- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: So therefore, when I turned 18, all the money that they gave out the cash aid, the Medicaid and the food stamp that they gave to this person for the time period, the retroactively came back after me.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: So when I turned 18, I'm already in debt.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: If he can't work and he don't have no skills, where you think he's going to get money from.

- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: Today's guest believes America's biggest crisis isn't just financial.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's the breakdown of the family unit.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: Lionel TJ Tilman has spent more than two decades fighting to strengthen families, empower parents and ensure children have meaningful relationships with both.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: fit and present parents as the founder of the children need both parents foundation he's now taking that mission to the national stage with the bringing family back together and child support equity act of 2027 a proposed bill designed to put children first by promoting equal
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't about choosing mothers over fathers or fathers over mothers.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's about choosing children.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: If
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: You've ever been affected by family court, child support, co-parenting or believe stronger families, build stronger communities.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: This conversation is one that you do not want to miss.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: Stay with us until the end, because this episode might completely change how you think about family justice and general legacy, a generational legacy.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: We got my brother TJ in the building.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, kid, hey, child support is from.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: It was handy with you, but take care of kids though because they already know this ain't no get out of jail free car.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, hey, clip that I don't that was a great intro.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: I see clip that that's my intro.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you brother for for for coming back on a platform for sure
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I was first time on the platform.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: I've got to see the first episode.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: Went crazy actually.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: It is funny because I say this.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: It was during a transition time for me.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: Where, you know, I was on an earlier leisure network.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: I had transitioned.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: And you see what we all had done.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: You see the plaque.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: So you see what you know what I'm saying.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: You see what we all had done.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: But it was a transition period.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: And funny enough though.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think that episode, you know, you know, did like 12,000, 13,000 views on a new channel.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't say that.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: And so the message was received wide, I think we had hundreds of thousands of views online, like it went crazy.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: It opened a door for a lot of opportunities for you.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of people are reaching out to me, like, yo, can you connect me with the child support as for a guy?
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I appreciate everything that you've done, all that you're doing to bring light into the child support, and so for those who don't know who is Lionel TJ Tellman and then give us a brief synopsis also of like, why do you believe child support is as for him?
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: So for me, my name is Lonell TJ Tillman, I'm from Compton, California, I am a husband, a father, a child of God, like, you know, a lot of people, it is what it is, it, I'm not not a friend, no one, but you know, it is what it is.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: So it's just like me, I am
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: I was put on child support at 12 years old.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: I was retroactively put on child support at 12 years old.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: When that means is, when I turned 18 years old, the child was conceived when I was 12, therefore, and she was receiving government assistance because she was a child as well.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: So therefore, when I turned 18, they retroactively went back those six years,
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: The money, all the money that they gave out the cash aid, the Medicaid and a full stamp that they gave to this person for the time period, the retroactively came back after me.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: So when I turned 18, I'm already in debt.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: So when I find out about the case seven years later, I'm 24,000 in debt.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm 25, 24,000 in debt.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: So Billy Jean, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that my, hey, that's real talk.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: Was that, was that the child that you could see
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: I had a tip.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: I locked on the door.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: I locked on the door.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: I was 12 years old.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: I never penetrated the one.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: So just being 100% honest at 12 years old, me not going on the door.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know if I locked on the right door and I was right.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: I liked it.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: It could have been a friend door to bed.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't pass go.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't collect $200.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: So you know, at that point, it didn't of course brought up something which was paramount in
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: He had named respuberty to even produce semen to even conceive a child.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, how old was she?
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: She was 14, 15, and I don't know.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: She was my cousin's friend, so I really don't know.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: But ultimately, the course ruled that I, I wouldn't need respuberty to even conceive a child.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: that didn't dismiss the case.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: They said, well, yeah, he hadn't reached puberty to conceive a child, but he was still deemed the legal father.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: How?
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: Because even though you're not the biological father, you're still deemed the legal father and you're legally responsible for the financial responsibility of this child.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's just safer, it's just, we're not even going to use your wife.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to use somebody else's wife.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: Say, a married couple.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: Why steps out on the husband?
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: wife gets pregnant by a whole other man.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: A do DNA test and it says that the other man is the biological father of this married woman's child.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: The husband is deemed the legal father because that child is considered to be a child of the marriage for so into Supreme Court case law, Michael H versus Gerald D. That says that that child is a child that's managing your still deemed the legal father and responsible.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Not to get, I don't like to get in a whole mess.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: Right, right, right, right.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: But that's what Cardi B.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: It all said in Travea, that's what they was going through.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: In a top here, because Cardi B is technically still Mary, even though separated still Mary will marry.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: So the child that she conceived also was the legal father of that child.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then there was paperwork that had to be signed off to
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the whole 12 years old you can't get married though, but you still fall under the legal father.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: This is why I wrote this bill to actually go in to change some of these politics because a lot of this stuff is outdated.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: All this stuff started back in 1935 when women could barely work.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: Here we are.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: We just had a woman vice president.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Things have changed.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, let's just, you know, these have changed.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Women are the fastest growing entrepreneurs.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: Look.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm in a financial literacy group and it's one of the one of the young ladies in the she 22 years old she the youngest person in the group and she killing it like on young sense so it's like women are surpassing a lot of the men so a lot of the things are changed so we need to go back and revisit a lot of these outdated in policies and that's where I'm at now yeah yeah
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: Talk about the bill, right, because, like, you know, again, I've seen you fight for, you know, child support for the rights of, of, of, you know, mainly men, right, because it's not, you know, I mean, women went to, you know, it's mainly men, you know, I've seen you do a lot of work, you know, why now?
