- 0:04Speaker 1: NHL Unscripted is a production of the NHL and iHeart podcasts.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Coming Up NHL Unscripted Episode sixty We made it. What
- 0:26Speaker 1: a benchmark, Jacob's Ladder, What a week for Jacob Fowler,
- 0:29Speaker 1: cinefal In sixty courting Oscar Glory, is hamnet worthy of
- 0:34Speaker 1: all the hype. Our special guest is William Ecklin of
- 0:36Speaker 1: the upstart Santose Sharks and mister Skin is out in Edmonton.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I'm back from Winnipeg Winter Peg as it is known.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Great game though sends and the Jets, but we're gonna
- 0:47Speaker 1: talk about some major moves off the ice right now, JD.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Next to you win Chuck can Chuck ot winner.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Yeah, unbelievable. It was definitely an exciting game. And Connor
- 0:57Speaker 1: Helbuck is now back for Winnipeg, which is great. But
- 0:59Speaker 1: you're right on what nice road victory for them. But
- 1:02Speaker 1: everyone's still talking about the next of Quinn Quinn Hugh
- 1:05Speaker 1: and I think you nailed the Jenny last wee year
- 1:06Speaker 1: kind said, listen where the smoke through fire.
- 1:08Speaker 3: It's getting worse.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I wasn't expecting on a Friday night the work coming
- 1:12Speaker 1: out the Captain dealt the Minnesota Wild Ze Bulliam forwards,
- 1:16Speaker 1: Marco Rossi, Liam Ogrin to Vancouver.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Along with the first round pick this summer.
- 1:20Speaker 1: So we were talking with Wild captain George Spurgeon just
- 1:23Speaker 1: two weeks ago how tough it's been for.
- 1:24Speaker 3: The Wild keeping PAGs with Colorado and Dallas.
- 1:27Speaker 1: What do you make of Billy Garon putting all his
- 1:29Speaker 1: chips to the table, basically trading four first.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Round picks for the great Quinn Hughes. Amazing move by them.
- 1:36Speaker 4: It's I don't think there's anybody that could have matched
- 1:38Speaker 4: that offer, and I think it's a good trade for both.
- 1:41Speaker 4: I listened to him on the game call that literally
- 1:46Speaker 4: the game first game Quinn Hughes was playing, and he
- 1:48Speaker 4: was talking for about twenty minutes and he just said, listen,
- 1:51Speaker 4: it's one of those trades where he thinks that you know,
- 1:53Speaker 4: it's going to be good for both teams, and that's
- 1:55Speaker 4: what you hope to get. I think if it's only
- 1:58Speaker 4: going to be really good for Vancouver if they get
- 2:00Speaker 4: that first overall pick, so then you know tanking from
- 2:03Speaker 4: now is going to be important. But I mean, you
- 2:05Speaker 4: get it's hard to quantify how much you spend on
- 2:08Speaker 4: a guy like Quinn Hughes, but you've seen the impact
- 2:11Speaker 4: that he's had the last two games. I mean, it's
- 2:14Speaker 4: brock favors three points in two games. They look like
- 2:17Speaker 4: an absolute wagon right now. So and without Matt Sukerrello
- 2:21Speaker 4: and Jonas Brodean. So to me, I'm like, this team
- 2:24Speaker 4: has in one move become one of the teams to
- 2:26Speaker 4: beat in the NHL.
- 2:28Speaker 2: But it's just sad.
- 2:29Speaker 4: It goes back to the thing I keep saying that
- 2:31Speaker 4: I think it has to go back to one to
- 2:33Speaker 4: eight in the playoffs. I think the NHL needs to
- 2:35Speaker 4: kind of get it together a little bit.
- 2:38Speaker 2: On that side.
- 2:38Speaker 4: I understand it's it's it's worked for this amount of time,
- 2:43Speaker 4: you know, playing rivalries early in the playoffs when it's
- 2:46Speaker 4: the you know the divisions, the three, the one two three,
- 2:49Speaker 4: win two three, But on one versus eight just provides
- 2:52Speaker 4: so much more because in the first round we're gonna
- 2:54Speaker 4: lose possibly we're gonna lose one of those top three
- 2:58Speaker 4: of Colorado, Dallas and Minnesota, and then one of them
- 3:03Speaker 4: is probably only gonna make the conference finals, which is
- 3:06Speaker 4: a little bit sad. It's you want to see that
- 3:08Speaker 4: kind of goal late. You want to see those matchups
- 3:11Speaker 4: in the second and third round. So yeah, I it's
- 3:15Speaker 4: amazing to see the trade. And I love Quinn Hughes.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I think he's he's, you know, number two in the
- 3:20Speaker 4: NHL defenseman right now. But I just don't love that,
- 3:25Speaker 4: you know, It's like that, it's the moment of elation
- 3:27Speaker 4: to the moment of oh wait, two of these teams
- 3:30Speaker 4: aren't going to make it to the conference finals.
- 3:32Speaker 3: The frustration for Vancouver.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I mean, listen, he wasn't eligible to sign a contract
- 3:35Speaker 1: elsewhere until the summer, but as you said, it looked
- 3:37Speaker 1: like it was festering. Maybe some surprise they didn't wait
- 3:39Speaker 1: till the trade deadline. Maybe Jimmy Rotherford realize.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Hey, point of no return.
- 3:43Speaker 1: As the details the move comes in, it appears he
- 3:45Speaker 1: was basically total Cannuck's management. He was not going to
- 3:47Speaker 1: resign with them when the contract spared in twenty twenty seven,
- 3:50Speaker 1: so they started rebuilding the team and they treated j
- 3:52Speaker 1: tm nort the Rangers last January. I don't know if
- 3:55Speaker 1: it's enough of a return. Listen, Williams maybe a fifty
- 3:57Speaker 1: point defenseman ross he's a good player. As you said,
- 4:00Speaker 1: I don't know what this first round pick will be
- 4:01Speaker 1: how Ogrim develops. I don't know what the other offers were,
- 4:03Speaker 1: but Clearlyvan Cooper said.
- 4:05Speaker 3: This is the best we can do right now.
- 4:07Speaker 1: And from Billy Garran's perspective, there's a riskers Well, there's
- 4:10Speaker 1: some thought that well, no matter what, he wants to
- 4:12Speaker 1: go to Jersey and play with his brothers. Now, I
- 4:13Speaker 1: think if he goes there, and as you said, they
- 4:15Speaker 1: have great success. If they win a Stanley Cup. He
- 4:17Speaker 1: loves playing with Caroll Caprisov, he knows how much they
- 4:20Speaker 1: love hockey Minnesota. Then I can see Quinn Hughes putting
- 4:22Speaker 1: his stamp down. But there's no doubt it's a risk
- 4:25Speaker 1: from Billy G's perspective, Hughes because hey, no offense, I
- 4:27Speaker 1: want to play with my brothers.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Anyways, I'm going to Jersey.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I think he's gonna spend time there.
- 4:34Speaker 4: And the biggest thing for athletes is as much as
- 4:37Speaker 4: you want to go play with your brothers, you want
- 4:38Speaker 4: to go play with the good players. You want to
- 4:41Speaker 4: be in good cities, you know, winnings everything. So if
- 4:45Speaker 4: they can win, they can show that they have a
- 4:49Speaker 4: squad that can compete for years. I mean Quinn Hughes
- 4:52Speaker 4: is a competitor. This isn't a guy that you know.
- 4:54Speaker 4: They spend time in the summer together. They all live
- 4:58Speaker 4: in the same house down the street from each other.
- 5:00Speaker 4: So to me, I'm like, I don't think it. Eventually
- 5:03Speaker 4: down the line, they're gonna want to play together. But
- 5:06Speaker 4: he's gonna end up loving being in Minnesota. I mean
- 5:09Speaker 4: it's a really you know, family friendly town. The team's great.
- 5:13Speaker 4: You know, you get a great GM there, good ownership,
- 5:15Speaker 4: so for me, the fans are great. So you spend
- 5:18Speaker 4: a little bit of time there, and you know, as
- 5:20Speaker 4: much as the it's enticing to want to go play
- 5:22Speaker 4: with your brothers, I think he's they go on a
- 5:24Speaker 4: lengthy playoff.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Run this year.
- 5:26Speaker 4: I think definitely he's gonna stay resigned, gonna consider it.
- 5:29Speaker 4: And now Billy Garan's got all I mean, he's got
- 5:31Speaker 4: months of time directly with Quinn Hughes having a relationship
- 5:35Speaker 4: with him. They're gonna be at the Olympics together, but
- 5:38Speaker 4: he's gonna play with brock Favor right now up.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Until the Olympics. Do you think it's a reason.
- 5:42Speaker 4: You think there's a reason why he's playing with brock
- 5:44Speaker 4: Favor because he's gonna play them at the Olympics.
- 5:47Speaker 2: They might go slave in favor.
- 5:49Speaker 4: But I if the indication of the first two games
- 5:52Speaker 4: is anything like these two guys, it's a great tandem.
- 5:55Speaker 4: They're a little small, but they move the pucks so well,
- 5:57Speaker 4: they defend well.
- 5:58Speaker 2: So we'll see. But it's just a lot of time.
