- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome out to the No Time to Waste Podcast Studio.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: I'm your guide, Marcus Murray, and today we have a very exciting and interesting set of information that I'm going to go over with you.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: And I believe it's going to be the game changer for many people that are caught in the middle of shifts and transitions.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: I took a lot of notes.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: I'm going to go very fast and try to get through this so that you leave with some information that's very powerful.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: What is happening right now is we're going through one of the greatest shifts in our economic history.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: It is literally taking the world by storm, like it or not.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: So the question I have for you: what if it were possible to position yourself ahead of a shift to literally pivot into position, capitalizing on partnership that will allow you to profit regardless of what's going on in the economy?
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Really, in order to get ready for that concept, we have to look at history.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: So I had to go and do a little bit of digging to come up with some historical information to share with you.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: So we're going to go all the way back.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: We're going to go back to the colonial age.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: And the reason we're going that far back is because we often hear in today's culture the concept of colonialism and colonizing.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: We hear that as something very negative, as though people should be punished for that.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: And actually, what's bizarre is it's almost as though people want to punish the people that exist today for transition and change that happened hundreds of years ago.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: That doesn't really make sense.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: So I wanted to really unpack that.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: So the colonial age was from 1607 to 1776.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: And I'm going to look at this from a different perspective because, in order for us to achieve the degree of success that we're destined for to actually leave a legacy for our children and our children's children, we have to have information in the proper perspective.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: So if you take a look at it, during that season, plantation owners and trade merchants were the wealthy people of the day.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: And so the bottom line in the colonial age, it was resource extraction, particularly tobacco, fur, and wood or timber.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: That was the product of the day.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: The people that participated were able to become extremely wealthy.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: But that was immediately followed by the agrarian expansion, which really was about farming.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: So that was from 1776 to the 1820s.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: And during that time period, farming and the move westward was the thing of the day.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: It was about expanding the country and moving to the west.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: And at that time, if we remember from social studies, they talked about the fact that cotton was king.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: So if you remember that, cotton was king.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: That was when people were actually picking cotton.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: So the people that were plantation owners, land speculators, really from the south, southern plantation owners in particular, and early inventors, those were the ones that made the majority of the money.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Remember, then came Eli Whitney with the cotton gin, which was a way that they could pick the cotton and take the seeds out of the cotton in a faster method than what even sharecroppers and people that worked on the plantations could do, which actually ushered in the Industrial Revolution.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: And that was from the 1820s to the 1900s.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Stay with me.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: I am going somewhere, and you need this information.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: During the Industrial Revolution, which was from the 1820s to the 1900s, it was all about railroads, steel, and oil.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: The families that were involved in those industries became extremely wealthy.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: They were at the forefront.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: And as a result, those people would have been your factory owners, your railroad inventors, and the industrialists.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: But that led us into the gilded age, which was from the 1870s to the 90s, where everything was about corporate consolidation.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: So those people that were good at mergers and acquisitions, the attorneys that had mostly come from other countries, bankers, and early stock investors, those were the ones that made all the money.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: And that ushered in the Great Depression.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: So if you remember that, we were at war, World War II.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: This was from 1929 to 1945.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: And the bottom line is the people that made money during that time were the manufacturers of wartime products.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Then we got to the post-war boom.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: That was from 1945 to 1970.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: When that happened, the baby boomers, we had all gotten together and all had kids, anything supporting those babies made money.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Housing, automobiles, consumer goods, even toys.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: Those were all huge industries.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: And who made money?
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: So the seventh shift was financialization when banking became the place to make the money.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Wall Street investors made money, real estate investors made money, and the tech creators came on the scene making money through early technology.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Again, that was from the 1970s to the 1980s.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: What's interesting about all these phases of time, music was also really huge, and different genres of music became popular.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: And in the 80s, that was the uh time period of Michael Jackson.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: In my mind, what that reflected and demonstrated was the onset of massive distraction.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: While we were watching Thriller, people were becoming wealthy and we were missing it.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Ushered in the technological and the globalization age, which was from 1990 to 2008.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: This is getting very important.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Why is this important?
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: People made tons of money in technology.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: So if you were a tech person, that was the industry where the money was.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: But it led to the 2008 housing crisis, the financial crisis, low interest rates, lots of problems.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: The people that made money then were the real estate investors, stock investors, and the tech giants.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Why is that important?
