- 1:11SPEAKER_00: So I'll be sure to subscribe at godanycals.com.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: So quick update on I guess happenings here at the ranch and and all of what's going on here.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Uh we are right in the middle of calving season.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: So we calve primarily in September and October.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Um, we're here in western Idaho, so we'd be counter-cyclical to most people.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Most most ranches around here are going to calve more so in the spring.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: We do primarily a fall calving program because that lets us do our embryo transfer work, which is the center of our business.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: We do that in December and January.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: So mid-winter, when the cattle are in and handy anyway, we can do all of that embryo transfer work, do all of that AI work, and then we calve primarily September, October.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: So that's been the busiest part of the last 30 days or so.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: I was also able to sneak away there for just a couple of days and and run just up the road.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: My family likes to do a quick getaway each fall, kind of between the the heaviest chunk of calving, and but before we bring cattle in and start breeding them back, we we try to get away for a few days, run just up to Lava Hot Springs, just just an hour north of us here, close enough that we can maintain our sanity.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Taking our our young kids, my my kids range from a seven-year-old to a newborn, uh, and there's four of them.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: And we can uh we can maintain our sanity on that short of a run, but the kids just love that, and and that is really fun to go go do some swimming, go uh go eat at some restaurants and go enjoy some time there as a family.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: So also had uh some visitors that came in just yesterday.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: We had Toby and Deidra Payne made the trip up from Texas.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Appreciate you, Toby and Deidra, taking the time to come up and making that flight, making that drive.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: And I always enjoy having people here in in person.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Um, it is always wonderful to be able to show people the cattle in person.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: I will show you as much as I possibly can via via video.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: We we show as much of the ranch as we can, as many of the cattle as we can, but there's just no beating um being here in person, being here live.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Would invite anyone that has any interest in coming out to the ranch.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Please do.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Um please reach out to me.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: You're welcome to call, text, email, message.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Uh my phone number is 208-589-9988.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Let me know when to expect you, and and uh we'll take you through the cattle, show you some good cattle, feed you a great Akiushi steak, really enjoyed uh looking at cattle and eating steak with Toby and Deidre yesterday.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Fun to have them here.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Visitors are always welcome at the ranch.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: So this podcast functions as a video catalog.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: So basically, what you'll end up seeing here is rather than us running a traditional auction where you would say, hey, everybody gets together on one day of the year and looks at the cattle in person to make that purchase.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Well, if that one day of the year doesn't work for you, you're kind of out of luck in that kind of a format.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: So we do offer online auctions each month, the last Wednesday of each month.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: And this podcast, we alternate between guest interview episodes and episodes with the cattle.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: So I've got the cattle right here behind me today, some of which we're going to be selling, some of which we're gonna be selling IVF aspirations on, uh, some of the bowls that we'll be selling semen on, different things like that.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Um, but hopefully be able to provide value to you whether you're looking to buy or whether you're just looking to inform yourself, especially relative to the Ake Usi or Red Wagyu breed, which we have a lot of stacked up behind me here today.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Um, be happy to kind of walk you through those cattle and give you a feel for what they are.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: But this podcast does function as a video catalog.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: So rather than just having pictures and footnotes in a in a physical catalog, or rather than just saying you have to come in person to see the cattle in person, uh, we do this as a video catalog where you see the cattle right here, just exactly as if you're in the pickup with me, and I walk you right through them and kind of what they are, how I bred them, why they why I have engaged in those genetics, and and why I'd recommend that someone else do the same.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: And so hopefully something informative whether you're looking to buy or not.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Um, so this month's auction will open the day this podcast is released, which will be October 15th this month.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Bid early.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: The prices will never be that low again.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: You'll get text reminders if you bid early on that smart auctions platform.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Uh, these live lots do include free delivery anywhere in the continental United States in the bid price.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: So don't worry about how to get them home.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: We'll take care of that.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: We will cover that cost on our end.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: And mark in your calendar, be there October 28th at 6 p.m.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Mountain time for closing.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: So that's going to be the last Wednesday of the month.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: It's the last Wednesday of each month is when we close these auctions.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: Mark in your calendar to be there for closing.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: So, and yeah, you know, one thing I wanted to talk about, uh just a good conversation I'd had in the last month that I wanted to mention here on the podcast, um, was chatting with my friend Glenn Sol, and he was talking about uh his boy, uh, you know, and looking at some opportunities in the in the cattle marketplace, and and was wondering kind of, you know, where where's the best place would where would you where would you tell your your son to put money, you know?
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: And I thought really valid question and appreciated Glenn making that call.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: And and I was just thinking about that, where would I tell my son to put his money in in the in the cattle business today?
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: Um and you know, I think one of the unique things about the current market environment is that right now the cattle market uh is at all-time highs.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: So your commercial cattle are worth more than they have ever been worth.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: Uh, so what you kind of see as far as a unique environment right now is that the the high end of uh commercial cattle are overlapping with with what you'd pay for registered stock.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: And so what I would recommend to somebody that's saying, hey, you know, if I was gonna borrow a dollar and spend it on a cow, what cow do I spend it on?
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: I would not be buying commercial cows at all-time market highs, frankly, because it will go back the other way.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: We got a hundred years of data that says it will.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Um, and I'm I can't tell you how far how fast, but I can tell you that those commercial cattle will lose money at some point as far as losing losing equity or losing value, uh, as far as what you pay for those cows today versus what the average commercial cow is going to be worth in a couple of years.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: But the opportunity I would say in that marketplace is saying, hey, you can buy registered cattle at similar figures to some of what these commercial cattle are trading at, what that turns into, for example, farm service agency, FSA, Farm Service Agency, will only ever loan you if you if you borrow through them.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: If you do, if you do one of the loan programs they have for youth or whatever else, or or they have loan programs if you're not able to qualify for a conventional note, different pieces like that.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: But if you work with FSA or the Farm Service Agency, they will only ever loan you commercial values for cattle.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: They will not loan you like it, doesn't matter what you're doing in registered stock.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: They are not gonna, a cow's a cow to them.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: It does not matter what cow she is, it does not matter how they're bred.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: So the challenge with that is in a normal year, they're gonna value a cow at 1,500 bucks.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: And a registered cow is worth a lot more than 1,500 bucks.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: But on a year like this year, there's plenty of commercial cattle trading for$5,000 plus.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: And you know, if you watch close, you can get on occasion a quality registered cow bought for five to seven thousand dollars.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: And if you can do that, if you say, hey, look, I can go borrow commercial money but buy registered cows, the beauty of that is instead of the market falling out from under you and you're losing equity faster than you're paying off cows, you're getting high quality cows bought with money that wouldn't normally be available to you.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: Does that make sense?
