As Brett just said two seconds ago, we officially have alerted for a bit. We officially have alerts from it. We're one one one away from a driver's license. Bang. but to s to address that in such a short amount of time, I'm very happy with the growth of this show and the work that we've all put in to make it that way. we just hit fourteen hundred views on our last episode. Thank you guys so so much for that. That that was such a crazy number to see. We got seventeen subscribers from the episode. No one had any comments though. I was I was interested in that, but Yeah, drop a comment. Yeah. We want to interact with you. Regardless. Thank you so much. Fourteen hundred is insane. Subscribers went up big time. And I I just think it's only up from here. Yeah, absolutely. I think that that support on that episode was amazing. The support just in like the last month, I think, has been just in ex insane to see from everybody there. So hopefully it keeps up and hopefully y'all keeps up fucking with us, Loki. Yeah. Yeah. Shout out to you. Yeah. All right. Go go bees go Broncos. So that think that covers mostly that. If you are watching on YouTube, by the way, make sure you subscribe. 50% of y'all are watching this on your recommended feed and not subscribing. So we just hit 100. We want that number to keep going up. So make sure you subscribe, like, and drop a comment below. But now that we've taken care of that, I want to go over quick housekeeping with the other sports before we dive into football as you are here for that probably. But women's volleyball, we're in the middle of the season towards gearing up for that third act. It seems to be just the same show, week in, week out. Colorado State at San Diego State at that one and two in Colorado State still has not lost in it feels like forever. Seven and in conference, fourteen and three overall, winning streak of eight games in a row. Then the Aztecs follow behind them. Seven and one in conference, twelve and six overall have won seven in a row. But then the Beavs pick up a huge win. Four and two in conference now, nine and eight overall. They've gone on a one game winning streak to turn around. But the rest of the teams have had not very good luck. Boise State lost their last two. They're four and three in that four spot. The conference. They still qualify for the Pac-Twelve tournament if it ed today, but they're twelve and eight overall. Then the rest of the teams on the outside looking in is Wazoo, Fresno State, Utah State, Texas State, and Gonzaga. Texas State at Utah State stick out as they have lost Utah State's lost four to row. Texas State has lost three to row. Utah State three and fourteen overall, two and five in conference, but still have a better conference record than Texas State. Second to last, two and six in conference, seven and twelve overall. And then Fresno State Wazoo, very much neck and neck. Wazoo is three and four in conference, while Fresno State's two and six. Both teams are under five hundred, with Wazoo being eight and nine and Fresno State being seven eleven. And then Gonzaga, last team in the conference, one and six in conference, seven thirteen overall. Washington State, very good team. They I forgot who they upset. I think they upset Boise a few nights ago. And they they were in San Marcus just a few weeks ago as well. Very impressive team. Alrighty. Now we're gonna go into the women's soccer standings. It's been a neck and neck race. We finally see something not a win for Utah State. They had a draw against the bottom team in the league, Fresno State. so one in the first and the last in a deck and deck battle, but they still raided with 13 points in the conference, four wins, no losses at a draw. Eleven, two and three to in the season. Boise State right behind them. Twelve points in the conference, four and one overall. Twelve wins, two losses and one draw. Then San Diego State, Wazoo, and Colorado State are the three teams that are three through five. San Diego State, seven points, two wins, one loss, and one draw in the conference. Wazoo is two and two. That's two wins and two losses in the conference in the c Colorado State. Two wins, three losses in the conference. They have only Won three games in the season, but two of those were a conference play. Then Gonzaga picks up a couple points in the conference. They are from and two to two and two and now are in that fourth from last spot. The Texas State got their first three points at the conference this past weekend. They are one two and one in conference play. Then the last two teams who have yet to pick up a weighted conference play, Oregon State and Fresno State. Oregon State with two points and Fresno State with one. And Brett. You got your Utah State jersey finally in the mail, the blackout one. I did, and it fits perfectly. I love it. I I total miscalculation not wearing it today, my apologies. But it will be it'll be at the very least it'll be in sight at our Pac 12 studios in a few weeks. So you'll I guess you'll see it then, but if you know but if I'll probably wear it. Dude, shout out to me, bro. I found that for you, bro. Come on now. Yeah, thank you for spotting that. I would I honestly would have never have seen that. I th thank you so much. I literally went down like a rabbit hole 'cause I I think it was me and you talking about Jesse Legree jerseys and stuff. and so I was just like going through just like what's what are schools selling themselves? 'Cause like one school may s not sell as much stuff as another, like Oregon State's on Fanatics or like their team stores sponsored by Fanatics and You know some schools aren't, so I just looking at team shops like, man, who's selling sick jerseys? And I was like, I'll see what Utah State has. They had some cool shirts. Boom, black jersey right there. And at a good price as well. Yeah, I wish it was a number eighty eight. Yeah, I thought you I thought you would be able to customize it or like just get zero, double zero would seem more normal, but like is I wonder if there's a meaning to eighty eight being that. Like eighteen eighty eight? I don't know, university. How old is Utah State? It's a question. I what Texas State was eighteen ninety nine, no? So eighty eight is a commonly referred to state route eighty eight, a seventeen mile state highway in U na U U I N T A H county connecting O'Reilly to US forty and US one ninety near Fort Duchesne. Alrighty. Well and maybe Dan could tell us what that means. Yeah, sure. Alrighty. That'll wrap up those two sports there competitive. But we move on to football now and what a weekend it was. High scoring weekend for a couple teams and a a crazy upset that we did not see. But we will cover the first game of the slate. Thursday night football, college football edition, Colorado State traveled to San Marcus to take on the Texas State