- 0:31Hello and welcome to the National Security Hour.
- 0:34Thank you for joining us on the mission.
- 0:37The National Security Hour is the tip of the spear in the epic battle to defend the United States of America.
- 0:42I'm Brandon Weikert, your friendly neighborhood host.
- 0:46You can catch me right here every single Wednesday night at 8 p.m.
- 0:51Eastern.
- 0:52And you can follow me at We the Brandon on Twitter X.
- 0:56Good ones.
- 0:56This is another war update.
- 0:58We're going into, I think month two now of the 96-hour war.
- 1:04And uh with the Islamic Republic of Iran, we have uh supposedly replaced the regime in Iran, uh, the Islamic Republic with the Islamic Republic.
- 1:14So we're doing that Afghanistan thing again.
- 1:16And we are now joined by friend of the show, former missile defense agency uh leader, uh former or or current member of the EMP task force uh and the the editor and author of the real war substack, really solid stuff there, uh David Pine.
- 1:34David, it's great to have you here.
- 1:35Hey, Brandon, it's great to be with you.
- 1:38Uh unfortunately it's it's another Middle East war, it looks like uh here we go again.
- 1:44Uh everything old is new again.
- 1:46Um you have a piece up at your um your substack, the real war.
- 1:52It's called the Iran War is a global conflict that may prove to be the beginning of World War III unless Trump ends it quickly.
- 2:00I happen to agree with you, but I don't think there is a quick end.
- 2:06What do you think about that?
- 2:08Well, I think first of all, you know, we hear from I was just watching uh Fox News, and they're they're talking about the war as an excursion, you know.
- 2:18It sounds like a vacation to me, right?
- 2:20North Korean TV is blushing when they see Fox News.
- 2:25Yeah, probably has nothing on us.
- 2:27Uh, you know, this is all Soviet uh style propaganda or wellian, uh, you know, almost everything we hear from, especially from what I call the Fox News disinformation network is you know, it's basically state state regime TV.
- 2:41And uh, you know, it's that we're winning, uh, you know, uh Iran can't touch us, we have air superiority, uh, they have no missile defenses.
- 2:50Trump stated famously, I think it was on March 14th, we've destroyed 100% of Iran's military capacity.
- 2:56And the truth is that Iran is is not like Iraq.
- 2:59It's a great it's a great power.
- 3:01And how do I define great power?
- 3:02It's uh a country with nuclear weapons.
- 3:05Uh you've you've stated as well your belief that Iran has a modest arsenal of nuclear weapons.
- 3:10I also assess they likely have 15 to 60 nuclear weapons in their silos, mobile uh MRBMs, IRBMs, uh, that we probably haven't touched.
- 3:20So, you know, Trump can send special forces uh, you know, to try to steal all their uh highly enriched uranium.
- 3:27It's not going to touch what they already have.
- 3:30So uh this is a it's a great power war with the near-peer uh adversary.
- 3:34Uh the U.S.
- 3:35Navy has been uh humiliated, unable to contest control of either the Persian Gulf or the Strait of Hormuz.
- 3:43We have uh an F-15E that was shot down uh over Iran uh near Karg Island.
- 3:48Um there's a lot of indicators, as you've uh stated on your uh podcast interviews that uh Trump may be uh uh invading Karg Island this weekend, as early as this weekend, or uh very soon thereafter.
- 4:03We have uh a whole uh you know ready brigade of the 82nd Air Board that's uh been mobilized.
- 4:10We've had we've had the nine of the low knives with the Heggseth firing three army generals uh uh reportedly because they uh they opposed uh you know this operation is as uh you know extremely risky and reckless with the lives of thousands of our uh brave U.S.
- 4:26Army uh fired the chaplain, the head chaplain of the army.
- 4:31I mean, like Mr.
- 4:33Mr.
- 4:34Christian Zionist doesn't like uh the head chaplain of the army.
- 4:38Because as the Pope has stated, this uh this war is being fought in uh blatant uh violation of Christian principles.
- 4:45That's right.
- 4:45Uh, you know, I mean, we're not at the this the World War II stage where we're uh annihilating entire cities either with conventional, you know, firebombing uh or atomic bombings.
- 4:54But uh I can see a there.
- 4:56It could be too much.
- 4:57Because Trump Trump stated we want to bomb Iran into the stone age at his uh presidential address uh a couple uh a couple days ago, and he's he did that uh, you know, stating that um we want to destroy Iran as a country so it can never rebuild.
- 5:12And and what is that really?
- 5:14Uh he's talking about genocide, essentially.
- 5:16He wants to kill uh not indirectly, but indirectly, millions of Iranians uh uh in the hopes that they'll uh all the loss of life and the and the human suffering will cause them to overthrow their Islamist regime.
- 5:28And uh as we know from history, uh they don't have the ability to do that because Iran um the Islamist regime has too many too many troops, it has too much control over their over their country, there's no armed resistance.
- 5:41So as Trump was reading from the list of of uh the new dumbed down uh you know military objectives in Iran, uh it it was I it was notable that uh he hasn't uh achieved any of them.
- 5:53I th I heard that there were five that he talked about.
- 5:56Uh there was regime change, it was destroying the Air Force, destroying the Navy, destroying their missile force, destroying their war industries.
- 6:03Uh, you know, at best, he's achieved uh 50% of those objectives, uh, nowhere nearer to completion.
- 6:11I would actually argue he's not even 50% of the way there, and I think that it's very interesting that last Sunday, um, at the end of March, Marco Rubio, the Secretary of Everything, was on the Sunday news shows telling everybody that really the president could wrap this up now in Iran because we've destroyed the Iranian Air Force and the Navy.
