  So I share parts of my life, my experiences through all of my videos, my content, but then there's a teaching to it.

  So the first part of each chapter is a vignette.

  But the second part, or tarot cards, what have you, right?

  Then the second part of each chapter is the teaching, the biblical teaching, because now we need to know why

  Those practices are unholy, unbiblical, ungodly.

  What does the Bible have to say about it?

  The true authority, the absolute truth.

  And of course, sharing the gospel and pointing people to Christ, which is everything.

  Really directed at a culture that is, as you said, and what I say all the time, really infected, plagued, etc.

  by the New Age and occult.

  And I tell you, David, this is a very timely book to put out because I argue that everybody will encounter the New Age or the occult occult.

  from your local Barnes and Noble, your CVS, your home, the movies, the social media, the music.

  So church, the body of Christ needs to know when they leave that that building, the congregations need to know what they're looking at and what their children are consuming as well.

  So I really want to target that.

  And I have done that, I believe, successfully in this book because it's all by God, of course.

  Darkness in disguise, that means there are counterfeits.

  That means there is deception.

  That means the enemy is shrewd, and he will try to seduce even Christians.

  So let's go right to the church, Jen, because Christian families are not immune to this.

  It's all over.

  the place all over our culture and it has crept into the church i mean it started maybe way before even harry potter and twilight and all that and then people think this astrology or uh what do you call when you um uh not not psychics but when you go and get your um your look for your signs and what are your horoscopes uh

  horoscopes and tarot cards.

  People think maybe there's just light innocence to that.

  It's not real.
• 6:14
  But you were really into this, and you know it's very real.

  I know you've done this before.

  Forgive me for being redundant and asking this, but warn Christian parents and grandparents that this is a serious thing that kids get sucked into, maybe because they don't think there's a danger to it.

  Yeah, so just like you said, darkness in disguise because Satan masquerades as an angel of light.

  So what you may think is entertainment, you've got it on Facebook.

  Astrology, exactly what you're mentioning.

  We're hearing Christians say, what's your sign?

  Referring to zodiac signs.

  The apps that the teenagers are on, David, Snapchat, which I don't use, but...

  Years ago, I went on there and it asked me for something, for recording.

  What's your birthday?

  And of course, I said, why do you need to know my birthday?

  Well, once I put it in, you're a Capricorn.

  This is what is being planted.

  These are the seeds being planted into the minds of the youth.

  And that is divination, plain and simple.

  And that is demonic dressing up.

  as something entertaining, whether it's the horoscope, et cetera.

  So when you see these things that will look innocent, look fun, you mentioned the movies, witchcraft, people in the church,

  are taking their children to see Wicked.

  I mean, or were, I should say.

  Now, of course, it's streaming.

  But then we have Hex coming out.

  Disney will not stop.

  It's a repeat offender.

  They just changed the narrative a little bit.

  The witch in this story seems to be not doing anything bad, of course.

  So then it's okay.

  Well, it's not.

  And people, parents,

  grandparents really need to know I went through that for 25 years of my life.

  I was in the darkness, but it didn't look dark to me.

  And I believed I was helping people.

  And I would do readings sitting with you just like this.

  There was no pentagram drawn on my face.

  There was no Ouija board sitting behind me.

  I sat with you in a living room with a candle and I was the girl

  people, Christians and unbelievers, of course.

  Okay, Jen, so you mentioned Disney.

  But let's talk about Disney because I'm looking at Chapter 1, The Spell is Cast.

  Well, didn't Disney, I'm sure maybe it started before Disney,

  You know, maybe before the 50s or whatever.

  But didn't they make it that to be something like of a fairy tale or innocence or there's always a good witch and a bad witch?

  And you know what I mean?

  The Magic Kingdom.

  Talk to us a little bit about that.

  Bring us back to the reality of it might look innocent, but there's something dark underneath the surface.

  Yeah, and I was watching those movies when I was a child.

  And I always say that's where these demonic doors were open, right?

  Because I'm watching witchcraft as a child.

  So then you would have sometimes this contrast, if you will, of the bad witch.

  But then there are these fairies that are doing magic.

  And that must be great.

  And they're wearing pretty dresses.

  And they're like this, the furry godmother and everything.

  And, of course, wishing upon a star and...

  you know, Disney whole theme.

  And then of course, when, you know, thinking about even Mickey and Minnie, Mickey and Minnie doing, or Mickey Mouse doing, I think it was a tale of witches, don't quote me on it, but I just saw it recently because I made it real about the new movie, which is terrifying, Ebenezer, which is of course about a Christmas Carol.

  And Mickey and Minnie did a Christmas Carol too.

  And I was like, wait a minute.

  Christmas Carol, oh, it's just this innocent Christmas movie.

  No, it's necromancy for heaven's sakes.

  I can't believe, really, I just had this revelation because of this new movie coming out with Johnny Depp, Ebenezer, which is presenting as completely horrifying.