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: What makes you say, you know, what I'm going to Congress with it, I got a, you know, you know, we got to
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: Because so there's this thing that I caught, you know, we've back in COVID, it was PPP.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: I came with EPP.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: EPP is education.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: policy prevention.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: So right now, I'm in a policy failure.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: I've educated people.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: I've educated hundreds of thousands and millions on these platforms.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: On what are their parental rights?
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: What rights do you have as a father and as a mother?
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: What are our rights?
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: What rights do you have in custody and child support?
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: So now it's like we can only do that for so long.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: We can educate it, educate it, educate it.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: But now we have to take it to the next phase.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: What is the next phase?
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, we can only complain for so long.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: We can rally.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: We've been rallying since the civil raises, like not to take nothing away from that, but it's like we have to move to the next phase.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: The next phase is now going into Congress to change some of these policies.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody has to write the bill to say,
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: what needs to be changed who better to do it than a person who went through it and now advocating for all of these millions of families and voices to say that this is what's wrong because we went through it and this is what's if we let's just ask one simple question
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: does do process apply here today because if it does that opens the door for everything that we talking about that's equal parenting at birth meaning both fit and present parents have equal rights to their child.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: I had this one teacher in elementary.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to work to get your A.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's like you started and then you got to work to get.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: She did some different.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: She said every day on on day one of school of this school year, you already got your A.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's on the chart.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: You already got your A is yours.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: The lose it.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: So that that concept is at birth.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: We both have 50 50 and no presume mother got the presumption of all right.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: She's the custodial parent.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: How did I become a non custodial right so it's like now we have to let's start with our A yeah and it's yours to lose so because there's a Supreme Court case law is called
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, ooh, Santowski versus Cramer and Stanley versus Illinois.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: Stanley versus Illinois says that unwaired fathers are equally entitled to the same protection as mothers as long as they've created a equal, I mean, a parent child relationship with their child.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: And it specifically says the state,
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: before the stake it inject themselves into the private family realm, they have to give the father the opportunity to demonstrate his fitness as a parent.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: Meaning you got to let me mess up first.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: There has to be history of drugs, neglect or abuse in order for you to step into this family realm.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: So with that, we're in Georgia right now.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: There's something in Georgia specifically called Legitimation.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: Legitimation in a state of Georgia says, if you don't come through the state of Georgia, if you don't get your child legitimized and you're not married, you as a father, you can take DNA, it says it's yours 100%.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: you don't have no rights to your child and to you come see us.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: Georgia said you got to come see me first pay us and then you go get your go to this legitimation process and then you can get rights but then when you look at that let's look at the legitimation rate they say well legitimate legitimation don't automatically say you're going to be on child support but how many men that went through legitimation that are not on child support.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: They don't want to open the books.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's like
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: Again, does do process apply here today?
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what do you think that, you know, I know those laws were made in the 1930s and things that had in nature, which are outdated, but I almost feel like also there's a reason why they're not changing them, meaning like,
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like, you know, you know, separating the family is beneficial.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's beneficial.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's all the little bit about that.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: for the fiscal year of 206 alone, stage received $755 million to separate families.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: This is not my opinion, this is fact, you can Google it right now.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: 42 USC 658A, that's the United States cold 658A, that is the incentive payments to states.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: The Department of Health and Human Services for this year alone,
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: issued out $755 million to start child support cases to establish paternity to collect the Rears.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: So when you're separated, this is a bonus.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: This is a kickback.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: This ain't got nothing to do with my regular salary.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: So this is big, this is big and it ain't no brand.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what it's like when you when you look at that so this is why I wrote this bill and going to Congress in a lot of people And well, you know you know you from California you're doing a lot of stuff in Georgia you know you can't just do what it don't one state Oh, I'm smarter than that
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: what I'm doing is I'm instead of going to try to change state by state yeah I'm going to the Department of Health and Human Services because the Department of Health and Human Services issues these mandates that all states have to follow to in order to receive those incentives.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: They already have to adopt certain policies that put in place by the Department of Health and Human Services.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: So now we go there and say, look, we ain't trying to just take all your money away from them because they ain't no way they're going to let me do that so just like put some highlight on it and say, look, this is not fair, right does do process apply here.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: Right, let's let's revisit some of these, let's modify this, let's change that and read instead of incentivizing families to separate.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's incentivize families to stay together.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's why I'm at.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny enough because I think we live in a time where, um, you know, and you could tell me your opinion on this, I think we live in a time where, um, you know, follows one of being involved in the whole life.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, I know, you know, you know, I'm a 80s baby, a group in the 90s and I feel like, um,
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, you know, our generation, like my dad wasn't around, like our generation.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of fathers weren't in the household or whatever the case may be.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: So there was this need, if you will, of making sure that kids, you know, are being taken care of, but even in that, right?
