Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Today's Variety, Big ninety eight point seven. It's Gabe and Angie, and.
- 0:06Speaker 2: We do want to remind you that daylight Saving Time
- 0:09Speaker 2: is this weekend.
- 0:10Speaker 3: You're gonna have to make the clock spring forward. And
- 0:14Speaker 3: it feels like every year we hate this. I'm not
- 0:20Speaker 3: a fan, Gabe.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Yeah, when the clock jumps from two o'clock and then
- 0:25Speaker 1: is like, oh, just kidding, it's actually three, and you
- 0:27Speaker 1: lose that hour sleep. Anybody who has to you know,
- 0:30Speaker 1: i'd say get up anytime before nine am kind of
- 0:34Speaker 1: feels it.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a nightmare. So we wish that this would
- 0:37Speaker 2: be done. So, I mean, British Columbia is already getting
- 0:41Speaker 2: rid of daylight Saving Time. However, I am not a
- 0:44Speaker 2: monster and I am an equal opportunity kind of gal okay,
- 0:50Speaker 2: And so we've got Daylight Saving Time on the phone.
- 0:54Speaker 2: She would like to make her case as to why
- 0:56Speaker 2: we shouldn't rally to get rid of her light saving time.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Are you there?
- 1:01Speaker 4: Hi, y'all, Yes, I'm here and.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Daylight Saving Time? Can I ask just how are you
- 1:06Speaker 1: doing today? I mean, it's a big day coming up
- 1:07Speaker 1: for you. How are you feeling leading up to the
- 1:09Speaker 1: big moment?
- 1:10Speaker 4: Oh, I'm just madder than a wet hand over here
- 1:13Speaker 4: because it seems that everybody is trying to get me fired.
- 1:19Speaker 2: To be fair, I feel like what you do for
- 1:22Speaker 2: work really puts a damper on a lot of us.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Do you want to make a case for yourself as
- 1:28Speaker 2: to why we shouldn't get rid of you because I
- 1:30Speaker 2: don't know?
- 1:31Speaker 4: Okay, Well, people say that I am bad for your health,
- 1:35Speaker 4: but so is everything great in life, like drinking and
- 1:40Speaker 4: smoking and even eating bacon.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I need an example of how you are great for
- 1:45Speaker 2: our lives. Well, everybody loves.
- 1:47Speaker 4: More daylight in the spring, and it's darker earlier in
- 1:52Speaker 4: the winter so that you ladies don't have to shave.
- 1:55Speaker 4: You're welcome for that.
- 1:56Speaker 5: She makes a good point.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I mean, a more light a little more vice them
- 2:00Speaker 1: in d as they might say, I'll tell you what though,
- 2:03Speaker 1: daylight savings time. There is kind of two things you
- 2:05Speaker 1: don't want to mess with, Okay. That's people's money and
- 2:08Speaker 1: that's people's sleep. And I think that's why you know
- 2:11Speaker 1: a lot of people are a little upset with you.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Oh you know what else messes with your sleep patterns? Gabe, babies,
- 2:18Speaker 4: And I know that you happen to have a baby
- 2:20Speaker 4: girl on the way, and are you going to be like,
- 2:23Speaker 4: I hate that baby?
- 2:25Speaker 3: Now you love her?
- 2:26Speaker 2: Okay, So would you have retired earlier if you could.
- 2:30Speaker 2: You've been around for so long. Why aren't you retired?
- 2:35Speaker 4: Honey? I have mouths to feed. I got children, Baby Britney, Bobby, Bertha,
- 2:41Speaker 4: and big Bowl.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Oh that's a lot of kids.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Oh, so many kids. And I've been around for for
- 2:47Speaker 4: just ever, for since the beginning of time.
- 2:50Speaker 2: It feels like, at.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Least for me, I get paid under minimum wage. Why
- 2:55Speaker 4: because I'm not even a real person. I'm more like
- 2:58Speaker 4: just a concept.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Oh that actually does make sense. So if you were
- 3:03Speaker 2: at least making minimum wage, you would have retired by now.
- 3:07Speaker 4: I'd like to think so. But I also work very hard.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You know.
- 3:11Speaker 4: I'm on time every single year, and every time it's
- 3:16Speaker 4: my time to shine, I show up. I'm a hard worker,
- 3:19Speaker 4: and yet still everybody's focused on getting rid of me.
- 3:22Speaker 4: But what about Mother Nature. She's out here, cousin earthquakes,
- 3:26Speaker 4: volcano eruptions, hurricanes, tornadoes, and steel. Everybody's like, oh, Mother
- 3:32Speaker 4: and nature is so beautiful. Why can't I get a
- 3:35Speaker 4: break like that?
- 3:36Speaker 1: I think daylight saving sign. I think she's making a
- 3:38Speaker 1: good point.
