- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go on everybody.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: Just getting myself prepared because it's been a long day.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: But hey, I still keeping up with my bills.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure everything's good at camp.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I'm here in a new burn area of North Carolina on vacation spending time out here in a beautiful rural countryside.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, it's nice out here.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: So me and the family decided that we were going to come out here and.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: And fish and enjoy nature.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: So here we are enjoying the nature that is and.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's talk about some built buffalo bills football.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: As you see, the name of the show is the key on Coleman show, but after today and finding out things that we found out, it's not the key on Coleman show as much as I thought it would be.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like he's had an excellent week.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: I see you guys in the comments go, good evening, Izzy, mafia family, good evening Sandra.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: Kim, what's up man?
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: How you doing?
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're here to,
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: So now speak about more than just key on Coleman, because it was going to be mostly about him.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: And he's had an excellent week.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's been body in our corners.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's lost some reps obviously, like, you know, you tend to do.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: But key on Coleman's been out there just dog walk as some of his wider seabers.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: And having himself a stellar, stellar camp.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Now there's going three days left in this camp in Rochester for the Buffalo Bills.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that it's going to be an eventful three days.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Job Robert up in here.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: H. E. Pinesa had a nice day.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: He had an interception for a touchdown on the past and tie Johnson from
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Allen.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: He also had a would be sack on Josh Allen.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: And he was more focused on improvement and the negative stuff.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: He was like, you know, I forgot to even had that interception.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I forgot to even had, you know, the sack.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, I'm more worried about the rips that are lost against the endocons.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, buddy, come on, you're going to loosen reps, especially against the endocons.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the endocons are guy who
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: is one of the top five left tackles in the NFL.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's very few left tackles who could say that they're even on his level level on better.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: Trent Williams is probably the one that sticks out the most.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: happiness uh keep it up you know if if nothing else you increase trade value but if you know you keep doing this you're gonna see the field a lot more than than what a lot of bills fans thought you would the muffler bills are usually guys who go with the best talent on the field and so yeah i'm very very happy with seeing as you happen this is performance today i'm very happy to hear about it and so really
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: understand that the way I've felt about as you have been as is probably the right way because I like as you have been as a you know place forty percent of the snaps and he gets you four you know six to seven sex every year so yeah I'm here for it and uh yeah key on common again though key on common was out there just ripping those routes and again he doesn't create great separation but key he
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: as a good, like, in a lesson, we call it a wizard, you know, when you can kind of reap your arm under somebody's else's arm and kind of, you know, ripped them away from you without pushing off because you can't push off, but you can, you can hook.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: And he's, he's really, really good, you know, at working with in small spaces, one out of one.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, against the Requel in last year, again, Seattle was a really good example of what that looks like.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: And so now that he's put on some some strength, a little bit of mass, like he was, he was never really fast to get with other, you know, top and speed.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: Separation is not really his bag.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: So instead of doing the whole, let's try and get quicker and lighter, he's like to help with that.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: Let's get bigger and stronger.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: So that way when it comes time to it, when it's this fifty fifty balls in the air, it's a seventy thirty ball.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like you're not getting this ball over me.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to have to really out physical.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: And you're just not going to happen, not right now.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's basically trying to turn himself into like Brandon Marshall type deal.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you got a lot of you guys remember him.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: I know some of you guys are my age or older, but some of you guys aren't.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of you guys don't pay attention to football outside of Buffalo, but some of you guys do.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: And so if you remember Brandon Marshall, where he was in the Broncos and the Jets and you know the dolphins, he's been all over the league.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: He was Ryan Fitzpatrick, favorite target when he was with the jets.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll tell you what, if Keon Coleman can turn himself into something like that, that's going to be nasty.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be nasty.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: Now, there were some injuries that occurred.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, Khalil Shakir had himself a high ankle sprain, which is not a injury that's new to Khalil Shakir.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: He usually is healthy, but
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: Last year when he got hurt, it was a high ankle sprain this year.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's hurt luckily very, very early.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: He knows the offense already.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: This is basically built around him.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: He can be injured right now and let the younger guys get some reps and he should be fine.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm I'm okay with glistaker being
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: hurt at this point.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: It would suck more if it was like preseason week two or three.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: And then he got hurt and then he's going to miss some regular season time with this.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: He should not miss any regular season time.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: He should be back in time for the regular season.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: So that's, you know, looking up.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: We had Cole Bishop.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's injured on the engine report now.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: Shack Thompson's on the engine report now.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: So we were the injuries starting to stack up.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: And so now we're seeing more Joe and Jason and we're starting to see in more bail and specter who I'm sure in about fifteen minutes will also be popping up on the injury report.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's a concern at this point that we have so many injuries, but the people who are injured.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: or newly injured less concerning, except for a closure here.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: And even though his injuries isn't really that serious, but the man that stole the day, and I see it already, Sandra, I don't think I'm overlooking your comment.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: James Cook has begun his holding.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a holdout, right?
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: Because he showed it to camp.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: He cannot be fined and he's going to hold in.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: Which a lot of people thought he would do and then when he came up and started practicing and people thought, oh, well, holding in is not what he's going to be doing.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to go up to practice and he said, I like my money and then it got quiet.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: All right, things got quiet with our boy James Cook.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: People weren't talking about it as much.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: And so now,
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: the pot must be stirred.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the the cool aid must be sweetened and the holding begins.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: And well, you know, some of us saw this coming and some of us did not.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: Some of us thought that James Cook was going to be a guy who, you know, just does the stand-up thing and practices every practice and
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: Does everything that has asked of him?