- 6:01Speaker 4: So I just think with that much time, Billy Garran's
- 6:03Speaker 4: gonna wo him and he's gonna woo wooed him into
- 6:07Speaker 4: a contract for sure, long term one maybe, or maybe
- 6:10Speaker 4: it's just a three four year contract that you know,
- 6:12Speaker 4: a maximum amount of money, and that kind of puts
- 6:15Speaker 4: him in a position to kind of play with his brothers.
- 6:18Speaker 4: But you know, at the end of the day, I
- 6:20Speaker 4: think Quinn Hughes is in the driver's seed, but I
- 6:22Speaker 4: think he's going to resign in Minnesota.
- 6:24Speaker 1: He wells book definitely has time to entice them and
- 6:27Speaker 1: Ivious see if they can win.
- 6:28Speaker 3: That would go a long way towards that.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Canuck's officially now on the Gavin mckennough sweepstakes.
- 6:32Speaker 3: We'll see what happens for them meantime.
- 6:34Speaker 1: The other major trade, the Edmonton Oilers and the Pittsburgh
- 6:36Speaker 1: Penguins as Oilers finally make a change in net. They
- 6:39Speaker 1: got Tristan Jarr and forward Sampulin from the Oilers, Stuart Skinner,
- 6:43Speaker 1: Bret Koulak and a twenty twenty nine second round picks.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Edmonton fills the gap left by Kulak getting Spencer Stassy
- 6:49Speaker 1: from the Nashville Predators. But the big story is here,
- 6:51Speaker 1: replacing Skinner, big part of a team that you know
- 6:54Speaker 1: took you to the Stanley Cup back back finals, well,
- 6:55Speaker 1: wasn't quite good enough. It was talked to Elliott Frieman
- 6:58Speaker 1: about this on NHL Network on Friday, because I said,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you know, in life, most things are subjective. This guy good,
- 7:04Speaker 1: this guy's bad, it's everyone's opinion. But in sports are
- 7:06Speaker 1: generally objective. You can look at stats, look at data,
- 7:09Speaker 1: and objectively speaking, can you tell me that Tristan Jarry
- 7:12Speaker 1: is demonstrably better than Stuart Skinner and fritzid I know
- 7:15Speaker 1: what you're saying.
- 7:15Speaker 3: It feels like to some lateral move. But the point is.
- 7:18Speaker 1: They didn't believe necessarily that Stuart Skinner could be a
- 7:21Speaker 1: guy that could take him the Cup again.
- 7:23Speaker 3: So is Jarry better? I'm not sure. Maybe he is,
- 7:25Speaker 3: maybe he isn't.
- 7:26Speaker 1: But they didn't feel like Skinner was gonna be the
- 7:28Speaker 1: answer this time around.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Do you feel like, if you're an Oilers fan, Jarr's an.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Upgrade, I think so, I think a slight upgrade. I
- 7:39Speaker 4: I just think it was untenable, you know, with Skinner
- 7:42Speaker 4: at that point, there's just too much noise and the
- 7:44Speaker 4: noise gets so loud, and I don't know if.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just one of.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Those things that I think it's was a decision that
- 7:53Speaker 4: was on everybody's mind since last year in the finals.
- 7:56Speaker 4: I know, it's a guy that's brought into the finals twice,
- 7:58Speaker 4: and people say Skinner is a two time finals goalie,
- 8:00Speaker 4: but I'm like, yeah, but Pickard was there as well,
- 8:02Speaker 4: and Pickard bailed them all. Well, if it wasn't for Picker,
- 8:05Speaker 4: they would have been out of the playoffs two years
- 8:07Speaker 4: in a row. So it's tough to kind of measure that,
- 8:11Speaker 4: and you know, make sure you don't look at that
- 8:15Speaker 4: through rose colored glasses. So I think I do believe
- 8:18Speaker 4: that Tristan Jarr is a slight upgrade. Now can he
- 8:22Speaker 4: stay healthy, I don't know. But the scary part of this.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Is the the.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Future of Connor McDavid rests firmly in the hands of
- 8:31Speaker 4: Tristan Jarry.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and Calvin Pickard.
- 8:33Speaker 4: That that is where we're at right now, because a
- 8:37Speaker 4: lot of people were kind of like scratching their head
- 8:39Speaker 4: at the move just because you know you're going You
- 8:43Speaker 4: waited this long, and there was obviously rumblings for years
- 8:47Speaker 4: now for Stuart Skinner to be moved, but you.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Waited this long for this trade. So time will tell.
- 8:52Speaker 4: I mean, he's two and zero, you know, is sub
- 8:55Speaker 4: nine hundred save percentage though, and it hasn't been he
- 8:58Speaker 4: hasn't been stellar, but Edmonton's been playing a lot better.
- 9:01Speaker 4: And that here's the thing is that when Edmonton's playing
- 9:03Speaker 4: better hot game, they're scoring at will. I mean, you
- 9:07Speaker 4: really just need a goalie to be We've said it
- 9:09Speaker 4: for years. You need marginal goaltending from the Edmonnton Oilers
- 9:12Speaker 4: and they can kind of outscore their problem. So with
- 9:14Speaker 4: Connor and Leon and how hot those two are right now,
- 9:17Speaker 4: but yeah, I just think it's going to be. This
- 9:20Speaker 4: is TikTok TikTok for Stan Bowman and the group. So
- 9:23Speaker 4: I think they can't be idle the rest of the way.
- 9:26Speaker 4: I think they got to go make another trade, get
- 9:27Speaker 4: a defenseman, but they got Spencer's dasiny. But I don't
- 9:31Speaker 4: know if that's a band aid over a situation that's
- 9:34Speaker 4: kind of a decoor that leaks a little bit of oil.
- 9:37Speaker 4: But I just think it's more personnel, and it's nothing
- 9:39Speaker 4: against those guys are good players, but you need another guy.
- 9:42Speaker 2: You need a top four quality defenseman.
- 9:46Speaker 1: And as you said, from Edmonton's perspective, they hope it's
- 9:48Speaker 1: at least a marginal upgrade from Pittsburgh's perspective. They blew
- 9:51Speaker 1: a five to one third period lead at home Saturday
- 9:54Speaker 1: night against your Sharks, who beat them six five and
- 9:56Speaker 1: o t next night, blew a three nothing third period
- 9:58Speaker 1: lead against a really mammoth and lost five for and overtime.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Skinner didn't play either game. Your boy archer, she Lovs
- 10:05Speaker 1: and cerkee Mrshov got the stars. Skinner and Dry went
- 10:07Speaker 1: head to have new teams Tuesday night. As were recording
- 10:09Speaker 1: this Wednesday, Edmonton wins at six to four. This is
- 10:12Speaker 1: a Pittsburgh team JD which has been a pleasant surprise
- 10:14Speaker 1: contending for a playoff spot, but now golden he.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Might doom them.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Yeah, well, they they have three goalies that I think
- 10:22Speaker 4: they have to make a move another one they I
- 10:25Speaker 4: think there was rumblings that they're gonna flip. They could
- 10:27Speaker 4: flip Skinner and they could flip Kulak if they wanted to.
- 10:31Speaker 4: It wasn't a great start by either one of them.
- 10:33Speaker 4: But I mean, I think Skinner was left out to
- 10:35Speaker 4: dry a little bit. I tweeted, wouldn't it be funny
- 10:39Speaker 4: if Skinner gets a shutout? And then immediately when I
- 10:42Speaker 4: tweeted that, the Pittsburgh Penguins took three consecutive penalties and
- 10:46Speaker 4: it was like a four minute five on three, it
- 10:48Speaker 4: was like, well, there's that, and then it was you know,
- 10:50Speaker 4: they just filled the net. But yeah, I think it's,
- 10:53Speaker 4: you know, you just kind of they've lost a little
- 10:56Speaker 4: bit of steam. I think they're not playing the same
- 10:58Speaker 4: way they did. You know, a couple injuries here and
- 11:01Speaker 4: there to some guys and they're just playing a little
- 11:04Speaker 4: It was their power play that was kind of carrying
- 11:06Speaker 4: them early in the season has not done so recently,
- 11:09Speaker 4: and it's been a little bit. Even though it's in
- 11:10Speaker 4: the top of the league, it's it's it's kind of
- 11:13Speaker 4: let them down a little bit. But they've kind of
- 11:15Speaker 4: built such a great cushion, So we'll see kind of
- 11:17Speaker 4: where they can go from here. But this it's it's
- 11:20Speaker 4: dire straits for them, and it's uh. I do think
- 11:24Speaker 4: a she Lovs or a Skinner could be on the
- 11:26Speaker 4: move again, and then they'll give the net to Mirshov,
- 11:29Speaker 4: who you know, he was a little bit shaky his
- 11:32Speaker 4: last game, but the young guy that you got to
- 11:34Speaker 4: kind of give some time to. So the interesting moment
- 11:36Speaker 4: for Dubis they got there, they're kind of in this
- 11:38Speaker 4: weird limbo purgatory that he's got to figure out a way.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Either they're buying or they're they're selling, and it's it's
- 11:44Speaker 4: rebuilt time. So but I don't know if you can
- 11:46Speaker 4: with with Sid the kid, if you can rebuild ever.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean if you have three goalies, you have
- 11:51Speaker 3: no goalies.
