Speaker 3: between former President Trump Vice President Kamala Harris and the opinions,

Speaker 3: they are a plenty. I'm sure you had them as
• 1:51
Speaker 3: I do. We're gonna have some guests lined up a

Speaker 3: little bit later on and then I am gonna get

• 1:59
Speaker 3: all right. The text lines are open now, so if
• 2:02
Speaker 3: you want to go ahead, and I already had some

Speaker 3: way and now we want to got here this morning,
• 2:05
Speaker 3: get those texts in here now, the Tony, the Taylor
• 2:08
Speaker 3: text line, and I will do my best to get
• 2:10
Speaker 3: to all of them. Later on the show. I'll weigh
• 2:13
Speaker 3: in a little bit, but I'm more interested in hearing
• 2:15
Speaker 3: your take on the debate last night now, Hobby. Of course,
• 2:20
Speaker 3: we'll have more on this coming up at ten oh
• 2:21
Speaker 3: six on the show today. State Senator Mike Stewart frequent
• 2:24
Speaker 3: guests of the show. He's been making the rounds though
• 2:26
Speaker 3: recently talking about helmet safety for our youth football players,
• 2:30
Speaker 3: particularly in regards to these Guardian caps. This song coming
• 2:34
Speaker 3: on the death of young young mister Crowdock down in
• 2:37
Speaker 3: Boone County. We'll talk to Senator Stewart about that. The
• 2:40
Speaker 3: legislator sure, of course, wrapping up a couple of days
• 2:42
Speaker 3: of interims at Parkersburg, we'll get to him about that.
• 2:44
Speaker 3: And you know, being a former head of the Trump
• 2:49
Speaker 3: campaign in West Virginia a few years ago, he's probably
• 2:51
Speaker 3: going to want to mention something about the debate between
• 2:54
Speaker 3: Trump and Harris last night, So we'll get into that
• 2:56
Speaker 3: coming up a little bit later on as well. Of course,
• 2:58
Speaker 3: it is the anniversary of nine to eleven this this
• 3:02
Speaker 3: time twenty three years ago, we were all standing around.
• 3:05
Speaker 3: I was actually on the air on the radio and
• 3:08
Speaker 3: logan at the time, and we were all gathered in
• 3:11
Speaker 3: the sales room down the hall watching the coverage and
• 3:15
Speaker 3: not just you know, being totally what's the word I'm
• 3:21
Speaker 3: looking for, just totally in a trance, I guess at
• 3:24
Speaker 3: that time, at this particular time, and because it had
• 3:28
Speaker 3: just happened like thirty months before, and then we had
• 3:30
Speaker 3: the other you know, the other center that fell after ten,
• 3:33
Speaker 3: So we'll try to touch on that as best we
• 3:36
Speaker 3: can as well. A couple of quick news items so
• 3:38
Speaker 3: I have to get to There is increased police presence
• 3:41
Speaker 3: this morning at Capitol High, Ben Franklin Career Center and
• 3:44
Speaker 3: at Carver as precaution. Do to stop me if you've
• 3:46
Speaker 3: heard this before, more of these online threats. No reasonably
• 3:50
Speaker 3: that any of them are true, but you know, caution
• 3:53
Speaker 3: and stuff. It's been going on all over the state
• 3:54
Speaker 3: and in other states as well. So just just some
• 3:58
Speaker 3: increased presences locations today and also some news about KRT
• 4:04
Speaker 3: and I'm going to get into that in a little
• 4:05
Speaker 3: bit more the next couple of days. They are trying,
• 4:08
Speaker 3: as you know, we've had Sean Hill on the show
• 4:10
Speaker 3: a couple of times, trying to switch up some of
• 4:11
Speaker 3: their services to in order to save money. The latest
• 4:15
Speaker 3: plan possibly to eliminate Sunday service, and I'm going to
• 4:19
Speaker 3: get into that in the future show. We'll be following
• 4:21
Speaker 3: the story, of course throughout the day as well. Big
• 4:24
Speaker 3: Ley Pickley, Wiggy Hotline three zero four three four five
• 4:26
Speaker 3: fifty eight fifty eight Antony the Taylor Text three zero
• 4:29
Speaker 3: four nine three five five zero zero eight right now, though,
• 4:32
Speaker 3: I want to bring in a million nicely from West Virginia.
• 4:34
Speaker 3: Watch Good Morning, Milia. How are you?
• 4:36
  Speaker 6: Good morning?
• 4:36
  Speaker 7: I'm well.
• 4:37
  Speaker 6: How are you?
• 4:37
Speaker 3: I'm fine? Can I ask you, without being too personal,
• 4:40
Speaker 3: your memories of nine to eleven? I mean, you're a
• 4:43
Speaker 3: lot younger than I am. I would suspect, but where
• 4:46
  Speaker 3: were you?
• 4:47
  Speaker 6: Yes?
• 4:47
Speaker 7: So, I was in seventh grade at Crosslans Christian here
• 4:51
Speaker 7: in Kanawck County. And I have a cousin who worked
• 4:55
Speaker 7: in the trade towers and thankfully made it out and
• 4:58
Speaker 7: a safe and a father now with beautiful children. But
• 5:01
Speaker 7: he and his then fiance both worked in downtown New
• 5:05
Speaker 7: York City, and so, like many family members, we waited
• 5:08
Speaker 7: to hear if he was okay. And that took quite
• 5:10
Speaker 7: a bit of time, right, because his cell phone and
• 5:13
Speaker 7: all the things were not working at that time. But
• 5:15
Speaker 7: I actually just learned a couple of weeks ago that
• 5:18
Speaker 7: his fiance changed her work voicemail to her location so
• 5:23
Speaker 7: that when he kept calling her because the phones were down,
• 5:25
Speaker 7: he at least could know where she was, and he
• 5:27
Speaker 7: walked miles through all of that chaos to get to her.
• 5:30
Speaker 7: I just found that story out a couple of weeks.
• 5:32
  Speaker 3: Lot of story.
• 5:33
Speaker 7: Yeah, wow, Yeah, I remember. I mean I was in
• 5:36
Speaker 7: school when it happened, and they dismissed us, and of
• 5:38
Speaker 7: course you had kind of you couldn't really understand what's
• 5:40
Speaker 7: going on, right, But I feel like as the years
• 5:42
Speaker 7: go by, you realize how more and more significant that
• 5:45
  Speaker 7: day was.
• 5:46
Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, well, I mean it was a hot he
• 5:47
Speaker 3: talked about on this commentary this morning. It was for
• 5:49
Speaker 3: this generation, our pearl Harbor. You know, where were you
• 5:52
Speaker 3: on that date? And as I said in the intro,
• 5:55
Speaker 3: you know I was actually on the air and the
• 5:57
Speaker 3: radio in Logan when the store we just aired Paul Harvey,
• 6:00
Speaker 3: as a matter of fact, Paul Harvey News and Comment
• 6:03
Speaker 3: and then we started getting the alerts on the old
• 6:05
Speaker 3: We had the old at that time, the old associated
• 6:07
Speaker 3: press wire machine, and we hadn't made the changeover to
• 6:11
Speaker 3: computers on that aspect yet, and it just started going crazy.
• 6:15
Speaker 3: And of course we had a like I said, just
• 6:17
Speaker 3: down the hall from the radio, from the control room,
• 6:19
Speaker 3: we had a television set up in the in the
• 6:22
Speaker 3: sale department. That's about the time eight thirty issue in
• 6:25
Speaker 3: the morning when all the salespeople came in. And so,
• 6:27
Speaker 3: I mean, we just a nobody really knew what to do.
• 6:29
Speaker 3: I mean, do you continue on playing music? Do you continue?
• 6:34
Speaker 3: I mean, what am I going to say in Logan,
• 6:36
Speaker 3: West Virginia to tell you what's going on New York.
• 6:38
Speaker 3: So we made the decision eventually to just turn it
• 6:40
Speaker 3: over to ABC and you know, let them cover. Let's
• 6:43
Speaker 3: move on. I want to talk about we now know
• 6:45
Speaker 3: the dates of the special session, the governor making that
• 6:49
Speaker 3: announcement Amelia on Monday that the legislature will be called
• 6:52
Speaker 3: in on September thirtieth. We don't know exactly what the
• 6:54
Speaker 3: call for will be. You cover a great deal of
• 6:58
Speaker 3: things in your work with West Virginia. But you know,
• 7:01
Speaker 3: you're you're probably best known what you do best. You
• 7:04
Speaker 3: do it all well, But is your coverage of child issues?
• 7:08
Speaker 3: Are you very hopeful that something's going to happen in
• 7:10
  Speaker 3: the special session?
• 7:12
  Speaker 2: Yes and no.
• 7:14
Speaker 7: So I am hopeful that we will see this child
• 7:18
Speaker 7: Independent Care tax Credit, which is one part of the
• 7:21
Speaker 7: puzzle of the childcare problem in West Virginia as affordability.
• 7:26
Speaker 7: Governor Justice has said families are paying about six hundred
• 7:28
