- 0:01SPEAKER_00: If you felt lonely, isolated, disconnected, with an empty feeling inside and just yearning for more, knowing something is missing, then this podcast is for you.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: So here's your host, Joe Mittigan.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: Hello and welcome to We.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Have you ever started to believe that maybe your life has a greater purpose than you ever imagined?
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: And instead of that realization making you feel completely excited, it might make you feel a little nervous.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: I don't know about you, but that happens to me a lot.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: For much of my life, I really thought that purpose was something I had to go out into the world and find.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: I thought if I worked hard enough, accomplished enough, made enough money, received enough recognition, or somehow became successful enough, eventually I would discover what my life was supposed to mean.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: But something very different happened to me.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: The more I healed emotionally, the more I've grown spiritually.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: And the more I've grown spiritually, the more I begin to discover, quite honestly, who I really am.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: And the more I discover who I am, the more I find myself asking completely different questions.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: You know, like what is my life isn't only about accomplishing things?
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: What if my life is actually about what can I contribute?
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: And sometimes that's confusing, but sometimes it's kind of exciting.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: But you know what?
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: To be really truthful underneath it all, sometimes it can be kind of scary.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Because believing that our life has a greater purpose means we eventually have to decide whether we're willing to follow it or not.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: It's another thing to begin believing that maybe you're actually supposed to make a difference.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: I spent years talking about healing, healing our emotional wounds, healing our relationships, healing the fear that keeps us separate from one another, learning to trust our higher power, learning to love ourselves, learning to love each other.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: But I'm beginning to understand something I couldn't see when I first started this journey.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Maybe healing was never supposed to end with me.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Maybe everything I've experienced, you know, the pain, the mistakes, the addiction, the failures, the relationships, the successes, the losses, the spiritual awakening, and even the years when I had absolutely no idea where my life was going, was preparing me to understand something much bigger.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: Maybe our greatest pain can eventually become part of our greatest purpose.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Not because we needed to suffer, of course not.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: And not because everything painful that happened to us was supposed to happen.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: No, but because once we've healed, we get to decide what we're going to do with everything we've learned.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: And to me, that's where purpose begins to feel different to me.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Purpose isn't simply asking, what do I want from life?
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: It begins asking, What does life need from me?
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: Maybe the person who once felt completely alone becomes the person who helps someone else feel less alone.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: Maybe the person who spent years believing they weren't enough becomes the person who reminds someone else that they are.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Maybe the person who had to learn how to heal becomes someone who helps another human begin healing.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: And maybe that's how we begin changing the world.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: Not all at once, of course.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: Not through one person, no, but through millions of people healing themselves, then carrying that healing into their families, relationships, communities, and eventually into humanity.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: That's the idea of purpose feels so much bigger to me today.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: That's why it does.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: I'm beginning to believe that who we become affects more than our own lives.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: When I become more loving, someone experiences more love.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: When I become more compassionate, someone experiences more compassion.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: When I heal my fear, I stop passing as much of that fear to somebody else.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: When I live authentically, maybe, just maybe, I give someone else permission to do the same.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: And when enough of us begin doing that, something extraordinary becomes possible.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: We begin to heal humanity.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: Today I want to talk about that transition.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: The moment when personal growth begins becoming purpose, when healing begins becoming service, when the question changes from who am I becoming to what am I becoming for?
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: I don't have every answer.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: And I don't know exactly where this journey is going to lead me.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: And to be honest with you, sometimes that's still a little scary.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: And a lot of times I feel really lost.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: But maybe, just maybe, faith isn't knowing exactly where a higher power is taking us.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Maybe faith is becoming willing to follow, anyways.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Because I'm beginning to believe my life has a greater purpose than I imagined.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: I'm beginning to believe something even greater about yours, too.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Maybe none of us are here to simply create a better life for ourselves.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: Maybe we're here to become the kind of human beings whose lives make somebody else's life better, too.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: And perhaps that's how we make a difference.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: Perhaps that's how me becomes we.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: And perhaps that's how together we help heal humanity.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: My name is Joe Mittigah, and this is we.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: Welcome everybody.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the We podcast from around the globe.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: It's a wonderful night here in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: And as always, I'm really excited and humbled to have the opportunity to share with you my experience, strength, and hope.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: In the highs and in the lows, I've had a pretty challenging couple of days, not from a, not really from an emotional place, but more from a spiritual place.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: And I'm going to share a little bit more about that.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, when I say challenge, what I'm really meaning when I say challenge, it's change.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: And I don't know about you, but I just wish that from one month to the next, there wasn't this constant spiritual and emotional change.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you for decades, that's just always how it's been for me.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: It's like I'm on a constant treadmill of always growing and always seeking and always changing.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: And a lot of times, the more I grow, then there's an era of time where I uncover a dark, deep, oh my gosh, I can't breathe pain.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: And I haven't had that in a while.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: I mean, I've gone through pain, but I have to tell you, August the 5th, when my good friend Zeus, my 12-year-old German shepherd, told me it was his time and I had to make the decision to put him to sleep.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: That was hard.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: It was really hard.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: And I still have moments where I walk around my house in my silence and my stillness because Zeus isn't here.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: And I remember just this beautiful, beautiful German shepherd and the innocence in his eyes and the beauty in his heart.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: And he has a pain in the backside too, don't get me wrong.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: But and sometimes I really miss him.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: I do.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: But other times I feel this wonderful joy that I got to spend those 12 years with him.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: And I say all of that because today's podcast is really about the shifting from healing all the time to the shifting of service and what the heck that means.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: And how does purpose and service kind of correlate, if you will, and what the process is to get there?
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: And we are a spiritual being, and all of our personal and inner essence comes from the inside out.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: But it's we're human too.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: We are.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: And a lot of times in the human experience, we'll have different things that help motivate us and help keep us moving and keep us happy and keep us going.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: And then it's removed.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: And we're like, oh darn, you know, I didn't realize that that was motivating.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: And it's not a bad thing, but sometimes when it's gone, you're asked to walk into a deeper level of faith, a deeper level of communion, a grander sense of connect.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you with the We Podcast, basically for myself, it's so new.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: And literally, the We Podcast is 11 months old right now.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: But this whole podcasting concept is new.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: And it's one of those things to where each week I have to find in me the courage and the strength and the overflow to share through the microphone, you know, the man in the microphone.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: And a lot of times the celebration of my message, and kind of where I it comes back to me as a sense of overflow, is I see the ratings.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: And I when I see the rating, the rankings, and what rankings mean to me is people are listening and people are gaining from it, and people are feeling value from my message.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: And that's kind of the the more I feel that my voice can make a little difference in anybody's life, the grander it feels.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: And each time a new country opens, in this past couple of weeks, we've had several new countries open, India and Vietnam happened in a 48-hour period of time.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: I don't know how to explain it, except it's like I'm spiritually expanding, literally.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: And I don't take any credit for any of it.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: It's not the man, but the man's the one that's got to got to steer my day around to where I have the time and the effort and the overflow to share.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: Well, every once in a while, Apple goes through its different, its different protocols, and all rankings shift.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: And that literally just happened today.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: And you know, the Wii podcast goes from the top 50 to not even in the top 200.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: And is that a reflection of anything?
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: No.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: What is it a reflection of?
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: Well, it was disappointing.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: Do I did it mean that less people are listening?
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: No, of course not.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: I'm talking about Joe's humanity.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: I'm a human being sitting here, also.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: And when you see something you can't control like that, it's disappointing.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: And this isn't the first time.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: And I say it like that because it's my mirror back.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: Well, today, getting ready for this particular podcast, I had to go inside and say, you know what?
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: This isn't about me.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: This is about Joe following a grander me.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: And my grander me doesn't care about anything of an X, doesn't need anything from an external mirror back.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: And sometimes that's easy.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: Sometimes it's not.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: And the more I shift into that level of autonomy, the more I literally feel myself going through psychic death of grieving the old me, grieving the old human, the perspective of humanity that I used to live from.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: And I've been going through a lot of that lately.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: I have.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: I wondered why two months ago I was guided back into a silence I haven't been in a long time, a long time.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm two months and two days into that sacred silence, and now, of course, stillness also.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: And I heard some voices, I've journaled with them.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: I felt some grief.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: I've journaled with it.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: I've come up with some how to, you know, what about me buttons?
