- 0:10Speaker 1: Warning, the Root, the Root, the Roots on fire.

- 0:16Speaker 2: to the metal controversial show of your life. Please buckle
- 0:20Speaker 2: up and hold on tightly. This station is not responsible
- 0:23Speaker 2: for injuries. This is Wayne Alan Roots direct from the
- 0:26Speaker 2: entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas.
- 0:29Speaker 1: What time is it?
- 0:30Speaker 3: It's time war War.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Here's your host, one hundred percent raw truth, one hundred
- 0:37Speaker 2: percent American made the Warrior, Wayne Alan Roots.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Well, here we go, ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Welcome, Welcome, Welcome America from the East Coast all the
- 0:58Speaker 4: way on to the West coast everywhere in between. My
- 1:00Speaker 4: name is Lee Elsie, filling in for the one and
- 1:03Speaker 4: only Wayne Allen Root a few very much needed days
- 1:08Speaker 4: of rest for the King of War. So he'll be
- 1:10Speaker 4: back on Thursday nights. I'll make sure you tune in
- 1:14Speaker 4: for sure Thursday night. But I'm here tonight and tomorrow night.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Was here last night as well.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I want to thank all the folks behind the scenes
- 1:19Speaker 1: for getting us up.
- 1:20Speaker 4: We are all over the place, man, so we're on
- 1:22Speaker 4: all these great radio stations from coast to coast. Also
- 1:26Speaker 4: rumble X get her up on Untamednation dot com as well,
- 1:32Speaker 4: and of course Root for America has it.
- 1:35Speaker 1: And by the way, just to write this down, those of.
- 1:38Speaker 4: You who pay attention to you know when things actually
- 1:41Speaker 4: go viral and explode. On July fourteenth, Wayne Show will
- 1:45Speaker 4: be on Gateway Pundit at the very top of the page.
- 1:49Speaker 4: So it will take off, as it's already taken off,
- 1:53Speaker 4: but it'll take off even more like Gangbusters at that
- 1:56Speaker 4: time when all of those eyes are focused on that
- 1:59Speaker 4: page because they have so much traffic at Gateway, so
- 2:02Speaker 4: it'll be it'll.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Be big time.
- 2:04Speaker 4: So July fourteenth, everything probably changes for Wayne Allen Root
- 2:07Speaker 4: and the great listeners out there and the crew behind
- 2:09Speaker 4: the scenes making it all go. So again, my name
- 2:11Speaker 4: is Lee Elsie. I do a morning show here in Connecticut,
- 2:15Speaker 4: but doing that.
- 2:15Speaker 1: For a long long time.
- 2:16Speaker 4: I quote unquote him official the official fill in guy
- 2:20Speaker 4: for Wayne Allen Root, and for a while I was
- 2:22Speaker 4: doing a lot of Friday nights for him as well
- 2:25Speaker 4: because his schedule gets very, very busy. But if you're
- 2:27Speaker 4: out there anywhere and you want to email me, it's
- 2:29Speaker 4: l E E E. L CI Radio at gmail dot com.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Leelsiradiot gmail dot com. I literally get hundreds of emails,
- 2:37Speaker 4: thousands sometimes every single day. So I go through them all,
- 2:41Speaker 4: read them all, and we get back to as many
- 2:42Speaker 4: as we can. But it's very hectic, very busy. I
- 2:45Speaker 4: gotta be honest that I fired up today.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Man.
- 2:49Speaker 4: The only thing that kept me calm. I think I
- 2:51Speaker 4: ate about three watermelons today.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I'm serious. I could win. Forget about the hot dog
- 2:55Speaker 1: eating contest. I could win.
- 2:56Speaker 4: I could definitely win a watermelon eating contest. But yeah,
- 3:00Speaker 4: I'm feeling a little slow right now. But that that
- 3:02Speaker 4: kind of kept me saying today. Last night I opened
- 3:06Speaker 4: up and I gotta I gotta kind of go down
- 3:10Speaker 4: the same road again tonight, because it's very frustrating to
- 3:14Speaker 4: have the country in a place where the leadership is
- 3:20Speaker 4: is as strong as it's been maybe in decades, and
- 3:26Speaker 4: around the globe things are changing for.
- 3:29Speaker 1: The good of this country.
- 3:31Speaker 4: You know, America is I think becoming once again this
- 3:35Speaker 4: amazing powerhouse where other nations look to it for leadership.
- 3:40Speaker 4: I think that's failed us for a long long time,
- 3:43Speaker 4: for as long as I.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Can remember, since maybe even Reagan.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Where other countries look to us for our guidance and
- 3:48Speaker 4: our leadership and I feel like now that that has
- 3:50Speaker 4: changed significantly, and I'm not going to be able to
- 3:55Speaker 4: get over this Epstein list unless I get some closure.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Because let me throw some stats at you.