- 6:34As if that was ever a concern.
- 6:38The Air Force of Iran, it was all third generation warplanes aging on the tarmac.
- 6:44Uh, and the the Iranian Navy, first of all, has not been totally destroyed.
- 6:50The Iranian Navy still has multiple unconventional capabilities.
- 6:54They've got thousands of speed boats that have never been bombed.
- 6:58And uh they've got the um they've got the midget submarines that they could be lurking on the bottom of the Strait of Hormuz, waiting for some enterprising marine expeditionary unit to try to meander its way uh through uh through the Strait of Hormouth on its way to Carg Island.
- 7:17So, David, I I don't even know if we're 50% of the way there.
- 7:22We might be 20%, 25%.
- 7:25Um you think that this is a world war.
- 7:31I think it's a world war.
- 7:33What exactly does that mean?
- 7:35Because while it's bad, it's not looking like World War II at this point.
- 7:40What what should we expect to be coming down the line?
- 7:44How is this going to hit us at home?
- 7:47Let me let me be clear.
- 7:49I don't believe we're in World War III yet, but but I believe that this war will not end until it morphs into World War III.
- 7:55So if you look at historians will look back, just like you know, whether it was uh, you know, the the Austrian declaration of war on Serbia, it wasn't a world war then, it was just a regional war.
- 8:05It was the third Balkan War member Korea.
- 8:07Right, right.
- 8:08Within days it became a world war because when Britain declared war on Germany, on I think it was uh August 4th, 1914.
- 8:16So uh I don't think we're days away from expanding to for uh you know a Chinese invasion of Taiwan or uh a North Korean invasion of South Korea, but I think that's very possibly uh you know, six months in our future.
- 8:29I would be not uh unsurprised at all uh if if that's what happens in October.
- 8:35Um so I think that uh yeah, I think that this uh you know Trump talked about two to three weeks.
- 8:41You know, he's not de-escalating the war.
- 8:43If you want to end a war, you de-escalate.
- 8:45I mean, we look at what he talked about.
- 8:47He's been trying so if for weeks and months he tried to get uh Russia to agree to a 38 ceasefire.
- 8:53He tried to get them to agree to uh a cease, you know, a ceasefire in the air, a ceasefire at sea.
- 8:59Uh, there are all these uh measures to try to de-escalate the war.
- 9:03Instead, he's talking about total war.
- 9:05He's talking about a massive strategic bombing campaign to take out their other power plants, their their oil uh refineries.
- 9:13Uh he's hit uh uh you know desalinization plants, he's hit uh uh medical research centers, uh, all of these things you would see uh either in a long-term strategic air campaign or in the run-up to a full-scale invasion.
- 9:27And so uh I totally agree with you that you know, uh, while he had a chance to uh wind down the war, and he could do so if he if he accepted largely accepted Iranian peace terms today.
- 9:38Uh I see this war going on for many months and and probably well into next year.
- 9:43In a way, he can't accept the Iranian peace terms because he has made himself so intractable on the issue of Iran, and it's so convoluted what he's trying to achieve.
- 9:59Clearly.
- 10:00He didn't start this war.
- 10:01It was the Israelis.
- 10:04I just feel like there's there's no way that he could possibly negotiate because what are we negotiating?
- 10:12You know, so that's that's my only concern here, uh, which is why I say we go up the escalation ladder.
- 10:18Now, do you believe that we are stuck in an escalation trap?
- 10:23I absolutely uh believe that.
- 10:25Yeah, I think that uh you know Trump's given every indication he's gonna keep escalating, keep tumbling down, he's gonna probably drop uh, you know, an 82nd Air Force Brigade on Carg Island.
- 10:35Uh, you know, those are those troops are gonna be uh essentially hostages.
- 10:40You know, he he views Karg Island as kind of the way he gets out of this mess because he feels like if he uh takes down 90% of Iran's uh oil production, then he can trade that for uh you know to get horse Iran to accept his 15-point peace plan.
- 10:55But I think it's likely to go in the other direction.
- 10:57I think as one of your your uh your Navy SEAL guests uh on your show uh last week stated, or maybe it was uh two or three weeks ago, um, that uh you know essentially they'll be hostages uh that Iran will take because we won't be able to rescue them.
- 11:12We won't be able to extricate them, but they'll be bombard bombarded with heavy artillery, 16 miles from the Iranian mainland, uh combat drums, missile fire, uh unreforceable, uh any Navy ships that try to, you know, the USS Tripoli or USS Boxer that try to navigate the Strait of Hormoes will likely be sunk.
- 11:29Uh it may be that Iran will let them all pass, and then once they're all the way in the west, uh, you know, in the far west of the Gulf uh start sinking them uh as they're they're trapped and unable to escape.
- 11:41So uh yeah, I do think this is gonna get escalate, but but I really do think that um, you know, the solution is is what Trump stated.
- 11:49He said we're gonna pull out in two to three weeks.
- 11:52Uh, you know, some some uh reports said pull out of Iran.
- 11:54Obviously, we don't have any troops in Iran.
- 11:56But if we were if he were to simply announce uh, you know, we're not gonna make make a peace deal with Iran, we're gonna pull all our troops out of out of the Middle East.
- 12:04I don't think Iran, I think Iran would let us do it if if they saw us, you know, seriously pulling out tens of thousands of troops.
- 12:12I think they would uh you know, kind of implement a ceasefire to let us do it.
- 12:17But the problem is is we're flowing in tens of thousands of troops, you know.