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: I guess you're borrowing commercial money but buying registered cows because they're at the same figures.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: You're still within the requirements of something like an FSA program, but you're able to get something that isn't going to devalue quickly, uh, like what the commercial cattle will do.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: Because a cow is just a cow, unless they are something like a registered cow or of known origin or or that fits a specific niche in the marketplace.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: So I would recommend if it was my son, uh, you know, I'd say, hey, if you were gonna borrow a dollar today from FSA to go buy a buy a cow, um, I'd buy a registered cow because you can get them at commercial money today because of those current market dynamics.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, and and I would, I'd recommend too.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: I'd I'd start sooner than later, you know.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, another some interesting things that I've listened to this month, you know, talking about uh so I've been listening to John Haskell a little bit there at RanchRite, and he's been talking about, you know, compounding money, the time value of money, cash flowing assets, meaning if you put money into something like a cow that is a cash flow generating asset, you put it in now, it's gonna make you way more money than if you wait two, five, ten, twenty years or whatever else to go ahead and get that first cow bot.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: If you can have that one cow become two, become four, become eight, become sixteen, the sooner you start that process, the sooner you your those those uh cash flowing assets start to compound and that time value of money goes to work for you.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: Um, so I would.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't wait.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: I'd recommend get going ahead and getting the cows bought.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: A cow bought today is gonna do a lot more long-term good for you, especially if you go and buy the right kind of cow that's not gonna devalue on you.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: You go and buy a high quality cow and and one that's gonna serve you well and that you want to retain the offspring from, but buying her now is gonna do you more good than buying her in one, two, five, ten, twenty years.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: Um, one other thing I would mention there too, you know, um I was listening to a web webinar from uh from Ag West uh from Dr.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Cole, Dr.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Dave Cole, you know, and and he was talking about inflation, you know, and and how things continue to get more expensive in that sense.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: And, you know, get your money into into cows that can appreciate in value for you or start multiplying for you rather than having your money sit.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: If your money sat just as money, frankly, the money is devaluing.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Like if the cash just sat as cash and it's not going to work for you, it's not going into a cash-flowing asset, it's not going into a multiplying asset.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, I mean, if I had waited until now to buy my first cow, I'd still just have a cow.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: But I bought a cow 20 some odd years ago ago, and now I have hundreds of cows.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: And it's not near so much a function of any particular brilliance on my part.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: It really comes down to I started very, very young and I got into cattle early and I let those cattle multiply and I let that cash flow, I reinvested that cash flow.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Um, I didn't go straight into spending every dollar we ever earned off it.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: I continued to reinvest and multiply and grow and build that herd.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: And so, really, what has put us in a happy position today, I guess, to make a living in cattle, doing something I enjoy doing, is a function of getting started, getting started early, but getting started early with quality cattle.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: So, anyway, a couple of conversations there between my my chat with Glenn or or some of what I'd listened to uh from John Haskell or from Dave Cole, all of those thoughts coming together.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: Anyway, just something I wanted to mention here between the overview of of kind of what's gone on the last month, but before I get into what all we're gonna be selling this month, um, I'd go ahead and get get into registered cattle and I'd do it sooner than later so that that that money can go to work for you and go further.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: The sooner you buy them, the sooner they start multiplying for you.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: So something I wanted to throw in right there.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna take you through some of these cattle that are right here in the pen behind me.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: The cow that is nearest the truck right now is gonna be the D40 cow.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: So D40 has been a donor for us here at Christensen Genetics.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: That female is American Wagyu Association registered.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Um so what that means is those American Wagyu Association registered cattle can also be registered in the American Akiushi Association and in the Australian Wagyu Association.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: The inverse is not true.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: So the beauty of having something that is registered with the American Wagyu Association, it keeps your options wide open to work with any of the associations, uh, wherever you'd prefer.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Um, this female has been the cornerstone, one of the cornerstones of our Kunasaki maternal line, our kunyaso maternal line here at Christensen Genetics.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: This is a really clean foundation pedigree.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: So this female is gonna be a big owl over Hikari over Kunasaki.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: And so what you're gonna see with a female like that, and again, the female nearest the truck, is the one we're looking at.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: There's three females in the pen that are in the pen right here behind me.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: We're looking at the cow nearest the truck, um, giving us a really good view as to what she is and kind of some of the strengths that we see from this cow.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: This is gonna be a really long-bodied cow.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: This is gonna be a cow that's got a little bit more frame, a little bit more extension, a little bit more size.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: And the beauty of a cow like this, if you're looking to add a little bit of that frame, that stretch, that size, but then with a pedigree that is so, so unique in the breed today.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Now, when we look at the Akuchi breed at large, there were only ever 13 cows and six bulls that left Japan.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: So, what that turns into is a really, really, really finite gene pool to work with.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: So, if we're looking for added genetic breadth, we're trying to bring some of those original import females, especially right to the front of the pedigree because frankly, those six bulls you can still get semen on.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: It's expensive, but you can still get semen on them.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: The cows, by contrast, are dead and gone.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Most all those cows that came in from Japan in the 90s would be when they arrived in the 1990s.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: Those cows are dead and gone.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: Their daughters are dead and gone.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: Most all of their granddaughters are dead and gone.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: And so, to get a female like this that is a granddaughter of one of the original import cows in that Kunasaki female gives you a really unique pedigree and just gives you more room to work as far as additional pedigree breadth when you take a look at this.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: The other benefit you're gonna get from this cow that's standing in nearest the truck right now, she is confirmed pregnant to the Maestro bowl.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: So, Maestro is a bowl that we have not released semen on yet.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: So the only way to access Maestro Genetics at this point in time is to buy a confirmed bred female from Christiansen Genetics.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: It's the only place you can get it.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: The Maestro bowl is incredibly unique from a pedigree standpoint.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: Maestro is going to be a son of Master Chef and the Katie Maru clone that we have here at Christiansen Genetics.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: So, Master Chef, the Sire, gonna be a bowl that costs thousands per straw, if you can find it.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: It's a bowl that adds a ton of gainability to him.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: Came in, was imported, the semen was imported from Australia.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: That's gonna be a bowl that adds a lot of gainability, in addition to being a direct grandson on the top side of the pedigree of the original import cow Ume.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: So if we're looking to bring that Ume cow to the front of the pedigree, if we're looking to bring something rare and valuable on the sire side of the pedigree and that growth, that's what the Master Chef side of that deal does.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: And then if you take a look at the Katie Maru cow, Katie Maru is gonna be, I mean, she's thick, she's stout, she's impressive.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: She is the cow that people come here to see.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: They come take pictures with that cow.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: Super well-mannered kind of a cow, exceptionally good mannered, exceptional from a pedigree standpoint.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: She'd be a direct the only um that cow is gonna be uh direct daughter of the Daitan Mitsumaru bull.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Um, and so that bull never left Japan.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Semen from that bull never left Japan.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Uh, she's a clone of the original cow Katie Maru, who produced the Umamaru bull.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: Um, and Mow is gonna be our number one all-time uh Akiyushi cow for actual carcass ultrasound as far as the amount of marbling.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: So you're gonna get great dispositions, great muscle, great marbling, all from the bottom side of that pedigree in that maestro bowl.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: And Maestro is the service sire of this cow that we're looking at here.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: This cow that's nearest the truck right now to be the D40 cow, which is gonna be lot one in this October auction, is the D40 donor.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: And a female like that is one that absolutely can go and make a ranch money, can absolutely be a cow that you build around.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: This is a cow that we have built around here that we have used to make embryos, um, that we have got sons of, daughters of.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: We've got enough of this cow here to add that pedigree breadth to our program.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: Want to provide the opportunity for another program to do the same.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: There's still plenty of life in this cow.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: You can take a look at her and see that she is doing well, she's in good flesh, she's strong topped, she's large outlined, she comes with free delivery anywhere in the continental United States included.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: Absolutely a cow that you can get your money's worth out of.