- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Hit on over to milehighhuddle.com to sound off on all things Broncos.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_02]: All right, welcome, and welcome, and I am Nick Campbell, turn by Carl Dunlard, and it's Tuesday evening time for an episode of Building the Broncos Carl.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_02]: How you doing?
- 0:29[SPEAKER_02]: What's good?
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: What's new?
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: How are things out there in Kansas land?
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, we're back to regular Kansas weather.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: 60 mile per hour winds.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: We had calls go out of, hey, we need people to help.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: We got Simized flipped over on the highway.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's, like I said, it's Kansas forgot dirt storms going on.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: I can't even talk today.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, so we're going to walk dirt storm.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, she's like, can we walk the dog?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: I said, we're not going out in this.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay, dad.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's been a little bit of a crazy day, but we're here.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's what counts.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you and I actually share a lot of weather now probably because we had red flag morning today out here in Denver land and walking to and from my medical campus building that I work at boy it was not I was brought like a salad and some like shredded chicken and like a reusable grocery bag.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: And that thing was like a wind sock.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: I was like whipping people, walking to and from my car today.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, pretty crazy, pretty crazy with not, well, what is crazy?
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, there's something, hi, Summit.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_02]: He brought his love.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's good.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: Saying hello to Diana Hendry.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_02]: Saying hello all traveling day on a plane before take off.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: Just wanted to say hi to everyone.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_02]: Well, appreciate you, Diana.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: Keep in the lights on in here.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: Keep in Summit.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_02]: Somewhat groomed and Dave.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: And hope you're doing well.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_02]: Enjoy your flight.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: I luckily, so everything normally calls a little bit harder with a kid, you know, just complicates things and like navigate in the airport with a kid is harder, but the flight itself, I've enjoyed more because my wife is extremely claustrophobic and wants to sit next to me so she needs the aisle and a lot of times I mean, I'm sitting in the middle seat, um,
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: Well, guess who is in the middle of seat now?
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: Sucker, a little two-year-old kid.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, that means I can be up against the window, get all the mountain views too.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: So I know it was going to be worth it.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_02]: No, of course, it was worth it.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: But hopefully you got a window or aisle seat or first class or whatever.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: I've never lived that luxurious of a life to have a first class seat.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just happy to be in the air.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a Midwesterner.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: If it's less than 16 hours driving, it's a drivable truck.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so for me, it's at least four hours to a major airport.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I've either got witch tar, Denver, they're both about four hours from me.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: So you're right, by the time I figure out how long it takes me to get there, time to get through the airport, everything else I have to figure out.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: Is this really worth it or would it just be better for me just to drive it?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: And there's plenty of times I've said, we're just going to drive it.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: You should have drove to Vegas when we met, I guess, in hindsight, did you fly from Denver, when you met us out to do a Mount Whitney?
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: You flew, I mean, yeah, I'm trying to remember, I think it was Denver.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Denver to Vegas, I've done the drive to Vegas.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a fun drive that there's a lot of nothing.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yes, we're driving through the mountains, but like there'll be hundreds of miles of no towns.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: And when you're driving in a car, it's kind of like, please don't break down.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: You don't fall apart.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: When we're going through Death Valley, I'm like, please air conditioning, do not break right in this moment when it's 125 degrees on us.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: I remember somebody died driving through death Valley the week before we were there.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: It was somebody on motorcycle and just they died from the exposure because it was so hot.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: Crazy crazy.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: Keith coming in could evening Broncos country.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: That and that would be a big heck no for me on AJ Brown trade.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: Why would to give it probably a loss makes no sense.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: We'll get into that here.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: David Young can hope you're doing well.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: I hope your healthy says, you know, every single off of season.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_02]: Every team is linked to every free agent are going to make a blockbuster move.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's the content game we're talking about it now and thank you Bill Barnwell for that Bill Barnwell does a good job over at ESPN, but you know 90% of the things that you hear half of that 90 is a BS and even probably more than that is like there's some legs to it, but doesn't materialize future percent of the time it works every time Carl so that's a yeah we'll we'll see, but it is fun to talk about this time of year.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's still, there's going to be those times.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: A player gets signed, they're like, oh, wow, that's great.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think in 2014, Broncos brought in to Marcus Ware, manual Sanders, TJ Ward, a keep to leave.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that was a crazy, free agency period for us.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: So everyone's so well, you go out there and have something crazy happened for you.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: And when I hear both George Payton, Sean Payton and, and I think even the,
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: that they said we're gonna be aggressive.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I believe them, if they say they're going to be aggressive, that means hey, we're willing to throw some real cash at this if we want to.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: And so I do think the brokers are gonna make a couple decent moves, whether that's a trade like we're gonna talk about today, or if that is maybe trying to pick up somebody on free agency, you know, I mean free agency, it's always,
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: The first way of a free agents, unfortunately, you're usually overpaying.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: So many times, honestly, I hope that our team stays out of it because I don't want to be overpaying for these players and then a year down the road going crap.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: Why are we having to pay this guy this kind of money?
