- 0:07Speaker 1: It's Me podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the only game show where
- 0:13Speaker 2: conservation always wins. I'm your host, Spencer new Art and
- 0:16Speaker 2: today we're joined by Randall, Seth, Corey, Max, Marge and Logan.
- 0:20Speaker 2: This is a ten round quiz show with questions from
- 0:22Speaker 2: meat Eater's four verticals, which are hunting, fishing, conservation and cooking.
- 0:26Speaker 2: There is a prize. Meat Eater will donate five hundred
- 0:28Speaker 2: dollars to the conservation organization of the winners choosing. All right,
- 0:33Speaker 2: we have a mail bag question today. If you have
- 0:35Speaker 2: a mail bag question, send it to Trivia at the
- 0:38Speaker 2: medeater dot com with the subject line mail bag and
- 0:41Speaker 2: the crew maybe answer it on a future episode. This
- 0:44Speaker 2: is from Chuck Jennings. He says, I'm moving this summer
- 0:47Speaker 2: and I'm looking to buy my first gun cabinet. It's
- 0:50Speaker 2: pretty overwhelming and a big investment. Do you have any
- 0:52Speaker 2: brands or features you recommend? Looking for any advice thoughts
- 0:57Speaker 2: from the crew.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Just make sure big enough.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Big enough. Yeah, I would say the number one thing
- 1:03Speaker 2: is that a gun safe. Gun cabinet ratings are a
- 1:06Speaker 2: lot like sleeping bags or tents, and that if it
- 1:09Speaker 2: says it's rated for twenty guns, you're probably only getting
- 1:12Speaker 2: ten of them in there. Twenty guns is like if
- 1:14Speaker 2: they're all twenty two's without any optics and you don't
- 1:16Speaker 2: keep any optics or any amo or the other things
- 1:19Speaker 2: that gun safe tend to collect. So overshop, if Chuck
- 1:23Speaker 2: has twelve guns he's looking to protect, maybe look for
- 1:26Speaker 2: a twenty four gun cabinet gun safe.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Here's a question for you.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Yes, gun cabinet or gun safe.
- 1:32Speaker 2: He says, gun cabinet. My guess is he's using it interchangeably.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Max pointed this out earlier when I told him this
- 1:38Speaker 2: is a question would be answering. A gun cabinet is
- 1:40Speaker 2: like a wooden thing with glass doors.
- 1:42Speaker 3: You can break into it really easy.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Okay, a gun cabinet, it wouldn't be fireproof. Is that?
- 1:50Speaker 2: Is that how you would define it?
- 1:51Speaker 5: That's how I would define it. Like if you buy
- 1:53Speaker 5: a metal locker, Yes, that's I would call that a
- 1:57Speaker 5: gun cabinet when I'm stack one exactly Like it's like
- 2:02Speaker 5: a steel box.
- 2:03Speaker 2: With a door, doesn't have a fire rating, doesn't have
- 2:05Speaker 2: a fluck.
- 2:06Speaker 1: And it's not heavy as sin.
- 2:09Speaker 2: He says, cabinet. My guess is he's in the market
- 2:11Speaker 2: for a cabinet or a safe. So when you're giving
- 2:13Speaker 2: Chuck your advice, Randall either one. What do you have
- 2:16Speaker 2: for Chuck Man?
- 2:17Speaker 5: I just think for the amount of money it's spend
- 2:19Speaker 5: on a gun safe, you could buy a few guns
- 2:21Speaker 5: that you wouldn't mind getting stolen.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Oh okay, I'll be honest.
- 2:28Speaker 5: I've never imagined myself owning a gun safe, just based
- 2:32Speaker 5: on the sticker price. For those of you that own
- 2:36Speaker 5: gun safe, power to you. I don't have a lot
- 2:40Speaker 5: of sentimental attachment to my firearms. Not to say that
- 2:43Speaker 5: I'm looking to lose them in a fire or a
- 2:45Speaker 5: home invision, but I just there's it would take a
- 2:49Speaker 5: lot for me to think, like, here's where I want
- 2:52Speaker 5: to dump all this cash. On the other hand, people
- 2:57Speaker 5: can't move safes. My buddy had a guy wrote or
- 3:01Speaker 5: he had a crew of teens roll a gun locker
- 3:04Speaker 5: full of guns out of his house. Wow, and to
- 3:07Speaker 5: the back of a Honda Cord. You couldn't have done
- 3:10Speaker 5: that with a gun safe.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Did he get the gun cabinet back?
- 3:14Speaker 5: No, he got one of the guns back. I think
- 3:16Speaker 5: I've told the story before. He got one of the
- 3:18Speaker 5: guns back when it was released from the evidence hold
- 3:22Speaker 5: in a homicide trial. But most of the guns probably
- 3:25Speaker 5: went into He was told that most of them probably
- 3:28Speaker 5: went into a body of water.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Because they were so obscure. Damn. Yeah, Like.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Just like, who's going to commit a crime with a
- 3:36Speaker 5: nine to three by seventy two?
- 3:37Speaker 1: You know, I don't know.
- 3:40Speaker 5: I just I gun lockers, like buy him big, because
- 3:45Speaker 5: not only do you want to fit the guns in there,
- 3:47Speaker 5: you don't want to have to move.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Guns around to get a gun out.
- 3:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Right, It's just the whole thing is bad.
- 3:53Speaker 7: I would say if if he says he's moving, right,
- 3:56Speaker 7: he's moving, so I think he's waiting until the move happens,
- 3:58Speaker 7: and yeah, wants to like make sure it fits in
- 4:02Speaker 7: his space. I'll just say maybe in his new house
- 4:04Speaker 7: he has like a closet, there's something that you can
- 4:06Speaker 7: lock up and have like a little gun room rather
- 4:10Speaker 7: than a gun cabinet.
- 4:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I think a Hornet is safe is making components
- 4:15Speaker 5: where you can build you can like frame in I
- 4:18Speaker 5: love that a little locker into your closet and then
- 4:21Speaker 5: put the door on it. I believe Hornety is doing that,
- 4:24Speaker 5: but that's probably what I would do.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Yeah. My friend now who had the locker.
- 4:28Speaker 5: Stolen, he has a space under his stairs.
- 4:32Speaker 1: That he's made into a safe.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I have what you would define as a cabinet
- 4:36Speaker 2: or locker. If a fire comes through my house, I
- 4:39Speaker 2: don't think like my guns are going to be in
- 4:41Speaker 2: the top twenty five things I'm thinking about, you know,
- 4:44Speaker 2: after a tall set and donner wall.
- 4:45Speaker 3: It's happening.
- 4:45Speaker 2: So I'm just like taking that risk that if a
- 4:49Speaker 2: flutter fire happens, my guns are gone. Corey Max, any
- 4:54Speaker 2: advice for Chuck and don't lose those keys to break into.
- 4:59Speaker 4: The I'm still hung up on the safe versus cabinet.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Think.
- 5:05Speaker 6: When I think of cabinet, I'm thinking of at my lakehouse,
- 5:08Speaker 6: It's like the guns are presented really nicely, you know,
- 5:11Speaker 6: but then the gun is like are safe in the
- 5:14Speaker 6: kitchen here?
- 5:15Speaker 3: You know it's locked. You have to put multiple codes
- 5:18Speaker 3: in there and in the kitchen here.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I also don't have a lake house.
