- 0:20thirty through four hundred and thirty two. A Warlord in Prison, Jimbay,
- 0:26the Honorable Pirate Chief Guard, Saladis Trap Level three, Starvation Hell, and
- 0:35the Unleashed Swan a reunion with bon Clay. In this episode, mister two
- 0:43is here. I'm so excited, you guys. I'm so excited. Welcome
- 0:49to spoil Me. Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank
- 1:11you very much to I believe it's Florian this episode for commissioning. I just
- 1:15want to double check, yes it is, thank you Florian. Florian.
- 1:21Oh, he's here in the chat Hi, and so is Saraph And they
- 1:23were here also for My life action one Piece coverage. You guys, these
- 1:30were really really fun episodes. I should mention that I just skipped over grouping
- 1:34that were fillers. Uh So four twenty six through four twenty nine are all
- 1:42titled a special presentation related to the movie and then like a title and I
- 1:48am really curious related to which movie, Like I know there are a bunch
- 1:52of one piece movies, So if anybody is interested in telling me about that,
- 1:56I am all ears. I wouldn't be mad about like watching a different
- 2:00one piece movie, because, like, you know, I have curiosity about
- 2:07how that all works. I the one one piece movie that I watched,
- 2:14which I'm trying to remember how like how the title went was so weird and
- 2:21spooky in its way and good that I am genuinely like, I know that
- 2:28it's kind of considered the best of the movies, but I would still be
- 2:30interested. But anyway, we are not here for that. So the whole,
- 2:37like the main thrust of these three episodes is how much everybody just wants
- 2:46to break out of the prison and how Loofy doesn't want to do that,
- 2:52and everybody else seems really confused and annoyed by him. And it's really fun
- 3:00because it's like he makes it pretty clear what it is that he's trying to
- 3:04do, and they keep acting surprised by it, and I'm like, y'all
- 3:08really just need to listen. I don't know how many more ways he can
- 3:12say this to you. It feels like all of it has been pretty consistent
- 3:19thus far. So let's start things off with Jim Bay the Honorable Pirate.
- 3:27I hate how it just unmutes itself every time I start to play it.
- 3:30Oh, you guys starve me nuts. So this episode, we start off
- 3:37where we had left with the last one, which is just Loofy and mister
- 3:43three and the you know, realization of who this is, and we have
- 3:49like a bit of a detour with some guards where they are talking about how
- 3:55worried they all were when they were assigned to this place and the fact that
- 4:02it has turned out to be an extremely easy job actually, And this is
- 4:08just giving an illustration of how complacent everybody has grown in this place that they
- 4:14just aren't even though it's supposed to be like the tightest security, all of
- 4:20the guards really seem completely unworried about whether somebody is going to break out.
- 4:29It's been such a long time since anybody has managed that that it almost seems
- 4:33like they have gotten to a point where they don't believe it's even possible,
- 4:38and they are relying, it feels to me, on the structure of the
- 4:44prison itself, rather than thinking they are meant to be part of this.
- 4:48And this continues as a theme so that like eventually one of the captains or
- 4:56something. I'm not sure what position he holds is a And the third of
- 5:00these three episodes like yelling at the other guys. Our security should not be
- 5:05falling apart this easily, And I was like, yeah, y'all, this
- 5:10does seem like it. You take one card out off of the foundation of
- 5:16this thing and the entire structure just collapses. Oh excuse me, Sarah fem
- 5:26Ooh best queer is here. Bonclay has loved Bonclay is Life. I believe
- 5:30this would be for a strong world, which is great to watch. It's
- 5:33the first movie to get input directly from ODA. Oh none of the other
- 5:39movies got input from ODA. Well you said the first movie, not the
- 5:45only movie, but how many movies came out before? Like, I mean,
- 5:50so my understanding. Full disclosure here about how I know how this works.
- 5:56Like, the most I know is that ODA is super overworked, and
- 6:02likely they would be more than willing to be like, hey, give us
- 6:06your input, but he is too busy to have time to stop and like
- 6:11chit chat with him, so it winds up being like, you know,
- 6:16most of the movies are simply made as spinoffs, and he doesn't have anything
- 6:19to do, that's my guess. But I am surprised at the idea that
- 6:27more of them didn't just at least like ask for some input. That's pretty
- 6:33bonkers to me. But anyway, I can't get sidetracked here. So yeah,
- 6:41these guards are all like discussing amongst themselves. How you know, it's
- 6:46called like hell, but it's only really hell for the prisoners. And at
- 6:50one point a guy says, speaking of dangerous men, that other guy who's
- 6:56a war lord, the one who rebelled against Navy headquarters. He's got me
- 7:00on edge two. And this is when we go over to the cell where
- 7:08I don't know if this guy is sharing a cell with Ace or if he
- 7:12is just right next to Ace. This guy is saying, strike me,
- 7:20I have no regrets, and one of these fucking minotaur types bashes him in
- 7:28the head with a mace and he says like violent OAF. And I'm like,
- 7:33you just asked him to hate you, sir. I'm not sure what
- 7:36you thought you was gonna do. They are sharing a cell, Okay,
- 7:41I'm seeing it right here. So this guy, Jimbay, he says,
- 7:46my heart craves justice, my heart wants war, and we get the subtitle
- 7:53here Warlord of the Sea Jimbay the Honorable Pirate a whale shark fish formally.
- 8:01Sorry, I'm trying to because like when I pause it, it gets dark
- 8:05at the bottom of the screen, and so it's not letting me read the
- 8:09rest of this, Like subtitle here, I have to a wheel shark fisherman
- 8:15formally with a bounty of two hundred and fifty million berries dope, and he
- 8:20is saying, I can't die here, not like this. To hell with
- 8:24my title as warlord. I don't even want it anymore. If it means
- 8:30that I could stop this fight, I would. I would happily lay down
- 8:35my own life. And Ace doesn't have much of a reaction to this.
- 8:43It's just him listening. So then we cope back to the security guys who
- 8:48are like, wait, what the fuck where are the prisoners? And I
- 8:52really love that. Eventually it's they're notified like oh yeah, we found them,
- 8:56and they're sort of going, oh good, and and then but there's
- 9:01two of or there's three of them now and they're like, fog, what
- 9:05is going on? I love this. This guy is called shaggy security guard.