- 11:51Speaker 1: I know the way the world is now, it's a
- 11:53Speaker 1: two goalie system, but three definitely is a crowd right now,
- 11:55Speaker 1: so they'll need to figure that out. Meantime, a guy
- 11:57Speaker 1: who's had a blazing start two months into a breakout season.
- 12:02Speaker 2: So I didn't even notice haircut, I did. Yeah, I
- 12:05Speaker 2: gotta hear great, it looks fantastic.
- 12:08Speaker 4: Thank you, buddy, appreciate I apologies for not noticing that
- 12:10Speaker 4: you great.
- 12:12Speaker 2: You look like Chris Chillios.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Now, well, I have a story about that now that
- 12:18Speaker 3: you brought it up.
- 12:18Speaker 1: In Buffalo last week, it was known intermission break, some
- 12:22Speaker 1: me yelling out Chlie Kelley.
- 12:24Speaker 3: I go over. I'm like, I guess, how you doing?
- 12:26Speaker 3: My good? Good to see you. I guess Craig Muni.
- 12:28Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, Craig, how you been. Good to see it?
- 12:32Speaker 1: Because remember my wife like, yeah, nice to see you again.
- 12:34Speaker 1: No girl looks on maybe a granddaughter my kind I
- 12:37Speaker 1: see because my brother I do man nice beeech is
- 12:38Speaker 1: a guy because I've been in my great great because
- 12:40Speaker 1: where you're living.
- 12:40Speaker 3: I go Hermosa Beach.
- 12:41Speaker 1: He's a great great have been good about Tracy's great,
- 12:44Speaker 1: Kelly's doing really well.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Is awesome. He's like, you look great, man, Thanks, how
- 12:47Speaker 3: about you in the area? Great cool, It's awesome.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I started talking to the little girl make you big
- 12:50Speaker 1: tast Thompson fan I was talking to earlier.
- 12:52Speaker 3: He's great. He's like, yeah. The brother in law goes man,
- 12:54Speaker 3: you're an unbelievable player.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I got no thanks. I appreciate it, and I definitely
- 12:57Speaker 1: have my moments. But now, no, you don't worry.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Buffalo's coming around. Tase Thompson's great.
- 13:00Speaker 1: He's like, yeah, he goes, great, Senior Kelley, I'm like,
- 13:02Speaker 1: you got it, buddy, Craig hook line sinker as you
- 13:06Speaker 1: can ask Chris.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Barter's on the floor.
- 13:08Speaker 1: He's like, he goes, she goes Craig and he played
- 13:11Speaker 1: with Celios. He goes, they were they were defense bearing
- 13:14Speaker 1: in Chicago.
- 13:15Speaker 4: They played together, and he recognized you as Chris Chilios.
- 13:20Speaker 4: That is fucking insane a time. That is so funny,
- 13:27Speaker 4: and you played it right. You played him like a
- 13:28Speaker 4: fiddle fiddler on the roof.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Like Jody Shelley was appalled. He's like, what it was
- 13:33Speaker 1: the gumption on you for he thought I was Jellios?
- 13:35Speaker 1: So I just played along. He goes Hermosa Beach, Tracy,
- 13:39Speaker 1: all that is accurate?
- 13:40Speaker 3: Word?
- 13:42Speaker 2: Can you go to prison for that? Impersonating Chris Chilios
- 13:46Speaker 2: John Shannon.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Then we see later on he goes, I just saw
- 13:49Speaker 1: Craig muny I so to I ask him about seeing
- 13:51Speaker 1: Chris Chellios Craig the whole story.
- 13:54Speaker 2: He goes, what the hell is Chris Chillio is doing
- 13:55Speaker 2: to Winnipeg, right, now.
- 13:57Speaker 1: The only giveaway after I realized JD that wasn't me
- 14:00Speaker 1: is I called him Craig. Nobody ever, ever the issue
- 14:04Speaker 1: the world hockey players ever called him by a first name.
- 14:06Speaker 1: If there's somebody that you saw, they would never say hey, Jason,
- 14:08Speaker 1: always Bejunich.
- 14:10Speaker 2: But it was a bit.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I would should have said Munes.
- 14:12Speaker 1: But I mean in the moment, I just say, oh, Craig,
- 14:14Speaker 1: like I think later I dropped a Craiger to kind
- 14:16Speaker 1: of make it sound like I knew.
- 14:17Speaker 3: A little more.
- 14:18Speaker 4: That is so good all off asking you how your
- 14:20Speaker 4: haircut is? You leave with that story to start the show.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Well, I don't want to get around too much, like
- 14:26Speaker 1: it's already getting around. Like Jody Shelley went and told
- 14:28Speaker 1: everybody at TNT like I saw John Davidson of the
- 14:30Speaker 1: Columbus Blue Jacks.
- 14:31Speaker 3: He goes, hey, I heard Craig Muni bran In you
- 14:33Speaker 3: thinks you're christ Jell.
- 14:34Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 14:35Speaker 4: I gotta we gotta, we gotta get Chris Chillius in
- 14:39Speaker 4: the podcast at best on five eight jelious is at
- 14:44Speaker 4: least five eleven.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Imagine j D, you saw a guy that you played
- 14:47Speaker 1: and go, hey, did you shrink three.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Inches at best, you're five six.
- 14:51Speaker 3: No, five seven in a quarter.
- 14:54Speaker 2: We're dropping down now.
- 14:55Speaker 3: I saw it. I said it was five.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Eight, and then Hickey, no, let's listen, because you're staying
- 15:00Speaker 1: five six.
- 15:00Speaker 2: That's bullshit.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I'm doing the exact.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Number because I see five eight, and Hickey goes, you're
- 15:03Speaker 1: not five I go, all right, five seven in a quarter.
- 15:06Speaker 2: I don't know they stack shit that high.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Celios is listed at five to eleven.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Again, I've worked with them. I'm gonna say it's five
- 15:13Speaker 1: to ten and a half. I talked about three inch different.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I imagine you worked with twenty years ago and three
- 15:18Speaker 1: inches short, and you go.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Hey, you've been a few shrug three inches that's age.
- 15:23Speaker 2: He's probably like age. You know you've trained crazy? All right?
- 15:28Speaker 2: That is not That is a great story. Clearly clipped that.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I can't.
- 15:32Speaker 4: I can't post another Chris Chelio say then berg story
- 15:35Speaker 4: on my Instagram. Very inundated with whatever the NHL cuts.
- 15:41Speaker 3: How but you've been doing it yourself though last couple
- 15:43Speaker 3: of weeks we've been.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I run the social media account. I'm an I'm
- 15:49Speaker 4: an unpaid intern.
- 15:52Speaker 2: This is what it's come to.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Episode sixty.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Is this one's coming for the Blackhawks, one of Chris
- 15:57Speaker 1: Chelliy's former teams. Two months into a breakout season nineteen goals,
- 16:01Speaker 1: forty four points thirty one games, but dard On injured
- 16:04Speaker 1: reserve upper body injury until the new year. A freak injury. Jude,
- 16:08Speaker 1: You're watching Hunts going, what the hell does happened? Literally
- 16:13Speaker 1: seconds left off the draw. The Blackhawks now in jeopardy.
- 16:16Speaker 1: They lost in Detroit four nothing Saturday night, the first
- 16:18Speaker 1: game with Uppa dard three to in Toronto on Tuesday.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Quinn Hughes, as we talked about, so now in Minnesota.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Connor hell Bucks back of the Jets after injury. He
- 16:26Speaker 1: came back rather quickly, although they went three eight and
- 16:29Speaker 1: one and twelve games without him. Now the Blackhawks in
- 16:31Speaker 1: the stack central could be done. What a terrible injury,
- 16:34Speaker 1: terrible moment for Connor Bedard.
- 16:36Speaker 4: And then a terrible loss last night to Toronto. They
- 16:39Speaker 4: were leading that whole game, They're leading the whole game
- 16:43Speaker 4: and then they just turn over to Austin and then
- 16:47Speaker 4: just what was it like sixty seconds later they give
- 16:51Speaker 4: one up to Joshua in front of the nets. So
- 16:53Speaker 4: that one was a heartbreaker, and I thought they played
- 16:55Speaker 4: a good game against Toronto. But yeah, I time will
- 16:58Speaker 4: tell you know, a separated shoulder. We're hearing from from
- 17:01Speaker 4: Kevin Weeks. That's what he said, separated shoulder. So you
- 17:05Speaker 4: know it's it's that's a tough balance and that happens
- 17:07Speaker 4: a lot with the centerman. You know that it's a
- 17:09Speaker 4: lot of torque on your body within those face offs
- 17:11Speaker 4: and you're in vulnerable positions. You know, you've seen I've
- 17:14Speaker 4: seen a lot of injuries like that, especially recently. You
- 17:16Speaker 4: know the Josh Norris that there's a couple of them
- 17:18Speaker 4: where you know there's a little bit of jostling at
- 17:20Speaker 4: the at the at the drop of the puck and
- 17:23Speaker 4: you're in this weird position kind of hunched over and
- 17:26Speaker 4: you just saw his shoulder just kind of get jammed.
- 17:28Speaker 4: And yeah, it's tough because you know this is this
- 17:32Speaker 4: has been the guy that's led them just you want
- 17:34Speaker 4: to say breakout season, but you know, even though it's
- 17:36Speaker 4: just thirty in the late but it's a breakout season.