- 5:22Speaker 6: No, but that's what I'm saying, Like, when I think
- 5:24Speaker 6: of cabinet, I think of like really nice, elegant wood.
- 5:28Speaker 5: So here's here's one that thought that I have when
- 5:31Speaker 5: it comes to this stuff is I have A, I
- 5:33Speaker 5: have a cabinet in my closet, but then I also
- 5:38Speaker 5: just want to have a separate cabinet in my garage
- 5:40Speaker 5: for guns that are just going in and out of
- 5:42Speaker 5: my truck all the time. Okay, because I ended up
- 5:44Speaker 5: just leaving a lot of guns laying around.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Sure, I thought that was going to be your dummy cabinet.
- 5:48Speaker 5: No, no, no, right now, the dummy cabinet is just
- 5:51Speaker 5: like a rifle on my reloading bench, a rifle sitting
- 5:55Speaker 5: on top of my drawers, a rifle laying on a
- 5:57Speaker 5: folding table. But I'd like to have two, one for
- 6:01Speaker 5: the in and out and one for like the shotguns
- 6:03Speaker 5: that I bring out once a year.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I like to know that you're not a gun
- 6:07Speaker 2: safe man.
- 6:08Speaker 5: No. The other thing is I don't have enough room
- 6:11Speaker 5: to lock up all of my guns when people with
- 6:14Speaker 5: kids come over to our house, so then I spend
- 6:17Speaker 5: an inordinate enough time hiding them in places above six feet.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Tall, and then you lose, and then I can remember
- 6:22Speaker 2: when I.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Put them right. So there's no rad answer. You just
- 6:27Speaker 1: got to know your own situation.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Any other thoughts for Chuck before we move on?
- 6:31Speaker 1: Great question, Gouck, Chuck.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Today's episode is brought to you by Mountain Dew and
- 6:38Speaker 2: thanks to them, you were getting some extra trivia this
- 6:40Speaker 2: week between questions five and six. Today we'll have two
- 6:43Speaker 2: bonus questions again thanks to our friends of Mountain Dew.
- 6:47Speaker 2: All Right, the Shelby in extra today it is a five,
- 6:49Speaker 2: so I'm putting us on perfect score alert. With that,
- 6:52Speaker 2: we're onto the game of trivia played.
- 6:54Speaker 4: The drop of bills not gonna happen for me today.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I need to know what I shouldta wayam you just
- 7:03Speaker 2: tend to win everything?
- 7:06Speaker 6: Is that?
- 7:11Speaker 2: Yeah? On Suckers Question one, the topic is hunting. This
- 7:16Speaker 2: first great question is via Matt Henderson and as always,
- 7:19Speaker 2: it will be multiple choice. If a four to ten
- 7:23Speaker 2: shotgun followed the same naming pattern as the twelve and
- 7:26Speaker 2: twenty gauge, then what would it be called? Is it
- 7:30Speaker 2: the twenty five point eight gauge, the forty point one gauge,
- 7:35Speaker 2: the sixty seven point five gauge or ninety five point
- 7:38Speaker 2: six gauge?
- 7:39Speaker 3: Oh wow? Question?
- 7:43Speaker 2: If a four to ten shotgun followed the same naming
- 7:46Speaker 2: pattern as the twelve and twenty gauge, then what would
- 7:50Speaker 2: it be called? The twenty five point eight gauge forty
- 7:54Speaker 2: point one sixty seven point five ninety five point six.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Randall quick to answers because you didn't because you knew it,
- 8:03Speaker 2: or because you didn't want to think about it too hard.
- 8:05Speaker 5: No, I've known this, Okay, I'm not certain, but it
- 8:12Speaker 5: is something that I've looked into before.
- 8:16Speaker 2: If a four to ten followed the same naming logic
- 8:20Speaker 2: as a twelve and twenty gauge, what would it be called?
- 8:23Speaker 2: Twenty five point eight gauge forty point one sixty seven
- 8:27Speaker 2: point five ninety five point six?
- 8:30Speaker 1: Makes me think about your punt gun episode.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Here any day. No, it does come out later this week,
- 8:37Speaker 2: and we address this exact thing in that episode. That's
- 8:41Speaker 2: what made me think of this a few times now.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Oh belief for you, I've yet.
- 8:47Speaker 8: To see it, Okay, Max, have you watched it.
- 8:49Speaker 3: I haven't know.
- 8:50Speaker 9: We filmed it, filmed it.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Get this one right, Yeah, if you'd watched it.
- 8:56Speaker 8: I still think the video of you and Max pulling
- 8:59Speaker 8: the string together.
- 9:00Speaker 3: It was very cute.
- 9:01Speaker 8: It was really cute.
- 9:02Speaker 1: That make it it? Dang it?
- 9:04Speaker 8: No, it's not myself.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I got we'll do it.
- 9:08Speaker 4: I know I shoot four tens all the time.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Is everybody ready, No, yes, sure, Maxwell, how many four
- 9:17Speaker 2: tens do you own?
- 9:19Speaker 3: I only need one?
- 9:20Speaker 1: Okay, but how money do you own one? I only
- 9:25Speaker 1: need one rifle, but I got more one geez yeah,
- 9:29Speaker 1: tell me about it.
- 9:30Speaker 8: It is.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Everybody ready, Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says
- 9:35Speaker 2: twenty five point eight, Logan sixty seven point five, Randall
- 9:41Speaker 2: sixty seven point five, March sixty seven point five, Cory
- 9:46Speaker 2: sixty seven point five, Maximus twenty five point eight. The
- 9:51Speaker 2: correct answer is sixty seven point five.
- 9:55Speaker 1: It did well.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I think six, I think you and I we think
- 9:58Speaker 2: got that one right. A twelve gage shotgun means it
- 10:04Speaker 2: would take twelve solid lead balls the exact size of
- 10:08Speaker 2: the barrel's diameter to get one pound. So for a
- 10:11Speaker 2: four to ten that means it would take sixty seven
- 10:14Speaker 2: point five lead balls that perfectly fit in the barrel
- 10:17Speaker 2: to get one pound. The four to ten name refers
- 10:20Speaker 2: to the point four to one zero inch bore diameter
- 10:24Speaker 2: that the shotgun has. If you took a lead ball
- 10:27Speaker 2: that fit exactly in the end of a twelve gage,
- 10:30Speaker 2: twelve of those would make one pound of lead.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Steve Talks thought this all the time.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Sixty seven point five question too. The topic is fishing.
- 10:38Speaker 2: This panfish inspired name is what bait shops often call
- 10:43Speaker 2: small fat head minnows. This panfish inspired name is what
- 10:52Speaker 2: bait shops often call small fat head minnows.
- 10:55Speaker 3: All right, flip your boards, let's go.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Minnows are minners.
- 11:00Speaker 7: Either one side of the amazing Dixon you're on.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Seth was just talking about getting a vending machine maybe,
- 11:07Speaker 2: and I told me she put bait in there. Yeah,
- 11:12Speaker 2: This panfish inspired name is what bait chomps often called
- 11:16Speaker 2: small bat head minnows.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I like that vending machine idea though.
- 11:20Speaker 10: It's like an aquarium, and it's just like you want.
- 11:25Speaker 1: It serves us both an aquarium and.
- 11:27Speaker 4: A bit shop.
