- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hey everybody, it's Connor McIver here with Santa Clarita Artificial Intelligence.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: There's been some changes I want to talk about with regard to Google Maps and Google search, which I think is going to be incredibly helpful for you if you happen to be a local business owner.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: And if you own a local business, you know how important Google is.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: By the way, Google ranks local businesses, it's going to be going through a massive AI-powered shift.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: And here's what you need to know.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: So this change is going to create huge winners and leave a lot of unprepared businesses wondering why their phones stop ringing or people started coming by.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: So I'm going to explain exactly what's happening and how you can get ahead of it.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: And in addition, understand the process.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: So the change is a new artificial intelligence that's going to be integrated into Google Maps.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: It's going to be nicknamed Local Pulse.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Its job is to find the most active, trusted, and relevant businesses in real time.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: And to do that, it looks at two key areas.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: First, it's going to look at your business Google business profile.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: It's no longer just a listing, it's going to be a live feed.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: The AI is looking for recent photos, new posts also about your services.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: So here's one of the big points of neglect I see.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: People have a Google My Business page.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: There's ways to SEO modify it and AEO modify it, which is answer engine optimization.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: So AI, AI is not like Google in the way that it looks for data, looks for information.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: It's more conversational because it's a large language model.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: It's built, it it likes more of a conversational approach.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: So when you're building content, even putting together particular local certificates or certifications for your businesses on these different websites, all though all the information that you plug in, even the bio, even the description, should somewhat carry a more conversational tone.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: So when people are going to their large language model of choice, and and this is a big change.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: It used to be that people would go to Google, of course, and search.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: When Google first came out, it wasn't monetized in the way that you had all those ads popping up, all those sponsored spaces.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: So right now, if you weren't really paying attention back then or not really into it back then, maybe you were too young or whatever it may be.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: But now when you do a search using a large language model and you're do doing an inquiry, you notice there's no ads.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: It's just pulling in data.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Now, if some of those businesses are somehow able to be liked more by the LLM, that's one thing, and that's a whole nother explanation potentially.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: But at least right now you're not seeing any kind of sponsored ads.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: And that's this is gonna, this is the calm before the storm.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: I'm sure all of those systems are gonna be building out and they'll be paid for placement and all the different uh the different search engines or excuse me, the different artificial intelligence, large language models.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: So your GROK will probably be showing sponsored content, ChatGPT, well by OpenAI, of course, you know, Anthropic and all of the other ones as well.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Google is the one to really watch.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: It's it's it appears to be somewhat of a sleeper, but they're the ones that came up with the the architecture that allows the uh AI to actually work really well.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: It was just taken and really built out by another company.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: But that being said, they have a lot of data.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: They have a lot of search data, they have a lot of your data, a lot of people's data looking for businesses.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: So when they make these changes and they have a free service, which is Google My Business, it's important to be there and then have that system built correctly for your business.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: So if you're a real estate agent, you need to have it put together one way.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: If you're a plumber or a kitchen remodeler or an electrician or a beautician or a mobile car, uh car detailer, these are all different aspects or different businesses that have to have the Google My Business profile built out correctly.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: But with this change, we're gonna see something different.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: So looking at this, if if you're not updating that Google Business Profile, I have a system that does that.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: It's a hands-off system, so you don't have to worry about it.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: And the Google Business Profile updates are interesting because they don't want any shady kind of entries.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Not that you would do that.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: By shady, though, they're gonna look at a violation of terms of service by self-promotion.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: They want factual information in there, they want you to be providing answers to questions without uh doing it in such a way where you're trying to pitch your business.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: And that's realistically probably one of the best ways to produce content on any particular level.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: If you're talking about you owning a car detailing uh business, for example, a mobile car detailing business, you can talk about potentially maybe saving the environment, saving water because maybe you reclaim or recycle.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: But you can also talk about some of the tips and tricks when it comes to people wanting to wash their cars themselves.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: People, trust me, they're not gonna start, they're not gonna do that, not gonna put you out of business.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Same reason when I'm talking to people about AI or social media or talking about the best ways to import that into their business and do it the right way.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: I'm not concerned about them going and doing it, doing it themselves.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Some will, but very few will.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: A lot of people will hire me at Santa Clarita Artificial Intelligence, but put the system together just like this one because realistically you don't have to touch it.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: There's nothing you have to do, you don't have to pay attention.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: It just automatically aggregates the content and gets it out there in the correct way.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: And this is gonna be most important on your Google business profile because of these changes that are happening.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: So, having said that, so this listing, it's gonna be sitting there, it's gonna be considered more of a live feed.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: So the AI is gonna be looking for recent photos, new posts about your services, and of course how quickly you respond to reviews.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: So that's an automation sequence that I can put in as well with artificial intelligence.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: So if somebody fires in a review and boom, they get hit back with a response that's AI generated, and that AI bot is built around how you would answer something, how you would talk to people.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: So in essence, it's you, but basically being done by an artificial intelligence system that I put together.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: And the the speed on that response is super important.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: And of course, if it's not constantly updated, the AI assumes you're not very active.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: So if you have one business that has these AI automations put in place, then they're gonna be at the very top of the list when people are looking for that business in that particular neighborhood, and especially with this Google Map update.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: But second, here's what most people are gonna miss.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: It looks for trust around the entire internet.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: So the AI scans dozens of sites, Yelp yellow pages, industry directories, and other and other places to verify your information.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: So if it finds an old address here, wrong phone number there, that creates digital confusion, and it's not like all green lights towards your business.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: A business that has all of those things updated, all of those things perfect across all those systems is actually going to be better placed when Google starts to look.