- Bald Enough to Say It: Thanks for hanging out with us on Bald Enough to Say where we talk sports, culture, and whatever random rabbit hole we go into next. ⁓ if you're enjoying the ride, hit follow, leave a review, and come back next week where we have plenty more opinions ⁓ and no shortage of things to talk about. Barry: All right, but here's my thing, and I don't want to like generalize or talk talk crap, but like if you like Shaun just said, like, if you're gonna go with it, go in with intentions to like really try and do it, then be honest with people, bro. Like, dude sincere, like his name is not a good label for who he has shown to be on the show. I I don't know, dude. Is like personally, I hope he's a cool dude. He seemed pretty cool. Shaun: do it. Jen: Same as against the Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. They were wishful thinking on that one. Yeah. Barry: Before he started playing with these girls' emotions, bro. But he's out here telling both these No, that was Sean He seemed like a cool dude, man. He did seem like a cool dude. But no b he just couldn't get connections, man. But yo, so like like dude sitting there telling girls like, yo, you're the one I want like he's telling two separate chicks literally the same thing and not like and so one girl, Sol, she went off when 'cause they had he had a chance to recouple. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Is Sincere the Cop? Jen: No, Barry: What's up, y'all? If you like what you've heard and seen so far, don't forget to like us and subscribe. Hit that button ⁓ on whatever you're listening or watching on. Also, don't forget to follow us on those socials @ Bald EnoughToSay It on Instagram, ⁓ X, and Facebook. Appreciate y'all. Peace. Jen: He did seem like a cool dude and he was the first one to go. I felt so bad. Shaun: ⁓ he's gone? Dang. Jen: Multiple people, yeah. Mm-hmm. Barry: He went back to his original chick. I think his name is was it Melanie Melody Melanie. And they had a whole bunch of drama when this chick came on as a bombshell. But yo, he was playing both of them so hard, bro. I felt bad for both of them. Cause then Melanie started getting like psycho like Jen: Melanie, Melanie. Mm-hmm. Shaun: I mean, what's the line though? Jen: I mean, yeah, I don't f I didn't feel bad for Melanie. Like I mm. Barry: No, I did not either. Cause she was yo, she was jumping up and down when this dude walked in, like right in front of her dude Sincere I'm like, I mean, what did you think he was gonna do? Were you think he was gonna be cool with it? ⁓ dude, the paint, yes. She and she kept going back and forth between the dude next to her and making out with bro. Yes. Like they were blindfolded and they were supposed to pick their dude out of Jen: Yes. Mm-hmm. And in the bed kissing one, the bed kissing one where she knew that was sincere and then she still went to kiss more people. Yeah. Like you know that that was him. Mm-hmm. And you still chose to keep making out with other people. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mm. Barry: All the dudes, and of course they go down each dude and make out hardcore, hardcore, hardcore. And then she got to her dude, knew it was him, 'cause his hair was the only dude with long hair. And kept making out the extra dude. Like she went back four times, and I don't even think I'm exaggerating in that, like four or five times she went back and forth, bro. Shaun: Disgusting Jen: Mm-hmm. And I think she even made a comment like she knew that that was him, but still kept going. Yeah. Yeah. And yeah. Barry: And then another dude walked in as a bombshell and she was like jumping and yelling like, ⁓ my gosh, bro. And I'm like, and dude just sitting there like but then he went and got with the the the ⁓ bombshell chick, but he was playing both of them too. So I'm just like if you were just be real, just be honest. Like I know it's not hard or it's not easy to tell somebody, hey, I'm I am feeling you, but I'm also feeling this other person, so I'm gonna try and explore those, you know, they they say explore their connections or whatever. Shaun: You Jen: Yeah. Doing too much. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Explorable. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-mm. Shaun: I mean, what's the line between playing the game and actually trying to find love? Because if we're real, a lot of them are trying to get into the fame or trying to or even money. Barry: Bruh. I d I mean 'Cause if you you the last couple, you win money. It there's an it's financial incentive to be the last couple. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yes. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And usually the deals that you get are better. Shaun: Okay, so are there stipulations that go along with that money? Yeah. So is there like a stipulation that they have to be together for a certain amount of time for them to get the money? Jen: ⁓ okay, so but yes, you could. That honestly, that kind of happened. That's kind of what happened last season is the couple that ended up winning were like before the f the finale. But because people loved the girl, Amaya, she was just really popular. I Barry: No, you could be you could get coupled up right before the last episode. Well, I don't know how they like the st Shaun: I think you win and you're good. Barry: ⁓ yeah, th they did get coupled up like two or three episodes before the end or something real quick. Yeah. I don't get I didn't get that. Yo, she was cray. Shaun: Hmm. Jen: And I think it showed 'cause they like were broken up two seconds later and like just all the crazy things that have been happening. ⁓ yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Aren't they all? Barry: But she's but she's got like like ⁓ endorsements. Like she's now doing like commercials on this season for like all kinds of products. Shaun: Well yeah, I that makes sense. Like I feel like that's what they're really there for is they're there to get the money, to get the endorsements, to get the sponsorships, to do like all of that different thing, like all of that different stuff. So they can kick off their careers. Like they're not really there to find love. Yeah, do you? Yeah. Barry: Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Uh-huh. Bo. Barry: And more power to them for sure, but bruh, I just I couldn't do it, man, with all the the videotaping and it's crazy, bro. Jen: Yeah. Yeah, I mean get your bag. Get your bag. I just couldn't do it with the people trying to stick literally their entire tongue down my throat. Absolutely not. Yeah, it's not even cute, tasteful tongue. It's like like I can't. It's disgusting. Barry: Lots of tongues in your mouth, bro. Lots of tongues. And it's like it's like hardcore porno tongue too. It ain't even like tasteful. Nah, bro. It's like open mouth, like as big as you can open your mouth and just go. Jen: Like who was it in one of the very early episodes, like episode three or something? They were laying in bed and they were just doing this with their tongues. Like, what is what are you doing? You met this person like, ⁓ you know, never mind. Don't judge. Be curious. I'm very curious on your thought process. Barry: Go hard, bro. Jen: They were laying in bed and they were just this with their tongues. Barry: ⁓ yeah, ⁓ yeah, this is true. They do a lot of that. But like Shaun said, bro, that's the game, that's what they signed up for. I feel like they go into it. That's right. I'm I am very curious about why you w no, I think it is to Shaun's point. You do it 'cause you're trying to trying to start your career probably for most of So you know you do what you gotta do. Shaun: Hey. Yeah, don't judge, be curious. Get into it. Jen: Okay. Play the game. Yeah. Yeah. And they do know that the wild it does tend to be, Shaun, with past seasons, that the ones that make the most commotion and have the most like shock value ⁓ tend do better with like endorsements and things like that afterwards. So Shaun: Yeah. ⁓ well yeah. That's like the, that's like back in the day with like real world and road rules and like all of that other kind of stuff. Like, yeah, like if you were the wild person that were like, those like really out there and like seeing that you can get along with everybody or maybe you didn't get along with everybody and you had like all of these different little spats and battles. Like those are the ones that, yeah, those ones that people like kind of gravitate toward. Barry: ⁓ yeah. Jen: I loved those, yes. Barry: ⁓ yeah, bro. Yeah. Those shows were cool. Yeah. Jen: Uh-huh. Yeah. Barry: Yeah. You were the person that people remembered. Well, and that's the thing now with ⁓ Love Island, bro, is their America starts to vote at some point on who their favorite couples are. And so like and they changed the ⁓ they just changed the rules arbitrarily too. That's the funny thing too. There's not like stuck in like, ⁓ I can count on this rule, I know how to play this game. They just be like, ⁓ no, we're just sending four people home tonight. Go ahead and pick ⁓ Deuce. Like crazy just Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Listen on. Shaun: Mmm. Jen: And sometimes they get Yeah, all the time. ⁓ Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shaun: ⁓ Barry: So this is I have beef with the one I just watched and this is ahead I don't this is ahead of you, Jen. And it my beef is with the females, bro. So in the the last episode that I watched, it was the first Americas vote. There were four couples that were safe, top four were safe, and there were three couples who were up for elimination. So they separate the boys and the girls from the three possibly eliminated couples. And the boys chose the one girl out of the three that got sent home. Jen: Yeah, I think you're right. I mean. Mm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: And the girls chose the boy. Well, in the little challenge leading up to this, they could write love letters to the person that they wanted to couple up with and they shove it in a mailbox. So if you shove your letter in the person's mailbox who wrote you the letter, y'all match up and y'all are safe. Well, these two peop speaking of Sincere bro flip back went to crazy girl Melody. Melanie. Jen: Mm. Melanie. Barry: And left Sol, high and dry. Well, she got paired up with ⁓ the one dude who Melody was going crazy with when he walked in, big old country white boy. So those two were the obvious people to send home because everybody else was coupled, and everybody else selected who they wanted to be coupled up with, and they chose the wrong person and then tried to justify it, bro. The dudes got all mad and were like, Why would you send this dude home? He was in a couple, and I'm thinking the same thing logically. Jen: I thought. Barry: He's already paired up. Why are you gonna break him up with some chick? Got real mad. And this is stupid, cause it's such a dumb show. But I got heated about it, bro. I'm in here telling Becca, like, this is why chicks be out here getting like emotional, like getting understand why dudes be getting upset. Cause that logically, why wouldn't you do that? Why? Jen? Any any insight into why these chicks would do the the obviously wrong choice? Jen: Yeah. I mean there's usually one one or two of those upsets. Shaun: I really passionate about it though, very. Jen: There's probably something else happening. I there was there's always Because there's always there's always a reason why. And it's usually like back what did they say? Yeah. Barry: You wanna hear their reason, which is the stupidest shit ever? Sorry. So their justification was well Gabe, the dude the Brazilian dude who speaks Portuguese. ⁓ we call him Sebastian. D you ever see that movie with ⁓ Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson? I forget what it's called. Marry Me. So heard Jennifer Lopez's original boyfriend, he was some Jen: Who'd they send home? Okay. Yes. Okay. Okay. That's really funny. ⁓ the y yes, okay. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Barry: Spanish singer and his name was Sebastian. So we call any, I guess, like Latin dude who kind of talked like that. But he did look like that actor too. Anyways, real, real random tangent. But they sent this dude home, but he had paired up with another chick, right? And she was a bombshell. Well, she picked him when they came in, and him getting picked by her sent this other chick home. And the girls were like, Well, he just moved on so quick. Jen: Call in that. Interesting. Mm-hmm. Barry: That's the name of the game. You move on when somebody goes home. What is he supposed to do? Sit there and be butthurt about his girl who he had known for three days goes home? What are we talking about? Logically that is dumb. Like Shaun: was he supposed to do? Jen: Hi. don't think it was that was the actual reason. I think it was because he was hopping way too much. And he was. ⁓ but ⁓ no, no, no, no, no. And here I'm gonna break it down for you right now, Barry. Lock in. Okay. He ⁓ was with Beatriz ⁓ Beatriz. ⁓ dare you? No. ⁓ he was with her first. Barry: That's what they said. He had two relationships. Melody had had three. He was with ⁓ Beatriz, whatever however they say it. Beatriz, excuse me. I don't mean any disrespect. yes. Jen: But as he's in like this couple thing with her, every single girl that came in, he was like kissing outside of challenges. Every single one of them. First conversation I've ever had with you in my entire life. Can I make out with you right now? Every single one of them. And just hopping around. And you can't, the name of the game is you have to find balance. You cannot be too hoppy or they will kick you out. And that's exactly what happened with him. Barry: Yeah. Okay. Shaun: So what's the difference between him hopping around? Yeah. Barry: But we're literally watching them do that shit on a daily basis in competitions. Jen: Yes, but you get those options and challenges to go and make out with everybody. But if you do it outside of a challenge, that's a big like no no. Don't do it outside of a challenge. Yes. It's it's just a big, it's a big like love island sign that they're not locked in. Shaun: So it's okay if you're told to do it, but you can't do it on your own, like fruition. That's ridiculous. Barry: That's silly. That is silly. Again, no logic in that. Because it doesn't matter what the reason is. You're making out with completely 10 different people. But you're not forced to. You could sit there and peck somebody, be like, yo, I got my man or I got my girl. So it's not a forceful, it's always a choice. It's always a choice, Jen. Life's all about choices. You know this. Shaun knows this. We all know this. Jen: Yeah, but if you're forced to, then that's that's the gray area for Love Island is Yes. Yes. But Barry, it doesn't make logical sense. 