- 0:16SPEAKER_01: What's going on everybody?
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: It's Aiden Novak back with yet another episode of the Shield Sports Podcast.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: It's episode four this week.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: We got the same crew as always.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: We got Peyton Rich, Landon Fahey, and Jake Nuttall joining me for some more football recaps and pick'ems.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Gentlemen, how are we doing this week?
- 0:32SPEAKER_06: Doing good, Nove.
- 0:32SPEAKER_06: How about you, man?
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: Doing great.
- 0:34SPEAKER_06: Awesome.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Glad to have you guys here as always.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Let's just jump right into it.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: College football, week five.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: We got some recaps to go over.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: Only a couple games I want to highlight.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: From this week, it was pretty uneventful other than really one upset over the week.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: So we'll start with that one first.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: The number eight Florida Gators traveled on the road to the 25th ranked Missouri Tigers after a huge win against Ole Miss and got demolished by Missouri.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: 45 to 17 was the final.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Florida's offense just was sleeping throughout the entire game, couldn't get anything going, and Missouri just couldn't do anything wrong.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: I was really shocked about this result.
- 1:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, college football has just been a little bit confusing this year.
- 1:16SPEAKER_04: Um I mean we start to think a team's good and all of a sudden they lose to a team that we didn't think was that good.
- 1:21SPEAKER_04: Especially in the SEC.
- 1:23SPEAKER_04: Um I think the Big Ten has kind of gone how we expected, except, you know, Michigan and Penn State have been a little disappointing, but a lot of mix-up in the SEC every single week.
- 1:33SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:33SPEAKER_06: Kind of a shocking game, I agree.
- 1:35SPEAKER_06: I kind of paid forward to win.
- 1:36SPEAKER_06: I thought they were gonna go and kind of finally get on their roll, but um minor setback this week.
- 1:41SPEAKER_06: Hopefully they come next week right a play.
- 1:48SPEAKER_08: I mean, you just put up 50 points against a fourth rink Ole Miss team, and you get 50 points dropped and you had to buy a worse Missouri team.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, we talked about the letdown game after Ole Miss beat LSU and then got destroyed by Florida.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: We talked about the letdown game for them.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: This was Florida's letdown game because they get the huge win over an Ole Miss team that was riding the highs of that LSU win.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: So Florida comes into the Missouri game riding the highs of the Ole Miss win, and they get bit by a Missouri team that's on the fringe of the top 25.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: They're about mid-table in the SEC, and they're not a team you can sleep on.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Clearly, as we saw last Saturday, Missouri just dominated that game from start to finish.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: A couple other rank-down rank games I want to go over.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Staying in the SEC.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: Number seven, Alabama at number 16, Mississippi State.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: I think a lot of us actually picked Mississippi State to win in this game with Comario Taylor being a potential Heisman candidate.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: And Alabama just went in there and took care of business.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: 56 to 23 was the final score.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Keelan Russell looked phenomenal again for the Crimson tide.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: Kind of disappointed in this result because I wanted to see a Mississippi State upset, but nonetheless, Alabama has looked as strong as ever under Kalen De Boer in his first few years of coaching there.
- 3:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I feel like this is kind of what we expected from um Deboer when he took over.
- 3:09SPEAKER_04: Uh the first this is third year, right?
- 3:12SPEAKER_04: This is year three.
- 3:12SPEAKER_04: The first two years a little disappointing on Alabama standards, but it looks like I mean he's got a under control now and he's really taken control of the SEC.
- 3:20SPEAKER_04: Big matchup this weekend.
- 3:22SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I mean Alabama football is always good football, and I think I picked Mississippi State more as like uh I really want them to beat Alabama and kind of pull off that upset.
- 3:30SPEAKER_06: But um needless to say, not really shocked by the outcome of that game.
- 3:34SPEAKER_06: I think like when you think of players like that or teams like that, it's just you have different levels within college football themselves.
- 3:41SPEAKER_06: Mississippi State's a great team, but I think Alabama's on that like S tier, another level within the SEC itself.
- 3:48SPEAKER_03: Alabama is just on a different tier, like straight up.
- 3:51SPEAKER_03: And I mean go on the road, put fifty-six points on a solid team.
- 3:56SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's hard to do.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: And clearly they made it look pretty easy, so and this is the best Mississippi State has looked since Dak Prescott was the quarterback there in 2014, was the last time Mississippi State was even good, and they were ranked number one in the country at that time.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: And Camario Taylor is definitely a really good football player, and he's shown signs of greatness throughout this entire season, but then you come into a huge game against Alabama after they beat Missouri at home last week.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Come into a huge game against Alabama, potentially the biggest game of the season, and you just get stomped on in your building, and it just takes you a huge step backwards.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be interesting to see how they respond this week with SEC play only heating up.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Couple more games I want to look at.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: We're gonna get to Michigan and Michigan State in a little bit, but first let's look at number five Ohio State at number 14 Iowa.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: I picked Iowa in this game.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: I was very disappointed in this result.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Iowa also came out with a letdown.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Granted, it was against one of the best teams in the country.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: They beat Michigan the previous week on the final play of the game.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: I was expecting them to come out firing against Ohio State.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: They just didn't.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Ohio State dominated this game from start to finish.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Julian Sand had 300 plus passing yards, and Ohio State came away with a 31-14 victory at Kinneck.
- 5:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah, kind of what I expected, talked about it um last week's show.
- 5:18SPEAKER_04: Iowa really didn't outplay Michigan in any facet of the game, and Ohio State's, I mean I mean back to Michigan, I I mean, we we didn't even know if Michigan's, I mean, good at all after this last week.
- 5:29SPEAKER_04: We'll talk about that later.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: But I mean, Iowa State or Ohio State's just so much better than anybody as Iowa's played this year, and it kind of just showed they weren't really prepared.
- 5:40SPEAKER_06: I mean, yeah, Jeremiah Smith is just looking like the best receiver to come out of college recently, and I think that's just when you have that, you know, explosive playmaker on the outside, it it comes really, really easy to win those types of football games.
- 5:55SPEAKER_06: I don't think that um I think Ohio State, we talked about it again, I think they are gonna stand alone up at the Big Ten this year and they're probably gonna pull out with it the way that they've been playing.
- 6:05SPEAKER_06: So Needless to say, like, yeah, as a Michigander we want Iowa to win, but not surprised by the outcome of that game.
- 6:13SPEAKER_03: Jeremiah Smith is that guy.
- 6:15SPEAKER_03: I remember you said last week, though, that um that there's no other weapons on that team, and he is the only weapon.
- 6:23SPEAKER_03: It it truly does not matter, I feel like.
- 6:26SPEAKER_03: You don't you can't say that a lot about a lot of players.
- 6:28SPEAKER_03: He was double covered a lot of that game.
- 6:31SPEAKER_03: He was focused basically the whole time, and he still had 11 catches, 206 um yards for two tutties.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and he ended up breaking, I think it was the Ohio State all-time receiving touchdowns record in school history.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: So, Faye, you're absolutely right.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: Just because they don't have a wide receiver too, that really does not mean anything for the Buckeyes.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: When you have a guy like Jeremiah Smith as your WR1, you can just target him on basically every single play and just rely on him to go get the ball for you and make a highlight pretty much every time the ball comes his way.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Which is really frustrating as a Michigan fan to watch because I know that's exactly how Ohio State's gonna play Michigan in November, is just target Jeremiah Smith over and over and over again and just dare Michigan to just stop him.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: And I don't think it's gonna happen, but that's still almost two months away, so we're gonna see how that comes up.
- 7:23SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and like I think the games just recently show how good of a wide receiver he is.
- 7:28SPEAKER_06: I know last year we talked about like, is he really good because you just have a good wide receiver room at Ohio State, right?
- 7:34SPEAKER_06: Where you're focusing on two guys and he just happens to be the guy that gets the favorable matchups.
- 7:39SPEAKER_06: But now it's you just separating himself where I think right now he's by a clear the front runner for the Heisman Trophy coming in and six weeks into the season, and hopefully he continues to see production because it it's good to see you know a kid like that succeed.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: And looking at that Ohio State receiver room, other than Jeremiah Smith, all the guys behind him, this is probably the weakest wide receiver room Ohio State's had in a very long time.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: So he's like we mentioned the only real weapon that they have at the wide receiver position, but he's producing like a wide receiver one and wide receiver two combined as one person, which is just unreal.
- 8:15SPEAKER_04: I saw a clip um against the Iowa in the Iowa game.
- 8:18SPEAKER_04: There was a defender mashed up on him one-on-one, literally begging for help.
- 8:23SPEAKER_04: Like he was like looking at the safety over top.
- 8:27SPEAKER_04: Look at the safety, just begging him to help him over top.
- 8:29SPEAKER_04: And I mean, that I mean that speaks that speaks volumes in itself.
- 8:32SPEAKER_04: I mean, Iowa's a good defense.
- 8:34SPEAKER_04: So I mean, if you have those talented of players, I mean, just begging for help, uh, that's that's you know that says something.
- 8:40SPEAKER_06: That says something.
- 8:41SPEAKER_06: Hopefully gets put in a good situation come April.
- 8:44SPEAKER_03: That's literally on par with Calvin Johnson on the Lions.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: Essentially, essentially, you can't double cover him, you can't triple cover him, it doesn't matter.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: He's gonna go make a play.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: Alright, staying in the Big Ten, we're done with the ranked on ranked matchups for the week.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: We're gonna go to two of the most disappointing teams in the conference right now, and they're both unfortunately in state.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: We'll start with Michigan going on the road to play Minnesota and losing 20-14 in by far the worst game that they've played all season so far.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: Losing the little brown jug.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: They lost at Minnesota for the first time since 1977.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: It's been almost 50 years since Michigan lost at their place.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: And the jug is now in Minneapolis for the time being.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: What a frustrating watch, gentlemen.
- 9:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, me and Nove did a a short episode about this on Tuesday.
- 9:35SPEAKER_04: I'm assuming it'll already be posted before this one is.
- 9:38SPEAKER_04: It will.
- 9:39SPEAKER_04: Um, so I was keeping it short and sweet, I guess, from from what a deeper dive from Tuesday was, but just disappointing in every facet of the game, really.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: Um defense played good enough with how much they were on the field.
- 9:52SPEAKER_04: But I mean, there was there's not one bright spot of that offense right now except maybe JJ B.
- 9:57SPEAKER_04: Buchanan.
- 9:58SPEAKER_04: Um, even Andrew Marsh has been a little underwhelming.
- 10:01SPEAKER_04: He had a couple good games last few weeks, not really against Iowa, or not really against Minnesota, but against Iowa he had a good game.
- 10:08SPEAKER_04: Just looking for somebody to step up, whether it's a quarterback change, whether it's play calling change, something needs to change for this Michigan team.
- 10:15SPEAKER_06: Did you guys see the things that got leaked with the Michigan tight end?
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Zach Marshall sending messages on Instagram, basically just ripping the coaching staff.
- 10:28SPEAKER_06: And he said that it's not an underwood issue.
- 10:30SPEAKER_06: I mean, that tells you, like, that tells you to me it's the coaching staff.
- 10:34SPEAKER_06: When you have players saying like that, and obviously like you have some disgruntled players if they're not producing well or they have issues with it, but to to have players come out and start saying like this is not working, it shows you that the turmoil just isn't with the play, right?
- 10:50SPEAKER_06: That there's something other going on within the within the program that whether they don't agree with the coaching or the coaches aren't uh doing their job well enough, but yeah, I think he said in the message that Bryce Underwood's a great quarterback, right?
- 11:04SPEAKER_06: Which is like for a receiver or for a player to say that to back their guy up shows me that he's a very talented quarterback.
- 11:11SPEAKER_06: I don't think Bryce Underwood's in the right situation for him at a quarterback right now at Michigan.
- 11:16SPEAKER_06: I think that honestly, he might we might see him into the transfer portal after this year, and hopefully uh Tommy Carr can get some reps in coming up here because it's clear that whatever type of offense that they're running just doesn't match his style of game.
- 11:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, this game's just boring.
- 11:32SPEAKER_03: Like their offense is just boring to watch.
- 11:34SPEAKER_03: There's like nothing going on.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: Because they don't make adjustments.
- 11:37SPEAKER_03: And it's mainly it's that too, and just like, yeah, I mean, you had zero points stored in the second half.
- 11:42SPEAKER_03: There seems to have no life on this offense.
- 11:44SPEAKER_03: I mean, even the other week, I think they were getting booed at your home field, and that just and that that's demoralizing.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: How often does that happen for a program like Michigan?
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Not at all.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Really not at all.
- 11:56SPEAKER_06: Just uninspiring overall.
- 11:58SPEAKER_06: Just uninspiring looking at the sideline.
- 12:00SPEAKER_06: They just look uninspired throughout the game, and it's just hard to hard to see life within that offense right now.
- 12:07SPEAKER_04: I think it kind of comes back to what we were talking about Tuesday and the fact that um this offense that was brought over to Michigan, it's proven to work in the in the outwest.
- 12:17SPEAKER_04: It's just not how Michigan plays football.
- 12:20SPEAKER_04: It never has been on Michigan's played football.
- 12:22SPEAKER_04: And Bryce Underwood wasn't recruited to play this style of football.
- 12:26SPEAKER_04: He was recruited to um, you know, be a playmaker of his legs and throw twenty times a game.
- 12:33SPEAKER_04: He's not supposed to drop back and throw forty times a game.
- 12:35SPEAKER_04: He's supposed to go make plays, be athletic, and that's just not how this offense has been so far this year.
- 12:41SPEAKER_06: Yeah, power run, like it's more mu much more of like a West Coast style offense.
- 12:45SPEAKER_06: You're running 5Y, running the spread more.
- 12:48SPEAKER_06: Like well, I mean, I talked about a couple weeks ago.
- 12:50SPEAKER_06: When I think about Michigan offense, I think of power football, right?
- 12:53SPEAKER_06: You have I form, you have multiple tight ends, right?
- 12:56SPEAKER_06: You run, run, run, play action, and then you get someone deep, right?
- 12:59SPEAKER_06: That's that's the name.
- 13:00SPEAKER_06: Run Bryce Underwood, a couple options here and there, but I think he just got put into a really bad situation with you know more leaving and then changing in head coach, and now you're starting to see players start saying stuff.
- 13:13SPEAKER_06: Uh, it's really disappointing for the program and and uh the team overall, and we'll see how the year unfolds for them.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: Michigan has had an identity as a program, like you mentioned, Nut, as a power football team.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: Run the ball, run the ball, run the ball, beat your guys in the trenches, win the battle up front.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: That's been Michigan's identity ever since Jim Harbaugh got hired.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: He brought back that identity because that's what Michigan had before him.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: He brought back that identity in 2015 in his first season, and it stayed through a decade.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: And now they've got a new identity with this spread offense, and it doesn't work in the Big Ten.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: Now, this was before our time.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: This was late 2000s, early 2010s.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: When I think of this Michigan offense right now and how they're just getting dominated up front, I look back at the Rich Rodriguez era of Michigan football from 2008 to 2010, where they didn't make a single bowl game in those three years.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: They got blown off the ball almost every snap because Rich Rod tried to bring speed, speed, speed, athleticism into the Michigan offense and into the Big Ten, and it didn't work.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Teams like Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, the top-tier teams in the Big Ten at that time dominated Michigan up front.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: And that's exactly what we're seeing right now.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: Michigan is not winning the battle in the trenches offensively because they have that West Coast style of offense that's not physical enough.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: But enough ranting about Michigan.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: If you guys want to listen to more rants about Michigan, the Detroit Lions, and a little bit about Michigan State, tune in to episode three where Peyton and I just go into a deeper dive of it and how disappointing it is as a football fan in the state of Michigan right now.
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: So let's just take a look at the Spartans just really quick before we get into NFL recap.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: They got destroyed at Camp Randall, 31-3 by Wisconsin, and the worst game that Michigan State has played all season long, just a disappointing week of football in the state of Michigan.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: Colton Joseph had 286 total yards, pretty much half and half on the air in the air and on the ground.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: Wisconsin's been looking pretty solid this year though.
- 15:14SPEAKER_06: Yeah, expected out of the sparties right now.
- 15:16SPEAKER_06: You lose a couple guys, and that's just how it is.
- 15:19SPEAKER_06: And new again, new coach coming in, right?
- 15:22SPEAKER_06: We're excited after that newer dame game, but I don't think their future is bright for this year, and hopefully they just come and squeak out a bowl.
- 15:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, adversity has definitely hit for Michigan State this year, and uh new coaching staff were kind of hoping that they would respond a little bit better to the adversity.
- 15:40SPEAKER_04: Haven't seen it yet.
- 15:41SPEAKER_04: Um but obviously we still have half the season left to see how they respond, and I guess that's that's all really there is to it.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: A lot like Michigan, this offense is just lifeless.
