Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Insight from the inside.
- 0:03Speaker 2: This is seven to ten wars marks show.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Wow, Hey, big news of the Palm Beach Airport, as
- 0:13Speaker 1: you just heard, official, now absolutely official. Palm Beach International
- 0:18Speaker 1: Airport will become Donald J. Trump International Airport. This is
- 0:23Speaker 1: a great thing because every Democrat Liberal that has to
- 0:28Speaker 1: fly into that airport, it will drive them insane. Their
- 0:31Speaker 1: ticket will say Donald J. Trump Airport, they land everything
- 0:35Speaker 1: will say Donald J. Trump. Well, this will drive them nuts.
- 0:40Speaker 1: And do you remember it was it six months ago
- 0:42Speaker 1: early maybe it was last year when they were talking
- 0:46Speaker 1: about doing this. A caller to this show said they
- 0:48Speaker 1: ought to make the code DJT, you know, because a
- 0:52Speaker 1: lot of times these codes for the airport don't seem
- 0:54Speaker 1: to match the name of the airport. But I did
- 0:56Speaker 1: pass that along to the White House. To everybody in
- 0:59Speaker 1: the White House, call it DJT. They all loved it. So,
- 1:04Speaker 1: wherever that caller was, you may be responsible for this.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Now they might have thought of it on their own too,
- 1:08Speaker 1: But it's going to drive liberals crazy. Let's see how
- 1:13Speaker 1: many of them live in Palm Beach but will deliberately
- 1:18Speaker 1: only go to the Fort Lauderdale Airport so they don't
- 1:20Speaker 1: have to go to Donald J. Trump International Airport, because
- 1:22Speaker 1: when you leave the airport, one of the main roads
- 1:25Speaker 1: from the mainland over to Palm Beach is going to
- 1:29Speaker 1: be Donald J. Trump Boulevard. It will just absolutely torture them.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I think they are about thirty airports in the country
- 1:36Speaker 1: named after presidents, so this is totally appropriate. Now President
- 1:41Speaker 1: Trump is on his way back to the White House.
- 1:43Speaker 1: He'll get there later today. It's a grueling, long, long trip,
- 1:49Speaker 1: but he's got a plane full of the top leaders
- 1:51Speaker 1: in the world. As we're talking about the last hour,
- 1:55Speaker 1: how impressive was this even to sheep? Trump shows up
- 1:59Speaker 1: with an entourage of twenty of the most powerful global
- 2:03Speaker 1: business leaders in the world, Elon Musk and Tim Cook
- 2:08Speaker 1: and the chairman of Navidia and Goldman says, the top
- 2:11Speaker 1: business leaders on it. This is who he shows up with.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Biden shows up with his crack addict son Hunter. Trump
- 2:20Speaker 1: brings the greatest business leaders here. Why don't you do
- 2:23Speaker 1: some business with Apple, Why don't you to do business
- 2:24Speaker 1: from Navidia? Why don't you talk to City Bank? Biden
- 2:29Speaker 1: shows up with the crack addict son, my kid just
- 2:32Speaker 1: starting his own hedge fund. He's never done this before.
- 2:34Speaker 1: But he'd like you to put a couple billion into
- 2:37Speaker 1: what a difference. So hey, Sean Hannity did the exclusive
- 2:43Speaker 1: interview with President Trump after the summer. It's a big
- 2:45Speaker 1: one hour interview. They aired it last night on Hannity,
- 2:49Speaker 1: but I'll be filling in for Sean Hannity today later
- 2:52Speaker 1: today three to seven, No, three to six, three to six,
- 2:57Speaker 1: and we'll replay the whole interviews. If you didn't get
- 3:00Speaker 1: to hear, you get to hear today. I think we'll
- 3:02Speaker 1: do it in the first hour three to four, So
- 3:05Speaker 1: take a listen to it. It'll be right here on
- 3:07Speaker 1: wor So. Kamala Harris is scaring everybody, Democrats and Republicans.
- 3:15Speaker 1: She's scaring the Democrats because she's looking like she wants
- 3:19Speaker 1: to run in twenty twenty eight again. She was a
- 3:21Speaker 1: total disaster, the worst candidate ever, just a goofball, but
- 3:27Speaker 1: she wants to run again. She's scaring the Republicans. I mean,
- 3:30Speaker 1: they would love to run against her, but she's now
- 3:32Speaker 1: put back on the table every crazy, radical, nutjob democratic idea,
- 3:39Speaker 1: like redoing the Supreme Court instead of nine, you'll have
- 3:42Speaker 1: twenty five justices, getting rid of the electoral college, making
- 3:46Speaker 1: Puerto Rico and DC states. Listen to her talking about
- 3:50Speaker 1: all this.
- 3:50Speaker 3: And in that No Bad Ideas brainstorm, we talk about
- 3:55Speaker 3: what we need to do and think about doing around
- 3:57Speaker 3: the electoral College. We talk about the idea of Supreme
- 4:01Speaker 3: Court reform, which includes expanding the Supreme Court. We invite
- 4:06Speaker 3: a conversation about multi members districts.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Let's talk about state loand for Puerto Rico and DC,
- 4:13Speaker 4: we've got to neutralize these red states from cheating, including
- 4:18Speaker 4: blue states expanding their maps.
- 4:21Speaker 1: No, if you're worried about cheating voter ID, there's your solution. Now.
