- 1:03Hello everybody. He spit.
- 1:04Welcome back to our episode the WASD and Beyond Podcast.
- 1:07I'm your host, Nick. Accompanying me is Evan and
- 1:10Logan, surprise guest. Not really a surprise.
- 1:15You hop on. It's been a minutes since you've
- 1:17been on, but you Logan just took like a huge dab, I think, and
- 1:20he's dying. I saw Drew up all out of his
- 1:23mouth. But you're right, buddy.
- 1:27Oh, yeah. Alright, there we are.
- 1:30There we are. Fucking Evans got bourbon,
- 1:32Logan's got some weed and I have look.
- 1:35No, I don't have. I don't have bourbon.
- 1:37I wish I did. I got rum.
- 1:38What do you got? I got rum.
- 1:41Did you? Oh, did that come through?
- 1:43No, no, I didn't hear you may. It probably did for the
- 1:46listeners. What?
- 1:47What rum are you drinking? Why are you drinking rum?
- 1:49Because I was playing Sea of Thieves earlier and I was in the
- 1:52mood. I fucking hate you.
- 1:53Let's get into the spot played. That shit for like literally 8
- 1:56minutes, bro. I'm not gonna Logan's right, I
- 1:59just. Say all in that direction.
- 2:01And then I decided to stop. Responded much more than.
- 2:04That tried to convince all of us to play.
- 2:06Yeah, no one fucking no one took the bait and she just drove.
- 2:11He just drove into a storm and goes.
- 2:13I wonder what will happen to go, oh, probably the same thing and
- 2:15see if they've nothing. Guess what?
- 2:17Nothing happened. The bait was not taken.
- 2:20So I said, OK, that's fine. And then I stopped playing.
- 2:24Oh my God. We proceeded, Logan and Noah and
- 2:27I proceeded to play Chivalry, get really mad at that, and then
- 2:30stop playing that as well. Sounds about right.
- 2:34Yeah. Anyway, before we go any
- 2:36further, let's get into the sponsors of the show and the
- 2:39Spawn Camp community. This show and this episode is
- 2:42sponsored by Final Boss and Doc Longey.
- 2:45I believe Final Boss has some leftovers going up and Doc has
- 2:49some drops coming. I think the time of this
- 2:52recording, if not a little bit later in the week.
- 2:54Keep your eyes on that. Head over to

- 3:25Logan and myself have been building 40K on top of all the
- 3:28gun plug that him and I and a bunch of other people build.
- 3:30I am working on a death watch army and Logan, you are working
- 3:34on a what? World Eaters Army World Eaters
- 3:37army. So Logan is literally the bane
- 3:39of everyone's existence while I am just a bunch of asshole
- 3:42marines. Yes, yes, just like both of us.
- 3:46I'm an asshole and you're the bane of everyone's existence.

- 3:55us. Hop into a D&D session, build
- 3:57some models with us, play some video games, watch some movies.
- 4:00Have a great time. Now we're going to This is
- 4:06surprise episode. I didn't tell Evan or and Evan
- 4:09dragged Logan into this episode. Surprisingly to me, I just we
- 4:13were about to record and I see Logan pop and I'm like, OK, here
- 4:16we go. But Evan has no idea what the
- 4:18episode's about. Now it is low.
- 4:20Yep, no clue. I want to lead into it like
- 4:23this, and I know Logan's be like we've heard about this all week
- 4:26from Evan. Oh, great, but.
- 4:30Oh great. Can you tell everybody what you
- 4:33thought about Oppenheimer and Barbie really quick?
- 4:37Cuz I'm gonna go see it I. I hope time out before before
- 4:41you get into it. Short, sweet, concise because we
- 4:47are reviewing these movies. Don't you like that, listeners
- 4:51that he's gotta, he's gotta manage my level of.
- 4:55Oh, you can't follow him. You can't follow him.
- 4:57Come. On I can't follow him cuz I
- 4:58would I could talk about it for for.
- 4:59Get into it, big dog. Come on.
- 5:02He asked for Oppenheimer and Barbie.
- 5:06Barbie was really good, I will say off of Thursday night,
- 5:10viewing packed audience, which was really sweet, a lot of pink.
- 5:14Everybody was wearing pink, both in the like lobby area as well
- 5:18as behind the counter, which is a really cool thing to see.
- 5:21So like just that was already kind of getting everybody a bit
- 5:24more excited. You know, it's like an event
- 5:25almost. You don't know anybody there
- 5:27other than who you've gone with maybe.
- 5:29So that was really cool. The movie was great.
- 5:32It's a little less than two hours long.
- 5:35Obviously going to shout out Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling
- 5:39and America Ferrera especially for acting stuff.
- 5:43They did all. They all did great, especially
- 5:45America as well as Margot. Ryan Gosling was really good for
- 5:50everything he did as well, but like just Margot and America had
- 5:55pretty decent monologues as well that were pretty sweet.
- 5:58It was really funny and it poked a lot of fun at like pop culture
- 6:02and just yeah, like it was very self aware and but also not, not
- 6:08preachy if that makes sense. Like it wasn't preaching to the
- 6:11choir. It wasn't a whole diatribe of a
- 6:14whole bunch of stuff that kind of just made you go, all right,
- 6:16we get it right, But it was like, it was fun.
- 6:19It was light, it was happy, it was funny, and it was it was
- 6:22emotional in ways that you didn't expect, which is really
- 6:27good. Oppenheimer is an intense 3
- 6:30hour. You could call it an action
- 6:32movie, a drama or a thriller in in multiple different ways like
- 6:35it. It just I said this to Nick and
- 6:38I said this to a lot of other people in the discord, the spawn
- 6:40camp discord that you should join that there's music playing
- 6:45throughout most of the movie. So nothing, nothing feels like
- 6:51there's this. Like there are moments where
- 6:53there's no music to emphasize drama and certain dialogue.
- 6:57But even where there's conversations that are really
- 6:59important, there's music playing almost to heighten the sense of
- 7:02urgency and realizing that this is a race, This isn't something
- 7:06we're like. Nobody else is trying to get to
- 7:08this bomb first, right? They they understand that this
- 7:11is important and that their work every day matters.
- 7:15So it was really good. I will say the bomb itself is
- 7:19really impressive. Unlike some people in the
- 7:22discord who didn't think it was that impressive Noah, this is my
- 7:25second time calling you out our graphic designer.
- 7:28And but it's what's check him out, It's with love.
- 7:30It's with love. I'm not.
- 7:31I'm not shitting on him. Absolutely not.
- 7:33But he did not find it as exciting as I did.
- 7:35I really liked the explosion. I thought they did again.
- 7:36You know who else didn't find it?
- 7:38Like they liked it, but they were like, it was cool.
- 7:41Scott Miller. Yeah, I saw, Scott said eight
- 7:44out of 10 I think on on one of the tweets you made.
- 7:47Yeah, I loved the explosion. I thought it was really good.
- 7:50But I I get it. My dad said the same thing where
- 7:52he he had hoped for like an overhead shot, so kind of a
- 7:55spill that that's not really there.
