- 0:15Speaker 2: to start. Fellas a bit tenuous for New Zealand, needing
- 0:18Speaker 2: sixty eight with two wickets in hand.
- 0:19Speaker 3: We'll keeping an eye on that for you.
- 0:21Speaker 4: Yeah, bloody good.
- 0:22Speaker 5: Heaps of texts coming in for Maggot Monday, Big Maggot
- 0:25Speaker 5: Monday to Chris Key, biggest maggot of them all. Kia
- 0:29Speaker 5: kaha MOGGI love you fella.
- 0:31Speaker 4: Oh thanks, Yeah, I appreciate that. Yeah, no easy on
- 0:34Speaker 4: Moggi day.
- 0:34Speaker 5: And also the director of Broken Wood's text three You're fired.
- 0:40Speaker 3: That's never going to happen. Keezy, I carry that show.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Fellas.
- 0:46Speaker 5: Have you noticed maybe it's just me right. Whenever we
- 0:48Speaker 5: go out for dinner, if we are purchasing food from
- 0:51Speaker 5: a restaurant, cafe, or anything in today's social media era,
- 0:57Speaker 5: we pretty much know what we're going to order, exactly
- 1:00Speaker 5: what it's going to look like. Because you go to
- 1:02Speaker 5: a restaurant, you look at the menu, and then my
- 1:04Speaker 5: wife will get our Instagram and check their Instagram be like,
- 1:06Speaker 5: oh that looks young, we should order that. You know
- 1:08Speaker 5: what you're getting. People will recommend to certain foods, and
- 1:10Speaker 5: the reviews all will ask for recommendations from the waiter
- 1:13Speaker 5: and they'll say, this is our famish dish. We probably
- 1:15Speaker 5: got a ninety nine percent hit record when it comes
- 1:18Speaker 5: to ordering food. Are you guys similar or no?
- 1:20Speaker 4: No, I do none of what you just to do.
- 1:23Speaker 5: I used to not do any of them. Yes, and
- 1:25Speaker 5: you just it's a mystery. I hope it's good.
- 1:27Speaker 4: So what you get? Yeah?
- 1:28Speaker 5: And so for example, on our honeymoon we went to Europe.
- 1:30Speaker 5: It was lovely and we honestly had a hit rate
- 1:32Speaker 5: of ninety nine percent due to research and stuff, mostly
- 1:35Speaker 5: on my wife's behalf.
- 1:36Speaker 6: Friday night we went alive.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Friday night, we went out for dinner and it was
- 1:43Speaker 5: a situation where there was quite a big queue behind us.
- 1:45Speaker 5: It was just a you know, Cheapeak's Friday, and we
- 1:48Speaker 5: were looking at a menu and you had to order
- 1:49Speaker 5: it at the counter right, And we were like, if
- 1:51Speaker 5: we don't order now, we're going to have to go
- 1:53Speaker 5: sit down, decide what we want join this queue, and
- 1:55Speaker 5: my wife hated that. She's like, okay, okay, and this
- 1:57Speaker 5: has quickly picked something something as well. It all came out.
- 2:02Speaker 5: She instantly hated what she'd ordered, right, Yes, hated it,
- 2:05Speaker 5: ate some of it, hated it, and then spent the
- 2:07Speaker 5: rest of the meal disguising it to make it look
- 2:09Speaker 5: like we've eaten enough of it to leave it behind
- 2:11Speaker 5: and not be judged.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Sure, you know, like hiding bits like oh, can you
- 2:15Speaker 4: eat some of mine?
- 2:15Speaker 5: And blah blah blah blahlah blah blah. Mine was delicious,
- 2:18Speaker 5: and she was absolutely furious about it for the whole week.
- 2:21Speaker 5: He says, Oh, just because she's wasted a good Friday
- 2:23Speaker 5: night meal on something bad. Whereas I'm like most people,
- 2:27Speaker 5: this happens all the time, right.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Sure, Look, I think what's happened there, first and foremost,
- 2:33Speaker 2: MOGI is that your wife doesn't like being put under
- 2:36Speaker 2: pressure when it comes to ordering. I know that, and
- 2:38Speaker 2: so she probably immediately regretted the decision she made, yes,
- 2:43Speaker 2: and so when she got the food good, bad or different,
- 2:46Speaker 2: she already had that in her mindset.
- 2:48Speaker 3: This is just going to be terrible.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what I'm saying, yeah.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Having said that, like her, if I get it.
