- 0:04The Mets are in a bad spot right now.
- 0:11I've never seen a Ranger team quit before the Olympics.
- 0:14We're going to be looking at Aaron Judge and saying that he
- 0:17can't win the big game, Michael Jordan said.
- 0:19I played 82 games. You don't see LeBron doing that,
- 0:23but Jack Hughes did after getting his teeth knocked out
- 0:25and played every single shift he got back in the game.

- 2:33I've been all over the world as a DJ or even as a broadcaster.
- 2:37I've I've traveled so many places, even in different
- 2:40countries. I just like the food here more.
- 2:43And and even even though the after parties and the parties
- 2:46aren't the same, the club life isn't the same anymore.
- 2:49That get used to be because more richer people live down here now
- 2:54and they enjoy the fact that it's quiet, that everything gets
- 2:58shut down by two O clock, 3 O clock.
- 3:00They don't want it to go 5 or 6 in the morning like it is in the
- 3:03city. And even the city life here in
- 3:04New York isn't the same. You go out to the city.
- 3:08I mean, they do have rooftop parties and and they're somewhat
- 3:12fun. But even the underground places
- 3:14that used to stay open like Sound Factory or Pasha, they
- 3:18don't stay out. Those places used to stay open
- 3:20overnight. They would be open for 24 hours.
- 3:22They'd have unbelievable parties, rave parties.
- 3:26It's not like that anymore here in New York.
- 3:28And I think it has a lot to do with the way of living and, and
- 3:32the way people want to live their lives now.
- 3:33And, and these kids, they don't know what it's like to party and
- 3:37go to the clubs. They think a lounge or a bar is
- 3:40a club and they, they have no idea when you go out to, I don't
- 3:45know, London, Germany, New Zealand, the club life there.
- 3:49They have these big, it used to be like here in New York, in the
- 3:52Hamptons, where they have these big huge warehouses and you'd
- 3:56party all night long. It's not like that anymore.
- 3:58So that's the only thing I hate about New York is the party
- 4:02life. If you're a young kid, you don't
- 4:04actually enjoy what New York has to give an offer anymore.
- 4:10People don't understand what New York was 20 years ago, 25 years
- 4:14ago. Even in the 70's, the disco
- 4:17life, you know, Studio 54, it's not like that.
- 4:20And if you go to Vegas, even Vegas, when you go to Vegas and
- 4:23you check out the club life, it's better than it is here, but
- 4:27it's not the same. And these young kids?
- 4:30That's because y'all a lot of natives done moved out, but
- 4:33we're we're seeing a high influx of New Yorkers down here in this
- 4:36house. What's really going on?
- 4:38I know the cost of living is up up there and all that, but you
- 4:41can't have an identity if nobody's you know, that's born
- 4:44there is around. So that's half of the reason
- 4:47cost of living is another. You ain't got time to party no
- 4:50more trying to pay bills and keep the lights.
- 4:53On oh, stop, they, they try to pay bills and pop babies.
- 4:56That's what they want to do. Baby one, baby two, baby three,
- 4:59they pop out like hot cakes. You get triplets, twins.
- 5:03I mean, now you have all these different things that you can do
- 5:05where you can get twins. It's crazy.
- 5:08It's crazy because I don't know if anybody knows the story about
- 5:11Carlos Boozer. Now Carlos Boozers first born
- 5:15had leukemia and they didn't have blood to save his life.
- 5:20So what they did, him and his wife did, it was pretty simple.
- 5:23They they had this procedure done where they were trying to
- 5:27have another baby. So they used, I forget what it
- 5:30was, but they transferred his semen into her and into an egg,
- 5:34which eventually gave them a son, which eventually gave them
- 5:37two sons, which was Kaden and Cam.
- 5:40And we all know what happened with them.
- 5:42And they had double of the blood that saved their older brother
- 5:45who's playing college baseball right now.
- 5:48So it's crazy the way you can do things now.
- 5:51If you have money, you have to have money to do something like
- 5:54that. You you can't go in and talk to
- 5:57a doctor and say, hey, I'm broke.
- 5:59I I want to, I want to get twins.
- 6:01I want to get. Trips you need to tell me
- 6:03insurance want to take care of? No, they said, Medicaid won't
- 6:05take care. Of no, not here, not here,
- 6:08Definitely not I mean you want Sir, I I need triplets.
- 6:12I need you can't afford your own self.
- 6:15How the hell are you going to afford twins are a triplet, you
- 6:18know, so it's pretty crazy. Carlos Boozer, on the other
- 6:22hand, he's made millions and millions of dollars so he's not
- 6:24going to complain. But it's a crazy story.
- 6:26If you check 30 for 30 or E60. I think it was E 60.
- 6:31They did a 60 minute story about the the brothers and and what
- 6:36they grew up to and and their younger, their older brother
- 6:39who's now living and he's leukemia free and he's doing
- 6:42very, very well for himself. And that stands for what Carlos
- 6:46Boozer and his beautiful ex-wife was doing to try to save their
- 6:50son. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 6:51we call this the concrete jungle carousel.
- 6:55Welcome to the jungle. We got fun and games.
- 6:59You know where you are in the jungle, baby.
- 7:02Welcome. I'm trying to put Tiger Bomb on
- 7:05this jungle's nuts to the concrete jungle carousel.
- 7:08You gotta die. Welcome back everyone to the
- 7:17Concrete Jungle carousel. Errol.
- 7:19Let's just stay with the Big East boots that you were just
- 7:23talking about with Yukon and go to Saint St.
- 7:27John's. They haven't really done a
- 7:29postmortem on their season. They lost in the 15 to Duke.
