Putnam County Circuit Judge Mark Sorsaia is stepping down at the end of the month after being diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer’s, which he says will impair his ability to serve. A longtime public servant—former prosecutor and state Homeland Security secretary—Sorsaia was just elected to a full term in May. In his heartfelt Facebook post, he urged others with memory concerns to seek help and reflected on a career devoted to service. Governor Patrick Morrisey will appoint his replacement.