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of, but to this point, he has, but today is the day where he's like, I want my contracts and I want my money and you can't take any of my money that I already have now.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: So let's get this deal done.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, the worry about James Cook has now stepped up a little bit.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: People are, you know, so I want trading James Cook and some fans are like, hey,
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you sign this contract, but you know, honor it.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: And teams don't necessarily do that whole honoring contract either.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know, once you're guaranteed money is up, and you know how the bills do in their contracts, the bills usually add an out to their contracts, right?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: So you'll sign a contract for four years and after a year or two, it doesn't out.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: They can, they can swiftly and abruptly show you the door, save a whole bunch of money, and bring somebody else in.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: Nest and nature of how the bills do their contracts.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know it beforehand, though.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: There's no bait and switch with the bill's contracts.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know when you sign that contract, after a couple of years, there is a potential cut.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then if they cut you or retain you is really up to you and your play.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: There's no mystery as to how the Buffalo bill is kind of their business.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: Look at some of these comments here.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, John Robert comes in with Ryan Neeson will help the defense.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: I hope so, you know, because the defense last year,
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: Good turnovers piss for, you know, overall production.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: It was bad.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we were thirty first in a bunch of categories, like third downs, like how many third downs we had given up, you know, to get a new set of downs.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: How many how often teams got into the red zone?
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there was a lot of stuff that was just pissed poor by the defense last year.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: So hopefully, you know, whatever help we can get, we get because it was not pretty last year.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: And we need this defense to improve.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: And we did bring in guys, Joey Vosa, you know, Brandon Jackson, TJ Sanders, Dion Walker, who's having a
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: pretty pretty good camps surprisingly to me because I was not the unwalker guy, but also Larry Ogon-Joby Michael Hoyt will be suspended.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: They're having solid camps, you know, they're running well so with the twos though, twos and threes, they'll see more time later on, but as of right now the story of the weekend is the Egyrgykulishikir, Kian Coleman just straight up up using DBs and
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: the holding now from James Cook.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: We look even further down the line, right?
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I have more of you guys comments.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: So here we go.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: Hoping very much that key on Coleman is the real deal.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: I keep my hopes up and check.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Though after McKenzie dominated in camp if you, yeah, I get you.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like every now we have that camping darling.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's what Keyon Coleman is.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: Keyon Coleman's actually done some things in the regular season to show us that he is a player who can play in the NFL.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: And hopefully he goes forward to the shows that he's got, who should be playing in the NFL.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: And so should be playing at a high level.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: And his capable of being a top receiver for a team.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: Now I'm saying, he's going to become a number one large server, you know, like a step on digs or the Mark Cooper was.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: Am I hoping he does?
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: That would be nice, right?
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: After we were signing, like if we, if he gives us three years and we're like, okay, this is what you're worth.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: We go off from the contract, he signs it and then takes off.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be great with that every, every, something I'm happy about, but we'll see what happens progressing.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: And hopefully he keeps on progressing.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: I see a Brennan bean will just end up getting a compensatory for James Cook.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he will get a compensatory for James Cook, and that's fine.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: But if he trades him away, like everybody's talk about Mike Parsons and going to get him.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: Well, if you trade in Japanese, you save six million dollars.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: If you trade James Cook, you say five, I think it is.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: So if you say five and six, that's eleven.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: that gives you room to sign someone like a like a Parsons, but then you're gonna definitely have to make some adjustments to the future.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: Am I saying this gonna happen?
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's highly unlikely that it happens.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: But you just never know what they do because there's rumors already that the Buffalo Bills have been interested in
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: in him, and there's also rumors about a terrible chlorine, which I think is less likely.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think that age of the, the Micah Parsons target would be one that they look at more seriously, but, you know, no one's a, no one's doubting that.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you're not interested in, in Micah Parsons, you don't know ball period.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if the Buffalo bills were to get rid of James Cook,
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: He has three, three hundred fifty five thousand dollars in dead cap space.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: We save over five million trading or cutting them.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think we're going to cut them obviously.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: He's an asset, but it's a thing.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: So you trade them and you put an effort necessary to sweeten the pot.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: That way dials gets a pass by your back.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: You send them a couple of first-round picks.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: Boom.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, so Taylor rep has knee injury.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think I saw that too, but it's a lot of information that I've been taking in all day and trying to remember after a whole day of fishing, but I do appreciate the help.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: John Robert, you always hear to help.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: See, I'd take that train any day, but you're right, we probably won't happen.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: It probably won't happen because
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: just down the line.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: We're looking for that reprieve.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: But if it was to happen, I think that Bill's fans will be fine with it.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if you're going to take your shot at a defensive end to help push your team over the proverbial edge, you'll want to go get one that's young.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: Micah Parsons is young.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I got one hair over here.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's all white in mustache, messing it all up everybody else.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: But you send AJ happiness and you send James Cookail.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: You send somebody else.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's worth the damn.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: And has a contract that's tradable.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: And man, oh man, you get yourself a dog like Mike Parsons.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like who would complain about that?