Speaker 7: to seven hundred dollars a month on childcare. Nationally, that
• 7:31
Speaker 7: number is about ten thousand a month, and which is crazy, right,
• 7:36
  Speaker 7: I mean, that's I'm sorry, I'm ten thousand a year. Sorry,
• 7:38
  Speaker 7: that's a crazy number.
• 7:39
  Speaker 3: But I yes, I.
• 7:41
Speaker 7: Think we will see that. I don't know how it
• 7:44
Speaker 7: will be received. We haven't seen the warmest welcome to that.
• 7:47
Speaker 7: But also lawmakers have been clear we haven't seen the
• 7:50
  Speaker 7: plan exactly.
• 7:50
  Speaker 4: So I think we'll see.
• 7:51
Speaker 7: That TBD if it will be approved, but I don't
• 7:55
Speaker 7: know that we'll see other bills that could address other
• 7:59
  Speaker 7: issues in childcare.
• 8:01
Speaker 3: For those who haven't read your work or may not
• 8:03
Speaker 3: follow you on social media, and shame on you, by
• 8:05
Speaker 3: the way, if you if you aren't reading what she's
• 8:07
Speaker 3: doing right now. One of the biggest issues West Virginia
• 8:10
Speaker 3: is facing is this childcare crisis. And we've seen it
• 8:13
Speaker 3: manifest itself a milia in so many different forms, you know,
• 8:17
Speaker 3: from the from the death of the of the young
• 8:20
Speaker 3: lady in Boone County to a certain extent, what was
• 8:22
Speaker 3: going on out in Cistonville, you know, with that situation,
• 8:25
Speaker 3: and there's so many of these things that just keep
• 8:27
Speaker 3: compounding themselves over and over. I guess the biggest question,
• 8:31
Speaker 3: and if you could answer this question, you wouldn't be
• 8:32
Speaker 3: sitting in a radio studio in Charleston, West Virginia right now.
• 8:36
Speaker 3: How how did we get here? I mean, how did
• 8:39
Speaker 3: we get here? And more importantly that's the million dollar
• 8:41
Speaker 3: the two million dollar question is how do we solve this.
• 8:45
Speaker 7: In regards specifically told care, child welfare.
• 8:48
Speaker 3: All the above. Yeah you got thirty seconds.
• 8:51
  Speaker 2: I mean.
• 8:53
Speaker 7: Yeah, I first of all, there's no where I'd rather be.
• 8:56
Speaker 7: But I think it's an investment, right. I think, if
• 8:58
Speaker 7: I've learned anything from being a reporter who covers state
• 9:01
Speaker 7: government over the years, where you put your money is
• 9:04
Speaker 7: where you will get your return, and it also shows
• 9:06
Speaker 7: your priorities. And it's not that simple. We can't just
• 9:09
Speaker 7: make up money, right, We can't just print money. But
• 9:11
Speaker 7: I think when we have these surplus dollars that we're
• 9:14
Speaker 7: hearing about, but we aren't funding childcare, there's also issues
• 9:17
Speaker 7: in child welfare with funding that is reflected in how
• 9:20
Speaker 7: those services play out. For sure.
• 9:23
Speaker 3: Do you think it's safe to say that, And I
• 9:26
Speaker 3: brought this up a little bit on the air last week,
• 9:27
Speaker 3: that some of some of your reporting has ruffled a
• 9:30
Speaker 3: few feathers. Yes, it has. Yes, I think.
• 9:37
Speaker 7: This administration has been challenging to cover you. Yeah, there's
• 9:41
Speaker 7: always a push and pull between communications and reporters, but
• 9:45
Speaker 7: it is very difficult to write about complicated things. Childcare,
• 9:49
Speaker 7: for example, has federal state funding requirements, all these things
• 9:53
Speaker 7: that are complicated, and when you can't get an email
• 9:56
Speaker 7: returned from the people who run childcare in West Virginia
• 9:59
Speaker 7: or from the gover administration, that coupled with then sometimes
• 10:04
Speaker 7: they come back and say that we're manifesting crises or
• 10:08
Speaker 7: that were you know, just out there to attack them.
• 10:10
Speaker 3: Has Definitely that's kind of what I was referring to
• 10:13
Speaker 3: because I mentioned that on the show last week. There
• 10:14
Speaker 3: was one particular snarky little comment made somebody and this
• 10:17
Speaker 3: was not with the Governor's office, by the way, but
• 10:19
Speaker 3: it was within the administration who made a comment about
• 10:23
Speaker 3: and I forget exactly I'm not even gonna justify it
• 10:25
Speaker 3: by saying exactly what it was, but it was basically
• 10:27
Speaker 3: something saying that you were just starting the crap, basically
• 10:31
Speaker 3: like and that you weren't very good at what you did.
• 10:33
  Speaker 3: And I find that's I think that's just downright insulting.
• 10:37
  Speaker 3: I really, I really do.
• 10:38
Speaker 7: Well, thank you it. Yeah, I mean, I think as
• 10:40
Speaker 7: a journalist, we don't want the story to become about us, right,
• 10:43
Speaker 7: and so there's a little bit of a fine line
• 10:44
Speaker 7: of how much do I share with the public versus
• 10:47
Speaker 7: you know, this is just doing my job right, But yeah,
• 10:50
Speaker 7: it's it has been difficult and challenging, but I have
• 10:53
Speaker 7: to remain vigilant that reporters are an important part of
• 10:57
Speaker 7: democracy and I have to keep my head on straight
• 11:00
Speaker 7: and just keep pursuing facts.
• 11:01
Speaker 3: But Dave Allen showing five Aadie lie Bright to you,
• 11:03
Speaker 3: part by your hometown baseball team, the Charleston Dirty Birds.
• 11:06
Speaker 3: Birds wrapping up the regular season with a road series
• 11:08
Speaker 3: against Gastonia through the weekend. For tickets, merchandise promotions and
• 11:11
Speaker 3: more of visit dirty birds baseball dot com so to
• 11:13
Speaker 3: hold it out of that chance that they may make
• 11:15
Speaker 3: the playoffs. So what are you looking at? Like the
• 11:18
Speaker 3: nicet couple of days, what are you looking at?
• 11:20
Speaker 7: So I think this childcare issue is really what I'm
• 11:23
Speaker 7: focused on right now as we go into that special
• 11:25
Speaker 7: session at the end of the year. I'd also like
• 11:28
Speaker 7: to bring up something that I think we talked about
• 11:30
Speaker 7: last time I was here is and you mentioned this,
• 11:32
Speaker 7: Kennedy Miller's death in Boone County has been one of
• 11:35
Speaker 7: the biggest stories of the year. This is the fourteen
• 11:37
Speaker 7: year old girl who was found emaciated, who was being homeschooled.
• 11:40
Speaker 7: And we heard a lot of talk during the May
• 11:44
Speaker 7: special session and the summer that we would do something
• 11:48
Speaker 7: with homeschool regulations or Foyer laws in response to Kennedy's death.
• 11:53
Speaker 7: And here we are in September and that really is
• 11:56
Speaker 7: not being talked about at all, And so that is
• 11:57
Speaker 7: on my radar to kind of follow up on what
• 12:00
Speaker 7: did we learn from this child's tragic death and if
• 12:04
Speaker 7: tightening homeschool regulations or how schools follow up on homeschool
• 12:08
Speaker 7: students could prevent another tragedy. I think that's something that
• 12:12
Speaker 7: needs to be part of the conversation. And Governor Justice
• 12:14
Speaker 7: had said there would be action on that or he
• 12:16
Speaker 7: would try to have action on that an upcoming special session,
• 12:19
Speaker 7: but that certainly hasn't been mentioned. And as we go
• 12:22
Speaker 7: into the September special.
• 12:23
Speaker 3: Seton and again that's going to be September thirtieth. Were
• 12:25
Speaker 3: you in Parkersburg for the interims? Yes, Okay, any exciting
• 12:29
Speaker 3: stuff come out. I know sometimes interims are just about
• 12:32
Speaker 3: you know, some can be signed to boring meetings as
• 12:34
Speaker 3: or whatever. Anything come out of the interims, be interested,
• 12:36
Speaker 3: you not too interesting.
• 12:38
Speaker 7: Parkersburg was a wonderful host. Parkersburg is great. Yeah, I
• 12:41
Speaker 7: think it was a little odd. We just finished interims
• 12:43
Speaker 7: where there were some media discussions, and now we have
• 12:45
Speaker 7: the special session, so I think these were a little
• 12:48
Speaker 7: bit less meaty and subject matter. But we did have
• 12:52
Speaker 7: a press conference yesterday where House Democrats talked about childcare.
• 12:56
Speaker 7: So I think that is definitely on people's mind, is
• 12:58
Speaker 7: how do we get the governor to span this call
• 13:01
Speaker 7: to get another some other bills on there, not just
• 13:04
  Speaker 7: his tax credit.

