- 1:20Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Let's see what all I did. You want to do
- 1:23Speaker 3: some buckyball real quick? Sure.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Went up, you know, I was up in Dallas, saw
- 1:31Speaker 1: a little of it on Sunday.
- 1:33Speaker 3: It was just awful because there were 94 fouls.
- 1:39Speaker 8: So the officials are in midseason form.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Which takes me back to the SEC football officials again.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And the one thing that I've noticed, you know, when
- 1:52Speaker 1: you sit and watch, you have the opportunity to sit
- 1:55Speaker 1: and watch college football from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I've done it a couple of times this year. There
- 2:00Speaker 1: are some glaring things that happen. Number one, which I
- 2:04Speaker 1: talk about all the time. You turn the ball over
- 2:07Speaker 1: and you lose the turnover battle, it is really rare
- 2:11Speaker 1: that you're going to win.
- 2:12Speaker 3: A football game.
- 2:14Speaker 1: You keep making those mistakes, and there is such a
- 2:19Speaker 1: thin line.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Man, 99% of the time, you're going to lose, right?
- 2:24Speaker 3: You've got to take care of the ball.
- 2:27Speaker 8: Indiana won a national championship because they took care of
- 2:29Speaker 8: the ball.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Yes, they did.
- 2:31Speaker 8: They might be on the outside. Looking in this year?
- 2:34Speaker 9: Yes.
- 2:34Speaker 8: Because they played Ohio State and they finally turned it over.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Twice.
- 2:38Speaker 1: First two fumbles since the first game last season.
- 2:43Speaker 3: That is an unbelievable stat when you think about it.
- 2:46Speaker 3: You go, how do they do that? I go, well,
- 2:48Speaker 3: you know what? Coaching.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Right?
- 2:53Speaker 3: I look at, we're getting off track, but we're going
- 2:56Speaker 3: to do basketball.
- 2:57Speaker 8: Yes.
- 2:57Speaker 1: That's the first thing is mistakes. The officiating has to
- 3:01Speaker 1: be better.
- 3:01Speaker 3: It's still... And, again, there are other leagues that make mistakes,
- 3:07Speaker 3: and you're going to have it. It doesn't matter.
- 3:09Speaker 1: When there are that many games, you're going to see
- 3:11Speaker 1: officiating mistakes. But, man, they seem to happen a lot
- 3:14Speaker 1: in this league still.
- 3:18Speaker 8: I don't watch enough Big Ten to know if they're
- 3:20Speaker 8: as poor there.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I haven't seen it, if they are, but I don't watch,
- 3:26Speaker 1: like I said, the most I watch is SEC, and
- 3:29Speaker 1: probably if I was watching that much Big 12 football,
- 3:32Speaker 1: And that bunch of Big Ten football, I'd probably see
- 3:35Speaker 1: some of that.
- 3:35Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 1: But my gosh, just some really bad, glaring mistakes. And again,
- 3:42Speaker 1: if those mistakes are made in games that are close,
- 3:46Speaker 1: which most of them are, you're talking about.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Job killers in some situations.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 3:55Speaker 3: They just have to be better.
- 3:57Speaker 8: Well, there's things that are job killers. All dealing with losses.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:05Speaker 8: If Dave Aranda's quarterback throws the football against Auburn a
- 4:10Speaker 8: little bit better on a two-point conversion.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Yeah, he was there. He was open.
- 4:13Speaker 8: He was there. He was open.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Yep.
- 4:16Speaker 8: Okay. I don't want to say this is a job
- 4:18Speaker 8: killer for A & M because I'm not okay. But
- 4:22Speaker 8: Marcel Reed against Kentucky on a play that's there to
- 4:26Speaker 8: be made.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Fourth down.
- 4:26Speaker 8: We talked about fourth down in the first hour.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Yep.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Could have been the difference in the game.
- 4:30Speaker 8: Could have been the difference in the game. You're playing
- 4:32Speaker 8: with that fine margin.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Yep.
- 4:34Speaker 8: Then you mix in, and I'm not saying A &
- 4:38Speaker 8: M lost because of the interception.
- 4:40Speaker 7: Okay.
- 4:41Speaker 8: I think that replay is doing a decent job in
- 4:47Speaker 8: college football.
- 4:47Speaker 1: It seems to have gotten quicker. And I tell you
- 4:50Speaker 1: what I think happened. Because most of them are going
- 4:53Speaker 1: to see the ACC started it.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Yes.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Right.
- 4:57Speaker 8: No, the XFL started it.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:59Speaker 8: But what I'm saying is they took them into the room.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Yeah. And so you've been able to go into the
- 5:05Speaker 1: room and see the process.
- 5:07Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Those guys know it, I promise you.
- 5:10Speaker 7: Yes.
- 5:11Speaker 3: And so they've been quicker on the challenges, right?
- 5:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I think they're sharper.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Because I think home plate umpires in Major League Baseball
- 5:21Speaker 1: are sharper now that the ABS system is in place.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I think they're missing fewer pitches because of ABS.
- 5:28Speaker 3: I think these guys.
- 5:29Speaker 1: When they brought that camera in, which they need to
- 5:33Speaker 1: do with the CFP, they need to put cameras in
- 5:38Speaker 1: that meeting.
- 5:39Speaker 3: It will change things.
- 5:40Speaker 4: But.
- 5:42Speaker 8: A second still got put on the clock for Michigan.
- 5:45Speaker 4: True.
- 5:46Speaker 8: A second still got taken off the clock for Notre Dame.
- 5:50Speaker 8: So you sit there in the margin being that thin
- 5:54Speaker 8: and that close to what happens in these games.
- 5:58Speaker 11: Yes.
- 5:59Speaker 8: So tell me about 94,000 at the Moody Coliseum.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Okay, so I'll deny this if somebody says they heard
- 6:08Speaker 1: me say it. In defense of this officiating crew, and
- 6:15Speaker 1: I only saw the first half, okay?
- 6:19Speaker 3: I left. I had to get home.
- 6:24Speaker 1: There could have been 150 free throws. I mean, it
- 6:28Speaker 1: was like you shook up 10 grade school kids and
- 6:34Speaker 1: threw them on the court and said, go get the basketball.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I mean, it was just.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Pandemonium. It was pandemonium. It was mind-boggling. I'm just going,
- 6:49Speaker 1: what am I watching? Neither team could shoot in the
- 6:52Speaker 1: first half. I mean, there were 30 missed shots in
- 6:55Speaker 1: the first 14 minutes combined.
- 6:58Speaker 3: It was just... Pandemonium. And I'm going, what is going
- 7:02Speaker 3: on here?
- 7:03Speaker 8: I saw Moses Malone miss 30 shots in 20 minutes.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Yeah, but he got 29 rebounds and put them back in.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I'm going, what is happening here? It finally settled down.
- 7:18Speaker 1: They played some basketball in the second half.
- 7:23Speaker 3: It was just frustrating.
- 7:24Speaker 1: That's freaking crazy. And I noticed Bucky's comments on the
- 7:28Speaker 1: postgame show. He goes, I don't know what that was.
- 7:31Speaker 1: We had done that, you know, in any practice. We
- 7:33Speaker 1: didn't do it the exhibition game we played. It's just like,
- 7:38Speaker 1: this is nuts. It is nuts.
- 7:42Speaker 8: But this had some fans. It wasn't like that secret
- 7:45Speaker 8: scrimmage where you can.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Hear the coach.
- 7:47Speaker 1: The lights were on. The fans were in the stands.
- 7:49Speaker 1: There's no doubt about it.
- 7:51Speaker 3: It was the first time. It was different.
- 7:53Speaker 1: And you have 14 different players. And he's trying to
- 7:56Speaker 1: figure out who's going to play, right? When the lights
- 7:59Speaker 1: come on, who's going to play?