- 11:28Speaker 2: These are a real thing, but usually it's like leeches
- 11:30Speaker 2: and worms they're buying out of a bait vending machine.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I don't think they have these.
- 11:35Speaker 8: I'm thinking more of like a gumball machine. So it
- 11:37Speaker 8: looks like a round aquarium.
- 11:39Speaker 2: That's good too, Yeah, but the little spines, Randall, do
- 11:44Speaker 2: you have this one right?
- 11:46Speaker 1: Uh No?
- 11:48Speaker 5: I sort of thought about this question backwards and now I'm
- 11:52Speaker 5: starting from scratch again.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Max, do you have this one right?
- 11:54Speaker 1: Okay?
- 11:56Speaker 2: Very confident, didn't even need to finish the question. He
- 11:58Speaker 2: had his answer.
- 11:59Speaker 1: How do you know this as a wallet? Dan?
- 12:01Speaker 7: Uh?
- 12:01Speaker 3: No, Just, I used to buy them all the time.
- 12:04Speaker 6: You know, my lake house with my gun cabinet, good
- 12:07Speaker 6: North Dakota. The sunnies are spawning at the local pond
- 12:12Speaker 6: by my house. It's really cool, Just, I mean, they're
- 12:15Speaker 6: all just little dinks, but they're just running around chasing
- 12:18Speaker 6: each other and so aggressive.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I haven't fished.
- 12:22Speaker 7: Yeah, I was fishing largemouth this past weekend and the
- 12:26Speaker 7: the blue gill beds were where you were finding the
- 12:31Speaker 7: large mouth Yeah, close by the blue gill beds.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I was just in Minnesota and it was like peak
- 12:36Speaker 2: bluegill spawn there, and they were so wildly aggressive that
- 12:40Speaker 2: they would like swim up to my paddle of my
- 12:42Speaker 2: kayak and want to fight it despite it being you know.
- 12:46Speaker 7: I went through so many baits this weekend because of
- 12:48Speaker 7: the freaking blue aggressive.
- 12:51Speaker 2: They'll grab a wacky worm, no problem, They'll like go
- 12:53Speaker 2: after a frog on the top water panfish inspired name
- 12:58Speaker 2: is what bait shops often call small head minnows. Is
- 13:00Speaker 2: everybody ready?
- 13:01Speaker 6: No hold on?
- 13:03Speaker 2: I hope I'm we distracted Seth very very embarrassing.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Though handfish inspired.
- 13:12Speaker 2: This panfish inspired name is what bait shops often called
- 13:16Speaker 2: small bad head minnows. Max isn't sure if he has
- 13:23Speaker 2: it right now? Okay, pretty sure, Corey? Do you like
- 13:28Speaker 2: your answer? Okay, Seth, Randall you boys ready?
- 13:33Speaker 1: Uh sure?
- 13:35Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says brim Logan shiners,
- 13:41Speaker 2: Randall Croppy, Chubb Marge. Without an answer, Corey says Brimos,
- 13:47Speaker 2: that's a great name. Maxwell says croppy. The correct answer
- 13:51Speaker 2: is croppy minnows. So I think Max we would give
- 13:58Speaker 2: it to. But if I give it to Max, then
- 14:00Speaker 2: I need to give it to Crappy.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Is closer. You have crappy.
- 14:07Speaker 2: It's a crappy minnow.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I would say.
- 14:11Speaker 2: I'd say either either you both are getting it. You're
- 14:13Speaker 2: neither one of you are going to get Well.
- 14:16Speaker 6: Here's here's my thought. What do you call the other
- 14:19Speaker 6: style minnow? The other well doesn't just be a.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Fathead minnow or I think maybe somebody people would call
- 14:25Speaker 2: him a Walleye minnow if you're in Minnesota or a.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Let's give it to Max.
- 14:30Speaker 3: I would give it to Randall.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Let's give it to Max, don't give it to me, Okay,
- 14:33Speaker 2: I like Maxwell gets that right. They are crappy minnows.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Crappy minnows are simply smaller minnows, which are likely females
- 14:43Speaker 2: or immature males. Bait shops will often sort their fat
- 14:47Speaker 2: heads into two sizes, with crappy minnows being the shorter
- 14:50Speaker 2: of the two. As the name implies, crappy minnows are
- 14:53Speaker 2: small enough to fit in the mouth of crappie and
- 14:56Speaker 2: other panfish. Here is a picture of a male versus
- 15:00Speaker 2: a female fat head mino. On the top that would
- 15:03Speaker 2: be your traditional fat head minnow, and on the bottom
- 15:07Speaker 2: would be a crappy minnow reneth. Does that now sound
- 15:11Speaker 2: familiar now that you've heard it?
- 15:12Speaker 1: I know, I never who likes creek chubs, creek jubb.
- 15:16Speaker 1: That's a good fish.
- 15:17Speaker 6: Like Max isn't gonna win this game, so I don't know.
- 15:21Speaker 5: I thought mine was not close. I second thought, I thought,
- 15:25Speaker 5: you know, does say minnows in the question?
- 15:28Speaker 8: That's kind of what I thought it was implied.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so good for you, Max.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Question three, the topic is wildlife. This next great question,
- 15:36Speaker 2: Joshua Banks. This animal with a colorful name is Africa's
- 15:42Speaker 2: longest venomous snake. Hmm, the room has gone quiet. This
- 15:55Speaker 2: animal with a colorful name is Africa's longest venomous snake.
- 16:01Speaker 9: Bone for somebody who's just saith you were just over there,
- 16:04Speaker 9: but he didn't like it and he won't go back.
- 16:08Speaker 2: He didn't like it, maybe because of this colorful snake.
- 16:12Speaker 2: This animal with a colorful name is Africa's longest venomous snake. Randall,
- 16:18Speaker 2: do you have this one right? I don't know.
- 16:22Speaker 1: It's got a venomous snake in Africa, have colorful name.
- 16:30Speaker 1: That's the question. Could that be open to interpretation?
- 16:35Speaker 2: Marge is doing to me racing? Corey? Do you have
- 16:38Speaker 2: this one right?
- 16:38Speaker 3: Man?
- 16:39Speaker 1: I sure hope.
- 16:39Speaker 2: So this animal with a colorful name is Africa's longest
- 16:44Speaker 2: venomous snake.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Let me ask you a question.
- 16:52Speaker 2: No, I'm not going to answer it. So what's the
- 16:56Speaker 2: question you can you can ask if.
- 16:58Speaker 1: You if it's gonna give everyone hint.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I think I'm just gonna say no.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Though, what a real what a real hoophead? Like?
- 17:07Speaker 2: The answer I'm not going to give you any.
- 17:12Speaker 1: That's clever?
- 17:14Speaker 2: Does that help you? Corey? I think I know what
- 17:17Speaker 2: he's stepping in.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I don't.
- 17:24Speaker 2: What a real hoople head. Get this one right, hoople
- 17:28Speaker 2: head is in Deadwood. What they would call maybe if
- 17:31Speaker 2: you're going to call someone a really mean name, you
- 17:33Speaker 2: know that started with like F instead, you'd call him
- 17:36Speaker 2: a hooplehead in Deadwood the show.
- 17:40Speaker 1: What's the meaning?
