- 0:00Speaker 1: The song that put Lady Gaga on the map, Just
- 0:02Speaker 1: Dance on Light FM with Cubby and Nina in for Christine.
- 0:05Speaker 2: She is still under the weather.
- 0:07Speaker 3: She should be back tomorrow, I think.
- 0:09Speaker 2: She was feeling like on the fence about today.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:12Speaker 2: So I think you're right.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Because I think she needs one more day of rest.
- 0:16Speaker 1: But her fiance got sick last week and then she
- 0:19Speaker 1: caught it.
- 0:20Speaker 2: And, yeah, she is feeling funky. But back tomorrow.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Well, you know, take it the day.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I'm here. What happened? Did she text you and say,
- 0:28Speaker 2: I need you one more day?
- 0:29Speaker 3: Well, I checked in around 2.30. Because when you don't
- 0:31Speaker 3: hear from somebody and you're on call, you're like, ah,
- 0:33Speaker 3: they're not coming in.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Right.
- 0:34Speaker 3: You know what I mean? 2.30 is a little late
- 0:36Speaker 3: in the day.
- 0:37Speaker 1: And you have to know to plan your night. Because
- 0:39Speaker 1: if you were not filling in for Christine, what time
- 0:41Speaker 1: would you go to bed?
- 0:42Speaker 3: Well, my husband doesn't get home until 8.45, right?
- 0:44Speaker 4: Right.
- 0:47Speaker 2: You want to see him hang out a little bit?
- 0:48Speaker 3: I'd be up until like 10.30 probably.
- 0:49Speaker 2: But you went to bed at 8 o'clock. 8. Morning
- 0:51Speaker 2: show life.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Turned out the lights, said goodbye, texted bye-bye.
- 0:55Speaker 1: You know, that's pretty cool you can do that because
- 0:57Speaker 1: you don't do this shift regularly. So you were able
- 0:59Speaker 1: to flip a switch with your body and go to
- 1:01Speaker 1: bed early.
- 1:02Speaker 3: I'm just like a miracle.
- 1:03Speaker 2: You really are. Hey, here's a great miracle for you.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Have tacos today. It's a miracle.
- 1:08Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 1:09Speaker 2: National Taco Day. Taco Tuesday! National Taco Day. and Taco Tuesday.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Tacos are fantastic.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I was talking to producer Kristen and I said, how
- 1:20Speaker 2: appropriate National Taco Day landed on Taco Tuesday?
- 1:23Speaker 3: Oh my goodness.
- 1:24Speaker 2: And she's like, I'm pretty sure they thought that out.
- 1:26Speaker 3: I think they planned it that way.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I didn't know if Taco Tuesday was just on April
- 1:30Speaker 1: 6th every year and it happened to land on Tuesday today.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I didn't know it was April 6th. What, October 6th,
- 1:36Speaker 3: do you mean?
- 1:37Speaker 2: What did I say? Did I say April?
- 1:38Speaker 3: You said April.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Oh my God, I said April?
- 1:40Speaker 3: You were out of it.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Wow. I meant October 6th.
- 1:44Speaker 3: October 6th.
- 1:44Speaker 1: So I thought, Taco, National Taco Day was every October 6th.
- 1:48Speaker 3: But it's just a Tuesday in October, like maybe the
- 1:50Speaker 3: first Tuesday in October?
- 1:51Speaker 2: I don't know. We have to look it up.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Oh, my goodness.
- 1:53Speaker 2: It doesn't matter about today. We know today is National
- 1:55Speaker 2: Taco Day.
- 1:55Speaker 3: You got to order early.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yo quiero Taco Bell. You think that dog's still alive?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Yo quiero Taco Bell.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Remember the Taco Bell commercials?
- 2:01Speaker 3: Those little dogs live a long time, but I don't
- 2:03Speaker 3: think he's... Yo quiero Taco Bell. He had a... What
- 2:04Speaker 3: was his name? Oh, I know. He was a little white,
- 2:07Speaker 3: white dog.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Kristen, look up the Taco Bell dog. Let's see.
- 2:10Speaker 5: Chewy?
- 2:10Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Something like that, right?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Yo quiero Taco Bell. That commercial was everywhere.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:15Speaker 2: It is October 6th.
- 2:16Speaker 3: They sold a lot of tacos. Gidget. Gidget?
- 2:19Speaker 2: Gidget. So it was a girl? Gidget. Do we know
- 2:22Speaker 2: if Gidget's alive?
- 2:23Speaker 3: Probably not. It's all going to be like 35.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Yo quiero taco, bae.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Well, there are other things going on besides National Taco Day.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Like what?
- 2:30Speaker 1: It's National Coaches Day. It doesn't matter if it's your
- 2:33Speaker 1: debate coach or your soccer coach. It's a good day
- 2:36Speaker 1: to thank those pushing you to be your best.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Teacher, I think, is a coach. Sure. So shout out
- 2:41Speaker 2: to all the teachers. It's National Noodle Day.
- 2:44Speaker 1: If tacos aren't your thing, from spaghetti to whatever you want.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Ramen. Ramen. It's a good day for some noodles.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Love a noodle.