- 12:21It's it and I was just told two days ago Nevada Air National Guard is now deployed to I mean you're they're deploying air, they're National Guard units.
- 12:30That means this is going to be a much deeper a deeper commitment.
- 12:34This is not de-escalation.
- 12:36And um maybe you can confirm this.
- 12:38I have heard unconfirmed that the USS Gerald R.
- 12:42Ford did leave Croatia.
- 12:45It is now underway, and it is going to remain in the CENTCOM area of responsibility, indicating to me that we're gonna have now three carriers because they're moving, I think it's the George H.W.
- 12:56Bush uh into the region.
- 12:58That again to me is is escalatory.
- 13:01And you really think that, and you see, this is what I've been trying to go back and forth with other guests and with in my own mind.
- 13:08Uh, you know, some people are saying carg island's the point that of landing, and certainly that two-seater F uh 15 strike eagle was shot down.
- 13:17Clearly they were in that part of Iran.
- 13:20But then I'm also hearing other positions like I think it's Kashem Island, uh other ones, another one is the naval base along the Gulf of Oman in Balochistan.
- 13:32But then you keep hearing, I keep hearing from insiders that Trump is really fixated on this Tom Clancy ghost recon run-in-gun uranium hunt.
- 13:43Um which one do you think is the most likely landing if Trump does actually pull the trigger on putting troops in?
- 13:50I think Karg Island because uh Kashmir Island is only one mile from Iran.
- 13:54I mean, it's basically Iranian mainland territory.
- 13:56Yeah.
- 13:57You know, so uh they they could they could reinforce that with uh you know small boats.
- 14:02But Karg also is uh is is very near.
- 14:04It's within the killbox of uh the the Iranian um Shah Head drones, isn't it?
- 14:09It is absolutely 16 miles away from uh Iranian mainland.
- 14:13So it's not much of a difference, you know.
- 14:15But uh either one is is treacherous, but per perhaps even more treacherous uh is the idea of inserting thousands of special forces uh to try to dredge up uh uh you know the highly enriched uranium, which can which is likely scattered at at least a dozen sites throughout Iran that we likely don't know about.
- 14:33So it this is you know, uh this is like an uh uh the Iraqi uh WMD fishing expedition.
- 14:39It took us uh a full year of uh you know, full occupation of all of Iraq's territory uh to decide that uh Iraq didn't didn't have any weapons of mass destruction after all, which if if you had been reading my articles back in 2002, uh I'd I'd said that it was uh probably 90 percent uh destroyed by by Saddam.
- 14:59So uh that was efficient object uh uh expedition.
- 15:03Uh this is kind of the same idea.
- 15:04We know it exists at least, but the idea of uh of trying to you know pull those out with helicopters, you know, with uh uh stealth radars and and advanced Chinese radars that can that can shoot it down.
- 15:15Obviously, they they shot down a fifth F-15 at the edge of their borders.
- 15:19Yeah, uh, but but it you know, deep deep inside Iran, which is a country almost four times larger than Iraq.
- 15:25I think that would be a suicide mission.

- 18:35I also think landing on Karg Island or any of those islands is a suicide.
- 18:39I mean it's Gallipoli.
- 18:40So it's either, you know, Desert One or Operation Eagle Claw going after the nuclear weapons capability in the desert, or it's uh it's Gallipoli.
- 18:53And either way, it's it's an it's a lose for the United States.
- 18:58Um what happens, do you think if we do land and we do you know establish some kind of a foothold, but then the nightmare scenario unfolds.
- 19:12Do you think the Iranians are gonna kill all of our people, or do you think that that you know you said hostage earlier?
- 19:17Do you think that they're gonna want to keep our people alive on those those landing zones so they can barter them away?
- 19:25And would the administration even negotiate?
- 19:27I mean, what is Trump's mentality at this point?
- 19:30Yeah, so what I posted about a week ago is this would be kind of the Carg Island hostage crisis.
- 19:37Uh I'm old enough to remember, I know you're not, but I'm old enough to remember that the hostage crisis Iran back in 1979.
- 19:44I was a paper boy, and I'd read the news or the news front page every day.
- 19:48I think I was like 10 years old.
- 19:50But uh it was uh uh it it would be that situation.
- 19:53I I think that you know, all the news networks would uh bombard American viewers with uh you know our uh four.
- 20:00thousand or probably you know three or two or three thousand troops that are stranded on Carg Island.
- 20:04They're getting killed and wounded every day by Iranian Iranian uh missile and artillery strikes and we're you know we send in ships every ship we try to send in to try to reinforce them or you know uh the light infantry troops get get sunk um you know I I think that I don't think Iran could kill all of them uh but but they could you know certainly uh you know we'd be losing dozens and perhaps you know dozens of troops a day uh hundreds of casualties uh it could be you know I've talked talked about the possibility of us losing more troops in a single day than we lost in 20 years of the Afghan war so uh we're talking uh almost a couple that you know nearly two thousand dead potentially uh within within a week because you know one one ship with uh 2500 Marines and crew you know the uh the triple E or the Boxer uh being sunk and uh you know with uh most of the the the troops not and sailors not being rescued I mean that would be a disaster that we we simply haven't seen since probably Pearl Harbor and so do we at that point abandon the region or do we go up the escalator do we start talking about I don't know you know nuclear exchange or I mean what where where does that go yeah I mean uh the problem is that and and this is the reason why you know all modern day presidents except for Trump didn't want to fight a war with Iran is Iraq even Obama had enough foresight to tell Netanyahu to shove it we we refuse to give the friend and foe codes to to uh to Israel to fly over Saudi Arabia and Iraq uh you know from even George W.