- 9:09And then there's a mustache security guard. I mean, how else are
- 9:11you going to keep track of them? That seems totally reasonable to me.
- 9:16We also get another moment of the the overall map of the tower with all
- 9:22its levels, and how we just see exactly where Loofy and company are on
- 9:28the map. And you guys know, I really appreciate it anytime they do
- 9:31this. I don't really need it because this place is very simple the setup
- 9:35of it, so it's pretty easy for me to remember overall. But I
- 9:41did really really need this for Nis Lobby, and I always appreciated when they
- 9:45did it, especially because we had multiple people we were trying to keep track
- 9:48of that were in different places on Enness Lobby as well because our whole crew
- 9:52was there. It's much easier this time because it's just Loofy and these two
- 9:56guys who are pretty much always going to be with him. And you all
- 10:01have to have heard me say how much I adore any storyline where enemies need
- 10:09to team up and be on the same side. However, briefly, big
- 10:13big fan of that. I love it, so I was already really excited
- 10:18about Buggy being here. Mister three being thrown into the mix was an extra
- 10:22fun bit because It's one thing to watch Buggy sort of like stew by himself,
- 10:30thinking through how he's going to screw Loofy over. It's a lot more
- 10:35fun, in my opinion, to watch him think this over with the in
- 10:41the company of mister three, and I have no doubt you know that the
- 10:46two of them are going to scheme together and then eventually one of them is
- 10:50going to have to screw the other over. Like that's the way that all
- 10:54of this would have to go, and I am fine with that. I
- 10:58just this is always fun for me, So all of this I have no
- 11:03idea, Like I didn't look through the titles of the episodes ahead of time,
- 11:09So when mister two shows up, I was so so excited. I
- 11:13was really really happy. Sorry, Saraphim says, honorable Pirate is a new
- 11:22way of trying to translate his epitaph. The normal one is first Son of
- 11:30the Sea. His actual epitaph is really hard to get right in English because
- 11:33it's a lot of wordplay involving the Japanese words for channel as in the waterway,
- 11:39chivalry, and a term of respect for high ranking yakuza or yakuza.
- 11:46Which way is the right way to say that. Okay, So First Son
- 11:52of the Sea, I like that better, Like Honorable Pirate just feels sort
- 11:56of whatever. We know a lot of those that's not that exciting. But
- 12:00First Son of the Sea feels like he's got a connection to the sea,
- 12:03which makes sense because he's a whale shark, which are humongous. By the
- 12:05way, I was when I was in Honduras, I went scuba diving and
- 12:18there was the choice to scuba dive among whale sharks in this particular area,
- 12:26and I remember being on the boat and I could see them down there,
- 12:30and I just went, I count me out, no, thank you.
- 12:35I had no interest. It just felt to me like I don't like being
- 12:43in the water with something that huge. You just feel like you're at a
- 12:50distinct disadvantage, do you know what I'm saying. Like you're just not in
- 12:54your own territory anymore. Anyway. Whale sharks super intimidating to me, So
- 13:00I love this moment. They The way that Buggy throws the uh manticores and
- 13:07I can't remember the name of the other scorpions ass off the scent is by
- 13:13using his feet, which are separated from his body, down a hallway,
- 13:18making really like obvious footstep noises so that these animals go running in that direction.
- 13:26But unfortunately they realize that they've been bamboozled pretty quick, and also Buggy's
- 13:31super loud about how he tricked them, so it doesn't last at all.
- 13:37Like they it distracts them for a second, and I was kind of like,
- 13:41Oh, that's a pretty clever idea, and then he has to immediately
- 13:45go and ruin it, which is pretty much on brand, so I don't
- 13:46know why I'm surprised. I also really want to talk about these manticres and
- 13:54later on the other creature that they run into, which I don't remember what
- 13:58they call it, but you eyes. It's really giving like Hunger Games in
- 14:05here. For those who are not familiar with the Hunger Games. A big
- 14:11part of the story is the way in which the ruling class at the Capitol
- 14:20fuck around with science, and specifically with like genetic engineering and modification, both
- 14:28in terms of like body mods on people but also modifying animals, and a
- 14:35lot of the creations they come up with were used in war, Like there's
- 14:39a bird called the Jabberjet that is meant to be a It can remember and
- 14:48repeat exactly paragraphs of human speech and their spies, and they basically just like
- 14:54sort of record from the trees and then fly back and repeat what was over
- 14:58her. But another thing that they come up with that I have found so
- 15:05freaky and I'm really interested to see Rashawn's reaction to because I'm covering the Hunger
- 15:11Games with her are the mutations, and the Jabber Day is like a mutation,
- 15:18but these mutations in the actual games are often made with human aspects and
- 15:30are like the human aspects are taken from other contestants. So what I mean
- 15:37is, after most of the other candidates of the Hunger Games have been killed
- 15:43off, there is a group of wild dogs or something that comes after Catnus
- 15:50and a couple other people that are left, and they have the eyes of
- 15:58all of the contestants that have been killed, like human eyes, and it
- 16:04freaks her out so bad. And I remember personally, like the fur on
- 16:10the animals is also like the exact shade of the hair of the person whose
- 16:15eyes the animal has as well, And there was something about that that was
- 16:19so incredibly sickening to me, Like I just there were a lot of things
- 16:26about the Hunger Games that were very disturbing. This. I always have a
- 16:30very strong reaction to anything like medical torture or like mad scientist experiments on people.
