- 0:00This episode is brought to you by anyway. Before Quincy gets into the story,
- 0:07I just want to say, Craig David, that album Born to Do
- 0:11It, You're the go bro. Yeah that's the pod man. I'm still
- 0:17listening right now. That's a classic. But yeah, that was kind of
- 0:25crazy. Dog. You call me, what night was it? Uh?
- 0:28Monday night? Monday night night? Bro? You call me and I and
- 0:32told me something like that was the last thing I would have ever expected to
- 0:35hear, and that situation was just crazy. To tell the people what happened
- 0:38to you? Man? Bro? When I called him, just so you
- 0:41know, Joe, because you don't even know this as well. When I
- 0:43called him, the first thing I said was, Yo, I got a
- 0:46vent. And because I was, we're supposed to be working on music back
- 0:50that night. So I was like, let me just let you know before
- 0:53you even think this is about music, I got a vent. And so
- 0:56I'm telling him this story and basically, man, what happened Monday night.
- 1:00I'm working on this verse for um a collap joint that we was thinking about
- 1:04doing, and basically, um, my dogs are just barking, barking,
- 1:08barking, barking, barking, and I'm like, what is going on?
- 1:11So I come out, um, you know, Robin, and she comes
- 1:14out. I'm like, yo, what's good. She's like I don't know.
- 1:17Um. And it's like really dreary that night, like like it's like
- 1:21real dark but dusk almost it's raining. You can't even see out the glass,
- 1:26you know, the windows were like trying to figure out what's going on,
- 1:30like literally like a scary movie. So you know, at this point,
- 1:33I grab my gun, I go out to the back dock immediately grab
- 1:38I go out to the back deck and like I hear it sounds almost like
- 1:42a hurricane outside. And but then when I go out there, it's like
- 1:47it's raining, but it's like almost like drizzling. Like you know what I'm
- 1:49saying. It just didn't make sense. And so then I go to my
- 1:53pool and the water is gone, and I look under my deck and all
- 1:59I see is a river basically flowing from under my deck to my neighbor's pool.
- 2:04Like it's just flowing to my neighbor's pool. Well, before you keep
- 2:07going your pool, I mean your property, like the land is higher than
- 2:12your neighbor's exactly, so neighbor's lower than you. So literally it's like a
- 2:16perfect like it's just a perfect path to the land goes from your pool to
- 2:23their pool exactly. And before I even continue, thank god that the path
- 2:28is like that, because if it had gone to their house, their house
- 2:30would have been flooded for shore yea shore so damn. So you know,
- 2:37I'm like, oh snaps, I put the gun down. I'm trying to
- 2:39figure out, like because the pump is still going, and now I'm thinking,
- 2:44let me go turn the pump off because there's no water going through it.
- 2:46That's gonna mess the pump up, you know. So I'm going to
- 2:49the pump and like the water's flowing too my neighbor's house, but it's also
- 2:53coming out with so much pressure that when I go to the pump, like
- 2:57I'm literally going through mud up to my knees, Like you know, I'm
- 3:00saying, like that high of mud to get to the pump, and uh
- 3:04so I turn off the pump. When you said that, all I could
- 3:08imagine was deep blue sea, you know, when they were trying to yea
- 3:14and everything. Yeah, it was like sliding across and grabbing it. Like
- 3:17I just like that. It was wild and so so damn. So water
- 3:23is still flowing out, still flowing out. I go inside. I let
- 3:24Robin know exactly what was going on. I come back outside, and then
- 3:29I'm realizing because where I live, the ground or like it's clay, you
- 3:32know what I'm saying. So it's like, you know, whenever it comes
- 3:36up or water soaks, it's like red clay basically everywhere. Well, this
- 3:40clay is now flowing with the water into my neighbor's pool, and so I'm
- 3:47watching it. I'm just thinking like, oh my god, like you know,
- 3:51So at that point I kind of was like, look, there's nothing
- 3:53I can do. We went to the neighbor's house that night. Um it
- 3:57was like nine thirty, but all their lights was out. I was like,
- 4:00if they're sleep, because they're older people, they're older white couple.
- 4:02I'm like, if they're sleeping, I'm not about to wake them up with
- 4:04this. So like we're just gonna come back in the morning, go to
- 4:08sleep. That night literally could not get that off my mind. Probably had
- 4:11like three different dreams about that pool, and then woke up, went to
- 4:15the neighbor's house. Nobody's home, so I leave a note. So now
- 4:19it's daytime, I'm able to actually see what happened. I go outside and
- 4:25it looks like basically when you look under the deck, you can see that
- 4:29the pool structure itself basically exploded outward. So when the pool exploded outward,
- 4:36um, you know, the pressure from the water basically ripped the liner and
- 4:41the water just flow it out. And so now it's a work day.