- 7:34It was a close game. They were up most of the game,
- 7:38lost in the second-half. Really kind of an impressive run
- 7:42from Pitino. I thought they were going to win
- 7:44that game. Before the game started, they
- 7:47kind of blew it. They didn't have the same roster
- 7:50as Duke, obviously, but the coaching may have been better.
- 7:55First of all, Rick Pitino, after getting eliminated out of the
- 8:00tournament, just got an extension.
- 8:02So we understand what Rick Pitino stands for when it comes
- 8:05to Saint John's baseball, basketball.
- 8:06We haven't seen a Saint John's team go to Sweet 16 in a very,
- 8:10very long time. So we understand that.
- 8:13We understand that. But when you look at Pitino's
- 8:16credited and the way he built this team, he made some
- 8:19mistakes, especially in the second-half.
- 8:21I thought that Pitino should have with the success that they
- 8:25were having in the first half. They were up by Duke.
- 8:28They were beating Duke by 1. Going to the second-half, there
- 8:30were a lot of questions on how he was going to rotate his his
- 8:33players, his big man who was just shooting at will, hitting
- 8:37every shot, playing defense, rebounding, blocking shots.
- 8:41Why? Why did he only own play?
- 8:42I think he only played 3 minutes in the second-half of the game.
- 8:45There was a lot of questions on why Pitino was doing that and
- 8:49Shia. I don't.
- 8:49I'll say the coach Shire didn't out coach Pitino.
- 8:54I think Pitino out coached himself in that game.
- 8:57So I, I mean, you can argue that Pitino was the reason why they
- 9:01lost that game against you, because I, I thought that they
- 9:05had the edge going into the second-half.
- 9:07I thought they were playing such good team defense and they were
- 9:10rebounding the ball so very well.
- 9:12And in the second-half, they gave Kampuzer a little bit more
- 9:15chances at the free throw line. They just made so many mistakes
- 9:19at the tail end of the game. And, and and that's why Duke, by
- 9:22the skin of their teeth, beat St.
- 9:24John's. Yeah, they also got outmatched
- 9:26in the paint a lot, which I which knew it was a match of
- 9:29advantage coming into the game for Duke, especially getting
- 9:30John but back. He was able to get a lot of
- 9:32those offensive rebounds. But yeah, you're right, taking
- 9:34Prey out of the game when he had.
- 9:35That that's what I was. Talking about when he had that
- 9:37hot first half at 12 points, 4 for four shooting.
- 9:39Hitting three pointers. Yeah, and then you're right.
- 9:42He only played him 4 minutes after that.
- 9:43It was definitely puzzling when you had a St.
- 9:46John's team that was shooting over 50% from three for most of
- 9:49the game. They finished at 40, but this
- 9:51was a team that is not known for that type of game and they were
- 9:54hitting in an end. Like why wouldn't you keep that
- 9:56player in the game more than 4 minutes?
- 9:57I'm not saying don't ever like, I'm not saying you like leave
- 9:59him out if he goes cold, but still, he wasn't going cold at
- 10:02any point. He out coached himself.
- 10:04That's pretty much what happened in the game.
- 10:06Yeah, he over thought himself, man, I thought, I think the guys
- 10:09were all over the place. It seems like they kind of once
- 10:13dude went up, they kind of lost their head a little bit and they
- 10:15was just flying around, not necessarily making the right
- 10:18plays. And so I think it's it was they
- 10:21all kind of fairly young, right? So I would say like, you know,
- 10:23he got a he got a good group and I think that they'll be back and
- 10:27make some noise next this year. But yeah, I think it was just
- 10:30match in regards to talent and Duke been there before.
- 10:33So it was a little easier for them to maintain and keep
- 10:35control throughout the throughout the game.
- 10:37They actually believe it because Pitino just got a nice big
- 10:39contract. He's one of the highest paid
- 10:41coaches in in the NCAA and he's going to have even more NIL
- 10:45money because he has a billionaire making sure that he
- 10:48has all the money in the world to bring players from the
- 10:50portal. And you know what he likes to
- 10:51do? He likes to bring the older
- 10:53players to his team because they're easier to coach the
- 10:56younger players. He doesn't want those running
- 10:58done. One and done Guys like Calipari
- 11:00is done over the years and some of the other teams, so it's
- 11:03national championship teams. He'd rather keep these players
- 11:05for a significant amount of time so they can grow with him.
- 11:09Yeah, he gonna do some character for sure.
- 11:11Well, one guy he's going to lose is Zubi AGO for he's he's going
- 11:17to be a late first round to early second round pick.
- 11:20They're saying projected 21 years old, 69, you know,
- 11:25undersized for a center, but profiles he could play a little
- 11:28bit on the perimeter as we saw. He's going to be one of those
- 11:32tweeners heading into the draft. I think A-Team like the Knicks
- 11:37with a late first round pick. It makes a lot of sense to look
- 11:40at a guy like him for some depth.
- 11:42I stay away from, and I'll say this again, I stay away from
- 11:45anybody from Saint John's because every time the New York
- 11:48Knicks drafted Saint John's guys, Wallace, John Wallace,
- 11:51remember him, they don't pan out.
- 11:54They don't pan out. I know Rick Pitino, Rick Pitino
- 11:58reached out to the Knicks when they he when he was coaching
- 12:00Louisville and he said draft the Spider, draft this kid.
- 12:03Donovan Mitchell's going to be a star.
- 12:05He told Phil Jackson, he told the the organization he was very
- 12:08close with James Dolan. Draft this guy.
- 12:10Draft this guy. The Knicks decided to draft a
- 12:12kid from France. OK, and how did that work out?
- 12:16Neil Akina? It didn't work out very well.
- 12:18Donovan Mitchell became a star in the NBA.