- 4:05Speaker 4: There are forty nine point six million modern slavery victims.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Four point eight million.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Are forced sexual workers exploitation. One million. Of those four
- 4:20Speaker 4: point eight are kids one million. And that's basically the
- 4:26Speaker 4: ones that we know about. How many more do we
- 4:29Speaker 4: not know about? Fifty one point six percent of criminal
- 4:33Speaker 4: human trafficking cases involving only children, with twenty six hundred
- 4:37Speaker 4: child trafficking cases reported in twenty twenty alone. This was
- 4:40Speaker 4: according to the National Human Trafficking Hotline, So fifty one
- 4:43Speaker 4: percent of criminal human trafficking cases involve kids. I've screened
- 4:49Speaker 4: about this on my morning show forever. I've talked about
- 4:51Speaker 4: it when I've filled in for Wayne, I've talked about
- 4:53Speaker 4: it when I filled in for other national hosts. As
- 4:56Speaker 4: a as a society for the take of humanity, there's
- 5:02Speaker 4: got to be certain topics where you just draw a
- 5:07Speaker 4: line in the sand and say no. And what happened
- 5:16Speaker 4: at Epstein Island and what happened with Epstein in general
- 5:20Speaker 4: and his cronies is despicable, disgusting, unacceptable, and to think
- 5:29Speaker 4: that we had had promises that were made to us,
- 5:32Speaker 4: promises made by this administration. And I know everyone listening,
- 5:37Speaker 4: I know Wayne is his number one guy.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I get it.
- 5:41Speaker 4: And as I talked about this last time last night,
- 5:44Speaker 4: I have completely come done more than a one eighty.
- 5:48Speaker 4: And I'm rooting with the Pom Poms for Trump to
- 5:51Speaker 4: succeed because I think America is in desperate straits. But
- 5:56Speaker 4: there are certain things that come along in a presidency,
- 6:00Speaker 4: in an administration where you can't just sweep it under
- 6:04Speaker 4: the rug. You can't just ignore it, you can't just
- 6:07Speaker 4: act as though nothing happened. And I feel like today
- 6:14Speaker 4: that's what we got. He was asked a question today
- 6:17Speaker 4: and he sort of just brushed it off. Asked a
- 6:19Speaker 4: question in the cabinet meeting. Now, listen, no other.
- 6:21Speaker 1: President does the cabinet meetings like he does.
- 6:23Speaker 5: It's brilliant.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I mean, here's a guy on the doorstep of eighty
- 6:27Speaker 1: who runs literally run circles around people, more.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Energy than anybody, not fake energy like they made up
- 6:33Speaker 4: during the Biden administration, real stuff. And you know, he's
- 6:38Speaker 4: asked a legit question and he ignores it or basically
- 6:42Speaker 4: shrugs it off and tries to make the reporter look
- 6:45Speaker 4: and feel terrible about it. I'm sorry, there has to
- 6:49Speaker 4: be a conclusion. It can't be there's no list. I
- 6:52Speaker 4: will not accept that it cannot be the case. And
- 6:58Speaker 4: now this is caused more mortar fire between the heavies,
- 7:04Speaker 4: more fire from Elon Musk. And they got some audio
- 7:11Speaker 4: and play some audio. This is the White House today.
- 7:13Speaker 4: When asked the question about the list, concluded.
- 7:16Speaker 5: There was no Jeffrey Epstein client list.
- 7:19Speaker 6: What do you tell maggaz supporters who say they want
- 7:21Speaker 6: anyone involved in Jeffrey Epstein's list crimes to be held accountable.
- 7:25Speaker 7: This administration wants anyone who has ever committed a crime
- 7:28Speaker 7: to be held accountable. And I would argue this administration
- 7:31Speaker 7: has done more to lock up bad guys than certainly
- 7:34Speaker 7: the previous administration. And the Trump administration is committed to
- 7:37Speaker 7: truth and to transparency. That's why the Attorney General and
- 7:40Speaker 7: the FBI Director pledged, at the President's direction, to do
- 7:44Speaker 7: an exhaustive review of all of the files related to
- 7:48Speaker 7: Jeffrey Epstein's crimes and his death. And they put out
- 7:51Speaker 7: a memo in conclusion of that review, there was material
- 7:54Speaker 7: they did not release because frankly, it was incredibly graphic
- 7:57Speaker 7: and it contained child pornography, which is something that's appropriate
- 8:01Speaker 7: for public consumption. But they committed to an exhaustive investigation.
- 8:06Speaker 7: That's what they did, and they provided the results of that.
- 8:09Speaker 7: That's transparency.
- 8:10Speaker 6: Yeah, sure, line, Okay, So the FBI looks at the
- 8:14Speaker 6: circumstances frounding the death of Jeffrey Epstein. According to the report,
- 8:19Speaker 6: this systematic review revealed no incriminating client list. So what
- 8:25Speaker 6: happened to the Epstein client list that the Attorney General
- 8:28Speaker 6: said she had on her desk.
- 8:30Speaker 7: Well, I think if you go back and look at
- 8:32Speaker 7: what the Attorney General said in that interview which was
- 8:35Speaker 7: on your network on Fox News, Cohan and.
- 8:37Speaker 6: Roberts said, doj maybe releasing the list of Jeffrey Epstein's clients?