- 17:42Speaker 2: I don't know, Just like silly Goose, same thing. You're
- 17:46Speaker 2: just calling him something mean, but like in a more
- 17:50Speaker 2: western quirky way.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Mike just got unplugged.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Here from Randall. The rest of the episode.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Now come in, Phil you okay, connections.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Over there for this animal with a colorful name is
- 18:07Speaker 2: Africa's longest venomous snake. It's everybody ready, it's like this,
- 18:12Speaker 2: it looks like that. Go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Set black mamba logan, black mamba logan, black mamba, March
- 18:21Speaker 2: without an answer, Cory, black mamba, Maxwell without an answer.
- 18:25Speaker 2: The correct answer is the black mamba. Yeah uh. And
- 18:34Speaker 2: as Randall referred to, that was Kobe Bryant's nickname. Yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 1: It throws me off when you use colorful.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Yeah, colorful and like if you were in an art store.
- 18:45Speaker 9: Other question, Yes, Randall, we lost your mic again.
- 18:50Speaker 1: But we're just not gonna Maybe it's can you hear me?
- 18:53Speaker 9: I'll come over there during the next question and try
- 18:55Speaker 9: to colorful.
- 18:57Speaker 1: That's gone again.
- 18:59Speaker 8: That black black color doesn't mean colorful though a color,
- 19:04Speaker 8: but it's one color. Colorful implies alerts.
- 19:07Speaker 1: I there's.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Colorful. The funny thing is mambas not even black. They're
- 19:14Speaker 2: like olive.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Am I backfill your backup? Just just try. I'm not
- 19:19Speaker 1: going to touch it at all.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Measuring over fourteen feet long, the black mamba is second
- 19:24Speaker 2: only to the king cobra as the world's longest venomous snake.
- 19:28Speaker 2: It's also one of the planet's fastest snakes, reaching twelve
- 19:31Speaker 2: miles per hour in short bursts. Untreated humans have a
- 19:35Speaker 2: ninety five percent mortality rate when bitten by black mamba,
- 19:39Speaker 2: but if anti venom is quickly administered, fatality rates drop
- 19:43Speaker 2: below ten percent. Seth, did you guys see any black moms?
- 19:46Speaker 1: I wish they would have told us that when we
- 19:48Speaker 1: were there. It's kind of like if you get bit,
- 19:50Speaker 1: you're dead.
- 19:51Speaker 7: Yes, I didn't see any, because you know I was
- 19:55Speaker 7: in car too, But the dude's in car one saw one.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Didn't they see them?
- 20:00Speaker 1: One?
- 20:01Speaker 2: Like going the speed of the car.
- 20:03Speaker 7: They came around a corner and there was one in
- 20:05Speaker 7: the road trying to get get away. But then it
- 20:07Speaker 7: turned and like came up over the hood of the
- 20:11Speaker 7: vehicle and then scared.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Off the film it No, there.
- 20:17Speaker 7: Was on the roof of the truck trying to get away.
- 20:24Speaker 1: The snake was coming up over there.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Max's drawing was pretty good because I think it's like
- 20:27Speaker 2: over half their body they can get in the air.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah on the movie. Yeah, sorry, I saw rattlesnake this weekend.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I didn't like that.
- 20:34Speaker 2: No, thank you, spooky question for the topic it public lands.
- 20:39Speaker 2: It was revealed in a twenty twenty two lawsuit that
- 20:43Speaker 2: this man's treasure was found in Yellowstone National Park.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Last name just last name.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Last name will suffice. I respect the jeopardy rules when
- 20:56Speaker 2: it comes to last name. It was revealed in a
- 20:59Speaker 2: twenty two lawsuit that this man's treasure was found in
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yellowstone National Park. Yeah, fill the engineers now on the scene.
- 21:09Speaker 1: What a guy, Yeah sounds good. Mess with the other one.
- 21:13Speaker 1: I think the other one was the one that was
- 21:15Speaker 1: causing the issue.
- 21:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I think it was probably in there because what
- 21:20Speaker 5: I did to mess it up moved the microphone arm down.
- 21:26Speaker 5: So I think Phil fixed it brilliantly.
- 21:29Speaker 1: He saw what the issue was and everything's better now.
- 21:32Speaker 2: That's why they call him filed the Engineer. It was
- 21:34Speaker 2: revealed in a twenty twenty two lawsuit that this man's
- 21:38Speaker 2: treasure was found in Yellowstone National Park.
- 21:41Speaker 3: I remember hearing about this, but.
- 21:44Speaker 1: You should go watch the doc on.
- 21:45Speaker 3: It, oh I did.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about the Meat.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Eater podcast episode. Yeah, or read any.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Of my articles. I know Spencer was twenty.
- 21:59Speaker 8: Two.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Did you ever go look for I mildly looked for it,
- 22:02Speaker 2: so I of course, like they were like, I was close.
- 22:06Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 22:06Speaker 2: My best guess was that it was by gardener. I
- 22:09Speaker 2: thought it would actually be in the Costernnational Forest right
- 22:12Speaker 2: outside based on some clues. He talks about the House
- 22:15Speaker 2: of Brown Yea, and he talks about the river on fire,
- 22:19Speaker 2: which I thought would have been the Boiling River Yankee
- 22:22Speaker 2: Jim Canyon. I thought was part of the salt. We
- 22:24Speaker 2: could talk about it after, so I would like kind
- 22:27Speaker 2: of plan rock hounting fishing hunting trips in the area,
- 22:31Speaker 2: and you know, maybe just like look behind the logs
- 22:34Speaker 2: or like you know, walk over to this creek to
- 22:36Speaker 2: look at the stream bed just in case it was
- 22:39Speaker 2: so I would say I was a hunter of this treasure.
- 22:44Speaker 4: Gosh, I can't think of it.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I wrote. I then wrote after after it was revealed
- 22:49Speaker 2: that it was found, they didn't reveal the location until
- 22:52Speaker 2: a few years later. In the weeks after it was found,
- 22:55Speaker 2: I wrote anartical on her website saying, these are the
- 22:57Speaker 2: four places I think it could be, and one of
- 23:00Speaker 2: the four that I named was Yellowstone National Park. So
- 23:03Speaker 2: I was satisfied that I had that part. Is everybody ready?
- 23:08Speaker 2: It was revealed in a twenty twenty two lawsuit that
- 23:10Speaker 2: this man's treasure was found in Yellowstone National Park. Go
- 23:14Speaker 2: ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says Finn Logan. Forest
- 23:19Speaker 2: Fenn will give you Seth Randall says Forest Fan. Marge
- 23:23Speaker 2: without an answer, Corey forst Fan Maxwell says Captain Jack Sparrow.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Correct answer was Forest Fenn.
- 23:30Speaker 7: Gosh.
- 23:32Speaker 2: The hunt started in twenty ten after Forest Fenn left
- 23:36Speaker 2: a series of clues about his treasure's location in a
- 23:39Speaker 2: twenty four line poem. The stash was found by Jack
- 23:42Speaker 2: Stuff a decade later, in twenty twenty, who spent twenty
- 23:46Speaker 2: five days scouring the area before finding the chest. It
- 23:50Speaker 2: wasn't until two years later that it was revealed that
- 23:52Speaker 2: the treasure was found in Yellowstone, which came out in
- 23:55Speaker 2: court documents via a lawsuit against Fenn. Apparently, after the
- 23:59Speaker 2: treasure was fed, Fenn told a park ranger of its location,
- 24:03Speaker 2: asking if the spot could handle extra foot traffic from tourists.