  And,

  I remember I loved the cartoon version with Mickey and Minnie.

  So Disney will present these things over and over and over again in any way they can, because they are not operating, of course, you know, under the Holy Spirit.

  And I'm not saying, of course, that we don't live in the world and that we just live in this.

  You know, we don't we we don't live in a Christian world, do we?

  We live in a world that's run by Satan.

  I get that.

  But we need to know.

  what these things are.

  We need to be aware as Christians to guard our children and not put those ideas of which God condemns into their minds and hearts, offering them powers that they can't have, but demons do.

  And one of the things in your description over on the Amazon page, that the book helps you, Christian parent, discern what's truly from God in a culture saturated with spiritual counterfeits.

  Let's go back to the chapters, Jen.

  I know Getting Hooked, chapter 2, that was probably a little bit part of your story, getting hooked into all this.

  And you can speak to that if you'd like, but I want to jump to chapter 3, because Seeking Good Fortunes...

  I mean, that talk about a lure that can lead you in so many different directions.

  Just you're seeking fortune.
• 11:48
  Tell us what that's about briefly.
• 11:51
  Well, when you're seeking, you know, fortune telling really is even with tarot cards predicting the future.

  And the idea is that even today with witchcraft, as long as your intentions are good, you're not doing anything bad.

  And we know that is just not the truth.
• 12:09
  So my intention was never to hurt anybody.
• 12:13
  I wanted to know things.
• 12:14
  I wanted to know once I got a taste of it, I wanted to know more.

  And anytime something happens in my life, I'm going to be a little bit more.

  I wanted to know that things were going to be okay.

  I was seeking wisdom.
• 12:25
  I was seeking hope.
• 12:27
  I was seeking all the things that only Jesus can offer.

  But like you said before, as a young person, certainly as an unbeliever, I had no discernment to distinguish between the real source

  of those things versus the counterfeit.

  That is exactly the point.

  Children don't have that development.
• 12:53
  They don't have that discernment developed.
• 12:56
  Even in a Christian household, they just don't.
• 12:59
  That's why parents are given such a huge responsibility to guard everything that their children watch, who they spend time with, what are they looking at.

  So, I mean, I say this all the time, David.

  I mean, kids are in the bookstores.
• 13:14
  You're giving them a $50 bill.

  I always make a joke these days.

  Back then it used to be probably $20.

  It's probably a $100 bill now, even to go into CBS.

  But Five Below, they're going into these places and they're going to see witchcraft.

  And you do not know all the things that are going on in your children's hearts.

  Only God does.

  Yes.

  They could be going through a season where they don't want to share something that's very vulnerable.

  And that's where the enemy, we know he's prowling around.

  And now they go to the carnival.

  They just had a breakup with Jimmy.

  They're in ninth grade.
• 13:48
  They don't want to talk about it, but they see the tarot card reader.

  Will Jimmy come back to me?

  What's going to happen?
• 13:56
  And that is where the enemy will get them.
• 13:58
  So they need to know right out of the gate, never go to the tarot card reader.

  It's not just entertainment.

  They are communicating with evil.

  Stay far away.

  And now you don't even necessarily have to go physically to a fortune teller, tarot card reader.

  We have the machines.
• 14:20
  We have the phones.

  So kids have to or parents have to be just as concerned about what kids are downloading, watching, listening to, who they're following.

  And unfortunately, it's hard for harder for parents these days who your kids friends are.

  Oh my goodness, Jen, there's so much as a Christian parent to try to guard your son or daughter.

  But one of the things that it says in the notes about as you journey through darkness and disguise, your new book, it will help you identify counterfeit peace versus true peace in Christ.

  You mentioned counterfeits several times already.

  Can you give us an example or two maybe of what counterfeit peace would be?

  How does the world sell that?
• 15:05
  Yeah, when you believe the lie and you get a feeling from it and that feeling only lasts for an hour, I'll give you an example.

  It's a psychic medium reading, okay?

  And you just mentioned a great point too.

  I mean, these readings are a click away on TikTok.

  They're a click away on YouTube, right?

  So you're in this state, whatever, you just have to take that click, you know, do that click and come into one of these live readings.

  And you are...

  you know, thinking you're believing the lie that you're communicating with the dead.

  You're believing the lie that there's nothing wrong with getting the tarot card reading.

  So they tell you something that makes you maybe feel better for a little while.

  But because it's rooted in lies,

  because it's coming from demons, it is not a peace that can surpass all understanding.

  That only comes from Jesus.

  It is not a peace that can last.

  It is not a peace that will fulfill you.

  It'll only last that 15 minutes, that one hour.

  It's coming from devils.

  And devils do not care about man, and they do not...in fact, they hate man.

  And they hate God.

  And they just want to keep you on a hamster wheel because you're going to need to get that fix again because it doesn't last.

  It's counterfeit.