- 7:57But I get why I don't think it's as important.
- 8:00The best thing that you could really show for an explosion
- 8:02like that in the desert is that they did say that because of the
- 8:07immense heat when they blew up Trinity.
- 8:10That it turned the sand into glass, which I think would have
- 8:12been kind of cool to show, but I don't know how you would have
- 8:14done fucking metal, dude. But aside from the explosion and
- 8:19just the overall story, I'm shouting out Emily Blunt.
- 8:16That was pretty. She did great, especially during
- 8:26a certain couple of scenes. She was fantastic.
- 8:29Obviously Killian playing Oppenheimer.
- 8:31Nick and I obviously love him from Peaky Blinders, so to see
- 8:35him take on a leading man role for a movie like this is really
- 8:38cool. And a secret sleeper hit was
- 8:40Robert Downey Junior. Absolutely fantastic.
- 8:43Every single scene he's in, you are watching him.
- 8:45Like even if there's Killian or other people in the movie,
- 8:50you're honestly paying attention to our DJ.
- 8:52He's just so good. He did.
- 8:53Everything he does is great. The cast itself is stacked.
- 8:56You can tell everybody brought their A game.
- 8:59I'd say honestly, if I had to give a shorthand review just off
- 9:02of those. Barbie gets a a 10 out of 10 and
- 9:05Oppenheimer gets like a 20 out of 10.
- 9:07Like Oppenheimer is going to be one of those movies where it is.
- 9:11It is just talked about because it's just so good.
- 9:13It's Christopher Nolan's first biopic.
- 9:16So for him to portray, did he see him portray a a real person
- 9:21since most of his movies are fictional or just they're off of
- 9:23previous media To see him portray a real human and that
- 9:27story is really interesting. It's very Nolanesque.
- 9:31You know, it's very almost. Some people criticize Nolan for
- 9:34being very mathematical or cold, but I feel like you got to
- 9:37search a little bit for the deeper meaning of what he's
- 9:40trying to say. I will say that Oppenheimer has
- 9:42probably one of the best endings to a movie I've seen this year
- 9:46or last. It is incredibly selfaware, in
- 9:50some senses incredibly good at like, almost like a warning.
- 9:58Also Albert Einstein, the secret MCU, like Marvel Cinematic
- 10:01Universe cameo. Love seeing, love seeing him
- 10:05show up. But no, even the actor who plays
- 10:09Albert Einstein, Tom Conti, is fantastic.
- 10:11It's cool to see all these people that you hear of in
- 10:14science, right? You hear of Oppenheimer, you
- 10:17hear of Einstein, you hear of Heisenberg, as well as like
- 10:20Fermi and a lot of other scientists, really famous people
- 10:23for things that are referenced nowadays.
- 10:26Really cool to kind of see that, like almost in a really, I I
- 10:29guess, cringy way, like seeing the SCU, the science cinematic
- 10:34universe, really. You have all these really famous
- 10:37people in one movie. So that was really good.
- 10:40But yeah, like I said, there are a lot of great performances in
- 10:43the movie itself is just fantastic and very, very cool.
- 10:47And to see that there's no CGI involved is a welcome addition
- 10:51to things like, you know. Secret Invasion or Doctor
- 10:54Strange or any Marvel or DC product recently that is not
- 10:59very good with their CGI. So to see a movie that has
- 11:03nothing and everything is shot, you know, in camera and just
- 11:07with certain tricks is always really nice.
- 11:09I think that'll impress people once they see the movie itself.
- 11:12Saying that there's no CGI. But yeah, I I give them both 10s
- 11:17if I had to give them on just the scale, but if I really could
- 11:19go above and beyond, honestly. Harvey and Oppenheimer both get
- 11:22extremely great ratings for me. I love them.
- 11:25But yeah, sorry, we've taken up too much of your time with
- 11:27those. This isn't even the topic.
- 11:30Get to the secret. Yeah, it's part of the topic.
- 11:34Well, I bring that up and I wanted your opinion because SAG,
- 11:38AFTRA and the WGA are going on strike.
- 11:40They are on strike right now and they are really fucking trying
- 11:45to stick it to the CEO's, the studios and all that.
- 11:50Yeah, and there was one piece of discussion about the strike that
- 11:55really struck A chord with me. It all struck A chord with me.
- 11:58But something I've really started to think about.
- 12:02Will this translate to video games?
- 12:04Right. And more importantly, the A I
- 12:07aspect of OK instead of writers, instead of actors, instead of
- 12:13people see actually using their talents for CGI, using their
- 12:16talents for special effects, Could we replace these humans
- 12:20who do this with AI? So I was thinking, could this
- 12:25happen in video games? And do people want this in video
- 12:29games? Cuz we see examples of AI
- 12:31already being used? We have AI upscaling amongst
- 12:34other things, right? DLSS Yeah, and that's non
- 12:37invasive in my opinion. But the problem I'm starting to
- 12:41think right now is if Hollywood is looking at these writers and
- 12:46all of these people involved in making film as basically
- 12:51nothing, and we can replace you with robots, what's to say that
- 12:54can happen in video games? More importantly, what's to say
- 12:56that they will start using AI to make video games and?
- 12:59One of the things that I just thought of when you brought this
- 13:02topic up was not even their writing, but all the people who
- 13:05get hired for coding and all of that.
- 13:08You can have AI write all that coding and just tell.
- 13:10It will tell them what you want. Remove that completely, which is
- 13:14a essential part of video game making the core you could even
- 13:17say. Did you have something else to
- 13:21say? Nick, I thought you were gonna
- 13:22continue. I have my own thoughts on just
- 13:24the initial response to this, but I don't want to interrupt if
- 13:28you had something to say. So my thought I guess would be
- 13:32that it is dangerous territory because without the human touch
- 13:36in a in a video game, in a movie, in music and any piece of
- 13:40art, you lose the connection, right?
- 13:43And I, as a gaming podcast and as I mean we we game every day.
- 13:48We game every night. My wife hates it, but she she
- 13:52loves that I love it. But this is a huge part of my
- 13:56life and I would hate to see not only for myself and my own
- 13:59selfish reasons, right? Like, I want my games to be
- 14:02organic. I don't need a robot or a I
- 14:05making my video games. And the bigger thing is I don't
- 14:09want to see the people who are so talented.
- 14:11Neil Druckman is somebody that just right off the top of my
- 14:16head, right, like The Last of Us.
- 14:18I would hate to see a Last of Us created by a I, even if it's the
- 14:22greatest fucking version of The Last of Us you ever got.
- 14:26There's just to know that it was, yeah, to know that it was
- 14:29not written by someone. I think that's a big point of
- 14:32what you're making is, is that right?
- 14:36I think that AI should be used to enhance.
- 14:39The experience that humans have already created, you know, So
- 14:42great example is right. Human goes through and codes
- 14:45this game. They go and design it both with
- 14:47art, sound, visuals, everything. And then you go to bug fixes and
- 14:51you have the AI do the bug fixing.