- 4:45You know, I'm dealing with work and I'm thinking about this all day,
- 4:47but I'm stressed out because like as much as I'm like, yo, we
- 4:51gotta fix this pool and paid to get that line like redone, like you
- 4:58just got the pool like super prep ready to go, like you hadn't even
- 5:01gotten a chance to go in it yet. Facts like literally we got it
- 5:05done about a month ago and hadn't even had a chance to actually really enjoy
- 5:10it because it's just been a busy few weeks. And so you know,
- 5:15the whole day goes by. We end up having a pool guy come out
- 5:18to assess the damages because now we got to file a claim with our insurance
- 5:23and all that aside. But the only thing that was really concerning me was
- 5:27like, yo, then I gotta do it. My neighbor. You know
- 5:29what I'm saying, Like, I really hope like they you know, obviously
- 5:32that's out of my control, but I really hope that they're not going to
- 5:34be assholes about it. You know what I'm saying, Like it's something you
- 5:36didn't mention either. Early in the morning, you went over there, they
- 5:40weren't there, and you left a note. Yeah. Yeah, so I
- 5:43left the note, and so I waiting all day and bam, so got
- 5:46the quote. Well no, I didn't get the quote yet, but basically
- 5:49the poor guy came out. And then around six thirty seven o'clock at night,
- 5:54I get a call from an Atlanta number, you know. So I
- 5:57answer, and I basically playing to the neighbor of what happened, and like
- 6:01the exact opposite of what I expected was his reaction. Mind you, if
- 6:05you've been following this pod, you know, I mentioned about a couple of
- 6:10months ago when I went out on a trip and lost my wallet and came
- 6:13back and my wallet was at my door, like basically just waiting for me.
- 6:17So I've already had a good experience in my you know, where I
- 6:20live. My neighbor responds with, oh man, yeah, that's that's that
- 6:26sucks, man, Well, don't worry about it. I'll take care of
- 6:29my pool and you just deal with your own, you know situation. I
- 6:32was gonna get it cleaned anyway, so I'll just take care of it.
- 6:35And he proceeds to fill me in that, you know, the people that
- 6:41owned the house before us, apparently they had the pool sitting covered since like
- 6:46twenty sixteen, twenty seventeen. So now that tells me that the pool was
- 6:49dry routed and that was not disclosed to us, you know what I'm saying
- 6:53when we bought the home, So now we know exactly what the issue was.
- 6:58You know what I'm saying. We got the the assessment done from the
- 7:00pool, we got that quote back to get it basically rebuilt completely, and
- 7:04gonna go ahead and file out with the insurance company. But yeah, man,
- 7:08crazy crazy, crazy story the neighbor. Man, I ain't gonna lie,
- 7:13Like already told Robin, we got to do something for them when you
- 7:15know what I'm saying the road time. Yeah, man's so crazy. How
- 7:20despite it being like a pain in the ass that you gotta deal with,
- 7:25it worked out in the best way it could have worked out. And it's
- 7:28all for a reason, you know what I mean, Like we talked about
- 7:30it, We kind of touched on it. We were playing video games,
- 7:32Like you could have been in the pool, or you know, people could
- 7:35have been there, or it just could have been or could have happened before
- 7:39the engagement party, or like it could have rolled into your house, like
- 7:44all the things that it could have been to made this shit like it almost
- 7:48yeah, for the way to turn down in your neighbor to bless you that
- 7:51kind of just like you take that ship on the chin and be like,
- 7:54all right, this ain't nothing. And something something you mentioned that day,
- 7:58Quence, he was like and Matt and it was at a different time and
- 8:01y'all was in the pool. Your neighbors was in the their pool. Yeah,
- 8:05and like it would have it could have got crazy, you know what
- 8:07I mean, absolutely crazy. Man. It's just a bar that I've heard
- 8:11before that I always think about because I really truly believe it, But um,
- 8:16it goes. I got got on my side always down the ride,
- 8:18and I feel like, bro, I go through things like this and I
- 8:22feel like I always walk away very blessed. You know what I'm saying that
- 8:26the situation when you lead with the right energy, like when you're when you're
- 8:31brought problems, the problems are just like obstacles that are in the way.
- 8:35It's not associated with any like you don't have any any fault in it as
- 8:39far as like you didn't do anything that was messed up and causing. So
- 8:43you're just dealing with it, assessing it and dealing with it, you know
- 8:48what I'm saying, As opposed to you're not like like, oh man,
- 8:52I did X, Y and Z and that's why I'm in this situation.
- 8:54It's like, no, you did everything with the best intention, it ain't
- 8:58work out by by bad luck, and now you're dealing with it, you
- 9:03know what I mean. You know, well, real quick, this is
- 9:05not part of our topic. But I saw this today, like probably like
- 9:07an hour before we started this. It was on Facebook, and it was
- 9:13a post saying that you don't have to tell yourself how much worse it could
- 9:18have been in order to feel better. And they call it like toxic negativity,
- 9:22And I saw that aspect of it. But then I kept thinking,
- 9:26I was like, yeah, but at the same time, something happening,
- 9:30even something that's gonna cost you money, something that you gotta is gonna be
- 9:33a headache and paying asses you gotta deal with no other choice. Happened,
- 9:39but you should still consider yourself blessed and fortunate and you know, having ability
- 9:46to fix it. You anythink about all those situations where it could have been
- 9:48worse, And I think that just kind of emphasizes that, hey, something
- 9:52happened, and this ain't shit. You know, this same shit. I'm
- 9:56gonna perspective of it. Yeah, I'm gonna take care of me, like
- 9:58ye, it's something. Um, it's funny you say that, Joe,
- 10:01because I had did a post this week just talking about like I've been having
- 10:05like a rough couple of weeks and like just would wished you where you're at
- 10:11today exactly like and then I think about it and it's like, these are
- 10:13the problems that I literally like before I wished I had these problems, you
- 10:18know what I mean? Like this is like a different level and like everything
- 10:22is like like things are happening, but it's like like what happened with Quincy,
- 10:26you know what I'm saying. It's like you're leading with the right foot.