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: You know, when you're in that world for an extended period of time, it's you with you.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: And if you're emotionally sound, great.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: If there's emotional fragility, that's going to cause some pain.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you, I've been going through some of it.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: I have.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: From an emotional side.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: From a spiritual side, psychic death is a painful experience, but the reward on the other side is grand.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: So even when I'm in the pain of grieving, like a death that literally feels like a part of me is dying, because it is, it's the old skin, this the shedding of the skin, it hurts as hard.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: And you know, in my world, there's no one to share it with.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: So it's me with me.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: And I share here with you, my friends.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: And I want to, I always want to continue to validate because I know I'm not the only one going through this.
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: You know, if you're feeling a death of the old you, I get it.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: That's not easy.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: It isn't.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: And I don't care if you're going from completely unconscious to conscious, that's a huge psychic shift.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: From that to anywhere to where literally what's happening for me, and I can't explain the why.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: I don't know the why.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: I don't ask the why anymore.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: But I can tell you, each time Apple Podcast tells me there's a whole new group of people around humanity listening to this message and connecting to this message and feeling and finding value.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: From the listener's perspective, if there wasn't value, you wouldn't listen.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Well, you're listening, and I honor that.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: I'm humbled by it.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you, I'm continuing to have to personally expand.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: And the emotional side of that expansion is psychic death.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: And it's hard.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Hard meaning it's sad, hard meaning it's loss, hard meaning there's a lot of grief.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: And I just want to share that with you.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: I've said from the beginning of this podcast, I will be as open and as honest and as intimate as I can.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: And I've been going through some grief around the expansion of spiritual growth.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: The We podcast as a concept, like, why are we doing it is the ultimate goal, heal humanity.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: And what does heal humanity mean?
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: Heal humanity means if enough of us wake up to a conscious understanding that all of our answers are inside, then when we commune with the part giving us the answers, that's our divinity.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: And from that place, the divinity, all things are possible.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: All things.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: And what we're going to talk about today is how each of us can do it moment by moment, minute by minute, day by day.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: And why now?
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: And what's the difference?
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: And sometimes it's massive, the end result.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: Sometimes it's, you know, you feel like you're moving forward an inch.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: All positions of giving back and moving forward and living from the higher sense of yourself creates an energetic shift that is felt around the world.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: And here in the beginning, there's a bunch of us doing it, but it's only a small fraction of what humanity really has.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: And I believe that fraction grows into bigger percentages and bigger percentages, and eventually a global movement of the world waking up.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: And I honestly believe that.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: I know for the absolute spiritual truth, any person that can make it through one of my podcasts like this, and you're connecting with what I'm saying on a weekly basis, you have that same spiritual divinity in you who's receiving this information, mirroring back.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: I'm not telling you anything you don't already know yourself already.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: And it's in that knowing that you might be hearing here for the first time, which gives you a validation.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: You might be hearing it here for the first time, which gives you a mirror.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: And in that mirror is where two or more of us are gathered.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: It's you sitting wherever you're sitting in Vietnam, in India, in Malaysia, in Atlanta, Georgia, wherever you're sitting.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: And the we is you sitting, however, you listen to this podcast and me, my voice.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: So it's my voice and your higher power.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: We're creating a we.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: And it's in that we where two or more are gathered, where God is present.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: And it's in that communion that more and more of you are going out there and sharing whatever you're learning here, remembering here, and living in your life differently.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: And that's what we're going to talk about here today.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: That whole purpose, that whole living with meaning, life having beginning to truly believe our life has a bigger meaning.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: And how do we go from hope to faith to fact?
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: We have to talk about the actual action steps you're already doing and put it in context of higher purpose.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: And you'll see you're doing it a lot more than you already know.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: 99% of you.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: Here at the We Podcast, I like to, because there's so many new people, and welcome everybody.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: I've said it a thousand times, and I just welcome people from around the globe.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: Vietnam and India are two of the newer countries that are actively participating here.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: Welcome, folks.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: I am honored that you're here.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: Of course, Norway and Canada, United Kingdom.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: You know, the list is the list is getting bigger and bigger.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: And I don't want to always repeat myself, but I'm I am blessed and I am humbled that you're here.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: And I hope that you keep coming back.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: I hope that I my voice can keep you company in your challenging times.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: I hope my voice can help you gain the strength and courage you need during your challenging times, through your fear-based times, through your times of growth, through your times of challenge.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: Yes, because the spiritual path is just as challenging as the emotional path.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: The difference between the two is the emotional path is gonna, the deeper you go into the emotional sense of yourself, it has an end.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: You'll grieve eventually to where the grieving can be done.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: Your spiritual awakening never ends.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: It's an all-encompass, never-ending expansion process.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: And I say it a thousand times, unless you're walking on water, you got growth to do.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: Well, I ain't walking on water, and these past two months have certainly shown me the spiritual growth I've needed to go through.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: And tonight is one of those nights.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: I was sitting there today, and literally I can feel an ebb and flow.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: It's just not me sitting here with a microphone and speaking, because that, you know, if you sew into the room, I'm doing it.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: It's just me in a room with a microphone, but I can energetically feel back and I can get the visual with the Apple and the Spotify and all of that world by those rankings.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: It shows me literally, physically, while the world's listening back.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: Well, I know the world's listening back today, but today I'm having to do it in faith because the numbers aren't there.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: And it's a different type of experience.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: Good or bad?
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: No.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Is the other easier?
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Yes, it is.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Because it's funner.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: When everything is going great and everything seems to be wonderful and things are expanding, it's great.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: It's wonderful.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: And sometimes you have to literally share even when you feel like you're in the dark.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you, it doesn't matter the expression that I have, because my expression.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Is really that of a higher power.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: That's why people connect, and that's why you're connected here.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: But in communion, at the exact same time, the man has to go through the transition.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: And the inner self, my emotional sense of self, has to go through the shifting too.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: So literally everything I share about emotional growth and spiritual growth and awakening and all that, I live on a daily basis.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: And there are different times in my life where I go through, like I get to the I climb up to the top of the mountain, and then it's time to jump.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: Well, literally, I've been jumping these past couple of weeks.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: And in my world, it isn't like jumping off, it's like the mountains removed.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: So you just live from a different level of faith.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: And I'm going to be sharing that today.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: I'm going to be sharing some of the things, the actions that I'm personally taking that I'm being guided to take.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: And I want to share it back and forth.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: And I always try to put it in context to everybody out there because my story is mine.
- 23:07SPEAKER_01: My actions are mine, you know.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: But the context, the underlying motivations, the underlying concerns, the underlying angst, and the higher vibrational glory, it's the emotional side and the spiritual energy side that is identical.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: You all have your own actions, you all have your own lives, you all have your own challenges, you all have your own glories that you're going through that are look at you like in your world, you would put your names on your kids, you would put your names on your job, you're going to put your names on your books and the way you're giving back.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: But energetically, we're the same.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: The highs and the lows are the same.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: And that's why I always want to share to the best of my ability both sides.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you, this last Tuesday's episode, I was sharing, and I heard myself say something I'd never heard.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: And I've been growing into that idea ever since.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: And I was talking about my son, and he's got a young man on his team who's a stellar stud athlete.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: And this young man's father's approach to motivation is a fear-based approach.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: And since I'm not cussing, I don't really know how to describe it because I really want to cuss.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: I do, because it's so hurtful what he's doing to this kid.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: Now, does the dad know he's hurting?
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: No.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: So I can, I don't have judgment of the father, even though his action steps are make me angry.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: They do, because whenever another human being consciously or unconsciously is abusing a second party, I get mad.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: That's what anger's for.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: When boundaries are crossed, the natural human reaction to a boundary being crossed is anger.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: Well, when I see a young man, I can't call him boy, he's 20, 21 years old.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: So this is a young man.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: But I think about it, if the dad is treating him like he is now at 19, 20, what do you do when he's 14, 13, 10?
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: Same.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: And you know, I need to stop.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: I don't want to keep talking about that.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: But what did I hear myself say?
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: I said, I can't change the relationship between dad and son.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: I can't.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: So it's painful.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: It's painful to watch.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: But what I can do, what I can offer is I can walk up to this young man sometime, if I get to, if I ever get close enough to him, shake his hand, and tell him that I, Mr.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: Joe, is really proud of you, son.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: I'm really proud of you.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: I see how great you're doing.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: You are an amazing athlete.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: I am proud of you.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: You are a stud.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: And that I do that all the time, anyway.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: That's just my normal.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: But what I said in the last podcast is if I do that to this young boy, it gives him another voice in his head, besides only hearing his dad's voice.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: That basically what happened this past week, the third string kid hit a home run, and immediately the father texts the stud starter, say, that kid's a baller, you're finished.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: And it made me mad because it's just so unloving and so unkind, and it does nothing except destroy esteem.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: But what I realized in the last podcast, I said, if I tell the kid that the truth, if I share the truth, is it gonna out, is he gonna hear my voice over his dad's massive voice he's had his whole life?