- 2:55Speaker 2: If I go up for dinner and I buy a
- 2:56Speaker 2: meal and it's terrible, it really pisses me off.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and me off. Or coffee or anything like that,
- 3:04Speaker 3: I get grumpy.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Yeah, coffee, I'm never happy with.
- 3:07Speaker 6: No.
- 3:07Speaker 7: I think she would have had high hopes, high dreams.
- 3:11Speaker 7: But I guess you just got to suck it up,
- 3:13Speaker 7: don't you. Really When you go out to a restaurant
- 3:15Speaker 7: and sometimes you get at bad like for example, where
- 3:17Speaker 7: we went on the weekend. I went for a birthday
- 3:20Speaker 7: dinner over on Wahiki Island.
- 3:23Speaker 4: It was like it's one of the.
- 3:24Speaker 7: Best restaurants that they've got over there, sort of one
- 3:27Speaker 7: of these flash joints kizer that you hate going to. Yeah,
- 3:30Speaker 7: and it was not up to standard man for the
- 3:33Speaker 7: price for the foot well not at all.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Oh wow, I would say, at all. Yeah, they did it.
- 3:41Speaker 4: You know, what do you call it?
- 3:42Speaker 7: A course of course came out and it came out,
- 3:45Speaker 7: you know, big table plates come out. I had carrots,
- 3:48Speaker 7: broccoli and mushrooms on It's okay, sweet, so serve up
- 3:50Speaker 7: some of those waiting for the waiting for the meat
- 3:52Speaker 7: to turn out.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Good stuff.
- 3:53Speaker 7: Nana, you eat that and then once you're finished eating
- 3:57Speaker 7: the vegetables, then we'll bring the meat out.
- 4:00Speaker 4: It was absolutely ridiculous and were you fhuman? Nah, just
- 4:04Speaker 4: as you roll the dice.
- 4:06Speaker 7: So like in that instance, like I will never go
- 4:09Speaker 7: back there, yes, and I would never recommend it to anybody,
- 4:12Speaker 7: and in fact, I recommend that people don't go there.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Yes.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Okay, So the thing we're running is we always have
- 4:17Speaker 5: a good hit rate because the first thing you do
- 4:19Speaker 5: is check you know, Google Reviews, Trip Advising, whatever it
- 4:21Speaker 5: might be, find out that it's got a high rating,
- 4:23Speaker 5: and then look at the food that has highly rated
- 4:25Speaker 5: their speciality, look at a photo of it, and then
- 4:28Speaker 5: order it. And you know, but I think that's taking
- 4:30Speaker 5: some of the fun out of ordering food at a restaurant. Yes, personally,
- 4:33Speaker 5: but yeah, it sounds like a massive wound. If I
- 4:35Speaker 5: had to get as bad enough at the moment, like
- 4:37Speaker 5: with my wife and I she'll go and I'm just
- 4:40Speaker 5: I'm just like, that'll do whatever it is she's having an.
- 4:43Speaker 7: Hiring, then she'll order it. She'll order it and then
- 4:46Speaker 7: she gives the gives the menu back to the weight
- 4:49Speaker 7: staff if they go. And I'm just sitting there a
- 4:51Speaker 7: stairing at my wife. How's it goin?
- 4:54Speaker 4: She's like good, I'm like, you're thinking about changing it? Yes?
- 4:58Speaker 7: Yes, yeah, she will go off and she will and
- 5:02Speaker 7: it was so rare that her first choice will stick,
- 5:05Speaker 7: especially if there's that pressure that you're talking about being
- 5:07Speaker 7: applied to the order.
- 5:08Speaker 5: Yeah, am I the only one that's experiencing this? If
- 5:10Speaker 5: anyone out there can relate it? All three four eight
- 5:12Speaker 5: three texted on through. Let us know, you get yourself
- 5:14Speaker 5: on the drawer from a fifty one night and day.
- 5:15Speaker 2: But I just want to make a point. You know,
- 5:17Speaker 2: if I hate my meal, I don't go on about it.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Though I've never been one to complain. I'm not saying
- 5:24Speaker 2: your wife did, because you know she was going to
- 5:26Speaker 2: hide the fact that she hated it, and then she banged.
- 5:28Speaker 3: On about it atle week and resentment and rage. What
- 5:31Speaker 3: do you do, kesy very quickly?