- 3:39Speaker 2: To Actually, you know, as a mother, I can relate
- 3:42Speaker 2: to how hard you work, and it is frustrating when
- 3:47Speaker 2: someone else who is doing what they're not supposed to
- 3:50Speaker 2: be doing doesn't get scolded for it. But it all
- 3:53Speaker 2: falls on you. I understand. I understand where you're coming from.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Daylight Saving Bless your heart, daland thank you.
- 3:59Speaker 5: So think about that when you wake up on Monday.
- 4:01Speaker 1: We have daylight saving who is really just trying to
- 4:04Speaker 1: save our lives with more sunshine and vitamin D.
- 4:06Speaker 5: It's good for our health.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I'll be on when I wake up on Monday, Angie,
- 4:09Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna I think I'm gonna wake up
- 4:10Speaker 1: with a more positive attitude and try to recognize the
- 4:13Speaker 1: hard work that daylight Savings time.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Does you know what, I really appreciate that we did
- 4:17Speaker 2: take the time to talk to you, Daylight Saving time.
- 4:19Speaker 2: You you changed our minds and you changed our hearts.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Thank you both so much for this opportunity to speak
- 4:26Speaker 4: my case and feel free to write a letter to
- 4:28Speaker 4: my ball.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I save home mom who works studio jobs and never
- 4:34Speaker 3: stop with Jim Lands and the heart of.
- 4:37Speaker 5: The Line I'm a sue.
- 4:47Speaker 6: Celebrating life's little victories. Every morning we practice gratitude on
- 4:52Speaker 6: Big ninety eight point seven.
- 4:54Speaker 4: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 4:56Speaker 4: plasket joint busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 5:00Speaker 6: Sure your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 5:03Speaker 6: two oho one seven, kids.
- 5:05Speaker 5: I also needed to win that day, and a big
- 5:08Speaker 5: shout out to Owen.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Owen actually sent this to us yesterday, so his little
- 5:13Speaker 1: victory here Today. I got out of work on time
- 5:16Speaker 1: for the first time in a few weeks, and it
- 5:18Speaker 1: felt great.
- 5:19Speaker 5: And then I got to drive home in my dream car.
- 5:21Speaker 1: So hey, wait to go. Okay, I have a follow
- 5:24Speaker 1: up question, what's the dream car? Can text us that
- 5:27Speaker 1: part at seven oh one two eight zero one nine
- 5:29Speaker 1: eight seven. I understand maybe why you wouldn't necessarily want
- 5:32Speaker 1: to share, you know, the kind of car you drive.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I well, we're not going to ask for the license
- 5:36Speaker 3: plate number, that's true.
- 5:38Speaker 5: We're just gonna ask for the color. No, I'm just
- 5:40Speaker 5: gonna answer, do you work?
- 5:42Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 5:42Speaker 5: Right?
- 5:43Speaker 1: Do you have a little victory for us today?
- 5:44Speaker 6: I do?
- 5:45Speaker 3: And it's so silly.
- 5:47Speaker 2: So you know, every Thursday we do big Happy Hour
- 5:50Speaker 2: at Unhinged Sports bar in West Pargo.
- 5:52Speaker 3: We always have a time.
- 5:53Speaker 2: But the thing that I do every week is I
- 5:56Speaker 2: bring home a pizza for my kiddos cause they don't
- 6:00Speaker 2: come with.
- 6:00Speaker 3: They're not trying to hang out a big happy hour.
- 6:03Speaker 3: The kids aren't allowed to be at Unhinged.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Until nine o'clock. My kids are just not interested. But
- 6:08Speaker 2: they do love the pizza. So I bring home a
- 6:10Speaker 2: pizza every week.
- 6:12Speaker 1: It really is good pizza, so good they are right.
- 6:16Speaker 2: The last time I brought home a pizza, I forgot
- 6:19Speaker 2: the ranch. Oh no, we're mad. And so yesterday I
- 6:26Speaker 2: didn't forget the ranch.
- 6:27Speaker 3: I got home.
- 6:28Speaker 2: I was the pizza hero and when they opened the
- 6:31Speaker 2: box there was a big old cup of ranch.
- 6:33Speaker 3: So I was a good mom to them yesterday.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I like that, And it's you know, it's strange how
- 6:38Speaker 1: you're like the best mom when you do something they like.
- 6:41Speaker 5: Yeah, it's weird. All that works with kids. Yeah, all right.
- 6:44Speaker 1: My little victory is I put together a crib yesterday.
- 6:49Speaker 1: But let me tell you a tiny story about this crib.
