- 0:16to help you reach your savings goals. It's at thecurve.co.nz
- 0:20Welcome to the Curve Podcast, a conversation for women who want to learn more about money,
- 0:26their money, for the future they want to have. We're all busy in the pursuit for financial
- 0:31confidence and increasing your wealth should be a simple one. So thank you for being here
- 0:36and for listening because together we really can raise the curve.
- 0:41I'm having a morning radio or something. Oh, these early morning records.
- 0:46VIXERAL, early morning person. I just... I just love having a few hours on the day before we
- 0:53run our skits up. My flatmates still asleep right now in the fact that we're recording a podcast.
- 0:57Have you exercised already? Yeah. What did you do? I went for a walk round.
- 1:01Go to the garage. But like, cos they have a dog. But you know, like I just love like,
- 1:05I can start my day on my own rather than waking up and be like,
- 1:08there is something about this. This is going to sound woo woo but the collective energy when
- 1:13people are sleeping at feels karma. You know early in the morning there is this energy that
- 1:18feels a bit more. Yeah. I don't know. People are still asleep and don't get me wrong. I love
- 1:22a sleeper. Do you even know how to sleep? I slept until like nine on Sunday and I was like,
- 1:27oh that's the question. I was like, it's like it's like 10 o'clock and like half the day's gone
- 1:31and I haven't done anything. I was like, freaking out. But I was like, you know, just embrace it. It's
- 1:35fine. It's fine. So a couple of months ago I started talking on the curve socials about my car
- 1:42situation. Oh god. So I drive. Yeah. This has been kind of a running joke amongst my friends,
- 1:48family, everyone for seven years. So I've been driving this. God, it's literally a cardboard box
- 1:55on wheels. Like the wind comes and it feels like it's going to blow off the road. It's like a little
- 1:59bubble that's like, the bump is about to fall off. It does. Sometimes on the motorway there's this
- 2:04back panel that flaps in the wind and I have to pull over and kick it in. Like it's really not safe.
- 2:12It's certainly not chic. The one thing I had going for it was the petrol was not too expensive.
- 2:18Like it was probably $40 for me to fill out for two weeks just because it was such an old car.
- 2:22Yeah. Which isn't interesting but it was economical for sure. Look terrible but economical.
- 2:28I mean, it might not get from A to B but hey, it didn't cost me much. It would be like I would be
- 2:33doing road trips in the summer and I genuinely, my parents set me down and say, you know, so I don't
- 2:39think it's safe to be driving. The Honda Jazz on the open road, which is actually fair.
- 2:44I wrote it at once. Oh my gosh. I was like, what does that sound? I was like, literally scared for
- 2:50my life. I was like, get me out, get me out, get me out. And that's why I never gave you a ride
- 2:54until that point is because I knew you'd be sassy about it. But I would always park my car around
- 3:00the corner. I had a meeting. I was really embarrassed of it and people would be like, I saw you driving.
- 3:06No, you didn't. No, you didn't. Oh, it wasn't me.
- 3:12I was having this huge, weird hang up about my car. So I've never really had
- 3:17heaps of spare income. I've always been in jobs that are, you know, I mean, to be fair, I have had
- 3:25some good paying jobs when I was working in Australia. I was on like 150 grand, like four years ago,
- 3:31five years ago, which for me at the time, I remember thinking, I'm never going to earn more
- 3:35than this. You know, it was, it was quite absurd to me to be earning so much money. But I think
- 3:39you're just very good at not spending it on something that kind of doesn't bring you value or,
- 3:46you know, you're very good at being strict with your money. I think so.
- 3:49Oh, well, I'm going to take that as a real compliment. However, what I do think is I have had a
- 3:54real hang up around spending money on frivolous things. And when I say frivolous, buying a new car
- 4:00for a safety perspective or any other reason, it doesn't even matter if I wanted to buy one just
- 4:05because I wanted to feel good in my car. I had this real hang up about spending, whether it be
- 4:105, 10, 20, 30 grand in my car. Whereas I'm kind of the opposite. I spend a lot of time in my car.