- 10:31Sometimes things happen. You can't control that. All you can do is,
- 10:35hey, let me assess this attack it the right way because that's something
- 10:39even um, it's not something I'm gonna talk about because it's still kind of
- 10:41going on. But like I had called Quincy about an issue that I'm having,
- 10:46He's just like, you know, you just gotta keep your cool and
- 10:48and and hit it like in a calm way, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:52And it ended up benefiting me greatly by keeping that in my head,
- 10:58you know when the situation happened, you know what I'm mean. So it's
- 11:01like you when you're when you leave with the right foot, I'm not you
- 11:05know, when that good energy stuff like that's where people kind of take it
- 11:07the wrong way. They think, like, oh, the things we're talking
- 11:11about, you're not gonna have problems in your life. It's like you're still
- 11:13gonna have problems because problems is gonna pop up, but it's not gonna be
- 11:16problems that you cause for being an idiot, right, And that's how you
- 11:22react to every single thing that you go through in life continues to to find
- 11:24you. It continues to make you a presci hard and so that builds builds
- 11:30character. Were talking about building character all the time. So when little shit
- 11:33happens, and that's why I always you know, a nod celested for fully
- 11:39controlling, and now he has shit that he can process without even a thought.
- 11:43Like we were we were all talking about our problems in the chat room
- 11:46this week, and I was talking about how my energy is messed up.
- 11:50I felt quinisid energy is messed up unless it's like I aren't even tureing about
- 11:54that ship. We all handed a little differently now regard situation, but that
- 12:00how you react to anything, whether it's big, and how you see how
- 12:03much bigger it could have been, whether it's small, and you see how
- 12:05much bigger it could have been. It's still that. I think that helps
- 12:09build your character. I think that's important to remind yourself that it's not as
- 12:13bad as it could be where you can't even handle it. Fact, my
- 12:18wife even like hey, because she was kind of stressing about it, and
- 12:20I'm like, hey, look at it this way. Did we do anything
- 12:24wrong? No? Is there's just an issue that we have to deal with
- 12:26that's not even affecting us going forward, Like the situation is not making a
- 12:31difference of how we lead our lives day to day. You know what I'm
- 12:35saying, it's just a situation that we have to handle apart from what we're
- 12:39doing right what I'm saying, So I had to kind of tell her,
- 12:41like, hey, don't even think about this because it literally doesn't help you
- 12:43at all to think about it, because there's nothing to think about. It's
- 12:48just plain black and white. Let's just keep putting our energy towards the ultimate
- 12:52goal, you know what I mean. I mean, it's all perspective,
- 12:56bro. Like, I think that's you know, kind of what we were
- 13:01discussing. As far as me and the counseling and stuff like that. That's
- 13:05been my big thing with going through counseling right now, is like shifting my
- 13:09perspective, you know what I'm saying on certain things, and I can I
- 13:13can easily now say that, you know, I'm starting to realize when I'm
- 13:18looking at things a certain way, like kind of like how things trigger me,
- 13:20you know what I mean, which is actually really dope, because again,
- 13:24it goes back to perspective. It goes back to like, all right,
- 13:26this is what happened. This is how I'm going to move about it,
- 13:30This is how I decided that I'm gonna feel about it, and I'm
- 13:33gonna proceed, but it's not going to mess up my piece exactly. It's
- 13:37like it can't get in the way your flow, you know what I mean.
- 13:41It's this in different thing. Um. I wanted to say, there
- 13:46is someone who when I worked for this company, my first company work with
- 13:50when I started this industry twenty years ago. I worked with them with thirteen
- 13:52years, and we kind of touched on this quincy too. The conversation will
- 13:56happen. After thirteen years, I knew it was it. I knew there's
- 14:00nothing more I can do as myself in that company to increase my value,
- 14:05to make anybody see me as more than what I am. So I left
- 14:09and ever since then, I have been able to prove my worth everywhere I
- 14:13went, and it works. There was somebody there who I admired and I
- 14:16looked up to, and I learned from and I took advice from. And
- 14:22today, after twenty eight years with that company, they quit. And they
- 14:28quit for their mental health. They said, I don't want to fall asleep,
- 14:33no more worrying about work. I don't want to just deal with this
- 14:37stress everything like it's not worth it for me anymore. And I commented it,
- 14:39and I was like, um yeah, I was like, you're a
- 14:41great leader. I took all your advices, still hold it with me today.