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: But at the same time, when you're this close to the Super Bowl sometimes, it's worth bringing in that guy just because it gives you that enough of an upgrade to get you over the top.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, Embelle EX test prep coming in here says he's here to party.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see a Todd Austin Dorf in the house too.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see US Dave said, didn't know ESPN was still in the air.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_02]: They definitely are, but YouTube might be closing them out of a lot of the lucrative NFL contract.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_02]: So worth paying attention to there.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_02]: We got Paul coming in saying, good to see, we'll be making Carl will not be traded.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully not, but I think my value is at an all-time low.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: factoring in on the contract.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think Denver can get him for less if they choose to pursue him, talking about AJ Brown's contract.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we'll get into that here.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: I do want to say a little more and more people, Roy Osborne.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: Roy, hope you're doing well.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_02]: We'd like to come in here, but people got their melodies and stuff going on.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: Roy had a car incident, but hopefully you're doing better.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's not talk about AJ Brown and we're going to talk about it.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: He will not build the Broncos, but bring it down.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: We have other people we can talk about too.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: Bernie Mays, good to see you.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: I hope you're doing well.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: Go Broncos Country only.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: And talk about the other people who will bring Broncos Country down.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: How about picking up Tyre Kille?
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: Carl, I just, he's so talented.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_02]: I can't do it.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: I can't do it.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like there's like, like AJ Brown, George Pickins, they may be eight holes on the field, but they're not like.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: convicted felonies in their background where it's like, I don't know, you have to have some moral line, I think.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, I don't, I don't want him anywhere near this team.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, like, and that's easy for me to say, because I'm not making the decisions for this team.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: My job's not on the line with waiting football games.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: He's just, he's shown himself, not just one incident.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's shown himself to be a POS.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_02]: many times.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I don't want it.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: And maybe that's me taking the high ground.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I, I couldn't.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_02]: If they sign up, I'd be conflicted because obviously I want to win and I'd some, there'd be some element of me like, well, maybe he'll stay out of trouble, and maybe this is the final piece, but like, I just rather than not bring him in.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, if you guys disagree, I just, I cannot
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, if he helps you win a Super Bowl, there would be a part of me that would have to say at what cost, because like I said, it just to have to cheer for something like that where we've got so many different accusations.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, if it was one, and that one is still like maybe a red line you don't cross.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like right, I'm through.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: But when you've seen this pattern, it's like, okay, this is who this guy is.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: This is, this is, and then it hasn't changed.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter how much legal trouble he gets into.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, no, I'm gonna keep doing this.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: And it's kind of like Rushy Rice with the Chiefs.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: I would never want that guy on the Broncos.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: There's talent for sure.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: Just like Tyree Kilt, he'd bring a lot of talent.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how he is with this injury.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: I know as looks, listening to one of the Twitter doctors, guy that talks about all these different injuries and stuff and he said,
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't even know if you'll get side by team until later, maybe December or something like that.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: And but you're right.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that I could be excited about that signing.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: There's talent, but I don't think it's worth it to bring him into this locker room.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want him around the other players.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I'm better off than him go somewhere else.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: If he helps somebody else want to super bowl, I'm like, you know what?
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: I can live with it.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: I can live with the fact that our team didn't sign him.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_02]: And you mentioned, it's just a, it's the, the history, multiple incidences.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_02]: There's people, you know, tired, you kill obviously you mentioned stuff on digs.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Denver was willing to sign him last season.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_02]: He has had some issues and they also have had people on the Broncos, who are not saints by any means, but.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: And again, I saw the reiterated.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's easy for me to say where I'm sitting.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like I'm not getting fired for not winning next season where some people on the Broncos, we saw coaches get fired this year for less.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if the juice is worth the squeeze at this point, at his age, coming off that injury with all the baggage he has.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_02]: But if they do, obviously you got the green light from the very top in the Walton Piner group and it's a move to go in.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: I just, that's somebody who I, in my life, I, I hope I never have to cheer for a Tyrekill.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: That is just, that would be, that would be good for me.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, you guys may be in the chat.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_02]: You feel differently.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: Nick, oh, you're so pious.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that's the right.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: We're good off your high box.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_02]: I just, there's so many incidents as a him just being a bad person.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't want that in here.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: He talked about that.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think people are trying to conflate him or stuff on digs with like AJ Brown on the field antics, George Pickins on the field antics, different for me.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_02]: Ronald Samples coming in, good to see Ace as Go Broncos, Denver Broncos for life.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: We got Sam coming in, Broncos are die.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: What's going on?
- 11:19[SPEAKER_02]: Sean, good to see you.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate you coming in here saying hello.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: They'd also want to say hello to, I say Chris.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he says Hill is a locker room cancer.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how he is as a teammate.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like locker room cancer to me means he comes in and poisons the players around him.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously he had a lot of success with the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: But he in, he in, it of himself is cancer risk.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: So I just, I don't know, I think it taints everything.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I think there's a lot of risk to like, what if he comes in and it's, he's horrible, right?
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's like washed completely.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: And then he sold your soul for what?
