- 1:13This whole week from Saturday to Friday is
- 1:15about the power of steady trust, building stability
- 1:18in uncertain times.
- 1:20The daily topic for today, which by the
- 1:22way is, in case you didn't know, yes,
- 1:25today is Tuesday, it's July 7, 2026, series
- 1:315, show 28, episode number 4, how waiting
- 1:34is part of the process.
- 1:36So let's kick this off.
- 1:37Are you ready?
- 1:38I know I am.
- 1:39Welcome everyone to Inspirations for Your Life.
- 1:41I am John Seymourley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing
- 1:45specialist, of course video producer, podcast host, coach,
- 1:50keynote speaker, graduate student at Montclair State University,
- 1:54passionate lifelong learner, and now so grateful to
- 1:57be a published author.
- 1:59Thank you once again for joining me for
- 2:00another amazing episode of Inspirations for Your Life,
- 2:03where I explore practical ideas that help us
- 2:06become stronger, wiser, and more intentional every day.
- 2:10This week's master topic is the power of
- 2:14steady trust, building stability in uncertain times, and
- 2:16I know that can be hard for a
- 2:19lot of people to actually understand.
- 2:22Today's episode is how waiting is part of
- 2:27the process, and I know none of us
- 2:28like to wait, you know, whether that's in
- 2:31business, relationships, but sometimes a little waiting is
- 2:35good, and the most important thing, you know,
- 2:39when we wait is we have that certain
- 2:41spirit, right?
- 2:41I think that's important.
- 2:43Waiting is one of the hardest parts of
- 2:45any journey.
- 2:46We naturally want answers, progress, and results as
- 2:49quickly as possible, but sometimes we're let down.
- 2:53Yet some of life's greatest growth happens during
- 2:56the season when it feels like nothing is
- 2:59changing.
- 3:01Waiting is not empty time, it is preparation
- 3:03time.
- 3:04It is during these quiet moments that our
- 3:06character is strengthened, our perspective becomes clearer, and
- 3:10our foundation grows deeper.
- 3:13Today, I'm going to explore 30 reminders that
- 3:17waiting is never wasted when you continue trusting
- 3:20the process.
- 3:22I think that's something that a lot of
- 3:23people, like, they don't get, they don't understand,
- 3:25but I want to tell you that that
- 3:27is the key of life.
- 3:29I was doing a signing for somebody, actually,
- 3:32tonight, and for my book, Drain the Driven,
- 3:36a friend of the family's, and I asked
- 3:38them how you want me to sign it,
- 3:40and then after I did that, because normally
- 3:41my basic signing is just, you know, stay
- 3:44driven, John C.
- 3:46Morley, you know, author Drain the Driven, and
- 3:50I put, you know, their name, of course,
- 3:51at the top, but in a special signing,
- 3:53I write a few extra sentences.
- 3:55Number one, waiting is not an activity, it
- 3:57is development, it is part of the process.
- 4:00Just because you cannot see visible progress does
- 4:04not mean progress has stopped, okay?
- 4:07Many of life's greatest, let's say, transformations happen
- 4:12beneath the surface long before they ever become
- 4:15visible to the naked eye.
- 4:16Number two, guys, growth continues even when progress
- 4:19is invisible.
- 4:20So this friend tonight said to me, John,
- 4:22you know what the secret of life is?
- 4:23I said, I love to hear secrets of
- 4:24life.
- 4:24They said, showing up.
- 4:26I said, well, that's 95% of it,
- 4:28but we have to show up with intention.
- 4:30We can't just show up to show up.
- 4:33Personal growth often begins internally before it appears
- 4:36externally.
- 4:37Your mindset, patience, and character may be changing
- 4:41even when your circumstances look exactly the same.
- 4:45I know it's hard for a lot of
- 4:46people.
- 4:47Delays are preparation phases that we all have
- 4:50to go through.
- 4:51A delay is often preparing you for something
- 4:53that requires greater wisdom or maturity.