- 14:46And he told me he's like, he's proud of me how far I
- 14:48pushed myself and to the point where he looks up to me now and it's
- 14:52crazy. And it's just like, no matter how set you are, you
- 14:56never know if you're gonna be feeling this way forever. Your perspective, I
- 15:01feel it's going to continue to change throughout your la matter hale and this this
- 15:05guy's in his sixties, probably you know your perspectives never going to change,
- 15:11and you have to continuously remember that because when it does, the way you
- 15:16react to that is gonna be how you react to everything that's changed your life
- 15:20before that. And that's why I think people kind of lose himself in just
- 15:24the day to day and forget that, Yo, you're still a programmable computer
- 15:28that's continuously being programmed. And you know, sometimes the computer don't work the
- 15:33same way after one day, and it never works the same way again.
- 15:37And so seeing him right that and he might not even go back in the
- 15:41industry or even do what he was doing. He doesn't even know he's taking
- 15:43thirty days off and then he's just gonna figure it out. He's just gonna
- 15:48figure out what he wants to do. And that's crazy to me because I
- 15:50thought, oh, when I mean that position, I'm right it out to
- 15:54that retire. Never did I think, what if I'm in that position one
- 15:56day and I get sick of it and I want to quit and that so
- 16:00I was like, you know, I'll leave that for that, But it's
- 16:03never You're never setting stone. You're never setting stone. Man. That that
- 16:07thing taught me a lot right there, reading that and seeing someone who I
- 16:10thought was in that path or that same path, I'm going like, damn,
- 16:14there's there might be a left turn somewhere in this path one day,
- 16:17but I'll be ready for it. I'll be ready to deal with it.
- 16:22Facts. Man, It's it's crazy because that even it ties into like something
- 16:30that I've been thinking about a lot lately, Slash. It's just been kind
- 16:33of coming up in different ways, but like specifically, the way we can
- 16:37put it is like being underrated. And the way I kind of connected to
- 16:41the job thing that you're talking about, Joe, is like sometimes in jobs
- 16:45or in the situations like that, guy, he might have felt like,
- 16:48you know, what he was doing wasn't being recognized. Also, you know
- 16:52what I'm saying, because you know, underrated is like like, you know,
- 16:56for to do something twenty eight years and to be somebody that you took
- 16:59so much from obviously he was a valuable piece. Yeah, you know what
- 17:02I'm saying. And it gets to a point where you're probably thinking, dang,
- 17:04you know, for how much output I put, I don't understand why
- 17:08I'm getting this level of stress, you know what I'm saying, and you
- 17:12know, not getting the slack that I feel like I deserve, you know
- 17:15what I mean. And the underrated thing is like so fascinating to me because
- 17:22it only makes sense in certain settings, like, for example, something like
- 17:26the NBA that you were talking about Joe, the Nuggets being so underrated,
- 17:30people still asking them about the Lakers, like even though they swept them,
- 17:33like they're literally going to the finals with a conference finals sweep. The guy
- 17:37that's your main star set the record for triple doubles, a record that's been
- 17:42around since the sixties. Triple doubles in a playoff series, I mean,
- 17:47in a playoff run. Your second star average thirty two and a half points
- 17:52in the sweep. Think about that, Jamal Murray average thirty two and a
- 17:57half points in the suite. So that's like they're playing the pinnacle of basketball
- 18:03right now and people are asking them about the Lakers. But at the same
- 18:07time, it's like, yeah, they're underrated. But in basketball, it's
- 18:11wins, losses, numbers. At the end of the day, you got
- 18:15the facts to prove it because you're going to the finals and they're not.
- 18:19Now. In something else, like let's say music, you can debate it,
- 18:26but to me, music is kind of the same. If you make
- 18:27dope music and you reach your fans, nobody can tell that person they're a
- 18:33fan or not. You know what I'm saying, Like that person decides it
- 18:37with what you're doing. So it's like, you can be underrated in music,
- 18:41but if you're connecting with your fans and you're putting out the music that
- 18:47you know is your best work, it don't even really matter. It might
- 18:49matter for your ego, it might matter for you know, rankings in your
- 18:53mind or whatever, but at the end of the day, it don't really
- 18:56matter. I agree, yeah, and it was you know, it's funny.
- 19:02It's like that in the Bubble year, the COVID year in the NBA,
- 19:06it was the Nuggets who lost to the Lakers. They lost, and
- 19:08they were never talked about again. Yeah, you know, and now they're
- 19:11here playing the same team and they beat the shit out of them, and
- 19:15they still talking about the team that lost. Yeah. I will say that
- 19:18a lot of people that really know basketball they wrote the Nuggets off. But
- 19:22it was because a lot of them knew that without Jamal Murray, they didn't
- 19:26have that extra layer to really get somewhere, you know what I mean,
- 19:30Like like Yogis, Don't get me wrong, he was playing tremendous, keeping
- 19:34them afloat, playing hard and you know, just playing not even just playing
- 19:40hard, playing like legendary absence. But at the end of the day,
- 19:42he was one guy bro. Like he's he was surrounded by a whole bunch
- 19:47of injured in Bubble after the Bubble, the season after he got I think
- 19:52it might have been even in that same playoff room. I don't remember exactly,
- 19:55but he's he just came back this year and like it took him a
- 19:57little while to kind of get a rhythm and stuff. No, but I
- 20:00think that falls into favoritism man, and people show their true colors before the
- 20:06outcome, and then once the outcome comes out, they're still talking about their
- 20:10favorites, whether their favorites one or not. And that's there's any any role
- 20:15you're at, like anywhere you're at in your business or your career, is
- 20:18you're gonna reach a point where you earn the spot that you're at and you
- 20:23deserve the spot more than somebody else, But everybody's still just gonna pick the
- 20:26favorite because that's what they're gonna do, no matter how good you are.