- 17:38Speaker 4: I thought he's played fantastic. He's been great, huge consideration
- 17:42Speaker 4: for Team Cannon. I do I think they still bring him.
- 17:45Speaker 4: I still think if he's healthy, you bring him. If
- 17:47Speaker 4: they use this as a way to not bring him,
- 17:49Speaker 4: I think I'd be a little bit disappointed. I think
- 17:51Speaker 4: he's earned to at least be like the thirteenth forward
- 17:54Speaker 4: or or you find a place from the play, just
- 17:56Speaker 4: because how dynamic he's been and how good he's been offensively.
- 17:59Speaker 4: I think putting him with even better players would be
- 18:01Speaker 4: something that's really good for this. For this, you know,
- 18:04Speaker 4: Team Canada, team that has just a wealth of talent
- 18:09Speaker 4: right now that they have to pick from it all.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Everybody seems to be playing good on Team Canada versus
- 18:13Speaker 4: Team USA.
- 18:14Speaker 2: You see some guys struggling. But anyway, I.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Think it's time will tell. It's gonna be the Jets
- 18:19Speaker 4: kind of have the door open for them a little bit,
- 18:21Speaker 4: so we'll see if they can kind of claw their
- 18:23Speaker 4: way back in. And it's the central is not the central.
- 18:27Speaker 4: But when you actually look at the Western standings, I
- 18:30Speaker 4: mean they're not It's not like crazy, it's not a
- 18:34Speaker 4: huge difference, you know what I mean, Like there's some
- 18:35Speaker 4: teams that can claw their way back in. You know,
- 18:38Speaker 4: obviously the Sharks with an absolute enormous win last game,
- 18:41Speaker 4: and they're trending in the right direction.
- 18:43Speaker 2: But you got Utah and you got the Jets.
- 18:45Speaker 4: I mean, some teams need to go on a run here,
- 18:47Speaker 4: but I I think, I don't think, and never had
- 18:52Speaker 4: Chicago making the playoffs, and this just will kind of
- 18:54Speaker 4: put the nail on the coffin a.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Team that nobody had making the playoffs but decides to
- 18:58Speaker 1: make a move. Buffalo Sabers Yarmo Kkalinen is the first
- 19:02Speaker 1: GM the Savers have hired to that position with previous
- 19:05Speaker 1: NHL GM experience since they hired Scotty Bowman in nineteen
- 19:09Speaker 1: seventy nine.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Let that sink in.
- 19:11Speaker 1: That's forty six years without ever trying a general manager
- 19:15Speaker 1: that had done the job before.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Do you have any experience? No, you're hired forty six years.
- 19:20Speaker 3: It took for them to go. You know what, Let's
- 19:21Speaker 3: get some who's actually done this before.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Kevin Adams is out, Kaka Lin's in, Lindy Rough's days
- 19:26Speaker 1: are numbered, he'll get kicked upstairs.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Another change for the Buffalo Sabers JD.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Brutal, Yeah, Lindy at home, Rough on the road, Lindy
- 19:34Speaker 4: ruffles of Chiff, Yeah, I think you know it was
- 19:41Speaker 4: the stats on Terry Pegula since he's been an owner.
- 19:44Speaker 4: There are absolutely gru sagrig how porous it's been, like
- 19:50Speaker 4: how bad it's been.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Terry needs to just let go of the wheel. Here,
- 19:54Speaker 2: hire me, I'll go there, Bring me there. We'll make
- 19:57Speaker 2: the hard decisions.
- 19:58Speaker 1: But you're gonna be the president of hockey Operations overseeing
- 20:01Speaker 1: right now.
- 20:02Speaker 4: To Kevin Adams, I'll go No. I like, I like
- 20:06Speaker 4: kick a line, and I think he's he's a no guff.
- 20:09Speaker 4: He did some he did a good job in Columbus
- 20:11Speaker 4: kind of getting that team going and making some big
- 20:14Speaker 4: moves and making some some some hard decisions.
- 20:17Speaker 2: So I think he's.
- 20:19Speaker 4: He's the guy that it's They said it was a
- 20:21Speaker 4: long process. Now can he finally turn around the Buffalo Sabers.
- 20:24Speaker 4: The poor Buffalo Sabers fans that are just some of
- 20:27Speaker 4: the best fans in hockey. They're just sticking around and
- 20:29Speaker 4: they get pissed on, shit on, slapped in the face,
- 20:34Speaker 4: and they just keep coming, keep paying their money for
- 20:36Speaker 4: their tickets. Are they finally going to get something? So
- 20:39Speaker 4: I think Lindy's on the move. I think there's gonna
- 20:41Speaker 4: be some big changes. I think Yarma will kind of
- 20:43Speaker 4: take is he gonna take the season or do you
- 20:47Speaker 4: think more he was able to see enough in watch
- 20:52Speaker 4: enough because he knew he was getting the job for
- 20:54Speaker 4: a while to then kind of correct.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I think that high senior advisor in May. So he's
- 20:58Speaker 1: had almost eight months. Now, I go, okay, I can't
- 21:01Speaker 1: see what's going on here. The Sabers have won three
- 21:03Speaker 1: in a row, fourteen year off route.
- 21:05Speaker 3: He's not taking the season. If he can make some moves,
- 21:06Speaker 3: he'll do it now.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Perfect time, right now. You get on a three three
- 21:10Speaker 4: game winning streak, you come on in, Come on, Ova,
- 21:14Speaker 4: Come on Nova. I mean, there are only six points
- 21:16Speaker 4: out of a playoff spot with the game in hand.
- 21:20Speaker 4: So needless to say, are the Sabers making the playoffs?
- 21:26Speaker 5: No?
- 21:26Speaker 1: There, but I'm glad they're making the change because he
- 21:28Speaker 1: almost seems like you said, a least he's a track record.
- 21:30Speaker 4: He said he's gonna trade. He said he's got a
- 21:32Speaker 4: trade one goalie, which I liked. He's like they have
- 21:34Speaker 4: this three goalie system there.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Yeah, back to the three goalies.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Insane, I asked Marty, it's awfully, who the hell likes
- 21:39Speaker 1: a three goalie system? Bold strategy Cotton, Yeah, no, doubt
- 21:43Speaker 1: about it all right, Still they come here in NHL unscripted,
- 21:45Speaker 1: we'll talk to William Ecklund of the surprising San Jose Sharks,
- 21:49Speaker 1: talk about Willie's journey in hockey and what San Jose
- 21:52Speaker 1: is up to. It's coming up next right after this.
- 21:54Speaker 1: You're an NHL unscripted So our next guest drafted seventh
- 22:12Speaker 1: Overbrall but the San Jose Sharks in the twenty twenty
- 22:14Speaker 1: one NHL draft. Last season, he enjoyed a breakout campaign
- 22:18Speaker 1: with the Sharks, atting new career highs and goals, assists,
- 22:20Speaker 1: and points, and he's now a core piece on one
- 22:23Speaker 1: of the most exciting young teams in the NHL.
- 22:25Speaker 3: And is William E. William Welcome on the scripted.
- 22:27Speaker 5: Great to see it, man, Thank you, thank you very much.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Anytime we can.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Get some Sharks lons of good news for me and
- 22:33Speaker 1: JD and the Sharks have taken a big step this year.
- 22:35Speaker 1: How do you describe the energy in the room right
- 22:37Speaker 1: now as you guys are pushing for a playoff spot.
- 22:40Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean he's so much better than the years prior.
- 22:42Speaker 6: I feel like, you know, our whole team has been
- 22:45Speaker 6: been way more involved than we've been you know, we've
- 22:48Speaker 6: been enjoined us a lot. So yeah, it's been fun
- 22:50Speaker 6: for sure.
- 22:51Speaker 2: What was the expectation, Willie?
- 22:53Speaker 4: Obviously like and you know, you can be honest because
- 22:56Speaker 4: you know, for me working in media, like our expectation
- 22:59Speaker 4: for you guys was was not to be last, but
- 23:01Speaker 4: like certainly not to be where you're at. So like,
- 23:04Speaker 4: how you know, what's been the conversations in the room
- 23:07Speaker 4: now that you guys are you know, now in a
- 23:10Speaker 4: playoff spot and now do you feel like the expectations
- 23:13Speaker 4: have now shifted?
- 23:16Speaker 6: I mean, I don't think we listened too much to
- 23:18Speaker 6: do the media and what woul the guys outside say.
- 23:22Speaker 6: I feel like that's something that's been strong for the
- 23:24Speaker 6: last couple of years.
- 23:25Speaker 2: You know.
- 23:26Speaker 6: Obviously maybe we didn't expect this either from from the outside,
- 23:30Speaker 6: but you know, our core group, we were expecting big
- 23:33Speaker 6: things out of us, you know, and obviously you have
- 23:36Speaker 6: a lot of guys that's been taking big steps this year.
- 23:38Speaker 5: I think that that's been helping a lot obviously.
- 23:40Speaker 6: So I think you know, throughout the rosters we we've
- 23:43Speaker 6: been we've been doing a really good job.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, the expectations it's always tricky because I'm
- 23:48Speaker 1: sure you guys believe in yourselves and you hear what
- 23:50Speaker 1: outside noise is. But you know, as far as the playoffs,
- 23:53Speaker 1: is that a goal that was discussed by coaching by
- 23:55Speaker 1: the players.