Bobcats. It was a predicted to be a shootout and the fireworks would back up the claim. Texas State whooped on them 66 to 27 No Haas Haney. He was ruled out earlier in the week after our episode of K who would have guessed, right? But unfortunately for the Rams, they definitely missed him. Quezon Ferrar tried his best with that Texas State offense. I mean, when you match up that offense against that defense, I mean you expect this result. Kisson Farrar Ferrar or Quezon Ferrar played really good. No like no no disrespect to him at all. Like I that that performance would win you most games, unfortunately. You just match up against an incredible Texas State offense. Brad Jackson only went fourteen for nineteen with one touchdown like in the air, but he didn't need to do anything else. Torrance Burgess picked up the slack. Brad Jackson was was incredible on the ground as well. Jalen Jenkins, like and you have Diamond Jackson out this week as well. You think the run game might take a hit. It just it there was no it they didn't miss a beat. It was incredible. It's kind of like there's so many like things, like Torrance Burgess's has like four carries of forty or more yards this year and There's like all these little bitty like tidbitty stats that you can throw out there, and it's just so hard to keep up with this team 'cause they do they're doing it so often. But Brad they broke a bunch of records too, right? Yeah, they had most rushing touchdowns in a single game, or at least they tied it with eight, I believe. Yeah. Burgess had four, Brad had three, and Jalen Jenkins had all touchdowns on the ground. Yeah, and then there's what was the other I most yards in a single game, I believe that. Most rushing yards in a game this season. I think most total yards in a game as well. That was seven hundred and sixteen. That's ridiculous, but Brad using his legs a lot. That's what I was kind of excited to see 'cause we know he's been able to do it, but it's just you appreciate him not doing it as much because, you know, you're a quarterback, you're meant to throw the ball and then run when you need to and when you're designed to do it by the coach or the play caller. and I saw him really just I'm not gonna force anything. I see a lane, I'm gonna go. And he took advantage of that Colorado State defense very well. I was gonna say he it seemed like once he got past that front seven, it just was open field. 'Cause it I don't know where the secondary was like that whole game. They were in the parking lot doing walkthroughs still. Yeah, they were doing drills in the hotel room. That's what they were doing. But Brad, like y'all were saying, it's interesting to see how Brad has kind of shifted his playstyle this year. He's definitely sat in the pocket a lot more. Like last year he definitely took off a lot more. That usually tends to happen with your first year starting. You get the jitters. Your first instinct as a running quarterback is, Well, let me just get it with my feet. I can do that. But now he's kinda sat through, he's been able to read, take the game has definitely slowed down for him. And like you said, he didn't force anything. There was lot of times to where like he'd held on for a really long time and usually that's a bad thing for quarterbacks, but Brad Jackson just has such an ability. He has like a running back vision when he gets onto the open field. Like that one play where he got out of the pocket and he cut all the way across field For like what, sixty yards? Yeah, that was like to end the half. And he was only like a half yard away from a a score or six. Like that's something like out of like I don't know, like some you'd see like Johnny Manzel do. Genuinely. That was some Johnny Manzel stuff right there. Brad looked amazing. it's weird this team doesn't really have to run or throw the ball as much. Like they've got such good weapons and they just don't have to use them. It's cra I hate it because I want to see both sparks. have you know three touchdowns and you know hundred and eighty yards, but like they just don't have to. Yeah. They throw that bomb to him in what, the second or third drive of the game. no, because the first drive they played now, you're right. right. But Kenny was like, yeah, we throw that deep ball to Bo and it it lands, right? That shot lands and they're thinking about that the rest of the game and now we're able to just run the ball easily. Yeah. That's what happened. Yeah. No, one hundred percent. I think that every team talks about like Even Dan said it last week. He talked about the receiving core. He was excited to watch that when his team was on a bye and you really didn't get to see much of it. I mean, this team only had fourteen total catches as a unit. The highest receiver was Chris Don with five receptions, but he only had forty four yards. Like that's good yardage. But from a team that's has a hyped up receiving core, you go into a game blind and then you see running the ball, Torrance Bridges, twenty four attempts. Two hundred and twenty four yards. Like he's averaging ten yards of carry damn near. And like you can just do that. Yeah, when when when when it like when what is the adage when like it's when it's not broke, don't fix it, right? So like yeah, i if if you can keep running the ball and you can keep getting these massive gains, these big pickups, twenty yards each time, ten yards each time, like what he was averaging, then yeah, why why would you throw the ball? You don't need to. Torrance Burgess Jr.'s now second. After Saturday, second in the nation in rushing yards. He's on locker four. He no, he is twenty nine yards behind Jamal Roberts of Mizzou. he is who also has fifty nine more rushing attempts than Torrance Burgess Jr. though. We're talking about like that's three carries for Torrance Burgess to tie him or catch him right there. And they're separated by almost sixty rushing attempts. That just shows you how much he's been getting a carry. Well, yeah. I mean, this is like the first game I'll see where he didn't have to split the carries. He's usually been hitting Jackson. He still kinda did with Jenkin and I guess Brad, but when twenty yard twenty attempt game is that's a workhorse game. He's averaging seven point eight a touch or a carry this year. That's insane. But on the flip side, going out of Colorado State, I mean, this is a rough one. You kind of I mean, I saw someone say like they had a bye week to prepare, new D C. I think it's just hard, man. I mean, seeing it in person, I just think that defensive unit, I I'm not sure if they just got the players. You hate to just say that 'cause they are still college athletes, but I mean when you go through a coaching change, it's like you you have a week to prepare for this game and you just see it live how they are tackling and what they're doing the secondary is, it's like