- 24:06Speaker 2: The park ranger determined that was a bad idea. So
- 24:10Speaker 2: no exact location has been revealed, but there's some agreement
- 24:13Speaker 2: in the treasure hunting community that it was hidden at
- 24:16Speaker 2: nine mile Hole on the Madison River. So you can
- 24:21Speaker 2: find nine mile Hole on Madison River, it's not that
- 24:23Speaker 2: far of a walk, then you will be in the
- 24:27Speaker 2: vicinity of where the Forest Fan treasure was found. And
- 24:29Speaker 2: the founder he said that he used the twenty four
- 24:32Speaker 2: line poem. But then also there were some media interviews
- 24:34Speaker 2: done later by Forrest Fen and it was a clue
- 24:38Speaker 2: that was given in one of those media interviews that
- 24:42Speaker 2: Jack Stuff said he picked up on that no one
- 24:44Speaker 2: else did, which led him to the true Jack stu E.
- 24:49Speaker 2: F Google says, you pronounced it stuff. I would have
- 24:52Speaker 2: guessed it was Stuith, Yeah, but online says stuff. Question five,
- 24:57Speaker 2: The topic is conservation. A rhino poacher won this award
- 25:03Speaker 2: in twenty nineteen, which is given to those who quote
- 25:07Speaker 2: improve the gene pool by eliminating themselves from it in
- 25:10Speaker 2: an obviously stupid way. The word award is in quotation
- 25:17Speaker 2: marks in my question. A rhino poacher won this award
- 25:22Speaker 2: in twenty nineteen, which is given to those who improve
- 25:25Speaker 2: the gene pool by eliminating themselves from it in an
- 25:29Speaker 2: obviously stupid way. Randall the only player with an answer.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Do you have this right?
- 25:37Speaker 1: Randal? I do? I do, big fan.
- 25:42Speaker 2: I've tried hounding Jack's stuff to just do an interview
- 25:45Speaker 2: with us, give me five minutes on the phone. He
- 25:47Speaker 2: won't do it. He's determined to just like be as
- 25:50Speaker 2: anonymous as possible. I even bid on some of the treasure.
- 25:54Speaker 2: What Jack did is he took everything and he pieced
- 25:56Speaker 2: it up into like two hundred different things. The treasure
- 26:00Speaker 2: was value to be worth like two million dollars. He
- 26:02Speaker 2: then sold it through an auction house. I bid on
- 26:05Speaker 2: some of the gold dust that was in the treasure,
- 26:07Speaker 2: but came up well well short.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Of what the sec how much? I don't remember now.
- 26:13Speaker 2: The gold dust. I think I bid up to like
- 26:14Speaker 2: one hundred dollars, and I think I don't think anything
- 26:17Speaker 2: in there went for less than a grand. So did
- 26:19Speaker 2: he get two mill He went way beyond two mils,
- 26:22Speaker 2: and then he kept a couple pieces for himself. He
- 26:26Speaker 2: was fully dedicated, like he retired. He was I think
- 26:28Speaker 2: only in his late twenties. He quit his job to
- 26:30Speaker 2: look look for the treasure and then he found it.
- 26:33Speaker 6: Gosh, I should have done that, but then I wouldn't
- 26:37Speaker 6: be here right now, that's right.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Winning a lake house.
- 26:41Speaker 6: I would have a couple of lake house gun cabinet, cabinet,
- 26:45Speaker 6: a couple of really.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Nice gun cabinet, really nice four cents.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Again, we're on question five. The topic is conservation. A
- 26:52Speaker 2: rhino poacher won this award in twenty nineteen, which is
- 26:56Speaker 2: given to those who quote improve the gene pool by
- 26:59Speaker 2: eminating themselves from it in an obviously stupid way.
- 27:04Speaker 8: I have.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Does everybody give up? Yeah, go ahead and reveal your answers,
- 27:11Speaker 2: says Darwin Award Logan Charles Darwin Randall Darwin Award Marge
- 27:16Speaker 2: without an answer. Corey says the Dundees Max without an answer.
- 27:22Speaker 2: The correct answer is the Darwin Award. So Logan, we'll
- 27:26Speaker 2: give that.
- 27:26Speaker 1: To you, yeah, darwn.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Wendy north Cutt has been handing out Darwin Awards since
- 27:33Speaker 2: nineteen ninety two. The honor is given to those who
- 27:36Speaker 2: show evolution in action by doing something idiotic that results
- 27:40Speaker 2: in death or sterilization. One of the five winners in
- 27:44Speaker 2: twenty nineteen was a rhino poacher who was trampled by
- 27:47Speaker 2: an elephant then eaten by a lion. Twenty eighteen featured
- 27:51Speaker 2: a winner who was killed by a bear he tried
- 27:53Speaker 2: taking a selfie with, and twenty twenty had a winner
- 27:57Speaker 2: who died while looking for forest fans treasure. The wards
- 28:00Speaker 2: are named after Charles Darwin, who's known as the father
- 28:03Speaker 2: of evolution.
- 28:04Speaker 9: Did the previous question inspire this question?
- 28:06Speaker 8: Yes?
- 28:06Speaker 2: How's that?
- 28:08Speaker 1: It's really good? Masterful?
- 28:10Speaker 2: All right, We're halfway through today's game of trivia, Phil.
- 28:16Speaker 9: Everybody is on the board. Max and Maggie, however, only
- 28:20Speaker 9: have one point for themselves. We got Seth and Cory
- 28:29Speaker 9: up next with three points apiece and tied up in
- 28:31Speaker 9: first place. A Randon Williams and hey, it's Logan, Dove.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Do you know what you're high score? In the game is, Logan,
- 28:39Speaker 2: do you have a guess as to what it would be?
- 28:41Speaker 10: I think five is like the most over and that
- 28:43Speaker 10: might have been in like the like the loser's bracket.
- 28:49Speaker 1: That's surprising. I feel like you. I feel like you're
- 28:53Speaker 1: a strong competitor and wide ranging knowledge.
- 28:58Speaker 2: All right, and now it's time for our Mountain Dew
- 29:00Speaker 2: Questions of the Week. Thanks to Mountain Dude, you can
- 29:02Speaker 2: get some bonus trivia in this week's episode. This does
- 29:06Speaker 2: not count towards your score. It's just for bragging. Right here,
- 29:09Speaker 2: they are question one for Mountain Dew's Questions of the Week.
- 29:13Speaker 2: The topic is public lands. Mountain Dew was created in Tennessee,

- 29:57Speaker 2: Mountains National Park Mark Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Corey
- 30:02Speaker 2: and Max say Great Smoky Mountains National Park. They got it.
- 30:06Speaker 2: The correct answer is Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I
- 30:10Speaker 2: didn't have mountains, but I had great born just outside.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Remember this doesn't count park our. Second Mountain Dude question
- 30:18Speaker 2: of the Week. The topic is mountain men. What mountain
- 30:22Speaker 2: man was captured by pirates and the Pawnee before becoming
- 30:27Speaker 2: a trapper? And its multiple choice? Is it Hugh Glass,
- 30:31Speaker 2: Jim Beckworth or Jim Bridger. This is the Mountain dew
- 30:37Speaker 2: mountain Man question of the week. What mountain man was
- 30:40Speaker 2: captured by pirates and the Pawnee before becoming a trapper?