- 2:52Speaker 1: And it's my day, National Plus Size Appreciation Day, a
- 2:56Speaker 1: day to celebrate all our wonderful shapes and sizes.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Buddy.
- 2:59Speaker 2: On this April 6th.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Plus Size Appreciation Day.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I still can't get over, I thought this was a
- 3:05Speaker 1: pretty good segment until I said April 6th.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:08Speaker 2: For the most part, it's been a pretty.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Fun break here. You just lack of sleep, that's all.
- 3:11Speaker 1: It is October 6th, National Taco Day. If we can
- 3:14Speaker 1: get tacos here at the radio station, we would love
- 3:17Speaker 1: to have you. 44363 on text. We'll tell you our address,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and you can bring some tacos up.
- 3:22Speaker 3: We're here till 10 o'clock.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Do you want some tacos?
- 3:24Speaker 3: I would love some tacos.
- 3:25Speaker 2: What kind of taco do you want?
- 3:26Speaker 3: Well, actually, I like a veg taco. So if anybody
- 3:29Speaker 3: specializes in that world, or I could do a fish taco.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I don't mind a fish taco sometimes, like a mushroom taco.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Okay, healthy.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Can I shout out a taco place in my town?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 3:37Speaker 3: My town has three amazing taco places in a little town.
- 3:39Speaker 3: There's Just Tacos, J-U-S Tacos, there's Meaty Meaty, and then there's, oh,
- 3:43Speaker 3: what's the other place? Toro Loco.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:46Speaker 3: We actually have three good taco places.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Lots of options. Tell people where you live again. Can
- 3:50Speaker 2: you name the town? Are you afraid to name your town?
- 3:51Speaker 3: Well, now I've just, now you can look those places up.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Okay, then they'll find you.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yeah, sure.
- 3:55Speaker 2: All right, cool.
- 3:56Speaker 1: All right, hit us up on 44363 on text on
- 3:58Speaker 1: this October. Sixth National Taco Day.
- 4:02Speaker 6: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 4:06Speaker 6: Next on Light FM.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Okay. I need to tell you two things.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Cubby and Christine's.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Two pretty cool things.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Hey, Coca-Cola is shaking things up with a lineup of
- 4:18Speaker 1: fresh flavors launching in 2027, but they just announced it.
- 4:21Speaker 2: This is pretty cool.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Coca-Cola Cherry Lime is hitting shelves in February. And Coca-Cola
- 4:27Speaker 1: Strawberry Float. That sounds intriguing.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 4:30Speaker 2: It's making its debut next summer, summer of 27.
- 4:33Speaker 3: That's pretty good.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I think that's pretty cool.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Cherry Coke is pretty good. Tokyo, there was a competition
- 4:38Speaker 3: yesterday for sleeping. Dozens of people were on mattresses for
- 4:43Speaker 3: 90 minutes. They were trying to win a prize. They
- 4:45Speaker 3: had monitors attached to their heads. The winner was based
- 4:48Speaker 3: on how quickly and soundly they slept. $ 14, 000 is the
- 4:51Speaker 3: prize money.
- 4:51Speaker 2: That had to have been tough because you're not in
- 4:53Speaker 2: your element.
- 4:54Speaker 3: You're in just a room with a bunch of mattresses. Wow.
- 4:56Speaker 3: And now you've got to fall asleep with a monitor
- 4:58Speaker 3: on your head.
- 4:59Speaker 2: But it paid off $ 14, 000. Somebody won. Wow.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I'd do that.
- 5:02Speaker 2: We have money here coming up later today.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 5:06Speaker 3: $ 1, 000.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Just after 10 o'clock.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Oh.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Workday payday's back. Light FM.
- 5:10Speaker 6: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 5:13Speaker 6: Next on Light FM.
- 5:15Speaker 2: 106.7 Light FM. It's Cubby without Christine. She's under the weather.
- 5:19Speaker 2: But you know what? Jamie Lee is here.
- 5:21Speaker 1: You hear on Light FM on the weekends filling in
- 5:23Speaker 1: for Victor Sosa currently, right?
- 5:25Speaker 2: Do our overnight guy.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:27Speaker 2: So I want to talk about something that's really popped
- 5:29Speaker 2: in your life.
- 5:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You filmed a video that I bet you a lot
- 5:34Speaker 1: of people have seen and they didn't know it was you.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Tell me about what you caught on a playground. Was
- 5:39Speaker 1: this two weeks ago or last week?
- 5:41Speaker 5: It was like four days ago. It was Thursday.
- 5:43Speaker 2: And you're up.
- 5:44Speaker 1: To 5 million likes and over 114 million views on
- 5:47Speaker 1: this particular video.
- 5:49Speaker 5: That is correct. 114 million.
- 5:52Speaker 4: To put that in perspective, I just read that Elon
- 5:56Speaker 4: Musk is a trillionaire again. When numbers get so big,
- 6:00Speaker 4: like if I told you, Cubby, that I had a
- 6:03Speaker 4: video that had like 600,000 views, you'd be like, wow, right?