- 4:24Speaker 1: What she's talking about and Democrats the dream about is
- 4:27Speaker 1: tearing down the democracy, changing the constitution. Just I mean,
- 4:33Speaker 1: it's all ridiculous. Getting rid of the electoral college. You're
- 4:35Speaker 1: talking about taking apart our democracy, changing our constitution, Packing
- 4:41Speaker 1: the Supreme Court. You're talking about tearing down our democracy,
- 4:45Speaker 1: changing the constitution. You see, the problem is there's nine
- 4:48Speaker 1: justices and the Republicans have nominated a bunch of them.
- 4:52Speaker 1: So Democrats don't want to wait for these guys to
- 4:54Speaker 1: die and pray that when they do that there's a
- 4:57Speaker 1: Democrat in office, so they can pack the court. So
- 4:59Speaker 1: the next Democratic president can pick twenty people to add
- 5:04Speaker 1: twenty left wing cooks. Statehood for Puerto Rico and DC.
- 5:08Speaker 1: That's their other big dream because then they would each
- 5:11Speaker 1: have two senators, and they're Democratic areas, so that would
- 5:15Speaker 1: be four more Democratic senators and congressman. The only thing
- 5:19Speaker 1: you know right now, the governor Puerto Rico is a
- 5:22Speaker 1: big Trump supporter, So that's a little sticky wicket there.
- 5:26Speaker 1: But it looks like Harris wants to run again. A
- 5:29Speaker 1: lot of people thought she should have just run for
- 5:31Speaker 1: governor in California. Steve Hilton looks pretty good there. He's
- 5:36Speaker 1: a Republican and that's not easy in California, but he's
- 5:39Speaker 1: doing very well. He'll be on with me later today
- 5:43Speaker 1: when I will. I'll interview him later here on WR
- 5:47Speaker 1: on the Hannity Show. Now, the La mayoral race. This
- 5:52Speaker 1: guy comes out of nowhere, Spencer Pratt, reality star Spencer Pratt.
- 5:58Speaker 1: He's from the reality show The Hills. He announces his
- 6:01Speaker 1: bid for mayor. Guy can out talk anybody in the race.
- 6:05Speaker 1: He's totally dominating the debates. He's a celebrity, no political
- 6:11Speaker 1: or corporate experience of any kind, and he's been amazing
- 6:16Speaker 1: with his social media is TikTok Instagram. You know, his
- 6:20Speaker 1: house was destroyed in the fire. It's completely gone, just gone.
- 6:25Speaker 1: So he's running on that because it affects a lot
- 6:27Speaker 1: of people in LA that lost their homes, lost everything
- 6:29Speaker 1: in these fires. So it's a big issue. So he's
- 6:32Speaker 1: got one video that's amazing where he shows here's where
- 6:35Speaker 1: I'm living now, and it shows his property. The house
- 6:37Speaker 1: is all gone, but he's got a trailer on the
- 6:40Speaker 1: properties living in. It's pretty dramatic. However, TMC investigates finds
- 6:46Speaker 1: out he's not actually living in a trailer. He's staying
- 6:48Speaker 1: in the bel Air Hotel, which is one of the
- 6:51Speaker 1: most luxurious hotels in the world. All Right, a little catch,
- 6:54Speaker 1: but he's still the point that's there, and he's doing
- 6:58Speaker 1: so well that the New York Times is going crazy,
- 7:04Speaker 1: very upset. New York Times headline. Unfortunately, we have to
- 7:08Speaker 1: take Spencer Pratt seriously as a politician. And then they
- 7:12Speaker 1: write this article about how here's what it says, we're
- 7:15Speaker 1: now in a era of reality show stars. We have
- 7:20Speaker 1: a reality TV president. This is the big myth they
- 7:24Speaker 1: created that Trump's a reality TV star. That's like saying
- 7:28Speaker 1: Joe Biden. We now have a lifeguard as president because
- 7:32Speaker 1: somewhere in his long career he was briefly a lifeguard
- 7:35Speaker 1: when he was a kid. Trump was not a reality
- 7:38Speaker 1: TV star. Yes he was on the Apprentice, but he
- 7:42Speaker 1: was a huge, huge, huge figure in America for about
- 7:46Speaker 1: thirty years before the Apprentice.
- 7:48Speaker 5: It had.
- 7:49Speaker 1: The Apprentice had nothing to do with his gaining any fame.
- 7:52Speaker 1: And in fact, the creator the Apprentice, Mark Burnett, on
- 7:55Speaker 1: this very show, told us the story. He came up
- 7:58Speaker 1: with the idea, up with the format, he designed the
- 8:01Speaker 1: whole show. And then I said, why did you pick
- 8:04Speaker 1: Donald Trump? He said, well, when he came up the idea,
- 8:06Speaker 1: we had to find a businessman, and I thought to myself,
- 8:09Speaker 1: who's the most famous businessman in America? And it was
- 8:12Speaker 1: Donald Trump. So I contacted him and he liked the
- 8:15Speaker 1: so he got the show because he was already the
- 8:18Speaker 1: most famous businessman in America. But Pratt is going to
- 8:23Speaker 1: he's on track now to win the mayoral race in
- 8:26Speaker 1: Los Angeles. In fact, after that debate online poll ninety
- 8:32Speaker 1: percent said he won the debate. Ninety percent. That's pretty amazing.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Apparently on the view they went nuts. Those ridiculous. I mean, remember,
- 8:46Speaker 1: the View is like the low IQ Show, So for
- 8:49Speaker 1: the left, that's their low IQ show. But the View
- 8:52Speaker 1: host went nuts, yelling and screaming about Spencer Pratt and
- 8:58Speaker 1: yelling and here's their big point. They kept yelling about,
- 9:01Speaker 1: how could you take a guy with no experience, who's
- 9:04Speaker 1: not a manager and never run anything and let him
- 9:06Speaker 1: run a fifteen billion dollar budget? How could you do that?