- 30:46Speaker 2: Hugh Glass, Jim Beckworth or Jim Bridger.
- 30:50Speaker 10: You know, I was just kind of assumed like a
- 30:51Speaker 10: lot of this stuff in parks and recreation was just
- 30:53Speaker 10: like made up, like Pawnee Indians are Apparently that's.
- 30:57Speaker 2: A real thing and they captured this person. Is everybody ready.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Most of the rest of that show has made up.
- 31:06Speaker 2: To and reveal your answer? Seth says Beckworth, Hugh Glass, Randall,
- 31:11Speaker 2: Hugh Glass, Marge, Jim Beckworth, Corey and Maxways say Hugh Glass,
- 31:16Speaker 2: they got it. The correct answer is Hugh Glass and
- 31:21Speaker 2: Hugh Glass lived such an interesting life. They described him
- 31:24Speaker 2: as the forest Uh what, the forest gump of mountain Men, right, Randall.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I haven't heard that, but it makes sense, Okay.
- 31:31Speaker 2: He was just all over the continent doing all kinds
- 31:33Speaker 2: of crazy sting.
- 31:33Speaker 5: In the Mountain Man audiobook, we described Jim Bridger as
- 31:38Speaker 5: the forest gump the American West.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Well, maybe I have that, Maybe that's what I'm thinking.
- 31:42Speaker 1: But I think Hugh Glass is maybe a better case.
- 31:45Speaker 2: But Richard didn't spend any time with the pirates.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I know Bridger's later life though, he's just involved.
- 31:50Speaker 5: He's like involved in the Mormon Wars and overland travel
- 31:54Speaker 5: and all that stuff. But yeah, Glass is a real
- 31:58Speaker 5: interesting really Just in case.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Those are the Mountain Dew questions of the week. Enjoy

- 32:12Speaker 3: I like that rhyme.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Question six. The topic is wildlife. This is our listener
- 32:18Speaker 2: question of the Week, which was won by Adam Smith
- 32:21Speaker 2: for sending this great question. Adam is going to get
- 32:23Speaker 2: a one hundred and fifty dollars first like gift card.
- 32:26Speaker 2: If you want a chance to win the listener Question
- 32:28Speaker 2: of the Week, then send your question to Trivia at
- 32:30Speaker 2: the meat eater dot com. This seven letter gland is
- 32:34Speaker 2: defined as quote the specialized organ that produces milk in mammals.
- 32:43Speaker 1: A couple of new and incoming dads knew about.
- 32:45Speaker 2: This one, Okay maybe?
- 32:47Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 32:48Speaker 2: Baby Maxwell, do you have seven letters?
- 32:50Speaker 1: Yeah? Okay?
- 32:51Speaker 2: He was just at a baby appointment recently. That should
- 32:55Speaker 2: help him. Today's question, this seven letter gland is you
- 33:00Speaker 2: find as the specialized organ that produces milk in mammals. Corey,
- 33:05Speaker 2: do you have this one right? I don't think I
- 33:06Speaker 2: spelled it correctly, but you kind of get it?
- 33:08Speaker 1: Okay?
- 33:09Speaker 3: Yeah? Is it that?
- 33:12Speaker 2: It's everybody ready?
- 33:14Speaker 4: Marge?
- 33:17Speaker 2: Are you drawing something for us? Where are you writing
- 33:21Speaker 2: an answer? I can't tell you, but it's a cow.
- 33:28Speaker 3: It's not what you guys think.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Reveal your answers. Seth memory, logan lactate, Randall, memory, Marge memory, uh,
- 33:41Speaker 2: Cory says memory, Maxwell memory. The correct answer is memory
- 33:48Speaker 2: gland A spell M A M M A r y.
- 33:55Speaker 1: There was three different spellings.
- 33:56Speaker 2: I think which one did you land on? Was it correct?
- 34:00Speaker 1: You know?
- 34:01Speaker 2: Mammary glands are what make a mammal a mammal. In
- 34:05Speaker 2: most male mammals, the mammary glands are underdeveloped and unused,
- 34:09Speaker 2: but some species of bat have males that lactate and
- 34:12Speaker 2: produce milk for offspring. The same phenomenon has been occasionally
- 34:16Speaker 2: witnessed in goats. Question seven, the topic is hunting. This
- 34:20Speaker 2: next great question is via Nathan Deson. This man who
- 34:25Speaker 2: died at the Battle of Little Bighorn once accidentally shot
- 34:28Speaker 2: his horse while while hunting bison. This man who died
- 34:36Speaker 2: at the Battle of Little Bighorn once accidentally shot his
- 34:40Speaker 2: horse while hunting bison. Seth Corey Randall.
- 34:46Speaker 1: I can't name them all, but I'm answer.
- 34:48Speaker 5: I'm willing to guess that there were multiple combatants that
- 34:51Speaker 5: day that had done this exact thing.
- 34:53Speaker 2: That you think they shot their horse while hunting bison
- 34:56Speaker 2: and they died at the Battle of Little Big Horn. Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 2: if you could, if you could find me some other example.
- 35:02Speaker 1: It's like getting into a fender bender.
- 35:06Speaker 5: This is common you have experience if you spend your
- 35:10Speaker 5: life as an equestrian bison hunter. I feel like at
- 35:14Speaker 5: some point you're going to accidentally shoot your horse.
- 35:16Speaker 2: And died at the battle.
- 35:18Speaker 6: Yeah, you know how some people use horses to hunt antelope?
- 35:21Speaker 4: Was that what they were doing the same thing.
- 35:24Speaker 2: We'll talk about it in the flavor text.
- 35:26Speaker 1: It's kind of like.
- 35:27Speaker 7: When someone by actually shoots their rifle through the floor
- 35:29Speaker 7: of their car.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, shoot to toe off.
- 35:32Speaker 1: But I would guess that this is more common.
- 35:35Speaker 2: M hmm.
- 35:36Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel like I'd be shooting my
- 35:38Speaker 1: horse all the time.
- 35:41Speaker 2: This man who died at the battle.
- 35:44Speaker 1: How often do you accidentally honk your horn.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Changing horses like he changes his underwear every other Everybody ready, Yeah,
- 35:59Speaker 2: go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says Custer. Bogan
- 36:04Speaker 2: without an answer, Randall says Custer. Marge without an answer.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Corey and Maxwell say General Custer. The correct answer is
- 36:12Speaker 2: George Custer, although you could probably find someone else who
- 36:16Speaker 2: fits this criteria. And I'll give you that point if
- 36:18Speaker 2: you're able to. Custer told the story in his eighteen
- 36:22Speaker 2: eighty seven book My Life on the Planes. He was
- 36:25Speaker 2: riding his favorite favorite horse, Custis Lee, while hunting antelope
- 36:30Speaker 2: with his five greyhounds on the Kansas Prairie. The antelope
- 36:33Speaker 2: were losing him when Custer spotted a big bison. He
- 36:36Speaker 2: then pursued the bull, and after a three mile chase,
- 36:39Speaker 2: Custer readied his revolver, but just as he pulled the trigger,
- 36:42Speaker 2: the buffalo swerved into Custer's horse, sending the bullet right
- 36:46Speaker 2: into custis Lee's head. The horse died instantly and the
- 36:50Speaker 2: bison got away. Here's a picture Phil has of General Custer.