- 6:06Speaker 2: 10,000, I'd be like, whoa.
- 6:08Speaker 4: There are around 180 million people total on Instagram.
- 6:14Speaker 1: And you.
- 6:15Speaker 2: So almost everybody on Instagram has seen the video.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yes. Now let's talk about this video. It happened at
- 6:21Speaker 1: a playground that you go to regularly with your kids, correct?
- 6:25Speaker 5: Correct.
- 6:25Speaker 4: So this adorable little boy, courageous little boy... had his
- 6:29Speaker 4: head caught in the, what do you call it? Like
- 6:31Speaker 4: the gate, the great, whatever.
- 6:32Speaker 2: The bars.
- 6:33Speaker 4: The bars, you know, like between the park and the
- 6:36Speaker 4: outside of the park, right? And so, and he got
- 6:38Speaker 4: his head caught and the firefighters came. It was fascinating
- 6:43Speaker 4: to watch how they got this kid's head out of
- 6:46Speaker 4: the thing.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Now, this is a sweet story. It's not, you know.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Well, yeah, the kid's okay.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:53Speaker 4: So the whole thing was just about the firefighters and
- 6:56Speaker 4: And the whole community.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Their compassion.
- 6:58Speaker 5: Oh, they were so great. Like, you have to see.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Well, you saw it. Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 4: The way, there are, I think, over 70,000 comments at
- 7:06Speaker 4: this point. I looked at the first, like, 14 and.
- 7:09Speaker 5: Stopped because I just, you know.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Can't keep up with it.
- 7:11Speaker 5: I didn't know that it was going to do this.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:14Speaker 5: If I knew the formula for a viral video, I
- 7:17Speaker 5: would have more of them.
- 7:18Speaker 2: And how many followers did you have, by the way?
- 7:20Speaker 2: And then what did you go to?
- 7:21Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:21Speaker 4: So I had just over 20,000, like 22,000. And now
- 7:28Speaker 4: it's like 85,000 followers.
- 7:30Speaker 5: 85,000 followers.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And you've had news agencies reach out to you? They
- 7:33Speaker 1: want to buy the video?
- 7:35Speaker 4: I have had all of the news agencies pounding at
- 7:39Speaker 4: my door saying, we're going to throw money at you.
- 7:42Speaker 5: We want to buy the rights to this video. Take it.
- 7:44Speaker 3: No.
- 7:45Speaker 6: No.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Take it. There is a whole zero chance of me
- 7:48Speaker 5: doing that.
- 7:48Speaker 3: No.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Absolutely not.
- 7:50Speaker 2: And why not?
- 7:51Speaker 5: The video's not about me.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Okay. If I'm going to take credit at all, it's
- 7:57Speaker 4: maybe a journalistic instinct.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:00Speaker 5: You know? Okay, fine. But it's not my video. It's
- 8:05Speaker 5: the world's video. It's the community. I get goosebumps.
- 8:08Speaker 4: The community coming together. The firefighters are heroes and they're
- 8:12Speaker 4: so sweet with this kid.
- 8:13Speaker 5: And this kid was so adorable and courageous. And the
- 8:15Speaker 5: whole moment of it.
- 8:16Speaker 4: So like the few comments that I saw people saying,
- 8:20Speaker 4: oh my God, this reminds me of my childhood or just,
- 8:22Speaker 4: you know, and then firefighters from around the world and
- 8:25Speaker 4: it's just.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Did anybody say anything to you like, how come you
- 8:27Speaker 1: didn't help the kid and you just filmed it?
- 8:29Speaker 5: A lot of people ask me why I didn't help
- 8:31Speaker 5: the kid. I'm like, are you kidding me? Somebody's head's
- 8:34Speaker 5: caught and you're going to.
- 8:35Speaker 3: No.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Right.
- 8:36Speaker 5: You don't want that.
- 8:36Speaker 3: No.
- 8:37Speaker 2: You can't pull his head out. He knows what you'll do.
- 8:39Speaker 4: If I were going to help him and I have
- 8:41Speaker 4: in certain situations because when I'm not on the radio
- 8:44Speaker 4: or TV, I am a full-time hypnotherapist.
- 8:47Speaker 6: Right.
- 8:47Speaker 5: And I'm actually.
- 8:48Speaker 4: extra, extra advanced certified in working with people in medical emergencies.
- 8:54Speaker 5: Let me be clear.
- 8:55Speaker 4: I'm not a doctor in emergencies while waiting for help
- 8:59Speaker 4: to arrive. I am certified in helping people through hypnosis
- 9:04Speaker 4: with their permission, of course. And, you know, it's funny,
- 9:07Speaker 4: like when you have a tool or a skill, the
- 9:10Speaker 4: need finds you. It's happened more than I've ever wanted
- 9:13Speaker 4: it to happen.
- 9:14Speaker 5: And I've used it. And it's amazing. So that's how
- 9:16Speaker 5: I could help him, but I didn't. And I wouldn't
- 9:18Speaker 5: because he's not my kid.