- 23:58Speaker 6: I like that, you know, on point, Like I think,
- 24:01Speaker 6: like you know, in our heads. I feel like even
- 24:05Speaker 6: in training camp, we had a really good team, and
- 24:08Speaker 6: I feel like every game we even those first game
- 24:10Speaker 6: we lost and we were like, you know this, this
- 24:14Speaker 6: doesn't matter. We can still turn this wrong because I
- 24:17Speaker 6: feel like we have a really strong way of coming
- 24:19Speaker 6: back in games and and and then you know this
- 24:21Speaker 6: year and finishing off more games that we didn't do
- 24:24Speaker 6: last year.
- 24:24Speaker 5: I think that's something that's been helping us a lot
- 24:26Speaker 5: this year.
- 24:27Speaker 4: I remember in training camp I kind of was looking
- 24:30Speaker 4: at the roster and I texted to Fole, I texted Tough,
- 24:32Speaker 4: and I was like, I was like, it's kind of
- 24:34Speaker 4: a sneaky roster. Like the guys start, they played their
- 24:38Speaker 4: kind of capabilities. But you know, you got a good
- 24:40Speaker 4: mix of veterans now and you're kind of getting on
- 24:43Speaker 4: that cusp of being a veteran. But for you, like,
- 24:46Speaker 4: who's the guy that when they speak in the room.
- 24:48Speaker 4: It's like they're the locker room dad. Everybody shuts up
- 24:51Speaker 4: and listens.
- 24:52Speaker 5: I think, you know, I think Ree West does that.
- 24:55Speaker 5: Re Wal.
- 24:56Speaker 6: You know, he's been in he's very vocal in that way,
- 24:59Speaker 6: and then when he's he's talking, everybody's you know, quiet,
- 25:02Speaker 6: I feel like, and they listen because he's really good
- 25:05Speaker 6: at that. You know, obviously you're not going to have
- 25:07Speaker 6: your your A game every game. It's got to be
- 25:09Speaker 6: a lot of ups and downstairs to season after those games.
- 25:12Speaker 6: He's been really like honest with us, and we've been
- 25:15Speaker 6: honest with the shot her, like, you know, we can't
- 25:17Speaker 6: have you no three to four games of these.
- 25:20Speaker 5: You have one of these and then it's gonna be
- 25:22Speaker 5: gonna be one off. You know, you got to.
- 25:23Speaker 6: Get back to what you're doing. And that's something that
- 25:26Speaker 6: I think he's brought in a lot.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it's important to have kind of everybody on the
- 25:30Speaker 1: same page and kind of rolling in the same direction.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I think what's always tricky to William is just that,
- 25:35Speaker 1: you know, in terms of this team overall, I mean
- 25:38Speaker 1: that the comebacks have been pretty special. I mean, you're
- 25:41Speaker 1: down five to one third in Pittsburgh doing six to
- 25:44Speaker 1: five in overtime and you set up John Klingber's goal
- 25:47Speaker 1: to start the comeback score to make it five three.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Where do you rank that feeling when you win a
- 25:51Speaker 3: game like that.
- 25:54Speaker 6: I mean, that's probably the craziest game I've been a
- 25:56Speaker 6: part of in that matter of fact, Like it's it's
- 25:59Speaker 6: just crazy when you're down five to one and in
- 26:01Speaker 6: the third period, I mean you said, don't know, just
- 26:04Speaker 6: turn it on somehow. We were just putting pucked in the
- 26:07Speaker 6: net and just around the net, and you know, six
- 26:10Speaker 6: and five everything can happen. You know, obviously they missed
- 26:12Speaker 6: that up at empton every putting on the post, and
- 26:16Speaker 6: you know that's what you felt.
- 26:17Speaker 5: Like, Yeah, we kind of got a shot here. So yeah,
- 26:19Speaker 5: amazing feeling.
- 26:21Speaker 4: I talk a little bit about John Klingberg because you know,
- 26:25Speaker 4: Clay I played with Klinger in Dallas and and I
- 26:27Speaker 4: know he's got you know, the hips and really struggled
- 26:30Speaker 4: with some injury stuff, and you know, he was really
- 26:32Speaker 4: honest in an interview recently about like his struggles mentally
- 26:35Speaker 4: a little bit and physically, and since then he's been
- 26:38Speaker 4: you know, eight points in like five games. Like how
- 26:40Speaker 4: how has it been to have a d man like
- 26:42Speaker 4: him that can walk the point and especially in the
- 26:44Speaker 4: power play.
- 26:47Speaker 5: You know, Claire is first of all, is a great guy.
- 26:50Speaker 5: You know, after that, the best guy ever.
- 26:53Speaker 6: And you know, I didn't know him before this year,
- 26:55Speaker 6: but obviously being great guy and on the ice, you
- 26:59Speaker 6: can just see how how skill he is and how
- 27:01Speaker 6: skilled had been in this league for a long time,
- 27:04Speaker 6: and the things that he's done.
- 27:06Speaker 5: He's such a good player.
- 27:08Speaker 6: Didn't break up passes as just end up being like
- 27:10Speaker 6: a two and one or a three on two like
- 27:12Speaker 6: he he just makes those breakup passes looks so easy.
- 27:15Speaker 6: And you know, obviously it's been rolling a lot lately
- 27:18Speaker 6: and that's something that helps our team a lot.
- 27:21Speaker 1: You your father, Christian, brother Victor all played for the
- 27:24Speaker 1: Historic and Jerk Gardens team excuse me, in Sweden. The
- 27:28Speaker 1: team has been around for more than a century. What
- 27:30Speaker 1: is that fan base? Like we were talking on offer
- 27:32Speaker 1: and being from Stockholm, it's a beautiful city obviously, but
- 27:35Speaker 1: playing for that club specifically, it's been a family affair
- 27:37Speaker 1: for you.
- 27:40Speaker 5: Yeah, that's you know, it's a huge thing.
- 27:42Speaker 2: You know.
- 27:43Speaker 5: Obviously my dad played it for thirteen fourteen years.
- 27:46Speaker 6: And I play there and then my brother's playing there,
- 27:49Speaker 6: so's it's really cool experience. I mean, it means a
- 27:52Speaker 6: lot for my family, and you know, that's so much
- 27:56Speaker 6: passion from that fan base, likes it's crazy. Some of
- 28:00Speaker 6: those games, like it's always packed and they screamed the
- 28:03Speaker 6: whole game, and it's like it's like going to a
- 28:06Speaker 6: soccer game in Europe, like it's it's insane, like he
- 28:11Speaker 6: sometimes it's you.
- 28:12Speaker 5: Don't hear yourself even talking to night, So it's crazy.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Do you have a crazy fan experience from playing out there.
- 28:19Speaker 6: I mean, like my first my first game, I think
- 28:24Speaker 6: I played with jache of Josepson and he played with
- 28:28Speaker 6: my dad too, so it was like that was my
- 28:31Speaker 6: first game up there, and that was like the first
- 28:35Speaker 6: game I played and I was like I had my
- 28:37Speaker 6: cage on. I was sixteen seventeen. I was like, shit,
- 28:39Speaker 6: this is this is sick and it was Patrick Berlan
- 28:43Speaker 6: was on the team too, and a couple of those guys.
- 28:46Speaker 5: So that was my first game.
- 28:48Speaker 6: That experience was just packed all game and we ended
- 28:51Speaker 6: up winning that game three two.
- 28:52Speaker 5: But you know, just being in that moment.
- 28:55Speaker 6: It's so crazy, how like how how passionate they are
- 29:00Speaker 6: every day.
- 29:02Speaker 3: How disappointing, Ah is it for the Sharks? Was traded
- 29:04Speaker 3: Fabian Settle and knowing you wouldn't be.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Able to play Fortnite with him as often, did you
- 29:08Speaker 1: find somebody else to play that wonderful game with.
- 29:11Speaker 6: Yeah, it's you know, I mean more more more a FIFA.
- 29:15Speaker 6: I mean we play like because he's not out of us.
- 29:17Speaker 6: We play a little once in a while.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Yeah, he's not gone, he's yeah, don't worry.
- 29:24Speaker 2: And then and that doesn't know what a computer is, so.
- 29:28Speaker 3: He's not gone from the world. He's just gone for
- 29:29Speaker 3: the team.
- 29:30Speaker 6: Go ahead, Yeah, so you still play about me? Me
- 29:34Speaker 6: and him and russemus Sandine used to play a lot
- 29:36Speaker 6: of nhallow FIFA.
- 29:38Speaker 4: So yeah, who's the who's the biggest nube in those games?
- 29:42Speaker 5: I don't know if I should say that. No, it's
- 29:47Speaker 5: sometimes it depends on the day he's having a good
- 29:49Speaker 5: day or not. But give it to sets.
- 29:52Speaker 4: You gotta give it to SATs, have to have to
- 29:56Speaker 4: give it to him. Listen, man, we gotta you know
- 29:59Speaker 4: talking about I. I got to cover you last year.