- 15:52SPEAKER_03: I mean, true, Nully I mean their quarterback sucks.
- 15:57SPEAKER_03: I mean just I mean he's missing Aiden Childs.
- 16:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that yeah.
- 16:02SPEAKER_03: He is balling out Northwestern right now.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: That's something I never thought I'd hear a state fan say is they miss Aiden Child.
- 16:10SPEAKER_04: They've been that is true.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, in his case, Grass is greener on that side.
- 16:17SPEAKER_03: No question.
- 16:18SPEAKER_03: And uh yeah, this team just isn't good.
- 16:20SPEAKER_03: I mean, it doesn't help with the losses, but I mean they just don't look good.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you mentioned lifeless on offense.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: That's because the life of their offense is out for the season.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: Cam Edwards injured his knee against Nebraska on their first series.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: That was the life of their offense, so that's the reason why Michigan State's offense is lifeless.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: Alessio Milovoyovic is a decent enough quarterback as a game manager, but he's not the playmaking quarterback that can just get the job done through the air.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: He really doesn't have any phenomenal receiving weapons.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, Chrishawn McCrae is his wide receiver one, and he's a solid receiver, don't get me wrong.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: But he's also not that playmaking kind of guy that can just take over a game, like a Jeremiah Smith at Ohio State.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Michigan State just they don't have the explosiveness on offense.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: They don't have a consistent run game without Cam Edwards.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: Jordan Hall's been banged up on the defensive side of the ball, so they don't have a solid linebacking core there with him out.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: It's just been a rough go for Sparty.
- 17:12SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if you start seeing some younger guys get more involved and kind of start to try to develop some of those pieces for uh future years to come, you know, in the next couple weeks overall.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: Well, that's enough for college football week five.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: Let's jump into week four of the NFL season.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: Not too much I want to look at here.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: There wasn't a whole lot going on this week.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: So let's start with our primetime matchup with our Detroit Lions losing 32 to 26 at the Carolina Panthers.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Again, you want to listen to a deeper dive of a rant on the Detroit Lions, tune into episode three with Peyton and myself.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: But fellas, let's just gl gloss over this really quick.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: What were your guys' thoughts of that game on Sunday night?
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Because it was another brutal watch.
- 18:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, um, obviously the defense needs to be a lot better.
- 18:03SPEAKER_04: You can't allow 300 yards a game on uh through the air to anybody.
- 18:07SPEAKER_04: Ted McMillan went off.
- 18:09SPEAKER_04: You can't I mean you can't consistently um allow that to happen to you and not make an adjustment.
- 18:15SPEAKER_04: Offensively, just looking for a little bit more explosiveness.
- 18:19SPEAKER_04: And I mean we had a chance to win it at the end and just didn't uh couldn't get it done.
- 18:23SPEAKER_04: So um can obviously throw some blame on the offense there at the end of the game, too.
- 18:30SPEAKER_06: Yeah, um kind of disappointing right now.
- 18:33SPEAKER_06: Brad Holmes, I'm kinda disappointed in him, had an opportunity to go get for a corner, said our defense is fine, it's not fine.
- 18:41SPEAKER_06: Disappointed with Shepard.
- 18:43SPEAKER_06: Um yeah, you just see the frustration with the Lions right now.
- 18:48SPEAKER_06: You see the frustration of the offense, and it's you can kind of almost feel that friction watching it where it's like the offense is just begging the defense to get a stop.
- 18:57SPEAKER_04: I mean, just begging them, and it cuts the camera over to the bench and see you Amon Rahn and Gibbs sit next to each other, just I mean, I'm like lifeless in their face watching the defense play football.
- 19:07SPEAKER_06: Yeah, what do you expect?
- 19:08SPEAKER_06: I mean, if I was if I was a running back like Jameer Gibbs, I'd be like, I need to put up 200 yards and three touchdowns to even come close to a ball game right now.
- 19:16SPEAKER_06: Amon Ra needs, you know, 10 receptions for 180 yards and then touchdown themselves, and Jared Goff has to play perfect and not turn the ball over.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: Which he hasn't turned it over once this year.
- 19:26SPEAKER_06: That's exactly, and that's the frustrating part about it.
- 19:30SPEAKER_06: And we talked about Hutchinson, the entire game getting pressure, right?
- 19:34SPEAKER_06: He was probably in that backfield two seconds, three seconds, and couldn't even get a stack because it's all over Bryce Young.
- 19:40SPEAKER_06: Exactly, couldn't even get a tech because our our secondary can't hold for two and three seconds.
- 19:45SPEAKER_06: And it's like, you know, Kevin Shepard's, you know, putting his playbook up to his mouth like he's calling a play.
- 19:51SPEAKER_06: I don't think anyone wants to read his lips at this point.
- 19:54SPEAKER_06: So I mean, that guy needs to go.
- 19:56SPEAKER_06: That defense has been atrocious.
- 19:58SPEAKER_06: And you know what, Brad Holmes, you talk about being a winning culture now, go get someone to go win.
- 20:03SPEAKER_06: That's all I gotta say about that.
- 20:04SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah, what is that dude hiding on the play sheet?
- 20:08SPEAKER_03: What is there to hide?
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: There is nothing to hide.
- 20:10SPEAKER_03: I mean, you're basically last in every single defensive ranking there is imaginable.
- 20:16SPEAKER_03: I mean, defense is just straight up terrible, historically bad.
- 20:20SPEAKER_03: I mean, I don't I just un I don't get it.
- 20:22SPEAKER_03: I truly don't.
- 20:23SPEAKER_03: There's no adjustments being made at all.
- 20:26SPEAKER_03: And it just like just I mean, I feel like that's kind of the theme with these mission teams is just lifeless.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Honestly.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: It's one side of the ball or the other.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: With Michigan and Michigan State, it's lifeless on offense.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: With Detroit, it's buried in the ground on defense.
- 20:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they're already sets feet under, and we are in weeks it.
- 20:45SPEAKER_03: Like I don't I don't get it.
- 20:48SPEAKER_06: And you talk about wasted potential, right?
- 20:50SPEAKER_06: And this is what you kind of get worried as a Detroit fan, is that you've seen this before.
- 20:54SPEAKER_06: We've seen this with Stafford, we've seen this with Calvin Johnson, we've seen this with Barry Sanders.
- 20:59SPEAKER_06: We have these great offensive players, year in and year out, come out of Detroit, and just can't go win football games because of just lack of defense.
- 21:09SPEAKER_06: And again, Brad Holmes, if you're listening to this, please go get someone to help, please.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: I hope he's listening to the entire state of Michigan because I know the entire fan base of the Detroit Lions is saying, go get a corner, please.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: You cannot keep relying on, oh, we've got Kirby Joseph, he's gonna come back soon.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: He probably won't.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Oh, we got Brian Branch, he's coming back soon.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: He will, but he's not healthy yet.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: He's gonna help the secondary tremendously, don't get me wrong.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: But that's only one player.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: One player is not going to just completely transform a secondary like that.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: It's not gonna happen.
- 21:47SPEAKER_03: If you have DJ Reed on the football field in any capacity, it's not gonna change.
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: That's straight up.
- 21:52SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: And that's the and that's corner number one on this roster.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: That's the sad thing.
- 21:58SPEAKER_06: And let's be clear, we are in week one.
- 22:00SPEAKER_06: We are two and two, right?
- 22:01SPEAKER_06: Two and two.
- 22:02SPEAKER_06: Two and two.
- 22:03SPEAKER_06: All right.
- 22:03SPEAKER_06: We're not freaking out yet.
- 22:05SPEAKER_06: But there is causes for concerns playing in the NFC North, losing against games that are against teams that you have to beat.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: Very, very level game.
- 22:15SPEAKER_06: The NFC North, we could very well split every game and not make the playoffs at this point in time in the season.
- 22:23SPEAKER_06: So it's just gonna be an uphill battle for here, and hopefully we go get it done.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: Well, two more games I want to look at from week four of the NFL season.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: A little bit of a shocking upset on Thursday night football, staying in prime time.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: Cleveland Browns, guys, they're three and one.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: With Deshaun Watson actually playing at a pretty decently high level of football, playing well, leading the Browns to a good start to this season.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: They just beat the Steelers on Thursday night in a division matchup 27-24.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: I think a few of us actually picked the Browns to win that game on Thursday night.
- 22:59SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I definitely picked the Browns to win that game.
- 23:02SPEAKER_06: And I picked the Browns for just because more so that I thought Pittsburgh was pretty bad.
- 23:09SPEAKER_06: But I mean, they just surprised me as well.
- 23:12SPEAKER_06: I mean, Junkins having a good game.
- 23:14SPEAKER_06: You you know Deshaun Watson played amazing.
- 23:17SPEAKER_06: Like it just feels like it's still the Browns, so it's it's a little difficult to be excited about them, but they are three and one.
- 23:26SPEAKER_06: Alright, and they are they are one of the you know players right now in the AFC North.
- 23:31SPEAKER_06: So hopefully uh they continue to do what they're doing because it's it life's better when you're seeing good Browns football sometimes.
- 23:37SPEAKER_04: Here's my take on Cleveland.
- 23:39SPEAKER_04: Um yeah, they're three and one and haven't played very good teams, but you still have to go make plays and you still have to win three football games.
- 23:48SPEAKER_04: The Lions have questionably, I mean, have a way better roster and are two and two, a worse position than the Cleveland Browns.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: And they haven't played a single good team in their first four games except the Bills.
- 23:59SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 24:00SPEAKER_04: So, I mean Cleveland has weapons on offense.
- 24:03SPEAKER_04: They wouldn't got two receivers.
- 24:05SPEAKER_04: They have, I mean, Judkins is a playmaker.
- 24:07SPEAKER_04: You've seen it since he was at college in Ohio State.
- 24:10SPEAKER_04: If Deshaun Watson manages the game and doesn't turn the ball over, this Cleveland Browns team isn't easy to beat.
- 24:16SPEAKER_04: And if they can keep playing good football, who knows?
- 24:19SPEAKER_04: Maybe they sneak in in a conf in a division that hasn't been strong so far this year.
- 24:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, a great young core with Denzel Boston and um not even gonna try to pronounce his last name.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: Concepcion.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: Casey Concepcion, yeah, good receiving core there.
- 24:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there you go.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: But no, yeah, they actually looked really good last week.
- 24:37SPEAKER_03: I mean, they're gonna keep getting better, honestly.
- 24:39SPEAKER_03: And um, Deshaun Watson just not playing last year's football.
- 24:43SPEAKER_03: He's playing somewhat better.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: He's trying to get back to his Texans form, which is good to see out there.
- 24:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like Payne said, he just he doesn't have to do that much.
- 24:51SPEAKER_03: He just has to manage the game, kind of like a Brock Purdy prototype.
- 24:55SPEAKER_03: Don't turn the ball over.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: And get you guys get you guys the ball, truly.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: That defense, even without Miles Garrett, they're still good enough to make plays.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: Danzel Ward in the secondary has always been a playmaker at corner.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: Jared Verse, obviously a phenomenal pass rusher.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: Mason Graham is a force in the middle of that defensive line.
- 25:11SPEAKER_01: The Browns' defense will never be an easy.
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're always a sweeshier.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: Defensive rookie of the year last year.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he is that guy.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: He is really good.
- 25:20SPEAKER_06: Great middle linebacker.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: Browns will Browns have not had a bad defense in a long time, and they still have a pretty good unit, probably a top ten unit in the NFL.
- 25:28SPEAKER_06: Oh, for sure.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: Very consistently, and that's what's gonna win them ball games, as long as, like you mentioned, Faye, Deshaun Watson manages the game well, gets the ball to his playmakers, and doesn't turn the ball over, which is exactly what he did on Thursday night.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: Last game we want to look at from week four, and then we can get into some pick'ems here.
- 25:43SPEAKER_01: A little bit of a shocking upset here as well.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: Drake may and the Patriots may finally put together a good game, threw for 270 yards, three touchdown passes, did have an interception, I think he did have a fumble in there too, but he did enough to put together a win for the Patriots in Buffalo and hand them their first loss of the season 29-26.
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: New England came out on top, and I gotta look at something really quick here.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: Let me pull something up because New England had a receiver that was basically a no-name.
- 26:18SPEAKER_03: Fton Chisholm.
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: The third.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: That touchdown catch that he had in the fourth quarter to give the Patriots the lead.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, that was an amazing play.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: Did you guys see that touchdown?
- 26:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that was actually playing.
- 26:33SPEAKER_04: That was unbelievable.
- 26:35SPEAKER_04: And who was it?
- 26:36SPEAKER_04: It was TJ Gardner Johnson that made the comment after, right?
- 26:39SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean pretty sure you're a practice squad player.
- 26:42SPEAKER_04: Hey, after the third, the third of his name, man.
- 26:46SPEAKER_04: I mean, come on.
- 26:47SPEAKER_04: That was electric.
- 26:48SPEAKER_04: Are you kidding me?
- 26:48SPEAKER_04: That was amazing.
- 26:50SPEAKER_07: I think he said something like you're a practice squad player, and then I think the heck I think I don't know if it was Variable or whoever it was, but it was like, you've been on eight teams in four years.
- 27:01SPEAKER_04: I mean, yeah, that's just a crazy statement to make after the game.
- 27:06SPEAKER_04: I mean, after somebody makes a play like that in the game, that's crazy first right.
- 27:11SPEAKER_04: But also, um, I mean, we expected the Patriots to be a good team to come into the year.
- 27:15SPEAKER_04: I mean, the kick came off a Super Bowl appearance last season.
- 27:18SPEAKER_04: Um yeah, Drake May finally put together.
- 27:21SPEAKER_04: Uh the all the only thing the Bills have working against them is they sometimes just turn the ball over a lot.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: Josh Allen also turns the ball over at the worst times.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: He didn't turn the ball over throughout that entire game, and then he threw a pick with what, three minutes left, two minutes left.
- 27:36SPEAKER_04: And I mean the Bills team is very high powered, a lot of weapons, but they will make mistakes, and the Patriots capitalized when they needed to, and they got a big win.
- 27:46SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 27:46SPEAKER_06: Um Patriots look good, right?
- 27:49SPEAKER_06: I think the Bills, again, we're kind of in that cycle where the Bills have a disappointing loss, and then they go continue to play, and then they beat Kansas City during the regular season, they make the playoffs, and then choke against Kansas City.
- 28:01SPEAKER_06: I mean, I feel like that's just the Bills' entire season is just a big loop that we kind of know what to expect with it.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: So it's a never-ending cycle, and I feel bad for Bills fans in that regard.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: They lose teams for like no reason.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: Which was this was a game that they shouldn't have lost considering how bad the Patriots had played through the first three and how horrible Drake May was to the first three games, but they let them put together a good game.
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: That's partially due to the Bills having a little bit of the same problem as the Lions, no secondary.
- 28:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I feel like divisional matchups too, it's always a toss-up no matter what team it is, unless it's truly just that bad.
- 28:38SPEAKER_03: Like the Sea Ots and like the Cardinals or something.
- 28:41SPEAKER_03: Truly just like and that's not even that bad anymore, but it just mainly like the Bills don't care take care of business that much.
- 28:50SPEAKER_03: They really don't.
- 28:51SPEAKER_03: Like, especially it just looks shaky a lot.
- 28:54SPEAKER_03: And I I I don't like this team that much.
- 28:56SPEAKER_03: I mean they're good, obviously, but like again, during playoff time, they're gonna find a way to choke, and something's gonna happen, and then it's just gonna be this repeated cycle of Josh Allen being a playoff.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: And it's not even more so Josh Allen that's the problem, because obviously he's won an MVP, he's arguably one of, if not the best quarterback in the league right now, and they just can't get it done when the lights are bright, man.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: The lights get too bright for him every year, and it's it honestly makes me feel bad for Bills fans because I I like the Bills.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: I like Josh Allen, I like Buffalo.
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: It just makes me feel bad for their fans that that happens to them every single year.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: I mean But as Lions fans we can also relate to how heartbreak feels.
- 29:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I don't feel that bad for 'em.
- 29:44SPEAKER_04: I mean, they're pretty much even with us at this point.
- 29:48SPEAKER_03: I mean, they've gone to zero Super Bowls, but it's almost worse because they have better talent every single year and they just cannot get the job done.
- 29:55SPEAKER_02: You're talking about the Bills?
- 29:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:57SPEAKER_02: That is true.
- 29:59SPEAKER_02: Alright, let's move on.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: We're in week six now of college football.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: We're at the midpoint of the season.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: It's flown by, guys.
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: It has absolutely flown by us.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: So let's jump right into some picks.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: We're just gonna go like usual, any top 25 team that plays, we're gonna pick winner-loser.
- 30:20SPEAKER_01: So let's start with Friday night.
- 30:22SPEAKER_01: Number 20 Iowa goes on the road to play Washington in a Big Ten matchup.