Speaker 3: Want to quickly throw this out of your Last week Friday,
• 17:00
Speaker 3: I think it was I got a text to the
• 17:01
Speaker 3: show from a listener who is concerned that they could
• 17:04
Speaker 3: no longer monitor Metro nine to one one calls here
• 17:06
Speaker 3: in the Charleston area. I sent that text to Metro
• 17:09
Speaker 3: nine to one one director Johnny Rutherford, along with the
• 17:11
Speaker 3: number that was provided to me by the text. The
• 17:14
Speaker 3: texter responded that mister Rutherford and his team were looking
• 17:18
Speaker 3: into the situation. Yesterday, I had communication with Johnny Rutherford
• 17:22
Speaker 3: saying the following, and I'm going to paraphrase it a
• 17:24
Speaker 3: little bit. Apparently the problem was with Broadcastify and that platform.
• 17:29
Speaker 3: It was marked as offline, which is something that is
• 17:31
Speaker 3: outside the control of Metro Radio Group, and that is
• 17:35
Speaker 3: out of their control and we don't know who to
• 17:37
Speaker 3: contact about it. So there you go. Texture, The problem
• 17:40
Speaker 3: with Metro nine to one one is with the provider.
• 17:42
Speaker 3: And I'm a little out of my lane here because
• 17:44
Speaker 3: I know absolutely nothing about this stuff, but just want
• 17:47
Speaker 3: to do you may a texture, you may want to
• 17:50