- 8:02Speaker 8: Should college football do something like this?
- 8:04Speaker 3: I think they should. You know, Jordan Pope started.
- 8:08Speaker 1: We had talked about his eligibility because he sat the
- 8:11Speaker 1: exhibition game, but the court came down.
- 8:14Speaker 3: He started.
- 8:15Speaker 1: He's going to be a huge asset. Rylan Griffin did
- 8:19Speaker 1: not start. He didn't play a ton of minutes. I
- 8:22Speaker 1: think he's still a little dinged up because he really
- 8:24Speaker 1: didn't do.
- 8:25Speaker 8: A whole lot. What's he doing today?
- 8:28Speaker 3: Today? Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Oh, is there a court saying today?
- 8:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Okay.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right. And so, yeah, it was different. Cade Phillips,
- 8:43Speaker 1: I will say that the Tennessee transfer, not the greatest hands,
- 8:49Speaker 1: but tough around the basket, which you already knew. You know,
- 8:53Speaker 1: I think they're going to like him around the boards,
- 8:56Speaker 1: you know, getting especially maybe some offensive boards as well.
- 9:03Speaker 3: And, you know, Haggerty's a scorer. You know, he's going
- 9:08Speaker 3: to score.
- 9:08Speaker 8: So he's going to have days when he doesn't score.
- 9:11Speaker 4: No.
- 9:12Speaker 8: Or halves when he doesn't score.
- 9:13Speaker 3: He may have halves. Yeah, which he did Sunday.
- 9:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 3: But he's going to score the ball. He's going to
- 9:19Speaker 3: find a way to score the ball.
- 9:21Speaker 1: And he's going to be a guy that when either A,
- 9:26Speaker 1: the shot clock, or more importantly, at the end of
- 9:29Speaker 1: the game, when you want the ball in a guy's
- 9:32Speaker 1: hands that can create and get a shot, and get
- 9:36Speaker 1: to the basket and either make it and or get fouled,
- 9:41Speaker 1: they have that guy.
- 9:42Speaker 8: Well, let me ask you something. Maybe you saw some
- 9:45Speaker 8: free throws. What did you think of the Aggies' ability
- 9:47Speaker 8: to shoot free throws?
- 9:48Speaker 1: Well, again, the first three quarters of the first half,
- 9:54Speaker 1: they were freaking awful.
- 9:55Speaker 3: But they ended up 32 for 40 at 80%.
- 9:57Speaker 4: SMU.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Shot 79%, right?
- 10:02Speaker 8: Would you believe that when you saw the post?
- 10:03Speaker 4: No.
- 10:05Speaker 10: No.
- 10:05Speaker 3: I went, you've got to be kidding me. They must
- 10:08Speaker 3: not have missed a free throw after I left.
- 10:10Speaker 12: Uh-oh.
- 10:11Speaker 3: But SMU, I believe, hit like 11 more free throws.
- 10:15Speaker 8: I think Bucky's going to point up at you and say,
- 10:17Speaker 8: give me the.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Yeah, that's okay.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Hey....
- 10:20Speaker 3: Where we sit now, Bucky can't see me.
- 10:23Speaker 8: That's true.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Okay?
- 10:24Speaker 1: So there's no way Bucky will know I'm there or
- 10:26Speaker 1: not there where they've stuck us up there at the rafters. But,
- 10:31Speaker 1: you know, I think it's going to be a fun team.
- 10:35Speaker 1: It's going to take a little while, I believe, you know,
- 10:38Speaker 1: for them to play together.
- 10:40Speaker 3: We thought that last year. We did. We did.
- 10:44Speaker 1: But they are more athletic. And I think they're going
- 10:53Speaker 1: to be a fun watch. But, man, this league is
- 10:57Speaker 1: just crazy. But you can't tell anything from these kind
- 11:01Speaker 1: of games, honestly, even though you get a little sense.
- 11:06Speaker 3: But I noticed, I listened to Rick Barnes today.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Tennessee played an exhibition game against Duke.
- 11:14Speaker 3: I mean, a practice game against Duke.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Right.
- 11:18Speaker 3: They got beat by 40. At Tennessee, it was 103-64
- 11:24Speaker 3: last week.
- 11:25Speaker 8: He allowed 103 points?
- 11:27Speaker 1: He allowed 103 points. Duke scored 103 points against a
- 11:32Speaker 1: Rick Barnes team.
- 11:33Speaker 8: That would drive the old man crazy.
- 11:35Speaker 3: He wasn't real happy about it. He seemed fairly calm.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I guess it was from the SEC media days when
- 11:42Speaker 1: he said, this is probably the best shooting basketball team
- 11:45Speaker 1: I've ever had. And I'm going, well, that's good because
- 11:47Speaker 1: he hadn't had great shooting basketball teams.
- 11:49Speaker 3: They defend, right?
- 11:50Speaker 4: Right.
- 11:51Speaker 1: And so, yeah, they put 103 on Tennessee. Now, Duke
- 11:56Speaker 1: is Duke.
- 11:56Speaker 3: We know.
- 11:57Speaker 1: But Tennessee is a top 10 preseason team, right?
- 12:01Speaker 3: Whether they are or not, I don't know. Haven't seen them.
- 12:04Speaker 3: So that was interesting. My point being, you don't know
- 12:07Speaker 3: what these exhibition games are. Don't put a lot of
- 12:10Speaker 3: stock in them.
- 12:11Speaker 8: How was Mbaka?
- 12:13Speaker 3: Ibaka was pretty good.
- 12:16Speaker 1: You know, it was good to see him that it's
- 12:20Speaker 1: obvious that he's healthy, right, finally?
- 12:26Speaker 7: Yes.
- 12:27Speaker 1: The way he moves, right? He's unafraid to shoot the three,
- 12:33Speaker 1: and that's fine. That's part of his game. But with
- 12:36Speaker 1: his length and wingspan, I would like to see him
- 12:42Speaker 1: inside a little bit more. I'm not going to say
- 12:46Speaker 1: what his game is, what it's not. I haven't seen him, honestly,
- 12:49Speaker 1: enough in this year and a half to say, hey,
- 12:52Speaker 1: this is who he is.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I know he shoots the three, right? I know he
- 12:54Speaker 3: can shoot the three.
- 12:57Speaker 1: And that'll put some pressure on the defense when you
- 13:00Speaker 1: get a 6'10 guy with a wingspan of seven feet
- 13:03Speaker 1: out shoot three point shots. But he's 6'10 with a
- 13:06Speaker 1: wingspan of seven feet. I'd like to see him around
- 13:08Speaker 1: the boards.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Yeah. Right?
- 13:10Speaker 8: Who's Cameron Lomax for SMU?
- 13:12Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 13:13Speaker 3: He scored a lot of points.
- 13:14Speaker 8: He scored 13 of 14 on free throws.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 8: He had 22 points, 13 from the line.
- 13:19Speaker 1: SMU's not a bad team, by the way. And we
- 13:22Speaker 1: know that Andy Enfield's not a bad coach. And I
- 13:25Speaker 1: like the fact that they ended up, you know, playing
- 13:28Speaker 1: that game.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Right.
- 13:32Speaker 3: So, SMU will... And I don't have their schedule here
- 13:36Speaker 3: in front of me, by the way. SMU will.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Will end up being.
- 13:44Speaker 1: One of the better teams they play before conference play starts,
- 13:48Speaker 1: I believe.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Right.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Again, it's a little hard to get a full, you know,
- 13:54Speaker 1: piece of it. But they're, you know, they're pretty good.
- 13:58Speaker 1: They have some height. They have some guards.
- 14:03Speaker 8: I mean, Oklahoma State at TCU, the battle for Atlantis
- 14:07Speaker 8: with Xavier and Marquette.
