- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's casual Friday for those by the way.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you don't have to wear the tuxedo and pretend you give a shit.

- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my goodness, they're going to this is going to be like last week and see it already.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not so much.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so as we do every week, we talk about movies that are coming out this weekend so to speak.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: And then we review a movie that we saw the previous week and then we have some sort of category we talk about.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: So I started to show by telling you that the category is going to be racing against the clock movies, right?
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: Which is a mouthful.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, for a category.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, boom.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: Andrew doesn't want that.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: But I digress on the show.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_02]: Well, wow, there he go.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, all right, so let's see what's coming out this week.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: You got it or you want me to take it?
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'll do it.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: I have two.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: I have a family movie.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's unlimited release, but it's still a family movie.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: Which I think we should do family movies too, because we both have families.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we both were birthed at one point, so we do have families.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: What was that word you just used?
- 2:02[SPEAKER_02]: Birthed, birthed, wow.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: Is that a, is that a web-sternarian word?
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's an actual word, Berthid.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: Or did you get that on the Urban Dictionary?
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: People are, people are Berthid.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's an actual word.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't it birthed?
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: birth, birthed, B-E-T-H-E-R-D.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's not birthed.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: Not birthed.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: Birthiness from gone with the wind.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: Well, she says, I don't know not the my birth and no babies.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's not a word.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: Birthing is not a word, but birth it.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Birth it is.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, the previews of Urban Dictionary.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, family movie coming out in Limitit Release, as you said.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: What's it called?
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's called Tafidi across the desert.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: And to feed, he's been in a bunch of other animated movies.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's just an animated movie.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: And so people will know who the character is.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a fun movie.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's, I mean, the trailer look like fun.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: So it would be fun.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I could take my grandkids with to that one with me and then get their opinions.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like you're trying to build the case for this, and you don't really have to.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: Is it a movie?
- 3:01[SPEAKER_02]: Is it animated or is it live-action?
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's animated.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: OK.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: And it made you can do if you want you can do two like I did two weeks ago when we talked about No, because the other one actually wasn't too.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: He's goes last week when we talked about that got off a movie dead man's wire So if you want to see yeah, that was actually very good by the way.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: No, it was terrible.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: No, it was not to have been done in 30 seconds.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: No
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: could not could have been done or things you could do in 30 seconds that wasn't one of them we're in this is a PG show so be careful I didn't say anything yeah well we know you have another path anyway all right so what was your other movie the other one was uh send help really yes which I'm not a fan of gorefic movies this way I'm still going to work gorefic but I do like Rachel McCadams
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I haven't seen her in a role like this.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: Rachel, what?
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: Rachel McAdams.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's McAdams.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: McAdams.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's McAdams.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like McDonald's.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: McAdams.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: What are you saying?
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm saying.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: No, yes.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: You're saying, huh?
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: Where's the F?
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: No, S. Make atoms.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's, make atoms.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: Within S. Make atoms.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: The N. Yes.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: Where else would it be?
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't know what you do.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: Where's you, you need to emphasize a syllable.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what you're doing.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: I said Rachel, make atoms.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: Now you said it right.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: What have I said before, McDonald?
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: No, you said something totally different before.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, okay.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I like her.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: I've liked her ever since, uh, wedding.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think it wasn't she in the preacher's wife or something like that.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: She was in some... She might have been.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: Could I like her in wedding crushers?