- 8:41Speaker 3: Will that really happen?
- 8:42Speaker 6: And she said, it's sitting on my desk right now
- 8:45Speaker 6: to review.
- 8:46Speaker 7: Yes, she was saying the entirety of all of the paperwork,
- 8:49Speaker 7: all of the paper in relation to Jeffrey Epstein's crimes.
- 8:53Speaker 7: That's what the Attorney General was referring to. And I'll
- 8:55Speaker 7: let her speak for that, but again, when it comes
- 8:57Speaker 7: to the FBI and the Department of Justice, they are
- 9:00Speaker 7: more than committed to ensuring that bad people are put
- 9:03Speaker 7: behind bars.
- 9:03Speaker 4: I actually believe just about everything that she has to
- 9:07Speaker 4: say there. I believe that Trump. I believe that Trump's
- 9:10Speaker 4: administration they are a law in order administration. I mean,
- 9:15Speaker 4: he's proven that, and he's gone out of his way
- 9:17Speaker 4: to prove that. He's gone out of his way to
- 9:19Speaker 4: embrace police departments across the country, FBI, law enforcement in general.
- 9:27Speaker 4: So this is another reason why I'm so frustrated by this,
- 9:32Speaker 4: and I think I speak for a an overwhelming majority
- 9:38Speaker 4: of folks in this country and an overwhelming majority of
- 9:42Speaker 4: MAGA supporters who need a resolution on this, because this
- 9:48Speaker 4: is not a throwaway deal. This is not something that
- 9:50Speaker 4: can be ignored or nor should it be ignored, and
- 9:54Speaker 4: not just because promises were made, but because it's the
- 9:57Speaker 4: right thing to do. The list has to be be
- 10:00Speaker 4: made public. It's really it's almost to the point where
- 10:05Speaker 4: it's non negotiable. All the things that she had said
- 10:08Speaker 4: just then are probably true. It's probably very graphic, but
- 10:11Speaker 4: there is a list that exists somewhere with names of
- 10:19Speaker 4: high profile people and the public deserves to know the
- 10:25Speaker 4: answer to that ugly question of who's on that list,
- 10:31Speaker 4: and the kids that were involved, that were molested and
- 10:35Speaker 4: tortured and raped in some cases, I'm sure they deserve
- 10:40Speaker 4: that closure. For sure, they deserve that vindication. And I'm
- 10:45Speaker 4: trying to figure out a way as to why they
- 10:50Speaker 4: would keep this from all of us, and I can't
- 10:54Speaker 4: get there. So I'm going to take a break and
- 10:57Speaker 4: once again when we come back on a place so
- 11:00Speaker 4: I ban in audio and there's again a fight on
- 11:04Speaker 4: Twitter between Bannon and Elon Musk, and well, you know
- 11:08Speaker 4: what he said did not sit with me the right
- 11:11Speaker 4: way either. So anyway, this again show is on Rumble
- 11:14Speaker 4: x Getter, Untamed Nation dot com, Root for America, Wayne
- 11:18Speaker 4: Allen Root is your host, and again he's off for

- 13:49Speaker 8: Here is a personal story that really changed my life.
- 13:52Speaker 8: I'm so allergic to wheat and grains and gluten that
- 13:55Speaker 8: I had to give up bread. And then recently I
- 13:57Speaker 8: found Gym's Amazing Bread and it's amazing.
- 14:00Speaker 5: It changed my life.
- 14:01Speaker 8: Now I can eat bread again and I love it.

- 14:06Speaker 8: no allergy or stomach issues. What makes Jim's Amazing Bread
- 14:09Speaker 8: so amazing It was inspired by Jim's daughter, who was

- 14:22Speaker 8: from activating.
- 14:23Speaker 5: The results a soft, wholesome wheat bread that's easier to digest.
- 14:27Speaker 8: Customers with gluten sensitivity, blood sugar concerns, cut health issues,

- 14:47Speaker 3: It is amazing all right. Welcome back.
- 15:02Speaker 1: This is the root reaction. I have a friend of
- 15:03Speaker 1: mine as a judge.
- 15:04Speaker 4: He's actually he just landed, well yesterday actually, to be honest,
- 15:08Speaker 4: he ended yesterday after in Vegas.
- 15:10Speaker 1: So he's sent me these pictures.
- 15:12Speaker 4: So the video came on the screen because you can
- 15:16Speaker 4: watch what's going on here in the station. You can
- 15:18Speaker 4: watch it on X and on Rumble and on ghet Her.
- 15:23Speaker 4: It's kind of cool. So it's like the dual thing.
- 15:25Speaker 4: You've got the radio across the country and you've got
- 15:27Speaker 4: the video as well. He just just landed in Vegas, Vegas.
- 15:30Speaker 4: I used to live in Vegas, so it's one of
- 15:32Speaker 4: my it's one of my favorite places to be and
- 15:34Speaker 4: I haven't been there in a.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Long long time. So he's sending me pictures and I'm jealous.