- 5:32Speaker 4: If it's bad? Yes, No, I don't complain. I just
- 5:35Speaker 4: go this is shit. I'm never coming back here again.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Yeah sure.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Anyway, The Whodarchy Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Kisey the Car's there on the radio. Hold Archy Big
- 5:46Speaker 2: Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is four fifty one
- 5:49Speaker 2: and we're heading into spring, heading into summer, and of
- 5:52Speaker 2: course if that brings the great game of Cricket fields.
- 5:56Speaker 5: The Hot Spring Spars T twenty Black Clash and association.
- 5:59Speaker 4: With wolfbro Flowers. Wow, it's back.
- 6:02Speaker 5: Wow this January's heading back down to christ Church to
- 6:05Speaker 5: the South Island Hagley Oval down there Saturday the eighteenth
- 6:08Speaker 5: of January twenty twenty five. It has sold out the
- 6:12Speaker 5: last few years in a row. It is a hot ticket,
- 6:14Speaker 5: so make sure you sign up to the waitlist right now.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Blackclash dot co dot nz if you would like to
- 6:18Speaker 5: see Team Cricket v Team Rugby. That's Dan Vittori, the
- 6:22Speaker 5: captain of Team Cricket taking on Karen Reid, captain of
- 6:25Speaker 5: teen Rugby. And of course Chris Gaale is officially playing
- 6:28Speaker 5: in the Black Class for the first time.
- 6:29Speaker 2: You know, and a lot of people have asked me
- 6:32Speaker 2: over the years, actually, why does Mogi absolutely punish himself
- 6:38Speaker 2: with these massive gym routines, the strict diets, you know,
- 6:43Speaker 2: and really put himself through the proverbial wing of the movie.
- 6:48Speaker 2: And I said, well, have you heard of the Black
- 6:50Speaker 2: Clash because the Fellers have to jump in a sparpool
- 6:54Speaker 2: in their budgie smugglers there, and old Moggi wants to
- 6:57Speaker 2: look his best.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Yeah that's right.
- 6:59Speaker 7: I mean started out as a commentator, sure, but once
- 7:03Speaker 7: the producers saw my rig, they were like, holy hecker, Yes,
- 7:08Speaker 7: let's get this boy in a spar pool. You know
- 7:12Speaker 7: on the side of the field there there'll be just
- 7:14Speaker 7: the ticket to get something for the Mum'skeezy. Yeah, the
- 7:16Speaker 7: dads as well. Here Actually, I've had a lot of
- 7:18Speaker 7: dads come up to me and asked to touch my rig.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And you know, just on that front. And full credit
- 7:24Speaker 2: to Keezy too because he gets in there with with
- 7:26Speaker 2: you and people are just as interested in seeing his been.
- 7:31Speaker 2: So you know, it's all there's lots, there's lots to
- 7:34Speaker 2: be looked at in terms of not just the cricket
- 7:37Speaker 2: but the feelings and the spa there.
- 7:39Speaker 5: So they look at Mike's amazing rig, yes, and my
- 7:42Speaker 5: giant burnt meat petty nipples.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Yes, that's pretty sweet. Do that again this year, hey,
- 7:49Speaker 4: fellas you remember.
- 7:54Speaker 6: Do you remember, like.
- 7:55Speaker 5: Twenty minutes ago when Jace floated us our idea of
- 7:58Speaker 5: having a tiny loaves Is it Jason's tiny loafs mini loaves,
- 8:03Speaker 5: that's right. And it was bread loaves for people who
- 8:05Speaker 5: maybe live alone and don't get through an entire loaf
- 8:08Speaker 5: of bread. Smaller bread loaves so that you don't end
- 8:10Speaker 5: up throwing away.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Half of it.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah, elderly couples and stuff like that, because in my
- 8:14Speaker 2: house we throw out so much bread and I feel
- 8:16Speaker 2: bad about it.
- 8:17Speaker 4: That's right.
- 8:17Speaker 5: And so of course someone's text through on three four
- 8:19Speaker 5: eight three feet it to the duck, the one that
- 8:21Speaker 5: does poos in your lounge once a week.
- 8:22Speaker 3: So apparently it's very bad to feed duck's bread. I
- 8:25Speaker 3: think they love it.
- 8:27Speaker 2: And they've got that thing at Western Springs down there,
- 8:30Speaker 2: where people have been checking in so much bread that
- 8:32Speaker 2: it creates some sort of lurgi in the water.
- 8:35Speaker 4: But that's right.