- 9:20Speaker 6: Right.
- 9:21Speaker 1: And again, tell people how they can see the video
- 9:23Speaker 1: if they haven't seen it yet. How can they follow
- 9:25Speaker 1: you and find you?
- 9:26Speaker 2: Oh, thank you. Because you're Jamie Lee here on Light FM.
- 9:28Speaker 2: But let's be honest. It's not my real name. Not
- 9:31Speaker 2: your real name.
- 9:32Speaker 5: Did your mama name you Cubby?
- 9:33Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 9:34Speaker 2: It's a nickname. But tell me about how people can
- 9:37Speaker 2: find you.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Okay, so my real name is Sandy. So it's Sandy
- 9:41Speaker 4: Ames Hypnotherapy.
- 9:43Speaker 2: So Sandy A-M-E-S.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Yes, yes, thank you. Sandy Ames Hypnotherapy on Instagram.
- 9:49Speaker 1: And again, this poor kid stuck in a gate, basically.
- 9:52Speaker 1: And the kid, by the way, I applaud the kid.
- 9:54Speaker 1: He wasn't panicked. He was very calm, cool, and collected,
- 9:56Speaker 1: but he couldn't get out. You captured the video, FDNY
- 9:59Speaker 1: captured it. and helped everybody, and all is.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Good in the world.
- 10:03Speaker 5: The emotion of the story. I just, I couldn't not.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Yeah, it was great.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Check out that video on Jamie Lee's page, although she's
- 10:09Speaker 1: under Sandy Ames.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Thank you, Jamie.
- 10:11Speaker 6: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 10:15Speaker 6: Next on Light FM.
- 10:17Speaker 1: And Nina, you brought something to my attention earlier. about
- 10:20Speaker 1: money well spent.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Sometimes you got to spend money, but sometimes you can
- 10:24Speaker 3: find stuff for cheap.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Tell me about this article here.
- 10:26Speaker 3: So this is items under 200 bucks that you keep
- 10:29Speaker 3: recommending to people that you cannot live without. You know
- 10:32Speaker 3: how you have like a gadget in your house sometimes?
- 10:34Speaker 3: It's like, this is the thing that I always needed.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Like a sound machine, which is on here, by the way.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Do you have a sound machine?
- 10:39Speaker 2: Oh man, we go to bed with category five hurricane on. Yeah,
- 10:44Speaker 2: it's loud.
- 10:45Speaker 1: And thank goodness we have an alarm system because if
- 10:48Speaker 1: we didn't have an alarm system... you could.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Break into our house easily because all I hear is
- 10:52Speaker 2: in our room.
- 10:54Speaker 3: That happened to me once. We have that story. We've
- 10:55Speaker 3: told that story.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Oh, right.
- 10:56Speaker 3: I got broken into and we couldn't hear it because
- 10:58Speaker 3: of the air conditioning.
- 11:00Speaker 2: That's right.
- 11:00Speaker 3: That's right.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Well, Sound Machine is on the list.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Again, these are items under $ 200 that you recommend to people.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Yeah. Like an air compressor, like a tire air compressor.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You know when you have Tires are always low. Ours
- 11:13Speaker 3: are always low. You have a tire compressor. You don't
- 11:14Speaker 3: have to go to the gas station and deal with
- 11:16Speaker 3: the quarters, and those things are always broken.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Especially this time of year.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely.
- 11:19Speaker 2: My PSI pressure was very low today because it was
- 11:21Speaker 2: very cold in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Do you have a compressor at your house?
- 11:24Speaker 1: I didn't need to use it, but I knew I
- 11:26Speaker 1: had one. So, yeah, they're good to have. I mean,
- 11:28Speaker 1: if you have a flat, you can't do anything.
- 11:30Speaker 3: No.
- 11:30Speaker 2: But if you need a little extra air, absolutely.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Those things are amazing to have. A good chef's knife
- 11:35Speaker 3: is really great to have. I've got to say it,
- 11:37Speaker 3: a bidet attachment. Oh, oh.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Come on. Well, we got a whole.
- 11:41Speaker 3: You got a whole fleet of those things?
- 11:43Speaker 2: We have a Toto toilet.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Oh, we do too.
- 11:45Speaker 2: That we got 10 years ago.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Oh, that's worth the money.
- 11:47Speaker 2: That was very expensive.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:49Speaker 2: But worth the money.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Not under $ 200, but you can get a good.
- 11:53Speaker 3: They're just not hot water. You get the cold splash.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Not with the Toto toilet.
- 11:56Speaker 3: You got to brace yourself for the cold one. I
- 11:58Speaker 3: have a cold one and a hot one. Oh, do you? Yeah,
- 11:59Speaker 3: the guests get the cold one.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Okay. But we have the hot seat. You have the
- 12:02Speaker 2: hot seat.
- 12:03Speaker 3: I have the hot seat.
- 12:04Speaker 6: And.
- 12:04Speaker 3: That's worth it. And the air.
- 12:05Speaker 2: And the air blow drives you. Oh, my God. It's great.
