- 0:02Wow, he just took a big gulp of wine.
- 0:05Go how you doing? It's been a week.
- 0:09It's been. It's been a week.
- 0:10It is Thursday and it's it has been a week.
- 0:13It's. It's already Thursday.
- 0:15Yeah, I could have sworn we just recorded yesterday.
- 0:17It feels like it, but no, it has been a week to the day since
- 0:21last Thursday. Wow, it happens like all the
- 0:23time. That's crazy.
- 0:25It's crazy how like every day ends with why.
- 0:29Jerry, no. You can't just blow my mind like
- 0:31that. I was not ready.
- 0:32You had to give me warning. I got you.
- 0:35Next time I got you. I got you.
- 0:38Does every month end in Y? No, no, no.
- 0:40No. I answered that myself.
- 0:42This has been a long week only because I was on vacation the
- 0:47rest of last week even after we came back from our trip.
- 0:49So this Monday was my first day back in like 9 days.
- 0:53How did it feel? It was fun, Yeah.
- 0:56That first day back, I was like, damn, I kind of missed work.
- 1:01I don't know who I was in that moment.
- 1:03I don't know what overtook me. I don't know that man.
- 1:06But it was nice. We were just there teasing me
- 1:08Ando seeing like what I miss, like what's new with everyone.
- 1:11It was fun. And do they manage without you?
- 1:14Yeah, the building didn't burn down.
- 1:16Barely, unfortunately. I wanted to feel so important
- 1:18when I came back. No, they they needed you.
- 1:21They just said that to be nice. OK, that's what I'm hoping.
- 1:25Welcome back, guys. Welcome back to the Daily BJ.
- 1:27I'm Brian. I'm oh, you're going to get me.
- 1:31One day. I'm Brian.
- 1:33And I'm Jerry. And he's Jerry.
- 1:34And I'm Brian. Oh my God, yeah, I'm at Berry
- 1:38and you're listening to the Daily BJ.
- 1:43That should have been our intro song the whole time.
- 1:45I. I honestly didn't even catch
- 1:46what song Is that a Britney song?
- 1:50No, it's a Brian original. What I thought it up right now.
- 1:53Right now, guys, I've been wanting to get into songwriting
- 1:55and look at me. Someone just trademarked that
- 1:58same. No, please don't.
- 1:59No, too late. I need to call a lawyer.
- 2:02And sue them. Speaking on what you just said,
- 2:04did you know that someone trademarked the term Hot Girl
- 2:06Walk? Smart.
- 2:09And she's preventing other people from hosting their own
- 2:11Hot Girl Walks. What, because she has a
- 2:13trademark? So she catches you on a hot girl
- 2:16walk you're getting. Sued.
- 2:17Allegedly. She's going to throw rocks at
- 2:19you. I don't know.
- 2:20Some girl was like, hey, guys, welcome to my not hot girl walk
- 2:24because I legally can't call it that anymore.
- 2:26What? Yeah.
- 2:27And then I went down a rabbit hole.
- 2:28There's a girl who trademarked it like 4:00-ish years ago,
- 2:31something like that. I, it barely got to my desk.
- 2:34I don't have full research, so I don't know which person to side
- 2:37with. Not yet.
- 2:38Imagine just being ahead of the curve like that.
- 2:40Be like, wow, that's the term that's going to blow up.
- 2:41Let me trademark. Yeah, I remember going on Hot
- 2:44Girl Walks like COVID time. So like, maybe it did get
- 2:46popular around then. I mean, four years ago, 2022.
- 2:50Yeah, I can math. So who knows, maybe maybe she's
- 2:53in the right to trademark Hot Girl Walk.
- 2:55We don't know. Maybe she was the 1st.
- 2:57Yeah. What have you been up to, Brian?
- 3:00Sports. Sports.
- 3:02Sadly, sports. Go sports.
- 3:05Wait, sorry. Before we move on to sports, I
- 3:07do want to shout out happy belated birthday to Matt.
- 3:11Happy birthday, Mr. Dungeon Master.
- 3:16DM. Happy birthday to YEAH.
- 3:26Hope you had a good one, big Papa.
- 3:27Yeah, we're seeing you today. Oh my God, it's D&D that's.
- 3:31Right. Yeah, we're going to see you
- 3:33literally tonight. Right after we published this.
- 3:36After for your birthday. Yep, it's like we planned it.
- 3:39We always do. We planned it for it to be your
- 3:41birthday this week. Yep, we knew it was going to be
- 3:43on Thursday. I remember years ago, years ago,
- 3:46we decided, we spoke to your mom and we said this is the day you
- 3:49have to birth him. So years later.
- 3:52Yeah, we report. It all falls together.
- 3:55It all falls in line. Happy birthday.
- 3:59Speaking of sports sports, you and Matt play baseball.
- 4:02Yeah, we do. Hot hot take.
- 4:04Hot take. Watching baseball is so boring
- 4:06to me. Watching many sports is so
- 4:08boring to me. But for some reason, things have
- 4:11changed this week. I don't like agree with you but
- 4:13I can see where you're coming from because baseball can be
- 4:16boring. There's baseball games that I've
- 4:17been to where they're scoreless into the 9th and they go after
- 4:21innings and then someone walks it off with a run.
- 4:23That sounds tough to watch. So like, I get it.
- 4:26I get it. I I've been there.
- 4:29But we watched the NBA Finals on Saturday.
- 4:32I watched a soccer game for the World Cup.
- 4:34That's right, you've also been watching soccer.
- 4:36Brian's a whole different. Person, I don't know who I am
- 4:38these. Days Brian is just he's on a
- 4:41he's on, he's on a new one. This has been the year I've
- 4:44watched the most soccer games. And have you enjoyed them?
- 4:47The Mexico one did make me slightly emotional, which I
- 4:50wasn't even fully paying attention to.
- 4:52Like I said, I was off of work. I threw it on the TV.
- 4:54I'm over here playing my games on my computer.
- 4:56And then I I hear the good and I turn over and I just see them
- 5:00all celebrating and they start hugging and then they start
- 5:04crying and then I start crying. Yeah.
- 5:06And you, like, try to join their bubble, like with their little
- 5:08group that they're like, yeah. Dang it, the corners of the TV
- 5:12just like, dig into my arms. Like I'm right there with.
- 5:15I got it. I got it.
- 5:18It's it's, it's the biggest stage for soccer.
- 5:20It's the FIFA World Cup. I know these players live the
- 5:24way they play the the game. They play and they live and.
- 5:27They they play in the live, but they hope to one day reach that
- 5:29stage and to score a goal in the FIFA World Cup.
- 5:32Yeah, that's the. Emotional part, I guess that's
- 5:35what made me like, Oh my God, he did it.
- 5:37He scored the first goal and it's the home game.
- 5:40Yeah, and I think the last time they met each other, Mexico and
- 5:48South Africa, was in the South African World Cup in 2. 1000,
- 5:53we're going to we're going to have a call back to this later
- 5:56in the episode. What?
- 5:57It's just a tight pretty boy. You just sit there.
- 6:00We'll get to it. I will say the basketball game
- 6:04was really fun to watch. Maybe it's because you guys got
- 6:07me in a really good like ambient spot and you guys are explaining
- 6:09the rules to me like I'm 5. Yeah.
- 6:12Jerry was was just like, you need to do do this sign and he'd
- 6:15get the fuck out of my way. 2010, yeah, we're good.
- 6:18Oh, interesting. Very poignant.
- 6:20I love that song. Thank you, 2010.