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: I know I wouldn't.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be happy as hell.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be happy with the picking crap.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: Put that up there.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, let's see.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I have a NASA.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's in someone.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like a day-quan Jones, probably say a little money.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: Or Elijah Moore.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: There's options.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you just get a guy's listing that can be traded.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: See, the Cowboys should welcome the Buffalo Bill's players and culture into their locker room.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: It would be a huge upgrade for them.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like,
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: The Buffalo Bill's players going to Dallas would be players that know what winning football currently looks like in the NFL, not like what Jerry did back in the nineties.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: This is in nineteen ninety six.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: This is not nineteen ninety two.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think three, like this is not those years where you have Emmett Smith and Troy Ekman and all those guys on that team that were basically just co-cads winning Super Bulls and, you know, just partying it up.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's now it's a new era.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: social media.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: So you can't just go out there and be, you know, wrecking shop.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: You can't conceal an incident like Michael Orvin stabbing an offensive lineman in the neck for the pair of scissors because he won't get up from a barber's shooting.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: There's nowhere to hide from that nowadays.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: So it's different.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, just having guys who know what today's winning cultures look like, it would be very impressive.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: probably to a lot of players in that locker room and helping them build, especially in AJ Appanesa, who he just kind of exudes leadership to me.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: He just seems like even though he's not the guy who is, you know, putting up all the numbers, he just feels like a calming presence.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I would throw a next year's first persons would get us over the edge first and will.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think so too.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I would, I'm not saying throw in next year's first.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: Next year's first is a requirement in this trade.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: If you trade up a Nessa and James Cook to Dallas for Microparsons, that's not it.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's not a, that's not a heads up tray like that.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: No, he's worth them to and then probably two first brown picks.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's not a, that's not a cheap trade at all.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like you're going to have to give them a couple of players and then you're going to give them a couple first brown picks.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: This is, this would be a serious trade.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: And you're talking about getting nothing but Micah Parsons back in this trade.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_00]: So you're trading assets and trying to get one of the big dogs in the NFL, but that big dog is nasty.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's nasty.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, trade happiness.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: If it's for like a Micah Parsons, yeah, like I like happiness on the team, but we have a bounty of defensive ends on this team.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: Sandra King reports our bills and cook are not that far apart.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: Number wise.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: Pain should be able to get done.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: So the number that they're far apart on is guarantees from what I understand, but that could have been a rumor.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: That's not true.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm hoping that they get there.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: But if not, you know, I don't think many bills friends want to see a sign James Cook to a deal that's worth a fifteen plus per year.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: Unless it's like they said like a safe one deal like where you got the extension and it was like a two year deal for that much prettier that way you're not on the hook for that much you know you can kind of guarantee half of it and then two years fifteen I mean that might work but then they got to put a bunch of void years probably at the end depending on how big the cap goes up so we'll see what happens there Parsons not going anywhere Jerry Joe's told fans not to lose any sleep
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: Jerry Jones always does this.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: He does it to his best players where they come do their money and he doesn't really want to get it done early.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: So he ends up paying the maximum price because he's a freaking idiot.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, that's how Jerry Jones operates.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: He did it to the Marcus Lawrence.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: He did it to, uh, frickin' is he Q Eliot.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: He did it to CD Lamb.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: He did it to Brook Des Brian.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's done it to all of his best players.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: That press got.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, and these are guys who a lot of Bill's friends would like, oh, that sucks.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's a pretty damn good quarterback.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's not, he's not Josh on level, but he's pretty damn good.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: And that's, that's where that's that.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, if you're, if you're going to get, if you're going to pay somebody, don't wait for the last minute.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: Look at the, look what the Bill's did, right?
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: Before this year, before they're last year in Buffalo, Bill's uniforms, Kalisha Kier to Robert and our Christian Benford,
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: You know, all guys who wanted to be here, totally wanted to be here, and we haven't got the deals in early.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: The Eagles are the same way.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: They got ahead of Safe Juan Barclays.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: Last year on his contract, they said, hey, look though, two more years on there for you for four to two million dollars.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: How's that sound chief?
- 19:53[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, twenty one million a year.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do it.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: I just paid running back in the NFL.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's the Cowboys always screw this up because Jerry Jones.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: The brand of being will not trade to first rompix.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: I will agree to disagree with that one.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: If you get to the right person, I bet you he would.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: Just because he hasn't done it yet, doesn't mean he will never do it.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's where I stand on that one.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: Sounds good to me, Sandra.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: There we go.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: The Jerry Jones pays more than he needs to.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_00]: He always does.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: There's always always always always always always freaking holding money hostage against his players and like do those are your best dudes.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: Why are you doing that?
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't make any sense.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_00]: But you know, it is what it is.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like Cook feels disrespectful because the other guys in that drive class all got extended this off season and he wanted higher than Benford in order to secure.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: He's not worth more than Benford Bernard or Shakir.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: Well, maybe Bernard.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: Bernard's a linebacker, so their numbers are a little bit, you know.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_00]: But more money than Shakir, Shakir's a receiver.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a premium position.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: more money than Benford, Benford's a corner.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's a premium position.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, but run it back is just not that anymore.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's not how that works.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: And so you can feel that way, but
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: the numbers just don't lie.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: The Parsons is worth two firsts and those players agreed.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not saying I don't like those players.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like I offer those two players up for just some bum, right?
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: For Mike Parsons, those two players in two first round picks, you are absolutely on the money with this and I'm going to propose the deal to say throwing in this year's first is out of the side of
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: out of pocket because this year's first run pick coming up would have to be in the deal.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just saying he was drafted higher second run.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I get it.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: You know, but what what what was the numbers that they got?
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like the guys who were drafted in the same class he got the day that they got fifteen million per year that they get less than that because they're lesser players, right?