Speaker 3: apparently it is their problem. Always glad to be at

Speaker 3: Also a special of it coming up called Chef's Challenge.
• 18:10
Speaker 3: I will get into that. Want to walk home to
• 18:12
Speaker 3: the show now. State Senator Mike Stewart, Good morning, sir,
• 18:14
Speaker 3: Welcome to the show.
• 18:15
Speaker 4: Hey, good morning, thanks for having me.
• 18:17
Speaker 3: I know you're going to want to talk about. I
• 18:18
Speaker 3: want to get your take on the debate last you.
• 18:20
Speaker 6: Say though on the Texter, the Texter who said that
• 18:23
Speaker 6: Jim Justice small man, I've never heard those two in
• 18:25
Speaker 6: the same thing as before.
• 18:27
Speaker 3: He's got jokes. He comes loaded with jokes this morning.
• 18:30
Speaker 3: I do want to get your take a little bit
• 18:32
Speaker 3: later on though on the debate last night, because I
• 18:35
Speaker 3: want you to weigh in that. But one thing I
• 18:37
Speaker 3: wanted to bring up is your involvement or you're jumping
• 18:42
Speaker 3: into help or whatever it is you want to call it.
• 18:44
Speaker 3: And this all has to do with protection for kids
• 18:46
Speaker 3: playing football. This tragic death of the young man from
• 18:49
Speaker 3: Boom County the discussion has turned Mike a senator to
• 18:53
Speaker 3: these guardian caps, a further layer of protection placed on
• 18:57
Speaker 3: the top of the regular helmets. They've been used in
• 18:59
Speaker 3: college and the pro, normally more in practice type settings. Actually,
• 19:03
Speaker 3: this past week on the NFL, I saw in the
• 19:05
Speaker 3: Steelers game that one of their players was wearing one
• 19:08
Speaker 3: in in game. What about this story? And I know
• 19:12
Speaker 3: you cover that area as state center, but what about
• 19:14
Speaker 3: this story? Is this guy the gut? You so involved
• 19:17
  Speaker 3: in it?
• 19:18
  Speaker 7: Well?
• 19:18
Speaker 6: I tell you this is as a father, when you
• 19:21
Speaker 6: hear a story like this, this, it breaks your heart.
• 19:23
Speaker 6: And Coencratick an ordinary boy on an ordinary day out
• 19:28
Speaker 6: playing football like many of our kids do when they
• 19:31
Speaker 6: play athletics, and mom and dad looking on and other
• 19:35
Speaker 6: parents looking on, and a head hit, an ordinary head
• 19:40
Speaker 6: hit that drops them to the ground, and and this
• 19:44
Speaker 6: tragic death. Listen, this is common sense today. When football
• 19:48
Speaker 6: started a lot of people don't realize there were not
• 19:50
Speaker 6: helmets when football started. The game of football started more
• 19:53
Speaker 6: than one hundred years ago. Then we went to leather helmets,
• 19:56
Speaker 6: then we went to plastic helmets. This is a natural
• 19:59
Speaker 6: PROGRESSI of student athletic safety. We know the science is
• 20:03
Speaker 6: definitive today chronic head trauma, and not every case. Most
• 20:08
Speaker 6: cases don't end as tragically as Cohen Craddock's death on
• 20:13
Speaker 6: the football field, but most pile up over time. It's
• 20:17
Speaker 6: the trauma today that leads to next week, that leads
• 20:20
Speaker 6: to the following week. And we may not see it
• 20:22
Speaker 6: on the football field or in the classroom, but most
• 20:25
Speaker 6: of these kids aren't growing up to be NFL stars.
• 20:28
Speaker 6: They're growing up to be moms and dads and community
• 20:31
Speaker 6: leaders and small business people. And we ought to be
• 20:34
Speaker 6: doing everything we can within common sense and common constraint
• 20:38
Speaker 6: to protect this perpetual head trauma that shows up twenty
• 20:42
Speaker 6: years and thirty years later. This is perfect, perfect common sense.
• 20:47
Speaker 6: And when you see the NFL and college football teams
• 20:51
Speaker 6: taking that extra added layer of protection, I have no
• 20:55
Speaker 6: idea why we haven't moved this direction already. This makes
• 20:59
Speaker 6: common sense. I think the athletes on the field want
• 21:02
Speaker 6: this to happen. I'm surprised, based off what I've looked
• 21:06
Speaker 6: at so far, is that no state in the country
• 21:08
Speaker 6: has taken the extra step to protect our kids from
• 21:11
Speaker 6: the head trauma that happens every day on football fields,
• 21:15
Speaker 6: volleyball courts, lacrosse fields play in soccer. We just need
• 21:20
Speaker 6: to be smarter. We love competition, we love seeing our
• 21:23
Speaker 6: kids out there compete. We love that they're engaged in
• 21:26
Speaker 6: extracurricular activities, but we need to be smarter. And West
• 21:30
Speaker 6: Virginia can lead the effort for the country on this
• 21:34
Speaker 6: tragic effort and turn it into something positive. Cohen Cradox.
• 21:39
Speaker 6: Untimely tragic passing can turn into saving countless people across
• 21:45
Speaker 6: this country and keeping families from morning to celebrate. In
• 21:49
Speaker 6: that touchdown on the field, I had an hour and
• 21:52
Speaker 6: a half call with the Guardian Cap folks, and for
• 21:55
Speaker 6: folks who don't know, it's like bubble wrap around your head, Yeah,
• 21:58
Speaker 6: pretty much like bubble wrap around your head, but more
• 22:01
Speaker 6: industrial style. They're not the only ones who have this
• 22:04
Speaker 6: type of head protection. And the nfl WU has been
• 22:09
Speaker 6: one of the leaders in this regard in terms of
• 22:11
Speaker 6: head trauma science, the data behind it to know how
• 22:15
Speaker 6: chronic it can be. And I intend to introduce a
• 22:18
Speaker 6: bill of this coming session that won't speak specifically to
• 22:21
Speaker 6: guardian caps, but speaks to the need for us to
• 22:25
Speaker 6: be more cognizant, more aware. In fact, I've urged county
• 22:30
Speaker 6: boards of Education in the WVSSAC to now begin the
• 22:34
Speaker 6: effort of examining student athletic safety on the field and
• 22:39
Speaker 6: on the court to make sure we're doing all we
• 22:41
Speaker 6: can in a common sense way to protect our kids.
• 22:43
Speaker 6: It's common sense we need to do this. It doesn't
• 22:46
Speaker 6: cost much money to put every kid if we did
• 22:49
Speaker 6: this in West Virginia, every kid on the football field
• 22:52
Speaker 6: from grade school to high school, and a guardian cap
• 22:56
Speaker 6: is about forty dollars.
• 22:57
Speaker 3: Forty dollars to be clear, you're talking about endgame as well.
• 23:00
Speaker 6: Right, Well, so I've said, and I'm open to a
• 23:03
Speaker 6: discussion on this, but anytime there's contact in practice, for sure,
• 23:08
Speaker 6: but definitely at the grade school, in middle school level.
• 23:12
Speaker 6: It ought to be in game as well. But I
• 23:14
Speaker 6: would welcome a discussion. Listen, no bill passes without a
• 23:17
Speaker 6: negotiation or a discussion. So I'm open to a discussion,
• 23:20
Speaker 6: but I'm not open to folks saying we don't need
• 23:23
Speaker 6: that right now. We don't need that right now. And
• 23:25
Speaker 6: in fact, if I were a helmet manufacturer, I'd be
• 23:28
Speaker 6: adding a guardian cap or some other protective covering. And
• 23:32
Speaker 6: so what I've seen even over the past few weeks
• 23:34
Speaker 6: is that there's a bit of a street fight between
• 23:37
Speaker 6: those folks who sell helmets and those folks who sell
• 23:39
Speaker 6: the extra protection. But all I do is look at
• 23:42
Speaker 6: the NFL and as a dad, and I know that
• 23:45
Speaker 6: when my kids were playing volleyball at George Washington, and
• 23:48
Speaker 6: I could see when those young ladies were up there
• 23:51
Speaker 6: spiking the ball at sixty sixty five miles per hour
• 23:54
Speaker 6: and kids were hitting the court and getting hit by
• 23:57
Speaker 6: the ball and causing them head trauma or can go rushians.
• 24:01
Speaker 6: I even said back then, why aren't they wearing any
• 24:03
Speaker 6: sort of head protection? It just seems to make common sense.
• 24:06
Speaker 6: We need to step up, and I've been encouraged even
• 24:09
Speaker 6: the Governor for this special session that's coming up. Let's
• 24:11
Speaker 6: do it now. Let's not wait till next year. Let's
• 24:14
Speaker 6: avoid another tragedy. This is so easy for us to fix.
• 24:18
Speaker 6: Let's do it now. Let's not wait.