- 15:38Speaker 4: And then on the video pustion of the intro coming
- 15:42Speaker 4: back from a break, they showed the Blagio fountains, which
- 15:45Speaker 4: is always a fan favorite. So all right, before we
- 15:49Speaker 4: go any further, let me tell you really quickly about
- 15:52Speaker 4: energized health. Now, actually, let's do this one. Let's do
- 15:54Speaker 4: the great patren No, let's do this one. Let's do
- 15:56Speaker 4: this one right here. I want to do this one
- 15:57Speaker 4: because I didn't do this one yesterday. This segment is
- 16:01Speaker 4: sponsored by I did do it, but I supposed to
- 16:02Speaker 4: do it twice. Was sponsored by Los Soldier Oil and Gas.
- 16:06Speaker 4: And the second term of President Trump is all about drill,
- 16:09Speaker 4: baby drill, and knocking down inflation. Right, So that's what
- 16:12Speaker 4: we're about by masking America the energy capital of the world,
- 16:15Speaker 4: by making America the energy capital of the world. And
- 16:19Speaker 4: this one project could be the centerpiece of that gold
- 16:24Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, I can't all of a sudden, I
- 16:25Speaker 4: can't read.
- 16:26Speaker 1: It could be the center piece of that goal.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Lost Soldier Oil and Gas has been founded by second
- 16:32Speaker 4: generation oil and gas legend Mark Berner. His companies have
- 16:35Speaker 4: created more than fifteen billion in shareholder value, including the
- 16:40Speaker 4: Ultra Petroleum, which went from fifteen cents to two hundred
- 16:42Speaker 4: dollars per share at its peak of ten grand investment
- 16:45Speaker 4: there got you about thirteen million bucks.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Lost Soldier is Mark's new project.
- 16:49Speaker 4: It took forty years to piece together this four forty
- 16:52Speaker 4: thousand acre giant gas discovery field, and Mark believes it's
- 16:55Speaker 4: the last major basin centered gas accumulation play in the
- 16:59Speaker 4: United States. So if you want to get in on this.
- 17:01Speaker 4: This is the right time, right place, right management team.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Each of Lost Soldier's top execs has forty plus years
- 17:08Speaker 4: of oil and gas experience and.
- 17:10Speaker 1: The right president to get the job done.
- 17:12Speaker 4: If you're an accredited investor and would like to get
- 17:15Speaker 4: involved in this once in a lifetime opportunity, go to
- 17:18Speaker 4: loss soldier dot com. Fill out the contact form that's
- 17:21Speaker 4: lost soldier dot com.
- 17:24Speaker 1: All right, so I'm gonna talk about this one more time.
- 17:27Speaker 4: And then I'm gonna let it go for tonight and
- 17:30Speaker 4: we'll see what happens in the next twenty four hours.
- 17:33Speaker 4: But there is a bit of a Twitter war, a
- 17:35Speaker 4: next war going on, and I have to say that,
- 17:38Speaker 4: you know, I know Musk and Trump are fighting, and
- 17:41Speaker 4: you know people have taken sides, but.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 17:45Speaker 4: I'm not sure where everybody is on Bannon. But Bannon
- 17:48Speaker 4: had this to say about Elon Musk, and none of
- 17:50Speaker 4: it sits well with me.
- 17:51Speaker 8: Elmo the Muck formerly known as Elon Musk, Elmo the Muck.
- 17:57Speaker 5: He's today in another here and this is only a
- 18:01Speaker 5: foreigner could do this.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Think about it.
- 18:03Speaker 5: He's got up on it. He's got up on Twitter
- 18:06Speaker 5: right now.
- 18:07Speaker 3: A poll about starting an American party, a non American
- 18:10Speaker 3: starting an America party.
- 18:11Speaker 1: No, brother, you're not an American.
- 18:12Speaker 5: You're at South African. And if we take enough time
- 18:20Speaker 5: improved the facts of that, you should be deported because
- 18:22Speaker 5: it's a crime of what you did.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Among many I'm not even sure what that means at
- 18:26Speaker 4: the end, he deported for what for being South African?
- 18:30Speaker 4: And up on the X, Musk said, and I quote
- 18:33Speaker 4: the fat drunken solo. Excuse me, the fat drunken slab
- 18:36Speaker 4: called the Bannon will go back to prison, and this
- 18:38Speaker 4: time for a long time.
- 18:39Speaker 1: He has a lifetime of crime to pay for.
- 18:42Speaker 4: So there you go. The fight goes on on the
- 18:45Speaker 4: X and this all gets put to bed. This is
- 18:49Speaker 4: like the to me, this is the only real speed
- 18:52Speaker 4: bump so far that has happened in the Trump presidency.
- 18:58Speaker 4: And love him or hate him, if you look at
- 19:00Speaker 4: what he's done, He's done what he's promised he was
- 19:02Speaker 4: going to do. Now you may disagree with what he
- 19:04Speaker 4: said he was going to do, but he promised certain
- 19:06Speaker 4: things and he's done just about all of them, including
- 19:09Speaker 4: cleaning up the border and stopping the trade, stopping the
- 19:12Speaker 4: fetanol trade, stopping the sex trade, stopping all the illegal immigrations,
- 19:16Speaker 4: stopping the criminals coming in, shut it down.