- 12:21He became A2 dimensional player, one of the better shooters in
- 12:23one of the better offensive options from Utah, and then
- 12:26eventually went to Cleveland. And Nikhil Nila Keen is not even
- 12:30in the NBA anymore. So we all know what happens
- 12:33then. Yankees.
- 12:34Oh my goodness. So they're off tonight, but the
- 12:37Yankees have been off to a historic start .53 ERA in their
- 12:43first six games, best in a six game span in baseball history. 6
- 12:48total runs given up. Next best in baseball currently
- 12:51are the Dodgers and Brewers, tied with 17 going into today.
- 12:56So 6th is 1st. 6 total runs versus 17 in second place.
- 13:01Schlittler has a .26 walks and hits per inning, pitch or WHIP
- 13:06and 15 strikeouts. Freed has a .53 and 10
- 13:10strikeouts. Neither one is allowed to run
- 13:13this year. Pretty good.
- 13:15There there's a lot of historic things that the Yankees are
- 13:18doing right now. Think about this.
- 13:20The Yankees allowed only six runs in six games, third fewest
- 13:24in Major League Baseball history, and a start of a
- 13:27season. This is not even over.
- 13:29Starting pitching gave up only two runs in 33 1/2 innings, the
- 13:35fewest since 1900. The team The team has outscored
- 13:39opponents 24 to 6 during this stretch.
- 13:43They also opened the season with 20 straight scoreless innings, a
- 13:48franchise record. Not over yet, guys late.
- 13:50There's so many numbers that you guys have to understand what the
- 13:53Yankees are doing right now is historic.
- 13:56Think about this. The Yankees not only are doing
- 14:00something unique, it hasn't been done since 1943.
- 14:03The Yankees allowed only three runs in their first five games,
- 14:08tying the 1943 Saint Louis Cardinals for the fewest in a
- 14:13span since 1900. Historically stingy pitching By
- 14:18allowing only six runs over I'm sorry over the first six games,
- 14:24the staff ranks behind only the 2002 Giants and the 1915
- 14:30Phillies for best pitching start in Major League Baseball
- 14:34history. Fastest Start The team has
- 14:37secured a serious sweep against the Giants in their first
- 14:40leading in in technology. I'm sorry, in technology.
- 14:45The team has all been aggressive with the automatic balls and
- 14:50strikes. ABS Challenge System leading the
- 14:52league in successful challenges early this season and, and and
- 14:57it goes on and on. What the Yankees are doing right
- 14:58now. Statistically, Max Freed has
- 15:00dominated. 13.1 score is scoreless innings across the
- 15:04first two starts. Schlittler is open with 11.2
- 15:08scoreless innings back-to-back starts at at the last at least 5
- 15:13frames of and seven strikeouts. Here's another thing going into
- 15:17the season, baseball tonight took shots at the Yankees.
- 15:19Can this pitching staff last before Rodon comes back with his
- 15:23hamstring problem? Or Cole coming back something
- 15:26time at the end of June or mid June?
- 15:28Or Schmidt who can't stay healthy?
- 15:31Another guy that we don't know when he's going to come back.
- 15:33Heel was sent down and the Yankees were going to only have
- 15:36played four starters, 4 starters in this rotation early in the
- 15:41season. How many teams do that?
- 15:43And what are the Yankees doing right now?
- 15:45They're breaking records. They're doing things that we
- 15:47haven't seen Yankee teams do and they're doing without two of
- 15:50their best pitchers. Slidler is showing you that he
- 15:54could be a number one on a roster.
- 15:56The Yankees have Coal and Freed, and by the way, Max Freed has
- 15:59been one of the more dominant pitches the Yankees have brought
- 16:02in to this organization and free agency in history.
- 16:05Think about it, when you look at the past team, guys like Roger
- 16:09Clemens, David Wells, David Cohen, all these guys that
- 16:13they've brought over the years, guys that helped them win
- 16:16championships. Max Freed, even though he hasn't
- 16:19won a championship yet with the Yankees, what he is doing right
- 16:21now is incredible. He was up for a Cy Young last
- 16:24year. He had blitzed a problem.
- 16:26If Max Fried stays healthy this year with this rotation, he's
- 16:30going to win 2223 games. He's going to.
- 16:32He's probably going to start 3435 games.
- 16:35This guy is on that trajectory of left-handed pitchers that we
- 16:39can compare our all time pitchers, not only for the
- 16:42Yankees in baseball history. He's at that trajectory.
- 16:45The way he's pitching to possibly be a Hall of Famer in
- 16:48the future. It is amazing story and the
- 16:50Yankees are not scoring a lot of runs by the clip.
- 16:53Think about this. Look at the scores.
- 16:56They beat the Giants 7 nothing. Then they they won 3 nothing 31.
- 16:59They lost 1215 nothing 53 then. It's not like they're out
- 17:05scoring and out powering these teams.
- 17:07This is something that the Yankees have done year in and
- 17:09year out. They were all without scoring
- 17:12and scoring runs, more home runs.
- 17:13It's not like that this year. If the Yankees could play at
- 17:16this level and play Little League baseball, I mean bunting
- 17:20and running and doing the things right on the bases, why couldn't
- 17:24the Yankees win 95 to 100 games this year?
- 17:26Why couldn't the Yankees be in an elite team and be considered
- 17:29the team to knock off the Dodgers this year?
- 17:32They are by far this pitching staff right now.
- 17:34The way they're playing when they get rode on and Cole back
- 17:38and Schmidt, you're, you can argue this is the best pitching
- 17:41staff the Yankees have ever had and the best pitching staff in
- 17:44all the baseball. Yeah, Schlittler is doing things
- 17:47with the pressure on him, the burden on him that I don't think
- 17:50you've seen many young, young pitchers do at that level,
- 17:52especially in New York, which is very hard to do this year.
- 17:54Three guys that you said, Schmidt, Rodon and Cole that are
- 17:57all hurt, and now he's taking on more innings, more pitches that
- 18:00he's learning to develop into his arsenal.
- 18:03It's a really impressive accomplishment.
- 18:04And now once the Yankees get those guys back, you could see a
- 18:07lot of what the Brewers did last year where they were able to to
- 18:10limit guys with innings and send guys down if needed to with
- 18:13their younger guys because they have so much depth right now.
- 18:15You got Will Warren, you got Ryan Weathers, you got all these
- 18:17versatile options that they can just move through once they're
- 18:20healthy, heal when he gets called up again because I think
- 18:23they're putting him down because of innings limits to the
- 18:24beginning of the season. So they have so much room they
- 18:27can go to. And like you said, Max Freid is
- 18:28turning into a great trajectory. Last really good five year peak
- 18:32that he had. He just couldn't stay healthy
- 18:34with the Yankees last year, couldn't tell the Braves towards
- 18:36the end of his career. He's on his way.
- 18:37To I will worry now, the only thing I worry about the Yankees
- 18:40is their bullpen. They always have a very good
- 18:43bullpen. One of the best bullpens, top
- 18:44five bullpens in the first half and then they're tired in the
- 18:48second-half. If these pitchers now you need
- 18:50Schmidt back, you need these guys to pitch the innings.
- 18:53If they get these guys back in it, you're going to see he'll
- 18:55come up at one point this year with an injury when somebody
- 18:59goes down and that's why they send he'll down so they can give
- 19:01him his reps and he'll be ready to be called up this year.
- 19:04This guy was a rookie of the year.
- 19:05So I'm I'm, I don't believe he will sit in the minor leagues
- 19:08that long, but with this rotation, if they can get
- 19:11innings out of these pitchers, they're not going to work out
- 19:14there. They're not going to work into
- 19:15their bullpen like they've done year in and year out.
- 19:17And they're going to be ready for the playoffs, which they've
- 19:19had problems in the playoffs staying healthy and keeping this
- 19:22bullpen fresh. I think this team could
- 19:25absolutely win 100 games the way they're pitching right now.
- 19:28Now it's still early and everybody says it's early.
- 19:30Calm down, cool down. I don't know if I can calm down
- 19:33and cool down about this team. They're doing things that Yankee
- 19:36rosters and Yankee rotations have never done.
- 19:39I'm talking about some great rotations in the past that the
- 19:42Yankees have. Remember the 98 rotation the
- 19:44Yankees had? Ridiculous, ridiculous.
- 19:47And that was the best Yankee team some people argue ever.
- 19:51This rotation right now is doing things that rotation hasn't
- 19:54done. I know it's only six games.
- 19:56It's incredible what they're doing right now, only pitching.
- 20:00They only have 4 starters right now going into Easter.
- 20:04It's crazy. Yeah.
- 20:05And it's it's. Listen, I'm on the same page
- 20:08with you. I'm thinking the same thing.
- 20:09I watched a little of that Mariners game and like you said,
- 20:12Schindler was playing out of his mind and I think he did so good
- 20:15that he made Kirby step up his game.
- 20:17If you go back and watch the game, it looks like Kirby came
- 20:20from over there and he said I need to pitch better.
- 20:22But then with a Ghostman, he had a three run Homer and sealed it
- 20:26up versus the Mariners. I thought that was great, but
- 20:28I'm with you on it. I think the Yankees are the
- 20:30favorite to come out of the East, and I think, you know,
- 20:32this might be the time. I know we've had some meltdowns
- 20:34in the postseason, but I think it's time that we bring it back.
- 20:37How? About Rice too, I mean, Rice has
- 20:39been unbelievable for the Yankees.
- 20:40He's been the best hitter for the Yankees and he did this last
- 20:43year and then he kind of died down in the second-half.
- 20:45I think he's going to be better this year.
- 20:47I predict the way Rice is playing right now, as long as he
- 20:50can be half decent as a defensive player, he might start
- 20:54for the All Star team at first base.
- 20:56He he very much could be the best first baseman here in the
- 21:00American League. Now what he's doing right now.
- 21:03This guy's on base percentages been as good as as a young
- 21:08player the Yankees have brought up in years.
- 21:10Could you remember the last time it was Aaron Judge?
- 21:13Aaron Judge is the last that the only player that I can remember
- 21:17that has an on base percentage like Rice has right now.
- 21:20And it's incredible what he is doing right now.
- 21:22You got to give him a lot of credit and and he has a good
- 21:25teacher and Goldschmid who's one of the one of the great first
- 21:27baseman's of this time. So I think this is a great story
- 21:31for the Yankees. Schlittler Rice, their
- 21:33youngsters are going and doing very well and hopefully we'll
- 21:36see little Spencer Jones come up soon.
- 21:38Not little big Spencer Jones come up soon with that bat in
- 21:42that lineup. That's all I wish.
- 21:44I want to see that kid in the lineup.
- 21:46There's a lot to be happy about with the New York Yankees.
- 21:48Don't go out, don't trade away prospects.
- 21:51Let's ride or die with these young guys and see what they
- 21:53have. Yeah, Rice is interesting.
- 21:55He has a lot of advanced metrics.
- 21:58People behind him last year they said he was the most unlucky
- 22:02player in all of Major League Baseball with his stats.
- 22:05Using all those things, you can talk about each one by itself,
- 22:08but if you combine them all, he got screwed the most by bad
- 22:11luck, they said in the entire league.
- 22:13So seeing him come out like this, he's kind of due for some
- 22:16good luck. He's crushing it right now.
- 22:17The Yankees absolutely needed that cue.