- 14:53I think that would be even a decent but you also but you also
- 14:59if it's used by QA. If it's used like Q A, it
- 15:03shouldn't be like the QA is. Cut out, yeah, if no one.
- 15:06Because like that's that's my biggest portion of this as well
- 15:09as I would hate to see the people who've spent their life
- 15:12in the industry get taken complete control over and lose
- 15:17their jobs because of technology.
- 15:19And I want to see technology further but again losing that
- 15:23human touch. I would rather, I would rather
- 15:27deal with the games that the in the state they are in today with
- 15:30human touch, knowing that hey, there were passionate people on
- 15:33this project that fucked up rather than an AI making a
- 15:37perfect game every fucking time. Like, I'd rather deal with
- 15:41cyberpunk all over again than have an AI make me a cyberpunk
- 15:45game. That is just not what it is
- 15:49like, yes, cuz I think you lose the human element of a lot of
- 15:53things, right? So that's a kind of a good way
- 15:56of bringing it up in a sense of. I want humans to create the
- 16:03creative, right? I want them to create the
- 16:07dialogue, the pacing, the narrative, the.
- 16:12I mean shit, some of the more triple-A budget games like Red
- 16:17Dead Redemption and Last of Us Part 2 and and other big titles
- 16:21like that. They're not recording this where
- 16:23people are in a VO booth and then they just kind of implement
- 16:25it into the scene. They have people mocapping, so.
- 16:29And I think, I think that's important because in a way you
- 16:31do have normal filmmaking techniques, right?
- 16:35You're blocking, you're you're deciding what you know things
- 16:38are going to be in the scene and how it's going to be set up
- 16:41visually, how it's going to look.
- 16:42And I don't think that AI can do that well.
- 16:45And and to anybody who says, well, you know, I've seen edits
- 16:47of this that AI has done. Yeah, I've also seen those edits
- 16:50too, where they said, you know, this is created by a I and yet
- 16:53all the people have it frequently, long fingers and six
- 16:56fingers on each hand. So at the end of the day, it
- 16:59still can't get the shit right in the 1st place because it's
- 17:02not taking into account what you've put in.
- 17:05If Nick says I want to build this scene, it's a dirty dive
- 17:09bar. There's two guys in it.
- 17:10They look like bikers. They got leather jackets on.
- 17:12They got, you know, tattoos. They got ponytails.
- 17:15And they get into a bar fight and he's visualizing all of it
- 17:18in his head. You might just hang out the
- 17:20YMCA. I'm just, yeah, you might be
- 17:22depends on which one. But then you have AI go and do
- 17:26that. And it does it in a completely
- 17:28different way because it has to pull, you said leather jackets.
- 17:32So what does AI do? It pulls the image of leather
- 17:34jackets from thousands of Google images and then compiles it into
- 17:38one. And there's no guarantee that
- 17:40it's going to look good or bad. And it's probably not going to
- 17:43look necessarily terrible. And it's also not going to look
- 17:45like the most perfect little jacket.
- 17:48It's going to look weird because you're going to, it's taking
- 17:51thousands of images of that other jacket and some people
- 17:53have leather jackets in this color or that color or who
- 17:55knows? And then it.
- 17:57Well, it probably pulls so many of the stock photos to where
- 17:59it's just white background, right?
- 18:01Photoshop lighting like it's going to like like.
- 18:04Nick said. It's going to look stair.
- 18:05It's going to look unnatural. It's going to look like it was.
- 18:07It's going to look like it was taken from, it's going to look
- 18:10like it was taken from a photo and you're like, why does that
- 18:12look off? It's going to look way too
- 18:13everything. Is going to look CGI Cg'd on
- 18:16when it shouldn't. Be you know, it's like it's
- 18:18taking that idea of that bar fight and let's assume this bar
- 18:21fight gets pretty wild and there's whiskey and beer being
- 18:24thrown around, right? It's not going to understand.
- 18:27How to add those sort of textures to the jackets and to
- 18:30the people, right where they've got whiskey on their jackets and
- 18:32you see it dripping down or something like that, right?
- 18:34It's only going to take the images it understands as being
- 18:38leather jackets or being ponytails or being tattoos, and
- 18:41it's going to add it to that scene.
- 18:43So it's not going to look the same.
- 18:45I think that if you were to have humans make that scene and then
- 18:48you had a, I take care of the bugs of, say, the ponytail going
- 18:52through the leather jacket, right?
- 18:54Clipping through it. Yeah, fixing, now you're
- 18:56clipping. It should be a symbiotic
- 19:00relationship almost where the human is creating it and the AI
- 19:02is just touching it up to where it looks good and you see.
- 19:06And So what you said right there is perfect because like in every
- 19:08video, I don't care what game you're playing, it's every game
- 19:11you play. If you are too close to a
- 19:13fucking edge of a wall, your shoulder is going through the
- 19:16wall. There's been a few in.
- 19:18Max Payne 3 is a great example of.
- 19:20Max Red Dead 2 has if If you grow your hair too long and
- 19:22you're wearing certain jackets your hair clips through the
- 19:24jackets clips through AI as a tool could fix that could fix
- 19:29that and but that's as far a tool.
- 19:32We as a tool, fine, but like to create.
- 19:38That's the last thing I'd ever want to see.
- 19:40I want to see use as a tool like perfect Logan was Logan said it.
- 19:43And now you've said you both have said it.
- 19:44Pretty much a tool, right. So like you know the clipping
- 19:47issue. Hey, is this accurate, right.
- 19:51Like, does this gun actually have this and that you?
- 19:54Know it's one that I would really like to see.
- 19:56I think a ought to be a great tool for dialogue, and making
- 20:00dialogue in video games feel natural.
- 20:03A lot of the times we sit there, a lot of the times we sit there
- 20:07with text boxes and we click yes, no.
- 20:09And there's a preloaded. But could you imagine if you had
- 20:12the ability to use your mic and like, let's say GTA, and you're
- 20:15walking down the street and you give someone the bird and
- 20:18through your mic you say, you know, fuck off.
- 20:20And that person actually gives like a verbal response back.
- 20:23That's unique, where you go into the gas station and you say put
- 20:26your hands up and the AI is registering that.
- 20:29And you know what I mean? Like there's so many things you
- 20:31can do where you can make that seem very real realistic, which
- 20:34I think it's a, again, a tool where they're using a dialogue
- 20:38system that they've refined. So obviously they're not saying
- 20:41obscenities and they're not screaming like raising.
- 20:45Unless it's something that's added into it on purpose, right?
- 20:47You know what I mean though. But like, the one thing that
- 20:49I've always wanted to have is in games, when you're given a
- 20:53character creation and you get to choose a name, but you never
- 20:57hear anyone vocally say your name, they're saying every
- 20:59other. I've always wanted that as well.
- 21:02I think AI would be able to do that because the AI would be
- 21:05able to read that name and could make a speech to say that.
- 21:09And so you could go up to a character and instead of them
- 21:11just being like, you know, text box.
- 21:14Hi Logan, thanks for like doing this quest.