- 19:19Speaker 1: When Biden said it couldn't be done, he shut it down.
- 19:22Speaker 1: But this, he promised, this.
- 19:25Speaker 4: Was going to be a thing that was going to
- 19:28Speaker 4: open the eyes and shine light on the political elite,
- 19:33Speaker 4: the untouchables, so to speak, those folks who you can't
- 19:38Speaker 4: get to the swamp. You've got to release this list.
- 19:43Speaker 4: You've got it. Sorry, that's just my opinion. And I
- 19:48Speaker 4: know he listens to the show, and I hope he's listening.
- 19:50Speaker 4: And I'm telling you right now, mister President, I mean,
- 19:55Speaker 4: I don't you get people who are defending you if
- 19:59Speaker 4: even I take a slight criticism in the past, I've
- 20:02Speaker 4: done it. I've gotten hundreds of emails hammering me. Not
- 20:05Speaker 4: one person has defended you on this one. They want
- 20:08Speaker 4: this list, they want this list released, and it's the
- 20:12Speaker 4: people have spoken and you've.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Got to do it. You've got them, all right, the
- 20:17Speaker 1: root reaction.

- 22:04Speaker 4: rumble x Getter, Untamed Nation dot com and of course

- 22:16Speaker 4: at gmail dot com is how you can get a
- 22:18Speaker 4: hold of me and again also the Voice of Freedom
- 22:22Speaker 4: on Facebook if you want.
- 22:24Speaker 1: To follow us there.
- 22:25Speaker 4: One of my favorite guests to bring on my morning
- 22:28Speaker 4: show here in Connecticut is a brilliant scholar and I
- 22:32Speaker 4: don't use those words brilliant lightly. He again has taught
- 22:36Speaker 4: at a number of different universities and currently he's a
- 22:39Speaker 4: lecturer at UMass Amhurst and his name is Hans Destbain.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Hans, how are you, my friend?
- 22:45Speaker 3: I'm doing well, Lee, how are you?
- 22:47Speaker 1: I'm doing good. I'm doing good. So I know tonight
- 22:49Speaker 1: we're going to talk a little bit about the big ut.
- 22:52Speaker 3: More secure on the go ahead.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Sorry no, no, gohad, what were you gonna say?
- 22:58Speaker 3: I was gonna make a silly joke, but on the radio,
- 23:01Speaker 3: I'm more secure because I forget how handsome you are unbelievable.
- 23:08Speaker 4: See now I feel uncomfortable. Now this is going in
- 23:11Speaker 4: the wrong direction. So listen, I want to ask you.
- 23:15Speaker 4: It's all good funny.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Let me ask you.
- 23:18Speaker 4: About because I know we always talk about debt, and
- 23:21Speaker 4: we always talk about economic you know, the plus and
- 23:26Speaker 4: minuses of this, But recently I want to talk about
- 23:29Speaker 4: tariffs first before we get to debt, and I guess
- 23:32Speaker 4: they go together. Sure, a lot of people are saying
- 23:34Speaker 4: that the accumulation of some of these tarifts are going
- 23:37Speaker 4: to weigh this big beautiful bill.
- 23:41Speaker 1: You know that.
- 23:41Speaker 4: They say it's going to accumulate three and a half
- 23:43Speaker 4: trillion dollars in debt by the time you know it's done.
- 23:46Speaker 4: But if we start collecting and keep collecting, these tariffs
- 23:49Speaker 4: going to add up and offset that, what do you
- 23:51Speaker 4: what do you say to that?
- 23:55Speaker 3: Look, I will definitely say this. The debt levels that
- 24:02Speaker 3: we have right now have been a bipartisan effort, and
- 24:07Speaker 3: I do think we have to hold the Trump administration responsible.
- 24:11Speaker 3: We're not going to know the results of the Big
- 24:14Speaker 3: Beautiful Bill until much later, so we'll see what those
- 24:20Speaker 3: results are. You know, I appreciate that you say that
- 24:28Speaker 3: there's a relationship between tariffs and debt, there certainly is.
- 24:32Speaker 3: And you know the fact that the US dollars reserve
- 24:36Speaker 3: currency means that it has to be in wide supply
- 24:41Speaker 3: because people buy our bonds and hold our debt, and
- 24:46Speaker 3: that also means that we spend. And so Congress takes
- 24:49Speaker 3: that bond money and spends it, allocates it in the
- 24:53Speaker 3: ways that they see fit, whatever that may be. But
- 24:56Speaker 3: there's a direct correlation between a trade deficit in the
- 24:59Speaker 3: Fed budget deficit.
- 25:03Speaker 4: Okay, but over the course of time there if they
- 25:06Speaker 4: project that each month, I mean each month you get
- 25:10Speaker 4: a figure of what we supposedly collected in tariff revenue,
- 25:13Speaker 4: and you applied that to this projected possible debt. I mean,
- 25:17Speaker 4: do you think it's even going to come close to
- 25:19Speaker 4: offset three trillion dollars.