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: I started to like her then.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I've seen her in a couple other movies, but not in a role like this.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: So I really want to see how she pulls this off.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like she played Lois Lane too in a Superman movie.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, she might have.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: She might have.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_02]: This is kind of like for me, it's, um, or maybe not lowest, maybe a someone else that's like popular.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: This is, she's just, I want to see this movie because it's like, um, Meg Ryan was America's sweetheart for so long.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then she made a movie cut in the cut.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you saw that.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: And it's 180 degree turn from an America sweet heart role.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: And she really did not pull it off in my opinion.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see a Rachel can pull this off.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: So I'd like to see that.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to see the other one too.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I probably won't go see the other one.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's an unlimited release.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: I might go see it anyway.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: But this one, I think we should preview, send help.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I remember where I know Rachel from.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: that's okay but there's another movie that she was in that I absolutely love and you can take away my man card all you want it's called the vow.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah I thought oh my very good movie goodness was that a great one.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah you don't take it you know
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: Some people, you know, you could have a man card and still like sensitive movie.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: I love Leapier, love watching Leapier, I love watching a movie with Cano Reeves, Claude Walker, walk up among the clouds, walk up, walk up among the clouds, walk in the clouds, walk in the clouds, a walk in the clouds, say, yeah, that's as it take your man card.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, I think it makes your man card even more manly if you can, if you can show that emotion, it was a joke and they're not funny when you have to explain them.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's not a joke to me because I think that's a big prominent society right now.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: The men don't want to be sensitive.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: They want to be men.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_02]: I was just trying to be funny.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's clearly a bad fighter in front of my face.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: But that's not the part of the show.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's my part.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there we go.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: But yes, Rick, I do appreciate Rachel McAdams for the movie.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_02]: The vowel also from her role in documents.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_02]: McAdams.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_02]: That's what you said.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's not McAdams.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: McAdams.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: No, you said something.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: You said MacAdams.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it was.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: MacAdams.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you said MacAdams.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it was.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_02]: must have been the Chicago or something like that.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so yeah, that's what the city, what we know that.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: The question is, did you really grow up?
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, no, that is not even a question.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so you had some help and what was the other movie about something about toes?
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: to feedy that's the desert to feedy that's all it's well to feedies you know feedies right to feedy anyway so those to feedy is in limited release folks just so you know the the other three movies that are actually going to be in like a nationwide release are iron long which every time I see that name all I can think of is a song from we're delianic vick Mr. Frumpin is iron long I think it's with the name of that song is but anyway so there's my nerd ship for that that one right there
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: a film called Shelter and then also the moment.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: Those are all going to be in nationwide release and I won't give my comments about what the moment is all about anyway.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I don't want to give this away because we haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm guessing that somewhere in the movie send help
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: they buy insurance because it's the guy from all state is in this movie uh... dentists hazbert and so i'm guessing that the help comes in the form of an insurance policy i would think that it's probably just going to be a movie filled with mayhem
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, not because that's not sending help, but that's the character he plays.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: You have that you are totally off the rail here The movie says send help and you want to send mayhem What is wrong with you?
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't you watching us to hit commercial.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but this guy is an off-state guy, too He's the one that says you're in good hands.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_01]: What else do you?
- 8:44[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay?
- 8:45[SPEAKER_02]: My bad.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you're talking about that guy.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: I thought you were talking about the other guy.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, not the me, him guy.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's the guy from, uh, it's a good hands guy.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_02]: What's the baseball movie that he was from that he played the, the, the, the Simone or whatever.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I, uh,
- 9:00[SPEAKER_02]: Charlie Dennis Charlie, what's his name is in it?
- 9:05[SPEAKER_02]: Charlie Sheen Charlie Sheen Major League yeah, he played the Samoan that is correct.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know if he was Samoan, but anyway, he was I don't think he was supposed to be Simone in the movie He had some really weird things and then I think in this one.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: There was Samoan in that movie though The better it was he's anyway Wow
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, didn't take long to go there.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so move it on.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about Mercy, okay?
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: Mercy, have some right now anyway.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: So, did you go first last time?
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, you went first last time, but it's right, so you're not gonna like me and I'm sorry.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so this movie was approximately an hour and 45 minutes.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: How do I know that because they gave you a timer?
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I like that.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_02]: No, I hated that.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, actually, no, I did appreciate that.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: Cause that told me how much longer had to endure a movie that could have been done in like 30 seconds.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_02]: With you 30 seconds.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: You just want to, one of which is, one of which is review commercials.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so 30 cents no it's not a short attention span.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: I have I have a a really short Span don't say stuff that is clearly written by AI which is exactly where this script came from.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: It looks like somebody took it and put it in a chat GPT much like trivia questions And then spit it out
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: It was an inside joke.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, the point of this is that, okay, so what's the premise of the movie, right?