- 9:11Speaker 1: We just did it in New York. We took a
- 9:13Speaker 1: college kid mom Donnie, who's never had a job in
- 9:15Speaker 1: his life, and gave him one hundred and thirty million
- 9:18Speaker 1: dollar budget, one hundred and thirty billion dollar budget to run.
- 9:22Speaker 1: So we just did it. And these same phonies on
- 9:25Speaker 1: the View never said a word about that. One of
- 9:28Speaker 1: them said, Spencer Pratt, you don't have experience, you don't
- 9:31Speaker 1: have a law degree from Harvard Law School. Like that's
- 9:36Speaker 1: going to help. Who would vote for any if we
- 9:39Speaker 1: had ever had a There's never been a great politician
- 9:41Speaker 1: with a law degree from Harvard Law School. There's never
- 9:44Speaker 1: even been a great lawyer with a law degree from
- 9:46Speaker 1: Harvard Law School. You look at the greatest lawyers in
- 9:49Speaker 1: the world, the top lawyers in America, you know, they
- 9:51Speaker 1: went to Hofstra. They went to Brooklyn College. Then the
- 9:55Speaker 1: Hofstra graduates from the law school. They're all working for
- 9:57Speaker 1: these big lawyers. So this is a serious and keep
- 10:02Speaker 1: an eye on this Spencer Pratt in Los Angeles. It's
- 10:07Speaker 1: a fascinating story. Hey, Bruce Blakeman, we hope will be
- 10:11Speaker 1: our governor. He's the most qualified guy in the world
- 10:13Speaker 1: for this. He'd be a great governor. You know, they
- 10:16Speaker 1: screwed around and played games and totally corrupt that campaign
- 10:20Speaker 1: finance board. It's been stacked with left wing Democrats, and
- 10:25Speaker 1: they denied him as matching funds. They were totally corrupt
- 10:30Speaker 1: about it. So a judge has just reversed that. A judge,
- 10:34Speaker 1: an Albany County Supreme Court judge issued an order signed
- 10:38Speaker 1: it this week. The will force the New York State
- 10:42Speaker 1: campaign Finance Board to reverse their decision and give Blakeman
- 10:46Speaker 1: the money. It's millions and millions of dollars and then
- 10:48Speaker 1: he can start spending it. In fact, the judge really
- 10:53Speaker 1: excoriated the Democratic Board, saying it clearly went against its
- 10:58Speaker 1: own regulations. Apparently there was a something was wrong on
- 11:02Speaker 1: a form of Blakeman. Some little clerical error and they
- 11:07Speaker 1: didn't give Blakeman any notice. I guess the form was incomplete.
- 11:11Speaker 1: They according to the judge, they violated everything because they
- 11:14Speaker 1: didn't give them notice the form was incomplete. They didn't
- 11:17Speaker 1: give them the required one week period to fix any
- 11:20Speaker 1: supposed mistakes. So the good this great judge Albany State
- 11:24Speaker 1: Supreme Court, Albany County Supreme Court. Blakeman will get his
- 11:28Speaker 1: money now. Hokel is not asking for any campaign funds.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Why because she's got thirty two million in a war chest,
- 11:36Speaker 1: thirty two million all from big money donors who she
- 11:40Speaker 1: will then have to do massive favors for Stephen Colbert
- 11:45Speaker 1: going off the air in less than a week next
- 11:48Speaker 1: Thursday night. I'll be the end of Colbert. And that's
- 11:52Speaker 1: great news. Now he's had all the talk show hosts back.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Last night he had David Letterman back. And Letterman, who's
- 12:00Speaker 1: become quite the angry, cranky, bitter sort of a guy.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I mean, he was always a little ornery, but he
- 12:06Speaker 1: was trashing CBS, trashing the country, the president of everything. It
- 12:12Speaker 1: was a one great moment. Remember Letterman used to drop
- 12:14Speaker 1: stuff off the roof of the building, drop watermelons on
- 12:17Speaker 1: the Street, so they did that. It was that actually
- 12:19Speaker 1: was pretty good. They were throwing furniture CBS furniture off
- 12:23Speaker 1: the roof of the building, aiming at a CBS logo
- 12:27Speaker 1: on the ground. Then they started throwing watermelons. It wasn't bad.
- 12:30Speaker 1: But then Letterman so pompous. He turns to Colbert and
- 12:35Speaker 1: shakes his hand because I want to thank you for
- 12:37Speaker 1: what you've done for the country. What has he done
- 12:41Speaker 1: for the country except screw up. Late night TV used
- 12:44Speaker 1: to be Johnny Carson, used to be Jay Leno. It
- 12:47Speaker 1: used to be fun and funny. That was the idea
- 12:49Speaker 1: of late night TV. Steve Allen started the Tonight Show.
- 12:52Speaker 1: That was the idea. You have a few laughs, entertainment laughs,
- 12:55Speaker 1: then you go to sleep. Colbert has turned it into angry,
- 13:00Speaker 1: vicious hatred, partisan hatred, get you all riled up right
- 13:03Speaker 1: before you go to sleep. It makes no sense at all,
- 13:06Speaker 1: Although it was kind of Letterman that started. I remember
- 13:08Speaker 1: when Letterman started, he was in the Johnny Carson tradition.