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: James Cook is going to be probably a tier above those guys.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: But to think that he's, you know, better than those guys, it's crazy to me.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: Unless you're talking about non-running boxes, I might be misreading what you're saying.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so now I'm looking, I'm gonna look at it from a different lens.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I could build this perspective because the other guys in that draft class all got extended this option.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so you're talking about the guys in the Buffalo Bills draft class that year got, okay.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: And that's, that's fine.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, that's fine.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: But again, the position is, is what it is, you know, like you're not going to pay an outside linebacker, you know, thirty million dollars.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to happen.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that person is going to have to be Ray Lewis, like he's going to have to be a super beast of a linebacker to really be able to
- 23:17[SPEAKER_00]: and get that money.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_00]: You only see guys at non-premium positions makes stupid money when they are just so ridiculously good that they're undeniable, like say quambarkly like Derek Henry.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: Those guys are undeniable players like these.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_00]: There's no way that you can just say, hey, we're going to offer you a contract and it's going to be a dog shit contract.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: And we're like, well, they're best to run a vaccine in a field.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: The argument can be made.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_00]: James Cook and just as many touchdowns as Derek Henry, but Derek Henry had like nine hundred more yards total.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: Then Derek and James Cook so when you add up everything and then the amount of snaps that they take and then the amount of you know value they bring as a whole James Cook's not in that ballpark with those guys and I get it, you know I Let me think it with Toro Bernard's deal was again because I'd be forgetting So Toro Bernard His dead cap now is fourteen million dollars
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: Look at that attract.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: So he is currently under contract until it's twenty thirty, which is a void year.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: We have an out in his contract in twenty twenty eight.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: He signed a four year forty two million dollar deal.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_00]: If James Cook made more than
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: to open art, I wouldn't be mad at it.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_00]: Again, linebacker was one of the positions I mentioned.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, to open art is a middle linebacker for us, but we don't have a true mic.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: He's truly just a guy who gets the headset.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, if he got more than to open art per year, I wouldn't be mad at that.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: But if you got more than Christian Benford, a Kalishikir, you're out of your freaking mind.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: Not you, but the bills would be.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_00]: They'd be out of their freaking mind to do that.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm looking at now.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: James Cook, Joey Bosa, Joshua Palmer.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: Where are you, man?
- 25:14[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_00]: Check here.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: He just signed a for your fifty three million dollar contract.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_00]: So that's
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm going to have just over thirteen million dollars per year.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: A red around, a red around fourteen million dollars a year.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: If he gets paid somewhere between those two guys through open art and and a cliche here, I'd be okay.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_00]: If he got paid more and she's here, I'd be a little bit like really.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, but
- 26:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not here trying to kind of as money either, so.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Bean isn't paying him what he wants.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'll miss him though.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_00]: Best back we've had since shady.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: I agreed with that.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: I agree with that.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: And look, I get it.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: Money is important, you know, but it is a business.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_00]: So life goes on.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: You can never run them back and you keep pushing.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: James Cook can be in that ballpark if we use him like that.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: We don't use it exactly reason why I don't think he's going to get the money that he feels he deserves and maybe maybe he does deserve it.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe if he gave more carries, he'd put up two thousand yards.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he's a CJ two K type guy who if he just ran a hell out of him, he'd put, you know, that's those numbers up.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: But here's the thing.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you guys remember CJ two K very fast running back.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_00]: The column CGA two cake has Chris Johnson ran for two thousand yards in a season one of only eight or nine backs to ever do that.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: And after that two thousand yards season, it didn't last much longer.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but one or two more good years.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_00]: And then it was time to go.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: And so you can't run James Cook like like like that.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: You couldn't run CJ two K like that.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't last.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: So he got paid after that.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: And then the team sitting here holding hold a big ol' bag of dog shit and nothing to show for it because why?
- 27:27[SPEAKER_00]: Because well, you paid a running back after he just put all that mileage on them wheels.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: can't do that.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_00]: And so you got to run James Cooper where you're running him because he's very very productive while doing it, but you also got to pay him accordingly.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: And so somebody might overpay for him, but then he's going to go to a bad team with a bad old line in the
- 27:47[SPEAKER_00]: you know, maybe a decent quarterback.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's not going to have a good receivers quarterback and online on that team.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: He might have good receivers and the bad quarterback and a medium oliner.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's going to be some combination that's not going to be conducive to him being good on the field.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_00]: And he needs to go somewhere where he is going to see fifty percent of the other reception of the runs and then get that money that's conducive to that.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, think if he looked at it more of a economical way,
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: But the amount of work he's putting in the offers that he's getting are correct.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now it would be screwed up.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: if the buffalo bills paid him, twelve and a half million a year and then ran him sixty five percent and he got a you know a fifteen to twenty percent up tick in the amount of calories he's carrying.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_00]: But I hope like I took a discount right because you know I thought I was worth fifteen but you guys are like I'm only getting forty five percent in the snaps and then you're sitting in me here and then.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_00]: Paying me this and then all of a sudden not that you've gotten the deal you want to.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_00]: give me sixty five percent of the workload like no, like we're going back to where I was at.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a lot of factors that go into this.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_00]: So let's see what happens.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_00]: You could give it holding in gives Ray Davis more reps.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: And look, last year I was in I was impressed with Ray Davis.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure a lot of you guys were too.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_00]: He cook at five yards per carry.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: Davis had four.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: But some of those catches Ray Davis was making
- 29:18[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think cook makes those catches like that one catch where he has the one hander for the first down.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_00]: Josh out of escaping.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then that's sixty nine yard touchdown reception against the dolphins like James could catch a sixty nine yard touchdown reception.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: But is he doing it the way Ray Davis did?
- 29:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then is he catching that laid out ball like Ty Johnson did against the Broncos like no.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_00]: but are those two guys gonna take it sixty five yards in the snow against the the forty nineers and no one catcher and you look at him and he like he's moving just as fast in the snow as he would be on the grass flips into the end zone like that electricity is there that electricity's there but man the negotiations I'm sure are tough and so if the number isn't far apart like someone said earlier
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: If you're not far apart, just get the field done.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, I got the BS.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_00]: Get it done.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_00]: So the guy I'm most anxious to see play in the regular season is Japan Solomon.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's giving going to be very special.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_00]: He is doing very well in camp, right?