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: When you think about, you know, you know, growing up in the hood and, you know, understanding that you wouldn't get as much money.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: from from welfare or whatever public assistance if you had a man in the household.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: So that was that was more incentive right to to to to get the man up the household household right and come on now your public you know public assistance is gonna be cut off.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: But now when you fast forward it feels like you know there are you know I'm seeing young guys that you know a pushing baby stroke like they like they want to be involved
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: But sometimes you know mothers could use that as a weapon.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and most definitely and I've seen it a lot to where you're absolutely right to where there's younger men Yeah, like the younger men in this generation there they're gonna I know this is Mike.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm actively they definitely want to be in their
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: earlier this year and I was standing in front of child support and I said, look, sinness, just ask the mother of your child once simple question and text me the screenshot the reply.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, ask them, can I get joint legal and physical custody over the kids?
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, those reply, hell no, why would I do that?
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: This is my child.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: Why would I, what get off my phone?
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: Why would
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: If you, so you, so you, you told, you told fathers to touch that to, to, to, to, to, to, to your baby mother very mother and saying get, can I get physical, because it means I get more time with the get correct correct correct and there's it no, well, all you say you don't lost your mind, but if you don't get off my phone, boy, but it's all, bruh, it's like, are you serious?
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: So it ain't about the the me having spent a more time with the kids.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: So what what we talking about right you said And I'm just looking like bruh.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: This is crazy and and to go back to even what you was talking about I grew up in section eight house.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: on inspection day.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: If you have a section eight, inspection day, that mean they coming over to look and see, to make sure everything is working.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: You clean in walls, cleaning the window pains, anything that shows that Daddy was in his house, pictures going, clothes is in a garage, and you know, the little covers or whatever.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: we were as children, we were condition that we received incentives by the father, not being in the home.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: We don't even think about what that was.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: We were condition as children to see this.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: So now it's just ongoing cycle and some point.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I said, we can educate it, we can complain,
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: But at some point, we have to actually play their own game and how do we do that change in policy, and that's what we are.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: The bringing family back together and child support equity act of 2027.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: So I said the mission is, put children first by protecting healthy relationships with both fit and present parents, right?
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: Who's right, do you think it is to determine whether a parent is fit?
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, great question.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, great question.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: So when you look at the definition of fit, they outline it.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I said there has to be no history of drugs.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: or abuse.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: So when you're talking about, uh, when you're talking about this, like, you can have occasional drinks, but it's not to where you, if you got DUIs that they presumed that you want to think, because you, you got to take the kids and, or if you are repeated offender, because someone may have a drink.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: We have a glass of wine after work and then drove home and now you got to do you I just because it was nothing like you didn't abuse it.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: You're not a abusive drinker So even or abuses abuse whether you physically abusing your children or touching and you know All that extra stuff
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: This is what it outlines where it says as a fit parent.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: You've never left your children in the car while you went into this is what they're talking about.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: They already outlined it.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: So just like if there's, if there's no history of that, then both parents are entitled to both, I mean to the children.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: So my question to whether it's a mother or the father because there's women who are fighting to get back custody of their children.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like,
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: What, what do you gain?
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like why do I have to fight you to get more time with my, my children, right, right, why do I have to fight you?
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: And why do you feel that these are your children?
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: Many people go inside of these mediation.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: They have mediation and it can be done in mediation.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what do you want?
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: What do you want?
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: The guy or whoever the non-castory parent says, well, I want physical custody.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: The other parent says, no, I'm not giving you physical.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: Why not?
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: You say, you got me on a child support, right?
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: Is it that support?
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh, wait a minute, you won't support.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: Right, right, you're gonna support support.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: That's the bad, that's the bad.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: You won't support, but you'll won't support support.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: So when you look at, if there's, if there's don't history of drugs in the Blacks or abuse, then at that point, then both parents are, and that's why it says fit and present parents win healthy because let's just be honest.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: There are some parents that don't need to have
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: equal time with their children for whatever reason, especially, there's a lot of, I'm, I'm, I'm just, I'm elousinous on ask, you know, here we are.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I'm blotching my podcast.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_00]: There's all the family code.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_00]: But in the family code, we haven't these conversations about not just with child support and custody, but there's these unwritten codes and our family that, you know, just stuff that goes on that, we don't talk about outside of these walls.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: There's you air we know everyone we got that one uncle that one cousin that then did some file stuff Who that we don't talk about but we get online and talk about pedophiles and all it but you know you got Be the world It's so it's a lot of and we got younger sisters and cousins who had you know they got rid of their child because
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: They was 15 years old, and the person who was 27.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_00]: So these are the conversations that we don't have, and publicly, because there's this code that you don't talk about what goes on in this house.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's what Mom and Daddy took.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever happens is, you bed not going, go tell them people what goes on in this house.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: So it's just like having those conversations to where it's like,
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: We went through a lot of trauma and we didn't have the words to put on what we actually went through.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: So now, in this timeframe that we're in now, we have outlets to express and to even heal from the trauma that we went through as children.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when you say child support is fraud, how is it fraud?