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, other avenues, I'd rather,
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'd rather circle the guys here than I think bring him in.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: I would say I haven't actually heard teammates say that he was a bad teammate.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: I've never heard that part before and we do have to remember he did help the chiefs when a Super Bowl.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: So he's been on a winning Super Bowl team.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: But again, it's just that worth it to me.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: And thankfully,
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: most of the people in the chat, it's looking like they're pretty much an agreement that do not go for this guy.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: So I appreciate that's the way the chat's going.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: And if you want him, I mean, I get it because again, there is real talent when he's healthy.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I do get his 32 coming off of very serious knee injury.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: So we don't know exactly what he is.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: But sometimes it's the risk you have to take.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: I've go get a very talented player that you can get at a cheaper price.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Drake Greenlaw, that's kind of how we got him.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: They came at probably a cheaper price than if they were healthy before for agency happened.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: Then they'd be getting top two top three money for their position.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: So we were able to make that work.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: But no, Tyree Kill.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he's a locker room cancer.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: To me, that I always think of Mike McCoy.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: I had a Raiders fan message me this week.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: And they're like, oh, we got Mike McCoy.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be so great.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so glad he's here.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going, when he was in Denver last, he was trying to circumvent bandstrosive, because he was working under bandstrosive.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: And he was going to John L. Way and the GM and trying to tell them, like, hey, he doesn't know what he's doing.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: You should be letting me rule this team and that's a locker room cancer.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's a guy that's like whispering to other people, like, you know, to your face, he's gonna tell you, hey, you're doing great.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: And then behind the scenes is going, ah, you kind of suck.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's...
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: I still want him.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want him.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: Gricksmith, I want him.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_02]: It says good evening, Broncos Country, Denver, Broncos for life.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: We all got lowest coming in, saying go Broncos.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing a little over there on Facebook.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: If you guys are joining us on Facebook today, please click the thumbs up.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: We got our guy Phil McLaughlin coming in here.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: Always great to see if Phil stars as well, or Scott is squeezing something I can't tell.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: But good to see if Phil always appreciate you.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: Glenn Ashley, down under, says good morning, Nick and Carl, knowing how do we sign hill.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: I just, again, I do think I'm a forgiving person to some extent, but if you do it over and over again, I just, I'm sorry, man.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: There's only so many rotations around the sun that we have and I don't want to waste them on people like that.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: So, smart.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_02]: Normal people learn from their mistakes.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: Smart people learn from others mistakes.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: I would just, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: But it also sounds like there could be some really talented Cap casualty running backs that influence the market as well.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: So I think Denver probably will draft one day three and sign some one and I expect them like proportion.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_02]: How do I put it?
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: Compared to what the positions make in the league market, I expect Denver to have their biggest signing be a running back this season.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: So like that you might have like a wide receiver, defensive linemen, linebacker, maybe that makes more, but I think they'll pay a linebacker or running back coming out of this top eight money in the NFL and it could be short term, and running back positions weird, but I'm gonna pay somebody, and I think they're gonna go after cream of the crop.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_02]: And you can kind of get away with that
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: pennies on the dollar.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I've heard that the Broncos are very interested in Breeze Hall if he's able to hit the market.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: There was rumors that he's going to get franchise tagged by the jets.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: I've heard a transition tag as well.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how that's all going to play out for him.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that he can hit the market because he would do incredible in this system.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: And and like I said, but even there
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: I would still have a price point where I'd say, hey, this is what we're willing to pay, which would be top eight money for the position.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: But if he's one in top three kind of money, I'm saying, okay, I'm going to the next guy on my list.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I'd have kind of a price point for him because I think there is enough running back on the market this year that you feel very comfortable with if they came in could do some good things for your offense.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not to the level of a free sale, but a free stall, sorry.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: But you can still feel good of Tyler Algier later on, getting him for what a third of the price of maybe what you have to pay, pretty tall, and you can feel really good about what he's gonna be able to bring to the table.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: And if all else fails, if it's brick class in case of emergency, JK Doffins, you can bring him back for a one-year really cheap deal.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: I know most people are gonna like don't do that, but when he was healthy,
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, he was a very, very talented running back force.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: He was a top five running back in football this last year until he went down with injury.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then, of course, if you're doing that, then it may be changes how you go about the draft.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you are taking a running back around or two earlier than you would have otherwise.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: If that's what you're doing because you need a better backup system than what you had last year.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: But like I said, that's an in case of emergency brake class because I think there's about five or six guys at the top.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: And then you said that there might be a couple cap casualty guys that are going to hit them out the market.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: I know there's talk of Camaro maybe hit in the market.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_02]: I remember who else I saw Connor is another one from Arizona big back actually a really ungraded receiver as well.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: He did some good stuff for them two years ago last year obviously the wheels fell off the bus and I think the name that you're probably not most interested I want to speak for you Carl but somebody that the Broncos have shown interested.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: Josh Jacobs is also apparently somebody who could be hitting the market from green bay.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: So, and then you also have David Montgomery who might be a cap casualty or available for six round pick.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe a fifth, and you get back a seventh, the I don't think Denver has a sixth this year, but they have like three, seventh rounders.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe two, sevenths for David Montgomery.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: They gave up a heck of a lot to go trade up for Isaac Tiesla last year.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_02]: So the lions did.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: So there's gonna be ample avenues.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: My real question for you here, Carlon.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think Eric, maybe respond on me on Twitter.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_02]: I've been so busy with work.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't been able to check things as much, but
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: How feasible it is is it for the Broncos to let's say they sign a top three running back veteran how feasible would it be to sign somebody else to come in here because they know a lot of people like all they've really got to fix the running back and they should sign two veterans you already have RJ Harvey in here, which the team likes obviously and if you go out and sign let's just say for this sake of argument here Kenneth Walker to a big deal.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: who's going to want to come here and be fighting for the scraps, you know, like that's yeah, that's always a viable pathway.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think for the draft, because they don't have a choice in the matter, but for Yadens, you wise, I guess it really comes down to Dobbins and what he would like to do in that situation, but if I were him, give me a situation like the Broncosist last season where there's an opportunity versus where he would be like very obviously third in the pecking order.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: I guess it depends on the running back to the side if it is like if it is Kenneth Walker he has a little bit of an injury history he is it's kind of a weird injury history is now like he has major injuries he just got nagging injuries and and that's I don't know that's good good or bad I guess because he doesn't miss a ton of games.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: but he just has a lot of time where he's not in there.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: And so then maybe you could have it Dobbins, you could talk to him and say, hey, we know that this guy's gonna need somebody to come in.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna need time to recover from different things.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna get your opportunities.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: And so maybe that's kind of a direction you go, but I'm not a big Kenneth Walker fan.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be honest, like I like him as a running back.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't like him for our system.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: Who's going to be your past blocking running back?
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think, what?
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think Harvey probably can be probably I have to hope for it to be Harvey.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_02]: And that one, I don't know if it's been shows with you in me, Carl, but like, if I could get into Harvey's ear, maybe I can tweet his dad who angry tweeted at me once, but I was like, don't fumble the bleep and ball.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: What do you know about that?
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like,
- 21:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm not playing in the NFL, but I know you shouldn't f-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-fl-
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: Probably, but my main thing there would be then still, it keys the defense to know if Walker's in or probably 75% of the time running it.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: If Harvey's in, probably 75% of the time we're passing it.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: I would be really curious in the splits on this crawl.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: So I've just again, the data on this.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_02]: Even if Walker is an issue as a,
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like you're not going to play him on third down.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_02]: I get that.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: And you're not going to want him to pass protect very often.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: But he still has an impact on the past game, because I think he's an okay receiver, not a Harvey level, but he's okay.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: And also, play action.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like they're gonna key it on him.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: And if you give the run motion, you hold the linebackers on the heels for a second or bite.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: There's value to that.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: So like I'm with you, I'm very big on the past protection rules and there's somebody asked to be somebody that's a third downback.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you can bring back some Ajapy right in for cheap.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_02]: But for Walker, I think he is dynamic enough as a runner.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: that I can live with it, but there is risk.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: So sorry to interrupt and push back.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: I just think that the play action aspect, that's what the C-Ox did this season to mitigate.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we can't pass protect.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's have them run at the line of scrimmage and play action.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I think they've had rain more play action than anybody else's season.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that definitely has some value to it, for sure.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: I just find other running backs that I'm drawn towards that I think could be better fits in this system.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, I think Breeze Hall is the,
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: The gym of this for agency class, if he makes it there, I think he would be a great fit because he can pass block.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: He can run like his hairs on fire up the middle.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: He can, he's a decent receiver.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a lot of things you could do with him on offense.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then you have RJ hard because you send over and over again and all of a sudden, boom, here comes RJ Harvey.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I just think that one, two punch would be something fun to watch.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you've got a little bit of a crossover between him and RJ Harvey because there's some things that match up.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: But at the same time, having two dynamic running backs that a team has to be ready for that any time they get the ball in their hands, it could turn into a big play.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think that would be a lot of fun.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: And Tyler Alger, I think again, he's another player that if these other guys that they price themselves out of for, they just say, I want to go somewhere else or their team signs of back, whatever.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: he's a really good fallback plan.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's not going to bring all that they bring, but you could bring 90% of what they bring for, like I said, a third of the price.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't even, I wouldn't even call him a fallback plan.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's immensely talented.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_02]: And if he brought him in how he pairs like,
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: There's a difference between like the macro perspective like this team needs offense to weapons.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_02]: They need to run in back that they can build around a bit and they need a path catching weapon they can build around but like from a micro perspective like very role specific.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: They need an early down innings eater type.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_02]: Uh that can deliver body blows.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, and that that adds up over time.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I know the off, um, Rodney, good question here about Nicole Bd and signing Dobbins.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_02]: Both possible looking to the linebackers somewhere at some point.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not as big on.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking for my mouse.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'd love my mouse.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I'm not as big on the Kobe Dean.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_02]: Little smaller injury history playing behind probably one of the better gap eating, um,
- 25:09[SPEAKER_02]: defensive lines in football and also playing next to the best slot in football as well who helps a lot with the stuff there in Cooper, Dijin, but all pro.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_02]: I know everybody's love Nick and man warrior right now, but Cooper Dijin's better.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, we'll see about those guys.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: We got Dominique.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, Broncos, how are everyone doing?