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: No, probably not.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: Therapy does that, spiritual experiences do that, but a lot of therapy does that.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: But it might just give him another voice to hear, also.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: I never thought of it like that.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: Never did.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: I never thought about the more I love on somebody, tell them I'm proud, tell them they're great, share the truth.
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: Now, if they're not great, I'm not gonna lie to them.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: But if they're good, I'm gonna tell them that we're actually also, in addition to anything else that's going on in their world, we can add to their self-esteem voice.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: We can add to their self-worth voice.
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: Now, in the big picture, if we are putting numbers on it, dad's voice of low self-esteem and you're no good, son, might be the 99, but at least it's not a hundred.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: If I say something, at least it's not a hundred.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: Then I'm gonna encourage all of you, right now, today, start with anybody.
- 28:01SPEAKER_01: Start with your own kids.
- 28:03SPEAKER_01: Now, why are my kids such elite in everything they do?
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: First off, they're talented, they're smart, that you know, they're gifted, and by both me and their mother, we both have been given them favorable adjectives about themselves their entire lives.
- 28:23SPEAKER_01: My kids have never been shamed, blamed ever.
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: Now they're corrected when they do stupid stuff, of course.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: There's consequence, of course, but it's learning, it's never shame and blame, and you're this and you're that.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: It's always favorable.
- 28:36SPEAKER_01: So my kids now, as they're becoming young adults and they're out there in their own world, their glass full voices in their head have been developed their whole lives because I was in therapy my whole life.
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: So I was able to give to my kids what was not given to me, hence the generation of change.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: And we're going to talk about that in more depth later on in this podcast.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: We can give to our children what was not given to us.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: We can.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: And that's all part of this grander purpose.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: Literally, right now, you're listening to this podcast, and maybe you're listening to it at noontime or dinner time or whatever.
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: But within one hour of getting off this podcast, you can text somebody, I'm proud of you.
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: Right now, today.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: And if you've never done it, we're going to talk about why you won't do it, because I'm going to help you get through those voices too.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: But literally, those are the types of changes that when enough people do it, then we're literally developing the next generation, and they're starting at a completely different spot when they start in their adult world than we did.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: I told my kids 20 years ago, put five bucks a week away, son.
- 30:02SPEAKER_01: You're going to need plenty of therapy when you're older.
- 30:05SPEAKER_01: But they won't need the same type of therapy that I needed.
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: They won't, because they didn't have a dad that was never around.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: They didn't have a mom that never said they loved him.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: My parents did the best they could.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: And in their best they could, I was still emotionally neglected.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: And 99.9% of all of you listening here were also.
- 30:28SPEAKER_01: But that doesn't mean if you're here, that means you've gone through growth.
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: That means you've gone through some therapies.
- 30:34SPEAKER_01: That means you're guided into your own research, you're guiding into your own expression, your own expansion.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: And now everything you've been learning and everything you've been growing, it's time to live the growth.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: And so many people say, Well, I can't live the growth because I don't have enough time and I'm not going to make enough money.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: I'm saying live the growth by tomorrow morning, texting one of your children, text your sister, text that dad of yours you don't like, text the teacher that you cussed out 20 years ago, text somebody that I'm proud of you.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: That doesn't take any time, and it's not about making money.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: It's about you living the growth you've already accomplished.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: And for myself, honestly, I always really never put it into as simple a context as every time I tell somebody I'm proud of them, I'm adding a glassful voice in their head.
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: And you do that enough, you start making a difference.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: You really, really do.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: The other thing that I'm personally going through right now is that it's time for Joe to get out from behind just the microphone and to get out into public and start speaking as a public speaker.
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: And, you know, of course, with the global rankings and all of that stuff, right?
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: I'm starting to get press releases and all that stuff.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: Well, that's all great.
- 32:08SPEAKER_01: And get on the global stage, and that's all great and wonderful.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: And it starts by local community rehab centers and local community self-help groups and whatever.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: Well, literally, I've just been kind of waiting for the day.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: And it's amazing how the era of our past always kind of preps us for what we're doing now, somehow, somehow.
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: Well, the other day, you know, and especially with AI, I had AI come up with a list.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: Got about 150 different outreach centers.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: I don't know the term, but an outreach center, someplace that is helping people recover, helping people feel better, you know, volunteer.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: I want to volunteer my time and share my story, hour-long presentation.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: Well, however long they want.
- 33:01SPEAKER_01: But, you know, it's time what I would, if I was in the sales world, it's time to start dialing for dollars.
- 33:07SPEAKER_01: Well, the great news about that is I'm really good at that.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: I never liked doing it in the past, but my entire business called Avion Energy started because 15 years ago I had a phone book.
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: There wasn't AI and all that to look up names and numbers.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: It took you 22 hours to find the contact information for any one of the big companies I was calling way back when.
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: And now look up Avion Energy Inc.
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: You'll see we're one of the largest commercial energy broker companies on the on in the country.
- 33:49SPEAKER_01: We've been doing it 16 years, and I will tell you, because of that, I'm able to pursue a passion.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: I'm able to pursue an overflow, I'm able to write books, I'm able to do all that.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: And that's why I say all the time your passion and your purpose and your grander reason for living is not responsible for paying your bills.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: You are.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: And that's why when I do sales, you know, people are, I'm gonna start in the corporate world, start doing motivational speaking for sales teams.
- 34:21SPEAKER_01: And the truth of the matter is, if you're in a sales business right now and you've got a passion to whatever it is, to travel, to whatever your passion is, the way you do it is make more money.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: And how you make more money is be more successful in your day job.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: 98% of people will never leave their day job.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: Never.
- 34:41SPEAKER_01: You just won't.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: But that doesn't mean you can't have a very fulfilling, filled, glass full existence while you're in your day job.
- 34:51SPEAKER_01: But you'll start looking at your day job differently.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: You'll start looking at your day job as the financial resource to be able to then pursue a higher purpose.
- 35:05SPEAKER_01: For some of you, your day job will end up being the launch pad to pursue something grander on a more regular, more money-earning perspective.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: But for most, higher purpose and giving back isn't about financial reward.
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: It's about how you feel while you're doing it.
- 35:26SPEAKER_01: And that's we're gonna talk about that a little bit more here today, and we're gonna talk about literally going from believing to doing, to thinking I can, to actually understanding that you already are part of the generation of change, and that's a really powerful thing.
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: The thing that stops us, like, why do we not just go do it?
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: Well, for me, it was the wounds in my heart.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: Literally, I would say to myself, who in the heck do you think you are that anyone's gonna listen to you?
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: You have no job, you got one pair of pants, your shoes have holes in them, you don't work, and you grieve every day.
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, people are gonna believe you, Joe.
- 36:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that book, oh yeah, Joe, everyone's gonna read that.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: My voices were unmerciful.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: Well, the voices might have been correct 30 years ago.
- 36:29SPEAKER_01: Now, filling the void.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: Go to jomitiga.com, filling the void.
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: It's my book that was channeled through 30 years ago.
- 36:38SPEAKER_01: You can get it now for free.
- 36:40SPEAKER_01: Soon, I have other books up there.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: I am.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: Why we feel alone is the next book.
- 36:45SPEAKER_01: It's going to be out there soon.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: Well, I say all that because whatever it is you want to pursue, whatever it is, and let's just say you want to become more of a verbally loving person, and you're scared to do it.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: I get it, I do.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: That's why I like the texting concept.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: I enjoy the texting because you're still getting the message out there.
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: Is the text the same as verbal?
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: No, but it's a thousand times better than nothing, literally.
- 37:17SPEAKER_01: And when you realize you can give back even though parts of you don't feel like you deserve to give at all.
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: Let me rephrase that because it's not really that way.
- 37:32SPEAKER_01: You can give back even though there are parts of you that don't feel like you deserve to receive.
- 37:41SPEAKER_01: That's a wound.
- 37:43SPEAKER_01: The parts of you that don't feel like you deserve to receive, or you're not good enough, that's a hurt.
- 37:50SPEAKER_01: That's a wound.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: That's an old yesterday's internal suppressed emotion.
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: In addition to having that old hurt in you, you can also give back to another human being.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: Today, tonight, when you're going to the grocery store, hold the door for somebody.
- 38:15SPEAKER_01: When you're getting ready to check out, let somebody with more groceries step in front of you.
- 38:21SPEAKER_01: When you're at church and you know you get there because you want to be on the aisle and somebody gets there late, move your backside over to the middle, even though you don't want to sit in the middle.