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Chris Platt's character, which I don't remember his name because that's how much I paid attention to the movie because it was just that bad.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: I figured out who did this raven.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Chris raven.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: I figured out who did it within the first 20 seconds.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, because there's a bunch of clips and all that kind of stuff and I went, oh, wow, really.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: And then I believe that the of the Galveston it is clearly not just for eye candy.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: and that's pretty much all that she's there for the judge the play is a judge right exactly i don't know how you got i can be out of that because like frosty she was like little with unfraiser well how's that i can be there are some people that enjoy that type of person and you you're being afraid you're being fraiser fan you know i don't know you didn't like little with well okay anyway like little
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: She's an amazing dancer, by the way, than their actress.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, see, now you're flipping the switch.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: Now you're like, oh, well, I did like Lilith.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: I do.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_02]: But they're like, this girl is a good character for Frazier.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: As was BB.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: So we are going on.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: OK, we're going off to have another pass.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: And just going to get mad at us.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: And so is your, so is your other son.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: Because yes, I know he's going to go.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: Because he's going to land based us over something.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's going to come back and say, you got to want to rip.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, did you watch it yet?
- 11:41[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, you're killing me.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: I know, it was such a good, all right.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: So, Mercy, what was great about it?
- 11:47[SPEAKER_02]: The fact that there was a timer, so I could tell how long it was until the movie was over.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't bad.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: It was entertaining.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: It was okay.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad I saw it for five bucks because I wouldn't have paid anything else for it.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: And no, it's not because I said you went Monday.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: Right, I'm a movie club member.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, but the only two days is fine.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: Well, but mine worked.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_02]: You just didn't.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: I had a gal behind the counter.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, uh, yeah, so.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's what you're just going to have when you try to go on a Wednesday.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: I guess.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: They're not awake on Monday.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: So there you go.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, um, yeah, other than that, I mean, it was predictable.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: It was, uh, first of all,
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: If this really was AI, why was the crime?
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: Why do they even need Chris Pratt in the first place?
- 12:30[SPEAKER_02]: AI should be able to solve the crime like that, with all the footage they had and everything else.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: And we had to go through this whole process and he had to be like, I get the whole due processing, right?
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: Because they're still trying to keep it with the way we work as far as the law system is concerned to treat the system and all that kind of stuff.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: But it's a movie.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_02]: And if we're talking about AI and AI is as intelligent as it is, why in the world,
- 12:52[SPEAKER_02]: did we have to go through all of this?
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: Why couldn't I just say yes, this is who did it?
- 12:59[SPEAKER_02]: You don't want to answer that now?
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: Well, no, because I was just that was one of those uh, what's that phrase when you just asked a question and you don't really, you're not really looking for an answer?
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: Ridiculous?
- 13:07[SPEAKER_02]: No, yeah, okay.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, no.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: rhetorical but it starts in our nice nice job.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: That was our word.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I had another one, but I didn't want to say it.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: Well, because it's your restricted.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway Which I think is send help is gonna be restricted by the way, so there you go.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: I can't believe you're gonna see that.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, okay I don't see a lot.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: I give it a five five and that's about all I'm gonna say with them.
- 13:31[UNKNOWN]: Okay
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: Are you done?
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to wait for your seven now.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: Are you done?
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm done.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm done ripping out of hard.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: OK. No, I'm not.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm just going to go.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: In the words of Dan Acroyd from SNL, Jane.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: You.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, I'm not going to say it.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: OK, here's what I think.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: We could say that word.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: He wouldn't have to edit it out.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: I know, but I don't want it.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want it.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: My name's not Jane.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I know, but it's just trying to make a point.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: That you're wrong.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone's entitled to their own dumb stupid opinion.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the move, I liked the clock.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the clock was a cool thing.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: And it was like, to the minute, almost right to the end of the movie, which I liked that.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: I liked that a lot.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: And in fact, I was paying attention to make sure that they really did do that.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: And it did.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it had a really good pace.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: I thought there were no dead moments in it.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: I thought there were some surprises.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't pick the sponsor.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Careful.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: To be the killer?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: Do you realize that you have to say spoiler alert?