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: We're doing better now that you're here, Dominique.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing well.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_02]: I see Chase, Breeze Hall, terrible at past,
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: He's not very good either.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: John to Williams is very good there.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: You know, who's absolutely horrific at past protection, Rico doubted one.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: I know there's he's out there as well.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's one that it's like he's not dynamic enough as a runner for me to be that interested.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, does have me interested is this trade from Bill Barnwell.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: ESPN, shout at the him for the content machine.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: And this is one that
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see, we'll hear more from the combine, which I think is already next week.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_02]: Carl, time flies, we'll get a lot of information, you know, again, 50% of the time, it's BS every time coming out of there.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_02]: I guess you got to know who you're listening to and who's kind of, you know, push in the agents, smoke versus the team smoke.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: But...
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: They're all line.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_02]: There's some smoke, and I'll be curious to follow if there's any whispers about who the Broncos are targeting in a wide receiver.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: I know they try.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of rumors they tried hard after Jalen Waddle last trade deadline, and also there's some talk that AJ Brown was at least discussed in Bill Barnwell who does have the Broncos landing AJ Brown in a rare player for player trade.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: You don't see it all that often cross.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_02]: So I think.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: Probably not happening here, but what is the trade for the people in the chat and the people who probably shouldn't be typing away on the computer or shaking the camera.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so the trade goes this way that the Broncos would get a trade brown and a fifth round pick in 2026.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: And the Eagles would get Riley Moss, a 2026 second round pick and a 2027 fifth round pick back in the trade.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: I, I don't know why you have to throw Riley Moss into that trade.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's, I think it's different from that.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's it's like that.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: I just feel like if you are throwing Riley Moss because he has value.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like Martin was almost treating him like a cast off like, okay, well, they need this and because I don't think AJ Brown's value is a first round pick.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: with his contract, he's 29, getting ready to go on 30.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's getting up there in age.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's not coming off his best season by any means.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously the issues within the locker room and on the sidelines, it's all well documented.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't think his values were equals fans with wanted to be.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like this kind of trade would be more of an equals would be like, yes, yes, let's do this right now.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: where for us as Brock, as I feel like we should be sitting there saying, okay, wait a minute, Bradley Moss is a very cheap option right now for a boundary corner.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's really good for a number two corner back.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, he had some penalty issues.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like he did much better over the last about five weeks of the season, where you could see some things that he was working on trying not to grab quite as much.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: I thinkfully in the playoffs, sometimes they let him get away with a little bit more than what they did during the regular season.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't want to trade him away for pennies on the dollar at this point.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: I know you've got another first round rookie corner back that you just drafted that you want to see get on the field some way somehow.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not sure that by trading away Riley Moss is the best way to do that.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: So if I was doing this trade, and let's say they wanted Riley Moss to be a part of it.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: I would say, okay, it's Riley Moss.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: I would not give up the extra fifth round pick the next year.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'd just say rather than most in the third, or AJ Brown and the fifth, that's where I would be at.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's possible.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not against it by any means.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_02]: I think the second round this year given the class has made it a little bit depreciated.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_02]: You're also talking about what is it going to be for Denver pick 60?
- 29:28[SPEAKER_02]: Is that what it is?
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: So like second round is the second round, but they're also not all the same.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: Might pick the first five of the second round are always pretty valuable compared to the back end of the second round.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you saw it last season where RJ Harvey went compared to the really good rookie run that was the top of the second round last year was awesome.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: So, I don't know.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think that what this all comes down to for me, obviously it's what they think of
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: AJ Brown, and if they want to bring him in, I'm not sure how that I aimax would work with him in Sutton, because Sutton, probably not slot at this point, probably pure x.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: Brown is better at x2 at 11 personnel, whose plan Z is Brown and slot, and they win differently.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like Sutton's better over those like deep digs and over is where AJ Brown pretty good with slants, and I think he's being underutilized in affiliate, because Jalen hurts is
- 30:20[SPEAKER_02]: anemic to throw in over the middle of the field, or is that the wrong word, uh, allergic, uh, throwing over the middle of the field.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so we'll see, but I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm just a nagia Brown.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: I guess it's a supremely talented player.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_02]: He lines up with the Broncos, uh, window, they're in right now and also as far as the ball going to him, it will.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: Often, and early, uh, bonus, I think led the league in passing this year and combined over the last two seasons.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_02]: And a part of that is he's been one of the few quarterbacks who's not missed any time.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, so that doesn't matter as well, uh, but we'll see, um, with that as far as trading Moscow's.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: it depends on what the internal beliefs are on re-signing, Riley Moss, as well as what you think of Jaday Baron.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: If you are sky high on Jaday Baron and you have the ability to move a expiring contract, then I think it's something to consider, all the same.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_02]: Can you hear the kid crying in the background?