- 22:19I was just going to throw it to you a little earlier about, you
- 22:22know, fast starts and how important those are.
- 22:26Or are they kind of like overrated because like I always
- 22:28said, it's more how you finished and how you start.
- 22:31But like, obviously it starts important to know.
- 22:33Yeah, I think, well, when you're young, a fast start can give you
- 22:37all the momentum that you need. So I think that especially when
- 22:40you come into, you talk about opening, opening day and new
- 22:42season and getting out there, getting those wins early helps
- 22:47you on the backside. So, you know, everybody goes
- 22:49through a little slump during the middle of the season, but
- 22:51what not, but be able to have those wins stack up on the top
- 22:54of what you're doing on the back end of the season, it's
- 22:56tremendous. So.
- 22:58So now how do we explain Francisco Lindor?
- 23:02Speedy Francisco Lindor of the Mets multiple mental mistakes in
- 23:08yesterday's loss versus the Cardinals.
- 23:10Forgot how many outs there were in the first inning and he had
- 23:14the ball, stepped on the base and didn't turn the double play.
- 23:17He gets picked off in the 6th inning when Soto's at the plate
- 23:21and then Soto hits a home run. They end up losing.
- 23:24This would have put them over the top to win.
- 23:27I mean, pretty terrible job by Lindor, who's supposed to be the
- 23:31leader of the team. He got killed by everybody in
- 23:34the media today especially. Yeah, it's definitely not
- 23:37something you see that's unlike him.
- 23:38You've seen this with other Mets players that have come up.
- 23:41We saw that with Ahmed Rosario. We saw that with even Pete
- 23:44Alonso at the beginning of his career had a lot of defensive
- 23:46random blunders. Lindor was never that type of
- 23:48player. So it's definitely surprising to
- 23:50see that kind of thing, but did not learn from it in the first
- 23:53inning to the 6th inning and just try to, I guess, be
- 23:55unaware. It's definitely not a good ideal
- 23:57thing when you have other guys in the lineup, especially the
- 23:59new addition, struggling. But that's struggling.
- 24:01We talked about Simeon struggling right now at the
- 24:02plate. You can't have those kinds of
- 24:04things that have the Mets lineup be top having.
- 24:06Media's got to stop. This team is still playing 500
- 24:09baseball. It's still early in the season.
- 24:12I'm not going to worry about the Mets.
- 24:13This team's going to win 1413 games in a row and they're going
- 24:17to get really, really hot because this lineup is really,
- 24:19really good. Bob Bouschette is not going to
- 24:21be hitting and striking out like he is doing right now.
- 24:25I mean, he's moving to a position he's uncomfortable
- 24:27doing. And this guy is an all world
- 24:29hitter. This guy's won a batting
- 24:31championship, a batting, you know, a title.
- 24:33I'm not going to sit here and say Bob Bouschette is going to
- 24:35hit one and 70 this year. This guy knows how to hit.
- 24:38His father's one of the great hitters, a Hall of Famer.
- 24:41I'm not going to attack Beau Bichette because he hasn't
- 24:44figured it out yet. It's also New York.
- 24:45There's a lot of pressure on you.
- 24:47There's more pressure being put on him.
- 24:48He's made what, the fifth highest paid player in baseball
- 24:51right now? He's making more than Aaron
- 24:53Judge. He is beside the Mets have the
- 24:55two highest paid players in New York right now in baseball.
- 24:59Think about that and they're on the same team and not the two
- 25:02best players in the league because the Yankees have the
- 25:04best player in the league and he's making less so.
- 25:07And that's not even a top ten player in the league, and he's
- 25:09making top five money. Well, you have to buy into that
- 25:12if you want a superstar player to come to you, because the Mets
- 25:15are not what you call pinstripes of a place to go to.
- 25:19No, and they're not even as a wet oil machine as you've seen
- 25:21some of these did. You say wet or oil machine well
- 25:24oil. I'm just saying I'm just hear
- 25:25what you want to hear. But I just as I thought you
- 25:27said, wet. Yeah, yeah.
- 25:28I'm just. I'm just.
- 25:29Now I'm going to turn you into the king of wishful hearing now.
- 25:32Well, there is something about that, I do believe.
- 25:35Do you bend the meat? I do bend the meat right Speedy.
- 25:37Maybe you should. Thank you.
- 25:38Maybe. Maybe I'll use your logic.
- 25:40Maybe you should send the meat. I'm proud of you, Earl.
- 25:43I thought she was going to lighten door up today, so I'm
- 25:46actually I was. I thought we was gonna have to
- 25:49take you back a little. Bit no, I listen.
- 25:51I don't take shots at the Mets and I, I think that the Mets are
- 25:54still a good team. They should make the playoffs.
- 25:57We've seen the Mets completely fall apart in the second-half of
- 25:59the season. I don't think that's going to
- 26:01happen this year. They're going to figure it out.
- 26:03They're going to get the legs under them.
- 26:05They're too good of a lineup. And I still think this rotation
- 26:08is, I mean, Peralta's good, Mcclain's good.
- 26:12You have two dominant pitchers at the top of your pitching
- 26:14staff. Why couldn't you find a way to
- 26:16win games? And they got still Tong tong's
- 26:18not even up yet. So I, I think there's their
- 26:21rotation's still good enough to find ways to win.
- 26:23The Mets are going to be fine. Yeah, I think they they play
- 26:26well. I mean, I think they made a lot
- 26:27of contact with the ball yesterday.
- 26:28They just couldn't get on base. And I think they just like the
- 26:31Knicks. They got identity crisis and I
- 26:32know we're getting to them a little later.
- 26:36Well, let's, let's do that right now.
- 26:38Let's talk about those Knicks in this identity crisis.