- 20:30And that's just something that you're gonna have to continuously fight for. And I
- 20:34think it's a fight. I think you should never stop fighting to continue to
- 20:37not prove yourself to people, but just continuously to be a person of themselves.
- 20:44And what yeah, who excels them when you do. Let us speak
- 20:45for itself. You don't got to sell nobody nothing you said, Like,
- 20:49yeah, you said, not prove yourself to people. It's more like proving
- 20:52yourself to you because you know people like constantly doubting you or constantly counting you
- 20:57out. You know what I'm saying, do the work to prove it to
- 21:02you that you know what I'm saying. I am worth this. I am
- 21:03you know what I mean, like that guy, and I'm lucky like my
- 21:07wife. It doesn't care because I can't really tell people what I do for
- 21:12a living like that's awesome, you know, like it it doesn't makes sense
- 21:18to anybody. So sometimes I'll stay here and I'll show her the shit I
- 21:22do. I'm like, I'm nice, right, Like I'm nice. And
- 21:26that's why I like. It's me really finally admitting to myself, like,
- 21:29yeah, I am like good at the fuck I do. I deserve to
- 21:33be here. I deserve to earn this ship because I am actually good at
- 21:38what the fuck I do, Like you see this ship. So sometimes you
- 21:41get caught up and just doing it for so long. And that's why I
- 21:45like when people hate on Lebron for when he's blunt and like the eagle comes
- 21:48out at the end of the day. If you if you if you do
- 21:51it something for twenty years and you're doing it better than you did twenty years
- 21:53ago, that's something to talk shit about, Yes, something to talk shit
- 21:56about, and you don't have to do it every single day. But if
- 22:00you don't talk shit about if you don't remind yourself how good you are at
- 22:03what you do. You're you're just gonna forget that. You're gonna and then
- 22:07you're gonna let people forget that and that That's something that I never want to
- 22:10do, and that's what I want to fight for for us. My life
- 22:11just continues to be good what I'm doing, So I know, no matter
- 22:15what people say, I'm fucking good at what I do. But I know
- 22:18everybody says like they got haters. But if somebody can do something for twenty
- 22:22years and twenty years later be better, like whether you like them or not,
- 22:27but you gotta acknowledge that greatness because that's great. Not everybody walks around,
- 22:33um, you know, basically saying like yo, I've been doing this
- 22:36for twenty years and I'm still that guy. And that's the crazy thing about
- 22:40that argument, like between Lebron and Jordan, because I'm not gonna lie I'm
- 22:44a Jordan guy. Joe is a Lebron guy. But I hate the part
- 22:48of the argument where people try to kind of dismiss Lebron in any kind of
- 22:52way. It's like, Bro, you're talking about a guy that has been
- 22:55an a level player from his rookie season to year twenty. He has never
- 23:02been whacked, he has never been not out, and he's barely been injured,
- 23:07barely's missing injured. By how are you gonna try and say like he's
- 23:14not on the level like bro, he's on the Jordan level. Like you
- 23:18can't say that he ain't on the level like that. That's just crazy,
- 23:22you know what I mean? And that's why I feel like I think the
- 23:25main reason I'm so pro Lebron is because the comparative, like how much I
- 23:30relate to him. We're literally the same age. We graduated high school the
- 23:34same time, entered our careers at the same time, and we're both doing
- 23:38the same shit we've done since we started for twenty years now. I've literally
- 23:42been doing this shit for twenty years this month when I first started in my
- 23:47career. I've been doing my same shit for twenty years. And that's why
- 23:51I'm like, That's why it's like I can't go yeah, but now I
- 23:56know when in my workplace, I'm respected by people who know that, and
- 24:00I don't got to tell anybody that I don't. I don't sit here like
- 24:03when when I'm meeting your teammates, I don't ever tell my story, but
- 24:07I'll never tell my story of them. You want to love my story,
- 24:08go to my LinkedIn Like that's not important. But there's a reason why I
- 24:12am as good as I am. It's because I made sure that I over
- 24:17these twenty years that I've continuously work continues to improve things. You put put
- 24:21in more knowledge and learn more and just be trying to be better what I
- 24:26am. And and that that goes across the board. That goes across the
- 24:29board with taking care of yourself, your health, manage your relationships with your
- 24:33family, with your with your partners, with your friends. It's like you
- 24:38want to just be better at everything that you do, no matter what.
- 24:42And I think that's that should never end. And also you know it the
- 24:48right way. Like that's another thing people kind of like forget bro, Like
- 24:52twenty years, whether we still have not seen this man and no scandals,
- 24:56no no bad media. You know what I'm saying, nothing, you know.