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: specifically, I'll give you a let's just go back to do.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: So the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution says that no person shall be deprived of their life.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: liberty that's freedom or property my money or my children without due process of law have to write to be heard or write to a fair trial or write to equal protection or write to face my accuser.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_00]: Fair trial says you have to have a fair trial meaning you have this party, this party and a fake finder.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: How can you have a fair trial in a state hearing under state codes where states are incentivized to find you guilty in his hearing?
- 24:53[SPEAKER_00]: How can you have a fair trial?
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's, so the Constitution says anything if any state comes, it's called the Supremacy calls.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: Article six calls to when the Constitution says that if any state comes up with their own state statute that can flex with the Constitution, that state statute is void.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: If you have
- 25:14[SPEAKER_00]: Georgia, I.E.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: is talking about legitimation, right?
- 25:17[SPEAKER_00]: And you don't have no rice to your children until you come see us.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, wait, hold up.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_00]: Said Towsky versus Kramer says that every natural parent got the a free interest to the care custody management over the children.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: So what are we talking about?
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: So if this can flicks, if I don't have a fair trial because you're in set of odds, what is it in set of, and in set of is something that entices the outcome of a certain hearing.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: So how can I get a fair trial?
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: you cannot.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: So just that alone, that's what makes it forward.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: That makes it there's a conflict with the Constitution.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: What actually makes it frog is the intent.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_00]: What is the intent?
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: You're you're incentivized.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: You get no you get the kickback.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's what make the intent is what makes it frog.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: And and and then so, um, you know, I know many people have been, um,
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they lose their license, you know, credit, right?
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many, they could, something like this, people lose their job.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, post that from.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: Right, you know, you know, but because of that, like.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: Even the ability, even people who are put on child support are kind of strict away from being able to make an honest living even.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's how you're pushing them into entrepreneurship or life-acron.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_01]: And so how can they get away with that?
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: How do they take your license?
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: How are they doing all of that?
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: Prima Fati.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_00]: Prima Fati says that
- 26:56[SPEAKER_00]: the course take whatever is file as true and correct and to you provide evidence to say that is not.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not innocent until proven guilty.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: So until you challenge it, we presume that you agree.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_00]: Ah, with child support, with child support.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: So if you don't object, that means you agree.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: Even if you don't know.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: Even if you don't object, that means you agree.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: Even if you don't, literally,
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy that you said those exact words because in primary facie it literally says even if you don't know that this option is available to you by you making a general appearance Meaning you just showed up You're waving your rice and if you don't challenge it that means you're agree Wow You can look it up.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's a round of face you.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: And so, and that's part of the thing in your bill, right?
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: Because your bill is talking about due process.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: How is that due process, right?
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: In short, parents receive proper notice, right?
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: And it's meaningful opportunity to be heard before.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: It was my actions.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Before.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: before, you know, right because, and so, and so I know this from, you know, you know, prize to be an entrepreneur, I've always worked in corporate jobs, always like a manager.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: I remember, you know, as, you know, working at Blockbuster videos, they're working at the bank.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know, several banks.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: I remember, you know, employees coming up to me saying, yo, they garnishing my check.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: They take him money out of the check.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: They don't know to at the fact like they they're not serving anything that there is no due process it happens especially in environments right and this is not just black and white because I mean it's not just black because I want people to understand and you could talk about this too is that
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: there are more white people on child support.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: Correct people.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny because I didn't know that I remember my wife was working for a big corporation and she was the head of HR and she would come back with stories about like majority white men who were on child support.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: And so just clarify that because a lot of times people think oh child support is a black thing, it's a Hispanic thing but again like you said
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: There was a study that came out.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_00]: I believe it was 2024, that the Department of Health in Human Services and Child Support Services, they put out, they gave like,
- 29:29[SPEAKER_00]: criteria of the people who were receiving government assistance.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: 61% with carcassian people.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: 69%.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like people, I think it was like 21%.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, if you're receiving government assistance, they're coming after you for child support.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_00]: So that was very talent.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I posted it.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, look, and it also showed on there, as well of that,
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: when the ratio, it was like 80 to something percent of mothers who receive government assistance with a father is on child support versus with a father's work on, it was like 33% of the fathers who were had the custody where they put the mother on child support.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's a 50% difference.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: So when you look at these numbers, it's like, nah, bro, like do process, it has to happen.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_00]: That is the fundamental backbone of our judicial system.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_00]: I have to be given notice.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of people's, they don't get notice.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: and not man.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: So after the fact, because, because what you know, what one of the things that I was gonna say is that again, like, as a manager manager, you know, you know, like not many as a member, have my employees or whatever come to me, who are already strapped, right?