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: Iowa coming off of that loss to Ohio State.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: Washington just came off a brutal road loss by four to the 18th ranked USC Trojans.
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: This is a must-have bounce back game for both teams.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Washington opens as a three-point favorite being at home.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: Who do we got in this one?
- 30:47SPEAKER_04: Last time I saw a three-point favorite for a team that was lower ranked was I actually were unranked maybe, was Florida against Ole Miss.
- 30:58SPEAKER_04: And I'm not gonna say, I mean, like I I picked I picked Florida in that game, I'm gonna pick uh Washington in this game.
- 31:04SPEAKER_04: Obviously, they know something that I don't, and Washington's at homes is a tough place to play, and I just not really a believer in Iowa, so I'm picking Washington.
- 31:15SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I I agree with Peyton.
- 31:17SPEAKER_06: I think that Washington overall is a better football team, and that stadium's underrated to go play at.
- 31:22SPEAKER_06: I'll say that for sure.
- 31:24SPEAKER_06: Um, again, I think that we also have to take a factor like West Coast versus Iowa, like flying across the country, coming off of a brutal, a brutal loss.
- 31:35SPEAKER_06: Um, I think Washington's much more set up to go win this football game when you have two 50-50 teams, so I think Washington's gonna pull it out here.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: We got two Washington picks so far.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: What do you got, Faye?
- 31:47SPEAKER_03: Uh Iowa just did not look good against Ohio State, but it's also Ohio State.
- 31:52SPEAKER_03: I mean, you just placed basically the best of the best, and now you're it Washington's obviously a downgrade from Ohio State.
- 32:00SPEAKER_03: I do think I mean, but Iowa, I just don't like Iowa.
- 32:02SPEAKER_03: And I'm just I feel like I'm picking Washington by default.
- 32:05SPEAKER_03: I mean, they're at home, Iowa's going to cross the country, so give me Washington.
- 32:12SPEAKER_06: Yeah, they've also been really nasty in my college football dynasty, so I think I gotta pick them too.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: Side note from Jake Nuttall.
- 32:19SPEAKER_01: But I'm gonna go with Washington as well.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: I like the dogs at home here, opening as a three-point favorite.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: Like Peyton said, last time we saw that happen, Florida destroyed all miss.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: So I like Washington here, even though they did have that rough loss against they actually have back-to-back losses.
- 32:36SPEAKER_01: They lost to Minnesota.
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: Then last week they lost to USC on the road by four.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: It came down to the final drive for Washington, too.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: They were in the red zone and just couldn't convert.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: And I think Washington is due for a huge win.
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: Iowa already had their huge win.
- 32:51SPEAKER_01: It was at Michigan, even though Michigan's not the Michigan we thought they were gonna be.
- 32:54SPEAKER_04: We don't know what they're doing.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: But it's still a big win, regardless, to go in the big house and beat Michigan.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: It's a huge win for Iowa.
- 33:00SPEAKER_01: Coming off that loss against Ohio State.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: I think Washington's just more due for a bounce back win than Iowa is.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna go with Washington here to get the job done.
- 33:09SPEAKER_01: Staying on Friday night, we got another Iowa team going on the road out west.
- 33:13SPEAKER_01: They're playing the number eight BYU Cougars, who survived a little bit of a scare against TCU last week.
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: BYU opens as 10.5 point favorites at home.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with the Cougars in this one.
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: BYU's looked pretty good in the Big 12, in my opinion, just kind of a weak conference overall.
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: I got BYU.
- 33:30SPEAKER_04: I mean, if I'm taking Washington over Iowa, I gotta take BYU over Iowa State.
- 33:34SPEAKER_04: Iowa's already beat Iowa State this year, and BYU is better than Washington, so I'm going BYU.
- 33:40SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 33:41SPEAKER_06: Simple as simple as that.
- 33:43SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah.
- 33:44SPEAKER_03: Not much to talk about here.
- 33:46SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm not a BYU believer, but they're just good at football, I guess, now.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: Well, they were good the past couple years.
- 33:53SPEAKER_03: I feel, yeah, but they're always drop down somehow.
- 33:56SPEAKER_03: Lose a couple games out of the playoffs because their schedule's really weak and no one believes.
- 34:02SPEAKER_03: And then they end up losing a bowl game.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: Take Iowa State.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: So are you gonna take Iowa State in this one?
- 34:06SPEAKER_03: Take Iowa State.
- 34:07SPEAKER_03: I'm tempted to.
- 34:08SPEAKER_03: I will tell you, I'm you know what?
- 34:11SPEAKER_03: No, I'm I'm going BYU.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: No, he couldn't, he didn't cave in.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: Alright, we got a BYU sweep for that one.
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: Alright, moving on to Saturday.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: Big noon Saturday.
- 34:20SPEAKER_01: I'm really excited for this game.
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: It's a ranked on unranked, but I'm super excited for this.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: Number seven Indiana going on the road to play Nebraska.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: Both teams 5-0.
- 34:30SPEAKER_01: Indiana has looked a little shaky in a couple games so far this year.
- 34:34SPEAKER_01: Almost lost to Northwestern a couple weeks ago at home.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: Nebraska has looked good for their first five games.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go last on this one.
- 34:45SPEAKER_01: What are your guys' thoughts?
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: Who's gonna win this game?
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: Bei you can start.
- 34:49SPEAKER_03: I uh I mean, yeah, everyone's pointing at me here.
- 34:53SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, any uh like like I said, I've think previously, Kurt Sonetti is just they are a really disciplined football team.
- 35:01SPEAKER_03: And if you lose your winning streak to a Nebraska of all teams, that's not gonna sit well.
- 35:06SPEAKER_03: I mean, I just it is a possible trap game, but Indiana's already started off slow in the past.
- 35:12SPEAKER_03: I don't think they're gonna do it again.
- 35:13SPEAKER_03: Give me Indiana.
- 35:14SPEAKER_03: They got Indiana, okay.
- 35:17SPEAKER_02: Fellas.
- 35:20SPEAKER_02: Peyton's looking.
- 35:21SPEAKER_02: I'm taking Nebraska.
- 35:23SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 35:24SPEAKER_04: I'm taking Nebraska.
- 35:26SPEAKER_04: They Nebraska has a brutal next two games playing Indiana and then at Oregon.
- 35:32SPEAKER_04: This is the game they have to win.
- 35:34SPEAKER_04: Indiana has not looked great um to start the year.
- 35:37SPEAKER_04: They've had a couple close games, and I just do not believe they're gonna get the win at Oregon.
- 35:42SPEAKER_04: So this is a game that they have to circle in their schedule.
- 35:45SPEAKER_04: They have to get a a huge program win against Indiana.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: This would be a program changing win.
- 35:50SPEAKER_04: And I think they're gonna do it.
- 35:51SPEAKER_04: I think they're gonna win to get a win at home.
- 35:55SPEAKER_04: And I mean, who knows what's gonna happen to Big Ten if Nebraska wins this game, and I just wanna see that.
- 36:00SPEAKER_04: I want to see the Big Ten in shambles now that Michigan's pretty much out of it.
- 36:05SPEAKER_04: I want to see chaos.
- 36:06SPEAKER_04: I agree.
- 36:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'm picking the Corn Huskers.
- 36:09SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I think uh Indiana's seven and a half point favorites right now.
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, seven point five for Indiana.
- 36:15SPEAKER_06: Um I'll tell you what, I would pick Nebraska in this scenario, but um it's gonna be a close game.
- 36:24SPEAKER_06: I really think it's I really think Indiana's just a better team, so I'm gonna pick Indiana for this one.
- 36:30SPEAKER_06: Again, they just have the weapons, they have the firepower.
- 36:33SPEAKER_06: I mean, it's hard to go and pick against the Rainy National Champions week in and week out.
- 36:41SPEAKER_06: Both teams are looking good, both teams are 5-0.
- 36:45SPEAKER_06: Um I think that honestly, I think Oregon's a little bit easier of a team to beat than Indiana.
- 36:52SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 36:52SPEAKER_01: But at Oregon, though?
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's at Oregon.
- 36:58SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
- 36:59SPEAKER_06: I'm just not on the Nebraska hype train.
- 37:01SPEAKER_06: Not either.
- 37:03SPEAKER_06: I saw them play.
- 37:04SPEAKER_06: Yeah, they play good against MSU, but they're better.
- 37:07SPEAKER_01: That's also a Michigan State, not an Indiana.
- 37:09SPEAKER_06: Exactly.
- 37:10SPEAKER_06: It's not Indiana, it's not Kurt Signetti.
- 37:12SPEAKER_06: I mean, I just I find it difficult to pick against that man, so I'm gonna go pick Indiana for this game.
- 37:18SPEAKER_03: Also, I thought about this too.
- 37:20SPEAKER_03: You know who Indiana State not Indiana you know who Indiana has next week?
- 37:25SPEAKER_03: Who's that?
- 37:26SPEAKER_03: Ohio State.
- 37:27SPEAKER_03: Yes, I'm thinking it's ahead game.
- 37:30SPEAKER_03: So I think they're gonna take the L at Ohio State.
- 37:34SPEAKER_04: And then I think they'll have the opposite logic.
- 37:36SPEAKER_04: You think you I think they'll win this week.
- 37:39SPEAKER_04: I think the opposite.
- 37:40SPEAKER_04: I think what what Novak was talking about, you know, you know, because that's a that's a huge game for them.
- 37:45SPEAKER_04: All right, they're gonna be a good thing.
- 37:46SPEAKER_04: That's focused on that game.
- 37:47SPEAKER_04: Big big focus on Ohio State, the best team they're probably gonna play in the whole regular season.
- 37:52SPEAKER_04: And you got a 5-0 team right in front of you that's playing good football, and you're not really expecting a close game.
- 37:57SPEAKER_03: I think they do though, because Nebraska has just been straight up playing good football.
- 38:02SPEAKER_03: And like I've said, Kurt Sanetti is not that type of coach to just let a team be on discipline during like a week, full week of practice and say, like, yeah, it's Nebraska, we're gonna win this game.
- 38:11SPEAKER_03: He's gonna make sure they go 100% every single rep, every single practice, and be like, yeah, we need to take this team down.
- 38:18SPEAKER_03: Worry about this team.
- 38:20SPEAKER_03: It's a good, valuable team.
- 38:21SPEAKER_03: They can go to Ohio State and take care of it.
- 38:24SPEAKER_06: I mean, you take you talk about a coach that just brings Indiana, college football, and goes wins a national championship against another team.
- 38:32SPEAKER_06: It's hard to bet against that guy.
- 38:34SPEAKER_06: Straight up.
- 38:35SPEAKER_06: So, yeah, I agree with Fehey here.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: I love the reasoning from all of you here.
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: This this is this is probably like the most debate we've had on a singular game so far throughout this podcast series.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: And Feehee, you brought up a huge point right there, with Ohio State being next on the schedule for Indiana after Nebraska.
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: I still feel like with how college football is, Indiana could treat this Nebraska game as almost a look-ahead game because Ohio State's next week.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: I was going to go Indiana, but I'm gonna go Nebraska just for that big reason that Indiana's got Ohio State next week.
- 39:18SPEAKER_01: This is already a trap game in and of itself, with it being at Nebraska, Nebraska being 5-0, this is already a trap game on its own.
- 39:26SPEAKER_01: But with how big of a game Indiana's got the following week, I would not be shocked at all if they come out sluggish.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: And this is a look-ahead game, looking ahead to Ohio State after Nebraska, and Nebraska comes out and bites them.
- 39:39SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take Nebraska in the upset here on big noon, and it's gonna be the biggest win in Matt Roll's coaching career with the Corn Huskers ever.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: That's gonna be a fun one for sure.
- 39:50SPEAKER_06: Hot take.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: Hey, we got two and two.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: Me and P.
- 39:53SPEAKER_01: Rich riding with Nebraska, Nutt and Fahy riding with Indiana.
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: So we'll see what happens on Saturday.
- 39:59SPEAKER_01: Alright, going to the SEC, another game at noon.
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: Texas AM has been a huge disappointment this year, unranked.
- 40:05SPEAKER_01: Going on the road to number 14, Missouri, after their blowout win of Florida.
- 40:11SPEAKER_01: Missouri only opens as three and a half point favorites, though, in this game.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: Who do we got?
- 40:15SPEAKER_04: I kind of like, I mean, there's a train riding around.
- 40:18SPEAKER_04: I mean, it went from LSU to Ole Miss to Florida now to Missouri.
- 40:25SPEAKER_04: I'm taking Texas AM.
- 40:26SPEAKER_04: Let's keep it rolling.
- 40:27SPEAKER_04: I mean, there's something brewing in SEC.
- 40:29SPEAKER_04: I think it's just gonna keep on going.
- 40:30SPEAKER_04: I'm taking Texas AM.
- 40:32SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I do think uh Texas AM is gonna pull down.
- 40:36SPEAKER_06: I I completely agree with Payton.
- 40:37SPEAKER_06: I mean, we talk about like the highs to lows, highs to lows, highs to lows, and uh I think now it's just Missouri that's just gonna go get that bug now, too.
- 40:46SPEAKER_04: I mean, they always Missouri always finds a way to just be average.
- 40:50SPEAKER_04: They always find a way to end up around 20 to 25 in the rankings.
- 40:54SPEAKER_04: 14's too high, they gotta lose one game this year.
- 40:57SPEAKER_04: It's gonna be Texas AM.
- 41:00SPEAKER_03: Becky, go ahead.
- 41:01SPEAKER_03: I feel like any other team other than Tennessee and M, I would pick the other than Missouri, because they are coming off that huge win, and it's uh obviously gonna be like a downgrade.
- 41:12SPEAKER_03: They can't play any better than what they just did, honestly.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they couldn't do anything wrong against Florida.
- 41:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but I mean Tennessee and M, they lost to Kentucky at home when they're the ninth ranked team, and they just that was a terrible game.
- 41:24SPEAKER_03: They got destroyed by LSU, the the wheat pri um, that's sweet.
- 41:29SPEAKER_03: Then they came back and it's Arkansas, but Arkansas is Arkansas.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Arkansas's the worst team in the SEC.
- 41:34SPEAKER_03: I just don't This is one of those where I can literally flip a coin and I can go either way, truly.
- 41:39SPEAKER_01: Well, flip that coin and give me a heads or tails.
- 41:41SPEAKER_01: Heads is Texas AM and Tails is Missouri.
- 41:44SPEAKER_01: Let's flip that coin really quick.
- 41:46SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna flip it.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: He's actually flipping a coin on his phone.
- 41:52SPEAKER_01: I love this.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: This has been a great episode so far, and we're only about like two-thirds of the way done, guys.
- 41:57SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 41:58SPEAKER_03: Whose heads, whose tails?
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: Texas AM's heads, Missouri's tails.
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: It's heads.
- 42:02SPEAKER_03: Texas AM W.
- 42:04SPEAKER_03: The logo with AM.
- 42:05SPEAKER_03: I mean.
- 42:07SPEAKER_03: I mean, no, I'm 50-50.
- 42:08SPEAKER_03: I mean, whoever wins, I'm not surprised.
- 42:12SPEAKER_01: I love the point that Peyton and Nutt brought up just a minute or two ago.
- 42:17SPEAKER_01: There has been a trend.
- 42:18SPEAKER_01: There has been a highs and lows trend.
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: Ole Miss gets the huge W against LSU, loses to Florida.
- 42:24SPEAKER_01: That's a big win for Florida.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: Then they go and play Missouri, who's another solid team.
- 42:28SPEAKER_01: They lose, but that's a big win for Missouri.
- 42:30SPEAKER_01: Texas AM is not a bad team.
- 42:32SPEAKER_01: Marcel Reed is still their quarterback.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: He's still a game changer at the QB position.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: Texas AM is gonna go into Missouri and shock them.
- 42:41SPEAKER_01: AM is gonna win this game against Missouri.
- 42:43SPEAKER_01: This is Missouri's letdown game.
- 42:45SPEAKER_01: It's gonna happen.
- 42:46SPEAKER_01: Aggies win.
- 42:47SPEAKER_01: I think we got a sweep across the board for Texas AM for this one.
- 42:49SPEAKER_01: It's crazy as the underdog in an underdog sweep.
- 42:53SPEAKER_06: Three and a half point favorites?
- 42:54SPEAKER_01: It's only three and a half, so I would not be shocked at all.
- 42:58SPEAKER_01: Here we go.
- 43:00SPEAKER_01: Alright, this one should be a little bit more straightforward.
- 43:03SPEAKER_01: Staying at noon.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: We got a big 12 game.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: Number 18 Oklahoma State, hosting UCF.
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: Coming off of a bye week, Oklahoma State should be well rested.
- 43:11SPEAKER_01: Drew Mestemaker, phenomenal quarterback.