- 13:12Speaker 1: He was on after Carson twelve thirty. Then he was
- 13:16Speaker 1: on at eleven thirty against Jay Leno and they both
- 13:19Speaker 1: did very funny shows. It was funny it was comical,
- 13:23Speaker 1: it was fun. And then and Letterman did very well
- 13:26Speaker 1: for many years beating the Tonight Show. He was very successful.
- 13:30Speaker 1: But then remember in the last few years, Letterman got
- 13:32Speaker 1: very left wing, very political. That's fine if your left wing,
- 13:37Speaker 1: but you don't do it on the air. And when
- 13:39Speaker 1: these guys do it on the air, it becomes angry,
- 13:42Speaker 1: it becomes vicious, it becomes hateful. So Letterman's ratings plunged,
- 13:47Speaker 1: it dropped in half, and that led to the end
- 13:50Speaker 1: of his show. He was gone. But it's fascinating to
- 13:53Speaker 1: watch Letterman and Colbert on lest they're celebrating. Who celebrates
- 13:58Speaker 1: the guy getting fired? Who brings out another guy that
- 14:01Speaker 1: was fired? You know, somebody leaves here or any company
- 14:06Speaker 1: if they quit or they're moving on. You have a party,
- 14:08Speaker 1: We have a cake. The guy gets fired. Do you
- 14:11Speaker 1: bring in a party and a cake and everybody has
- 14:14Speaker 1: balloons celebrate the guy getting fired. Only in the left
- 14:18Speaker 1: wing kookie world could that happen? Hey, Scott Shannon will
- 14:22Speaker 1: be with us in a little while, the greatest, the
- 14:24Speaker 1: living DJ, maybe the greatest of all time. We'll talk
- 14:27Speaker 1: to Scott Shannon coming up. We'll take some calls next
- 14:30Speaker 1: eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten. Is
- 14:34Speaker 1: the number eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten.
- 14:38Speaker 2: If you're listening to Mark on the iHeartRadio app, save
- 14:41Speaker 2: time and tap the breset button.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Now.
- 14:44Speaker 6: Now back to the Mark Simone show on wor.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Well, let's take some calls. Let's go to Chris west Hampton.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Chris is a panikin. Let's see what he's worried about. Now, Chris,
- 14:56Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 14:57Speaker 6: Hi?
- 14:57Speaker 7: I'm calling as a public service because I'm always wrong,
- 15:00Speaker 7: So I want to say that I think we're going
- 15:02Speaker 7: to get screwed with Iran, that there's not enough time
- 15:05Speaker 7: for oil prices to come back down before the election.
- 15:08Speaker 7: Prices are still high, and everything he ran on is
- 15:13Speaker 7: going in the wrong direction. And also, did you know Joe.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Sorolla, Joe Sorolla, the actor, the.
- 15:19Speaker 7: Voiceover guy, the voiceover Yeah, I know, you know everybody. Yeah, absolutely.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Why did you bring him up? Was still?
- 15:25Speaker 7: Because I was thinking about your voice the other day
- 15:27Speaker 7: and like people that have really recognizable voices, and I
- 15:31Speaker 7: remember Joe and he was but I thought maybe that
- 15:33Speaker 7: was a little bit before your time.
- 15:35Speaker 1: No, I knew that, I mean it was I'm not
- 15:37Speaker 1: sure I haven't seen. Is he still alive? He's no
- 15:39Speaker 1: longer with it?
- 15:40Speaker 7: No, No, he died. But I mean I think he
- 15:42Speaker 7: used to do like ads for Exxon and Mobile.
- 15:44Speaker 6: Oh.
- 15:44Speaker 1: He was one of the topic voiceover guys in the world.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Probably made ten million a year doing voice over.
- 15:49Speaker 7: He was very trustable too, like you you know, like
- 15:51Speaker 7: when you endorse something, it has something to it.
- 15:54Speaker 1: But you know, all those voiceover guys, they're making like
- 15:57Speaker 1: ten million a year, but nobody knows who they are,
- 15:59Speaker 1: so it drives them not so well.
- 16:01Speaker 7: I knew who he was. He used to come into
- 16:02Speaker 7: a restaurant I worked at called Oscars.
- 16:04Speaker 1: And uh, where was Where was Oscars?
- 16:07Speaker 7: It was on sixty seven. It was Oscar Salt of
- 16:10Speaker 7: the Sea.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Oh, I remember that place.
- 16:11Speaker 7: Yeah, it was there Forever and Ever was an institution.
- 16:14Speaker 7: Lots of people used to come in, Benny Goodman.
- 16:15Speaker 1: And him, Benny Goodman, Yeah.
- 16:18Speaker 7: Yeah, I knew Betty good Yeah, I mean I knew
- 16:20Speaker 7: these people used to come in.
- 16:21Speaker 6: You know.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Benny Goodman lived up the block in that building that
- 16:24Speaker 1: biggest Manhattan has.
- 16:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:27Speaker 1: And I remember when I was on the air when
- 16:29Speaker 1: Benny Goodman died. I was on W and e W.
- 16:31Speaker 1: We had all the greatest stars on the show, the
- 16:34Speaker 1: greatest singers. Benny Goodman died and we were on the
- 16:37Speaker 1: air and I said, quick, get everybody, Get Elephantzgerald, get
- 16:40Speaker 1: Lena Horn, get everybody to come on and talk. Well,
- 16:43Speaker 1: I didn't realize he was the most hated guy in
- 16:45Speaker 1: the history of show business. So every single performer we
- 16:48Speaker 1: call this Benny Goodman died. Good Do you want to
- 16:51Speaker 1: come on?