- 36:55Speaker 2: This was three years before his last stand. This was
- 36:59Speaker 2: a bull that he killed by Yellowstone, A whopper of a.
- 37:03Speaker 1: The anniversary is coming up.
- 37:05Speaker 2: That's your anniversary, right, Yeah, good for you, Seth. Now
- 37:09Speaker 2: you'll never get of course. Question eight. The topic is fishing.
- 37:20Speaker 2: This dental term refers to the controversial fishing technique where
- 37:24Speaker 2: anglers try to swing a leader into the mouth of
- 37:27Speaker 2: a salmon that's swimming upstream. Mmm, Maxwell, Randall, Seth already
- 37:36Speaker 2: have their answer. This dental term refers to the controversial
- 37:40Speaker 2: fishing technique where anglers try to swing a leader into
- 37:44Speaker 2: the mouth of a salmon that's swimming upstream. Randall, have
- 37:48Speaker 2: you ever participated in this?
- 37:52Speaker 8: Oh?
- 37:52Speaker 2: Yeah you have?
- 37:54Speaker 1: Okay?
- 37:55Speaker 2: Did you feel okay about it?
- 37:56Speaker 5: I mean, I don't like sake.
- 38:03Speaker 2: You really need to do this the only way.
- 38:07Speaker 1: I was never good at it.
- 38:11Speaker 5: Terrible sake fisherman, much to my dismay, because they're very tasty.
- 38:16Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean guys that are good at this
- 38:19Speaker 5: are just yeah.
- 38:20Speaker 2: When you see people doing it, it's easy to understand,
- 38:23Speaker 2: like how somebody could be good or bad at it.
- 38:26Speaker 2: It's a very specific technique. Will you make that noise again?
- 38:31Speaker 2: This dental term refers to the controversial fishing technique where
- 38:35Speaker 2: anglers try to swing a leader into the mouth of
- 38:38Speaker 2: a salmon that's swimming upstream. Is everybody ready, go ahead
- 38:46Speaker 2: and reveal your answers? Seth and Logan and Randall say flossing.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Marge says flossing, Corey says snagging. Maxwell says very different.
- 38:59Speaker 2: The correct answer is flossing.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Some people consider it snagan.
- 39:02Speaker 2: I mean, that's what Salmon flossing is also known as flipping.
- 39:06Speaker 2: It's where anglers use a weighted leader that's drifted through
- 39:09Speaker 2: the path of saki salmon. When it works, the current
- 39:12Speaker 2: pulls the line through the fish's mouth until the hook
- 39:15Speaker 2: reaches its jaw. Fish caught while flossing aren't biting the hook. Instead,
- 39:20Speaker 2: it's more like snagging them. In the mouth. Flossing is
- 39:23Speaker 2: illegal in Washington, Oregon, California, and Idaho, but Alaska does
- 39:27Speaker 2: allow it.
- 39:28Speaker 6: So I thought they'd put a bead there too, and
- 39:31Speaker 6: the fish like goes for the bead and then I don't.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Think there's any illusion they're not pursuing a bait.
- 39:37Speaker 5: Yeah, they're not really going for it at all. You're
- 39:39Speaker 5: literally trying to just get them in front of the
- 39:41Speaker 5: gill plate.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, like the line is like kind of literally
- 39:45Speaker 2: passing through their mouth, right, yeah, until the hook reaches it.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Yeah, because soak, I really don't.
- 39:49Speaker 5: I mean, it's hard to say because I've had I've
- 39:52Speaker 5: caught saka in like big.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Plugs before that they actually hit.
- 39:57Speaker 5: But for the most part, the conventional wisdom is that
- 40:00Speaker 5: they're not going to bite anything.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Again, Like almost the entire p NW says no, you
- 40:04Speaker 2: cannot do that, but Alaska allows it. I feel like
- 40:07Speaker 2: you see videos we're due to like as close as
- 40:10Speaker 2: Max is to Logan away and they're flossing it in
- 40:13Speaker 2: a river. All right. We have two questions left, Phil
- 40:17Speaker 2: give us a scoreboard update. Have changed.
- 40:23Speaker 9: Marge has three points, Max has four, and we have
- 40:27Speaker 9: Logan and Corey tied up with five logan seems like
- 40:31Speaker 9: as tight as previous high score.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Count those Mountain Dew questions.
- 40:36Speaker 1: We didn't count them.
- 40:37Speaker 9: As has pulled ahead with uh, he's got six points.
- 40:41Speaker 9: And then doctor Randall is in first place with seven sets.
- 40:44Speaker 5: Going for a back to back win after a poorly
- 40:48Speaker 5: officiated game of trivia last week.
- 40:50Speaker 1: That was a great game. Well, there's some boubts.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Question nine, the topic is gear this next great question
- 40:58Speaker 2: is this sleep. Jim Crumley sold the tree Bark camel
- 41:04Speaker 2: pattern to this brand in two thousand. Jim Crumbley sold
- 41:12Speaker 2: the tree Bark cameo pattern to this brand in two thousand.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Max is making eyes at Seth. Do you two like
- 41:26Speaker 2: your answers?
- 41:27Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 41:29Speaker 9: Let's see her, sir, I'll show you what he says.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Flipp the Randall. Do you have this one right?
- 41:36Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Seth seems to like his Seth, I have this one right.
- 41:41Speaker 1: I'm in I think, I'm I think fifty fifty.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Okay, this could even things up. Seth gets it right
- 41:47Speaker 2: and Randall gets it wrong.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I'm in the neighborhood. Jeez.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Jim Crumbley sold the tree Bark camel pattern to this
- 41:53Speaker 2: brand in two thousand one.
- 41:57Speaker 5: Oh, Jim Crumley, I thought you said, Jim h it's
- 42:03Speaker 5: all very valuable contact.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Which is yeah? Which is who? Jim Crumley seems like
- 42:08Speaker 2: a man who would invent the tree bar camel pattern.
- 42:11Speaker 1: That's a great name. Crumley and.
- 42:18Speaker 5: Crumbley cashed out and retired after this.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Is everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth
- 42:29Speaker 2: says real Tree, Logan Deep Timber Grands, Marge loss O,
- 42:36Speaker 2: Cordy Maxwell, Real Tree. The correct answer.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Bottom land has been around for longer?
- 42:43Speaker 2: Is mass we had three of our.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Around for longer than that.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Or it's Hoss out Doors. Hoss out doors owns real tree.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Excuse mess out doorns owns bought the tree bark camel.
- 43:02Speaker 3: Are they talking about bottom Land there?
- 43:03Speaker 2: No, they're different. But if you look at Phil is
- 43:07Speaker 2: gonna pull up a picture here of tree bark, it
- 43:08Speaker 2: looks exactly like bottom Lands. This came out first. Jim
- 43:13Speaker 2: Crumley invented the famous tree bark camel pattern in nineteen
- 43:17Speaker 2: seventy nine. He felt that nothing on the market was
- 43:19Speaker 2: brown enough or gray enough to blend in with the
- 43:22Speaker 2: forest in fall, so he created tree Bark, which became
- 43:26Speaker 2: the first commercially produced hunting camo. When the pattern showed
- 43:29Speaker 2: up in a nineteen eighty three Kabelis catalog, Crumley was
- 43:32Speaker 2: no longer able to keep up with demand. It became
- 43:35Speaker 2: one of the most popular cameos of the eighties and nineties,
- 43:38Speaker 2: with MACIOC acquiring it in two thousand. So it looks
- 43:41Speaker 2: very much like bottom Lands. Bottom Lands came out second.