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: She kind of getting two for the price of one.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: You've got a bull calf in the belly, sired by Maestro, due for February 27th, is when she's gonna calve.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: And then this female herself is American Wagyu Association registered, big Al over Hikari over Kunasaki.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: Um, you can absolutely get your money's worth out of a cow like that.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: That is a donor caliber cow.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: She has been a donor here, deserves to be a donor wherever she goes.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Uh, take a look at lot one D40.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: Now, the other two females that are in the pen, I'm gonna just kind of take a look at them as far as how well we can see them right now.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: So the female on the far left, we can see about three-quarters of her right now.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: All three of them are penned there together.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: The far left female, the dark red female of these three, um, would be the one that we can see second best in the pen as it sits right now.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: We can at least see the business end of that cow and get a good feel for it for what she looks like and who she is.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: That dark red female on the far left there is gonna be the 3370 donor.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: Um, and lot 11 in this auction is gonna be an IVF aspiration of that 3370.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Took an incredible picture.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: I'll have Jacob throw that up here.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: You can take a look at at the picture of this cow as well, just so you can get a really good view of her.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: Taking a look at that 3370, I mean, love the depth of body on that cow, love the depth of side on that cow.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: Really pretty cow, really well put together.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Um, she is gonna be a direct daughter of JC Rushaw 75, and she is pulled.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: And so those two things, the parts that make that unique.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: So the JC Rushaw 75 bull brought half a million dollars for the bull and his semen inventory.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: It's not available on the open market, so it's not a bull you can just go use any day of the week that is gonna be difficult to acquire semen.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: Um, and then that bull also won uh at Houston, a national show on two consecutive years, was the highest marbling bull on actual carcass ultrasound against all comers, both black and red wagyu.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: And we can get a good look now at this 3370.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: She's kind of peeled out around again.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: The far left female, she's pointed right at us.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: Now, you can see the depth of body and width of body, especially.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: This female has a lot of capacity, is one of the things I really appreciate about her.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: Good good uh width of chest.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: She's gonna be deep in the heart girth, uh, not at all pinched through there.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: Uh uh, polled female and a direct daughter of JC Rushaw 75.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: So, looking at a female like this, not only is she a JC Rushaw 75 daughter, but she's pulled.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: So, when we talk about an animal being pulled, that means naturally hornless.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I mean when we talk about a trait that just makes life easier.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: If we're gonna talk about one trait that makes things simple or makes things more enjoyable when it comes to working cattle, it's gonna be that pulled gene.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: Um, so pulled, naturally hornless cattle, that gene is dominant to the horn gene.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: So this female is a heterozygous polled female.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: She's got one copy of that pulled gene.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: Uh, she herself is pulled.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Um, but the beauty of those pulled cattle by de-horning genetically rather than physically, I mean, when we take a look at it, you have three options when it comes to horns on cows.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: Either A, you can have an animal that's horned and you leave the horns on, and that causes all sorts of issues.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: You know, they can gash each other up, they can get stuck in chutes, they can get stuck in trailers, they can get stuck in feeders, they just there's problems.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: When you and if you've got one horned animal, they're gonna beat everything else to death in the pen, and they can be dangerous to people.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: So horns left on are a problem.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Um, when it comes to dehorning, i.e., physically removing the horns, now you've got something that's stressful for people, it's stressful for cattle, it takes time, it takes effort, it is not a pleasant job.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: It is gonna set those cattle back, it can open them up for an infection.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: And today, in the southern part of the country, dealing with New World screw worm, which is a fly that literally lays flesh-heating maggots, this can be the difference between life and death, is if we do or do not open up an animal's head, but open wounds on top of a head removing horns.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: And that third option, rather than having horns or having to remove horns, is to use polled genetics.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Um, and polled genetics, I mean, if you talk to the guys here, talk to Aaron and Billy and everybody else that that works with me here.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: I mean, if you talk about one thing that just makes life easier or makes life simpler or makes it so much, so much more pleasant when a calf comes in the chute, you run your hand over their head, there are no horns there, as opposed to there being a job to be done.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: Um, just an absolutely valuable trait to be polled.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: And and so that's what makes this female on the far left so unique is not only is she a direct daughter of a high value bull that adds a lot of marbling and a lot of marketability, rare and valuable genetics on the top side, but then that is a polled purebred female.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: So it would be be one of the very, very few polled purebred JC Rushaw 75 daughters in existence.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: And what we're offering in lot 11 is gonna be an IVF aspiration.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: So, anyone that's unfamiliar with an IVF aspiration, what you're looking at there is the right to aspirate that cow one time.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: So one IVF aspiration means we take that cow for you right over to WindStar Genetics.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: They're gonna remove a set of unfertilized egg cells from that cow.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: You get to choose the sire that we're gonna use on those unfertilized egg cells.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: You choose the sire that is gonna be the sire of those embryos produced from that IVF aspiration.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: Um, if I if you're asking me my recommendation, I'd sure take a look at the PhD or heavy-duty semen in this sale.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Um the PhD bull and heavy duty bull, both homozygous pulled bulls.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: Uh, so we're gonna keep those horns off.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: The PhD bull uh has a female sexed option.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: So if you're looking for female sexed semen to control the gender of those calves with 90% accuracy, go with that PhD bull.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: Um, as well as if you're looking to stick those embryos into to heifers, into virgin heifers for recips, I'd go with PhD.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: Um, and that is gonna give you better odds of unassisted calving.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: The PhD bull is a calving ease bull, and heifers are born more easily than bulls are.
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: So that PhD.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Female sex seman to be your Caving Ease option and your female sex option.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: Whereas the heavy duty bull, um, loved the heavy duty bull, ton of gainability there, ton of performance there.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: The bull weaned at 738 pounds at seven months of age without corn.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: I mean, you're looking at something that's gonna be as heavy at seven months of age as what most of these Akushi cattle are gonna be at more like a year of age.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: Uh, so a lot of gainability in that pedigree, both his damn and his grand damn uh scan prime plus on actual carcass ultrasound.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: Um, so you got lots of marbling, lots of gain.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: That dog is puppy dog gentle.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: If I was to say the most mellow of all of the bulls I have ever bred, it's gonna be heavy duty.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: The heavy duty bull, dog gentle, homozygous pulled, high growing, high marbling.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: If you buy this IVF aspiration on Lot 11, which again is that female on the far left, the dark red cow, deep-bodied cow, big capacity kind of a female.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: If you buy that IVF aspiration, we are gonna guarantee you get at least three female sexed embryos if you use female sex semen, or five conventional embryos if you use conventional semen.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: And we will not cap you.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: If there's more embryos, you get all of them.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: You do pay for the production cost of those embryos separate, budget about 200 an embryo to get that done.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: Um, and the one other thing I will mention on that female, as you can see right now, you can see that white tag, that big white tag uh in her left ear that sits there, it's kind of kind of flapping, it's kind of got a got a flat surface up on top.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: That is an XT Pro tag from 701x.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: I'd invite you to go back and take a look at that 701x episode that we did with Scott Holt.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: Um, that XT Pro tag monitors that cow's location, her health, whether or not she's calving, whether or not she's in heat.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Let's me know if she's out of her fence, lets me know if if she's um traveling at a high rate of speed, like in a trailer, lets me know if she's not traveling as much as she should, as in she's sick.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: Um, anyway, really, really, really valuable thing to put in a high-value animal like that.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: Uh, again, looking at a polled JC Rushaw 75 daughter here.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: Um, but what we're offering in lot 11 is an IVF aspiration, and like I just mentioned that thing you can see sticking out of her right ear right now, that's an XT Pro tag.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: Um, would mention uh that that's anyway a viable option for anybody looking to be able to remotely monitor everything possible on their cattle.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: So that's gonna be everything about that 3370.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: Um, the other female in the pen, the third female in that pen, this first pen that we're looking at, she's gonna be the far female from the truck right now.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: So there's three females in the pen.