- 38:32SPEAKER_01: Whatever the little things are, to where you're making somebody else's life feel a little better, that's all part of living in a higher purpose.
- 38:45SPEAKER_01: That's all part of living, literally living a grander you by making somebody else's day just a little bit better.
- 38:58SPEAKER_01: And every time that you take an action step that causes somebody else's life to be a little easier, to be a little gentler, to feel like they're important, then you are living from a higher you.
- 39:19SPEAKER_01: What's the reward?
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: You get to feel like you're living from a higher you.
- 39:25SPEAKER_01: You know, I wish people would count the number of times they make somebody else smile in any given day.
- 39:34SPEAKER_01: Because the more you do it, the more you're gonna see how living from a higher you, living from a place of purpose, many of you are already doing it.
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: Is it changing the entire globe because you held the door for somebody?
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: No, but think about if a hundred million people held the door for a hundred million people, and then the next day, everybody did it for somebody else, and then the next day, everybody did it for somebody else.
- 40:07SPEAKER_01: Can you see the ripple effect the more we're kind to people, and then people are kind to people, how it literally is part of healing humanity.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: It truly is.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: And the rhymes and the reasons why we don't do it, we don't hold the door for somebody else.
- 40:29SPEAKER_01: Now, I'm not telling I'm not talking about the unconscious person.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: There's plenty of people out there, they don't even see another human being, they don't see them.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: They walk in the door, they don't even look around, they don't see anybody around, they just don't.
- 40:43SPEAKER_01: That isn't anybody on this podcast, that's for sure.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: Everybody on this podcast, you know you can hear your thoughts, you know you can watch your behaviors, and over time, I want you to be consciously aware of your behaviors relative to overflow or hurt.
- 41:00SPEAKER_01: Here's the difference.
- 41:01SPEAKER_01: When you walk up to that door and you say, No, heck with them.
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: I got here first, I'm going first.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: That's a hurt, not divinity.
- 41:11SPEAKER_01: That's your pain, not your higher power.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: Is that a bad thing?
- 41:16SPEAKER_01: No, not all the time, but every time you act out your pain, you're not healing it.
- 41:23SPEAKER_01: In fact, you're pouring gasoline on it.
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: So, and I use that as a simple example.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: A more dramatic example would be husband-wife come home, husband does something wife doesn't like, wife loses it on husband, blames husband.
- 41:42SPEAKER_01: You know, arguments.
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: Well, the truth of the matter is the only reason there's arguments, there has to always be two sides.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: There's always two sides.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: And the only reason there's two sides, I'm not saying that people can't disagree.
- 41:56SPEAKER_01: People will disagree.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: You're human, you're gonna have different viewpoints, you're gonna have different perspectives, you're gonna do things different.
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: But when it escalates from differences to arguing, all arguing, fighting is because you're trying to get somebody else to see your view, your way.
- 42:13SPEAKER_01: You're trying to get them to do something they won't do.
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: All of that is hurt and wound.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: All of it is hurt and wound.
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: So the next time you're in that position and somebody's wronged you, instead of trying to make them wrong for it, back up.
- 42:30SPEAKER_01: See your side.
- 42:31SPEAKER_01: Now, I'm not saying let somebody abuse you.
- 42:33SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying let somebody walk on you, I'm not saying let somebody cross your boundaries.
- 42:37SPEAKER_01: I'm saying pay attention to you.
- 42:42SPEAKER_01: And if you feel yourself amping up to fight back, fighting back is the acting out of a hurt.
- 42:50SPEAKER_01: Fighting back is the acting out of a wound.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: Now, I'm not saying don't fight back and say, stop, stop hurting me, stop yelling at me, stop doing what you're doing.
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: Using your bigness to stop somebody else's behavior is a self-love, a protecting act.
- 43:10SPEAKER_01: But when you use your bigness to attack back, that's an acting out of your hurt.
- 43:17SPEAKER_01: And every time we act out our hurt, we're not healing it.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: We're basically just causing the other person just as much pain as they caused you, and your wound inside just festers.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: Well, how do we stop?
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: We identify, we look at it, we see, we we hear our bigness, we hear the emotional bigness, and instead of acting out, we get with ourselves.
- 43:39SPEAKER_01: We ask the part who's hurting?
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: What's going on?
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: How can I help?
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: And that's the opposite of two people walking up to the door and holding the door for somebody else.
- 43:52SPEAKER_01: And I try to give simple examples because literally, every time you're giving Somebody else, big or small, you're living from your grander purpose.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: You are.
- 44:07SPEAKER_01: What is our grander purpose?
- 44:09SPEAKER_01: Our grander purpose is to live from our divinity.
- 44:14SPEAKER_01: And divinity's action steps on a daily basis are to give to the world.
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: Now, when you're in a divine relationship with somebody else, you're going to give to them.
- 44:29SPEAKER_01: They're going to give to you.
- 44:32SPEAKER_01: You're going to give to them.
- 44:33SPEAKER_01: And they're going to have the safety and the trust to be open to receive.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: They're going to give to you.
- 44:40SPEAKER_01: You're going to have the safety and the trust to be open to receive.
- 44:43SPEAKER_01: And in that ebb and flow, there's a communion called love without condition.
- 44:49SPEAKER_01: How often does that exist?
- 44:51SPEAKER_01: I think a lot more than people recognize.
- 44:53SPEAKER_01: I really do.
- 44:54SPEAKER_01: I think it's happening more and more and more in partnerships, in volunteer organizations, in school systems, in church organizations.
- 45:05SPEAKER_01: I think it's happening more and more than ever before.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: And as we bring conscious awareness to it, now we're not going out there saying, hey, look at look at look at me, look at how conscious I am.
- 45:17SPEAKER_01: I'm holding the door for somebody.
- 45:19SPEAKER_01: I'm so conscious.
- 45:20SPEAKER_01: No, that isn't what I'm talking about.
- 45:23SPEAKER_01: What I'm talking about is when you bring personal awareness that each time you give back, you're living from a grander sense of yourself, you're living from your divinity, then over time your esteem, how you see yourself, is more divine.
- 45:40SPEAKER_01: I say it all the time.
- 45:42SPEAKER_01: Every time I'm on this podcast, I know for an absolute fact the man talking here, the voice you're hearing, the words, the systems, the there's, you know, the flow of my voice is a grander Joe.
- 45:55SPEAKER_01: It's not Joe the guy, it's not Joe the man.
- 45:58SPEAKER_01: It's Joe's divinity speaking through.
- 46:01SPEAKER_01: How can I say it so confidently?
- 46:04SPEAKER_01: Well, because I'm practiced.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: I'm practiced doing what I'm telling people to do.
- 46:08SPEAKER_01: And from that position, right?
- 46:11SPEAKER_01: The more we do it and the more we see it ourselves, the more our esteem grows.
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: The more we start describing ourselves as somebody who's living from a grander sense, somebody who's living as a higher vibrational being.
- 46:30SPEAKER_01: Now, there are plenty of people out there.
- 46:32SPEAKER_01: I love using the example of Mother Teresa.
- 46:35SPEAKER_01: Now, Mother Teresa, I don't know her details, but I know this is a fabulous woman.
- 46:41SPEAKER_01: She lived many years ago, she had no money, and her entire life she gave to the poor of the poor.
- 46:51SPEAKER_01: What was her reward?
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: Well, her reward was shoes that didn't work, clothes that were ragged, calluses on her hands, you know, tired all the time, physically, but her reward was she knew she was living a higher her.
- 47:13SPEAKER_01: She was consciously aware that the more she gave, the better it felt.
- 47:19SPEAKER_01: The better it felt, the more she could give.
- 47:22SPEAKER_01: Now, am I expecting any of us to be Mother Teresa?
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: No, I'm not.
- 47:28SPEAKER_01: Now, a lot of you probably are.
- 47:29SPEAKER_01: I'm certainly not, but I will definitely run up to a door and hold it.
- 47:34SPEAKER_01: I teach my boys to hold the door.
- 47:36SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 47:37SPEAKER_01: Because it's easy to do and it makes a difference.
- 47:40SPEAKER_01: And I want to start with the simple stuff.
- 47:44SPEAKER_01: I want to start with the little things.
- 47:45SPEAKER_01: And I'm saying this between you and me.
- 47:48SPEAKER_01: You're hearing my voice.
- 47:50SPEAKER_01: I'm talking to each one of you individually, because individually, as you start identifying how you're already living as a higher you, you're going to see over time how that sense grows.