- 6:23Yeah. So, so to give you some
- 6:25background on that, guys, when we were in the Redwoods, we were
- 6:29watching, I think it was a game 3 or 4, I forget. 3.
- 6:33Let's go with three. Sure, or 4 and or three.
- 6:36And I was I was teaching Brian the ISO that Kobe, he has like a
- 6:40video where he's saying like he's doing this motion.
- 6:43He like puts his index fingers and thumbs together and then he
- 6:45like flares them out. But that means get the fuck out
- 6:48of my way. It's a 1V1.
- 6:50I want this. I know this guy can't guard me.
- 6:52It's like it's just telling everyone get the fuck out of my
- 6:55way. Wow, he's just throwing out like
- 6:57play signs. Yep, and everyone knows that's
- 6:59all you. I'm not even going to try to
- 7:01intervene. I'm going to leave that lane
- 7:03open for you versus this dude and you're going to score on
- 7:06him. So I was teaching Brian that and
- 7:07then I was having him do it. Then I was teaching him that
- 7:10like very stereotypical sports guy body language.
- 7:13And I'm like, dude, we got to teach you.
- 7:14You know, it's it, it's, it's your rite of passage.
- 7:17He was teaching me how to be straight acting during pride.
- 7:20There you go. Who else is going to do that for
- 7:21me? Thank you, Jerry.
- 7:22You're. Welcome.
- 7:23You're welcome. And and that's as an ally,
- 7:25that's the least I can do. There was so much to it.
- 7:27There was form, there was posture.
- 7:31The. Comments.
- 7:33Essence and and man spreading. Yeah, yeah, I'm Roboto.
- 7:36You know, just. Me and Jerry on the couch were
- 7:38taking up the entire space. No room for a lot of room on the
- 7:42couch, but no room leg room. No, no, it was knees to knees.
- 7:45It was kind of romantic. So he he learned, so that was
- 7:49that was a background. So I was ready.
- 7:51They got, they're prepping. Me.
- 7:52Yep, Yep. Fast forward to Saturday.
- 7:54We're watching it. We're at a brewery.
- 7:56The the environment electrifying people chanting the speakers of
- 8:01the big screen. Brian was locked in.
- 8:03I got Melissa in one ear telling me the rules, Jerry on the other
- 8:06being like man spread, man spread don't.
- 8:08Forget I'm teaching him plays, I'm showing him plays.
- 8:10A hey, remember what we reviewed, Remember what we did?
- 8:13And he did it guys. He was like, he was your local
- 8:16straight guy at the bar. That was just like screaming and
- 8:19yelling and just, yeah, and you could say.
- 8:23I had a psychic connection with the team, with the Knicks,
- 8:26because we were running for the Knicks.
- 8:28All for Mondani's New York. Yeah, this is for him.
- 8:32I'm doing this for him. And the Knicks didn't start off
- 8:35that great. And I was like, damn, how are
- 8:38they going to catch up? And they heard me.
- 8:40They proved me wrong. Because as soon as I started
- 8:42saying that shot shot 3 pointer, 2 pointer foul.
- 8:48Yep, after following his comment, they went like on a 15
- 8:50and two run, which cuts the lead and I think they took the lead
- 8:55like towards that end to that last quarter, yeah.
- 8:57Dude, people were like jumping out of their seats.
- 8:59I think it was the community of it all that really got me.
- 9:02But. Mostly you.
- 9:03Like, if it weren't for you, yeah.
- 9:05But if it weren't for you and you're like just your comments
- 9:08and your your energy, the Knicks would have lost.
- 9:12You're welcome, New York. Send me my check.
- 9:14Yeah. Why isn't he part of the parade?
- 9:17Why aren't? I part of the team, put me in
- 9:19coach, put me on the bench. At least I said.
- 9:22Timothy Chalamete. There you go, I'm.
- 9:24Ready to play today. But yeah, it was, it was really
- 9:26cool. It was really fun.
- 9:28I'm glad it was the Knicks. That's all I got to say.
- 9:30Same. Sucks to be the other team New
- 9:33York with that man who's real tall.
- 9:36So tall, never caught his name. Victor when?
- 9:40But yeah, Victor, tallest. Man I've ever seen.
- 9:43Put him in a movie, call him. Victor.
- 9:45Yeah, let's. Just go with Victor.
- 9:46Victor so tall, made everyone seem short.
- 9:49And then Jerry's like, they're all like, at minimum 6364.
- 9:52Yeah. Yeah, he's that's why they call
- 9:55him the alien. I don't even watch basketball.
- 9:58Me. Me neither.
- 9:59The basketball girly is Melissa I.
- 10:02Haven't watched basketball in like 6 years.
- 10:05I just stopped watching. It's OK.
- 10:08I I watch baseball aside from. All the sports I've been into
- 10:12these last couple days, I really want to do something.
- 10:16Sorry, how to take a drink? What do you what do you want to
- 10:17do? What do you how to do drink?
- 10:18To listen to me. Am I that insufferable?
- 10:21Wow, feelings hurt. I want to make you said it.
- 10:26I'm just projecting. I don't want to make a playlist.
- 10:31I want to make like seasonal playlists or monthly playlists.
- 10:34OK, because I'm all caught up with all my podcasts.
- 10:37OK, OK, so now I'm forced to listen to music.
- 10:40You would think I'd listen to so much music, but I get tired of
- 10:43music. I prefer to listen to a podcast
- 10:45on the way to work. Preferably the daily BG Oh.
- 10:48Of course, I'm the first one. I'm actually not the first one
- 10:51to listen. Every week.
- 10:52I think there's two people in the running that are awake and
- 10:55moving around during that time. I think it's either Melissa or
- 10:59Frenchy. Shout out to you all.
- 11:02Thank you because I think. Frenchie had mentioned that she
- 11:04listens to it on the way to work at like 7:00 in the morning or
- 11:06something. Yeah, wow.
- 11:08But I want to make seasonal playlists OK?
- 11:14Can I give you my honest opinion about playlists only?
- 11:17If it's good you. Know I think they're great OK I
- 11:19think you should I think you're going to and they're going to be
- 11:22amazing you. Knew I needed support.
- 11:23Yeah, of course, of course. Personally.
- 11:25Oh, I've tried that in the past and I just fall off.
- 11:29The most consistent playlist that I have is my dot X
- 11:33playlist, which is just all like my synth goth cold darkwave,
- 11:39which I've like. I've just over the years I've
- 11:41added to it avid, like I've curated it perfectly.
- 11:45And then on that Spotify DJ thing that that happened, that's
- 11:47what I would use to like mix them the songs and stuff you
- 11:50see. That is commitment.
- 11:51You're saying you're not committed to it.
- 11:52I don't know how long has that been, but.
- 11:54That's the only one that's hit. I've tried to do like a like a
- 11:57techno one, I've tried to do a rock 1 and it just those don't
- 12:01land for me. Go, Jerry.
- 12:02I'm at 0. You have one.
- 12:05You're right. You're right.
- 12:06Honestly so. Pat, pat yourself on the back.
- 12:08That's amazing. That's more so than I've done.
- 12:11I've made them in the past. Like I threw one on today, but
- 12:14that it's kind of what led me down the thought process 'cause
- 12:17that was a a specific snapshot of like summer of last year.
- 12:23So I want to recreate that. There's so much good music that
- 12:25I'm listening to now, hey. Brian, 6X specifically, here's
- 12:28something you've been listening to that you listened to.
- 12:30Last year you're triggering me. I have Spotify, DJ me and DJX.
- 12:35We got to break up. Hey, it's DJX.
- 12:39He's giving me the same things and I'm over it.
- 12:41I'm tired of it. He's giving you rap.