- 21:45Bush refused to do it uh Obama Biden every president uh Trump wouldn't do it during his first term Trump was adamant that he didn't want to embroil us in a war with Iran you know you might recall that after he killed uh Soleimani um uh Iran Iran retaliating with this you know uh uh shooting missiles at uh one of our bases in Iraq uh with like a hundred plus casualties yeah uh some of them like pretty severe in terms of brain injuries um and uh you know he he was uh being baited by his advisors you know we need to strike Iran directly with a a massive bombing strike to teach him a lesson and and he he didn't want to do it uh so um I think that uh you know I mean a rational president would do the Reagan route and said okay we lost 241 Marines at in in Beirut and the the car bombing we're pulling out we're gonna invade Grenada first president would do but president Trump is no longer America first so I think he'd be much more likely to say okay we're gonna escalate we're gonna you know let's look at tactical nuclear weapons uh let's invade the uh Iranian coastline let's commit uh several army divisions I mean uh he hasn't even ruled out the draft well I know that yes uh could the army even achieve a landing into Iran I mean it doesn't seem like the army is really structured right now to do more than these 80 second airborne landings and that's kind of a stretch I mean I see a lot of marine expeditionary units I don't know what army capabilities are being brought to bear and that would take longer wouldn't it well you got to remember Iraq is on pay at least on paper it's uh a military ally with Iran they signed a defense pact uh years ago uh we of course the Bush uh famous infamously uh handed over uh Iraq to Iran by allowing them to steal the 2005 national elections and their proxies have controlled it ever since so um Iraq would you know uh would have to logically give its permission for the U.S.
- 23:48to even stage a massive ground defensive and they wouldn't you know there's no way they they they would do that so where do you there's no other uh safe point to invade from uh you know uh Iran's yeah we could land uh you know several marine expeditionary units uh on the Iranian coast assuming they even got to the coast because you know Iran has hundreds uh likely thousands of anti-ship missiles supersonic uh you know hypersonically mines as well anti-ship ballistic missiles I mean mines submarines they as you mentioned they have at least three hundred uh missile boats with missiles anti-ship missiles that are supersonic and and have a uh a range of 350 kilometers they have 25 diesel submarines that are likely still around 26 patrol boats they have drone boats they have yeah mines uh so there's uh this would be this isn't like a D Day operation where we have overwhelming air and naval supremacy over the enemy uh you know this this would be uh you know it it would just it would be much worse than Gallipoli much worse than Gallipoli that is um and if we did uh invade from Iraq into Iran we would be replicating the 1980 uh Iraqi experience with the Iran Iraq war which is considered one of the bloodiest conflicts in the 20th century and uh it ended with human wave attacks by the Iranians children of Iran nine year old 12 year old children overrunning the Iraqi positions on the front um do you think we're headed toward a repeat of the Iran Iraq war with the United States playing the role of uh Saddam Hussein's Iraq in this fight um I I just think it's it's uh we'd have a lot more generals resigning if that if that was given you know the entire United States army and reserves uh would be 1.15 million troops uh obviously we have uh global commitments we're not gonna do that uh we definitely would you know would see the draft we'd have the 10th mountain division we'd have all kinds of uh mobilization uh of the reserves my my son-in-law is a marine reservist in Arizona he received uh a letter from uh the commanding general of the uh Marine Corps uh South uh you know reserves and and other marine corps forces saying to be ready be ready to to be mobilized it's coming so uh yeah we we have uh Trump on on one end he's saying two to three weeks and uh but everything else he's saying is uh you know we're fighting this war to completion he he said we need to honor the dead finishing the mission and when he said that you know Robert Pape and and you and me uh were saying you know kind of concluded that this is this is true he's committed meaning that that this is a long war yeah uh it's not ending until we achieve each and every one of our objectives however impossible that might be that's not all that he said either he also compared this war and he said this has been much shorter than the Korean war and the second world war and you know I was on Bannon's show with Eric Bowling who of course his original career was in finance and uh he was explaining basically the moment that Trump said that the oil prices just went through the roof because all the all the oil guys realized uh oh he's talking about Korea he's talking about World War II he's talking about let's finish the job to honor the dead that isn't de-escalation at all and so and he's moving the A10s he's got a 10 warthogs he's deploying he's got a H 64 Apaches these are close air support systems they're designed to to overfly our troops on the ground and you know provide whatever kind of overhead uh coverage they can you know with with with weapons um it to me that I'll tell you what this is like uh and and feel free to comment on it that this to me reminds me of a grotesque combination of Gallipoli the Battle of Aya Drang and the 65 and um potentially Desert One or Operation Eagle Claw all kind of rolled into one toxic package and we all know where this ends it doesn't end well um so uh there what we see the generals three of them have been removed the U.S.
- 28:25on the U.S.
- 28:26side including the chief of staff of the army including the chief of the staff that was a big one and don't forget before the war began 24 hours before the war began General Grayson Kane had his meeting with the president where he I am told basically said what you've been saying he briefed the president and at one point he looked at the president and said Mr.
- 28:47President I don't think you're listening to me and Trump wasn't listening to him I'm gonna I'll put money on that he probably wasn't listening to a word that was being said um because he can't handle negative negative statements.