- 16:38That sort of thing really really gets to me, and the knowledge that
- 16:45evidently in the One Piece universe we've got something like that going on, because
- 16:48these creatures have human faces, and not only that, but they repeat phrases
- 16:57that people have peded often in the prison, which really varies in terms of
- 17:06how intimidating that part is because at one point they're yelling like, oh,
- 17:10the pain is too much, it hurts, which is really awful. But
- 17:14then there is one of them that's just yelling like strawberry panties, which I
- 17:21don't know what to make of that, but yeah, So it's weird because
- 17:26like it's treated as a joke, you know, like this these things being
- 17:33made of people basically, and I found it so incredibly horrifying, and I
- 17:42was truly taken aback by how much it's just sort of oh, isn't it
- 17:49like silly? Isn't this goofy? It starts off like they're leaning into the
- 17:56horror of it, but then it feels like they sort of back off because
- 18:00it's quite horrible, like I think maybe they thought, Okay, maybe we've
- 18:04taken this like as far as we should, because it's enough to give somebody
- 18:10nightmares if they think about it too much. But whatever the case, I
- 18:15just really like, I don't like the implications of this. I'm assuming that
- 18:21this is supposed to be like these experiments are done in the prison, and
- 18:26that these used to be prisoners, but it's just so it's so upsetting,
- 18:32it's so disturbing. So anyway, we have a lot more running down the
- 18:41hallways, and apparently mister three had not realized until this point that they're meant
- 18:52to be heading further in so that Lufy can find his brother. He has
- 18:56no idea that Firefist Dais is Lufy's brother, So as he's discovering this,
- 19:00he's like, I am going to get the fuck out of here. I
- 19:04absolutely do not want any of the smoke. I want to get out of
- 19:08here, and he starts running up the stairs. But then when Lufy's like,
- 19:14you said you would help, he says, well, if the stairs
- 19:17are connected from level one to level three, I could use straw Hat as
- 19:22bait for the beast guarding the stairs and make my escape. So he abruptly
- 19:29is like, okay, I'll go with you. And it's really funny because
- 19:33he's telling himself like it's ingenious and I love. There's a sense to me
- 19:38that like Buggy knows that he's fucking gonna be doing his own thing right away.
- 19:45But anyway, they run off, and this is when he goes like
- 19:48face first into this huge creature that is laying here asleep, and it's like
- 19:53another one of those cases of a giant, inadvertently adorable animal that I I
- 20:00do not want to be the enemy here. He is known as the Sphinx.
- 20:08You guys, I absolutely cannot handle the sad Sphinx and him being a
- 20:19bad guy in all of this. I can't do it. I don't like
- 20:27how incredibly depressing his whole vibe is. He's got this really really sad expression.
- 20:37He speaks really really slowly, and there's a sense of he doesn't want
- 20:47to be here doing any of this either. Like I just felt so bad
- 20:53for this little creature. And they're all looking like horrified and backing away like
- 20:59they're so scared of him. But to me, he did not come across
- 21:03as scary. He really looked to me like hellboy, I think because of
- 21:08like the sad eyes and the lumps on his forehead that are sort of like
- 21:12where hell Boy's horns had been. It's like the same positioning. So the
- 21:18whole thing with this little dude, I say little, he's huge. It
- 21:25just I don't want any of this fighting to be happening. I don't like
- 21:32this at all. And he I was hoping at one point when Loofy seems
- 21:37to be like getting along with him, I was thinking that he might wind
- 21:42up becoming one of their friends instead of being an enemy. And by the
- 21:48end of the third of these episodes, I don't think that's gonna happen.
- 21:52And I was so disappointed because it really seems like him and Lufy are connecting.
- 21:56And the reason they're connecting is great, because the worse whatever reason,
- 22:02this creature just won't stop talking about noodles. And I don't know what it
- 22:11is that he has heard about noodles in this prison, but evidently he has
- 22:15heard a great variety, because he's over here talking about pork noodle and soup
- 22:22noodle and cold noodle and sesame noodle and all the noodles, and he says
- 22:29them each like a battle cry. Kind of I say battle cry simply because
- 22:33he does fight after he says it, But I in no way mean to
- 22:37imply that he is shouting it in an intimidating way, because it's really not
- 22:45a shout that's intimidating. He says it just sort of like pork noodle,
- 22:52like, ugh, what are you in my face for? Like that's the
- 22:55most aggressive he ever really gets. I don't know, I uh, I
- 23:00really just the whole deal with this creature makes me sad, and I'm just
- 23:07gonna sort of speed through things there. There is a moment where Lufy's like,
- 23:11oh, you're making me hungry, and mister three starts making little wax
- 23:18versions of himself and it Lufy is like sitting on the Sphinx's back while it's
- 23:26like trying to figure out which of these figures is the actual mister three,
- 23:33and Lufy is just egging him on and being just like, yeah, get
- 23:37him, get him, Like he's treating it like it's a game for both
- 23:40of them, which honestly I'm pretty much fine with because, like Louvi's easily
- 23:48entertained is the probably most polite way that I'm gonna find to say that.
- 23:53So yeah, I don't have a problem with the con of them becoming buds.
- 24:02I just don't think it looks like that's going to happen. And I
- 24:07am hoping I'm wrong. I'm still holding out a little bit of hope.
- 24:10I'll be honest with you guys, So let me jump ahead past that point.
- 24:17Oh my god, that's right. He and Uh and Buggy they decide
- 24:22that they're going to like work together to screw Loofy over and use him his
- 24:26bait in order to get out of here. And I love when when they
- 24:29finally sort of break out and they begin to flee, Buggy says, all
- 24:34according to plan, and mister three says that this wasn't the plan. We're
- 24:41just running for our lives. And there was something about that that got me
- 24:44in the giggles. I was really laughing about that. Meanwhile, the guards
- 24:49are trying to figure out what the fuck is going on. They can feel
- 24:52their like office is shaking. Shit's really going down, but they don't understand
- 24:56what's happening because there aren't cameras in a lot of places, or the cameras
- 25:00have been fucked up because this creature is quite humongous, So you know,
- 25:06and eventually the ground like breaks underneath them and they go plummeting further downward.
- 25:14And I love I think it's Buggy who is yelling at Loofy. Damn it,
- 25:22you are just a huge pain in the ass. And I really felt
- 25:29that. I feel like that would be my overall assessment of Loofy. As
- 25:33much as I might like him, I would be like, dude, why
- 25:37are you such a fucking pain? Everything I have to deal with with you
- 25:41is such it's always something goes wrong, Like so this is when you go
- 25:48back to jim Bay and he says, it's what I have to deal with
- 25:52as a warlord, as a pirate who hates other pirates, and Ace is
- 25:59like, you hate other pirates, and He's like, yeah, I know.