- 4:17I, you know, it's like, yes, in safety is a key issue. But also like I make phone calls in my car.
- 4:23You know, like it's very productive space for me. It's a space like where do I need meditation?
- 4:28But you know, like it is kind of like a really calming nice place and I love
- 4:32being in a nice car. I think what comes into this is the way that you spend your money and how
- 4:37you feel when you spend it. So, for example, I think if I was to spend money on a nice car,
- 4:43I would probably feel really good about it. And I'd be so proud that I'd saved that much to get
- 4:47there. But the problem was, I think, is that A, I felt as though it was almost unobtainable,
- 4:54or like it was too out of reach, which is sad. And I also had this guilt around wanting
- 5:02something nice. I would love to buy an Audi. I have always wanted one. And I, but I just,
- 5:08I had this hang up of, oh, imagine if I, you know, one day have to pay for XYZ or, you know,
- 5:15I just was worried that I hadn't prepared myself financially to be able to justify and plan
- 5:21properly to make a decision like that with my money. Yeah. And a lot of people do. And you know,
- 5:26it is a big purchase. But I think if you put the right steps in place and well, the great thing
- 5:33about having a goal is actually visualising it. It was so motivating. And if you break it down,
- 5:39then that $30,000 car doesn't seem so overwhelming. If you have to save, you know, $50 a week,
- 5:46all $50 a month, whatever. And you chip away at it. Then that goal doesn't seem as like
- 5:51enormous in out of reach. Definitely. And I think that that was the problem. There was, I mean,
- 5:56there was many things. But when I shared it on Instagram, I was so overwhelmed by how many
- 6:02people message actually specifically about a car saying, I also drive like a really average car.
- 6:09And I feel ashamed of it. But I also feel ashamed that I feel ashamed of it. Yeah. It was the
- 6:14self perpetuating thing that a lot of people could relate to, which I thought was super interesting.
- 6:19I didn't know if it was my own hangout or if it was something that was kind of prevalent amongst
- 6:24particularly women. And it's so personal. It's like a lot of people might look at cars and go,
- 6:28are terrible investment. I'm not going to spend money on a on a nice car. And others are like, no,
- 6:33you know what? Safety is a key feature. I spend a lot of time in my car. I take my kids in my car.
- 6:38So therefore I want space and I want a nice car. And, and it's so personal. And so, yeah, I
- 6:45totally hear what you're coming from around. You feel guilty about feeling guilty.
- 6:50So anyway, when we started speaking about this on social media, Audi got in touch with us and sort
- 6:55of said, you know, we'd be quite keen to help you visualize your goal. Yeah. And it got us
- 7:01thinking, okay, how could we do this if I'm struggling? And I was personally so stoked.
- 7:06Love Audi. I have had the last two cars have been outies. And I love them. Yeah. And that's,
- 7:12yeah, not hashtag it. That is very much. Yeah. Genuinely. Genuinely. So when they contacted us,
- 7:18I initially thought, hmm, I wonder if Audi is a good alignment for the curve because, you know,
- 7:24as you say, cars traditionally, a lot of people look at that and might not think, oh, great
- 7:29investment. But it's a totally personal decision. If some people, that is the best way they could
- 7:33spend their money. And if that brings you value and happiness and you want to cut back
- 7:36your spending on other areas, then go for it. It's like, it's so personal and... A hundred
- 7:41percent. Yeah. And we're all about empowering people to spend their money in a way that feels
- 7:46best for them. Yeah. Having, yeah, making educated decisions, I think. And they done this. I remember
- 7:53saying all these influencers go through this pop up. It was, and you remember it was called
- 7:57Scramble Car. Yeah. And they basically had, it was a pink outing and they had these giant black
- 8:04felt-tip things and they were encouraging women or anyone really to go down and write a message.