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: Still not great against the run.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_00]: But if you have third and eighteen,
- 30:40[SPEAKER_00]: you're sticking them out through a bosa baby.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: You have to.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_00]: You're sticking them out through a bosa.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: You're having those two guys just.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, go, go, go.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_00]: So that way, they can get to the quarterback and stop my homes.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: Simple as that.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_00]: Javansalman's got a great first step.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_00]: He had sixteen sexes last year in college.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: The dude is a sex specialist, but he is an off-the-ball linebacker coming to the NFL to play defensive end.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: You can literally just let him play off-the-ball linebacker as if he is a defensive end.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: Then you got Bosa, your two defensive tackles, and in him standing,
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: and just let him rush.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_00]: Lorenzo Lexander style, like we've been talking about with Michael Hoyt.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you could have a combination of different combinations of things about time in the years, said and done.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_00]: But let's say it's him and up a nest out there.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: Up a nest is also very good at rushing the passer.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say, you know, our boyjoy both is tired or you know, it's serious down where you really need a high percentage guy.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: Javansalman can get there man.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_00]: I really do like Javansalman's game.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's been very, very good in camp thus far.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: And he's been showing a lot of promise.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I love the way we're interacting with these comments, guys, because you guys are reminding me of stuff that I might be forgetting during the show.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: So keep in common, like this is fun.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: So James, trade James Cook in two first round picks for Michael Parsons.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: You'd also have to throw in like an AJ at Vanessa.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: We did have this conversation earlier in the show.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you were here for it, but my proposal was AJ at Vanessa James Cook and two first round picks.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Parsons.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_00]: That way you send them back defensive end.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_00]: We have way too many defensive ends and also two first round picks in James Cook is not enough compensation for Mike and Parsons.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's just not.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: But you can go back after I'm done with the show and check it out.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_00]: That was a whole like ten minute, you know, skit on here of me just rambling about it.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_00]: Hell, Cook can't kick a field goal.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like Davis did.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_00]: Davis did kick a thirty one yard field goal in camp.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: So we Jay Ray Davis is giving us, you know, multi-positional.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_00]: usage, or what's the worst of what I'm looking for here?
- 32:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's escaping my mind.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: Versatility, position, versatility.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: See, let's appreciate last year with Cook because we do not, we do have an amazing RB room with Davis and Johnson as well.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_00]: Hoping that Steve said, what Steve has said is true, and Solomon can be special, maybe learn some shit from Hoyt.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: And don't forget both of, like,
- 33:19[SPEAKER_00]: There's another dog in the room and that's Joey Bosa.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: Joey Bosa is another guy who can really go out there and teach some of these younger cats how to do stuff, right?
- 33:27[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be interesting.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know, what these guys can learn from these older gentlemen will be running.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_00]: I know, he'll tell me like, twenty six, twenty seven years old, but he's been in league for like four or five years for the Rams.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: And so he can drop some knowledge, but don't don't don't don't slip on both of them.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_00]: Don't sit on both, so both is a guy who can really teach these young guys.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's another reason why they brought him in, not just to go out there and be the difference maker, but also to help teach our young guys to be different, different makers too.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of different ways to contribute to a team.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_00]: Twelve and a half million dollars means he's definitely going to be on the field, but I definitely think that he's going to be a guy who helps teach these young cats.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_00]: Sandra, one hundred one hundred percent on something, I don't know what it is, but yeah.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: And Christopher Homer,
- 34:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's because James Cook was score the touchdown.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's true James Cook scores touchdowns and lots of them.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't always though remember last year not twenty four but twenty three season he only had like six total touchdowns rushing and passing in the year before that he only had like four so
- 34:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's grown into this player.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: And let's see if he can maintain it, too.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like if he goes out this year, I don't know if he scores eighteen touchdowns this year.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he will score eighteen touchdowns.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_00]: That's a high number for any running back period.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_00]: He goes out there and scores twelve touchdowns.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like the price tag goes up.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: He goes up.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_00]: At that point, they can franchise tag if they want to, which is also an option.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_00]: And also, I wanted to say that I appreciate the last year with James Kirk.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was Greg Rikalsky, but the franchise tag is an option.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: But they go, they go to Greg again.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_00]: See, I don't even want to speak his name.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm scared of jinxing him.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: See, I like that James Cook has learned every year.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_00]: James Cook has learned every year.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I was saying.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_00]: He increased his touches.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: He increased his touchdowns.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_00]: He increased his yardage from year one to year two, but your three yardage was down, but efficiency was up.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_00]: So he turned on the efficiency.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_00]: And all of a sudden, James Cook looks like a world leader, but I think a lot of that has to do with the scheme.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Joe Brady's a guy whose scheme is really good.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's really good.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see what the estimate value is.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_00]: James Cook.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_00]: Market value for James Cook.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_00]: Ten point two million dollars every day.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_00]: No salary.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_00]: According to SpotTrack, Market value for a year is forty million dollars or forty one million dollars roughly.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: They have a comparable value with Josh Jacobs.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_00]: They've been going to be Tony Pollard, and say, well, I'm barking.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know about those last two.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's pretty crazy.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_00]: Tony Pollard way lower than James Cook and say, well, I'm barking way higher.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_00]: But they've been Montgomery and Josh Jacobs, like the Josh Jacobs deal looks perfect.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: twelve million dollars a year, forty eight million dollars four years.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_00]: That I mean that that would be a perfect deal for me.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_00]: If they can get him on the Josh Jacobs deal.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: Look me up, maybe.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: See, I agree, but he's very tough to bring down.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_00]: Look at the rapes game.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: You talk about if you talk about James Cook still.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he is very tough to bring down.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: You're not armed tackling him.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: And he's he put on some weight from what I understand to be able to bounce off of people more and last year you saw that like
- 37:40[SPEAKER_00]: even in Lion's game, someone got, they got him with a hair, and he was just like, he's built up some core strength, and so that's good.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's also maintained the speed, so that's good.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, don't they have to be a first run pick to get the franchise tag?
- 37:57[SPEAKER_00]: No, so you think in the fifth year option.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_00]: So a first run pick, just like every other round signs a four year deal with the team that picks them.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_00]: Now, first run picks and first run picks only.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: get a fifth year option.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_00]: So after the first three years of that contract, the team that drafted them can say, OK, we like what we're seeing.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go ahead and enact the fifth year option.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_00]: Right, having that to the third year, which is also the year that become eligible for an extension.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_00]: So usually if a player is worth that fifth year option, usually.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_00]: They're getting extension and the fifth year option will be an extra year of border before the big deal comes in.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_00]: So like when Josh Allen's third year happened, you know, his first year was Stefan Diggs and his numbers just skyrocketed.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_00]: The Buffalo Bill said, let's get ahead of this.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go ahead and enact that fifth year option.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: Bam.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: And then we're going to sign them to this massive, you know, six year, two hundred and I think it was two hundred twenty six million at the time.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_00]: and get ahead of it.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: And Josh was perfectly fine for it, but as they say, the new contract doesn't kick in until that year, that six year, right?
- 39:11[SPEAKER_00]: So with the player like James Cook, who's the second round pick, he doesn't have a fifth year option.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_00]: So the franchise tag is what they will be able to use for him.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now, let's say you have a team that in a rare case, when they do a fifth year option, but they don't get a deal, don't that player.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_00]: Use these happens with quarterbacks.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: They're quarterback kind of team can't agree to contract because the team got to kind of forward it or whatever it is or it's not positive.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_00]: They just want one more year to tell or two, you know, they can franchise tag that player and keep them on longer.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: Miss, when you franchise tag someone, you have to pay them.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_00]: I believe it is the average annual salary of the top five players in that position.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_00]: You look at quarterbacks.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_00]: You take two Colomary, Josh Allen, Jill and Hertz and Joe Burrow's contracts.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think of the top QB contracts at this point.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: The average annual salary of all those.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_00]: So you take all those average amount.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's the franchise tag.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_00]: The offensive line makes it look better.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_00]: How would he be with a battle line?
- 40:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_00]: You know, these freakin' nets keep hitting my nose.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: A good ol' line.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: We have the second or third best offensive line of football.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_00]: The Eagles clearly is the best, right?
- 40:30[SPEAKER_00]: So we're at two or three.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_00]: offensive line-wise.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_00]: And so James Cook is benefiting from that.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_00]: But let's not pretend that we're not also benefiting from the fact that he runs four, four, two speed.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_00]: Let's not pretend like his contact balance isn't outstanding.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_00]: Let's not pretend like he hasn't improved him hands for this past year.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_00]: Let's not pretend like his breakaway speed isn't insane.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's still like, we still have to have the talented back, but you, but you still, but every back still needs an offensive line.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_00]: Very few players, say, on Barclay, push McAfee.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_00]: You can do it with no offensive line.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_00]: That being said, yes, he's benefited from the online, but let's pump our brakes here and act like he's not a big factor now.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_00]: He certainly is.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_00]: Who the F is in charge of our strength and conditioning?
- 41:23[SPEAKER_00]: We can't stay healthy for it.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_00]: So we actually have a new strength and conditioning coach this year.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if it's on him, or if these are just lingering issues from the before.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_00]: But I know that the Charming Dermat hired a new strength and conditioning coach this year.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_00]: So hopefully they can get, you know, get behind this and take care of that because that was, I agree with you, too many injuries.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_00]: Kevin's back in the house.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think the bills will sign cook if so when?
- 41:53[SPEAKER_00]: If not soon, they won't.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_00]: Simple as that.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think, as you said in the next comment, we're doomed.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, they were running back in this draft class.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if the bill said, you know what, he wants his new deal.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_00]: He's talking about his crap.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_00]: Let's trade them now.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_00]: And it's less than the trade them.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_00]: They got like a third rompick.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_00]: They look like the authors that I like.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_00]: They're really, really liked that.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_00]: Went to the teams like Trevor on Henderson.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there was just a bunch of guys who I loved.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_00]: I like judge games, but, you know, we pulled the Ray Rice and here we are.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_00]: So, thank God we didn't pull the trigger on that one, but I also love Ray Davis.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_00]: So, if you look at the very small serving size of Ray Davis starting, which was one game last year when James Cook was injured, Ray Davis had a nice little ninety-seven-yard game.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_00]: Nice little nine seven year old game so you know, I don't I'm not going to count him out nor am I going to say he's a better than cook or it's like dad.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to say anything that's wild.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that James Cook is a damn good one in back.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'd say top, you know, top five to top ten in the NFL.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you've got your tears.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: You've got, you know, say quann, push McAfrey Derek Henry.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_00]: You know, then you got like Jonathan Taylor, you know, you've got a
- 43:12[SPEAKER_00]: James Conner, I think is up there.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, let's see.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_00]: Cook's career.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_00]: Cook's career longevity with the bills without destroying his body, with overused his worth money in itself.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: It is, and it isn't.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_00]: And here's why you still have to get the workload out of him.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_00]: If you pay him a bunch of you get the workload out of him one year, then your shorting is career.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_00]: And that contract becomes stupid.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: So there's just, there's, there's, there's, there's science there.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what's called science.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_00]: See how to write a side, kind of a gover in the James Cook app.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_00]: There's a whole camp for that, and I understand.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: There's also a camp that says, I would rather sign him and David Edwards, you know, and then also after this year, we've got a sign of science torrents.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_00]: Where's this money coming from?