- 14:09Speaker 3: By the way.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Xavier beat Tennessee in an exhibition game, too. I think
- 14:13Speaker 1: Xavier's going to be pretty good.
- 14:14Speaker 8: Stanford.
- 14:15Speaker 3: We know Marquette's pretty good.
- 14:17Speaker 8: Florida State. There's some names on this preseason schedule.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Yes.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Unfortunately, they're not here, but there are some names.
- 14:26Speaker 8: On this schedule.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Who is?
- 14:27Speaker 8: Oh, Stanford?
- 14:28Speaker 4: Yeah. Okay.
- 14:30Speaker 8: I mean, Oklahoma State's here.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Really?
- 14:35Speaker 8: Thursday night, November 12th.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Oh, that's coming up soon.
- 14:39Speaker 1: That's good.
- 14:40Speaker 8: That is good.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Okay, that's good.
- 14:41Speaker 8: I saw somebody last week talk about that being one
- 14:43Speaker 8: of the better early season non-conference games you would have.
- 14:47Speaker 3: I don't know what Oklahoma State is going to be.
- 14:48Speaker 8: Like a before Thanksgiving run of games.
- 14:51Speaker 3: So I say this every year.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Used to be Thanksgiving weekend and Thanksgiving day, starting Thanksgiving
- 14:59Speaker 1: and all through the weekend.
- 15:01Speaker 3: It was college football heaven.
- 15:04Speaker 1: With the change in things and how the schedule is,
- 15:07Speaker 1: it's not necessarily like that anymore.
- 15:09Speaker 3: There's a couple of games that you'll want to see.
- 15:12Speaker 1: But that's always starting that Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. If
- 15:17Speaker 1: you want to see the best college basketball teams and
- 15:19Speaker 1: just be able to watch about five or six games
- 15:22Speaker 1: and get a feel for who, you know, everybody says
- 15:27Speaker 1: are the top 12 to 15 teams, that's the weekend
- 15:30Speaker 1: to watch. I mean... I watch a lot of college
- 15:32Speaker 1: basketball that week because you get a chance to go
- 15:36Speaker 1: from coast to coast and see teams, right?
- 15:39Speaker 8: What else do you do that week?
- 15:41Speaker 3: Hunt.
- 15:42Speaker 8: Okay.
- 15:43Speaker 3: I go hunting.
- 15:43Speaker 8: Okay.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I'll probably go to Kyle Field on a Friday night
- 15:49Speaker 1: that week.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Okay. Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 3: That's not for certain, but I probably will.
- 15:53Speaker 8: What bumper music do you play around Thanksgiving?
- 15:56Speaker 1: Well, generally around Thanksgiving, there's one Thanksgiving song that's the
- 16:00Speaker 1: ultimate Thanksgiving song.
- 16:02Speaker 8: Look at the reminder I'm giving you before Halloween.
- 16:05Speaker 3: You're going to have to remind me again. I'm reminding you.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Now, if I don't go write it right on my
- 16:10Speaker 1: calendar right now, you're going to have to remind me
- 16:13Speaker 1: of this.
- 16:13Speaker 8: You go to restaurants all the time.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Because you're not here next week. No, I'm not. You're
- 16:16Speaker 3: out next week.
- 16:17Speaker 8: I'm out next week. And I got Wally pipped.
- 16:20Speaker 3: You might get Wally Pipp.
- 16:21Speaker 8: Without a doubt.
- 16:22Speaker 3: I already know.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Coach Rogers is going to be here with us to
- 16:26Speaker 1: replace you. They've got a big consolidated reunion coming up.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:30Speaker 1: And I always look forward to visiting with it. It's
- 16:32Speaker 1: been a while. So Ross Rogers is going to be
- 16:34Speaker 1: with us next Wednesday.
- 16:35Speaker 8: I just want you to ask him how many games
- 16:38Speaker 8: the Alice Coyotes would have won if his dad had
- 16:40Speaker 8: not left for Killeen. Powerhouse.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Powerhouse.
- 16:45Speaker 8: And what did he think about, what did Gene Rogers
- 16:49Speaker 8: think about Spike Dykes being the one to replace him
- 16:51Speaker 8: for the Coyotes?
- 16:52Speaker 3: There you go. I miss Spike.
- 16:56Speaker 8: Because I'll be able to listen to the replay.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Speaking of Spike.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Sonny going to join Aranda on the sideline?
- 17:04Speaker 8: You mean as not coaching?
- 17:05Speaker 3: As not coaching?
- 17:06Speaker 4: Yes.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he might.
- 17:07Speaker 8: Don't go to Ireland and lose.
- 17:10Speaker 4: What?
- 17:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the bad start for the season.
- 17:13Speaker 8: Do not do that.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Happened last year.
- 17:14Speaker 8: Happened last year.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Do not.
- 17:16Speaker 8: If your athletic director says, guess what?
- 17:18Speaker 3: Yeah, we're not going to Ireland.
- 17:19Speaker 8: We got a sweetheart deal to go to Ireland. They
- 17:23Speaker 8: pay to bring 10,000 of your most loyal fans over
- 17:26Speaker 8: with us.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:27Speaker 8: And they get to be around you and see how
- 17:30Speaker 8: you do. And then you get to ride the plane
- 17:32Speaker 8: back with them. Do you want to go?
- 17:34Speaker 4: No.
- 17:35Speaker 3: No, you don't want that game.
- 17:38Speaker 1: And by the way, it's going to be raining and
- 17:41Speaker 1: slippery on the turf.
- 17:45Speaker 8: Chip, I don't think that Dave Aranda has done a
- 17:49Speaker 8: bad job.
- 17:50Speaker 1: I don't either. And by the way, it's just, and
- 17:57Speaker 1: that's how, again, I'll use the word fragile. Three weeks ago,
- 18:03Speaker 1: you're going, hey, Aranda was a little shaky coming in,
- 18:06Speaker 1: but he's turned things around. They're 4-1, looking good. All
- 18:10Speaker 1: they have to do is beat TCU in Kansas. They're
- 18:13Speaker 1: going to be 6-1. They'll be bowl eligible.
- 18:16Speaker 3: And we'll see how the rest of the season plays out.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Can't lose to TCU, the most hated team that Baylor
- 18:24Speaker 1: fans have now.
- 18:27Speaker 3: And you can't lose to Kansas. And, you know, I
- 18:31Speaker 3: hate that for him.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Kevin Sherrington, by the way, and I linked it on
- 18:37Speaker 1: one of my interweb pages, wrote a terrific article on
- 18:42Speaker 1: the situation on Dave Aranda as a person.
- 18:48Speaker 3: And what's next for Baylor.
- 18:50Speaker 8: And Dave Aranda will be coaching as soon as he
- 18:52Speaker 8: wants to coach again.
- 18:53Speaker 1: You know, I think the puzzling thing for me these
- 18:56Speaker 1: last couple of years is that Dave Aranda had a well-earned,
- 19:02Speaker 1: deserved reputation.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Of being a great defensive football coach, right?
- 19:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:08Speaker 1: And it hadn't happened the last couple years, and I
- 19:12Speaker 1: think part of that's you've got to have players.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Gary Patterson.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Had a worldwide reputation as a defensive football coach, and
- 19:22Speaker 1: when he was hired by Lincoln Riley at USC, I said,
- 19:25Speaker 1: that's a match made in heaven because Lincoln Riley can
- 19:29Speaker 1: coach offense, right? And now he's got a defensive coordinator
- 19:33Speaker 1: to go with it. They're going to be dangerous. And
- 19:37Speaker 1: I'm thinking one of two things. You know, I get this.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I don't get the criticism, frankly, that, oh, he's out
- 19:47Speaker 1: of touch. You know, it's a new game.