I just don't think they got the squad defensively. Yeah, I agree with that. I will say about their offense, it's it's a shame that like it's a sh It's not a shame. It's it's just Texas State got off to such a hot start that this offense got kind of a late start. It was it wasn't until the second quarter that they scored twenty one points. They did score, yeah. That wasn't pretty that they were able to score twenty one points. Like you said, like this performance usually wins you game when you can score twenty one in the second. Yeah. But then when Texas State matches you with twenty four after, you don't score a single point to Texas State twenty one in the first. I'm sorry to interrupt you. No, you're fine. I was just the last thing I was gonna say is that I noticed in the first quarter Colorado State was really leaning on like screen passes and passes to the flat, very short, short minimal gain passes and it wasn't really working for them. Once they started airing it out a little bit, once they let start once they let Ferrar kinda do his thing, it really started working out for him. Unfortunately they just realized that way too late. And it's it it it allowed the Bobcats to pull away. Well Colorado State's really good at running the ball. Like we talk about how explosive their backs are and then Texas State, the second best rushing defense in the entire conference and they just shut that down and made one dimensional. So just knowing that they were gonna throw the ball a bunch, it really limited Ferrar, the receivers, which they also didn't even have RJ Vick. Obviously, don't have Haney. So I believe they also were missing Mel Brown as well. No, he played. He played sixty one out early, though. Six carries, twenty-two yards. Yeah, he was like non existent. He also he did have four receptions for thirty-five. He was more of a threat receiving wise in rushing. Your boy Cedric Ross, man, had a had a career game as well. Nah, no. They shut him down. His return to Texas, he got locked up. Two receptions, negative one yards. I thought it was crazy how three rushing yards. I thought it was crazy how Jim Morrow said post game something we're just now starting to play like a real defense or practice playing real defense. Did you see this? It was in the post game press conference. Yeah. Everybody in Fort Collins and that wears that Ram Green or whatever, they are ticked off because he literally said, yeah, now we're starting to play real defense. I don't even know what that means. And they obviously just got absolutely slaughtered. They've given up like what is it like two hundred points over the last three games or something? Like what is he talking about? Real defense now, seven months later. Yeah. We finally figured it out, guys. Colorado State has slowly fell to one of the bottom teams in The packs up and it sucks because yeah, you can blame on like, no offense, no quarterback or anything, but this defense is just like historic levels of bad. Hall's saying he's good, but he's not good enough to carry you over a subpar defense, I guess. Yep, and that'll do it for that game. We're gonna move on to the next one. We're gonna talk about Wazoo taking on Oregon State. This was a game that the scoreboard will kinda fool you because For the most part, it was all Oregon State, but they win this one forty eight to thirty and it was another game of the Atkinson and Legree show. And I mean, we saw a little bit of hope for Wazoo. I guess it was ma mainly came in garbage time when the game was over. But Owen Eshelman, his first start, shows life and probably has the most passing yards they had in a game all year. But yeah, I mean they got or said it live in the call. Who's gonna stop the Beaves? What a great call, by the way. Yeah, that that was insane. I just want to talk about real quick, actually. Do we want to talk about the bees first or do we wanna talk about Wazoo? 'Cause I whichever's easier for you. I'll I'll quickly t touch on Wazoo. I thought Owen Eshelman played a great game. Yeah. As well as he could, given the circumstances. Listen, like it's his first game. He's he's a is he a true freshman or a redshirt? So first game starting, redshirt freshman. That's that's a tough situation. You're walking in playing arguably the best group of six team and the best offense in the country. That's really tough and that's a that's a tall task that you have to take care of. I thought he played as well as he could and I think I think while while bowl eligibility now is out the door, you're not going to play a bowl game. I still think Wazoo can finish strong on the back of Owen Eshelman. He he didn't do bad. I mean he threw his first ever passes in a college game this weekend but he still got sacked three times. and he somehow had a hundred and thirty six yards on the ground. I didn't really have eyes glued to this one, just because like I knew what the result was gonna be. Yeah, why is he leading the team in rushing yards and he's the only dude that ran for more than twenty yards? Like I'm sorry, Kirby Moore, but like you have had the most games I've ever seen a team have of like the amount of sub twenty yard rushers. Like I've never seen this happen. Like you're telling me you don't got a single running back that can go get you twenty yards in a game? Like that's sad. They they ran the ball thirty times. That's like that seems like a healthy amount, but they also threw it fifty times. Like why I don't even know if I can fairly compare Eshelman and Pennock with the amount forty nine attempts in the air for Eshelman. Like they would have never done that for Pennock. I They would have never done that. They didn't give him a chance to do that. Yeah, to to maybe like kind of re just retort a little bit and just play devil's advocate, I just think Owen Eshelman can just sling it a little better. And I think they're allowing him to just Make those plays because they trust them to But then like yeah, I don't know. This is a weird looking box score for Wazoo. It but it's regardless, they still spot screw you're like, wow, Oregon State gave up thirty points. It's like, well, you see that like what twenty of those were in garbage time. So it Yeah, I mean at going into half the score was twenty seven to ten. And then at one point the game was thirty four to ten and then they just took their foot off the gas. Like they put in their backups. Yeah. Yeah, you can't be worried about the beaves and it's just like I mean we could talk about Jesse Legree and Brain Atkinson, but we've kinda done that a lot. It's kinda hard not to. But we we we AJ Newberry on the screenplay though. That was electric little hurdle on his way to eighty eight yards. Yeah, because that was the call. That's the AJ Newberry touchdown. That was insane. He's looked really good. I mean, yeah. Hadn't talked about him enough. Yeah, I