- 8:36Speaker 7: If it's in your lounge, want in your lounge. If
- 8:39Speaker 7: the duck's on your property, man, you can do whatever
- 8:41Speaker 7: you want to it.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true, that's true.
- 8:43Speaker 4: Your lounge is got to be a lurgy as well,
- 8:45Speaker 4: so who kids, you know, yeah.
- 8:47Speaker 5: Poos everywhere three four eight three one word genius, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Apparently you used to be able to buy half size
- 8:55Speaker 5: loaves in Australia, so they obviously.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Stopped it for some reason.
- 8:58Speaker 6: Wow, okay, Freezy Bread has.
- 9:01Speaker 5: Come through about a million times. I'm in hoidy jad
- 9:04Speaker 5: by them. Would you rather call them Hoidy Jay's mini chodes?
- 9:09Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 9:10Speaker 3: I could, I guess.
- 9:13Speaker 2: And it's a weird thing, you know, the more I
- 9:14Speaker 2: think about it, I've visualized the loaves in my head
- 9:18Speaker 2: and they're really cute, and the packaging is very bright
- 9:21Speaker 2: and sort of happy, and I can just see old
- 9:24Speaker 2: elderly couples, young people that are living alone going, oh
- 9:28Speaker 2: that's me, that's a bit of me.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:30Speaker 2: A little bit less price obviously than the main loaf,
- 9:33Speaker 2: but not too much less less price, you know, a
- 9:35Speaker 2: little bit less.
- 9:36Speaker 7: Price, a little less cost for a little less price,
- 9:38Speaker 7: for a little less bread.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Exactly exactly there, Mogi and different types.
- 9:43Speaker 3: You know, your old grains and all that sort of stuff.
- 9:46Speaker 5: You're really focusing on the elderly, like you really want
- 9:48Speaker 5: to picture the elderly eating your tiny loafe.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I often worry about the elderly.
- 9:54Speaker 2: And if you ask my wife, what really pulls at
- 9:57Speaker 2: my heart strings as seeing an old man then the
- 10:00Speaker 2: supermarket wearing a jersey with his collar over the top.
- 10:02Speaker 3: It just pulls on my heartstrings. I don't know why.
- 10:05Speaker 4: I don't know why yourself, Well, yeah, I guess so.
- 10:09Speaker 4: A couple of name suggestions here.
- 10:10Speaker 5: You've got Hoidy, Jay's toad Loaf or Hoggles or Hoggles
- 10:15Speaker 5: hot Bread.
- 10:16Speaker 4: I like chod Loaf, Jay's chad Loaf.
- 10:20Speaker 5: We're gonna what is it called when you put a
- 10:23Speaker 5: not patent pending.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Trademark trademarking? I'm going to write that right now.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Actually, hey, coming up after five Fellers, a bit of
- 10:30Speaker 5: a something that I've been toying with the possibility of
- 10:33Speaker 5: getting canceled one of these days.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Sure, I'm worried about it.
- 10:36Speaker 5: Handening, it's probably gonna if anything, it'll be this show
- 10:39Speaker 5: in a segment we just did earlier, And I just
- 10:41Speaker 5: want to run through a few scenarios as to what
- 10:42Speaker 5: I would do if that was the case, so that
- 10:44Speaker 5: when it inevitably happens, you're.
- 10:45Speaker 4: How to deal with that. Is it all good?
- 10:47Speaker 5: Yeah, no worries, mate, Thanks Fowlers.
- 10:50Speaker 1: The Hiarchy Big Show week days from four on Radio Hodarky.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Guns Roses there on the Radiocke Big Show.
- 11:02Speaker 3: This this Wednesdy afternoon. Now, listen, a little while back.
- 11:07Speaker 2: We were running a fishing competition where you could win
- 11:10Speaker 2: a trip with the Big Show and we could go
- 11:12Speaker 2: out there on the old hodaky golf and do a
- 11:14Speaker 2: bit of fishing.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Feels that's happening finally tomorrow morning. Are we excited? Are
- 11:19Speaker 3: we fizzing?
- 11:20Speaker 7: It's been a while, man, it's been in the works
- 11:21Speaker 7: for a long long time. Yes, mostly you've been unavailable
- 11:27Speaker 7: that We've had to keep shifting things around and around
- 11:30Speaker 7: the around, which is a shade, especially since I love fishing.
- 11:33Speaker 7: But the beauty of it is, you know now it's springs.