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry if it's picking it up.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_02]: You can't, okay, well that's good.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_02]: But it depends on what you think of Baron and how motivated you are to
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: I do think he is a nice trade piece for sure.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: And like I said, if you believe in Baron, then you're more willing to move on from him and feel good about it.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe then it gives you a little bit more ability to re-sign Dick Millen if you want to be able to do that.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: And and keep that corner back room, one, two, three, strong.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, then you still have KD back there as well as a nice backup option that can has inside outside ability.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I do appreciate
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: Because every single year, it seems like you've got a corner back going down.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: I would just worry quite a bit about what happens when one of those guys goes down.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: Right now, thankfully our corner back room actually is pretty deep, where even when certain what down with injury, our defense still played pretty darn well, because you had some quality backups that you could trust to be on the field and not lose it.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_02]: And it starts up front.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I just got to push the narrative.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: It does.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: It does.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: That definitely helps.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_01]: But to be able to lose defensive player the year, and not have your defensive defense completely fall apart is a huge, huge bonus.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: So I appreciate that when you're in a super bowl window, trading away talented players, I'd rather trade draft picks than I would
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: talented players.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: Because I feel like in some ways you're hurting the corner back room while helping the widresaver room.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not a wash because AJ Brown is a top 10 widresaver in football, where Riley Moss is not a top 10 corner back in football, but it still negates a little bit of the advantage that you get by bringing in AJ Brown.
- 33:15[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, would you keep Moss and flip that second up to a first round pick, like let's say it takes, would you rather moss in a second or pick 30 overall and your third round pick?
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: Probably Moss in the third, honestly, Moss in the second, just because, yeah, Moss in the second, I probably would rather do that, honestly, because having that fifth your option does help out.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think it's less of an advantage than people realized, because you still pay on that fifth year option.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's still a pretty decent contract, especially because I think it was basically based on probals, which is, yeah, stupid because everybody's a probal or now.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think I got it invited, so there's no way that should make contract escalation based on probals.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's just endorsing, and there's, yeah, when the work quarterback in football makes it to the probal.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: What they need to do is like, I think we did this before Carl, but we did like, all division teams, you know, how like conferences they have like, okay, you're not good enough to be all American, but you're all a conference.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what it's smaller, but like let's see, the all AFC West team.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_02]: And if you get, you get a 5% increase versus like the 25, 20% increase that you see with the pro bowl, because the pro bowl is stupid.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: Just it is a stupid.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: The, the, the acolyte is dumb now.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when the Browns have two pro bowl quarterbacks
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: on the same season in Joe Flacco and Shador Sanders, not a good look for the NFL.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, we'll get past that.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_01]: So no, I'd still probably rather keep the first round pick.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think part of it is just because maybe I've got a little PTSD from all the
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: Wilson's probably in the sea hocks.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, pretty much.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: And helping them when they're super well, you're welcome, Seattle.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: And so I don't quite want to get rid of that, per se, but and the second round pick, I just, I love day two of the draft.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_01]: This is probably my favorite day of the draft.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: And so to see that gone and have, let's go from thick 30 to in the 90s, be our next pick, would be a little bit rough to go through.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: But that's just a personal thing for me because I love the draft so much.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but like I said, if you're adding a j brown and you're kind of viewing it as that's our our second round pick.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_01]: So then you can go, okay, whoever we get in the first pick or first round.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's hiding city.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe something like that.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: I know some people I've already seen those mentioned in the track chat here.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: Even so people asking about about love from Notre Dame.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's not making to the Broncos.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: There's just no ways making it clear down to 30, so give up on that dream.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry about that people.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: If you were really hoping that would be what happened for the Broncos.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, if you can view it as, okay, whoever we get it picked 30 plus AJ Brown, I could definitely feel much better about that.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_02]: And again, the reason this is even a conversation is because Moss is on an expiring contract, and you have a first round pick that your current defensive coordinator has mentioned the vision
- 36:16[SPEAKER_02]: in season interview, when we thought he was as good as gone, and man's so upset, so probably should have got a job.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_02]: But you're probably not going to be able to or want to sign both of Jake Juan McMillan and Riley Moss.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: So really the question is, where do you want Baron to be?
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: And let's say it's not necessarily, let's say Baron's vision is slot.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_02]: The Eagles, as we already mentioned, they have the best slot corner back in football in Cooper,
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: subsequent, subsequent trade, uh, to change resources.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: This is what I've always thought as well.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_02]: If Denver is making a move for a wider zebra, I think somebody's probably out in the room.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: Right now, unless they're carrying six, and I don't know if they really want to do that with a new kickoff rules when none of them play core four special teams, but we'll see.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: We're still kind of figuring out what teams like to do with the roster math when it comes to that.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, but.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you end up moving McMillan instead.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: You do have Chris Abram strain.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: Denver apparently preferred to play Chris Abram strain on the boundary and comparison to bear in when they had the option this season.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: Cornerback while it's stable right now for Denver you do have some turnover on the horizon with two of your top three is hitting free agency and this this would just be we already aren't planning on keeping rally Moss we like the depth we have and we have a chance to add a wide receiver who we can build the passing game out of so.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I'm not against it by any means, and I like Riley Moss a lot, but I do understand the thought process behind it, but the main question is, how good is Baron?