- 29:00And then two hours after that meeting Vice Admiral Fred Kotcher you know leaked that meeting to the I think it was to Reuters um what's going to happen now that these generals are removed because clearly they these admirals and generals were opposed so who who's going to replace them well we already know that uh you know Heges uh former I think his former um chief of staff or military assistant you know uh uh was promoted to re uh replace uh you know General George on an INRA basis so basically I mean he's I hate to hate to call uh uh the four star general a lapdog but essentially he's uh you know he's uh Higgs man and he's he's a yes man he's gonna do whatever Higgs uh says and uh says he say he agrees and and uh salute and follow orders and and you know I mean obviously these aren't illegal orders being issued uh we know that uh Hegzef fired the uh the commanding Jag officers of uh
- 30:00Of all of the uniform services because he supports war crimes.
- 30:04And on record, you know, say that.
- 30:06And every speech he gets, you know, whether it's negotiated by bombs or you know, bomb the bomb the men of the Stone Age, or you know, there's all kinds of things that he said and done that would indicate that he is uh either guilty of war crimes or he is uh wanting to perpetrate perpetrate worse war crimes.
- 30:22Uh so uh, you know, uh I'm not sure what the military can do.
- 30:26What are what our um you know military commanders can do.
- 30:29Obviously, uh General Kane has uh at least uh publicly he's been supportive of uh of this um uh great power war, as I call it.
- 30:37Uh but uh you're absolutely right.
- 30:39He uh he did uh reportedly uh object to it very uh strenuously uh outlining all the the risks of everything that that uh Iran is done that that Trump says he was never told could happen, or things I think that the National Intelligence Council and the report published, I think it was on uh February uh 21st or thereabouts uh given to the president, all of the the uh, you know, obviously Tulsa Gabbert, the director of national intelligence and all of our other, I think 16 or 17, you know, 17 total U.S.
- 31:09intelligence services agreed that this was a bad idea.
- 31:12General Kane said it was a bad idea, and Trump did it anyway.
- 31:18I it's just it's I I I hear this, I knew this, but then I hear it from someone else like yourself, and it's just it's just shocking that we're in this position.
- 31:28I can't even think about what what would I possibly ask next.
- 31:33Um it it the the idea that the president who campaigned on no no new war says the the guy who's getting us into the beginnings of World War III is it's really shocking.
- 31:45Um so there's gonna be no real pushback.
- 31:48We're we're determining there's no real pushback to this from within uniformed military circles.
- 31:54Clearly, there's been a whisper campaign.
- 31:56You know, I'm hearing things from people inside, and they know that I'm a reporter, you know, Reuters and Axios are hearing things, but but the whisper campaign is not working.
- 32:06It's not working.
- 32:08Um what about Congress?
- 32:09What is con where's Congress, my old employer?
- 32:12Where are they in this?
- 32:13Because I feel like they probably should have a say, and it sounds like they're not getting a say.
- 32:18Have you heard anything about what Congress is or might do uh in the run-up to this thing?
- 32:23Because I personally I'm wondering if any of this is constitutional, what he's done starting this war.
- 32:29Yeah, well, first let me say I think it's very telling that it was three army generals that were fired uh because indicating that this may be an start out as an all-army campaign.
- 32:38Because I I've been saying for a couple weeks now that I think uh an airborne uh invasion is is gives the greatest chances of success, getting boots on the ground because the the anti-shit missile uh uh capabilities of Iran are so much greater.
- 32:52So uh I think I think it will likely be a uh an all-airborne or air assault campaign from Kuwait.
- 32:58Uh but in terms of Congress, you're absolutely right.
- 33:00This is an illegal and unconstitutional war.
- 33:02Uh there is a war powers resolution, obviously, but it it has it has very narrowly defined exceptions.
- 33:08It says that if the U.S.
- 33:10is attacked in terms of our territory, our troops, uh, or our citizen, let's see, territory troops or citizens abroad, uh, then we can um I don't think it even says citizens.
- 33:21I think it's it's troops and territory.
- 33:23Uh, you know, if they attack us first, then the president has to the uh commander-in-chief powers uh to respond to those attacks without congressional authorization, but otherwise he needs this specific uh congressional authorization.
- 33:36We know that Iran did not attack the U.S.
- 33:38This was not in res this was not a defensive war.
- 33:41It's a war of it's not a provoked war of aggression.
- 33:43Uh Israel, as you mentioned, went to war first and dragged us into it.
- 33:47They gave us a few to three to seven day days notice.
- 33:50Uh that's why, you know, as it's kind of been an ad hoc operation with no planning for a uh a war that lasts longer than seven days.
- 33:58And so uh, you know, Congress essentially passed a blank check, uh, giving uh giving Trump authority to uh not you know not actual authority, but basically saying you can fight this war indefinitely uh because they shot down the two war powers resolutions that that came up both in the House and the Senate.
- 34:16Um I think that they're obviously opponents of the war or wanting to do that again.
- 34:20I think uh we're gonna see um a crushing of the uh congressional GOP majorities at both houses of Congress in November.
- 34:28So in January, the war will get to funded.
- 34:31Uh I think the Democrats are pretty solid be in in their commitment to do that.
- 34:35Uh and uh uh, you know, Trump will be forced to, you know, uh take action or or end the war within that time frame, I think.
- 34:45Uh and and at that point, uh obviously he'll be uh the war powers resolutions will pass, he'll veto them uh and then he'll get impeached and potentially removed from office.
- 34:55If if we've lost if our casually figures were in the in the five five-figure range, as I anticipate by January, March of next year, I think he he very possibly could be removed from office with the aid of uh 12 or so uh or even 14 uh Senate Republicans.

- 37:21We begin our final segment.
- 37:23And you know, I I know the Democrats, the younger Democrats are very opposed to this war, and I know they're very anti-Israel.
- 37:33But I think it's very interesting.
- 37:36The Democrats, at least from what I've seen, have been pretty muted about now.