- 48:06SPEAKER_01: Now, there are plenty of people out there that have been doing it a long time.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: And you know it and you feel it, and you sense it, and you know it's of God.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: And the whole idea of prolonged caregivers is a big thing.
- 48:26SPEAKER_01: I'm going to talk about that.
- 48:27SPEAKER_01: Prolonged caregivers is the one of the primary reasons that we are the generation of change.
- 48:33SPEAKER_01: The four major reasons why we are the generation of change and we can and are healing humanity is technology, wealth, generation lab, and prolonged caregivers.
- 48:46SPEAKER_01: Today I'm going to talk about at length what the prolonged caregiver looks like.
- 48:50SPEAKER_01: And there are tens of thousands, if not millions, of them already out there on the ground, living it.
- 48:58SPEAKER_01: And for there's a whole world of people, I call them the 12, the 20-year 12-steppers.
- 49:05SPEAKER_01: Anybody that's been in a 12-step environment for any length of time, the 12th step is the service step.
- 49:15SPEAKER_01: What are the 12 steps?
- 49:17SPEAKER_01: The 12 steps of any meeting from AA to CA to Food Anonymous to Sex Anonymous, whatever the anonymous is, right?
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: I was I should have been in all of them.
- 49:28SPEAKER_01: I was active in AA.
- 49:30SPEAKER_01: And the 12 steps are 12 action steps that a human being can take to get them closer to a power greater than themselves.
- 49:38SPEAKER_01: That's what it is.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: Each one of the steps.
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: And each step brings you a little more consciously aware of you.
- 49:47SPEAKER_01: And each step helps get the old you out of the way to where then the new you, which is connected to a higher you, can live the 12-step.
- 49:57SPEAKER_01: And guess what the principle of the 12th step is?
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: Service.
- 50:01SPEAKER_01: Every 12, every step of the 12-step program has a principle.
- 50:06SPEAKER_01: And the 12th step, the principle of this 12th step is service.
- 50:10SPEAKER_01: Well, service is the exact action step of your divinity.
- 50:15SPEAKER_01: When you go download my book, Filling the Void, I literally, the third section of that book is I go through the 12 steps.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: And the fourth section of the book, I take each one of the principles of the 12 steps.
- 50:32SPEAKER_01: I take each one of the principles and I put them into living action steps.
- 50:36SPEAKER_01: Get my book, filling the void.
- 50:38SPEAKER_01: Click, click, finally getting it there to where you can just download it.
- 50:42SPEAKER_01: You want to join our book club?
- 50:44SPEAKER_01: We're gonna have a book club.
- 50:45SPEAKER_01: You can work the whole book.
- 50:47SPEAKER_01: But joemitiga.com, you can literally download the book and you'll see the whole fourth section is on what I'm talking about here.
- 50:55SPEAKER_01: Is each of the 12 steps has a principle, and I put action steps associated with each one of those principles.
- 51:02SPEAKER_01: My whole philosophy was what the heck?
- 51:04SPEAKER_01: If some of the most wounded people on the planet, which are active alcoholics, can get to a place where they become grateful for life and living one with God, if it works for people that are in the most wounded spot you can literally be and still be alive, the active alcoholic who hits a bottom and can grow out of that spiritually.
- 51:25SPEAKER_01: I said to myself, what the heck can the other 98% of the world does do using the same concepts?
- 51:32SPEAKER_01: Because you know, the active alcoholic that makes it is a very small percentage of the population.
- 51:38SPEAKER_01: 98% of the people are never gonna be an alcoholic, and you don't have to to live these principles.
- 51:43SPEAKER_01: Read it in the book.
- 51:45SPEAKER_01: Anyone that's literally been in therapy for an extended period of time, if you've been there, it's working.
- 51:51SPEAKER_01: Well, now that it's working and you've healed, how are you living the healed part?
- 51:57SPEAKER_01: So very often we get always lost in.
- 51:59SPEAKER_01: Well, I got to grow more, I got a new pain, I got a new, trust me, I get it.
- 52:05SPEAKER_01: And while you're identifying and healing the old pain, you can also live from the parts you've already healed.
- 52:11SPEAKER_01: You can already do that now.
- 52:14SPEAKER_01: People, you know, I hear it all the time in the Christian world, where people will go into church and they get saved.
- 52:26SPEAKER_01: And that is such an amazing blessing.
- 52:31SPEAKER_01: Now, is that a world I lived in?
- 52:35SPEAKER_01: No, but I see it all the time.
- 52:38SPEAKER_01: There's an there's you know, 30% of humanity or more in the Christian world where they follow Jesus and people will go from not even knowing that concept exists to they have a spiritual experience.
- 52:54SPEAKER_01: They call it they're saved, and they know that if they just turn their life over to Jesus or to God, that thing's gonna be different.
- 53:02SPEAKER_01: What does it mean to turn your life over to Jesus?
- 53:06SPEAKER_01: What does it literally mean?
- 53:08SPEAKER_01: For me, the easiest way to do it, to think about it, is live how Jesus would have lived.
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: That's the easiest way to think about it.
- 53:18SPEAKER_01: Now, I know there's a lot of spiritual principle around it all, and I'm not trying, I'm not trying to be a Christian teacher here at all.
- 53:25SPEAKER_01: You know that.
- 53:26SPEAKER_01: But I literally, when I was so lost when I went from drinker to non-drinker, I used to say to myself, what would Jesus do?
- 53:35SPEAKER_01: Literally, that's what I would do.
- 53:38SPEAKER_01: And now I didn't know at the time that Jesus would hang out with the beggars and the prostitutes and the drinkers because he was preaching the gospel to those people.
- 53:45SPEAKER_01: I didn't know that.
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: Thank God I didn't know because I'd have gone right back.
- 53:49SPEAKER_01: See, I'm following Jesus, I'd have gone right back to the bars.
- 53:52SPEAKER_01: But I literally said to myself, when I was so lost, I would say, What would Jesus do?
- 53:58SPEAKER_01: What would the man called Jesus have done?
- 54:01SPEAKER_01: Well, I would say, Well, you probably wouldn't have gone in that cesspool called a bar.
- 54:06SPEAKER_01: He'd go the other direction.
- 54:07SPEAKER_01: And that's how I, that's literally how I did it.
- 54:10SPEAKER_01: So for those of you that are in the Christian world and your followers of Jesus, I love it.
- 54:17SPEAKER_01: So, how do you do it?
- 54:20SPEAKER_01: It's simple.
- 54:21SPEAKER_01: On a daily basis, look at your actions and put yourself in the same frame, whatever the circumstance you're in, and say to yourself, How would Jesus have handled this circumstance?
- 54:34SPEAKER_01: And I can pretty much guarantee you, if Jesus was in a circumstance and he happened, the the wife or the husband came home and did something, I doubt if Jesus is going to cuss them out.
- 54:48SPEAKER_01: I doubt if Jesus is going to call them all sorts of hateful, hurtful names.
- 54:52SPEAKER_01: I no, I'm making fun.
- 54:54SPEAKER_01: That's why I say it's wound.
- 54:56SPEAKER_01: So when you're literally living, trying to live it Tuesday morning, what do I do?
- 55:04SPEAKER_01: If you're in the Christian world, ask yourself the question: what would Jesus do?
- 55:08SPEAKER_01: What action step would Jesus do?
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: How would Jesus have spoken in this position?
- 55:12SPEAKER_01: What would Jesus have done?
- 55:14SPEAKER_01: Because what you're trying to do in following Jesus, the whole idea is you're you're wanting to mirror, mimic the behavior patterns of this spiritual deity.
- 55:27SPEAKER_01: You want to live like Jesus lived, follow his direction.
- 55:31SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 55:32SPEAKER_01: And like he says, follow me, you'll find eternity.
- 55:35SPEAKER_01: When Jesus said me, since he was only divinity, Jesus didn't have a human side.
- 55:40SPEAKER_01: He might have a physical being, but his consciousness was pure divinity only.
- 55:47SPEAKER_01: Only divinity.
- 55:48SPEAKER_01: How do I know?
- 55:49SPEAKER_01: Because he did walk on water.
- 55:51SPEAKER_01: Any of you walking on water, I'll call you divinity.
- 55:54SPEAKER_01: In the meantime, he's the only one I know of.
- 55:57SPEAKER_01: So when Jesus used the pronoun me, there was only divinity in him.
- 56:03SPEAKER_01: Now, the rest of us mere mortals, we have divinity, but we also have humanity, and we also have a bunch of wounds.
- 56:10SPEAKER_01: We just do.