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: She is the far back female of those three.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: Um, and that is gonna be the 3423 female.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: She has lot two in this auction.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: So if you're looking for a female in this auction that she herself is is part of what you're buying in the lot, and she comes with a heifer calf in the belly.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: So you're getting two females for the price of one.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: Don't miss lot two.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: Lot two, again, the far back female there, she's gonna be the one that we're we're not getting quite as good of a look at her right now.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: So I'll have Jacob throw in an image of her, a picture of her.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: Uh, this picture that you're looking at now is gonna be of her as a bred heifer.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: Um, and we'll take a look at that picture, and I'm sure we'll get a chance to see the female live here on the video as she and the other animals in the pen continue to move around a little bit there.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: But um until she does give us a good look, we'll just take a look at this good picture of her to give you a good feel of what 3423 is.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: So 3423, again, gonna be an American Wagyu Association registered female, 100% Japanese origin.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: She'd be a full blood cow.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: She is sired by Master Chef, that, like I mentioned, very valuable bull on the top side of the pedigree, an Ume Grandson, high growth, uh, rare and valuable kind of genetics there.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: Bottom side of that pedigree is straight original imports as well, looking at big al over Shigamaru, over Tamamaru, over Akiko.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: And we can get a better view looking at her on the video now.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: So she'd be the middle of those three cows, not the one on the left or on the right.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: The left cow is D40 that we are selling outright as lot one.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: The far right cow is that that dark red cow is 3370 that we're selling the IVF aspiration is lot 11.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: The middle cow, the one that is in the middle of the three, that's on the far back there, that's gonna be the 3423 cow lot to uh the master chef daughter.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: And she is carrying a heifer calf sired by Maestro.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: And so that heifer calf is gonna be double double master uh master chef bread calf, gonna be line bread, master chef.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: So line bread to one of the really good bulls in the breed.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Uh this female comes with free delivery anywhere in the continental United States, included in the bid price.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: The only way to get a hold of Master Chef Genetics at this point is to buy those cows that have been live covered by him here at Christensen Genetics.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: That bull has not had semen released on the open market.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: Um, so if you're looking for maestro genetics, this is how you get them.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: If you want a maestro daughter, help yourself here.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: The cow herself is a master chef daughter.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: She's bred to a master chef son in Maestro backed by the Katy Maru cow.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: So that baby that you're gonna get out of this cow, the cow in the middle, 3423, is gonna be both a master chef granddaughter and a Katy Maru granddaughter.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: So unique, unique opportunity there in lot two.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: That's gonna be the 3423 cow.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: Um, and without further ado, we'll jump to the next pen.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: Alright, so looking at this pen of cows, we're gonna start with the female on the far left there, which is gonna be the lot three female 4437.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: Um, this is a really, really nice young heifer.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: Uh, you know, when I had Toby and Deidra here the other day, we were looking through heifers and and this animal absolutely stands out.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: I told them they kind of have an unfair advantage relative to anybody that's not been here in person.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: Just to understand just how good that 4437 is.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: This is a female that you may not quite understand just how good she is if you only looked at the paper.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: If you only looked at the pedigree and that was all you saw or all you knew about her, you might not understand just how good she is.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: Um, but that 4437 female there, she's just kind of spinning around now.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: She's coming into the middle, she's on the back fence, is the female that we're looking at right now.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: So the cow on the back fence right now, 4437, that's gonna be a Hiro Mitsu daughter out of the 021E donor.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: Um, so a couple of different things that kind of makes that female unique, but I would say first and foremost, I don't want anybody to get too distracted here on, I mean, the pedigree, obviously, I'll go through it and explain kind of what it is and what it isn't.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: But the thing that really makes this female unique is the look.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: If you want a female that you can say, hey, if you just hucked the papers in the garbage can and all you did was went and looked at cows in the pen, this is the heifer you would find.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: Um, so again, of the three females we're looking at right now, she'd be on the back fence, uh, is the cow we're looking at.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: And 4437, just gonna be a thick, stout, impressive, attractive kind of a female.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: And that's where I'd like to focus on that kind of a cow is if you went ahead and bought lot three in this auction.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: So I'd recommend go ahead and get that bid in on her early because she is priced cheaper right now than she is gonna be at any point in time in the future, between now and when this auction closes on the last Wednesday of the month.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: Um, but this 4437 female, I'd absolutely keep an eye on her for just a good-looking cow.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: If that's what you're after, is not just an Okushi, but a really impressive Okushi, one that really looks the part.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: Um, that's what I would recommend you take a look at here would be this this female, now kind of on the far left, but on the back fence there, the 4437.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: Um, gonna be a really good-looking female.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: She's also exposed to maestro.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: Now, I will mention, I'll put emphasis on the word exposed.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: So this female has been in a pen with maestro, she will continue to be in a pen with maestro.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: This female has not been vet confirmed pregnant uh by ultrasound.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: So she's just cells as exposed.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: So that means that when this female gets to you, she could be pregnant from maestro.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: She is pregnant, I will guarantee her bred to maestro, or she could be open.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: So take a look at this female.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: As you're for sure getting the cow herself, you may be getting a pregnancy, but are not guaranteed to be getting a pregnancy.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: So I want to be clear about where she's at as far as breeding status.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: Um, this is gonna be a Hiramitsu over O21E female.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: So looking at Hiro Mitsu, the thing that you're getting there is a double shot of Katie Maru.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: Hiramitsu is an umaru son um out of the Tamamuru or out of the Katy Maru 2 cow.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: Um, and a beautiful bull in his own right, and you can see that come through in this 4437 and how good looking a female this is.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: A couple of neat things about the Hiro Mitsu bull.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: Um, Hiramitsu himself would have been broke to lead by my friend Jim Moore there at JMK Cattle.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: And Jim mentioned, you know, some animals can really be hard to get halter broke.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: He said when it comes to Hiramitsu, it should be the sire of this heifer we're looking at here.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: He just kind of walked out in the pen and threw a halter on.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: And and Jim can correct me if I understood that story wrong.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: But the point was the bull was mellow, mellow, easy, easy to break the halter.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: Two-time national champion bull, and you can see why.
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: That has come through in this female that's coming around on the far left side again.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: She'd be on the back fence.
- 30:35SPEAKER_00: That's the 4437 female.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: Really pretty cow, really good, uh, good to look at.
- 30:41SPEAKER_00: Um, and you can see where she gets it from that Katie Maru influence via Hiramitsu on the top side of the pedigree.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: Now, her mother is gonna be the 021E donor, BRW Kajumiko 021E.
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: Um, and you know, like again, I'd focus in on the looks of this female.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: I'm getting distracted looking back at her on the far left there.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: Um, good, good looking female.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: This is kind of gonna be the cow that catches your eye, the heifer that catches your eye.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: If you were in the pen of just heifers, that's gonna be the female you'll gravitate towards.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: She has always stood out in that crop.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: But her mother, the O21E donor, is gonna come from the Namiko maternal line.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: So the same maternal line that produced um the D18 donor for my good friend uh Doug, or my good friends, Doug and A.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: B Slayby at Slayby Akiushi Ranch.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: Um, the O21E comes from that same Namiko maternal line as the D18 donor.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: Um, and 4437 kind of brings together you're looking at that Katie Marie influence on the top side, Namiko influence on the bottom, exposed to Maestro.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: Um, great looking female.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: That's what you're gonna get in lot three, is a beautiful young cow with her whole lifetime production ahead of her, delivered to your ranch, um, included in the bid price, lot three, 4437.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: Now there's two other females in this pen.
- 31:52SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna jump to the cow that is in the middle.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: So of these three cows that we're looking at right now, the one sitting right in the middle, uh gonna have a ton of barrel to this cow, a lot of width, the base, a lot of capacity, a lot of belly.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: Um, that's gonna be the lot 12 donor.