- 16:51Speaker 7: Famous everybody?
- 16:53Speaker 1: Will you come on and say something? No, I don't
- 16:55Speaker 1: want to talk about him.
- 16:56Speaker 8: So.
- 16:58Speaker 7: All right, well then we have a good weekend.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Apparently it was a very nasty guy. And then all
- 17:03Speaker 1: the musicians that joke went around everywhere. The good news
- 17:08Speaker 1: is Benny Goodman died. The bad news is he died
- 17:10Speaker 1: in his sleep. So I didn't really know the guy,
- 17:13Speaker 1: but apparently a very nasty guy. Let's go to John
- 17:16Speaker 1: and Florida. John, how you doing, Hi?
- 17:19Speaker 9: Mark? The earliest story at Chelsea Gabbatt What happens? Greg
- 17:23Speaker 9: Kelly ran it on his should the night before and
- 17:27Speaker 9: Colonel Hunt was gone that they rated Chelsea Gabbitt's office
- 17:30Speaker 9: from the Pentagon and they even Colonel Hunt that couldn't
- 17:35Speaker 9: be the would put us in a constitutional crisis. That's
- 17:37Speaker 9: what the early caller was talking about. Kelly Brandwood and
- 17:40Speaker 9: I don't think.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Greg, Kelly does a great shows on Newsmax every
- 17:44Speaker 1: night from nine to ten, and he comes up with
- 17:46Speaker 1: stuff that nobody else is covering. So an important show
- 17:50Speaker 1: to watch. President Trump watches it every night nine to
- 17:53Speaker 1: ten on Newsmax. Thanks for Colin. Let's go to rich
- 17:57Speaker 1: In fair Lawn. Rich how you doing, Mark?
- 18:00Speaker 6: I'm just wondering whatever happened to that little cubby hole
- 18:05Speaker 6: in the White House that had white powder in it?
- 18:07Speaker 6: Did they ever find out who placed it there?
- 18:10Speaker 1: Well, you know Jimmy Thayla was telling us yesterday how
- 18:13Speaker 1: he went back to visit the White House. He was there,
- 18:15Speaker 1: he said, I went back to get my coke. So oh, okay, No,
- 18:19Speaker 1: I don't know you We assume it was Hunter Biden's.
- 18:22Speaker 6: Oh definitely. It's the only assumption anybody could have.
- 18:25Speaker 7: That's for sure.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Two theories out there, thanks for calling. One is that
- 18:29Speaker 1: it was Hunter Biden's. The other theory, you know, Joe
- 18:33Speaker 1: Biden was always Akinacoma, and they sometimes when they had
- 18:35Speaker 1: a like get him awake and energy for a speech,
- 18:39Speaker 1: they would give him this injection with it was adderall
- 18:42Speaker 1: B twelve, the whole list of things that would get
- 18:45Speaker 1: him up. Some people thought they would use cocaine sometimes
- 18:49Speaker 1: to wake him up if he's comatose, sleepy Joe and
- 18:53Speaker 1: something important. Some people thought they would give him coke
- 18:56Speaker 1: to make him suddenly alert. So this was right outside
- 18:59Speaker 1: the city situation room. And if they ever had to
- 19:02Speaker 1: go into the situation room with Biden, obviously it's some crisis,
- 19:05Speaker 1: you'd need them alert. So some theorized that's what the
- 19:08Speaker 1: cocaine was doing there. Let's go to Ernie in Connecticut. Ernie,
- 19:11Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 19:13Speaker 6: Always a pleasure? Mark. You would make comments last week
- 19:17Speaker 6: about all the Blue states raising taxes, and you brought
- 19:21Speaker 6: up Connecticut back in the nineteen eighties, and I did
- 19:25Speaker 6: the research. In Connecticut. We had zero income tax. Yeah,
- 19:30Speaker 6: the state had the highest economic growth in the country,
- 19:33Speaker 6: the highest per capita individual income, highest household income.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Oh, it was booming. If you have no taxes, the
- 19:41Speaker 1: only problem is everybody will move there and you'll make
- 19:43Speaker 1: a fortune. But good point. You know one thing about democrats.
- 19:47Speaker 1: They don't believe in science. They will not follow the science.
- 19:50Speaker 1: We know how to run an economy. We've tested every
- 19:53Speaker 1: model a million times. That's the science of it. If
- 19:56Speaker 1: you'd lower the taxes, economy booms. If you have no
- 19:59Speaker 1: taxes booms. If you raise taxes, the economy suffers. Take
- 20:04Speaker 1: socialism for example. We've run that experiment all over the
- 20:06Speaker 1: world ten thousand times. It fails every time. But Democrats
- 20:11Speaker 1: don't follow the science. Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 20:14Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 20:15Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark, Good morning, Mara Mark. I have a
- 20:18Speaker 5: bridge to sell to anyone who believes that China isn't
- 20:22Speaker 5: supplying food and arms to Iran, and so is Turkey, Pakistan,
- 20:27Speaker 5: Russia via the Caspian Sea north of Iran China. And
- 20:32Speaker 5: I heard elite military report the other day. That's why
- 20:36Speaker 5: I'm saying this. Normally there are about two hundred tracted
- 20:41Speaker 5: trailer trucks that bring food and stuff into Iran. Now
- 20:45Speaker 5: Turkey is part of NATO, but Turkey is really not
- 20:48Speaker 5: our friend. That number is increased up to five hundred
- 20:53Speaker 5: tracted trailers a day going into Iran. The northern part
- 20:57Speaker 5: of Iran sits right on the Caspian Sea, and I'm
- 21:00Speaker 5: looking at a world map right now that goes right
- 21:03Speaker 5: into Russia and all of Russia's controlled territories. On the
- 21:08Speaker 5: other side, we're looking at the Strait of Harmuz. They're
- 21:12Speaker 5: going every other place. On the far eastern side of Iran.