- 25:00So it's like built a whole school, got a whole night gi VICI
- 25:04himed after him as a foundation, and I don't I don't know what else
- 25:10if I was saying, I would definitely so yeah, day my boy,
- 25:12sends me the me and my other boy, who's a big MJ. Fan.
- 25:18He sends us that video that we all seen years ago where where Jordan
- 25:23said he can't call himself to cook because he hasn't played against all the ones
- 25:26before him, and then Lebron saying when he beat that warrior seventy three,
- 25:32seventy two, and nineteen, that's when he knew he was the greatest of
- 25:34all time. Yeah, Brah, I don't know what to tell you.
- 25:38So my response was points were made. Broun knows he's the greatest. Jordan
- 25:42doesn't. That's it. I don't know. That's what I got out of
- 25:45that video. And the thing about that too, is like Jordan says that
- 25:48in the interview, but then you hear all the crazy stuff he would say
- 25:52on the court. Yeah he was cat. It's like, bro, you're
- 25:56doing the same thing too, you know what I mean? You just you
- 26:00know you're trying to take the humble route in the interview, but you're the
- 26:02same too, Bro, Like motherfucker cry because he said people don't agree with
- 26:07the way he is and the way he sees things. That means he knows
- 26:10he's the greatest, And I love Jordan, Like, I don't doubt Jordan,
- 26:14but I think I grew up to to feel like I relate more to
- 26:18the Lebrons of the world. And there's Jordan's before me, who think there's
- 26:21so much greater than me. But like dog, it's a little different now.
- 26:26Yeah, to me, the difference always has been this, like when
- 26:30when those moments happened for Jordan's he always delivered. Bro, you always knew
- 26:37the ball was going to him, but but it did go to Steve Kerr
- 26:41once. No, no, but it went to him originally he made the
- 26:45past you know what I mean. But I'm saying like you knew the ball,
- 26:48you knew the ball was going. No, I'm not saying like he
- 26:49made no he did, he didn't make the pass, But just the fact
- 26:55that like Jordan's Like Bro, that Game four, for example, bro Lebron
- 27:00got blocked by Aaron Gordon and stripped by Jamal Murray. Bro, Like he
- 27:03didn't even get a shot off, Like come on, man, Like you
- 27:07don't even get a shot off, like, and he was just so passive
- 27:11in that fourth quarter. It's like, Bro, I know you could destroy
- 27:15this dude right now, Like, what are you even doing? Bro.
- 27:18Yeah, I will say I gets more frustrated. Bro. Yeah, I
- 27:22will say the way that your kitchen was attacking the basket compared to Lebron.
- 27:26Like, I know, Lebron's on year at twenty, I get it.
- 27:29But at the same time, Bro, like you're Lebron, Bro, y'all
- 27:32you gotta take over. You know what Davis? Bro? Anthony Davis had
- 27:36four field goals halfway through the fourth quarter. Bro. That averages out to
- 27:40a field goal a quarter. Brood, what good me and myself that when
- 27:45Lebron turned on in that Warriors final, Kyrie turned on with him. You
- 27:51know what I'm saying, He turned on with him. Lebron turned on that
- 27:55first quarter. Ad didn't do shit, Bro, he didn't do shit.
- 28:00And that's the difference between an All Star player. And that's why they want
- 28:03Kyrie on that team. Facts exactly Like everybody. It's it's what everybody says.
- 28:08They're like, oh man, teams are stupid for trying to get Kyrie
- 28:12whatever, Like, Bro, when you could get a Kyrie, a Jimmy
- 28:18Butler, a Lebron. You know what I'm saying, Like, come on,
- 28:22Bro, these are different players. These are guys that you could you
- 28:26could lean on, you know what I'm saying. So it's like that's the
- 28:30difference between like a really good and super golded you know what I'm saying.
- 28:34It's like what we played Call of Duty, Bro, we know who could
- 28:37we could get dubs with, and we know who we run with just to
- 28:40run games with them, you know what I'm saying. But we know when
- 28:42it's a squad, I'll be like, all right, this is a dub
- 28:45squad right here. They know they're the same way. I bet the NBA
- 28:49feels the same way. And everybody clowns Lebron maybe because he's the most obvious
- 28:53about, you know, kind of documented that talent around him, about how
- 29:00he feels about the talent around him. I'm sure every team has that.