- 8:10And I just saw that and I thought that's so cool. They turned the pink car essentially into a black
- 8:14one. So cool. Which is awesome. And what a way to do it, rather than just, oh, we'll just paint
- 8:18it black. It's like, no, come down, write a slogan and back an empowering message. And it was
- 8:24interesting. So we sort of went on this, had this conversation with Audi around, okay, well,
- 8:28how could we encourage our audience and people like me who are struggling to save or prepare
- 8:35to be able to buy a big ticket item like an Audi? And anyway, so the conversation spiraled into,
- 8:42why don't we create some kind of savings calculator? Which gives the visualization of what is it
- 8:47you're saving for? Is it a car? Is it a holiday? Is it a wedding? Is it your retirement? What is it
- 8:52that you want to say for? And then breaking that goal down and it was so good to get your brain
- 8:57across that thing? Because I think you're right, the idea of creating a goal and being able to
- 9:02visualize it and being able to know how much you're contributing each month, to know if you're
- 9:07going to invest that money if it's going to be for two or three years. Yeah, because I think having
- 9:11a visualized goal is so much more motivating and having something tangible specific, like,
- 9:18specific value or anything, it just makes it, makes you so much less likely to go off course.
- 9:24It's like, if you were like, oh, you know, I just want to be a better runner. It's like, okay,
- 9:29cool. But if you're like, no, you know what? I wouldn't be able to run 20 kilometers by October next
- 9:33year. Then you break it down, you're like, okay, cool. What do I have to do in small increments over
- 9:38those months to get there? And it's exactly the same with any investing goal. If you want, you know,
- 9:43ex amount at retirement. It's like, okay, what do I need to save now to get there by the time
- 9:4865? And it's the same with the car. It's like, okay, cool. I want to get a $50,000 car. Okay,
- 9:52what do I need to save to get there? And when you break it down to bite-sized pieces, it's so much
- 9:57more manageable. And when you drive an Audi way more motivating. Oh my gosh. So a part of this,
- 10:05oh, so we ended up coming to an agreement on doing a sponsor shit, which was Vick's dream and
- 10:10also my dream. So we created the savings calculator, which I must say, everything that you just
- 10:16mentioned in terms of being able to break it down and seeing what you need. Even if it's $160,000
- 10:21car. Yeah. Is it going to take you 10 years to get there? That's fine. But at least you know
- 10:25you're taking steps to get there. And that visualization piece is so massive. And it's good to know
- 10:30what's realistic in your budget. You know, if you're like, I want $160,000 car by tomorrow and I've
- 10:35got no savings. It's like, okay, well, maybe you're feeling empowered. That's right. Okay,
- 10:41maybe it's moved that time out a bit and see how much you have to save. And so it's kind of,
- 10:45yeah, you figure out what's realistic with your current spending or what you need to cut back on
- 10:49or yeah, and it's really, really helps. And I think the savings calculator, what's been great with
- 10:54that is you can adjust the timelines, right? And so you can look at your expenditure and you can
- 10:59look at how long it might take to save to get there. And then say you look at the rest of the money
- 11:04that you're spending and you say, oh, I'm spending $250 a month on coffees. Yeah. And you know,
- 11:10if you were to put that money towards your savings goal, how much quicker you'd be reaching it,
- 11:15it's motivating. But if you have no concept of where your money's going,
- 11:19totally, or how long it's going to take, there isn't a whole lot of motivation. And I think that's
- 11:23how I felt. I felt quite helpless because I was like, well, it's just two out of reach. It's
- 11:27two over one thing. So number one, the savings calculator has been game changer. Yeah. And number two,
- 11:34driving the Audi eTron has been like, I could get emotional. It's been unbelievable. I didn't know.
- 11:43Are you going to go back to the Honda Jazz? I cannot. I just can't. I know. I'm sorry. It's a car
- 11:50bad side. No, I never thought that this would be in my future. Honestly, never thought I would have
- 11:57the capacity. I mean, granted, I haven't bought it. So it's not. It's not a pet on that. No,
- 12:03but it just feels more realistic. Oh, totally. I think it was so unrealistic. Oh, even for me,
- 12:08driving that and I was like, oh, my God, this is a nice car. This is so motivating to work hard
- 12:13and put my money aside for a nice car because it's like when you get in there and you touch the steering
- 12:18wheel, it's something like, ooh, I'm going to cloud. Yes. I think there's also this element which I
- 12:23really resonate with driving this particular car and not spending money on petrol. Obviously,
- 12:29I mean, there's obviously the financial side of things dream. It's so nice because I'm very
- 12:33broke at the moment. Yeah. But at the same time, it was also the element of it being electric
- 12:39because we harp on so much here at the curve about the importance of spending your money on
- 12:44things that align with your values. And for me, I care so deeply about the planet. Yeah.