- 12:44There's nothing new. He only gives me rap music after
- 12:489:00 PM and I don't listen to rap.
- 12:53Every time he's told me about DJX on Spotify, he's like, it
- 12:57starts playing rap out of nowhere and I don't listen to
- 12:59rap and I'm like, well, he clearly knows something you
- 13:02don't. I refuse to believe he is.
- 13:04Trying to put you on so hard. He's like, you're gonna like
- 13:07this rap song I. Will listen to girly pop rap but
- 13:10as soon as a man comes on, oh girl that's not for me.
- 13:15OK, OK, Probably one of the first times that you're like a
- 13:19man. Nah.
- 13:20No, not interested. I'll I think women make better
- 13:23music. That's what that's Yeah, I mean,
- 13:26a lot of Lady Gaga, a lot of women artists are just top of my
- 13:30list. Yeah, for sure.
- 13:32And I. Stand by that.
- 13:34Sorry if I hurt your feelings. Not sorry.
- 13:38You know what I think got me into sports?
- 13:40Heated rivalry sports. Yeah.
- 13:42Are you? Still waiting for them to kiss
- 13:44on TV. Oh my.
- 13:44God, I'm just wanting. I want to see them kiss in
- 13:46person. I want to be present for that.
- 13:49How do I become a a freaking PA for that show?
- 13:52How do? I go into sports, how do I?
- 13:55Heat a rivalry How do I? How do I heat a rivalry in real
- 13:58life? How do?
- 13:59I reheat my own rivalry. There you go.
- 14:01There you go. I think it's possible.
- 14:02You have the Honda Center, You have the Dodger Stadium.
- 14:05I don't. Care about hockey.
- 14:07I care about Connor's story and Hudson Williams.
- 14:09That's it. But.
- 14:10If you're in the hockey world, you tell me you wouldn't like
- 14:14invite them over to an event. A hockey event.
- 14:19I haven't looked at them enough, like real hockey players to
- 14:21like, be like, yeah, sure. Go on your deep dive and report
- 14:26back to us next week. OK, look, look.
- 14:30Sorry, just gave me homework. I looked.
- 14:32At all the starting lineups in the NHL.
- 14:34And. These are the hottest and these
- 14:35are the Yeah ranked one. To 50, I'm adding that to the
- 14:39list of things I need to do on my personal Tiktok.
- 14:42Oh, by the way, guys, we're in Tiktok payments.
- 14:44Oh that's right, follows on Tik Tok's Daily VJ.
- 14:47Our last two Tik Toks have gone like thousands of views.
- 14:50Pretty cool, so. Many comments I.
- 14:52Will say the last one we posted when we were at the Battery
- 14:55Point Lighthouse was really funny.
- 14:57It was really good. Thank you for those that
- 14:59continue the joke. And just as a reminder, in
- 15:02December, the lighthouse will turn 170 years I.
- 15:05Love that that's the information that we're going to carry with
- 15:07us until we die. That's my legacy honestly.
- 15:10That a joke that landed Legacy. His joke landed in 2026 Legacy.
- 15:16Someone played along to his joke in the comments and that's all
- 15:19he needed. That's a win.
- 15:20Thank you. I appreciate that year has been.
- 15:22Made you you. Know you know humor.
- 15:24You know the joke. You're it.
- 15:26You're him or her. Or them.
- 15:29It's pride. It's pride.
- 15:31So I appreciate y'all for getting that joke.
- 15:33It was really funny. I thought it was hilarious you
- 15:35cooked at. That one, thank you.
- 15:36You told me that I'm amazing. I'm showing Jerry the the edit
- 15:41as I'm working on it. It's like what should I add?
- 15:43And he said let me cook, give me the mic, and he did my one.
- 15:48Brain cell said Yep, we're rolling with this information
- 15:51the whole time. Three times.
- 15:54Fuck yeah, they're still. Wrong with some information I I
- 15:59guess I said Humboldt County Battery Point Lighthouse is not
- 16:02in Humboldt which in the episode I did clarify that it's Dell
- 16:06North Bay County but in the TikTok I said humble oops.
- 16:10I I appreciate it. I mean, thank you for those that
- 16:12have like corrected us and stuff like cool, that's awesome.
- 16:15Like you know, you're informing us and stuff.
- 16:17We're also going through a bunch of information, but at the end
- 16:20of the day. We're just two guys.
- 16:23We're just two dudes like. Just cut some slack.
- 16:26We're just two boys. Literally.
- 16:28I just thought I had one brain cell I.
- 16:30Know I didn't correct you either, my bad.
- 16:32The normal. He has no other brain cells to
- 16:35rub together. We just have one.
- 16:37And I share that and with your. Donation of 1099 a month you can
- 16:41make Jerry's wish come true of having a second joke this year
- 16:44go viral that would be. So cool guys, I would appreciate
- 16:47that. Start working, start writing.
- 16:50That's the thing, no one wants to work nowadays.
- 16:52Oh my God. OK, Kim Kardashian.
- 16:56OK, enough fun stuff. OK, Jerry, please can you
- 16:59enlighten me and tell me what haunted you this week?
- 17:02Brian, do you know what haunted me this week?
- 17:03I don't. That's why I asked.
- 17:05Do you want to know what haunted me this week?
- 17:07I don't. Know.
- 17:08Yeah, that's why I asked. More car stuff.
- 17:13Car stuff is the epitome. What is It is the bane of my
- 17:16existence and the object of all of my desires.
- 17:20Oh, he did seem a little. Aroused doing that oil change I.
- 17:25Did an oil change, guys, normally oil changes are super
- 17:27quick if you know how to do an oil change, like it's just two
- 17:30things. Look, there's like 3 things if
- 17:33you know, you know. But anyways, for some reason I
- 17:36couldn't unscrew that bolt pan, the oil oil pan bolt.
- 17:39It was so freaking hard. I I think I spent like what a
- 17:42good 40 minutes, yeah, trying to unscrew that by hand with like
- 17:45the wrench or the IT. Was dark by the time we started
- 17:48actually changing. Started with daylight.
- 17:51Semi started without daylight. So so that's been that's been
- 17:56what's haunted me this week. Just more car stuff.
- 17:59What I read about this week is a story that's considered one of
- 18:03the most famous hauntings in American history.
- 18:06Unlike most ghost stories where somebody sees a shadow figure or
- 18:09hears footsteps in the attic, this one allegedly involved
- 18:13physical attacks, conversations with a spirit and possibly even
- 18:18murder. Murder, murder, murder.
- 18:24We're talking about the Bell Witch today.
- 18:26Dang this sounds maybe. I've seen a ghost show on this
- 18:30but I don't know much it. Yeah, absolutely.
- 18:32Probably come up on Ghost Adventures, major ghost shows.
- 18:37There is a couple films, I don't know if they're like really big,
- 18:39but they they they've talked about this, add it to.
- 18:42The to the list. Before I get into it, OK, I have
- 18:46a question for you. What's the creepiest thing
- 18:49you've ever heard in your house at night that made you stop and
- 18:52go? What the hell was that?
- 18:56One time I was laying on this bed right here, right next to
- 18:58us. This one.
- 18:59Right here, the one that's unmade.
- 19:01Oh my God, I don't. Think I've ever told you the
- 19:02story? Hey, hey, hey, hey.
- 19:05It's haphazardly made. There was a time I thought
- 19:09someone, like, opened my door and I did have to, like, grab
- 19:13something heavy. I, like, grabbed whatever was on
- 19:14my night stand, and I'm like, hello.
- 19:16I opened my bedroom door and no, nothing.
