55:40going to the future as well. So yeah, I'm I'm my my goal and
- 55:46intention in this and Bitcoin serves as one of the tools for
- 55:49me is I have chosen and my intention is to be around for as
- 55:54long as I possibly can in this human earth suit this identity
- 56:00called Pete Evans, so that I can witness and observe and Co
- 56:04create for the coming decades and however long that may be.
- 56:11As again, I'm I'm 52. I feel like I'm not even halfway
- 56:15into my adventure and and I I'm just so enthralled by everything
- 56:23that's happening without it destabilizing me and becoming
- 56:30ungrounded with with the so-called pace of the
- 56:34technological revolution as well.
- 56:36Because it's just like everything is perfect, always
- 56:38has been. It always will be because we're
- 56:40creating it that it's just the choice of how we inter interact
- 56:47or respond or react or ignore or hideaway from it or embrace
- 56:54these technologies. And everyone with their own free
- 56:58will will make their own choices.
- 57:00And yeah, I'm, I'm just stoked to be around at this point in
- 57:03time. And, and I want to be here for
- 57:06as long as I can because this show that is playing out on the
- 57:11individual level and the collective level is, is the best
- 57:15drama, comedy, horror, love story, like the science fiction
- 57:22books. It's, it is science fiction as
- 57:25well. I get it's, it's
- 57:26all-encompassing and yeah, it's a beautiful story and we can tap
- 57:31into it and we can also manifest into it and Co create.
- 57:35Easily. So you got to have that.
- 57:39You've got to cultivate cognition such that you can pull
- 57:42the threads of the infinite potentials so that you can
- 57:45exactly do effectively what you want to do.
- 57:48If you again, going back to the, the beach on Alzante, like you
- 57:51can just push reality. If you sit with it for long
- 57:54enough, focus your attention on it long enough, direct enough
- 57:58energy to it, you find that starts to bend and warp and, and
- 58:02move to your will. And you can do that.
- 58:05Like I, I did it quite recently. In fact, the AI tool thing I
- 58:13think is an interesting thing because if you just interacted
- 58:17with it from a, from a mainstream news headline, you
- 58:20would think that, you know, in 10 to 15 years time, we're going
- 58:24to have, we're going to produce some $300,000 amnesty bins and
- 58:28we're going to dump our computers in them because some
- 58:31idiot used the tool incorrectly. And now we all can't have nice
- 58:35things. You know, like it's, it's kind
- 58:37of this, this, the, the, the, there's too much fear peddled
- 58:42and buy obviously the mainstream.
- 58:44And that's kind of their shtick. That's how they, that's how they
- 58:46generate their money. I know this 'cause I used to
- 58:48work in the industry and it was fucking draining.
- 58:52But the, the, the notion that once you, once you sort of
- 58:57switch that off and, and actually go out and interact
- 58:59with the world. And as you were talking about
- 59:00with the forest metaphor before all these different, the seed
- 59:04was planted, it's growing into a forest.
- 59:07And now there's Bitcoin is walking through that ecosystem
- 59:09and they're choosing their own adventure.
- 59:11They're, they're choosing to interact with particular parts
- 59:15of the forest. And the forest is incredibly
- 59:16diverse. It has rivers and creeks running
- 59:19through it. It has trees and vines and all
- 59:21these different things, flowers and so on and so forth.
- 59:24And as long as you're able, willing and able to, to interact
- 59:28with it, you can choose your own adventure.
- 59:30You can set up a lending company, you can set up, you
- 59:33know, a, a treasury company. You can set up like a retreat,
- 59:38you know, with the with the evolved sanctuary if you want
- 59:40to. I mean, there's all these
- 59:41different things that you can do.
- 59:44And it's not to say that it just comes back off the back of
- 59:47Bitcoin, but it does. It's kind of this beautiful
- 59:49fulcrum. It's kind of this really great
- 59:51lever to to amplify those things that you want to do and if you
- 59:57want to pull from the infinite potentials.
- 1:00:00You know, to use a dispenser term, you, you do need to, you
- 1:00:05can do it a lot easier, I guess, because it affords you
- 1:00:08optionality and bandwidth and therefore time and energy to
- 1:00:11allocate some of your scarce resources per day to thinking,
- 1:00:16how do I want to be in the world?