- 12:51So much. And I think to be able to drive a car where I know that I'm not also increasing my
- 12:57emissions in my foot, put foot, foot, foot and increasing my footprint. Yes. Sorry. I feel so
- 13:04good about that. And so when I look at my savings goals in terms of trying to reach being able to
- 13:10buy an electric Audi, yes, it's over 10 years before I can buy that. But to know that that's where I'm
- 13:15going gives me so much joy. There's a monetary element of saving petrol, but there's also the
- 13:22environmental aspect of saving petrol, not buying petrol. And I think if anything has taught us in
- 13:28the last couple of weeks about what's happened in New Zealand and the, you know, with cyclone
- 13:33Gabriel and the Auckland floods and all this catastrophe that's happening in the world at the
- 13:38moment, I think it's like now more than ever, we need to be super, super conscious of not only
- 13:43we were investing our money, but also how we're consuming things. And, you know, the fact that
- 13:48Audi is going to be carbon neutral by 2050, because of their fully electric range is going to be
- 13:54amazing. And you feel even more proud driving a car like that, definitely. A hundred percent.
- 14:00And so when we created the savings calculator, we also, because I did the calculator and I was
- 14:05like, amazing. Now I know how long it's going to take me to get there. And then I was like,
- 14:09Victoria, can you please come up with some more tips and tricks. So you've created a, it's almost
- 14:18like a downloadable, isn't it? A couple of pages. Yes, yeah. So it's all well and good being like,
- 14:22cool, save $100 a month. You're like, hey, well, how? How do I do that? And so we've come up with
- 14:29a little downloadable, which has got about seven kind of savings tips, sorry, non-vecning tips,
- 14:35savings tips, which will help you achieve your goal much faster. And the first one is set a goal,
- 14:42which we've done with the savings calculator. What if that goal may be with time at holiday,
- 14:47wedding, pet, I don't know, you dress, you need. And then the second one is get rid of debt. Now,
- 14:55debt can hold you back so much and really, really be a handbrake on you achieving your investing
- 15:03goal. So it's really important to pay that off first. And there is good debt and bad debt.
- 15:07So good debt is something that helps you grow your wealth. So a mortgage, for example, a student
- 15:12loan and then bad debt is like credit card debt or a personal loan, that kind of stuff. So you
- 15:20really need to pay that off first. And then the third tip is to pay future you first. And that's
- 15:30all around making sure you're contributing to future you. So don't forget about what you're
- 15:37going to need in the future when you're retired and you're not earning. So even if that's reduced
- 15:41slightly because the cost of living is gone, absolute bananas lately. But make sure you're always
- 15:47thinking about future you. And so set up an automatic payment, get that out of the way before
- 15:52you're even thinking about. And so is that retirement money? So is that taking money out of your
- 15:57paycheck every month and making sure that you're contributing it so that when you're not earning?
- 16:01Yes. Yeah. Yeah. And then another tip is you don't have to go to Europe every year on
- 16:07European holiday. Interesting. That's cool. That's a good idea.
- 16:14And so it's take a staycation because we all know like, times can be stressful, work can get
- 16:21buy a tea. Go to a park. Yeah. Go and go and chill out. I have a staycation. You know,
- 16:27go go stay to friends place. Accommodations really expensive. I think if you take that element out
- 16:33of a holiday and make things up cheaper, doesn't it? Yeah. And airfares are really expensive. So,
- 16:38you know, take a look in your backyard. They want to feel like it should be an ad for tourism
- 16:42New Zealand. No, but I think it's true. And this is what I was thinking about recently, you know,
- 16:46because I was lucky enough to have a London last year for a few months. And London's amazing.