Speaker 3: I say Mike Stewart's coming on the show, I get
• 24:34
Speaker 3: text and I had one yesterday and I can't, for
• 24:37
Speaker 3: the life of me see to find it, but I
• 24:38
Speaker 3: will paraphrase it. And it basically was saying that from you,
• 24:42
Speaker 3: you know, hear me out in this This was a
• 24:43
Speaker 3: texture that from you. It was kind of a weird
• 24:46
Speaker 3: flex because you were someone who I think was pretty
• 24:48
Speaker 3: adamantly against mask mandates. And why what's the difference between
• 24:52
Speaker 3: the two I have. I think that's an unfair comparison.
• 24:57
Speaker 3: I have my opinion, But what would you say to that.
• 25:00
Speaker 6: I think at any point when you look at my
• 25:02
Speaker 6: career over the long term, it's been about protecting our kids.
• 25:05
  Speaker 6: That's been a common thing.
• 25:07
Speaker 3: And so my point exactly kids, whether we're kids at whether.
• 25:11
Speaker 4: We're talking about child welfare.
• 25:13
Speaker 6: And I've been one of the few people loudly saying
• 25:16
Speaker 6: we need a full, deep dive, independent investigation the child
• 25:20
Speaker 6: welfare system to be able to make sure the system
• 25:23
Speaker 6: works better. Our system is broken. We're making improvements, We're
• 25:27
Speaker 6: doing the best we can to try to make improvements,
• 25:28
Speaker 6: but guess what, it's broken. It needs to be fixed.
• 25:32
Speaker 4: We need to worry.
• 25:33
Speaker 6: Less about who's going to get in trouble from a
• 25:36
Speaker 6: deep dive investigation, but we need to do it. On
• 25:39
Speaker 6: the issue of guardian caps, it's common sense. As a
• 25:42
Speaker 6: mom and dad, I can tell you moms and dads
• 25:43
Speaker 6: from across West Virginia and across the country for that matter,
• 25:46
Speaker 6: are reaching out to me right now. Former coaches here
• 25:50
Speaker 6: in West Virginia are reaching out to me saying this
• 25:52
Speaker 6: is something that needs to be done. It's common sense
• 25:55
Speaker 6: when you look at the issue of dispensaries in the
• 25:58
Speaker 6: marijuana issue. I've all spoken in terms of protecting our kids.
• 26:02
Speaker 6: The common theme of everything I've done throughout my career
• 26:05
Speaker 6: is focus on protecting our kids, and so I'm going
• 26:08
Speaker 6: to continue to do that.
• 26:09
Speaker 4: I didn't ask to be on your show today.
• 26:10
Speaker 6: I was invited to be out yeah, exactly, and didn't
• 26:13
  Speaker 6: solicit it.
• 26:14
Speaker 4: This is something I reached out to you.
• 26:15
Speaker 3: I reach out to you.
• 26:16
Speaker 6: It's something I believe in, and we're going to continue
• 26:19
Speaker 6: to fight for these issues. I may not look at
• 26:21
Speaker 6: the world exactly the same as other people. I have
• 26:24
Speaker 6: my view, but I think the most important thing we
• 26:26
Speaker 6: can do is protect our children. All across West Virginia,
• 26:29
Speaker 6: whether it's from drugs, whether it's on the football field
• 26:32
Speaker 6: or otherwise, that's always going to be where I focus
• 26:34
  Speaker 6: my time.
• 26:36
Speaker 3: Tex says ask Mike. I gun violence kills more kids
• 26:39
Speaker 3: and playing football, why not get bulletproof vest for kids?
• 26:41
Speaker 6: So everybody likes to throw the stuff out there, and
• 26:43
Speaker 6: that's just sort of a ridiculous question. I get it
• 26:46
Speaker 6: that I'm a target for these types of questions, but
• 26:48
Speaker 6: I believe that guns also protect public, the public through
• 26:53
Speaker 6: the safety of making sure they're safe inside their owns.
• 26:57
Speaker 6: When you have folks coming across the border like we
• 26:59
Speaker 6: do today, when you have drug dealers on our streets
• 27:02
Speaker 6: like you do today, when you have the homeless problem
• 27:05
Speaker 6: and mental health issues that we do today, I think
• 27:08
Speaker 6: those folks who have the protection of a firearm, those
• 27:13
Speaker 6: aren't folks who are causing issues on our streets. And
• 27:16
Speaker 6: so I think we can have a broad discussion on
• 27:19
Speaker 6: this and use common sense. But we've gotten to a
• 27:21
Speaker 6: point where the politics is so bitter that if you
• 27:24
Speaker 6: have any opinion on anything, folks just want to undercut you.
• 27:27
Speaker 6: They don't want to have good discussions. Ad somebody on
• 27:29
Speaker 6: social media it's a media person, but on social media,
• 27:32
Speaker 6: they say the worst things about me, just terrible. And
• 27:35
Speaker 6: they called me one day for common on a story
• 27:38
Speaker 6: and I called them back and they said, hey, do
• 27:39
Speaker 6: you know who I am. I said, yeah, you're the
• 27:40
Speaker 6: person who says all that bad stuff about me on
• 27:42
Speaker 6: social media. And they said, well, well, but that's social media.
• 27:46
Speaker 6: That's social media. That's different than when I call you.
• 27:48
Speaker 6: And I said, listen, you should be the same way
• 27:50
Speaker 6: on social media as you are when you speak to
• 27:52
Speaker 6: me on the phone. And I don't care if you're liberal, conservative,
• 27:56
Speaker 6: if you support President Trump or you support Vice President Harris.
• 28:00
Speaker 6: We can be civil in our discussions. We can agree
• 28:03
Speaker 6: and disagree strongly, but it doesn't mean we have to
• 28:07
Speaker 6: be so disrespectful in our conduct of our discussion. And
• 28:11
Speaker 6: I think that's where we need to begin in having
• 28:14
Speaker 6: these honest discussions. These are serious issues, but it doesn't
• 28:18
Speaker 6: mean we don't like each other and can't get along.
• 28:20
Speaker 3: At the end of the day, let's talk about the
• 28:22
Speaker 3: debate last night. You know you in a full disclosure
• 28:25
Speaker 3: former head of the Trump campaign twenty sixteenth in West Virginia.
• 28:30
Speaker 3: So what was your takeaway last night?
• 28:32
Speaker 4: So I think today i'd be surprised.
• 28:34
Speaker 6: If you can find anybody who didn't support President Trump
• 28:37
Speaker 6: or didn't support Vice President Harris that changed their mind
• 28:40
Speaker 6: last night, Listen, nothing burger, We're going to cover this thing.
• 28:43
Speaker 6: But the reality is these debates aren't a big deal anymore.
• 28:47
Speaker 6: We cover them like they're massive. We look for how
• 28:50
Speaker 6: did he stand and how did she look? What did
• 28:52
Speaker 6: he say? What did she say? Where's the good glib
• 28:55
Speaker 6: one line or The reality is nobody changed their minds
• 28:58
Speaker 6: where it exactly the same. But today as we were yesterday,
• 29:02