- 21:17You could hear that verbally and be like, Oh my God, they're
- 21:19actually like, talking to me. That's cool as hell.
- 21:22That's fair. I have in all the F1 games I've
- 21:25played, which has really pissed me off, is that you can choose
- 21:27for like your career. You can choose a driver name
- 21:30that they call you by, and some of them are kind of cool, like
- 21:33Maverick, Iceman, Trinity or a couple.
- 21:35Yeah, but you imagine if they said, hey Evan, I need you to
- 21:38you know. Here's the here's the thing that
- 21:39pissed me off. They've had for the past five
- 21:41years that I've played these games.
- 21:43They've had my name, but it's Evans with an S.
- 21:47Cut off that ass, bro. I'm happy as I'm happy as shit.
- 21:50Like, yeah, like that's cool. But I I I at first when Logan
- 21:54was talking and he started his. I was.
- 21:56I was on the same page as you I think.
- 21:58Yeah, because as soon as he said what about dialogue?
- 22:00And I was like. Humans create dialogue and then
- 22:03you immediately explained like no touching things up and making
- 22:06like, so I it's it's. Your name while you're walking
- 22:09the city. That's, yeah, that's much
- 22:12better, right? At first I was worried for the
- 22:14harder place at. First I was worried like you
- 22:16meant script and I was like no no no no.
- 22:18Like, I need people to do that. Just just stuff to make, just
- 22:22stuff to fill in to make that city or that zone feel more
- 22:25likely and real. Yeah, because I because they
- 22:28don't have the time to record 10,000 lines from.
- 22:32NPC people, yeah, other shit going on, like focusing on the
- 22:35main and side characters and that's fine, but like give the
- 22:38throwaway characters that you're gonna probably end up shooting
- 22:40anyway, like just funny dialogue or generated dog that feels
- 22:44natural. So I think what you could do
- 22:46there is because at the Npc's that you do see in like GTA Red
- 22:50Dead or any like. Large scale, Yeah.
- 22:52City like my thing that I thought of, Yeah, because
- 22:55there's so many interactions you have.
- 22:56Like a big sandbox, you do have people recording lines for each.
- 23:01Not each, but for Npc's what you could do in that sense is you
- 23:06would be able to put that in almost like an API I think like
- 23:10this person recorded these lines, but now that it takes
- 23:14their voice to say other things and.
- 23:16You can, because you'll have every syllable.
- 23:19You'll have every syllable of what they've said.
- 23:22Yeah, you then they it can it without distorting it.
- 23:25It can take in string in an instant.
- 23:28That is fine. At first I was with Evan because
- 23:30I was like, well you're taking jobs at that point.
- 23:33No, it's just a touch up And to your point Nick, Like you could
- 23:36do that since where like those main characters, you take all
- 23:39their dialogue but you just touch it up where they are able
- 23:41now to say your name. So like all their voice lines
- 23:44sound the same, but like they change just that quick AI input
- 23:47just so it recognizes the username that they chose for
- 23:49that more real lived in feeling. And like what you said both of
- 23:53you were talking about is how the interesting thing with that
- 23:57is you can have it where they say so like they've already
- 24:01started doing that with a lot of different voice actors for
- 24:03different games, right? So I think of when you guys were
- 24:05talking about that kind of I thought of Spiderman.
- 24:08Because in Spiderman, in the PlayStation versus Spiderman,
- 24:10they didn't record him just saying the normal lines.
- 24:13They had him say if he was walking or if he was casually
- 24:17swinging versus if he was power swinging and he was like moving
- 24:20really fast where he sounded out of breath.
- 24:22So we can grab your physicality at that.
- 24:24Point as well, they do the same thing and since I've been
- 24:27playing Red Dead 2 again recently in the story mode, they
- 24:29do that where if if I'm. If Logan and I are, let's say,
- 24:33the characters, and we're, you know, trotting together on our
- 24:35horses, we talk casually, right? We're not really raising our
- 24:37voices. But if Logan rides ahead and I'm
- 24:41still continuing dialogue, I start shouting all of a sudden
- 24:43because they recorded the actors saying it in different volumes
- 24:48and different demeanors, right where they're trying to follow
- 24:52along. So they're kind of like panting
- 24:53a bit. Spiderman's the same way.
- 24:55So you've already kind of started with that.
- 24:57And so all you have to do is take the A I and kind of.
- 25:00Compile these different these vowels and the way they're
- 25:03saying, yeah, I think words. Nick's ideas?
- 25:06Like, I like that idea, what I give the voice actors their
- 25:10jobs, but just evolve them a little bit after they're done.
- 25:14And and to kind of coincide with Nick's original bringing up the
- 25:17topic of with SAG AFTRA, they're not saying that a I can't be
- 25:21used at all. They're saying we need to define
- 25:23what it's going to be used as, how much influence it's going to
- 25:28have. If you want to use a I, and you
- 25:30want to use it to improve certain things, let's talk about
- 25:33what things you want it to improve and how it improves it
- 25:36and what cases it's used in. But for instance, if I were a
- 25:40voice actor or if I was an actual actor.
- 25:43And I was recording things in a studio or somebody invited me in
- 25:46and they're like, hey, we're gonna 3D scan you and it will be
- 25:48used for whenever. We wanna use it for this thing
- 25:51and that. Your voice as well.
- 25:53I'm gonna go no, because it's my voice, it's my body.
- 25:57It's like a Dave. Chappelski in Perpetuity of the
- 26:00Universe, you know. What I don't.
- 26:02I don't want you to use my body and my voice for a project
- 26:05you're working on that I have had no affiliation with.
- 26:07Because, you know, what happens is that people see my voice and
- 26:10my face in it and they go, Oh well, Can you believe he shot
- 26:13scenes for this terrible movie? And it's like it wasn't me.
- 26:16And it was in the sound of freedom.
- 26:18I would act no, no way. Somewhere, Jeff just went.
- 26:26Absolutely not. I would never want to be
- 26:28involved with something like that.
- 26:29It's a terrible, terrible film. But like, I just don't.
- 26:34I just, yeah, yeah, you got him. But like, that's where I feel is
- 26:38like you have. Why do we like art?
- 26:43Because people made it. Because somebody, yeah.
- 26:47And it's subjective. Somebody created, somebody
- 26:51painted Mona Lisa, a person painted that.
- 26:54A person painted that portrait. A person sculpted different
- 26:58sculptures in like Realm. I can't think of one other time
- 27:00I had, I was going to say Michelangelo.
- 27:01I don't. I don't know the guy with the
- 27:02little Wiener. But like, yeah, they all had him
- 27:05because that was a sign of intelligence back then.
- 27:07But like, you had the Sistine Chapel, great example.
- 27:10A person created hat. A person made that.
- 27:14And I think that that's important to hold on to both in
- 27:18as Nick said, movies and TV as well as video games, like video
- 27:22games have become something more than just video games recently
- 27:25because of, as Nick said, like Neil Druckman.
- 27:28The Last of Us One and Part 2 weren't just video games with
- 27:31decent stories, they had exceptional stories.