- 21:17Speaker 5: There's railroad tracks that go right to the very edge
- 21:21Speaker 5: of Asia, and China is trucking massive amounts of food,
- 21:27Speaker 5: arms and everything over land into Iran. This seas fire
- 21:32Speaker 5: should have lasted twenty four hours just for Red Cross
- 21:39Speaker 5: relief and food relief. Like Israel does dig with the
- 21:43Speaker 5: Gaza Strip, this is Boloni. They are re arming and
- 21:48Speaker 5: getting food. That's why they're not on their knees yet.
- 21:51Speaker 5: Everybody's looking at the Strait of Hormos. They're getting their
- 21:55Speaker 5: action every other place. And this was a leak three
- 21:59Speaker 5: port that I heard the other day when.
- 22:02Speaker 1: We got to go for the news. But that's a
- 22:03Speaker 1: good point. Thanks for Colin. We'll see President returns to
- 22:07Speaker 1: the White House tonight. He'll be back over the weekend.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Then let's see. I think he might see a resumption
- 22:11Speaker 1: and everything. Hey, when we come back, the greatest DJ

- 24:09Speaker 1: R Well the greatest living DJ, the legend Scott Shannon
- 24:15Speaker 1: of course radio legend and uh it's great to have
- 24:19Speaker 1: him back with us. Scott Shannon, how you doing.
- 24:22Speaker 6: I know that you're a humble, shy fellow. I gotta
- 24:27Speaker 6: tell you you've been on You've been on fire this
- 24:30Speaker 6: week man, You've been doing it. Today's awesome. You've got
- 24:33Speaker 6: a lot of good calls today. Yesterday you did the
- 24:37Speaker 6: Hannity Show and.
- 24:38Speaker 1: You are the voice of the Sean Hannity Show.
- 24:42Speaker 6: Yeah, but I mean you or you know. What's funny
- 24:45Speaker 6: is usually when somebody fills in for another you know star,
- 24:51Speaker 6: they're always but you do this. You're the same guy
- 24:54Speaker 6: doing either show.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Yeah that's true. Uh, I guess well, we're pretty similar shows.
- 25:00Speaker 6: But well, you seem very you sound very relaxed when
- 25:04Speaker 6: you're doing it. It's very comfortable for you.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It's called half asleep, that is.
- 25:10Speaker 6: And by the way, that your Trump phone is going
- 25:13Speaker 6: to be just a little bit late. You ordered one
- 25:15Speaker 6: of those Trump Gold phones, didn't you.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I like that. That's pretty good.
- 25:19Speaker 6: Yeah. Well, supposedly they're supposed to ship this week, but
- 25:25Speaker 6: they've got some problems Trump Mobile. The ceo over there
- 25:29Speaker 6: blamed the delays on phone parts needing to be tested
- 25:34Speaker 6: for quality assurances they got. They didn't test them first,
- 25:38Speaker 6: so they're not sending them out yet. You don't have
- 25:42Speaker 6: to worry about it, you know. I've been pretty busy
- 25:46Speaker 6: myself because my network where I try to keep the
- 25:50Speaker 6: oldies alive, the sixties and seventies, True broke open. That's it.
- 25:57Speaker 6: But the problem is that it's not a problem for me.
- 26:00Speaker 6: But it's just we've all of a sudden, a lot
- 26:03Speaker 6: of stations, a lot of companies are coming to us
- 26:07Speaker 6: to put our network on their station because, as you know,
- 26:14Speaker 6: radio is having some problems right now. There's still there's
- 26:17Speaker 6: some you know, obviously Iheart's doing time, but a lot
- 26:21Speaker 6: of companies who aren't as well driven, let's put it
- 26:25Speaker 6: that way, they're having some problems. They're having to cut people,
- 26:28Speaker 6: cut people pretty soon they don't have anybody to go
- 26:31Speaker 6: on radio.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but you can listen to Scott Chennon every morning,
- 26:34Speaker 1: the True Oldies Channel, and some stations like all of
- 26:37Speaker 1: a sudden now one in Boston they're airing your show,
- 26:40Speaker 1: so you're the morning man all over the country. But
- 26:43Speaker 1: where should people go to listen to True Oldiest channel.
- 26:45Speaker 6: Well, you can obviously in Boston we're on WME actually
- 26:50Speaker 6: just started last week as a big one. And then
- 26:54Speaker 6: here in New York we're on ninety two to three
- 26:57Speaker 6: FM HD three, And a lot of people don't listen
- 27:00Speaker 6: on their Alexa or you know, anything like that. To
- 27:04Speaker 6: go to True oldies channel on iHeart Radio. He say, hey,
- 27:09Speaker 6: Alexa played true oldiest channel on iHeart Radio. You know,
- 27:15Speaker 6: it's just it's just a way for me to continue to,
- 27:18Speaker 6: you know, do what I like to do beyond the radio.
- 27:21Speaker 6: And part of the show that I do, we use
- 27:25Speaker 6: a lot of these goofy stories, and I don't know,
- 27:29Speaker 6: in the past few days, there's been so many weird
- 27:32Speaker 6: things going on.
- 27:33Speaker 5: You know.