- 16:51And Europe's amazing. And there's so many beautiful restaurants and cafes. And I remember coming
- 16:56home and being like, oh, there's kind of only four or five restaurants here. But then I was like,
- 17:00you know what? Europe and London don't have New Zealand in their backyard. And that is actually
- 17:05the beauty of living here. It's making the most of the hike. It's making the most of all the
- 17:09beautiful outdoors and not trying to live that bougie city lifestyle in New Zealand. Yeah.
- 17:16Yeah. So it's kind of rediscover your backyard. And look at your bills. Now, this is tip number five.
- 17:22And this can be quite a game changer. You know, a lot of us are probably sitting with the same
- 17:28utility company, the same electricity company, the same phone company for years and years and years.
- 17:32So it's almost like shop around. You know, give them a call and be like, hey, do you have any
- 17:36deals at the moment? Can I need to swap or like? Be a bill slump. Yeah. Literally be for
- 17:40the risk. Yes. Shop around. Sleep around. But yeah, it's like you're not kind of stuck with one
- 17:49provider. So shop around and you'll be quite surprised what you can save. And the sixth one is
- 17:53pack your lunch, which I love doing. Oh, and we've just done a thing with Miss Polly's kitchen.
- 17:58Yes. Which is all about like it's a downloadable menu where there's heaps of different recipes
- 18:03that are on a budget. And one of them is delicious, affordable lunch prep. Yes. So no excuses.
- 18:10That's an Instagram bio if you want to download it. Because you can actually save so much money
- 18:15for making your lunch at home. And it's like, yeah, it's because you've got to be organized.
- 18:20And I've been very unorganized. Yeah. It does take a bit of time. But it is, you can save,
- 18:26you can save so much by packing your own lunch. So you might think, oh, you know, it's only $20
- 18:32on snacks here and there. Or it's only one coffee a day. Or but if you annualise that and you
- 18:39figure out how much that is, I think it'll be below a lot of people's minds. That's actually a really
- 18:43good one. Yeah. Scary. But what is like $15 a day times? Oh, I don't do this to a whole year.
- 18:51Well, I'm just thinking lunch wise, even if you get sushi, which is reasonably cheap, you time
- 18:55that by every day. So if you're buying your lunch at $14 a day. 14 times seven. That's $2,600 a year.
- 19:04And then I think if you were to invest that in Compounder and think about how much that would be
- 19:08wild. That's probably a year of saving for my Audi eTron. Yes. And that's the great thing is that,
- 19:15you know, if your goal is five years or longer, so say you want to buy an Audi in six years,
- 19:21if you invest that money that you're also saving, you might be able to achieve that in five years
- 19:26or you might end up getting a whole lot more at the six year period. So therefore you can buy
- 19:31it even nicer eTron. Or you know, like it's yeah, investing really helps you accelerate what
- 19:37were you trying to get to by investing in the stock market. And so on the savings calculator when
- 19:41you use it, there is the option to click do you plan on investing your savings yes or no. And I
- 19:46think a lot of people probably initially click no because they're like oh, it's good. Yes. Yeah.
- 19:50But if you try and you use it and you say no and then you see how long it's going to take you
- 19:55and how much you need to contribute a month. And then you click yes. It's really interesting to see
- 20:00how much quicker you can reach that savings goal. The caveat with that is that it's only four long
- 20:05term goals. Totally. You're not going to be investing for three months time to buy some underwear.
- 20:11It's hope you can afford it. You're under here. Well, it's just underwear is quite expensive.