- 6:52Speaker 1: My wife and I go and grab this crib off
- 6:55Speaker 1: of Facebook marketplace just because they're a little bit more
- 6:58Speaker 1: affordable than brand new thousand dollar cribs, right, And so
- 7:02Speaker 1: we get this crib, we come home, we're kind of
- 7:04Speaker 1: putting it together, getting the room arranged and what have you.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And I'm putting this crib together and I'm like, honey,
- 7:09Speaker 1: I don't think they gave us all the hardware for that. Like,
- 7:11Speaker 1: there are these screws, they none of them are long
- 7:16Speaker 1: enough to latch these things together. Oh okay, not a
- 7:20Speaker 1: single one, and or maybe we had one that like
- 7:23Speaker 1: was correct. And I was like, we gotta ask another
- 7:26Speaker 1: question or get a picture or something, because this thing
- 7:28Speaker 1: didn't come with instructions, no picture, no hardware that was
- 7:32Speaker 1: the correct size, nothing. And I'm sitting here going, well,
- 7:35Speaker 1: I'm an idiot, And it turns out I was right.
- 7:41Speaker 1: My wife talked to the people who get it we
- 7:44Speaker 1: bought the crib from, and they're like, oh, we have
- 7:46Speaker 1: a bag of hardware that you'll need.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Well, yeah, I bet we do need it.
- 7:51Speaker 1: And so we went and grabbed that hardware and guess what, Angie,
- 7:54Speaker 1: I put together that crib in twenty five minutes. So
- 7:57Speaker 1: my wife, ah, yeah, it didn't have to go. Well,
- 8:01Speaker 1: I bet my dad could do it. It took me
- 8:04Speaker 1: twenty five minutes to put this thing together when we
- 8:07Speaker 1: had all of the correct pieces.
- 8:09Speaker 3: That's really impressive.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I can't build I always say this, I can't build anything.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Legos are not my friend putting together a crib.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I know I have two kids, but I absolutely had
- 8:19Speaker 2: no hand in putting their cribs together.
- 8:22Speaker 3: So good job.
- 8:23Speaker 5: It was very easy.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And the crib looks great and we're excited and they
- 8:26Speaker 1: kind of really I don't know, it's like the first
- 8:28Speaker 1: centerpiece of this room and what it's going to become here.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Okay, but maybe do you think you should test out,
- 8:33Speaker 2: like put a watermelon in the crib just to make sure.
- 8:36Speaker 5: Oh no, I had eighty seven water jugs in there yesterday.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Oh okay, you know you've got it built.
- 8:43Speaker 5: One hundred person. I love this and I laidd it.
- 8:46Speaker 5: We got.
- 8:49Speaker 6: You know the thing that you're thinking about, But you're
- 8:52Speaker 6: too polite to say we got you dying on the
- 8:56Speaker 6: hill of controversial opinions, so you don't have to.
- 9:03Speaker 5: This is sorry, not sorry. On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 9:08Speaker 2: This drives me absolutely insane when I see it on
- 9:14Speaker 2: social media. So it's one thing to not be a
- 9:18Speaker 2: great speller, you know, with spelling.
- 9:22Speaker 3: It's like you have it or you don't, and I don't.
- 9:24Speaker 2: But for the love of all that's good, and just
- 9:29Speaker 2: please know the difference between the singular and the plural.
- 9:34Speaker 3: For women, woman singular, women plural.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I can't tell you how many times I've seen on
- 9:43Speaker 2: a Mother's Day post I was raised by an incredible women.
- 9:49Speaker 2: What what are you talking about and promoting yourself? I'm
- 9:55Speaker 2: so proud of the women I have become.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You became multiple women wearing a couple of hats.
- 10:02Speaker 2: It sounds when you've had a great support system around you.
- 10:05Speaker 2: What a supportive group of women I have in my life.
- 10:10Speaker 2: A woman is not a group. Woman is singular. And
- 10:14Speaker 2: then when a guy is trying to flatter you, I've
- 10:18Speaker 2: never been with a women like you before.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Sir, what are you saying to me?
- 10:27Speaker 2: And then if you're praising a team of ladies, what
- 10:30Speaker 2: a talented group of women?
- 10:33Speaker 6: What?
- 10:34Speaker 2: I'm so mad? Woman singular, women plural. It's just like
- 10:41Speaker 2: man and men.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Why doesn't this happen when people are writing about man
- 10:45Speaker 3: and men?
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yeah, there's just a woe in front of it. Women, women, women, women,
- 10:51Speaker 2: they're different words. And if you just take one second to.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Read what you wrote, you would see, wouldn't you.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Wouldn't you see that and think, ah, it doesn't sound right. Right,
- 11:03Speaker 2: I was raised by an incredible women. I'm so mad.
- 11:08Speaker 5: When you say it like that. It makes me laugh.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Really all, I'm so mad. It doesn't make sense. I'm
- 11:13Speaker 2: a strong independent women.
- 11:15Speaker 3: No you're not.