- 43:13SPEAKER_01: I think the Cowboys run away with this one against UCF.
- 43:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Oklahoma State's been better than we expected by a landslide.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: Even after the loss to Tulsa, we thought they were gonna be brutal.
- 43:24SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: And all of a sudden they've just come out and started dominating teams, including Oregon.
- 43:28SPEAKER_04: So yeah, I'll take Oklahoma State and I'll have a reason not to.
- 43:32SPEAKER_06: Well said.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: Oklahoma State and I Yeah.
- 43:39SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah, Oklahoma State.
- 43:41SPEAKER_03: I haven't watched a single minute of USC F football, so yeah.
- 43:44SPEAKER_06: Fair enough.
- 43:47SPEAKER_06: They're uh the Golden Knights, actually.
- 43:49SPEAKER_06: Rutgers is Scarlet Knights.
- 43:53SPEAKER_06: Okay, JSN.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: Oh man.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: That was a reference to episode two.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Listen to episode two.
- 44:01SPEAKER_01: Go listen to that.
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: That was pretty funny.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: Next game.
- 44:07SPEAKER_01: We're going to the ACC now.
- 44:08SPEAKER_01: We're kind of covering all the conferences.
- 44:10SPEAKER_01: We got number 25 Pittsburgh in the rankings for the first time this week, hosting North Carolina, who's been kind of a roller coaster team this year.
- 44:16SPEAKER_01: They just lost to Notre Dame, and it was actually a pretty competitive game last week.
- 44:20SPEAKER_01: Pitt opens his three and a half point favorites at home.
- 44:23SPEAKER_01: Who do we got here?
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: Tar Heels or Panthers?
- 44:27SPEAKER_03: You know, I'll just open it up with a bang.
- 44:29SPEAKER_03: Give me the Tar Heels.
- 44:30SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 44:31SPEAKER_01: I like that.
- 44:31SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, Pittsburgh hasn't played no right to pony yet.
- 44:35SPEAKER_03: And North Carolina just played Notre Dame.
- 44:37SPEAKER_03: And they had it, I mean.
- 44:39SPEAKER_01: They they gave him a fight.
- 44:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they actually gave him a decent fight.
- 44:42SPEAKER_03: That's definitely a difference of opponents from Pittsburgh's.
- 44:45SPEAKER_03: I mean, who would they even play last week?
- 44:48SPEAKER_01: They played a Virginia Tech in a shootout.
- 44:50SPEAKER_01: But here's the thing with Pittsburgh.
- 44:52SPEAKER_01: Their starting quarterback, Mason Heinschel, tore his ACL out for the season.
- 44:56SPEAKER_01: So they've got a backup plan for the rest of the year.
- 44:57SPEAKER_01: Keep that in mind.
- 44:58SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 44:59SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, that's why the spread was so close either way.
- 45:01SPEAKER_03: I figured something was going on.
- 45:03SPEAKER_03: But yeah, it did me the tar heels either way.
- 45:05SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 45:06SPEAKER_04: I mean, I just can't pick Bill Belichick to lose against Pittsburgh.
- 45:10SPEAKER_04: So I'm gonna pick North Carolina.
- 45:12SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: We got two tar heel picks.
- 45:15SPEAKER_01: Not what do we got?
- 45:16SPEAKER_07: Um was the game again?
- 45:19SPEAKER_01: North Carolina and Pitt.
- 45:21SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I mean, I I don't think Pittsburgh is a good team.
- 45:25SPEAKER_06: I think UNC is probably clear front runner here, you know, Bill Belichick and and whatnot, but yeah, give me UNC.
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: I think it's as simple as, even though Pittsburgh got the win last week at Virginia Tech, who was undefeated.
- 45:37SPEAKER_01: I think it's as simple as Pitts playing with a backup quarterback for the rest of the year.
- 45:40SPEAKER_01: North Carolina's a solid team.
- 45:42SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take the Tar Heels here.
- 45:44SPEAKER_01: Over a Panthers team that's really banged up without their starting QB, Mason Heinschel.
- 45:48SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I mean James Franklin's a coach at Virginia Tech, too.
- 45:51SPEAKER_06: We all know he can't win big games, so it is what it is.
- 45:54SPEAKER_01: A little bit of James Franklin hate.
- 45:56SPEAKER_06: He sucks.
- 45:58SPEAKER_01: Alright, going to the SEC again.
- 46:00SPEAKER_01: South Carolina at number 16, Florida.
- 46:03SPEAKER_01: Florida obviously had that huge loss against Missouri last week.
- 46:06SPEAKER_01: They're due for a bounce back game.
- 46:07SPEAKER_01: South Carolina is at the bottom end of the SEC.
- 46:10SPEAKER_01: I'm taking the Gators here.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: They're probably just gonna run away with this.
- 46:14SPEAKER_03: I'm taking Florida.
- 46:15SPEAKER_03: Florida.
- 46:15SPEAKER_03: I mean, after they blew that game to Kentucky, I'm taking Florida.
- 46:19SPEAKER_01: Yep, South Carolina choked against Kentucky last week, too.
- 46:21SPEAKER_01: Gotta keep that in mind as well.
- 46:23SPEAKER_01: So we got a Florida sweep.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: Easy enough.
- 46:28SPEAKER_01: Red River at 330.
- 46:30SPEAKER_01: Number one Texas against Oklahoma in Dallas.
- 46:34SPEAKER_01: Who do we got in this one?
- 46:35SPEAKER_01: Oklahoma has been awful this year, and Texas number one team in the country.
- 46:39SPEAKER_01: So what are we looking at?
- 46:42SPEAKER_01: It is a rivalry game.
- 46:43SPEAKER_04: I want to think Oklahoma is still good because, you know, it's the only fun game I've watched Michigan play this year.
- 46:51SPEAKER_04: You know, this is a kind of a little side note, but I'm just happy Michigan's playing a bye this this week, so we can't lose.
- 46:57SPEAKER_04: Um I've seen some stuff.
- 46:59SPEAKER_03: They might I'm taking Texas.
- 47:03SPEAKER_04: Hook 'em.
- 47:04SPEAKER_03: Hook 'em.
- 47:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Texas.
- 47:06SPEAKER_03: John Matier sucks.
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: Alright, Texas sweep.
- 47:09SPEAKER_01: Pretty self-explanatory.
- 47:12SPEAKER_01: We got Stanford going on the road to play number three Notre Dame.
- 47:15SPEAKER_01: Davis Warren in the fight in Stanford Cardinal playing CJ Carr and probably one of the Eisman favorites as well, CJ Carr.
- 47:23SPEAKER_01: Uh, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
- 47:25SPEAKER_01: Notre Dame is almost a 40-point favorite.
- 47:28SPEAKER_01: They're gonna dominate.
- 47:30SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 47:30SPEAKER_03: It's not gonna be close.
- 47:32SPEAKER_01: Stanford's back end of the ACC.
- 47:33SPEAKER_01: Notre Dame's one of the best teams in the country.
- 47:35SPEAKER_01: Pretty self-explanatory.
- 47:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Notre Dame.
- 47:38SPEAKER_01: Trich?
- 47:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'll take Notre Dame.
- 47:40SPEAKER_01: Just give me the Notre Dame.
- 47:42SPEAKER_04: I wanna I was thinking of a way I could spin it, but I just can't.
- 47:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, Davis Warren's a buckeye slayer.
- 47:49SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 47:49SPEAKER_06: Join a conference, uh.
- 47:51SPEAKER_06: Join a conference.
- 47:52SPEAKER_01: You say that every week, man.
- 47:54SPEAKER_06: Every week I'm gonna keep saying it.
- 47:56SPEAKER_01: Alright, another SEC matchup.
- 47:58SPEAKER_01: Number nine, Olmis going on the road to take on Vanderbilt.
- 48:00SPEAKER_01: I believe Olmis had a bye week last week, kind of regroup a little bit after the Florida loss.
- 48:05SPEAKER_01: So they're coming out well rested on the road to Nashville to play Vanderbilt.
- 48:09SPEAKER_01: Olmus only opens as nine and a half point favorites.
- 48:11SPEAKER_01: I figured it'd be a little bit more, but I'm still taking Trinidad Chamblist in this one.
- 48:16SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I agree.
- 48:17SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I'll take Olmus.
- 48:19SPEAKER_08: Uh Olmis.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: Easy enough.
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: Big 10 game now.
- 48:23SPEAKER_01: Finally got another rank down ranked one.
- 48:25SPEAKER_01: Number 21 UCLA at number 13, Oregon.
- 48:28SPEAKER_01: UCLA has been a shocker this year.
- 48:30SPEAKER_01: They're undefeated.
- 48:31SPEAKER_01: Bob Chesney has led that program to a lot of success in their first five games.
- 48:36SPEAKER_01: Nico Iamaliava is playing in a very high level at quarterback.
- 48:40SPEAKER_01: And Oregon, even without Dante Moore, they've still got Dylan Rayola that's gonna start this week.
- 48:44SPEAKER_01: Another quarterback with starting experience, knows how to play the game of football pretty well.
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take the Ducks in this one and give UCLA their first loss of the season, but don't expect it to be a blowout.
- 48:54SPEAKER_01: I think it'll be close.
- 48:55SPEAKER_04: Is it at Oregon?
- 48:56SPEAKER_01: It's at Oregon.
- 48:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I mean I can't pick Oregon to lose at home again.
- 49:02SPEAKER_04: Or was it at Oklahoma State they lost?
- 49:04SPEAKER_01: It was at Oklahoma State they lost, yes.
- 49:06SPEAKER_04: I just don't think UCLA is in the same tier as Oregon, unfortunately.
- 49:10SPEAKER_04: I think they're a really good team, but like we talked about with Abbey earlier.
- 49:13SPEAKER_04: There's just tiers of college football, and I don't think UCLA is in the same tier as Oregon.
- 49:17SPEAKER_04: No.
- 49:17SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 49:18SPEAKER_06: How long is uh Dante Moore out for?
- 49:20SPEAKER_06: Did we know it's a good thing?
- 49:20SPEAKER_01: That's a question mark.
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: They were trying to get him back this week.
- 49:23SPEAKER_01: It didn't end up working out.
- 49:25SPEAKER_01: He's still going through concussion protocol, so he might be back next week, but we don't know.
- 49:29SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 49:30SPEAKER_06: Uh yeah, I mean, Oregon's gonna win this football game.
- 49:33SPEAKER_06: It's gonna be a close game, though.
- 49:34SPEAKER_06: Well, I mean, let's not let's not jump like they're gonna go win by, you know, three touchdowns, but it's gonna be a close game.
- 49:40SPEAKER_06: It's gonna be a competitive game, but it's hard to pick the ducks, you know, like you said.
- 49:45SPEAKER_06: It's hard for them to lose at home overall.
- 49:48SPEAKER_01: Alright, we got three Oregon picks.
- 49:49SPEAKER_01: Fehi going with the fourth.
- 49:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I can't bring myself to pick the upset here.
- 49:53SPEAKER_03: UCLA has played absolutely no one yet, and Ordin's just better.
- 49:56SPEAKER_03: So give me Ordon.
- 49:58SPEAKER_01: Alright, Big 12 game.
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: Number 22 Houston on the road to Kansas State.
- 50:02SPEAKER_01: Kansas State actually opens as two and a half point favorites here.
- 50:04SPEAKER_01: Kind of shocks me a little bit because Kansas State's average.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: They're about average in the Big 12.
- 50:10SPEAKER_01: Houston is pretty solid.
- 50:12SPEAKER_01: They have one loss on the year, and it was a heartbreaker to Texas Tech on a failed two-point conversion by about an inch.
- 50:19SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take Houston to win this game.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: I think they're actually a really good football team.
- 50:22SPEAKER_01: Connor Wigman's a good quarterback with a lot of experience.
- 50:24SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take the Cougars in this one.
- 50:26SPEAKER_04: I talked about earlier if an unranked is favorite against a ranked opponent, Vegas knows something.
- 50:30SPEAKER_04: I don't know something.
- 50:32SPEAKER_04: I'm taking Kansas State.
- 50:33SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 50:36SPEAKER_07: I completely agree with you.
- 50:39SPEAKER_07: Okay, they say something because they do want to make money.
- 50:45SPEAKER_07: I mean, never bet against Vegas, man.
- 50:51SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 50:51SPEAKER_01: Two Kansas State picks.
- 50:52SPEAKER_01: Faye, am I gonna be a lone wolf or you're with me?
- 50:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm gonna go Houston here.
- 50:57SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 50:58SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, break that Vegas curse, hopefully.
- 51:01SPEAKER_03: I'm not betting on the game, though.
- 51:03SPEAKER_01: Houston's a great team.
- 51:06SPEAKER_01: Houston's a great team.
- 51:07SPEAKER_01: I mean, I still think they're gonna come out on top with a good road victory.
- 51:12SPEAKER_01: Alright, not a ranked game, but more of a local game.
- 51:15SPEAKER_01: The only one we've got so far this week is Michigan's on a bye.
- 51:18SPEAKER_01: Illinois at Michigan State.
- 51:19SPEAKER_01: If Michigan State's ever gonna have a bounce back win, it's gotta be now, right?
- 51:23SPEAKER_07: I mean, come on, man.
- 51:24SPEAKER_07: You're you're playing Illinois.
- 51:26SPEAKER_07: Let's go, Sparty.
- 51:27SPEAKER_01: Can they tie?
- 51:28SPEAKER_01: Can we just give up?
- 51:30SPEAKER_01: Illinois is a two and a half point favorite at Spartan Stadium, by the way.
- 51:34SPEAKER_01: They're favored.
- 51:34SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 51:35SPEAKER_06: I mean, okay.
- 51:38SPEAKER_06: I think this is the game that Vegas messes up.
- 51:42SPEAKER_06: I hope it is.
- 51:44SPEAKER_06: But give me state.
- 51:45SPEAKER_06: I gotta go.
- 51:46SPEAKER_06: I gotta go for a Michigan team.
- 51:47SPEAKER_06: I mean, that's just I'm gonna go pick the Sparties here.
- 51:50SPEAKER_04: I haven't picked them uh the last couple weeks, so uh I just don't really want to pick Michigan State in a football game.
- 51:57SPEAKER_04: So I'm just gonna pick Illinois because uh Michigan State's just been awful.
- 52:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, go blue.
- 52:05SPEAKER_02: Behey, we got one state, one Illinois.
- 52:11SPEAKER_02: So Illinois?
- 52:12SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 52:13SPEAKER_01: Wow, okay.
- 52:15SPEAKER_01: We got two Illinois.
- 52:16SPEAKER_01: I'll make it a third.
- 52:19SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 52:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, it I agree, Peyton.
- 52:21SPEAKER_01: Being a Michigan fan, it's hard to pick Michigan State in a football game.
- 52:23SPEAKER_01: I do think that if they're going to win any game of Michigan, it's gonna be versus Michigan.
- 52:28SPEAKER_01: It might be versus Michigan.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: But if it's not Michigan, it's this game against Illinois.
- 52:32SPEAKER_01: I just I don't think it's gonna happen just with how banged up Michigan State is.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: And Illinois has got a good quarterback receiver duo in Caden Hauser and Colin Dixon.
- 52:44SPEAKER_01: So I think that's gonna be able to take over this game.
- 52:46SPEAKER_01: They're gonna be able to just outscore Michigan State's offense by a little bit, and I think Illinois is gonna come out on top with a road victory against Michigan State.
- 52:54SPEAKER_01: Staying in the Big Ten, we got Ohio State hosting Maryland.
- 52:58SPEAKER_01: Maryland has looked brutal this year.
- 53:00SPEAKER_01: This is one of the worst Maryland teams we've seen in recent memory.
- 53:03SPEAKER_01: Ohio State's gonna dominate as 34 and a half point favorite.
- 53:06SPEAKER_04: This is kind of a Jeremiah Smith stat padding game, and he's probably gonna have 200 yards and three touchdowns.
- 53:12SPEAKER_04: This is kind of how it is.
- 53:14SPEAKER_04: I mean, Heisman front runner front runner, they're trying to get his stats in, so Ohio State.
- 53:20SPEAKER_06: Until go.
- 53:21SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I mean Ohio State.
- 53:22SPEAKER_06: Not really any uh any thinking behind that.
- 53:25SPEAKER_01: There's not much to say about this game.
- 53:26SPEAKER_01: So Feihi, just shoot me through the hot state, please.
- 53:29SPEAKER_03: Jeremiah Smith.
- 53:30SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: Easy enough.
- 53:33SPEAKER_01: SEC.
- 53:33SPEAKER_01: Number 15 Tennessee at Arkansas.
- 53:35SPEAKER_01: We mentioned earlier Arkansas is probably the worst team in the conference.
- 53:39SPEAKER_01: Tennessee, even though they've looked a little shaky at times, it's still a good football team.