- 26:04I used to visit Whitebeard's ship on a regular basis, but because of
- 26:08my status with the government, i'd travel underwater to get there. Even so,
- 26:12he and his crew were good friends to me. And A says,
- 26:18well, you did try to kill me one time, and Jimby says,
- 26:23yeah, I could say the same thing about you. But if we just
- 26:26set all of that aside, I owe Whitebeard a debt. Fishman Island is
- 26:32now a peaceful haven once again thanks to that old man of years, and
- 26:34we find out pirates sailing along the Grand Line must pass through Fishman Island to
- 26:41reach the New World. So not long after the dawn of the Great Pirate
- 26:47Era, the island was in trouble. Numerous human pirate and navy ships that
- 26:52were chasing after white Beard arrived there, wreaking havoc. Countless fishmen and mermaids
- 26:59were kidnapped and sold as slaves, and just when despair threatened to conquer our
- 27:04hearts, white Beard showed himself. And basically what he did was he laid
- 27:14clean to Fishman Island as his territory and was like, you fuck with any
- 27:19of these people. You are fucking with me and all of the folks who
- 27:25have been hassling Fishman Island back the fuck off, because he was that much
- 27:30of a threat. And Jim Bay is like, yeah, and we aren't
- 27:34the only ones he did that with. There are other islands that he has
- 27:37done something similar, and the government's targeting him because all they see of him
- 27:44is that he's a pirate. But that's not true strictly speaking, and I
- 27:49keep trying to tell them that and they don't want to fucking listen and uh.
- 27:56We then get a flashback of Ace where he's listening to a speech about
- 28:03like who would rain? Let's see, I'm trying to see this moment here,
- 28:07because it starts off with white Beard reaching his hand out if he happened
- 28:15to die, what would become of the sea? Who would dare to?
- 28:18Uh? Oh no, I'm sorry, Ace, This isn't white Beard speaking.
- 28:23This flashback is happening without dialogue, and what Jim Bay is saying is
- 28:29his voiceover over the scene. So yeah, he's saying, who would rain
- 28:34in his absence? Who but a fool would dare to usher in such madness?
- 28:41I want to stop the war, even though I must give up my
- 28:45life. I want to rest. I wanted to rescue you, Ace,
- 28:48but I failed, So that's why he busted in here. And I am
- 28:52really really excited for when we eventually reach Ace and are able to get both
- 29:00of them free. What kind of shit we're going to get up to?
- 29:06And Jim Bay says, even now, I'm thinking that maybe there's going to
- 29:10be a miracle and somebody is going to come and save us, and you
- 29:14guys, I really would love to just for a moment. If you were
- 29:22in this sort of situation where you were like going to be executed, would
- 29:26you not also fully be expecting like a last minute rescue. I feel like
- 29:33it's in our nature for a lot of us to just think these things just
- 29:37don't happen to us. It's that that's not how things go. And I
- 29:42would fully be thinking, like, there, I'll find a way out of
- 29:48this somehow. You know, I'm sure once you live the kinds of lives
- 29:55these guys do, it's not necessarily the kind of mindset you're going to be
- 29:59in. But then we get somebody from the Shadows speaking up, this is
- 30:06a now or never opportunity to defeat white Beard, even lockdown here. I
- 30:11can't help but feel a bit excited. And it's Crocodile, and he's out
- 30:18here stroking his hook hand and he says it's not just me, and all
- 30:27of a sudden, all of these dudes from all over the prison start talking
- 30:33about how they want a piece of white Beard. And it's so weird,
- 30:37you guys, because the way this is animated, all of the dudes surrounding
- 30:42them that are saying like, oh yeah, give me a piece of him.
- 30:47None of them have like distinct features. All you see is a flat
- 30:55coloring for their face and a like you know their eyes are. There's no
- 31:03pupils to them. It's just like a white space and you can see their
- 31:07teeth and that's it. All of them have really in specific features that I
- 31:15found kind of puzzling the styling for this. I don't know if it's just
- 31:19meant to be like you don't need to know who all it is, or
- 31:25if they're meant to be sort of anonymous and it's just like they're kind of
- 31:30nobody's but everybody who is chiming in one hundred percent is down to fuck white
- 31:38Beard up. And I can't even tell if any of them have like a
- 31:44real particular personal grievance. I think it's just it's almost like I want to
- 31:52just be the one, like for the sake of it. And I find
- 31:57it really weird considering that if Whitebeard were to get here and fuck shit up
- 32:02adequately, he would, I am assuming, let all of these guys free.
- 32:08So I'm not totally sure why they are all so eager to see this
- 32:15guy be taken down, because it feels like it's very much against their own
- 32:22best interest, and I'm just sort of like, oh, okay, dudes,
- 32:27I feel like you're not thinking this through fully, but okay, but
- 32:31anyway. Yeah, so that's the way the episode ends, is like all
- 32:36of them being like, yeah, yeah, yeah, let us fuck him
- 32:37up, and Jimmy is saying silence, and then let's see silver medallists who
- 32:45could never defeat Roger and white Beard all holding back their tears. This is
- 32:52when Crocodile starts laughing, and I am excited about Crocodile being around. Just
- 33:00can't wait for that. He was like a really fun villain it. You
- 33:05know, they got the better of him in the end, but it was
- 33:07it felt like a close thing. I'm into it. So we could then
- 33:15go to the moment where all of the guards get they start to figure out
- 33:23what it is that Lufy is doing. He is They didn't know either that
- 33:29he is related to Ace. So now that they are figuring it out and
- 33:34are understanding that he's going to be heading further and further in, they're like,
- 33:38oh wait, he's trying to stop this public execution. This is going
- 33:43to be a whole different thing. They are thinking he's just maybe here to
- 33:49you know, function up and get people out, and also they notice that,
- 33:53like he must have busted in because we were so distracted with white Beard,
- 33:58but they don't know still how he got smuggled inside, so they're still
- 34:05trying to figure that out. Meanwhile, Boa is like she finally gets brought
- 34:13down to c Ace, and the whole way this winds up shaking out is
- 34:20that when she gets down there, Magellan I think is his name, Magellan
- 34:28is like not taken seriously by a lot of the other prisoners. They keep
- 34:34calling him diarrhea guy. And they prisoners see Boa and completely lose their minds.
- 34:46And it's such a weird sequence y all, because like the way that
- 34:50they talk to her is a lot more explicit than I was expecting this show.