- 37:41I think some of that is tactical because they figure the best thing to do is to let Trump, you know, kind of stew in his own guff here.
- 37:48Um, but I'm not sure how much of the Democratic Party's leadership is actually opposed to this war.
- 37:55I mean, you got Chuck Schumer, you've got, you know, the Nancy Pelosi wing.
- 37:59They're they're all pretty old school Zionists.
- 38:03So is there a possibility that they're going to keep their powder dry uh against Trump because he's kind of doing or or do you think that they're gonna say, you know, we're we're we're opposed to this now because you know it's a chance to get rid of Trump, but also they're gonna try to pick up the anti-war mantle.
- 38:22What do you think?
- 38:23I think they're gonna flip the 2024 election on their head.
- 38:25You know, uh one of the reasons I think Trump won uh so many groups, uh young people, independence, was because he was anti-war and the anti-war party in moderate elections typically is victorious.
- 38:36Uh certainly the veterans uh vote for the anti-war party uh typically, I think Obama got uh the largest share, I think, of uh the military vote uh uh but certainly certainly Trump did in the primaries, all the anti-war Republicans did.
- 38:52So uh I think that uh that's um that's really the key.
- 38:58I think uh, you know, uh if they run as the party of peace uh and they they promise to end the war and you know, kind of restore our economy, because we'll like you know, we're we're gonna we're gonna be teetering an economic recession by by November.
- 39:11Well, there's a likely to be a global recession, you know.
- 39:14I mean, the economic and financial consequences uh uh to the U.S.
- 39:18and the world are are very substantial.
- 39:20Uh already.
- 39:20We're already fine.
- 39:21Cost of living is going to go up with food, uh housing, everything.
- 39:25So uh, you know, Trump is in the process of self-destructing politically.
- 39:29Even if even if the U.S.
- 39:30survives this war and uh maybe we're not a conventional military superpower uh for a few years because we got to rebuild our offensive and defensive missile arsenal, but you know, we're still uh obviously we're gonna be a nuclear power if we survive this.
- 39:44I think uh, you know, the Republican Party is is gonna go the way of the Whigs.
- 39:48I mean, for 20 years.
- 39:49Uh this is gonna be a 20 year Democrat majority.
- 39:51If you I'm sure you saw Jesse Kelly's interview on on making uh or just yeah, Jesse Jesse Kelly.
- 39:59Jesse Kelly, the Marine.
- 40:00Yeah.
- 40:00Yeah.
- 40:01Yeah.
- 40:01And uh he uh he talked about on Macon's show that uh you know the communists are going to take over.
- 40:07He talks about the Democrats as the communists and they're gonna be in charge for 20 years, and that's going to be Trump's legacy.
- 40:12And and you know, Trump's basically acting as the Democrats' political savior.
- 40:16Yeah.
- 40:17Uh and uh, you know, I think even Susie Wiles, you know, uh an art at neocon is now now seeing this, and she's trying to encourage everyone to tell uh Trump how bad the economic and political consequences are of continuing this war.
- 40:31And I actually wanted to ask you about this later, but I'm gonna ask you about this now since we're on it.
- 40:36I was surprised when I heard that Susie Wiles was really trying to coax Trump into listening to opposing voices, which is not something she has done.
- 40:47She certainly hasn't done it with the Maha issue, you know, the Make America Healthy Again issue.
- 40:53She hasn't done it on a retinue of issues, but on this issue, um, it must be really bad.
- 41:00And I have heard, and and this is a rumor.
- 41:04I have heard though that Vice President Vance is not going to be running in 2028, that he's quietly decided that he's he's gonna sit it out, um, which is probably smart because I have a feeling whoever's the nominee is not gonna make it.
- 41:20Um better to let Marco go.
- 41:25So yeah, this is gonna be a redux of the the 2032 of presidential election is likely to be a redux of the rather 2028 is gonna be redux of the 2008 election.
- 41:36It's gonna be right.
- 41:38You know, McCain is gonna, you know, whoever is the Republican presidential nominee, it's gonna be the sacrificial land.
- 41:43We're gonna lose by like seven day points.
- 41:46And uh, yeah, I mean I would love to see Vance as the nominee, but you know, if if he loses in a landslide as McCain did, you know, his political days may be over.
- 41:56And you know, so if it's Rubio, uh, then I think that that provides Vance to come in as kind of a savior to a you know minority Republican party that just had a massive loss to Kevin Newsom or whatever it's gonna be.
- 42:10I think it'll be news.
- 42:11I think it's gonna be I think it's gonna be news and Spanberger, that's what I think.
- 42:14Um so let's get back to the war then.
- 42:17Um we're talking about the war over the war.
- 42:20Let's talk about the war now.
- 42:21Um we just had a F-15 strike eagle, that's uh two-seater pilot and a WISO, weapons officer, um, get downed.
- 42:32Uh, don't know yet what the outcome of that is.
- 42:36Uh they were downed in Iran, and it looks like the people on the ground in Iran, we were told were looking to overthrow the regime, David.
- 42:49We were told that we were going to go to war to help them do the heavy lifting.
- 42:54Um, but it looks like the people on the ground were participating in hunting down these two American pilots.
- 43:02And it looks like there are videos now from that region of the US search and rescue uh helicopters getting uh refueled, flying low, and the locals were pulling out the old Persian Mauser rifle and shooting at the helicopters and booing them.
- 43:23So David, what's going on?
- 43:25I thought that all we had to do was uh get rid of the the regime and the people would uh overthrow the regime.
- 43:34It looks like the people are rallying around the regime.
- 43:36What is going on there?