- 53:43SPEAKER_01: They took the number one team, Texas, to the wire a couple weeks ago.
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna take the Vols here.
- 53:50SPEAKER_01: Arkansas just they're not gonna be able to get it done, man.
- 53:52SPEAKER_01: They just don't have the firepower.
- 53:54SPEAKER_01: I'll take Tennessee.
- 53:55SPEAKER_06: Is it at Tennessee?
- 53:57SPEAKER_01: It's at Arkansas, but I don't think it makes a difference.
- 53:59SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 54:00SPEAKER_06: Um, I agree.
- 54:01SPEAKER_06: Um go Rocky Top.
- 54:03SPEAKER_06: Probably one of my favorite teams in the SEC, so let's go with Tennessee.
- 54:07SPEAKER_01: Agreed.
- 54:08SPEAKER_04: Peyton, I was really it's another game, like I was really trying to find a way to craft up an upset take.
- 54:15SPEAKER_04: But I mean, they've walked by 30 to Texas AM, 30 to Georgia, 30 to Utah.
- 54:22SPEAKER_04: So I'm just picking Tennessee.
- 54:24SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah.
- 54:26SPEAKER_03: Losing by 30 to Utah cannot give you any votes.
- 54:30SPEAKER_01: Especially as an SEC team.
- 54:32SPEAKER_01: Let's go Tennessee by 30.
- 54:34SPEAKER_01: Even though Utah's ranked in the top 15, the SEC is historically way better than the Big 12.
- 54:40SPEAKER_01: And if you're getting dominated like that by Utah, that's not a good look for you or your conference.
- 54:44SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 54:45SPEAKER_01: Tennessee across the board here.
- 54:47SPEAKER_01: This one's gonna be interesting.
- 54:49SPEAKER_01: Number 10 LSU at Kentucky, who is unranked now because of the really close game they played against South Carolina, but nonetheless, Kentucky is still a really good team.
- 54:58SPEAKER_01: They're 4-1.
- 54:59SPEAKER_01: LSU, obviously super talented as well, ranked in the top 10.
- 55:04SPEAKER_01: They open as eight and a half point favorites, LSU does.
- 55:07SPEAKER_01: But I don't know, man.
- 55:08SPEAKER_01: Kentucky is still a hard place to win at.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: We've seen a lot of teams in the SEC struggle at Kentucky.
- 55:14SPEAKER_01: And it's a night game as well.
- 55:16SPEAKER_01: It's at 7 p.m.
- 55:17SPEAKER_01: So I'll let you guys pick this first and I'll go last.
- 55:21SPEAKER_04: Is LSU off the bye?
- 55:23SPEAKER_04: No.
- 55:24SPEAKER_04: No.
- 55:24SPEAKER_01: LSU played McNeese State last week.
- 55:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so they're kind of off the bye.
- 55:28SPEAKER_01: Pretty much a bye week.
- 55:29SPEAKER_04: Um I'm just gonna assume that uh LSU I mean had a pretty easy week.
- 55:34SPEAKER_04: I didn't see the score last week.
- 55:36SPEAKER_04: I do know they lost a big piece on defense.
- 55:38SPEAKER_04: Didn't they lose Wit Weeks for the U.S.
- 55:39SPEAKER_04: They did Wit Weeks at the end of the year?
- 55:41SPEAKER_04: So that's a big piece on defense, but uh I think LSU is just more talented than Kentucky.
- 55:46SPEAKER_04: Kentucky has played some, I mean, good games.
- 55:49SPEAKER_04: They played some really good teams close.
- 55:51SPEAKER_04: Um I'm still picking L SU.
- 55:54SPEAKER_06: So we talk about the talent in the SEC with AM loss, right, to Kentucky a couple weeks back.
- 55:59SPEAKER_06: I think the difference in this game is gonna be the poise that Lane Kiffin brings to.
- 56:04SPEAKER_06: They may be down, they may even be down by two scores in this game.
- 56:08SPEAKER_06: But I just don't think that LS it's hard to play good four quarters against a LSU team.
- 56:12SPEAKER_06: I think Lane Kiffin is just once again, say what you want about him off the field.
- 56:16SPEAKER_06: He's one of the best coaches on the field.
- 56:18SPEAKER_06: And that's clear that his players love playing for him and whatnot.
- 56:22SPEAKER_06: So uh give me Lane Kiffin and go Tigers.
- 56:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I feel like LSU on prime time is gonna do wonders for them.
- 56:30SPEAKER_03: They love having the spotlight on them.
- 56:32SPEAKER_01: Especially Lane Kiffin.
- 56:33SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 56:34SPEAKER_03: And I think they'll thrive under pressure because they need this win for the playoffs later down the road.
- 56:39SPEAKER_03: So it'll be LSU.
- 56:40SPEAKER_01: If you if you take a second loss, your playoff hopes aren't shot completely, but they take a huge area.
- 56:47SPEAKER_03: And the SCC they're pretty much.
- 56:48SPEAKER_04: I mean, there's gonna be I don't know.
- 56:50SPEAKER_04: And the SEC is the only conference you can have two losses and still sneak in.
- 56:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 56:55SPEAKER_04: But I mean, you I mean, with the teams they've lost to, Kentucky's not a good enough team to have their second loss.
- 57:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:02SPEAKER_01: As much as I want to pick Kentucky in this game, I just can't.
- 57:05SPEAKER_01: I do think it's gonna be a close game.
- 57:08SPEAKER_01: Not like you said, I do think Kentucky might actually be winning at halftime.
- 57:11SPEAKER_01: That's what they did against Alabama a couple weeks ago.
- 57:13SPEAKER_01: Kentucky was at home against Alabama.
- 57:15SPEAKER_01: They were winning at halftime, and then Alabama came out in the second half and just steamrolled Kentucky, just dominated.
- 57:21SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 57:22SPEAKER_01: I don't think that's exactly what's gonna happen with LSU.
- 57:25SPEAKER_01: I think Kentucky will be winning at halftime.
- 57:27SPEAKER_01: LSU will come out in the second half firing and ready to play.
- 57:30SPEAKER_01: They're not gonna steamroll Kentucky, but I do think they'll play really good football and end up beating Kentucky by multiple scores.
- 57:37SPEAKER_01: LSU is going to win this game in Lexington.
- 57:40SPEAKER_01: A couple more games for the week.
- 57:43SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna save the best for last because we got two more ranked games before this.
- 57:47SPEAKER_01: Actually, three more.
- 57:48SPEAKER_01: Number 19 USC at Penn State.
- 57:51SPEAKER_01: This is a whiteout game for Penn State, so you never know what can happen in the whiteout.
- 57:54SPEAKER_01: This is the first time Penn State's played a whiteout on ranked since 2015, and the last time that happened, they hosted number two Ohio State and beat him in the whiteout.
- 58:04SPEAKER_01: So, and USC is not the same caliber as Ohio State as well.
- 58:08SPEAKER_01: So I might actually take Penn State in this game.
- 58:11SPEAKER_06: I mean, yeah, I'm picking Penn State for multiple reasons.
- 58:15SPEAKER_06: One, it's a whiteout game at home.
- 58:19SPEAKER_06: Two, I just despise USC.
- 58:21SPEAKER_06: They're probably my least favorite team in the Big Ten other than Ohio State, and I'm just gonna be clear about that.
- 58:28SPEAKER_06: So, give me Penn State.
- 58:30SPEAKER_04: This is a big game for Lincoln Riley.
- 58:32SPEAKER_04: I mean He's a hoss.
- 58:33SPEAKER_04: He is.
- 58:34SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 58:35SPEAKER_04: At Penn State, whiteout, I mean, one of the toughest, if not the toughest, atmosphere to play in.
- 58:41SPEAKER_04: But Penn State's just been not great.
- 58:43SPEAKER_04: I mean, USC hasn't been dominant in the last couple of wins, but I still think USC's gonna win.
- 58:49SPEAKER_03: Say he?
- 58:50SPEAKER_03: I mean, Penn State just got blown out by Northwestern.
- 58:53SPEAKER_03: I mean, if that doesn't do anything to you, I don't know what will.
- 58:56SPEAKER_03: That's demoralizing.
- 58:57SPEAKER_06: Can we stop acting like Northwestern's a bad team?
- 59:00SPEAKER_03: Gootball team.
- 59:01SPEAKER_03: They're a good football team.
- 59:03SPEAKER_03: It's still demoralizing.
- 59:04SPEAKER_06: Of course it's demoralizing, but you're acting like they lost to like Northwestern's a quality opponent.
- 59:09SPEAKER_03: You just lost to Northwestern and you're supposed to be the bleed or did it beat USC.
- 59:13SPEAKER_03: So you're taking the Trojans?
- 59:15SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 59:15SPEAKER_01: I want to touch on that really quick.
- 59:17SPEAKER_01: So we got two USC picks, Peyton and Fahy, and then me and Nut are with Penn State here.
- 59:20SPEAKER_01: I want to touch on what you said about that demoralizing loss.
- 59:23SPEAKER_01: Yes, it sucks.
- 59:24SPEAKER_01: You lost to Northwestern on the road, you got dominated by the Wildcats.
- 59:28SPEAKER_01: How do you respond?
- 59:30SPEAKER_01: I think Penn State is gonna respond angry.
- 59:33SPEAKER_01: They're gonna come out in this game with a fire in their guts, ready to play a great football game, and they're gonna feed off that whiteout crowd energy.
- 59:42SPEAKER_03: Exactly, and you're playing at home.
- 59:43SPEAKER_03: They didn't do that after the What Starts game.
- 59:46SPEAKER_01: There's a reason, though, why the whiteout is such a tough environment to play in.
- 59:52SPEAKER_01: Penn State is still historically a good football program.
- 59:55SPEAKER_01: They feed off that whiteout crowd energy like no other.
- 59:59SPEAKER_01: So I think just for that reason and the fact that they are in a must-win scenario right now coming off.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_01: Back-to-back losses, Penn State's gonna win this game against USC in that whiteout.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_01: I think it's gonna be a phenomenal game, phenomenal atmosphere, and Penn State's gonna come out on top.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_01: Alright, now in the Big 12, we got number 12 Utah hosting Kansas at 1015.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be a late night game out west.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_01: I think Utah's gonna dominate this game.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_01: Kansas is not great.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_01: They're mid-table in the Big 12.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_01: Utah's gonna win.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_04: I'm taking Utah too.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_04: Utah's just looked pretty good this season, and Kansas hasn't looked great, so just picking Utah.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I think it's a clear, uh, clear front runner there with Utah.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_06: I mean, Kansas is what we think of basketball.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_06: So just gonna leave it there.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_03: Have you guys watched a minute of Utah football?
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_01: Utah's offense is extremely dynamic.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_01: Devin Dampier is a phenomenal dual threat quarterback.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_01: I mean I haven't.
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_01: Devin Dampier is the c Devin Dampier is the quarterback at Utah that Michigan fans and Kyle Winningham was hoping Bryce Underwood would be at Michigan with that offense.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_03: Either way, I am gonna go Utah here.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_03: I think they shouldn't pretty much cruise through this game pretty easily.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_01: Alright, Utah across the board, and pretty self-explanatory.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_01: Number 23, Boise State at Fresno State.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_01: They're only six and a half point favorites.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_01: The Broncos are at Fresno, but I'm still taking the Broncos.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_01: Boise State, probably the best group of six program in the country.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_01: They're gonna win this game.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_04: I still think Boise State should join a Power 4 conference.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_04: Agree.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_04: And I'm picking Boise State again this week.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_06: Yeah, Boise State's always a pretty good football team.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_01: Fehey?
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_01: Oh, he's debating.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_03: I'm tempted to say something really stupid too.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_03: Don't say it.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_06: Speak your mind.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_06: Let the world know, Fayhey.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_06: Come on now.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, man.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_03: But no, I mean, I'm truly look, I was gonna pick Frenzo State, but looking at the schedule and who've they like lost to and who've they competed with, I cannot pick Frenzo State.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_01: What's one of their losses?
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_03: I mean, they got destroyed by USC.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_03: 39-0.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_01: They put up zero against that USC defense.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and every other win is just unranked.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_03: Like San Jose State, Sacramento, Rice, and Washington State.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_03: Just like not a great resume.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_03: So give me some.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_01: Alright, Broncos across the board.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_01: Now I wanted to save this game best for last.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_01: You guys probably already know what the game is.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_01: Number two, Georgia at number six, Alabama.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_01: We remember what happened last time these two teams faced off in Tuscaloosa.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_01: What a game that was in 2024.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_01: Ryan Williams took over in that one.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_01: Georgia almost came back down by what 28-0, I think was the score, and they came back, took the lead, almost won the game.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_01: But Alabama came out on top by one.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_01: Alabama opens as one and a half point favorites at home.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_01: We're set up for another movie type of game in the SEC.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_01: Georgia, Alabama.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_01: Again, who do you guys got in this one?
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_01: It's a coin flip.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_06: Who's uh coming down the track?
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_01: Oh boy.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_01: It's mean machine in the red and black.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_06: Yeah, as Pat McAfee said, give me Alabama.
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_06: Because I do think that Alabama's gonna win this football game.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_04: At home, Alabama just a I mean uprising from the last two years.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_04: They're way better than what they have been.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_04: In 2024, it was Ryan Williams, and in 2026 it's gonna be Ryan Coleman Williams, is gonna make a big play for the Alabama to win the game.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_03: Alright, we got two Bamas.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_03: Bayhee.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_03: I think Bama plays better on the road.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna take Georgia here and be honest.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_03: I think because Bama, as that program, loves to like step up to the occasion and prove who they are.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_03: And Georgia on the road too is really good as well.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_03: Because they always come out flat at home for some reason.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_03: I don't know why.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_03: But they always come out flat.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_03: In the second half, they you know spark it up a little bit, make adjustments, and go out and win the game.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_04: I just want I just want to touch on you're a big believer that I mean Georgia always plays a bad first half of football.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_03: I'm not I'm not a huge I'm just saying like they play they definitely play a better second half than a first half.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_04: So if they go down 14-0 in the first quarter, do you think they can come back against this Alabama team?
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_01: I agree with him on this because you remember what happened last time they were in Tuscaloosa.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_01: I just touched on this a minute ago.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_01: They were on 28-0 and took the lead in the fourth quarter.
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_01: They did lose, but they still came back 28 down, took a 33-28 lead, and it came down to the final drive where they threw a game-losing interception.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_01: But regardless, Georgia's capable of anything.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_01: And I don't know, man.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_01: It's this is, like I said, a coin toss for me.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I did it earlier.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_03: Wanna do it now?
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_01: Nah, I'm not flipping a coin.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go instinct here.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_01: And I'm taking the higher ranked Georgia Bulldogs.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_01: I think Georgia's gonna win on the road.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_01: We're 50-50 here.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_01: Me and Faye riding with Georgia.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_01: Nut and P.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_01: Rich riding with Alabama.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_01: As great of a quarterback as I think Keelan Russell is.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_01: Ryan Williams has not been the same receiver that we saw two years ago when he was a freshman.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_01: I think he's downgraded a little bit.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_01: P.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_01: Rich, you want to say something?
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_04: Ryan Coleman Williams.
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_01: Excuse me.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_01: Sorry about that.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_01: Ryan Coleman Williams.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_01: But no.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_01: Keelan Russell, he's dynamic, no question about it.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_01: But Georgia, they're so consistently in the top five in the country.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_01: And they've lost to Bama the past two years.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_01: They lost in Tuscaloosa two years ago at Georgia last year.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_01: I think they're gonna come out on top this year and finally avenge their loss against the Crimson type.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_01: That's enough for the college football side of things.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_01: A lot of games this week.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_01: Let's jump into NFL now.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_01: Make some quick picks with this.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_01: Starting with Thursday night football, Tampa Bay at Dallas.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_01: Tampa Bay has been a huge disappointment this year.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_01: One of the five 0 4 teams this year.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_01: Cowboys have a dynamic offense.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_01: Going Dallas here.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, I don't believe in Jaden Daniels.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_04: I also don't believe in Jalen Daniels.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_04: So um going Dallas.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_06: Yeah, probably Cowboys here.
- 1:05:59SPEAKER_03: Cowboys lose some.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_03: Stupid games, dude.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_03: They lost some stupid games.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_03: Truly.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_03: But the butts have just been played so bad.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_03: Like I cannot pick them too many cowboys.
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_06: I yeah.
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_06: I think quite literally any other opponent in the NFL.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_06: I'm not sure.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_04: Somebody would have picked against the Cowboys if it was anybody else, but the Buccaneers have been awful.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_03: I would have probably a QB with two working eyes, I think.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_03: I'll pick that team.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_03: Not the buttons.
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_01: We got all cowboys here.