90% of the things that happened on Love Island don't make a logical sense, Barry. Lives and pop choices. Listen, it isn't. Love Island is a whole different world. Shaun: That's true. I mean, apparently it's not on Love Island, though. I mean, if you sign up for the show and you decide that you want to go. Barry: No, the thing is is the thing is, and this is my ball take, women are too emotional and they let that shit cloud their judgment and they got emotional and let dude no. Shaun: ⁓ can't even repeat what you just said. Almost said I can't even get the words out. Jen: You tryna you tryna fight now. You trying to fight. No, I can tell you When while women do have are a little more more in touch with their emotional side. And they can don't think that's a woman trait. I think that's a human trait. So I'm gonna need you to reel that statement back in there, Barry. Because have you seen how men act when they get upset? Because I've seen many a man get upset. Shaun just said he was gonna break a laptop because it wasn't working. ⁓ That ⁓ Barry: ⁓ we just shut down. Well no, that's not me. I don't get mad. I just shut down. I just go quiet, bro. I just go quiet. That's that's my sign of anger. Jen: Okay, okay. It's a human trait, not a woman trait. Thank you very much. And I can tell you they voted him off because he was just a little nasty, too much of a horned dog for them for their vibes. Yes, exactly. But if you are making other people who are also being nasty on this show feel nasty, they're gonna vote you out. That it has to be a balance. I'm just giving you the logic behind their love island decisions. Shaun: you And why did I get drunk into this? Barry: Bro, all these people are nasty. What are we that's again, that's my whole point. That's the name of the game. While all these people who No, you're giving me the emotional response behind Jen: No. ⁓ see, you think it's emotional. Why do you think why do you think it's emotional? I think it's I'm gathering evidence. I'm I thank you, Shaun. I appreciate that. And it's so funny. I I was literally just thinking of the my kids used to watch Daniel Tiger and he's like, when you feel so mad that you want to roar, and then you gotta take a deep breath and count to four. But anyways, I'm fine. Barry: Cause your h emotions are heightened right now. Shaun: Jerry, Jerry, Jerry. Barry: Take a deep breath, Jen. Take a deep breath. Take a deep breath. Jen: First of all, how's it girl? I'm a passionate person. Like Shaun, he's a passionate person. Very passionate person. He's a very passionate person. But anyways, is not an emotional decision. I think it's ⁓ can't be coming in here hopping around acting too nasty. Barry: You are a passionate person. I don't know. I've heard Shaun lacks passion. No, I'm joking. Shaun is a passionate person. Shaun: That's true, very passionate. That's true too. Barry: No. I'm messing with you, Jen. I'm messing with you. I will I don't ever want to speak in generalities. Not all women are emotional. Jen: I'm gonna text Becca right now and be like, get your husband. Come get your husband. He's just trying to make good podcast content. Shaun: That's not, I was like, that's not what you said like 30 seconds ago. ⁓ Barry: No. Again, I'm logically thinking I just I said something that was inc encompassing of all women and that's not true. So I can say that I that's not a fact of what I said. Shouldn't speak in generalities. Shaun: Okay, look at you. Look at you retracting your statement. You're not. Jen: Say it again for the people in the back. No. Barry: I'm not I mean, I think a lot of times female female I don't want to say all females, but females do let emotions dictate their decisions. I would stick by that statement, but I said all women and that's not a fact. Shaun: right, everybody. Welcome back to Enough to Say It, episode number four. ⁓ Okay, if you word it that way, I can understand what you're saying. Females do tend, and I'm gonna say this very carefully, but females do tend to lean into the emotional side of decisions more than men do. I can agree with you on that. Yeah, because... Yeah, I understand what saying. Thanks for joining back with us. If you are new here, make sure to go down there and hit that like and subscribe. That way you can always come back to us. And don't forget about that bell on YouTube so that you get notified every time we have those new episodes that drop. So, dropping them weekly. Now, if you are new here, you may not know, but we always start out our episodes by catching up from the weekend. So, Jen. Barry: So I spoke in generalities. Jen: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Hundred percent. I can ⁓ I can I can say I can agree to that. Yeah. Mm-hmm. But I don't think but I also think women's emotions are a lot more like the it's a superpower, I think, in my head. But I am a woman, so I do have bias because I ⁓ I think that I think their emotions are their superpowers. I think some people, it's not being a woman, it's the fact that you as a human have not learned to control those emotions or how to utilize those emotions in the correct way. Barry: That's was that is my intent behind my statement. Dropping them weekly. Shaun: How was your weekend, ma'am? Jen: It was good. ⁓ it was a little wild, a lot of commotion. We bought a tortoise. ⁓ yes, we bought a tortoise. We bought a tortoise. It's just some no, but he will probably outlive live us all because they're supposed to live like two a hundred and between a hundred and hundred and fifty years. Yeah. But yes, we have a tortoise. His name is Theo Theodore, but Theo for short. Yes. Shaun: ⁓ for sure. Excuse me. Jen: way. But again, I think that's a human thing, not a woman thing. And I'll get off my soapbox now. Okay. ⁓ Barry: How old is it? Is it a baby or did you get like a hundred year old tortoise? Are you good? No, are you good? Shaun: Well, no, stay, well, hold on, stay on that soapbox just for a minute, Jen. And I want you to stay on the soapbox because let's talk about the show that Barry told us to watch. He told us to watch Maternal Instinct. So let's stay on this soapbox of women being emotionally superpowered. This one, okay, spoiler alert, if you haven't watched the movie on Netflix yet, because we are gonna talk about it. Yeah. Barry: That's crazy. Theo, Theodore. Jen: Yes, can we? ⁓ my god. Barry: Speaking of emotional no I'm joking. Shaun: So you just got bored and decided to buy a freaking dinosaur? Jen: No, no. So my sister found this Facebook post of these people that were getting rid of this turtle. And we just were like, yeah, we've been looking for a pet to give the kids that's not a dog. And Mm mm. Barry: Yes, if we are going to talk about the details, yes, we are spoiling things for sure. So a tortoise. That that was the natural next one, not a cat, a guinea pig, a hamster. Jen: We're gonna spoil it. Shaun: So tortoise is the direction you go. Yeah. Yeah, so about to completely blow it up. So if you want to watch Maternal Instinct on Netflix, pause, fast forward and then come back to it later on after you. ⁓ And come back to it after you watch it. ⁓ But the jump, ⁓ that is off the rails. Jen: But the tortoise lives outside. No, because they s no, because they smell really bad. They're inside. It's a lot of things like no. I had a getting pick growing up and absolutely not. Pause. Press the pause button. Barry: Pause f for now. Fast forward we'll we'll let you know when we're done. Jen: And then come back to it later. Barry: Did I dude I had multiple gu I killed my did I tell you that story? I killed a guinea pig. Jen: And I'm not trying to find a dead hamster in my bathroom. Like mm mm. Mm-mm. Shang. But then you have to like take the things out and you have to clean their stuff all the time. Yes. Yes. Literally. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Bro, the first five minutes were like, Where the hell is this even going? It was in unintentional. I was like ten at the time. And we had like this thirty gallon glass like aquarium with the cedar. You have to take them all out, yep, and you line it with newspaper and it gets all grody and stuff. Well, I did that and I forgot I know, I probably went back inside to play video games. No. I I left the thing outside in the Texas summer. Jen: I think I what did I say? I messaged you guys at like a minute and 32 seconds and I was like, I'm already saying WTF like five times. What's happening here? Wild. Mm-mm. But Shaun: Yeah. ⁓ Barry: Yo, for real. Yo. The chick with the baby and the umbilical cord in her lap in the car? Shaun: Mm. Yeah. Jen: I like I have so many questions still, even after watching the documentary. Like I I I'm still like, how did it get that far? Like, how did it get that far? Like I couldn't imagine, yes, she's crazy, but and I did feel some tinge of like sadness for the guy, for the boyfriend, because he did just seem like a a just ⁓ a regular country guy trying to work hard, didn't come from money, trying to really work hard. Shaun: It's insane. Jen: We've got to put it back in there. Barry: And I come out and it is passed out, y'all. Like there was no even water in there. I I I literally just left it in a glass cage of emotion, bro. And it was not a good choice. So but okay, so I did try to save it, y'all. I tried to give it mouth to mouth. I at least tried to save the guinea pig, bro. Jen: Barbecued it. You barbecued it. Barry: ⁓ Shaun: She's crazy. Jen: ⁓ no. Glass case of emotion So Shaun: This this is absolutely insane. I'm working with psycho serial killers. My gosh. I mean, I I don't know. Barry: ⁓ a hundred percent. Shaun: ⁓ yeah. Jen: Hey, why are we looping me into this? I saved the turtle. Which did you guys know that all tortoises are turtles, but not all turtles are tortoises? Barry: Just a good old boy, bro, yeah, just trying to do the right thing. Jen: So I did have some ⁓ sympathy for him. But at the same time, everyone, not some people, your mom, the your best friends, your like people that are your core, how can you have all of them telling you something is suspicious and not look into it? You know what I mean? Not do something. He Barry: But I had too many But at the same time, bro, people are telling you that hey, everyone for real. Shaun: ⁓ so it's like whiskey and bourbon. Barry: That doesn't make sense. Jen: Yes, exactly like that. All tortoises are turtles, but not all turtles are tortoises. Barry: Say it again. ⁓ yeah, okay. Sorry. I had to yeah, slow that down in my brain. Old age, I'm telling y'all, it catches you. We said it. Jen: Slow it down a little bit. Shaun: Yeah. Old age, you know, you gotta give them a second to catch up. He said that he didn't really believe her. He said that he always had something in the back of his mind that told him to doubt. Jen: Talk slower. I got it. But that was my weekend. Well, and then off obviously the the cookout. Shaun: ⁓ my gosh. Jen: Which again, if you didn't, then why didn't you act upon that? He's he specifically said Barry: So it's I'm assuming y'all got it named Theodore or y'all chose that name? ⁓ the people didn't even like, hey, this is so and so y'all are getting y'all could just do whatever. Does it come to you when you call it? This is Jajen's point. The emotional. He didn't he didn't feed on the emotion. He just said logically, I don't believe it, so I'm not gonna investigate. But yo Jen: No, we had no idea what its name was. Shaun: But when he did, like when he did try and break up with her, she freaking dangly burned the house down. So what else he supposed to do? Jen: No. Yeah. Barry: This is true. You are wrong. Yeah. Jen: ⁓ he doesn't really we go on walks every day. We do go on lunch walks. In my backyard, guys. I'm not sitting there with a leash. No. Although they do exist. They do exist. I don't was that him breaking up with her? I did not catch that. I thought she was just trying to make a distraction. How did I not catch that? Then he should have called the cops and get an and got a restraining order. No, you should have done more. I feel like he should have done more. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Yeah. He was trying to like separate yeah, no no no no no. He was trying to get away. Yeah. Shaun: That'd be like three business days. Walks with a tortoise? Barry: You go on walks with a tortoise. ⁓ I was like, come on, bro, what do you have? A leash like around the shell or what? Does it have a harness? Is it like a ninja turtle, like how they carry their their weapons? Shaun: No, yeah, like he... She was trying to make a distraction. She was trying to delay it, but also... Yeah, she's psycho. So I don't... I agree. feel like he could have done so much more just because the fact that it's it's right there in front of his face. And I get it. You all know how I feel about love. I say that love is not real all the time because I don't believe that is real most of the time. But like when you are in that mode of like, love this person, this person is changing my life. Like we are doing all of these really cool, great things together. You're blinded. But you're heated. I mean. Jen: Listen, don't judge me and how I have a relationship with my tortoise. Well, actually, you're not supposed to feed it iceberg lettuce because they do like it, but it doesn't have a low nutritional value. So his favorite right now is kale. That's his favorite. He really likes cucumbers too, but it is kale's like a superfood, isn't it? Like yeah, kale's great. Mm-hmm. Barry: So w ⁓ okay, so you feed it what lettuce? Shaun: That's true. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Tail. Barry: Kale's overrated, bro. Kale is overrated. I mean, no. I won't even no. Shaun: You're overrated, bro. Jen: Yeah. Barry: But yo, those things were phony, bro. They were fake. He did buy it, bro. But I mean, she was giving him like sixty thousand dollar trucks and saying they're gonna buy this twenty acres and start a hog farm and all kinds of crazy stuff, bro. I think you kinda wanna be like, damn, I hit the lottery with this person, so I don't wanna lose it, so I gotta go along with it. But I think to her Shaun: Kale's great. You've never had like massaged kale salad? Dude. Massaged kale salad. Don't make me sound bougie right now. Don't do that to me. Don't do that to me. Jen: But no but he Barry: The hell? What are you talking about? Massaged kale? ⁓ you sound real bougie, bro. Massage. I've never s heard somebody describe kale to massage it, so I don't even know what the hell you're talking about. Jen: Massaged. Mass Shaun, I really want to be on your side right now, but massaged? Shaun: Yeah, buying him a $4 million. Yeah. Jen: He yes. Yeah. Yeah, that honestly Shaun: Yes. Like that's it like softens it because kale is really really ⁓ hold on. Kale is really tough if you just try and like bite into a piece of kale. So you cut it and then you like massage it with like olive oil and vinegar and things like that, and that's what makes it softer for you to eat. With your hands. Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. And I think that's really what a lot of it was. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: ⁓ does it? Yes, it is. It is. Barry: her emotional craziness, she was pulling them strings and she knew what he needed to hear to go along with it. Yeah, that's why nobody likes it. Jen: For sure. For sure. Shaun: ⁓ yeah. And you even heard that multiple times throughout the movie as well. Like, people always said that she would get far enough away but still stay close enough to where she can keep the lie going and... Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Barry: What what technique do you use, Machon? Like a sheet shihtzu massage or what like Well duh. I'm joking, bro. my gosh. ⁓ as you know what. Jen: Yeah, I'm gonna need a can ooh, okay. ⁓ Barry: Yep. Yep. To be able to yep, kind of build credibility but not be like checkable. Yeah. Bro. But did y'all see the ending coming? So y'all didn't like y'all didn't read like the summary or anything before you watched it? Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Just massage it with your hands, dude, and it softens it up. You know what, Barry? I'm not Yeah. I'm not doing this with you right now. How was your weekend, Barry? What did you do? You're about to piss me off when we're like three minutes in. Let's find out. Jen: Yeah, I don't know. I just Ugh. You know, just gotta give your kale a little bit of love before you eat it. Shaun: So this is why it's not worth it. Jen: Guys, this conversation's gonna go off the rails really fast. No, and I didn't know, like when I was explaining it to my friend the next day after I watched it, ⁓ she already knew about the news story. So she kind of like, ⁓ yeah, it was that chick that this happened. And I like, I had no, I yeah, I had never heard of it. I had no idea. Yeah, not at all. So it was all very much a shock. And ⁓ my gosh. I mean, I knew as soon as they brought in that she was like the wedding photographer of this other person and now this other person's pregnant, I knew that that's what was gonna happen. Shaun: No. Barry: Nah, bro. You know you don't get mad. You don't get mad at me. ⁓ my weekend was pretty good one, man. ⁓ we were off Friday, so I went and played some golf. I got to play golf with my mom, my grandmother, my uncle. So my grandmother's like eighty five, man. She's getting up there, so I'm just trying to take as many opportunities as I can to get out and just have those moments and memories. So I had never heard of it before. De Kalb, Texas. Never knew that place existed. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. I don't know it existed but I never heard of that. Stop. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. That's where starts to click. Jen: Like I I yes, I knew that that was what was gonna happen, but I just couldn't believe it. Exactly. Like I just couldn't believe it until I s watched it and hearing the mom's 911 call. Y'all, you already know I'm emotion I am an emotional person when I'm watching things. I cried hysterically at Toy Story Five, y'all. Like I was a blubbering mess. I Yeah. Barry: It was nice. I actually played decent golf on top of that, so it was a good day. I think I knew it, but I didn't want to believe that yeah, I was gonna say I did not want to believe that that's where it happened. No. Bro. Jen: Showing out for grandma. ⁓ Shaun: Ray wasn't there? Barry: Yeah. What'd you say? No, he wasn't, bro. No, he wasn't. Jealous. Jealous. No, bro. He's no. No, not this time. No, I don't think I've ever put golf with Ray. That's not his thing. I mean, it's a good ⁓ No, you all you are. Told you, my ride or die right now, bro. Ride or die for sure. Shaun: Ray wasn't there? I'm just asking, dude. I'm just asking. Ray's like always he's always the homeboy hanging out with you, like doing stuff. I'm just asking. Like, is Ray hanging out with the family playing golf? ⁓ I don't know, I'm just curious. Okay. Yeah. Jen: Clip it. Barry: ⁓ man, I couldn't imagine. Jen: It sounds like Shaun wants to be with the family playing golf. Shaun: You Barry: ⁓ you were distraught then when you heard that woman screaming at the top of her lungs on the phone, bro. Jen: You have no idea. I it was like a weird visceral. Like I literally watched it later at night before I went to bed. I actually watched it while I was on the treadmill. And I had to get off. I was hysterical and I had to like scroll TikTok for like 30 minutes that night because I couldn't get my brain to separate from it. I ⁓ my god, yeah. Shaun: You know, I'm I'm not good enough, Jen. I'm not good enough for him. I'm I'm not Ray. Want one of the days. Yeah, we'll we'll see. We'll see someday. Jen: One of these days, Shaun. I see it. One of these days. Barry: ⁓ but Saturday we'll we'll talk about Saturday here in a minute, but the cookout was phenomenal. Good time. ⁓ and then Sunday was Father's Day, so it's a pretty good day. Jen: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: Let's talk about that. Yeah, it's a lot. It's a lot to take in. mean, just thinking that someone would go to all of those different levels to like, if you just think. Well. Jen: Happy Father's Day, Dads. Barry: Thank you. Same to all the good dads. Jen: Do that. And we're also so mentally unwell to think it would work. Like, how did you think that was gonna work? Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Whatever. Happy Father's Day, dudes. Barry: Dude, so involved. Jen: he said, sure. Have a day. Barry: Yo, she st she was still denying it when they had her in the damn hospital, bro. It's all right. We spent it with ⁓ I was say spent the whole day. We went out with Becca's dad and had like a late lunch, clear spring. Shaun: Yeah. And she's playing all of these different roles. Like she's playing, of course, the role of herself, but she's playing the role of her mom, the real estate agents, the bank person, her uncle. Like, yeah, all of these different people. Jen: ⁓ yeah, y'all went to ⁓ yes to get fish. How was it? Mm. ⁓ Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Got some fish. Barry: I mean I didn't get f I guess I got I got crawfish salad. It was alright. We ate so much fried pickles and onion rings though, so I didn't really eat it. Hmm. Salad. It's really just fried crawfish, no kale. Real real no. Real lettuce. Good stuff. And like a what do they call it? A Cajun ranch. I mean, I feel like it's just tabasco sauce and ranch, but whatever you want to dress it up with. And then Yo, with all the phones, man. All the phones and emails. Jen: Mm-hmm. That random Scott person that was gonna buy the hogs, like that's a wild. Shaun: Crawfish what? Crawfish what? What is crawfish salad? Ew. Barry: Yo, but that was that's how well she thought it out was like, yo, I gotta get this dude away so I can get this baby. Jen: Was there kale in it? No massage cancer. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Exactly. Calling in a bomb threat to a hospital. Like what are we doing? Jen: Yeah. I think the documentary said she had like forty aliases. Yes. ⁓ yeah. Barry: Yo, so she didn't have to go to the doctor, a bomb threat? Like were we back in the nineties, bro? Like when you w weren't trying to take a college exam, you called in a bomb threat? Jen: Literally. Shaun: right like like all of the different levels Jen: Hmm, interesting. That's so wild. Barry: Yeah, that was it. Watched a lot of World Cup talk about that too. And I mean in today's environment that's risky, bro. They're gonna find out, they're gonna put your butt in jail. I mean, I guess she's already there anyway, so Shaun: Nice. Ooh, yeah, you gotta update me on World Cup. I saw Argentina did pretty well today. Jen: Mm-hmm. I'm honestly surprised that they they didn't have some sort of more looking into that, like where it came from or anything. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Yes, sir, they did do some things. Shaun: Yeah, DHS don't play around with that nowadays. ⁓ Barry: Yeah, for real. I guess she was using burners, probably. Shaun: I was trying to look at it every once in a while when I could. But yeah, some good stuff. Man, my weekends was honestly work here in the office, getting some things set up. I kind of did some rearranging and took care of some business I needed to take care of. But the other big part of my weekend was actually with you guys. On Saturday, we had a cookout. Barry, hold on. Let me let me set the stage for this. Let me set the stage for this. Jen: Yeah. I guess. Barry: Yeah. What else did you do this weekend? Get them old school flip phones with the chirp. Do you have the chirp, Shaun? Chirp. Shaun: Right? The chirp. The chirp. No, I did not have to chirp. No, never had one of those Nextels. That'd be dope. Right? I was never cool enough for the Nextel. I was never cool enough for the sidekick. I wanted a sidekick so bad. I thought that was so dope. Never had it. Yeah. That so cool. At the full QWERTY keyboard. ⁓ Gosh. Jen: How not the chirp. Barry: Bro, we used to do that all the time, man. The NextTelphones, bro. Jen: No, I I was never cool enough. Mm, yeah. ⁓ I loved the sidekick. Yes. When you could just flip the little thing up and ⁓ what a magical time that was. Full keyboard. Yes. So good. Mm-hmm. Yep. Yep. I had the pink one. That was the it for high school girls, was the pink razor. Barry: I never had the sidekick, but I did have the Nextel with the chirk. Say it bro, tell ⁓ tell ⁓ in the back. Tell ⁓ in the back, bro. Jen: Yeah, set the stage. Set the stage. Barry: Nah, I didn't have that. Yeah, I did have the full keyboard. But mm, the Razor. Yeah, man. Shaun: So Barry wanted to have a cookout for Juneteenth. So he came up with this menu that is pretty controversial. I'm just gonna say, I'm pretty controversial. So I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna lay out the menu for you guys so that you know what we had at this cookout. So, first of all, main course fried chicken. Had fried chicken, we had collard greens, we had deviled eggs. I did have the razor though. My mom made me buy it myself, but I worked my butt off and I bought that razor. The blue one, ⁓ that was the way to go. Pink one, that was super popular. Yes. So he came up with this menu that is ⁓ pretty controversial. Barry: I would I I mean, it can depending on who you talk to, I guess, yes. Jen: And Barry: Yeah, okay. Speaking of razors, the fact that she took the scalpel in the baby bag, bro. Shaun: ⁓ my god. Jen: Yes, I know. ⁓ Barry: Yo, but Becca was saying I don't know if it was like in the documentary or if she did a little digging after. Like she really tried to make it seem like the woman attacked her. Like I guess there was an extended ver version of the police investigation. Yes. Like yes. Shaun: She's sick. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mac and cheese. We had what else? Yams, potato salad, pasta salad. And then the two kickers. The two kickers to pull this all together. Of course, we had some desserts as well. But the two kickers to pull this together, we had Kool-Aid, both red and grape. Barry: Potato salad, yams, pasta salad, the cornbread. Jen: Yes. In the interview, she said it. She said that she asked her to cut her cut her cut the baby out and take her. And he's like, you're telling me that this woman, this mother was attacking you and then telling you to physically cut out her baby and go with her. Like no one is who's gonna believe you? But she's still trying to appeal it. I don't know if y'all saw that. Like she's on death row. She's been sentenced, but she's still trying to appeal it, which is insane. No. Shaun: She even mentioned that in the interview. Yeah. Jen: Potato salad. Cornbread? Shaun: Take her, baby. Barry: Yeah. No. No. The two best types, red by far the better of the two, but we had the top two for sure. Jen: Red and purple. Shaun: No one's gonna do that. And watermelon. Jen: Oof. Controversial, but Barry: No no. Yeah. Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah. Shaun: Not controversial, red is better. But Kool-Aid and Watermelon got added to this menu as well. So Barry, please tell us what you were thinking when you came up with this extremely controversial menu for Juneteenth. Okay. ⁓ Yeah. That will never work. Did you all see? I don't know if y'all caught on to it, but did you see it? I'm thinking that it was just like Netflix trying to be sneaky and throw it in there. But when she was researching how to do a caesarian, did you see the smile in the camera? Jen: Mm. Barry: Facts. Bro, I love soul food. Like, I don't feel like it's that controversial. Like I've filled my soul with so much happiness over the last three days, man. Shaun: So fried chicken and watermelon were like the first things that came to mind. I mean Barry: ⁓ Jen: No. Shaun: Go back and watch. Just watch that clip. It is the creepiest thing I have ever seen. I think Netflix was just trying to slip it in there and see if people would notice it. Yeah, it was the actress portrayal. But yeah, like looking up the video of how to do the Caesarian. Barry: I mean y'all changed the name. I didn't. Jen: Ew. Okay. I didn't catch it at all. I was about to say, I don't even think that was Barry. Barry: I did not change the name to the cookout. I did, I did want to celebrate Juneteenth. I did. I'll give you that. Shaun: It was Barry. He was the one that initiated the conversation. Barry: Was it like the actress portrayal or was it actually her? ⁓ okay, okay, okay, gotcha. Yeah, I have to check that out. I did not notice that. Jen: Probably. Yeah, like making it like sensation. Yeah. Ew. He did yeah. And I do think he came up with the fried chicken, but I think it spiraled with everybody in the group chat from there. In Barry's defense. Shaun: Okay. Yes. I don't know. I think it was all in Barry. He just decided that we were gonna hey, let's celebrate the black people with And then there's like this really creepy smile. You can see the reflection of it in the computer. Go back and look at that. Yeah, go back and look at that. ⁓ my gosh. Gave me chills looking at that. Barry: No. I mean, I don't know. I d I don't bro, I grew up around black people. Like I feel comfortable around y'all. I don't know. I just enjoy yes, y'all. You're a black person. This is nothing new. Bro, are you baiting you were Clayton Biggs be out here? You blind, you can't see or what, bro? On like the screen I'm assuming. I gotcha. I have to check it out. That's hey, Netflix going into them fine details, bro. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Y'all whoa hold up hold up What what else I Whoa I can't believe it can't believe her that's why I couldn't believe that she would marry that ⁓ my gosh Jen: Yeah. And that's disgusting because that's probably really what was happening. Like, yes, I'm my time is is on a time crunch and I have finally figured it out. ⁓ a hundred percent. She Shaun, do we need to talk about things right now? Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I don't know bro. She had do you think she had like mental health issues? Shaun: So, okay, so here's the thing. This is where I hate the defense of mental health. the reason why is because she thought every single aspect of this out. Yeah, it was super calculated. So there is, that's the thing, there's something wrong with her. You can't think of things like this unless there's something wrong with you. But I hate the defense of mental health in that situation because you did think so far into what it was that you were gonna do. Jen: Oops. Hehehehehe Yes. Barry: No, th you ain't wrong. That was all planned and calculated, so there's yeah. But bro, I don't know. I just be yo, and I said it in the chat, I really have been craving collard greens, bro. Like so long they were good, dude. No, but I Jen: Yeah, yeah. Shaun: That's true. Jen: And they were so good. Ugh, they were I'm not, I'm not lying. And I even took a ton home with me and I gave it to my sister and she said same. So they smacked. I'm still waiting for the recipe. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Don't lie to my face. Barry: No. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I mean that just shows the the flaws in our justice system 'cause that's how people get off, bro. That's how lawyers they they think of anything they can to try and to ⁓ break that credibility. Luckily. Bro, it's sickening, man. It's crazy. Jen: Yeah. Barry: Dude, phenomenal. They were good. I'm telling you, that's all I've been eating since Saturday. That's all I've been eating. Shaun: Dope. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: It is. Yeah. Which luckily it didn't work for her and hopefully it doesn't work if she tries to, if she continues to appeal it. I mean, you're not getting a recipe 'cause there's not one. And then I mean, I have to say I yeah, I can do that. I know that's easy. I can do that for you. Well there you go. I mean, it was all delicious. The chicken was great. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. But it also like the other side of that is it ⁓ it's makes such a bad rap for people who do struggle with mental health but work really hard to make yes, who do need the help but work really hard to live a good life and be a good human and whatever, even though they have these struggles. Like you're giving them such a bad rap. And that's why mental health is so like taboo and nobody really wants to talk about it. Yes. Because Listen, you can send me an ingredient list. What spices do you put in there? Yeah, that's all I need. Barry: For real. And need the help. Mm-hmm. No, I really want you I Shaun, as an African American person, I do want your honest opinion on the fried chicken, bro. And you can you can be real. Shaun: Mm-hmm and need it. Yeah No, okay. So here's the thing. The chicken was really good. There's like there's no there's no debating that it was good. The one thing, the one thing I would say, hold on, the one thing I would say, there were no wings. Why no wings, dog? Barry: Mm-hmm. How you don't get the funds and the support. Mm-hmm. 'Cause you have people using it in the wrong way. Yep. Yep. Okay. See, notice what I want. I want feedback, bro. Give me it. Okay, I actually did have wings in the fridge, bro. Jen: I don't want you to commentate me with that. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. A hundred percent. Mm-mm. Shaun: Mm-hmm, I'm doing wild things like that. Well, I do have another rec for y'all. It is another one on Netflix. Another crazy chick. It's also... It's not. It's not at all. It's not at all. Where were the wings then? Barry: In a fridge. I just didn't make I didn't know everybody wanted them. I honestly I ordered them on accident even. Like they weren't I didn't wasn't paying attention when I ordered them. But I'm saving them for our youngest. That's been like her thing the last like month is eating wings. So I am gonna make them. I I just I don't that was a lot of pressure, but it was enough pressure to try and pull off the fried chicken, man. I yo, I practiced. I told y'all. I showed y'all pictures, but I practiced. I wanted to get it right. Jen: He just didn't make Mm. Okay. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Listen, I feel like this is turning very pointed, guys. Shaun: Fair enough. Barry: I didn't even know about this one, Jen. I'm gonna be honest. But I think I know what he's talking about, which if he's if it is the same thing, it is it's pretty almost as crazy. Is it the it's that one documentary about the girl who drives a car a hundred miles an hour? Yo, that shit is crazy too. Yes. Yes. But I mean I mean honestly, that's my point is this was a spoiled ass child who never got told no. Jen: Wings. Shaun: She was there. No, I was talking. It's fine. Jen: I mean, that is a lot of pressure to have like you're in charge of the chicken, like ⁓ no. Shaun: What do you think it is? That is pressure. It's pressure to cook for a for a group of people. Yes, the crash. You've seen it? You've seen the crash? Have you seen it too, Barry? Okay, okay. Let's debrief that one too, because my goodness. Jen: ⁓ I've seen it. ⁓ we let go ahead let's go ahead and debrief. Let's debrief. Mm-hmm. It I mean it paid off 'cause Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I take it seriously. I ain't just one of these white people out here trying to just be like, Yeah, we're gonna do it and then it's gross. Like I want it to be what I wanted it to be. A celebration of good food, bro, and bringing people together. Jen: Exactly. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: A hundred percent. I one hundred percent agree. Yeah. Uh-huh. Shaun: Hey. Yes. And still, continue to not get told no. Barry: And she didn't never have real life consequences until something she chose to do really affected hers and unfortunately two other people's lives and ended theirs. And she just somehow locked walked away. But that's the crazy thing with stuff like this. Like I feel like the people that do those things and make those decisions, they walk away and that's their punishment because you have to live. But the sad thing is I don't know if she I don't know if it's narcissism or if it's really gonna affect her because she's still Shaun: It was good, man. Yeah. I I was too. I almost fell asleep in that chair, I'm not gonna lie. Like I was sitting over there. J Jin, that's why you were standing up walking around. Jen: And it was. I left so full. Barry: Well, take a nap. Jen: I think yeah. Mm hmm. I think it's a really, really good case of That's why I stood up and started walking in the back. I'm not joking. I was like, I'm so full. I'm so sleepy. This couch is too comfortable. I need to get up and walk around. Shaun: Mm-hmm. And somebody said it to me. They were like, Shaun, wake up. I was like, I am awake. I'm just like, you said it to me. I was like, I'm awake. ⁓ it's fine. No, but it was delicious, man. Jen: I said it to you 'cause you were having a conversation with the back of your eyelids. Yeah. Barry: Bro, it was all good. The cornbread I finally ate that tonight, man. That was good. The honey is a nice touch, bro. Jen: I don't think she cares. Barry: Like her defense of I don't remember like, bro, you can't that's not that can't be your story. No. You just don't want to admit what you did because you know that people are gonna come down on you even harder than they already are. But no, bro, that shit was so crazy. Yeah. Jen: ⁓ so good. Mm-hmm. I've never seen somebody do that, but it was so good. Shaun: Yeah. No, it just add just a little bit of sweetness on it. Yeah. We get we get a group that can cook, man. We got a group that can cook and come through. Yeah. So yeah. That's complete crap. There's no way. Yeah. Jen: I suddenly have pots. No, yeah. Barry: It was good. Had some tonight. Jen: We do. We do. Mm-hmm. Barry: It all came together for sure. But yeah, man, no, it was a good time. ⁓ Kool Aid's finally well no, the red's gone, of course. Everybody wanted to drink the red. So that got that got killed today. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. And no sane human would not have the empathy that she doesn't have. Like you would like you, Barry, like you just said, like ⁓ normal people would the punishment is living with the fact that you caused that and you took two people's lives and she does not have any, not even a drop of actual remorse that that is what happened. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Jin, like you just need to give it up. Jen: That's just because y'all were drinking the red. No. Okay, we're clipping this right now and we're gonna put it out on socials and have people vote. Do you want, would you prefer red Kool-Aid or purple Kool-Aid? No. No one says flavors. Red or purple. Shaun: Do it. Barry: yeah. In the chat, y'all tell us what's the better. And we're only saying colors. We don't need no s no flavor recommendations. It's either red or purple. That's it. Those are the only two choices because anything else is is erroneous. Yeah, Jen is wrong. ⁓ is wrong. No, she no. No. It's no. The mom like seeing the mom and how they acted at the end, like trying to explain it away and appeal and well if you No a hundred percent. Yeah. Shaun: No flavors, just red or purple. Jen: Yes, that's what I was gonna say. It's a classic case of like parent neglect, truly. Like it neglect doesn't just look like not feeding your kids or beating your kid or leaving them somewhere. It's not exactly not holding them accountable, letting them do whatever they want, like wild. Absolutely insane. And I do think it was on purpose. Yeah. There is a correct answer. If you want to cheat, it's purple. Yeah, it's purple. ⁓ Shaun: And everyone knows what it is. Speaking of ch speaking of cheating, actually, Jen, ⁓ we need to talk about we need to talk about our little competition with The Office. There was there was a little birdie that told me that you were cheating the entire time and texting. Texting. Yeah, absolutely. 100%. Barry: ⁓ No. No, it is holding them accountable. Jen: I knew you were gonna bring it up. Barry: Mm. No. No. Unfortunately. Yeah. ⁓ a hundred but did the fact that there was no brake ever applied in the di the the car data. Like no brake. It just pure acceleration. And the car went into neutral a couple of times. You know them dudes were trying to stop that car and they couldn't hit the brake, so they tried to put it in neutral. But I don't know, bro. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: My my supposing I was not googling and I did not lie because I was not Googling. I said I wasn't Googling. But I sure was texting my husband and he was very, I will just say he was disappointed on all the fronts. One that I would cheat. Yeah, at he should be, but listen. Shout out to Kenny. Yeah, I think I've said it. I think I've said it already. ⁓ but appreciate you for checking. ⁓ but he was, you know, disappointed. Barry: I told y'all she was Googling. Shaun: And it... Oh, it was 100 % on purpose. 100%. Barry: ⁓ that's like a Damn Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And the the road being swervy. Mm-hmm. We're trying to fight it. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Which he should be. Mm-hmm. Barry: As he should be. As he should be. Shout out to K to can I say his name? Shout out to Kenny. I was like I don't know if I'm Okay. Shout out to Kenny. Shaun: and Yeah. And even with the curve going onto that road, like going super slow, turning signal is on, very controlled turn, and then all of a sudden, pedal to the metal. Barry: Controlled. Mm-hmm. Something was said or somebody like pissed her off in the car and then she got her she got her emotions. She got in her emotions, Jen. Jen: Yes, yeah. Mm-hmm. Boom. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And me for cheating. Barry: He should be disappointed as you didn't know the answers and that you were trying to get ⁓ from him. There's two fronts. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Okay. It was it was really just the one that I didn't know. But he also was like, I'm so disappointed that you didn't win, that you didn't know these answers. And then he was mad because he was like, I I should have been on there taking that quiz because I would have won. So he was very disappointed. Okay. Shaun: I'm staying away from that part. Barry: Come on. Jen: Again, I mean, who's the most likely statistically to murder somebody in this room? It's not me and Shaun. just saying. ⁓ just saying. ⁓ again, human emotion. Shaun: That's true too. ⁓ Barry: I mean you ain't wrong. White white dudes do some dumb ass things. But Shaun: Yeah, he probably would have. Yeah. So what this means is that from now on, any time that we have games like that, we will have whiteboards and there will be a time limit. You you learn from the first one. So we will have whiteboards, we'll have time limits. That way there is no cheating. Barry: And he probably would've he probably would've. ⁓ good thing I'm emotionally intelligent. That's all I know. Jen: Yes. Yes. You do. You do. But I will say I never lied. I just I said I wasn't Googling. Because I wasn't. Is it? Is it? Mm. ⁓ I don't know if I agree. Barry: Yeah, whiteboards are the way to go, for sure. Yep, we can only make it better, bro. Can only make it better. Shaun: There's another common denominator amongst all of this. Jen: Ha ha. Barry: I mean you know somebody's gotta get g gotta get the the punishment or the blame. No, I'm joking. White people do stuff stupid stuff. Shaun: Man. Jen: But honestly, I with that with that one, I felt so bad for the kid that was in the back that truly had nothing to do with this crazy toxic relationship, was truly just made the wrong choice to take a ride with somebody else that he wasn't even originally going to ride with. Ugh, I just felt so bad for him and his family because like he was a good kid and he wasn't making bad decisions. It wasn't him doing Shaun: Omission is a lie, Jen. Omission is a lie. Yes. Yes. Barry: I was gonna say. Yeah. Yes. Not telling the truth doesn't mean that you're not lying. Shaun: ⁓ yeah. Had nothing to do with it. Barry: Man No, no. Shaun: Exactly. Jen: Mm. I don't know. It depends. In this case, it benefits me to say no. So Barry: Bro, that's a crazy thing with life, man. That's such a crazy thing with life. I mean let's look it up in a def in a dictionary. Let's actually find a definition. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Do we need to find a diction dictionary of that? Because lying by omission is a thing. That is a factual. Jen: Is lying. I will say, if I was on the other end, you know I'd be absolutely not. You lied. Cheating. Barry: Right. Jen: Like bad things, and this is what happened because of his actions. Like this, that was just truly wrong place, wrong time thing for him. Ugh, felt awful. Barry: The same thing, one in the same. The wrong place at the wrong time. Mm-hmm. For sure. Well, I mean, luckily I told ya I was gonna win and I did, so it doesn't really matter, but Shaun: Yeah. It pissed me off how much the parents were still trying to justify what it was that she did to how they're still trying to say like, ⁓ it's fine. Like, we don't have a problem with her smoking like she smoked all the time. It wasn't a big deal. Like she didn't like do anything crazy or anything like that. But like, how can you how can you live with yourself being able to justify something like that? I understand it's your kid. Jen: Eww Shaun: I mean, very clip. Barry: If I would have lost and I now heard this, then we would be doing another one right tonight. ⁓ no, I would have been reaching out to Kenny right away, but Jen: Clip it. Yeah. If you would have lost, it would have been a whole thing. But you rightfully won, so it's fine. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: ⁓ just that time. That's just one. Jen: I pinky promise not to cheat anymore, but we will be having whiteboards, y'all. Mm-hmm. Barry: Yeah, for sure. That's the way to go. Shaun: Yes, we will have whiteboards from now on. So you were talking about the World Cup a little bit ago. Tell me what happened. Like what happened this weekend? You know, I don't really keep up with soccer, so or futbol I don't keep up with it, so tell me about it. There's like five hundred teams. Yeah. Barry: Bro. Jen: So funny. Shaun: But at the same time, how can you justify something like that? And you have these other people that are reeling in pain from losing their friend, their kid, their brothers. All of these different things. That's crazy. Jen: I think it's like So much. Barry: Mm. Jen: Mm-hmm. Well, World Cup is hard to keep up with because it is nonstop. Like there's yes. Yeah, it's impossible to keep up with every single one. Mm-hmm. Barry: It's a lot right now. Yeah. It's like four I was gonna say four or five games a day, bro. Jen: Mm-hmm. And to sit there in the same courtroom and react the way that you're reacting to things being said and done and her punishment being read and stuff like that when they're right there and just having zero empathy for anything that they've gone through this entire time. Like having to watch these videos of their kids dying, like having to hear all of these crazy things, and you just have zero empathy for them. Yeah. Shaun: Yes. But it is in the group stage now or yeah, okay. Okay. I know Mexico and US are two and ⁓ right? Barry: Yes. ⁓ halfway about halfway through the group stage. So Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mmm. Barry: Bro, Mexico's game was nuts though. They barely won and the the ⁓ Korean goalkeeper well I don't even want to blame it on him. It was more the defender's fault 'cause the goalkeeper went up to like catch a like a a sky ball. And when he was coming down, his defender was in front of him, and so he like fumbled over him and literally dropped the ball to the Mexican ⁓ attacker and he booted it in, bro. And that was the only goal of the game, and that was like halfway through the second half, bro. It was so Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: It's all explained away. It's all explained away. Yeah, that's like my I think that's one of my biggest fears as a parent is like that I'm gonna find out or be presented with something that a decision that my child made that I can't fix. And like I think like I've definitely think that my child, if they do something like that, they should have to, but I think that would be a hard thing to like accept because then I feel like you look at yourself like, damn, what did I do to Shaun: at all. Mm-hmm. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: D. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah. Shaun: me. So it's one nil? ⁓ man. Barry: That was it, bro. It hurt. That had to hurt for them to lose that. Because it was a really good game. Like it was pretty equally matched with the besides that one mistake, bro. So that one was a crazy one. I watched that one Thursday night when we were at our friend's house. But that's what it yeah, that's all it takes in these matches, especially when you're against pretty evenly ⁓ talented teams. Yep, pretty much. ⁓ but I kinda I think contrary to what we were talking about, ⁓ like some of the I think more Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Well yeah. Jen: That's what it is in this in this one. One mistake. Barry: create this. And I'm I don't know if it's just, you know, I'm trying to like work through like thought of it all, but it I just not that I think people as or I think as a parent and I think I look at myself like my influences in my life, not to say that my parents didn't influence, but I really think back to the friends and like the eight to ten to twelve hours that I spent away from my parents. I think that shaped me Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Yeah, like what could I have done better? What did I not do? Yeah. The best of the best from everybody everybody. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Barry: traditional World Cup teams, I guess I'll say, kind of have got into a groove and like Brazil went out and won pretty big. ⁓ USA won two 0 against the Socaroos on Friday. So that was a fun game though. Clip it bro. Clip it ⁓ ⁓ Morocco beat Scotland. I don't know but Morocco actually might make it out the Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: more than my parents. So as a parent, I look at that and I'm like, I think that that's same, but again, that's just how I see it. I don't know if that's how my children see it or I don't know if that's fact either. It's just the way I have seen what I've seen as I've grown, you know, from my kids' age to where I am now. Shaun: Okay. Nice. Okay. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Barry: The group stage. So and that's kind of a big deal. What else? Japan whooped up on ⁓ tunes ⁓ to I can't even pronounce it. Tunisia. ⁓ I did just read this. Ecuador ⁓ ⁓ Curaçao became the smallest country to ever score a goal. Shaun: Okay. Jen: Maybe. Shaun: I don't think that you can see that as a kid though. I think that that comes with growing and maturing because yeah, you grow, mature and then you see those kinds of things because you always hear, especially when you're younger, like show me your friends and I'll show you your future. Like that's incredibly true. But I think he does, yeah. Barry: ⁓ a hundred percent. No, it is not until I'm now an adult that I see that. Yeah. For sure. Jen: No. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Tunisia? Okay. I mean, just had just had the freaking cookout. Jen: Yeah. Barry: And it ain't wrong, Bo. It is. Jen: Mm-hmm. I think the dad says that in that documentary. Like it's so true. Yeah. Barry: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: ⁓ okay. Small is by land size or by population? Yeah, and that's one of those things is like you can't understand that as a kid because you're of that young mindset and you want to go out and you want to have fun and you want to do the things you want to do. You want to grow up so fast and then you get older. You don't. Yeah, you're like, man, we're just having fun. We're just having a good time. But then you get older and you're like, man, mom, dad, you were right. Like everything that you said, you're right. Just one day. Barry: So Jen: Yeah. Barry: And that's a good question. Jen: Mm-hmm. Obviously could be either 'cause they're a small island. Shaun: Yeah, it could be, yeah. That's dope though. Shout out Curaçao Barry: Yep. Yeah. You wanna just live life and you know it all. Mm-hmm. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. And you truly don't see the the wrongness of that. Like you just don't get it. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Mm. I did not but that wasn't in their game this week. I just learned that fact. So I just thought that was a good one to throw out there. That was when they played Germany and got beat, but they became the smallest nation. And it does not say why or how they labeled them the smallest nation. No. Nope. You can't. Yep. No. Shaun: Mm, okay. Jen: Wow, yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Finally. Yeah. Barry: I hope. I hope I hear those words one day. That's all I pray is like, dang dad, you really were right on this. And I'm like, Yes. I nailed it. Finally got that justification. No, for sure. No, and that's what like my kids man, they're always like, Dad, you try and turn every day and like every conversation or every situation into like some type of life lesson. And I'm like, yo, I could be gone tomorrow and I'm trying to impart as much knowledge as I Shaun: Was that the one that Germany like ran up the score? It was like crazy. Okay. Barry: Yeah. Yeah. Unfortunately. But they did tie against Ecuador, which that is a pretty like it was a it was nil nil, zero zero, but they at least got a tie. So they got them a point. Egypt beat New Zealand. Yeah, there were a couple opportunities for both teams to score in that game. And they did not. ⁓ the Netherlands Mm. Netherlands whooped up on Sweden. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah, I'm not going to throw it in your face. I'm not going to say I told you so. But I'm glad that you're coming around and that you understand it now. ⁓ Jen: Yes. Yeah. Mm. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Which they had a couple wild moments. Mhm. Yeah. I think one was a big up off side upset, which was tough, but Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Mm. Mm-hmm. Barry: feel like I have to y'all. So I hope I can. And I you may not. It may not matter to you. Yeah, I'm just trying to prepare you for life. I'm just trying to tell you the things that I w not that I wish I would have heard, but I think younger me would have either I did hear it and I didn't appreciate it like we're talking about here. And now I'm like, damn, I really should have listened to that. Or it is the things that I've kind of wish I would have heard or somebody would have told me. I mean, it's I mean, but yo, it's just Jen: Yeah. And just trying to prepare. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: We watched this at at ⁓ at our house. ⁓ the Germany or not Germany yeah, Germany and Ivory Coast. Ivory Coast really outplayed Germany from most of that match until the what second half of the second half and Germany scored, I think, in in ⁓ extra stoppage time to win. So that was a pretty crazy, interesting game to watch. Shaun: Yeah. ⁓ yeah. Jen: Yes, that's what it was. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Hmm. Jen: Mm, mm-hmm. Shaun: Until the very end. Jen: Yeah. Uh-huh. Barry: Like me and my fourteen year old having this conversation. I'm like, yo, we're all tr trying to figure out life. Like I have never been a forty one year old parent I've never been this old. I've never been a parent to you at this age. I've never had a fourteen year old. I've never had a ten and a fourteen year old or eleven and a fourteen year old. So I'm trying to figure it out just like you are. And I I never heard that as a kid. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: Belgium has not done well and they're usually a really good soccer nation. They I think they've tied both games, so they are not looking that promising. ⁓ Spain came out and showed out against Saudi Arabia, though. They went they went out and put up 4-0. ⁓ today, I think you mentioned this earlier. I don't know if we were it was before we were getting ready or when we were getting going. But Argentina, ⁓ y'all Messi fans out there, he is now the single Jen: Hundred percent. Yeah Shaun: Mm. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. This is our first time living too. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, this is my first time being where I am. So like we all are, like and it's just hard to I don't know, I try and have those conversations. But I think, you know, to the to the moot or the documentary, I think as a parent you don't want to admit that, you know, maybe you did have a ⁓ an influence and like to my point, I don't necessarily think that we have as much influence as parents as we think we do. I think a lot of it is what we show in, you know, in our actions 'cause Shaun: Right? Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Barry: R ⁓ goal scoring holder. Yep. He holds the record ⁓ of all time at eighteen. A hat trick. Hat trick and two goals today. So first two games he's been showing out. What's your hot what's your bald take, Jen? Jen: Meetings for Shaun: Yeah, I saw that. Jen: Hot take. Shaun: He scored. Jen: Mm-hmm. I was gonna say my my bald take is Ronaldo still better. Barry: Ooh, that would be really I think it would yeah, I don't know, man. Jen: I know. Barry: Telling a kid what to do and showing ⁓ what to do are two totally different things. And it's hard to to tell ⁓ what you're you're showing what you're telling ⁓ all the time too. Jen: Stand by it. Stand by my statement. Barry: I don't know. Ronaldo's entertaining to watch, but I wouldn't Jen: Mm-hmm. Show them. Yeah. It's really hard because you have to do it. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah, I was about say, what makes Ronaldo better for you? And I get, so, and I think that's what makes it hard for me because I'm not a parent, which like, I can't speak to the being a parent and like wanting to basically kind of self preserve the fact that you weren't who you should have been for that child and now they're turning out this way. Jen: I think one, that's a difficult question for me because while I am a soccer fan, it is very, I was not a soccer fan like growing up. I didn't play soccer. It is very, I'm into soccer now because I married into a soccer obsessed per like I'm I married into that. He yes, like die hard, played it all through college. I mean, he's that's his thing. Barry: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Kenny had a lot of knowledge when we were chatting on Saturday. Like he does. I'll give him that. Like I learned some things. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah, he loves soccer. Yeah, it's crazy. But it's like those situations where like the dad, like there were parts where he got called into the school because she did different things to the teachers or to other people like in the school. Yeah. Like, like, did you do it? No. All right. Good enough for me. Like. That doesn't make any sense. Barry: Dude, I was thinking about that and she he just explained like the it they were wrong. They were the ones who caused this. She did nothing wrong. Jen: So I learned a lot and now I know a lot because it's like I'm in his orbit and that is his big thing. У ⁓ that made me want to throw things. Yeah. Barry: comes down to him playing for Manchester United, I think that's really all it is now that we're bringing up Kenny, 'cause I know that's his jam. No, bro. Yo, I have caught my children in many a lie, so why would I believe them? Yo, why? I give them the benefit of the doubt, but I'm also gonna question you and make sure that like like we've pressed like no. That was n yeah, that was a repeated thing, bro. Yeah. No, and yeah, to Jen's point, that is neglect, like it Jen: That's insane wild. No. it is. ⁓ my thing, because everybody says it's because the the really main difference is that ⁓ Messi has won a World Cup and Ronaldo has not. Cool. Okay. Well, I mean, Messi has won a lot Messi's more Ballon d'Or which are like the player the year kind of thing. Yeah. For soccer. Yeah. So he's won more. ⁓ But think when you break down Exactly. What? Yeah. Shaun: Yeah, like there's no way there are this many reports coming out. Barry: Think there's more though. Messi's done a lot of things that Ronaldo hasn't. Jen: Yeah. Especially because that was not like one time for her. Like that was a consistent thing. So what? Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. There were so many opportunities to prevent something like this from happening. Yeah. Barry: Mm. It's like the MVP of the yes, yes, yes, yes. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: It is not always physical or mental. It is sometimes just letting a kid do whatever the hell they want and that is neglectful 'cause you're not teaching them how to handle the real consequences and the and being accountable in the world as an adult. 'Cause once you get to eighteen it don't matter. Like it's on you at that point. So I and that's what it's that's my point to my kids, yo. I got I mean, I got my fourteen year old for four more years and she can do whatever she wants at that point. And so that's I mean, yo, and I don't know, like I know. Jen: Yeah, it's neglect, a hundred percent. Mm-hmm. Barry: Woke up Validor's what else does he have on him? Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Mm-mm-mm. Well, but Ronaldo has also won a lot of Ballon ⁓ It's just Messi's won more. But I think that was a ⁓ But I think if you ask real soccer fans, they'll say that that was a lot of political like kind of thing rather than skill. I think that Ronaldo's story, like if you've never heard his story. And not understand repercussions. Yeah. Shaun: Exactly. Barry: But a lot. We're talking about more. Who's done more? Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: You're in a little bit of a point. Jen: Ugh, that's that's wild that you just said that, but Barry: How many how many international World Cup goals does Ronaldo have? Shaun: He's like, think about me! Barry: It's crazy. Jen: ⁓ f look it up while I'm talking 'cause I couldn't tell you. If I text Kenny right now, he'd tell me. First of all. ⁓ they're really like similar. Ronaldo's I think like forty one or forty two, and I think he's like right there. I think they're like right there. Yes. Well, that's a big thing about the World Cup. This I know, right. Barry: It's and now I mean I don't I d it's I don't know, but it's I mean time just speeds up the older you get, you know? So four years ain't gonna be nothing, man. There'll be she'll be out of here and she's she's trying to get out of here, so she's trying to see the world. No, a hundred percent. No, and that's what I I told her. That's what I want. It's gonna hurt me. I'm gonna cry a lot. Like it's gonna hurt. But I want you to do I want you to wanna do that. Like that's what Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: ⁓ it's so scary. Barry: It ain't eighteen. It ain't eighteen. I know that. Shaun: How much older is Messi than Ronaldo? Yeah. Jen: Yeah, it really does. Mm mm. Barry: They're really close in age, yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Are they? Weren't we all like at that age we were all trying to get out we were all trying to get out do our own thing and live life yeah ⁓ okay. I thought Messi was like three or four years older than Barry: They're they are in the twilight of their career, but they're still both killing it. Jen: Yes, yes. Yeah, yeah. World Cup is because so many big names, this is like their last World Cup, likely. So it's ⁓ Yeah, there's a lot of players, not just Ronaldo and Messi, but there's a lot of players that this is probably their last one. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Figuring your life, it's not my life, it's your life. You figure it out. I want you to have the confidence and and and the ability to go make your choices. And ⁓ it's I just hope that I've done good enough that they want to come back and be my friend. That's really all I ever hope for. No, I mean that for real, bro. That is my ultimate goal that they like me as a person and they can look back. Yeah. Jen: Yeah, you want them to have the independence. Yeah. Barry: Probably. 'Cause it's every four years. So I mean by the time this comes back they'll be in their mid to late forties. Shaun: Mm. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Barry: All right, Jen, I want your guess on Ronaldo's World Cup goals. Shaun: Ha ha Jen: That's right. Literally. That's the ultimate goal. It really is. Yeah. That they still want to come hang out with me when they are older. Shaun: Awwww. How many does Messi have? He said eighteen? Jen: eighteen. But that's the thing. Barry: He scored five in the last two games, bro. Shaun: I'll say Ronaldo has nine. Jen: Argentina's has has has had really good teams, but I I was gonna say like ten. Shaun: See Barry: That they can still look back and appreciate me is like, all right, especially as they start to have those life lessons, like, you know, hopefully it does click and they're like, you know, dang, he was right or no, now he was a dumbass and I proved him wrong. So what a yeah, exactly. Or something, something. Hm. Yeah, they're both giving him too much credit. Eight. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Really? Hey Okay, I was one off. So is it is it the marketability of Ronaldo then? He's a very marketable person. Jen: Really? Okay. Okay. But he's like No, but he's but look at it but look at all of their stats next to each other. Like they're very even, I think, in my humble opinion. Again, I am not a s a s soccer diehard fan. I a lot of it is second hand luck. Mm-hmm. Or in those moments you they're thinking about you, yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah, that's fair. mean, I ⁓ think you're right. I think that's what all parents want is for kids to grow up, be successful, achieve all the things they want and then be like, hey, mom and dad, really appreciate you, like everything that you've done. Yeah, everything that you told me is really great. Barry: I don't think so, bro. They're both very marketable players. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: I hope. That's all I can hope for one day. So and I'm no, I don't even think it'll be everything because I know I'm wrong a lot. So I mean we screw up as parents, yo. I know that. So just I mean, like I said, that my my question is, did they die? Then now we good. They alright, they made it. Right? I hope I never hear that yes to that, because that would break my heart on so many levels. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Stand by your ball take. Stand by your ball take. Jen: But I am sp I still ten toes down, he's won more like championships with multiple different teams, whereas Messi, a lot of his fame and stuff comes from his specific run with Barcelona for so many years, where he got to be with one team, with one manager and like really grind that out. It's really difficult to win things like that when you are moving from different teams and different teams. But Ronaldo has done that with multiple different teams. He's won league championships with multiple different teams. So Yeah. ⁓ for sure. On the daily. Yeah. Then we're fine. We're out here. Shaun: everybody's wrong all the time but it's yeah everything is with a grain of salt it's not actually everything and then we're good Barry: He did play with Barcelona for a long time. Shaun: Man, yes. Amen. Jen: Mm, mm. Barry: But nah, that move that documentary was just I mean, two so crazy and they were females, but no the two crazy documentaries. Jen: Wild. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. You keep circling on that point, Barry. How's it go? We have to take this offline. It must be his bald take for the episode. Shaun: So is this the Jordan Bron debate debate of soccer? It sound almost identical. Yeah. That's his ball take, mean, he's sticking with it. Barry: Very much. Very much and both at goat levels. Like this isn't just like nowadays, this is like all time like for the history of soccer goats. And yes, very, very similar. Very easy comparison there. Jen: very similar. Very similar. Yes, it really is. Barry: ⁓ I do really believe that though. I do let I do think a lot of and I don't say a lot, there are some females that let that cloud their judgment. I do stick by that. I will. But at the same time, to ⁓ to to to counter that point, men I I don't want to speak in generalities, I know myself as a man, I am very logical and I've trying to remove all emotion and that cannot be the best choice at some times as well. Shaun: He's going back to it. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. For sure. There also are a lot of men that do that. Yeah. I mean it's a little different because of like Jordan and LeBron being in separate yeah, like separate yes. But but the level of intensity of fandoms in arguing over who is who when really they have a lot of similarities, like it's very close kind of things. But I still stand ten does down for Ronaldo. Shaun: ⁓ ages and yeah completely different yeah eras of the sport. Barry: Yeah, generations. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. But I and not to toot your horn because you do it enough for yourself and you go. But that is a you thing. You are a level-headed, logical person. Yes, but exactly. You're emotionally intelligent. That has nothing to do with you being a man. That has everything to do with you as a human working on learning. Shaun: Yeah. ⁓ god, here we go. Barry: I mean I mean Yeah. I think Renato fans would say it's very close, but the stats numbers don't lie. Told you I'm emotionally intelligent. Jen: You're wild. Okay, I feel like next time I need to come with all of the notes. So let me have a deep dive conversation with my this is gonna help my marriage, y'all. We're gonna have so much time. He's gonna be so happy. Yeah, he's gonna give me a full rundown. That's so funny. Shaun: ⁓ my god. Here we go. Jen: Yes, exactly. You're emotionally intelligent. ⁓ That has nothing to do with you being a man. Shaun: Here we go. Here we go. Barry: You just gonna go to Kenny. If you wanna cheat, you can go ahead and ask Kenny why is Ronaldo better here? He'll help you. Shaun: You've got homework now. ⁓ my goodness. Well, this is good. It's- Barry: No. Jen: Growing as a human, learning the lessons you need to learn and learning how to control your emotions. Has nothing to do with you being a man. Barry: But I I'm not even trying to like talk crap, but ha like what is Portugal I didn't even see what they've done. I know they're in it. I don't know if I agree with that, but okay. I I do appreciate the l the nice words for sure. You did. I d I I mean I'm not the best at taking those either, so but no, I do appreciate it. No, for sure. Jen: Honestly, they haven't they are. They ⁓ I don't think they've done too, too hot. I think they might have won Shaun: Barry, take the win, dog. Take the win. Yeah, take the win. Jen: That's fine. I gave you a compliment, all right? Take the compliment and go. It's so funny. Barry: Hm. 'Cause they don't play again until tomorrow. Shaun: ⁓ man. So what I'm hearing, Barry, is that the emotional side is what make women want to go into the woods with a bear instead of a man. Is that what it is? Jen: Yeah. And that's I mean that is ⁓ do they? ⁓ Yeah, it'd be really cool to go, but the tickets are absolutely insane. But Barry: But they actually play in Houston. That's cool. They're playing in Houston at NRG or whatever it's named now. Yeah, the tickets are insane. Unless you got the lottery and even then they're crazy. I I a hundred percent. A hundred percent. Jen: Maybe talk to your men about the crazy things they keep doing to women and maybe we won't pick the man or the bear. Shaun: Yeah, Barry, talk to your man, dude. Barry: I again I told you Becca be watching the good ideas, not to to learn. I gotta be the one to watch and learn. Jen: I mean, still so sad because this probably is their last World Cup. So we wouldn't we're most likely not gonna see them. But I do think we're gonna make a full trip plan to do a family vacation in Spain next year, cause or next World Cup. Uh-huh. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So that'll be fun. But yes, still stand ten toes down for Ronaldo. Shaun: Talk to your men out there, Barry. Barry: No. Jen: Listen. Barry: No. No, you I mean, I don't know. I do I just I think men tend to be more logical in their decision making. Well, Ken was talking about the twenty thirty. Yeah, 'cause it's in Portugal, Morocco and I forget the third country, somewhere over there. Shaun: That we dope. Yeah it's Jen: I think logical is the incorrect word. Barry: What do you think it is? Uh-huh. other interesting Uruguay and ⁓ Cape Verde. They ended in a two two draw. Cape Verde can actually make it out of the group stage with a potential win. So that's a smaller nation that could potentially get out of it. ⁓ the group into the knockout. ⁓ Norway and Senegal actually just finished. that was actually a really good game. Senegal made it a game in the end. Jen: I think that men see, I feel like we're gonna go down a deep dark tunnel tunnel. This this episode's gonna turn into like a three hour special at this point. We need a therapist as our next guest. But I do, I mean, I really do think it's there are some there are some biological things. I disclaimer, I am not a scientist. I did go to college. Barry: I mean we can always cut it if it's not worth it. Shaun: Do we need to get a therapist on? Jen: Dun dun dun. Shaun: Nice. Barry: Let's find one. Let's get ⁓ on. Let's see what's up. No I'm joking. ⁓ Norway was up two ⁓ Senegal scored within like fifty or sixtieth minutes somewhere in there. Norway came back pretty quick and went up three one, but then in stoppage, Senegal scored with like five minutes left in the game, but they weren't able to tie it up. So it was actually pretty good. Jen: I did not degree in anything medically. I don't have a psychology degree. I sure don't. So I don't know how the brain works. But I will say I do think there are some very major biological differences of ⁓ being born a male versus being born a female. There are certain things chemically, biologically, that are just different. And I think especially it like Barry: Do you have a psychology degree? Okay. I was just curious. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Ooh. Spicy. Shaun: Norway's one of those countries where I I wouldn't think sports with a country like Norway. Barry: Well they have that real good what's his name? Howland Haaland He's a yeah, he's ⁓ like a tall dude with a man bun. Yeah, he came out and showed out his f but this is the first time Norway's actually made the World Cup in twenty eight years. They haven't made it since nineteen ninety eight. And I tonight with their win they actually are guaranteed to make it down to the knockout. But so they have their superstar who's who's kind of showed up showed out. Jen: Haaland? He's super tall, blonde hair. Yeah. Okay, I know what you're talking about. in relationships and things like that, even just with Kenny and I, we say it all the time. This it's like our weird Switzerland move is our brains just think differently. Like we just think differently. Because but I think it's like women I yes, I think women process things very differently than men do. I think men tend to be way more detached from situations. Shaun: ⁓ dang. Okay. Dang. Barry: And I would agree with that. And this is that's kinda I guess where I would agree with you 'cause this is that's what I see it as. It's just a different way of processing. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Hey, go Norway. Shaun: ⁓ that's awesome though. Yeah. Barry: So pretty good stuff. ⁓ trying to think anything else. We mentioned ⁓ Messi surpassing ⁓ Klose from Germany. Yes, I would agree with that. Jen: Than women do. Women tend to overanalyze and attach to things way more. But no, we're not. No, we're not. Because they tend to overanalyze things because again, I think of I think there's a million different factors. I think some of it is biological because you have that maternal instinct. You have those things already in you as a woman. Maternal instinct. But but women do have those natural like. Shaun: Mmm. Jen: That is a very cool thing though for Messi and his fans and stuff. Super cool. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: I would agree with that. C Jen, we're saying the same thing, bro. I would agree with both those statements. Mm-hmm. Yeah, for sure. I mean, to do f five goals in two games is nuts. Yeah. But ⁓ Mbappe from France, he's at I think 16. So he's he could potentially break because he's young. He's like in his thirties, I think. So he could potentially break Messi's record because he's not far behind at all. So it may not stand that long. But he's a really good footballer, bro. I don't know, is where's he now PSG? Shaun: Yeah. That's ridiculous, yeah. Jen: Ooh. Shaun: ⁓ really? Jen: He's good. Yeah. Yeah. He's got some years. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. maternal things that are already there, whether they're a mother or not. And then they, you know, heighten if you do end up becoming a mother. But there are just those biological things that are naturally there. And then I think as society, as you grow up as a woman in society, there's different pressures and things and that are also influencing you to do certain things or to be a certain way or to make sure to and things like that. So I do think women, it's not necessarily that they're emotional. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm. Shaun: Don't ask me. Barry: I forget. I feel like he just transferred recently or if it not, I think he's about to transfer again. Jen: Yes. I I was about to say he was, but I don't know if he's still there. Barry: But speaking of the World Cup and kind of with our whole vibe in the weekend, like I say, bro, everything was so awesome this weekend. Have y'all seen all the awesome socials that the foreigners and the Europeaners are posting? Jen: It's that they are trying to either they're trying to or they just naturally do overanalyze. They attach way quicker. They just really, and I'm not saying logical because sometimes it's very not logical at all. It is way overanalyzing and going. It's not emotion. Emotion and overanalyzing are not the same thing. Okay. They're not the same thing. Yes. Shaun: I saw one today. This dude from I think it was Australia. He was so hype over Popeye's ⁓ yeah. ⁓ went, ⁓ went to Popeye's ⁓ and was like, man, like you get two pieces of chicken. You can get it kind of spicy. You get chip. He called them chips. They're fries. But he was like, you get chips. ⁓ And called it the best coleslaw he's ever had in his life. It was wild. Barry: Popeye's, bro, that was what got him hype. Jen: ⁓ Barry: It's emotionally driven. Okay. ⁓ I think Shaun's calling it. I think he's Shaun: All right, I'm. Barry: Well, yeah, chips and their li yes. Jen: Yes. Shaun: I'm gonna call it because y'all are about to... Y'all are gonna get into it. Jen: I I fair warned before I started talking that this was gonna turn into a three hour special. You told me to go for it. How's it go? Our brains work differently. That's our Switzerland. That's so funny. Shaun: He was like, all this for six dollars? Man. So yeah, I saw like that one. I've seen Whataburger, Terry Blacks, and Austin. Yeah. I don't know. Barry: No, that's it's all good. Agree to disagree, no. Jen: That's so funny. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. The barbecue. Barry: Our brains do work differently. I would agree, for sure. Shaun: Your brains work differently. It's okay. Men and women think differently. Everyone is entitled to their own decision. All people think differently. You are your own person. You can think and feel however it is you want to think and feel. That's okay. Yes. Barry: Bro, I'm trying to send y'all this one from the dude. Have you seen the the French dude? All people think differently. All people do. Doesn't matter. Jen: Mm-hmm. A hundred percent. Are you sending it? Barry: No. Yeah, I'm sending a group chat. I want try and pull it up if you can, Jen. Everybody's entitled to ⁓ to their emotions, that's a fact. Everybody is entitled to their emotions. Some of ⁓ just stick to them more. Jen: Okay. Barry: No, hold on, it's this one then. It's the last one. Yes. The last one I sent you, the dude with the tie and the air pod in his ear. Dude, this dude is hilarious, bro. I feel like I heard him on the radio, like them talking about him on the radio, and I he made me like it made me crack up how he was talking. Jen: to their own mm, mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Okay, well anyway, speaking of things that we want to do before we die, one of the things that we, right? How do I get out of here? How do I get out of this conversation right now? Yes, everybody's good, we know. Jen: Right. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: What a transition. He said, I gotta wrap this up. Yeah. I swear we're still gonna be friends after this podcast, everyone. Barry: Jen's are technical savant. But no bro, it it's been awesome to see and hear that people coming into the country are really like taking and seeing the good sides of our country. So I mean, things are getting dicey. Jen was making some crazy faces over there. Now we are. We do we are, for sure. I have zero doubt on that. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: So speaking of things that are on our bucket list, one of the things that we learned in episode number three, if you haven't watched it, go back and watch episode number three, it's a great one. But one of the things that we did all, clip it, one of the things that we did all discover is that we want to go to Japan and that's gonna be something that we will eventually do as a group, as a pod. We're gonna go to Japan, we're gonna have a really good time. Yes, it will happen. Yeah. I mean, on the other side of it, they can't handle the heat. The heat is getting to You thought we were playing around about this heat over here. Yeah. Especially in this is light work. This is freaking June. Wait until August. It's been very hot. Barry: But I mean, you if you ain't born and raised here, you probably can't, bro. Takes a while to to acclimate, man. Jen: Mm. Mm-hmm. Clip it. Barry: Yeah. This year has been actually very, very enjoyable. Yes. But it is starting to heat up in late June. No la. We have gotten a lot of rain, but the humidity has been a little Yes, I like it. We will eventually do it, Shaun. Faux show. Jen: For sure. Speak it into existence. Manifest. Shaun: But we're getting a lot of water. So that's been nice. A lot of rain. So speaking of some other things that we do want to do on the pod, let's talk about some of our bucket list guests that we would love to have on the pod. And what we're gonna do is each of us are gonna present two or three people that we would like to have come onto the pod and tell us why you want those people to come onto the pod. So Jen, you're up first. Who would you have on your bucket list? Humidity's been super high, yeah. That's what I told somebody last week, I like, I feel like I'm back home in East Texas because you walk outside over there and you're instantly sweating from the humidity. And it's been like that over here now, so Jen: Intense. Yeah. It's been sticky. Barry: A little intense, but but not yeah. Hmm. For real. ⁓ yeah. Yeah. Bro, it's like eighty degrees in the morning when I take my oldest to her strength and conditioning camp, man. I just open my garage and work out and I'm dying. Shaun: It's ridiculous. Jen: Okay, are we just doing one each or do I run through them all? What do you think? Okay, I like it. I like it. Okay. This comes as absolutely no shot. I'm doing a full send with Taylor Swift. Yeah. Shaun: We can do... let's do one each. Let's do one each. That'll be fair. That'll be fun. Jen: Okay, hold on, I got it pulled up. Let me share. Barry: I like that. I like one each. Alright, here he comes. Y'all got y'all if y'all haven't heard him, this dude is awesome. Shaun: Got it. ⁓ god. Barry: ⁓ my gosh. I bet you I can guess, I was gonna say. I already knew Tay Tay was on it. We should have asked if we wanted to guess, like real quick, 'cause I feel like I could have got that one. He does multiple. Shaun: I was like, Taylor Swift, this is gonna be the first one that she says. Jen: I no yeah. We should have. You probably would have gotten it. But she was never not gonna be the first one, obviously. Barry: We can't hear it. Jen: I know. Shaun: That's true. Y'all won't get any of mine, so we can't do that. It's muted. Take the mute off in the corner. Barry: I would have definitely gotten that one. I know that. yeah. As soon as Shaun said the words, I already knew. Tay Tay Tay. Jen: What were we saying about technical savant? Barry: Like I said, y'all, she's a technical savant. She's a technical savant. Shaun: Right. This this is our producer. Applications are open if you want to apply. Yeah, including. ⁓ man. ⁓ hold on. What we are HR call. Exactly. Yeah, Taylor Swift is coming out. All right, what do you want Taylor on? Jen: Listen. You real rude for that. That's wild. Applications are open. Hashtag hostile work environment. I'm calling HR right now. Okay. I know. Calling you. Okay, shh. She doesn't do these, but huh? Why? Sh yeah, exactly. Exactly. Which I'm in full support of. Barry: She does, only her boyfriend or fiancees. So we just gotta get in it we gotta get in in with Travvy. Shaun: What do you want to to everyone? Barry: Clip it bro. Watch out, clip it. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: So maybe that's the the dream guest is to get in with the Kelce's first and then we can see. Barry: ⁓ I'm gonna say you better c you you better make your complaint known right now. Yo, I almost I I s I could have taken a picture with him at the not Travis, Jason at the Masters. There was like ten people. I'm not contrary to my lie from episode one, I am not one of those people that approaches like celebrities or famous people, like when I see them. I just if I was that person I would not want people coming up to me. So I just don't like if I was in an elevator, like in a close space and it was just like somehow I lucked out. Shaun: I'll be done with it. You could have taken a picture with anybody. You could have taken a picture with Alan Iverson. ⁓ Jen: And you didn't? Mm-hmm. Shaun: That's fair. I don't think I would either. Jen: Yeah, same. Yeah. Yeah. If it happened naturally somehow. Yeah. Barry: Yes, maybe I'd be like, yo, you know, I don't and that's what I don't even know what I would I don't even know if I would know what to say. So it's kind of Shaun: Yeah. I'm probably going and dap them up. I'm going like, hey dude, I like what you do. Keep it on or something like that. I might do that. Jen: Yeah. Yeah, like, hey, ⁓ you're kind of amazing. Barry: Yeah, I mean maybe something like that. Yeah, maybe. And that's what I'm like I don't even know if I would 'cause I still feel like it would be real awkward. Unless they started the combo, like that would probably be the only way I might talk to somebody. Shaun: Yeah, I don't know. Jen: No. Shaun: I mean, you don't have to linger, Barry. Like, you can just go like, dump them up and be like, hey, what's up? Good to see you. Just keep pushing. Jen: Yeah. Like when you go to the grocery store and you see somebody you know, like it's ⁓ hey, how are ya? Nice, see you later. Well, that makes a lot of sense then. That tracks. Barry: That's the No, I avoid people no, I'm joking. I turn around and walk the other way. Shaun: That is a while going grocery stores. All right. So Jen's number one was Taylor Berry. Who's your number one? Or are we are we going to guess? Barry: My number one ⁓ yeah, yeah, take a guess. Jen: okay. Yeah. Shaun: Okay, give us something that would lead us down the path. Barry: Who okay, so for this person I'm trying to think what would be Give it away, I feel. He is one of mine, but that's not the one I was gonna lead with. But yes, I would like to have Jayson Tatum, but he doesn't do podcasts that much either, so no, that's just purely Celtic pride right there, bro. Shaun: Jayson Tatum. Okay, not this one. Okay. Jen: Spoiler alert. Shaun: Okay, so who's this person? tell us. Barry: I so ⁓ T would be for sure one of ⁓ my other one would be my favorite artist, rapper, Hova, Jay Z, Jigga. Jen: Yeah, this is it. Hehehehe ⁓ Shaun: ⁓ okay. Jen: Okay, okay. Shaun: Alright, yeah, that'd be a tough sell, but that would be dope. Barry: I mean if we dream of big bro, never know. That would be a ti I don't really get it. I mean, he's not even bald or anything. He's got a lot of hair for a fifty something year old man. So I don't know. Jen: Can get down with that one. Yeah. He Shaun: He's also got the queen on his arm too, so I mean, that's gonna be a tough one. Jen: Yes, mm-hmm. Barry: He does got bay on his arm too. I mean, is that another one of yours, Jen? I feel like that might be on the list. Jen: I was literally gonna say it was if I had a strategy with my list and it had to be one or the other. So I picked Tay, but I I know I know I know I know don't come for me because I'm I'm she's still my queen. She she was my ⁓ number two. But she w she didn't make my list because I had a strategy and I'll explain my strategy in a minute. Barry: Way more than the rest of the world, bro. Yeah, that was good, man. But bro, have you heard that they have literally been having to tell these people flying back to their countries that they cannot take ranch in their carry on, bro? No. They've literally been having the TSA has been having to put out announcements and signs at airports as they come in, so they put it in their check bag, bro. But nah, that was funny, man. Jen: Ha ha ha. Barry: ⁓ she picked Hey over Bey. Watch out, Queen Bees. Watch out, bro. Don't come for Jen in the chat. For real. Shaun: Over B? The beehive's coming for you. Jen: ⁓ Lord. That was good. Shaun: ⁓ I'll guess. Jen: Can't pack ranch. Barry: She is a big she's a big fan. Shaun: I did see that. You can't put it in your carry-on. You have to put it in your checked bag. Gosh. That's hilarious. Well, just proves we take things for granted, dog. Like we just take so much for granted. Yeah. Like, how can you have a drink without ice in it? That's that's wild. Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. big Taylor fan. Jen: Yeah. Just put it in the check bag. Barry: Mm, okay. Sorry. I threw you off. So y'all got two of mine. Shaun: Okay. Man. All right, so we got two of yours. had Jay-Z and Jay-T. Noticing a theme already. ⁓ For mine, I'm not gonna lie. My first one, completely selfish for all selfish reasons. You all would never, you will never guess who it is. Never. Who do you think it is though? Who do you think it is? Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Barry: Drew. I mean, for right. You grew up with it, you're like, What? It's ranch, man. You can get it wherever. Jen: Yeah. Barry: I'm breaking the theme with the third one. ⁓ but that's what they yo in France they don't, bro. No. No. And like he was saying, like tips are insulting there. Like like people get paid. I mean, it's kind of a double edged sword because people get paid a gener a good wage there, so the tips don't aren't needed. Like the reverse here, like you gotta have tips as a waitress or you ain't making it. So Jen: ⁓ They don't. A lot of places in Europe they don't serve ice at all. An AC, like central AC is not a thing. Tips are insulting. Yeah. I think I know. Okay. Then never mind. I thought you were gonna say J. Cole 'cause of your comment last time. Barry: ⁓ it's not who we mentioned last time. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: That's who Shaun: No, he is on the list of course, but no. You would literally never get this. I'll even give you, I'll give you a couple of big hints. Actress. Jen: A living wage. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Ayy Barry: Yeah. Personal. Jen: Okay, then Shaun: Mm-hmm. ⁓ Jen: Yeah. Barry: But now it was good to hear that, you know, people are having those positive experiences. There was like a British dude, I saw some Japanese dude trying to Texas barbecue and he let he let out some some choice words in a good way, but yeah, but nah, there's been some funny ones, man. Some good stuff. So I thought that was good. Jen: Okay. Okay. Catherine Zeta- Jones. I don't know. Yeah. Shaun: How can I say? I mean, not that far off. Salma Hayek. ⁓ my God. That woman is so gorgeous. Like purely, purely selfish reasons. Yeah, she's almost 60. Gorgeous. Love the accents. Like she, she's a great actress. Really dope person. Yes. Jen: They're so funny. Okay, okay. ⁓ yes. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And she is like in her late fifties. Like she's but she is mm-hmm. She's bored. Barry: Actress. yeah, that's a good one. Salma Kayak, yeah, that would be cool. She has a very pr very attractive age is like fine wine, bro. Yeah. And just yeah, she takes care of herself. Yeah. But she also seems like a cool person, boo or from what I've seen in like interviews and stuff. Yeah. Yeah. So she seems to like be a good guest to chat about, see what's going on. Shaun: Yeah. He was on that beef rib, man. Man. I mean it just goes to show like yeah, we we get bogged down in like all of the the difficulties of living here, but we we really do forget how well we have it compared to other places. So, yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm. Mm-hmm. She does seem like a very humble, like yeah person. Barry: Yeah, you ain't wrong. Jen: It's because it's the people. Like 90% of the everything that came from people's Joy at the World Cup is the people. It's the people running the barbecue places and making great food. It's the everything. It's not all of the other craziness that's happening right now that what the world mostly sees. Yeah. Like what people see. So when they get to come here and see, like not everybody in America is wild like that. Shaun: She seems like a really cool person just to talk to. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. She did an intro at one of the World Cup games. Yes. I can't remember which one it was, but I did because I was like, is that tamahayek? What's happening here? Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: Oh, for real? I didn't even know that. Hm. Shaun: Really? Barry: Yeah, everything that's out in the media, yeah. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Man, yeah, so number one, that. Oof, would love to have that. So Jen, who's your next one? Yeah. Barry: Interesting. Jen: I love that. Barry: That's a good one. Jen: And we're really cool people and like we are just people trying to make good food and live and have fun and be kind. Yeah. Yeah. It's nice. made his heart his heart pitter patter. Okay. So my strategy for this, number one, was going to be truly like anybody that I could talk to on a podcast, who would I want it to be? So that was obviously ended up being Taylor. But I do think I didn't expect you, any either of you honestly, to come with any women. So one, I was like, all right, women focused. I know I that's so rude of me. And I truly apologize. Shaun: Not everybody. Barry: Just do art, yep, make it. Mm-hmm. For sure. Shaun: Yeah. I mean that's the beauty of like being able to have like sports and music and movies and food, like that it brings people together, like it transcends language and barriers of all kinds. Yeah. Yeah. Like nine white people and one black dude with fried chicken, watermelon, collard greens. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Doesn't matter. Barry: So that's why it's split between and Tay. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. A hundred percent. Yeah. Exactly. Barry: Yeah. I mean the cookout, bro. This is what we did. Right transcended the racial barriers, bro. I love it. Bo, it was gonna be two, but our friend backed out. Come on. We tried to get the ratio better. We tried, man. We tried to have a higher ratio. Mm. Shaun: DARE YOU! Barry: No, you got it with me. I w I don't have any women on my list. Jen: Okay. It was supposed to be to Yeah, how dare she? We're not gonna call her out. We're not gonna put her on the internet, but See, I was picking up berries by then. Okay. But so all of my all of my picks are women, but I did have a strategy. One was top person, dream who would it be? But two was I wanted because it's sports focused around here, I wanted to find ⁓ and pull in some women athletes because they don't don't get as much light as the men. so I said Caitlin Clark as my number two. Yeah. Shaun: They're too emotional for Barry. Barry: Too emotional. No, I'm joking. Shaun: By half, by by half a person. That's crazy. ⁓ man. All right. Well, I mean, we were just talking about how we can bring people together and how we take things for granted. But we do have some people from America that put out a pretty weird image of who we are. Love Island. I I I I I can't. I have a confession to make. Barry: I I we Jen: ⁓ yikes, we gotta stop before we get in trouble. Barry: Ooh. Caitlin Clark. Shaun: Okay. Barry: ⁓ okay. Shaun: for Barry: You're gonna get us divided out here, bro. It's either Caitlin Clark or Angel Reese out here, I guess. Jen: I feel like that would be so good. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Oof. Shaun: What do mean? ⁓ Angel. Bayou Barbie can go somewhere. I know what I'm about Angel Reese at this point. That's her, that's her nickname. Like she can go somewhere. Like she'll, see all them bricks she be laying up when she be shooting. Like dog, she shoots off of the wrong foot. It's crazy. Jen: ⁓ you better cut it out. Yeah, you better cut it out. No ⁓ my god! Bayou Barbie is wild. Barry: Bro. Okay, Shaun, so be honest, how how many episodes did you have you even watched, bro? Tell us your confessions. No. D Shaun: I have I have a confession. I I've I finally finished episode one. I I told you all I was gonna try. I finally finished episode one. I got like ten minutes into episode two and I couldn't do it anymore. I I can't. I I just I can't do it. Jen: Tell us your confession, Shaun. Barry: That that is her nickname. Jen: I've never heard that, but that is wild. Barry: ⁓ big time. Big time, bro. Jen: You okay, okay, okay. Barry: Yo, her her stats be padding, bro. Stats be padded, bro. She out there getting ten rebounds on one shot. Jen: Yeah. Barry: Yeah, bro. It's I th I think Jen's recommendation of just fast forwarding through it, most of it is the way to go. Jen: No. Shaun: Yeah, me bounds. Like if a term is coined, me bounds because you add the stats so heavily That's wild. All right, so we got Caitlin Clark, Barry. You said your next one was JT, right? Or that was one of your other ones? Okay. Well, my next one ⁓ is J. Cole. I mean, we mentioned that a little bit ago. J. Cole by a long shot. Jen: Yikes. Barry: Me bounds. Jen: Yes. You you literally hold the remote in your hand and just I mean our remote does a little like ten second jump, just like click, click, click, click. ⁓ you're talking and it doesn't make any sense. Click, click, click, click, click. Hmm. Okay. Shaun: Yeah, I don't know. Barry: Because of you. Jen: Yeah. Barry: ⁓ now mine does like the slow, medium, fast. Yeah. Yeah, I do like slow a little slow and I'm like, ⁓ it changed. Let me hear what they're talking about. And if it ain't anything I care, then I'll just keep going on to the next one. Shaun: All right. Barry: Yeah, yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And it's so funny too. I was thinking about it as I was watching an episode yesterday of like I get so invested because I'm like, these people are crazy. Like, what? I don't think I acted like that when I was 24. I mean, maybe I did, I don't know. But like these people be saying some crazy things. Yes. But then I'm like, okay, but if if they didn't do crazy things, you wouldn't be watching the show because it would be boring. So like, do you want Ayy. Shaun: is one of my favorite artists, listens to his music all the time. had Jen, I had you and another one of our friends. I had to convince y'all to listen to that album multiple times so that you could make it to it. I'm like, that's a great album. Barry, come on, dog. It's such a good album. It's one of the ones you have to listen to. can't just play it. You have to actually listen to it. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: well Shaun: No. Barry: They do. Jen: You shouldn't have to convince. Barry: I still haven't gone back, bro. I know, I need to. And no, I Okay. You wouldn't want. Jen: It was really good. Shaun: There wouldn't be a show. Yeah. Jen: Wouldn't you rather them come in and be spicy and crazy and, you know, all the thing? That's what I some balance. It is good. And you yeah, you have to sit and focus. Yes. Cause the first listen I did at the gym and I didn't pick up on so much that was there until the second listen when I was literally driving in a car and I was like actually listening. I was like, ⁓ my God. Yeah. Barry: So here's my take on the whole thing. And I say this to Becca with I mean some, but every year that this or I don't even say year or whatever, however often the show, whatever. Yo, it's just the most messed up social experiment that people sign up to go through, bro. Like it's literally just taking the dating process and speeding it up on days instead of weeks and months, and people go through the same range of emotions that they would on a monthly or yearly level. Shaun: There's gotta be some kind of balance though. Barry: Okay. Jen: Every summer. Shaun: Yeah. So he would for sure be on my list ⁓ about emotional intelligence, like being able to be emotionally, ⁓ intelligent in the middle of a beef and be like, hey, this isn't right. I'm stepping out of it. A of people fought him for that. I give him his kudos because that's what ⁓ everyone is for you to continue to add fuel to that fire. And he was like, no, this isn't it. Like we're supposed to be boys. So you all do what you want to do. But ⁓ like doesn't sit right with me. Barry: Okay. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. For our entertainment. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: In days time. Like Jen: Mm. Shaun: But nobody's actually going on there to look for love. They're not going on there looking for love. Jen: Yeah. ⁓ for sure. I think that's the main thing that exactly. Yeah, I feel like some people are delusional delusional enough to think that they will find love on there. I do think some people do think they're gonna find love on there. But most of the time, especially in Love Island, USA, because I don't know if y'all know this, but it didn't start in USA. It started in the UK. Mm-hmm. Yes. And they're on like season 40 something. Like they, it's been there for a minute. Barry: Well no, they're trying to get famous, but still they gotta play the part. So Jen: ⁓ Barry: Yeah. Shaun: So I'll for sure have him on my list. So Jen, who's your next one? Who's your number three? Barry: Bro, I mean for sure. I've seen some cray cray people in the last seasons. Yeah. Jen: Okay, my number three, still a woman. The strategy for this one was wear a podcast. A great way to expand your podcast is to do some sort of collab with another podcaster. Okay. So for this one, I'm stealing a Shaun move. It's actually there, there's three options. So but ⁓ I just gotta put them out there. I know I didn't, but Barry: No, this UK was the first one, right? Yeah. But there's like all different versions. ⁓ dang, I know that long. Okay. Shaun: God. Barry: Okay. Shaun: Okay. Jen: Yes. Which you should go watch that too, because it's great. But you're a little behind, but but Casa Amor' All hell. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Zero percent chance. I I can't even watch this. I I literally couldn't do it Barry: Big fat zero. Shaun: What? Barry: Y'all did not follow the rules at all. I'm about to get to the point that I get to every time I try and watch it and that's the Casa Amor' 'cause then it just goes to like ⁓ sloppy craziness, bro. No. ⁓ Shaun: First of all, how did I get put into stealing? Like, why is that a Shaun move? Jen: Be because you s because you said that you had two and one. Barry: You've told us there's two for one. Okay. ⁓ he's so we're assuming, Jen, we are assuming we know what he's talking about. Shaun: See, I even know what that is. I don't even know what that means. I mean, I know that means house of love, but or love house. I'll explain it once we get there, but okay. Yeah. Jen: So, Shaun, let me break it down for you. Okay, this is my moment. So, in Love Island, in Love Island, as you've seen since you finally finished episode one, so proud. these people come in. So there's usually about six girls, six guys, they couple up and they start exploring. And every now and then, like a new one comes in, and then somebody gets voted off. That's kind of the premise. Yes, they're called bombshells. Well, about halfway through the summer, do something called casa amor. Okay. So I'm thinking female podcasters that are really big right now. First one is Keke Palmer. That girl is great. ⁓ her down. Love her so much. ⁓ so she was my first one. ⁓ bringing it back home to Taylorverse ⁓ Kylie Kelce because she's got ⁓ not gonna lie. ⁓ haven't heard her podcast? Barry: She's got it. Shaun: Love that. Barry: Mm. She's got a lot of good energy, yeah, for sure. Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. ⁓ yeah. Barry: They're called bombshells, bro. Shaun: I have no idea who that is. Barry: I was gonna say I have no clue. I mean, okay. Jen: Which is where they send all of the boys to a completely separate villa in Fiji and they bring in an entire new lineup of girls for them to explore for the next week. And they're there at Casa Amor' for a week. Mm-hmm. Yes. The Explore is there. Yes. yes. They record everything. I don't know if you've seen some of the recent episodes. ⁓ not since you've only got, but Guys, I'm gonna need you to go watch it because it's great. And then last one who is just a would be a dream. And she recently has a podcast is Michelle Obama. Barry: Acting a fool. Bro, but the crazy thing is, they record the whole shit. Jen: Those are my those are mine. I would be concerned if you didn't. Shaun: Yeah. Definitely know who that is. Okay. So we got a choice of three out of Jen's list. So instead of coming with three, she came with five, technically six because she had to debate between Taylor and Beyonce. I mean, that's true. All right, Barry, who's your third? Gosh. No. Jen: Mm, mm, mm. People will be doing all of the things on T V. Barry: Bruh Jen: You're welcome. Shaun: So even okay. So with that, even before getting to Casa Lamor or anything like that. Barry: She could have had she could have had Bey. Jen: Taylor and Beyonce. Bey you're still on the list. Barry: Casa Lamo no Casa Amor, like house of love, bro. House of love. House of love. Just say that. Just say house of love. You can say that. There you go. Okay, there we go. So we're at six now. I'm gonna stick I'm the only one that stuck to the original rules. Jen: Like a more ⁓ Shaun: Casa Amor, whatever. Amor. Casa House of Love. Okay. Casa. Casa. House of Love. Before they even get to the House of Love. Episode number one. They're like making out all sloppy and like tongue and stuff. That's not true, first of all. Stop putting me in the same category as Jen. I don't know what's happening right now. Losing control of this. Jen: The plug. Barry: Now it's funny you ended with the one you ended with, Jen, 'cause I was gonna say Barack. Jen: Right, it's spiraling really quickly. Barry: ⁓ that's the grossest part of it, but I kind of think we were talking about Saturday, bro. They to get tested for mono on a daily, bro. All the things. They have to, I hope. Jen: ⁓ yeah, it really is. Shaun: Okay. So can I just like Barry: I like I really would just like to chop it up with that dude. He seems like such a down to earth and cool. Barack Obama said it was funny that you ended the way you ended. Jen: have to. Love violin producers, please reach out to us because we are so curious. Please tell us if you test for just confirm. Shaun: That's disgusting. I was like Jen: Oop, I missed it. Shaun: BLEH Barry: Please let us know. I hope. Please just confirm because if y'all have anything besides a confirmation, I probably really don't want to hear it because that's disgusting. Shaun: All right. Jen: That's perfect. Shaun: You know what makes it even more funny? My two for one is Michelle and Barack. That was my two for one. That was my two for one. That's what it's like. I have a two for one, but I want them both together because I think that that belongs together. Yeah. So I think that has to happen. We have to make that happen in some kind of way. I think that that would just be absolutely incredible to. Yes. Barry: Shut the front door, bro. That's bonkers, y'all. This was not planned. This was not planned in any way, shape, or form. That's crazy. Yo. Sympatico, y'all. We are Sympatico, bro. Jen: That's so funny. Okay, so that has to be on our official list. This was not planned. Just drop an emoji in our chat if you do actually test yes. A check. We're done. We're good. Barry: Geez dude, just a thumbs up. Just give us a thumbs up. Like a test, a check, like the tech emojis, something. Please let us know that they are not out here passing around diseases on live T V. Shaun: What kind of testing happens there? Yeah. Jen: It's perfect. Yes. Shaun: 'Cause that's that's crazy. So okay, there's been all of these different seasons 'cause this is season eight of America, right? Okay. Of all of these freaking seasons, how many of these couples actually stay together? Have there been a single couple that stay together? Jen: So obviously that's on our official list for sure. For sure. Barry: Wow. One or both. One or the other or both somehow. That would be cra yo, if we got that opportunity, I don't even again I wouldn't even know if I would know what to say. Like like what do you how do you even like what? Yo, I would have to like for real. And it would have to be for real. Just like let me process that we're talking with you. Yeah. Jen: Mm, mm-hmm. Barry: Yeah, I think it's eight of yeah, the US one. Shaun: Just have the conversations. Yeah. Yeah, both. Jen: No, I think both. I agree. I think paramount Barry: Probably this many. Jen: No, yeah. Some of them are even married now. Some of them have kids now. ⁓ I mean, especially with UK, there's a lot more of that because they've had so many seasons. Most of them, I will say, do not last. But a lot of them are s not a lot. A major ⁓ a percentage. I'm trying to find the right word here. A I know ⁓ to Shaun: No, deer in the headlights completely. Jen: No. It would take me a yeah, it would take me a solid 10 to 15 minutes to compose myself before I could have like actual thoughts of what to say. Shaun: Well that makes sense, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Let's say there's a small percentage. Let's just say a small percentage. No, let's just be real. It's a small percentage. It is. Shaun: Like what's actually happening? Jen: Yeah. Yeah. For sure. Shaun: It went from a lot to a majority, a percentage. Barry: That's crazy though that we had all all that connected, man. That's pretty dope. Shaun: Yeah, that's why that's like when Jen said Michelle, I was like, And then you say Barack. ⁓ Yeah, definitely on the side. Jen: That's so funny. So maybe it's a small percentage. Yeah, truly if you looked over the whole thing, it's probably a small percentage, but there is a small percentage, which is why I think there's Dululu people out there that truly do think that they will find like their person because there is a small percentage that they can hang on to of like, well, they made it and they're married and they have kids and yeah. So it does happen. I n and and I was in my head thinking, I thought they would like that one. I guess not. So funny. Barry: Yeah, no. It's probably very small. Yeah, that's crazy. All right, so they definitely topped on two. So we're gonna we were gonna come up with our five out of those ten that we have now. No, I'm joking, since we all came up with the same ones. Weren't too far off. Shaun: new. So that's what our plan is. ⁓ Ultimately, I mean, we're still early on. This is episode number four of our pod. But that is kind of the goal. Like we really want to keep this going, keep it pushing as much as we possibly can. And hopefully, like these bucket list guests that we have here, we will be able to make that happen someday. So ⁓ keep supporting us. Yeah. Dream big. What is what does it shoot for the stars and you'll Jen: Yeah. Barry: I mean, I guess you always want to be a part of that w the the odd ones out. You always want to prove people wrong, but I don't know, bro. Jen: Yeah, you wanna yeah. Ha Shaun: Yeah. More power to you. I mean if if you do go there with the right intentions and you're trying to find love, hey, more power to you. I mean it's just Jen: Mm-hmm. I guess. It makes me think of that movie, ⁓ He's Just Not That Into You, where they're like, you're not really, you're not the exception, you're the rule. Yeah, like yeah. He's not. Barry: Yo, but I don't know Joe, I literally said that the other night when me and Becca were watching. I like they're literally trying to tell you that he is not into you, girl. Like just accept the facts. Like he is not into it. Jen: Yeah, dream pig. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Shoot for the moon and you'll land amongst the stars, man. But no, if y'all know how to get Barack and Michelle, y'all need to let us know because we'll take them on just anytime. Put ⁓ in the DMs, whatever. If y'all got the connect, let us know. Shaun: land or shoot from the moon and you'll land amongst the stars yeah so that's what we're doing here Jen: Moon, you'll land on the stars. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Let us know. Yes, yes. Let us know how we can get them on. Man, but again, we do appreciate you all for coming to hang out with us for episode number four. ⁓ We love you every single time, like supporting us, watching the videos, listening on the podcast apps. Bro, it's that age gap, man. I don't even know what that is, honestly. Let's not even be let's not even be coy, bro. I don't even know what the heck that means. We out here Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: But... yes. Barry: Hopefully that would be dope. But now speaking of love and and and all the appreciation, y'all, shout out to my little brother, Evan Evan man. ⁓ here just showing us all the love. So appreciate you, bro. Appreciate it. Jen: Yeah.