- 4:55Instead of asking why things are taking longer,
- 4:59ask what the season is teaching you, or
- 5:02are you doing this in a way that's
- 5:04respectful?
- 5:05Are you doing this in a manner that
- 5:07is cultivating you, making you become better, and
- 5:10helping other people become better?
- 5:13Number four, guys, patience builds emotional strength.
- 5:16Patience teaches you how to remain calm without
- 5:19demanding.
- 5:20I think that's an important thing.
- 5:21It's not about demanding to meet results.
- 5:24Emotional strength grows every time you choose perseverance
- 5:27over frustration.
- 5:29That's an important thing to know.
- 5:31Really important to know.
- 5:33I know a lot of people get frustrated.
- 5:34Why isn't it happening now?
- 5:36And they go through this crying mode, right?
- 5:38We have to be patient along the process,
- 5:42for our rewards will come to us when
- 5:46we know what we're doing and we believe
- 5:49in the process.
- 5:50Number five, guys, stillness is part of momentum
- 5:53building.
- 5:55Stillness should never be confused with failure.
- 5:57Sometimes slowing down provides the clarity and energy
- 6:00needed for your next breakthrough.
- 6:03Nothing is wasted in preparation time.
- 6:06Every lesson, conversation, setback, and challenge adds value
- 6:10to your future.
- 6:12Preparation often happens quietly before opportunity ever arrives,
- 6:16knocks at your door, and says, hey, I'm
- 6:18here.
- 6:18Can I come in?
- 6:20I think you just got to have that
- 6:22spirit where, yes, you like adventure, you're about
- 6:26respect, and also you're about the fact that
- 6:29you're resilient.
- 6:30Maybe things didn't go the way you want,
- 6:32but I think when you let people know
- 6:35that this is who you are, I always
- 6:37tell people, you're going to like me, you're
- 6:37going to love me, or hate me, and
- 6:39things are going to move on, right?
- 6:40Number seven, waiting develops resilience.
- 6:43Resilience grows when you continue believing in things
- 6:47even without immediate evidence.
- 6:50Every season of waiting strengthens your ability to
- 6:52endure future challenges.
- 6:54That's important, all right?
- 6:55That's not just something I'm saying now.
- 6:57It's something we have to fully believe and
- 6:59embody.
- 6:59Number eight, guys, pressure creates refinement, like the
- 7:03diamond I was talking about, right?
- 7:04They can take millions of years, not like
- 7:06what they do in a lab in a
- 7:07few weeks making a zirconia.
- 7:09Pressure has a way of exposing weakness while
- 7:12developing strength.
- 7:13Now, there's good types of, I should say,
- 7:17pressure, and there's bad types.
- 7:19A good type of pressure is when you're
- 7:21doing something for the greater good of all
- 7:24concerned, or maybe you're trying to get somebody
- 7:26to budge or to do something that, again,
- 7:29is with the greatest intentions.
- 7:32It's never to harm anybody.
- 7:34Sometimes people just need a little nudge, myself
- 7:36included.
- 7:37Pressure has a way of exposing weakness while
- 7:40developing strengths and difficult seasons.
- 7:42They often refine your character more than comfortable
- 7:45ones ever could.
- 7:46I said that success doesn't happen when we're
- 7:50comfortable.
- 7:50It happens when we're uncomfortable.
- 7:51That goes for business.
- 7:53That goes for relationships.
- 7:54It can be scary.
- 7:55It can be daunting.
- 7:59It can be embarrassing sometimes.
- 8:01Number nine, time builds readiness.
- 8:05Opportunity alone is never enough, guys.
- 8:07Time allows your knowledge, your confidence, and experience
- 8:11to grow so you're prepared when opportunity finally
- 8:13arrives.
- 8:14I think that's the thing.
- 8:15When opportunity arrives, it says, hey, I'm here.
- 8:17Let me in.
- 8:17I'm here.