- 11:16Speaker 2: In fact, you can't say you're independent and then women
- 11:20Speaker 2: because that's literally a squad.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Yeah right, I'm mad.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I do have a theory on the dudes texting like
- 11:27Speaker 1: I've never been with a women like you before.
- 11:29Speaker 5: I have a theory inji.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Of course you're going to try to justify this, go ahead,
- 11:34Speaker 2: go ahead, game upset me on this flail Friday.
- 11:37Speaker 1: This dude who sends I've never been with a women
- 11:41Speaker 1: like you before? Okay, you know what he's really doing.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I think what he knows is that these texts are
- 11:47Speaker 1: going to be read by the girl squad. Okay, that's
- 11:49Speaker 1: gonna get screenshot, It's gonna get sent around to the team,
- 11:53Speaker 1: the squad of ladies or group of women as you put.
- 11:56Speaker 3: It, yes, group of women not women.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Well, I think what he's doing is just shooting is
- 12:00Speaker 1: shot with the entire group.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I hate everything about your game. I'm a mad.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Women now, Angie can't see Okay, is what we've learned
- 12:11Speaker 1: this morning.
- 12:12Speaker 5: Angie, what's this old thing you do?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Okay, Wow, we're straight out the gate.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I had to find I've always had bad eyesight, but
- 12:21Speaker 2: I wear contacts for that. Yeah, but I realized I'm
- 12:26Speaker 2: at the point where I have had to enlarge the
- 12:30Speaker 2: text on my phone. Not all the way, not massive,
- 12:34Speaker 2: but I definitely cannot really see the letters on my
- 12:38Speaker 2: phone without some extra help.
- 12:41Speaker 3: And I hate it.
- 12:41Speaker 1: So instead of a medium, you gotta get to large.
- 12:44Speaker 1: You're not quite excel for those letters.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I don't even think I'm at a I think I
- 12:49Speaker 2: went from a small, tist medium.
- 12:53Speaker 5: However, you need to justify it.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Yeah, so you had to enlarge the letters on your
- 12:57Speaker 1: phone to see them. Yesterday, we are very busy after
- 13:01Speaker 1: nine o'clock here at Big ninety eight point seven, just
- 13:03Speaker 1: with a bunch of things. So I did not get
- 13:05Speaker 1: to eat soup until almost ten o'clock. It was a
- 13:10Speaker 1: tragedy actually, and she and I were in the building.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Here we are in my office getting ready for today's show. Yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 1: from about eleven fifteen to noon, my stomach was just growling.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I mean, the weirdest noises coming from my stomach maybe
- 13:28Speaker 1: ever that I've ever heard.
- 13:29Speaker 2: It was so weird because you never I'm a girly
- 13:32Speaker 2: with gastro intestinal issues always, and so I'm used to
- 13:36Speaker 2: my stomach making weird noises.
- 13:38Speaker 3: But when I started hearing what was going on and
- 13:40Speaker 3: I didn't feel it, I thought, what is happening? But
- 13:42Speaker 3: it was you?
- 13:44Speaker 2: Yeah, And literally it's because you're old now and the
- 13:47Speaker 2: second you're out of routine, it messes you up on
- 13:50Speaker 2: the inside. And you know what, I think you deserve
- 13:52Speaker 2: to face some adversity games.
- 13:54Speaker 3: So I'm glad that that happened to you.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know it was. It wasn't like I
- 13:58Speaker 1: was uncomfortable, But we're sitting there like, what is that
- 14:00Speaker 1: my stomach?
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:02Speaker 5: What is going on right now?
- 14:03Speaker 1: So I have now learned that if I am forty
- 14:06Speaker 1: five to an hour off of forty five minutes to
- 14:09Speaker 1: an hour off of my routine, stomach's gonna have some things.
- 14:13Speaker 5: To say that that.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I love that what old person thing did you sadly
- 14:18Speaker 1: finally have to start doing and you are willing to
- 14:21Speaker 1: admit it? On the Big ninety eight point seven Facebook page.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I have some great news for you, Angie. You and
- 14:25Speaker 1: I are not the only one dealing with a Oh man,
- 14:28Speaker 1: I am getting old. We're not the only ones.
- 14:30Speaker 5: Dealing with that.
- 14:31Speaker 3: I love that misery loves company.
- 14:32Speaker 1: That's right, all right, and this is great. What do
- 14:34Speaker 1: I say on this show all the time?
- 14:36Speaker 5: Angie?
- 14:36Speaker 1: Things don't happen to you, they happen for you. Going
- 14:39Speaker 1: through some adversity build strong character, like Jennifer who said
- 14:43Speaker 1: avoiding night driving as much as possible. My eyes can't
- 14:48Speaker 1: handle the bright headlights. And let me tell you, I
- 14:51Speaker 1: felt this in my stomach that was probably yelling. I
- 14:55Speaker 1: felt this in my soul, my kneecaps to the bottom
- 14:59Speaker 1: of my feet, out of my heels. I hate driving
- 15:03Speaker 1: at night, Yeah, because I hate other headlights.