- 12:10Speaker 3: That's worth the money. Bamboo underwear is on here as
- 12:12Speaker 3: long as we're talking about this stuff. What's a bamboo underwear?
- 12:15Speaker 2: My kids have bamboo underwear. Really? And love it. But
- 12:18Speaker 2: I've never owned a pair.
- 12:19Speaker 3: We had bamboo sheets once. They were kind of fantastic.
- 12:22Speaker 3: They were really cool and soft.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I know they're very delicate. I know you can't throw
- 12:26Speaker 2: them in the dryer. I learned that the hard way. Oh, really?
- 12:28Speaker 6: What do they shrink?
- 12:29Speaker 2: You have to let them hang dry. on the whatever you.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Hang dry things on. That's cute. Electric toothbrushes on this list?
- 12:36Speaker 2: See, I wouldn't... Look, I know an electric toothbrush is
- 12:39Speaker 2: under $ 200, but.
- 12:40Speaker 3: My husband has one. I don't have one.
- 12:42Speaker 2: They're good. I know they do the job, but I
- 12:45Speaker 2: would pay maybe $ 50 for a good electric toothbrush.
- 12:47Speaker 3: But, dude, can't you just move your hand up and
- 12:48Speaker 3: down for a few minutes? Like, why do you have
- 12:50Speaker 3: to go electric?
- 12:50Speaker 2: Like, it worked all these years without electric.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I assume it did. What else is on here?
- 12:55Speaker 2: A dash cam is good. A good pillow.
- 12:57Speaker 3: A good pillow.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Oh, a good pillow, yep. I would spend under $ 200
- 13:00Speaker 2: for a good pillow.
- 13:01Speaker 3: You've got to pay for a good pillow.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Sunrise alarm clock. See, I don't trust those. I hear
- 13:06Speaker 1: they're great to wake up to.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:08Speaker 2: An alarm clock that really has no noise. It just
- 13:10Speaker 2: slowly lights up.
- 13:11Speaker 3: What's the noise on your alarm clock?
- 13:12Speaker 2: Well, I have two. I have the phone. The iPhone
- 13:15Speaker 2: is my main alarm.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Do you use like beep, beep, or is it more?
- 13:16Speaker 1: I have an old school clock radio that if I
- 13:19Speaker 1: hear that, I know I'm way late.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I usually turn it off before I get.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Oh, you have a backup plan.
- 13:23Speaker 2: That's my backup, which I never hear.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 13:25Speaker 2: That's set for like 15 minutes past.
- 13:27Speaker 3: So you turn it off every morning?
- 13:28Speaker 2: Turn it off every morning.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Oh.
- 13:29Speaker 1: There have been times where I forget, and then my
- 13:32Speaker 1: wife hears it after I've gone, and she doesn't know
- 13:34Speaker 1: how to turn it off.
- 13:35Speaker 2: She just unplugs the whole clock. Fair enough.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Fair enough.
- 13:39Speaker 2: But hit us up at 44363.
- 13:40Speaker 1: What's a good item under $ 200 that's so good that
- 13:43Speaker 1: you recommend it to other people?
- 13:45Speaker 2: We want to hear from you.
- 13:46Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:46Speaker 2: You have the news coming up?
- 13:47Speaker 3: I do. You think your haircut is getting more expensive?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Well, you're right. You're right.
- 13:51Speaker 6: Mort Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Next on Light FM.
- 13:57Speaker 1: 6.59 on a taco Tuesday. National Taco Day.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Yo quiero taco, bae. It's 106.7 Light FM. Nina's in
- 14:04Speaker 2: for Christine. You have all the headlines. Good morning, Nina.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Good morning, everyone. Leaders from OpenAI, Meta, Anthropic, and Google
- 14:10Speaker 3: faced tough questions about AI during a New York City
- 14:12Speaker 3: council meeting yesterday. The company said they're committed to safety
- 14:17Speaker 3: but could not guarantee AI systems will always follow safeguards.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Protests are growing amid a rape investigation at a Cornell
- 14:24Speaker 3: University fraternity. Yesterday, hundreds of Cornell students took part in
- 14:27Speaker 3: a demonstration to protest the university's handling of the alleged
- 14:31Speaker 3: rape case from 2024. New York Governor Kathy Hochul is
- 14:34Speaker 3: declaring a state of emergency in response to the ongoing
- 14:37Speaker 3: measles outbreak. There have been 108 confirmed cases in the
- 14:41Speaker 3: state this year. President Trump is heading to Maryland today
- 14:44Speaker 3: after visiting deep red Nebraska yesterday for another rally ahead
- 14:47Speaker 3: of the midterm elections. The Yankees lost Game 2 of
- 14:50Speaker 3: the ALDS yesterday to the Rays 5-2. Game 3 is tomorrow,
- 14:53Speaker 3: a must-win for the Yanks. And the Falcons beat the
- 14:56Speaker 3: Saints 45-24. And if you think your haircut is getting expensive,
- 15:01Speaker 3: you're right. The average haircut in the U.S. is now
- 15:03Speaker 3: 56 bucks. Women's tend to be more, 69 to 43
- 15:08Speaker 3: for men. The most expensive place in the country, New York,
- 15:11Speaker 3: $ 148 for a haircut. That said... A cheap haircut, you know,
- 15:17Speaker 3: might not be the best choice of where to, you know,
- 15:19Speaker 3: save money.