- 25:25Speaker 3: The tariffs? Yeah, the tariff ree Yeah, no, I don't
- 25:31Speaker 3: leave at all. You know, the Trump administration's debt has
- 25:35Speaker 3: gone up about a half million and by the way,
- 25:37Speaker 3: that's not on their watch yet. That's still the Biden
- 25:39Speaker 3: administration's of federal budget. But it has gone up by
- 25:43Speaker 3: half a trillion dollars. The tariff revenue that's been generated
- 25:48Speaker 3: has been about one hundred billion dollars, which is significant.
- 25:52Speaker 3: But and you know, this is where we can transition
- 25:55Speaker 3: to tariffs. I do not believe regardless of what anybody
- 25:59Speaker 3: in the Trump administration says, it's mostly the president that
- 26:02Speaker 3: will say this, that we're going to make a lot
- 26:05Speaker 3: of revenue. I don't think that's their main aim. You know,
- 26:09Speaker 3: they make some fine, but I think their aim is
- 26:12Speaker 3: very different than generating tariff revenue.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Okay, all right, so I agree.
- 26:20Speaker 4: But a lot of people now are saying that there
- 26:22Speaker 4: will be a significant amount of revenue gained by the tariffs.
- 26:27Speaker 4: And you know, I do the math, like I'm sure
- 26:29Speaker 4: you do the math, and obviously it doesn't come out
- 26:31Speaker 4: to be the same.
- 26:32Speaker 1: It's always going to fall short.
- 26:33Speaker 4: But in the end of let's say five years, you know,
- 26:38Speaker 4: maybe can he get back a trillion.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Of that or was that too much to ask in tariffs?
- 26:45Speaker 3: That's that number is about right about it. It would
- 26:48Speaker 3: be a little over the the the numbers that I
- 26:53Speaker 3: find most trustworthy are about two point five trillion dollars
- 26:57Speaker 3: in the next ten years. Don't think the tariffs are
- 27:01Speaker 3: going to be in place that long. I think the
- 27:03Speaker 3: motive by the Trump administration is not economically, but political,
- 27:08Speaker 3: and that's where I think they're going to make a
- 27:11Speaker 3: significant inroad to the global order. Less so the tariff
- 27:18Speaker 3: revenue that's being generated right now, I think that will
- 27:21Speaker 3: be relatively short lived.
- 27:23Speaker 4: I'll explain that to everybody because I know you've talked
- 27:25Speaker 4: about that it'd being more political than economics.
- 27:27Speaker 3: So yeah, so let me just say mister Trump's Chief
- 27:36Speaker 3: Economic Advisor, chair of the Economic Council for the Trump administration,
- 27:43Speaker 3: and Stephen Moran. And Stephen Moran wrote in November before
- 27:48Speaker 3: the Trump they had obviously won the election, but Moran
- 27:52Speaker 3: had not been named to the administration yet, but he
- 27:54Speaker 3: wrote a article on a user's Guide to Restructuring Global
- 28:03Speaker 3: Trade I believe is the title of it, and lays
- 28:06Speaker 3: out quite specifically what the plan is, you know, what
- 28:12Speaker 3: the plan would be, what the results would be, very
- 28:16Speaker 3: very well argued and thought out, with you know, possibilities
- 28:20Speaker 3: of things not going quite the way that the current
- 28:25Speaker 3: administration would or the income administration at that time would
- 28:29Speaker 3: have expected. You know, So in my opinion, quite serious.
- 28:35Speaker 3: And what Stephen Moran says in that is that the
- 28:41Speaker 3: main aim is to negotiate politically a restructuring of trade relations.
- 28:51Speaker 3: And you know, really what it comes down to, Lee
- 28:54Speaker 3: is that mister Trump, and I'm talking about now the
- 28:58Speaker 3: first administration, mister Trum. You know, he said all kinds
- 29:01Speaker 3: of very provocative things like the language to use China's
- 29:06Speaker 3: China is raping us, and stuff like this. But the
- 29:09Speaker 3: better way to put it, which I think, is what
- 29:12Speaker 3: he you know, but let me say Trump is masterful
- 29:17Speaker 3: with his rhetoric to get the ideas across to the
- 29:21Speaker 3: general public of the urgency of something, whether or not
- 29:24Speaker 3: as very accurate or not. You know, the metaphor of
- 29:29Speaker 3: you know, China is raping us or taking advantage of
- 29:32Speaker 3: us is they don't like the referee, and the referee
- 29:36Speaker 3: is a World trade organization. That's what That's what the
- 29:39Speaker 3: Trump administration wants to he changed. And you know, once
- 29:43Speaker 3: these institutions get in place, they're very very difficult to change.