- 30:03Speaker 4: I'll be there in March all sort of do a
- 30:04Speaker 4: couple of games for you guys. Uh and I love
- 30:07Speaker 4: watching your your your game and how it's evolved over
- 30:10Speaker 4: time and how you've added little elements of like defense
- 30:13Speaker 4: and you know, the penalty kill has always been something
- 30:15Speaker 4: you're great at, and I you're a great net ferunk
- 30:17Speaker 4: guy in the power play as well, So like, is
- 30:19Speaker 4: that something that you know with conversations you had with
- 30:21Speaker 4: coach Worsowski or is it just something that you've wanted
- 30:24Speaker 4: to be you know, obviously we all want to play
- 30:27Speaker 4: twenty five minutes a night and stuff like that, but
- 30:28Speaker 4: it was something that you really worked on and focused
- 30:30Speaker 4: on in the off season to kind of keep getting
- 30:32Speaker 4: better and better in all these different situations.
- 30:36Speaker 5: I mean, it's just so many different things that you
- 30:38Speaker 5: want to get better at.
- 30:39Speaker 6: And but also like after a while when you figure
- 30:43Speaker 6: out how the league works, you also like you have
- 30:45Speaker 6: your especially like what you're good at. Yeah, the stuff
- 30:49Speaker 6: you have to be really good at. That's something that
- 30:51Speaker 6: I think, like, I know my skating is good, like
- 30:54Speaker 6: and you know my edge work and how that works,
- 30:58Speaker 6: but I need to be really good at that because
- 31:00Speaker 6: that's my game. So that's something like I've.
- 31:02Speaker 5: Been focusing on, like, Okay, how can I even it
- 31:04Speaker 5: even better? At this?
- 31:05Speaker 6: And you know, my shot has in my opinions, has
- 31:09Speaker 6: to be better. But especially in my the things you
- 31:12Speaker 6: have you have to be even better at. So that's
- 31:15Speaker 6: something that I'm but always trying to get into myself
- 31:18Speaker 6: that like, help you get an even better player?
- 31:21Speaker 2: Well it's getting you.
- 31:22Speaker 4: It's getting you a lot of notice from a lot
- 31:25Speaker 4: of people, and you know a lot of people kind
- 31:27Speaker 4: of have you penciled on the Sweden's Olympic roster for
- 31:31Speaker 4: upcoming winning Olympics, which I'll be at as well, So
- 31:33Speaker 4: I'm gonna have to come to the Swedish house. As
- 31:36Speaker 4: you can see, you got a little bit of in
- 31:38Speaker 4: Canada swag back. But is that something that's you know,
- 31:42Speaker 4: on your mind And is it tough to kind of
- 31:44Speaker 4: focus on the season when you have that kind of
- 31:47Speaker 4: kind of hanging around and the possibility that you'll be there.
- 31:51Speaker 6: Yeah, it's you know, obviously it's something I can't really
- 31:57Speaker 6: control that much. You can only do the things that
- 31:59Speaker 6: you do here every day.
- 32:01Speaker 5: And I've been trying.
- 32:02Speaker 6: You know, obviously it's you wouldn't be there so bad
- 32:04Speaker 6: you want to play for your country. That's you know,
- 32:07Speaker 6: I've been really unlucky with that stuff. You know, throughout
- 32:10Speaker 6: the years, I'm injured and stuff like that. So I
- 32:13Speaker 6: really want to play for my country and really want
- 32:15Speaker 6: to want to do that, but also I need to
- 32:17Speaker 6: focus on our team and and myself. I can be
- 32:20Speaker 6: a better player, and I think that's something that you
- 32:23Speaker 6: know they see too, So let me sure do my
- 32:25Speaker 6: game well.
- 32:27Speaker 1: One guy who hopes to be there for Team Canada
- 32:28Speaker 1: is Macklin Cell Brainy, your teammate.
- 32:30Speaker 3: He's having an unbelievable season.
- 32:32Speaker 1: William, What can you tell us about Cell Brandy that
- 32:34Speaker 1: the average fan doesn't realize.
- 32:37Speaker 5: There's a lot of things you could say.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Mac.
- 32:39Speaker 6: You know, he's an idiot, it's funny, he's you know,
- 32:45Speaker 6: he's a really good guy. You know outside of the
- 32:46Speaker 6: ring too, he's it's really professional too.
- 32:50Speaker 5: He you know, he doesn't he doesn't.
- 32:53Speaker 6: Really get tired either, and like in the game you
- 32:56Speaker 6: can see he's just going, going, going. I don't think
- 33:00Speaker 6: he's he's ever getting tired. And that's something that really
- 33:02Speaker 6: impressed me, Like how much of him moder this guy
- 33:05Speaker 6: has like throughout even on defense or or offense. Like
- 33:10Speaker 6: obviously a skill we all know about his skill, but
- 33:12Speaker 6: this guy, he drives it every every night.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Is that because he's just dominating Mike Potenza and he's
- 33:19Speaker 4: making Mike pretend to just work him out every day
- 33:22Speaker 4: of the strength out for this.
- 33:23Speaker 5: Has to be you know, he's on the table every day, so.
- 33:26Speaker 2: He leads the league and table.
- 33:28Speaker 4: I know Pazi kind of alluding man to do you
- 33:32Speaker 4: you know he's living with Jumbo and Tibeya. Did you
- 33:35Speaker 4: kind of see a little bit of Jumbo rubbing off
- 33:37Speaker 4: on him at all? And because I know he was,
- 33:39Speaker 4: you know he was, He's very professional, but you know
- 33:42Speaker 4: you see him kind of loosing it up a little
- 33:44Speaker 4: bit more and more.
- 33:45Speaker 6: Yeah, for sure, he's getting more and more vocal too,
- 33:48Speaker 6: and I think that's you know, obviously, like he's going
- 33:53Speaker 6: to be even more vocal than he's getting older and older.
- 33:56Speaker 6: But that's something that's he's the leader of this team.
- 33:59Speaker 6: He and he knows that too, and it's going to
- 34:01Speaker 6: be even better, you know, for the years to come,
- 34:03Speaker 6: and he's got to be even more and more vocal
- 34:05Speaker 6: when you confident with that. But that's something that he's
- 34:08Speaker 6: going to break to the game too.
- 34:11Speaker 7: I'll go ahead, Heywayiam, I was curious just with with
- 34:17Speaker 7: with Maclin celebrity. The thing I love about him that
- 34:19Speaker 7: he's had since day one in the NHL is that
- 34:21Speaker 7: obviously has a ton of skill, but he's got that
- 34:23Speaker 7: that edge, that nasty edge to his game. You know,
- 34:26Speaker 7: we also we all saw him going toe to toe
- 34:29Speaker 7: with the most cider a few weeks ago against Detroit.
- 34:32Speaker 7: Was that something he had right away when he got
- 34:34Speaker 7: to camp that you could tell that he had a
- 34:36Speaker 7: bit of a bit of that edge to his game.
- 34:39Speaker 6: Yeah, but he's he's playing a fair game, you know,
- 34:42Speaker 6: he's he's he's got an edge to his game. But
- 34:44Speaker 6: he's also like he's always competing, always being that guy.
- 34:47Speaker 5: So I feel like, you know, he's been that since
- 34:50Speaker 5: stay a month from camp.
- 34:51Speaker 6: He he really wanted to do to be that guy,
- 34:55Speaker 6: and he is that guy now. So like to be like,
- 34:59Speaker 6: you have to be into that those nast situations sometimes too,
- 35:03Speaker 6: and he's doing a terrific yeah with that too.
- 35:05Speaker 4: What uh, how is the relationship between I know everybody
- 35:09Speaker 4: asked questions about him and Smitty and Fresh Prints, but
- 35:13Speaker 4: how funny is that just to sit in the room
- 35:15Speaker 4: and shake your head at these guys the nonsense that
- 35:19Speaker 4: they do night in and night out.
- 35:21Speaker 6: Yeah, you hear something funny ship, so it's it's always fun.
- 35:27Speaker 3: You know.
- 35:28Speaker 5: They sit behind me on the plane too.
- 35:29Speaker 2: So it's, oh no, what did they kick in the seat?
- 35:33Speaker 6: Sometimes you know Smdia, I get Smitty has those he
- 35:39Speaker 6: now he's watching everything on his goggles, so.
- 35:42Speaker 5: He's not even watching an iPad anymore.
- 35:44Speaker 6: So like you just look back and this guy has
- 35:47Speaker 6: like goggle songs like watching us, like straight out of there.
- 35:50Speaker 6: You think he's like watching something, but he's just like
- 35:53Speaker 6: looking at his shows in the goggles.
- 35:55Speaker 4: Wait, he's watching like shows or a shift and in
- 35:58Speaker 4: those like watching shows and it.
- 36:00Speaker 5: Shows in the goggles, you know what. I like those.
- 36:03Speaker 5: So I was trying to I might get one of
- 36:05Speaker 5: these two because it looks nice.
- 36:06Speaker 6: Yeah, he's sitting like this, and it was like sometimes
- 36:08Speaker 6: I wonder if he's sleeping or not because he's just
- 36:10Speaker 6: sitting and.
- 36:11Speaker 5: Watching it like this.
- 36:13Speaker 2: What are those called? That those like the new those
- 36:15Speaker 2: new Apple.