- 26:42So the Knicks did just beat Memphis Grizzlies.
- 26:45No Jalen Brunson in that game. Didn't matter.
- 26:47Memphis Grizzlies. Very bad.
- 26:51I I looked at the roster of the Memphis Grizzlies.
- 26:54Errol, I will give you $100 right now, if you could name you
- 26:57guys on that team. I'm tired.
- 27:00You really want me to pull something out of Miami?
- 27:02Honestly, I knew 1 and I have never heard of dozen of the
- 27:06players on that roster. It is an absolute joke of a team
- 27:11said you're coaching. The team right?
- 27:12Most. Available name on their team.
- 27:15I'm telling that's the most. That's the name I recognize the
- 27:17most and only because I remember him from the draft a few years
- 27:20ago, not because he's good in the league or anything like
- 27:22that. The Knicks beat that team, but
- 27:24before that, they lost three straight games.
- 27:26They've lost four straight games against teams with winning
- 27:28records. They got blown out by the
- 27:29Rockets. On Tuesday, Josh Hart said that
- 27:32the Knicks are not going in the right direction.
- 27:36Not a great way to go with only a handful of games left in the
- 27:39season. It's a regular season.
- 27:41I, I, we have to see what this team's going to do at the tail
- 27:44end, like 4 games left, three games left.
- 27:46We'll see how they they react to it.
- 27:48I'm worried about Mike Brown getting Karl Anthony Towns
- 27:51involved in the game. That's been the big problem for
- 27:52the Knicks. You have two guys you're 2
- 27:55leading scorers in Jalen Bronson and Karl Anthony Towns.
- 27:58Both don't play defense. That's going to be a problem in
- 28:00the playoffs. That is going to be a big
- 28:02problem if these guys are not consistent as far as defending
- 28:06their position or even helping out on the glass.
- 28:09And Karl Anthony Towns, he disappears in games.
- 28:11That has something to do with coaching.
- 28:13If he's not getting the ball, the only person that is handing
- 28:15on the ball, giving the ball is Jose Alvarado.
- 28:18That's a problem when Jaylen Bronson is not feeding the ball.
- 28:21Josh Hart's not feeding the ball.
- 28:22Oh, Jana, Nope, he's not feeling feeding the ball.
- 28:24Mikhail Bridges isn't feeding the ball.
- 28:26If there he's not getting fed the ball.
- 28:28They're not winning games. They're not winning champion A
- 28:30championship. That's the big problem right
- 28:32now. It's all about Karl Anthony
- 28:34Towns. If he's not involved in a game,
- 28:36he's not giving you 25 and 12 in a game.
- 28:38Good luck, Knicks. You'll probably lose in the
- 28:40first round. It it's so very important.
- 28:42He is so important to this team. I would say he's more important
- 28:47than Jaylen Bronson is as far as what we need the Knicks to do
- 28:50and how they're going to run their offense.
- 28:51They need to run their offense just as much through him as they
- 28:54do to Jaylen Bronson. Yeah, you mentioned last week we
- 28:57were having the size debate of like Carl Anthony Towns doing,
- 29:00you know, do show his skill set is like this great shooting big
- 29:02man against teams that have size too.
- 29:04And Houston is definitely one of those teams and did not showcase
- 29:06it in this game. Knicks vows back against the
- 29:08Grizzlies team. But how much does that really
- 29:10matter, Fish? Like you're saying they have
- 29:11like their entire roster injured?
- 29:12And that's also a big problem for the New York Knicks.
- 29:14They have problems beating good teams.
- 29:16They did it last year and they're doing it this year.
- 29:19They don't when the games are close or they're coming down to
- 29:22the nitty and the gritty. We saw what happened against
- 29:24Indiana. We saw what happened at some
- 29:27points against Detroit. They got lucky against Detroit
- 29:29and a lot of the games they blew out the Boston Celtics.
- 29:32I'm not taking shots at you quitting, but they blew out.
- 29:35They they completely destroyed the Celtics.
- 29:37And maybe it was the way everything fell together or
- 29:40maybe Boston just thought they were going to run right all over
- 29:43the New York Knicks. But the other two teams, they
- 29:45had problems. Detroit was a hard team and they
- 29:47had problems with them in the first, in the first first round.
- 29:51And I they definitely have problems against Indiana.
- 29:53If they expect to play that gritty kind of game, the Knicks
- 29:57are not going to beat those teams.
- 29:58Detroit's tougher than them. The Celtics are tougher than
- 30:01them. And, and I would say the only I
- 30:03would say Cleveland isn't tougher than them, but there are
- 30:06other teams that if they're match up, could you imagine a
- 30:08Hawks match up against the New York Knicks?
- 30:10I. Would be afraid of the Hawks.
- 30:12He would. He would be the.
- 30:12Hawks I would be afraid of. He's cover the low guys, He's
- 30:15cover the low. I'd be afraid of the Hawks
- 30:17because they're a tough team. They play tough now that Trey
- 30:20Young is gone. They're they're tough and they
- 30:23don't go out there and talk or curse out to the fans like Trey
- 30:26Young or giving the fans the finger.
- 30:28They go out and they play fundamental to fundamental
- 30:31basketball and fundamental teams are those teams that I work
- 30:34worry about because they got players that will play hard and
- 30:37play at the top, play at a top level against the top team.
- 30:40The Hawks all the spark they needed is to get rid of two
- 30:42players that Knicks fans love, Trey Young and Chris Tops
- 30:44forcing. Yeah, but I mean, I think the
- 30:48Knicks are, like I said, they got an identity crisis and I
- 30:51think they're using their offense as their defense.