- 19:49Speaker 3: I'm going nuts.
- 19:50Speaker 1: If a guy knows how to coach defense, I don't
- 19:53Speaker 1: care what kind of offense he's getting prepared for, right?
- 19:57Speaker 1: He always did it in the past. It's not like
- 19:59Speaker 1: he only prepared for one offense.
- 20:01Speaker 4: No. So.
- 20:03Speaker 3: There's a culture and the head coach, right?
- 20:07Speaker 1: You and I, I think, would agree that Lincoln Riley
- 20:09Speaker 1: is like the coach at Oklahoma now.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Great on one side of the ball, but not a
- 20:15Speaker 3: head coach.
- 20:16Speaker 8: Well, if you've got an athlete that's a two-way guy,
- 20:21Speaker 8: they're going to go to the side.
- 20:22Speaker 3: That the coach leans to.
- 20:24Speaker 8: That the coach leans to.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Yes.
- 20:26Speaker 8: Mike Leach was going to put that guy at wide
- 20:29Speaker 8: receiver and not have him play corner.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Correct.
- 20:31Speaker 8: It's just how it is.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Yes.
- 20:32Speaker 11: R.C.
- 20:32Speaker 8: Slocum, Kevin Smith would have been all pro wide receiver.
- 20:36Speaker 8: Guess what?
- 20:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:37Speaker 8: You're going to go be all pro defensive back.
- 20:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 8: That's just how it is.
- 20:41Speaker 4: Yes.
- 20:43Speaker 8: But that's why I don't understand how the culture fails
- 20:46Speaker 8: for Aranda when he's the one making the decisions on
- 20:50Speaker 8: should I recruit this guy or not.
- 20:51Speaker 3: I'm not disagreeing with that.
- 20:53Speaker 8: And why can't they play defense? But would you want
- 20:57Speaker 8: to see if you're in this league and you are
- 21:02Speaker 8: at one of the schools that seems to have a
- 21:05Speaker 8: hot guy offensively in the SEC?
- 21:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 21:10Speaker 8: And somebody said, well, hey, you got to go get
- 21:11Speaker 8: a new defensive coordinator.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Your first call is Dave Aranda.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, because he's done it. Yes. He's done it.
- 21:23Speaker 3: I don't know who Baylor's going to get.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I've seen Jeff Traylor's name, you know, from UTSA, who's
- 21:28Speaker 1: been trying to get a job. But, again, I'm just
- 21:35Speaker 1: reading what, you know, what was written. He said this week,
- 21:40Speaker 1: my wife and I love it here. We are in
- 21:45Speaker 1: it for the long haul. We like where we are.
- 21:48Speaker 1: That doesn't mean he's not moving to Waco if given
- 21:50Speaker 1: the opportunity.
- 21:52Speaker 8: Or wherever.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Or wherever.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Because it was known that he was looking to move up, right?
- 21:57Speaker 8: There's some Big Ten schools that they're still going to say,
- 22:01Speaker 8: why is Indiana winning and we're not?
- 22:03Speaker 3: Oh, there's no doubt about that.
- 22:04Speaker 8: There's some ACC schools that are saying– And the biggest
- 22:09Speaker 8: football game on your pick-em this week, Chip, the one
- 22:11Speaker 8: I had the most trouble with, Clemson, Florida State.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 22:17Speaker 8: You don't think there's people at those places that are
- 22:20Speaker 8: looking all around the country and saying, hey.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Yeah, no doubt.
- 22:25Speaker 1: I mean, look, it's going to get worse when we
- 22:30Speaker 1: go to 24. I mean, there's no question about that.
- 22:33Speaker 1: People think it's going to get better. And I've heard
- 22:35Speaker 1: some coaches say, hey, we can lose a game or
- 22:37Speaker 1: two now and go. And I'm going, okay, you can
- 22:40Speaker 1: lose a game or two. But if you get left
- 22:43Speaker 1: out even at 9-3 of a 24-team race and you're
- 22:47Speaker 1: at one of those schools, you're going to be looking
- 22:49Speaker 1: for a job.
- 22:50Speaker 8: Do you think Kiefer Sutherland could give out the trophy
- 22:53Speaker 8: the first time that we have 24?
- 22:54Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 22:56Speaker 1: I want to bring Jack Bauer back. I want another
- 23:00Speaker 1: Jack Bauer movie.
- 23:02Speaker 8: I mean, Dexter's back all the time.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Dexter keeps coming back. They can't kill him. They can't
- 23:06Speaker 1: get rid of him.
- 23:07Speaker 8: They can find enough blood for him to bathe in.
- 23:11Speaker 11: Yes.
- 23:13Speaker 3: But some people don't know what we're talking about.
- 23:16Speaker 8: Some people do. But I just think that all of that.
- 23:18Speaker 8: But so I'm going to go. I'm going to take
- 23:20Speaker 8: us back to Bucky.
- 23:22Speaker 4: OK.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Yes.
- 23:23Speaker 8: Started this segment with Bucky.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Let's finish with Bucky. We got a couple of minutes.
- 23:27Speaker 8: Anything that if you had to say he wants to
- 23:30Speaker 8: fix one thing right now, what is it? After watching him.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Play.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I think there's got to be a little bit more cohesion.
- 23:45Speaker 1: And I realize he likes chaos. You know what I'm saying?
- 23:49Speaker 8: He plays a lot of people.
- 23:51Speaker 3: He does play a lot of people. He will continue
- 23:53Speaker 3: to play a lot of people.
- 23:55Speaker 1: I think the chaos he likes to create is on
- 23:58Speaker 1: the defensive end. I know he's a lot like Nate
- 24:02Speaker 1: Oates in the fact that he wants layups or threes, right?
- 24:09Speaker 1: I don't think he's crazy about the mid-range game, but
- 24:13Speaker 1: he has a couple of guys that.
- 24:16Speaker 8: If you make every shot in the mid-range that you
- 24:18Speaker 8: take for Bucky, he would love you.
- 24:20Speaker 3: No doubt.
- 24:21Speaker 1: I mean, there's no doubt about that.
- 24:23Speaker 8: You shoot 60% from 12 to 15, guess what?
- 24:26Speaker 3: We've jumped around a little bit.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I was making a point when we went somewhere else
- 24:32Speaker 1: about the league itself. This league has the potential to
- 24:37Speaker 1: look like it did two years ago, okay, with the
- 24:41Speaker 1: players and all the teams that are expected to do well.
- 24:44Speaker 8: I saw Top 25 the other day that Kentucky was
- 24:46Speaker 8: not in the preseason Top 25.
- 24:48Speaker 3: A & M.
- 24:48Speaker 8: Kentucky were on the next bubble.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Kentucky was picked again this year, 6th or 7th preseason.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:56Speaker 3: It's not going to fly.
- 24:57Speaker 8: But if Kentucky is 6th or 7th, that also means
- 25:00Speaker 8: that this league is pretty deep because usually they're going
- 25:03Speaker 8: to have enough talent to be 1, 2, or 3.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Well, they got the 3-point shooter from Iowa State, Nam
- 25:11Speaker 1: Solovich or whatever his name is.
- 25:13Speaker 8: He better make them.
- 25:14Speaker 3: He better.
- 25:15Speaker 8: Maybe his NIL should be by the one I make.
- 25:19Speaker 3: I don't think he was ever booed at Iowa State.
- 25:21Speaker 13: No.
- 25:22Speaker 3: All right. Two weeks, right?
- 25:24Speaker 11: Two weeks.