agree. And and Cornell Hatcher as well played a great game as well. They have a great running back. This is It's going so under the radar. They have so many weapons 'cause even at tight end, Jake Reich. No, he's a running back. Sorry. He Jake Reich Reichel. Sorry. Reichel, yeah. I watched his press conference. That dude is so fun. He he's got he's got the I think it's a mole, or it's either long hair, but he's also got he's got a beautiful handlebar mustache. He is like he's a football guy. Like I I I love him and I love this Oregon State team. Yeah, and I mean we'll just go over the stats real quick. Quick shot before we do go to Oregon State though. Receiving core for Washington State. This is a crazy name. Brandon Ganesha Morthy. Eleven receptions, 150 yards and a touchdown. Bang. But Oregon State, Braden Atkinson, 23 completions, 350 yards. We'll round up for a couple yards. Three touchdowns, no interceptions, and the long of the day was ninety. That's was because Jesse DeGree hit that in the first quarter, 90 yard pass. He had eight catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns. AJ Newberry, we just talked about him. Five catches, one hundred and twenty yards, and one touchdown. His long was the eighty-eight yarder. But yeah, earned it out efficiently and effectively. Putting this game away pretty quickly. That's seems to be the Oregon State recipe. They get out early and they just keep that this is actually one of the few games where they took their foot off the gas, but didn't matter. This is a probably lightning in a bottle offensive game for Wazoo. Yeah, forty eight points, it's like, wow, like what happened to the offense? And it's like nothing really happened. Like like you said, they just took the the the foot off the gas. It's I I there's no flaws. O line O line is probably the best in the pack 12. Braden Atkinson's playing the best. Jesse LeGree is So we were talking about this in the car on the way here. Jesse LeGrie should win the Heisman. If the season ended today, he should probably win the Heisman. Like it it there's no doubt about that. He is the best player in the country. How can you not love this Oregon State team? There there's just no and there's no reason they shouldn't be ranked either. Like I'm I'm so yeah, I'm so tired of the group of six, disrespect. I just hate to see like the A people kind of like just give love to teams like Mizzou and teams like Florida. I mean Florida they'd be Texas, but but but rightfully so but you're right. You're like I just these group of six teams should be should be recognized in the top twenty five and they're not. Well look at it as in you can't look at Jesse Legree or Bray Atkinson and say, no, well they don't deserve the Heisman. They play at Oregon State or they play in the Pac twelve that's you know, got all these former Mountain West schools in it. Have that same mentality when Bray Axon and Jesse Legree are playing in the SEC next year, right? You're not gonna have that from the stance of the voters. So I'd hope they're not playing in the SEC next year, but it's literally just because of what school they play for and what conference they're in. That's the agenda against them. But yeah, Jesse Legree should win the Heisman, especially if he keeps going a hundred yards every game and one to two touchdowns. There's no reason he shouldn't win it. He's on or Brayne Axon, you know? Yeah, it is a quarterback award a lot of the time, but I believe they're say Jesse agrees on pace for fifteen hundred yards and twenty touchdowns. And as a true freshman, I mean that's ridiculous. On the note of Oregon State though being ranked, I think Ryan Leif and Nate, they both just put it together well, talking about two quality losses, yes. And the Houston loss looks even better. the tech one looks good as well 'cause they're still undefeated. and then you look at just the rest of their schedule, that Montana team lost to Northern Arizona on Saturday. And then just th they've played a lot of the bottom of the Pac twelve, right? they still have Fresno, Boise, and Texas State to come. And those are the top three teams outside of Oregon State. So they have played from the bottom up. And I think that's why it hasn't happened yet. Yeah. I think especially in the eyes of by that point it'll be the committee time whenever the Beaves and the Broncos do match up. But if there will be a time that Oregon State will ever be ranked, it is when they go to Boise and if they beat Boise State. I think one of those teams goes to the playoff, college football playoff. I think so. They will be the group of five representative, yeah. I agree. also to note the defense. Sorry, so let's No, you're good. Just took Mike off. Takari Hickel, two and a half sacks. two yeah, I know, right? We we we don't give this defense enough credit as we should. we don't, but like I just want to recognize that. That's a pretty pretty recognizable thing. And Isaiah Hu Hui, is that how you say his name? Yeah, I was looking at that too. Sixteen total tackles. Wow. Yeah, a great game by him as well. So that defense is doing their part as well. The thirty points is not indicative of how well the defense played. Yeah, thirty four to ten at one point. I just think it just tells the story of what how it was. And we got one last game to talk about. It was probably the most surprising game of the day. The most the closest game of the weekend for the conference and just another gritty win for the Aztecs. They take down what was thought to be the second best team in the conference, Fresno State, twenty six to twenty three off a game winning walk off field goal from a career long. From their kicker. I forgot his name. So Cooper D Deliva. Cooper Deleva. Cooper Deleva. He knocked in a career long to seal to seal the win for the Aztecs. And I mean, it was a after dark demon. We talked Kade talked about it on the Twitter. He tweeted it on the account, but the Pac twelve after dark just never ceases to fail. It's such a great product. You're in, you're out, no matter what teams are in it. Dude, you could slap Pac Twelve over like the most insane FCS game and play it at like nine thirty central and it would still be the most nuttiest game we've ever seen. Like that's the power of after dark. this game was nuts. I really was like just not dialed on this whatsoever because This is actually probably the only game I was dialed on beside the Texas. The bar the bar I was at was obviously showing Notre Dame BYU and then this old guy comes over there and is like trying to tell him to change the channel and I swear he was trying to get the Texas game on and it's like eleven o'clock at night. Yeah. And this dude is like so confused, doesn't know what he's doing. It's so like I had to watch it on my phone if I was gonna watch it at all. And I waited till BYU game was over to turn