- 20:15Nice underwear. Yeah. And how good do you feel wearing nice underwear? Yeah. But the other day
- 20:20was like oh god, I never wear a matching underwear. And I thought that is so sexy to be constantly
- 20:26wearing matching sets. I wish I was there. Not yet. I mean, sometimes I have really comfortable
- 20:32matching sets. It also made me think god for your birthday one year I got you a nice pair of
- 20:36underwear. I like it. But I didn't get a matching bra because I couldn't afford both and I thought
- 20:41I wonder if she wears them. I do. I definitely do. Yeah. Okay. And so with those tips,
- 20:46people can download them once they've used the savings calculator, right? Yeah. At the end,
- 20:51I think it says see me the tips or something. Yeah. So we'll split out how much you need to
- 20:54contribute per month to reach your savings goal. And then you could be like help. How do I actually
- 20:59save that much? So then we'll send you your savings tips. A little Bible. Yeah. Yeah. Okay,
- 21:07amazing. And we also have some exciting news which we announced yesterday, but in case
- 21:12someone missed it on socials. So when we started this partnership with Audi, they said we're
- 21:18going to give you guys an Audi e-tron to drive. Can I just stop you there? Yep. Give you guys an
- 21:24Audi e-tron. Do you mean the fact that I see guys instead of girls or the fact that we said to
- 21:29plural and I'm the only one using it? Yeah. So I had a friend the other day and she was like so when
- 21:34do you get the e-tron? And I was like I had it for a week and she was like but soft gets it for
- 21:38like ages. I was like yes. I think I will take that bone and pick that bone with soft thank you.
- 21:45In my defense, in my defense, you already have an Audi and I have a ship box and by swapping,
- 21:50I have to pay for petrol and your gala's poor. No, but it's a nice car. I want it. Okay,
- 21:56that's cool. We can take this offline. Yeah, we'll tell you what I'm sorry about that. But the good
- 22:01news is is that we have decided so they said to us you can use the car for five months because
- 22:07they're sponsoring our podcast The Curve Weekly. Amazing. We love it. Yep. And we thought how cool
- 22:13would it be for someone else to have a go at driving it, not Victoria. But someone in the
- 22:17curve community to be able to also have that visualization. So for me driving this car, I cannot
- 22:24explain to you how it's amazing. And yes, but also how motivated I am to now save and stick to
- 22:32that goal. And until your point earlier about visualization, whether you're saving for a new coffee
- 22:37machine, put a photo up in your kitchen, if you're saving for new clothes, put some photos up in
- 22:42your wardrobe, whatever it is, visual aid. I tell you what is so good. It's like manifesting your
- 22:48manifesting everyday to jump at the car. Yeah, exactly. And then I get in the car and I think,
- 22:52oh, I don't have to use headphones to drive and listen to music. Which by the way, extremely
- 22:56dangerous. There's no bumper falling off this car. I don't know what's going to pull over and kick
- 23:01the bumper in. You know, I'm not embarrassed to have friends in my car. Do you know my favourite
- 23:06feature? What? It's when you sit in and the seatbelt, like you start driving for like three
- 23:11seconds and the seatbelt just tightens a little bit. And it's like a little hug. And then you just
- 23:15feel so safe. You're like, oh, that's right. Yes, thank you. I'm in there. Yeah, I'm secure.
- 23:20I love the key feature. I love that if I've got like, if I'm the bag lady and I've got
- 23:2517 bags and I can't find my keys, it still knows that I'm near it and opens and you don't have to
- 23:31put the keys in the ignition or anything. It just starts. Yeah. Yeah, that's nice.
- 23:36Must be careful to not lose the keys. Oh my god. The other thing that I love is I'm actually
- 23:40I hope Audi is not listening to this podcast, but I'm not the world's best driver, to be honest.
- 23:45And all of the sensors it beeps at you and you're like, quite close to things. I can't go into
- 23:52anything because it's called to like, beep beep beep. That happened to me. I beep beep beep beep.
- 23:56I said listen to Audi, but I was backing back and this car was driving like behind me.
- 24:02Like I was backing back into the road out of a car park. And all of a car, all of a sudden the car
- 24:07just stopped and I thought it had something and I was like, oh my gosh. And then I saw this car
- 24:11zoom pass and I was like, and my friend was like, did you not see that car coming? I was like, no.
- 24:15And I was like, whoa, the car just automatically stopped. I was like, saved my life.
- 24:20It's actually very, it's literally so intelligent. Yeah. Yeah. It's one more intelligent thing.