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: spoiler alert.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: Armand, when you see him, get all over him.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry about that.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I won't promote his shop.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Here's what I think I would rather the year is.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think that first I don't think they needed the daughter in this movie.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to I'm going to say one bad thing the daughter character was useless pointless.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely no need for her.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to give you that.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: They really didn't need the daughter to be kidnapped and all that.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: That to me was irrelevant to what the story was really about in my opinion.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: I do want to say this though.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: Chris Pratt and the other gal whose name I'm sorry that I don't remember, I think they did well with what they had.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not taking away from their performances or anything like that, the rest of the cast, I don't feel like they needed to be there, including the guy from
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: that baseball movie that I can't think of the name of again.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, other than that, I mean, I felt like the script was written by chatGPT, but I know I'm sorry.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: And it could have been, but I think, and I'm getting to that point.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't think
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: sub-realistic way this movie, whoever wrote it intentionally or not, was trying to give us a glimpse into what might be coming down the road for America and the world in terms of what AI is going to be asked to do.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now the other side of that coin is that it also the other message is that it's not the end
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: The AI didn't solve the crime, that was the point of the movie, to me, two messages.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: This could be our future, but be careful because it's not full proof.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: What solved the murder had nothing to do with AI, had to do with gut instinct.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: That the AI didn't understand.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: The AI was a tool that Chris Pratt was able to use to find out what happened by looking back at certain things.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, I think there's a lot of that surveillance should go in on that we don't even know about and I think that was part of it to a hundred percent.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: Markle Van Bell is the writer.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so I thought those are two subliminal messages.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they weren't exact.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: I love to talk to the guy in asking, but so I thought I would give the movie like an eight.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't watch it again because I thought it was quick pace.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the writing was good.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was a unique concept and I thought the effects were really cool.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: Would it be able to see all of the different screens and call anything up?
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, imagine if you could do that in a trial and show the jury these things like an indisputable kind of evidence, which is great.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: in a trial.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what I thought.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was good.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: I enjoyed it.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, could it be a little shorter?
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: Could it be a little shorter?
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: But nowadays a lot of these movies they're making nowadays could all be kind of shorter.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: You take it out the whole daughter part and it's 25 minutes less.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: The daughter to me had no real purpose of being there in the movie.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: I really didn't see a reason.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the wife gets killed.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: The guy gets put on trial for the murder.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: And then he's got to figure out this out in a time in an amount of time.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: That all works for me.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: having the daughter and her and having the guy kidnapped.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: So he'll alert, having the guy kidnapped her.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: To me, I'm not given the biggest part of it.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: No, you already did that.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: No, you're not.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not really.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you did.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sorry.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not exactly going to kill her.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, not necessarily.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: Don't listen to that.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: Andrew, edit that out.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, that's what I thought.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was a good movie.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: I enjoyed it.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: I need to enjoy paying $7.54 because I went on a Wednesday instead of a Tuesday, but hey,
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'll live with that.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: You know what the greatest dating app is?
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: The greatest dating app?
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: Church.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_02]: Google calendar.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, why is that?
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: Dating app.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't get it.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, I actually have to explain this to you.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: There's dates on a calendar.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, moving on.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway,
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: So you gave in an a totally cow.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Mercy's kind of one of those movies that I'll never see again.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll probably forget in the next like, I don't know, 30 seconds.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: I will say this though.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: Say this.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: It probably was better in 3D.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, maybe.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: There were a lot of situations where I was a little bit dirty.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm over that.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: We know.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: Here's what I think about a 3D, and I'm excellent on that.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I said this before, spoiler alert.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: When I worked for McDonald's, no spoiler alert.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: When I worked for McDonald's Corporation, I worked in the creative services.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: And we had a meeting with everybody one day, and I said, why are we still?
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you guys paying millions of dollars
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: when video has the capability to look like film.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: And if it's the message, not the medium, why don't you cut your costs and use video, right?
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: And the argument was that film can convey motion better than video.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, no, I mean, a conveyor motion, but so can video.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's why they use video for the Olympics and they just slow down.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: Once you slow down, you get that emotion out.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: When you see the tumbler going over, turning her ankle and still getting a nine, it's the emotion.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's not, again, it's the message, not the medium.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: Same thing here with IMAX and 3D.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see a big difference in that, as a professional.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think people like for commercials, I don't think people at home see a big difference either.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: They don't tell, they don't sit and go, shit, I'm not going to watch this commercial, I'm not on a video camera.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: They're telling you to go shoot movies on a damn iPhone nowadays.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, 3D IMAX, not my thing.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: I watch it in a regular theory.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_01]: I want a big screen for a lot of movies like Star Wars.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: There's a Mandalorian coming out.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see that on a big screen.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: There's space balls too coming out.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see that on a big screen.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't need to see it in IMAX or 3D.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: My opinion.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_02]: And then they're super girl coming out this summer.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: See if DC can keep going.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it looks good too.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't need to see that in 3D.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: No, if it was Valley Parton, it may be.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'd want the 3D.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_02]: Are you ever not 12?