- 27:35They had a really, I mean it. They took a basic premise,
- 27:37right? Like, I mean, I don't like Logan
- 27:41and Nick are making faces. They're typing to each other.
- 27:44Logan, I'll tell you after the show.
- 27:46I don't. Oh great.
- 27:47Fantastic. That's great.
- 27:49But like, we like well, I know. I can tell.
- 27:53But like we like The Last of Us part one because it's a normal
- 27:57story, but it's done well. And that's honestly how a lot of
- 28:01like great example Logan, the movie with Wolverine is done
- 28:07exceptionally well. But it's a pretty common story,
- 28:09right? It's it's it's almost like a
- 28:10Western. And you take those stories and
- 28:14you just have to make them interesting in their own right
- 28:17and they become special to people.
- 28:20And so for games, that's a pretty, I'd say, recent
- 28:23phenomenon where we've decided to take stories and video games
- 28:26and make them something more. God of War is a great example
- 28:29recently where you. Look at games like Half Life
- 28:32and. I was going to say Half Life is
- 28:33it, Yeah, Half Life is start, Half Life started.
- 28:36That sort of thing, where it was more than just some fun
- 28:38gameplay, right? It had a story to it, and it had
- 28:40a narrative. God of War, both 2018 and
- 28:42Ragnarok had a really great they had great themes and decisions
- 28:47made upon them where it was more than just a story or more than
- 28:50just a game, where, I mean, a lot of the previous God of Wars
- 28:53were pretty simple, right? You were creative as the God of
- 28:55War and you demolish people. And then 2018 brought in this
- 28:59sense of there's regret to those decisions, there's guilt to
- 29:03those decisions and. That's why a lot of movies that
- 29:07are renowned now as being fan favorites and being legendary,
- 29:11I'm thinking of like Goodfellas and Taxi Driver.
- 29:14I'm thinking of some Martin Scorsese flicks.
- 29:16The reason that they're so well kept now is because Goodfellas
- 29:20is a mob movie. But we're not just watching
- 29:23mobsters. We're watching a guy who grew up
- 29:25wanting to be one and ended up not wanting to have anything to
- 29:29do with it at all and dealing with the guilt and the shame and
- 29:32the problems with it. And that's why we relate to it,
- 29:35because it felt so natural and that's what games have started
- 29:40to become. And it would be really terrible
- 29:42to watch a I in a way ruin that if it's not covered correctly.
- 29:46And that's like what Nick and Logan and myself I think are
- 29:49thinking at the end of this, which is not that it can't be
- 29:52used at all, but you can't. You have to regulate it to the
- 29:55point where it is. Over something.
- 29:59It has to just be like we've all said, it's a tool.
- 30:04And a tool is not meant to take over the person wielding it.
- 30:07It is like, I think of all the cool stuff it can do, but I
- 30:09think of all the stuff it can damage.
- 30:10Like I was while we were sitting here with things I thought
- 30:12that'd be so cool is you're in GTA and you're getting chased by
- 30:16cops. You crash into another car, like
- 30:18you make a car veer off. Can you imagine how cool it
- 30:20would be, even if it's happening behind you to see that car hit a
- 30:24pole and the driver get out and like his woozy and his like
- 30:27talking like what the hell happened and then they collapse.
- 30:30Like just seeing that happen, even if it's a I generated and
- 30:34it's not a key part, it just adds that, like if you went to
- 30:39go turn around you could see that.
- 30:41That's really interesting. But well, go ahead.
- 30:44Sorry, I know you've been wanting to talk, Nick.
- 30:46Yeah. So Evan actually brought
- 30:48something up when you brought up.
- 30:50I've been thinking about this. When you brought up the whole
- 30:53we're in a dive bar. It's dingy, it's this, it's
- 30:56that. I know what that is, right?
- 30:59I know the exact feel of. That I say, me saying it.
- 31:05You know what I'm thinking? You.
- 31:07Can picture it, and if I had to put it into a scene given the
- 31:11tools, I could do it right. Given the tools, I can make that
- 31:14a scene. What the fuck does an AI, other
- 31:17than what it pulls from the Internet, know about a dingy,
- 31:19shitty dive bar that we're drinking at and there's a fight
- 31:21that breaks out? It doesn't know the feeling of
- 31:23being. It doesn't smell.
- 31:25It doesn't know the. Danger.
- 31:26It doesn't know anything, right? Doesn't, doesn't.
- 31:29Create it? Yeah, that goes back to sterile,
- 31:31takes all the stock images and just compiles them and it feels
- 31:34unnatural. Nick is that's the best way I've
- 31:38ever heard like people describe it as is that.
- 31:41We know what these things are like.
- 31:43Me describing it to you in my head, I'm thinking, how would I
- 31:46shoot this? What I shoot it behind the bar,
- 31:47what I shoot it in front of the bar, what I shoot it overhead.
- 31:50You know, you're thinking of how you want to frame it already as
- 31:53a person because you have an idea of how you'd want to see it
- 31:55because you've seen it previously.
- 31:57We've seen bar scenes portrayed in tons of movies.
- 32:00Again, going back to Goodfellas, one of the things that one of
- 32:02the most iconic shots of that movie is when.
- 32:05When? Robert De Niro's character
- 32:06determines he's going to kill the other guy.
- 32:08And it zooms in on Robert De Niro's face while it plays
- 32:11Sunshine of your Love by Cream. And you see Robert De Niro's
- 32:15eyes, they get almost more wolf. Like he knows he's going to kill
- 32:19this guy. He knows he's going to do it.
- 32:20He just doesn't know how he's going to do it.
- 32:22He doesn't know when he's going to do it.
- 32:23He's know how, but he knows he's going to do it.
- 32:25And he's made the decision within himself.
- 32:27And what we're seeing as the audience is we're just zooming
- 32:30in on his face, making that decision.
- 32:32Or already confirmed with the decision of resigning to the
- 32:34fact of it. We know what that's like not
- 32:36only because we've been in dive bars, we've had drinks, we've
- 32:40heard the song, we know what it's felt like, but we also have
- 32:43an idea of what he's feeling. Whereas the the A I doesn't know
- 32:48that feeling. It can only take images or
- 32:51descriptions from the Internet and kind of compile it into a
- 32:54general sense of what that might be.
- 32:56Whereas, well, Nick, you felt that way about people, I'm sure
- 33:00as I as have I. And you've looked that way, that
- 33:02people. Have you ever heard, you ever
- 33:04heard Evan driving on the road? I definitely heard.
- 33:07Him feel that I get. I get really annoyed when people
- 33:09drive slow, but that's still. And I also bring up the senses,
- 33:13right? Cuz you know when you walk into
- 33:15a bar, you know that smell. You know how certain shitty bars
- 33:19make your skin feel? You know, just like.
- 33:22You know the lighting. If it is it dark, Okay.
- 33:24Now I walked outside. I have a cigarette.
- 33:26It's brighter outside of times. Now my fucking I know all those
- 33:29fucking sensory overloads that an A I does.