this one on. And I was just like, what the hell was going on with the I thought this was the the best defense in the Pac twelve. I thought Fresno figured out their getting out of this. I thought Fresno figured out their offense, man. Nah, I think it was an off date for them though. Genuinely. and I Is Snapdragon a tough place to play? I think San Diego State is just a lot They're scrappy. They're really scrappy. They're finding ways to win games that they shouldn't win. Like the the team sucks, but like they just find a way to beat you. They got a lot of pieces back though as well. And I I Yeah, they got healthy. And I think Sean Lewis just coached a really good game. They got them that thirteen lead to start the game, and obviously Fresno came back and eventually took a lead. But once again, to get your guys to rally again and then come back and take the lead again and then get the win, it's it's massive. kind of scary to see them get a little bit healthier because they're two and one in conference play, right? I I think if anybody's gonna go undefeated, it's gonna be Boise State or Oregon State. Resno State could win out on conference play and then like the flex week could be really interesting for them. Right? We're talking about a three and four team at the moment that just the way they find ways to win, they could like find their way closer to putting themselves in the Pactville championship. Like if they I don't know this off the top of my head. I'm looking though. Like if they have Boise State at home, like you know what I mean? Like some weird things could happen, especially if that game's at night. We know what that's like. Yeah. let's see. When you give when you get focused they go to Boise. That's it. They to Boise. That was it. I was gonna say massive impact when you have Lucky Sutton and Javion Kennard both back in the same week as well. It really allowed whoever was playing quarterback, whether it was Stone Stone Saunders or Jane Denegall, both played as well as they could. for a San Diego State quarterback, you know, but that run game is exactly they performed exactly how we thought they should have been at the start of the year and it got them a good win over a pretty good Fresno defense who again just cannot stop the run. Just cannot stop the run. And I I I have no answers for it. Like it's just it's an issue. And they also on offense, not not a great performance up and down on offense as well for Fresno. Are we done talking about San Diego State Sorry? Do have anything to say, Solo? not really. San Diego State, I mean, just shot Lucky Sutton in the run game as well. And but I do want to point out that San Diego State had three people to throw a football today. Jay Denegal was slinging it, probably his best game of the season before he got I believe he got hurt. He got hurt. He got hurt and then Stone Saunders. Shout out him. He was able to lead lead the way for the Aztecs. But yeah, we could talk about Fresno. What whatever you're gonna say go on but then shout out Kai Wallen as well in San Diego State, three sacks as well. So he was a big part of that. Just scrappy, man. It's just a scrappy team. But Moving on to Fresno, third down, got to improve on third down. They were four for thirteen on third down. This has been another a big problem for their offense all year, a problem that they haven't really addressed. So same thing as last week where it's like what what loses them these games is their rush defense and they can't run the ball. They can't establish the run. Like Brian Donaldson had a touchdown, Julius Gillick had two, but again, like when you're averaging four point eight, four point seven, four point two yards an attempt, that's not good enough. And and especially when it like your your the total of your highest rusher is sixty two yards. It's just not good enough. Like it and and Jane Denigal sorry, not Jane Gall. Jane Mandal, sorry. Thirteen for twenty. One of these dudes gotta change their first name, bro. I will not get it. I'm not gonna get it. Not me either. It's not that hard. It's not, but I'm not They both stink though, so it makes it harder I just I do want to say Jada Mandel did play this whole game and it had 30 more yards than Jaden did a call. He he had a some really good throws throughout the game. He did play not very well though in that last drive. So we talked about it. He also got sacked six times. Sacked six times, yeah. Not his fault. So again, a great performance I say in the same. I mean, he's a he's just a five yard curl merchant. I I wrote down one throw specifically. it was that 19 yard I think it was a fade, not a fade, but he it was a great ball, like nineteen yards to the end zone and triple coverage to Ezekiel Abbott Ravi and triple Abbott Abbott. Ezekiel Abbott, sorry, in triple coverage. It was a dot. Like he he is a good enough quarterback where he can make those throws. I just I don't know what it is. I I can't figure out this offense at all. And again, this defense is so frustrating because they are so good. This they just the To start in the first half, they just can't figure it out. And Matt Ents talked about that in his press conference as well. He said, I don't have an answer for why we can't perform in the first half. I like I I have no crystal ball. I cannot figure this out. You need to figure it out. You're four and three. Obviously, college football playoff hopes are are out the door. You're praying for a good bowl game. You're praying for a good bowl game. But also too, like for you, you know, the pecking order in this new pack twelve, like to g for a first year have a good first year in this new conference is massive for any one of these teams, right? So like the pressure's on four and three. You got a tough schedule coming up. You I mean you have to play Oregon State. So like I don't know. It's it's we'll see. And that was two teams that were nine and three last year, I believe, right? Did Fresno State also go nine and three last year? They did. And one of the one of the losses was San Diego State. They shut him out. They're play they're playing in Oregon State on Halloween. Yeah, they have a bye week this week. So those are It's really I think we're starting to hit that point like where these people are or these teams are beating each other up in in the middle, right? I I don't think Fresno was a middle team, but th they were on the edge of being pushed down to the middle, I think. But they were also right there where they could have taken that step and beat Boise and like been a w you know, top team in the conference type of thing. But I think we're just naturally gonna see this. I think Fresno is a better team than San Diego State. but I also think The opinion of San Diego State is altered because of like the mumps and the injuries and like the stuff that they've been through as a team. losing