  Yeah, and the world will sell you something that's extremely temporary, but might sound good, might feel good just for a short time.

  Oh, you can be at peace, even modern forms of meditation.

  And we can talk about that another time, but I'm thinking yoga and Hinduism and Buddhism and all the things you can do for peace, but it's not true peace.

  It's only found in Christ, because you talk about returning to the unchanging authority of,

  of Scripture.

  If your authority is in Scripture, then we better be rooted and grounded in the truth so we can discern and detect a counterfeit.

  This was over at Decision Magazine, and it's all over.

  It's not just in high schools, not just in movies and social media.

  It's in the curriculum on college campuses.

  This article says witchcraft courses populate across U.S. campuses.

  For one example, Arizona State University, they outnumber Christianity 8 to 1.

  So, Jan, you've warned about this.

  And go ahead.

  I know you did a recent video on mentioning warning about Harvard and what they're doing.

  Go ahead and just share your thoughts on witchcraft and how kids are getting this, and you can take courses on it.

  Yeah, this was this was so shocking to me.

  Harvard University having an online divination course that I am, of course, stating in this reel that you can pay $99 and even get a certification as though now you have some sort of credibility because you've done your education in this demonic horror.

  And, you know, I tend to think to myself because how the enemy works is he desensitizes.

  So the more he puts things out there, gets you used to them, then he ups

  the anti a little bit, right?

  So that's my whole point, even with the movies and everything else as well.

  He's making things seem normative, putting it in a school makes it seem credible, makes it seem okay.

  And especially with the professors who are teaching these things, astrophysicists, et cetera.

  That was the one I believe with Harvard.

  Was yoga one of the stepping stones the enemy used?

  Because yoga courses have been in colleges for quite some time now in schools.

  So he's just getting you used to one demonic practice to introduce the next demonic practice.

  And as we know, David, which is very heartbreaking, God has been pushed out.

  You know, these these religions and these, you know, these false religions and doctrines and demons.

  And I loved in that article that you shared that the secular world we see, it's not neutral.

  It leans or the demons have a hold on them and will push it out in any way that they can.

  And you talk about why sincerity does not equal spiritual truth, because you can be sincerely wrong.

  You can, as you mentioned earlier, you didn't go in it with bad intentions.

  Talk to us a little bit more about how Christians, they're sincere, but boy, we better be on track with our authority as the Word of God and be discerning.

  Yeah, you can mean well, you can love, you can be a compassionate person.

  That's all the things that I was.

  And I really believed I was helping these people.

  I was completely sincere in wanting to help these people.

  And I was completely and sincerely deceived.

  So, you know, I so you have to be so careful.

  You have to constantly have discernment and test every spirit.

  First John four one says to test the spirits.

  There's a reason for that, because there are demonic spirits looming out there.

  pushing these doctrines of demons out.

  So regardless of what something looks like, regardless of your intention, you need to bring it to the word of God, the practice, the ideology, the concept, the college class, the thing you see in the movies and the people that are singing the songs, Taylor Swift.

  So you really need to be discerning and constantly go back and test everything against the word of God.

  I've interviewed a lot of people, and her name comes up every now and then because she is into some really dark stuff, including witchcraft and other things.

  She's, of course, pro-abortion and everything, pro-death, everything else, LGBTQ.

  And Christian sons and daughters of this podcast might be listening or watching her stuff.

  The universe loves you.

  These are normalized and celebrated.

  But Jen Niza comes in and throws a big rock into that pond of nope.

  It's not even my truth because there's no such thing.

  There is absolute truth, and that's the word of God.

  And you have to put that rock of nope in there.

  You know, you have these churches that it's kind of like, hey, if I just change the words a little bit, if I have a Bible, if I have a pulpit, then I can take these New Age books

  ideas and make them and make them work, make them okay.

  And remember, I talk about this in the book too.

  Success doesn't mean something is of God.

  So when something works, it doesn't mean it's of God.

  So we have to be so careful because we're seeing these practices in the church and that's right.

  I mean, if we make a decision based on our own hearts, then what are we doing?

  We're stepping outside of obedience to Christ because we want to follow his will, right?

  for our life, which really has nothing to do with our feelings.

  He's there for us in our feelings.

  He's the Alpha and the Omega.

  He knows all things.

  He already knows the outcome of everything.

  And we have to trust in who he is and who we are to him.

  The Lord says that he's a good plan and purpose for our life, that he works all things together for good.

  So that enables me to sit back and obey those commands of trusting in him, not worrying, not being afraid,

  Because he's got everything.

  He's got the control, not us.

  So don't ever follow your heart.

  Follow the word of God.

  Go to God in prayer and follow the discernment that the Holy Spirit gives you.

  But first, you need to come to him and be saved and put your faith and trust in Lord Jesus in order to be indwelt with the Holy Spirit who will give you that leading direction.

  And surrender that heart to the Lord, and then he will speak to you.

  The Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth.