- 15:20Speaker 2: 2020.
- 15:21Speaker 3: What about it?
- 15:22Speaker 2: Last time I had a haircut.
- 15:24Speaker 6: Oh.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Well, I paid for a haircut.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Now my wife does it during the pandemic. Because,
- 15:28Speaker 1: you know, we always joke, we joke how I'm bald,
- 15:30Speaker 1: but I'm not really bald.
- 15:31Speaker 3: You've got some fuzz.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Some fuzz will come out. But when we couldn't leave.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:36Speaker 1: She's like, you know what? Let's go on the patio.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I'm just going to buzz it. And she's been buzzing
- 15:40Speaker 1: it since 2020. So, yeah, no more haircuts.
- 15:43Speaker 3: I cut my husband's hair most of the time, actually, too.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Do you?
- 15:46Speaker 3: I wonder how that's affected barbers, right?
- 15:49Speaker 2: Well, apparently they're making up for it with the higher prices.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I guess so, yeah. are out. That's the number one
- 16:07Speaker 3: costume people have seen enough of, the sexy one. You
- 16:10Speaker 3: know why people do the sexy one? Because you have
- 16:11Speaker 3: no idea what you're going to wear and you can
- 16:13Speaker 3: look in your closet and you go, oh, I could
- 16:14Speaker 3: wear a bustier and maybe a short skirt and that'll do.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Well, there's some people that are going to miss that.
- 16:20Speaker 1: But yeah, 2,000 Americans were in a survey and they
- 16:24Speaker 1: found that if they are going to dress up, people
- 16:27Speaker 1: are saying just they're over the sexy version of anything, really.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Some people do a sexy version of I don't know,
- 16:33Speaker 1: a radio person or a sexy person.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Of themselves, really, right? Or a cat. Yeah, they put
- 16:38Speaker 3: a nose on and a tail and then a bra.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Right.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:41Speaker 2: There you go. Done. It's easy, I guess.
- 16:42Speaker 3: It is easy.
- 16:43Speaker 1: And what else are people over when it comes to costumes?
- 16:46Speaker 3: People are tired of the pirate.
- 16:48Speaker 2: That's number two.
- 16:48Speaker 3: That's always a guy and a pirate.
- 16:50Speaker 2: That's always the easy ones, I feel like, that people
- 16:52Speaker 2: are over.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Because you don't have to think about it, right? A Joker.
- 16:54Speaker 3: The Joker.
- 16:55Speaker 2: The Joker.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Wait, hang on. On the Joker, I still think that's
- 16:59Speaker 2: a lot of work, though.
- 17:00Speaker 3: That's the face makeup.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you have to look like the Joker, but people apparently.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Are over it. Cowboy and cowgirl.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Okay.
- 17:07Speaker 3: That one I can pull off without even thinking, right?
- 17:09Speaker 3: You just got boots in your closet. That's why people
- 17:10Speaker 3: do it.
- 17:11Speaker 2: You lived in Texas. So did I.
- 17:12Speaker 3: I have boots. Harley Quinn, people are over.
- 17:15Speaker 2: I don't know who that is.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Wasn't that Miley Cyrus? Harley Quinn? No. Somebody, it's a
- 17:21Speaker 3: thing that people are over, so don't worry.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah, just forget it. It doesn't matter. People are over.
- 17:25Speaker 2: We don't have to.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Worry about it at all. The hippie, the minion, Thing
- 17:29Speaker 3: 1 and Thing 2. I like Thing 1 and Thing 2, actually.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but I see it all the time, even not Halloween,
- 17:35Speaker 1: especially if you're good at Disney.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Really? I see everyone walking around with Thing 1, Thing 2, right?
- 17:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Don't you? At Disney?
- 17:43Speaker 1: What is it, Universal? It's more Universal, Thing 1, Thing 2? Oh,
- 17:47Speaker 1: thank you for correcting me. I feel like I've seen
- 17:49Speaker 1: it in parks. People walking around in theme parks. Maybe
- 17:52Speaker 1: it's universal that I see thing one, thing two.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Oh, maybe. You know what's not on this list is ghosts, right? Like,
- 17:57Speaker 3: haven't we... Does anybody still do like just a sheet
- 18:00Speaker 3: with the eyes and all that? Like the old, old,
- 18:02Speaker 3: old school?
- 18:03Speaker 2: It's not 1927 anymore. That'd be a pain in the butt.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Well, you lose your sheet, right? Then you got a
- 18:11Speaker 3: hole in your sheets.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Right. Yeah. And then, did you say mime? Mime's on there.
- 18:14Speaker 3: I didn't say mime, but.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Number 10 on the list of costumes people are over.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Or Where's Waldo. Where's Waldo is number nine.