- 56:11SPEAKER_01: That's why we're the we.
- 56:13SPEAKER_01: He was the only me, literally.
- 56:16SPEAKER_01: So follow the me, he says.
- 56:19SPEAKER_01: Follow the divinity, he says.
- 56:22SPEAKER_01: What's the action of divinity?
- 56:24SPEAKER_01: The action of divinity is giving.
- 56:27SPEAKER_01: It can be as simple as holding a door, or it can be massive.
- 56:31SPEAKER_01: Can be.
- 56:32SPEAKER_01: Those of you in the 12-step program, the what the 12-step says is service, you give back.
- 56:38SPEAKER_01: There were three or four different men.
- 56:40SPEAKER_01: I sponsored several, but there are three or four different men that I was able to, because of my emotional and spiritual growth, these particular men, they had addictions outside of alcoholism, that every time they'd act out their other addictions, they'd get drunk.
- 57:00SPEAKER_01: One man was a gay black guy who was a heroin addict.
- 57:05SPEAKER_01: Back when heroin was the all it was was needles and the liquid, that type of heroin.
- 57:11SPEAKER_01: And he had a massive sex addiction.
- 57:13SPEAKER_01: His name was Jimmy.
- 57:15SPEAKER_01: And I was able to listen to Jimmy.
- 57:17SPEAKER_01: I was able to help Jimmy.
- 57:18SPEAKER_01: Jimmy and I were able to get to a little bit of his emotion because if we couldn't get Jimmy to grieve some of the hurt, he was going to do the other stuff.
- 57:28SPEAKER_01: And if he did the other stuff, he was going to drink, and he knew it.
- 57:31SPEAKER_01: I helped another man who was married and he could not stop acting out with prostitutes.
- 57:37SPEAKER_01: Couldn't do it.
- 57:39SPEAKER_01: Well, he knew that if he didn't stop that and he hated himself for it, hated himself for it.
- 57:47SPEAKER_01: Well, what was all that self-hate?
- 57:48SPEAKER_01: It's hurt, it's a hurt little kid.
- 57:50SPEAKER_01: And he acted out his hate with a prostitute, literally.
- 57:55SPEAKER_01: So why do I say these stories?
- 57:58SPEAKER_01: Because years ago, I was able to share, give back in a way that was monumental for these men.
- 58:06SPEAKER_01: Hopefully they're still sober now.
- 58:09SPEAKER_01: You know, Jimmy, actually, both these guys' names were Jimmy.
- 58:12SPEAKER_01: They would have both had, oh, I don't know, I was probably 10 years sober when I knew them.
- 58:17SPEAKER_01: So if they're still sober now, they have 20 plus years.
- 58:20SPEAKER_01: Well, we make a difference in people's lives.
- 58:24SPEAKER_01: And in those two men's life, I was in and amongst their worlds for a couple of years.
- 58:29SPEAKER_01: Then life goes on.
- 58:31SPEAKER_01: And if you're a 20-year 12-stepper, or if you're, I keep saying that, if you're a 12-stepper and you're giving back as a sponsor, you are literally living as your divinity by being a sponsor in the program.
- 58:45SPEAKER_01: You are.
- 58:46SPEAKER_01: Every time you sit and listen to a friend in an Al Anon meeting share their challenge, and you just are there listening, you're living from your divinity.
- 58:56SPEAKER_01: And I'm going to continue to repeat because the more you bring consciousness to all the different behaviors you're already doing, you're already living from that grander sense of yourself.
- 59:08SPEAKER_01: Now, are we doing it 24-7?
- 59:11SPEAKER_01: No, of course not.
- 59:12SPEAKER_01: No.
- 59:13SPEAKER_01: But hopefully you're doing a little bit.
- 59:17SPEAKER_01: And if if after a podcast like this, you can look at your daily life and over the next week or two start identifying every time you give back that you're already living part of a higher purpose, then that just helps.
- 59:31SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 59:32SPEAKER_01: Now, when I was in South Africa a couple of years ago, I did a TEDx down there a year and a half ago.
- 59:40SPEAKER_01: And I wish I could say it was a big long trip and I traveled.
- 59:45SPEAKER_01: No, I put it on a credit card.
- 59:47SPEAKER_01: It was a gulp moment.
- 59:48SPEAKER_01: It was a stretch beyond stretch.
- 59:51SPEAKER_01: I had a nice time, but I hadn't been on stage speaking in 30 years.
- 59:56SPEAKER_01: And it was more of a spiritual and emotional awakening, quite honestly, and kind of an emotional challenging time than I can hardly wait to go back.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_01: I'd love to go back with friends with extra money and go vacation there and really get into the world there because it's such a beautiful place.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_01: Well, anyways, I learned that 400 million people in the continent of Africa have no running water.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_01: And I didn't know.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_01: So as I'm flying back, I'm putting together the pieces in my own brain of the difference, why the world is so different now.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_01: And I get back and I say, I'm going to do something.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_01: I can't unsee things, right?
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_01: I can't, I'm not the guy that says, Oh, that's a big problem.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_01: Too bad, somebody else's issue.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_01: When I see it, I have to do something.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_01: And you know, there's a lot of people say, Well, what can you do, Joe?
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_01: I love the story where there's a boy and a man walking on a beach, and the beach is covered with starfish.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_01: And the the older gentleman grabs a starfish and throws it into the ocean.
- 1:01:11SPEAKER_01: And then he walks a little bit farther and throws it in the ocean.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_01: And he walks it a little bit farther and he throws another one in the ocean.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_01: And the young boy says, Well, Father, why are you doing that?
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_01: You can't save all the starfish.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_01: He said, Well, I just saved those three.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_01: And that's the message I want each of us to hear.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_01: Individually, we're not individually healing the world.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_01: Individually, you're helping healing your world, the exposure of your world.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_01: And that's where the internet has created an opportunity to where the globe is such a smaller place because technology.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_01: And technology is one of the reasons why we are a generation of change.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_01: The global economy, there's more money that moves through the globe today in one hour than there used to be full existence 100-150 years ago.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_01: More money in an hour than used to exist 100 years ago.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_01: To heal all the water problem in Africa with wells.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_01: I did the math one time.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_01: I think it's like five billion dollars.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_01: It's a fraction of a penny.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_01: It's a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percentile when you really think about how much money there is in the globe.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_01: The generation lap concept is the third thing I talk about, where generation lap means our children are coming in smarter, wiser, more connected than we will ever be.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_01: They're starting young, super connected.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_01: Hard telling what they'll be when they're older and really producing out in the world.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_01: And people have asked, well, Joe, are they the generation of change?
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_01: I said, no, they're next generation, the generation of change that's making the biggest difference now is there's a whole, there's millions of people out there that have made more money in shorter periods of time because of the economy, because of technology, because of AI, because of everything.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_01: There's just more people with more money searching for their next thing.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_01: And for the masses, their next thing is more in the giving of their treasure than the giving of their time.
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_01: And that leads to the concept, the most important condition of the generation of change is the concept of the prolonged caregiver.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_01: And the prolonged caregiver, in my definition, is the person who 10, 15, 20, 30 years ago had some type of spiritual experience guiding them to an area of the globe that has emotional challenge, that has physical needs, and have been guided there years ago.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_01: And now years later, they're still there doing it.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_01: Prolonged caregivers.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_01: I didn't even know the concept existed.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_01: And I kind of made that, I'm sure someone else talks about it, but I make that word up because the only thing these prolonged caregivers are needing is money.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_01: Because the more money they have, then they can actually give it to the people that they're giving, caring for.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_01: A good friend of mine, Tom, 30 years ago, 25 years ago, was guided to the Dominican Republic.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_01: The Dominican Republic is an island, and for years it's had a water issue.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_01: Well, as the oceans rise, the caverns underneath the island used to be freshwater, now they're saltwater.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_01: So literally, you drill a hole in the Dominican Republic anywhere on the island, you reach salt water.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_01: So he's been there for years building these desalination plants.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_01: He's got seven or eight of them.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_01: Literally, in his world, 20, 30 million dollars, 30 million dollars, he could put enough of these buildings so the entire country of Dominican Republic would have fresh water, affordable fresh water, 30 million bucks.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_01: Well, he's working on it.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_01: Now he's been here in the States, but he's been working on this for 25 years.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_01: If I could think of his nonprofit, I would mention it.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_01: So I, in a very short period of time, came across seven or eight people just like Tom.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_01: And the two men that I personally work with are caregivers in Uganda.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_01: And it unconditional love.