to JMU, but they were still really injured then and then also Toledo, right? what they lost three in a row. They were one and three through the first four games of the season, right? Yeah. that it was just kinda weird, tough start for them and then the injuries and then they somehow beat Texas State, right? I mean, we know how, but yeah, I don't know. It seems kinda weird. Honestly, they like absolutely got throttled the week before at Oregon State and then they somehow just figure it out. It's really, really weird. Yeah, it's they're they might be the best three and four team. I think this is what we're in what we're in for in the long run though. Like this is what the pack twelve is. But I love it. Yeah. I honestly I love it. You love it. It just sucks it happen to Fresno. It does. It's it's probably happening to both of your team, sex state and Fresno State. Yeah. It's just gonna happen unfortunately. But I wanna say one last thing. Sean Lewis is the boogeyman. Sean Lewis. I listened to his presser. He brought his kids again, which by the way, like I don't I don't like that if you win or lose, regardless, 'cause you gotta you you gotta face tough questions. We said that we said that this game and the Tex State game was the exact same and he brought his kids to both press conferences. And but based off his presser, just how how he was talking, like how and how he talked about like overcoming like he even briefly mentioned the Tex State game where it's like they had a lot to overcome to win that game, you know, and and it was the same thing in this game where like Fresno was a really good team. They had a lot to overcome to win that team. They had to put in a freshman quarterback, you know, and they had to they kind of rely on him to sling the ball and he he did pretty well, you know, for only eleven attempts and six completions, but like I don't know. I just think he's a really good coach and I I just think he's incredibly resilient. I think when his back's against the wall, he's just one of these coaches who who can just fight his way out of it. Yeah, not for sure. And this is a huge win for Oregon State, I mean I mean not Oregon State, Sandago State, we talked about that. They're not sitting third in the conference. They're the only other t they're the only other team besides Boise and Oregon State to win multiple Pac twelve games. So it's interesting to think about. I mean Watch out because you know, they've got f obviously four more games left on the schedule, not counting the flex week 'cause that doesn't count as a conference game. And two of those four games, which actually the next two weeks they're playing the bottom two teams in the packs, twelve in Colorado State and Washington State. So right there, boom, their season can go just absolutely flip around from three and four to five and four and four and one in conference play. And then they've also got to buy then Utah State a game that I think that they could win, although they are in Logan and then of course Boise. They're not in Logan. yeah, it is a home game. Sorry. Yeah. it is in Snapdragon Stadium. So And then of course Boise. The hardest place to play in the Pac twelve, apparently. Allegedly. I mean, I haven't seen anybody go in there and win yet. The hardest game they have left in the schedule is easily the last game going into Boise. But other than that, like you said, yeah, they got they got Colorado State and Four Cons, whatever. Defense is bad, but your offense also isn't very good. But Lucky Sun should eat that game. Yeah. Well he shouldn't do more than just But yeah. But that will do it. The recap we can now dive into next week, week before Halloween. We got a couple interesting games here, but we start off with kind of when we know what the result might be. Coming off the bye. Boise State taking on Wazoo in Pullman. This is a three o'clock game. USA network, so this will be Nate Gatter and Ryan, I believe. Yeah. So they're the only game on USA. Back to going back to Pullman. But new offense, new quarterback at the helm. But I don't think it's gonna be enough for Boise State coming into town. Ranked I still believe number twenty one. Twenty one. They moved up. Twenty one. But how do you feel about this one? Let's not overthink it. Owen Eshelman, like I said, had a really good game despite everything that Washington State was kind of facing, but Boise State as of right now is the best group of six team. And I I think just obviously by their ranking, one of the best teams in the in the nation. So let's not overthink it, Boise. Yeah. There's no question about it. This is the just Thinking of fun things to mention. This is the lowest temperature we're gonna have at kickoff, fifty two degrees. I believe Nate and Ryan will be rocking those USA Sports Park. I'm happy for you, Ryan. I'm glad you finally get to wear it, man. I know Nate's hyped about too. Maybe this is a another Ryan Leaf effect moment though for for Eshelman here. And you know, Wazoo does a little bit No way they put the magic. I'm just kidding. I was just trying to make it a little less boring. Yeah, I I'm still rocking with Boise, but It would be funny if this defense just somehow forced a turnover and then Wallie like up at like half or something. But I mean any time and any w any given day in college football. Can I say how happy I am too that we have all these games on Saturday again and it's not Thursday, Friday, Saturday. I I like I did like that. That's not a bad thing, but I do like Just you can just crank out every single game on one day. Yeah. Yeah. October's gonna I mean Halloween's gonna be even better. I like the Thursday or Friday game just so I know like I can go focus on that one that day specifically. You know what I mean? But yeah. We got Boise sweep For this one. Then when the next game we talked about it, this is probably gonna be the closest one, although both games are kinda interesting. San Diego State travels to four collins to take on the Rams. We would think Hause Handy would be back for this one. No official word yet, and it'll it'll probably come out the day after this episode gets uploaded like it usually does. But with Monday is a day for news when it comes to this stuff. So yeah, I imagine. but yeah, this game is on the CW three thirty. I mean, given the current circumstances, we are recording on Sunday. Hossane has not been officially ruled back. What are the our thoughts on this matchup? We just talked about we just talked about San Diego State and how like resilient they are, how good they can play when they have everybody back. Even with the speculation at quarterback for next week, I I'm not sure if Jaden Jaden Denegal is gonna play. I'm not sure if it's gonna be San Saunders. And and even with Colorado State, like with Hawse Haney, I'm not sure. But Cassanf Cason Ferrar's played good enough