Speaker 6: and this comment more, we're even we're dug in now
• 29:05
Speaker 6: where if we're dug in and you can look at
• 29:06
Speaker 6: his comment about this or what she said about that, Listen,
• 29:10
Speaker 6: it's a ninety minute debate. I'd rather look at records
• 29:14
Speaker 6: over the long term. I'm voting for President Trump. I'm
• 29:17
Speaker 6: voting because I think it's incredibly important for our country.
• 29:21
Speaker 6: And I realized there's some folks who disagree with that.
• 29:23
Speaker 6: I respect that. But anybody telling me that the entire
• 29:27
Speaker 6: basis of how they vote in this election is based
• 29:29
Speaker 6: off some ninety minute debate on television, that's gobbledy guck.
• 29:35
  Speaker 4: That's garbage. No, I don't believe it for a second.
• 29:37
Speaker 3: And I tend to agree with you on that, Mike, Senator.
• 29:40
Speaker 3: But what about those that are undecided? There are some
• 29:44
Speaker 3: out there. I don't know anybody personally in my bubble
• 29:46
Speaker 3: in West Virginia, but let's say go out there are
• 29:49
Speaker 3: still they say, in especially some of the swing states.
• 29:51
Speaker 3: And you know how this works, there are still people
• 29:53
Speaker 3: that may be undecided. Were they swayed in any way
• 29:56
Speaker 3: last night or did they just look at both of
• 29:58
Speaker 3: them and say, you know, screw, I'm out.
• 30:01
Speaker 6: I think this election comes down to two questions, right,
• 30:03
Speaker 6: which is, are you better off today than you were
• 30:05
Speaker 6: four years ago? That's that's always the measure. Are you
• 30:09
Speaker 6: doing better today than you were four years ago? And two,
• 30:12
Speaker 6: I think there are a lot of folks that want change,
• 30:14
Speaker 6: but they want to make sure the next four years
• 30:16
Speaker 6: aren't chaos. And so when they look at the Trump
• 30:18
Speaker 6: team and the Trump campaign, I think if they can
• 30:22
Speaker 6: understand and feel comfortable that we're not looking at four
• 30:25
Speaker 6: years of chaos, I think he wins this race.
• 30:28
  Speaker 4: His job.
• 30:28
Speaker 3: Aren't we under chaos with Trump?
• 30:30
  Speaker 6: Mike?
• 30:31
  Speaker 4: That's my point.
• 30:32
Speaker 6: I think there are a lot of folks who look
• 30:33
Speaker 6: at the first four years and say, gosh, it was exhausting.
• 30:37
Speaker 4: Right, There were always big changes. His record was big.
• 30:40
Speaker 6: He did a great job in my view, but it
• 30:42
Speaker 6: was always unpredictable, day after day after day. I think
• 30:45
Speaker 6: there are a lot of soccer moms out there, a
• 30:48
Speaker 6: lot of suburban people who are saying, if it's not
• 30:51
Speaker 6: going to be chaos, i'll support President Trump. His job
• 30:54
Speaker 6: between now an election day is to make it clear
• 30:57
Speaker 6: this is not going to be an administration of chaos.
• 31:00
Speaker 6: It's going to be an administration of economic and social
• 31:04
Speaker 6: renewal across the country. But the chaos thing, I think
• 31:07
Speaker 6: that's what people are frustrated by.
• 31:08
Speaker 3: And I get that. And especially he hasn't helped that
• 31:11
Speaker 3: Senator by saying things like using terms like retribution and
• 31:15
Speaker 3: things of that nature when he gets into office. I
• 31:18
Speaker 3: mean he doesn't really he could, I feel, Mike, with
• 31:21
Speaker 3: all due respect, I think that former President Trump could
• 31:23
Speaker 3: go a long way into possibly helping his own cause
• 31:29
Speaker 3: I don't know last night that he did that.
• 31:31
  Speaker 6: Well.
• 31:31
  Speaker 4: I don't disagree with you.
• 31:32
Speaker 6: What I'd love to hear from him, and I doubt
• 31:34
Speaker 6: we're gonna hear it is I wasn't perfect that every
• 31:37
Speaker 6: day I got up. I worked hard for the American people,
• 31:40
Speaker 6: and this time I'm going to work just as hard,
• 31:43
Speaker 6: and I'm gonna show you how I learned from those
• 31:46
Speaker 6: things I did that weren't perfect. I think if he
• 31:48
Speaker 6: were just to say a few things like that, I
• 31:51
Speaker 6: think it would go a long way to close in
• 31:53
Speaker 6: the deal out. People want change. They understand that Harris
• 31:56
Speaker 6: is the same. It's the same policies we have in place.
• 32:00
Speaker 6: When I go to the grocery store, when I get
• 32:03
Speaker 6: my utility bills at the end of the month, when
• 32:05
Speaker 6: I fill up my truck with gasoline, it's not President
• 32:09
Speaker 6: Trump is responsible for that. When we look at chaos
• 32:11
Speaker 6: on the border, it's not President Trump that's responsible for that.
• 32:15
Speaker 6: When we look at the inconsistent policies with respect to
• 32:17
Speaker 6: the Middle East, when we look at the hundreds of
• 32:20
Speaker 6: billions of dollars we're spending in Ukraine in an endless war,
• 32:24
Speaker 6: that's not President Trump. I think people are hungry for change.
• 32:28
Speaker 6: All they want to know is that I'm going to
• 32:30
Speaker 6: have four years without chaos. They want to make sure
• 32:32
Speaker 6: that there's a good, everyday effort to try to focus
• 32:36
Speaker 6: on the American people.
• 32:37
  Speaker 4: That's his job.
• 32:38
Speaker 6: Between nine Election day is to make it clear this
• 32:40
Speaker 6: won't be chaos, this will be an organized rebuild of
• 32:43
  Speaker 6: our country.
• 32:44
Speaker 3: Say Senator Mike Stewart, always a pleasure to have you
• 32:46
Speaker 3: in a show man, And.
• 32:47
Speaker 4: It's nine to eleven. I just went to end with this.
• 32:49
Speaker 6: Let's roll, let's roll in the words of Todd Biemer,
• 32:52
Speaker 6: and I'll never forget where I was on that day.
• 32:54
Speaker 6: My daughter, ironically, a nine to eleven baby, works across
• 32:58
Speaker 6: the street from the nine to eleven more Oriel today
• 33:01
Speaker 6: and I pray for those folks. I still get emotional
• 33:03
Speaker 6: when I think back to nine to eleven. Our country
• 33:07
Speaker 6: is slowing slowly, forgetting, forgetting agreed the importance of that
• 33:11
Speaker 6: day and what it meant for this country. We've never
• 33:13
Speaker 6: been the same since. And I think of Todd Beemer often.
• 33:17
Speaker 6: He was the guy on that flight that organized everybody
• 33:22
Speaker 6: to take that plane down to avoid it going into Washington,
• 33:26
Speaker 6: and who knows what the target would have been, but
• 33:28
Speaker 6: I admire him. He's an American hero, and I say
• 33:31
Speaker 6: it often. Every nine to eleven I say a prayer
• 33:34
Speaker 6: for him. Letural all right.
• 33:37