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_01: Faye, I really thought you were going to go Buccaneers right there, but not quite.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_01: You'll be surprised later.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_01: I know I will.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_01: I know you.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_01: No one to the Sunday slate.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_01: We got another London game.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_01: It's London's own faithful Jacksonville Jaguars against the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_01: Jaguars have looked good.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_01: Eagles have not.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_01: And I don't think Saquon Barkley or Tank Bigby are going to play this week for Philly.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_01: I'm going to go Jacksonville here.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_06: I think Devonta Smith might be out this week.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_06: Yeah, if he's out, the Eagles have no chance.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_06: He's out.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_06: He's out.
- 1:06:56SPEAKER_06: Yeah, so Devonta Smith is out.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_06: Saquon Barkley's out.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_06: I mean.
- 1:07:00SPEAKER_01: Will Shipley is the running back of choice for the Eagles.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_06: I mean Johnson just retired.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_04: Here's the only thing we're not going to do.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_04: I agree.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_04: The Jags are going to win.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_04: I'm a huge Jags believer.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_04: I've said every week.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_04: Saquon Barkley hasn't done anything anyway.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_04: It doesn't matter.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_04: It doesn't matter who's that running back.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_04: If Saquon Barkley is a good one.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_06: Game plan for it.
- 1:07:26SPEAKER_06: You're telling me that's Saquon Barkley is a bad running back in the NFL.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_04: No, I'm just saying that their offense has not been productive at all to start the year.
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_06: And it's going to be less productive with that player not on the field.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_06: Same with Devonta Smith.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_06: You're the Jax.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_06: Yeah, go Jax.
- 1:07:41SPEAKER_06: And then Lane Johnson, by the way.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_06: Oh, yeah.
- 1:07:44SPEAKER_06: Retired.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_06: Just a quarter of the way through the season.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_01: He doesn't want to deal with the struggles instead of the biggest.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_06: I don't blame him at all.
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_06: And so now you're missing a veteran offensive lineman, a center at that, right?
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_06: Or is he out of right tackle?
- 1:07:58SPEAKER_06: You the tackle.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, left tackle.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_06: Okay, so veteran offensive lineman.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_06: You're missing that on the line now, okay?
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_06: And you know, we know Jalen Hurts doesn't play well under pressure.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_06: We we know that.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_06: Uh Jacksonville is definitely gonna go win this game.
- 1:08:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Super Bowl.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_06: Super Bowl MVP.
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_06: But I mean, under you're not understanding what I'm saying.
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_06: Not like the He doesn't have the same game that he had in the game pressure.
- 1:08:22SPEAKER_01: Okay, we got uh three Jacksonville's Faye.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_01: You made that way too complicated.
- 1:08:27SPEAKER_01: Just give me the Jaguars, please.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_01: Now we're going to NFC North.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_01: Chicago and Green Bay.
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_01: Green Bay has been meh this year.
- 1:08:38SPEAKER_01: They've got problems across the board on both sides of the ball.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_01: Did come in with a win last week, though it was against the Measley Bucks.
- 1:08:45SPEAKER_01: Chicago's 3-1.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_01: I've got two wins with backup quarterbacks, two different backup quarterbacks at that.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_01: On the road at Lambo.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_01: I I don't know though.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_01: Just because Chicago struggles at Lambeau historically.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_01: But the Packers just aren't that good.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with the Bears.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_01: They're one and a half point favorites, but I wouldn't be shocked if the Packers pull off the upside here.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_06: Is Caleb Williams still out?
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_06: No, they're both.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_06: His hamstring sealed again?
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_01: No, he's out.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_06: He's out still.
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_01: So it's Tyson Bajet again.
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_06: I mean, probably the Packers here.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_01: Packers.
- 1:09:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_04: You know, there's a saying in the NFL, every backup quarterback is good for one week.
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_04: They used Key Skeetum's week and they used Tyson Bajet's week.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_01: Well, Tyson Bajet didn't even win that game for Chicago.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_01: It was the defense.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_01: Chicago's defense played great.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_04: But either way, I I mean, it's just a game the Packers have to win.
- 1:09:37SPEAKER_04: They have to win this game if they want to get back into the season.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_04: So I'm picking the Packers.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_03: I'm taking the Packers too.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_03: Oh my, I'm a lone wolf here.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_01: Bro, it's Tyson Bajit.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_01: They got the win with Tyson last week.
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, barely.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_01: They beat the Jets, who is basically on the same caliber as the Packers right now because they went to overtime against each other.
- 1:09:59SPEAKER_03: And like I did.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_03: The Patchers, it's the Bears struggle on Lambeau so bad historically.
- 1:10:05SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_01: They're gonna break the curves this week.
- 1:10:08SPEAKER_03: I mean, they're a big deal.
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_03: But Tyson's bansy, they're gonna break the curse.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_04: They're a deep in Ben Johnson's head.
- 1:10:13SPEAKER_06: He hates those guys.
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_04: As he put eloquently.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_06: He's not a fan.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm the lone wolf here.
- 1:10:22SPEAKER_01: I'm the only Bears believer in this week.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_01: Don't get me wrong, I want to pick neither of these teams.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_01: I can't stand either of them.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_01: But I'm going with the Bears.
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_01: Everybody else is against me going with the Packers.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_01: So we'll see what happens on Sunday.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_03: I'm being honest.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_03: The fact that you're picking the Bears makes me stay with the Padgers.
- 1:10:38SPEAKER_01: What is that supposed to mean?
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_03: It means that I want you to be the lone wolf and have your moment.
- 1:10:43SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_01: Watch the Bears win.
- 1:10:45SPEAKER_01: You guys are gonna be looking at me like that.
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_01: Then you have your moment.
- 1:10:47SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 1:10:48SPEAKER_01: I'll take my moment.
- 1:10:50SPEAKER_01: Alright, AFC South.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_01: Two teams that are just awful.
- 1:10:54SPEAKER_01: Two 0-4 teams right here.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_01: One of them we didn't expect to be 0-4.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_01: The Houston Texans at the Tennessee Titans.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_01: The Texans were supposed to have a Super Bowl defense, quote unquote, coming into this season.
- 1:11:05SPEAKER_01: It just hasn't showed up.
- 1:11:07SPEAKER_01: And then the Titans are what we expected them to be.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_01: Houston does open a seven and a half point favorites, though.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_01: Who do we got?
- 1:11:14SPEAKER_04: Um I'm picking the Texans.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_04: It's time for them to make their first win.
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_04: Hopefully.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_04: Hopefully.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_04: The defense has not looked like we we all thought it was going to.
- 1:11:25SPEAKER_01: It's looked worse than even last year's defense.
- 1:11:27SPEAKER_04: So um, yeah, picking the Texans.
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I mean it's just hard to get excited about the Tennessee Titans.
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_06: I mean, week in, week out.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_06: I mean Give me the Texans, but again, so one team's gotta win this game, and it probably will be the Texans just because they're probably the better opponent.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_03: Faye here, we're gonna have more Cam Ward hate this week.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_03: Um, I mean, I don't know how what to say about him.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_03: He's not good.
- 1:11:54SPEAKER_03: And I mean he played a pretty good game last week, didn't he?
- 1:11:58SPEAKER_03: No, not really.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_06: I think he did.
- 1:12:03SPEAKER_03: I mean, he had a garbage time touchdown.
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_03: I mean, that doesn't does that really count?
- 1:12:07unknown: Yeah.
- 1:12:08SPEAKER_04: Counts on the stat sheets.
- 1:12:09SPEAKER_04: I mean counts.
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_04: It's 18 minutes of football that was played.
- 1:12:12SPEAKER_03: If you if your only touchdown is a garbage time touchdown, that's not good.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_04: I mean, they I mean they only lost the Ravens, who are a good team by six points.
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, after Lamar like killed his ankle in the like second quarter.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_03: That is true.
- 1:12:26SPEAKER_01: Lamar didn't play for about half that game.
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, if you can't take care of business when Lamar like basically snaps his ankle in half, you're not gonna take care of business when CJ Stroud's actually playing decent football.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_03: Don't give me the test.
- 1:12:39SPEAKER_03: Even though their defense has looked bad.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_01: I I can't ride for the Titans.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_01: I can't ride with the Titans for the life of me here.
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_01: I'm going with the Texans.
- 1:12:45SPEAKER_01: They're gonna get their first someone's gonna get their first win of the season here.
- 1:12:48SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be the Texans.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_04: They could tie.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_04: Or it might not have a tie.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_01: I it's not gonna tie.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_01: There's no way it ties, right?
- 1:12:53SPEAKER_01: We gotta tie eventually.
- 1:12:55SPEAKER_01: Not every season.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_01: Somebody's gotta tie.
- 1:12:57SPEAKER_01: Not every season.
- 1:13:00SPEAKER_01: Well, regardless, I think we're all riding with the Texans.
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_04: I would pick Michigan to tie against the bye week.
- 1:13:07SPEAKER_01: That could happen, man.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_03: Bryce on the world to throw three pits.
- 1:13:10SPEAKER_01: Bryce on the world to throw three picks to the air.
- 1:13:12SPEAKER_01: But to the practice board.
- 1:13:15SPEAKER_01: Besides the point, Texans are going to beat the Titans here.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_01: We're going to sweep across the board.
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_01: Let's focus on the NFL, fellas.
- 1:13:22SPEAKER_01: We got Bengals at Dolphins for the next week.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_01: The Dolphins, even though they're 0-4, I'm actually shocked, have been playing some okay football and are playing some close games.
- 1:13:31SPEAKER_01: They played the Vikings close last week, only lost by five.
- 1:13:34SPEAKER_01: They played the Chiefs actually pretty close a couple weeks ago, shockingly.
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_01: But again, they just don't have the firepower to get it done on either side of the ball.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_01: They probably have the worst roster in the NFL.
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with the Bengals here.
- 1:13:48SPEAKER_01: Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, T.
- 1:13:50SPEAKER_01: Higgins are gonna go off on that offense.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_01: I'll take CNC.
- 1:13:52SPEAKER_03: Is Jamar Chase like he's out, right?
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_04: No, I think he's questionable.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_04: He's questionable.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_04: T.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_04: Higgins and Jamar Chase are both questionable.
- 1:13:58SPEAKER_04: They'll play.
- 1:13:59SPEAKER_04: But um, I mean, losing A-Chain, obviously, is a huge terrible for the only playmaker on their offense.
- 1:14:07SPEAKER_04: And this is a must-win game for the Bengals because they have to get back in the division.
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_04: Ollie Gordon put up like a hundred yards last week.
- 1:14:13SPEAKER_04: It's okay, so it's the same argument you had with Taquan Barkley, right?
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's the exact same.
- 1:14:18SPEAKER_04: Just because, you know, someone had production in one game, he's still a playmaker you have to scheme for.
- 1:14:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_06: I agree.
- 1:14:25SPEAKER_06: I I do think that I mean, who's Miami?
- 1:14:27SPEAKER_06: I'm I'm playing against Miami.
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_06: Bengals, Bengals, Bagles.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_06: I do think that the uh the Bengals are gonna win.
- 1:14:32SPEAKER_06: I mean, Jamar Chase, T.
- 1:14:34SPEAKER_06: Higgins on the outside, both.
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_06: I mean, T.
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_06: Higgins could be a wide receiver one on a multiple different teams, and Joe Burrow's gonna get them the ball one way or another.
- 1:14:41SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_06: Both those guys throw it up, they're down there somewhere.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_06: Joe Burrow and they're gonna go win.
- 1:14:47SPEAKER_03: I mean Dolphins lost to a team that didn't score a touchdown.
- 1:14:51SPEAKER_03: Five straight field goals.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_03: I mean, true.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_03: Okay, that takes talent, man, but the Spangles team finds ways to lose.
- 1:15:00SPEAKER_02: Against Miami, though?
- 1:15:02SPEAKER_03: That's that's the conflict.
- 1:15:03SPEAKER_03: And I think one of these winless teams gotta break out of it.
- 1:15:06SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna it's gonna be the Titans.
- 1:15:08SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be the it's gonna be the Texans exactly.
- 1:15:10SPEAKER_03: I mean, other than the obvious convicted win.
- 1:15:13SPEAKER_03: But I don't think it's gonna happen just yet.
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_03: Give me the Bengals.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_01: If you picked Miami there, I would have been very concerned.
- 1:15:19SPEAKER_01: So thank you for not doing that.
- 1:15:21SPEAKER_01: I was close.
- 1:15:23SPEAKER_01: We got a good game right here, though, in the one o'clock slate.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_01: This one's gonna be good.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_01: The Raiders on the road at the Patriots.
- 1:15:28SPEAKER_01: The Patriots had a huge win.
- 1:15:31SPEAKER_01: It was essentially like a must-win, even though you don't want to say that this or this early in the season, that was essentially a must-win game against Buffalo.
- 1:15:38SPEAKER_01: Vegas stu suffered their first loss of the season last week against Kansas City in a very hard-fought game.
- 1:15:44SPEAKER_01: They lost 30 to 27, I believe.
- 1:15:46SPEAKER_01: That was a great football game to watch as well.
- 1:15:48SPEAKER_01: Vegas has been a pleasant surprise.
- 1:15:49SPEAKER_01: They've been playing really good football.
- 1:15:51SPEAKER_01: I think they're gonna bounce right back against this Patriots team that's not on the same caliber as the Chiefs.
- 1:15:56SPEAKER_01: I think the Raiders are gonna win this game in Gillette Stadium.
- 1:16:00SPEAKER_04: I think it kinda just depends what kind of d what Drake May shows up to play football.
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_04: No question.
- 1:16:04SPEAKER_04: Um if the Drake May from last year shows up, the Patriots win the game, but I just don't think he will.
- 1:16:10SPEAKER_04: I think it's gonna be the Raiders.
- 1:16:11SPEAKER_01: Even the Drake May from last week.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_01: He had a great game last week.
- 1:16:13SPEAKER_01: Three touchdown passes.
- 1:16:15SPEAKER_06: No, I think the Patriots might go and squeak this one out.
- 1:16:18SPEAKER_06: Honestly, I think that I think Drake May is gonna start to go and get that confidence back.
- 1:16:22SPEAKER_06: I think last week was a really big confidence booster against the Bills to win a big game like that.
- 1:16:26SPEAKER_06: True.
- 1:16:27SPEAKER_06: And I think that uh the Patriots are gonna kind of continue some of that momentum into this week against that Raiders team.
- 1:16:32SPEAKER_06: And and again, it's just hard to see Kirk Cousins like he's been playing out of his mind, he's been playing great.
- 1:16:37SPEAKER_06: I don't think that production lasts very long.
- 1:16:40SPEAKER_06: I think that a lot of times with Kirk Cousins, we see a good eight weeks of football and then kind of a you know a little taper off to a steep decline towards the end of the season.
- 1:16:49SPEAKER_06: Um But yeah, I think that the um I think the Patriots are gonna go in this one.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_03: The Raiders are a good football.
- 1:16:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're a shocking good football.
- 1:16:59SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't even say completely shocking.
- 1:17:01SPEAKER_03: I mean they have a great young core, their defense means new and approved, solid team.
- 1:17:06SPEAKER_03: And also, I mean, Genty is due for a bounce back week.
- 1:17:10SPEAKER_03: And I'm saying I think that was Drake May's like Super Bowl of the week uh year, honestly.
- 1:17:15SPEAKER_03: Beating a good Bills team at their place.
- 1:17:17SPEAKER_03: That's his like of the year.
- 1:17:20SPEAKER_03: And that was much needed after his first three weeks of play.
- 1:17:22SPEAKER_03: And like we've seen even in college football, like teams having great leads and just falling off a cliff.
- 1:17:28SPEAKER_03: And I think that's gonna be I mean, I don't think it's completely gonna be a fall off a cliff, but I don't think there'll be the Raiders here.
- 1:17:33SPEAKER_03: Give me the Raiders.
- 1:17:34SPEAKER_01: Got the Raiders.
- 1:17:35SPEAKER_01: Alright, not your lone wolf here.
- 1:17:36SPEAKER_01: Got the Patriots, the only one.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_01: Alright, still in the one o'clock slate.
- 1:17:41SPEAKER_01: This is a weird game for me.
- 1:17:44SPEAKER_01: 4-0 Minnesota on the road at New Orleans, who just got boat raced by the Falcons on Monday night football last week.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_01: Give up 45 points.
- 1:17:52SPEAKER_01: B.
- 1:17:53SPEAKER_01: John Robinson went off again.
- 1:17:54SPEAKER_01: Drake London went off again.
- 1:17:56SPEAKER_01: I mean I mean, Brian Robinson went off again, too.
- 1:17:59SPEAKER_01: He had two rushing touchdowns, too.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_03: He had three.
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_01: It was three?
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:18:03SPEAKER_06: Good lord.
- 1:18:05SPEAKER_07: Who do you have in fantasy, Faye?
- 1:18:07SPEAKER_07: Which one?
- 1:18:08SPEAKER_03: I mean, who do you think?
- 1:18:13SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 1:18:14SPEAKER_01: Um, Minnesota, though, they have a great defense, arguably the best defensive unit in the NFL.
- 1:18:19SPEAKER_01: They just don't give up points.
- 1:18:22SPEAKER_01: The first four games they haven't done it at all, and that's what's won them these four games, is that defense.
- 1:18:26SPEAKER_01: But New Orleans, they have a high-powered offense when they want to be.
- 1:18:30SPEAKER_01: Tyler Shuck can be a gunslinger when he wants to be.
- 1:18:33SPEAKER_01: Chrisalave is a playmaker when he wants to be.
- 1:18:36SPEAKER_01: Travis Etienne, not sure if he's healthy or not.
- 1:18:39SPEAKER_01: He's still hurt.
- 1:18:40SPEAKER_01: He's still out.
- 1:18:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:18:41SPEAKER_01: Alvin Kamara is getting up there in age, just not the same playmaker that he was a couple years ago in the backfield.
- 1:18:46SPEAKER_01: And that Minnesota defense, like I said, just dominant.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with the Vikings here.
- 1:18:51SPEAKER_01: They're gonna go 5-0.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_01: As much as I don't want to, being an NFC North rival, taking the Vikings.
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_04: I keep saying I believe in the Saints, and it just never works out for me.
- 1:18:58SPEAKER_04: So one and three, man.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'll pick the Vikings.
- 1:19:02SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:19:02SPEAKER_06: Give me the Vikings here.
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_06: They've been playing good.
- 1:19:06SPEAKER_03: You got the purple mic.
- 1:19:07SPEAKER_03: I do have the purple mic.
- 1:19:09SPEAKER_03: Kyler Murray is just not good at football.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_04: They're four and oh.
- 1:19:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:19:14SPEAKER_04: What more do you want them to do?
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_03: Um, actually score a touchdown.
- 1:19:17SPEAKER_03: Fair enough.
- 1:19:18SPEAKER_03: So I mean, but New Orleans has been so close and has never got the job done.
- 1:19:22SPEAKER_03: And you can't bet on a team that never finishes in game.
- 1:19:26SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna get the Vikings here.
- 1:19:28SPEAKER_01: That would have been a crime if you didn't pick the Vikings with the purple mic.
- 1:19:32SPEAKER_01: But Vikings crossed the board here.
- 1:19:34SPEAKER_01: I'm not shocked.
- 1:19:35SPEAKER_01: Browns at Jets.
- 1:19:37SPEAKER_01: Jets actually open as a favorite in this game.
- 1:19:39SPEAKER_01: They're one and a half point favorites at MetLife.
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_01: The Browns a shocking 3-1 start to the season.
- 1:19:44SPEAKER_01: I still think they're gonna stay hot though.
- 1:19:46SPEAKER_01: Deshaun Watson has been playing really good football.
- 1:19:48SPEAKER_01: He hasn't really turned the ball over.
- 1:19:49SPEAKER_01: That Browns defense is the Browns defense.
- 1:19:52SPEAKER_01: Like we mentioned earlier, they're a top 10 unit in the league.
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_01: Great young receiver core that Fehey mentioned earlier.
- 1:19:57SPEAKER_01: KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston.
- 1:19:59SPEAKER_01: Quinchon Judkins in the backfield.
- 1:20:01SPEAKER_01: They got playmakers.
- 1:20:01SPEAKER_01: Harold Fannon at tight end.
- 1:20:03SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with the Browns.
- 1:20:07SPEAKER_02: Fehey, go ahead.
- 1:20:09SPEAKER_03: I mean, I thought both these teams have losing records, and only one has a losing record.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I didn't think there was gonna be more than a combined two wins between these two teams.
- 1:20:18SPEAKER_03: It just I just this seems confusing because the Browns are playing really well, but also I don't expect them to keep playing that well.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_03: And truly, I don't think the Browns really played that well last week.
- 1:20:31SPEAKER_03: It was just the Steelers did not play good football last week.
- 1:20:33SPEAKER_03: They did not look good at all.
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_03: I mean the Browns are still decent, but I don't think they're as good.
- 1:20:38SPEAKER_03: But they're also playing the Geno Smith Jets.
- 1:20:41SPEAKER_03: And Geno Smith looked awful last week.
- 1:20:43SPEAKER_01: The Jets gave a run to the Packers and the Lions this year, so don't sleep on them.
- 1:20:47SPEAKER_03: The Packers have looked awful, and the Lions defense is the worst of the year.
- 1:20:51SPEAKER_03: So I mean that's pretty bad point, no, I'm gonna be honest.
- 1:20:55SPEAKER_03: Umks, man.
- 1:20:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:20:59SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna have to go with the Browns here, though.
- 1:21:01SPEAKER_03: I I mean I'm not betting on Geno Smith to win a football game.
- 1:21:04SPEAKER_01: So all right, two Browns so far.
- 1:21:09SPEAKER_04: Hello.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_04: I mean they wrote them off and they never wrote back.
- 1:21:13SPEAKER_01: It's like his favorite quote.
- 1:21:15unknown: Yeah.
- 1:21:16SPEAKER_01: Nut.
- 1:21:16SPEAKER_06: I'm honestly I'm with P-Ridge here.
- 1:21:18SPEAKER_06: I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:21:20SPEAKER_06: I think that the Browns are just kind of one of those like magical teams this year that we're seeing for a couple weeks, and then we're like, okay, they're the Browns again.
- 1:21:27SPEAKER_06: As much as I hate to say it, um, it depends on the type of Deshaun Watson we get.
- 1:21:33SPEAKER_02: That is true.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_02: So we got two Jets, two Browns.
- 1:21:38SPEAKER_02: I guess, yeah.
- 1:21:39SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:21:41SPEAKER_01: A couple more one o'clock games.
- 1:21:42SPEAKER_01: Indianapolis at Pittsburgh.
- 1:21:44SPEAKER_01: Pittsburgh's in desperate need of a bounce back win.
- 1:21:46SPEAKER_01: Indianapolis just hasn't looked great compared to the first half team that we saw last year with Indianapolis being like best record in the league in the first half of the NFL last year.
- 1:21:57SPEAKER_01: They haven't looked the same.
- 1:21:59SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take the Steelers for a bounce back win here.
- 1:22:01SPEAKER_01: They're a very inconsistent team.
- 1:22:03SPEAKER_01: They won two weeks ago, they lost last week.
- 1:22:05SPEAKER_01: If they follow that trend, I think they're gonna win again.
- 1:22:08SPEAKER_01: Give me the Steelers.
- 1:22:09SPEAKER_04: I'm picking the Colts and I'm picking JT to dominate.
- 1:22:12SPEAKER_01: Jonathan Taylor legacy game.
- 1:22:15SPEAKER_08: Yeah, Colts.
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, give me the Colts after how the Steelers defense left against Deshaun Watson.
- 1:22:22SPEAKER_03: Give me the Colts.
- 1:22:22SPEAKER_03: Oh, you guys just leaving me uh hanging out to dry here.
- 1:22:25SPEAKER_03: You're picking the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 1:22:27SPEAKER_01: Yes, you're awful.
- 1:22:28SPEAKER_01: They're an inconsistent team.
- 1:22:29SPEAKER_01: They lost last week.
- 1:22:30SPEAKER_01: That means they're gonna win this week, right?
- 1:22:32SPEAKER_03: Following a trend.
- 1:22:33SPEAKER_03: I nah.
- 1:22:34SPEAKER_03: I don't think they go three and two though.
- 1:22:36SPEAKER_03: I think they do.
- 1:22:37SPEAKER_03: They always come from behind.
- 1:22:39SPEAKER_03: They end up being like four and sit like seven, then they randomly just win games, sneak into the playoffs, get blown up by the Bills, and there you go.
- 1:22:48SPEAKER_03: It's a simulation, Novet.
- 1:22:50SPEAKER_01: It's a simulation.
- 1:22:51SPEAKER_01: Alright, I'll be laughing in your face when they win this week.
- 1:22:53SPEAKER_01: Just watch.
- 1:22:54SPEAKER_03: I mean, you picked Iowa to win last week.
- 1:22:56SPEAKER_01: Alright, that's besides the point.
- 1:22:58SPEAKER_01: One more one o'clock game.
- 1:23:00SPEAKER_01: New York Giants at the Washington Commanders got a divisional matchup in the NFC East.
- 1:23:04SPEAKER_01: Washington's actually a three and a half point favorite here.
- 1:23:07SPEAKER_01: The Giants are three and one.
- 1:23:09SPEAKER_01: Keep that in mind.
- 1:23:10SPEAKER_01: Who do we got?
- 1:23:12SPEAKER_01: Picking the Giants.
- 1:23:13SPEAKER_01: Nice Jameis Winston.
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_01: Famous Jameis.
- 1:23:15SPEAKER_06: Famous Jameis.
- 1:23:16SPEAKER_06: Hopefully Scaboo has a big game.
- 1:23:18SPEAKER_03: I just traded away Sadabu because he's not doing good.
- 1:23:22SPEAKER_03: So give me the commanders.
- 1:23:23SPEAKER_03: Jaden Daniels is bad.
- 1:23:25SPEAKER_03: Probably not healthy at this point, but still gimme Jane Daniels.
- 1:23:30SPEAKER_01: Even though Jaden Daniels is gonna be back in playing this week, I'm still picking the Giants for one big reason.
- 1:23:36SPEAKER_01: Malik Neighbors found his stride last week.
- 1:23:39SPEAKER_01: He finally had himself a good game.
- 1:23:42SPEAKER_01: He had over 100 yards receiving.
- 1:23:43SPEAKER_01: He had a touchdown.
- 1:23:44SPEAKER_01: Jameis Winston got him the ball quite a bit.
- 1:23:47SPEAKER_01: He finally found his stride.
- 1:23:48SPEAKER_01: And I love that for Malik Neighbors.
- 1:23:50SPEAKER_01: The biggest playmaker in that offense right now finally found got it going.
- 1:23:55SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna go with the Giants.
- 1:23:56SPEAKER_01: He's gonna Neighbors is gonna keep that momentum rolling.
- 1:23:59SPEAKER_01: Giants are gonna go to four and one.
- 1:24:01SPEAKER_01: Alright, Denver and Los Angeles now into the West Coast games, four o'clock slate.
- 1:24:06SPEAKER_01: I really don't think this one's gonna be competitive.
- 1:24:09SPEAKER_01: Los Angeles has looked horrible for their first four games, their 0-4.
- 1:24:13SPEAKER_01: Denver has a really good defense against a subpar Los Angeles offense.
- 1:24:17SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with the Broncos.
- 1:24:19SPEAKER_04: Denver is changing their play calling on offense this week, and I think it's gonna help them out with scoring in the first half, so I'm picking Denver.
- 1:24:28SPEAKER_06: Denver.
- 1:24:30SPEAKER_03: Give me the charge.
- 1:24:31SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 1:24:32SPEAKER_03: They're gonna get their first win of the season.
- 1:24:33SPEAKER_03: I do.
- 1:24:34SPEAKER_03: I mean, uh seriously, look at their schedule.
- 1:24:36SPEAKER_03: There's no other good time to get it.
- 1:24:38SPEAKER_03: You have to go on the road to Airhead, then you have to go on the road to face the Rams, then you I mean, it's just rough.
- 1:24:45SPEAKER_03: You need a win.
- 1:24:46SPEAKER_03: And I mean I just don't see how this Jim Harbour let like led team.
- 1:24:52SPEAKER_03: Whatever.
- 1:24:53SPEAKER_03: I'm just you know what I mean?
- 1:24:55SPEAKER_03: I just like in the I know you're laughing over there, but I will bring this back up.
- 1:25:01SPEAKER_03: He meant Harbaugh, guys.
- 1:25:02SPEAKER_03: Bo Nitz is not a good quarterback.
- 1:25:05SPEAKER_03: Excuse me.
- 1:25:06SPEAKER_03: He's not.
- 1:25:07SPEAKER_03: I I mean, did he look at this pass in last week?
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_01: He led the Broncos to the AFC championship game last year.
- 1:25:13SPEAKER_03: What is definitely a stretch, my man?
- 1:25:15SPEAKER_03: The Broncos had the best defense last year than the Devons.
- 1:25:19SPEAKER_03: And the thing is, last week, he threw one ball over 10 yards.
- 1:25:24SPEAKER_03: One.
- 1:25:25SPEAKER_03: That is bad.
- 1:25:26SPEAKER_03: Like, that is like I don't know, man.
- 1:25:29SPEAKER_03: I I think that's my that's my spray chart, bro.
- 1:25:33SPEAKER_01: Okay, so you're picking the chargers.
- 1:25:35SPEAKER_01: I think you're crazy for that.
- 1:25:37SPEAKER_01: Lone wolf pick for Faye.
- 1:25:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:25:40SPEAKER_03: Um I'll gladly be the lone wolf, I guess.
- 1:25:42SPEAKER_01: Nut doesn't seem to agree.
- 1:25:44SPEAKER_01: He's cracking up over there.
- 1:25:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, he can crack up all he wants, man, but I know ball.
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, excuse you.
- 1:25:51SPEAKER_01: It says the guy that said James Smith, Jackson Smith and Jigma went to Michigan State.
- 1:25:54SPEAKER_04: Jim Arbor into this.
- 1:25:55SPEAKER_04: Jim Arbor.
- 1:25:57SPEAKER_01: Bro, my bad, I mispronounced the name one time.
- 1:26:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, Jackson Smith and Jigma did not go to Michigan State either, so you can't say you know ball.
- 1:26:04SPEAKER_01: Well, I know ball better than you know, man.
- 1:26:06SPEAKER_01: Excuse you.
- 1:26:07SPEAKER_01: Watch yourself.
- 1:26:10SPEAKER_01: Watch yourself.
- 1:26:11SPEAKER_01: Alright, we got a couple more games.
- 1:26:12SPEAKER_01: Lock in.
- 1:26:12SPEAKER_01: Here we go.
- 1:26:13SPEAKER_01: They're finally to the Lions.
- 1:26:15SPEAKER_01: They're playing the Cardinals on the road at 425.
- 1:26:19SPEAKER_01: Lions are five and a half point favorites.
- 1:26:21SPEAKER_01: This one's gonna be a shootout.
- 1:26:23SPEAKER_01: The Cardinals have a couple playmakers that can catch the football.
- 1:26:25SPEAKER_01: Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 1:26:28SPEAKER_01: when he wants to catch the ball, Michael Wilson.
- 1:26:30SPEAKER_01: Jeremiah loves a good receiving back.
- 1:26:32SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be a shootout.
- 1:26:33SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take the Lions because this is essentially a must-win.
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_04: Before I make my pick, I have a request.
- 1:26:38SPEAKER_04: Sure.
- 1:26:38SPEAKER_04: We have we have another friend in this podcast room.
- 1:26:41SPEAKER_04: Can we have a celeb pick for this just this game?
- 1:26:44SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 1:26:44SPEAKER_01: We have Kale Kaczynski in the room right now, member of the RCU baseball team as well, one of the outfielders.
- 1:26:51SPEAKER_01: He's gonna make a celebrity pick.
- 1:26:52SPEAKER_01: He's hopping on for just a minute.
- 1:26:54SPEAKER_01: Go ahead, Cale.
- 1:26:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, this Lions team.
- 1:26:59SPEAKER_00: There's something special.
- 1:27:01SPEAKER_00: And as soon as that defense clicks, I'm telling you, we're looking at an absolutely groundbreaking Detroit Lions team.
- 1:27:11SPEAKER_00: Give me the Detroit Lions.
- 1:27:14SPEAKER_00: They are going to win this game.
- 1:27:16SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Kale.
- 1:27:17SPEAKER_00: Love the input.
- 1:27:20SPEAKER_07: Now do you?
- 1:27:21SPEAKER_07: So this game is gonna go one of two ways.
- 1:27:26SPEAKER_06: It's either gonna be a great bounce back win for Detroit, and we're gonna see that defense come to play.
- 1:27:31SPEAKER_06: Couple sacks, or we're just gonna go and go drop down to two and three.
- 1:27:36SPEAKER_06: I think that's like it's not gonna be, it's either gonna be a uh shootout and we're gonna lose, or it's not gonna be a close game and we're gonna go win.
- 1:27:45SPEAKER_06: Give me the Lions again.
- 1:27:47SPEAKER_06: I'm never gonna go pick against my Lions, but it's not a game I'm really excited to see overall.
- 1:27:55SPEAKER_06: It's gonna be a nail bitter throughout.
- 1:27:57SPEAKER_01: It's hard to be confident in a Lions team.
- 1:28:00SPEAKER_01: With this defense.
- 1:28:00SPEAKER_01: It's hard to be confident in picking them to win any game.
- 1:28:03SPEAKER_01: Even if it was against the Titans, it's hard to be confident to pick them and win any game.