- 30:53But the problem is that you're going to have to stop somebody
- 30:55at some point. And so I know you're a big fan
- 30:58of OG, but I think they're going to need him to get over at least
- 31:0220 or better to be able to compete in the playoffs.
- 31:04Because I do think as the playoffs continue, Cat is just
- 31:07going to stretch out and he's going to be taking a lot more
- 31:09threes than he need to. And he's not.
- 31:11He doesn't want to be a true big man.
- 31:12And that's what they need. And with Janet Burson
- 31:15utilization and then use it, wait and then having him step
- 31:18out and shoot the three, it's just not going to cut it if that
- 31:20shot is not making. So that's my concern is when the
- 31:23shot not going in, what are you going to do?
- 31:24Because you don't play defense. Yeah, You know, Q, he didn't
- 31:27even attempt a single three and they were working the offense
- 31:29through him last night in this Memphis when he didn't take 1/3
- 31:33pointer. Yeah, I mean, he had a good day,
- 31:35but. I mean he's dominant unless he
- 31:37just start whining about not getting calls.
- 31:39Turn the ball over a lot, too. Yeah, if he take that away, he
- 31:42could really be a good stretch 5.
- 31:44Stretch 4. And it's Mike Brown, and I'm
- 31:46going to tell you this right now.
- 31:47If Mike Brown gets knocked out in the first round, he could be
- 31:501 and done this year. They could fire him after this.
- 31:52Show you guys we face the census.
- 31:54What do you think? They'll beat the Sixers, I
- 31:57think. They'll beat the Sixers, yeah.
- 31:59The thing with the Sixers is I don't trust the Sixers and I
- 32:04don't trust. Their family.
- 32:05And that's what I'm saying, if they healthy, do you trust that
- 32:08and this can go and can beat them in a series?
- 32:10I think the Knicks will beat them in a series.
- 32:12I don't trust the Sixers. I don't trust them as a team.
- 32:16I like Tyrese Maxi, I think he's a great player, but am I going
- 32:19to trust Joelle Embiid? I don't even know if Paul George
- 32:21is going to be ready. I don't even know if he'll be
- 32:23healthy enough to play in if in a full series against the New
- 32:26York Knicks. I don't trust.
- 32:28I don't trust their. Team Aaron Glenn said at the NFL
- 32:31annual meeting. Yeah, I heard that Geno Smith
- 32:35will lead The Jets to the Promised Land.
- 32:38This being Passover, as you know, second night of Passover.
- 32:41I thought this was a relevant thing to bring up the promised
- 32:44Land and Aaron from the Bible. The name Aaron, just like my
- 32:47name. I was there the day Gino was
- 32:49drafted. At no point in my life that I
- 32:52ever think him in the promised Land.
- 32:53We're going to come up on this one together.
- 32:55Maybe the promised land is what JPP found because he thinks he's
- 32:58healthy enough to go back to the Big Blue and play for the Giants
- 33:02one more time at age. Got to be around in his late 30s
- 33:05and I know he only has about 7-7 or eight fingers left on his
- 33:08hands. I don't know how he's doing it,
- 33:10but God bless that man. He was on the practice squad of
- 33:13the Bucks last year. Is, is Aaron Glenn part of a
- 33:17movie called Babes in Toyland or Laurel and Hardy movie?
- 33:20Because there is no way that this guy is going to take him to
- 33:25the promised land. Maybe three wins, five wins at
- 33:28best promised land not going to happen.
- 33:31This is there's nobody on this roster as as far as quarterbacks
- 33:34are concerned that is going to take him to the promised land.
- 33:37Now, if they bring in Ty Simpson and let him sit and let him
- 33:39learn and and he develops, maybe that happens.
- 33:42Maybe they go and draft a quarterback next year and Dante
- 33:45or. Or no, he said Manning.
- 33:46Or whatever, whoever, whoever they decide, they're going to
- 33:49have to hope on whoever they draft to be their future Geno
- 33:54Smith. He's the same guy that got
- 33:55knocked out by a linebacker because even paying $500 because
- 33:58of a bat, because of playing poker, whatever the hell it was.
- 34:02And, and again, I hope this thing, I hope this thing helps
- 34:06Geno Smith understand what the New York media is and what the
- 34:09New York fans are all about because it didn't work the last
- 34:11time he was here. But I, I don't think he's bad.
- 34:14I don't think Geno Smith, I think he's better than any any
- 34:17of the quarterbacks The Jets have had since, you know, Aaron
- 34:20Rod. I mean, Aaron Rodgers wasn't
- 34:22even good, so I don't even know. So I mean, maybe Sam Dolan, Mark
- 34:26Sanchez, he wasn't even that good either.
- 34:27So I mean, there hasn't been anything Christian Hackettberg
- 34:31couldn't hit bronze side of a barn or something.
- 34:33Like. That you could only hit a
- 34:35report. Chad Pennington.
- 34:36I like Chad Pennington. If he stayed healthy, if you
- 34:38didn't have shoulder problems, Chad could have been great.
- 34:40He really could have been. He was, I think Aaron is crazy,
- 34:43man. I think, I mean, he said that
- 34:45fell asleep at the combine. Then he's talking about
- 34:48integrating AI into coaching and things of that nature.
- 34:51So I think he's all over the place.
- 34:53He don't have an identity. Don't think that Gino then is
- 34:56even thinking about taking The Jets to the promised land.
- 34:59So I think he's just trying to stay relevant in the news or
- 35:02whatever, and he's doing a pretty good job at it as far as
- 35:04being in the news, but all for the wrong reason.
- 35:07All right, and let's finish with hockey.
- 35:09There was a goalie fight between the Rangers and Devils goalie
- 35:13this week. That was awesome.
- 35:15Igor just Sturken got charged by Devil's winger in the crease,
- 35:20Paul Cotter. He went after him.