- 29:03Like, Yo, the first team, three out of five of us are
- 29:07scrubs, but we're still gonna wrong with them. But we're probably not gonna
- 29:11win a lot of games, but we're gonna wrong with them. And I
- 29:14think that's a lot of teams are And Lebron gets shade for being vocal about
- 29:18it, and we're trying to do some about it within the organization, but
- 29:21he knows, he knows who's gonna who gonna turn up with him and who's
- 29:23not a d should have And I know he disappointed in him. I know
- 29:26he disappointed him. But that's the thing too, is that And it's my
- 29:30bad real quick. That's the thing too that people fail to like mention when
- 29:34we talk about Jordan. Jordan for a good amount of time had people like
- 29:40that around him at all times, all times, like you know what I
- 29:44mean, And don't get me wrong, Jordan's that guy. But I will
- 29:47never shade Jordan at all. But I will say that comparison, it's a
- 29:51completely different comparison. I will say this though, is I agree with you,
- 29:56But also I feel like the reason why these guys were able to deliver
- 30:00that is because he was leading the way you know what I'm saying, Like
- 30:04those moments that you see of Lebron that you know he should be attacking,
- 30:08Jordan would be attacking. Yeah, And that and the way Lebron gives up
- 30:15at the end of plays. He stops playing defense if somebody on his team
- 30:18did something that he like, if he's like you had a lax, yeah,
- 30:23he's not gonna play defense on the next play. Bro. Jordan did
- 30:26not do that in Big Games. Bro, he might have did it here
- 30:30and there. I don't know, because everybody can do whatever. He might
- 30:33have did it here and there, but I'm telling you, in Big Games
- 30:36he was not taking no plays off. He was not looking at somebody blaming
- 30:40them and not you know, trying to still win the game. Like,
- 30:42Bro, all that stuff is what makes the people around you greater. Bro.
- 30:47If you're not and I'm not saying Lebron and don't make people around him
- 30:51great, But that's that difference between Jordan and Lebron to me, Like Jordan
- 30:55is like he's showing you, bro, like he's telling you, Like,
- 30:59Bro, I am I gonna let these dudes. You know what I'm saying.
- 31:02I'm giving them everything I got regardless. Dog. Yeah that's bro.
- 31:07Yeah whatever, No, that's real though that. I mean, people can
- 31:11argue it all day. I will never say either because I feel like they're
- 31:15both great in their own way. I feel like Jordan's willingness to win is
- 31:19unmatched, and then I feel like Lebron's durability is like unheard of. So
- 31:25I feel like, either way you slice it, they're both. They're both
- 31:27great. Jordan's willy kneelingness all day. I don't care. And that's why,
- 31:33like people people send me ship when when like the Lakers lose or when
- 31:38Lebron does bad, or when it's like I don't care how you feel about
- 31:42Lebron. That's the least of my word. And that's the hater thing that
- 31:47Quincy's talking about. It's like I don't broo, yeah, like come on,
- 31:51man. And it's just funny because it's like people are like Lebron had
- 31:56a bad night, and it puts a pep in their step, like they're
- 32:00going to like, you know what I'm saying, like they're terrible days.
- 32:04I'm just glad Lebron and the Lakers lost last night. That's how Yeah,
- 32:08that's that's what's getting you through the day. Yuh all right, that's crazy.
- 32:14Not even not even a Denver fan. I'm glad I had a waffles
- 32:16for breakfast. That's what I'm talking about. But it goes back to kind
- 32:22of like what we're talking about, like when you're great and you're like putting
- 32:24in the work and it's just undeniable, they're just gonna try to find any
- 32:29way to like discount what you're doing. You know what, I'm saying,
- 32:31but at the end of the day, you know what you're doing, you
- 32:34know what you did, you know what you got going on. So they're
- 32:38not the people you gotta convince. You gotta keep reminding yourself you're as good
- 32:43as you know you are, as you think you are, and fuck them.
- 32:49That's a big fact toid. I just I would just remember the waffles
- 32:53that Quincy main Dan that sh that shit bust and uh right, yeah,
- 33:00man, I've been I've been trying to use that since we got it.
- 33:02But it was funny the one time you were like, all right, let's
- 33:05do it. We didn't have any like pancake mix or enough to make like
- 33:07flour to make it from scratching nothing. Yeah, Quincy's real the stuff pancakes.
- 33:15Yeah, stuff chicken and waffles. Bro. That was gas life changing,
- 33:22life changing dog yo. Man. I've been giving my house some TLC
- 33:28that has been needed for like the past month or so. I've just been
- 33:30so busy and like I I remotched everything like around the house right like,
- 33:37but I did it like the official way, like I put the weed and
- 33:40grass killer first, waited a day, peeled everything out, um, took
- 33:46out the heavy duty rake and took out like whatever needed to be taken out
- 33:52and had it ready, bought all the mulch, laid it out, spread
- 33:55it out like dog. It looked so fire. My wife didn't even noticed.
- 34:00Dog hurt, don't do nothing. I was t I was tired.
- 34:10And even when she saw it, she still was like, oh, like
- 34:15you know what I'm saying, like, oh my God, was about to
- 34:17pack that back up in the bags and return them. Hey, but you
- 34:23better notice that new hair due though, yo. Facts. But Dog,
- 34:28I was out there like two you know, I was out there one day
- 34:30for like an hour and then the next day for like two hours. Dog
- 34:34mad work for nothing. I mean, I mean it looks dope, and
- 34:37I'm glad I did it and it needed to be done anyway. Like we
- 34:39said, it sounds yeah, you know, underrated in my own house.
- 34:44Dog really did. I can tell you one of my favorite things when I
- 34:51was home one was maintaining that look that landscape, having the greenest crass.
- 34:57That's prideful brooding. I'm gonna lie, it's so funny that you mentioned the
- 35:02most thing, bro because like I'm I'm really hurt right now because we talked
- 35:07about it earlier, like one of these other episodes about all the work that
- 35:10I did molting around my house. We saw the money I lined ass tiles.