- 25:24Speaker 1: He's got to be back in two weeks for us
- 25:27Speaker 1: here on the big show. Hey, Destination Brian, it's not
- 25:32Speaker 1: a game weekend, so you don't have to worry about that,
- 25:36Speaker 1: but there's always stuff going on. During the football season,
- 25:42Speaker 1: there's game day on Main. There are games on the
- 25:46Speaker 1: big screen. It's a perfect place to go. Take advantage
- 25:52Speaker 1: of what should be pretty decent weather, we hope, on Saturday. Food, drinks,
- 25:58Speaker 1: live music, restaurants, the Queen Theater, the Palace Theater. By
- 26:04Speaker 1: the way, there's some great singer-songwriters coming up at the
- 26:08Speaker 1: Palace Theater. So don't miss out on that. You know
- 26:11Speaker 1: they have a website, right? Destinationbryan.com. Go on that website
- 26:19Speaker 1: and see everything that's going on. Plus, it's the holiday season.
- 26:23Speaker 1: You know, they had the big trick-or-treat street last Sunday.
- 26:26Speaker 1: They've got all kinds of events.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Don't get FOMO. Go on Destinationbryan.com.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Howdy, I'm Bob Yancey, proud Aggie grad and Air Force veteran,
- 26:37Speaker 2: two-term councilman, and candidate for College Station Mayor. If you
- 26:41Speaker 2: believe City Hall should put citizens, neighborhoods, and public safety first,
- 26:45Speaker 2: I hope you'll consider a vote for me, Bob Yancey.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I'll hold the line on taxes and spending, welcome smart
- 26:51Speaker 2: growth and a healthy housing market, and find ways to
- 26:53Speaker 2: work better together supporting transparency and common sense in City Hall.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Please vote Bob Yancey.

- 27:34Speaker 14: Hi, I'm Peyton Holt. I'm running for College Station City Council,
- 27:38Speaker 14: Place 5. I'm a College Station attorney, small business owner,
- 27:41Speaker 14: and Pebble Creek resident. My career in business and real
- 27:44Speaker 14: estate law has taught me the importance of planning, accountability,
- 27:48Speaker 14: and getting things done. My first priority is simple. Public
- 27:51Speaker 14: safety comes first. I'm proud to be endorsed by the
- 27:54Speaker 14: College Station Police Officers Association and the College Station Firefighters.
- 27:59Speaker 14: As our city grows, we need intentional, disciplined leadership. That
- 28:03Speaker 14: means fixing roads, easing traffic, planning ahead for water drainage
- 28:07Speaker 14: and infrastructure. It means responsible budgets, holding the line on taxes,
- 28:11Speaker 14: demanding transparency for every taxpayer dollar, supporting local businesses, creating opportunities,
- 28:17Speaker 14: and cutting unnecessary red tape. Let's protect what makes College
- 28:21Speaker 14: Station special while building a stronger future for our families
- 28:24Speaker 14: and businesses. I'm Peyton Holt, City Council Place 5, for
- 28:28Speaker 14: what we can be.

- 29:42Speaker 3: Mallory?
- 29:44Speaker 4: Yes. That's me.
- 29:46Speaker 3: I know you have a little one.
- 29:48Speaker 4: I sure do.
- 29:50Speaker 3: What's the costume this year?
- 29:52Speaker 4: So she, well, I think she's a little manipulative and
- 29:57Speaker 4: a little smarter. I made her too smart because first
- 30:00Speaker 4: she wanted to be Ariel because she does not have
- 30:02Speaker 4: that in her costume. Okay. Her dress up clothes.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Yes.
- 30:05Speaker 4: But no, that's not who she's going to be. She's
- 30:07Speaker 4: going to be someone named Mira from K-Pop Demon Hunters,
- 30:11Speaker 4: which is the pink haired girl because she wanted a
- 30:14Speaker 4: pink wig. Nice. So.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Nice.
- 30:17Speaker 4: That is what I'm dealing with this year.
- 30:20Speaker 3: Very good.
- 30:22Speaker 4: A crazy wig.
- 30:24Speaker 3: And you?
- 30:24Speaker 4: Oh, a tired mom. The scariest thing of all. An
- 30:31Speaker 4: overstimulated mom.
- 30:33Speaker 3: You know, I got to tell you, I have not
- 30:35Speaker 3: picked out my outfit yet.
- 30:37Speaker 13: Oh, well.
- 30:40Speaker 1: You know from past experience that we like to dress
- 30:43Speaker 1: up around here.
- 30:44Speaker 4: See, if I still had to actively be in the office,
- 30:47Speaker 4: I think I would be way more prone. Because I
- 30:50Speaker 4: used to dress up quite a bit, too.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Yes, you did.
- 30:53Speaker 4: I became, again, an overstimulated mom.
- 30:56Speaker 3: We've got pictures to prove it.
- 30:58Speaker 4: There are.
- 30:59Speaker 3: There are pictures to prove it.
- 31:02Speaker 4: Well.
- 31:04Speaker 3: So let me start here.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Okay.
- 31:06Speaker 1: William Shatner is remembering his Star Trek co-star, Walter Koenig.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Chekhov died this week at the age of 90.
- 31:17Speaker 1: I'm deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenig's passing, Shatner
- 31:23Speaker 1: said in a statement. Although we did not know each
- 31:25Speaker 1: other well away from the set, we shared the later
- 31:30Speaker 1: seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six
- 31:34Speaker 1: films that followed. What I observed and what so many
- 31:38Speaker 1: fans have expressed over the years was a man who
- 31:40Speaker 1: genuinely loved the Star Trek community. At conventions, Walter was
- 31:46Speaker 1: rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred
- 31:50Speaker 1: to be among the people who had kept Star Trek
- 31:52Speaker 1: alive for so many decades. That kind of genuine connection
- 31:56Speaker 1: is rare. It will be remembered by everyone who came
- 31:59Speaker 1: in contact with him by condolences to his family, friends,
- 32:02Speaker 1: and the countless fans whose lives he touched.
- 32:07Speaker 4: You know, I was wondering, I knew Walter, or Walter,
- 32:11Speaker 4: not Walter, William Shatner was.
- 32:12Speaker 3: A little up in age. Yeah, he's in his 90s.
- 32:15Speaker 3: He's what?
- 32:15Speaker 4: He's 95.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Yeah, oh, I know. It's crazy. And still, and it's
- 32:19Speaker 3: still very sharp.
- 32:20Speaker 4: He's doing great.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Oh, he's doing great. He's doing good. He's doing amazing.
- 32:25Speaker 1: So congrats.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Good on him, by the way.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Yeah, right?
- 32:32Speaker 3: Okay, you're a big Dancing with the Stars fan.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Oh, I am, and I did actually watch this.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Okay, I knew you did.
- 32:39Speaker 4: I was prepared.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Okay.
- 32:41Speaker 4: So we did briefly, I believe, talk about last week
- 32:44Speaker 4: how it was a little awkward with the whole Val situation.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Yes. Val got suspended, right?
- 32:52Speaker 4: For a week. Yes, he did. So after that one-week suspension,
- 32:55Speaker 4: Val returned to the ballroom, rejoining celebrity partner DeJuan. I forgot.
- 33:01Speaker 4: I was like, I forgot how to say her last name.
- 33:04Speaker 4: For the competition. It was Horror Movie Night.
- 33:06Speaker 3: How was it?
- 33:08Speaker 4: Halloween. It was good. I mean, I'm going to be honest.
- 33:11Speaker 4: The Halloween one's usually my favorite.
- 33:13Speaker 7: I love Halloween.
- 33:14Speaker 4: Uh-huh. This one kind of seemed a little lackluster, but
- 33:19Speaker 4: it was fine. He was forced to sit out, as
- 33:22Speaker 4: we know, last week, which was the Dedication Night episode.