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: Who are already living paycheck and then because they're living paycheck, the paycheck, they are looking forward to every single penny and one day,
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: get that income with hold in order.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: Man.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: And now half of your paycheck is going on.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_00]: I've been there.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: That's how I got notified when I got hand in my chat.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_00]: That's how I got notified that I was on child support.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: On payday say, hey, it's wrong.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_00]: So you look Mr. Tillman, we got this known as when notice.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_00]: Your checks is going to start to be going as effective immediately.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_00]: What do you mean?
- 31:20[SPEAKER_00]: Well, child support, child support, what are you talking about?
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking at it now at this time.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm on, I wasn't doing good at the time.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm on a go.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't have any kids yet.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm on a government assistance program.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm only getting paid $500 up to like $523 every two weeks.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: They took half of that.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm like, yo, this is wild, right?
- 31:43[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of people they don't get served correctly and this is not an isolated event.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_00]: So while talking to people and I'm having consultations and I'm educating people and people are looking at their documents and they're like, wait.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: my proof of service was never even file.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_00]: It don't say filed at all.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's completely blank.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_00]: It don't say who they serve when they served.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: But if you don't challenge it, that means you agree.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_00]: The worst and this is real big.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: This is paramount.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people say that they didn't get served because it wasn't handed to them directly.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: There's a big difference between the substitute service and a personal service.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: Personal service means I handed it to Ashcast directly and said, hey, there's a personal service.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: A substitute service is I couldn't find Ashcast so I left it in the mail.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_00]: I left it on a doorstep on an address that was on your ID.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: I left it at your mama house.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_00]: I left it.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: If you go to the strip club every Thursday and that's what we know that you be, I left it there.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: If it don't come back return to Cinder, that is a valid,
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: substitute service.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: Now with that, they have other things that they must do in order to make it valid.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_00]: But a lot of people coming in like, oh, I didn't get served.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, well, you got a default judgment.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I was at the first hearing.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: Well, how did you show up today?
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: Out of all the days in the world, why did you show up to this place?
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, because it can't my mom and call me and says she got something in the mail.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's the substitute service.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_00]: So we have to be mindful.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_00]: And saying just because I didn't get served personally that I wasn't served.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's not necessarily true.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: And so, um,
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: were you ever like vindicated with a like they they they figured out that the pay me back at your time.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that's right.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's what that was my question.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: So so once they they garnished your check and they found it by they had the state page you back.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're talking 22 years later.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa, we're talking 22 years later.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, so when my case got dismissed.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: for fraud, because there was a Ford signature.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people, and I want to make this very clear.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of times, I forget to say this part when I'm doing interviews, because it confuses people.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_00]: When people talk about, well, the child was in charge.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's why the case is guy dismissed.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely not.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_00]: The case, you can look at,
- 33:56[SPEAKER_00]: is posted pin on my Instagram is the first thing you see it literally says that my case was dismissed for a stress fix for all because the process server committed a stress fix for all because there was a forced signature and they said they served me at a house which I later pool was a vacant house so when you're looking at these things it's like nah you you you
- 34:17[SPEAKER_00]: There wasn't no, uh, it had nothing to do with the child.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_00]: It had nothing to do with all of these things in the process.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_00]: My case was dismissed because they didn't follow their own procedure.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_00]: And guidelines.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_00]: So that's, that had they follow the procedure.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_00]: Would you have still been, been on child support?
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, so to speak, because if they did everything correctly, yeah, yeah, yeah, now I could have challenged it still saying because it is because you incentivize therefore that there's a conflict, so when you when you going back into these processes, we have to understand that.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_00]: we have to start from the very beginning.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_00]: There's you can't build a house on on on on on the rocky foundation.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_00]: So when you do that, going back to the very beginning and looking to see how they opened these cases and when when that case got dismissed, they offered to pay me back dollar for dollar.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_00]: No interest or no interest.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't take it.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: I declined it and it was like, well, why are you not taking the money?
- 35:21[SPEAKER_00]: Well, because you know, I had interest on me.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_00]: as we fear.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_00]: So they made me another settlement offer.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't take it.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_00]: I ended up and before you go there how many years were you paying child support?
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: So let's say they put you on child support from 18 at by 24 you racked up all this all this child support debt.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: They start collecting how long were you on on child support.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I was on it went from the time I found out about it.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_00]: They first
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: My case got dismissed in 2016.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_00]: I went to the Comping Unified School District so y'all can do the math on that whatever that year, 11 years.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: 2005, 2016.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, okay.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_00]: So that's 11 years.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_00]: So that's the portion of where they were taking literally taking my money from that time period.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_00]: That was nothing you could do.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_00]: No, because they said that I miss the time frame pursuits so that's six-month period.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_00]: Because being that they served me out of vacant house, I didn't even know that I was served.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_00]: So they started the case.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_00]: And now I'm on a child support for seven years.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_00]: It don't even
- 36:30[SPEAKER_00]: So, when I go back and they say, well, you missed this six month period, your responses on time, you're now the legal father, whether you, the biological and not you're the legal father, you still have this obligation to pay child support.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: So, by me going back and challenging everything and looking at it from the very beginning because the lady told me that I got a server and I said, oh, no, I did not.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_00]: And then going through the whole process and that's how the case got dismissed for extrinsic
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: taking them to federal court to and federal court is very tedious.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: They gave me a very hard time.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: But I'd never, this is my first time.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_00]: They've been that, you know, you were my first interview.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's from that interview.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_00]: It blew up and everything that I've done after that.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_00]: They said, man, I think you interviewed one of those guys.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm giving you this.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: Is it?