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_01: I used to think I knew what it was.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_01: I really did.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_01: I used to think that I'm a pretty loving guy, but 98% of my love, I don't suffer with.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_01: I don't do without because of.
- 1:05:59SPEAKER_01: I don't.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_01: I give my overflow, I do, but I've never given somewhere else and not paid my rent.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_01: I haven't.
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_01: It's just I haven't done it.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_01: So is my love conditional?
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_01: I guess from that standpoint, it is.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_01: But and I'm not blaming myself, no shame to that, but there's different levels.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_01: There really is.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you there is a world, and whether you know this or not, look them up, you can find them.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_01: There is an entire world of people that have surrendered their own lives for the well-being of the underserved.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_01: I'm I support two of them.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_01: The first man, I call him Brother B.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_01: These men have these beautiful African names.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_01: I call him Brother B.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_01: And he's the gentleman that I met on LinkedIn when I got back from South Africa, and he asked me for$50.
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, what the heck?
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_01: Why not?
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_01: And I know a lot of people have the voices that stop, well, you can't.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_01: It's a scam, it's a this, it's the that.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_01: And if you have all those voices, write them down for Christ's sake.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_01: It's$50.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_01: That's what I said to myself.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_01: It's$50.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_01: So I didn't even hesitate.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_01: The hesitation was I had to figure out how do I get$50 from Atlanta, Georgia to some small village in Uganda.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_01: There's a software called WorldMet.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_01: I didn't even know it existed.
- 1:07:31SPEAKER_01: That's what took me the longest.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_01: And then I had to figure that out.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_01: And because of money laundering, they do a little bit of package, a little bit of checking, just make that sure I'm a real person.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_01: Well, sure enough, send him to 50 bucks because a little girl, her name Patricia, a little girl named Patricia needed, she had a broken arm and needed help.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_01: I was like, sure, I'll give you the money.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_01: And lo and behold, within so click, click, I figured out, get him the money.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_01: Lo and behold, within two hours, he sends a video back with these kids, 20 of them.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_01: I still have the video, thanking Mr.
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_01: Joe with a picture, you know, with me in a picture, thanking Mr.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_01: Joe for the money.
- 1:08:23SPEAKER_01: And I thought, that's pretty amazing, or$50.
- 1:08:27SPEAKER_01: He got it, and they used it.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_01: And I asked him later, I said, so what would have happened if Patricia wouldn't have got the money?
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_01: He said, Well, unfortunately, now I communicate through WhatsApp, Global Technology Free.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_01: In the beginning, I communicated a little bit with LinkedIn, but now it's just WhatsApp.
- 1:08:45SPEAKER_01: I talked to him every day almost.
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_01: Not anymore, but I used to.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_01: He said they'd had to cut it off.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_01: A broken arm, eventually on a little girl.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_01: She's a skinny little thing, anyways.
- 1:08:55SPEAKER_01: And it gets swollen.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_01: And so the swelling and the infection doesn't kill her.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_01: They tourniquet it at the shoulder, they cut it off above the elbow for$50.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_01: Well, I gave him the$50.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_01: He showed me the x-rays, you know.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_01: The biggest challenge that most people have is they're afraid to give the money because they think they're going to get ripped off.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_01: Are you?
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you could.
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_01: Are there ways to figure out how not to be?
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_01: Yes, there are.
- 1:09:24SPEAKER_01: There are a lot of ways today in today's world.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_01: There's certificates these people have.
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_01: There are tens of thousands.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_01: And in fact, in my opinion, there's not a there's 99% of all people in need.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_01: There's somebody that knows of them, and there's somebody within an arm's length that can help them.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_01: And this particular group, which I've talked about before, because of my live stream, connected them with a millionaire out of Dubai.
- 1:09:53SPEAKER_01: He literally built them a water system for 3,000 people.
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_01: They used to have to walk 45 minutes every day and a school system.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_01: And because of that school now, they're able to house the street kids.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_01: Now, how the heck we're going to feed those street kids, I don't know.
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_01: But at least the building, the street kids can go in the same building because of one little live stream I did.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_01: But that isn't really the one I want to talk about.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_01: My other guy.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_01: And what happens in Uganda, in these small villages, when parents die, there's no infrastructure for the kids.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_01: The kids are they're just left.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_01: And if there's not a family member to take in, again, everybody's poor.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_01: So a family member trying to feed another vo another mouth is almost impossible.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_01: So they're just put on the streets.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_01: And that they're just no parents die, kids are just left.
- 1:10:48SPEAKER_01: Nobody does anything.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_01: There's nothing to do.
- 1:10:51SPEAKER_01: Well, they have these house mom that are women, typically, that are open their homes.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_01: Well, the second group, he's got 43 children that are probably six and under, maybe seven, little ones.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_01: And we talk, he asked, I support.
- 1:11:14SPEAKER_01: And when I say I support, it's not$200 a month.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_01: It's somewhere in that range.
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_01: I don't have more to get, I would if I could, literally, because I connected with these people, and the same millionaire guy got them beds and got them three high beds.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_01: These children had never seen a bed.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_01: Never.
- 1:11:38SPEAKER_01: While they were there, they didn't think to have Farhan and his group by nets.
- 1:11:44SPEAKER_01: One or two of those kids a year in that orphanage in a year would be would die because they get stung by mosquitoes.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_01: Think about that.
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_01: In a country like where I live here, you know, United States, you don't think about a mosquito bite killing you, malaria killing you.
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_01: Well, over there, if you don't do something.
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_01: So I said, how much are nets?
- 1:12:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, they're a lot.
- 1:12:12SPEAKER_01: I said, how much?
- 1:12:14SPEAKER_01: Six dollars.
- 1:12:15SPEAKER_01: Wait, six bucks.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_01: How many beds?
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_01: Because we had three high beds.
- 1:12:22SPEAKER_01: There were three high beds, either like 15 or 20 beds.
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_01: I think 15.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_01: Three high 15.
- 1:12:31SPEAKER_01: So six times 15.
- 1:12:33SPEAKER_01: $90.
- 1:12:35SPEAKER_01: For$90, we haven't had a kid die of mosquito bite, which is pretty amazing.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_01: And what's that do to my heart?
- 1:12:47SPEAKER_01: It makes my heart explode, quite honestly.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_01: Now, what really made my heart explode is I'd interacted with both of these men.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_01: Not once did they ever did I ever even think about, I thought they lived there.
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:13:02SPEAKER_01: Both of these men I'm talking about, they're in their 30s.
- 1:13:05SPEAKER_01: They both have wives and they both have children of their own.
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_01: But they spend almost every waking minute that they can, the one man, brother B, for 22 more teenage year kids, and the other guy, 42 kids.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_01: Can't even think of his name right now.
- 1:13:26SPEAKER_01: I just went blank.
- 1:13:27SPEAKER_01: But and they have wives and kids of their own.
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_01: And so one day, this this other man, we'll just call him brother O, he gets on this hundred 100cc little motorcycle to travel.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_01: He's in a little village where the orphanage is to travel two and a half hours into the desert, their area, to visit this little community, because there's a guy there, a man there, whose mom has cared for him from little, who can't see and can barely walk.
- 1:14:07SPEAKER_01: How they feed him, I don't know.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_01: But my guy, brother O, every time I get him food, he travels an hour and a half or two hours on a 100cc mini-bike through the desert to go visit this little community.
- 1:14:27SPEAKER_01: And one day he sends me videos all the time.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_01: And I looked and I stopped the video and I saw on his wrist that this man, this caregiver, had a had like a silver band on his wrist.
- 1:14:45SPEAKER_01: And that's when I realized he's there by choice.
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_01: He doesn't live there.
- 1:14:52SPEAKER_01: I never had asked.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_01: I'd interacted with these people for six months.
- 1:14:55SPEAKER_01: I never asked.
- 1:14:57SPEAKER_01: The next day or two, I said, brother, oh, do you have a family?
- 1:15:03SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, Mr.
- 1:15:04SPEAKER_01: Joe.
- 1:15:05SPEAKER_01: I've got two kids and a wife.
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_01: I said, Do you live there?
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_01: Or do you just support there?
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_01: I know I said, can you leave like these kids?
- 1:15:19SPEAKER_01: He says, Oh no, Mr.
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_01: Joe, I could never leave the kids who would take care of them.
- 1:15:23SPEAKER_01: I said, No, wait, wait, I'm not saying, I said, if you wanted to, could you leave?
- 1:15:31SPEAKER_01: He says, Yes, but Mr.
- 1:15:32SPEAKER_01: Joe, I'd never leave the kids.
- 1:15:35SPEAKER_01: And I lost it.