- 33:32Not that it can only pull from. It's pulled in because you're
- 33:36telling it to, not because it knows the feeling.
- 33:39But like another cool thing I I think it could be used for.
- 33:43And I'm thinking about a game like Daisy now, right?
- 33:45Okay. Yes.
- 33:47Something that like Daisy tried that I don't think worked well.
- 33:51Was their weather system, it was supposed to be dynamic when you
- 33:55are playing, Yes. So like when you're playing on a
- 33:59server in like the Midwest, if it's raining in Michigan and
- 34:05we're playing on a server in the Midwest, how sweet would that be
- 34:11for it to just go, oh, they're they're playing on a Midwestern
- 34:13server. We know the weather shit right
- 34:15there, right now. Okay.
- 34:17So it's raining, it's snowing. It's this, it's that.
- 34:21That'd be cool. I think if you don't think of a
- 34:22game that could have made that really cool, The division.
- 34:25If they took New York's weather system and it was just cuz you
- 34:29imagine how cool would be to live in New York and it's
- 34:31snowing and it's around Christmas time and the division.
- 34:34Load up the game and it's following the weather cycle of
- 34:37what you're looking at inside. Like like Microsoft Flight
- 34:40Simulator does it. I know I believe Escape from
- 34:43Tarkov does it, but I've only heard people say that it does,
- 34:46and I can't really confirm if that is or isn't true.
- 34:49Some of the things I brought up before, it's not replacing
- 34:51something, it's just building upon it to make it to people.
- 34:55Would code it. You would code the weather, you
- 34:59would just have the a I tracking it as an active tracker.
- 35:02Yeah, it's an. Active tracker and it could
- 35:05make. It more intense sitting there
- 35:07just doing it for the rest of their.
- 35:09How cool would it be if it was just a drizzle, right?
- 35:12The A I can go okay. Well, We have this less intense
- 35:15form of rain. We have this less intense form
- 35:18of fucking snow. OK, we're gonna make it like,
- 35:20just kind of shitty out. You could also see those weather
- 35:23gradations where the weather picks up when a thunderstorm
- 35:26happens, and then it starts to brighten up and get sunny back
- 35:29again, and then it starts to fall into nighttime.
- 35:31Yeah, that'd be really trippy to see.
- 35:33I think that should be cool. I think it works really well.
- 35:36I think AI would benefit games like Star Citizen.
- 35:39Where you have so much thing, so many things that you are trying
- 35:42to create that having the most realistic experience possible
- 35:46that could definitely. So, So a human creates that
- 35:48planet, they create the atmosphere, they create what
- 35:51they want people to see on it, they create maybe special
- 35:53landmarks. And then AI kind of fills in the
- 35:56blanks, right? That brings back my dialogue
- 35:58thing for that game too, right? But like I've.
- 36:01Seen as a great example, and this is people that have made it
- 36:05as far as I know. I don't know if it's been
- 36:06machine learning. I don't know if AI has been
- 36:08involved. But like I've played Red Dead 2
- 36:11to some points where I am just in the middle of nowhere and I
- 36:15decide for whatever reason to climb this mountain.
- 36:17And I climb this mountain and I get up there and I find some
- 36:20bones and I put it in my journal.
- 36:22And then I look off in the distance and I see an area where
- 36:24I've been to like Valentine, and it's covered in thunderstorms,
- 36:29really dark looking clouds. And I can see the Thunder and I
- 36:32can see the rain from my position, and I'm.
- 36:35Probably 50, 2020 to 50 miles you would.
- 36:37Actually see the lightning, buddy?
- 36:39Yeah, right. You would hear the Thunder.
- 36:43I would hear the Thunder all. What happened buddy?
- 36:47Don't worry guys. Well, we had a great, great live
- 36:49everyone. Thanks up.
- 36:50Thanks everybody for tuning in. We need AI to fix Evan's brain.
- 36:55Right there. Yeah, that was bad.
- 36:57That wasn't nice. That wasn't nice.
- 36:59No, but you called it out. Now I feel even worse.
- 37:01Well. Now you say something nice.
- 37:03You're very pretty today. Thank you.
- 37:05You have nice hair. And Logan, you're beautiful too.
- 37:09But still, like you have those moments that you know, a I
- 37:14didn't create that, right? Like people coded the those.
- 37:18They coded those clouds in. They coded the coded the the
- 37:21lightning strikes and the Thunder like the noises, right.
- 37:24They pulled that stuff and they made that work.
- 37:26Obviously. I don't think they created all
- 37:28those things, but like a I couldn't theory.
- 37:32Pull the best Noises of Thunder and put them into a file for a
- 37:37developer to look at and then kind of mix and match and that's
- 37:41what it should be used for. Not to put it into the game, but
- 37:44to provide the developer or the producer or the writer with the
- 37:48best possible things that they could create with it.
- 37:52And that's that. And that should be something
- 37:54still where it's it's up to them if they want to use it, if they
- 37:57prefer to do their own thing because they trust their own
- 37:59abilities, they should absolutely be allowed to do it.
- 38:02That's like that's like telling Hans Zimmer, well, we've built a
- 38:04I for to help, to help you out. And it's like I really don't
- 38:07think a I needs to help Hans Zimmer.
- 38:09I think he knows what he's doing.
- 38:11Like I don't think he needs assistance, but still like.
- 38:16I like that idea of using a I as a tool, and I think that's why,
- 38:20as Nick said at the beginning of this, why it's been talked about
- 38:23is SAG AFTRA is saying don't just use it with no guidelines
- 38:28around what it can be used for, what it can take over, what it
- 38:31can be used with and what it can be done, what can be done with
- 38:34it, right, We're asking. They're not asking to completely
- 38:37get rid of it all together. I'm sure some are.
- 38:40But they're not all asking for that.
- 38:41They're saying let's regulate it and make sure that it's
- 38:43understood for both parties how it benefits both or doesn't
- 38:48necessarily ruin another party's existence.
- 38:53And and I think that's only fair to say because we've gotten some
- 38:57great acting, cinematography writing.
- 39:02I mean, that's all we've had for years and years.
- 39:05Humans writing these things, blocking these things, shooting
- 39:08these things, acting these things.
- 39:10So to just sit there and say, well, Oh well, The Big Bang
- 39:13theory is bad, hey, I should do it instead.
- 39:16I don't think that's fair. I I think that.
- 39:18Just make better movies. That.
- 39:25Entire comment alone. Keep it rolling.
- 39:28Keep it rolling. Nick knows what he's referencing
- 39:30right now, and he knows how much that annoys me.
- 39:33I mean, yeah. Twice.
- 39:35Yeah, I mean, you know, Walter White wasn't like one of the
- 39:37greatest antiheroes of this past, you know, couple 20 years,
- 39:41but yeah. Closing though, yes.
- 39:44You know not to say anything about anything specific, but do
- 39:48you see what you started? I don't give a shit.
- 39:51I'll hold. I I've.
- 39:52I've said this before. I've said this in the past week.