- 18:21Speaker 3: But you've got to buy that shirt.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Mime is 10.
- 18:23Speaker 3: I have a banana costume that I kind of wear
- 18:25Speaker 3: all the time because I bought it. And now I
- 18:27Speaker 3: feel tired, but it's also right there. I'm just a banana.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Would that be your go-to?
- 18:32Speaker 1: If you were invited to a party and you couldn't
- 18:34Speaker 1: say no, it was a Halloween party, you have to
- 18:36Speaker 1: dress up, what would you pull out of your closet?
- 18:38Speaker 3: It depends on who's hosting it. But if they have
- 18:40Speaker 3: children around, probably the banana because it's safe and funny.
- 18:43Speaker 3: It's a little amusing. Right.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:44Speaker 3: I'd rather be amusing than scary with kids, right? Wouldn't you?
- 18:48Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, it depends. I mean, if you're going with
- 18:50Speaker 2: an adult party.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:51Speaker 2: But if you're trick-or-treating with kids, you want to be fun.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Oh, then it's sexy all the way, adults.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Well, yeah, there you go. 44363, want to hear from you.
- 18:57Speaker 2: What costume are you kind of tired of seeing when
- 19:00Speaker 2: you go to Halloween parties?
- 19:01Speaker 6: Mort Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 19:04Speaker 6: Next on Light FM.
- 19:07Speaker 2: You pretty good at trivia?
- 19:08Speaker 3: Light FM's Trivia Battle.
- 19:11Speaker 1: It's National Taco Day. Nina Del Rio in for Christine.
- 19:15Speaker 1: It's also Taco Tuesday.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Excellent.
- 19:17Speaker 1: So producer Kristen has come up with a Taco Day
- 19:19Speaker 1: edition of questions.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Fantastic.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Let's get to know our contestants. Jennifer, who is in Connecticut.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Good morning, Jennifer. What do you do for a living?
- 19:29Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 19:29Speaker 2: I am an ultrasound technologist. Okay. I believe we've talked
- 19:32Speaker 2: to you in the past. You've played before, correct? Yes,
- 19:35Speaker 2: I have. And did you win or lose last time?
- 19:38Speaker 2: The most recent time I lost. Okay. Okay. Going for redemption.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Okay.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Well, Jennifer, you're on Team Cubby, and who's Jennifer's competition?
- 19:45Speaker 3: We are playing with First Timer, Angela in Staten Island.
- 19:48Speaker 3: It's your first time, right, Angela? Yes, it is. And
- 19:51Speaker 3: what do you do for a living? I'm a bookkeeper
- 19:54Speaker 3: for a tile company. Oh, nice.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Heading to work, and you have Light FM on. You're
- 19:58Speaker 2: a good woman.
- 20:00Speaker 3: I am, and I just missed my exit because I
- 20:02Speaker 3: was so excited.
- 20:04Speaker 2: And you missed your exit.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Well, now you have time to play.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Right, exactly.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Well, Jennifer, you're going to get three questions. Angela, you'll
- 20:10Speaker 1: get three questions. Best out of three wins. It's the
- 20:12Speaker 1: Taco Day edition. Here we go. Jennifer, question number one
- 20:15Speaker 1: for you. How many tacos do Americans consume in a year? A,
- 20:21Speaker 1: 2 billion, B, 4.5 billion, or C, 6.5 billion? I'm
- 20:24Speaker 1: going to go with 4.5.
- 20:26Speaker 3: 4.5.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Was that a guess or did you know it because
- 20:33Speaker 1: you seemed very confident about it?
- 20:35Speaker 2: No, it was a guess. Okay, Jennifer on the board
- 20:37Speaker 2: won nothing.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Okay, Angela, here we go. The Guinness World Record for
- 20:41Speaker 3: the largest taco ever made stretched over how many feet?
- 20:46Speaker 3: Was it A, 246 feet, B, 298 feet, or C,
- 20:47Speaker 3: 307 feet? Well, I'm going to say B.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Uh, no.
- 20:58Speaker 3: It is A, 246 feet. Good guess, though. That's a
- 21:01Speaker 3: tough one. And we're only question one.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Only question one.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:04Speaker 2: But Jennifer could take a commanding 2-0 lead here. All right.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Which of these, Jennifer, is not a common topping for
- 21:12Speaker 1: authentic tacos? A, cilantro, B, salsa verde, or C, sour cream?
- 21:20Speaker 4: Oh, my gosh.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I'm going to go with sour cream. And I love
- 21:25Speaker 2: sour cream, and apparently that's not like a regular topping.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Not a real thing.
- 21:30Speaker 2: And I enjoy it when it comes out with my
- 21:31Speaker 2: cheese and my lettuce and my tomato.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Yeah, okay.
- 21:34Speaker 2: So, two-nothing Jennifer.
- 21:35Speaker 3: So, Angela, this is the question you have to get
- 21:37Speaker 3: to keep going, right?
- 21:38Speaker 2: Well, you're done.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Oof!
- 21:39Speaker 2: You're out.