- 8:18Can you let me in?
- 8:19We do, and we get that smile on
- 8:21our face.
- 8:22Yes, this worked, or yes, I achieved it.
- 8:25Number 10, slow progress is still progress.
- 8:27Celebrate those small victories.
- 8:29I don't care.
- 8:30Maybe you got somebody to say hello.
- 8:32Maybe you got somebody to be friendly.
- 8:37Maybe you got somebody to share something about
- 8:40themselves that they were having there.
- 8:43I think these are all very important things
- 8:46to understand, and I think these are really,
- 8:50really important things.
- 8:53We have somebody here that just says thanks,
- 8:57so I do appreciate the thanks.
- 8:59I just have a – it looks like
- 9:01I just have a W here.
- 9:03I don't have a name.
- 9:03I just have a thanks, so I do
- 9:05appreciate that.
- 9:07I really appreciate people that watch and love
- 9:09the content here, so slow progress is still
- 9:11progress.
- 9:11Not every step forward will be a dramatic
- 9:13one.
- 9:14If you expect it to be one, and
- 9:16it's not, you're like, oh, that's all the
- 9:18party's about.
- 9:20Small improvements repeatedly, consistently, often produce the greatest,
- 9:24longest-term transformation, like compound interest, bank accounts.
- 9:28What they bring you in one day is
- 9:30like nothing.
- 9:31What they bring you over time, when you
- 9:34believe in it, when you follow the process,
- 9:35is immense.
- 9:38It's exponential results.
- 9:41Number 11, waiting removes impulsive decisions.
- 9:48Time allows emotion to settle, so wisdom can
- 9:52lead your choices.
- 9:53Many poor decisions are avoided simply because you
- 9:56were willing to wait, and that's a really
- 9:59important thing for you to know and for
- 10:01other people to know.
- 10:03Patience is something that we all have and
- 10:06we need to develop, but then there's the
- 10:08point of having patience, and then there's the
- 10:09point of expectations, and there's a point of
- 10:13communicating.
- 10:14Communication should be there all the time.
- 10:16Patience will strengthen your discipline, okay?
- 10:18Patience teaches you to stay committed, even when
- 10:21words are delayed or they seem like they're
- 10:23not coming.
- 10:24The ability to continue doing the right thing
- 10:26builds remarkable discipline over time.
- 10:29Number 13, guys, you ready for number 13?
- 10:31Are you sure you can handle number 13?
- 10:33I know you can.
- 10:34Number 13 is this.
- 10:35Growth is happening beneath the surface right now,
- 10:39whether you're aware of it or not.
- 10:41You see, when you become aware of things,
- 10:44you get to tap into that energy.
- 10:46You get to tap into that potential in
- 10:48your life.
- 10:49These things are always happening.
- 10:50I've used the example of what color car
- 10:52do you drive?
- 10:53Well, I drive a white car, okay?
- 10:55A white SUV.
- 10:56And if I asked you, are there a
- 10:58lot of white SUVs on the road?
- 11:00If you're asking me that question, I'd say
- 11:01yes.
- 11:02Maybe you drive a red SUV or a
- 11:05red truck or a red whatever or a
- 11:08blue something, and I'd say, you'd say, no,
- 11:09John, there aren't a lot of white trucks
- 11:11on the road wearing SUVs, but there are
- 11:13a lot of red blah, blah, blah of
- 11:15your car, right?
- 11:15Because see, that's what your RAS is focusing
- 11:17on, your reticular acting system.
- 11:19So number 13, growth is happening beneath the
- 11:21surface.
- 11:21If we don't follow it, pay attention to
- 11:23it, still going to be there, but we're
- 11:25not going to tap into its energy.
- 11:27Like roots growing beneath a tree, much of
- 11:29your development happens where nobody else can see
- 11:32it.
- 11:33Strong foundations are almost always invisible at first.
- 11:35Like the iceberg.
- 11:36There's so much going on beneath an iceberg,
- 11:38right?