- 32:07SPEAKER_00: So 3511, we are offering an IVF aspiration on her.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: Um and that lot 12 donor, what makes her so unique is she is a pulled purebred from the Haruko maternal line.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: So, again, walking through all those benefits of making the cattle naturally hornless, in addition to saying, hey, we want to get as many of those maternal lines, those original import cows, as close to the front of the pedigree as we can to give ourselves room to work as far as pedigree breadth and genetic diversity for long-term breeding objectives.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: This 3511 female does both.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: So this female is gonna be both a pulled purebred and a direct maternal descendant of the Haruko cow.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: And we're selling an IVF aspiration on her.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: Again, minimum minimum guarantee of at least three female sex embryos or at least five conventional embryos, with the hope being that you're gonna get at least one heifer calf from this purchase via those embryos.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: Uh, this can be a really, really cost-effective way to get into the cattle.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: It puts you in the driver's seat as to who you want to use as a sire.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: Again, my recommendation for a pulled donor like this is gonna be either the PhD bowl for a calving-ease option that's also available in female-sexed semen, or the heavy-duty bowl for a growth-oriented bowl with great docility and and great marbling behind him.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: So lot 12 is gonna be that pulled Haruko donor and IVF aspiration to the sire of your choice.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: Um, we will guarantee at least three female sexed embryos or five conventional with no cap.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: Uh, my recommendations would be either PhD or heavy duty for a sire to use on that lot 12 IVF aspiration to give you an outcross, um, pulled purebred Aukushi set of embryos.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: Now, the third female in the pen that is just laying down there and just hanging out, um, I think that exemplifies kind of how that cow is.
- 33:55SPEAKER_00: That cow is just mellow, that cow is easy mannered.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm gonna have Jacob throw a quick picture of her in right here at this point in the video, just to show you just how long this cow is.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: This is an extremely long-bodied female, very, very similar in pattern to her mother, RMW Hoshiko D18.
- 34:13SPEAKER_00: So D18 sold for$104,000.
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: Again, mentioned my friends uh at Slay Akeyushi Ranch, purchased that cow.
- 34:21SPEAKER_00: Love the D18 cow.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: The D18 cow was initially there at Cherokee Akeyushi Ranch with Justin Stamps.
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: Justin had bought a great set of cows, had a really nice set of donors there.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: I remember seeing those cattle in Oklahoma, and out of that whole bunch, I remember asking Justin, which one do you have too many pictures of?
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: You know, which one of these cows is absolutely your favorite?
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: And he said, Oh, without question, it'd be the D18 cow.
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: And I remember visiting there in Oklahoma, and I agree.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: Going through that whole bunch of cows, and there were a bunch of good cows there.
- 34:49SPEAKER_00: But the queen of that set was that D18 cow.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: Doug was absolutely right to spend the money he did to get that cow purchased.
- 34:55SPEAKER_00: Um, this 050L would be lot 10.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: An IVF aspiration on this cow will be lot 10 uh in this auction, closing the last Wednesday of October in 2026.
- 35:06SPEAKER_00: Um, this 050L donor is sired by Big Al, the original import bull, who is in turn sired by Daitan Mitsumaro out of the original import Akiko.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: So Big Al would be the first Akiushi bull ever born in the United States.
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: Um, and he's the sire of this female.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Her mother is D18.
- 35:23SPEAKER_00: You can see as she just lays down and hangs out there, mellow, mellow, easy mannered, not gonna get worked up, kind of a cow.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: Love the disposition and the fertility and the length of body would be three of the things that really stand out about both D18 herself and this daughter, uh, the O5OL donor.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: Um, so O5OL, we're selling an IVF aspiration, same guarantee as before, at least three female sex or at least five conventional.
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: This donor has made up to 13 embryos in a single IVF aspiration before.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: So if you're looking for a high, highly productive um female, if you're looking for a cow that you can really get your money's worth out of that IVF aspiration, those embryos do not cost you very much at all.
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: If you only have to pay, you pay one flat money for the aspiration, and then it will cost you$200 an embryo in lab production costs to have WindStar make those embryos for you.
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: Um, my recommendation for sires on this female.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: Now, you are as the buyer, you are in the driver's seat.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: You can do whatever you want to do as far as a sire for this set of embryos for you.
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: Um, but my recommendation will be the maroon bull.
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: Um, we are releasing maroon in in this month's auction, so you can be the first to have maroon embryos.
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: We don't even have them here yet.
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'll tell you, maroon himself, very excited about the bull.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: I absolutely will be using the bull.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: Like I mentioned, we don't breed here till December.
- 36:47SPEAKER_00: So you'd have a 60-day lead on anyone.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: I haven't used the bowl, no one else has used the bowl.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: If you want to be on the very front edge of a truly elite next generation bull, I would absolutely jump on that maroon bowl.
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: We also have female sexed semen available on that bowl if you want to jump up to a female sexed option.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: Um, and you could easily make a big old set of embryos off this 050L donor, and you're tying together the Katy Maru cow and all of her value, the D18 cow and all of her value, this donor herself, mellow, long-bodied, highly fertile.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: Um, I think there's a real opportunity to be had there.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: And I should mention, for anyone that buys any of these IVF aspirations or any of the embryos that are available in this sale, you also have the option to use our recips.
- 37:31SPEAKER_00: Now, we have had a lot of call for this.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: We have a lot of people want to use our recips.
- 37:35SPEAKER_00: I am really picky about the cows we use to carry our embryo transfer calves.
- 37:39SPEAKER_00: They are a really nice set of cows.
- 37:42SPEAKER_00: I do not sell very many of them, and we are only going to sell those to people that buy their embryos here.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but if you buy your embryos here, and this would include IVF aspirations to make embryos here from your choice of sires over your choice of donors, um, you will be eligible to use our recips if you so choose.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: If you choose to do that, it is$100 per embryo implanted.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: Um, and that just covers that covers feed, that covers synchronization, that covers technician uh to get those implanted, and that's on every embryo implanted, and then you pay$5,000 per confirmed pregnant recip.
- 38:15SPEAKER_00: You pay nothing if the embryo doesn't stick, you only pay to have it implanted, you do not buy the cow, um, and that's the biggest benefit of a program like that.
- 38:22SPEAKER_00: You're not gonna end up owning cows that you wanted to have carry embryos, but that are open or that are late bred or that didn't carry embryos.
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: What you're gonna have is you will only buy the cows that are confirmed pregnant to the embryo of your choice.
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: Um, you're looking at$5,000 a piece uh to get those bought.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: Um, and then you own that recip outright, you own the baby in the belly outright.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: Um, those are gonna be quality cows handpicked by me from known sources, known ages, known histories.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: The works.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: These these are the best, these are the best recips in the business.
- 38:53SPEAKER_00: If you're looking to have a good set of cows carry a really nice calf for you, we will give you that option if you buy your embryos here.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: So if you're buying embryos here or IVF aspirations here, I can get them into really high quality recips for you.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: 100 apiece to implant the embryo, 5,000 per confirmed pregnant recip.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: And then you can use my my uh shippers, which would be David Tanner doing the booking, usually uh Matthew Farr running the trucks right now.
- 39:18SPEAKER_00: Um, you can use them uh at my cost if you want to use them to ship, or you can ship however you'd prefer to ship those cattle.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: Um, but that's what you're looking at as far as options that are open to you if you buy that aspiration.
- 39:29SPEAKER_00: Uh, but that is going to be lot 10, the 050L donor, big Alli over D18.
