- 0:00SPEAKER_01: But why is it selfish?
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Is what I don't understand.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: My brain can't compute.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: And this goes back to if if Zach comes over, and you know, he's not there every day.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: So if he comes over, and I was planning on eating my little salmon pan dish from Wegmans.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: You might have had a busy day.
- 0:19SPEAKER_02: You were just thinking, well, as I'm scrolling through the phone, I'm throwing this in the oven, I'm doing this, and all of a sudden, oh, it's it's Zach.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: And I mean, yeah, I know he was gonna come over.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: I didn't know he was gonna stay over for dinner necessarily.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: And I got a bag of hot dogs from Memorial Day.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: You eat hot dogs, I eat salmon.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: And Allison says, sorry, Ellie, but that's selfish.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: I did not think this was gonna quite go that way.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: I would say if you lived together and expected you were meal planning, then I totally could see, like hypothetically, let's say it was a little different.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: Say you live together and there was only one salmon left, you know.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: I don't know, you took one to work, whatever.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: We could split it then fine for dinner, okay?
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: I mean you really can't split it because there's just not enough in the pan.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Or we can just do rock, paper, scissors.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: Because you know what's gonna happen if you split that salmon, you're both eating a second hot dog.
- 1:09SPEAKER_02: So it's true.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: So I mean, I know how they serve it.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: So I I this is where the exception of the rule comes in of the selfishness.
- 1:18SPEAKER_02: If you guys, if you had a discussion about dinner together, if you had uh a leader.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: What if we had a discussion?
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: What's wrong with eating a hot dog?
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: Well, okay, that that's where but that okay, now that's where it becomes selfish.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: But why is it?
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: Because let me say this other thing too is that I he always comes to my house.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: I never go to his house.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: So he I mean, I have a dog, so he comes to my house.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: So I'm I shouldn't be expected to give you salmon every single day.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: No, brother, you're getting hot dogs.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, I really tried to make you look good.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: I there there is no, it's not even looking good or bad.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: It's like there's nothing wrong with a hot dog.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: No, no, I I I realize, well, yeah, especially when your partner's sitting across from you eating a salmon.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: I mean, that really you know, I guess I gotta sustain myself.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: What about this one?
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: No, it's selfish.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: If Scott, oh, okay, this from Tiffany.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: If Scott and I didn't live together, I would always bring more than what we would eat.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Oh, you need to lower that bar.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: But also at the same time, I've had many of occasions where I've made something and she just hasn't eaten it or whatever.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: And you get to a point you're just like, okay, I'm gonna make what I'm have a taste for tonight.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: And I mean, sometimes we'll talk about it in advance.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: She'll say, Oh, I had a big lunch.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: I don't need you know, dinner.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's fine.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: Yes, exactly.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: I don't need that, which is fine.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: That that's totally fine.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: I I just feel in your situation, you are not, I just feel you're not selfish because of that.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: There was no real prior discussion setting it up.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: But even if we live together, there is this part of me that's like fend for yourself, or we're both adults.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: Well, there are those days, but then there are the days where you fend for each other.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Alyssa says, Yes, I have to go with selfish.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: Since you knew he was gonna come over, you could have told him that.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Well, and that's and that's what you're going to eat.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: So he could stop and grab himself one.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: Well, if you really if I really want to drive home the uh, you know, you're selfish, you should have known you would had a taste for salmon that night.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: You only had one and stopped and gotten another.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: You didn't do that, did you?
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: No.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: Selfish pig.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: And we two, one, jealousy to Scott and Ellie.
- 3:33SPEAKER_02: Scott and Ellie's big three.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: I do have to mention this too.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: This is funny.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: This is also from Tiffany because uh I had joked how we sort of evolve into our parents eventually.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: It just is gonna happen.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: I'm Gail 2.0.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: Right, exactly.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: And she goes, uh, I don't act like my mother at all.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: And I'm like thinking to myself, you're right, you didn't vote for Kamala.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: My lord.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: Okay, let's start off with what's going on in Minneapolis.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: Minneapolis police chief Brian O'Hara resigned instead of facing the discipline into the investigation that's going on with his conduct.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: So he's hired in 2022 to kind of lead the changes that were going on with the George Floyd killing that happened during the pandemic.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: But then he comes in and he deletes a contact card from his city-issued phone.
- 4:23SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: He alerts an employee about the investigations and the probes.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: He you know, it's a little this, a little that.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: So he's like, I'm just gonna piece out of this, okay?
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: President Trump has appointed former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to his artificial intelligence advisory committee.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: The announcement came the same day Bondi revealed she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: Bondi said she underwent surgery two weeks ago.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: Speaking of all this AI stuff, in Illinois, Illinois of all places, they passed this really strong AI safety law.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: And it, I mean, 110 to zero.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: So on the books, it says the bill requires large AI developers, think of like Meta, OpenAI, Anthropic, that they have to have uh they have to submit annual independent third-party audits, a requirement that goes beyond California and New York.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: By the way.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: What are they auditing for?
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: Um, just that they're being transparent.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: And this is another thing that I I was gonna bring up later, but I will bring it up now.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: That even like YouTube is implementing where they have to notify you that it's AI.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: Do you feel like we learned some mistakes from when the dot-com boom happened and the internet really landed on us in a because this really is like the next evolution of the internet.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: For those of you that don't remember uh or were too young to remember, when the internet came, there was a lot, it was a learning curve as it developed.
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: It really was.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: Yes, and I think we are there too.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: And I but I and it's weird because you have people who are leaning into AI so much, sure, and then other people who are fighting it as well.
- 6:05SPEAKER_02: I'll give you this one since here's a little bonus.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: You know how we've had a couple college uh commencement speeches where one in particular said AI is the future and got wicked booze.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: Well, listen to this speaker.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: Uh, this is a fashion designer, Jeremy Scott, got a huge cheer after ripping up his AI written commencement speech.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Today we stand on the threshold of a new beginning.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Each of you have traveled a unique path to get here.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Filled with challenges, triumphs, and moments of doubt.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: Sounds kind of cliched, right?
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Sounds like you've heard it before, right?
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: It's because it's AI.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: You don't really want you don't want to hear what AI has to tell you to feel or to think.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: See?
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: Got a huge response.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: And and we talked about this in a promotions meeting the other day, and it's interesting how the in the younger generation, Gen Zers, you have a huge group of Gen Zers who are trying to go analog and are really fighting the AI movement.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: Use it as the tool that it can be.
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: Spell check 2.0.