- 11:39Let's think about that for a moment, okay?
- 11:41So what goes on beneath an iceberg?
- 11:45Does anybody know what goes on beneath the
- 11:47iceberg?
- 11:47So a lot.
- 11:48Beneath the iceberg lies a surprisingly dynamic world.
- 11:52Submerged ice often forms intricate underwater caves and
- 11:56deep blue crevices where young fish, such as
- 11:59ice fish, hide from predators.
- 12:01Additionally, melting ice continually releases iron into the
- 12:04water, triggering blooms of phytoplankton that sustain busting
- 12:11food web of krill, penguins, and whales.
- 12:14So that's a very important thing.
- 12:16So just because we don't see it on
- 12:18the surface doesn't mean it's not doing anything,
- 12:20right?
- 12:21Number 14, silence often hides development.
- 12:25Quiet seasons are rarely empty seasons.
- 12:28They often become the environment where your greatest
- 12:30ideas, strongest habits, and deepest personal growth, they
- 12:34begin.
- 12:35Waiting builds clarity.
- 12:40Time has a remarkable way of helping us
- 12:41see situations more clearly.
- 12:45Waiting often removes confusion and replaces it with
- 12:48wisdom, allowing us to make better decisions with
- 12:52greater confidence.
- 12:54Hmm.
- 12:56Number 16, guys, timing cannot be forced.
- 13:00If two people are agreeing on something and
- 13:03the time is moving, like, fast, there's nothing
- 13:05wrong with that as long as it's mutual.
- 13:08Business, friendship, relationships, et cetera.
- 13:10Timing needs to be something that both people
- 13:14believe in or something that you and the
- 13:16other end believes in if it's something business.
- 13:18Timing cannot be forced.
- 13:19It never should be.
- 13:21Every meaningful achievement has its own season.
- 13:24Trying to force results before you're ready often
- 13:26creates frustration instead of progress, and it gets
- 13:29you to, oh, sometimes not only be depressed,
- 13:33it can get you into burnout.
- 13:34Trust that preparation and opportunity will meet at
- 13:38the right divine time and let patience replace
- 13:41pressure.
- 13:42See, when we can let patience replace pressure,
- 13:46and I talk about this in my book,
- 13:47by the way, we can become anew just
- 13:53by our thought.
- 13:55See, what we think about, we bring about.
- 13:58Number 17, progress is not always visible.
- 14:01Sorry, guys.
- 14:02Some of the most important growth cannot be
- 14:04measured day by day.
- 14:05Sorry.
- 14:06Your mindset, wisdom, confidence, and resilience are developing
- 14:09even when your circumstances seem, well, hopeless, unchanged.
- 14:14Invisible progress is still real progress, so we
- 14:16still need to celebrate it, even if it's
- 14:18minor.
- 14:19Number 18, guys, delay improves long-term outcomes.
- 14:24I know that sounds hard for people to
- 14:26believe, but sometimes there's a reason why a
- 14:29delay happens, a reason why maybe the first
- 14:33time you connected, whether, again, it's friendship, it's
- 14:36business, maybe it wasn't meant to happen then,
- 14:38but then it rebuds later, right?
- 14:40So delay improves outcomes as long as we
- 14:43believe in it.
- 14:44Immediate results are not always the best results.
- 14:47Delays often provide additional experience, better perspective, and
- 14:51stronger preparation because, you know, now that we're
- 14:53seeing something the second time around, it's like,
- 14:55hey, wait a minute, I get this now.
- 14:56Looking back, many of life's greatest blessings arrive
- 14:59at exactly the right time.
- 15:02I know we kick ourselves, myself included, like,
- 15:04hey, why didn't I see that the first
- 15:05time?
- 15:06Why was that so different?
- 15:09Try to give yourself some slack.
- 15:10I know I'm a perfect one to talk,
- 15:12but we need to cut ourselves some slack.
- 15:14We need to cut other people some slack.
