- 0:02Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Eye Opener Society. Thank you so very much
- 0:06for tuning in and joining me.
- 0:08And don't worry, my room is not on fire. That's just my incense that happens
- 0:11to be right in front of the camera, if you are watching this.
- 0:14Anyway, my name is Gary Dean. I am the host of Eye Opener Society.
- 0:18I am the minister of the church, Eye Opener Society. And we run this alongside
- 0:23our other cosmic fairy princess, Lizzie.
- 0:26And I wanted to talk about something that Lizzie wanted me to talk about something.
- 0:34I'd like to give some motivation on these Saturday morning shows.
- 0:38If you are joining me on a Saturday morning, that's wonderful.
- 0:41But whatever time that you're joining me, welcome. Thank you for tuning in.
- 0:47We're getting out of the season. Now, again, depending where you are,
- 0:51I'm on the East Coast, the United States, Pennsylvania area.
- 0:54And we're coming out of Basically winter And here in Pennsylvania we have false
- 1:00winter We have spring then we have winter again It's kind of wild But we're
- 1:05getting into that trend Where we're starting to break out of things,
- 1:10We're breaking away from the snow We're breaking away from the cold And we're
- 1:13starting to warm up So namely me During the winter when there's not much going
- 1:18on The grounds are frozen And I can't get outside as much I spend pretty much
- 1:23winter hibernating. Now.
- 1:27We need to start changing, and we need to start applying some polar opposites,
- 1:32I think, to the way that we live, the way that we choose to do things,
- 1:36the way that we function.
- 1:38This keeps not only the body moving, but it also keeps the soul moving.
- 1:44And what we mean by this is the fact that we can spend so much time doing only one thing.
- 1:52And regardless, if it is something that we love, that's great,
- 1:55and if we're doing it all the time, that's wonderful. But every now and then,
- 1:58why not try the polar opposite?
- 2:02Try something unique, something different, something that's going to spark a
- 2:05new interest. Or maybe you realize, no, that wasn't for me.
- 2:10So if you spend a lot of time watching TV and that's your thing and you love
- 2:16doing it and you're spending all that time in front of the television,
- 2:20why not try doing something else?
- 2:23Why not try turning that TV off and going outside? Maybe picking up a book and
- 2:26reading a book and maybe even reading a book based upon the movies you're watching
- 2:30or the TV shows that you're watching, especially if they are based upon a book that was written.
- 2:37Try these things. Reason for this, it's not so much just to get you to realize
- 2:43that there's other things that are available to you that you might actually enjoy.
- 2:49But again, it's to get your body moving. It's to start to get your mind to think
- 2:53in different directions rather than being always focused on just one thing all the time.
- 3:00We get up and move, get up and go outside if we're always introverted being inside.
- 3:05Or maybe if we're always outside, now try coming on to the inside and doing
- 3:10things that are indoor related.
- 3:12Try a new sport. Try doing something that you haven't done before.
- 3:16Try hiking. Or if you're hiking all the time, try bicycling.
- 3:19If you've been bicycling and hiking, maybe try running.
- 3:24Do stuff that's, you know, within your limits and, you know,
- 3:28within your realms of possibility.
- 3:30This way, your mind doesn't focus all the time just in one strict mode.
- 3:39Keep it changing. Keep your mind actively thinking and pursuing other possibilities within your life.
- 3:47This way, you can break out of things like anxiety, depression,
- 3:53and all this. Because when we're focused only on one thing, that's when we start to go down a tube.
- 3:59Now, again, there could be just total opposite of that.
- 4:03If you are doing the things you really like all the time, even if it is just
- 4:07one thing, that's good. But we don't want to keep our minds so narrow.
- 4:14We want to expand them. We want to try these things.
- 4:16We want to do things that are going to excite us to stir up a new,
- 4:22you know, physical reaction, uh, from deep down inside of us to say,
- 4:27oh, wow, I really never thought, you know, if I picked up a,
- 4:31paintbrush and paint tomorrow. Something I've never done, but I thought about
- 4:35it, and it might be something I'm going to do.