- 1:00:18How do I want to carry myself through this, through this,
- 1:00:22through the day? How do I want to respond rather
- 1:00:25than react? And that for me personally, like
- 1:00:29having Bitcoin in the back pocket has opened up that
- 1:00:32consciously because I've been able to allocate those resources
- 1:00:36from a purely innately curious person or as already it just
- 1:00:39sort of cranks that to 11. And you just got to go out and
- 1:00:43use that tool and, and, and, and use it in a way that is most
- 1:00:47beneficial to you, your family, your community, so on and so
- 1:00:50forth. And I think, yeah, I think
- 1:00:53you're 100% correct. There's just a, a, an enormous
- 1:00:56amount of like, it is just remarkable.
- 1:01:01Like there's this Ramdas quote when he was talking to his guru
- 1:01:05named Karoli Baba. And you're Ramdas, or I guess he
- 1:01:09was Richard Alpert at the time. But he's looking around at like
- 1:01:12the, the streets in, in, in, in India, and he's just this chaos.
- 1:01:16And there's just this stuff everywhere.
- 1:01:17And sometimes it's looks awful and sometimes it looks
- 1:01:20beautiful. And his guru was like, it's all
- 1:01:22perfect. Look at it.
- 1:01:24It's all perfect. And he's like, I guess Richard
- 1:01:27is trying to, you know, process this.
- 1:01:28Like, what do you mean it's perfect?
- 1:01:29Like there's shit over there and there's people bathing over
- 1:01:32there and pissing and doing all these things.
- 1:01:34And then he's like, but it's just, it is that's his.
- 1:01:38It's perfect. And it took him such a long
- 1:01:41time. And it takes like, it's still
- 1:01:42taking me a long time. But like, that is a beautiful
- 1:01:45metaphor. And I think you're absolutely
- 1:01:46right. We've got front row seats to
- 1:01:48like a grand show and it's just like, cool, man.
- 1:01:54I, I, I resonate deeply with Rumdous's teacher and mentor.
- 1:01:59You know, I, I, anyone that's listened to my podcast before
- 1:02:03that I've been a guest. I'm like, everything is perfect
- 1:02:07and always will be, always has been.
- 1:02:09And I but, but, but, but how, how can you say that?
- 1:02:13I'm like, because it is, because it couldn't be any other way.
- 1:02:17And it depends on the perception that you have, like you said,
- 1:02:21chaos. Like I watched RFK Junior today,
- 1:02:25who's a dear friend of mine and we wrote, I did a book with
- 1:02:29Children's Health defence earlier this year called Healthy
- 1:02:31Food for Healthy Kids that he helped get connect for me to, to
- 1:02:37be able to do it. And I've got a book coming out
- 1:02:38in a couple of months called the Maha Cookbook.
- 1:02:41And yeah, and he, he helped facilitate that for me as well.
- 1:02:46And there was today him, Trump, doctor Oz group of people
- 1:02:55talking about the links between autism, MMR, vaccines, Tylenol
- 1:03:03of all things. And when I started this this
- 1:03:09journey 15 years ago, talking about long term regenerative
- 1:03:12health and releasing cookbooks, I met so many of these parents,
- 1:03:15these these wonderful, beautiful families that had had children
- 1:03:20that in all, all accounts they said were happy and healthy
- 1:03:24children and they were vaccine injured.
- 1:03:28And the mainstream media and people would make them feel
- 1:03:33potentially like crazy. And here we are today in 2025,
- 1:03:38watching the president of the United States saying we need to
- 1:03:43spread out the vaccines because there's 80 different ingredients
- 1:03:47and there's too much surprise the kids for certain kids.
- 1:03:51And like, again, this is absolutely perfect.
- 1:03:54What is happening today. And, and it's just, yeah, when
- 1:04:00COVID happened, I mean, I was outspoken for that because there
- 1:04:05were certain boundaries that were being potentially crossed
- 1:04:07for my reality. And I was like, I'm not having
- 1:04:10any of that. I'm, I'm not having any of that,
- 1:04:14right? And but I also was in that state
- 1:04:19of this is absolutely perfect, this process.