that this is a tough matchup, man. I really Minus two and a half for San Diego State. Okay. So they got the win. And Fort Collins, though, is tough. And Fort Collins is tough. They'll definitely pack it out, even though they've s definitely skied off for a little bit, but they show up. They show up. Yeah. I I don't think there's any question about that, but Two teams, we don't know who's gonna start at quarterback. And I think if we go back to earlier in the season, I'm not gonna be able to remember exactly what game it was. It was either UCLA or JMU. Lucky Sutton had a really good game. And of course, San Diego State still lost because i he's not gonna just win you every game by himself. He can't do that. That's whoever's playing quarterback has got to help. Unless you ask for us. Yeah. but because of that. even though I was just kind of being optimistic about San Diego State, for whatever reason I've just gro grown some liking to Colorado State. So I'm gonna pick Colorado State this week. I'd like to see Haney come back and get a big win. I'm in the same boat as you. I think regardless if Haas Haney's playing or not, I like Ferrar enough that I think this offense is good enough and I again I have no answer for this defense, but one thing I know and one thing that is certain is that San Diego State's offense has not been good enough, you know, th that that it would scare you that they're gonna score sixty six points like Texas State did, right? But I don't know. I think I think Colorado State figures it out this week and I think they get their first pack 12 win. Man, I was hoping that we would have some kind of division, but I'm also in the same boat. I think that San Diego State's gonna be riding high and Colorado State's on their heels. I think another loss you could basically chalk the season if it's already not chalked. And I think It being at home, I think they do figure something out. The thing is that San Diego City, even with Lucky Sutton and Javin Kennard doing their thing, I don't think the passing game is just quite there to be really be able to punish this Colorado State Rams defense at full potential, like we saw Oregon State and Texas State do. I just don't think they have the pieces and I honestly don't know if they have the pieces to even outscore a case on for our led offense. I'm not gonna lie. I think that Mel Brooks bad game was one of one. They get RJ Vick back, maybe. They get RJ Vick back too, maybe. And even if they do announce Hoss Haney, I think that's just the dagger. I think that Colorado State run defense is really rough. It's bad. Lucky press just absolutely eats it up like turkey on Thanksgiving. But I also think that like your point exactly, I don't know if San Diego State could keep up with that offense though. Cause I mean it one stop for the Rams and that's pretty much all Haas Haney's gonna need if he plays fingers crossed because I do miss watching some Hall Saney football. Although I'm not gonna lie, the pick I can knowing especially seeing how Quezon Ferrar play against Texas State's defense, a part of me does kinda like play devil advocate in thinking that San Diego State does have a better defense than Texas State on paper. And I think they could disrupt Quezon Ferrar and he could have a rough game. Quiz for y'all. What's up? How many FBS teams are there in college football? Isn't it one hundred and forty two now? They I think they I was gonna say thirty eight, but I thought they bumped it up to like forties. Do you know who the very last ranked defense is? The hundred and thirty eighth ranked defense in the country is it Colorado State? It's Colorado, yeah. Ouch. So with that being said, I'm changing my pick to San Diego State. Dang, so we got a live flip on Fairs. That's fairs though, but I'm still picking Colorado State just 'cause I think home field advantage really does play a factor into it. I think there's gonna be thirty eight to forty one thousand people in Fort Collins this Saturday. It's just tough, man. I really the last ranked defense. You can't get me fired up for that, man. I'm sorry. And we'll we've seen how it's just unmotivated though. If there's thirty eight thousand people screaming in Jaden Denegal's helmet, he's gonna fold. He's gonna fold. Brother Sparty Lachlan could hit the holes that that defense was letting up on Thursday night. It's just really dependent on if Haas Haney plays because I don't think it mattered. I think Quezon Ferrar's really all that gre I didn't think his game on Thursday against Texas State was that great. How dare you? I I I didn't see what you were seeing. I thought he was playing incredibly well. He I didn't think incredibly well. I thought he looked better against U T I think better too. Yeah, that's that's I just don't think the point total gives you like much to be excited about, but like given like Texas State's defense was relentless against their O line and the fact that he had to scramble out a bunch. He was completing a lot of like really hard passes. And again, like I think we're talking about a different game. If Jim Mora maybe that offensive scheme in the first quarter was just a little different, maybe they let him air it out a little bit, but they were just playing it safe in that first quarter. So I think I think Ferrar's a lot better than than maybe you think. But like I I agree. Maybe that's I think he's good. I do think he's good. I think the gap between him and Haney is gonna be pretty large. I think it's funny how you're s African frick Ferrar so much and you're picking San Diego State. But I'm not gonna lie You're right, you're right, but but I'm sticking with that. San Diego State. I'm not gonna lie, I think I This is such a hard game pick. I think I'll for the first time ever, I think I'm taking Brett over Caden. I think I'll take the Aztecs here. So yeah. We do have a little bit of division this week. First time in a while, but this is a really close game. And for note, I don't know how many games Brett's behind on the picks. It's like w it's like two max. It's like two max. Yeah, we're all just saying I don't think that's close. I was just saying I don't know. It's not that big of a gap, but me and Sol are tied at thirty one and eleven. And Brett is twenty nine and thirteen, I think. So it's it's it for real is anybody's This is a big week, especially now that we're going to Aztecs, but that'll do it there in our final game for the slate on Saturday. No after dark games. The latest we get is I guess we want after dark. Wait, wait, wait. I just remembered these are all Pacific listed on the website. So Central Tide, Boise and Washington to State is at five, San Diego Sacaro State's at five thirty, and Texas and Utah State Texas State, Utah State is at six thirty PM. So that game will probably be a night game. It's not after dark though. Utah State