- 29:50Speaker 3: So that's ultimately I think what they're after, and they
- 29:53Speaker 3: want they want global participation in restructuring the global order,
- 30:01Speaker 3: and without that participation, it's going to be very very
- 30:04Speaker 3: difficult and quite unpredictable. I think they're using the tariffs
- 30:09Speaker 3: as a way to nudge the rest of the world
- 30:14Speaker 3: in to the negotiating table.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Hans Desbain, economic lecturer at UMass amherst Our guest chatting
- 30:22Speaker 4: a little bit about the economy and tariffs and basically
- 30:26Speaker 4: debt and the big beautiful bill and some of the
- 30:29Speaker 4: countries Hans have pretty much made a deal already.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Some are pushing back.
- 30:34Speaker 4: But it seems like, you know, he's in some kind
- 30:37Speaker 4: of negotiation with a country just about every single day.
- 30:42Speaker 4: I mean, you know, and I know you don't think
- 30:43Speaker 4: this is going to last unless, of course, a protege
- 30:47Speaker 4: is next, let's say, vance and he follows in the footsteps,
- 30:51Speaker 4: But you know, who knows if that's going to happen
- 30:53Speaker 4: and how that would sort of work itself out. But
- 30:56Speaker 4: do you think more countries are gonna sort of bend
- 30:59Speaker 4: than me and and and take some kind of deal
- 31:02Speaker 4: that that Trump sends their way.
- 31:04Speaker 3: I think there's been very few countries that have come
- 31:07Speaker 3: to the negotiating table one on one with the United States.
- 31:11Speaker 3: You can count them on on on one hand. I
- 31:16Speaker 3: don't Again, I don't know that that's really the the intention. Uh,
- 31:21Speaker 3: the the intention is really to bring So look, I
- 31:25Speaker 3: think you know, I I I think that you know,
- 31:31Speaker 3: with without getting into you know, too much of the
- 31:34Speaker 3: knitted gritty that you know. The intention is to rebalance
- 31:38Speaker 3: the currency evaluation of the US dollar, the exchange rates,
- 31:44Speaker 3: but also to negotiate cooperation with the rest of the
- 31:48Speaker 3: world towards re ordering the trade supplies. Uh uh uh
- 31:58Speaker 3: And I meant to a supply chains, pardon me, supply chains.
- 32:03Speaker 3: And I think most urgently for Trump is to read
- 32:06Speaker 3: direct the trade patterns away from China. And I think
- 32:10Speaker 3: this is why he went after our two biggest trade
- 32:15Speaker 3: partners at Canada and Mexico at the initiation of these tariffs. Right,
- 32:20Speaker 3: they're the ones that had tariffs threatened to be imposed
- 32:24Speaker 3: on them and quite stiff, to reduce what they're buying
- 32:27Speaker 3: from China and restructure their trade back towards the US
- 32:32Speaker 3: and the West and the G seven because there's a
- 32:35Speaker 3: distrust in the politics of the Chinese within the Trump administration.
- 32:41Speaker 1: His name is Hans des Banyon.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Han.
- 32:42Speaker 4: You can stick around for one more because I got

- 36:50Speaker 4: We've got a few more minutes with the economic lecturer
- 36:53Speaker 4: over at UMass Amherst. Good friend of mine and we
- 36:56Speaker 4: always chat and sometimes debate about some of the economic
- 37:00Speaker 4: issues of the country and the world.
- 37:02Speaker 1: And he's always a great guest. Hans des Spain. So Hans,
- 37:05Speaker 1: you know, because we're gonna run out of time. We
- 37:07Speaker 1: always do when me and you were on.
- 37:09Speaker 4: But let me ask you about just debt, and so
- 37:13Speaker 4: you can tell me the impact of debt. But in
- 37:15Speaker 4: a sense where you know, people say, well, you know,
- 37:18Speaker 4: compared to other.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Countries, were okay, I hate that comparison.
- 37:21Speaker 4: Because you know, if we didn't spend solar recklessly, we'd
- 37:25Speaker 4: look at other countries and we'd be, you know, amazing
- 37:27Speaker 4: instead of just okay compared to them.
- 37:29Speaker 1: But in your mind you you probably aren't.
- 37:32Speaker 4: As bothered by debt as me. But can you break
- 37:35Speaker 4: break down what we were watching right now?
- 37:39Speaker 3: Well, when we first met, I think this was one
- 37:44Speaker 3: of the very first issues that we discussed and debated. Uh,
- 37:50Speaker 3: you read a paper and critiqued my thoughts on on debt.