- 15:16Number 19, patience builds emotional control.
- 15:20Patience builds emotional control, and I think, and
- 15:26that's the most important thing to understand, and
- 15:29it looks like I got a message in
- 15:32for one of our control people here.
- 15:33I appreciate that.
- 15:34It looks like we did get a name
- 15:36back from the person that said thanks, so
- 15:37I do appreciate that.
- 15:38Looks like Ryan, thank you so much for
- 15:40visiting us again yesterday and today.
- 15:42We really do appreciate your support in the
- 15:44show.
- 15:45Number 19, patience builds emotional control.
- 15:48Learning to wait without becoming discouraged strengthens emotional
- 15:51maturity.
- 15:52Instead of reacting impulsively, you begin responding with
- 15:56wisdom and confidence.
- 15:57Emotional control becomes one of your greatest strengths.
- 16:01See, waiting strengthens focus.
- 16:05I know none of us want to wait,
- 16:07whether it's for fortune, whether it's for a
- 16:09relationship, or whether it's for even just acquiring
- 16:12knowledge.
- 16:13I know so many times at school, it's
- 16:14like, I want to get this.
- 16:15I want to get all this knowledge, right?
- 16:16And I'm like, you know what?
- 16:17It's going to come to me.
- 16:18The knowledge is going to come to me
- 16:20in its time.
- 16:21I'm going to enjoy this course.
- 16:22I'm going to enjoy that course.
- 16:23And the funny thing I could tell you
- 16:25is these mini epiphanies happen in your life.
- 16:28It happened again for a lot of things,
- 16:30people, knowledge.
- 16:31And when you just say, all right, I'm
- 16:33going to learn this at whatever pace it
- 16:34takes, but when you're conscious about doing it,
- 16:37right?
- 16:37Not just saying, hey, I hope it happens.
- 16:39You got to take a little effort.
- 16:41So the waiting makes it all worthwhile.
- 16:43When progress slows, you have an opportunity to
- 16:45evaluate what truly matters.
- 16:47Waiting removes unnecessary distractions.
- 16:50It helps you reconnect with your purpose.
- 16:52See, focus grows when you stop chasing everything
- 16:54at once.
- 16:55I'm guilty of this before.
- 16:57You know, I want to chase everything.
- 16:58You can't chase everything.
- 17:00You can have your purposes.
- 17:02You can have your goals, but stay focused
- 17:05on a couple things.
- 17:06And then when those things start to boil
- 17:08on the stove, great.
- 17:09You can simmer them down, let them cook
- 17:11at the right pace, and then put something
- 17:14else on the stove, but don't try to
- 17:16put eight pots on the stove.
- 17:17Let's get them all to a nice boil,
- 17:19and then we'll all bring them down.
- 17:20So they're all boiling equally, and then without
- 17:23bubbling over.
- 17:24Number 21, stillness prepares action.
- 17:28Stillness is never the absence of movement.
- 17:30It is often the preparation that makes future
- 17:33action more effective.
- 17:34Quiet seasons allow your mind to rest, your
- 17:37vision to sharpen, and your energy to renew
- 17:39before your next opportunity arrives.
- 17:42Number 22, time reveals direction.
- 17:46Answers are not always immediate, guys.
- 17:48Sometimes direction becomes clearer only after you've gained
- 17:52additional experience and perspective.
- 17:54And people beat themselves up.
- 17:55I was one, I did this, right?
- 17:58Because I've learned from my mistakes.
- 18:00And I think it's okay to learn from
- 18:02them, but you have to not do the
- 18:03same thing over again.
- 18:04As Einstein said, doing the same thing over
- 18:06and over again and expecting different results.
- 18:08What is that, guys?
- 18:09You know this.
- 18:09I've said this many times before.
- 18:11Insanity.
- 18:12So why are we doing it?
- 18:14Time has a way of revealing what hurry
- 18:17decisions often overlook.