- 34:58I feel like it the past one hundred or so episodes has been way
- 35:04more direct every time than I'm expecting it to be. So they just keep
- 35:12on just fucking The thing that I'm thinking is going to be subtexts turns out
- 35:15to just be text and I keep being like, oh, okay, I
- 35:20guess we're just telling the thing. But yeah, these dudes are just yelling
- 35:24like, hey, come and get some loving or let me show her my
- 35:28snake things like this, and I keep being really caught off guard by it.
- 35:34But because they're not taking Magellan seriously at all, they he winds up
- 35:42deciding that he's gonna lay down the law, and he flexes on them by
- 35:47using his poison power on a bunch of them. And while he is totally
- 35:54distracted by this, is when Boa delivered the message to Ace about how lufy
- 36:01is here. He's coming to get you. He knew it was a good
- 36:06chance that you were gonna be pissed at him for this, but he had
- 36:09to do what he had to do. And because she, like you know,
- 36:15manages to deliver this whole message while Magellan is otherwise very dramatically engaged,
- 36:22nobody overhears it and it's a pretty solid plan actually, you know, like
- 36:28I felt like that worked out quite well and it's effectively done. Because we
- 36:32don't hear her deliver the message, we are also as viewers distracted by Magellan
- 36:37like standing up and making this whole scene, and then all of a sudden
- 36:42it cuts to her being like, thank you for listening. That was the
- 36:47that was the whole message. I'm done. Now we can go, And
- 36:52Magellan is like a little startled and going, wait already, that's it.
- 36:55It's all you had to do, and she's like, yep, that's it.
- 36:59So that's going up down there. And then when we are with let's
- 37:07see, I'm trying to see the spot we're at here with Lufy and the
- 37:12others right right right, we get a little flashback to him punching that fucking
- 37:16celestial dragon, which, kids, I will never get tired of that.
- 37:20I will not ever get tired of seeing him punch that guy. It makes
- 37:22me so happy. And we get that flashback because we have Garp and Sengoku
- 37:29talking and Garp is fucking delighted by the fact that Lufy has busted into impel
- 37:38down. He is so it is so funny. I can't help but laugh
- 37:43because he is cackling like that is the word to use literally in this guy's
- 37:49face. And he's also eating because he also has the thing that Lufy has
- 37:52where he has to be constantly eating, So he's laughing with his mouth full
- 37:58of food, which is somehow even more just disrespectful. And guys, I
- 38:04just I thought this was so funny. He is not even trying to conceal
- 38:07his delight and Sengoku is so irritated, he's getting so pissed that eventually he
- 38:16comes over and I don't know what it is exactly that Garp's eating, but
- 38:19he's eating out a bag sort of looks like it might be donuts. It
- 38:22also might just be like like rice balls. It might be those rice balls
- 38:27that have like the seaweed wrapped around the outside. It's hard for me to
- 38:29tell. But Sengogu comes over and grabs the bag out from Garp's hands,
- 38:37and Garp gets more mad over that than he has gotten about anything, and
- 38:44hard relate. I also get it completely, agree, sir, that's the
- 38:47thing to get mad about here. And Sengoku is like, Kuma said that
- 38:53he took care of them at the archipelago and I should have known better than
- 38:59to trust him, and he calls him a fool, and I was like,
- 39:05you think he's a fool, but uh, that implies like that he
- 39:09is not competent. And what I think is opening is that he's you know,
- 39:15in on all of this with them, which I am glad that hasn't
- 39:19occurred to this guy, because as soon as he gets you know, as
- 39:24soon as it's discovered that he might be in on this, then the game
- 39:28is up, and I need him to be playing in the game for a
- 39:31little bit longer. We still need him with this, so I hope that
- 39:37Kuma doesn't get found out for a little bit. Being thought to be incompetent
- 39:39is better than being thought to be a trader, I think. I'm sure
- 39:45there would be people out there who would disagree with that, but that's that's
- 39:47how I feel about it for the moment. So yeah, this will this
- 39:52bit with Garb, this just cracked me up. I just thought it was
- 39:54so funny. He's laughing, so you guys, there's tears like pouring out
- 39:59of his eyes. Ey. Sengoku says, laugh it up while you can,
- 40:02but this is gonna have a serious repercussion on our reputation. There's only
- 40:08so much we can do. And this is when he grabs the food away
- 40:12and Garb says, no fair, and Sengoku says, shut up already,
- 40:15and he just opens the bag and tips his head back and pours literally all
- 40:17of it down his throat. So this is when our guys all wake up
- 40:27on where are they'd level three or level four? Are they level three?
- 40:32It's the hot level and the ground, it turns out feels like a frying
- 40:39pan. At one point, a bird falls out of the sky and it's
- 40:45like completely roasted and ready to eat essentially, and that kind of heat,
- 40:52which, of course, like this would really actually kill them, but it's
- 40:55fine. I don't care. And you know, the whole deal with this
- 41:00place is that it's meant to like break you. And so it's not only
- 41:07this incredible intense heat, but it's also that the guys are being starved.
- 41:14They're not being given water either, so just you know, being weakened as
- 41:17much as possible. Meanwhile, mister three is like, yo, my whole
- 41:25deal is like using wax as a weapon. And if I am in a
- 41:30place where my ship melts immediately, this is not awesome for me. I
- 41:34don't like it. So this place looks like it reminds me of the places
- 41:44that crocodile completely leveled. It looks like lots of sand. Will we wind
- 41:51up finding out, you guys, And this is pretty fucking this is pretty
- 41:54morbid for this show. What we find out is that the sand on the
- 42:01ground is likely the remains of the prisoners that got like we should it's like
- 42:15they're ash essentially Wow, that is dark that really I was not ready for
- 42:27that one. I gotta say, I'm I like it as a device,
- 42:31but I genuinely was kind of startled that they were like, oh yeah,
- 42:36this is probably you know, just like human ash flying around that you're walking
- 42:39all over. I was like, wow, but we don't find that out
- 42:45until later. So they get moving. It's really awful, like they're having
- 42:50such a hard time, and eventually come across the dudes who are being kept
- 42:57prisoner and they are skin and bone, mouths hanging open, just desperate for
- 43:01something to drink, and Buggy is like you wouldn't know it to look at
- 43:07them, but all of the dudes on this floor were real badasses at one
- 43:12point, Like they got put here because of how terrible they are at least
- 43:16fifty million barries ahead, and they're kept here a shell of their former selves.
