- 1:18Speaker 1: Stay tuned for today's free podcast, Meditative Prayers with Zach Clinton,
- 1:23Speaker 1: where you can draw close to God and find strength
- 1:26Speaker 1: in Him.
- 1:29Speaker 2: My friends, welcome to your meditative prayer on deep forgiveness.
- 1:33Speaker 2: To get the most out of your spiritual journey, use
- 1:35Speaker 2: Pray.com every day and make prayer a priority in your life. Again,
- 1:39Speaker 2: our goal for today's meditative prayer is all about deep forgiveness.
- 1:44Speaker 2: So right now, just take a second to simply relax.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Maybe head to a quiet and welcoming place, a place
- 1:53Speaker 2: where you can examine your heart. Close your eyes and
- 1:59Speaker 2: take a couple of deep breaths. And as you gain
- 2:03Speaker 2: control of your thoughts, shift your focus onto Christ and
- 2:08Speaker 2: open yourself up to the Holy Spirit, inviting Him to
- 2:12Speaker 2: sit with you. Again today we'll be meditating on Luke
- 2:16Speaker 2: chapter 6 verses 36 to 37 from the King James Version.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Be ye therefore merciful as your father also is merciful.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Judge not and ye shall not be judged. Condemn not
- 2:31Speaker 2: and ye shall not be condemned. Forgive and ye shall
- 2:35Speaker 2: be forgiven. Now my friends take a moment just to
- 2:40Speaker 2: pour out your adoration to God. God I praise you
- 2:45Speaker 2: For your mercies are unending. They renew every morning. I
- 2:50Speaker 2: give you all honor and glory, for there is none
- 2:53Speaker 2: like you. You forgive my sins, and you restore my soul.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I worship you, for there is none gracious like you.
- 3:03Speaker 2: And I praise you, for your faithfulness knows no end.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Forgiveness is a commandment, not a recommendation. This can be
- 3:13Speaker 2: a really hard truth to process and to accept, but
- 3:16Speaker 2: it is true nonetheless. God commands us to forgive one another,
- 3:21Speaker 2: to show mercy, and to not pass sentence. You are
- 3:25Speaker 2: to be merciful and to forgive as God does without
- 3:28Speaker 2: restrictions or requirements, demanding no restitution and apportioning no shame.
- 3:35Speaker 2: It is no coincidence that God ties forgiveness to mercy
- 3:38Speaker 2: in the Bible. Forgiveness to God is not about merit.
- 3:42Speaker 2: but rather it stands on grace. You do not deserve
- 3:46Speaker 2: to be forgiven for your sins, yet God forgives you
- 3:50Speaker 2: out of his compassion and his love. God does not
- 3:54Speaker 2: throw his grace in your face. He doesn't hold his
- 3:57Speaker 2: goodness against you. God forgave you so you could in turn,
- 4:02Speaker 2: like him, forgive those who do not deserve it. God
- 4:06Speaker 2: is not asking something of you that he hasn't already done.
- 4:10Speaker 2: That is not to say forgiving others comes easy, Forgiving
- 4:13Speaker 2: those who harm you can feel utterly impossible and irrational.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yet you must remember if you wish to receive, you
- 4:22Speaker 2: must first give. If you want to be forgiven, you
- 4:25Speaker 2: must forgive. Reflect for a moment now on the times
- 4:30Speaker 2: maybe you withheld forgiveness. Times where hate and hurt got
- 4:34Speaker 2: the best of you. Gather all your loveless thoughts, actions,
- 4:39Speaker 2: and emotions and right now place them in the hands
- 4:44Speaker 2: of Jesus. Let the Holy Spirit minister to the areas
- 4:49Speaker 2: of your heart where mercy does not yet reign. And
- 4:55Speaker 2: right now, my friends, let's just transition by taking a
- 4:58Speaker 2: moment to dwell on God's mercy. Remember how it felt
- 5:03Speaker 2: to experience God's compassion in your life. How wonderful it
- 5:08Speaker 2: was to know you were forgiven and that your sins
- 5:11Speaker 2: were no longer held against you. Think how powerful grace
- 5:15Speaker 2: can be. Now, thank God for pouring His forgiveness upon
- 5:20Speaker 2: your life. Give thanks for the moments where His righteousness
- 5:24Speaker 2: paid for your transgressions. Thank God for His unfailing love
- 5:29Speaker 2: and His gentle kindness over you, for always showing you
- 5:33Speaker 2: clemency even though you don't deserve it. Do not forget,
- 5:40Speaker 2: God is present and He is listening to you. Right now,
- 5:44Speaker 2: this is your opportunity to come before Him and ask
- 5:47Speaker 2: for His grace. To ask the Holy Spirit to exchange
- 5:50Speaker 2: your heart of stone for one of flesh. To ask
- 5:54Speaker 2: Him to enable you to love as your Heavenly Father loves.
- 5:58Speaker 2: So ask the Holy Spirit to set you free from
- 6:00Speaker 2: the bondage of unforgiveness. Ask Him to turn your mercilessness
- 6:05Speaker 2: into compassion. Ask the Holy Spirit to enable you to
- 6:10Speaker 2: let go of all the hurt and the pain. and
- 6:13Speaker 2: to empower you to forgive as you are forgiven completely
- 6:17Speaker 2: and unconditionally. Remember, God expects you to give mercy as
- 6:24Speaker 2: He gives mercy. Don't judge other people and you will
- 6:28Speaker 2: not be judged. Don't accuse others of being guilty and
- 6:32Speaker 2: you will not be accused of being guilty. Forgive other
- 6:36Speaker 2: people and you will be forgiven. You must remember there
- 6:40Speaker 2: is always a choice. And there is power in choosing.
- 6:45Speaker 2: So choose to show mercy, grace, and love unto others.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Let go of hatred and forgive. Give what you wish
- 6:53Speaker 2: to receive. Pour out goodness and grace unto others. So
- 6:58Speaker 2: your Heavenly Father may do the same for you. And
- 7:02Speaker 2: be filled with the love of Christ. And my friends,
- 7:05Speaker 2: watch as that love transforms your life. As always, my friends,
- 7:11Speaker 2: thank you for completing today's meditative prayer on Pray.com. By