- 18:19And I know that's hard for a lot
- 18:21of people to embrace, but again, it's a
- 18:23spirit of living.
- 18:25Number 23, we learned a lot about the
- 18:27diamonds in millions of years, right?
- 18:29Pressure produces growth.
- 18:32We said pressure was bad.
- 18:34I said a certain kind of pressure was
- 18:36bad.
- 18:37Not all pressure is bad.
- 18:38We have pressure cookers.
- 18:40We have pressure to make diamonds over billions
- 18:42of years, right?
- 18:43We have pressure in the ocean to make
- 18:45sea glass.
- 18:46We have pressure for certain presses that'll help
- 18:49make metal and different types of alloys, right?
- 18:53We have pressures that can take different types
- 18:56of ABS plastic and other types of material
- 19:00from 3D printers and mold them into tanks.
- 19:04So some pressure is good.
- 19:06It's control pressure.
- 19:08It has to be regulated.
- 19:10Pressure can either discourage you or develop you.
- 19:13If it's too much, well, it's a lot.
- 19:17What happens if I took a faucet, okay?
- 19:20And the faucet is just very light and
- 19:22you're just drinking the hose.
- 19:23No big deal, right?
- 19:24What happens if I have a fire, let's
- 19:28say a hose, and we crank that thing
- 19:32up full blast, right?
- 19:34You put that thing in your mouth, you're
- 19:36probably going to hurt yourself because the water's
- 19:39going to be too violent for you.
- 19:42So we've got to have a balance, right?
- 19:45When approached with the right mindset, it becomes
- 19:47one of life's greatest teachers.
- 19:50Every challenge strengthens abilities you didn't know you
- 19:52possessed.
- 19:53Now, I wouldn't agree with you on this
- 19:54before the show many years ago, but I've
- 19:56learned every day is another lesson for me.
- 20:00And I love life so much.
- 20:02First thing I do when I get up
- 20:03in the morning is I'm so grateful to
- 20:04be alive, thanking our creator.
- 20:06Number 24, waiting builds endurance.
- 20:10I know waiting frustrates you guys, like the
- 20:12people with the FIFA cup.
- 20:13When's he going to kick the goal?
- 20:14When's it going to happen?
- 20:15I know, right?
- 20:17Endurance is the ability to continue when a
- 20:18finish line is still far away, whether we're
- 20:20talking about soccer, whether we're talking about baseball,
- 20:22whether we're talking about swimming, whether we're talking
- 20:25about life or any kind of goals.
- 20:29Endurance is the ability to continue.
- 20:31You know, there was a great movie on,
- 20:32it's called Facing the Giants.
- 20:35And without getting into it too deep, the
- 20:38movie talks about this one kid, his name
- 20:41is Brock.
- 20:42And Brock's like the captain of the team.
- 20:46And Brock is kind of acting a little
- 20:50cocky and all, and kind of like, you
- 20:51know, he's just going to do what he
- 20:53wants to do.
- 20:54And he's kind of leading the team, but
- 20:56he's kind of not leading the team.
- 20:57He's hurting the team because he's only leading
- 21:00best for his own ego.
- 21:01That's not a captain.
- 21:03So the coach tried to talk to him
- 21:05and didn't go anywhere.
- 21:07So one day at practice, he, he, uh,
- 21:12he says, Brock, you, Jeremy, he goes, we're
- 21:18in trouble.
- 21:19We'll see.
- 21:20Not yet.
- 21:21He goes, uh, Brock, down your knees.
- 21:26Am I in trouble?
- 21:28Not yet.
- 21:30And then Jeremy, I want you on his
- 21:32back.
- 21:36On my back?
- 21:37Yeah.
- 21:38On your back.
- 21:39And now I want you to put this
- 21:40blindfold on, Brock.
- 21:42What?
- 21:43That's right.
- 21:43You're going to do the death call, but
- 21:44this time you're going to do it blindfolded.
- 21:49So he, he crawls and crawls and crawls.