- 36:16Speaker 6: No it's not not dose, but it's something else that
- 36:19Speaker 6: he mentioned to me. So it's like it looks like
- 36:22Speaker 6: regular like regular clasts pretty much.
- 36:25Speaker 5: But it's yeah, it's nice.
- 36:26Speaker 2: He's in twenty forty right now.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Sure, it's the way in the future for sure.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Well, William, this was great man, seriously, congrats and all
- 36:36Speaker 1: the success with the San Jose Sharks, and obviously because
- 36:39Speaker 1: of JD's ties to San Jose, were always plump for
- 36:41Speaker 1: the Sharks. But it's good to see the teal out
- 36:43Speaker 1: there fighting and obviously you're having a fantastic year.
- 36:45Speaker 3: So keep it going, man. Thanks for you giving us
- 36:47Speaker 3: some time.
- 36:47Speaker 5: Thank you very much, appreciate it.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Good luck, buddy, Thank you.
- 36:59Speaker 3: All right.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Cinephal sixty is hammn It The Oscar Race is shaping
- 37:02Speaker 1: up to be a two horse race, all Thomas Anderson's
- 37:05Speaker 1: one battle after another against Chloe Joao's Hamnet. It got
- 37:08Speaker 1: huge reviews, especially when the premiere of the Toronto Film Festival.
- 37:12Speaker 1: It's now available in theater's Golden Globe nomination. Since came out,
- 37:15Speaker 1: Hamnet dominating. I've got Jesse Buckley winning Best Actress and
- 37:18Speaker 1: Chloe Jo's gonna be up for Best Director.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Maybe it wins Best Picture. Bottom line is this.
- 37:22Speaker 1: If you like Shakespeare, you like your period pieces, you're
- 37:24Speaker 1: gonna like this film. It's a three hanky movie, as
- 37:26Speaker 1: Roger Eber used to say, very emotional and sad about
- 37:29Speaker 1: William Shakespeare, his wife.
- 37:30Speaker 3: The focus is more and his wife and their child.
- 37:33Speaker 1: I will not disclose further whit's called Hamnet and not Hamlet,
- 37:36Speaker 1: but in case you know the real story, perhaps you
- 37:38Speaker 1: know why the ending is a really rousing emotional film.
- 37:41Speaker 3: And again she won an Oscar.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Previously, Chloe jo did for making No mad Land, that
- 37:45Speaker 1: one best picture that COVID year. So she's back with
- 37:47Speaker 1: another contender, and like I said, I can clearly see
- 37:49Speaker 1: it doing well among critics certainly, and artists who appreciate
- 37:53Speaker 1: the restorer of power of art. Again, what's gonna win
- 37:56Speaker 1: that race? One battle after another?
- 37:58Speaker 3: Who knows? But go check out Hamnett. If you like
- 38:01Speaker 3: your Oscar caliber films, you're gonna love this period piece.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Mescoal, by the way, is playing Shakespeare, Jesse Buckley playing
- 38:07Speaker 1: his wife.
- 38:07Speaker 3: A thought as well on Rob Reiner, just a shocking death.
- 38:11Speaker 3: Awful to hear about. Really talented director.
- 38:13Speaker 1: I mean you think of it as an actor meathead
- 38:16Speaker 1: and all in the family is so great him an
- 38:18Speaker 1: archie Bunker, But as a director. I rewatched Misery about
- 38:20Speaker 1: six months ago because there are Kathy Bates in a
- 38:22Speaker 1: podcast and she goes, you know, I forgot how funny
- 38:24Speaker 1: that movie is for a horror movie. It's really funny,
- 38:26Speaker 1: and she goes, the credit is to Rob. He kind
- 38:28Speaker 1: of found the moments of humor within that. And Jimmy
- 38:30Speaker 1: conn who was very stir crazy obviously, you know, but
- 38:33Speaker 1: the American President, you know, stand by me.
- 38:35Speaker 3: He was a terrific director. I interview years going Cinophile.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Roberret could not have been more jovial, very affable, guy, funny.
- 38:41Speaker 1: And when Harry met Sally, he told me the story
- 38:43Speaker 1: of what he directed the famous orgasm scene. He said
- 38:46Speaker 1: that he actually sat in the chair and started imitating
- 38:48Speaker 1: as if he was a woman having an orgasm, just
- 38:50Speaker 1: to kind of give Meg an idea. And he looked
- 38:52Speaker 1: over and there was his mom staring at him, because
- 38:54Speaker 1: of course his mom has the famous line I'll have
- 38:56Speaker 1: what she's having, which was given by Billy Crystal. Rob
- 38:59Speaker 1: also created Seinfeld through Castle Rock. We had lots of
- 39:01Speaker 1: producing assignment. So terrible loss of Rob Ryan or JD.
- 39:04Speaker 1: It's just a stunning and tragic death.
- 39:07Speaker 4: Yeah, that was that's a that's a that's a tough
- 39:09Speaker 4: way to go and yeah, it's it's it's straight.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Out of a horror movie.
- 39:16Speaker 4: So you know, I I just watched I watched something Hiss,
- 39:19Speaker 4: you did something for Spot, you did the Spinal Tap.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Yeah, the new movie also.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Yeah, And I always liked him. I always thought he
- 39:26Speaker 4: was a guy that was you know, you know, very
- 39:30Speaker 4: I mean, it just seemed like a great human being.
- 39:32Speaker 4: So it's just one of those things like very nice,
- 39:34Speaker 4: didn't didn't pick sides. Was was very forthcoming with his
- 39:38Speaker 4: time and a talent. So it's sad to see something
- 39:40Speaker 4: like that go, especially.
- 39:41Speaker 1: That we haven't gotten you to the episode yet. Your
- 39:43Speaker 1: thoughts neither hand it or Rob Reiner.
- 39:47Speaker 8: Well, I have quicker on Reiner. I mean, it's horrible,
- 39:49Speaker 8: tragic story. You know, if you're fortunate enough to have
- 39:52Speaker 8: a family that maybe is not struggling with a member
- 39:55Speaker 8: who has substance.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Abuse problems or mental health problems.
- 39:59Speaker 8: You know, definitely appreciate that these days because there are
- 40:02Speaker 8: families out there who are who are struggling with these issues.
- 40:06Speaker 8: As far as Hamnet, I've heard this is a dark one,
- 40:09Speaker 8: like a real tear jerker.
- 40:11Speaker 2: But love the.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Love the career arc for Chloe Jao.
- 40:15Speaker 8: You know, she makes this incredible film in Nomad Land,
- 40:18Speaker 8: takes the marvel gig with eternals that doesn't quite work out,
- 40:22Speaker 8: so it goes back and makes another sort of, you know,
- 40:26Speaker 8: smaller film with two of the best actors in the
- 40:29Speaker 8: game in Paul mescal and Jesse Buckley. So I'll probably
- 40:33Speaker 8: check that out. I'm actually looking forward to that one.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:35Speaker 1: I love the fact you said kind of followed the
- 40:37Speaker 1: Clooney model. One for them, one for me. I'll go
- 40:38Speaker 1: make the Robin we you didn't work out, fine, I'll
- 40:40Speaker 1: go make Albert film. By the way, you weren't crazy
- 40:44Speaker 1: about Jake Kelly tal You said you liked it. You
- 40:46Speaker 1: didn't love it, though. George Clooney's no film on Netflix,
- 40:48Speaker 1: which I liked a lot.
- 40:49Speaker 2: I liked it.
- 40:50Speaker 3: I love Clooney. I'll watch anything with Clooney.
- 40:52Speaker 8: I My old thing is, like, with everything going on
- 40:55Speaker 8: in the world today, this was just a conversation I
- 40:57Speaker 8: was having with a friend. With everything going on in
- 40:59Speaker 8: the world today, is there an appetite for a film
- 41:01Speaker 8: about a rich fame, this privileged, middle aged man who's sad?
- 41:09Speaker 2: You know, the question is yes.
- 41:14Speaker 3: To an excellent a lot of Hollywood Nabel games.
- 41:18Speaker 4: I mean, he also said he never fights with his wife,
- 41:20Speaker 4: which is fucking lie.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Great call by JD. I love you never.
- 41:25Speaker 4: You've never once disagreed with your wife and said, hey,
- 41:28Speaker 4: I don't think you should get the lobster tonight.
- 41:32Speaker 2: I think it is salad. Anybody that's come on.
- 41:37Speaker 1: If you're hiding when you go all my wife, I
- 41:38Speaker 1: never fight. Yeah, you're just lying, and that's okay. We
- 41:41Speaker 1: all he you're lying, right, you don't love your wife.
- 41:44Speaker 4: You can argue your your wife was never a co
- 41:48Speaker 4: pilot in the car with you and then just flippingly
- 41:50Speaker 4: not giving you good directions.
- 41:52Speaker 2: It's never happened.
- 41:54Speaker 1: These are everyday occurrences. It's okay to be honest. Doesn't
- 41:57Speaker 1: mean you don't love your.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Idiots.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Back to the Bucks.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Shout out to the Blues content manager Brian Santa Maria
- 42:06Speaker 1: with the team's anthem singer stuck in traffic before Saint
- 42:09Speaker 1: Louis played the Bruins last week, the member of the
- 42:11Speaker 1: team's video production crew was called into action, saying the
- 42:14Speaker 1: national anthem before puck drop.