- 43:23Okay, this is level four according to the little map that we see
- 43:28here. Thanks map, always appreciate you. And he says, now you
- 43:34know why this floor is covered with what appears to be sand, And I
- 43:37was just like, yikes, dude, so or no, this is level
- 43:45three, Lufy says Okay, so let's go to level four. I thought
- 43:50it just said that we were on level four. I must have been wrong.
- 43:55So one of the soldiers or the guardsmen here ease them, and you
- 44:00hear this guy say be patient. All is going according to plan now.
- 44:07I don't know if I am imagining this, so forgive me if this is
- 44:13completely incorrect. But the voice of sal Death sounds so much like what is
- 44:22his name, Warwick William What is his name? The guy from Willow,
- 44:28the little person I can't remember, Warwick Davies, Right, that's it.
- 44:32I think it sounds so much like him. And I haven't checked to see
- 44:38because obviously spoilers can I can stumble on those at any point. But I
- 44:44really had a moment of like, wait a second, and it would be
- 44:46kind of fun to have somebody who is sort of famous show up as a
- 44:51voice on this show. I would enjoy that. It doesn't matter, it
- 44:53doesn't change anything. But I just wanted to say in case it was actually
- 44:59what it says sounded like, So, yeah, these dudes are the It
- 45:08seems like the ones that are working with Saladath are like a different group,
- 45:14like a faction of the guards, Like they're not everybody in this prison isn't
- 45:19working together the same way. And I don't know what to make of this,
- 45:23but they have a net in place that they use to scoop all three
- 45:29of them up, including the Sphinx by the way, and it's an interesting
- 45:36thing once they like yell about how if they had gone a different way they
- 45:38wouldn't have gotten trapped. Salath is like, oh no, no, no,
- 45:43We've been watching you the whole time, and we had like a variety
- 45:45of traps, so if you went somewhere else, you'd still have gotten caught.
- 45:47It would have just been a different trap that time, which really that
- 45:52sucks. And I love how because the Sphinx is in there with them,
- 45:57they're all being squashed up against the like the what do you call it the
- 46:04edges of the net, which I believe Lufy figures out that they're made out
- 46:09of seastone, so he can't use his powers when he's in the net,
- 46:14which is diabolical. And this little guy, Saladath, he tries to tell
- 46:23his name. At first, Lufy's salt Breath, and then he's like saltine
- 46:30head or sardine head, that's what it is. You know, how he
- 46:35does I don't know what to make of Saldath he is. He looks like
- 46:43a like little mushroom. Uh, he's very very small, which actually maybe
- 46:51it is Warwick Davies because this is like a little character and maybe they went
- 46:57and got a little person to voice a little character idea, if that's like
- 47:01makes any sense, or maybe somebody's imitating him on purpose because of that,
- 47:05Like I don't know, but yeah, he's got this tiny little white three
- 47:12piece suit and the vest underneath is not white, it's yellow, but goes
- 47:15with the overall suit. The suit has like tails that are a little bit
- 47:20too long. They seem to almost drag on the ground, so like neck
- 47:24down, it's not an appropriate outfit to be like a prison guard, but
- 47:29it's a pretty normal looking outfit overall. It's from the neck up that it's
- 47:32real weird. He has what almost looks like an oversized cagle, like if
- 47:38you took a cangle and just stretched the brim out way way further and there
- 47:44are two horns coming out of it. Because I am assuming he is a
- 47:45demon with a skull, a black skull with like white eye sockets, or
- 47:52sorry, a black skull with yellow eye sockets and a yellow nose. Hole
- 47:58in the middle between the wholens and Saldad himself has a very ordinary looking face,
- 48:07but he has heavily lidded eyes that have like purple eyeshadow. It's I
- 48:14don't think supposed to be makeup. I think it's just meant to be like,
- 48:17you know, shadowed eyes. But he's it's He's got a pretty dope
- 48:23design. Actually, like in my opinion, sometimes less is more, and
- 48:30so making him be overall kind of ordinary looking with just the occasional really weird
- 48:37touch here and there, I felt like worked pretty well. Uh, And
- 48:45I feel like he's one of my favorite character designs that I have seen in
- 48:47quite some time, just because of how everything at least is a cohesive look
- 48:55instead of the way it can sometimes be where it seems like pieces of the
- 49:00costume are completely random and unrelated to one another. And he says something about
- 49:08I'm trying to find the spot here's You're fortunate I was the one who captured
- 49:12you. There are four other guards prowling on the floors beyond this one and
- 49:16their demons, and we get a, uh, it looks like a bull,
- 49:22I think a rhinoceros, a koala, and a horse which I am
- 49:29sort of feeling like maybe there this is supposed to be an imitation of like
- 49:34the Four Horsemen or something, but I may just be completely at like assigning
- 49:40meaning where there isn't any you know what I'm saying, which I have been
- 49:46wont to do in the past, I will confess. So yeah, he
- 49:54the like it looks like they're good and properly caught up in this net here,
- 50:02and we have Mister three and Buggy both entirely giving up, basically being
- 50:09like, oh that's it, then we're going back to prison. We were
- 50:15so close, like this was almost gonna be a rap, but apparently everything
- 50:23is gonna go wrong now because when they got the sphinx up in the air
- 50:27in this net, he was asleep. Well not anymore. He is awake
- 50:34and he is pissed, and he just starts to like roll back and forth
- 50:40inside this net and he is just so huge. He's starting to talk about
- 50:45noodles again, and the guy says something about how he's gone on he's moved
- 50:50on to pasta. Now, oh that's right, because he says feticini,
- 50:52So it's not just noodles anymore. Although I think he does drop a noodle
- 50:58a noodle name again a little bit later on, Oh yeah, here it
- 51:01is heels deep fried noodles. So yeah, he breaks the whole net apart.