- 1:04:23But I, I have full trust that this is happening for a
- 1:04:27potential outcome, whatever that may be.
- 1:04:30And we, and perhaps today was the start of that needle being
- 1:04:36moved in that area of exposure and discovery of pharmaceutical
- 1:04:44industries, vaccine manufacturers, that they aren't
- 1:04:48all safe and effective, right? And I'm not anti vax in one way
- 1:04:52shape or another. I'm just like, I've met so many
- 1:04:56fricking parents that that the children were like one way and
- 1:05:02then they had the MMR or whatever it might be.
- 1:05:05And then the next day they had completely different children
- 1:05:07and their whole lives changed into this really, really
- 1:05:12challenging adventure that they had to go on.
- 1:05:14And this five years ago or six years ago, pre COVID to talk
- 1:05:23about vaccines, you, you wouldn't even be able to have a
- 1:05:26platform. In 2025, you were the president
- 1:05:30of the United States. Whatever you think of him and
- 1:05:33Bobby Kennedy Junior, whatever you think of him, they're
- 1:05:35talking about it. And and Trump said today he
- 1:05:40goes, this is the most important thing that I want my
- 1:05:44administration to be known for, to find out what is causing the
- 1:05:52chronic childhood illness. I'm not really a hugely
- 1:05:57emotional person, but I was driving to the surf, watching
- 1:05:59the live thing, but tears in my eyes.
- 1:06:02And then listening to some of the parents that he got out
- 1:06:04talking about their vaccine injured children.
- 1:06:06Tears in my eyes because I know this is such a pivotal moment
- 1:06:10and such an emotional thing for so many people.
- 1:06:13And I text Bobby afterwards. I said, mate, like so proud of
- 1:06:17you, brother, I love you. Like, fuck, you brought tears to
- 1:06:19my eyes today. And, and he responded, but it's
- 1:06:23awesome. Sometimes we don't know the,
- 1:06:27the, the reason that things happen at particular points in
- 1:06:32time. We don't know what the reason
- 1:06:34why things are happening now as well.
- 1:06:37But I I like to sit in trust and acceptance, have my personal
- 1:06:46boundaries as well, and identify what they are and take the
- 1:06:54actions where I need to. And yeah, I'm not sure how I'm
- 1:07:02going with this, but each and every one of us has a part to
- 1:07:05play in this show, in this reality.
- 1:07:10And some will be out there, the fighters and the, and the people
- 1:07:14that are like the Kennedys and the Trump's and the sailors and
- 1:07:19the spetskies and yourself that are actually, you find you're
- 1:07:24the thing that you're passionate about and you're very talented
- 1:07:28at doing what you do. And this is your creative
- 1:07:31expression. And we can have many.
- 1:07:34It doesn't just have to be 111 facet or one outlet of that
- 1:07:38creative expression. I think this is this is the, the
- 1:07:41what I like to invite people. We can wear so many fucking hats
- 1:07:44in our reality. We do not need to be defined by
- 1:07:47one action or one thing or one career or 11 label.
- 1:07:53And we all have a part to play in this, this beautiful game of
- 1:08:00life. And I know I'll go back to it.
- 1:08:04I know the Bitcoiners are going to be so influential in the
- 1:08:08potentiality of the beauty of the human species and what and,
- 1:08:16and to envision what is possible to create systems and
- 1:08:21environments and communities that I believe will be free of
- 1:08:26this corruption and greed and manipulation that has existed
- 1:08:31for some would say centuries, some would say millennia.
- 1:08:35But I feel like with with this, we're cracking the code, so to
- 1:08:39speak right now. Again, the glitch in the matrix,
- 1:08:42it's it's happened. It's happened, yes, and I'm just
- 1:08:47so excited to see what's going to happen from this point
- 1:08:50forward. There's a term in evolutionary
- 1:08:54biology called punctuated equilibrium, and it's when a
- 1:08:58species sort of adapts in an evolutionary sense to a thing
- 1:09:03and it just happens. It's already happened.
- 1:09:04By the time you observe it, it's already happened.