- 21:28[SPEAKER_02]: She just turned 80.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: Do you ever not 12?
- 21:30[SPEAKER_02]: That's 40 each.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: That's 40 East anyway.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_02]: I see what you did there.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Andrew, edit that out, please.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so, moving on.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for not breathing heavy.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my goodness.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_02]: OK, anyway, you see what I have to deal with people?
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: This is why I have paths.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: OK. And I'm just going to, I'm going to upgrade the Snickers now because I think that's what's going to do.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: OK.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: Right, so we know you like nuts.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I'll go first here.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: OK, good.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: Similar.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: Because I still don't understand your categorization of this.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: Similar movies.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: Racing against a clock.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: OK.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: I understand one of my favorites.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'll give you my second favorite.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm going to give you a classic one.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: same kind of situation.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_01]: Similar, similar synapses.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's only got a certain amount of time to do the mission, whatever the mission is.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: And so that, but that, that was a better movie than this, I'll give you that.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: The other one, the classic that is also the similar, similar genre of, of running against the clock is foam booth with Colin Farrell and a bunch of other people, Keith or Sutherland.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's another one where there's a time thing.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm saying.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: These are all movies where there's a, you have a span of time that you have to get something done.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever it is.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Diehard has that, too, in the, not the first one, but the, Diehard with the veterans.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: Where he's got to run around New York.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: Same kind of thing.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: That could be in there, too.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: My favorite of all of these time movies, though, is out of time.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: to over there.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's Andrew in the back of me.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: Every movie has time.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but they don't have a protagonist who has a certain amount of time to get something done.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_02]: So the best part is this literally every movie has time and you are, we just reviewed a movie that literally had a clock on screen the entire time.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: But all movies don't have a time.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm movies don't have a time they are all sad Romantic comedy don't have okay you have an hour thirty minutes to meet this girl get her pregnant in by a house You you really need to pick up a webster's dictionary and actually read it because the definition of time Yes, it's not necessarily is is is is is the the distance of measure of that something no Please, I know what time is
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm clearly I read Freud rewind back actually, you know, this would be a good time for us to put a pause throw in the jeopardy theme right here and then repeat what he just said about time no just to prove the point that about time it's about movies a genre of movies you're about out of time where they give the protagonist that's a big word look it up
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: They give the protagonist a certain amount of time to complete something.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: In this case, in Mercy, he had to solve the murder of his wife and clear his name.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: My favorite movie that does that is called out of time with Denza Washington and Eva Mendez.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I would watch it even just for Eva Mendez.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: But he has a certain amount of time to do something too.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: I won't tell you what it is in case you haven't seen it.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: But.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: I like those kind of movies where the lead character has a finite amount of time before they die, or before someone in their family dies, or before in Taken.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: He had a certain amount of time before his daughter gets on a boat with a fat guy rich guy who's going to keep her as a slave.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: But there's a time there, and I like that, not all movies have that.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: All movies obviously have a time.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's a two minute to our movie hour and a half movie obviously they also have a time in place in other words where they take place.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: Well, of course.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: Well, what you said was home movie.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: The garden now.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well, clearly, of course is a time or two.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's the fact that you're 12 all the time.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're saying the distinction in this category is that the protagonist lead character has a finite amount of time in the plot.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: The finite amount of time isn't in every plot and every movie.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty woman didn't have a finite amount of time.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_01]: She could have gone bad to be a hook or any time.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: There was no, oh, I got to go get her out of this apartment before she goes back to hooking within an hour.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: No, that wasn't the case.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: He could have never gone back.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: And she would have gone back to hooking.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: So there is no time element in that movie.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: Until she fell in love with him.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if that she fell in love with him.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think she knew we had a lot of money.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: She could get out of there.