- 39:34SPEAKER_00: I'd recommend taking her to Maroon.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: Uh, I'd go female sex semen if it were me and make a set of uh Katy Maroon and D18 granddaughters that no one else has because I don't even have the maroon calves yet.
- 39:48SPEAKER_00: You can have a 60-day lead on me if you go ahead and get that stuff bought now.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: So that'd be my recommendation for lot 10.
- 39:55SPEAKER_00: So looking at this bull on the far right here, this is gonna be the maroon bull.
- 40:00SPEAKER_00: So maroon is gonna be the natural calf from the Katie Maroon clone.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: Katie Maroon, like I mentioned, gonna be thick, stout, impressive, super to look at, kind of a cow, incredibly unique pedigree, incredibly unique marbling, incredibly unique muscle and build, incredibly unique docility.
- 40:15SPEAKER_00: Um, easily our most valuable full blood cow is gonna be the mother of this maroon bowl.
- 40:20SPEAKER_00: Um, so maroon, again, gonna be, I guess, nearest the truck, but on the right there.
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: Um, so there's three smaller bowls that are kind of sitting out behind him.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: Maroon is gonna be the bowl closest to the truck right now, the other three smaller bowls farther away and out towards that fence there.
- 40:35SPEAKER_00: So looking at the maroon bowl, um, this is absolutely a unique stud and a couple of different really unique offerings that we're gonna go ahead and put out here in this October auction.
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: The maroon bowl is one I think a lot of.
- 40:47SPEAKER_00: This is a bowl we are going to be using ourselves here starting in December.
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: Um, I anticipate using this bowl in a significant volume.
- 40:54SPEAKER_00: This is a bowl we intend to tie into, a bowl we will continue to promote, a bowl that took an incredible picture.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: Um, I'll have Jacob throw that up at some point here.
- 41:03SPEAKER_00: Um, but look at that bowl as he walks closer to the truck here.
- 41:06SPEAKER_00: So now it'd be the bowl nearest the truck.
- 41:08SPEAKER_00: On the far left there uh is gonna be that maroon bowl.
- 41:11SPEAKER_00: This is a bowl that just kind of does it all.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: You know, as far as our selection criteria here, docility is the most important thing to us, and he is a docile bull.
- 41:19SPEAKER_00: Um, but really mellow mannered.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: Uh he was easy calving, he was born light, 77 pound birth weight, born unassisted.
- 41:27SPEAKER_00: Um, weaning weight on this bowl was 610 pounds, so an impressive weaning weight on the bowl, plenty of gain to the bull.
- 41:34SPEAKER_00: Um, his mother is gonna be our number one marbling cow on actual carcass ultrasound, so plenty of marbling to the bowl.
- 41:41SPEAKER_00: Um, and then mother is still a beautiful cow, doing fantastic as a 10-year-old cow now.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: Uh, so this is a bowl that we're gonna be using extensively here.
- 41:50SPEAKER_00: We're offering a couple of different things in this auction.
- 41:53SPEAKER_00: Lot 14 is gonna be a two-year lease on the maroon bowl.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: Um, this is a really, really exciting option to say, hey, you can take a stud caliber bowl that no one else has access to.
- 42:07SPEAKER_00: There's not another one of these out there.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: This bowl is one of one of this cross.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: This bowl hasn't even been used here yet.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: This bowl, I think, enough of that he will be used here and will be used here in significant volume.
- 42:18SPEAKER_00: Um, I think enough of this bowl that we put up conventional semen, we put up female sexed semen.
- 42:24SPEAKER_00: Um, and you can you can buy the live cover rights for the next two years by being the winning bidder on Mot 14.
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: So, what that two-year lease looks like, um, shipping is included.
- 42:34SPEAKER_00: Uh, and so you don't have to worry about paying for the the shipping to get this bowl uh to your place.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: Um, shipping is included in this two-year lease.
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: Um, you have the right to live cover use of this bowl, natural breeding service of this bowl for the next two years.
- 42:49SPEAKER_00: Uh, so basically, you're getting all of the volume or all of the quality of AI without any of the hassle, any of the added effort.
- 42:56SPEAKER_00: Um, really, really unique opportunity there.
- 42:59SPEAKER_00: I am gonna maintain ownership of this bowl.
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna maintain ownership of the semen rights on this bowl.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: So, semen rights will remain exclusively with Christians and genetics.
- 43:07SPEAKER_00: I will be using this bowl, I will be marketing this bowl, but the live cover rights for the next two years go ahead and turn out a super high caliber stud.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: Look at this bowl.
- 43:16SPEAKER_00: Look at the bowl again.
- 43:16SPEAKER_00: Nearest the truck here.
- 43:18SPEAKER_00: Um, the bowl that that uh would be the biggest of this set.
- 43:21SPEAKER_00: Uh, I mean, mellow mannered, easy cabin, fast gaining, good looking, plenty of marbling behind him.
- 43:27SPEAKER_00: I haven't even mentioned topside of the pedigree.
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: He's sired by the F-821 bowl who's gonna be a Rushaw over Viral.
- 43:34SPEAKER_00: Um, and so you're bringing in some unique and rare and valuable outcross genetics there.
- 43:38SPEAKER_00: Ru Shaw can sell for up to$22,000 a straw.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: Viril is thousands of straw per uh per straw if you can find it.
- 43:44SPEAKER_00: Brings the Miko right up front in that pedigree.
- 43:47SPEAKER_00: Um, really, really unique bowl here.
- 43:49SPEAKER_00: Um, don't overlook this.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think honestly, this is this is one of those bowls that can and should be going and covering a registered set of cows.
- 43:58SPEAKER_00: Um, a set of registered.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: Red waggy or Akeyushi cows would absolutely be the fit here.
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: If you were looking for a way to say, hey, how can we kind of get into seed stock caliber genetics without having a particularly developed AI program or embryo transfer program?
- 44:14SPEAKER_00: This is how you do it is to have a bowl of that caliber, of that quality turned out live covered on your cows.
- 44:20SPEAKER_00: Lot 14 is a two-year lease.
- 44:23SPEAKER_00: We will cover shipping him to you.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: We'll cover shipping him when he's done.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: We will maintain ownership of the bowl and semen sales on the bowl.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: Lot 26 is going to be the first straw of semen to sell on this bowl.
- 44:33SPEAKER_00: Can and should, and I would expect it to bring a significant premium.
- 44:38SPEAKER_00: That is a really unique bowl.
- 44:40SPEAKER_00: Again, that I have not even had a chance to use yet, but that I will be using heavily starting in December.
- 44:45SPEAKER_00: So you'd have a couple months of lead time there.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: There is female sexed semen available as well on this bowl.
- 44:50SPEAKER_00: So you have the option to pay a$500 premium and upgrade your semen purchase there to be in female sexed if you want to make 90% heifer calves.
- 44:59SPEAKER_00: But really unique opportunity here.
- 45:01SPEAKER_00: Don't be asleep at the wheel.
- 45:03SPEAKER_00: If you are an Akiushi seed stock breeder or aspiring to be one, do not miss out on having a bowl that caliber to walk your cows.
- 45:10SPEAKER_00: Or if you're looking at at making a high-end set of embryos, go ahead and buy one of the aspirations in this auction.
- 45:15SPEAKER_00: Use this female sex maroon semen.
- 45:18SPEAKER_00: You'd be the first one to be able to do so.
- 45:20SPEAKER_00: Lot 14 is the two-year lease.
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: Lot 26 is the semen on maroon.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: Winning Bitter has the option to upgrade to female sexed semen for an additional$500, is what you're looking at there.