- 44:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I know the caps going to go up, but, you know, we'll see.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_00]: See, we better sign could period A. There's a whole camp for that, too.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_00]: I love James Cook.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what happens.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so you can use the franchise tag on any player.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for explaining.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, any any player.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like I don't remember this, but the commanders, when they were the Redskins, drafted RG-III, and the same draft quest, they drafted Kirk Cousins, right?
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: And so they did not use RG-III's fifth year option.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: They let them walk because of the injury.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: But Kirk Cousins got franchise tagged.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: Twice.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_00]: And he was a fourth rompick.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_00]: So any player can get franchise.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: Even if they weren't drafted by you, let's say, let's say Joey Bosa does dope.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_00]: He's got some void years, but the bills could franchise tag a next year, which I don't think is going to happen.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's a long shot, like a long shot, or let's say,
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: Elijah Moore, you know, goes for twelve hundred yards and eight touchdowns.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: And oh my god, he's our number one guy, you know, Palmer who, like let's say something like that happens.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_00]: The bills could franchise tag him too.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_00]: Ray, Ray, got skills.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_00]: Ray, Ray does got skills.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_00]: He does.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_00]: He kind of hikes the ball to the kind of hikes to the bills, highs, paid player.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's true, but that's, you know,
- 45:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like I get it.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's important, but.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_00]: So a sadocard isn't re-approved and if I'm bringing being told him it is, I do love Dan Fates though.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_00]: Dan Fates is a, is hilarious and, you know, he has some, he has some hot takes that I do and don't like, but I do love me some Dan Fates because he's a character.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_00]: He's a, he's a, he's a very good character.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_00]: I like it.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_00]: See, Bishop is freaking soft.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_00]: I never liked that pick.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_00]: A. Some picks will be for you, and some picks will not.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_00]: I like Col Bishop will see what happens there.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, it's it's not looking great as of right now.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_00]: Being injured again.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_00]: See my point was cook should take a little less to play longer without that.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_00]: So that was a point I was kind of making earlier.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you if you're only seeing forty five percent of snaps, but you're still getting paid and that you know.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_00]: mid-top tier running back and you take your money man and save your body like he's talking about I want more touches like okay maybe you remember how your brother's career kind of was up here and then he he got paid the game more touches than that right there you know it is what it is
- 46:58[SPEAKER_00]: too many running bags get used up quick and live a life of pairing they do they do see this online isn't going to last either appreciate it now we can't keep my government and Edwards one is going I think we keep my government so Edwards is the less expensive option they did draft the center last year my preference is my government because he can play guard and center
- 47:28[SPEAKER_00]: But the business side of this makes it ugly very, very ugly.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_00]: But you know, just because this online doesn't last doesn't mean that we won't have good lines going forward.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Saras Torres, good pick up David Edwards was a, you know, a cheap player.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_00]: The highlight of this offensive line is truly Aaron Kromer, the
- 47:55[SPEAKER_00]: The offensive line coach, where he's able to take players who's dramatically don't fit sometimes and make some fit.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like he just, okay, well, those aristorts are more of a power blocking guy.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like you, you're strong and you're not very fast, but you're strong.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_00]: And you can stone wall people like, you know, Chris Jones from Kansas City.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_00]: You can stone wall people like, you know, quitting Williams from the Jets, but you're not going to be a guy who's able to get out in front of them on a stunt.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_00]: because you're a power dude, you know, like you're just really big and strong.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_00]: And David Edwards, you're, you know, you're more of an agile type offensive lineman, you know, you're good at redirecting people and making sure that they don't get to your quarterback by being in their way.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then, you know, Dion Dawkins, you're more of a foot speed type of guy.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_00]: You get guy who is out there and for three and thirty pounds, your nimble is health.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_00]: Then you look back to that side again, you go, well, Spencer Brown, you are a big massive human being who's very, very strong and have learned how to use that size and strength to, you know, you want the best right tackles and football.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_00]: Those guys don't always fit together on a team, but Aaron Kromer can go to a team and make those guys fit.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's the pizza party's bro.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_00]: It might be the freaking pizza parties.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_00]: The pizza parties are a thing, man.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_00]: The pizza parties are a thing.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: Tyler and Grable played guard today.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go, Tyler and Grable.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: Do I love that pick, man?
- 49:31[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't love him when we drafted him, because I had raw.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_00]: He was, but I was like, it's a six grand pic.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and now he's out here dog walking these kinds of linemen, like, Hell yeah.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_00]: Mm.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_00]: What were the mercy of an active holiday?
- 49:47[SPEAKER_00]: But it's been
- 49:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a good camp in Rochester for these boys, other than injuries.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_00]: Names at wide receiver that I've heard, Christian Wilkinson and Wilkinson and Dion Kane, who we just resigned back to the team.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_00]: He was on the same last year during training camp too.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_00]: And, uh, loan behold, he's back and him and some of these other guys are making noise.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_00]: Last year it was a white Steve.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_00]: as they call them.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_00]: This week is Deon Kane and Christian Wilkerson.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know who's going to be next year next week, but when you have, you know, Curtis Samuel and Kaloshikir hurt, some of these guys are going to get some reps with Josh.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_00]: And apparently, Christian Wilkerson has been having his reps with Josh increased because he's been flashing.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what happens on the title of Shavers is injured, current Samuel's injured, little kids injured, Joshua Palmer got nicked up a little bit.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_00]: Kian Coleman's out there freaking light fires and kicking people's asses into it.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what the hell's going on to him.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like what got in his freaking cereal, but that that dude's on a mission.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_00]: And then
- 51:06[SPEAKER_00]: And these young guys, Josh is just laser beaming it in.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_00]: And apparently, Deon Kane had a nice catch on a sideline, you know, tow drag swag on him.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's been.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_00]: different.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's been fun, but it's been different in campus here.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm very happy with what I'm hearing at the same time, worried about the injuries, and man, just I hope that the positives I'm seeing, stick, I'm hoping that some of the negative stuff that I'm seeing gets sorted out because man, it's going to be crazy.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_00]: There we go.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_00]: John Robert, right here, Stephen Gosnell.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot the last name, but I remember they called him white Steve.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_00]: His reps are increasing also.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_00]: We don't get a lot of information, you know?