- 15:05Speaker 5: I don't even like street lights.
- 15:06Speaker 2: I've got a stigmatism, so it looks like a fireworks
- 15:09Speaker 2: show if.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I'm trying to drive at night. So I don't do
- 15:11Speaker 3: it either.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Holly, she had to start wearing readers, because you know,
- 15:15Speaker 1: when you're reading a book, you can't just enlarge the
- 15:17Speaker 1: font like our Angie had to.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I think that's the thing is that if I didn't
- 15:21Speaker 2: enlarge the font on my phone.
- 15:23Speaker 3: I would have just had to get readers.
- 15:25Speaker 1: The day you show up here with readers, that's the day,
- 15:29Speaker 1: the best morning of mind.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Now I'm going to be so cute and readers.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Christy, she has to turn down the radio to find
- 15:36Speaker 1: an address. I do that too, Yeah, same, because you
- 15:39Speaker 1: know I can't read while I'm hearing.
- 15:40Speaker 3: No, that's too much going on at one time.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I like what Teresa said stretching before any physical activity.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Yes, I should start doing that.
- 15:50Speaker 1: When I did the curling video, I'm not even kidding you.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I was like, oh man, I'm gonna be doing kind
- 15:55Speaker 1: of like a lunge type situation.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Did you stretch?
- 15:59Speaker 1: What a thousand in person? Seven oh one two eight
- 16:02Speaker 1: zero one nine eight seven? Is there something? And I
- 16:05Speaker 1: use this in quotes, but like an old people thing
- 16:08Speaker 1: that you woke up one day and realized.
- 16:10Speaker 5: Oh I do that. This is am I the problem?
- 16:18Speaker 1: It's me him on the problem, it's me.
- 16:23Speaker 5: We'll hear one side of the story.
- 16:24Speaker 6: And with your help, am I the problem, decide if
- 16:27Speaker 6: it's right or if maybe you're the problem.
- 16:30Speaker 5: I'm hardly the problem.
- 16:31Speaker 2: On Big ninety eight point seven, we had a young
- 16:36Speaker 2: man right into us but I don't know his real name.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Uh hi, gab and angie. This is a little embarrassing.
- 16:44Speaker 2: So let's say my name is Jonah.
- 16:46Speaker 5: Okay, so his name's Joe.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Probably. Me and my girl been together for about a year.
- 16:52Speaker 2: All good, except she likes to make love in the
- 16:54Speaker 2: shower and I hate it so much.
- 16:57Speaker 5: This dude came out swinging.
- 16:59Speaker 2: There's too much pressure to perform in such a confined space,
- 17:03Speaker 2: and it's just stressful for me more than anything.
- 17:05Speaker 3: But I do get it done. Haha, what a guy.
- 17:09Speaker 5: Uh congratula.
- 17:11Speaker 2: But it's like almost every shower I take, she hops
- 17:15Speaker 2: in and wants a good time. I haven't said anything
- 17:18Speaker 2: because I don't want her to think that she's turning
- 17:19Speaker 2: me off.
- 17:20Speaker 3: It's the shower in general that turns me off.
- 17:24Speaker 2: But now I've waited so long to say anything that
- 17:26Speaker 2: I'm not sure she'd even believe me. What do I do, Jonah,
- 17:33Speaker 2: I'm one hundred percent on your side.
- 17:36Speaker 3: I think.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Festivities in the shower that is some propaganda from rom
- 17:42Speaker 2: coms and whatever TV shows, acting like that's the best
- 17:48Speaker 2: venue for such activities.
- 17:50Speaker 3: No, it's not. No, it's not.
- 17:52Speaker 2: It's awful, and I think you should just tell her,
- 17:56Speaker 2: Just tell her that you don't like it for whatever
- 18:00Speaker 2: reasons you have, and if she doesn't believe you, then
- 18:03Speaker 2: she ain't the one.
- 18:04Speaker 3: I wow, I it's just I don't like it. I
- 18:08Speaker 3: don't like it. I think it's in theory like oh, yes,
- 18:12Speaker 3: and the Walsh is running.
- 18:13Speaker 5: And it's steaming and it's James Bond movie.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Yes, but no, somebody ends up being cold because he
- 18:20Speaker 2: can't both be under the show unless you have a
- 18:22Speaker 2: huge shower. But he said, this is a confined space,
- 18:26Speaker 2: and so I don't imagine he's got like the shower
- 18:28Speaker 2: head that's like the rain that comes down.
- 18:30Speaker 3: You know what I mean, exactly what you yes, And
- 18:33Speaker 3: so I don't think that.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I think it's a problem that you waited so long
- 18:36Speaker 2: to say anything. Yeah, because I think that is valid.