• 37:49
Speaker 3: keep sticking out in my head that I'm hearing last night.
• 37:53
Speaker 3: They're eating the dogs, the people that came in. They're

Speaker 3: eating the cats. I can't get that out of my head.
• 38:00
Speaker 3: I'm sorry. I just when I heard that last night.
• 38:02
Speaker 3: From that and by the way, that story has been
• 38:04
Speaker 3: debunked by let's see, the Springfield Police Department, by the
• 38:12
Speaker 3: mayor's office in Springfield, and also by the Republican governor
• 38:16
Speaker 3: of Ohio who also said that. Mike Dwine has said
• 38:20
Speaker 3: that that's not happening. Tex says debates can move the needle.
• 38:25
Speaker 3: The last debate with Biden moved the needle big time. Agreed,
• 38:28
Speaker 3: don't dismiss them outright. That is a mistake, says the TEXTA.
• 38:32
Speaker 3: Checter says, didn't Democrats say the same thing about after
• 38:35
Speaker 3: the first debate saying that they don't matter or something
• 38:37
Speaker 3: of that effect. And yeah, I would agree with that, man,
• 38:41
Speaker 3: if I could this one. I think wrote a book.
• 38:44
Speaker 3: I'm going to read as much of it as I can.
• 38:46
Speaker 3: Harris knew where and how to hit Trump on a
• 38:49
Speaker 3: personal level. She figured out how to not only press
• 38:52
Speaker 3: his buttons, but calls him to abandon rational thinking. As
• 38:55
Speaker 3: a result, he played to win the battle, not the war,
• 38:57
Speaker 3: and ended up losing his way on both. Harris did
• 39:00
Speaker 3: not do enough to win voters who key in on ecotomy,
• 39:04
Speaker 3: energy or physical policy. If she wants moderates and independence,
• 39:07
Speaker 3: they aren't sold on last night's ability to square Trump
• 39:11
Speaker 3: or force him to go off the tangents. They need
• 39:14
Speaker 3: more tangible, documented policy stances in order to commit. Otherwise
• 39:17
Speaker 3: these voters will go another way or will swallow hard
• 39:20
Speaker 3: and vote for Trump. Trump should have owned her on immigration,
• 39:23
Speaker 3: and he fumbled it. Still worried about his addressing about
• 39:27
Speaker 3: perception saving face. He needed that issue to turn moment
• 39:30
Speaker 3: of back his way, and he botched him. Harris cornered
• 39:32
Speaker 3: him on abortion and won there. Moderate women will respond favorably.
• 39:37
Speaker 3: Trump needed to hit her on tax cuts and job
• 39:39
Speaker 3: acts which are set to expire. Need to press that
• 39:42
Speaker 3: under his administration those cuts would continue and under a
• 39:44
Speaker 3: Harris administration they would not. That was a huge mess
• 39:47
Speaker 3: and would have damned her with the economic focused voters.
• 39:50
Speaker 3: The junctaposition wasn't great for Trump. She won the optics
• 39:53
Speaker 3: battle and appearance vote. His frustrations sometimes play it as
• 39:56
Speaker 3: mental gas. Dems will try to hang that on him,
• 39:59
Speaker 3: just as he hung it on Biden. Doesn't know the
• 40:01
Speaker 3: difference between West Virginia and Virginia. Yeah, that's a big
• 40:04
Speaker 3: part of it too. I'll get into that if I
• 40:05
Speaker 3: can look for Harris to deny Trump another debate, she
• 40:08
Speaker 3: doesn't need it at this point. She can now focus
• 40:10
Speaker 3: on specific policy stances targeted to specific building blocks. He
• 40:14
Speaker 3: needs to rebound personally and regain the high ground on
• 40:16
Speaker 3: core issues like immigration. By the way, she came out
• 40:19
Speaker 3: afterwards and says she wants more debates. Somebody givin Strump
• 40:23
Speaker 3: not to be himself. He started out bottling of his
• 40:26
Speaker 3: emotion and his way of bantering. People may not like it,
• 40:28
Speaker 3: but generally who he is. When a candidate abandons who
• 40:31
Speaker 3: he is, good or bad, he's lost. Play nice or
• 40:34
Speaker 3: nice with Biden worked, It didn't last night. If you're
• 40:36
Speaker 3: going to be judged, be judged for what you are.
• 40:39
  Speaker 4: Own it.
• 40:39
Speaker 3: He followed bad advice, and that allowed Harris to get
• 40:42
Speaker 3: under his skin. If he proactively shuts down her from
• 40:45
Speaker 3: square one like he has with other people. She would
• 40:48
Speaker 3: not have had it in He could have played his
• 40:50
Speaker 3: game from that point on like the biggest mistake of

• 41:18
Speaker 3: I haven't heard before, so I turned it off. Tex
• 41:23
Speaker 3: says Dave, happy to let you know that Crewton made
• 41:26

• 41:28

• 41:30
Speaker 3: wake up. On a more serious note, please take time
• 41:32
Speaker 3: remember those who have lost their lives twenty three years
• 41:35
Speaker 3: ago today. That's a reference to Crewton, who is our
• 41:39

• 41:41
Speaker 3: a pet and adopted every Friday on the show, and
• 41:43
Speaker 3: Crewton was one of our pets. And the Texters there's
• 41:47
Speaker 3: the ones that adopted Crewton, and so yet that that
• 41:50
Speaker 3: was an absolutely, absolutely ridiculous moment by Trump. I mean
• 41:55
Speaker 3: it was absolutely just possitive.
• 41:56
Speaker 14: We're eating the dogs, the people that came in, they're
• 41:59
  Speaker 14: eating the cats.
• 42:03
Speaker 3: Tex said, going back to your comments on the Metro
• 42:06
Speaker 3: nine to one one feed, I got immediate response for
• 42:08
Speaker 3: Metro nine to one one regarding the radio feed. They
• 42:10
Speaker 3: were excellent and contacted me several times to update me
• 42:13
Speaker 3: and help. Tex says the debate was hilarious. It was sad.
• 42:17
Speaker 3: Trump has clearly lost it. It will never happen, but
• 42:20
Speaker 3: I hope he does the audible thing and drops out
• 42:22
Speaker 3: of the race. That ain't gonna happen. I'm likely to
• 42:27
Speaker 3: put on Washington Commander's gear to do this show before
• 42:31
Speaker 3: Donald Trump will ever drop out of anything, because it's
• 42:35
Speaker 3: it's just not gonna happen. Tex says, Dave, I support
• 42:39
Speaker 3: Guardian Caps, but I just can't take it seriously for
• 42:41
Speaker 3: Mike Stewart. Anytime there's a tragedy, it seemed like Mike
• 42:44
Speaker 3: magically shows up and inserts himself. I hope I'm wrong
• 42:47
Speaker 3: and they get this done. Texays, Hey, Dave, about the
• 42:50
Speaker 3: MAGA folks are truly disappointed and their dear leader frump
• 42:54