- 27:34Speaker 6: Did you hear the story from Pope Leo? A couple
- 27:37Speaker 6: of days ago. He was trying to call the bank
- 27:41Speaker 6: his bank when he lived in Chicago or where he
- 27:44Speaker 6: grew up, and he called it just himself, and he
- 27:50Speaker 6: wanted to change his mailing address for all of his
- 27:53Speaker 6: banking needs and all that. So he told the girl
- 27:56Speaker 6: and asked, well, I try to say Pope lee She
- 28:01Speaker 6: said what he said, it's the Pope. She goes, oh, yeah,
- 28:05Speaker 6: you're Pope Leo and on Virgin Mary Well and she
- 28:09Speaker 6: hung up. He hung up on the Pope.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Well, who wouldn't if you if a guy called me,
- 28:13Speaker 1: says Pope Leo, I would not believe me either. Who
- 28:15Speaker 1: would believe him?
- 28:17Speaker 6: Then we got a I got another I got a
- 28:19Speaker 6: great story from Florida this guy on a motorcycle arrested.
- 28:26Speaker 6: He was on a high speed chase. He was clocked
- 28:29Speaker 6: at one hundred and twenty miles an hour. But that
- 28:34Speaker 6: was that wasn't the weird part. He was dressed up
- 28:37Speaker 6: as the Easter Bunny, honest motorcycle. What pretty pretty funny.
- 28:43Speaker 1: How many tickets did he get for that? One hundred
- 28:45Speaker 1: and twenty? That's like a felony, you know, that's.
- 28:46Speaker 6: Like, yeah, that's bad. That's bad, bad, bad bad. And
- 28:50Speaker 6: I and I know you're a big rap music fan.
- 28:53Speaker 6: So you you remember Eminem right, of course, very popular guy. Well,
- 28:59Speaker 6: he had he married his childhood sweetheart. I think he
- 29:03Speaker 6: married her a couple of times. Yeah, Kimberly Scott is
- 29:07Speaker 6: her name, and both of them had drug problems over
- 29:13Speaker 6: the years. He managed to kick his, but she goes
- 29:18Speaker 6: back and forth. She's fifty one years old, and this
- 29:23Speaker 6: past week she was taking her son, I think he's
- 29:29Speaker 6: in his teens, and a couple of his buddies. They're
- 29:32Speaker 6: in the car with her. They're going to the mall
- 29:34Speaker 6: to go shopping, and she smashed her range Rover into
- 29:39Speaker 6: a truck that was actually parked on his mont Even movement.
- 29:44Speaker 6: It was parked on the street, and she ran into it.
- 29:47Speaker 6: And then she didn't stop and wait for a cop.
- 29:50Speaker 6: She drove back to her house and when she was
- 29:53Speaker 6: pulling up in the driveway, she kept going and ran
- 29:56Speaker 6: into her garage. He crashed the garage into the door
- 30:04Speaker 6: right there.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Man, bam, Well, that's I got eighth villies right there.
- 30:08Speaker 1: That's like jail time for that kind of stuff.
- 30:10Speaker 6: That's not been a busy, busy dame. Now you know,
- 30:14Speaker 6: we got a new Rolling Stones album coming out, But
- 30:19Speaker 6: who's going to play? Oh wait a minute, I hear
- 30:21Speaker 6: you what who's.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Going to play it? I mean I gotta play on
- 30:24Speaker 1: CE one hundred. They're not going to play it on
- 30:26Speaker 1: light FM.
- 30:27Speaker 6: I mean we're I can't even play it on the
- 30:30Speaker 6: true oldies. But I gotta tell you, like like me,
- 30:36Speaker 6: I you know, I couldn't stay retired the Stones. They
- 30:40Speaker 6: still want to play, Okay.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I guess Paul McCartney's always doing a new album. Billy
- 30:45Speaker 1: Joel did one last year.
- 30:47Speaker 6: I guess, Yeah, Jagger, I think I think Jagger and
- 30:50Speaker 6: Keith are both eighty two years old.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:53Speaker 6: And Ronnie Woods, he's a young, spry chicken. He's seventy nine.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Wow.
- 30:57Speaker 6: But the weird but the weird thing about the new
- 31:00Speaker 6: album it's called Foreming Tongues, coming out July tenth. I believe,
- 31:06Speaker 6: but I saw the video. Have you seen the video
- 31:09Speaker 6: for the first song from the album yet. It's a
- 31:13Speaker 6: good song, but they used a I two make it
- 31:19Speaker 6: look like they're young again in the video. They're singing,
- 31:23Speaker 6: they're singing this song, but they look like they're you know,
- 31:26Speaker 6: twenty years old.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Isn't that kind of sad though, that they have to
- 31:31Speaker 1: do that?
- 31:32Speaker 6: Oh? Yeah, yeah, But I mean I saw him doing
- 31:35Speaker 6: that press comments the other day and he and mix
- 31:38Speaker 6: had no work done whatsoever.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Oh you can tell?
- 31:41Speaker 6: And yeah, that's that's a good case for plastic surgery.
- 31:47Speaker 9: You see that.
- 31:48Speaker 6: Yeah, But I don't think he wants to go out
- 31:51Speaker 6: on tour. And Keith doesn't want to do it. You know,
- 31:56Speaker 6: he's not, He doesn't. He's not in such good shape
- 31:59Speaker 6: as Mick the mix guy. He can bounce around like
- 32:03Speaker 6: a thirty forty year old guy. Yeah, and it goes
- 32:07Speaker 6: out on the stage. And then you got the McCartney album.