- 33:24Speaker 4: After he did post the controversial Will Smith slapping... Chris
- 33:31Speaker 4: Rock meme about Carrie Ann's basically her critiques because she
- 33:35Speaker 4: is a judge on the show towards his wife. So
- 33:38Speaker 4: he took that very personally. But anyways, upon his return,
- 33:41Speaker 4: he was thrilled to reunite with Jenna in rehearsals, telling her,
- 33:44Speaker 4: I am so sorry for the chaos. You did not
- 33:46Speaker 4: sign up for that. And I feel awful. She did
- 33:49Speaker 4: accept his apology and offered a hug saying, I forgave
- 33:51Speaker 4: you for focusing their sights on the Argentine tango inspired
- 33:56Speaker 4: by zombie movies this week. um it was it was
- 34:00Speaker 4: it was a pretty good dance okay after their impressive
- 34:02Speaker 4: dance the judges only had good things to say including
- 34:06Speaker 4: carrie ann who they that's the whole beef uh who
- 34:09Speaker 4: opened her feedback with a compliment for val specifically saying
- 34:12Speaker 4: his it was incredible choreography so seems to be in
- 34:16Speaker 4: the past with those two she also told the pair
- 34:19Speaker 4: the dance was a whole a or as a whole
- 34:22Speaker 4: was perfection. It was really good, but there was a
- 34:24Speaker 4: little slip up. So they did give her nines for
- 34:26Speaker 4: the most part, but still good scores.
- 34:30Speaker 3: So that is not all. No, there's more, right?
- 34:33Speaker 4: There's more. Yes, I have another thing. We don't have
- 34:35Speaker 4: to talk about Val anymore. Things did get extra spooky
- 34:38Speaker 4: on this show. This is week seven, which is crazy.
- 34:42Speaker 3: People were sent home, I hope, right? People were eliminated?
- 34:45Speaker 4: There was two. There was two people eliminated.
- 34:47Speaker 13: Wow.
- 34:47Speaker 4: Because last week, you can't eliminate people after, you know,
- 34:50Speaker 4: they do this emotional thing.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Like, they're not monsters, apparently.
- 34:56Speaker 4: But Halloween night, scary. So, yes, let's eliminate two. So...
- 35:02Speaker 4: there were inspires of course, from legendary horror field films,
- 35:06Speaker 4: such as, uh, I know there was one for saw,
- 35:08Speaker 4: there was one for Annabelle. Um, so with that being said, with,
- 35:14Speaker 4: there are only four, I didn't know that there's only
- 35:16Speaker 4: four remaining shows for until the finale. Um, but Shirley Ballas,
- 35:21Speaker 4: who is Mark Ballas, who is one of the pros mom,
- 35:23Speaker 4: who's apparently very strict. Honestly, it was quite funny because
- 35:27Speaker 4: the other judges were giving these, giving the pros and they're,
- 35:32Speaker 4: celebrities like eight or nine. She'd pop up like a
- 35:35Speaker 4: four or five. Okay.
- 35:37Speaker 3: She's a tough judge.
- 35:39Speaker 4: Yeah, it was a tough cookie. But she did earn
- 35:42Speaker 4: the nickname Queen of Latin. And of course, she did lower.
- 35:46Speaker 4: She gave her son the lowest score compared to the
- 35:48Speaker 4: other judges. What made me laugh also. Yeah, she didn't
- 35:52Speaker 4: she didn't hold back. Her lowest score was a four,
- 35:54Speaker 4: but she did give someone a 10, which was crazy.
- 35:56Speaker 3: OK, I have a question.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Apparently, there's a Savannah Banana in the group. Jackson Olsen, right?
- 36:04Speaker 4: He yes spoiler alert he was eliminated and so was
- 36:07Speaker 4: tyler cameron.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Oh no no.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Yeah and honestly he he which is crazy because the
- 36:15Speaker 4: savannah band jackson his dance was actually probably his best
- 36:19Speaker 4: dance okay he has done okay it was really great
- 36:23Speaker 4: um Tyler was so mad, though. Whenever the judges score,
- 36:28Speaker 4: he got big mad. You could tell. And then, of course,
- 36:31Speaker 4: he apologized after being eliminated. But can you imagine the
- 36:34Speaker 4: Jackson guy looked like the Joker, like the scary Joker.
- 36:39Speaker 3: I like that.
- 36:40Speaker 4: Can you imagine being eliminated and that's.
- 36:42Speaker 1: How you look now? So you're saying he was the
- 36:47Speaker 1: Heath Ledger Joker?
- 36:49Speaker 4: He was that Joker. Yes, the Heath Ledger Joker. I
- 36:53Speaker 4: think it was, yes, that one. Yes, he wasn't the
- 36:56Speaker 4: other guy.
- 36:57Speaker 3: I can't think of his name for some reason.
- 36:58Speaker 4: It doesn't matter.
- 36:59Speaker 1: So this guy apparently was flying back and forth coast
- 37:05Speaker 1: to coast because he was still playing for the Bananas,
- 37:12Speaker 1: flying back to the West Coast time in time for
- 37:14Speaker 1: 8 a.m.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Rehearsals.
- 37:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Classified by fans as the human version of a golden retriever.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Having the time of his life. It was the most
- 37:29Speaker 1: fun ever, he said. Began posting on TikTok. And he just,
- 37:39Speaker 1: he said, I kind of manifested this whole thing. Posted
- 37:43Speaker 1: a couple of TikToks last year. I was just joking around.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Never thought it was a possibility. The majority of contestants,
- 37:53Speaker 1: the art of the ballroom has proven challenging for the banana.
- 37:58Speaker 1: More comfortable hitting the renegade than the rumba. I think
- 38:04Speaker 1: staying in frame is the hardest thing I've had to
- 38:06Speaker 1: do because having a good posture is not a thing
- 38:10Speaker 1: in baseball.
- 38:13Speaker 3: I like that. So Jackson is.
- 38:15Speaker 11: Out, huh?
- 38:16Speaker 4: Yeah, he's out. I'm sure he's bummed, but at the
- 38:20Speaker 4: same time, probably a little relieved that he doesn't have
- 38:23Speaker 4: to keep maintaining the schedule.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Okay, so you know that Halloween week, all the stars
- 38:30Speaker 1: have to impress us with what they're wearing, right?
- 38:36Speaker 4: Of course. They have to outdo each other.
- 38:41Speaker 3: So, Paris Hilton channeling, that's a big Big difference.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Paris Hilton is channeling Britney Spears. Emily Ratajkowski pulled off
- 38:55Speaker 1: Jennifer Lopez's plunging Versace dress. Dancing with the Stars favorite
- 39:02Speaker 1: Guillermo delivered a stellar rendition of Olivia Rodrigo, Crop Top
- 39:11Speaker 1: and All. Sabrina Carpenter's sultry pretty girl image is popular
- 39:19Speaker 1: among many of the celebs.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Okay.
- 39:23Speaker 1: So you can, there's a, who is it that does
- 39:28Speaker 1: the famous party every year?
- 39:30Speaker 4: Oh, it's Heidi. Heidi Klum.
- 39:31Speaker 8: Heidi Klum, right?
- 39:32Speaker 3: We haven't seen all of their costumes yet.
- 39:35Speaker 4: I'm sure she'll spend a whole day in a chair.
- 39:38Speaker 1: And remember Regis Lee and Kelly Lee. They used to
- 39:43Speaker 1: have incredible costumes when they were together.
- 39:46Speaker 3: I don't know about Mark. Well, I don't know. I'm
- 39:50Speaker 3: sure Mark and Kelly are dressing up. I'm sure they are.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Maybe they're waiting until Friday's show.
- 39:58Speaker 8: Probably.
- 39:59Speaker 4: Because, yeah, didn't they used to, like, do multiple costume changes?