Speaker 3: Taylor Swift considers self a childless cat lady. Speaking of
• 46:58
Speaker 3: Taylor Swift's kudos to to producer Ryan Nicholson for bringing
• 47:01
Speaker 3: this up to me. It was in my copious amounts
• 47:03
Speaker 3: of notes here It came out last night after the
• 47:06
Speaker 3: debate that the biggest pop star, the biggest star in
• 47:09
Speaker 3: the planet, Taylor Swift, is endorsing for current Vice President
• 47:15
Speaker 3: Kamala Harris. Now, did you think for a moment that
• 47:19
Speaker 3: she was going to endorse Trump? I mean, let's be
• 47:21
Speaker 3: honest here and people, and I've been one that is
• 47:25
Speaker 3: kind of just you know whatever, celebrities. I don't care
• 47:27
Speaker 3: what a no, throw your ball, play your guitar. I
• 47:29
Speaker 3: really don't care what you think. But I'm gonna say
• 47:31
Speaker 3: this about Taylor Swift. I can't name a single Taylor
• 47:34
Speaker 3: Swift song, and it's probably good because I'm nearly fifty
• 47:36
Speaker 3: four years old. It would be weirdness hell if I did.
• 47:39
Speaker 3: But I will say this about Taylor Swift. She's the
• 47:42
Speaker 3: biggest star in the planet. And if you don't think
• 47:45
Speaker 3: that that endorsement means something, you might want to check
• 47:49
Speaker 3: the voter registration rolls of Vera McCormick here in Kanawa
• 47:52
Speaker 3: County or brian Wood or Putnam County or one of
• 47:53
Speaker 3: the other county clerks and see how many Swifties are
• 47:57
Speaker 3: seen today, whether they are regis stirred to vote, and
• 48:01
Speaker 3: where they go vote it's a big deal. It is
• 48:04
Speaker 3: a really really big deal. Again, I'm one that says
• 48:07
  Speaker 3: that celebrity I don't. I mean, they're entitled their opinions
• 48:11
Speaker 3: like everybody else. I don't think they should hold more
• 48:12
Speaker 3: water than the guy who is, you know, fixing your
• 48:15
Speaker 3: air conditioner or the person waiting on you at Wendy's.
• 48:18
Speaker 3: But you know, she's the biggest star on the planet,
• 48:22
Speaker 3: and I think it's going to go a long, long
• 48:25
Speaker 3: wait now on the whole thing with him saying that
• 48:30
Speaker 3: the former governor of West Virginia executed babies after they
• 48:35
Speaker 3: were born. Okay, first of all, he attributed that to
• 48:39
Speaker 3: the former West Virginia governor, which in this case would
• 48:41
Speaker 3: be Earl Ray Tomlin. I know Earl Ray Tomlin. That
• 48:46
Speaker 3: didn't happen. He was referring to Virginia Governor Rout Northam,
• 48:50
Speaker 3: and he didn't say that either. He was referring to
• 48:52
Speaker 3: late term pregnancies when fetuses are non viable, and that
• 48:56
Speaker 3: the discussion should be had with the mother. Uh. There
• 49:00
Speaker 3: were a lot of other facts on both sides that
• 49:05
Speaker 3: that were not facts.
• 49:07
  Speaker 6: Uh.
• 49:07
Speaker 3: Trump said Harris wouldn't uh wouldn't meet with that in
• 49:10
Speaker 3: Yahoo that's half true, half true. She did meet with
• 49:14
Speaker 3: him the following day. I called her out on the
• 49:15
Speaker 3: show if you remember from not meeting with him, But
• 49:18
Speaker 3: she didn't meet with him. It just happened to be.
• 49:20
Speaker 3: The following day, Trump said the US left millions of
• 49:24
Speaker 3: brand new military equipment in Afghanistan that has been proven
• 49:27
Speaker 3: by nonpartisan fact checkers to be false. I told you
• 49:32
Speaker 3: about the Haitian immigrants thing. You got to look at
• 49:35
Speaker 3: credible news sources. And I appreciate my listeners. My text
• 49:38
Speaker 3: was sending me all these stories, but look if it
• 49:39
  Speaker 3: doesn't come from a credible freaking news source, I'm I
• 49:43
Speaker 3: had people sending me stuff last night and people posting
• 49:46
Speaker 3: online these what looked like cam coord videos of something
• 49:51
Speaker 3: from you know, John's basement or something. I mean, you
• 49:53
Speaker 3: got to do better than that, man. You know, if
• 49:55
Speaker 3: the police says it didn't happen, the mayor says it
• 49:57
Speaker 3: didn't happen, the Republican governor says it didn't happen, and
• 50:01
Speaker 3: didn't happen. Tex says Dave. We should honor and remember
• 50:04
Speaker 3: those who we lost a nine to eleven and what
• 50:07
Speaker 3: the ensuing fights in the Middle East costs, especially to
• 50:10
Speaker 3: our veterans, but we should also learn from it better
• 50:13
Speaker 3: understand extremism by not just foreign entities, but also here
• 50:16
Speaker 3: at home in a polarized America. One hundred percent.
• 50:23
  Speaker 2: Agree.
• 50:26
Speaker 3: Not a fake news story Springfield residency. Haitian migrants are
• 50:29
Speaker 3: decapitating in eating ducks in the park as Ohio town
• 50:33
Speaker 3: rages over explosion of microsom Springfield, Ohio Council meeting. All right,
• 50:37
Speaker 3: sent me a link. I will look at it. Can't
• 50:39
Speaker 3: look at it when I'm on the air, but I
• 50:40
Speaker 3: do appreciate that. I will say this about and I'm
• 50:44
Speaker 3: glad that the textra pointed that out about extremism, and
• 50:48
Speaker 3: this might be a way to sort of close the show.
• 50:52
Speaker 3: You know, today is the twenty third anniversary of nine
• 50:54
Speaker 3: to eleven. We all remember where we were. I talked
• 50:56
Speaker 3: about it with a million with Senator Stewart, my other
• 50:58
Speaker 3: people that were on the show today. We all remember
• 50:59
Speaker 3: were we were. I posted something though on my personal
• 51:02
Speaker 3: Facebook page. Many of you followed me there. I posted
• 51:05
Speaker 3: I tend to be a little bit more personal, may okay,
• 51:07
Speaker 3: mainly food picks and sports stuff about we talked about
• 51:12
Speaker 3: September eleventh, But do you remember September twelfth. September twelfth
• 51:20
Speaker 3: was the day that everybody, Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative, all
• 51:31
Speaker 3: came out of that twenty four hour or so slumber
• 51:35
Speaker 3: that we were in. That's stupor, I guess is probably
• 51:37
Speaker 3: a better term. When we didn't know what to do
• 51:40
Speaker 3: and everybody united. Do you think that would happen today?
• 51:46
Speaker 3: Let's think about that for a moment. And I've brought
• 51:49
Speaker 3: this up on the show before. If if not eleven
• 51:53
Speaker 3: were to happen today, immediately Fox News would be all
• 51:59
Speaker 3: over it, blaming the Biden administration. MSNBC would be all
• 52:03
Speaker 3: over it, you know, blaming, blaming former President Trump. Somehow
• 52:09
Speaker 3: I get tons of texts of this show where people
• 52:11
Speaker 3: were blaming everybody. But on September twelfth, two thousand and one,
• 52:15
Speaker 3: America came together, Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative and said this,
• 52:22
Speaker 3: we're in a bad place. And folks, I'll tell you
• 52:24
Speaker 3: right now, I'm going to close this. We're in a
• 52:26
Speaker 3: bad place right now in America. We need we need
• 52:28
Speaker 3: September twelfth, two thousand and one, that's what we need.