- 21:52And he's like, am I done yet?
- 21:54He's like, I want you to go to
- 21:5550.
- 21:55He keeps going.
- 21:56He starts, he started the 50th, 10th, 10th,
- 21:5710th.
- 21:58A little more Brock, a little more.
- 22:01Finally, he's going, going to keep pushing.
- 22:02He's pushing.
- 22:03He's like, I don't have any more of
- 22:05me.
- 22:05I can't do it anymore.
- 22:07He's like, just a few more steps.
- 22:08I gotta be at the 50.
- 22:10He's like, rock, take off your blindfold.
- 22:14It's like you're in the end zone.
- 22:17See, I put that blindfold on me because
- 22:18I didn't want you to stop and give
- 22:21up on yourself before you actually would succeed.
- 22:24And, and Jeremy's like, uh, coach, uh, coach.
- 22:29Um, and he's like, see, and you did,
- 22:31and you did it with Jeremy on your
- 22:33back who weighs a hundred, a hundred pounds.
- 22:36And he keeps going, coach.
- 22:37He's like, stop Jeremy.
- 22:37He's like, I'm trying to talk.
- 22:38He's like, but, but the coach is like,
- 22:40what Jeremy, what is it?
- 22:41Uh, uh, coach, uh, I weigh 150.
- 22:44He's like, oh my.
- 22:46So that teaches us a very important point.
- 22:49Many of us will give up when our
- 22:53eyes are open.
- 22:55When we have blind faith, it's going to
- 22:57happen.
- 22:57We keep going.
- 22:58We trust in it.
- 23:00Every season of waiting strengthens your commitment and
- 23:03teaches you how to remain faithful to your
- 23:05goals.
- 23:07That's a key to success guys.
- 23:09Endurance creates lasting success.
- 23:11Number 25 delay, sharpened your awareness.
- 23:15I've talked about how important awareness is.
- 23:17I talk about my book, right?
- 23:18Awareness is the key that's helped me become
- 23:21successful.
- 23:23Awareness helped me embrace things like slowing down
- 23:26the minutes, the hours, the days, because I
- 23:30learned how to become aware of every moment
- 23:32that's in my life.
- 23:33That has been so priceless.
- 23:35When life slows down, you begin noticing opportunities,
- 23:39lessons, and relationships that constantly constant busyness often
- 23:44hide waiting helps you become more aware of
- 23:47the growth happening around and within you.
- 23:49Awareness creates wisdom.
- 23:51That's important guys.
- 23:53Number 26, our patience improves our judgment.
- 23:57Quick decisions often satisfy emotions while patient decisions
- 24:00usually produce better outcomes.
- 24:03Taking time allows you to gather information, consider
- 24:06your options, and respond with greater confidence.
- 24:09Wisdom often grows at the pace of patience.
- 24:13Wisdom grows at the speed and pace of
- 24:16patience.
- 24:17Have more patience, you'll see your wisdom's going
- 24:20to accelerate.
- 24:21That happened in my master's studies.
- 24:24When I became less judgmental of myself, why
- 24:28am I not learning this right away?
- 24:29I just said, I'm going to do my
- 24:30very best.
- 24:31My very best.
- 24:32That's what coach kept saying on him.
- 24:34He said, I don't know if I can
- 24:34do this.
- 24:34I don't care.
- 24:35He's like, I just want you to give
- 24:35me your very best, your very best.
- 24:37What if I can't do it?
- 24:37I don't care.
- 24:38Just give me your very best.
- 24:39That's all I'm going to ask.
- 24:41That's what I ask myself.
- 24:42Give my very best.
- 24:43Even if it doesn't finish it, just give
- 24:45my very best.
- 24:4699th time, my very best.
- 24:49That's more than I ever expected.
- 24:51Preparation happens in silence, guys.
- 24:53Most people only celebrate the visible success, if
- 24:56you ever see the quiet preparation.