- 51:09All guys go tumbling to the ground. I love that, Like Buggy
- 51:15and mister three are going this fucking sucks, while Loofy's like, hooray,
- 51:20I'm free. It's only positive things for Loofy. And then we get into
- 51:24another fight. He goes up against the Bulgorian is just fucking gum gum gatling
- 51:30in their asses to the ground. It's like, really kind of shocking how
- 51:37little fight they put up. He had said that they were tough earlier he
- 51:39took down three, but he was panting, and here he's taken down like
- 51:44thirty of them and it's like no problem. And when he's looking around for
- 51:52where Buggy and mister three are, he wants to know because he's like worried
- 51:59there hurt. And when he looks up and he sees them they're climbing up
- 52:02onto the bridge, he says, oh, they got up there. Good
- 52:07thinking. Buggy turns around and laughing yells so long, straw hat, tell
- 52:13your brother, I said, hello. If he's still alive, I'll buy
- 52:15him a drink, and mister three and by the way, thanks for being
- 52:20our live bait, you little imbecile, and Looviy's response is, whoof glad
- 52:25to see they're safe. Well, okay, see ya. Thanks a lot
- 52:30for your help, you guys, and the both of them get like briefly
- 52:35caught up in their consciences and are like, oh my god, he's so
- 52:39sweet. My heart's breaking. And I was like, this is such a
- 52:45weird bit that they keep doing where the bad guys are sort of overwhelmed with
- 52:50I don't know if I want to say remorse, but it kind of feels
- 52:52like remorse, and it's like, really, we've seen Buggy do this,
- 52:58but this is the first time I've seen anything like this from mister three,
- 53:00who I have been sort of assuming is not even like capable Buggy. I
- 53:07have long held that there's a hint for me that Buggy isn't as bad as
- 53:12he seems like he is, but also he isn't and I accept that from
- 53:20him, but I don't really buy it from mister three. I'll just say
- 53:27that I'm not sure if that's like fair or not, but I just feel
- 53:31like mister three is way more of a scumbag than Buggy. Buggy just strikes
- 53:37me as somebody who's actually lonely and sad, and mister three strikes me as
- 53:42somebody who likes being alone because he has like a real superiority complex and is
- 53:47just like a bad dude, you know. So again, maybe I'm just
- 53:53assigning things and that's not fair, but that's the kind of impression that I
- 53:59got off of him. But yeah, so Saldeath is just starts yelling like,
- 54:04don't let him get away. He's got a three hundred million barry bound
- 54:07him burry bounty on him, and I love Lufy looking around at these guards
- 54:15and saying, I don't have time for all you guys right now. And
- 54:21he is about to get into it when he looks up and here's the Sphinx,
- 54:24just yelling soba another noodle as he bashes all of these guys into the
- 54:30ground, and he manages to get away in the midst of all this,
- 54:37and Saladeath is just standing there like fuck, like there's just a really strong
- 54:44I had him, God damn it. And it's not even like he's like
- 54:51frustrated, like violently frustrated. He's just like staring after him like, I
- 54:54can't believe I fucked that up, you know that kind of like where what
- 55:00it's done is done to such a degree that you can't even really be mad
- 55:04because it feels so pointless. That's the vibe I'm getting off of him.
- 55:09So anyway, Uh, that's pretty much of it. Because I talked about
- 55:15the third of these episodes. The thing that happens at the end of this
- 55:20is there is a weird noise happening, and we have this like quaking in
- 55:28his boots Mister three, who knows who this is, Buggy does not,
- 55:35and y'all, this is so it's so amazing. So it's so. I
- 55:45was so because like, once I realized, it took me a second to
- 55:49figure out what the sound was because he's I think he's supposed to be like
- 55:52counting in French, but he's not. Actually it's not really French. It's
- 55:57supposed to be I think in uh, imitation of the kinds of calls that
- 56:04you make when you're doing like ballet exercises. So it took me a moment
- 56:10to like even realize in that scene who this was supposed to be. And
- 56:15then all of a sudden, I was like, no, way, Oh
- 56:17my god, he's here, and I got so so excited about it,
- 56:22and once we actually see him, it's so much fun because there's a whole
- 56:29fucking like, uh uh, what do you call it song that gets recited
- 56:37where he says like, when you're queer, you have no fear, and
- 56:43that's like one of the lines. I'm trying to find the exact spot where
- 56:46he's singing because I can't remember it. But it is really, like,
- 56:54I think, a really fun bit where it's easy because of the nature of
- 57:02like the sort of bad faith situation we've got going on with this character,
- 57:08where you could take it in such a way that you're like, oh,
- 57:12this is really gross, but I am wilfully reading it as wholesome, like
- 57:20purposely making an effort to do that, even though I know that's not what's
- 57:23actually meant necessarily here. So yeah, I love. And Buggy doesn't know
- 57:31who this is, so he's running toward the noise while Mister three is trying
- 57:35to stop him and being like, wait, wait, wait, you don't
- 57:37understand, Oh yeah, here it is. If you think it's see me
- 57:43in here now, just wait, you'll really hate when I'm angry and he's
- 57:47doing all these little pirouettes, but his hands are still like manacled together,
- 57:52and I love when he sees mister three and is like, oh, how
- 57:57are you, and mister three says, well, this is awkward, and
- 58:01I was like, is it why? I don't feel like it is.
- 58:06I don't know if it's just supposed to be, like it's awkward that he
- 58:07knows me. But yeah. The moment that I didn't like in this scene,
- 58:19of course, was Buggy just staring at him and saying, what is
- 58:24this creature meant to be? And mister three saying it's best not to question
- 58:31it or something like that, Yeah, what the hell is this strange creature
- 58:37here? It is hard to say, let's be sure not to let it
- 58:42out, and I was like, oh, that's really really gross. I
- 58:45hate that. However, eventually they do let him out, even though they
- 58:54say they won't, and when Lufy winds up in a tight spot, he
- 59:00looks up and he thinks it's Zorro. I also, for a moment was
- 59:06sort of like, wait, Zorrow's here. I totally forgot what mister Two's
- 59:10powers were supposed to be, and I was so pleased at how elated Lufy
- 59:20is to find out that it's Buonclay. He's so excited and like just he
- 59:25says, at one point, I would still have preferred Zorro, but I'm
- 59:30really glad to see you. And but Clay doesn't take that as an insult
- 59:35at all. He really does seem to be like, no, I get
- 59:37that, and that's you know, that's fine. That's how it's going to
- 59:39go sometimes. And I really was hopeful that was how Lufy would react,
- 59:46because it seemed to me like he left them on good terms, he did
- 59:50them a good turn, and I was hoping that because Lufy just seems to
- 59:55have goodwill towards people, even when they don't deserve it, that he would
- 59:59keep it for mister two, and he has, and they're actually like buds,
- 1:00:04and I was, I can't wait to see more of what goes on
- 1:00:07with this dude. But briefly, I have to take a detour here because
- 1:00:15this new character shows up. This woman. Oh my god, the Marines
- 1:00:21are out here, like you know, arguing amongst each other. When this
- 1:00:25door opens and you hear a woman say hold on a moment and she steps
- 1:00:31out. Her name is diet No, what's her name? Trying to find
- 1:00:36it because there's a little title card that comes up. I'm Mistress Sadie,
- 1:00:42our torture expert, it says, commander of the Demon Guards of Impelled Down.