- 18:40Speaker 2: If all of a sudden you say something, maybe she
- 18:42Speaker 2: will feel you know what, may we just forward this
- 18:46Speaker 2: email to her and cross your fingers. Maybe maybe she's listening.
- 18:51Speaker 2: What are your thoughts, Gabe? Also, we want to hear
- 18:53Speaker 2: from you seven oh one two eight ozho one nine
- 18:56Speaker 2: eight seven. You can call us text us. We also
- 18:58Speaker 2: have this up on the Big ninety eight points. I'm
- 19:00Speaker 2: on Facebook page.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Here here's what I'll say. I do want to preface,
- 19:03Speaker 1: all right, I want to start with this. No one
- 19:06Speaker 1: when festivities are going down should feel obligated to do
- 19:09Speaker 1: anything they don't want to do. Yes, But Jonah, to me,
- 19:16Speaker 1: this sounds like one of those situations where I feel
- 19:19Speaker 1: like a lot of people have this friend like, oh,
- 19:22Speaker 1: my beer is too cold, all the my crab legs
- 19:26Speaker 1: have too much butter on them, all my steak is
- 19:29Speaker 1: too juicy. That's what this sounds like to me.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Come on, Jonah, that's amazing.
- 19:37Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 19:38Speaker 5: That's what it sounds like.
- 19:39Speaker 1: It's like, Jonah, there are some dudes out there who
- 19:42Speaker 1: aren't having any shower fun time at all with anybody.
- 19:46Speaker 5: Okay, fucking up for them.
- 19:51Speaker 3: I really enjoy the dude.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Take on seven oh one two eight zero one nine
- 19:58Speaker 1: eight seven. If you really hate it, let her know what,
- 20:01Speaker 1: just I would say, just kind of suck it up, bro, Yeah.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Just say you want to change a venue? I think
- 20:07Speaker 2: I think, but you just think.
- 20:09Speaker 5: He should just keep on going.
- 20:16Speaker 2: On. The problem is, if you ever, if you ever
- 20:20Speaker 2: have an am I the problem that you'd like to submit,
- 20:23Speaker 2: by the way, you can head to Big nine eight
- 20:24Speaker 2: seven dot com, click the on air tab and you
- 20:27Speaker 2: can submit yours. We had Jonah in quotes. He wanted
- 20:31Speaker 2: to stay anonymous.
- 20:32Speaker 5: Names definitely Joe.
- 20:34Speaker 2: He wrote into us saying that he and his girlfriend
- 20:37Speaker 2: they've been together for about a year. He loves her,
- 20:39Speaker 2: except for she's always trying to have intimacy fun time
- 20:44Speaker 2: in the shower, and although he obligeses because he likes
- 20:49Speaker 2: to get the job done, he doesn't love the shower
- 20:54Speaker 2: as the venue for those activities. So he wants to
- 20:56Speaker 2: know if he's the problem for not wanting to do
- 21:00Speaker 2: those things in the shower, and should he tell her
- 21:03Speaker 2: to know for me dog or is he being a
- 21:06Speaker 2: baby about it? And should he just keep on with it?
- 21:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Angie, you're a big Maybe. Jonah's completely right.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Yes, Jonah's right.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Let me first say that, obviously, don't do anything that
- 21:17Speaker 2: you don't want to when it comes to any of
- 21:20Speaker 2: those activities.
- 21:21Speaker 3: That's okay.
- 21:21Speaker 5: First and for the first.
- 21:22Speaker 3: And foremost consent is number one.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Now, I think, Jonah, you tell her I don't want
- 21:30Speaker 2: to do that in.
- 21:31Speaker 5: The shower A little change of venue.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that fully.
- 21:36Speaker 2: This idea of oh, let's go into the shower. I
- 21:40Speaker 2: think that it was propaganda in the nineties that made
- 21:45Speaker 2: that seem like, oh yeah, that's the place to do that.
- 21:48Speaker 3: No, Bye, just tell her how you feel.
- 21:51Speaker 5: Well, here's what I'll say.
- 21:52Speaker 1: It's been a year that Jonah's been participating in this activity.
- 21:55Speaker 5: I'll tell you what.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Right now, when I go to a restaurant and I
- 21:58Speaker 1: order something, I go, ah, like, I didn't love that.
- 22:01Speaker 5: It's not great.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't go to that restaurant for a year
- 22:04Speaker 1: straight ordering the same thing. Okay, So Jonah, if you
- 22:09Speaker 1: don't like it, you probably should have been a little
- 22:11Speaker 1: more communicative. Now we do have a lot of responses
- 22:13Speaker 1: for this, and some of these it's very interesting.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Who's saying what?
- 22:18Speaker 3: Okay?
- 22:18Speaker 5: That way?
- 22:18Speaker 2: Okay, we do have this up on the Big ninety
- 22:21Speaker 2: eight Points. I'm on Facebook page too, if you want
- 22:23Speaker 2: to chime in.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Ashley says, Jonah not the problem. Shower romance overrated. It's slippery, cramped,
- 22:29Speaker 1: and someone always ends up cold great, which is guy
- 22:32Speaker 1: to what we said.
- 22:33Speaker 5: Marie. I'm with Jonah.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Movies make it look great, but in real life it's
- 22:36Speaker 1: kind of just awkward and stressful. Now I find it
- 22:39Speaker 1: very interesting if we go to the other side of
- 22:42Speaker 1: the isle here. Okay, all right, so a couple of
- 22:45Speaker 1: ladies agree with Jonah. Now the fellas not on Jonah's
- 22:49Speaker 1: side at all. Jonah complaining about this is wild to me.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Most guys would be celebrating, not stressing. We also had
- 22:58Speaker 1: Chad who said, uh, sorry, Jonah, that's a good problem
- 23:01Speaker 1: to have.
- 23:02Speaker 5: I wouldn't be turning that down.
- 23:04Speaker 1: And then finally, I think this is actually a mature,
- 23:08Speaker 1: realistic response. And this is from Yolanda, and she says,
- 23:13Speaker 1: anyone who can't communicate in general is just the problem.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Oh seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight
- 23:20Speaker 1: seven if you want to chime in this morning, or
- 23:22Speaker 1: on Facebook as well.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Wait, wait, wait on Facebook, we had Stephanie Jonah, shut
- 23:27Speaker 2: your yapper, you are the problem.
- 23:33Speaker 6: Now.
- 23:33Speaker 1: People like to joke about millennials, you know, those who
- 23:35Speaker 1: are older and younger. We have people, we have some
- 23:38Speaker 1: people who work at the front desk that when there's
- 23:40Speaker 1: a conversation going on. I have heard verbatim it sounds
- 23:44Speaker 1: so millennial up here. Oh my gosh, like derogatory.
- 23:47Speaker 5: Yeah, well, believe it or not, like it or not.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Millennials have arrived at the ages of like thirty five, forty.
- 23:58Speaker 1: A solid chance there's a millennial liststening to this station
- 24:01Speaker 1: right now.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Yeah, we hope.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Well, someone asked a group of millennials online, Hey, what
- 24:07Speaker 1: are some signs that you have made it your I
- 24:11Speaker 1: have arrived moment? For example, for me, when I was younger,
- 24:15Speaker 1: I thought, if you had a fridge where you could
- 24:17Speaker 1: like put your glass on there, push a little thing
- 24:19Speaker 1: and ice cubes fell out of it. Oh, yeah you
- 24:22Speaker 1: were You're done it. Yeah, you're done. You don't have
- 24:24Speaker 1: to go to work anymore. You retire.
- 24:25Speaker 5: It's over, Angie.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I want to know how many of these you have
- 24:30Speaker 1: completed and if you have arrived or not? Okay, and
- 24:34Speaker 1: I have not completed all these either or done all
- 24:36Speaker 1: these either. So this isn't just so we're picking on
- 24:37Speaker 1: Angie thing today. I mean, are you sure we'll see?
- 24:41Speaker 3: All right?
- 24:41Speaker 5: Angie?
- 24:42Speaker 1: Finally upgrading from a full sized bed to a new
- 24:45Speaker 1: king bed, have you arrived?
- 24:48Speaker 3: I have done this. I have done this.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I did go to a smaller bed though, because Matthew
- 24:54Speaker 2: McConaughey said that's better for your relationship if you're in
- 24:57Speaker 2: a smaller bed, So you can be really cozied up
- 24:59Speaker 2: to your partner.
- 25:00Speaker 3: But that was a choice and not because I had to.
- 25:03Speaker 1: So there we go. Who would have thought the wise
- 25:05Speaker 1: words of Matthew McConaughey he'd been with his wife forever.
- 25:09Speaker 5: It's a good point, all right, Angie.
- 25:11Speaker 1: What about being able to put your bills on auto pay?
- 25:15Speaker 2: Apparently not, I not even having not I left, I
- 25:19Speaker 2: didn't even I didn't arrive.
- 25:21Speaker 3: I'm going somewhere else.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you're still in the house. No, I have no Yeah,
- 25:25Speaker 1: so this one I have done? That is it is nice? Well,
- 25:29Speaker 1: I'm saying it is nice that they all come out
- 25:32Speaker 1: and then you look at the old account and you're like, oh,
- 25:35Speaker 1: like that's all done.
- 25:37Speaker 2: When I look at the account and realize I have
- 25:40Speaker 2: autopan something, I think I'm ruined.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Okay, what about this, Angie, having a drink fridge in
- 25:48Speaker 1: the garage?