- 42:16Speaker 3: JAD.
- 42:17Speaker 1: We've talked about the ebugs system, but talk about performing
- 42:19Speaker 1: under pressure, an anthem performance pressed into duty.
- 42:22Speaker 4: That's amazing, that's pretty cool. I Uh, there's so many listen.
- 42:29Speaker 4: You gotta be ready, could.
- 42:30Speaker 3: Be ready just sing the anthem.
- 42:32Speaker 4: That's crazy, you gotta be ready to go my uh
- 42:35Speaker 4: because I'm just looking at the notes. You said, Jade,
- 42:37Speaker 4: you're supposed to set me up. Jad, what's the most
- 42:39Speaker 4: memorable anthem performance?
- 42:42Speaker 3: I want to set you up. I saw give you.
- 42:43Speaker 3: I do my idea. You can go for it. You
- 42:45Speaker 3: don't need me to ask the question. Oh, well, I
- 42:46Speaker 3: have an anthem story.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Go ahead, Okay, Well I have an anthem story.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Please.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I know it's during COVID.
- 42:51Speaker 4: My uh my, My wife Jillian did the anthem when
- 42:54Speaker 4: we were in the bubble and because you know, she's
- 42:59Speaker 4: a singer, Broadway singer, all that stuff, so she did the.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Anthem and I was the only one that knews.
- 43:04Speaker 4: So I was like sitting there and I'm like, I'm
- 43:06Speaker 4: on the ice and she kind of comes on the
- 43:09Speaker 4: screen because they're like on the JumboTron and she's singing,
- 43:12Speaker 4: and as soon as she comes on the JumboTron, all
- 43:14Speaker 4: the guys just help just cat calling.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Just all the guys are like.
- 43:20Speaker 3: Gd gd oh shit.
- 43:23Speaker 2: We ended up winning the game too.
- 43:24Speaker 4: We won the game, so all the guys were loving
- 43:26Speaker 4: it and We're like, it's gotta be every game.
- 43:28Speaker 2: And it was only one game.
- 43:29Speaker 4: But but yeah, she's open to uh to do national anthems.
- 43:33Speaker 2: She's done a few of them, so she did it.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Starts spangled bannerm assuming should both.
- 43:38Speaker 4: She can learn O Canada. I don't know if she
- 43:40Speaker 4: can do the French part, but she can learn O Canada.
- 43:42Speaker 2: All right, better learn Canada. She's doing it kidding me.
- 43:47Speaker 3: I was gonna say, always be available.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Hey, you want to talk about fighting?
- 43:51Speaker 1: George Clooney disagreement with them in the Dumur's household a
- 43:55Speaker 1: couple of minutes left a Ranger reunion quite a moment.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Monday night, former Rangers captain Jacob Truba and longtime Blue
- 44:01Speaker 1: Shirt fan favorite Chris Cryder, ranking the third all time
- 44:04Speaker 1: in Rangers franchise history three hundred and twenty six goals,
- 44:07Speaker 1: they both returned to MSG with the Doxy beat their
- 44:10Speaker 1: former team for to one, one assist for Truba, no
- 44:12Speaker 1: points for Crider, but nice tributes for both these guys.
- 44:15Speaker 3: Cry Do you think of it? Jeddy?
- 44:16Speaker 1: Thirteen seasons in New York Classy returned from the fans there.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's it's tough to go back.
- 44:24Speaker 4: You know, it's especially when you've been there that long,
- 44:26Speaker 4: and then he was he went all the way to Anaheim's.
- 44:28Speaker 4: You're way out west, you're only playing in New York
- 44:30Speaker 4: once a year, so you really cherished that return. And
- 44:34Speaker 4: good job by MSG. I mean, he's one of those guys, Crider.
- 44:37Speaker 4: I mean, this is a guy you could argue if
- 44:40Speaker 4: they hadn't won, you could have probably put his jersey
- 44:42Speaker 4: in the rafters just as long as he's been there
- 44:45Speaker 4: and how good of a player he's been for that organization.
- 44:48Speaker 4: So I do think you know, both him and Truba.
- 44:52Speaker 4: The way they left too, was was a little bit
- 44:55Speaker 4: you know, in the middle of the night. You know,
- 44:57Speaker 4: it was kind of these weird I don't think the
- 45:00Speaker 4: fans of you to ask them, wanted them to go.
- 45:03Speaker 4: I just think it was kind of a product of
- 45:05Speaker 4: the environment. So those are always tough, because it's not like,
- 45:07Speaker 4: you know, fans got tired of them. Fans will still
- 45:10Speaker 4: want those guys around and still clamoring for him. So
- 45:13Speaker 4: they come in and they you know, beat on the
- 45:16Speaker 4: beat on the old team and the Rangers, and the
- 45:17Speaker 4: Rangers look like shit again, can't score goals, and uh,
- 45:22Speaker 4: but this Ducks team. Man, it's a lot of fun.
- 45:25Speaker 4: It's more fun to win to me playing an MSG.
- 45:27Speaker 4: So I think they're pretty pretty happy right now, Crider
- 45:31Speaker 4: and Truby because after every game they get to put
- 45:34Speaker 4: their toes in the sand.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Yeah and uh yeah, living the good life.
- 45:38Speaker 1: During California last year, quite a week for Canadian's goltening
- 45:42Speaker 1: prospect Jacob Fowler.
- 45:43Speaker 3: That's right, Jacob's ladder.
- 45:45Speaker 1: Montreal desperate to find reliable goaltending, the twenty one year
- 45:47Speaker 1: old former BC star gets to call NHL debut against
- 45:51Speaker 1: the Penguins, stopped thirty six of thirty eight shots habs
- 45:54Speaker 1: win four two. He started three of Montreal's last four games,
- 45:57Speaker 1: going one to one and one. But perhaps more surreal,
- 45:59Speaker 1: he joins the list of Canadians goalies that includes Ken Dryden,
- 46:02Speaker 1: Patrick Wat and Carrie Price, who started and won their
- 46:06Speaker 1: first NHL game against the Penguins. I saw on the
- 46:09Speaker 1: ticker Samuel Montambau now sent to the HL. Do you
- 46:12Speaker 1: think Fowler is here to stay?
- 46:14Speaker 4: Well, unless until momin Book can find his game, which
- 46:17Speaker 4: is maybe what they're doing and getting his confidence back.
- 46:20Speaker 4: I mean this goalie tandem of Dobe sh Monbo has
- 46:23Speaker 4: just been riddled by you know, lack of confidence and
- 46:26Speaker 4: they just can't seem to get their game. They're they're
- 46:29Speaker 4: both tremendous talents, but they just can't seem to put
- 46:32Speaker 4: it together. In the goaltending position is a very fickle bitch,
- 46:35Speaker 4: and mentally it's tough to If you lose that feeling
- 46:40Speaker 4: and you lose that confidence, it can be tough sledding
- 46:43Speaker 4: your angles aren on.
- 46:44Speaker 2: So Dobe's just played a little bit better. You know.
- 46:47Speaker 4: Montreal's kind of up and down. They've you know, win
- 46:49Speaker 4: some games, losing games, so they're very helter skelter. But
- 46:52Speaker 4: Fowler has you know, been touted as the guy, and
- 46:55Speaker 4: you know it's there's not many teams that have three
- 46:58Speaker 4: goals that could potentially be a number one. So you
- 47:00Speaker 4: got to be happy for the Montreal Canadians. It's just
- 47:02Speaker 4: finding which one and then riding the high hand because
- 47:05Speaker 4: you know they need to, you know, continue to stack
- 47:09Speaker 4: up points and and keep playing some good hockey. You know,
- 47:12Speaker 4: they're one point out of the playoff spot now, so
- 47:15Speaker 4: sorry they're they're in one point in, but you got
- 47:17Speaker 4: everybody chasing you, and this this division, this conference is
- 47:21Speaker 4: going to come down to the wire. It's going to
- 47:23Speaker 4: really be the last game you might see four or
- 47:26Speaker 4: five teams switching positions. I think it feels like one
- 47:29Speaker 4: of those years. So you got to keep winning games.
- 47:31Speaker 4: You got to find a goalie that can get you there.
- 47:33Speaker 4: So I think Montreal potentially has a guy in Fowler,
- 47:36Speaker 4: but I don't know.
- 47:38Speaker 2: It's gonna be tough.
- 47:39Speaker 4: I like do Beach when he's on more than I
- 47:41Speaker 4: like big goalies, and he's, uh, he can be the guy,
- 47:46Speaker 4: and he's been touted as the guy for them.
- 47:47Speaker 1: So I was about to say, dob off to a
- 47:49Speaker 1: great strut then really hit the skids. Montebo's yet to
- 47:52Speaker 1: really get rolling. So we'll see if Fouler could be
- 47:53Speaker 1: the guy. Flyers beat the Habs. By the way, for
- 47:55Speaker 1: when last night, I'll be in Philadelphia for Amazon Prime
- 47:58Speaker 1: checking out the new look Canucks against a surprising Flyers
- 48:01Speaker 1: currently right now third in the Metropolitan Division.
- 48:03Speaker 3: That'll do it for us. Thanks for checking out NHL