- 11:37Speaker 7: So it was meant to happen in the middle of
- 11:39Speaker 7: winter and.
- 11:40Speaker 5: It's been canceled for weather reasons and obviously Hoidy joan availability.
- 11:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I know. Sure.
- 11:44Speaker 2: The great thing about it too, is the water is
- 11:46Speaker 2: warming up, which means the fish are coming back in fels.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Here come the fish.
- 11:50Speaker 2: So we are going to be having some beautiful snapper
- 11:54Speaker 2: guaranteed tomorrow night for Tea.
- 11:56Speaker 5: So here's a question, because we're going out, a couple
- 11:58Speaker 5: of winters are coming with us. I have been fishing
- 12:00Speaker 5: on a boat in bloody years. We did at the
- 12:03Speaker 5: beginning of the year, we went fishing on a boat,
- 12:05Speaker 5: remember that, on the really big boat. I didn't join
- 12:08Speaker 5: in because I'm not much of a fisherman.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Sure well, you said it's a bit smelly and stinky.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Weh, there's that also, I don't like fish, a big
- 12:16Speaker 4: part of it. Part of it. If you could catch chicken,
- 12:20Speaker 4: sure i'd get my ride.
- 12:21Speaker 5: You would too, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll be keen. So
- 12:23Speaker 5: what do I need to bring tomorrow because we're leaving
- 12:25Speaker 5: at dawn.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Well, look, I think the reality is it's all going
- 12:28Speaker 2: to be provided. I'll bring some of my own gearsis
- 12:31Speaker 2: for your keys, you know, sort of beginner rods that
- 12:33Speaker 2: I've got a couple that I bought for my kids.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Well you have to have a beginner rod. Can I
- 12:37Speaker 4: have a full blown rod?
- 12:38Speaker 2: No, because, as you say, you've never really been a
- 12:41Speaker 2: fisherman and stuff. The only thing about them is they're
- 12:44Speaker 2: pink because of four girls. But I've got little fisher
- 12:47Speaker 2: rods and you can catch a little sprats off the
- 12:49Speaker 2: side of the then I can use your sprats for
- 12:52Speaker 2: live bait.
- 12:52Speaker 5: Once I'm sort of mastered the small rod for.
- 12:56Speaker 3: You, it's leave the big rods to the big boys.
- 13:01Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, you're probably safer in your hands, totally, right, Yeah.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Or there's plenty of that you can do.
- 13:06Speaker 7: You can be like the dick end, you know, and
- 13:09Speaker 7: you can sort of clean the toilet and the deck
- 13:14Speaker 7: because I know that the captain is always keen to
- 13:16Speaker 7: him as deck cleaned.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Yeah, because there's always fish guts and stuff everywhere.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Well, I'd rather not.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Go out fishing and spend the whole time cleaning the
- 13:23Speaker 5: Kevin's deck, I'm sure you. I'd rather be using the
- 13:26Speaker 5: big rods.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Or my concern is and I don't want to make
- 13:30Speaker 2: this about you, Keezy, because it's not because it's not alright,
- 13:33Speaker 2: because two minutes forty seconds it kind of has been.
- 13:38Speaker 3: But I know that you get quite woozy, do you
- 13:41Speaker 3: know that?
- 13:42Speaker 2: And you've got your swimmers here and that gets a
- 13:44Speaker 2: little bit of balanced.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Yeah right, So, and so I bought some sea sickness pills.
- 13:52Speaker 4: For you, okay, yeah, yeah, just because you get a
- 13:54Speaker 4: bit queasy. I do on the high seasy there.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Yeah, we should check the weather marine forecast, oh.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Yes, and also have two forms of communication.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Like yeah, yeah, and I'm sure they will because we're
- 14:09Speaker 2: going out with professionals.
- 14:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:11Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, so like in terms of my outfit, yeah,
- 14:14Speaker 5: do I have to have like a fishing well essentially it's.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Formal, were is it? Yeah?
- 14:18Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, it's like when we went to the boxing
- 14:20Speaker 7: the other week, Chase. Yes, it's at least it's got
- 14:23Speaker 7: to be a jacket and shirt. Tires optional, Okay, yeah yeah,
- 14:27Speaker 7: probably were.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Slacks. Yeah, a boat shoes because we're on a boat.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Yes, definitely boat shoes. I can borrow some a pug sounds.
- 14:36Speaker 4: I didn't.
- 14:37Speaker 5: I didn't realize it was because I was going to
