- 2:01Speaker 1: will be I'm still kind of hinky and the whole
- 2:03Speaker 1: cold plunge thing. I it seems kind of hooky to me.
- 2:07Speaker 3: It has the only time I've ever enjoyed it is
- 2:11Speaker 3: when you take a sauna and you get really overheat,
- 2:16Speaker 3: like going yeah, and then do a cold plunge.
- 2:19Speaker 1: But see the cold plunge is just the cold plunge,
- 2:22Speaker 1: and they claim that it's great. I mean, Amy Poehler
- 2:25Speaker 1: loves it. I don't know, sort of, it's sort of invigorous.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I think if you enjoy it, but if you're expecting
- 2:30Speaker 2: it to like cure things exactly exactly.
- 2:34Speaker 3: If you like a.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Cold plunge, do a cold plunge.
- 2:37Speaker 1: But I don't think it's fixed.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I'm telling you, guys, I had ricketts at one time,
- 2:43Speaker 3: and I did a couple of cold plunges and they
- 2:44Speaker 3: went away. You know.
- 2:45Speaker 2: As far as the water stuff though that you were
- 2:47Speaker 2: talking about, Carrie, when my kids were babies were toddlers,
- 2:52Speaker 2: if they're like over stimulated and not calming down and
- 2:57Speaker 2: you can't you stick them in the bathtub. If they
- 3:00Speaker 2: don't need a bath, just put a little water in
- 3:01Speaker 2: the bathtub calms them down.
- 3:04Speaker 1: It works, you know it.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Also what also also works is put them a turn
- 3:08Speaker 3: on the cold water in the shower and put them
- 3:11Speaker 3: in there.
- 3:12Speaker 1: That's not a bathtub full of ni quill is it, No, No,
- 3:15Speaker 1: just just warm water.
- 3:16Speaker 3: They love it.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Let's see back to the nothing shower A great stress
- 3:20Speaker 1: management tool after a long day at worker school. There's
- 3:23Speaker 1: nothing better than kicking off your shoes and soaking in
- 3:25Speaker 1: a hot bath ub during a nothing shower. There are
- 3:28Speaker 1: no phones to answer, no conversations to participate in, no
- 3:31Speaker 1: one attend to You're just standing under blissful running water.
- 3:36Speaker 1: So they say it offers the same relaxation and provides
- 3:40Speaker 1: a space for you to decompress after stressful day.
- 3:43Speaker 3: I really should probably stop taking my phone into the shower. Yep,
- 3:46Speaker 3: I should stop doing that.
- 3:49Speaker 1: They give you, it says here an energy boost forget
- 3:52Speaker 1: coffee or a sudden for a sudden jold of energy.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Nothing showers of the way to go, especially cold nothing
- 3:58Speaker 1: showers act it's the sympathetic nervous system releases Nora adrenaline. Again,
- 4:06Speaker 1: this is starting to sound hooky to me. But anyway, no,
- 4:08Speaker 1: I think.
- 4:09Speaker 3: It's just the wall. Yeah, it has a calming effect.
- 4:12Speaker 3: It just does.
- 4:13Speaker 1: They keep you grounded. Nothing showers are a great time
- 4:16Speaker 1: for self reflection and brainstorming, so meditation in a way.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Do you ever argue with people like practice arguments with
- 4:22Speaker 2: people in the shower?
- 4:23Speaker 3: I bring I bring actually my wife into the bathroom
- 4:26Speaker 3: and I argue with her while I'm in the shower.
- 4:29Speaker 1: And since there's usually no interruptions while you're in the shower,
- 4:33Speaker 1: allowing you to get so much needed alone time to
- 4:36Speaker 1: tap into your thoughts.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Again, I've got to stop taking my phone into the shower.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it says they help improve your sleep.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Oh, I love a before bed shower, taking.
- 4:47Speaker 1: A shower just before bedtime. I tried actually sleeping in
- 4:50Speaker 1: the shower.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Waterproof pillow and no, so I could do I could
- 4:55Speaker 2: do a regular shower in the morning and then just
- 4:58Speaker 2: before bed a nothing shower.
- 5:00Speaker 1: It says a few hours before bedtime, your core body
- 5:02Speaker 1: temperature cools down. Naturally, temperatures in our hands and feed
- 5:06Speaker 1: go up. Taking a shower, specifically a warm on before
- 5:08Speaker 1: bed can help natural temperature regulation process. And previously your
- 5:13Speaker 1: body cools down after a warm shower conductive to melatonin release.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Now you may remember that I Bill Allread once spent
- 5:23Speaker 3: twenty four hours in a shower.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Now, you weren't naked, No, and it wasn't hot.
- 5:31Speaker 3: No, it wasn't hot. It was just sort of room temperature.