- 32:10Speaker 6: The reviews are really really good. They say it's one
- 32:14Speaker 6: of his strongest albums. In many, many years.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but again, who's going to play it?
- 32:19Speaker 6: Well, remember that, I think I told you the story before.
- 32:24Speaker 6: Elton John and Billy Joel Art's still on their own
- 32:27Speaker 6: speaking terms now, and Billy called him and talked to
- 32:32Speaker 6: him and so, what are you doing. I'm working on
- 32:35Speaker 6: a new album, man, getting a new album pack And
- 32:38Speaker 6: he says why, you know why? And he said, you
- 32:43Speaker 6: aren't you going to do a new album? He says, no,
- 32:46Speaker 6: nobody cares about us and our new music. They want
- 32:50Speaker 6: to hear our old song.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Yeah, well we care about him, but their elder statesman.
- 32:54Speaker 1: They do concerts, that's what they do.
- 32:56Speaker 6: Yeah, but they don't. But you know, I saw nutrition.
- 33:00Speaker 6: I went to see uh Paul McCartney. I think we're
- 33:05Speaker 6: in one of the places in Jersey, one of the
- 33:07Speaker 6: big places there, and that's where he was on stage.
- 33:10Speaker 2: You know.
- 33:11Speaker 6: When he stops, he says, I'm gonna warn you right now,
- 33:13Speaker 6: I'm going to do one of my new songs. So
- 33:15Speaker 6: this is a good time for you to go to
- 33:17Speaker 6: the bathroom, because I know you're gonna go anyway. So
- 33:20Speaker 6: he actually, I never heard an artist do that. Look,
- 33:25Speaker 6: we know what you do. We play our new music.
- 33:30Speaker 6: And a lot of like you go see if you
- 33:34Speaker 6: go see just about any artists, they want to they
- 33:36Speaker 6: want to torture you with a new song. Right from McCartney.
- 33:40Speaker 6: McCarty warns us, is this is a good place to
- 33:42Speaker 6: go to go get a hot dog or whatever. So
- 33:47Speaker 6: I thought that was pretty funny.
- 33:51Speaker 1: There was Tony Bennett at the Copa Cabana and he
- 33:54Speaker 1: did all these unusual songs, these album cuts and the
- 33:58Speaker 1: big gangster owner afterwards, what the hell were you're singing?
- 34:01Speaker 1: He goes, well, those are my favorite songs, And he said,
- 34:04Speaker 1: I'm not paying you to sing your favorite songs. I'm
- 34:06Speaker 1: paying you to sing their favorite songs.
- 34:10Speaker 5: You know.
- 34:10Speaker 6: I was interviewing, I think Bob Seeger and over at
- 34:15Speaker 6: PLJ he came up and he told me that he
- 34:19Speaker 6: went to see John Mellencamp in concert. This is when
- 34:23Speaker 6: Mellencamp read hot he had to he wanted to play
- 34:26Speaker 6: some songs from this new album. And he goes backstage.
- 34:32Speaker 6: Bob Sieger goes back stage. He says, can I tell
- 34:34Speaker 6: you something, John, I pay for my ticket. I didn't
- 34:37Speaker 6: get it free. I pay for my ticket and I
- 34:40Speaker 6: expected to hear Jack and Di Aan and all your hits.
- 34:43Speaker 6: I don't want to hear that either crap and either
- 34:46Speaker 6: day he told me he said that John Mellencamp. From
- 34:51Speaker 6: then on I never played any new music.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Hey, Scott Chennon I was looking at Here's the list
- 34:57Speaker 1: of the top most listened to morning shows in New York,
- 35:00Speaker 1: like half the top five for your shows, like I
- 35:04Speaker 1: s is them. Most listened to Number two's Light FM,
- 35:07Speaker 1: Number three the Z one hundred you created the Morning Zoo.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Number four CBS FM, that was your show for years,
- 35:13Speaker 1: the number four Jim Kerr. What a You've created quite
- 35:17Speaker 1: a legacy. You've left your mark all over New York radio.
- 35:21Speaker 6: Well, I just I saw what I do. I just
- 35:24Speaker 6: I love it, and I'm really you know, a lot
- 35:27Speaker 6: of people don't understand because a couple of times in
- 35:30Speaker 6: the past. In the past, Sean has asked me to
- 35:34Speaker 6: fill in on his show. I don't. I don't do that,
- 35:38Speaker 6: you do, I don't, And I just I just it's
- 35:42Speaker 6: just not that I love working with music. I actually
- 35:45Speaker 6: got into radio because of my love for music. That's
- 35:50Speaker 6: how I did.
- 35:52Speaker 1: You want to be a singer or something at some
- 35:53Speaker 1: point when you were young?
- 35:54Speaker 6: No, No, I can't sing and I try to play
- 35:57Speaker 6: to get to learn how to play the guitar. That
- 35:59Speaker 6: didn't work. I bought a far feast of one of
- 36:02Speaker 6: those stand up keyboards. I gotta play two songs you play? Uh?
- 36:08Speaker 6: The one was that what is it is? Downtown? Only
- 36:13Speaker 6: the Downtown. She's about a move like that out. Yeah,
- 36:20Speaker 6: so you still got it man.
- 36:22Speaker 1: He also Barrett Media, that's the trade magazine of the
- 36:26Speaker 1: radio industry, the Big They have the Big Summit every
- 36:29Speaker 1: year in New York. There. Now they've just announced the
- 36:31Speaker 1: big award this year will be the Scott Shannon Award.