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_01: I'm like, here's a 30-some odd-year-old man with his own wife, his own two kids.
- 1:15:46SPEAKER_01: He cares for 44 little ones.
- 1:15:49SPEAKER_01: He drives an entire day to a man who can't see to give him whatever the heck pittons of food.
- 1:15:57SPEAKER_01: And he does it out of the grace of his heart.
- 1:16:01SPEAKER_01: Like the overflow of his heart.
- 1:16:04SPEAKER_01: And I'm telling you, look me up, find these pictures, go on my social media, you'll see them.
- 1:16:10SPEAKER_01: He's got this one little boy, and you can just tell the little boy's got all sorts of challenges, right?
- 1:16:17SPEAKER_01: And my guy, brother O, he's got the biggest smile on his face.
- 1:16:23SPEAKER_01: I said in a caption, that's God right there.
- 1:16:30SPEAKER_01: The little pittons I do, 100 bucks, 200 bucks, it's great.
- 1:16:34SPEAKER_01: It's what Joe can do.
- 1:16:36SPEAKER_01: But that, those men, that's what the prolonged caregiver world looks like.
- 1:16:44SPEAKER_01: They are divinely guided and divinely empowered and divinely supported emotionally and spiritually in the most difficult, dark, they don't know what they're gonna do to make it day after day.
- 1:17:03SPEAKER_01: And these men voluntarily stay.
- 1:17:07SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna leave with a little thing that he sent me, this man, brother O, because I've committed to pay their rent for 40 kids each month.
- 1:17:17SPEAKER_01: And he says, Hello, Mr.
- 1:17:19SPEAKER_01: Joe and Project Smile.
- 1:17:21SPEAKER_01: We have good new news with tears of joy from Wings of Faith.
- 1:17:26SPEAKER_01: His organization is called Wings of Faith, with tears of joy by the grace of God, and because you stood with us, we have managed to pay our rent for our orphans' home.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_01: Last night the children slept peacefully, knowing we are safe, no landlord pressures, no fear of being chased out.
- 1:17:48SPEAKER_01: This morning they woke up singing in this home you helped us keep.
- 1:17:54SPEAKER_01: Mr.
- 1:17:55SPEAKER_01: Joe, rent is very, very heavy for us, but your love gave us strength to push until we made it.
- 1:18:04SPEAKER_01: You are the reason.
- 1:18:10SPEAKER_01: You are the reason these orphans still have a roof over their heads.
- 1:18:15SPEAKER_01: We are humbly saying thank you from the deepest of our heart.
- 1:18:21SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 1:18:22SPEAKER_01: We pray for you this morning as a family and your family.
- 1:18:27SPEAKER_01: And the children said, God bless you, Father.
- 1:18:30SPEAKER_01: You keep our home safe.
- 1:18:32SPEAKER_01: We love you so much.
- 1:18:36SPEAKER_01: 40 kids.
- 1:18:37SPEAKER_01: You know how much the rent is?
- 1:18:40SPEAKER_01: It's$70.
- 1:18:44SPEAKER_01: I spend more than$70 when I take my kids to Appleby's.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_01: 44 kids.
- 1:18:51SPEAKER_01: And I get this a message like that for$70.
- 1:18:57SPEAKER_01: Why are we the generation of change?
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_01: Because I have the$70 to give them.
- 1:19:02SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_01: Why are we the generation of change?
- 1:19:06SPEAKER_01: Because technology through WhatsApp and through LinkedIn helped me meet them.
- 1:19:11SPEAKER_01: In fact, that particular man, a guy from Australia, introduced me to him.
- 1:19:17SPEAKER_01: Technology allowed that to happen.
- 1:19:20SPEAKER_01: Why are we the generation of change?
- 1:19:22SPEAKER_01: Because there are prolonged caregivers.
- 1:19:26SPEAKER_01: This man, he was actually one of those street kids 25 years ago.
- 1:19:31SPEAKER_01: He grew up on the streets until someone took him in.
- 1:19:34SPEAKER_01: Somebody sponsored him.
- 1:19:36SPEAKER_01: And because of that, he now is taking care of 44 kids, in addition to his own wife and his own two children.
- 1:19:46SPEAKER_01: Why are we the generation of change?
- 1:19:49SPEAKER_01: Because more and more of us are giving back in a way that we never even knew we could.
- 1:19:57SPEAKER_01: Every time you hold the door for another human being, you're living from a more of a divine part of yourself.
- 1:20:04SPEAKER_01: And I hope stories like this inspire you to go out.
- 1:20:09SPEAKER_01: Well, how did I find them?
- 1:20:11SPEAKER_01: Freaking LinkedIn.
- 1:20:13SPEAKER_01: Everybody on this knows what LinkedIn is.
- 1:20:15SPEAKER_01: Go find somebody, help them out.
- 1:20:17SPEAKER_01: And there's a lot of you in countries right now.
- 1:20:21SPEAKER_01: You know, there's a lot of people.
- 1:20:23SPEAKER_01: This is a global podcast.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of you.
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_01: If you're listening to a podcast, you're probably in the financial world in your country where you're a little bit better off than most.
- 1:20:36SPEAKER_01: And for most of us, we're a tremendous amount better off than most, right?
- 1:20:42SPEAKER_01: So if you live in a country where it might be your neighbor who is the orphan, when you're buying kids' clothes for your kids, buy one more pair of shoes for your neighbor.
- 1:20:57SPEAKER_01: Wherever you are, when you're making dinner, make a little bit more for the person next door.
- 1:21:03SPEAKER_01: Every time we give back a little bit more, we're living from that higher sense of self.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_01: And in my opinion, the more we live from that higher sense of self, and the more we become consciously aware that we're living from the higher sense of self, and you start taking your message and your style and your communication skills out, and you help people identify in them that they're already living from a higher sense of self all the time.
- 1:21:32SPEAKER_01: No, of course not.
- 1:21:33SPEAKER_01: We're all human.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_01: Are any of us walking on water?
- 1:21:36SPEAKER_01: Not yet.
- 1:21:37SPEAKER_01: I say it all the time.
- 1:21:38SPEAKER_01: When you are, come on, I'll have you on the show.
- 1:21:40SPEAKER_01: But in the meantime, we're all a work in progress.
- 1:21:43SPEAKER_01: We're all living the we.
- 1:21:46SPEAKER_01: And but from the sense of we, we can be hurting and give back at the same time.
- 1:21:52SPEAKER_01: You can be in discovery of the deepest, darkest, most painful parts of yourself, and eventually give back at the same time.
- 1:22:02SPEAKER_01: It's in the giving back, sometimes little, sometimes big.
- 1:22:07SPEAKER_01: Sometimes you're like Mr.
- 1:22:08SPEAKER_01: Faron and can create an entire community, making a difference.
- 1:22:13SPEAKER_01: Sometimes you, it's just a loaf of bread that you give to your neighbor.
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_01: It doesn't matter the it, it matters the following.
- 1:22:22SPEAKER_01: The more we follow, the grander it becomes.
- 1:22:25SPEAKER_01: And the grander it becomes around the world, humanity becomes more connected around the world.
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_01: In my opinion, the veil of humanity between us becomes thinner and thinner and thinner.
- 1:22:40SPEAKER_01: How does humanity move from a me to a we?
- 1:22:45SPEAKER_01: Like the we podcast says, we're a community and connection.
- 1:22:51SPEAKER_01: That's what the we is.
- 1:22:53SPEAKER_01: You and me and everybody on this podcast, collectively, we create the we.
- 1:23:01SPEAKER_01: And as we are growing, we're changing.
- 1:23:05SPEAKER_01: And as we're changing, we're shifting, we're filling.
- 1:23:09SPEAKER_01: And the more we give from that place of fullness, the more we become consciously aware that we're doing it and living our divinity, the more we're consciously aware that divinity is guiding us sometimes throughout our life.
- 1:23:23SPEAKER_01: The more we think about it and understand it, the more we'll do it.
- 1:23:26SPEAKER_01: And then you realize that you're doing it more and more.
- 1:23:29SPEAKER_01: And then you start sharing it and helping other people do the same thing.
- 1:23:33SPEAKER_01: And that's how collectively we heal humanity.
- 1:23:36SPEAKER_01: And together, folks, we're doing it.
- 1:23:38SPEAKER_01: Together, the We podcast is making a real difference.
- 1:23:41SPEAKER_01: And together, we're literally helping the world heal.
- 1:23:46SPEAKER_01: We are healing humanity one smile at a time.
- 1:23:52SPEAKER_01: And from around the world, I want to welcome all of you to We.