- 39:54I'm sure Nick and Logan have gotten annoyed as hell with me
- 39:56about it. Where I I've said specifically,
- 39:59I would rather not live in a world where a I does any part of
- 40:03the creative process because I like knowing, even if it's good
- 40:07or even if it's bad. I'd like knowing somebody put it
- 40:10in there themselves. I like knowing that when I
- 40:13listen to Athena's Grace, which is never because it's not my
- 40:16style of music, but I like. Hold on, hold on.
- 40:21I like knowing that if I do listen to it, I know that you
- 40:24wrote it because I know that it's not a fucking robot that
- 40:28decided to make that song. I know that when I listen.
- 40:32I know that when I listen to those lyrics, I know they're
- 40:34coming from a person that I know and that they are.
- 40:36They wrote them for a specific reason.
- 40:39I like knowing that I listen to The Beatles because Paul pulled
- 40:42that shit from his own experiences or from his own
- 40:44feelings rather than an A I going, well, people feel sad
- 40:48sometimes. Here's a sad song, because
- 40:50that's what AI feels like right now is, hey, this looks cool.
- 40:54I'm going to make it look cooler, kind of, and then it
- 40:57doesn't. Because we know how that.
- 41:00Feels well. I guess my closing thing on this
- 41:06is I don't ever want to be around for when it's the human
- 41:13element, the human condition, whatever you want to call it.
- 41:16To to To live is to suffer, right?
- 41:19And that's depressing as fuck for me to say, but it's just the
- 41:21truth. You suffer to grow.
- 41:24All the stories I've played involve a level of suffering
- 41:29that only a human could tell. Like only a human could write
- 41:34The Last of Us, Only a human could write Halflife or even
- 41:38like look at like Gundam or fucking Akira or anything like
- 41:43that. I don't ever want to live in a
- 41:46world where those are taken away from me or people are losing
- 41:49their fucking jobs to a fucking machine like I I want.
- 41:54I love the human element. I love the human condition
- 41:57involved in making it. And even if we live in a fucking
- 41:59world right now where video games are coming out half baked,
- 42:03I still know there's a team of people trying in most cases.
- 42:08In most cases, they are trying to give us a except for the
- 42:11people who made Gollum. I don't know what the fuck you
- 42:13were doing. But like, that's not fucking
- 42:16tiptoe around that. Sorry, I got like, I had like a
- 42:20seizure when you said the name of that.
- 42:21I never even saw the trailer to that game.
- 42:24I just heard about it and then one day I clicked on it.
- 42:26YouTube video review. And I was like, that's not real,
- 42:29right? Like, that's not real.
- 42:31What a stupid. Idea and I would have.
- 42:34Fucked that shit up. Yeah, they would have.
- 42:36Fucking slave that shit the. Computer would have killed
- 42:38itself. The computer would have fucking
- 42:41killed himself, It would have wrote.
- 42:42The story and the plot and have been like that.
- 42:44It was from like, not dog, not I.
- 42:46Don't think so. You chose the dumbest character
- 42:49in Lord of the Rings. So, like, but like what Nick
- 42:52said right there. A human wrote The Last of Us and
- 42:54you know, but like think of I got a when I got the Ellie
- 42:58edition for Part 2, there was a little note that Neil Druckman,
- 43:02it got sent out obviously with everybody.
- 43:03It wasn't like a special thing. He.
- 43:05Still wrote the initial note. He wrote the note and he said
- 43:08this story was created of what happens when you lose someone
- 43:13you love and how far will you go to avenge that person.
- 43:17And we wanted to answer that. He specifically says that I
- 43:20think where he says we wanted to answer the complex, the complex
- 43:24themes and decisions made around that.
- 43:27And yet A, I doesn't understand those decisions because it's
- 43:31never had to make them. It's never had to do that.
- 43:33And and even if it did it's because you're forcing it under
- 43:36an arbitrary condition to make those decisions.
- 43:40You're not for it's not determining that because it's
- 43:42been forced to in a sense of it's the natural progression of
- 43:46things. It's being forced to because
- 43:48it's master said determine this, what's the best outcome and it
- 43:51doesn't determine it. It doesn't determine it out.
- 43:54It doesn't determine that outcome through emotion and
- 43:58through like, because people make certain decisions all the
- 44:01time, even if they're a net good or a net bad, but they do it
- 44:04anyway because it it benefits them.
- 44:07Great example is great example is the last.
- 44:09Was part one, the real decision, the best decision?
- 44:12Probably Joel let Ellie do the surgery, but he didn't because
- 44:17he was a father again and he wasn't going to let it happen to
- 44:20him. And a I can't write that unless
- 44:23you tell it to. And in that point, it does it in
- 44:25a shitty way that doesn't feel genuine.
- 44:29Dude. At that point, like you're
- 44:30wasting so much time going back and forth with the AI, you could
- 44:33just have had someone write it in more detail and complex and
- 44:37emotional for good or bad. Whether the TV show, the movie,
- 44:41the video game, the art, the comedy series, though, whatever
- 44:45the hell it is, if it's bad, at least the human wrote it and
- 44:49they tried. And even if they failed, they
- 44:51still tried, which is a lot more than I can say for a lot of
- 44:53other people. I'm sure we've all had creative
- 44:55ideas. We've all had creative
- 44:56decisions, yet we didn't do it. But yet they tried and they
- 44:59failed. And that's one thing.
- 45:03Didn't we just have an issue with AI saying that we were the
- 45:06disease on this earth and it would kill us to save the
- 45:08planet? So I don't really want to give
- 45:10it the launch codes. Right.
- 45:13But didn't an AI just go, yeah, we would have to eradicate you.
- 45:16Yeah, if I'm not. Okay, that did happen.
- 45:18Yeah, it wasn't a fever dream. Yeah.
- 45:20So it said, you know, you're the problem.
- 45:23And we were like, oh, we should let you take over.
- 45:24It's like, no, that's its answer of going, you're the problem
- 45:27we're going to. Get rid of you.
- 45:28Plug it. It doesn't have thumbs.
- 45:31Yeah, it can't stop you. Yes.
- 45:35The longer. Yeah.
- 45:36The longer you wait, I was. Yeah.
- 45:38The longer you wait, the closer it gets to just getting into the
- 45:40system altogether. Brother.
- 45:42Is it? An I robot, we will lose this
- 45:45fight. I swear.
- 45:46It's not a it's not a win, but like something.
- 45:48Else I thought of too. I know you know, we're not all
- 45:50super heavy into it, but like AI has been doing like a lot of
- 45:54animation stuff. Can you imagine AI taking over
- 45:57like the anime business? So and just taking everyone's
- 46:01jobs, who does hand drawn animation and just plugs in the
- 46:04plot and it just animates it for you.
- 46:06Think of the stop motion film made by an AI.
- 46:09Well, like think of terrible. Think of me, Akira.
- 46:13Yeah, Kira is all hand and I got to know.
- 46:16You're not an anime guy, Evan, but like Akira is like one of
- 46:19these movies. Curious for I think just for
- 46:22reference, Evan Akira, you could watch it today and it looks up
- 46:25to par with animes coming out now.