- 43:38Well, if you were to believe President Trump and his acolytes, uh, you know, when we first invaded and took out co uh uh Ali Khomeini, uh, we liberated Iran, you know, on the first day of the war.
- 43:49All we had to do was kill kill Khomeini, and then uh it was regime change.
- 43:52And Trump is even saying that, you know, it's we achieved we didn't want regime change, uh, but we got it anyway.
- 43:59And the new guys are much more moderate, they're much more reasonable, even though they're IRGC, you know, and it's it's really ridiculous.
- 44:05Uh, you know, the IRGC's uh man got chosen as as uh the new Ayatollah uh more in more hard line, uh much less uh reluctant to uh you know accelerate Iran's uh nuclear weapons production uh program.
- 44:20Uh so uh yeah, it's all it's all propaganda.
- 44:23We uh we know that there's been a rally around the flag uh effect.
- 44:26Um when you see the US double tap uh a school of uh uh Iranian uh young girls, elementary school girls, because they happen to be the the daughters of uh Iranian naval officers at a base miles away.
- 44:39Uh, you know, that's certainly uh, you know, that propaganda went like likely went viral within Iran and showed that that we uh we are not the friends uh of the Iranian people.
- 44:49Uh we're not coming to liberate them, we're coming to enslave them to transform uh Iran into a colony, a U.S.
- 44:55Israeli condominium, if you will, uh, to uh take over their oil resources and uh sell them for our profit, as well as to pick their leaders.
- 45:04Uh, you know, those those two statements picking picking Iran's leaders and taking over their oil, that's not liberation.
- 45:10That's that's uh conquest.
- 45:12That's right.
- 45:13Well, and they also are probably looking around and thinking we're gonna get the Libya treatment or the Syria treatment.
- 45:19And who wants that?
- 45:20I mean, really.
- 45:22And speaking of lying, the Intercept has a recent uh came out March 24th, I think was the day.
- 45:33No, I'm sorry, April 1st.
- 45:35Um casualty cover-up.
- 45:38The Pentagon is hiding U.S.
- 45:40losses under Trump in the Middle East.
- 45:42The Pentagon has sent outdated statements on the number of U.S.
- 45:46troops killed or wounded during the Iran war, resulting in undercounts.
- 45:52This is an ongoing controversy.
- 46:05It's actually 300 wounded and 13 dead.
- 46:07Is the is what the that's the official, okay.
- 46:10Yeah.
- 46:10Okay, so then I guess the intercept was saying that it's 700.
- 46:13So what do you think is the reason for this?
- 46:17Is it just bureaucracy or is this information management and how bad do you think it really is if it is just if it is information management?
- 46:27Uh this is definitely a deliberate camp on campaign by both uh President Trump and Secretary War Hicks to conceal the total number of U.S.
- 46:35military casualties to the American public to in a bid to maintain some level of public support.
- 46:41We know that public support is uh has kind of gone up and down.
- 46:44Uh, I think the night of the bombings, it was 27% for the war, uh, then it went up to 44%.
- 46:50Um a couple weeks ago I heard it was 38%.
- 46:53It's probably a lot lower than that now.
- 46:55So uh this is a war that is as this is a war that currently, as it stands today, uh, you know, five weeks in is as popular as the Iraq war, which everyone, at least everyone I know considers to be a massive debacle.
- 47:09So uh as you stated, and not as I've stated as well, you know, the Iraq war, I think had 73% approval uh the day we went in.
- 47:16Uh it took it took 20 years uh to get you know to get that or took 23 years to get down to 36 percent.
- 47:23This war kind of started out, you know, much lower than that.
- 47:27It was, I think initially it was 21%, then 27%, and and we're still around uh 38% or less.
- 47:33So um, you know, this is uh I I just think it's it's very telling uh that that uh you know Trump and Hag Seth or concealing the extent of U.S.
- 47:43military casualties, it shows that uh we're not winning because if we were winning, they would they would have no reason to uh uh to conceal the truth.
- 47:52Well, and it and we had Andre Martinov, who's a Russian military expert, and he lives in the U.S.
- 48:00He's worked for the U.S.
- 48:01defense contractors for years, but he he's you know, he ran me through the basic algorithm that you're supposed to run.
- 48:10And he said, even if we just went off of the two or three hundred figure, he said it's it's at least twice what 13 dead is what they're saying.
- 48:20It's at least double that.
- 48:21If you're really being honest based on the casualty, the wounded, he said there's a there's just a basic arithmetic you do.
- 48:29Um it's and it's gonna get worse if we keep escalating.
- 48:35And and speaking of misleading the public, um, how many times has uh Pollyanna Pete Hegseth said that we had total total air control over Iran, and yet they're on their 91st wave of missile fuselades directed against key targets in the Middle East, and they just shot down an F-15 strike eagle, and they apparently clipped uh special forces UH-60 Blackhawk that I'm told made it back home safely, but it was it was hit and it was damaged.
- 49:13Um around the same area as that strike eagle was taken down.
- 49:17So um what's going on?
- 49:20Are uh do we not have total air control?
- 49:23And and when do we get that?
- 49:25Because I would think we need that before we land troops.
- 49:29Yeah, I think General K, it was just two days ago.
- 49:31He said we finally achieved air superiority over over uh Iran after, you know, over um a month of of of uh waging war.
- 49:40And uh there was uh an article, uh I can't remember what uh what uh news agency published it, but uh it talked about how Higgseth was shocked uh about how effective Iranian strikes were.
- 49:51He he is he was uh one of the key key voices that that told Trump, yeah, we can bomb the crap out of the four four to seven days, and just like the uh the 12-day war.