- 51:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like, unless you're there, again, I'm in North Carolina.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_00]: I live down here about three hours from home right now in a beautiful spring something.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_00]: What time am I in right now?
- 52:08[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's something I remember the grounds that I'm on spring something, but I mean, Aurora North Carolina.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_00]: So before the degrees right now it's beautiful how they do.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_00]: We got an Airbnb.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_00]: We are above.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_00]: Garage and it's Airbnb.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just woods.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_00]: Love me out here dude.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's awesome.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_00]: Check this out.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm plugged before this is second.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_00]: But out here, by the water, that's the inlet that goes to the ocean.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_00]: If we go that way, the oceans are over there.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_00]: But this is a river here.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's awesome here.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_00]: This is so nice.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_00]: The air is fresh.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's not humid here hot this weekend.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's been hot down here.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_00]: A hundred degrees for like the past week and a half.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_00]: And in this weekend,
- 53:13[SPEAKER_00]: It decides to cool down and give us an awesome vacation weekend, a fishing and hanging household.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_00]: Let's enjoy the weekend.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_00]: But man, I'm hoping that we see some of these guys get out the training room soon.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully the training camp injuries will result in a healthy season.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm hoping that too.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of injuries during training camp.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_00]: We should rest our starters until game one.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_00]: Game one of the regular season, or you tell my game one of Reese's and Chris.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's a big difference.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_00]: The bill's first police season game is Saturday against the Giants.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's a preseason game.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure I watch the highlights.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what happens.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we have a ton of depth.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_00]: The only position I'm really worried about truly right now is linebacker.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_00]: TV seems almost as injury problems Milano.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_00]: We guys behind them.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_00]: Who can play?
- 54:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_00]: Check it out.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_00]: I like Joe and Jason and I like Dorney Williams, but Dorney Williams also came to camp injured.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_00]: If you look at our linebackers, I don't think it's just a Spartan guy.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_00]: But like, look a couple years ago, we had to call AJ Klein to come play next to an also injured Tyler Dodson, Tyrell Dodson, right?
- 54:33[SPEAKER_00]: Tyrell Dodson was injured.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_00]: He played injured.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then AJ Klein came off of the RV to play for us.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about this so many times, but it's like the whole position group seems to get hurt.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_00]: And it's because, in my opinion, we stay
- 54:47[SPEAKER_00]: with smaller linebackers.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_00]: A linebacker smaller dudes.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_00]: They're like, they're two, thirty smaller, usually six, one, six, two.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, they're going against big boys.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_00]: And their abs and flows need a fella, their abs and flows.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like some, you know, sometimes you get a guy like a Ray Lewis or a Brian or a lacquer, you know, you get someone like that who the abs and flows don't affect.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_00]: This dude's just a beast no matter what.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then sometimes you get guys like Matt Milano or like a Dory Williams or Krupper Narb with their twin and twenty six pounds and their bodies doesn't hold up as well when the ev comes and the flow is out.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_00]: So Matt Milano had his ev when he was younger and was just dogging it, but
- 55:35[SPEAKER_00]: transition of the NFL is inevitable when you have big strong run a backs like Derek Henry and say one Berkeley and Jonathan Taylor and name it a little reminder of Stevenson big boy run a back like when you have big boy run a backs running the NFL your linebackers are probably going to get a little bit bigger and then when you get to be get linebacker in the NFL and teams start using smaller backs like James Cook right
- 56:00[SPEAKER_00]: then you got guys who can evade those big boys and hear smaller again.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_00]: There's the shifts and the motions of the NFL.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm ready.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean regular season.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's a long time tonight having in there.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody still have a lot of stuff they have to work on.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, they don't make them like Ray anymore.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_00]: They don't make them like Ray anymore.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_00]: They kind of did though, you know, like Rokuan Smith is a dog.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_00]: If I can Fred Warner is a dog, but, you know, like Ray, Ray, Ray Lewis is like a once in a generation guy.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see if we get another one, try to pull them all away.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_00]: And Ed Reed, like there was two of those, once the generation guys in that generation, that's crazy.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_00]: But what safety have we talked about since those two, who were like, that's the guy right there, got like in the NFL, that's him.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a while lately it's been defensive tackles, you know, Chris Jones and Queen Williams just beast on the defensive line.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of where the focus has been in the last few years.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_00]: But there's going to be another beast of a linebacker that comes up.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_00]: and just takes over the lead.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_00]: There's always been a guy.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_00]: You just don't have that guy right now unless you're talking real quiet Smith.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_00]: Who I think is underrated.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_00]: My opinion.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_00]: See, Michael Hoyt has also played linebackers, so he could be deaf there.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_00]: He could be deaf fellow to plays offensive line between the defensive line on the outside, especially probably probably rushing the inside too, and then at linebacker is a dog.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_00]: like a Bruce.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_00]: We need a Bruce.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_00]: That's truly once in a lifetime.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_00]: Well, two hundred career sex, that's craziness, craziness.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_00]: And then there was him and Reggie White, same era.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_00]: Two hundred sex and one hundred and ninety two sex.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_00]: Crazy.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_00]: But guys, that is my show.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_00]: Go bills.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'll see you guys next week.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_00]: And enjoy your families this weekend.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I've been doing.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_00]: You guys take care.
- 58:07[SPEAKER_00]: Love you all.