- 4:37But if I start putting that brush down and I start creating some,
- 4:40wow, great art, I would have never known unless I would have tried it.
- 4:47So that's why I'm putting that on my list of something to do.
- 4:51I know I can work on cars, so I've also expanded that in my life.
- 4:56I was very big into bicycling.
- 4:57I've expanded the mechanics into bicycles.
- 5:00I've tried the different forms of cycling. I've done mountain biking.
- 5:05I've done gravel biking. I've done a road biking. I've, I've went through those
- 5:10different disciplines.
- 5:12And then from there, I started riding motorcycles and the motorcycles,
- 5:17you know, same two wheel kind of pleasure, just more, you know, on the road.
- 5:21So it, while it might be somewhat related, I was able to keep changing things
- 5:27up for myself, to keep myself throughout my life changing the things I do.
- 5:32I went through so many hobbies, so, so many hobbies.
- 5:36But the difference is I figured out, hey, I didn't like this hobby,
- 5:41so I moved on to the next one.
- 5:43Hey, I really like this. But then the pleasure kind of dwindled off.
- 5:47When I started podcasting four years ago, I loved it. I'm still kind of in the
- 5:52field. I'm just calling it a show now, but that expanded.
- 5:55Now I've expanded that into a church.
- 5:59Do you not see the different possibilities that are right in front of you?
- 6:04Things that you can actually do, try.
- 6:07It's no different than when you're trying a new food, right?
- 6:09Or a new drink, whatever the case may be.
- 6:12The different tastes, the different textures, the different spices,
- 6:16things you never had before.
- 6:17And you say, Wow, I've been missing that, you know, for my life So why not just
- 6:23start cooking with it now?
- 6:26Or even better yet, I tried it and I don't like it.
- 6:30So now if somebody offers it to me, I can actually say, no, I don't like it
- 6:34because I actually did try it rather than, you know, I know a lot of people do that.
- 6:38They're offered an exotic food and, oh no, I'm not going to like that.
- 6:41But you never tried it. I always try everything.
- 6:45If it doesn't taste good, you could just spit it out. But this is where you
- 6:50start to expand yourself. When you start to expand yourself and you start to
- 6:54try these new things, you're also placing yourself amongst other people within those groups.
- 7:00And you start to expand your tribe or you just start to expand certain friendships
- 7:06or acquaintances or you just start to find new personalities,
- 7:10people that are willing to help you out.
- 7:12That's what Lizzie and I are trying to create with Eye Opener Society,
- 7:16is this very wonderful, open church where it doesn't matter what walk of life
- 7:22you come from, it doesn't even matter what religion you're coming from.
- 7:25We're going to work with you and everybody's going to work with each other.
- 7:30And this is how we open up our minds.
- 7:32I too, I'm not really a people person in my own private life,
- 7:37I'm really not, but I do expand myself because I do like to be outward,
- 7:42I do like to connect with people.
- 7:44It may be a smaller group, but I'm still connecting and I'm always trying to
- 7:48learn from other people and what their ideas are and what walks of life they come from.
- 7:54It's exciting to me, It's very rewarding to me to meet these people and talk
- 8:00with these people and help people.
- 8:02And that's what I'm doing with this church. So I can start to expand saying,
- 8:07these are the things that help me. I'm wondering if they can help you.
- 8:11What can you offer me to help me in areas that I might be lacking in?
- 8:18And there's a lot of them. Or maybe you're going to say, hey,
- 8:21did you ever try this? I'm going to be like, I never even heard of it. you,
- 8:26that's going to build up some excitement for me to where I'm going to actually
- 8:29want to do something and you're going to teach me.
- 8:33So you're going to be the ministers as well.
- 8:37This is a fantastic way to get yourself rising above,
- 8:43getting yourself off of your ass and going out there and starting to create
- 8:49wonderful new little side projects.