- 50:00Or they won't.
- 50:00They won't shoot back.
- 50:01And it'll do something, some kind of symbolic attack.
- 50:04And then we can we'll be in control.
- 50:06You know, we have escalation dominance.
- 50:08Well, we can uh we can control when the war ends.
- 50:11If we decide to have a ceasefire seven days in the war, they'll have no choice but to comply.
- 50:16And he was shocked that on day one of the war, they they shot you know four subsonic cruise missiles at the USS Abraham Lincoln and then uh attacked uh uh 11 of our allies in the region, you know.
- 50:27They made it a regional, a major regional conflict on day one of the war.
- 50:31So uh they made clear that and they did everything they said they were gonna do.
- 50:35Everything they everything they've done or things they warned they would do if the US bombed Iran even once.
- 50:42And here we are, a month into the 96 hour war.
- 50:49Um, and it's not going well.
- 50:51I mean, I agree with my friend Andre.
- 50:54I I think we lost the war at the strategic level on day one.
- 50:58I mean, how do you feel about that?
- 51:00Yeah, I wrote uh that's exactly what I wrote.
- 51:02I said, I said Iran's strategic victory is guaranteed.
- 51:05I think I wrote that two weeks before the war, or at least the first few days, uh, for all you know, all the reasons that we know.
- 51:12You know, people that study war for a live living in military uh national security strategy for decades, uh, you know, understand, you know, if you're a realist, uh, you understand the all the all the that Iran has all the cars.
- 51:25I mean, unless we go nuclear, we can certainly do that.
- 51:27We can nuke the crap out of them.
- 51:29And and they uh in our nuclear arsenal uh you know outnumbers theirs hundreds of times over, or perhaps at least dozens of times over.
- 51:36Uh so we can do that.
- 51:38Uh, but uh, you know, I think Iran likely has super EP satellites that can shut down all of our critical infrastructure, unless we've shot those down.
- 51:46There have been uh some, I think you were you're one of the ones that that's uh suggested that uh there might have been some debris in Texas that could have been us shooting those down.
- 51:56And if so, I I I applaud that.
- 51:58Yeah.
- 51:59Because those are uh the most deadliest threat we face from Iran today.
- 52:03And we know, and the reason that I was saying this is because we we've now had a chance to see the Persian mind, strategic mind on display, and they have fail safes for every contingency, right?
- 52:17I mean, they had fail safes.
- 52:19If we clipped Ali Khamani, they had target sets preordained.
- 52:24And so it's logical to assume that they have other higher capabilities that if we do something that they don't like, say knock out their electrical grid or knock out their carg island oil refineries, they will retaliate on some higher level, either with an EMP.
- 52:45Um, or if Israel nukes Tehran, it's very possible Israel's gonna wake up to an Iranian nuke in their face.
- 52:54Um that's why I was saying it is possible we are preemptively targeting suspected Iranian EMP satellites.
- 53:04David, real quick, why don't you tell the audience?
- 53:07I know we've talked about it before, but you're you're on the EMP task force.
- 53:11That's what the book Catastrophe Now behind you is about.
- 53:14You worked with the late great Dr.
- 53:16Peter Pry.
- 53:17Um, why don't you tell the audience briefly what is an EMP and and why is Iran, why were they putting potentially EMP laced satellites above the continental United States in space?
- 53:33Well, uh that's a great question.
- 53:35So EMP is electromagnetic pulse uh is uh you know is an effect that we determined in 1963 with the Starship Prime uh test when uh the lights went out 800 miles away from uh our nuclear tests and why um it's an uh it is uh an after effect of uh an air bursted or uh space bursted um uh low earth orbit uh nuclear detonation.
- 53:59Uh super EMP weapons were designed by um Russia in the 1990s, shared with China and North Korea in the late 1990s, and and what most likely with Iran since then.
- 54:10Uh uh Super AP is essentially uh it's actually it's a nuclear weapon that's uh low yield, but it's specially designed to enhance uh EMP effects.
- 54:19And uh the EMP effects are determined uh for a nuclear weapon, you know, if it's a conventional nuclear weapon, they're less.
- 54:25If it's a super EMP weapon, they're much higher.
- 54:28Uh, but as little as as one super EMP detonation over the center of the center of the United States at a height of around 285 miles, could take out all of our uh critical infrastructure uh within the U.S.
- 54:40That would include uh, you know, our obviously our electric power grid or food distribution system, our water uh purification distribution system, uh, you know, our transportation system, uh everything that we we uh the Americans, 290 million American citizens need to sustain life and uh their quality of life, but perhaps life itself, uh, in order to uh to feed and uh provide water for their families.
- 55:04Uh and so if that were to happen, uh the Congressional EMP Commission assessed in 2000 in their 2008 report that uh uh we could suffer losses up to 90 percent of of American citizens could die within a year from starvation, starvation-related effects, um sicknesses, and as well as civil strife, uh, because uh your neighbors would would uh could certain sudden in a situation where their family is starving to death, they could come into your home and hold you at gunpoint or or even kill you to steal whatever uh scarce food and water resources we you have left.
- 55:39So it would essentially be a civil war, but it wouldn't be two sides, it would be everyone against everyone else, essentially.
- 55:45I just wanted the audience to hear that from someone other than me.
- 55:49Um, because I I think it's very important that I think what these fireballs are as part of part of the Middle East war that we're seeing over Texas and Ohio.
- 55:59Uh and apparently Germany now is seeing them as well.
- 56:03Um I think that there is some shadow boxing in space going on related to the war.