- 24:25I'm going to be like, how on earth? I remember when we picked it up and I was like,
- 24:30it was like, now be careful of the curbs and the lady at Audi Shannon who is awesome was like,
- 24:35there's actually probably no way you'll curb it because there's like reverse. I was like,
- 24:40try me. Yeah. I'm like, well, see about that Shannon. Oh, did all this funny the other day,
- 24:48we were in someone else's car and I was, I went to lift the boot up and I pressed the button
- 24:54and then just stood back and it didn't automatically open and I was like, sorry.
- 24:58I'm so used to the Audi e-tron. So anyway, the point of this is that somebody in our community
- 25:08is going to get the chance to drive this for a tire. Oh, man, what can I win?
- 25:13So we'll just turn Victoria's microphone off. No, so someone is going to get to drive it. So
- 25:19rather than us having it for an extra month, we thought, how cool would it be for someone
- 25:23else who's trying to save? And to be honest, even if your savings goal isn't a car,
- 25:27you can still win this. It's not like you have to be saving specifically for a car, but
- 25:30I'm so going to enter. You're not allowed to win, baby. Damn it. It's a, it's a conflict of interest,
- 25:35I would say. Imagine if it just gets to the car and it just skies every time, like sunnies and a
- 25:41hat and a bean. Yeah, I'll just get my sister and my mum and my dad to all enter the drawer.
- 25:46I mean, so I can enter the drawer. Oh my god, your dog cannot win the car.
- 25:51No, no, no, sorry. So the way that you can enter is we're doing this in collaboration with
- 25:56the Denison. So you can enter through their website. We'll put a link in our Instagram bio.
- 26:00And we're also going to throw in. Oh, yes. Two seats to the curved classroom for the next intake
- 26:07that we have in September, which is an amazing, looks slightly biased, but it is an amazing six-week
- 26:16investment course all about, you know, growing, growing your savings, building a investing portfolio,
- 26:22and it includes exclusive podcast episodes, live Q and A's with me.
- 26:27I'm going to try. Oh, sorry, you're going to try. Yeah, coming along.
- 26:30A personalized budgeting savings tracker, which is. That's actually a new section, because we
- 26:35we definitely last time we did the curved classroom, we didn't have that, and it felt like we
- 26:39needed a personal savings element, especially with what's going on in the current environment.
- 26:44Lots of us don't know even how to save our budget. So we've definitely, we've included that too.
- 26:48We've created a really awesome track, like track up your expenses and budgeting tool.
- 26:54But you'll have access to the course if you're sending them going, oh, but September,
- 26:56I'm away on holiday or I'm having a baby or whatever, you can do it whenever.
- 27:02You do get lifetime access to the course, which is amazing, because life gets hectic.
- 27:07It does. So you can enter either. We'll put a link in our show notes for this podcast as well
- 27:12as in our Instagram bio, but essentially you enter through the dinners and website.
- 27:15And we're going to be drawing that on the third of March. So you've got about a week to enter.
- 27:22If you're listening to this and the competition's already been in gone, because this is what are we?
- 27:28February 2023. You can still go online to the curve.co.nz, use our savings calculator. You can still
- 27:34get those savings tips that Vic talked about. But unfortunately, you will have missed the chance to
- 27:39win a car, which is very exciting. Also, anyone that's listening would know that we don't just
- 27:47align with any brands, like we, we're pretty careful on the people that we work with. And
- 27:52the number of times, we're like, oh, so no, it's just, just do that. Just take the money.
- 27:57We don't do it often, actually. And when we do it, it's when it feels right. So we feel very proud
- 28:01to be doing this competition and to be working with Audi on this. So, you know, it does, it is a
- 28:08hashtag plug, but it's something we're quite proud of. Yes, very, very proud of.
- 28:12Now, you've got to get to work. Yes. I need to go and have a coffee.
- 28:18Yep. As you can tell, I can't even finish that sentence. Yep, you sure do.
- 28:23Progress is part of Audi's DNA. And as a brand, they're leading the way in premium electric mobility
- 28:30with their fully electric Audi eTron range. Thanks so much to Audi for sponsoring this podcast. And
- 28:35if you haven't already, check out our savings calculator that we've created together to help
- 28:39you reach your savings goals. It's at thecurve.co.nz.