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: And that confusion, that digital confusion does kill trust, and then your ranking comes down.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: So here's what you do.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Now, keeping that Google profile fresh with content can be a challenge.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Great way is to get an edge by using AI to help you create it.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: Now, a powerful non-competing tool for this, an AI image generator, you could use Mid-Journey for images.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: Uh, one of the best ones by Google now is Nano Banana.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: You can see that on their uh the Google Gemini product.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: It's just, it's just lovely, it's wonderful.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: And this one takes real images of you and then modifies those to your heart's content.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: And I did a blog post at Santa Clarita Artificial Intelligence.com forward slash blog, or if you just go there, you'll see the blog link at the top.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: But I titled it, you'll it's a big picture of a banana.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: But what I was confused about or didn't understand completely, so this is an entire learning process every single day.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: AI is moving so quickly.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: I'm immersed in the real in the data, real estate, in the data for AI, I'm a realtor, and the data for AI, so I can you know understand where it's going, what's happening.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: So ultimately, nano banana was one of those things that I wanted to use, but I didn't understand the different image descriptions.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: You know, what does what would um uh maybe looking a three, what would a 3D image, what would a gradient image look like, what would, and then all these different image descriptions, you know, and then it came up with other ideas like making a 1950s postcard, which is awesome.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: So then it kind of dates it, but it can take my image and insert it into a 1950s postcard in suburbia America, or it could put me, you know, in Russia, the 1950s, you know, wearing the appropriate attire.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: But that's where it's totally different, and you know, it's a free system to use, at least up to some point.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: I happen to have the$20 a month plan, so it works out.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: But these are little things that you can do, and you can create these images and then use them on the Google My Business Update, and then if you have an AI system in place like I offer, you can use that system to also update this.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: So, anyway, those are those are very good resources to use.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: And here's here's let's put our imagination to work real quick.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: So imagine you're a local bakery, and instead of hiring a photographer, you can take a simple prime like make a photo of a delicious croissant on a rustic table.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: The AI creates that stunning, unique image for you and your post, and you can even have yourself placed in the image and then have it have you sitting at a table drinking a cup of coffee eating this delicious croissant.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Now, of course, if the croissant that it is picturing looks nothing like the croissant you're selling at the local bakery, problem.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: So I would just take a photo of the croissant or pastry or whatever you happen to sell at the local bakery, and then have the that system actually put it all together in the way that you want it put together, so you're not misleading.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: And in real estate, I do the real estate thing as well.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: In real estate, that's going to become a concept that's probably gonna have some kind of an enforcement mechanism attached to it.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: So real estate agents that are out shooting pictures, and you've seen them, you've seen some of these, and it really just chaps my hide, but you'll see them take pictures of a property using a particular lens attachment or some kind of AI-infused software that will take an image and expand and morph it to make the house look more presentable and more attracted.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: So when you get there with me, when I get there with my clients, it's like, oh, I'm so embarrassed because the house itself, we were really relying on the pictures, and of course, square footage, bedroom, bathroom, and all that.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: But when you do rely on the pictures as to get an idea whether or not you want to go see it, and then when you walk in, you can see that everything's been morphed and the fisheye lens or whatever other uh software was used to modify those images.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Just it just it's so different than what was expected.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: It's a difficult bridge to get across or a wall to climb.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: So realistically, those clients don't like that.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: So you have to watch out for that.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: But when you're putting this together, very simple.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: So there's two major challenges for you.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: You got to keep your Google profile consistently active, make sure your business information is perfectly consistent and verified across the entire web.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: This is the exact problem we solve.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: So when you're ready, reach out to me.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: We can talk about it, I'll explain to you how it works, and then we can look at other components of your business.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: But getting all those listings, there's 75, 76 different places online that you might not even be aware of.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: That's gonna make that alignment correct all across all areas.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: And again, you might have an old address in one of these things, and it's not the fault of that system, it's just maybe it hasn't pulled new content from wherever it is your business happens to be online.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: But there's scores given, so you can actually see whether getting this service is gonna work out for you monetarily by just having me do an audit.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: Those are free.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Just hit me up.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: You can hit me up at Santa Clarita Artificial Intelligence.com, book an appointment with me, and then we can do an audit of your business.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: But this is the big change that's happening, so you definitely, you know, you DIYers out there really want to make sure your Google My Business listing is perfectly filled out.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: You can ask Chat GP GPT or the other ones to get an idea on the best ways to do that.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: It's kind of cool to be able to ask AI these questions without seeing all the uh all the ads.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: But again, mark my words.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: This is that uh calm before the advertising and marketing storm.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: Once they figure out how they're best going to be able to monetize those systems, and maybe it's gonna be like YouTube, you pay for a particular subscription, you don't see the ads, but a lot of people don't actually pay for that system, believe it or not.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm always watching YouTube for updates about artificial intelligence and other things.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: So I have the subscriptions, so I don't see those ads because I just can't imagine what it would be like.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: But again, we go to Google, we do our search on Google if you're still using that platform, and you know that most of the ones at the top are sponsored.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: If you're blessed and you have your SEO dialed in correctly, you can look at the real estate systems out there.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: It's hard to beat out Zillow, it's hard to beat out Redfin.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: I'm able to do it, but it takes a lot of work.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: And through the AI automation systems, it does help that because I'm able to have the systems do things, produce content as if I would produce them because I've given them all the instructions and the system knows exactly what it's doing.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: Of course, there's still that vetting process, so I make sure it didn't spit out or regurgitate some junk that's gonna, some AI slop that's gonna get me into trouble.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: So you also have to verify that.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: But anyway, I'm Connor with Honor.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: Thank you for watching.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: I hope you have a fantastic week.

- 14:05SPEAKER_00: We can book something together and I'll walk you through whatever process you're looking to improve in your business.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: I am that AI growth architect you want to hire.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: I'm Connor with Honor.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: We'll see you in the next one.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: Take care.