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: Is it?
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: Is it?
- 37:23[SPEAKER_00]: How I actually got my money back?
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: I found it insurance claim against the county of Los Angeles.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_00]: because they hold their own insurance bars.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: So it's just like you wreck my car.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_00]: I find it insurance claiming it's the county of Los Angeles.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_00]: By case it had already been dismissed for fraud.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_00]: So there's already a mission to give.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: So when I did that,
- 37:45[SPEAKER_00]: they start talking real nice to me.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, hey, Mr. Tillman, are you doing what we're doing?
- 37:51[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, they came with a nice number and nice.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it made me sign some things.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_00]: You came right away, right right, but just let's go ahead and put it.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: Man, we cool now, right, for sure, and then, you know, because I know like a lot of people want, you know, um, you've helped a lot of people.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: You've, uh, did consultations with people.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I don't know.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have a number like how many people have you been able to free from, uh, a chance of a, I don't even know.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't even, I don't even, uh, it's, like, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it
- 38:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's over to hundreds, it's fair, and this is the thing.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_00]: People send me DMs of just, like, bro, whether I took your master class at it, consultation, or even some just watching your stuff on a lot.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_00]: I went to implemented stuff and got my case dismissed.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_00]: They sent it to me.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, as I see it, I post it, and I know it's over to hundreds.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_00]: There's, I got dismisses in my DMs that I ain't even seen.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_00]: What my man damn said, I got a buffery.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: I got a dismissal for every bummer on your face.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
- 39:05[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, people come to me.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, yo, I got my case dismissed.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, well, DM it to me.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, no, I said it to you three months ago.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_00]: I ain't even seen it's been three months.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's just been sitting there.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_00]: So the number, I don't even know.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's not even about the number, bro.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're really, it's about what brings me peace.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_00]: when a person getting custody at her children is like, no one I'm fulfilling
- 39:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing what God has put me here to do and to educate my people and this ain't no get out of jail free card at any point where I haven't a consultation with someone directly and I get any feeling that you ain't taking care of, bro, I'm cutting you off and I didn't have people that joined my mentorship, bro, that made $5,000 to be a my mentorship
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: He was like, yeah, Ben, I, I got a heinous situation.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, hey, it's okay.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: And he kept talking.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_00]: We ended, it was a group setting.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_00]: He talked and then he said, the word heinous again.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, bro, I watched law and order.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: I've only heard the word heinous in law and order.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, hold up.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_00]: Where did you do?
- 40:28[SPEAKER_00]: Let's, let's get to this right here right now.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_00]: And he was like tap dancing around.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, no, let's, let's stop all that.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_00]: And he was like, man, they said that I, you know, this and who are my daughter, I said, let's stop.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I told my people, it's like, look, let's make sure we're gonna get him off of here and make sure he get his bread back.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, no, I don't, I don't play those games.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, at any point, where is any type of final business?
- 40:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not doing that.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: And that's important.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's important to note because I think sometimes, you know, people who try to use the laws or help for the wrong reason or something.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: But at the end of the day, your mission is to really to unify the family, right?
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: To bring the family together, but bring it back in a healthy way, right?
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: Because you don't want to bring back a family that's
- 41:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think about this, when you have both parents in the household dog, at one point, I was the sole custodial parent over my daughter, with my daughter, I have a blend of family, this my daughter came before my marriage, so I got two boys with my wife and then I got my daughter.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_00]: My her mother got into some legal troubles, I was the sole custodial parent, single father
- 41:53[SPEAKER_00]: She's growing up, her body changed.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_00]: She has a period at school.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_00]: They call me.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: I go to the school.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: She's embarrassed because it didn't happen in front of her friends.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't got her in some clothes that at the school.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what to do, brother.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, what do I do with this?
- 42:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just here for moral support, because I don't know, I don't know what to do.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how to support you in this moment.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's like going to the grocery store when I'm looking at boxes, there stands, there's sticks, there's wires, there's gear.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't I can't even actually because you don't even know you need your mom for this situation Yeah, I know we don't like to do the gender roles, but there are certain things that why you need Up you need your mom you need your dad right there's a if there's a button You don't call me from way there ask guys come in here and kill us
- 42:54[SPEAKER_00]: You talk your tire pressures low you ain't gonna take your tire pressure.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: You go say hey my tire is low, and so it ain't about the gender roles, but there are things that are designed.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_00]: This is why we have to have
- 43:07[SPEAKER_00]: both parents in the home when it is healthy.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_00]: And if it's not in the home, at least having an amicable relationship to where we can cope parent and co-exist without the conflict because the kids, they see that when they're growing up.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: So that's, I'm just going off a life experience, right?