- 19:19I walk into the kitchen thinking someone fully, like, came in.
- 19:21Yeah, because I thought I heard my door close.
- 19:23Wow. Might have been my neighbors
- 19:25just slamming it because the walls are thin.
- 19:27Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was going to say that
- 19:29logically I feel like I would have gone there, but then again,
- 19:33I never. You see like the footsteps, like
- 19:34I hear them. I thought I heard them right
- 19:35here. No the.
- 19:36Footsteps are the toddler that lives upstairs.
- 19:39I I always lock my door. I I can't, I can't go to bed
- 19:44last night. I.
- 19:45Did my my closing shift and I realized my door had been open
- 19:48all evening. Like not even fully closed,
- 19:52allegedly. Yeah, yeah.
- 19:54I can't go to bed without without locking it.
- 19:56I have to remember. That's just the anxiety in me,
- 19:58but that's OK. So the story starts in Tennessee
- 20:01around 1817 with a farmer named Old McDonald.
- 20:04I'm kidding. I was about to say Goodyear.
- 20:06Good name named John Bell. Simple.
- 20:12One day he's out walking his property when he spots something
- 20:15strange in the field property to wanna walk.
- 20:20He's walking his. Property.
- 20:22He's out walking his property, OK.
- 20:23OK, depending on. Who's telling the story?
- 20:26It looked kind of like a dog, except it had the head of a
- 20:29rabbit. His property on his property.
- 20:32Oh, his property. Yeah.
- 20:33Yeah, his property had. Oh, he saw.
- 20:35This on the property. Yes, he saw this.
- 20:36On his property, he supposedly shoots at the thing, but it
- 20:41disappears, vanishes. He just walks.
- 20:43His property with a gun. I mean, he's a.
- 20:45Farmer. You have to and it's 18.
- 20:46What, they're 18? 17 There's coyotes, there's
- 20:50bears, there's, I don't know, there's bears in Tennessee, but
- 20:53I feel like. There is, there's bears
- 20:54everywhere. There's tigers.
- 20:56Everywhere and sharks everywhere.
- 20:57You never know. There's no body, there's no
- 21:00blood, nothing. It's just gone now.
- 21:04Could have been an animal he misidentified?
- 21:07Maybe, but according to the legend, that wasn't the end of
- 21:11it. It was just the beginning.
- 21:15Brian, if you saw a rabbit headed dog staring at you from a
- 21:19field, the field was staring back at you.
- 21:23What's your immediate reaction to this creature?
- 21:26Like right now. We're in 1817 right now.
- 21:28I. I'm taking out my phone and I'm
- 21:31zooming in with a good. Quality, not knowing.
- 21:33Yeah, I'm like, hello. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:34Not. Know I'm pinching.
- 21:36Right now 2K. Pixelated camera no.
- 21:38No super. Like we have. 4K cameras in our
- 21:41phones like we have. No, we should not have grainy
- 21:44UFO footage, but some of us. Have no storage, Brian.
- 21:46Some of us can't even take video valid.
- 21:49At that point it's just your word versus photographic
- 21:52evidence. Got it.
- 21:53No, I'd be scared. Yeah, I, I think it's pretty
- 21:55freaky and it reminds me of like the oddities fair, like
- 21:58conventions that they have around LA or Ontario where they
- 22:01have like taxidermied what's Jack rabbits with antlers or
- 22:06yeah, yeah, yeah, things like that.
- 22:07Add that to the. List we have to go.
- 22:08I would love to. Go to the oddities.
- 22:11Why did I wish for that? I don't know.
- 22:13So they don't hear you, so they don't they.
- 22:14They're always listening. Not long after the weird
- 22:18sighting, the Bell family started hearing noises around
- 22:21their house. Not just the occasional Creek,
- 22:23but talking. Nope.
- 22:25There was scratching coming from outside the walls, knocking on
- 22:29doors when nobody was outside, sounds of chains dragging.
- 22:33The things were reported to be moving around at night.
- 22:37At first they thought it might be animals outside.
- 22:39They thought maybe somebody was messing with them.
- 22:41Yeah, the bear is. Knocking on the door.
- 22:42The Bear. The bear would be scratching.
- 22:44What if it's scratching in the back on the side of your wall?
- 22:46You never know. Yeah, they do that, but
- 22:49eventually they couldn't explain it, and whatever was making the
- 22:52noises seemed to be getting bolder.
- 22:56Imagine trying to sleep at night in this very bed and something
- 23:00scratches at your bedroom wall every single night.
- 23:03No. I'm scared I have to.
- 23:05That also stays completely closed, blinds fully closed.
- 23:09My biggest fear, someone just looking like into my window.
- 23:11Yeah. Yeah, 'cause I mean, it's right
- 23:13there, yeah. It's a little hard 'cause I'm on
- 23:17the 5th floor, so no one tried to come in to my fifth floor
- 23:21apartment to the fifth floor. Apartment Fifth.
- 23:23FIFTH, at that point I would just tell them to move in and
- 23:28pay me half the rent. If you're going to be doing that
- 23:30every single night, give me property.
- 23:31Taxes. You're You're on my property,
- 23:33you're on my. Property you're walking.
- 23:34My property my. Property is my roommate, so
- 23:40things started taking a dark turn.
- 23:42Sorry. Just like footsies.
- 23:43No, you're. Good.
- 23:44You're good. Did you get scared?
- 23:47I was like, what's happening? You know?
- 23:49Yeah. I thought you saw.
- 23:50No, I. It perfectly blends it because
- 23:52your song has the same colour as like the little stripe.
- 23:56Like so, John Bell's daughter Betsy became the main target.
- 24:02LA Betsy, not Betsy. According to the stories, she'd
- 24:06wake up with scratches on her face and arms.
- 24:09Sometimes she'd feel something gank her hair.
- 24:12Other times, she reported to getting slapped by something,
- 24:14but nobody could see it. The attacks became so frequent
- 24:18that neighbors were invited over to witness what was happening.
- 24:21Guys, we're. Having creepy stuff overcome.
- 24:23Watch dude like guys. My daughter's being attacked by
- 24:25this ghost, by this entity. You have to come see this bring
- 24:28up high. I feel like most people
- 24:30experiment, like, oh really? I feel like most people
- 24:35experiencing this or something paranormal keep it to
- 24:37themselves. They're freaked out.
- 24:39They're like, or maybe they told someone close, but to tell your
- 24:42neighbors to come over, Like, what are they trying to prove?
- 24:44Like, hey, we're not crazy. We swear this is happening.
- 24:46Come check it out, please. Well, there.
- 24:48There's something validating in in someone else experiencing
- 24:51something, too. Like if I'm sorry, I hear weird
- 24:54things here. If Jerry's in here and he's
- 24:55like, oh, my God, yeah, you hear that, too.
- 24:58Yeah. I would feel less crazy.
- 25:00I think keeping it to yourself makes you more nervous.
- 25:04Yeah. Makes your mind create things.
- 25:06Talked about that 2 episodes ago.
- 25:07Check it out. If your kid kept waking up with
- 25:09unexplained scratches, would your first thought be ghost or
- 25:13something else? No.
- 25:14My first thought is they're looking for attention, OK.
- 25:16OK, negative seeking behavior. Yeah, I'm going to be.
- 25:19That parent that is like fully being oblivious on demonic stuff
- 25:25happening in the house. Ignorance is bliss, you know,
- 25:26just like the mom. And Hereditary.
- 25:28Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've never seen that movie.
- 25:30Oh, Jerry, it's all I need to watch it.
- 25:31It's not good for you. For you specifically, it's not
- 25:34good. OK, I.