- 37:59[SPEAKER_02]: They would no better than we would.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_02]: If they feel ready for him to take over that spot, first drum pick, I get it.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: We've talked about I think a few weeks ago on this show that drafting Baron in the first.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that was incredible value because I do think most people thought he'd be going top 15, top 17 of the draft, but getting him at 20, there's value in that, but if you miss the first two, possibly three years of his rookie contract and he's not out there playing at least
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: He could still turn into a great player, but that doesn't mean that you got great value, per se.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's part of why you love getting these rookies is because they're cheap.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: Why Bonyx?
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're allowed to be able to go make all these signings of Sertan and Bonito and Halin and Cooper.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, let's go on.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: Of all the guys we've been able to sign who Fonga Jones Green Law.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: We've been able to have those contracts because we have these guys on rookie contracts.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you're not able to take advantage of that and have this guy being a productive guy above what his contract is paying, you're really missing out.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: So I do think that not that you push it just because he's a first round pick and you got to get him out there, but if you really do think he can be anything.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: Then yeah, you probably do put Riley Moss out there or or McMillan, either one, I think you can they probably both combine there's going to be conversations and every single Bronco on this team that has an expiring contract right now guess what guys there's going to be like, well, what would it take for you, are you interested at all like, oh, well, I mean,
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: everyone's available for the right price, especially if you're on an expiring contract.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_02]: And then we got Phil, come in in here.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_02]: God bless you.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, Melissa.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_02]: What's it going to cost to keep McMillan and when do we pay him?
- 39:56[SPEAKER_02]: They do have the restricted free agent pathway for him.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: I would imagine he gets the second round tender placed on him and if somebody wants to pay him and give us a second round pick in the process.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_02]: God bless.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's a good deal for all parties because that means we're building signed a contract and that also means that Denver is going to get a second on pick in return.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I would be for it as far as what his contract is like McMillan.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_02]: I always talk about both sides of my mouth when I talk about him because he does have instincts to take away the football, but as far as coverage goes, he was the weak link in the secondary, and a lot of his weaknesses, this season were covered up because of how dynamic a phonga is coming downhill.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's...
- 40:46[SPEAKER_02]: the Nick Nolan is not really dynamic against the run.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_02]: You can't really use them as an insert player as a blitz kind of like what we saw at the Seahawksos year utilizing a weather spoon and a man warrior again, the Eagles with Cooper regime like that slot player has become more of a safety linebacker versus like you know Chris Harris's tiny of the smaller of the world and they're really physical against the run.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: and their blitzers as well.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_02]: McMillan just doesn't necessarily bring that giddy up, that closed closing speed.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_02]: So again, if somebody offer a second on pick, God bless, God speed, and I would imagine, I mean, nickel cornerbacks, they're valuable.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_02]: They don't get paid boundary cornerback money, still all the same.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't think he's gonna get a ridiculous contract.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_02]: And right now, I'd imagine Riley Moss probably gets a bigger contract than McMillan if both were on the open market.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know exact money that he'd be looking at by any means, but you're right.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think there, he has real value for this team, but there's still some limitations to it.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: And, and I do think that there's, there's some ways that he gets covered up, who Fonga be in here really, really helps to, to make life much easier for McMillan, where he doesn't have to be as good in the run support, because who Fonga's coming up and make in the play.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't have that the year before and there were teams that were able to run against us at will because we had a lot of smaller guys out there safety's were out of position linebackers were out of position, but in Fonga being able to come down be that aggressive guy really made life much easier.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: And talking about life being easy here we go, Jean coming in with some stars saying, what's up, men good to see you all tonight by Riley, hello AJ Brown.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not too excited for his attitude, it'll make both better, referring to the recent trade idea with the Eagles.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: Here's a deal.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: I get AJ Brown.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: He does wear out as welcome, eventually, pretty much everywhere he goes.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: But there's at least a couple years where you're going to get top notch AJ Brown and even his issues.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's mostly, he knows how good the player he is,
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: And he just once the opportunity to actually go show it.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: And unfortunately, he went to the Titans.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: Not the greatest quarterback situation and very much a running team when he was there.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_01]: Then he goes the Eagles.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: Another, not a great passing team.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_01]: Failing herds is up and down with what he brings.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's either really short, really deep, nothing over the middle of the field, or AJ Brown can really do some damage over the middle of the field.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so he's never quite had the situation to take advantage of his full skill set.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: Now, him coming to Denver, like I said, we're one of the most pass happy teams in the entire league.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: And you go at AJ Brown, you're gonna be able to say, hey, we're gonna get you probably three or four more targets at game.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_01]: Come in here to Denver.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he's going to be much happier in that kind of situation, and they're going to be able to take advantage of his quick first step, getting himself open on some slants or Hitches, you know, plays that Sean Peyton loves to have those kind of routes within his system.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: And so yeah, I think he would love it being here in Denver.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think you'd love playing with bone mix.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he would be renewed.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes a guy getting into a new environment makes a big difference.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: And then I think the other thing is, not that the Eagles didn't have good leadership.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: They have good leadership there.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: But I think you're in Denver.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: You've got Portland Sutton that would be working with them.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think Sutton's actually a really good leader.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_01]: I still remember being a training camp a few years ago, and Emmanuel Sanders was kind of being an a-hole, and wasn't putting his full effort into practice, and courting this up was a rookie.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: And he came up and was like, yellin' at him, screamin' and just be like, dude, you gotta get moving and all said, and bister flying everywhere, and it's like, you know, being up on the hill, everybody's like, what happened?