- 21:40Speaker 3: She missed her exit. Let's be kind. Come on.
- 21:42Speaker 2: About to miss this game.
- 21:42Speaker 3: All right, here we go. Angela, which cut of meat
- 21:46Speaker 3: is used for carne asada tacos? Is it A, pork, B,
- 21:50Speaker 3: skirt steak, or C, beef brisket?
- 21:55Speaker 2: I'm gonna say skirt steak.
- 21:57Speaker 3: That is correct!
- 21:58Speaker 2: She stays alive!
- 21:59Speaker 3: Yay!
- 22:00Speaker 2: All right.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Okay, so Jennifer leads 2-1, but Angela, you need Jennifer
- 22:03Speaker 1: to miss this to stay in the game. Jennifer gets this,
- 22:06Speaker 1: it's three for three, and she wraps it up. Jennifer,
- 22:09Speaker 1: where can you find the most expensive tacos in the world? A, Mexico, B,
- 22:15Speaker 1: New York City, or C, Dubai?
- 22:21Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with, oh, I don't wanna get this one.
- 22:26Speaker 1: What was the second choice? A, Mexico, B, New York City,
- 22:30Speaker 1: or C, Dubai are all your choices.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Three seconds. Dubai. Dubai.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 22:38Speaker 2: It's Mexico.
- 22:40Speaker 1: In fact, the Grand Villas Los Cabos Resort has tacos
- 22:44Speaker 1: for $ 25, 000 if you have the money. So that means
- 22:49Speaker 1: Angela can tie this game up and make a comeback here.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Okay, here we go, Angela. Which country holds the record
- 22:54Speaker 3: for the largest number of tacos eaten in a single sitting?
- 22:58Speaker 3: Is it A, in Australia, B, Mexico, or C, the U.S.
- 23:05Speaker 6: I'm going to say C, the U.S.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Yes, yes, that's actually Joey Chestnut, who has that 126
- 23:11Speaker 3: tacos in eight minutes.
- 23:13Speaker 2: So Angela at one point was down 2-0. We are
- 23:16Speaker 2: all tied up two to two.
- 23:17Speaker 1: We have another tie. Been having a lot of ties lately.
- 23:21Speaker 1: So now it's anybody's game.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Okay.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Producer Kristen is going to write down a number between
- 23:25Speaker 2: one and 100.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Whoever is closest to what she wrote down, doesn't matter
- 23:29Speaker 1: if you go over, is going to win the game.
- 23:31Speaker 2: You have no idea what she wrote down. Jennifer, what
- 23:33Speaker 2: do you think she wrote down?
- 23:34Speaker 3: I just saw it.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I'm going to go with 73. 73, Jennifer says. Angela?
- 23:40Speaker 3: What's your number?
- 23:41Speaker 4: 21.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Nina, can you speak for Producer Kristen?
- 23:44Speaker 1: I can.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Kristen wrote down a six, which means Angela with 21
- 23:50Speaker 3: is our winner.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yay!
- 23:52Speaker 5: Hey, congratulations.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Yay, congrats.
- 23:54Speaker 1: All right, Angela, you hang there on the side of
- 23:57Speaker 1: the road, and we'll get your information.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Congratulations.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 24:01Speaker 2: And thank you for playing, Jennifer.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Congrats, Angela. You win tickets to New York City's ultimate
- 24:05Speaker 3: wine and food experience Saturday, October 17th or Sunday, October
- 24:09Speaker 3: 18th at the New York City Wine and Food Festival.
- 24:12Speaker 4: Woo-hoo!
- 24:13Speaker 2: Hang on one second.
- 24:14Speaker 6: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 24:18Speaker 6: Next on Light FM.
- 24:20Speaker 2: 106.7 Light FM. Cubby here.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Nina is in for Christine, who's under the weather. We
- 24:24Speaker 1: got producer Kristen. But are you ready for the big announcement?
- 24:28Speaker 3: I can't wait.
- 24:28Speaker 2: It's coming back.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Get ready for 106.7 Light FM's Touch a Truck event.
- 24:35Speaker 1: It's driven by Lincoln Tech. You can bring the whole
- 24:38Speaker 1: family for a fun day where kids can climb on
- 24:41Speaker 1: fire trucks, police cars... construction trucks, and more. You can
- 24:45Speaker 1: meet the heroes who drive them, enjoy music. We got food,
- 24:49Speaker 1: make memories at this hands-on community experience.
- 24:52Speaker 3: It's also a part of a Halloween tradition. There's pumpkin painting,
- 24:56Speaker 3: spooky rooms, hay bale rides, trick-or-treating. Join us October 24th
- 25:01Speaker 3: at the Lincoln Tech campus in South Plainfield, New Jersey.
- 25:04Speaker 3: More information about Lincoln Tech is at lincolntech.edu. This event
- 25:08Speaker 3: is driven by Lincoln Tech and New Jersey Transit.
- 25:11Speaker 1: And you said it, you know, even though it's October 24th,
- 25:13Speaker 1: a week before Halloween, we are going to be in
- 25:15Speaker 1: full Halloween mode.