- 26:14[UNKNOWN]: Wow.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: not my favorite movie.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: As we know, I don't think young girls should be out there idolizing hookers because they met a rich guy in this side.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: That was just a smart way to go with the poster.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: And you are out of going back to the street too.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: So there we go.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, that's because you need another pass.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: So the two movies that I picked for this category, which just in case you've lost what it was, you didn't amount of time that it took you to describe all of that stuff.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's called racing against the clock.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to save this.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, in the essence of what I believe this to be is the movie has to do something with something has to be done in a certain amount of time Which I think you just spent the last just here that I think you just spent the last 20 minutes trying to describe and I did it for you in literally three seconds
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: So, oh, you're so good.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: That's what she said.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, the first one that I will pay Andrew, you're not supposed to do that.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you remember the notes that we got?
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I did.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_02]: So easy their Darth.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: OK. OK. You mentioned Taken.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_02]: So Taken was going to be a runner up.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: OK.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_02]: Through it into the moment.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, run your whole diorade about the entire thing that you just went on for days about.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_02]: Do I do that?
- 27:24[SPEAKER_02]: I wish I would have had a red bull.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, okay.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_02]: So yes, taken would be like kind of my I guess honorable mention.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, speed Yeah, I was I had speed of my money.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: There's another one that I would say that's a runner-up.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, and then you're probably not gonna agree with this And that's perfectly fine because we're all entitled to our own dumb stupid opinion including yours Run Lola run Okay
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: God, you are so wrong the last two weeks.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: I don't understand it.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: What can I say?
- 27:54[SPEAKER_02]: You don't get the artsy fartsy movies, and that's fine.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_02]: Are you eating well?
- 27:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'm eating very well.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: You on the other hand, need to have some more paths.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_02]: So there we go.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's all around.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: You're taking run, Lola Run, over out of time.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen out of time?
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen out of time.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: And you took run, Lola Run, over time.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to come up with the same movie you came up with.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, so how does that give you how does that give people the the multitude of of suggestions multitude.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, the multitude of suggestions.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you're 25 with you.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: There's your 25 cent word for the day.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: So premium agonist.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it's a multitude.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes, of course.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, but it has a great cast and it's got a great it's a good movie.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great movie.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's a great movie I am db the highest rate.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: I've got ninety-three percent of rotten tomatoes 7.6 out of 10 on I am db so there you go out of time has a high rotten tomatoes.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure it does but we're out of time And that's the way it is.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so next week Tune in for the episode that we're going to do best actors on now.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: It is officially stated
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: that we are still going to do, send help.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: Well, still to send help.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: We've already done horrible things.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: Best act.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: Well, because we've already done horror movies.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: And since you have this thing about Rachel McAdams, maybe, she'll fall into your best.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_02]: And with actors, it's not just actors.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_02]: It could be actresses, because now they kind of combine those two in the world, an actor could also be an actress.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: That you should be non-gender in my opinion.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_02]: But whatever, it is what it is.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: And it doesn't have to be a...
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: lead actor, by the way, can we support an actor?
- 29:28[SPEAKER_02]: No, lead actor, because best supporting actor or actress is also a category.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_01]: I remember we're trying to do the different movie on that.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_02]: We're trying to do we if we get there.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see you keep talking about the problems we just keep running and running and running and running and running and running and running and then 25 and you're done.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's going to
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: So to divorce after 25, will you?
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, because you didn't get me anything sober.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, that's later.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like machinery.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so episode 26, we'll talk about our best, our favorite actors because the whole point of these episodes is to do things in time with the Oscars, which is coming up soon.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: Right, right.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: There is a time limit.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, sir.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: So there we go.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: We're easy and against the clock.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_02]: Are we?
- 30:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: Now, thanks to you because you had to do this.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: We could have started with best actors this week, but no.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, that's it for the show then, right?
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: But we do have to recap.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be going to review, send help next week.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_02]: And then we'll talk about best actors or actresses whatever.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_02]: We'll just combine those two because we're running out of time.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_02]: We can see you.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: But that's going to do the episode for the week.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: Remember, always save us some popcorn.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's a cheesy popcorn.