- 35:15Yeah yeah, but now I have the opportunity to remote because that pool
- 35:22ruined everything. Yeah, you don't hurt bad. You gotta redo it.
- 35:28And it was wasn't your fault that sun. Yeah. Man, it's crazy,
- 35:38dog, But definitely, we just gotta keep pushing, man. That's
- 35:43definitely been the theme of the last month for me. Man, Just keep
- 35:46pushing, because yeah, I just noticed what your name says right there.
- 35:50I know I know you tired because you you mentioned two things that we said,
- 35:54and you said one thing you guys didn't say, and you mentioned it
- 35:58as this guy's at over ready. Yeah, man, I've just been but
- 36:04bro, I've been on go man, Like I've really been like super locked
- 36:07in and like every day like there's just so much to do, dog,
- 36:13Like it's just crazy. I've been falling asleep like at nine like the like
- 36:16for like the past two weeks. Bro. Like I'm just exhausted because I
- 36:21literally like don't stop doing nothing until like eight o'clock. You know what I'm
- 36:25saying, Like the only break I have in my day. Dog. Is
- 36:29that called a duty, bro, that'd be the shining light. N No.
- 36:34But that's the one thing we shared in the chat, and that's I'm
- 36:37glad we're understand each other when I know, unless it's not responding chat,
- 36:39I know that motherfucker got a lot of shit going on. I literally told
- 36:45I literally told Robin that. The other day. I was like, because
- 36:47I think she wanted me to mention something. I can't remember what it was,
- 36:51but I was like, he's not in the chat, so I know
- 36:52he having a busy day. Yeah. Yeah, Joe, you had me
- 36:57cracking up because you was like, he slid that in there. A matter
- 37:00of fact, I'm gonna be on there tonight. But yeah, like I
- 37:01was saying, I'm with it too. I got a session tonight, but
- 37:06but it's at ten, so I got time, skis. Yeah, let's
- 37:09get it. Yeah. It's just crazy, dog, because like, whenever
- 37:14there's work, you gotta take it, bro, you know what I mean,
- 37:16Like, because you never know when it's gonna slow down, you know
- 37:21what I'm saying. So like I've just been getting it in and honestly,
- 37:24Bro, like the other thing, the other project I'm doing that I'm still
- 37:28not gonna talk about yet. It's almost time though, but I was up.
- 37:32I was like, yeah, a lot going on, man, Yeah
- 37:35that other thing Like once that's ready, I'm gonna be able to have a
- 37:38little more time like kind of chill out. But dog like, anything that's
- 37:44worthwhile, I's gonna take a lot of work, man Like. That's why
- 37:45a lot of people don't do it, because it's like it's a lot of
- 37:49extra stuff, dog like, And it's sometime like bro, like it's like
- 37:54something that like he really tests your limits, like on every level. Bro,
- 38:00know what I'm saying, Like it's crazy, but like when you get
- 38:01to the end of it, bro, they just be so worth it.
- 38:04Man. Yeah, I'm telling Bert, y'all do a lot more than me
- 38:07throughout the day, and it's crazy. I commend y'all. I'm not gonna
- 38:10say it's an age thing because you're not that much younger, but y'all get
- 38:15a lot done in y'all day more than me. And that's why my weeks
- 38:17are so played out because a lot of times to everything I don't, I
- 38:22don't just I used to have those nice where I could just call on that.
- 38:24But the main thing I know I got to be in bed by nine
- 38:27o'clock because I'm working up at three thirty in the morning every single day.
- 38:30Yeah, I mean, it's it's different for you because, like with your
- 38:36work, it's a lot more tedious, but you're also getting compensated for it,
- 38:40and like the sacrifices you make for it. It just it makes sense,
- 38:44you know what I'm saying. And it's kind of like, you know,
- 38:47you don't really have to do the extra stuff anyway, you know what
- 38:50I'm saying. So it's like, you know, it don't even matter.
- 38:52Yeah, and that's why I appreciate. Like I was working on something this
- 38:57week and person I was helping mouth they told me, like, I know
- 39:00how tedious this is. I don't know how much bullshit it is for you,
- 39:02but we really need and I can do it fast and thank you for
- 39:07your knowledgeing that that's all I need to hear. You know, I shouldn't
- 39:10be doing but I'm good at it and I'm quick at it, and I'll
- 39:14turn it right back around to you and send it right back boom. You
- 39:16got it, And that's it. I rather up today. I even wrapped
- 39:19up a couple of hours earlier. I'm like, yo, honestly, I
- 39:22think I'm done. I hope that's another and they're like, thank you for
- 39:27your time, have a good weekend, boom, and that's it. And
- 39:29that's what I like. I made sure I maintain that. As long as
- 39:34I can't maintain that, that is my job. That is what I grind
- 39:37for to maintain the ability to do shit like that and to have that work
- 39:40life balance. And I reached the point where I hate myself and I hate
- 39:45what I'm doing, and I got to reconsider everything. But you never know,
- 39:50Like I said, I learned that this week that you never know.
- 39:54Yeah, one day you just wake up bingo bango bongo all of a sudden,
- 39:58you know, bingo bang angle bungles stay. But not a thing m
