- 0:29Good morning from the Noisy Chicken Coop this morning.
- 0:33Apparently, we're having a big argument in their over space of
- 0:36where to lay an egg because you know, they get fixated on what
- 0:39they want just like human beings and they don't let it go and
- 0:43then they do that until you get out of their way.
- 0:46Very funny. Babe.
- 0:47You're bad. Anyway, today we are talking
- 0:49about watching your luggage and what do I mean by watching your
- 0:53luggage? Okay, we all know when we go on
- 0:57a trip we have to remember that We've got to go up against that
- 1:01scale at the airport. We've got to get there.
- 1:03We've got to put our stuff into the luggage and make sure it
- 1:07does not weigh more than the allotted amount or we have to
- 1:11pay exorbitant fees to put our luggage on there.
- 1:14And we'll also say, you got to remember what you're taking with
- 1:16you. Take what you need most and you
- 1:19go through and you pack and sometimes you re pack.
- 1:21If you're like me, you pack. You see what you have.
- 1:23You repack you pack. You repack.
- 1:24You want to make sure that you have exactly what you need.
- 1:28You're not taking anything extra with you.
- 1:30You've got Everything that you're going to like absolutely
- 1:34need in case, you can't get it when you get there.
- 1:36And then you've got to make sure you're not taking too much with
- 1:39you because of the weight. So what is this metaphor that
- 1:43I'm using for you? Well, think about this when it
- 1:46comes to thoughts and your past boy, if we did this process with
- 1:51everything that we carry around with us all the time.
- 1:54How would that shift us? How would that make us be
- 1:57different people? Because if we had to sit and
- 1:59say, well, is this, Something I'm really going to need to take
- 2:02with me. Is this something that I should
- 2:03keep referencing again? And is this something that I
- 2:06should keep going back to or if am I really going to need this
- 2:09moving forward in my world? Or is this just something?
- 2:12That was a ridiculous thought and I had it at one point in
- 2:15time and I don't need it anymore.
- 2:17And you started using the watch your luggage metaphor for
- 2:21everything that you carry around with you all day everyday, like
- 2:25our list of anxieties or frustrations, or offenses, two
- 2:30things, Have happened in our past.
- 2:32Wow, that could change everything and I love, love love
- 2:37using this with people because I think that it helps simplify the
- 2:42process and everything about what I do with my clients is
- 2:46always about simplifying, the process.
- 2:48How can I make this as simple as possible so that they can get it
- 2:52and use it quickly. And for me, if you start to
- 2:55think about that luggage, it is such a quick way.
- 3:00To shift and change such a quick way to shift and change because
- 3:04you'll say well is this something I want to pack and
- 3:06take with me? Do I want to take this with me?
- 3:08And then you can always reference them back again and
- 3:10say well didn't I make the decision not to take this with
- 3:12me. Great.
- 3:13Why am I talking about it? Why is this here?
- 3:15Why am I bringing it up? Because it's not something that
- 3:18I chose to pack and take with me.
- 3:20So point being there is nothing more important than these
- 3:25choices that you make on a daily basis.
- 3:27Nothing. And if you start recognizing I
- 3:30think how much you reference back to the luggage, how much
- 3:34you reference back to the stuff that you don't want, how much
- 3:37you reference back to it, even though you don't want it, you
- 3:41will be astonished at how much it affects you and just like
- 3:46double-checking triple checking and going through the luggage
- 3:49repeatedly. When we're getting ready to go
- 3:51on a trip, it matters. I remember when I had the
- 3:56absolute luck love and pleasure of going to backpack in
- 3:59Thailand. You know, many years ago.
- 4:03My husband and I got married there and he had backpack before
- 4:07and I had never backpack. I, I traveled with like, big
- 4:11luggage as much as I could. I took everything I could with
- 4:14me and he is. Somebody who's a minimalist?
- 4:18You know, do you really need that?
- 4:20We can do laundry. Do you really think that this is
- 4:22necessary? And I, when he told me, we were
- 4:25going to be, you know, doing this in backpacks, because it's
- 4:29easy to get on and off. It's easy to get everywhere.
- 4:33I was like, oh no, my certainty girl kicked in and Panik
- 4:37happened. And I was like, there is no way,
- 4:39especially when I realized we were doing this for three weeks,
- 4:42especially when I realized that, oh my gosh, I'm going to
- 4:45actually do this and I don't have the certainty of knowing
- 4:51where I will be, if there will be laundry.
- 4:53If I will have facilities. I mean obviously there are
- 4:57laundries over there. Why am I thinking?
- 4:59I'm not going to be able to find something because that's how our
- 5:02brains work and we freaked out about stuff.
- 5:05So it took an absolute Monumental effort in my mind to
- 5:09be able to stop that process from going on in my head and
- 5:13say, yes I can pack in a backpack, but I can't begin to
- 5:17tell you how many times I had to repack that backpack.
- 5:20I had to look at it. I had to scrutinize it.
- 5:23I had to go. And and honestly like tell I
- 5:28mean if I'm telling the God's honest truth, I cried I stood
- 5:31there and said I can't do it with this.
- 5:33Like number of things, I need to have more, I'm going to need two
- 5:36backpacks. He's like, you can't have two
- 5:38backpacks, it's not called backpacking to carry multiple
- 5:41backpacks. It's one backpack and plus I had
- 5:44a camera bag, so, I had no choice.
- 5:46I had to figure it out and the more I did it, the better.
- 5:52It got the the the more I looked at it, I had it all spread out
- 5:56on the floor. The more I examined it.
- 5:58The more I said, do I really need you?
- 6:00This is something that I'm really going to need and when I
- 6:03kept going back and re-examining re-examining re-examining, I was
- 6:07able to do it and you know what, not only did I survive the trip,
- 6:13I say it like that because it was one of the most glorious
- 6:15trips of my life. Not only did I survive it, I
- 6:19thrived, I love everything about it and I didn't have a quarter
- 6:24of what I would have taken if I was left to my own accord.
- 6:28So point being when you You do this with your emotions when you
- 6:32do this with the the past and all the things that have
- 6:36happened in the past and you say, I'm not taking you with me.
- 6:39I'm done, I'm putting that aside.
- 6:41Glorious things happen. So I'm going to challenge you to
- 6:44do that. Watch your luggage start
- 6:46thinking about it, and don't think about it, once really
- 6:49think about it really, really think about it pour into it
- 6:52because I promise you you will see Grand results when you do
- 6:56this. Just, nope, I'm not taking this.
- 6:58Nope, I don't need this and just put it aside and when it shows
- 7:02up, get rid of it because it's not necessary.
- 7:05I hope you guys have an amazingly blessed day and I will
- 7:08see you tomorrow.