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, one of the other things though, true that I don't think people realize, I mean, specifically state, or maybe they do realize this,
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: I saw a statistic that actually said that a household, whether it's a single dad, or it's the dad, or the dad, and mom, has a less chance of the child even being incarcerated, I believe, and so there is a case to say that a two-parent household,
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, supports the community keeps kids out of jail, but then even when you start thinking about, you know, when you start thinking about a crime, right, you know, you know, kicking it, you know, the given incentives for the child or the father to be on child support number one.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: if he can't work and he don't have no skills, where do you think he's going to get money from?
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: Number one, right?
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: Number two, without the money in the household and the guy assistant, now the kid is running in the streets and then he becomes a lot, right?
- 44:35[SPEAKER_01]: And so all of this, it, you don't cycle, but it feels like, you know how they say the school, the prison pipeline?
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: It almost feels like the child support.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's a prison pipeline, and that is crazy that you say that because when you think about if there is no man in the home, to where that kid, there's no child support to where, I mean, there is the father's own child support and he's not in the home or he's not around or he goes to jail because they put in people in jail for a child support.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: You give a felony probation for not paying child support.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: He felony probation child.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_00]: There's a United States code that said you cannot go to jail for a dead unless it was dead based upon fraud.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_00]: So now you get in the felony probation.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_00]: You can't get a job.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_00]: How are you going to get the word?
- 45:30[SPEAKER_00]: You got to license suspended.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_00]: So now how are you like they're ruining your whole life?
- 45:34[SPEAKER_00]: Are you going to do the parent child exchange?
- 45:36[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_00]: How do you get your children to to to school?
- 45:38[SPEAKER_00]: How do you get your children to the doctors?
- 45:40[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like and these are these are questions that the department adjust is
- 45:47[SPEAKER_00]: a lot of stuff that you're doing is it's counterproductive.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_01]: So, man, it is deep.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: So, one of the pillars you have in the bill is equal parenting, right, creating the presumption that children benefit from substantial involvement from both the parents.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: So, why do you believe that this should be like a national standard?
- 46:08[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, because...
- 46:10[SPEAKER_00]: Nation there's parents and children nationally like this ain't just a Georgia thing It's just a California thing.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: This is a Texas thing.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is a United States of America It's and so when you when you when you look when you look at like child supporters to statistics It does is there any skewing like is there like you know Up north got the most child support cases it does like or is it like a equal footing like what is that what is that looking like?
- 46:38[SPEAKER_00]: There, when you look at that, as far as black people, Brown, most of their child support comes from urban communities.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_00]: And this is just outside of that.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_00]: The very first ad that I ran on Facebook, Facebook said, do you want us to target the people who this were most likely resonate with?
- 47:02[SPEAKER_00]: I let them do it.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_00]: When it came back, I looked at it.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_00]: Houston.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_00]: Atlanta.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: Wow Los Angeles.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_00]: Wow New York.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_00]: What Brooklyn Detroit.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_00]: Who was in these areas?
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, who was in these who I'm looking at this I said, whoa, they're specifically targeting us.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_00]: That was just something that I noticed, but there's a dear colleague letter in 2023.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: That the Department of Justice sent the child support in the court saying the exact same thing.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_00]: So it ain't just me.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_00]: This is the Department of Justice who said, hey, we see what y'all doing.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_00]: y'all gonna have some lawsuits and a lot of the stuff you're doing here is unlawful.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_00]: So yes, they're definitely targeting black and brown people.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_00]: Also in that in that dear colleague letter, they specifically said, they are targeting black and brown people.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_00]: in the actual dear colleague letter, they literally said it, they literally said it.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_00]: So with that, now we're talking about discrimination.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_00]: How can you get a fair child?
- 48:12[SPEAKER_00]: It all comes back to the new process.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: What would you say, right?
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody who may be hearing this, critics might say that you're trying to weaken child support laws, right?
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: What's the biggest misconception people have about what you're actually advocating for?
- 48:34[SPEAKER_00]: I 1,000% believe that after person is not taking care of their children, they need to be on child support 1,000% Yeah, it's no if and it's about it child support is for absent parents.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's where it was initiated on and I actually stand behind that Hmm child support absolutely is for absent parents if I'm present and I'm here fighting to have more time with my children child support is not for me
- 49:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's it's clean cutting dry.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_00]: So that's that's a misconception at people thinking that I'm trying to weaken the the child's process.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_00]: So no, I just wanted to be fair fair.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, just wanted to be equal because if we if we have equal, if we have equal rights parental rights, then
- 49:19[SPEAKER_00]: What do we, how did I become a knock-a-studio parent?
- 49:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because a knock-a-studio parent says that I've abandoned my children and family court.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: When did I do that?
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm here fighting for my children, how did I abandon them?
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_00]: Make it make sense.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_00]: I read the words and I look at the definition.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_01]: So, what we talking about, right?
- 49:35[SPEAKER_01]: Um, for parents watching this right now, right, um, who might be in a, in the middle of like a, a difficult co-parenting situation,
- 49:44[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, what's one thing that East parent could do immediately?