- 46:27And then you realize it's like decades old and you're like,
- 46:31wait, what does it look as? Does it look as good as James
- 46:33Cameron's Avatar? I'm gonna be.
- 46:37But no, I just wanted to stop everybody in the attraction.
- 46:40But no, I believe you. But it's hand drawn, right?
- 46:42It's a human druid, a human fuck.
- 46:46And that's what I'm saying. I don't ever want to lose the
- 46:48human touch to my media, especially in movies and video
- 46:52games and music. Video game is more than anything
- 46:55else. Because that's to lose my
- 46:57escape. Exactly.
- 46:59Well, to lose my escape because it would be a loss, man.
- 47:03Like all these the biggest loss that we didn't really touch on,
- 47:06that we'll do really quick it again.
- 47:08It it's it's the people involved.
- 47:10That is another big concern. Selfishly, don't touch it on my
- 47:13end. Unselfishly.
- 47:16There are teams that have dedicated their entire fucking
- 47:19life to create this craft, which is video games.
- 47:23Entire teams. I don't ever want us to even
- 47:25lose their jobs. And that is my closing.
- 47:28And Logan's laughing and Evan's typing.
- 47:30What? What now?
- 47:31You sent us a text. No, Alex is mad.
- 47:35Alex is mad because we haven't wrapped up yet.
- 47:37But no, I don't have much more to say other than I I agree
- 47:39with, I agree with, I agree with Nick and I agree with Logan.
- 47:44I think it, and I think that most people would agree is that
- 47:47it should be used as a tool. And you know, sometimes when you
- 47:52say make better movies, that's because people tried their best
- 47:56and it didn't work out. And you know how that goes is
- 47:58that if they just aren't cut out for it, they don't get hired
- 48:01again, which is kind of the point.
- 48:04It's also the studio execs really fucking everything up,
- 48:06just like how it's the executives fucking the video
- 48:08game industry up. Yeah, when you say make better
- 48:11movies, you know who probably signed off on that movie?
- 48:13Some studio exec that has no idea what people are interested
- 48:17in. Well, you know why Barbie was
- 48:20good? Because it was original and it
- 48:22was funny. You know why the Uno movie isn't
- 48:24going to be good? Because Mattel said Barbie did
- 48:27good. Uno should do good.
- 48:29I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say pause.
- 48:31They're making 14 different Mattel movies because Barbie did
- 48:35good one time. What's an Uno movie?
- 48:37What? It's just me and you and Evan
- 48:40and Alex playing Uno. I'm so down there.
- 48:43I know that that's not the truth.
- 48:44So like, what is the Uno movie? Well it's also mean we don't
- 48:47know how to use how to use the four up card.
- 48:50We don't, we don't know. They're making, they're making
- 48:54lunar movie. They're making like a ton.
- 48:57Of is it going to be like the creation of Uno like Tetris?
- 49:01Because, like, we don't know No but.
- 49:03I'm saying, to be fair, that would be interesting.
- 49:04Now, if it's going to be some monotonous story that's based
- 49:07around the game of Uno of someone's life story, check me
- 49:10the fuck out. Not even showing up for the
- 49:12trailer? No.
- 49:14I like. I liked Barbie because it was
- 49:15funny and original and it was a good premise.
- 49:18I'm not going to watch the fucking Uno movie because
- 49:20there's a bunch of different cars I don't understand.
- 49:22Like, no. Yeah, you also.
- 49:24He's also colorblind, so that's why it really hates, you know?
- 49:26Yeah, I can't. I wouldn't be able to tell what
- 49:28was going on. I'm completely good on all.
- 49:30That he's really easy to be in Uno.
- 49:32He's live and tell him what the color is and he believes you
- 49:35shut up. That is bugs bully.
- 49:38WASD, we're we're we're closing AI as a tool.
- 49:43Fine. AI as a whole.
- 49:45No, let's, let's can I say you're a fucking scumbag, bro.
- 49:49Catches hands. Let me add something in people
- 49:52who think that AI should take over humans jobs are also tools.
- 49:56There we go. We need.
- 49:58To just cut this because you guys are gonna get in trouble
- 50:01and I'm getting third party here.
- 50:03Yeah, but WASD stands with SAG. We stand, we stand with the WGA,
- 50:09Keep striking. Keep fucking.
- 50:11It's going to suck for a while for moviegoers, but it helps not
- 50:15bleed into the our industry, into the video game industry.
- 50:18It eventually will bleed, yeah, both for fresh popcorn.
- 50:23I don't buy treats from the movie theater.
- 50:24I just. I don't he.
- 50:25Calls him treats. He's so cute, right?
- 50:27He's right. He's right.
- 50:28I don't need. His little treaties.
- 50:30But that is my thinking is if it's there right now in
- 50:33Hollywood. It will bleed into EA, it'll
- 50:37bleed into CDPR, It'll bleed into everywhere, I'm sure.
- 50:41There's, I'm sure there's discussions.
- 50:43Ubisoft is a great example because they I'm sure would do
- 50:46it. Yeah, they're still trying to
- 50:47shoot for NF T's. You fucking morons just burn on
- 50:50the ground. Assassin's.
- 50:51Yeah, Assassin's. Can we stop with NFT is dying
- 50:54off? Yeah, let it die.
- 50:57But so that is my that's my thing.
- 50:58If it's there, it's going to come here and we can't let that
- 51:01happen. So again, we're with, we're with
- 51:03the writers. We're with the actors.
- 51:05Much love. Thank you for striking.
- 51:07Again, it's going to suck. But when it comes back, full
- 51:10force is going to be. But you guys are doing the right
- 51:12thing and and you're standing up for yourselves and you're
- 51:14saying, you know what I want residuals.
- 51:15I want AI to not take over my fucking.
- 51:17Body and I. Please, please don't.
- 51:20Push doing back. Yeah, Nick really doesn't want
- 51:23doing to be pushed back. Neither do I.
- 51:25Let's be clear. I don't want because I'm going
- 51:27to go see Dune and. IMAX Push Dune back five years.
- 51:29Give it time. I'll kill you.
- 51:30I will fucking stab you today. I I would go see like and not I
- 51:34would go but like. I hope that the plan is you,
- 51:38Noah and I go see dude. That's we'll talk off there.
- 51:42Yeah, that's that's fine because he didn't want to see
- 51:45Oppenheimer with me and I, Max. When you get when you get back
- 51:49down to the side of the state, we'll go see it anyways.
- 51:51Please check out the sponsor of the show that is final Boss and
- 51:54Doc Long. You check out the Swamp Cab
- 51:55network. Join the server, have a good
- 51:57time, play with us, hang out with us, and we'll talk to you
- 52:00about AI and everything that we hate.
- 52:02Until next Friday, guys. Take it easy.
- 52:05We love you. Thank you for joining us, Logan.
- 52:07Thank you buddy. Bye.
- 52:09Goodbye everybody. This is the WASD and Beyond
- 52:21podcast. Enemy Spawn.