- 25:35Won't watch it. I'm going to watch Kill.
- 25:36Birds. I'm not watching it.
- 25:39I'm not. I'm just kidding.
- 25:41There's no birds. No.
- 25:41Birds are harmed. I don't think, I don't remember.
- 25:44We'll see. I'll put it on the list.
- 25:45I have a list of 1000 movies. So let's talk about this ghost
- 25:49or entity. The thing haunting the Bell
- 25:53family supposedly started talking and not making random
- 25:56noises or whispering full on conversations.
- 26:00Witnesses claimed it answered questions, told jokes, sang
- 26:05songs, quoted Bible verses and carried on discussions with
- 26:09visitors. Imagine walking into a house and
- 26:13instead of seeing a ghost, you hear a ghost roasting everybody
- 26:17in the room. Because according to some
- 26:19accounts, that's basically what happened.
- 26:22The Spirit apparently loved trash talking and eventually it
- 26:25got named Kate Oh. I thought this ghost was like a
- 26:28gay man just reading them. Most people know it by now as
- 26:32the Bell Witch Bell because I was the name of the family, you
- 26:36know, and. Which, because they were, they
- 26:38couldn't say bitch it. You said it, you said it best.
- 26:42So what do you think is worse, Brian?
- 26:43A ghost that silently watches you from a corner, or one that
- 26:47won't stop talking. It truly depends on the
- 26:52conversation. What?
- 26:53If you guys are just having a good old time, yeah, what if
- 26:55you're just. Roasting each other like it
- 26:57helps pass the time. It's 1817, we don't have phones,
- 27:00TV. There's no TV, you're just
- 27:02watching. You're.
- 27:03Like watching the leaves fall for entertainment or something.
- 27:06There's ticks. Oh.
- 27:07I don't. Want to deal with those?
- 27:09Just no TikTok. So the weird thing is that the
- 27:11spirit didn't seem interested in terrorizing everyone equally,
- 27:14just little Beth. It really hated John Bell.
- 27:18Oh yeah. So the attack started with
- 27:20Betsy, but it especially hated the farmer John Bell.
- 27:25Was that the dad? Probably.
- 27:26Yeah. According to the legend, it
- 27:28constantly mocked him, called him names, threatened him, and
- 27:32made his life miserable whenever it could.
- 27:35Could you imagine being bullied by a ghost for years?
- 27:39The bell, which was apparently involved with Betsy's love life,
- 27:43the daughters. She was engaged to a young man
- 27:45named Joshua Gardner, and the spirit supposedly harassed a
- 27:48couple so much that the relationship eventually fell
- 27:51apart. She.
- 27:52Said leave room for Jesus and for the Bell witch, the ghost
- 27:55said. You deserve so much better.
- 27:56Like Nah, I don't approve of this dude.
- 27:58You know what she probably did? She did the freaking the Bloody
- 28:01Mary original thing to find her freaking lover.
- 28:03Yeah, that's. Right and miss.
- 28:05Betsy said not Betsy and Miss Bell witch said that's not the
- 28:09one like Kate. Kate was like, no, that's not,
- 28:12that's not her, no. That's not him.
- 28:15Kate 3. Times in the mirror and she said
- 28:16get the fuck out got. It got it, got it, and a beer
- 28:23appeared, so add that to the. List of Tik Toks to make.
- 28:27We can make that on our TikTok account.
- 28:29You got it. Then comes a part that makes
- 28:31this legend famous. Years into the haunting, John
- 28:35Bell became seriously ill. Oh.
- 28:37No, his health. Continued getting worse until
- 28:40one day the family reportedly found a small vial filled with
- 28:43an unknown liquid. Nobody knew where it came from.
- 28:47This is where folklore and history start blending together
- 28:51because according to later accounts of the legend, after a
- 28:53mysterious bio of dark liquid was discovered near John Bell's
- 28:57bedside, the Bell Witch allegedly claimed
- 29:00responsibility. One version says the entity
- 29:03boasted that it had poison Bell while he slept.
- 29:06The story became one of the most famous parts of the legend and
- 29:09is the reason the Bell Witch is often called the only ghost in
- 29:13American folklore accused of murder.
- 29:16However, historians point out that these details come from
- 29:20accounts recorded decades after the events and can't be
- 29:23independently verified. A spirit claiming responsibility
- 29:27I think is the wildest part and why it's so famous.
- 29:30A spirit talking. That much?
- 29:32Yeah. Joking.
- 29:33Singing, quoting Bible verses out.
- 29:35I think that was pretty. You know what?
- 29:37No, that's not a ghost. Someone's living in the walls.
- 29:40It's a squatter. It's a squatter.
- 29:41It's a squatter. The bell squatter.
- 29:46This is the squat witch the squat.
- 29:48Witch that's the the origins of squatters.
- 29:51Look it up. Yeah, Butcher's dictionary.
- 29:52It's the bell Witch. She lived.
- 29:54In the walls, yeah. John Bell died shortly after.
- 29:58Now, obviously there's no way to prove that any of that happened,
- 30:01but that's the legend. And that's why the Bell Witch is
- 30:04often called the only ghost in American folklore accused of
- 30:07killing someone. It wasn't just haunting them, it
- 30:09wasn't just scaring them, but it was killing them.
- 30:12What's scarier to you, oh demon, a ghost, or a witch?
- 30:23Not all witches are scary. Agree the.
- 30:27Bell Witch, though, sounds like she she has a vendetta.
- 30:32I feel like we could be friends. So I'm going to say demon.
- 30:34OK? Because a ghost, they don't know
- 30:37what's going on. They they truly don't.
- 30:39Yeah. They're just doing their best
- 30:40sometimes. Just like living in a cycle.
- 30:42Yeah. A demon, though, he's not like
- 30:48he, she, they. They're not over here.
- 30:50Just like roasting me. Roasting is fun.
- 30:54Speaking in tongues, That's scary.
- 30:56Yeah. One's absorbing life and just
- 31:00leeching from you and the other one is giving you life and
- 31:02telling you jokes and. Slay Mama, Slay Miss Kate.
- 31:07Last question, if someone offered you $50,000, would you
- 31:11spend one night completely alone in the Bell Witch house?
- 31:14Yeah. Yeah, absolutely no phone.
- 31:17No flashlight, no we're. Going to keep each other
- 31:19entertained. She knows so many stories. 1817
- 31:24Imagine how much like how much older the spirit or the the the
- 31:28witch is. I know she's had time to.
- 31:31Yeah, yeah, for sure. She's charged.
- 31:33She's charged up. She sees a lot of death.
- 31:35Is that, do we know that building still alive or that
- 31:37building still around? That's a great.
- 31:39Question I don't in Tennessee, I don't remember.
- 31:41I'm sure it has to be. It is it is, it is.
- 31:43I did see a picture of it I. Wonder if it's on Airbnb.
- 31:46Which house can I rent a night? Is it $50,000?
- 31:50You pay me. That is a scary looking house.
- 31:56It's all brick. Brick has something to do with
- 31:58haunts I think that's. Just a sign.
- 32:00Oh, I thought it was that. Building behind it, yeah, so did
- 32:03I. But I think that's just that,
- 32:04the sign house. Once Upon a time, a house was
- 32:08here, yeah. It like that's the year like the
- 32:11original, like I think, oh, that's.
- 32:12Gone. That's a wooden shack.
- 32:14So I think that's. Where it stood.
- 32:15So the the the sign, the sign itself is there.
- 32:17What did I say? Last week, ghosts.
- 32:19They don't exist. Outside, they don't exist.