- 49:47[SPEAKER_01]: I pushed the child ahead of their personal differences.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's a, that's a good question.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_00]: Um, to put the child, uh, the only, for me, the only thing I can think of, right, is you just going to family court because there's, if you, if you have, uh, a person to wear, no matter what you do, yeah.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_00]: they're not intentionally keeping the children away from you.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like, how do you deal with that type of, how do you deal with that type of situation?
- 50:21[SPEAKER_00]: There's no reason in what this person, right?
- 50:23[SPEAKER_00]: So the only thing I could say is I have to go to family court and invoking my parental rights under Stanley versus Illinois's and Zantowski versus Cramer, which says that as a natural parent,
- 50:37[SPEAKER_00]: I have equal rights to these children.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_00]: Show me that there's been history of drugs, neglect or abuse, have not.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_00]: Show me what legal bases are you using to say, toward to create an unequal parenting relationship before me between me and my children.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_00]: Because outside of that is like, you have to continue to be there for your children.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: But when the other parent is intentionally parental alienating against you, there's no reason in what that type of person.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: Um, talk a little bit about, um, the other type of support, right?
- 51:10[SPEAKER_01]: Because beyond financial support, how do we encourage more like emotional, you know, physical and consistent, you know, parental involvement, uh, which is another pillar of your proposal.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_00]: So that, and that's part of where I'm saying as far as those incentives instead of using it to separate families, we can use
- 51:32[SPEAKER_00]: parents in classes to we can have because a lot of a lot of us grew up in single parent household.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_00]: So we don't know conflict resolution sure.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like we can incentivize parents to go in here and take classes to parental classes.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_00]: And learn how to do and put the children first.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_00]: So we you can now support them emotionally because back in the day,
- 51:59[SPEAKER_00]: You couldn't question your parents.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_00]: Which old parents said that, wait, that was that.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_00]: You don't ask nothing on touched, doesn't it?
- 52:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's just that.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_00]: Now, we're coming in and saying, no, you can't even, your kid can't even express to you how they feel because now, so when they say something, let me get out of here with that punk Ashley.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_00]: You out there like, that's about it.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_00]: Instead of actually listening to your children at an understanding them, we have to have conflict resolution.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_00]: We have to have parental education because
- 52:35[SPEAKER_00]: We know manual came with being a parent.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_00]: We learned it on the fly, and we try to get better as we have more children, or we're raising our children.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_00]: But even if you don't have more children, you still learn it on the fly, because as they get older, you're dealing with different things that you never dealt with before, yeah.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I say is like, just taking some of that money and creating parenting programs for parents, whether it's a men who...
- 53:06[SPEAKER_00]: didn't have their father in a home or whatever the case may be to give us the resources that we needed to actually going to therapy, talking about past traumas and how to deal with things that we dealt with in our family.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_00]: So we don't pass those same traumas on to our children.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, and I should only if the bringing families back together and child support equity
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: a beautiful place.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_00]: It would be a man you would see more fathers with their children.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_00]: More you would actually see more fathers with their children.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_00]: You would see
- 53:57[SPEAKER_00]: You're saying you need a break, we need this break.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_00]: But when you have both parents in it and you got this other parent that's coming in and your co-parenting, now you're raising a healthy nation, there's children don't have to be around conflict all the time, it made me think about what you just made me think about something, the my sister going to hate that I'm bringing this up, but it just made me think about it.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_00]: My nephew, he said to me one day, I look up to you, Uncle.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_00]: I love with you and until tomorrow I have.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_00]: I love what I have.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all, y'all don't be yelling.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_00]: There's no arguing.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_00]: And when he said that, I'm like,
- 54:48[SPEAKER_00]: because my sister and they, you know, they may go out at that time.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_00]: So it's just like they watch us, bro.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_00]: So when when you have a loving nurturing household, it just we can create a better.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_00]: future for our children and ultimately a better world to where and it is just don't have to deal with black people to I believe that that can ultimately deal we have these school shootings and all of these things and bullying and because a lot of the issues they don't know how to deal with these.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_00]: things that are going on in my body and how I feel, especially with the, the, the children now want to change genders at an early age.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_00]: Our world is changing.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_00]: So we have to, we have to adapt and change.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_00]: So when you're having
- 55:40[SPEAKER_00]: Well, if this bill passes today, yeah, this world would be a much better place because now you're looking at parents thriving.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_00]: As you, you would see income thriving because now both parents, there's when you have both parents, there's no child support.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_00]: So now there's no, no me now having all of my check going.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm boosting the economy, it can be a beautiful place.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I went and went for everybody.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, how does somebody go about, um, helping you, uh, get this build to a past in Congress?
- 56:16[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's, I was talking to, um, David and Donna yesterday and they asked me, like, what do, what are one of your biggest problems?
- 56:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought about it, and I was like asking other people for help, like that's been, that's always hindered me.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, I try to do so much by myself because asking just that, that's a actual trauma itself, just a disappointment.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_00]: So when I'm, how can a person help me is initially right now is my sharing a bill.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: If you can go to change.org, backslash, children need both or you can go to children need both.org.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_00]: Just share the petition.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_00]: Share the petition with one person that you know that deserves their children.