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: That led us to the next transition, which is where we are now, the digital and AI age.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: This started in 2020 and it's going on right now.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: So what does it involve?
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: Data, platforms, AI, digital ownership, and who's making the money.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: This is what I need you to hear.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Technology builders, content creators, digital entrepreneurs, and early adopters of new platforms.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: That's who's making the money.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: Let's break that down.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: So technology builders are going to be the big companies like the Nvidia's, right?
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: But the content creators are actually regular people like you and I.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: The digital entrepreneurs are content creators and regular individuals that are literally embracing technology that's available today.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: They're embracing it, promoting it, and they're becoming wealthy.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: And you have that opportunity.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: And the early adopters of new platforms.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: I shared with you in a previous podcast that we had recently tapped into the travel industry, the travel industry, and some of the very new technologies that are out here, and it's been amazing.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: Early adaptation positions you for significant success in the future.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: I'm going to challenge you with a closing thought.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: If you are one of those individuals that we discussed and you already have your hands on something that is generating a remarkable amount of wealth, keep doing what you're doing.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: If it is in your business where you're marketing makeup or vitamins or whatever, if it is working and it's generating ongoing residual income, please keep doing what you're doing.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: We are now in an economy where every single person must have, in order to survive, multiple streams of income.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: What does that mean?
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: You need to have a job that provides ongoing steady income.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: You need to have a business, preferably a home-based business, that allows you to generate additional income.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: And if you don't have that, you need a service that you're able to offer, a side hustle, be it painting or something that you can do, cleaning, cooking, something to assist others and generate revenue.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: The bottom line, one source of income will no longer work.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: And it is important that you're paying attention to the industries and the trends that are moving the future.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: Now, as I always do, I share a letter to my sons.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: And obviously, you know by now that I do have three sons, so I'm very honored to have them.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: And it's very important that at some point in life when I'm no longer here, they'll be able to go back and they'll be able to read the letters that I wrote to them.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: And I'm certain in those days and in the days to come, they'll prove to be very valuable.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: My son, there's a truth I need you to understand because the world won't teach you this or won't give you enough time to understand their explanation.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Extinction is not just for animals, it's for men who stopped adapting.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Early industries have disappeared, and entire skill sets have become irrelevant.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: Entire generations have been left behind, not because they lacked intelligence, but because they failed to recognize when the world had changed.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: I don't want that for you.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: I want you to become a man who sees what others ignore, who moves before the crowd, who positions himself where opportunity is forming and not where it's already passed.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Every moment of wealth has been built on changing trends.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: Land created wealth in one generation, industry in another, information technology in this current one.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: And now there's a new shift, one that's driven by automation, artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and most importantly, leverage.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: The man who learns, adapts, and builds within these systems will rise, and the man who resists change will struggle to survive.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: My son, don't become comfortable with what you already know, because comfort is the quiet beginning of extinction.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: Pay attention to what people are using, how money is moving, where your time is being spent, what problems are growing, and as you notice where attention goes, money follows.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: Where problems grow, that's where opportunity is waiting.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: Don't simply consume technology.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: Learn to use it, to build with it, and to position yourself ahead of it.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: Learn skills that make you great.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: A man who depends only on labor will always be limited.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: A man who learns to leverage through systems, people, and technology can build something that will last far beyond his lifetime.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: I also need you to understand something.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: You don't have to chase every trend, but you can ignore shifts.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Study them, understand them, and decide how they can serve your purpose.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: Because the future will not reward hesitation.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: It will only reward awareness and action.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: My prayer for you is that you become a man who sees clearly, moves decisively, builds intentionally, and leaves something behind that outlives you.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: Anticipate, prepare, and lead.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: And remember, extinction is never sudden.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: It's slow and it's quiet.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: So keep learning, keep evolving, keep building.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: There's so much in you and too much ahead of you for you to ever become irrelevant.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: I believe in the man you're becoming.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Love always.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: Dad.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: Well, thank you for attending another session of the No Time to Waste podcast.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: And I just want to encourage you to do one thing.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Pay attention to the changing that we're experiencing in our economy.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: And most importantly, don't let change overtake you.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: Move, pivot, shift, do what's necessary, create partnership, and most importantly, seize the day.