- 40:02Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 40:03Speaker 1: They had, of course, when you have costume designers, you
- 40:06Speaker 1: can look pretty good.
- 40:07Speaker 4: Yeah, when you have a bunch of people who can
- 40:09Speaker 4: do all that for you, it would help you out,
- 40:11Speaker 4: but it's a lot easier.
- 40:12Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, come on. You know what I'm saying?
- 40:15Speaker 4: Exactly. Well, Chip, now you have some really great ideas
- 40:19Speaker 4: for your costume. I'm thinking Britney Spears would be a
- 40:24Speaker 4: great option.
- 40:25Speaker 3: I'm thinking Olivia Rodrigo, maybe.
- 40:27Speaker 4: Why not? You know, make the competition stiff with you.
- 40:33Speaker 3: You know, I don't know.
- 40:36Speaker 1: You know, I've got like I said, I have several
- 40:39Speaker 1: costumes over the years that I have rotated.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Yeah. Maybe my favorite is Pennywise.
- 40:47Speaker 4: Pennywise.
- 40:49Speaker 1: That terrifies the little kids that show up in the
- 40:54Speaker 1: evening trick-or-treating. And isn't that what Halloween is all about,
- 40:58Speaker 1: to get the little kids to cry?
- 40:59Speaker 4: Hey, it builds character, okay?
- 41:03Speaker 8: It's fine.
- 41:05Speaker 4: They might be a little traumatized for their life, but
- 41:07Speaker 4: you know what?
- 41:08Speaker 1: I think I did Pennywise again last year. You know,
- 41:12Speaker 1: you've got to go get the red balloon. You can't
- 41:14Speaker 1: do it without the balloon. So I may not have
- 41:18Speaker 1: time to do that this year. I may have to.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Jump into another one. You know what I'm saying?
- 41:24Speaker 6: Man, all right.
- 41:25Speaker 3: I'll think about it. I'll see what I can do.
- 41:28Speaker 11: There you go.
- 41:29Speaker 3: I'll be all dressed up Saturday.
- 41:32Speaker 4: You'll have to give us an update.
- 41:34Speaker 3: I will.
- 41:35Speaker 1: We usually have a pretty good crowd come to our house.
- 41:38Speaker 4: Well, we have one on a Saturday, too, although it
- 41:39Speaker 4: is supposed to rain, which is kind of a joke.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, we give good candy. We always give
- 41:46Speaker 1: good candy.
- 41:49Speaker 4: You heard it here.
- 41:50Speaker 3: Word gets out.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not telling people where I live.
- 41:54Speaker 4: I wouldn't.
- 41:57Speaker 1: I just like seeing the surprises on the little kid's
- 42:00Speaker 1: face when I open the.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Door and they go, Chip Howard, you live here?
- 42:05Speaker 1: And I go, no, no, I don't. I'm just handing
- 42:09Speaker 1: out candy. This is not my house.
- 42:12Speaker 4: This is my Airbnb.
- 42:13Speaker 3: I'm fine.
- 42:15Speaker 1: It just causes traffic jams in the neighborhood. My neighbors
- 42:19Speaker 1: don't like it. We've got paparazzi outside trying to get
- 42:24Speaker 1: the golden shot of me handing out candies to little kids.
- 42:31Speaker 1: And it causes problems, which is most of the time
- 42:35Speaker 1: why I am dressed up in costumes.
- 42:39Speaker 4: Yeah, so, you know, if you run into him, guys, just,
- 42:42Speaker 4: you know, be cool.
- 42:44Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 42:46Speaker 4: Don't ruin it, okay?
- 42:47Speaker 3: Exactly, exactly.
- 42:49Speaker 4: Gotta live in peace.
- 42:51Speaker 3: Okay, what else you got?
- 42:53Speaker 4: Moving on. Let's talk about another scary story, I guess.
- 42:58Speaker 4: I don't know. Meghan Markle.
- 43:01Speaker 3: I know, terrifying. Terrifying.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Meghan Markle. No, she apparently is holding up amid allegations
- 43:08Speaker 4: of child.
- 43:10Speaker 4: Can I say that on there? I don't know if
- 43:14Speaker 4: I can say that.
- 43:16Speaker 3: Child abuse.
- 43:18Speaker 4: Inappropriate pictures of children. Yes. And abuse against her estranged father,
- 43:23Speaker 4: Thomas Markle Sr. It's been very difficult.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Hasn't this guy caused problems before, as I recall?
- 43:30Speaker 4: He is. When they were getting married, he threw a
- 43:34Speaker 4: huge fit. He wasn't invited.
- 43:35Speaker 13: Yes.
- 43:35Speaker 3: He wrote a letter. That's what it is.
- 43:37Speaker 4: To the press.
- 43:38Speaker 3: That's what it is.
- 43:38Speaker 4: I forgot all about that.
- 43:39Speaker 1: And now we're kind of learning why he wasn't invited.
- 43:45Speaker 4: Yeah. She said she has... Sorry, the rep says. A
- 43:48Speaker 4: friend of... Sorry, it's.
- 43:49Speaker 8: Apparently a friend.
- 43:50Speaker 4: What she has, apparently. She has young children, and I
- 43:53Speaker 4: think that alongside the victims is just... It's just weighing
- 43:57Speaker 4: on her mind.
- 43:58Speaker 6: It's traumatic.
- 43:59Speaker 4: There's also a slight sense of relief that this is
- 44:01Speaker 4: all coming out. The print ads expressing hope that a
- 44:05Speaker 4: proper investigation can take place.
- 44:07Speaker 3: In other words, she wants him behind bars.
- 44:10Speaker 4: Yes. They are receiving updates while on family holiday.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Wait a minute. They're on family holiday. Oh, they have
- 44:17Speaker 3: a school break.
- 44:19Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Remember, they went back to the UK and now they
- 44:22Speaker 4: have holidays.
- 44:23Speaker 3: Of course they do. Of course they do.
- 44:25Speaker 4: With that being said, as somebody who has a child
- 44:28Speaker 4: in public school, my gosh, they get more breaks.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Than I ever thought when I was in public school.
- 44:34Speaker 3: They get unbelievable.
- 44:35Speaker 1: What is that fall break all about anyway? What in
- 44:39Speaker 1: the world is that?
- 44:40Speaker 4: Oh, you're telling me. It was like fall break. That
- 44:43Speaker 4: was Thanksgiving.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Whose idea? And we only got three days. Exactly. Whose
- 44:47Speaker 3: idea was that? I don't know. And they start like
- 44:51Speaker 3: the first week of August.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Could we get rid of some of these breaks and
- 44:55Speaker 1: have them start school at a decent time and finish
- 44:59Speaker 1: at a decent time? No.
- 45:01Speaker 4: Of course not. Fall break.
- 45:04Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 45:05Speaker 4: My God. Sorry to get on a tangent there.
- 45:08Speaker 1: My kids are grown, but I know the grandkids are.
- 45:11Speaker 1: And it's like, why are we doing this?
- 45:15Speaker 4: Every other week, I swear. We barely do a full
- 45:17Speaker 4: week of school, okay? I know.
- 45:19Speaker 3: It doesn't matter, though.
- 45:20Speaker 4: I know. With that being said, I do love my
- 45:23Speaker 4: daughter's school and her teacher, so she's fantastic. But I
- 45:27Speaker 4: just wish she kind of saw her sometimes more, like
- 45:30Speaker 4: fall break.
- 45:30Speaker 3: All right.
- 45:31Speaker 4: I digress.
- 45:32Speaker 3: Yeah, let me talk about this. Do it, please.