- 37:55Speaker 3: I think the debt level, Dan, I'm you know, I
- 37:58Speaker 3: don't remember precisely, but you know this goes back two
- 38:01Speaker 3: three years so we could look it up, was about
- 38:03Speaker 3: eighty percent of GDP public debt to GDP. That's now
- 38:08Speaker 3: a one hundred and twenty three percent of GDP. So
- 38:14Speaker 3: I was not worried at all at eighty percent for
- 38:17Speaker 3: various reasons. I'll be happy to explain to anybody in
- 38:22Speaker 3: an email request, but I won't bother going into that.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Once you get above one hundred percent debt to GDP,
- 38:33Speaker 3: it has negative consequences on growth rates. To what degree
- 38:38Speaker 3: is debatable, but that is the primary concern. The other
- 38:43Speaker 3: issuely is that the interest on the debt alone, which
- 38:51Speaker 3: you know, whether this is good or bad depends on
- 38:53Speaker 3: what position you are in the economy is a trillion
- 38:56Speaker 3: dollars per year. One trillion dollars per year. Now, there
- 39:02Speaker 3: are not more than ten eleven countries in the world
- 39:05Speaker 3: that have a trillion dollar economy, and we're paying a
- 39:10Speaker 3: trillion dollars in interest payment. Now, whether that's good or bad,
- 39:16Speaker 3: I'm not sure, because that trillion dollars in interest payment
- 39:19Speaker 3: is somebody else's revenue and most of most of that
- 39:23Speaker 3: revenue source are Americans. Americans are the biggest holders of debt,
- 39:29Speaker 3: Japan being the largest foreign holder of debt, so they
- 39:35Speaker 3: make an interest on it, you know, So that's a concern.
- 39:39Speaker 3: But what I would emphasize, and Lee, You've heard this
- 39:42Speaker 3: a thousand times from me, but I'll share it with
- 39:45Speaker 3: mister Root's audience, which is, if you're concerned with public debt,
- 39:50Speaker 3: take a look at private debt. Because public debt is
- 39:54Speaker 3: one hundred and twenty three percent of GDP. Private debt
- 39:57Speaker 3: is one hundred and fifty eight. Just I spoke. That
- 40:01Speaker 3: peaked at one hundred and fifty eight in twenty twenty.
- 40:03Speaker 3: It's now down to one hundred and forty two percent
- 40:06Speaker 3: of GDP one hundred and forty two percent, So that's
- 40:08Speaker 3: household and business debt, so that's also a drag on
- 40:13Speaker 3: the economy. So the government, investors, consumers are all in
- 40:19Speaker 3: massive debt, and that should concern us all for sure.
- 40:23Speaker 3: I'm more concerned with the private debt and public debt,
- 40:25Speaker 3: but they're now at levels that we should all be concerned.
- 40:28Speaker 4: And that's the I mean, we have record breaking credit
- 40:30Speaker 4: card debt right now, correct, that's never been this correct.
- 40:34Speaker 3: Yeah, that's hit a trillion dollars for the first time
- 40:39Speaker 3: in US history. And what's also amazing about that, thank
- 40:42Speaker 3: you for bringing that uply, is in twenty eighteen, the
- 40:47Speaker 3: average credit card interest rate was approximately twelve percent. It's
- 40:52Speaker 3: now double it's twenty four percent. So not only are
- 40:56Speaker 3: we more in debt than ever, the straits are at
- 41:02Speaker 3: you know, not all time record highst but they're at
- 41:05Speaker 3: well when you go back in credit card debt, it
- 41:07Speaker 3: probably is an all time record high because credit card
- 41:09Speaker 3: debt is a you know, nineteen fifty sort of phenomenon,
- 41:13Speaker 3: so that probably is pretty dark close to record high levels.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Maybe in the nineteen eighties, credit card debt was hired.
- 41:22Speaker 3: I don't know that off the top of my head.
- 41:24Speaker 3: But twenty four percent interest rates for more, you know,
- 41:28Speaker 3: for my wife and I or your wife and you.
- 41:31Speaker 3: That's a dinner conversation. Can you believe these interest rates?
- 41:36Speaker 3: But for I would say fifty percent of the Americans,
- 41:39Speaker 3: it's prohibitive on what they can put on their table.
- 41:43Speaker 1: I would agree with that.
- 41:44Speaker 4: And you know, once you get into that, stuck to
- 41:47Speaker 4: that vortex, and you just can't. You're ten thousand dollars
- 41:50Speaker 4: in credit card debt and you're making fifty thousand dollars a.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Year, You're never paying that back. I mean, it's just
- 41:54Speaker 1: not happening, you know what I mean?
- 41:56Speaker 4: The interest on that is killing people, you know, week
- 41:58Speaker 4: to week, month to month. Hans Desban is his name.
- 42:01Speaker 4: It's always one of our favorite guests. Have you written
- 42:03Speaker 4: anything we need to know about recently?
- 42:07Speaker 3: Not recent? Landman arrears on a couple of articles, but no,
- 42:13Speaker 3: I don't have anything that's come out since.
- 42:15Speaker 4: And how about the basketball coaching? Are you winning and losing?
- 42:18Speaker 4: Where are we at that? We only got like thirty seconds?
- 42:20Speaker 4: But I mean I got victories, I got trophies.
- 42:23Speaker 1: What do you got? I see you got books, but
- 42:24Speaker 1: I don't see any trophies behind you.
- 42:26Speaker 3: My daughter's team, we came home with nothing. We had
- 42:30Speaker 3: a very digital soccer in the basketball season. My son
- 42:34Speaker 3: is going to be going to Pittsburgh for a basketball
- 42:37Speaker 3: tournament in August that I'm coaching the teams. So I'm
- 42:40Speaker 3: very excited about that. We're hoping to bring home a
- 42:43Speaker 3: metal league. All right, I'll keep you informed. I'm counting