- 32:21Outside OH. My God, there was one episode of
- 32:24Ghost Adventures where they were ghost hunting a demon just on a
- 32:28bridge just outside. Not a troll I I guess I
- 32:34remember. It was a scary episode.
- 32:35Wow. Then I saw a separate video that
- 32:37was like Ghost Adventures is the most fake ghost hunting show in
- 32:40existence. Zac Bagans.
- 32:43I want. To go to his museum, so do I.
- 32:44I've seen people do like me before the Haunted museum and
- 32:48then me after and they look terrible.
- 32:50All that energy sucked out of you, Yeah.
- 32:52What's in there? What's behind those walls?
- 32:54Well, isn't the. It's in Vegas, I think.
- 32:56Yeah, it's the. Annabelle doll hit it or or
- 32:59stored there, I don't know. Add that to the list, Your
- 33:03information's old Annabelle killed that man.
- 33:06You're right. Get on my heart attack.
- 33:07You're right. And he rests in peace.
- 33:10Wow. God damn.
- 33:11We did the episode. Like he that was a long time
- 33:14ago, a year ago. So I also wanted to comment that
- 33:16this is the first like paranormal case that I've talked
- 33:20about in a while. I think I've talked about
- 33:21cryptids and more. Yeah, these past couple, just
- 33:24cause we've been like full of trade places.
- 33:26Yeah, I was all like ghost, ghost, ghost the last couple of
- 33:28weeks. That was your bed.
- 33:30I know Jerry keeps making squeaking noises.
- 33:32That sound like he's just too in it's.
- 33:34It's the bed. So yeah, that was that was a
- 33:36cool little change. I am glad I did some research on
- 33:40that and that was cool. So if I'm ever in Tennessee, you
- 33:43know I'll be by that sign so I can get.
- 33:45Out Hello Kate. Bring him here.
- 33:47Do the Kate Kate Kate challenge? No, because then.
- 33:50I might take the cotton. So, yeah.
- 33:52Beer, right? I was a cat, he said.
- 33:54Tea no. Well, Jerry, I love that.
- 33:57Thank you, Brian. I want to look.
- 33:58Into that more, thank you. But can you tell me what haunted
- 34:02you this week? Well, I stated at the top of
- 34:06this episode, I've been haunted by sports and I was just doing
- 34:11my he he ha ha on my social media, as per usual, go sports.
- 34:16And I came across something very relevant to what's happening in
- 34:22the world right now with the World Cup.
- 34:24OK, but also right up our alley of being very kind of weird,
- 34:29kind of silly, kind of he he ha ha.
- 34:32I feel like this story is going to take us back a little bit too
- 34:35early episodes. But Jerry, did you know octopus
- 34:40or psychic? Or so they thought back during
- 34:43the 2010 FIFA World Cup when Paul the Octopus correctly
- 34:48predicted the outcome of each of Germany's games.
- 34:51What? I heard that and immediately
- 34:54thought, yeah, octopuses are definitely aliens.
- 34:59What do you? Mean an octopus correctly picked
- 35:01who is going to win World Cup games, and you're going to be
- 35:04shocked to see how many they guessed correctly.
- 35:09Jerry, you're a big soccer fan, and if memory serves me right,
- 35:12you come from a big Kusasur family.
- 35:14Yes. Did you ever catch wind of this
- 35:17back in 2010? I know we were all a little
- 35:20distracted by Shakira's waka waka that that.
- 35:23That was world. Cup that song.
- 35:24Was the World Cup. I was 1312 years old, 09798 Oh,
- 35:36you're so young. Sorry.
- 35:38I was 12 years old. So I think I was just more
- 35:41enamoured by the uniforms, the Mexico uniforms at the time.
- 35:44I still have that jersey. It's so fucking iconic.
- 35:46The Jabulani, which was at the ball that they used in that
- 35:49World Cup. I was like, what?
- 35:50The what is that like? What the?
- 35:51Fuck, did you just call me? I had never, ever, ever heard
- 35:55about an octopus. And you texted me something in
- 35:57the morning. Yeah.
- 35:59And I, I just ignored it because I'm like, I don't understand
- 36:01what he what you're saying. Like what he said psychic
- 36:05octopus goes crazy. That's you said something else
- 36:10which now makes sense. I said no wait what?
- 36:12Where you at? No idea so.
- 36:15Funny is when I mentioned to Jerry yesterday, because we we
- 36:20sometimes will give each other some information of like, well,
- 36:22what, what ballpark we're going to be in for the episode.
- 36:25Yeah, all I said was psychic octopus.
- 36:27Yep. I had a.
- 36:28Full on message typed out of explaining it that I never said.
- 36:33Amazing. And this morning?
- 36:34When I want to go text you, it was there and I'm like, let me
- 36:37send it now. Now I'm going to keep them in
- 36:39the dark. Yeah, just to.
- 36:40See, I appreciate that. Thank you.
- 36:41All I thought was you're calling me that because I have an
- 36:44octopus tattooed on me. Or Paul because I texted you.
- 36:47Let me see. That looks like a Paul.
- 36:50Wow, do. You know what kind of octopus it
- 36:52was a common. Octopus.
- 36:54Wow, I knew the the scientific name but I forgot it but I did
- 36:58Google it because there's sit tight, sit tight.
- 37:02I'm sitting. I'm sitting I.
- 37:04Have vague vague, vague recollections of this because I
- 37:09was a YouTube kid like early on I was I was on their ad block on
- 37:13watching YouTube because I was like 1314 I was not interested
- 37:18in no in no soccer, but this, this was a big thing.
- 37:22So if some of you guys are of a certain age, you maybe are aware
- 37:26of Paul the Octopus. Back in 2010, Paul the Octopus
- 37:31had just celebrated his 2nd birthday.
- 37:34On any given day, he would be lounging around his tank at Sea
- 37:37Life Aquarium in the German city of Oberhausen.
- 37:42Little did he know his life and ultimately the lives of soccer
- 37:46fans around the world would be forever changed as the word
- 37:52spread of his existence, the aquarium would be inundated with
- 37:54visitors and media from all across Europe hoping to see the
- 37:57Magic octopus in action. Dubbed the Psychic Octopus, Paul
- 38:01became an overnight worldwide celebrity for accurately
- 38:04predicting Germany's World Cup wins and defeats.
- 38:09Based on his. Predictions alone betters made
- 38:12fortunes, Graham Sharp, the media relations director at
- 38:16London's William Hill, says. I've seen a lot of things in my
- 38:19lifetime, but this is the first time I've ever seen people
- 38:22making their picks based on what an octopus tells them.
- 38:25And I'll say that in German. Nope, he's English.
- 38:29Oh, just kidding, he continues. We heard people coming in saying
- 38:33they didn't know how to place a bet, but heard about this German
- 38:35octopus and wanted to bet with him.
- 38:37It's ludicrous, but he kept getting it right.
- 38:40It's one of the finest tipping feats ever.
- 38:44So how was an octopus voicing its opinions with its mouth?
- 38:50The team at Sea Life Center would place two boxes, clear OK,
- 38:55with one singular muscle inside of it.
- 38:59And on the front of the boxes would be the respective teams
- 39:02flex OK. One box would be labeled Germany
- 39:06with the other labeled whatever team that they're going to be
- 39:08competing against either that day or the next day.
- 39:13Paul would then be released and whatever box he opened first
- 39:16would be labeled his prediction. What is not as well known is
- 39:21that Paul had already been making predictions for a while.
- 39:24His first soccer prediction was during the Euro 2008 tournament.
- 39:28In a similar manner, flags were lowered to his tank and whatever
- 39:31he gravitated to 1st would be called his prediction.