- 1:28:08SPEAKER_04: So Nut uh actually brought up a great point that the Lions are either going to win or lose this week.
- 1:28:14SPEAKER_03: So phenomenal take.
- 1:28:16SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna go then.
- 1:28:17SPEAKER_03: They can still tie.
- 1:28:18SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna go with the Lions, even though it's I mean it's tough.
- 1:28:22SPEAKER_04: I think Amra St.
- 1:28:23SPEAKER_04: Brown's gonna have a really good breakout game.
- 1:28:25SPEAKER_04: He's gonna catch some passes down the field.
- 1:28:27SPEAKER_04: He needs one.
- 1:28:28SPEAKER_04: And we're gonna somehow, somehow limit Trey McGriagg, McBride.
- 1:28:33SPEAKER_04: I don't know if we can actually do it, but I in my in my mindset, maybe we have a chance.
- 1:28:39SPEAKER_01: Alright, we got three lions.
- 1:28:41SPEAKER_01: Feh.
- 1:28:42SPEAKER_01: Please don't ruin ruin it for us, man.
- 1:28:44SPEAKER_03: I actually won't, but I I think Aiden Hutch, if he's gonna have a big game.
- 1:28:51SPEAKER_03: Alright, okay.
- 1:28:52SPEAKER_03: But Jacoby Brissett cannot move in the pocket like at all.
- 1:28:56SPEAKER_03: He's basically a statue bat there, and like he's gonna just have a rough day batted in the pocket if he can't get the ball out.
- 1:29:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's not a Bryce Young that can create plays in the backfield and get the ball out super quick.
- 1:29:07SPEAKER_01: As long as Calvin Shepard makes adjustments on defense and doesn't give up the quick hitters to the receivers and Trey McBride.
- 1:29:13SPEAKER_01: You can let Hutch get pressure for sure.
- 1:29:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean eventually there's gotta be changes to be made here.
- 1:29:18SPEAKER_03: If you don't make them now, it's gonna be it's literally now or never.
- 1:29:22SPEAKER_03: That's the situation we're at right now.
- 1:29:24SPEAKER_03: And I think it will be now.
- 1:29:25SPEAKER_03: Give me the Lions.
- 1:29:26SPEAKER_01: Alright, Lions sweep across the board.
- 1:29:30SPEAKER_01: This is probably this is one of the two best games of the week for sure.
- 1:29:34SPEAKER_01: The other one's on Monday night, but we got San Francisco and Seattle in an NFC West matchup.
- 1:29:40SPEAKER_01: Seattle is a three-point favorite just because they're the home team.
- 1:29:43SPEAKER_01: That means this game is an absolute coin toss.
- 1:29:45SPEAKER_01: You could go either way with it.
- 1:29:47SPEAKER_01: San Francisco has looked really good.
- 1:29:48SPEAKER_01: They're undefeated so far.
- 1:29:50SPEAKER_01: Seattle does have a shocking loss to Washington, but they're still the reigning Super Bowl champs.
- 1:29:54SPEAKER_01: Great team here.
- 1:29:55SPEAKER_01: I'll go last on this one.
- 1:29:56SPEAKER_01: What do you guys think?
- 1:29:58SPEAKER_04: Sam France played a pretty good schedule and they're still undefeated.
- 1:30:01SPEAKER_04: They um beat the Rams the first week of the season.
- 1:30:04SPEAKER_01: They just beat the Broncos.
- 1:30:05SPEAKER_04: They just beat the Broncos.
- 1:30:09SPEAKER_04: But Seattle needs to win to get back in this division, so I'm taking Seattle.
- 1:30:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you can't lose more than three games in this division.
- 1:30:16SPEAKER_01: Four if you're lucky and expect to win it.
- 1:30:18SPEAKER_01: This is the best division in football by far.
- 1:30:21SPEAKER_06: Yeah, so I have San Francisco here.
- 1:30:23SPEAKER_06: I think they're just gonna continue to stay hot, man.
- 1:30:25SPEAKER_06: We talked about they played the Rams, they played the uh the Broncos, and I just think that it's hard.
- 1:30:36SPEAKER_06: It's hard to pick again.
- 1:30:38SPEAKER_06: It's gonna be a close game.
- 1:30:40SPEAKER_06: I just I just have that feeling with San Francisco right now.
- 1:30:46SPEAKER_01: One Seahawks, one 49ers.
- 1:30:48SPEAKER_03: I mean a divisional matchup that's good every single year.
- 1:30:52SPEAKER_03: It's always tight.
- 1:30:55SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna take the 49ers.
- 1:30:58SPEAKER_03: Staying undefeated?
- 1:30:59SPEAKER_03: I think they'll stand undefeated.
- 1:31:00SPEAKER_03: I think the Seahawks will get their dip back later in the year.
- 1:31:04SPEAKER_03: But I mean, the Niners start out five and all.
- 1:31:06SPEAKER_03: They've looked really good.
- 1:31:08SPEAKER_03: So yeah, do we find it?
- 1:31:10SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with the 49ers as well, just because the Seahawks, they're still banged up, man.
- 1:31:15SPEAKER_01: I mean, Judarian Price, their starting running back, is on the IR, so he's gonna be out for a couple weeks.
- 1:31:20SPEAKER_01: They do still have Jackson Smith and Jigba, so probably one of if not the best receiver in the NFL rank.
- 1:31:26SPEAKER_01: Absolute playmaker, so you gotta take that into account.
- 1:31:29SPEAKER_01: They've got a great defense in Seattle, but I just don't know.
- 1:31:32SPEAKER_01: Not you want to say something.
- 1:31:33SPEAKER_06: Yeah, was this Seattle that was gonna go sign Joe Mixon this week?
- 1:31:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they signed him and then he failed his physical.
- 1:31:38SPEAKER_06: He had his physical.
- 1:31:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so the Seahawks don't really have an RB1 right now.
- 1:31:44SPEAKER_03: So Daniel Wilson is a dog, though.
- 1:31:47SPEAKER_01: But it's not a Jadarian Price.
- 1:31:49SPEAKER_01: Jadarian Price just hasn't gotten going.
- 1:31:51SPEAKER_01: He is a playmaker, he's a rookie, but I think he could be a huge piece of that Seattle offense.
- 1:31:56SPEAKER_01: And with him not being healthy, Seattle doesn't really have a run game, so they gotta rely almost entirely on Jackson Smith and Jigba to get the job done on offense.
- 1:32:04SPEAKER_03: And Sam Darnold.
- 1:32:05SPEAKER_01: And Sam.
- 1:32:06SPEAKER_01: We're not doing that.
- 1:32:06SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 1:32:08SPEAKER_01: And so, I mean, yeah, the 49ers have a great defense.
- 1:32:11SPEAKER_01: They're a very well probably one of the most well-rounded teams in the NFL.
- 1:32:16SPEAKER_01: I d I I don't think Seattle can compete without a fully healthy team.
- 1:32:20SPEAKER_01: So we'll take the Niners here.
- 1:32:22SPEAKER_01: Sunday Night Football.
- 1:32:23SPEAKER_01: Ravens, probably without Lamar Jackson against the Atlanta Falcons, who people were complaining that they had three straight games in primetime.
- 1:32:32SPEAKER_01: Like, why we gotta watch the Falcons in prime time three weeks in a row.
- 1:32:35SPEAKER_01: They haven't disappointed.
- 1:32:36SPEAKER_01: They dominated the Packers, they dominated the Saints, and now they got a home game against a banged up Ravens team, like I said, probably without Lamar Jackson.
- 1:32:44SPEAKER_01: I'll take Atlanta on this one.
- 1:32:45SPEAKER_01: They're gonna go three and oh in their three primetime games early in the season.
- 1:32:48SPEAKER_04: I'm taking Atlanta too.
- 1:32:49SPEAKER_04: This team is not the same team as before Michael Penix, and I think not having Lamar is really gonna cause the Ravens to struggle against the Atlanta defense.
- 1:32:59SPEAKER_06: Yeah, Atlanta stays hot this week for sure.
- 1:33:02SPEAKER_03: Cooper Rush is that one beam that like you see.
- 1:33:05SPEAKER_03: He's like I snuck into an NFL game and play quarterback for one day or something.
- 1:33:11SPEAKER_03: Like you see that it just he was playing so bad, he was holding back the best running back in football in Drake London.
- 1:33:18SPEAKER_03: Man, I love that team.
- 1:33:20SPEAKER_01: Man, I love that team.
- 1:33:21SPEAKER_01: Now they got a quarterback, Michael Penny has to throw the ball.
- 1:33:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they can actually throw the ball over 20 yards accurately.
- 1:33:26SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 1:33:27SPEAKER_03: Look what happens.
- 1:33:28SPEAKER_03: Um, no, yeah, Damien the Falcons here.
- 1:33:30SPEAKER_03: They shouldn't, I mean, take care of this pretty easily.
- 1:33:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, no Lamar.
- 1:33:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and the Ravens already with Lamar don't really have much of a passing game because they don't have any playmakers on the outside.
- 1:33:42SPEAKER_01: So without Lamar Jackson and without that dual threat ability that he brings to the table, good luck for that Ravens offense.
- 1:33:49SPEAKER_01: So yeah, Falcons across the board.
- 1:33:51SPEAKER_01: Last game, no one closes one out, Monday Night Football.
- 1:33:55SPEAKER_01: Huge game.
- 1:33:57SPEAKER_01: Buffalo and the Rams.
- 1:33:59SPEAKER_01: The Bills just came off of a loss.
- 1:34:02SPEAKER_01: Their first loss of the season to the Patriots.
- 1:34:04SPEAKER_01: And the Rams, they gotta get it going, man.
- 1:34:07SPEAKER_01: They've been really inconsistent to the first four games.
- 1:34:09SPEAKER_01: They did have a win last week, but they gotta start putting some good football together if they want a chance at winning that NFC West.
- 1:34:17SPEAKER_01: But then again, it is the Bills and Josh Allen.
- 1:34:20SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna be a really tough game for both teams.
- 1:34:22SPEAKER_01: What are we thinking?
- 1:34:24SPEAKER_04: I'm picking the Rams only because, like I talked about earlier with Seattle, they need a win if they want to get back in this division.
- 1:34:31SPEAKER_04: And Buffalo has looked pretty shaky last two weeks, and I expect Josh Shield to turn the ball over against a good defense.
- 1:34:38SPEAKER_04: And I think the Rams will capitalize.
- 1:34:40SPEAKER_06: How close are we to getting Miles Garrett back?
- 1:34:42SPEAKER_06: Is it a couple more weeks?
- 1:34:43SPEAKER_06: I still think they're a couple weeks out.
- 1:34:45SPEAKER_06: Yeah, um, yeah, I think this is a game the Rams need to win, and then once they get Miles Garrett back, I think they're gonna be the team that we thought they were gonna be preseason.
- 1:34:53SPEAKER_06: But um yeah, I think that the Rams go get it done.
- 1:34:56SPEAKER_06: Um I like that Peya made the point that, you know, Josh Allen does turn the ball over when he's facing a quality defense.
- 1:35:05SPEAKER_06: I do think the Rams still have one of the best defensive units in the NFL, even though at times they've looked shaky.
- 1:35:10SPEAKER_06: And uh, you know, you have Devonta uh Devontae Adams and then you have uh Puka Naku on the outside, and then Kyron Kyron Williams has been looking awesome too.
- 1:35:19SPEAKER_01: Kyron Williams went off last week.
- 1:35:21SPEAKER_06: He had a great game.
- 1:35:22SPEAKER_06: And you know, Stafford, veteran quarterback.
- 1:35:24SPEAKER_06: I mean that Rams team is good.
- 1:35:27SPEAKER_06: Blake Horam.
- 1:35:28SPEAKER_06: Don't forget about don't forget about Blake Corham.
- 1:35:31SPEAKER_01: Alright, we got two Rams picks.
- 1:35:32SPEAKER_03: Fehi, go ahead.
- 1:35:33SPEAKER_03: Puka Nakura is in a tear up bad secondary.
- 1:35:35SPEAKER_03: He's now he's healthy.
- 1:35:37SPEAKER_03: He's actually healthy for once.
- 1:35:39SPEAKER_03: And uh yeah, he's uh he's gonna go for you.
- 1:35:42SPEAKER_03: He's gonna have a pretty good game there.
- 1:35:44SPEAKER_03: I just don't see how that Bill's offense keeps up.
- 1:35:46SPEAKER_03: And Stafford literally cannot have played worse last week.
- 1:35:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he didn't have a good game at all.
- 1:35:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he played off.
- 1:35:51SPEAKER_03: I mean, only way he can go is up, unfortunately, with Stafford there.
- 1:35:55SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna have to take the Rams.
- 1:35:58SPEAKER_01: I like that you brought up the secondary.
- 1:36:00SPEAKER_01: I'm for the Bills.
- 1:36:01SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take the Rams as well.
- 1:36:03SPEAKER_01: So we're gonna go Rams across the board here.
- 1:36:06SPEAKER_01: I just think with the weapons that the Rams have, Puka Nakua and Devontae Adams and how brutal that Bill secondary is, I think the Rams are gonna have a field day through the air against that Bill secondary.
- 1:36:18SPEAKER_01: It's essentially gonna be running a perfection drill in practice against air, I think.
- 1:36:23SPEAKER_01: Against that Bill secondary.
- 1:36:24SPEAKER_01: Puka Nakua, one of the best receivers in the game.
- 1:36:26SPEAKER_01: Devontae Adams as a wide receiver too is criminal, and he's gonna have a great game as well.
- 1:36:31SPEAKER_01: They're just gonna be able to attack every area of that Bill secondary, and they won't have an answer to stop it.
- 1:36:37SPEAKER_01: I think the Rams are gonna absolutely dominate this game on offense.
- 1:36:40SPEAKER_01: And even with how good the Bills offense is as well, with Josh Allen being a former MVP, I just don't think they're gonna do enough to keep up with the Rams offense, and their defense is gonna the Rams' defense is gonna be good enough to contain Josh Allen in that Bill's offense for the Rams, for the Rams offense to just put up numbers and dominate this game.
- 1:37:00SPEAKER_03: Uh question of the day here, I guess to all you guys.
- 1:37:02SPEAKER_03: Do you think CJ Garner Johnson finally shuts up after he gets absolutely smoked by Putin and Jordan to Martha Adams?
- 1:37:08SPEAKER_03: Absolutely not.
- 1:37:09SPEAKER_03: That dude never stops talking.
- 1:37:10SPEAKER_03: Probably not.
- 1:37:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I don't think he will either.
- 1:37:13SPEAKER_03: But I mean, hopefully a wake-up call for that guy.
- 1:37:15SPEAKER_03: He needs a lock in.
- 1:37:16SPEAKER_01: The whole Bill's defense needs to lock in.
- 1:37:18SPEAKER_03: I mean, I don't even know another person on that team other than him, so I'm be honest.
- 1:37:23SPEAKER_03: And Ed Oliver, if he's alive at this point.
- 1:37:26SPEAKER_03: Shout out to that guy.
- 1:37:27SPEAKER_01: Well, secondary is brutal.
- 1:37:29SPEAKER_01: It's like watching the Lions secondary almost.
- 1:37:31SPEAKER_01: But that's it for today's episode.
- 1:37:35SPEAKER_01: A lot of games, a lot of picks.
- 1:37:37SPEAKER_01: Hopefully we do a little bit better than last week.
- 1:37:39SPEAKER_01: Last week was a little shaky on the NFL and college football side of things.
- 1:37:42SPEAKER_01: So hopefully the results go in our favor a little bit more.
- 1:37:45SPEAKER_01: Gentlemen, this is a great crew.
- 1:37:47SPEAKER_01: Again, I appreciate having you all on here.
- 1:37:49SPEAKER_01: Thank you again for joining me.
- 1:37:51SPEAKER_06: Yeah, thanks, Snow, for having us out again.
- 1:37:52SPEAKER_06: Of course.
- 1:37:53SPEAKER_06: It was a blast, man.
- 1:37:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was pretty awesome, man.
- 1:37:56SPEAKER_03: Love debating with you guys.
- 1:37:57SPEAKER_01: It's a great series, man.
- 1:37:59SPEAKER_01: Shaping up to be really fun.
- 1:38:00SPEAKER_01: I hope you listeners also enjoy it as much as we do over here on the mics.
- 1:38:04SPEAKER_01: So tune in again next week.
- 1:38:06SPEAKER_01: It's a weekly segment.
- 1:38:07SPEAKER_01: You already know what we're doing.
- 1:38:08SPEAKER_01: Probably be the same crew.
- 1:38:09SPEAKER_01: More picks, more recaps, all football.
- 1:38:13SPEAKER_01: Thank you again for listening.
- 1:38:14SPEAKER_01: I'm in it no matter what.