- 43:45Speaker 2: So that is the tree bark green.
- 43:48Speaker 1: I believe this is the real tree pattern is.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Oh okay, that's that is not tree bark. This is
- 43:54Speaker 2: the og tree bark. There was also a tree Bark Green.
- 43:56Speaker 2: I think that had some leaves in it that looked a.
- 43:58Speaker 3: Lot like can you go back to the question for
- 44:00Speaker 3: a second.
- 44:02Speaker 2: What's the matter?
- 44:04Speaker 3: Okay? I just classic me. I just read the question wrong.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, here's a correct answer. Review so far.
- 44:11Speaker 2: One was a sixty seven point five Gage Shotgun two,
- 44:15Speaker 2: Crappy Minnows three, Black Mamba four, Forest Fan five, Darwin
- 44:21Speaker 2: Awards six, Mammary Gland seven, George Custer eight, Flossing nine
- 44:27Speaker 2: Massioake Phil scoreboard update.
- 44:31Speaker 9: Randall has locked it in. He's got eight points with
- 44:34Speaker 9: only one question left. The next person people behind him
- 44:38Speaker 9: are Seth and Corey.
- 44:39Speaker 1: They have six.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Logan still at five going for his PB.
- 44:43Speaker 10: You know we got I don't know if there's a
- 44:45Speaker 10: way to look that up, but I might have gotten
- 44:47Speaker 10: more than five.
- 44:48Speaker 5: I think you have, man, I had a lot to
- 44:50Speaker 5: be six. I feel like you're more of a dark
- 44:52Speaker 5: horse than you think.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Thanks Randal. Question ten. The topic is cooking. Fatty fish
- 44:57Speaker 2: such as salmon are high in this nine letter hormone
- 45:01Speaker 2: that's nicknamed the quote hormone of darkness because it helps
- 45:05Speaker 2: your body get ready for sleep. Oh, Fatty fish such
- 45:11Speaker 2: as salmon are high in this nine letter hormone that's
- 45:16Speaker 2: nicknamed the hormone of darkness because it helps your body
- 45:20Speaker 2: get ready for sleep. Randall, do you have this one right?
- 45:29Speaker 1: I think so? Okay, I think so.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Rest of the room is doing some Hangman on their whiteboards. Seth,
- 45:37Speaker 2: do you have this one right?
- 45:38Speaker 1: I think so Oka, but also I might not. I
- 45:42Speaker 1: don't know. It's a good question. I'm just trying to
- 45:48Speaker 1: be Corey at this point.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Corey, do you have this one right? Fatty fish such
- 45:55Speaker 2: as salmon are high in this nine letter hormone that's
- 45:58Speaker 2: nicknamed the hormone of darkness because it helps your body
- 46:02Speaker 2: get ready for sleep.
- 46:05Speaker 5: Hormone darkness sounds way tougher than what I'm thinking.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Hormone of darkness.
- 46:11Speaker 2: That one sounds more figurative than literal, but in this
- 46:16Speaker 2: case it's literal.
- 46:18Speaker 4: I've had like three different answers on my board, exciting to.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Hear what they max, I am, I don't know a
- 46:26Speaker 2: serious hot one.
- 46:27Speaker 5: Put my nine letters on the whiteboard or forever something.
- 46:31Speaker 2: Logan, do you have this one right?
- 46:33Speaker 1: I think so?
- 46:34Speaker 2: Okay, logan, PB, March do you have this one right?
- 46:39Speaker 1: Guess?
- 46:39Speaker 2: Would you doodle for us?
- 46:40Speaker 1: Down there?
- 46:42Speaker 2: All right? Everybody ready?
- 46:44Speaker 1: Sure?
- 46:45Speaker 2: Go ahead, and your answers seth melatonin, melotonin, Randal, melatonin, Marge, melatonin, Corey,
- 46:53Speaker 2: trip to fan, Maxwell, magnesia. The correct answer is melatonin shoot.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Yes.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Melotonin is stimulated by darkness and suppressed by light. Its
- 47:06Speaker 2: levels begin to rise in the evening, peak overnight and
- 47:10Speaker 2: fall in the morning. Melatonin doesn't force you to sleep,
- 47:13Speaker 2: but it does tell your body that it's time to rest.
- 47:16Speaker 2: Besides salmon, other foods high and melatonin are pistachios, walnuts, cherries, bananas, milk,
- 47:22Speaker 2: eggs and sardines. So Maxwell, you shouldn't be having your sardine,
- 47:30Speaker 2: egg and milk lunch anymore.
- 47:32Speaker 6: No, otherwise, that's what medium.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Or your magnesium mountain That eggs are breakfast.
- 47:41Speaker 2: Big egg, Yeah, big egg like Randall down.
- 47:44Speaker 1: There, Yeah, big egg. Yeah, it's true.

- 47:49Speaker 8: we won.
- 47:50Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true.
- 47:51Speaker 3: And the mountain dew questions we wouldn't want.
- 47:55Speaker 8: I did beat my office.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Okay to today's winner is Randall. He got nine correct answers.
- 48:04Speaker 3: I don't come to win.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Some people tried to give me a tenth point.
- 48:07Speaker 2: He tried to give you the perfect game. You wouldn't
- 48:09Speaker 2: take the crappy chub man.
- 48:11Speaker 5: In hindsight, I wish I'd taken that, not to give
- 48:14Speaker 5: extra money to conservation, but just for bookkeeping purposes, for
- 48:19Speaker 5: your eager just to keep track.
- 48:20Speaker 3: Of mine, calling you that crappy chub.
- 48:23Speaker 2: All right, crappy chub, what are you gonna do with that?
- 48:26Speaker 5: Let's give the five hundred dollars to the Western Habitat Foundation.
- 48:30Speaker 2: Oh, I think that's a new one on the show.
- 48:32Speaker 2: What do we like about that?
- 48:32Speaker 1: I've given money to them before they their Mission. They
- 48:37Speaker 1: every year they do.
- 48:40Speaker 5: Projects on public lands to improve habitat a bunch of these.
- 48:44Speaker 5: In recent they've done stuff in North Dakota and New Mexico,
- 48:47Speaker 5: but in recent years been going out to Fort Peck
- 48:50Speaker 5: and pulling fence from the CMR, just old abandoned fence
- 48:53Speaker 5: that impedes wildlife movement. So I was out there this
- 48:57Speaker 5: past weekend and got in some quality time out in
- 49:02Speaker 5: some beautiful country, and uh, it's just very classic boots
- 49:06Speaker 5: on the ground conservation work.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Well done. Randall five hundred dollars than guys Croppy thousand Croppie.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Next week.
- 49:20Speaker 9: On the game show, Yes Spencer from South Dakota.
- 49:25Speaker 1: He's the host, using those smooth mellow tones.
- 49:29Speaker 6: He lays them questions down.
- 49:37Speaker 1: He likes taking those two and three year old bucks.
- 49:41Speaker 1: It's an avid amateur lockw