- 1:09:07It's gone. It's gone way past it.
- 1:09:10And then it's just a matter of trying to catch up and put the
- 1:09:12threads of the puzzle pieces together.
- 1:09:14But I mean, ultimately we're kind of carving that that path.
- 1:09:19And some are rivers and some are creeks, some are tributaries,
- 1:09:22but we're all going to the same place and we're all trying to
- 1:09:25make a positive contribution along that journey.
- 1:09:29However we're carving that path. And it's a choice too, because I
- 1:09:34think you're going to have a completely different reality to
- 1:09:38if you're a person that watches and exposes yourself to the
- 1:09:41energy of a current affair, then you are.
- 1:09:44If you expose yourself to the energy of a Ramdas, for
- 1:09:47instance, or a Ramdas lecture or something like that.
- 1:09:50And you're gonna you're that's gonna shape your reality in ways
- 1:09:53that you probably aren't even aware, particularly if you are
- 1:09:55of of the lean of 7:00. I better TuneIn.
- 1:10:00And you know, you're gonna you're gonna be exposed to a
- 1:10:02whole lot of a lot of things and you're going to think that
- 1:10:05there's problems in the world and maybe there'll be something
- 1:10:07on the on the TV, you know, this evening where, you know, Trump
- 1:10:11said that Tylenol causes autism. And it's like, well, he didn't
- 1:10:15say that. And even you before, when you
- 1:10:17even mentioned the word Trump and Robert Kennedy as it, you
- 1:10:21still had to be like, I sort of couch it in clarifying like,
- 1:10:24well, you know, and whatever you think about it, because it's I
- 1:10:27hate that we have to always take that diverse it like that detour
- 1:10:31just to sort of get back to the point.
- 1:10:34Like because it's framed through the filter of Trump or framed
- 1:10:37through the filter of these people that were quote UN quote,
- 1:10:39not supposed to like we have to waste our time saying, oh, and
- 1:10:45just I'm look, it doesn't matter.
- 1:10:47You know what you think. And, and, and I'm not
- 1:10:49necessarily the greatest fan. Like that is such a waste of
- 1:10:52time because ultimately #1 He didn't say that that thing that
- 1:10:55you're reporting on and leading with in the headline and #2
- 1:10:59like, who cares? Like they're all politicians and
- 1:11:02they're all, you know, like from that form when when they're
- 1:11:06formless, like inhabits that form of a politician.
- 1:11:09They're horrible people, but they also are just human beings
- 1:11:12on the planet trying to serve and be of service.
- 1:11:15And I think that's, that's the the bill and end all.
- 1:11:18I could go on and I could rant for for the rest of the
- 1:11:21afternoon. I won't.
- 1:11:24I got one last question before we bring this in the land, Pete.
- 1:11:27Awesome that I'm cooking fish. What does Bitcoin mean to you?
- 1:11:33Bitcoin is what does it mean to me?
- 1:11:35Well, I think we've covered that in so many different ways, to be
- 1:11:42honest with you. What does it mean to me mean?
- 1:11:50What does it mean to me? Wow, that's an interesting
- 1:11:54question. How about this no comment?
- 1:12:06No, I was going to say no comment.
- 1:12:07Extrapolate everything we've just talked about over the last
- 1:12:10hour or so, and that is what means to you.
- 1:12:12How about we'll reframe it? If you could articulate Bitcoin
- 1:12:17in one word, what would that be? I, I did 2-2 words and which
- 1:12:27we've we've touched on and you, you touched on so beautiful
- 1:12:31infinite potential. Bitcoin to me, represents
- 1:12:36infinite potential. That is one of the best ways to
- 1:12:42end the podcast. Pete, thank you for spending
- 1:12:45some scarce time, finite energy telling us the tale of how you
- 1:12:47discovered Bitcoin. It's been a pleasure and honour.
- 1:12:51Right, I've loved this. Thank you so much and anything
- 1:12:54that resonates. Happy days everything but
- 1:12:56doesn't. Happy days as well.
- 1:12:58Love you all. Thank you for having me and DJ.
- 1:13:01You're a legend brother. Thank you.