- 39:34During that tournament, he correctly guessed the outcome of
- 39:36four out of 6 Germany games. That's crazy.
- 39:40So what changed? The Internet 2008 to 2010 Crazy
- 39:46jump and where we're at with social media.
- 39:49In 2010, YouTube had turned 5 years old and had become the
- 39:52primary site for video sharing. In that same year, Facebook hit
- 39:55a record-breaking 500 million user base.
- 39:59Seeing an easy way to reach larger audiences.
- 40:02Sea Life Center got to work. Good.
- 40:06Do you remember the early eras of viral videos?
- 40:11Yes, but I can't like Charlie. Bit my finger.
- 40:16It's it's within that era where it kind of felt like everyone
- 40:21had seen a video. If it had gone viral, you could
- 40:25bring it up to anyone and they they would know.
- 40:28Back then the. Internet was so small.
- 40:30Yeah, it was for reference. Now in 2026, a TikTok can have
- 40:34millions of views over a million likes and it's could still be
- 40:39considered niche like a very specific topic back then.
- 40:45Millions of views. Why was this octopus not on
- 40:47Ellen? This was prime.
- 40:51If you're in a viral video, you go on Ellen Ellen for.
- 40:54Sure. And re enacting or talking about
- 40:56damn Daniel. Yeah yeah, target.
- 40:59Target the guy from target just for being hot and white.
- 41:02Wow, that's so true. As a 2010 FIFA World Cup
- 41:08approach, Sea Life Center put Paul front and center on
- 41:11YouTube. 16 years ago this week, Paul made his first prediction
- 41:17for Germany in the game of Germany versus Australia.
- 41:20He picked Germany as the winner and on June 13th, 2010, Germany
- 41:24won four to zero. Damn.
- 41:27Next Paul's presented with Germany and Serbia.
- 41:31Paul picked Serbia instead of Germany.
- 41:36The Germans held their breath. They're like, no way.
- 41:38OK, it's over. We're done here.
- 41:39Yeah. Paul.
- 41:41Not real. He's not psychic.
- 41:44However, on June 18th, Germany loses to Serbia 0 to 1.
- 41:49Whoa, the Germans. Went wild, dude.
- 41:54They believed that Paul had turned its back on them.
- 41:57Many called for him to be turned into calamari.
- 41:59There was headlines. We're cooking up Paul.
- 42:01Yeah, Yeah. How dare he be right against us?
- 42:06So sad. Death threats in sports, are we
- 42:08surprised? Are we surprised The aquarium
- 42:11went so far as to install additional security cameras just
- 42:15because maybe there was some validity to this threat?
- 42:20The following game was Germany versus Ghana.
- 42:23Without hesitation, Paul ran to Germany, raising hopes for
- 42:26another victory. And on June 23rd, Germany won
- 42:29against Ghana. One to zero.
- 42:31Wow. That's so cool.
- 42:33With three correct guesses in a row, Paul became an unstoppable
- 42:37force. As he should his win.
- 42:39Streak continued. He would go on to predict
- 42:42Germany's wins against England, Argentina and the devastating
- 42:46loss to Spain in the semifinals. But it also ended up predicting
- 42:51Germany's third place win against What a why?
- 42:56After predicting Spain would beat Germany, Spain became so
- 42:59invested in Paul that the then Spanish Prime Minister, Jose
- 43:02Luis Rodriguez Zapatera jokingly offered him protection because
- 43:07Germans were threatening to eat him.
- 43:09Oh my. Goodness, Sharp the.
- 43:12The guy I mentioned earlier, the betting guy, he said we had
- 43:17people coming in asking who Paul had picked before they placed
- 43:20their bets. I'm sure there were a lot more
- 43:22people too, who were a little embarrassed to tell you they
- 43:26made their bet based on what the octopus said.
- 43:32Would you be embarrassed to say that you're placing bets based
- 43:34on an octopus? No.
- 43:36With pride I mean 9 brains, three hearts.
- 43:40Why would I be ashamed of that? Why would I be embarrassed?
- 43:43This alien is predicting my bets in my.
- 43:48Current mindset is just funny to me like this.
- 43:51This octopus is, yeah, is on a roll.
- 43:55All my money. It reminds me of the whole
- 43:56freaking GameStop thing during COVID where people were buying
- 44:00stocks in GameStop just to like as a meme, but then people were
- 44:04making money early on. It's to me, it's the same
- 44:07mentality. I also want to say that I would
- 44:10probably do it just because of meme culture 'cause I think we
- 44:14are so far rotted in our brains. Why not?
- 44:18Yeah, yeah. I think more people would play
- 44:22into it now. I think it's so.
- 44:23Funny to just be like, oh, this this squirrel decided my last
- 44:27five bets that got it right and I'm still making money Like
- 44:30that's so wacky. Why would you not?
- 44:32It's not the. Only time we've been putting a
- 44:33lot of faith into these animals. Do you remember no bones days
- 44:37with the dog on TikTok? If he stood up it was a good
- 44:40bones day and if it wasn't it was a no bones day.
- 44:43Remember when he passed away? Yeah, yeah.
- 44:48And for how many decades have we used a freaking hedgehog looking
- 44:54at a shadow? Yep, to see if we're going to
- 44:55have a couple more weeks of winter.
- 44:59Since the beginning of time it feels then why?
- 45:01Can't Octopus be psychic and correctly predict who's going to
- 45:05win? They are.
- 45:06They really are. That's why I got a tattooed on
- 45:07me. Now you're.
- 45:08Psychic you got Paul. Inked into your small tattooed
- 45:12on my bicep. OK so same betting guy claims
- 45:16that Paul's predictions made about half £1,000,000.
- 45:20It was the first time in his thirty years that he had seen
- 45:22such a widely orchestrated use of a non human tipster.
- 45:27Paul even predicted the championship correctly selecting
- 45:30Spain as the winner against the Netherlands.
- 45:33All in all, Paul was 8 for eight on bets.
- 45:36Whoa. Multiple countries would cut to
- 45:39Paul during the broadcast to see him make his predictions for the
- 45:42coming games. They would stop whatever is
- 45:44airing 'cause they're like Paul is making his his bets.
- 45:47He's seeing who's gonna win. I am.
- 45:50Confident that if we go on YouTube or just online we can
- 45:53find live streams or no the videos are.
- 45:55There I looked at them. I wanna see.
- 45:56Them I will show them. To you.
- 45:57I wanna see them, but they're really interesting because in
- 46:00some of them, Yahoo instantly gravitate to one, open it right
- 46:03away. But in some other ones, he's
- 46:05like kind of caught in between them.
- 46:08But the final decision is the one that he opens and eats the
- 46:11the muscle that's on the inside. Yeah.
- 46:13And it's just one singular muscle, same size in each one.
- 46:18That's good. That's a good.
- 46:19That's some quality entertainment right there.
- 46:23After picking Spain as a championship winner, one
- 46:25broadcast commenter said that Spain had removed octopus from
- 46:28its menus for the entire country.
- 46:30Good. He was literally the talk of the
- 46:33Internet. The videos of him making his
- 46:36selections raked in millions of views, taking up the top spots
- 46:39of the most viewed videos for that entire run.
- 46:42Are octopus psychic? Yes.
- 46:45Who? Knows the odds of Paul randomly
- 46:49predicting all eight wins correctly is A1 in 256 chance,
- 46:53which is .39%. That's very, very, very small.
- 47:00Let it be known that's also very similar odds to finding a shiny
- 47:04Pokémon with a shiny charm. No way.
- 47:08And chaining them in different games.