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: What, you know, because everybody's paying attention somewhere else, and here they are on the sideline fighting each other.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: And so I do, I think that they do have some decent leadership there, of course, Botanix, I think he's going to really work hard to make AJ Brown feel comfortable in this offense.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: And Sean Payton, I think he has that reputation of, hey, yes, I push my guy's hard, and I think AJ Brown will respect that.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a few final thoughts on this before we wrap up because it is time and I don't know if you guys heard the kid screaming in the background But yeah, the difference two differences.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_02]: I one jail in hearts is a super winning quarterback and that's who will against the chiefs game last year was By far in a ways best games ever played.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's not the norm And you could see interviews with AJ Brown like what do you guys need to improve on the past game like you watched the tape?
- 45:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's like guys are open Uh-huh, you're not hitting the middle of field in time and also it's the aspect of well again
- 45:48[SPEAKER_02]: The Eagles were amazing last season, but I credit the overwhelming talent on the blinds of Scrimmage and the defense in general.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_02]: And the scope position players, more so the quarterback, as well as more so than the head coach.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: Seriani is a show on to himself, and that can be multiple directions of the child Peyton as well, but Sean Peyton's got skins on the wall.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_02]: He has been consistently good where the Eagles stuff feels.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_02]: fragile and volatile.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_02]: Very fragile and volatile.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_02]: So coming to here would be different.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm all.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm here for a getting AJ Brown.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: Is it definitive?
- 46:22[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt top five wide receiver?
- 46:23[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_02]: Is one of those guys going to be available?
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if you want to put first run pick in $40 million in George Pickins, maybe, and I'm not saying we shouldn't do that, either.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that the situation here is different.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_02]: And also, I don't remember necessarily Carl, you mentioned
- 46:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember it getting super ugly and Tennessee.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_02]: Either, like I remember, like he was definitely like frustrated.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember it being.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_02]: the distraction.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: I remember that it was like a lot of like set that was driven by the general manager and after it happens like Jesus Effing, believe like what are you sorry to invade Carl but like what are you doing here?
- 46:59[SPEAKER_02]: GM is fired immediately and these guys are like wow that was really freaking stupid um so um I don't know I just Okay, it's not a I don't think he's a bad person He wants of always got his ring and I think he wants his numbers now to build a Hall of Fame case
- 47:14[SPEAKER_02]: Sean Payton is going to probably do this for you AJ, and kind of made the same argument for having an ingram in that didn't materialize last year, but you never knew.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_02]: So, again, I'm here for the exact package.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_02]: Riley Mosk could be, or Jekyll and I could be moved.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_02]: independent of a move for somebody like AJ Brown.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_02]: But we are going to wrap it up here guys.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate what I better go help out from whatever the screaming pig was that was in the background.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to see David Schlosser as well, just hope Baron wasn't picked because they scrambled because everyone they really wanted was already gone and they trusted their board and they had him graded high and
- 47:53[SPEAKER_02]: There's other good guys available, I mean, in hindsight, all because we know what some of these players are now, the move would have been the trade-down with the giants and getting more capital and still having a chance at, you know, Shwestinger or Luther Burton or somebody like that who maybe moves the needle a little bit more.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_02]: But I still think it was probably good process overall.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see it, but yeah Carl, thanks shout out to Bill Barnwell, fun for him to kind of give us some scenarios.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, combine next week should be a lot of fun.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_02]: I do think we're kind of sadly reaching the age where a lot of these guys aren't going to be testing as much anymore, but still, the combine, while they put it up on TV for all the medicals and everything, the real value from the combine is having a everybody in the media and personnel coaches in the same place.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_02]: Staying up too late and sharing drinks and sharing words and then also the medical checks.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: Those are probably the two most actual valuable things coming out of the combine.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, for sure.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's lots of rumors that if you bought John that way of drink, it'd give you a pretty much a, a little tid bit of information for every drink that you bought them.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: So and and he by the end, he was just pretty much selling everybody everything.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 49:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think our new regime is quite to that level.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: By any means they're pretty tight-lipped on a lot of things that are going on.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: But, yes, hopefully get a few little things coming out.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe some trades going on.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: And it's going to be quite the whirlwind over the next probably three weeks, four weeks with free agency.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: And like I said, you said, combine coming up, lots of information coming.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_01]: So make sure you guys tune in from my high hurdle.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, we did a mock yesterday a lot of fun.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be live with Scott again tomorrow morning.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: Shout out to Dan, a Henry for the Super Chat, Phil McLaughlin as well.

- 50:20[SPEAKER_02]: Just be prepared Valentine's Day as Super Bowl next year.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_02]: Super Bowl's on the Valentine's Day.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe celebrate that a week early or a week after.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably even a better move.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but yeah.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_02]: Have a great one guys.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_00]: Stay out of trouble.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_00]: Go Broncos.