- 1:00:46Let's talk about misters Sadie's outfit here. This is a lot hot pink.
- 1:00:54I'm totally into that, y'all know. She has these like point teetoed
- 1:01:00high heels, and when I say points to, I mean like it's they're
- 1:01:05the toes curl upward. She has got what are sort of like chaps,
- 1:01:12but they're attached to like a body harness, so her hips are exposed,
- 1:01:17and her midriff and her the bottom of her boobs are exposed, like the
- 1:01:22bottom like she's got like under cleavage, and the sleeves of this sort of
- 1:01:29jumpsuit thing are cut to look like flames, and there is like a fringe
- 1:01:36hanging down over the boobs. Plus she's got a popped collar that points outward
- 1:01:42in the same exact direction and with the same color as I think her horns.
- 1:01:46This look is everything, you guys. I am obsessed with this fucking
- 1:01:54idiotic character. She is clearly like the whole bit is meant to be this.
- 1:02:00She's a dominatrix, and she demands that they call her mistress. You
- 1:02:02know, I do not care. I love all of this. This is
- 1:02:07so great. I really really want to see a cosplay of this, because
- 1:02:12I feel like this would be a tough one. Anytime that you have got
- 1:02:14under boob that's tricky. And I know that there's a lot of women who
- 1:02:17have figured out a way around it where you make fake boobs out of cloth
- 1:02:22basically, which look really real in photos. So I could see you getting
- 1:02:28away with it by doing that, or you just sort of like have it
- 1:02:31come up, but you don't worry too much about trying to get the undercleavage
- 1:02:35thing to look right, because like, it's really not gonna look right unless
- 1:02:37you've got giant titties. So, and she also has these ear rings y'all
- 1:02:43that look like lit torches or candle. They're candles, I think, yeah.
- 1:02:49And she has blonde hair with this huge, thick fringe of bangs that
- 1:02:54cover her eyes so you don't really see her eyes at all. And just
- 1:03:00all of this it's great. Some guy is like starts to get an attitude
- 1:03:06with her about being demanding to be called mistress, and she literally whips him,
- 1:03:10and when he cries out in pain, she goes, oh, the
- 1:03:15screams are irresistible, and I was just like, oh my god, this
- 1:03:22is too much, Like she's getting horny off of his pain because she's a
- 1:03:25sadist, which is why she's mistress Sadie. This is just so so much,
- 1:03:30it's so much. So Yeah, she says, you can serve the
- 1:03:36guard outside. H the only the drawbridge is the only entrance. We'll secure
- 1:03:42ourselves inside, raise it and seal off, impelled down completely. We'll do
- 1:03:47our job and as long as you do yours, nobody. Every time she
- 1:03:52talks, she just like moans mid sentence, it's so absurd, you guys.
- 1:03:58I want to hate this so bad, and I can't because it's just
- 1:04:01so funny. Meanwhile, behind her is the creepiest Kowala, who I guess
- 1:04:06is one of the demons. The look of him is horrible. He's like
- 1:04:12this sickening yellow and he looks almost like he's got human flesh and his middrift
- 1:04:16like I don't know what's going on there. I really do not care for
- 1:04:19him. And he has very flat black eyes. There's no like whites to
- 1:04:24his eyes. M I don't like anything about him. There's something almost like
- 1:04:30minstrel like about his design. I don't not a fan of any of this,
- 1:04:40but okay, so I'm just like making sure because I kind of did
- 1:04:43cover some things out of order, but I have pretty much covered everything,
- 1:04:48I think, because yeah, mister Chwo shows up like kind of right at
- 1:04:51the end there and takes care of these guards. He is killing it.
- 1:04:57You stay away from my friend or things are a I get very ugly,
- 1:05:02And I should mention too how different mister two looks because he's not in his
- 1:05:06like wild outfit that he normally wears with the whole Swan motif. He's just
- 1:05:11in like a jumpsuit. He's still got the makeup on, but his look
- 1:05:16is so much more subdued than usual, which I actually think suits him quite
- 1:05:21well. I do miss the Swan thing because it's just like so fucking out
- 1:05:27there, but I enjoy seeing him in this like black and white get up
- 1:05:31as well because there's something about it that still feels like on brand. And
- 1:05:36yeah, the reunion between him and movie with both of them streaming tears is
- 1:05:42just delightful. So anyway, all right, I have to wrap up so
- 1:05:46far over time it was three episodes this time, and they were kind of
- 1:05:49packed episodes, so I was surprised that I was asked to watch three,
- 1:05:54but you know that's fine. Sorry, Sarah, Him and the there's a
- 1:06:00common fan theory that white Beard is the one who took Kroc's hand. Ooh,
- 1:06:04I like that. Another translation thing what she demands to be called in
- 1:06:09Japanese is Sadie chan, with chan being an honorific that is usually only used
- 1:06:13for really close personal friends. Ah. But yeah, Sadie is so over
- 1:06:16the top. It's fun. I love this outfit too. It really almost
- 1:06:20is like on par with what Beyonce war during the cozy sequence of her live
- 1:06:27show. She didn't wear the same outfits to everything. There wasn't the same
- 1:06:31costumes, but for some of them she had this like hot pink ensemble with
- 1:06:41thigh highs for some of them, like you know, the leotars for others.
- 1:06:45And it's just this is way more complex, but it was sort of
- 1:06:47reminding me of that. All Right, I've got to go, Thank you
- 1:06:51guys so much for hanging out. Appreciate you all again, and I hope
- 1:06:55you're enjoying the coverage. Until next time, to the Loo motherfuckers. That
- 1:07:30was an unspoiled network.