- 47:09Yes, that's amazing. So you could you in my
- 47:13perception of this perspective, it's not all that impossible.
- 47:18I've caught so many shiny Pokémon so those odds may seem
- 47:23very low, but you can do something 236 times and just one
- 47:29of those times do you have to fully get it right?
- 47:32It's like flipping a coin 8 times and it being heads every
- 47:35single time. Let's do.
- 47:36It right now I don't have a coin.
- 47:37Neither do I I'm. Just kidding, but.
- 47:39It's the exact same odds because it's 5050.
- 47:41You don't know. Yeah, there are hundreds of
- 47:45other animals allegedly making predictions right now for the
- 47:482026 World Cup in Mexico. The Guadalajara Zoo is currently
- 47:52having their own animals make predictions in very similar way.
- 47:56They, I think, have lions, elephants, I.
- 48:00Didn't. There was more that I saw on a
- 48:01TikTok but doing the exact same thing.
- 48:03They're just having them guess at the end of the day.
- 48:08I believe honestly it's it's all due to chance.
- 48:11I don't think this octopus is psychic.
- 48:13I'm so sorry. Yeah, the other slim, but out of
- 48:17maybe hundreds of animals making these predictions, the most
- 48:22famous 1 is going to be the one who's getting the most right.
- 48:25There could be 0 correlation and it just so.
- 48:27Happens that that animal has three hearts and nine brains
- 48:32with blue blood. Unfortunately, Paul passed away
- 48:38that same year. Yeah, I guess when you're an
- 48:42octopus, you don't keep winning when the momentum is going.
- 48:47Maybe Paul wanted to go out with a flawless run.
- 48:50We'll never know. Except we will, because Stefan
- 48:57Portillo, the manager of Sea Life Center at the time, said
- 48:59that Paul died peacefully of natural causes.
- 49:01According to them, the common octopus has a short lifespan,
- 49:04averaging about one to two years.
- 49:06I wanted. To say that earlier, but I'm
- 49:07like, I'm not going to be that. Actually, Brian, did you know
- 49:10that? That's why I told.
- 49:11You also to wait OK, that's why I.
- 49:12Just shut up and I waited for you to finish.
- 49:13So there it is. Yeah, they have a very short
- 49:16life lifespan. That's why I.
- 49:18Knew the scientific name because I'm like that's shady.
- 49:20What do you mean? It died right after making all
- 49:22these predictions and making people thousands of dollars.
- 49:25Someone had something to do with this but no, the species I
- 49:28looked up it did say it was one or two years on average because
- 49:31their breeding habits are terrible.
- 49:35Sucks. So sorry that sucks.
- 49:38What do you think? Was Paul psychic or did luck
- 49:40just happen to strike eight times?
- 49:43Once, maybe twice. OK, coincidence. 3 times 45678
- 49:56No, that's not coincidence. Paul was psychic, but the
- 50:00chance? Is there I could accurately
- 50:02predict something 8 times and that is 101 in a 230 something
- 50:06chance? And have you?
- 50:08No, you're not psychic. Why are you being so mean?
- 50:14Because I'm always. Going to take the animal side
- 50:17always. OK PETA, I am literally a druid.
- 50:21Yeah, I wonder what? PETA had to say about this,
- 50:24probably mad that it was in the captivity.
- 50:25Good reason with good reason. Was it did they ever like I I
- 50:31have follow up questions. Was Paul injured, rehabilitated,
- 50:35stayed in I that don't have that.
- 50:37Information. Unfortunately, no, that's fine.
- 50:39That's that's all good. Like when?
- 50:40They did, and the World Cup they did give him an honorary trophy.
- 50:45Not FIFA. Oh OK, it's going to be aquarium
- 50:49people gave him. A World Cup they gave him a.
- 50:51Replica There's a really cute picture of him on it.
- 50:53That's what I want to show you the.
- 50:56FIFA came down and they put a whole replica World Cup trophy.
- 51:00Oh my God, I didn't. Save it.
- 51:03No, Paul the Octopus. World Cup.
- 51:07Trophy. I saved it on my iPad, that's
- 51:08why. Wow.
- 51:10That's so cool. Look at him.
- 51:14That's so cool. He's so tiny.
- 51:15Oh yeah. Yeah, it's a little replica
- 51:17World Cup. That's cool.
- 51:19And like these are the boxes. That's when he.
- 51:22Picked Spain to win. That's so.
- 51:23Cool. Yeah, it's a little.
- 51:26That's adorable. I really want to find one like I
- 51:30obviously respect wildlife. Please do not like grab things
- 51:34if you don't know, especially the.
- 51:35Turtles in Hawaii. Any animals just in general, But
- 51:39I, I know there's a lot of videos that I see like like in,
- 51:42in the, what are they called the tide pods, tide pools, tide
- 51:46pods. Oops, no, we eat those, but no,
- 51:49the tide pools and yummy snacks and they'll be like, oh, look at
- 51:53this tiny blue ring octopus and you know you're not supposed to
- 51:56touch blue ring octopus or might be venomous, but they just look
- 51:59so cute and they're just like there's yeah they're just there
- 52:01and they're like floating or swimming.
- 52:03I I wanted, I want to live that. I want to go to some tide pools,
- 52:06so you're. Afraid of the ocean, but.
- 52:08Tide pools are cool because they have little ecosystems.
- 52:10Wonderful wave comes. Well, you wish you were in the
- 52:14forest instead. Well, I would go.
- 52:15During low tide that when tide pools are are are actually at
- 52:19their peak. Yeah, at their.
- 52:20Peak so that I know there's no waves coming in, but at that
- 52:23point I would still prefer to be in the forest.
- 52:26OK. Thank you friend.
- 52:27That was awesome. Thank you for isn't that.
- 52:29Isn't that cute? Super cute.
- 52:30Wacky. Story and on theme to what's
- 52:33going on. Yeah, since you're now a sports
- 52:35guy, keeping that. Momentum going.
- 52:37My song recommendation for the week is Waka Waka by Shakira.
- 52:41That's a. Great fucking.
- 52:42Song No, I'm going to. Recommend her new song for the
- 52:46World Cup, Die Die. Here you.
- 52:48Go. It's going to look it up.
- 52:49It's a good one, Motionless. And I also dropped a new song
- 52:52today with Skyler Grey. Oh my God.
- 52:54Promote that one. I'm promoting that one.
- 52:55Do your job as a. Fan Jerry.
- 52:56I'm going. That was my recommendation.
- 52:58I just wanted to piggyback off of you first.
- 53:01They have a new song called RIP featuring Skyler Grey.
- 53:08Oh my. God, they did it for Paul.
- 53:11The key. Rest in peace.
- 53:13Rest in Paul, rest in Paul, everyone.
- 53:17That's my song. That's my song.
- 53:20Hope you guys. Enjoyed the episode.
- 53:22I did. That was fun recording this in
- 53:24the moment I was having fun. Good one.
- 53:26Yeah, it was. Fun and it was wacky.
- 53:27Love it also. It could be the glass of wine I
- 53:29had because I feel real warm and real silly.
- 53:32That's a full glass that I see right next to you.
- 53:34I've. That's my second glass.
- 53:36You didn't see me pour it. You went all the way down to the
- 53:39first floor, went back up to the fifth floor.
- 53:41To my kitchen on the 1st floor on the 1st.
- 53:43Floor refilled your cup where there's no.
- 53:45Windows for you to look in exactly and.
- 53:48Now you have a full cup again. OK, I'll chug, I'll chug.
- 53:51Bye. Cheers everyone.
- 53:52Have a good Thursday. Adios.