- 8:53And then after a while, you're going to start getting more active. this way.
- 8:57Being active helps with depression. Being active helps with anxiety.
- 9:02You know just how much you can take. Don't overdo it.
- 9:07Take things in small steps, small bites, small tastes.
- 9:12They'll eventually lead up to an entire resume of things you've done,
- 9:17things you've tried, things you've tasted, things you've drank.
- 9:21And you could say, wow, this is now all part of me.
- 9:26This is making me much more aware of other possibilities that are out there.
- 9:32It opens up your mind to other ideas. It opens up your mind to listen to other
- 9:37people's ideas that you wouldn't normally listen to.
- 9:42That is the purpose of what we are as human beings, rather than always being
- 9:50so introverted and so to ourselves and so strict on our ways.
- 9:56It's fine, should you want to be that way.
- 10:00It's actually good, but within your walls, maybe you want to change that scenery.
- 10:08Maybe you aren't just introverted.
- 10:10But if you start to put new things up on the wall, new decorations, new art...
- 10:16That will open up and expand your feelings.
- 10:21It'll start to excite things within you. But you got to be open-minded to it.
- 10:26It's not going to work if you say, oh, that's not going to work for me.
- 10:29Because again, that's that negativity.
- 10:31That's what we need to cut out of our lives completely. We need to be open to these ideas.
- 10:36We need to be open to even small little changes.
- 10:40Little steps that will lead to a grand stage that you're looking at over the entire world.
- 10:46Saying, this is so fantastic. I can see so much better.
- 10:51I can see so much more inspiration in my life.
- 10:54I can now inspire others.
- 10:57And that's the goal. That's what we would like to do. That's what we would like
- 11:01to open up those doors to.
- 11:04You can join us anytime. Reach out to us. Listen to our shows. Hopefully soon.
- 11:11I was going to start doing lives here on Podbean. But Podbean decides to change
- 11:16their entire business structure.
- 11:18And they're doing away with the lives. So I'm going to find other ways to do
- 11:22lives with Lizzie and I. It's going to take a little time. So we're still building the church.
- 11:26Again, we're going to need everybody's support on this to help us open it up.
- 11:33There's going to be some legal things that we need to get done.
- 11:36It's all in due time. But you know what?
- 11:39Again, I'm taking steps. I'm taking steps to do something I didn't think I would do.
- 11:43When I first had this idea, I didn't think I was going to do it.
- 11:46As a matter of fact, I put it on the back burner. That was my last episode,
- 11:49right? That I spoke about.
- 11:51And here I am moving forward. I just want to expand that to everybody else.
- 11:55I want everybody else to feel exactly what it is I'm feeling.
- 11:59I want people to feel excited, happy, healthy, And just learn to blossom on your own.
- 12:06You know, it's nice when people are out there supporting you,
- 12:10giving you ideas, giving you hope, giving you, you know, motivation.
- 12:14That's what we all need. It's great if you had your own, you know,
- 12:19entourage walking around with you the whole time.
- 12:22Giving you that support, giving
- 12:23you those ideas, doing the things for you that you don't like to do.
- 12:29That would be fantastic, but we can still do that. We can achieve these things exactly like that.
- 12:35The entourage is going to be everybody that joins us right here,
- 12:39right here on this platform, right here at High Opener Society.
- 12:42We can all help each other out, support each other, be each other's entourage,
- 12:48give each other support, give each other ideas.
- 12:52And that's what Lizzie and I promised to you. We're going to do that for you.
- 12:57So get Get yourself out there. Start exploring different things.
- 13:02Think about the one thing you said, oh, I would never do that. Try it.
- 13:08That's one way to start. As long as it's safe and it doesn't harm anyone, just go out and do it.
- 13:14Try it out. See if it's something you actually do like. If you do,
- 13:18fantastic. If you don't, you just check it off the list and you move on from there.
- 13:22My name is Gary Dean. This is Eye Opener Society.