- 24:58To make that success possible, your private disciplines,
- 25:01daily habits, and unseen effort are preparing you
- 25:04for future opportunities that others will recognize after
- 25:07it arrives.
- 25:10Tell a quick story about a dog.
- 25:12There's a dog, a friend of mine, many
- 25:15years back in high school.
- 25:17I was over at the person's house, and
- 25:19they have this dog.
- 25:22I'm there, and I'm like, the dog opens
- 25:24the door, and he walks out.
- 25:26I'm like, I said, call the, let's say
- 25:28he's Mike.
- 25:29His name is Mike.
- 25:29That's not his name.
- 25:30Mike, what a smart dog.
- 25:33You think so, huh?
- 25:34Yeah, your dog just walked up to the
- 25:36front door, grabbed the knob, opened it, and
- 25:39went out.
- 25:41He goes, well, you wouldn't think he was
- 25:43such a smart dog if you were here
- 25:45a week ago.
- 25:46Well, what happened a week ago?
- 25:48Oh, man, he was just clawing at the
- 25:50door, and how to turn the lock, and
- 25:52how to turn the bottom thing.
- 25:53He was at it for hours on end,
- 25:56and barking, and what happened?
- 25:59A few days later, he figured out how
- 26:00to open the door.
- 26:01That's a pretty smart dog.
- 26:04You think so?
- 26:05Yeah, he learned by, he learned by figuring
- 26:09out what didn't work, and he adjusted.
- 26:11That's what we need to do in our
- 26:12lives.
- 26:12Number 28, waiting will build confidence.
- 26:16Just be patient about it.
- 26:17Each season you successfully navigate reminds you that
- 26:19you can handle uncertainty.
- 26:21Confidence grows because you experienced difficult moments before
- 26:25and discovered that you were stronger, and you
- 26:28realized trust in yourself increases every time you
- 26:32refuse to give up.
- 26:34That's important.
- 26:36Number 29, time is part of transformation.
- 26:41Real transformation cannot be rushed, just as three
- 26:46takes people to understand that trees can take
- 26:50years to mature.
- 26:52Meaningful personal growth develops one season, one day
- 26:57at a time.
- 26:59Allow yourself the time necessary to become the
- 27:01person you're capable of becoming.
- 27:03Don't be so hard on yourself.
- 27:05I know I'm one to talk, but I've
- 27:07learned to lighten up a little bit and
- 27:09start to go with the flow more.
- 27:12That was a big epiphany for me after
- 27:17writing the book, but now going around and
- 27:19talking about it, I relive this private story
- 27:22that I love but it actually helps me
- 27:24become even better every time I tell it,
- 27:26and helps others too.
- 27:28Number 30, delay is not denial.
- 27:30It is development, just like we learned with
- 27:32that dog.
- 27:33Pretty powerful dog, right?
- 27:34Perhaps the greatest lesson of today's episode is
- 27:37this.
- 27:37A delay does not mean your dream has
- 27:40disappeared.
- 27:41It may simply mean you're still being prepared
- 27:43for it.
- 27:44Continue trusting the process because what feels like
- 27:46waiting today can become the very reason you're
- 27:49tomorrow.
- 27:51In closing today, as we conclude today's episode,
- 27:54remember that waiting is not your enemy.
- 27:56It is often your greatest teacher.
- 27:58Every season of preparation is strengthening your character,
- 28:00sharpening your judgment, and developing the resilience you'll
- 28:03need for the opportunities ahead.
- 28:05Don't measure your life only by visible progress.
- 28:08Measure it by the person you're becoming while
- 28:10you continue showing up with patience.
- 28:11Discipline and hope, that's the key.
- 28:13The greatest transformations often happen quietly before anyone
- 28:16else can ever see them.
- 28:17Thank you much for joining me for another
- 28:19amazing episode of Inspirations for Your Life.

- 28:24Have a great one, everyone, and be easy
- 28:26on yourself.
- 28:28Take care.