- 25:49Speaker 5: Have you arrived yet?
- 25:50Speaker 3: Oh? I've arrived, honey, mm hmm, this one you got? Yeah?
- 25:54Speaker 5: I love that, all right?
- 25:55Speaker 1: What about this paying a service to trim a large
- 26:00Speaker 1: tree instead of doing it yourself.
- 26:04Speaker 3: That is the That is.
- 26:05Speaker 7: The loophole of renting a home that includes any of
- 26:11Speaker 7: the landscaping so yeah, I guess I've arrived, all right,
- 26:14Speaker 7: and it's the next one you own a home, because
- 26:16Speaker 7: no one.
- 26:17Speaker 5: That one is on there.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Yeah, but okay, what about this having plastic hangers that
- 26:22Speaker 1: are all the same shape and color?
- 26:24Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, that was a conscious choice.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I was tired of all the mismatch, especially now more
- 26:33Speaker 2: wire hangs.
- 26:34Speaker 3: So yeah, yep.
- 26:36Speaker 1: If you haven't done this and you would like to,
- 26:38Speaker 1: I have the cheapest way for you to do it. Okay,
- 26:41Speaker 1: obviously you got to go through your hangers. You could
- 26:43Speaker 1: do like what I do with the socks, and I
- 26:45Speaker 1: just throw them all the way and go buy like
- 26:46Speaker 1: four bags. But if you would like a cheap way
- 26:49Speaker 1: to do this so all your hangers match, you can
- 26:52Speaker 1: just go get hangers at like the dollar store.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Oh yeah, load up.
- 26:56Speaker 1: On a billion hangars for like ten bucks, and they
- 26:59Speaker 1: will all make at least be the same size and
- 27:01Speaker 1: shape and collars.
- 27:02Speaker 2: That's true, and they end up I've done that before
- 27:05Speaker 2: and so it ends up being cost effective.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I have one more for you here, Angie. All right,
- 27:11Speaker 1: buying nice matching glass cups instead of a bunch of
- 27:16Speaker 1: random cups in your cupboard. Do all your glasses match?
- 27:19Speaker 1: At your house or like you know, you have five
- 27:21Speaker 1: that match and another five that match.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I can't say it was my doing.
- 27:28Speaker 2: I think my boyfriend took care of the matching glasses
- 27:31Speaker 2: portion and I still have like a plastic cup with pocahonas.
- 27:34Speaker 5: Yeah right, I.
- 27:41Speaker 6: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 27:45Speaker 6: good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 27:49Speaker 1: A local gardening group in more Head, a local gardening
- 27:53Speaker 1: group excuse me called Morehead Grows, is helping fight hunger
- 27:57Speaker 1: in a new way by organizing an empty Bowls fund
- 28:01Speaker 1: raiser fundraiser for the Dorothy Day Food Pantry.
- 28:05Speaker 5: I'm gonna learn how to talk here, Angela.
- 28:08Speaker 1: The events will take place on Saturday from four to
- 28:12Speaker 1: eight pm at Swing Barrel Brewing. Morehead Grows typically donates
- 28:17Speaker 1: extra produce from local gardens to food pantries, working with
- 28:21Speaker 1: the NDSU Extension Master Gardener Program through the Veggies for
- 28:25Speaker 1: the Pantry initiative. Last year, thousands of pounds of produce
- 28:29Speaker 1: were collected in the Fargo Moorhead area and donated to
- 28:31Speaker 1: local pantries for the fundraiser. Local artists have donated ceramic bowls,
- 28:36Speaker 1: while several more Head restaurants will provide soup and bread.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Attendees receive a meal and a bowl as a reminder
- 28:43Speaker 1: of food and security, while proceeds help support the pantries
- 28:46Speaker 1: work feeding people in the community.
- 28:49Speaker 2: This is so cool because I feel like a lot
- 28:51Speaker 2: of times, you know, growing up, it's like, oh, there's
- 28:53Speaker 2: the canned food drive, the canned food drive, but it
- 28:56Speaker 2: is really important to get some of those fresh fruits
- 28:59Speaker 2: and vegetables. So it is really awesome to see them
- 29:03Speaker 2: doing this with produce.
- 29:04Speaker 3: I feel like we don't see that a lot, so
- 29:06Speaker 3: this is amazing.
- 29:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Once again, this is called the Empty Bowls Fundraiser for
- 29:10Speaker 1: the Dorothy Day Food Pantry and it takes place Saturday
- 29:14Speaker 1: from four to eight at Swing Barrel Brewing. If you're
- 29:16Speaker 1: interested or want to participate or donate, or whatever the
- 29:19Speaker 1: case may be. The world is full of nice people.
- 29:21Speaker 1: If you can't find one, you gotta be one.