- 45:36Speaker 1: There's a new book out on former President John F.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Kennedy called Ladies' Man. The careless heart of John F.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Kennedy sheds new light on his long-rumored affair with Marilyn Monroe.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Per his research, the affair likely began in March of
- 45:56Speaker 1: 1962 during a three-day visit to Palm Springs. He writes,
- 46:03Speaker 1: Jack wanted to have an affair with a glamorous movie
- 46:06Speaker 1: star for some time, but Monroe was constantly pursued by
- 46:10Speaker 1: paparazzi and gossip columnists, making it difficult for him to approach.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Monroe's former husband, Arthur Miller, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, was
- 46:24Speaker 1: being investigated by the House Committee on American Activities in
- 46:28Speaker 1: the 50s. Despite their divorce in 61, the FBI was
- 46:33Speaker 1: still interested, quote.
- 46:35Speaker 3: In Marilyn Monroe. And Marilyn was, quote.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Embarrassed by her lack of education. Her marriage introduced her
- 46:46Speaker 1: to a world of politics and ideas. With Jack's ascension
- 46:51Speaker 1: to the presidency, she focused her interest on him, believing
- 46:56Speaker 1: he was the leader who could change America. This preoccupied
- 47:00Speaker 1: her to such an extent she discussed it in depth
- 47:03Speaker 1: with her psychoanalyst.
- 47:05Speaker 3: I don't know how he knows that.
- 47:09Speaker 13: But.
- 47:10Speaker 1: I don't see that this sheds a lot of new
- 47:15Speaker 1: light on what we already knew.
- 47:18Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 47:18Speaker 4: Yeah, probably not.
- 47:21Speaker 3: I mean, we already knew all this.
- 47:25Speaker 1: We knew she was killed, murdered, and did not, quote,
- 47:31Speaker 1: overdose on drugs, which she never took. We know a
- 47:37Speaker 1: lot of things. And I don't think this book... You know,
- 47:41Speaker 1: I don't think it does much. Meanwhile, I know this
- 47:43Speaker 1: is going to surprise you. We'll end with this huge,
- 47:46Speaker 1: huge surprise for you.
- 47:47Speaker 4: I'm excited.
- 47:49Speaker 3: Jennifer Lawrence had a boob job.
- 47:55Speaker 13: You go, girl.
- 47:56Speaker 1: The actress and her husband, Cook Maroney, the parents of
- 48:00Speaker 1: two children, the second son born early in twenty twenty five.
- 48:06Speaker 1: She said she's taking steps to become, quote, a hot mom.
- 48:13Speaker 1: During an October interview with The New Yorker, she said
- 48:16Speaker 1: she was open to all types of cosmetic surgeries. Discussed
- 48:22Speaker 1: a facelift saying, believe me, I'm going to get one. Lawrence,
- 48:27Speaker 1: who has wooed fans with her openness throughout her career,
- 48:31Speaker 1: shared her thoughts. about several cosmetic surgeries she's had during
- 48:37Speaker 1: an interview with Vogue. I can't really get very much done,
- 48:41Speaker 1: she said. I need to have movement in my face.
- 48:46Speaker 1: I get baby Botox, but I can't do a lot.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Baby Botox meaning just, you know, small doses.
- 48:55Speaker 4: She might be able to still somewhat.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Hey, I'm all about her being honest about that.
- 49:01Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? I love it.
- 49:02Speaker 4: I love when they're honest about it.
- 49:04Speaker 3: Don't lie to me. When I know you've had work done,
- 49:07Speaker 3: don't lie to me. You know what I'm saying?
- 49:10Speaker 4: Pop off, girl. Enjoy yourself.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Okay, let's do some birthdays, can we?
- 49:17Speaker 4: We can try.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Dennis Franz. NYPD Blue. Man, I love me that show.
- 49:23Speaker 1: 82 years young today. Ooh, Andy Potts, 74 today.
- 49:32Speaker 4: No, actor-comedian Andy Richer is 60 today.
- 49:36Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 49:37Speaker 4: And Julia Roberts.
- 49:38Speaker 3: Andy Richter is 60? Richter, not Richard. Oh, okay. I
- 49:45Speaker 3: believe you.
- 49:45Speaker 4: But Julia Roberts is 59.
- 49:48Speaker 3: Parts of her, speaking of work.
- 49:50Speaker 4: Well, but now we can say that about Jennifer Lawrence
- 49:52Speaker 4: when it's her birthday.
- 49:53Speaker 3: Yes, yes. Lauren Holly, 63 today. Okay. Oh, Ben Harper.
- 50:01Speaker 3: I like him. 57 today.
- 50:08Speaker 4: Okay.
- 50:09Speaker 3: You know. Oh, Joaquin Phoenix. Oh, Brad Paisley. No, how
- 50:13Speaker 3: old's Brad Paisley?
- 50:15Speaker 4: Apparently he's 59.
- 50:17Speaker 3: Or 54, sorry.
- 50:19Speaker 1: 54.
- 50:20Speaker 3: He was on the Dolly special last week.
- 50:22Speaker 4: How was that?
- 50:23Speaker 1: It was terrific. It was terrific. Really well done. Really,
- 50:28Speaker 1: really well done. It was really good. I'm glad.
- 50:32Speaker 3: I think it was a fitting honor. I really do.
- 50:35Speaker 4: Good.
- 50:36Speaker 3: Joaquin Phoenix. The Weird One, 52. A little weird, yeah.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Finn Wittrock from American Horror Story, Freak Show, 42.
- 50:46Speaker 3: I haven't watched this year. Have you?
- 50:51Speaker 4: I have not.
- 50:52Speaker 3: I didn't even know it was happening yet. It just
- 50:54Speaker 3: kind of creeped me out, which I know is the point.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Tomorrow, since we won't be here, friend of the show,
- 51:01Speaker 1: Charlie's Angel, Kate Jackson is 78 years young tomorrow.
- 51:07Speaker 4: Wow.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Wow. Homer Simpson is 69 tomorrow. Dan Castellaneta is 69 tomorrow.
- 51:16Speaker 1: He would hurt himself if he fell off his wallet.
- 51:18Speaker 1: That's been a good gig for him. Randy Jackson of
- 51:23Speaker 1: the Jacksons, 65 tomorrow.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Winona Ryder, 55 tomorrow. Gabrielle Union, 54 tomorrow.
- 51:34Speaker 9: Okay.
- 51:38Speaker 1: We want to wish everybody a happy Halloween, and let's
- 51:42Speaker 1: be careful out there.

- 52:50Speaker 11: The Dallas Cowboys are back in the win column after
- 52:53Speaker 11: defeating the Eagles last night 38-21. The offense came back
- 52:56Speaker 11: to life after back-to-back losses where they scored less than
- 52:59Speaker 11: 20 points in both games. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott spoke
- 53:02Speaker 11: after the game on the importance of getting back on track.
- 53:05Speaker 17: Yeah, I mean, you said the only thing that matters
- 53:07Speaker 17: is getting a win. Huge to do that. Obviously, in
- 53:11Speaker 17: what we've done in the last couple of weeks to
- 53:14Speaker 17: put that behind us and come out and get a
- 53:16Speaker 17: division win on the road. In a hostile environment, right
- 53:20Speaker 17: before we get to go home for a couple of weeks,
- 53:22Speaker 17: I think it was massive and just a great complimentary win.
- 53:25Speaker 17: Right back and forth in the first half, defense settles
- 53:28Speaker 17: in in the second half, one touchdown, and we're able
- 53:31Speaker 17: to pretty much score on most of the drives, I think,
- 53:33Speaker 17: except right there, two of the three in the fourth quarter.
- 53:36Speaker 17: Very balanced attack. We've got to stick to it.
- 53:39Speaker 11: The team is now 3-4 on the season and are
- 53:41Speaker 11: back home Sunday as they face the Cardinals with kickoff
- 53:43Speaker 11: scheduled for noon. With your Dallas Cowboys report, I'm Dylan Moore.