- 35:22Markstrom then skated the length of the ice only to get put down
- 35:26by Igor. I knew he what an awesome, what
- 35:29an awesome job. The highlight of the Rangers.
- 35:33Who cares? They're both not making the
- 35:34playoffs. Nobody cares who.
- 35:37Won. Rangers didn't.
- 35:38It was. A good fight.
- 35:39It was a good fight. You got to admit.
- 35:41It was a good. It was a.
- 35:41Good back and forth and he put them down.
- 35:43Kelly Rooney, Patrick Wall was a good fight.
- 35:45That was not OK. Please.
- 35:48Patrick, Patrick and Give. Us nothing to be excited about.
- 35:51More importantly though, just to finish off Sabres, play the
- 35:54Islanders and beat them four to three on a goal by Krebs with
- 35:58three minutes left. That puts the Sabres at 100
- 36:01points for the season and gives them the first place spot
- 36:06currently in the Atlantic Division and the most points.
- 36:09I also believe in all of the Eastern Conference, the
- 36:12Islanders are third in the Metro.
- 36:14They have a one point lead on the Blue Jackets, but the Blue
- 36:16Jackets have a game in hand. They also leave the last wild
- 36:20card spot over the Senators by three points, but Ottawa has two
- 36:24games in hand. I'm not worried.
- 36:26I'm not worried about the Islanders.
- 36:27I think the Islanders will sneak into the playoffs, even if if
- 36:30there's an eighth seed. We might see the Buffalo Sabres
- 36:32in the Islanders in the first round of the Battle of New York.
- 36:35That would be fun to watch. It's not the Rangers in the
- 36:38Islanders that every New York fan wants to see, but it'll be
- 36:41fun. The Buffalo Sabres are a young
- 36:42team up and coming team. They're they're loaded and they
- 36:45they have a tremendous type of player like Tage Thompson, who
- 36:49has been so sensational all season long, including winning a
- 36:52gold with Team USA. I'm not.
- 36:54And again, the Islanders, all they got to do is make the
- 36:57playoffs and anything could happen.
- 36:58They have a great goaltender in Sorokin who's probably going to
- 37:01win goalie of the year. I mean, his metrics would tell
- 37:03you that he should. And they have probably arguably
- 37:06the best young player right now in hockey.
- 37:09So I, I, that's what you want to see.
- 37:11I want to see Buffalo in the Challengers making and see the
- 37:13battle of New York. Nothing really impressive about
- 37:17the Rangers and the Devils fighting goaltenders.
- 37:20Whoever is beating the hell out of anybody, the only thing
- 37:22they're going to be pounding out is beers on a golf course at the
- 37:26end of the season. They can hang out on the golf
- 37:28course and beat the hell out of each other there.
- 37:29I could care less. Yeah, the Islanders, I think
- 37:32they were due to level out a little bit, but they haven't
- 37:34really gone on any bad stretches yet, so I think they will still
- 37:36be fine too. Ottawa was a very streak reliant
- 37:38team there in the first wild card out and Buffalo's play them
- 37:41tonight. So they're going to actually get
- 37:42a little help from Buffalo and Buffalo, yeah, they've weathered
- 37:45the course very well, getting a better goaltending now.
- 37:47That was the question coming in. If they can get in the playoffs,
- 37:49they're definitely dangerous. All right, Lee Carousel.
- 37:52That is the concrete jungle carousel.
- 37:55And now, ladies and gentlemen, the deuce of the day.
- 37:57The deuce of the day, you log, not a log.
- 38:01I don't have a log, but no. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 38:11I was hanging out in the facility today and I'm, I'm not
- 38:13talking about the bathroom because we are talking about the
- 38:16deuce of the day. But I was hanging out at the
- 38:18office today and before I left, I was talking about media day,
- 38:22going to the Ducks media day and hanging out and interviewing
- 38:25some of the players. And then I get a call and a text
- 38:28message from Fish and he tells me that Trevor Bauer just signed
- 38:32a contract for this year to play for the Ducks.
- 38:35That's great because Trevor Bauer is one of the highest and
- 38:38most dislike players in the Major League.
- 38:41What was in the major leagues? There's a lot of stories behind
- 38:44some of the background. Jabba didn't like him, a lot of
- 38:47people don't like him, and now I got to get a chance.
- 38:49I'm going to have a media pass all season long to go to Ducks
- 38:52games and get as much information as I possibly can
- 38:56from Trevor Bauer as he signs a contract with the Ducks.
- 39:00I'm loving it. Now I can get all the
- 39:02information I need. I can use it to attack the major
- 39:06leagues, attack everybody that spoke about him, including Jabba
- 39:09Chamberlain that came on the show and said he was a nasty,
- 39:12mean person. I'm just, I'm very intrigued
- 39:16because I'm going to get as much content as I possibly can from
- 39:19this guy. I don't know if it's a deuce of
- 39:20the day or it's the goal of the day because my goal this year is
- 39:24to get all the information I possibly can from Trevor Bauer
- 39:29to attack the MLB to top and Ted Tack, Rob Manfred, Manford or
- 39:34whatever you call him. This is a great story, ladies
- 39:36and gentlemen. I'm loving it.
- 39:38I'm seeping it. I'm happy, Speedy.
- 39:40You're happy, right? Who cares what you like?
- 39:44Oh, that's beautiful. Trevor Bauer coming to Long
- 39:48Island with the Ducks. Got to reach out to Nick Goody.
- 39:51When Nick Goody comes out in a couple of weeks, maybe we'll go
- 39:53to a a Bower game. He's out here.
- 39:55We'll go check out Trevor Bauer because they're buddies.
- 39:58Even though Jabba and him didn't like each other.