- 45:32SPEAKER_00: So within this pen, we're going to jump to the bowl on the far left there.
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: So the farthest left of these four bowls that are in this pen right now is going to be the 55-15 bowl.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: Really big, really stout, really impressive kind of a bowl.
- 45:45SPEAKER_00: 738.
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: Oh, 748.
- 45:48SPEAKER_00: I misspoke.
- 45:49SPEAKER_00: 748 pounds at weaning.
- 45:52SPEAKER_00: One of our all-time heaviest weaning weights on a full-blood Akiyushi bowl.
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: This is going to be an Umamaru son out of a Rushaw by D18 donor.
- 46:01SPEAKER_00: And so you are stacking Umamaru who's a Hikari Maru's son, a Hikari over Katie Maru bowl over a Rushaw, who's 22 grand a straw, only national champion to ever leave Japan over the 104,000 RMW, 104,000 RMW Hoshiko D18, and you're getting a bowl that looks like that.
- 46:19SPEAKER_00: That bowl on the far left there, big, thick, stout, heavy, impressive gainability, 748 pounds at weaning.
- 46:27SPEAKER_00: Um, we are gonna sell that bowl outright as lot five, as well as selling uh the first unit of semen on that bowl as lot 28.
- 46:35SPEAKER_00: So if your target is performance, gainability, disposition, pedigree, that bowl has it all.
- 46:42SPEAKER_00: Absolutely one of the very, very, very best bowls um of this calf crop, one of the heaviest weaning bowls in the history of our program for a full-blood Okiushi bowl, 748 pounds of weaning, umumaru over rushaw over d18, lot five comes with free delivery included anywhere in the continental US, or lot 28 is gonna be the first unit of semen on that bowl.
- 47:03SPEAKER_00: Don't miss out, that bowl is big time.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: Um over shot over D18.
- 47:08SPEAKER_00: Um, big, big, big time kind of a bowl to own there.
- 47:12SPEAKER_00: Jumping now, looking within this pen, we've got another couple of bowls that we're gonna take a look at here.
- 47:17SPEAKER_00: Um, we're gonna take a look at the bowl in the in the back corner there right now.
- 47:21SPEAKER_00: So from the left, it'd be the second bowl from the left, kind of in the back corner, just stepping out of the back corner now.
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: Second bowl from the left.
- 47:28SPEAKER_00: This is gonna be a homozygous pulled bowl.
- 47:31SPEAKER_00: So lot four is gonna be the 5610 bowl, homozygous pulled, sired by Guapo out of the Pulled Queen 88 donor.
- 47:39SPEAKER_00: So a homozygous pulled bowl will sire pulled calves every time.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: No matter what you made him to, you could breed that bowl to a Texas longhorn and he would take the horns off.
- 47:49SPEAKER_00: Um, that bull is gonna sire only pulled calves.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: He's homozygous pulled, which means he's got two copies of that polled gene.
- 47:56SPEAKER_00: So he's gonna be the far left bull right now.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: 5610 lot four, homozygous pulled.
- 48:02SPEAKER_00: That's a guapo sun out of the polled queen donor.
- 48:05SPEAKER_00: Uh, if you're looking to take all the horns off, all your calves, all the time, take a look hard look at that lot four.
- 48:11SPEAKER_00: Now jump into the bowl that's on the far right there.
- 48:13SPEAKER_00: So the far right bowl um is gonna be the fate bowl.
- 48:17SPEAKER_00: Lot 15 is gonna be a two-year lease on that bowl.
- 48:20SPEAKER_00: Um, he is sired by F-821 and out of the Hitomi 1270Z cow.
- 48:26SPEAKER_00: So that is the only AWA registered Hitome Maternal Line bull in the entire American Wagyu Association database.
- 48:35SPEAKER_00: So looking at the bowl on the far right, you'd be back into the corner there.
- 48:39SPEAKER_00: Um, that is a son of CGX Hitomi 1270Z.
- 48:43SPEAKER_00: So the Hitomi Maternal Line in the American Wagyu Association database, there are no other bulls, period, at all, in the American Wagyu Association database from the Hitomi Maternal Line.
- 48:56SPEAKER_00: It's him or him.
- 48:57SPEAKER_00: So lot 15 is gonna be the uh the 5505 bull.
- 49:02SPEAKER_00: He's sired by that same F-821, so Rushau over Viral on the top side of the pedigree.
- 49:06SPEAKER_00: And then his mother is Hitomi 1270Z, who's gonna be a Tamamarie over Big Al over 12 over Hitomi.
- 49:13SPEAKER_00: Um, so the value and the benefit in a bowl like that, that bowl in the back corner there, um, second from the truck on the far right side there.
- 49:21SPEAKER_00: Uh, that bowl is going to be the only American Wagyu Association registered Hitomi Maternal Line bowl.
- 49:28SPEAKER_00: Um, first unit of semen to sell on that bowl sells as lot 27.
- 49:32SPEAKER_00: Lot 15 is gonna be a two-year lease on that bowl.
- 49:35SPEAKER_00: We are gonna maintain ownership of that bowl.
- 49:37SPEAKER_00: Um, do you want to have an option on continuing to collect that bowl in the future after this lease is completed?
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: Winning Bidder is gonna have the right to live cover use of that bowl for the next two years.
- 49:47SPEAKER_00: We will cover delivery.
- 49:48SPEAKER_00: I will maintain ownership and continue to market semen on that bowl.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: Um, but that is the only uh Hitomi Maternal Line bowl in the entire American Wagyu Association database.
- 49:58SPEAKER_00: BOP 15 CGX Fate 5505N.
- 50:02SPEAKER_00: All right, we are looking at this big bowl that is nearest the truck.
- 50:06SPEAKER_00: And I mean that is a big bull.
- 50:09SPEAKER_00: A big bowl.
- 50:10SPEAKER_00: Like, if you want performance, if you want gas, if you want gainability, if you want pounds to sell at weaning, you want this 3336 bowl.
- 50:19SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know how to make them gain any faster than that.
- 50:21SPEAKER_00: I mean, that is a big gaining type of bowl.
- 50:25SPEAKER_00: 3336 is gonna be in the top 1% of the entire Angus breed for weaning weight at 106 and yearling weight at 185.
- 50:33SPEAKER_00: Um, that is a big time growth kind of a bowl.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: You're looking at weaning eight, nine weight kind of calves here.
- 50:40SPEAKER_00: Um, the bull himself would have been well into the 800s at weaning.
- 50:44SPEAKER_00: Uh, and you can just tell looking at the bull, big, framey, stretchy, high growth, high performance, high octane kind of a bull.
- 50:50SPEAKER_00: His mother at one time was the number one cow for weaning weight in the entire Angus breed.
- 50:57SPEAKER_00: And so, if you're looking for pounds to sell at weaning, if you're looking to make money on selling weanling calves, if you are doing a terminal type approach on your calves and you're saying, Hey, I want as many pounds of calf to sell as I can possibly get.
- 51:11SPEAKER_00: 3336 is the way to get there.
- 51:13SPEAKER_00: Lot six is the CG Growth 3336 bowl, comes with free delivery anywhere in the continental United States included.
- 51:21SPEAKER_00: All right, now we're looking at the bull in the middle here, second from the left.
- 51:25SPEAKER_00: That's going to be 3383, the CG Growth or CG Jameson, excuse me, CG Jameson 3383, top 1% weaning weight at 109, top 1% yearling weight at 172.
- 51:38SPEAKER_00: His sire is the$600,000 bull, basin Jameson 1076.