- 5:35Speaker 3: I think it was just room temperature. And I was
- 5:37Speaker 3: wearing the radio. It was a radio promotion for gore
- 5:41Speaker 3: Tex Fabrics that Kirk Coomb's Outdoor Products. And I think
- 5:45Speaker 3: I started at four in the afternoon and I went
- 5:50Speaker 3: I was in there for twenty four hours. It was horrible.
- 5:55Speaker 3: It was like torture.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Well, this one doesn't recommend to twenty four hour, No,
- 6:00Speaker 1: I would think not. Yeah, something to think about.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I mean every once in a while, I
- 6:06Speaker 3: just I don't I'm not particularly dirty or anything. I
- 6:10Speaker 3: just I just, for some reason, I'll go, I'd like
- 6:12Speaker 3: to take a shower, and so I guess that's what
- 6:15Speaker 3: I do. I do it to just calms me down
- 6:17Speaker 3: a little.
- 6:18Speaker 1: After I'm done with the shower, I like to stand
- 6:20Speaker 1: there for a few minutes and just let it happen.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Air dry, No in the shower.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Oh oh, I see. I actually kind of like in
- 6:28Speaker 3: the summertime, just air drying, not using a towel. Let
- 6:32Speaker 3: you get out, not using a tow.
- 6:35Speaker 1: That's nothing that you want to Yeah.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Well let's no, go ahead and picture it picture it now. Yeah,
- 6:42Speaker 3: picture it standing there dripping wet until you're dry.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Okay, do you have your leg up so the crevice
- 6:48Speaker 1: is getting dry?
- 6:49Speaker 3: Uh? No, I actually I sit down and I spread
- 6:52Speaker 3: my legs apart.
- 6:53Speaker 1: That works. That means that they're exposed.
- 6:56Speaker 2: You're ruining my peaceful, my peaceful bath image.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you do have to make sure that all the
- 7:02Speaker 3: water gets out of the places it shouldn't be.
- 7:05Speaker 1: H Do you have a special towel for that?
- 7:08Speaker 3: I use a it's a it's a leather strap.
- 7:12Speaker 1: It's it's a leather How is that going to get
- 7:15Speaker 1: you dry? You?
- 7:16Speaker 3: Hey? You were you rub? Yeah? You rub leather fast
- 7:19Speaker 3: enough on, it's gonna dry, It'll dry.
- 7:22Speaker 1: That doesn't seem very relaxing.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Well, it gives megorating, right, yeah, I mean it kind
- 7:29Speaker 3: of charges me up. You know.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Have you seen that comedian Robbie Hoffman. She's on Hacks.
- 7:36Speaker 3: She's hilarious.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and I saw a little clip from her Netflix.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Special weed Oh you did.
- 7:45Speaker 2: She does a whole bit about towels, which is so funny.
- 7:49Speaker 2: She talks about how you know you're poor if if
- 7:52Speaker 2: you had like the same towels since you were a.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Child, like you just don't get new towels like. Yeah.
- 8:00Speaker 1: She just reminds me of that character from Laughing though, Gladys,
- 8:07Speaker 1: what's the character's name? Is it Edith Prickley?
- 8:10Speaker 3: No, that's from uh.
- 8:13Speaker 1: TV, Oh yeah, that is from messy TV.
- 8:16Speaker 3: But she said character I think her name was Gladys
- 8:19Speaker 3: could be, but.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Yeah, she said she went over to a friend's house
- 8:22Speaker 2: and she brought her towel because that's what you do.
- 8:23Speaker 2: You go swimming friend and they had these like brand
- 8:27Speaker 2: new fluffy towels. She's like, a fluffy towel doesn't get you. Dry,
- 8:30Speaker 2: old old towel get you.
- 8:34Speaker 3: I agree, I do not care for fluffy towels. Now
- 8:36Speaker 3: we don't have old old towels, but we have towels
- 8:38Speaker 3: that are kind of rough. That was kind of her point.
- 8:41Speaker 2: It was like these fluffy towels, She's like, they never
- 8:44Speaker 2: draw you off.
- 8:45Speaker 3: No, you need a little friction. That's why the works.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Is it a good special or is she it's it's
- 8:54Speaker 2: it's she's she's she's very aggressive.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Uh No, I quite enjoyed it.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Isn't she on murders in the building too?
- 9:01Speaker 1: Sometimes I didn't like, I said. I was caught up
- 9:05Speaker 1: in the fact that she looks like that Lily Tomlin character,
- 9:09Speaker 1: Ruth Buzzy. Ruth buzzy, thank you, the Ruth Buzzy character.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Old comedians are. I couldn't get past that. I kept
- 9:15Speaker 1: staring at the partner hair and the glasses and the
- 9:18Speaker 1: way she had to pull back. It was just exactly
- 9:21Speaker 1: like the Ruth Buzzy character anyway,