Aggies and Texas State Bobcats. This is an interesting matchup. We kind of joked about it that this is a game that could be a little bit of surprising, but I mean, this is probably I don't know. Have we have these two teams ever played each other before? Let me look that up real quick. Let me look I think. Let me look it up. It was within the last tw decades, I believe. Didn't Dan say something about that? Like like maybe we I think maybe when Texas State Just transitioned to division one something like that. This is also gonna be the hottest game of the slate. Eighty three degrees at kickoff at six thirty in Texas, right before the sun goes down. Is the cool front already over? I was just enjoying it. It lasted two days, bro. I woke up the last two days it was forty five degrees outside. I know. It was forty six. So the last score that I have was twenty twelve, Utah State be Texas State thirty eight we were talked about it last time. It was thirty eight to seven. Alrighty. Well, this is the first time these two teams see each other in a little bit over. decade, almost two decades. Fourteen years. Be on the lookout for those Southwest Texas State jerseys. It's homecoming and San Marcus. It'll be those are some of my favorite throwback throwbacks. I really like that color scheme. Wearing the hat right now. Yeah. I like that color scheme compared to the new maroon and gold. I just like the vintage color look, you know, really eighties ish, nineties feels. A part of me would just love to see like a complete rebrand. I know I the thing with throwbacks is the conversation is they're only cool 'cause you wear once like a year, but I just love those colors way more than the maroon and gold. I think if you get the super cat and like the the old red and gold, I think that that'd be perfect. Maybe you could find a mix of the old red and the maroon. 'Cause like it's just like like it's so hard to like make maroon your school when you got like a big school like Anet with Maroon. Even though I don't like the Maroon. Yeah. The Maroon sucks. But yeah, Texas State, Utah State. It's a good should be a good game. I think it's gonna be a good matchup, obviously. an offense on the rise with Utah State. And I'm not even joking about that. Brady Gross Grady Broshouse has played a lot better. It seems like they're starting to kind of establish run. Eli Wood, obviously a very good receiver. Brad Jackson, best quarterback in the Pac twelve, is that is that fair to say right now? I don't think so. But he has the wait, he has the going Maddox Madsen in that sense. That's true. I just that's a brain fight. Is that what you're saying? I at the moment I think Maddox Madson's playing better than. Jackson. Yeah. Okay. And then there's also Braden Atkinson. Yeah, I think that as well. Brain Farp by me. forget I said that at all. I just think that Brad Jackson has he's played great this season, but there have been a couple games where I'm like it it's been bumpy, whereas like Max Madison and Brayden Atkinson has virtually been perfect all year. Madden Maxon hasn't thrown an interception yet. We're in week seven. And then even in the and then even in the losses that Atkinson had, he still looked fairly impressive. Texas State, Utah State. I'm strictly reading stats off of the Pac twelve website. Texas State is second in the league at offensive efficiency and Utah State is first in defensive efficiency. I I think it's like, you know, when Yin meek Tiang. Yeah. But they they can't be one. One has to crack. Yeah. One has to crack. One has to crack, but then you gotta also think about Utah State's offense. They do have weapons like Javen Jacobs and I forgot who the receiver was, Eli Wood? Yeah. Yeah, I would, yeah. So those are definitely in both parts, but I I want I wanna see how they're able to do it's gonna be an interesting game for sure, I believe. I'm curious to see some U Tans come to San Marcus. I wonder if they do travel well, 'cause I'm not gonna lie, I was really disappointed with how Colorado State fans did not travel. I mean I didn't really get to see that many of but I did see some. I saw some I thought there'd be a lot There were a lot in like In the that section in front of like the press box. I saw quite a bit there. Underneath the press box? Yeah. Maybe I just actual stadium seats are. But it is what it is. It maybe you could talk as a Thursday game and people got work and stuff. But I don't know. But And also James Tal Rico was in town as well. All right. Well I'm talking about Colorado safe. okay. No, no. I thought we were talking about just like the attendance. No, I mean the the students actually showed out for tech. It was probably the Yeah, dude, four thousand students and I know. Four thousand students out of forty thousand. I know. That's bad. It's gotta get better. But every game this year, if you you try to see which sections have the most bodies in them or butts in the seats, it's the student section every time. Most consistent games. I don't want to see any boomers going out there and hating on the attendants. This hooky could be a sneakily good game. I'm excited for it. It should be a packed house, hopefully. Homecoming weekend, let's see what they're gonna do. And the throwback uniforms. Man, I can't wait. For anything watching for that reason alone. I'll be in the press watch that game too. I'm a man, it should be nice. You'll be in there too? Yeah. I'll be in there as well. Let's go. All three of We just did a fist bump, but you can't see that. It's magical. Alrighty. Well, that'll do it for that. we covered the recaps and the picks already. So one last thing on the agenda. Brett, who is your packed player of the week? Thank you. W Burve. Perfect timing on that. Thank you. Kind of gave me enough time to pull up the from Texas State. a couple choices we could have gone here. I think Torrance Burgess had an incredible performance, a career game, obviously one of the best rushing performances we've ever seen. but I think Brad Jackson Torrance Burgess has already won the player of the week. So my deciding factor was Brad Jackson hasn't won it yet. So we're gonna give it to Brad Jackson, who also had a great night running the ball, thirteen carries, 181 yards, three touchdowns, and in the air, 14 for 19, 213 yards, one touchdown. Fourteen and nineteen is really good. A beautiful stat line, incredibly efficient. I couldn't ask for more for Brad Jackson this week. Brad Jackson, congratulations, player of the week. Three hundred and ninety-four total yards of offense and I believe four touchdowns. Big bad Brad. One man army big bad Brad. Well I think that'll do it for us today on this episode. Thank you so much. For listening, and we will be back next week to cover the next week of games. Should be a great one. I'm looking forward to that big one in Fort Clans. Thank you so much.