- 51:44SPEAKER_00: Bottom side of his pedigree features the$10 million producer, Sandpoint Blackbird 8809.
- 51:50SPEAKER_00: If you're looking for a bowl that has got gas and gainability, gonna put a pile of pounds on the calves with a ton of notoriety for being able to sell at high values on that pedigree.
- 52:00SPEAKER_00: $600,000 sire,$10 million cow on the bottom side of the deal.
- 52:04SPEAKER_00: Lot 8, CG Jamison 3383, is gonna get the job done for you.
- 52:10SPEAKER_00: Bowl in the middle of these three.
- 52:12SPEAKER_00: So if we're counting from the left or from the right, the middle of the three, 2252 is gonna be top 1% of the Angus breed once again for performance.
- 52:21SPEAKER_00: Weaning weight at 102, yearling weight at 176.
- 52:24SPEAKER_00: The unique part of this bowl, as well, is that he is backed by the SAV Black Cap May Cow family.
- 52:30SPEAKER_00: So if you're looking for a bowl that'll put a pile of pounds on his calves for sale at weaning, but also produce some really, really nice cows.
- 52:37SPEAKER_00: Um, there's a really nice set of cows behind this bull.
- 52:41SPEAKER_00: Lot seven, his mother's a beautiful cow, grandmother's beautiful cow, great grandmother's beautiful cow.
- 52:47SPEAKER_00: 2252 himself is going to be the middle of those three bowls.
- 52:50SPEAKER_00: Um, but you're gonna get a pile of performance there, pile of gainability, in addition to having really, really nice females that you could retain and be proud to own.
- 52:59SPEAKER_00: That's lot seven CG Growth 2252.
- 53:02SPEAKER_00: All right, so we've got a really unique set of embryos in this month's auction.
- 53:06SPEAKER_00: Um, didn't want to overlook these, wanted to make sure these got mentioned.
- 53:10SPEAKER_00: Female sexed embryos are in this auction, backed by popular demand.
- 53:14SPEAKER_00: I've had a lot of people ask for female sexed embryos.
- 53:17SPEAKER_00: I've said, hey, what do you have?
- 53:19SPEAKER_00: What are you willing to sell?
- 53:20SPEAKER_00: What is it that I could get from you?
- 53:22SPEAKER_00: Female sexed embryos, we've got some female sexed embryos available in this auction.
- 53:27SPEAKER_00: Um, if you're looking to get female sexed embryos, I would encourage you to take a good hard look at these.
- 53:32SPEAKER_00: We have not offered these in quite a while.
- 53:34SPEAKER_00: Um, so a unique opportunity to get some female sexed embryos.
- 53:38SPEAKER_00: These will qualify you to use our recips if you so choose.
- 53:41SPEAKER_00: If you'd like to buy a recip for us to implant those embryos into, you can do that.
- 53:46SPEAKER_00: Um, so some female sex embryos sired by Shoshone out of our 3112A donor.
- 53:51SPEAKER_00: Um, so Shoshone 3,200 a straw on the on the top sale price on those that semen.
- 53:57SPEAKER_00: Uh, he's gonna be Shigamuru over D18 bowl, uh over the judo over Rushaw over a Kiko donor, 3112A.
- 54:04SPEAKER_00: So really uniquely bred there.
- 54:06SPEAKER_00: Also have some female sex embryos sired by Star Lord, which would be a Katie Maru son, over the 5115 donor.
- 54:12SPEAKER_00: So this these would be uh full siblings to our Eve donor, our female that that we are building, um one of our very first that we're building our black Akayushi program off of.
- 54:22SPEAKER_00: It is not enough that those cattle just be black or that they just be pulled.
- 54:26SPEAKER_00: The 5115 cow is 11 years old, has never missed, has weaned multiple heavy weaning calves in multiple breeds that she has carried via embryo transfer, heavy milking cow, black and pulled, in addition to all of that.
- 54:41SPEAKER_00: But more importantly, she is the best of our 2015 model black pulled cows.
- 54:46SPEAKER_00: And that's the kind of cow we want to use to build that black Aukishie program.
- 54:50SPEAKER_00: So these babies are going to be F1 calves, so they'd be sired by the 100% uh DNA verified AWA registered Red Wagyu Bull Star Lord.
- 54:59SPEAKER_00: So who has a red galaxy over Katie Marie?
- 55:02SPEAKER_00: They're out of not only a black pulled cow, but an exceptionally good black pulled cow.
- 55:08SPEAKER_00: Those will be half blood calves, half Akiushi, half commercial angus, um, but an exceptional base to build from and to start into that black Akuchi project.
- 55:18SPEAKER_00: Um, excited about those.
- 55:19SPEAKER_00: Wanted to give people an opportunity for those that have expressed interest in that black Akuchi uh project and ain't engaging in that.
- 55:26SPEAKER_00: Also have some female sex Shindo by 1270Z embryos, these heifers.
- 55:30SPEAKER_00: So again, the female sexed embryos, your odds are 90%.
- 55:33SPEAKER_00: It's about 90% accuracy as far as the female sex.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: Uh, Shindo is going to be a master chef son, and 1270Z is the Hitomi female.
- 55:44SPEAKER_00: So her grandmother is the original import Hitomi.
- 55:47SPEAKER_00: Uh, so female sexed embryos, five in that lot.
- 55:50SPEAKER_00: Uh, there's also five female sex Nikkei embryos out of the 9961 Y donor, who'd be a Himawari maternal line female in the American Wagyu Association database.
- 56:01SPEAKER_00: Um, so a really unique set of female sexed embryos there.
- 56:04SPEAKER_00: You can use our recips if you'd like, um, or we can ship them to you frozen for use in your own recips.
- 56:09SPEAKER_00: Also, have a couple sets of conventional embryos that absolutely weren't looking at.
- 56:13SPEAKER_00: One set would be Rushaw over 3330.
- 56:16SPEAKER_00: So they are sired by the original Rushaw, the 1975 Japanese national champion, 22,000 a straw over the homozygous pulled full sister to guapo 3330.
- 56:28SPEAKER_00: So these will be pulled Rushaw calves, whether they are heifers, whether they are bulls, pulled Rushaw calves.
- 56:35SPEAKER_00: Very, very, very, very unique offering there uh in Rushaw over 3330.
- 56:40SPEAKER_00: Also gonna have some PhD over 19273 embryos, PhD being an easy calving homozygous pulled bowl that is backed by a full sister to Davey Crockett, and then 19273 being the thickest, stoutest, most impressive outcross pulled off Aushi female that we own.
- 56:58SPEAKER_00: Uh, so really unique uh mating there.
- 57:01SPEAKER_00: Uh, absolutely have potential to make a stud from that, to make a donor from that.
- 57:05SPEAKER_00: Those are high caliber embryos.
- 57:07SPEAKER_00: We also have two embryos sired by Ashwood FX014, who would be the highest marbling red Wagyu bowl per the Australian Wagyu Association database out of the Big Al over D18 donor we filmed here today, um 050L.
- 57:22SPEAKER_00: Um, so don't overlook those embryos, would invite you to refresh, refresh, refresh at closing.
- 57:29SPEAKER_00: Do not assume that because that clock looks like it's gone to zero, that the auction is over, it is not closed until the banner shows.
- 57:36SPEAKER_00: So if you don't see a little black banner come across the corner of the lots, the auction's not closed.
- 57:41SPEAKER_00: Refresh your browser, refresh your browser, refresh your browser.
- 57:44SPEAKER_00: Every time a bid is placed on any lot in the final five minutes, that clock will reset to a five-minute shot clock.
