When the trail goes quiet, Tanner starts to wonder if thewhole journey was a mistake. No markers. No sound. No sign that anything is guiding them.
Then Lina hears it — a second set of footsteps. Matching theirs. Step for step.
They can't see who's walking beside them. The footsteps come and go without explanation. And for the first time, Tanner has to wrestle with trusting something he can't see, can't control, and can't prove.
But when the footsteps disappear, Lina asks the real question:
